Quest’s Summary: You play as Pangea, the daughter of The Emperor created to be an emotional support for the primarchs after Malcador convinced the Emperor that the primarchs, while powerful, are ultimately human. Pangea would act as a way to secure the primarch’s loyalty to The Emperor by having the primarchs relying on Pangea as their emotional support… if Pangea remains loyal that is.

As the sons of The Emperor return to the fold, Pangea created a bond with Alpharius, Horus, Fulgrim, Sanguinius and Angron. She still sees the future of Horus and her brothers’ betrayal but knows in her heart this is just one future, one that can be avoided. After bringing peace to Verona, she faces The Hermit, and eventually learns of Chaos.

With that knowledge, she is under Malcador’s tutelage once more to become the first inquisitor, to protect the budding Imperium and her Father’s dream.

People roamed the markets. Laborers carried crates of goods fresh off the ships. Merchants and customers haggled. Children held their mother’s hand as their eyes wandered from vendor to vendor. And the Princess stalked through the crowd, her gaze focused on a man with shaggy stubble and unkempt hair dressed in a tattered jumpsuit. She tapped into the man’s thought with ease, like entering an unguarded fortress.

They’ll pay for what they did to House Capulet, this will be my vengeance!

Pangea gently pushed through the crowd as she followed the man. She clicked her tongue twice, then paused, then clicked her tongue again. Luna broke from her side and skulked into the alleyway. Pangea parted the crowd quicker, using her psykic power to compel the people to move away.

Verona, oh my beautiful homeland… I’ll take many as I can with me!

Pangea stalked through the market in a hooded robe. The man approached the Albian Crusaders closer. Pangea tasted the man’s rage and disgust. In lieu of more offensive capabilities, she sharpened the subtler psykic powers. The Albian Crusaders continued to be vigilant about the goings on in the market, but were still unaware of one single man amongst the many.

This is for the Capulets and the Great Hermit!

Pangea…

>Waited for the attack. The man pulled his pistol and grenades, but no destruction followed. Instead, the man’s limb froze up. Pangea held the man with her telekinesis. The man screamed in pain, loud enough to grab the attention of the Albian Crusaders and her presence.
>With her divination, she moved in before the man could act. Pangea jumped past the crowds and landed right in front of the man as he pulled two grenades. With a single twirl of Palatine, the grenade and the man’s hand dropped on the ground.

Pangea waited for the attack. The man pulled his pistol and grenades, but no destruction followed. Instead, the man’s limb froze up. Pangea held the man with her telekinesis. The man screamed in pain, loud enough to grab the attention of the Albian Crusaders and her presence. The crowds formed an audience as the two crusaders rushed to the scene, then knelt once seeing the princess.

“Your eminence!” A crusader said.

“Get him chained up.”

The people watched the man be held down by an unknown force. The man’s arms bent at an odd shape, his legs folded curled up to his chest. The people of Verona knew this young woman, she was Princess of Mercy, for allowing the Capulets and the Montagues to live despite their infection of the dastardly psyker known as The Hermit.

“It’s her!” A man in the crowd said.

“That man could have kill the soldiers but she still spared him.”

“Pangea The Merciful!” Another whispered.

The crusaders quickly knocked the man out and wrapped heavy chains and clasped cuff on the man’s wrists. Luna returned to her side while Pangea moved her braid to her back. The arbitrator rushed back, the man dressed in a pristine blue uniform with a black cap.

“Your eminence!”

“Ah, Magistrate.” Pangea said.

The portly man knelt. “Thank you for your assistance. To think one of them escaped and came back here… I am ashamed to have you dirty your hands in this matter.”

“If not for your judge’s actions and heroism, I would agree with you. But your judge was helpful in my investigation, it’s only right I help an honorable man like him.” Pangea said. “Give my regards to Dredd, he was instrumental in my investigation and will be considered for an award. Without his notes this matter would have taken a long time too. Thankfully, this is over.”

The portly magistrate stood back up with a pained grunt.

“Of course of course, I assume you will be heading back to Terra?”

“If I am not sent out on another hunt, then yes.” Pangea said.

“My lady.”

The portly magistrate flinched from the voice behind. Diani’s silver eyes remained bright as ever but her hair was cut short. A bolt pistol dangled on her waist holster as she walked forward, her dull armor smoothly shifted with her movement in silence.

“Diani, is the paperwork taken care of?”

“Yes, my lady.” Diani said softly.

“Good, we return home, Terra at last.”

>“I promised Sanguinius to visit him first.”
>“Fulgrim for some reason wanted me to see him when I got home.”
>“Angron wanted to see me for some reason and I wanted to see him anyway.”
>“Horus said he has a surprise for me, I wonder what…”

The Chambers of Auspicious Conquerors.

This section of the Inner Palace was divided into twenty sections, each belonging to one primarch. Now, The Chambers of Auspicious Conquerors… still remained as twenty. Pangea’s new room however, was now loaded closer to the chambers. Pangea placed her weapons and armor to her personal armory with Diani’s assistance. After a quick shower she dressed into her mephiston red light gambeson with golden accents.

“Diani, you’re dismissed as well. Rest, you earned it.”

“But you’ll need a—”

“I’ll be fine.” Pangea said with a chuckle. “Go spend time with your family.”

“I…” Her head hung low. “I will, thank you.”

Under the bright sun, the auramite armor only on her right arm gleamed with pride. The path to Sanguinius’s chamber took a longer path, almost isolated from others for reasons she did not know though the isolating location did not deter her and her brothers from visiting him. Pangea stood in front of the double asymmetrical door gloriously decorated.

“Sanguinius?” Pangea knocked on the door. “It’s Pangea!”

The door opened.

“Sister!” Sanguinius said.

They shared a brief but heartful embrace.

“It’s been too long.” Sanguinius said. “I heard Marco Polo docked but I did not expect you to arrive today.”

“I promise, didn't I?”

Pangea entered a paint scented room. Yet, she did not find a painting but a blank canvas.

“What is this?” Pangea said confusedly.

“I already had a painting finished but I scrapped it. I thought for too long on what painting would be fitting for you. I found none. Our visions haunt us, and we fight against the future that will break humanity. We toil for the future, but we do not relish the present, that is why I want to paint you as you are now.” Sanguinius said.

Pangea saw the pain that only few could understand. The burden of the future. The uncertainty of the strands of destiny. The visions that no man could hold.

“Are you well?”

“I am.”

The lie was so easily seen by Pangea.

>Pangea chose to not pursue his pain but to alleviate it. “You said you wanted to paint me right? Do you have any poses?”
>“You’re not.” Pangea stepped closer and grabbed his hand. “I am the only person that understands, maybe Father but he’s… Father. Please tell me what’s wrong.”

This is a tough choice. Sanguinius handled his visions well enough. Accepting his possible fate but not diving headfirst into it. But getting him to open up now may help with Konrad and maybe others later. That boy ain't right.

“You’re not.” Pangea stepped closer and grabbed his hand. “We agreed to share the burden of guiding humanity into a brighter future. Your pain is my pain, please tell me what’s wrong.” Pangea looked up at her brother and smiled, "And in return, I promise I'll paint a portrait of you, too.”

Sanguinius smiled weakly.

“You’re awful at painting.”

Pangea planted her fist on her hips. Her long ponytail whipped angrily like a cat’s tail.

“I’m not that bad.”

Sanguinius’s chuckles withered, his gaze stared at the blank canvas.

“It’s best if we sit first.”

Sanguinius’s personal chamber always impressed Pangea. The gold and white mixed with Baal’s tribalistic culture in a perfect harmony. Pangea sat on a white pelt covered chair, swishing the wine gently, indulging in the sweet and light scent of berries. Sanguinius’s goblet was filled with a dark red liquid, heavily scented with sweet flowers.

“So, what’s the problem?”

“I fear no one considers my visions sincerely. I do not wish to sound like some mad prophet but every time I speak with Father he does not seem to understand.”

“You know why.” Pangea said.

“Yes… but do you think that Father is underestimating our foresight?”

Pangeae shrugged, she sipped on her wine and smacked her lips.

“I don’t know. Have you ever been able to tell what Father was thinking?”

Sanguinius shook his head.

“No.”

“Me neither. But I know Father wants best for humanity, I know that for certain. All we can do is support him as best as we can.”

Sanguinius’s head hung low. Pangea wrapped Sanguinius’s shoulder in her arms.

“I know it’s frustrating but you’ll always have me to talk to, you know that right?”

Sanguinius gently pulled Pangea in for a closer hug. His arms folded around Pangea’s tiny back. Regret and shame swelled in his heart, knowing that his little sister had to comfort him when it should have been the other way around.

“Thank you, Pangea. Thank you.”

The next day, Pangea visited…

Sanguinius’s chamber combined minimalist beauty with his Baal heritage. Gold, white, a bit of red with evenly spread spaces filled.

“Pangea!”

As the double door burst open, a plume of perfume broke out. Nothing bad per say, perhaps a little strong for Pangea’s preference. Fulgrim wore a purple and gold tunic with a sash that hung from his shoulder and across his chest.

“Fulgrim, it’s been too long!”

Fulgrim knelt to hug face to face. Their cheeks nuzzled briefly before breaking off. Pang

“It’s been far too long.”

“I’ve only been gone for a year, Fulgrim.” Pangea said,

“A year and a half.” Fulgrim said.

The golden interior was dipped with purple and white, decadence flowed from each corner with the tiniest details decorating the chamber. Crystal chandeliers, golden furniture draped with rich cloths. Despite the abundance of decadence, this was Fulgrim.

“So.”

Pangea and Fulgrim entered a spacious room with a circular table. A serving stand took the center of the table with varying fruits and snacks. A steaming cup of tea in ornate porcelain cups waited for Pangea, she breathed in the aroma and sighed.

“This is wonderful.”

“Isn’t it?” Fulgrim took his seat on the other side of the table. “The archaeologists and the historians in Chemos discovered the old Chemosian culture. I’ve managed to recreate them.”

“And the fruit?” Pangea said.

“Also a product of Chemos.” He plucked out a green berry from the plate. “Step by step, my people are slowly regaining their dignity and their passion.”

Pangea raised her teacup and Fulgrim raised his.

“To the future of Chemos.” Pangea said.

“And to the future of humanity.”

Fulgrim then chuckled.

“Also, this is tea, not some tankard you hold as your cheer. I hope you didn’t forget your court etiquette.”

Pangea sipped her tea without an answer. Fulgrim shook his head.

“You do realize you’ll be participating with some ball or a gathering, yes?”

“Not me, I’m sure you, Horus, and Sanguinius can handle it.” Pangea said, she bit into an apple with her bare hands. She rolled her eyes. “Alright fine, I’ll do a refresher if that will stop you from staring daggers at me.”

“Splendid.” Fulgrim said. “So, how was your journey into the void? Any adventures you want to share.”

Fulgrim saw Pangea’s shoulders stiffen, her eyes avoiding his gaze as her lips shut. Fulgrim saw this visage before, like the people of Chemos long before his ascension to the Prefector. This was not fear per say, but pain.

“Or any romance that budded during your journey?” Fulgrim said with a mischievous grin.

“W—What?” Pagnea’s body loosened. “No!”

“Truly? I thought you’d be interested since Diani is now married. I thought you would experience something like that of your own.” Fulgrim said, relieved with Pangea’s reaction. “Come now, you can tell me.”

“I didn’t have time for that, maybe Diani did but not me.” Pangea sipped her tea longer this time.

“How are you doing Fulgrim, are you and the rest of our brothers getting along?”

“Splendidly is what I wish to say. We do not interact as much as we should as brothers.” Fulgrim said with a deflated tone. “There is no issue between us either, it seems like we all have our own matters to attend to. We do gather once in a while, but it ends too quickly.”

Pangea shrugged. “The Great Crusader is near after all. It makes sense. I heard Father is sending you all instead of waiting to reunite with two more of our brothers.”

“Yes, I do understand that but I was hoping to speak with my brothers more. To have true fraternal bond.” Fulgrim pressed his lips on his knuckles. “I suppose it can’t be helped.”

Pangea heard a footstep behind, heavy and steady, a familiar sound of an astartes footsteps. The astartes wore the colors of Fulgrim’s legion.

“My lord, I apologize for the interruption.”

“No apology needed my son.”

The voice was silky with just the right amount of baritone. Among the legions she knew so far, the geneseeds of the thirteenth and ninth legion always seemed to sculpt the astartes’s face into a princely visage. Pangea turned from her seat but stayed where she was for now. Once their eyes met, the astartes lowered his head. Fulgrim stood from his seat and proudly patted the astarte’s shoulder.

“Pangea, this is Lucius. One of our newest neophytes.” Fulgrim said.
>>
The future of corrupted Horus never left her thoughts. The strands of fate, each describing the fate of her brothers up until Father’s entombment on the Golden Throne. She saw the future of her brothers from the view of an audience, she saw everything but never the thoughts of their brothers. Despite the clear set of events she foresaw, the surrounding faces however always became blurry, never detailed enough to see.*

“He is one of our rising stars.” Fulgrim said with a proud smile.

“Your words honor me, my lord.” Lucius said. “Greetings, Princess. It is an honor to witness your visage.”

In her years in honing her subtler skills, she gained numerous abilities. Divination, empath, telepathy to name a few. Her foresight and her skills supplemented one another. The visions of her foresight became clearer. Instead of seeing the vision, she felt their emotions and thoughts. Pangea now saw the faces of those closely involved with her brothers’ downfall and those who became foul champions of Chaos. Some were victims and others were traitors, like Kharn.

“Lucius is it? It’s a pleasure.” Pangea said. “What message do you have for your lord?”

Pangea stepped forward. An unguarded mind in the present was feeble as a paper. One glance was all it took to rip open and see Lucius’s thoughts. Pride and arrogance oozed from Lucius, the thought that he could beat her so quickly, so methodically, so easily. He was a willing traitor, bloated with pride to the point of madness. A fitting scum for a champion of Chaos.

“Actually, my lady. This message is for you.” Lucius said. “Lord Magnus requires your presence at your earliest convenience.”

“Magnus?” Pangea quirked an eyebrow. “He could have just messaged me.”

“I’m sure he has his reasons.” Fulgrim said.

“Well since it’s at my earliest convenience and he hasn’t messaged me, I can take my time.”

To be fair to Kharn, we probably don't need to worry too much about him turning traitor so long as Angron remains loyal. Kharn just wanted daddy's approval and was willing to mutilate and murder his brothers to get it.

Pangea and Fulgrim exchanged stories and laughter. Worries were shared, and their aspirations declared, the afternoon drifted away into the evening. The gentle cold of amber tea changed to dark purple wine. One cup, two cups, three cups, a shade of pink quietly dipped into Pangea’s bronze skin cheeks.

“What’s wrong?”

“I am worried about my legion.” Fulgrim said with a somber gaze in his own wine. “My legion is the smallest, I worry I cannot do my part.”

“Fulgrim, you know that’s not gonna happen.”

He nodded as he swirled the wine glass, staring at the small whirlpool. Pangea tasted the bitter apprehension, the fear of failure and the venomous burden of responsibility. Fulgrim stared into the dark purple wine, seeing his own reflection. Pangea left her seat and stood beside him, looking up at his sullen brother as she squeezed his hand. Fulgrim gently pinched Pangea’s cheek and smiled.

“Don’t you fret, my dear sister, I’m alright.”

“Are you really?”

“Pangea, I haven’t survived three marriages without knowing how to take care of myself.” Fulgrim said.

Her eyes widened. “You were married three times?”

“Political marriages, but I have, yes.” Fulgrim said. “Let me tell you about each one.”

The afternoon soon drained away in blissful stories. After a day of personal alone time, Pangea then visited…

With his fate as the angriest son averted for the moment, we could have possibly the most empathetic and understanding Primarch of all. Though Pangea is meant to be the glue holding the family together, Angron de-angrified could very well be just that, if not for his Crusade-related duties.

The afternoon soon drained away in blissful stories. After a day of personal alone time, Pangea then visited… Angron.

“Angron?”

The door to his chamber was closed with no honor guards to stand watch. Pangea pull the bell of Angron’s doors. Pangea heard a footstep approach from behind, too light to be an astartes, but in a lock step like a soldier. Pangea whipped her head around, her eyes met a stone faced woman, perhaps a few years older than her. The young woman first bowed.

“Princess Pangea.” The woman said. “I am Lotarra Sarrin, newly appointed Captain of The Conqueror, Primarch Angron’s flagship.”

“Then you’re also here to look for my brother?”
“I am.”

Pangea saw a data-slate in her arms. She saw no panic or wariness in her thoughts.

“Where is he usually if he’s not in his chambers?”

“I see him in his personal training grounds in his chambers or in Principa Collegiate with his sons.”

The Principa Collegiate, the library of The Imperial Palace where all ambassadors and diplomats go to learn The Imperium’s way. Pangea avoided that place like the plague, finding it to be boring. She visited there once or twice, but never voluntarily.

“Why would he be there with his sons?”

“They attend lectures of diplomacy and statesmanship when they are not training.” Lotarra said.
>>
Another set of footsteps arrived. Angron and his honor guard returned. Pangea walked past Lotarra and embraced her brother. The look on Lotarra remained stoic, though Pangea saw the subtle movement of her eyebrows rising a tiny bit. Angron pushed opened the door and walked together.

“You should’ve sent a messenger.” Angron said with a gentle smile.

Pangea shrugged. “I’m not one for formalities, you know that.”

Inside the lounge, Pangea slumped in a soft, fur covered chair, too large for her to fit. The interior of Angron’s chamber was simple, untouched, far from the aesthetics of Nuceria. Save for a few pieces of furniture made of wood and other statues. She noticed the wooden bookshelves neatly placed around the lounge.

“Do you like that chair?”

Pangea snuggled into the egg shaped chair made of wood that hung from the tall ceiling. She bundled herself in a white blanket.

“I like the shape, I’ve never seen a design like this in Terra.” Pangea stopped before asking its origins.

“The concept, yes, but not from Nuceria.” Angron said. “I crafted it myself.”

“It’s wonderful, I love it.” Pangea leaned forward and back to make the chair sway. “So, how have you been? I heard The Nucerian nobles finally revolted and you had the honor of bringing Nuceria back into compliance.”

“Yes, I did.” Angron said.

Pangea sensed no regret, but feral joy underneath the well maintained visage. Nuceria, Dayha, and the entire slave owning planet emerged from her memories. The humiliation still incited anger, but weaker now that time had healed the wounds. When she heard the news she had no pity for the slaughterings, the High Riders did refuse the tithes after all. The tithes also included the firstborn sons being inducted into Angron’s legion.

Pangea reminded herself to thank her Father for that one.

“Also, I heard from Lotarra that you and your sons are attending lectures now.”

“I do not wish my legion only to be destroyers, if compliance can be done through diplomacy that will be my first path. If they resist, they will learn why my legion is called The War Hounds.” Angron said, his calloused hands and eyes still showed the feral brutality still left in his body.

“Think of it like a taste.”

Pangea overlooked the Principa Collegiate from a balcony in her personal study, when she used to study with her uncle. The people below moved like herded bugs, skittering the massive hive that was the library. The art of fine combing took time to master, but a great practice.

“A taste.”

“If you take on the emotion itself it can be difficult sometimes. Maybe not for you.”

“Hm.” Angron hummed. “I see…”
Angron was a natural like he was meant to be. From the loudest emotion to the most subtle, he sensed them, pin pointed them, to a level that surpassed Pangea. A bitter reminder thickened her jealousy. She was not a primarch and she would never be a primarch. No genetic gifts would ever grace her. No legion would follow her, and no one would ever claim proudly as Sons of Pangea.

“It's natural to feel envy.” Angron said.

Her face slightly wrinkled. “Wait how did you know?”

“I do not need to pry open thoughts to know it.” Angron said. "You do not need gifts to be great. My kins in the pit certainly didn't, you do not either.”

“Not when my brothers are seven foot tall and capable of mythic level deeds.” Pangea grumbled. “But I know what you're trying to do. You don't have to worry, my new position keeps me busy enough.”

Angron hesitantly raised his hand, then gently ruffled her hair. Pangea basked in the rough calloused hand patting her head.

-

The day after a hard training, Pangea finally found the time to visit Magnus. Through the gigantic auramite gate inscribed with Father’s conquest, Pangea saw the visage of her brothers discovered so far on the gate. Horus, Fulgrim, Angron, Sanguinius, Magnus, but not Alpharius. Pangea sighed, wondering when she would see her brother and what kind of missions he went on.

Past the gate were the chambers of her brothers, each given a section, only five seemed distinct from the rest of the untouched auramite chambers. At the step of Magnus’s chamber, she saw honor guard at the side of the door. They lowered their heads.

“Princess, I will inform your arrival to our father.”

A brief moment later, it was not Magnus that greeted Pangea but the first captain, Azhek Ahriman. His red ceramite armor shined under the sun, his scepter-glaive stood high with pride, both representing his station and the honor.

“Princess, it is an honor meeting you for the first time. I am Azhek Ahriman. Captain of my father’s honor guard and Captain of The First Fellowship.”

Pangea pushed aside her knowledge of his unfortunate future, then tasted an oily pool of worry. Sensing one’s emotion made for an easy read, despite being astartes they were human after all. His thoughts however, were different. Were he a normal astartes, his mind would have been an open book.

>Write-in. Pangea shields her mind as she has trained but gives a polite smile. I am pleased to meet you, Captain Ahriman. I assume my brother is deeply involved in his studies. Are you here to escort me?"
>>
“Is Magnus too busy to greet me?” Pangea grinned mischievously, almost in a coquettish manner. “I can come back later.”

Despite his helmet hiding his face, she saw the stiff body and stillness. He was hiding his uneasiness, with the oily worry Pangea tasted she knew something was wrong. Pangea maintained her playful mask.

“No, that will not be necessary,” Ahriman said coolly. “I will bring you to him.”

Magnus’s chamber’s interior was of light grey bordering on white, with the mix of blue and gold. Ornate bookshelves and various artifacts slept deep within the corners of the chamber with little furniture to be found.

“So, Fellowship is an interesting name instead of company.” Pangea said.

“It defines our legion. We are astartes, but also scholars, brothers, we are more than destroyers.” Ahriman said with a step in his voice. “There is much to learn in this galaxy, many tomes unread and cultures buried deep. I count the days until we are set free in the Great Crusade. Furthermore…”

Ahriman continued his aspirations, the excitement in his flat tone brimmed brightly. To think he became a traitor himself, Pangea once again buried the thought. Pangea continued to listen to the animated yet controlled excitement.
>>
“There we are.” Ahriman said. “Princess?”

A faint but malevolent force oozed out from the thick ceramite doors. A finely controlled warp essence, but still the tainted warp, the source of corruption. Many psykers she executed were fueled by the raw powers of the warp, shouting the twisted names of the gods. It was no wonder she sensed worry in Ahriman.

“I will—”

“Leave. Now. This is an order. By the authority of the Golden Throne.”

“I shall make my leave.”

Pangea used her psyhich power to slam the door open. Magnus stood in a wide room on top of a circle, with a black pole with a strange lantern on top spewing purple and blue lights. Pangea heard whispers within the warp as it bent into a knot.

“Pangea, do wait for a moment over there. I am in the middle of an experiment and I fear for your safety.”

Pangea stepped into the room, causing Magnus to end the experiment and the the lantern to cease its glowing. The primarchs knew about the warp and the creatures within, but they only saw them as devious creatures of lies. Unlike Malcador and Pangea, they understood them as Chaos. The only primarch that was aware of Chaos was Magnus.

“Sister, I told you it was dangerous. You know better than to blindly walk in. What drives you so urgently?” Magnus chided.

Pangea stomped her way in as she slammed the door shut. She stood close to Magnus then craned her neck up to stare into his eyes.

“You, Magnus. What were you doing performing an experiment in the palace?”

“It was under control.” Magnus said with a bored drawl. “You worry too much.”

“You were talking with those creatures!” Pangea said. “I’ve shared what I’ve been encountering and the corruption the warp has and you’re experimenting while talking to those things? I know Father warned you about them and told you not to experiment further!”

“Pangea, those psykers were unprepared and unenlightened. Surely you can’t think I am susceptible?”

“I’ve seen what can happen if this continues.”

Magnus returned her warning with a patronizing grin. Pangea moved her head away from Magnus’s hand. His smile faded away.

“You only see one possible future, one that is so infinitesimally small. You ought to stop letting your foresight blind you sister.”

>“Magnus, I’m only worried because of how dangerous the warp is. Father warned you, and expects you to not delve into this madness. You will put people in the palace in danger.”

Not the OP of that suggestion, but perhaps we can spin it so that even Sanguinuous’ less powerful vision can show that something bad is afoot? If nothing else, Pangea’s sincere plea (and possibly strategic application of puppy eyes) might get Magnus to talk to Sangy just so that she’ll stop being so worried.

Vivid as in more intense and impactful, we "only" see the traitors doing traitorous things. Meanwhile, Sangy see the whole bloody details of the Siege of Terra, he see himself gets beaten to a bloody pulp, the death of the Imperial Truth, and the broken form of our Father—plus, he canonically is the most charismatic of all the Primarchs, so if anyone can describe his vision in a way that'll get through to Magnus it's him.

We can’t really win by appealing to reason with Magnus, his brain and ego are too big for that, plus Tzeentch is prolly purposefully pulling his punches with him and his sons so their fall will be that much easier. But a double team sincerity-based attack on his feelings by his little sister and most charismatic/earnest brother might get him to reconsider, at the very least.

It’s more impressing upon Magnus the dangers of the path that he is walking now, rather than warning him about chaos specifically. I doubt that this singular action will sway him, as Magnus may be the type who will have to stumble into a pitfall himself before he learns his lesson. But if we can plant a seed of caution or temper his recklessness a bit for the sake of his family, that could pay off dividends later. Maybe we could even see if Big E or Maclcador could devote some of their attention to mentoring Magnus, and having him stumble in a more controlled environment so that his failures aren’t quite so cataclysmic.

This. We just need him to be more careful about dealing with random warp entities offering free candies, hopefully having Pangea and Sanguinius as the angels on his shoulder would help with that.

“Your arrogance is blinding you as well. Will you still stand proud when this leads to destruction? Or when I tell Father of this?”

Magnus shook his head.

“That is just petulant. I expect better from you, sister.”

Pangea rolled her eyes. “If you do not trust my word alone then let us go speak to Sanguinius, his vision is far more vivid than mine. Please do not go down this path. I just…” Pangea grasped her hands together, looking up with a concerned gaze. “I don’t want a future where my vision manifests. I don’t want you or my nephews to be bound to a fate worse than death.”

Magnus’s hardened and sharp visage softened. He sighed, almost patronizingly. Magnus knew he was her favorite brother, perhaps more than Horus due to their shared knowledge. Pangea was no colleague, an equal in wisdom, but she was open minded albeit easily influenced by Father. Magnus certainly did want his sister to delve into the warp like he does, perhaps a restraint needed to be displayed. For Pangea’s sake.

“Oh for Terra’s sake.” Magnus sighed. “Aim your guilt inducing eyes elsewhere. I’ll stop.”

“Will you?”

He raised his hand. “I’ll see if Father will allow some leeways. Will that satisfy you?”

Pangea’s stiffened shoulders loosened.

“No… but I’m glad you listened. Thank you Magnus.”

“You’re quite welcome. Now.” Magnus clapped his hands together. “The reason why I called you was…”

Magnus levitated a scepter, “You asked for a lesson on some defensive and evasive spells I can cast, are you ready?”

“Anytime. Anywhere.” Pangea said.

The rest of the evening consisted of training in the chamber’s common area, a gigantic chamber with numerous furniture for the primarchs to be in. Below the common chamber was a training ground, enough to fit two full legions. Pangea’s body turned to a wispy fog as Magnus’s curved glaive pierced through.

“Good. I think you got an understanding of the spells.”

Pangea’s body returned to flesh. She patted her chest and sighed relievedly.

“I can do it as I dodge but letting it pierce me is something else…” Pangea said.

“It’s better to try it now than later,” Magnus said. “Remember not to maintain the form too long, this will drain your strength quickly.”

“I will. Thank you, Magnus. And if I caused any ill will, I’m sorry.”

“I forgive you. I understand your concern after all. As all siblings do, we will argue. But in the end, we’re a family are we not?”

“That we are.”

The days went on, Pangea received an astropathic message that he will return in a month. Pangea’s day passed by, training and studying while spending her time with her brothers. As Pangea strolled the halls for a break, she saw

Lotara and Kharn.

Personally I think the most interesting for a romance oprion would be a kinda princess and the tramp situation.
She's headstrong and a bit abrassive, pairing her up with someone to keep her grounded (Think a menial worker of terra's forges for example) be an interesting option once she uplifts him into actually growing a spine.

Also, really interesting shorgun-dad, shotgun-uncle and shotgun demi-god brother shenenigans involved. (Of course the guy while terrified doesnt back down because as a "servitorizable personal" she's quite literally the best thing that's ever happened to him.)

Could be used to further Big Es character development as her father through it, at first as a "It's not propper of your station." And later as. "She's my creation, not my daughter, so why does this bother me personally?"

Could lead to antics such as him misunderstanding the situation as "At her age I was throwing pipe around Mezopotamian villages like a madman. I must prevent her from making the same mistake."

Imagine getting "the talk" from the emperor (As far as you know, totally unprompted and about a decade too late.) and then it somehow devolving about your dad speaking to you about his numerous sexual exploits, to try and prevent you from walking the same path. (That you never intended to walk in the first place.)

*warning, this update contains change in Lotarra’s lore.*

Lotarra Sarrin, being a Terran born woman, knew The Princess of The Imperium. From her early years to her incident in Lion’s Gate Space Port and the pacification in Verona, Lotara heard what she could. It was a year after that she heard nothing. No news, until she returned a week ago.

“Kharn!” The Princess then nodded to her. “Lotara.”

“Good day, Princess Pangea.” Lotara saluted.

She watched Princess Pangea approached, her foot stomping toward like a maddened rapier-class titans. Her steps were light, yet sure footed, the iconic long hair of the princess’s hair flowed like the dancing shadows of a flickering candle. Clear brown large eyes mischievously focus on Kharn as her lisp curved to an endearing grin.

“Princess.” Kharn said.

Princess Pangea patted his arm. The Imperial posters of Princess Pangea in the Imperial Navy posters and her colleague Hector Werserian did not do justice to her ethereal visage when they first met. Kharn thumped his chest with his fist and lowered his head.

“I’ve been looking for you! You owe me a rematch.”

“Neither of us lost, my lady.”

“And neither of us won.” Pangea said. “Back from the Collegiate I assume?”

Lotara’s colleague, Hector Werserian, did mention the princess’s love for sparring. Lotara thought of herself as a good fencer, thought fighting a spear with her sword felt hardly fair. On top of that, the princess trained with the primarchs and the custodians. Lotara

“Yes, I have matters to attend to, I'm afraid.”

Lotara watched the princess’s enthusiasm wither away.

“It can’t be helped, statesmanship is important and I don’t want to keep you away from your duty.” Princess Pangea sighed, she aimed her gaze. “And you, Lotara, care to test your mettle against me?”

There it was. Lotara shook her head.

“I’m afraid I will be also occupied.”

Lotara fought the urge to change her answer when the Princess pouted.

“When I’m on a break no one’s available it seems…” Princess Pangea sighed again.

>“Well, Horus is available today so I might as well bother him. He promised me a spar after all.”
>“Well, Horus is available today so I might as well bother him. He promised me a Cthonian return party after all.”
>“Maybe it’s for the best. Horus and I need to meet a hour from now, he said he has a gift for me.”

Honestly, I’m less interested in romance and Pangea getting to know other more relatively normal women her age. Aside from the Sisters of Silence and her handmaiden, she doesn’t really know any important gals in her life, especially those who serve alongside the Emp’s Angels and serve a vital role supporting them while not quite matching up to them. Hector is good, and I look forward to Pangea having more opportunities to interact with him, but I think Lotara offers some unique perspectives that are very relevant to Pangea’s role in life.
>>
>>6129370
>Horus promised a spar

Hours would. He's always the guy to play to your favorite beliefs
>>
>>6129377
That's a good point, she really doesn't have any female friends or role models. I'll do some thinking but thank you for your insight.

So, I am working on the romances. I'll introduce you to some characters here and there and see where the votes go. Lotara is still an option, but >>6129377 does make a good point for me. Not sure for now but I'll think on this more.

Maybe we can take her on as a handmaiden like Diani. Her future's pretty bleak if she stays on Olympia even if Pert remains a loyalist.
>>
>>6129457
I think Pert left her there to govern the place? Can't exactly pull her out.
Best we can do is probably help Perty not be so extreme in his response, or just prevent the entire rebellion from happening in the first place by finding a way to kill Erebus and Kor Phaeron that won't be too meta.
>>
>>6129370
>“Maybe it’s for the best. Horus and I need to meet a hour from now, he said he has a gift for me.”
>>
>>6129461
The moment Pangea lays eyes on Erebus and Kor Phaeron she'll want them dead. It might ruin her and Lorgar's relationship but I honestly doubt they ever would've gotten along, especially when he inevitably starts trying to convince her the Emperor is a god.
>>
I wonder if we can meet some abhuman beastmen and maybe ensure they have a place in the imperium. Though, to be fair, without the heresy they might be fine in this timeline.
>>
>>6129471
I don't think Lorgar's faith would be a problem. From what we see of his pre-Heresy self in the BL novels, he acted more like a friendly mormon who would give you his little book and ask that you have a look at it when you're free rather than a fundamentalist bible-thumper when it comes to interacting with his brothers.
I also think that Lorgar's faith in the Emperor was actually a really good thing since it fed the Emperor directly and lead to his believers being able to channel his power instead of feeding the chaos gods like Big E feared, but I'm also very biased towards him, so.
>>6129472
We met some ratmen/skavens on Luna and they tried to kill us for Tzeentch. I doubt Pangea will help any beastmen after that.

“Well, Horus is available today so I might as well bother him. He promised me a spar after all.”

The swung maul shook the ground. Lightning claws cut through the air. The swishing air thuumed with each strike made. Horus did not swing with recklessness, he timed his shot and flicked his wrist with his lightning claws to cover for the maul’s slow attacks. Yet…

“Our dear aunt has improved.” Torgaddon said. “And it was only a year.”

“She was gone for a year for the Lord Sigillite, she should be good.” Abaddon said. “But not better than father.”

The Luna Wolves watched the ensuing battle that moved faster than they could see, only catching a couple moments.

“You forget Ezekyle, she’s not using her psyker ability. This is pure combat.” Horus Aximand said.

Abaddon shook his head. “Father can still win.”

“Then how about we bet on it?” Tarik said with a mirthful interest. “Loser has to offer themself as Princess’s sparring partner until we head out again.”

Abaddon narrowed his eyes. “I’ll take the bet.”

Horus missed every attack, but no hits landed on him either. Pangea zipped in the field, stacked with various obstacles and fake debris. Pangea back flipped then somersaulted on top of a concrete sculpture of a baneblade. Pangea’s mischievous grin bloomed.

“Hey Horus, if I win will you give me a gift?”

Horus grinned, he rested his maul on the ground.. “Pangea, if you wanted a gift you could’ve just asked.”

“Where’s the fun in that? If I win, you’ll…”

“Where’s the fun in that? If I win, you’ll find me an exotic gift!”

“Done.”

“Well then, let us continue.”

A two hour spar. The sons of Horus watched their aunt and father spar for two hours, where neither made a hit. Of course, should this have been a real war, Horus would have won. By sparring standard, neither did. However, the Luna Wolves have learned one thing, the princess can now satiate her want for glory. However…

“A weapon!” Pangea said. “The coolest one you can find!”

“Then I shall endeavor to do so. And if I can’t, I’ll let you borrow Loken.”

Pangea gasped then giggled. “You’re the best Horus!”

Their princess did not change.

Within the Dark Cell’s garrison, Pangea walked inside an empty room with a tome, tarot cards, and a jar of dirt. Pangea sat inside the dark and small room that no astartes can fit, not even a squad of soldiers. Bereft of light, the ceramite walls reflected the golden light emitting from Pangea. The faint light flowed through her body and eyes.

The Hermit… show me where he is.

The tarot cards levitated into forming a circle and spun. The tome floated up, pages whipping through. In the great sea of The Warp, she sought traces of the Hermit’s power and the remnants of his deeds. Despite the fra reaching influence, searching for The Hermit’s influence in the great depth of The Warp remained difficult. The golden light faded away as the tome and the cards clattered to the ground. A long sigh escaped her lips as she picked up her data slate.

The worship of the Great Hermit thinned, but not the cults that worship the ideas of fate or change. They varied from Lord of Change ro The Great Fateweaver, but they were all tainted by Chaos. Pangea just knew The Hermit was still alive in a different body.

“It sound like you need help.”

Pangea whipped her head, shadow draped over the teal power armor and the familiar visage. Her eyes widened.

“Alph!” Pangea leapt and wrapped her arms around him, she pulled her head back to look up. “What— How? What are you doing here?”

“Same thing you have been doing, with some for Father. I’ll show you.”

In the garrison’s archive. Alpharius placed a data-slate on the table, the slate projected various planets from different segmentums.

“I’ve been hunting other cults as well. Not the followers of Tzeentch, but the other cults.” Alpharius said.

Underneath the light, Pangea saw the weariness in his eyes, the tired gaze forced to be vigilant. The armor had caked up dirt and small dents, with scratch marks and slit indents.

“Not by yourself right?”

“Don’t worry I wasn’t alone.” Alpharius said. “You realize your handmaiden alone won’t be enough as you continue.”

“I know… and she has a child too.” Pangea looked down at her folded hands. “I don’t want to put her in danger anymore.”

“I have some men I can recommend but we can do that later. I’ll be here for a while after all.” Alpharius said.

Her face brightened. “You will? That’s great!”

Alpharius nodded with a curt smile. “I also have good news. I found another of our brother. His name is”

“I also have good news. I found another of our brother. His name is Rackham Cay, the second legion is already informed.

Pangea’s smile brightened. “Do you think Father will finally begin the Great Crusade?”

Alpharius shook his head. “I can’t say. He has been in his meditative state in searching for our brothers. And I have been assisting him in that regard as well. You should see him, I’m afraid he will be ostracized due to his… origins.”

“What do you mean by that?”

“He is religious. He and Father are still discussing whether or not his world should be able to still worship his religion.”

Pangea watched from the roof of Sanguinius’s chamber. Her brother had a sickly pale skin with stark black hair in a crew cut. She now understood Alpharius’s worry for his brother when she saw the horns on some of his soldiers and his wife. Pangea observed with silent indifference as Rackham kissed his abhuman wife. Pangea placed the binoculars down and sighed. She rubbed the bridge of her nose.

“For Terra’s sake…”

Her visions showed two future. One where her brother was erased from history due to rebellion and the other joining the side of Chaos. Both were awful, but her vision never showed two branching paths. Pangea dropped from the roof and walked her way to her brother. The soldiers parted ways as they watched her in amazement.

“Excuse me, are you Rackham?” Pangea said.

He turned around and smiled, his sharp features resembled closer to Fulgrim's. “You must be Pangea, my sister. Maker’s blessing upon you!”

“I am, it’s a pleasure to be reunited.”

Pangea saw the abhuman woman standing behind Rackham. Her hair flowed down to her shoulders and her bangs were parted to proudly show her polished horns, she wore a simple white dress with a crown of flowers on her head.

>“And this is your… wife?” Pangea switched her gaze to the woman. “Good day, I’m Pangea. May I ask for your name?”
>Pangea held back her wincing. “Thank you for your kind words, brother.”

Either we purge the faith since the imperial truth refuses compromise or convince Rackham that religion is a sham for chaos to infiltrate him. Like damn we would have to convince the imperium abhumans are good and that religion is okay.
>>
“And this is your… wife?” Pangea switched her gaze to the woman. “Good day, I’m Pangea. May I ask for your name?”

The woman hid behind Rackham's side. Her forward pointing horn peeked as did half of her face. Rackham gently moved his hand to nudge the woman to step out of his side. As she did, the soldiers flanked around Rackham and the woman, eyes pointed forward at Pangea. Even with their full helmet with a slit opening, Pangea did not need her psykic power to sense their uneasiness.

"Hys... Hystera, m'lady."

The strands of her parted bangs hair fell, covering her eyes like a hastily drawn curtain. The small button nose and large eyes did make for a pretty face, but the horn stuck out like a servitor in a ball. Though, Pangea seen worse abhumans with more mutations but still with a heart. A horn was not bad as some people thought, though those who did were deluded followers of some gods.

"A pleasure to meet you." Pangea said. "How are you finding Terra?"

"B—Big, nothing like I've seen before..." Hystera said, whittling down to a whisper.

"If you need a guide around the palace, let me know, it'd be my pleasure to help." Pangea said with a plastic grin. "I'll take my leave. I'll see you soon Rackham."

"Hold on," Rackham said. "Sister, before you go may you and I share a prayer?" Rackham folded his hands together with a reluctant look. "I'm aware Father isn't... happy of my practices. But this is but a simple goodwill of blessing I wish to give."

The soldier murmured a quiet chant, then how much an honor it is to be blessed by the 'War Saint'.

War Saint.

The very title tipped her pleasant mood. What made worse was Rackham's lack of denials.

“I’m glad you are of an open mind, Hystera?”

Rackham opened his palms, Pangea placed her hand on top, and Hystera placed her hand above Pangea’s. Rackham brought a beaded necklace made of wood and closed his eyes. The soldiers surrounding him interlocked their fingers and lowered their heads. The urge to pull her hand was strong, but saving her brother was far stronger.

“Maker, judge of all that is right, I give thanks for his blessful day to meet my sister. Please watch over as she do your work and protect the Golden Throne and The Imperium that is your kingdom. Maker, lead us from temptation and evil, mahalat.”

Pangea pulled her hand as the prayers ended.

“Brother… you said The Golden Throne.” Her face scrunched. “Surely you don’t think Father is… The Maker?”

“I do not see why he would not be. He created you and I, the demi-gods, the angels, his avatars of his will.” Rackham said in pure earnesty. “I understand this is… against your belief but you have been with The Maker the longest, surely you can see it! I know it!”

Her patience began to thin, the very shame of having Rackham as her brother for the first time drew shame. He did not deserve a purge or corruption, but after seeing his practice a correction was necessary. Pangea brought her hands to her back and shook her head, planting a firm gaze to his eyes.

“Your people called you The War Saint and I do not see you denying it. Do you believe yourself to be a saint because our Father is a God?”

The soldiers surrounding him did not step forward, but now shielded him by standing in front of him which Rackham saw no issues with. Hystera fully retreated behind, not even meeting her eyes with Pangea.

Rackham grinned. “You are testing my hubris, to see if I am using The Maker’s divinity to cement my own position. I have been called The War Saint before Father. And I do think of myself as a saint, for we do his holy work do we not?”

Pangea saw Rackham as a ceramite wall, stalwart and with no opening.

>“No, and I can see that you will not be convinced.” Pangea turned around and walked away. “A good day to you, brother.” It was then she decided to ignore Rackham if she could.
>“Brother, I say this now but this belief will bring antagonization from Father and our brothers. Try to understand." Pangea would try to help Rackham and free from his ignorance at every opportunity, even defending him if she could.

“Brother, I say this now but this belief will bring antagonization from Father and our brothers. Try to understand.”

“I shall.”

Pangea would try to help Rackham and free from his ignorance at every opportunity, even defending him if she could. Pangea turned and walked away, with an uneasy bitterness in her heart. Her greaves stamped on the floor as she walked through the palace.

“Unbelievable, ugh!”

The very idea of Rackham churned her stomach with disgust. The very idea to think Father was a God… it was obvious he did not know Him as long as she has.

“I can’t believe that he thinks Father is a God!” Pangea huffed. “Here we are trying to unite humanity and one of our very own brothers practices what we are trying to rescue humanity from!”

“It is… rather unsettling.” Diani hesitantly admitted.

“Ignorance and superstition, not to mention worshipping our Father of all things.” Pangea scoffed. “I hope my brothers will be open minded as I am. I’ll do what I can but I’m just worred. Magnus is going to pop a vein if he heard our new brother is a zealot.”

Diani’s eyes widened, though her form was still stiff and straight.

“You’re going to defend his belief?”

“No, I’m going to defend my brother's ignorance. I just hope he is as good of a warrior as Sanguinius and a leader like Horus…”

“And if he’s not?”

“Then I’ll have tough work ahead.”

The past week, Pangea avoided meeting with Rackham if she could, though when any of her brothers would speak ill, Pangea defended him with the best of her ability. Mostly, she would tell them his ways are ingrained, and maybe they should talk to Rackham to understand his position. Her appeal to sympathy worked for Angron, Sanguinius, and Horus. Though Magnus and Fulgrim chose to ignore Rackham. It was Pangea’s effort that cooled their anger to cold indifference; they would claim to never help someone like Rackham unless he renounced his ways.

The week after, Pangea had been called to the Throne Room, and see her Father for the first time in a year. As always, his black locks flowed like rivers, and his golden visage glistened. At the first step of the Golden Throne, Father waited for Pangea to arrive.

—Pangea, my daughter, welcome back to Terra. It is good to see you return safe.—

Father placed his hand on Pangea’s head. Left and right, side to side, like a servitor repeating a motion.

“Thank you, Father. Am I summoned because of Rackham?”

He was instructed by a Techpriest who was exceptionally versed in old earth culture, and determined the golden ratio of palm to head for head pats, as well as the proper amount of affection and pressure to apply. Malcador filled in the gaps. Unbeknownst to all except a select few, many servo skulls had their domes polished clean by the Emperor in the year since Pangea last saw him.

Yeah, Magnus was one of the rare primarch that got along well with Lorgar because both of them seek to understand the universe and broaden their knowledge, just in different ways.
>>
>>6133324
I'm surprised they got alone seeing how Lorgar was a zealot
>>
>>6133333
In simple terms Lorgar wasn't a meathead like many of their siblings and openly valued none war related skills and scholarly pursuits. He also wasn't a recluse like some of the ones who did like the Khan or borderline autistic like Dorn.
>>
>>6133333
Lorgar was also one of the earlier Primarchs to back Magnus on his stance that psykers should be utilized by the Imperium.

When Magnus, Sanguinius and Khan proposed the Librarian space marine role at the council of Nikea Lorgar again backed Magnus arguing for it.
>>
>>6133333
So it was a mix of a love for scholarly pursuits, not being a war fanatic, similar stance on psykers and a desire to understand the fundamental truths of the galaxy which often pushed the two together. And the two would share telepathic conversations with each other.

Magnus however was not interested in the more theological aspects of Lorgar's belief beyond a scholarly approach.

Lorgar appreciated someone who shared his desire for enlightenment and found Magnus to appreciate the pursuit of understanding the truths of the universe and their place in it.

In short the two were both two nerds stuck in a family full of jocks who often didn't value knowledge beyond the material benefits it bestowed upon them.
>>
Thank you for your insight as always anon.
>>
>>6133333
Lorgar was a zealot when it comes to spreading his faith and his worship, but he's pretty chill when it's about his brothers. He was generally very supportive of everyone and doesn't try to force his faith on any of his brothers, just the occasional nudge here and there.

—For the time being, until Malcador or I send you to another mission, you are to follow me. If I am absent, you are to be under Malcador as he attends his matters.—

Smile, eyes forward, and walk at an even pace. One two three, shield mouth then laugh. The goings of Terra's court pulled Pangea’s patience. Trailing behind Malcador, Pangea’s stiff shoulder yearned for a stretch, and her heart demanded some sort of exercise. The mask on Pangea cracked as the days went on.

-Uncle…- Pangea whinged telepathically. -Can’t I go and train?-

-You already have- Malcador sent back. -You have taken a year exploring the galaxy and the dangers. It is only fair you take some time in statesmanship-

-But I’m an Inquisitor! I’ve met plenty of parasites that are the governors and weaved through the useless court dealings. I don’t need a lesson, I know how to deal with them.-

Pangea’s heels clacked against the velvet carpet above the hard auramite floor . A ray of sunshine poured through the glasses of the palace’s windows. The governors and bureaucrats bowed at their presence, seething jealousily of the servants and protectors that followed behind them. Pangea tasted the awful envy, and hid her disgust with her porcelain smile.

-In a capacity as an inquisitor, with the benefit of shrouding your identity but with significant authority when needed. You have not operated in the court as a Princess.-

Her brow twitched. Her heart skipped a beat.

-Is there a traitor in the Terran court?-

-No. You never had a responsibility in the court, this is just a good opportunity to learn them. There will be a time where your Father will be absent and you must take his administrative duties, not alone but still with assistance.-

Pangea raised a brow ever so slightly.

-Father will be absent?-

-Not now, not soon, but he will, when that time comes, I want you to be prepared. Come, Pangea-

-We will visit the Master of The Administratum.-

Malcador rolled his eyes as he heard a tired sigh grate slowly into a groan.

-Uguuughhhhhahh-

A psykic whip flicked at her forehead with an audible snap. Pangea’s head jerked back then rubbed her forehead. Malcador walked forward without a pause.

-Come along, Pangea. Prokofiev does not like waiting.-

The main sector of the Administratum was at the outer palace, a city named Petitioner’s City. Pangea and Malcador sat inside the auramite personnel carrier, the Coronus Grav Carrier. The interior was lavished with soft cushions and windows with velvet curtains. Pangea shifted the curtain to see the custodes and the solar auxilia matching on the sides of the grav carrier. The citizens on the sides of the streets watched the small parade with thunderous cheers and joyful smiles.

“Can I wave back from the hatch?” Pangea said with a hopeful smile. “Please uncle?”

“No, it can be dangerous.”

She rolled her eyes. “This is Terra, uncle. You’re being cautious for no reason.”

Malcador sighed. He gestured for Pangea to do whatever she wanted. The moment she could, Pangea popped from the hatch and soaked in the glory she did not have as an inquisitor. Pangea waved without a care.
>>
At the Petioner’s Hall. Pangea arrived at a spacious office with a vines of cogitators hanging from the wall. The long wooden table was filled with parchments, data slates, quills and inkwells, all organized in one neat pile. A lean man with a bald head bowed. The wrinkled face folded together into a kind smile that matched his inner thoughts.

A young woman of her age appeared in his mind with lighter skin and in some green field dressed up in a sundress. His great-great-grandaughter

“Lord Regent, Princess, good day to you both.”

“Prokofiev, I can trust you won’t hold back?”

Prokofiev clapped his hands together.

“Oh rest assured, by the end of the day she will be on the track to replace me.”

And so, it began.

First was the broad lessons of each branch of The Administratum. Then learning the work of the highest and the lowest. Still inside the office, Pangea sat at his desk while Prokofiev left to tend business. Suddenly, the door opened.

This dude's that lowborn officer rising through the ranks of the Imperial Army by leading his men to victory from the front. A bit of a gloryhound like Pangea.
>>
A reminder to the anons.

Thermopylae Leo was one of the officers that Pangea could have brought to Verona.

Thermopylae Leo, a young but accomplished infantry officer whose charisma and courage led many victories. Thermopylae started as a private in the Imperial Army and clawed his way to the rank of Captain. His strategies are unorthodox and risky, some accused him of being a glory hound, but never a coward. He is always seen in the frontlines and rarely at the back.

It was an Imperial Army officer, she remembered his face, Thermopylae Leo. The handsome glory hound that Pangea saw when she was choosing her XO before arriving in Verona. The face did resemble the picture. Auburn hair slicked back, straight jawline, and a handsome face. Beside him was Hector Werserian, a familiar face that Pangea forgot about until now. Leo laughed as he entered the room.

“You need to live a little, Hector. Those girls had the nicest ra—”

As Leo shifted his gaze from Hector to the front, he nearly dropped his data slate. His eyes widened, then went into attention with a sharp crisp salute. Hector followed, but with less rigidity, his body snapped to attention then saluted smooth. Pangea took off from her seat then politely smiled.

“At ease, gentlemen.” Pangea said. “Captain, I heard you have recovered, it is good to see you again.”

“Thank you, your eminence.” Hector said, “and may I introduce you to my good friend Captain Thermopylae Leo?”

“Your eminence. An honor.” His jaws tightened, eyes forward… except for the times he sneaked a glance.

“What brings you two here?”

“Captain Leo and I here to drop some data to High Lord Prokofiev on behalf of our commanding officers.” Hector said.

“Well, you can hand them over to me… I’m his aide for the day.” Pangea sighed. “Hopefully for one day.”

Pangea took the two data-slates then placed the data-slates back on the table. The work was done for now, Pangea beckoned the two officers to sit across. Prokofiev have yet to return and with no sparring rings or her dear Palatine or even Luna to keep her company, she might as well find entertainment on her own.

>“So, Captain Leo, I heard you were a private before you became an officer. It’s a rare feat that I can respect.”

>“I see that you have a chain sword instead of a power saber like Captain Werserian, is that a personal choice?” Pangea eyed the weapon. She did try the chain sword, but the weapon’s sound made for a terrible sword for clandestine missions.

>“So, Captain Leo, what were you so vigorously speaking with Leo about?” Pangea had the idea, but the opportunity to tease and the fun interrogation could not be passed up. Prying information became a second hobby she found fascinating ever since she took the duty of an inquisitor. It was like verbal sparring.

“I see that you have a chain sword instead of a power saber like Captain Werserian, is that a personal choice?”

Pangea eyed the weapon. She did try the chain sword, but the weapon’s sound made for a terrible sword for clandestine missions. Palatine’s length could not be adjusted thanks to new customization, and her power bow, Godiva, became slimmer and easier to draw. Leo nodded.

“A chainsword will ensure death but without the dexterity that is required for a saber.” Leo said with a forced humble smile. “I was not born from a noble family so I was not educated in fencing. And admittedly, I’m not a man of finesse. A chainsword suits me just fine.”

Pangea suddenly tasted bitterness and sadness. She saw brief glimpse of a hut bereft of warmth and love. It was only his younger self, a bedridden younger sister, and his ailing father.

“Then what kind of man are you?”

Thick bravado layered on top of his emotions. Leo presented a chamful grin, a well practiced one with a flick of mischief. Hector, sitting with crossed legs, rolled his eyes as he shook his head. Leo leaned forward. Before another word could be uttered, Hector harrumphed then raised a single eyebrow at Leo who nodded in response.

“A man of duty, my lady.”

Pangea glanced into Hector’s mind.

Throne that was close. What was he thinking trying to charm the princess? I bet she has plenty of suitors to deal with, and more during her birthday parties now since she’s recently around that age to marry. Whoever marries the princess would be the luckiest man in the galaxy.

Pangea then peered into Leo’s.

Whew. I almost flirted with the princess. It’s not hard not to, she’s just so beautiful. How can I not? Note to self: Buy Hector a round.

Leo was a man born in non-noble families, though his dossier did not describe what level of family he came from. Hector seemed to dislike the chains of a nobility.

“We must be off.” Hector stood from his seat. “I’m sure General Ban is awaiting our return.”

“Oh yes, I’m sure he is. It was a pleasure, your eminence.”

It was an hour later that Prokofiev returned and her studies continued. After a day of hard work, Pangea had a few hours before she would retire for the next day. Pangea could not help but think about

Thermopylae Leo

Pangea could not keep the man's image out of her head. Certainly, his story was nothing like hers. He clawed his way to the top, through sheer effort and courage with no connections or special gene seeds. All Leo had was him and his ambition. A young man who sought glory in battle with no fear. Not to mention is determined, sharp, dreamy ey—

“Princess?”

“Hm?” Pangea paused for a moment before realizing her silence. “I apologize, I am unsure what can I tell you…”

Under an auramite gazebo Lotarra and Pangea shared a cup of tea. The porcelain cups clinked gently on the saucers. Lotarra retained a surprising grace, in her verbage and movements. The tea's soft floral aroma spread through her lips. Colorful flowers of yellow, red, and blue decorated the garden and the gazebo with a hint of an earthy smell from the specially made dirt.

“I suppose I never felt a special aura from him. Yes he's a powerful psyker, but that's all there is. To me, he's my Father.”

Lotarra nodded, she sipped her tea quietly and waited for another subject. She could command a ship, stand side by side with the astartes, but making small talks with the princess proved to be a difficult task. Diani stood behind Pangea attentively.

“Do you think The Emperor is a good father?”

“Well, yes, he made some mistakes but he tries. That's all I can ask of anyone.” Pangea said with a shrug then sipped her tea. “Same thing for my brothers. I'm sure they make mistakes of their own too. I’m sure Fulgrim has his own mistakes he will forever hide.” Pangea said with a giggle.

“Your eminence…” Lotarra eyed the amber liquid then gazed back up carefully. “Why did you ask to spend time with me?”

“You are the captain of my brother's flagship. It's natural I get to know you better.”

“You did not invite other captains to a tea, your eminence.” Lotarra said.

“In all honesty? I just wanted to be friends with you. And my brother really, really likes you, so there must be something special about you.”

Lotarra's face remained rigid. Pangea rested her head on her hands.

“I do my duty. There is nothing special about me.”

“Perhaps that’s why.” Pangea leaned back on her chair. “Angron doesn’t spare words outside of diplomacy.”

“Lord Angron has two sides, that is for certain. He is a skilled diplomat and a tremendous warrior at the same time.” Lotarra said.

Pangea cheered inside her mind. A hook was cast, then taken. She did a quick nod then sipped the rest of her tea in one gulp. She truly was proud of Angron. From a mad beast to a warrior-diplomat, she looked forward to his performance in the crusade.

“That’s Angron for you. He and his men will be the spear tip of the Great Crusade.”

An excitement perked up, a faint ember pulsed within Lotarra.

“Will you be participating in the Great Crusade?” Lotarra said.

A sudden sharp pang stabbed her heart. She would be, in an unofficial capacity for certain. Not in glorious battles, but within the shadows. The past year hunting in secret under a guise of an agent of the Throne would continue. A part of her still wanted a legion of her own, or even a regiment.

“I will be doing tasks set by my uncle, one that requires a delicate touch.” Pangea said.

“The same work you’ve been doing for the past year?”

“Something like that, yes.” Pangea said with a shrug. “It’s delicate work I suppose.”

“And what kind of delicate work is that?” Lotarra said with a suspicious eyes. “I understand the Lord Sigillite has a lot of responsibilities, but some are left vague.”

“For a reason, Captain.”

Lotarra returned a slight nod.

“I understand. I’m afraid I have other duties to attend to but this was… an enlightening experience.”

“Enough for another meeting?”

“If time permits.”

Inside the Dark Cell Garrison, Pangea waited inside Malcador’s chamber. The damp air clung on to Pangea’s skin, the air smelled of old dust and wet cloth. The torches dimly lit the room full of old books and scrolls. Pangea sat on Malcador’s desk and swung her legs back and forth, the atmosphere of Dark Cell no longer weighed her down as much as before. The tall door opened, and Pangea’s lips curved to a smile.

“Hello Alph. Did uncle call you in too?”

“He did, it seems like you are called in as well.” Alpharius said.

“Guess we’re waiting on uncle then” Pangea grinned as she heard the familiar shuffling from the halls. “Guess uncle really is getting on his year.” Pangea said in a loud, obvious tone.

A book flew from the shelf, Pangea stopped the first one but did not account for the data slate that sneaked in a hit. Malcador entered his chambers, then glared at the child sitting on his table. Pangea rolled her eyes and hopped off, but not before a hug. Alpharius softly chuckled at the small antics, he wished his other brothers would be close to Malcador like Pangea.

“The Great Crusade will launch in six months.” Malcador said.

“That’s great, but you don’t sound excited uncle.” Pangea said.

“A new holliday will be created which will be Sol Casus Belli and Sol Primus Belli, which will be celebrated the day before The Great Crusade and on the day of. Pangea, there will be many talented men who will be invited to this ball who will arrive as the days of celebrating will come close. Keep them in mind in the future when you need to form your retinue. For now, you will be…”

Well i know that Vulkan's planet kept getting raided by the dark eldar until Vulkan grew up enough to bring the wrath of a grown Pimarch down upon them.

They also tried to warn Fulgrim of chaos i think but by that time he already had the sword so tried to kill him instead.

Angron had a craftworld send a hit squad after him before he even crash-landed but they got wiped out by the toddler Angron.

I think Eldrad meet Guiliman during the great crusade and they didn't end up fighting and Eldrad tried to give him his usual cryptic guidance.

But if you mean large scale contact then i really do not know, i think Iyanden didn't conclude its semi-maybe-kinda alliance with the Imperium until after the heresy.

>Lore question
Beyond dark eldar being dark eldar and the occasional confrontation with the craftworlds, I don't think so. Eldrad tried to warn Fulgrim of Horus' betrayal but Fulgrim was already corrupted by that point and blew up a craftworld or something, he helped Vulkan get to Terra through the Webway and opposed the Cabal's plan of sacrificing humanity to Chaos and hoping for the best (the Cabal is retarded).

Keep them in mind in the future when you need to form your retinue. For now, you will be On security with Alpharius in the first twelve hours of each day.”

“And the other half…?” Pangea said carefully.

“Attending the ball.”

Pangea’s face sucked up in pure dread and sorrow, as if she had tasted the most sour fruit in the galaxy. Malcador raised his hand right as her mouth opened to let her protest known. Alpharius held his laugh, as much as he loved Pangea, he did wonder what she was expecting. The only princess of the Imperium of Man and the only biological daughter of The Emperor of Mankind was always to be expected in events.

“Do I really really have to?” Pangea said.

“Yes, you are the Princess of The Imperium, when have you ever not been in a ball or an event?” Macaldor said. “You will go, or shall I put you in charge of the celebration’s planning?”

“It won’t get me out of attending the ball will it?” Pangea said.
“Absolutely not. Better yet, you will be talk of the court and the center of the noble’s attention because I will ensure you will be credited. What shall it be, Pangea?” Malcador said.

Pangea let out a guttural groan. Her back hunched down.

“Fine… I’ll do the security.”

Pangea and Alpharius walked side by side in the Dark Cell. Inside an empty chamber, Alpharius brought several large parchments and placed them on a circular table made of ceramite. The intricate lines and the sheer size indicated these were the blueprints of the Imperial Palace. Pangea and Alpharius discussed what areas would be patrolled by her or him, the placement of the soldiers, and the responses should an incident occur.

“There is something I can’t understand, why are we needed when there are the custodes?”

“This will be a show of force and the first celebration. Father wants to ensure nothing will go wrong. This is also a good opportunity for you to learn how to set up security should there be a siege.” Alpahrius said.

The Siege of Terra, she would have laughed if not seeing the visions. Pangea pushed the images away like she always did. Horus would never be the traitor she once saw him as.

“And what am I working with? Astartes? Anathema Psykana? Soldiers?”

“That will depend on how you will be operating. Publicly or in the shadows?”

“Being in the shadows is better isn’t it?”

“This will invite incidents, a better show of force can deter before anything occurs.” Alpharius said. “You will not be forced to do be one or the other. But your method will dictate your security team.”

“I’ll go publicly. I don’t want anyone to even think there will be an opportunity. And it will be nice to work with one of my brother’s legions.”

“What about the legions who have yet to be united?” Alpharius said.

Pangea shrugged. “Am I allowed to have that many?”

“A force of power can only deter with excessive demonstration. I will have other security duties to attend to, so you will have to create your own team.” Alpharius said.

“I can do that. I just realized… I’m going to be in charge of the entire palace’s security. I don’t know if I can do this right. What if I fail Father? This is nothing like purging small time cults or killing rogue psykers…”

“You won’t. Valdor and I will be at your side. You are not doing this alone.” Alpharius patted Pangea’s head. A reassuring warmth bloomed softly, chasing away her worries. “And you will never be.”

Despite being only half a year away from the celebration, Pangea could taste the levels of anxiousness and excitement. The serfs moved quicker, footsteps echoed louder, and the halls brimmed with zealous eagerness. Pangea heard the anticipating chatter between the generals and admirals. In her mind, the security of the palace occupied her thoughts. Diani followed behind, occasionally whispering to her of something that Pangea might walk into. Amongst her thoughts, one suddenly stopped her worries.

Azhek Ahriman of The Corvidae did not see the princess’s future with confidence. Many were able to see the future, false prophets, madmen, even if The Emperor considered her foresight important he did not. Even if she had the details of the events that led to the downfall of The Imperium, such tragedy would never happen.

“Will you be attending the ball?”

Ahriman did not break his eyes from the pages of his newly acquired tomes. The old and wrinkled skin of the leather bound tomes fit snugly in his hands. Ahriman sat in a lounge chair inside the Thousand Sons’ common area in the barracks. The stone walls insulated warm air yet the beige tile floors was cool to the touch. He and other astartes gathered in the common area, quietly debating or simply conversing about esoteric topics.

“Absolutely not. I see no reasons to entertain those fat parasites. We must be ready, now more than ever,”

Located on the other side of the Great Himal Mountain, the Thousand Sons barracks laid deep within the caverns, with newly created spaces to store tomes and scrolls. Ahriman and his Sekhmet contributed many for the barrack’s library which he looks at every time with pride. The dark wood procured from the otherside of the Terra also made for an extra bump in his ego.

“Indeed. I suppose the masses need a celebration for it. Though I do not know why.”

“Something to make them feel included I suppose.” Ahriman said.

The whispering stopped. Ahriman broke from his book and saw the following gazes. A lone young woman entered, no, it was the princess. Ahriman rose from his seat, men bowed as she walked past until she ended up at Ahriman. Behind the princess was a woman, and two custodians flanking her side.

“Captain Ahriman. I do apologize for the interruption.” The princess said.

“Not at all, your eminence.” Ahriman said.

“I want you to join me in the Inner Palace security team as my second-in-command.”

He did not show any indication of surprise, save for a quick double blink.

“May I ask why I was chosen? Surely Kharn or Gwyn would be better.”

But maybe change the "show your legion is no danger" to "show that your legion is vital to our Imperium", the point is to have a show of force, can't have that if our partner doesn't have an aura of power and danger
The last option sounds like a confession and now I'm imagining Pangea trying to kabedon a super human who's like two or three heads taller than her.

Side note- we should covertly have the legion tested for mutations more often than normal- or make testing more common across the space marines under the guise of concerns for the effects of radiation from the various battlefields and the prospects of dark age bio weapons

>>“They do not possess your intellect. You and I are of the same mind, martial prowess does not dictate who is superior.”

What caused the Thousands Sons to mutate wasn't really a flaw in their geneseed or even the sorcery. What caused it was their overreliance and overuse of their powers. They were so confident in their use of the warp that they didn't realize that they were overexposing themselves to it and, over time, that's what caused the flesh-change.

“Because I wish to show your legion is vital to our Imperium. I’ve heard the call for disbandment of your legion, and I won’t stand for the slanders. That is why I want you by my side.”

There was the given respect of her ability, and her position as The Emperor’s only daughter. Then the respect of earning the Sigillite’s trust in carrying out his missions, which led to her growth. Daughter or not, The Sigillite did not play favorites. That, she knew and accepted their unfortunate defection with their geneseeds.

“Well?”

His men watched with baited breath. Ahriman lowered his head and thumped his chest with his fist.

“It will be an honor.”

Each legion gladly sent their representatives. Inside the inner palace’s many empty rooms, Pangea watched the astartes enter. Some familiar faces, such as Kharn and Ezekyle. Pangea noticed the unchanged symbol, a hand holding a scale. Pangea shrugged, perhaps Rackham preferred to keep the old legion name. The Adjudicators did have a distinct aesthetic after all.

“Welcome one and all.” Pangea said. “I thank each and every one volunteering for this security team. We will be providing security near the ball-room along the banister and the main entrance. We are here as a show of force, to deter anyone from even thinking about staging an assault.” Pangea said. “First Captain Ahriman will be my second-in-command. The data-slate you have been given will have further details or questions you may have.”

The rest of the brief ended with no issues. Pangea leapt off the podium and left for her room.

Hmm, I think I may have picked that up from a youtube channel (Either 40k Theories or Majorkill) and I think I oversimplified it. The flaw is there but it was the Sons overuse of the warp that exasperated it. The use of sorcery certainly didn't help either.

The rest of the brief ended with no issues. Pangea leapt off the podium and left for her room. She had an arrangement to meet Father inside Malcador’s study. The grav-carts whizzed through the vast halls and rooms. Pangea watched the menials carrying and hanging decorations

“Things are already getting festive, aren’t they?” Diani said

“Preparing the palace within six months is a big task.” Pangea said. “I’m sure you and your family will love the sight.”

Diani gasped. “My family is invited?”

“Of course they are, your brought your children to Terra then left them for a year for me. You could have died but you still did. I want you to be by my side. Always.”

“As you wish… my lady.”

The familiar earthy scent welcomed her back. Pangea entered Malcador’s tower and into his study.

“Hello Father, hello uncle.”

Pangea took a seat in the open space where Father and Malcador sat across form each other nearby the fireplace. Pangea placed herself between with Diani closely behind her. Her wooden chair creaked quietly under her weight. Despite her close vicinity with the primarchs, she had to pry her eyes off through her own will and awareness.

—How goes the security?— Malacador said.

Pangea shrugged. —Nothing much, I’ve assembled my team, Alpharius and I already decided where we would guard.—

—And Magnus is also proud you chose Ahriman.— Father said. —There is an additional task I have for you. Find suitable people in the ball for your retinue. You will also be deployed in the Great Crusade.—

Pangea’s eyes widened. “Really?:

Malcador nodded. —I have told you before, this ball will be a good opportunity. Your Father and I believe you are ready to take tasks that require precision. With that in mind, a retinue is required. You can start now if you wish, but I recommend you wait.—

—I understand, Uncle.— Pangea’s lips trembled, threatening to break into a cheering laughter. —Ifthat’sallI’llbegoinggoodbye!—

Pangea bounced from her seat and ran out of the study. Diani bowed, then quickly followed behind.

Pangea headed to her room to update her armory. Outside Malcador’s study, the servitor attached to the grav-cart tracked the princess skipping across the palace floor and hopping into the cart’s shotgun seat. Diani walked behind and entered the cart.

“Full throttle to my room, cart!”

The servitor’s eyes lit up. The distorted voice replied. The severed half was connected to the grav-cart, and the top half was missing his pair of arms. The red lenses lodged in the servitor’s eye sockets lit up.

“Compliance.”

The grav-cart’s engine whizzed, then took off the palace floor. The wind whipped her face as the cart whizzed through the palace’s floor. Her heart fluttered in excitement, the vast open grounds of the palace seemed smaller now. A galaxy had opened for her, all for her taking, the glory of the battlefield finally opened to her. Pangea then hopped out of the car and landed on the front door.

“An update in weaponry is due.”

Diani exited the grav-cart once it stopped.

“My lady, I understand your excitement but please behave as a lady.” Diani said. “I’m certain some generals and governors saw you speeding past them.”

Pangea rolled her eyes. “Like I’d care.”

Pangea’s new room was two storied. The first floor consisted of a spacious lounge, kitchen, and a restroom. The second floor contained her room and personal closet and another restroom. The basement vault contained her weapons. Perhaps it was time to get a new armor set and a weapon… But what kind?

Palatine and Godiva.

Palatine’s Adrathic beams, while powerful, were usually unnecessary. A bolter attachment did the same job and if damaged, they were easily replaceable. Adrathic beam weaponry showed her station, but too valuable to use in combat. Pangea placed Palatine against the wall, then held Godiva.

The black body with auramite reinforcement gave a golden shimmer to the black metal. Godiva’s different arrows allowed variety. Net, stun, explosive, and armor piercing arrows. Godiva however was a weapon of patience, lining the shots in a vantage point far from the enemy to maximize Godiva’s effectiveness.

“What lasgun do you use Diani?”

“Kalibrax Pattern Three Lasrifle.” Diani said.

“Hmm. Maybe a lasrifle would be a good choice.” Pangea rubbed her chin.

“Perhaps a customized bolter or a slugger?”

Slugger shot devastating pellets at a high velocity with plenty of varying shells. Semi-auto, pump action, full auto, the slugger offered many types. Now that she thought about her quandary, she never did use firearms. Then again, so did lasguns. Palatine’s ability to be shortened and her psykic powers did enough against her enemies. She never thought about lasguns or stub guns.

“The weapon of the masses sure are fascinating.” Pangea said, she tapped her chin as she stared at her armory. “But what should I get?”

“How about asking your brother?”

“Good idea, but who?”

"Horus, Horus!"

Inside the Vengeful Spirit, Horus held his glass of clear liquid, he warmly smiled as he watched his darling sister run through his throne room. Horus placed his unfinished drink on the side, then left his throne and knelt on the floor. Pangea practically tackle-hugged into Horus who took the blunt force with ease. The wolf cloak on his shoulders tickled her nose as she nuzzled close. Horus wrapped his arms around her small back, always reminding him how fragile his little sister was.

"Guess what happened! Guess what happened!"

Horus chuckled. "I'm sure you'll tell me."

Pangea broke from the hug and jumped. "I'm going to be part of the Great Crusade!"

In brief seconds, his eyes widened, and he brought Pange close in his arms. The small back of hers... to think she would partake in such deadly conflict. A part of him was proud, and his other part was anxious.

"Horus?"

"I'm just glad." Horus released her. "Will you be leading a regiment of your own?"

"Malcador said I'd be doing precision work, so I assume I'd be a supplemental unit." Pangea said. "Nevermind that, I need advice on firearms. I have Palatine and Godvia, but I need something in the middle."

"I think I know the weapons. I will send appropriate weapons to your room."

True to Horus's Cthonian origin, the weapons were plain and compact. A sawn off, pump action slugger, a sturdy lasgun with collapsable stock, various grenades, and many, many knives. A peculiar gift of all was a lightning claw and a power maul, identical to Horus's own except smaller to fit her size.

A gift, in celebration of your joining of the Great Crusade. Use it well.

-Horus

"Oh Horus..." Pangea rolled her eyes and chuckled.

Three months had passed since then. The palace grew busier and Pangea's team already began their patrol. Pangea gotten to know each astartes and their legion's culture. Pangea gotten along well with the Dusk Raiders due to their Albian origins and her relationship with the Albian Crusaders. Imperial Heralds were cordial, bordering on subservience due to their fanatical loyalty to Father. The Pale Nomads of the nineteenth legion and the Night's Children of the eighth legion gave fear more than assurance. Pangea ordered these astartes to...

Even if Pangea can't be a substitute for a primarch, I hope that she can at least leave enough of an impression to help them out in the future.
>>
So the squad was formed. Pangea would have Maal Tusk of the Pale Nomads and Gehara Salar of the Night’s Children as her squadmates. Despite their bulky armors and size, Pangea was always impressed by their ability to stay out of sight. Both Terran born, Pangea had little trouble commanding Maal and Gehara. Pangea knew slavery was part of many worlds under Imperium’s control, and one that could not be easy as removing the problem.

Even so, that did not mean she had to respect their ways.

“Good day, your eminence.”

“Chancellor.” Pangea said.

Pangea patrolled the battlement and the halls surrounding the ballroom. The servants and the official agents bowed as she walked with Diani. What they did not see was two astartes following close. Terra’s light, how did they not see them? Were they psykers? Did the astartes intimidate them into pretending to not see them? Not even Diani noticed their presence.

“I heard the seamstresses and the tailors are booked throughout Terra and neighboring worlds.” Diani said. “Though I doubt they will say no to you, my lady.”

“Since I’ll be looking for a retinue, should I wear ceremonial armor to impress them?”

Diani hummed. “I think a ball dress and ceremonial armor would attract the more noble members more. But I think you should find your retinue who lived a simpler life. People who values practicality without the pomps and frills and knows the people’s heart. Like Captain Leo.”

“Why not have both?” Pangea said.

“Your authority as the princess is enough noble authority, my lady. Having scions and hardy people like myself will definitely have cultural clashes. At least that is my guess, my lady.”

“Hmm…”

Later in the day, Pangea ordered a commission from…

>Gepetto for a formal ball dress and ceremonial armors with options for her to decide later.
>An armorer in a neighboring world, unbeknownst to the armorer he was simply ordered for plain but clean armor.

Later in the day, Pangea ordered a commission from Gepetto for a formal ball dress and ceremonial armors with options for her to decide later. The old man accepted with solemn humbleness. He said he would have plenty of options, which allowed Pangea for some reassurance. Gepetto knew her preference, there was little to worry for her.

What she did worry was the Great Crusade.

Pangea laid on her bed in her night gown, feeling the smooth and soft sylk on her bare skin after a hot bath. Her limbs stretched, and a loopy smile stayed on her lips like a lingering taste of a sweet fruit. A retinue of her own, not for clandestine work but in the galactic theater…

“Eeee!”

Pangea smothered her face with a pillow as her feet kicked the air. Then suddenly, Pangea lifted her face in realization.

A retinue.

What did she need?

Sitting beside a lit candle Pangea dipped her quill into the inkwell and made a list. She’d need a second in command, a pilot, a driver, a company of soldiers… maybe even a full regiment. The possibilities seemed endless. Side by side with her brothers, bringing the light one planet at a time…

Two months before the ball, the palace now teemed with new guests. Those who arrived to take in the sights, and the few privileged guests allowed to stay within the palace. Of course, as Pangea did her patrol with Maal Tusk of the Pale Nomads and Gehara Salar of the Night’s Children, Wilhelm of The Adjudicators and Ezekyle for today. Amongst many guests, Pangea saw the different class of guests.Pangea’s security squad made their ways to the reception hall.

The workers, invited by their skill and heroism, walked around with a slack jaw and wide eyes. The nobles, those with riches and resources to be invited, they hid their amazement with their fat heads and eyes. Then, the in-between, the nobles who made their fame with their own two hands. One of them was Hector and Leo, chatting with a grizzled general she did not see before.

“Your eminence, we are deviating from the current route.” Wilhelm said.

“Just follow my lead, sergeant.” Pangea whispered. “I wish to see the minds of the guests. The custodes will cover the areas.”
Pangea approached…

Unrelated to this, but I think it might be even more fun if you incorporate more randomness/dice rolling to the quest. Like that time when we were traveling the warp and had to choose between a peaceful journey or a daemonic incursion, or when we were dueling Horus.
Have the players roll for the result instead of everything always working out the way we planned.

Madison Quimby was a simple woman.

While she was a noble, her family did not run the world. She hailed from a small rural town where they harvested vegetables for her world’s capital. She saw the world as an Ensign when she was commissioned as part of a mass draft from The Imperium. She saw various civilizations and faunas, but the Imperial Palace?

“Bloody hell.” Henrietta walked behind with a slacked jaw. The golden wings pinned on her chest shined. “Feels like I’m gonna get lost here…”

The entrance’s ceiling stretched to the sky and the hall was wide enough to fit ten thunderhawks. Every inch glittered with ivory and auramite where she wondered if anyone was blinded by its reflecting lights.

“Look forward, ensign.” Lord Admiral Werserian said. “You are the only pilot chosen by your merits alone. You are representing the Imperial Navy.”

“Y—Yes my lord!”

Madison straightened her back and walked side by side with Lord Admiral Werserian. Madison glanced at the famous Hector Werserian and Thermopylae Leo. Hector was the first to serve with the princess, and Leo being a rebel hero who won many glory that he was awarded the Terra’s Star medal, a privilege only few got from The Emperor himself. To think she was worthy enough to be among those heroes…

“And stop looking at them!” Lord Admiral Werserian said with a harsh whisper.

“Y—Yes my lord!”

Then, she saw them. Four astartes, they were real, not just tall tales she would hear from senior officers. Yet, amongst these super human warriors, one small girl caught her eyes. No, not just a girl…

The Imperium of Man Princess.

“Gentlemen, welcome!”

The princess spoke with the officers, exchanging greetings and small talk. The astartes followed her like a pack of dogs of different breeds. By The Emperor she was so enchanting…

“Lord Admiral!”

The stern frown unfolded into a cordial smile, he gave a brief now while Henrietta stood at attention.

“You have grown beautifully, your eminence.”

“And you haven’t aged.”
>>
This was the princess. Who walked with the primarchs. Who took unknown tasks from the Lord Regent himself. Madison expected a woman with sharp features, not a girl with a soft gaze and gentle smile. Was this really the fierce warrior who sparred with the Emperor’s talons? And why were these astartes staring at her so much?

“And this is?”

Henrietta snapped out of her admiration.

“This is Ensign Madison Quimby. She was awarded the Auramite Wings of Valor for her actions at Greco IV for taking down thirteen enemy fighters.”

“Glory to the Imperium!” Madison saluted just a tad loud.

“At ease.” The princess said. “Are you capable of piloting other aircrafts?”

“Y—Yes, I was a Thunderhawk pilot then in various transporters.”

The princess nodded. “I see. I must return to my duties.”

“Of course, until we meet again your eminence.”

Later on, Madison heard she spoke with individuals who were invited because of their talents. Other pilots such as herself in the Imperial Army and Solar Auxilia. Then soldiers, snipers, sappers, even those invited from more unsavory regiments. The rumor already spread of the princess’s head hunting.

Easy to say, the rumors flooded the Imperial Court. Then, another news broke the court. Another son have been found.

Rogal Dorn, the ruling lord of Inwit and its surrounding system. The princess’s apparent recruitment disappeared into the court’s rumor and the Warlord of Inwit arrived two months before the ball. From the court’s gossip, Rogal Dorn was a dour and unsmiling man, frigid like the ice-hives of Inwit.

“Not friendly?”

“No, not exactly.” Fulgrim said. “He is a stoic man, I did invite him but he said his training mattered more with Horus, and his legion. He said so quite bluntly.”

“Where’s Angron?”

Sangunius sipped his tea quietly. His gorgeous white wings remained folded, but they shimmered under the sun’s lightm he wore a gold and white toga to let his wings breathe. Fulgrim’s purple and gold tunic with a golden sash bloomed brighter than the surrounding flower beds and vines of colorful leaves in the garden.

“In the Collegiate with other ambassadors.” Sanguinius said. “Magnus is… well I can’t say where he is. He’s been with his sons lately.”

“I know… he’s been returning to Magnus the moment our patrol ends.” Pangea said with a worried sigh. “Maybe he’s…”

“He’s what?”

Pangea shook her head. “No it’s nothing. So neither of you have met Rogal yet?”

“We did.” Fulgrim said. “A brief greeting, he preferred to train or attend to other duties. I hear he’s asking our dear uncle to patrol the palace with his sons as well.”

“Huh…” Pangea said.

“My lady, we have fifteen minutes.”

“Thank you Diani.” Pangea said. “I’ll see you two later.”

“Don’t forget we have an etiquette lesson, and I will not have you make excuses this time, Pangea.” Fulgrim said pointedly. “And you shouldn’t encourage her behavior as well, Sanguinius.”

The angel chuckled.

“On my honor.”

Pangea hopped off her grav-cart and walked toward the reception area, the meeting point of her squad’s patrol. Other than Maal Tuskand Gehara Salar, an astartes of Sanguinius’s legion and an astartes of the Imperial Fist. Yet, there was one more.

Rogal Dorn.

His stern gaze turned to Pangea.

“Pangea, I am Rogal Dorn. Your…” There was a brief pause, as if tasting the word before swallowing it. “Brother.”

Pangea tasted uncertainty, but no fear or worry. Hope?

“I know, it’s a pleasure meeting you, Rogal.” Pangea smiled. “Would you like to patrol with me?”

“If you will allow it, this is your task.”

Pangea shrugged. “I see no issue with it. Come on.”

Pangea and Rogal walked side by side.

Reliable is an understatement. He's a true believer of the Emperor's vision and will stop at nothing to do whatever task the Emperor set him upon. Personality-wise, he's unyieldingly stubborn, brutally honest, and he kept all his actual emotion pent up to the point where he explode in rage in one of the Horus Heresy book when someone told him a bad news.
He also have a strange fascination with pain as seen with the pain gloves, but I'm not sure if that started during or before the Heresy.

Pangea.

Rogal Dorn was not sure of his little sister. However, he trusted Father’s judgment, if he deemed her important to his cause so was she. Though Rogal wondered, how did she bear a year of danger in such a small body with only her handmaiden and her hound?

“How are you finding Terra?”

“Nothing like inwit. The people of my world are hardy. People here are fat and greedy.”

A struggling chortle escaped her lips. Pangea’s head rolled back as a louder laugh escaped while her handmaiden sighed, she whispered something to her ears then Pangea nodded. The mirth was reined in as Pangea cleared her throat.

“Was there something amusing in my statement?” Rogal said.

“No no, it’s just that I’ve never heard it so bluntly.” Pangea said. “I assure you. While there are those who are as such, not all are like them.”

“We will see.”

Pangea and Rogal turned the corner. She noticed his eyes always forward and his steps stalwart. Unlike Fulgrim or Angron, Rogal was blunt and stoic, an inscrutable wall yet naked. Pangea found comfort at his side, then again, she did so with all her brothers. Rogal would be too, she hoped. Not like Rackham and his religious fervor. She hoped he’d be fixed.

“Sister!”

Speaking of… Pangea swallowed her urge to roll her eyes. Rackham and his abhuman wife arrived. Strangely, she did not see an honor guard or any of his sons.

“You must be our new brother. I am Rackham. Maker’s blessing upon you and to you sister..”

Pangea sighed. She did not see a change in Rogal’s expression.

“Brother, we already talked about this, you shouldn't bring up your faith. Rogal, this is our brother Rackham of the Second Legion, he has strange beliefs but he means well.”

Like ceramite, Rogal’s visage did not change.

“Yes, I’ve heard from Father. You call yourself War Saint.” Rogal said.

“I am a War Saint, for I have led my people under the Maker’s blessing. As we all are.” Rackham said, smiling politely. “I understand the way of my people are—”

“Against The Imperium, against Father.” Rogal said.

Like ceramite, Rogal’s visage did not change. Pangea wondered if he ever smiled. The air suddenly tightened. Two giants of equal heights stared down. Pangea watched the scene unfold, she watched the Imperial Fist walk next to Rogal. Pangea continued to watch, she adjusted her grip on Palatine.

“All I do is for The Imperium and The Maker.”

“You betray the very core belief of The Imperium with your delusion.” Rogal walked past.

“Delusion? You dare—”

“Enough.”

>“Rogal, I understand how Rackham’s belief are detrimental to The Imperium, but this isn’t how we speak to our family. We are both created by our Father, The Emperor, to bring humanity to our rightful place in the galaxy. What message would this show?”
>“Rackham, if you don’t want to be offended, I suggest you either keep your belief to yourself or change. Rogal is right, we are founded on clarity of logic and science, not by superstitious religion that killed so many.”

“I’ll see you at another time, brother.” Pangea emphasized the word. “Hystera.”

Walking side by side with Rogal once more, Pangea knew his words, while true, were blunt. Yet, knowing his future and his loyalty, his vision was one of the least painful she had witnessed. Rogal was stalwart and persevering in the darkest of hours, a true defender of Terra. Though his end was… something even she could not be sure of. The patrol between Rogal and Pangea was silent, even with the onlookers. The patrol ended. The sun began to dip toward the horizon, and the astartes dispersed after their dismissal.

>“Would you like to patrol with me again? I wouldn’t mind having someone as reliable as you are.”
>“Rogal, you need to be kinder with your brothers. Even if you find them unwanting. We’re a family.”

It might be disgusting to Dorn that one of his brothers might hold such backwards beliefs, but he has a duty to all potential members of the Imperium to bring them into the fold. This is doubly true with Rackham for several reasons:

From a pragmatic standpoint, Rackham is a Primarch. If we just let him stew in his wrongness without sincere attempts to show him a better way, that's at best a massive waste of potential for both Big E and the Imperium. Up-front challenges to his faith will only calcify his awkward beliefs. But showing him that he also has a caring family in the Imperium could potentially win him over, or at least serve the Imperium so that his people could eventually find a niche in it.

Also, Rackham is family. Aside from the usual stuff about needing family to stick together and watch each other's backs, this means that Rackham is Big E's flesh and blood (or at least perceived as such). If we cannot convert one such as he, then that indirectly shows that both Big E and his plan are flawed and are corruptible. I don't think I need to explain why this would be a bad for everyone involved, Rackham least of all.

On another note, I am unsure why we can't just reshape Rackham's faith to be more Emperor-friendly. If Big E can make concessions to the Adeptus Mechanicus to win over their production facilities, surely he can tolerate framing Rackham's zealotry in a certain light.

If we go by BL lore, the Emperor may see some of the Primarchs as disposable and don't feel the need to compromise with them, meanwhile the Mechanicus control several important pieces of tech that's vital to the survival of the Imperium. Same reason why he negotiated and accepted the Navigator houses, they're too important for the Imperium.
Hell, Lorgar's faith was nothing but positive for the Imperium and the Great Crusade and the Emperor still tries to burn it to the ground.

I imagined these points as more of what Pangea might mention when talking to Dorn after excusing themselves from Rackham. I wanted to include more points about how Rackham’s unfortunate living situation shaped him to be how he is and all that, but I’m admittedly unfamiliar with Dorn except from stuff from secondhand accounts from other media. I wasn’t sure if appealing to his empathy would’ve worked, so I mainly argued from practical standpoints and in the context of Big E’s plans and such.

“Rogal, I understand how Rackham’s belief are detrimental to The Imperium, but this isn’t how we speak to our family. We are both created by our Father, The Emperor, to bring humanity to our rightful place in the galaxy. What message would this show?”

“It will show The Imperium does not make exceptions, not even the primarchs. You stand without your sons, even they do not support you.”

Rackham’s face twisted, his nose wrinkled as his lips pulled back into a scowling snarl. The power armors quietly whirled as Rackham took another step forward, standing face to face. The passing onlookers quickly escaped the area, even Diani took steps back before the titans clashed.

“Rogal, we have a patrol to be in, remember? I’ll see you at the ball, Rackham.”

He walked past Rackham, Pangea gave a quick wave to Hystera on the way.

The patrol ended at the other side of the ballroom, where the rest of the inner palace below could be seen. The countless spires and domes made of auramite and white ivorcemite glistened under the warm orange setting sun. No matter how many time she would see the inner palace, the view certainly made an impact. Pangea gave a quick glance at Rogal, the amber light shone on his square jawed face, and brightened his bone white hair. His sharp determined eyes gazed outside.

“Beautiful, isn’t it?”

Rogal turned around, he broke his gaze off to see Pangea.

“It reminds me of our duty.”

“It does, and one of our duty is to bring new citizens into the Imperium’s fold. Rogal, you need to be kinder with your brothers. Even if you find them unwanting. We’re a family.”

“We are related by blood, but not brothers. Especially a primarch who betrays Father’s belief.”

Pangea held her reaction. This was expected, after all, every primarch grew and was molded by their environment.

>“Well, can you at least try to understand him, please?” Pangea made her eyes bigger, and weaponized her ‘little sister’ privilege.
>“Well, just try to avoid making him angry, please?” Pangea made her eyes bigger, and weaponized her ‘little sister’ privilege.

>"Each of us have Father's blood running through our veins, and thus a part of his potential for greatness. But not all of us have had the fortune of being raised by decent men who were aligned with Father's vision. Can you imagine how different Angron might have been if we had found him with dozens of Butcher's Nails driven into his skull instead of just the one? Even then, rescuing him from that fate was a close thing."

>"Rackham is in a similar position, and his potential will wasted if we do not at least try to understand how he became the way he is. Naked aggression and challenges to his faith will only deepen his misguided resolve. To that end, I would implore you to work with our brothers and I to see how we can set him upon the right path, or to at least prevent him from straying too far from Father's vision. If not for the sake of the brother that Rackham could become, then do so for Father's sake, so that he can be spared the grief of having to stand against his own flesh and blood."

I imagine that Pangea would be recommending that Rogal work with Horus, Angron and Sanguinius since Fulgrim and Magnus seemed to have largely washed their hands of the matter. Though Rogal is blunt to a fault, I believe that his honest efforts and assessments would help the rest of the socially adept and empathetic Primarchs reach an understanding with Rackham. If anyone else has any other points to contribute or angles to consider, feel free to add them in.

But not all of us have had the fortune of being raised by decent men who were aligned with Father's vision. Can you imagine how different Angron might have been if we were too late?” Pangea shuddered. “

“Angron is different.” Rogal said.

Pangea gently lifted Rogal’s hand and held with both of her hands. This, large gauntlet, hands made for war… Pangea knew there was kindness in Rogal. As much as she was happy with Rogal’s stalwart (almost stubborn) loyalty to The Imperium, a little flexibility would not hurt him. Pangea saw the sun slowly setting.

“Will you follow me to the garden? Our patrol is done but I still want to talk to you.”

“If the patrol is over…” Rogal saw the hopeful eyes glistening. “As long as it pertains to our duty.”

Pangea took Rogal to the battlement where Alpharius and Pangea would meet. The whole of Inner Palace and Outer Palace glistened like stars.

“Rogal, Rackham and his potential will be wasted if we do not at least try to understand how he became the way he is. Naked aggression and challenges to his faith will only deepen his misguided resolve.”

There was a quiet scowl, a stubbornness that Pangea saw the same with Rackham. Pangea tasted frustration and confusion. Then… a presence, Alpharius. Pangea shook his presence out of her mind so far.

“All I ask is for you to work with our brothers and I to see how we can set him upon the right path, or to at least prevent him from straying too far from Father's vision. If not for the sake of our brother, for Father’s sake. I don’t want to see him standing against his own son. Please?”

Rogal stared down, unflinching at Pangea’s plea.

“I will consider it.” Rogal said dully. “Good night, sister.”

“Good night Rogal.”

Pangea waited at the battlement, she saw Alpharius arrive in an Imperial Fist power armor.

“Evening, brother. Did you need something?” Pangea said.

“No, I just wanted to know how you are doing. We rarely have time to spend time together.” Alpharius said.

“True, ever since our brothers has been reuniting we rarely have time. That and Father’s insistence on keeping you a secret.” Pangea said. “I wish you are with us.”

“It’s necessary I remain in the shadows.” Alpharius said.

Pangea sighed.

“I know I know.”

After another month, Pangea finally arrived at Gepetto’s workshop as soon as she heard of his completion. Mannequins stood in a long line, dressed in ceremonial armor and dresses.

“That’s more than I thought…” Diani said.

“You got that right.” Pangea said.

“What do you have in mind, princess?” Gepetto said. “I’m sure there is at least one that will suit your preference.”

Pangea eyed the…

Pangea eyed the white toga with golden accents and golden sash on the hips, along with a golden laurel for her head and intricately etched vambraces. While not flashy as the other dresses, the toga still had its own plain kind of beauty. The white fabric and dark skin contrasted in the best way possible, much like The Emperor himself.

“Oh, and do you have anything for Diani?”

“Of course.”

Diani’s eyes widened.

“You commissioned a dress for me as well?”

“Of course I did, come on I want to see you try these yourself.”

At the end of her shift. Pangea wandered the palace grounds. Now that the ball was only two weeks away, she saw more faces. With the help of simpler clothes and psykic mirage, Pangea managed to melt into the crowd. Pangea first spotted Henrietta Quimby with her shining badge conversing with Hector and Leo. Henrietta’s record proved enough that she was qualified, though she did see there was another pilot in the list.

Jack Valk.

A Pengal Legion pilot caught due to cold trading in Terra of all places. Despite the stain as a Penal Legion pilot, his accomplishment netted him the same award as Henrietta, with a denser knowledge in xeno tech. Jack wandered alone with his hands in his pockets.

“This place sure is big…”

Pange saw plenty more lost on their own. While she had her own candidates for her second in command, she lacked what Horus called a point squad, three men that only specialized in combat. Specifically, a long range specialist, close range specialist, and mid range specialist, though that itself required more than simple conversations. Pangea continued to inspect the candidates at her own pace in a leisurely night.

“We’re so close to the ball, can’t you feel it princess?”

The loud gathering clamored in every corner of the palace. Pangea and her security team attracted far more attention than she’d like, and everywhere she went people tend to follow her up until the Sanctum Imperialis Principa, the heart of the Sactum Imperilis where only few privileged could enter. There, The Chambers of Auspicious Conquerors was ahead. Pangea knew going to a ball alone would mean being a bait for opportunistic parasites which would make her scouting difficult. That was why Pangea would ask…

>>
That was why Pangea would ask…

Fulgrim.

The choice felt natural since it was him that drilled the etiquette lessons. Fulgrrim easily accepted of course, and offered an honor guard when she would arrive at the ball which Pangea could agree to, not when her brothers found out Fulgrim was his escort they offered their sons for her honor guards.

“Do you take joy in the ball, princess?” Gehara said.

“Hardly, but I know it’s necessary. I feel more familiar guarding the palace than this.” Pangea said.

The morning of the ball consisted of a social gathering outside of the ballroom. Lords and ladies dressed in their morning finest at the outdoor palace grounds, where they could see the outer palace and the snow capped mountains at the other side, not that the attendees cared for it. No, people were too eager to make connections, brown nose, and calculate to gain more power.

“The princess…”

“What strange armor colors.”

Pangea armor was a slimmer power armor with a golden paint for her arm and a white pauldron. The rest of her armor was red with dark bronze accents with her hair in a long braid. Pangea always wore dark blue eyeliner and lipsticks, an unknown representation of her bond with Alpharius.

-How’s your patrol, Alpharius?- Pangea sent a telepathic message.

-All is well, no need to be concerned, Pangea.-

-I wish you would be there for the ball, you should be there too.-

-I will be. Don’t you worry. Try not to make it obvious.- Alpharius said with a teasing tone.

Pangea chuckled.

-Jerk.-

Pangea continued her patrol, she scanned the attendees thoughts and emotions. None returned with a concern, but one. A ravenous hatred so venomous, so full of vengeance, and so… ancient. Pangea tried to glimpse further, almost drawn into the deep memory that spanned for millenia. Pangea looked deeper as she searched for the mysterious stranger. The further she searched, the more she—

SNAP

A psychic strike whipped her out of the mind.

-Hello, Pangea. We finally meet.-

Pangea placed a barrier of her mind along with the astartes around her then warned Alpharius.

Pangea chose to reply, she needed more time to find the stranger as she patrolled the area. Pangea sent a quick mental message to her team to act naturally until she has given the command. Among the sea of roaring laughters and people, Pangea squinted her mind harder to find the elusive stranger that melted well within the crowd.

-Who are you?-

-I am your mother.-

-I have no mother.- Pangea snapped back, her mind slithered around the crowd, searching.

-Really child, do you truly believe you were only created with your father’s genes?- The woman laughed. -He really has indoctrinated you-

Past Jack Valk and three decorated soldiers, one being an ogryn and another short abhuman. Ratlings, if Pangea recalled correctly, they were the best snipers there were. The second human was a normal man, light skin, brown eyes, black hair, almost too average but with more medals than the Valk and the two abhumans combined.

-My name is Amar Astarte.-

Through Leo, Henrietta, and Hector were another three soldiers dressed clean and proper. They seemed comfortable in such an environment with servants in tow.

-I didn’t ask for your name- Pangea hissed. -You are a witch, an old witch, one that betrayed Father.-

-You have seen only the surface, my daughter. If you have seen what I have seen, you to will understand. Meet me at the entrance of the Boeotia’s undercity.-

Boeotia was a former empire that stubbornly held their power through diplomacy that ended in a cruel massacre that ended in a mass suicide near the end of the siege. Of all place in Terra, Boeotia was considered the most squalor hive.

-Do you think I’ll fall for a trap like that?-

-There is no trap. And if you wish to be blind then that is your choice, my daughter-

The trace Pangea have been following disappeared, as if it never existed. Pangea knew the death of this witch would bring glory in her name. Bringing her corpse, a traitor’s corpse, as a gift to Father would make this the perfect entry into the Great Crusade. Pangea…

Even without requesting an escort, Pangea can still report something is amiss to Alpharius so he can continue to secure the ball right? I wouldn't want to just say "Later, losers. Lol."

I dunno... the Emperor may be a fedora-tipping redditor at the moment, but that doesn't mean collaborating with people who work for Chaos Demons is an acceptable alternative.

Folding Erda's character into Amar Astarte's is an interesting choice considering the scattering of the primarchs was the catalyst for Astarte's own betrayal. I'm guessing then that Chaos did the scattering like in older lore which drove Astarte to try and destroy her work like in new lore. Which would still be ten times better than Erda having a woman moment and yeeting her beloved sons into the pits of hell to spite their father. You probably could've just changed Erda's lore to make her less stupid, honestly.

>>6149502
Depends on how retarded she is.
>>
>>6149502
I'm definitely for killing her if she turns out like another Erda.

Yeah, I did think about having Erda on, but I remember how overwhelming a "No" that was. So, I did some digging and found Amar Astarte. They do seem pretty similar so I thought, why not combine both?

Pangea would skip the ball, and head out alone. The Sanctum Imperialis Principa was quiet compared to the palace’s ballroom. Pangea exited her room and cloaked herself in a red hooded robe with black carapace armor underneath, armed with various tools, two bolt pistols and two monomolecular combat knives. Carrying Palatine or Godiva outside would be near impossible. Living in the Imperial Palace meant knowing all the secret shortcuts and passageways. Pangea made her way to the small port nearby an administratum building mostly used for dropping off parchment.

“You there, pilot.”

“Huh, whaddaya— “

Pangea slipped past the pilot’s line of sight and wrapped her arms around his throat. The pilot flailed but his mortal strength did not match Pangea’s hold. Pangea set the pilot down gently and took the arvus lighter.

Boeotia. Bloodiest wasteland on Terra.

Pangea landed her cargo ship a mile from the hive and walked through the desolate land. The night sky had fallen, and the moon hid behind a murky gray clouds. In front of the black and rusted metal gates. Pangea stood face to face with Amar.

“Daughter.”

“Don’t call me that. I know what you have done against Father. Traitor. I don’t know why you have chosen to show me your memories, but I will not hear what you have to say.”

Amar removed her hood. Pangea, try as she might, let her surprise leak from ehr widened eyes and parted lips. This woman, Amar Astarte, resembled so close to her own visage. Brown eyes, black hair, dark skin, sharp nose… Astarte could pass as her sister if she wanted to.

“If you did not come to hear what I have to say, then I wonder why you have arrived here in the first place.” Astarte said.

>“Because I’m here to take you down.” Pangea leapt to attack.
>“Just tell me why you returned.”

Last day of my PTO, will update tomorrow

Question: Who do you think can be Pangea's big sister or mother role model? Do you think she needs one?
>>
>>6150882
I dunno any big name women besides the captain from the world eaters. having one would help her, but dunno if it's exactly needed.
>>
>>6150882
The only woman that managed to raise a semi-normal primarch was Girlyman's mom, so she might be nice to know. I don't think Pangea need a mother role model, though, she's doing fine as is with Uncle raising her.
>>
>>6150882
I don't think having one would be good. It's kind of the whole reason of why having her exist would impact the primarchs and the emperor so much. It makes more sense for her to struggle due to lack of role model.
>>
>>6150882
Need one? Probably not but if you want to introduce a female mentor figure then i would suggest one of the sisters of silence as a good choice.

[Lore Break Warning]

“Just tell me why you returned.”

The fierce hatred in her daughter’s eyes struck. Despite the emanating anger, Amar maintained her stalwart visage. She took a step forward, and Pangea took a step bak as her hands remained on her sides. Amar stared into Pangea’s round eyes so similar to her own, but with its own sharpness that was clearly from Neoth.

“I’ve come to save you and humanity.”

Pangea scoffed with a twisted scowl.

“Funny words for a traitor.” Pangea said. “You were there at the palace coup, if you think I’m going to trust you because you reveal your treacheries you’re wrong.”

“I… I’ve come to make amends.” Amar said.

Amar unclasped her robe, revealing a mature figure dressed in sleek armor with pouches and weapons radiating imbued psykic powers. The armor was not sleek, but battered with dents and holes. Amar’s eyes glowed, her soft psychic touched showed Pangea a glimpse once she accepted the Amar’s reach.

“I was blinded.”

Pangea saw Amar’s anger at Mount Ararat, how her Thunder Warriors were slaughtered not by the enemies but by The Emperor. Then, at a laboratory she saw the astartes. Pangea felt the deep fear that like the Thunder Warriors, the astartes would be wiped out… Pangea saw the trust faltering but determination.

“I still trusted your father.” Amar said.

Then, Pangea saw twenty infants. Each were held in her arms. The warmth of her love soothed Pangea’s hostility for a moment. The smile on Amar was never seen from Father, they were always well performed and lacked humanity.

“Then, I discovered what he did, and why your brothers were scattered.”

A great warping purple miasma broke into the laboratory and in one swift gup, her brothers disappeared. Pangea saw Amar and Father arguing, though their words were muffled.

“Your Father struck a deal with Chaos to create your brothers. That fool tried to barter with evil itself!” Amar said. “They were lost, and when I learned this my compatriots who also knew the truth no longer trusted your Father.”

The Palace Coup consisted of various Imperial Army soldiers and mercenaries, with machines of war from the smallest tanks to Dark Age tanks. Yet… they were no match for Father and the custodes. The last image had been Amar, wounded and escaping Terra on her own.

“I have laid my heart, to show you I mean to atone. I just…” Amar said with a long sigh, then extended her hand. “I need your help, Pangea. Will you bring me to your Father?”

“Why can’t you go by yourself?”

“I will be killed, but with you I may have a chance.”

>“You had your chance.” Pangea drew her bolt pistol and knife. “I won’t endanger Father.”
>Pangea turned around. “I’ll take you to the palace and inform Father, what he does after is up to him.

So it's chaos that stole the Primarchs away like in the old lore?
She couldn't defeat Father before, there's no chance she could even scratch him now with the Primarchs around.

I'm inclined to agree, she'd need some kind of 300IQ 5D chess strategy to accomplish anything if she attempts perfidy right now.

I do not think she can take out the Emperor and i am curios about where this leads

>>6151582
>So it's chaos that stole the Primarchs away like in the old lore?

Yes, Erda/Astarte is a tricky thing to handle. But one thing is for sure, Erda yeeting her children is fucking ridiculous. Having Emps dealing with Chaos Gods then getting hoodwinked makes more sense and it humanizes him a bit, he's not omnipotent after all.

Mount Ararat + No Primarch So Astartes Project Is Doomed + Chaos Did This + Emps Made A Stupid Deal Revealed = Palace Coup.

Letting her anywhere inside would be Magnus level stupidity for numerous reasons.

I admit, I don't like where this qst went in terms of quality. I'll be taking some time off to make the next qst better and much more structuralized. I'll see you anons soon.
