Chanting. Glory-hungry cries from warriors, warlords, mutants, chiefs, outcasts, beasts. “Gorz! Gorz!” clashes with “Thrak! Thrak!” As two hulking brutes emerge from the lines of chanting warriors. “I’ll eat you!” Yells Thrak. Gorz can’t speak, so he throws a spear at Thrak. Then he throws himself at Thrak.
A flurry of blows, parried and dodged are exchanged, blade-tips touch the skin, slice it open in short, quick cuts, muscles deform, no longer connected, blood gushes, scars are earned. The two fighters disengage to look their foes over. This time, Thrak takes a dart from his belt and throws it, not at Gorz’s chest or head, but at his foot. Gorz lowers his piercing gaze from his foe, jerking his leg aside, but it’s too late. His foe already lunged forwards, the short blade of his sword jutting out ahead. The two warriors slam into eachother, Thrak desperately twisting and trying to jerk his blade free of his foe, while Gorz claws and flails at his killer. A blow to the side of the head. A cut at the ribs. Rending claws drawing blood from the back. A final bite, caught by the arm, rather than the neck.
Then, the thrashing dies down. And Thrak arises, bloody. Jerking his blade from the corpse, he chops down at it. Four blows later, he jerks the head free of the body, raising it up.
“Glory to the dark gods!”
A moment later, thousands of throats in dozens of languages echo the shout, including the small clique of warlords standing atop a boulder and observing the festival.
“Ostrosk this year?” One man asks.
A chorus of aye’s, yes’ and yeah’s follows, with a single female voice amongst them.
“Great things shall happen.” The female voice continues. “And you lot shall bring it forth.”

Welcome! This will probably be the final, or the second to final thread regarding the quest “Warlords of Chaos”. As previously, Rules will be presented in the attached comment. Returning warlords and new ones are welcome to re-join the hosts of chaos as they march southwards towards Ostrosk and beyond, to plunder the lands of Kislev.
The rules are, as previous, presented on the image.
Any returning warlords, please, reply to this post with your name and title and please list your units and any bonuses applied to them. If you have leftover loot, I recommend spending it, as this will most likely be the last raid.
Any new warlords, please, reply to the post below.

So, first of all, everyone in here who wants to participate will need to do a few things:
>Use some method of identification
Be it a tripcode, a name, or something, I will need a way to tell who you are, as this will potentially last for multiple threads and as there are multiple players.
>Create your warlord
I’ll need a name and a origin, which can for now only be a Hung, a Kurgan, a Norscan or a Beastman.
And, of course, if you desire, for a bit of flavour, a description (if you wish, you can go pretty OC donut steal, as chaos heroes usually are).
>Pick your army
Each player will start with 80 loot that they can purchase units with to represent their starting armies.

Hangar's Riders:
8 x Units of Chaos Knights
1 x 'Widowmaker' in Chaos Chariot

Seasoned Veterans of many a year, some of many an age; one an algamation of many bodies and many ages. And young riders with barely a year of war beneath them, their heavy armour near fresh from the forges of Zharr and won upon a tide of Goblin-Blood. Each are eightblessed upon their flesh as they pass by the processional; with Crimson Shade and Viper Root, With Sow-boil's pus and Maggot Wrap-Seepage, With Blood and Marrow, with Compound potion and Fire-oil. Annointed in the sights of the four as the riders make ready for the season ahead.

Hangar; Zar of the Hastlings, bellows to his warriors of the victories to come; his moustaches spread to both sides and clad in metoric iron; bedecked with runes and wraps and icons. The assembly of moustache creaks at his every movement, the structure of the matted hair now seeming to writhe and to whisper with every breath that passes in simple announcement.

"Onward. To Ostrosk."

Good to see you QM. Glad to be back.

The Claws of Shaarnor:
3 Warbeasts of the North
2 Bondsmen
1 Chaos Warrior

52 loot left unspent, however 5 was sent to Krantagarh, leaving me at 47. I had retired to the lands of the Hung, so that is where I can only recruit from.
Also, there's still 2 CW and 2 Hung Savages that need to be split up between me, Mulrog, and Sarrick.

Furthermore, considering this might be the last raid/battle, I will have a letter sent to that Druchii and let him know that I won't be able to deliver slaves this year. If I survive, then we can resume our deal later.

Speaking of which, we all need to decide on what we are actually doing.
It seems agreed that we are taking Ostrosk no matter what. All that remains is to decide on whether we trust The Feathered one enough to return her sister to her for a mere 60 wealth, or if we keep the sister at Ivanoslav until the gods deem her not a threat.

A warm welcome back for the veterans of the previous raids, let's give the rest a day more to appear before I plop down the deployment map. I'm going to try to make this one a brutal engagement and force you to struggle some more than the last time you played.

Also, I have to say, I keep getting the "Error: Our system thinks your post is spam. Please reformat and try again." when I try to reply to multiple people and I don't know how to fix it.

You are in time. Got about another 12 hours or so till deployment starts. Get your beastmen in a ball and start recruiting if you havent already done that. Then giant ball of hate to roll over everything in your way

While that condition is kinda true. I am someone else here
>>
>>6107253
I hope Sarrick manages to make it back in time for deployment, but if not, then should we just split the 2 CW and 2 Savages 50/50?
>>
>>6107352
if he does not make it then sure. otherwise i would be okay with two units of savages and you each taking one CW?

Or what arrangement would be agreeable to you?
>>
>>6107355
Hmmm, if he doesn't make it, then we can have it where we each get 1 CW and 1 unit of Savages. That way it's exactly the same.

If Sarrick returns, and you want the two Savages, then I'd be willing to throw some extra loot your way since hung CW cost 22 whilst the two Savages have a combined value of 16. If me and him help split the difference, then that combined with the two unspent loot you still have might be enough for you to get an extra unit of something cheap.
>>
>>6107362
with 6 additional loot i could get a unit of Bearserkers then due to gettting a slight discount, being involved in the new Baersonling Goverments rise and all.

The time has come and the columns set off. Warlords that are ready and act quick can set themselves up the best for a quick and decisive stroke towards Ostrosk. The ones that turn up late shall curse their own sloppyness.
For now, the land of Kislev shall suffer under the Norse and Kurgan and Hung and beastman marauders, their torches lit up and carried overhead in the dark nights as they march ever onwards, ready to slay, plunder, rape, raze, despoil and please their gods.

I will spend 44 of my 47 loot on two units of Chaos Warriors. That combined with the interim reward from last thread should make my army look like:
3 Warbeasts of the North, 4 Chaos Warriors, 2 Bondsmen, and 1 unit of Hung Savages.

Here's my deployment for turn one. I'll probably go up and around so that my forces can flank and attack from the north.
>>
>>6106957
i would not mind some Beastman support down south in the woods if you can spare it.

>>6107530

Who can deploy from Troll country, exactly? Looking at the earlier cross-map, Ivan's route to Ostrock is virtually plains all the way, and crosses less rivers then all but the most circuitous of alternate routes, so probably better suited to my riders then the hills and forests encountered when coming in from the other direction. But at the same time, I don't think I'd have the capacity in lore to deploy there?
>>
>>6107923

Anyone who has the same number or more norscan units than non norscan units. If some arrangement can be made with other players to get there, then anyone else can deploy there aswell.

>>
>>6108059
No problem, I will.
>>
>>6107930
Ah, yeah. Then I definitely can't go there with my 100% Kurgan force. I don't even think that Ivan can deploy there either, given that he's mostly Melniboneans and Cataphracts.

>>6107932
Mulrog's over half Norse now, though, so pretty sure he can move there if he wants to. How is your considering leaning?
>>
>>6108148
Probably not, now that you bring it up. I do have good relations with the King of the Sarls though, so there is a justification there. Mulrog yoinked my original deployment plan due to my image posting issues.
>>
>>6108148
I think i could move across Troll country even with such a heavy infantry force. If i move swiftly across the plaines i should be able to avoid large losses.

>>6108152
I can redeploy. Maybe help with getting some boats for you if you want to.

How many would you need to get up there?
>>
>>6108062
Can i get the discount for renting boats? If so i could get some money from the other warlords to spend on boats to ferry units across
>>
>>6108197
>>6108201
The Fimir are amphibious, & my Ulfhednar are shipbuilders & sailors, thus they can take carry another warband. I would need 8 ships. What price would you ask of me, Zar of the Kul?
>>
>>6106288
Does my discount in norse lands apply to hiring boats? Wo i can get wm for 1 loot instead of 2?

>>6108239
If i get the discount mostly just the asking price. And combined protection for the infantry while crossing the plains. My Chaos Warriors will be relatively slow sadly
>>
>>6108481
Sure, why not?
>>
>>6108239
you need to have transported 7 units far as i can tell since the wolves can transport one extra and the Fimir dont need transportation.

i got 11 norscan units and 10 non norscan units.

with Lanus blessing that would be 6 loot to hire boats for me. i can carry one of your units on one of my only unoccupied longboats

>>6107362
>>6106957

>>
>>6108531
otherwise i could offer some of my Norscan units to ferry you across. you would have to command them though. and all losses would require compensation. And they would be overseen by Algal, a minor Chaos Hero from my Army.

Thralls, Bondsmen, Huscarl,5 bearserkers and 3 hired boats

Then i still have two units of Chaos Warriors. a Unit of Bearsekers, Hung Savages, Skin Wolves as well as my cavalery detachment.
>>
>>6108538
>>6108531
I got 12 wealth, I’d be happy to give it to you in exchange for something down the line

Dissapointed that his good friend, the brazen skull Korthak is not with us in this campaign yet, Magor opts to deploy alongside the mighty Chaos Lord Mulrog.

>Mind if I ask Widowmaker's stats before I make use of him?
Widowmaker is counted as cavalry with HP 7, D 2 and M 3. Low initiative, but a very tanky unit.

>>6109825
Fimir are HP 2 and M 2, which gives them a initiative of 0. Strelsy are HP 2 M 3, giving them a initiative of 1, meaning the Strelsy get the first shot.

From the north to the south:

The clashes of the berserkers, the bravest and most gifted of the warriors, with the Sarl defenders of Holmstein leave few berserkers dead after the column of bondsmen gets ambushed by Bearsonlings leaping from the woods either side of forest trail. A pile of skulls is left where the panicked warriors met their grizzly end.
And oddly, it seems a village far in the north-east is aflame. A ex merchant says that should be Skraevold.

The warriors of both Ivan and Mulrog are reluctant to charge the dead.

A great clash is preparing as warriors of both sides amass in a line, thousands ready to march to their deaths. Regiments are amassing, banners and flags wave across the horizons and horns and drums sound.

A charge by the berserkers brings down a group of strelsy before a single shot can be fired. The hill is now under norse control.

Kzarla-Svedora direction:

Rare is the sight of 600 chaos warriors charging across the river into gunfire and arrows. Some are left behind, but as soon as the two lines connect, the river runs red with blood as the air, already choked with smoke, gets filled with screams. Few sons of Kislev flee back to their homeland.
The river now carries 150 chaos warriors and 8 times that many kislevites.

Praag direction:

A vicious charge of the chaos knights quickly after their emergence from the Dukhlys forests leaves the defenders of the nameless settlement easy prey to the knights. Yet their offensive is not without cost, as three Kislevite druzhina rotas charge the flanks of the warriors and pay a heavy price for the losses they inflict to their foes. Charges and countercharges, the best sons of Kislev and the best knights of the north leave many dead as lances are crossed and steeds and their riders murdered.

In the south, the ungortide slams forwards, killing kislevites at steep prices and driving them from the hills, thousands laying dead at its base. A vicious charge at a steep price for little gain.

"Khezin Bring me the Head of whoever leads those undead"
Growling with suppressed fury Mulrog addresses one of his Lieutenants who promptly rides off to his men, seeking to do his masters bidding.

The Skinwolves feel the chains around their souls tightening as they and the Bersekers are thrown into battle maddened frenzy. Shouting, howling and screaming towards the undead settlement.

Mulrog and Ivan's Troll country push:

In the north, the berserkers have cleared out Holmstein of its Sarl defenders and put the town to the torch. Yet of interest are the two new plumes of smoke arising to the north east. "Thorshafn." The ex-merchant says. "Must be a big warband."

The ancient dead Aponnians put up a good fight. Their weapons made of cursed gold cleave at skinwolves, killing many, maiming the rest. Yet, repeated charges drive the ancient defenders of their city which, considering it's age, might predate the sea of claws and the beastmen. The dead are eventually put back to rest, but they drag many of yours with you. And the ropsman was right. The gold is certainly cursed, as the first horseman who lays his hands on the piles of gold can attest, watching in horror as his limb withers away, followed by the rest of him.

The clash to the south is a bloody one and more damningly, a indecisive one, as neither side crushes nor routs the other. Yet, at the end, the Ungols will be the ones who draw the thick end of the beating stick, as their lines are the ones with more empty slots.

damn. would have liked to have them for the push into our main city. this is gonna be expensive to replace.but at least it didnt happen to my chaos knights. can we just burn that cursed city to the ground without touching the gold? i mean even more to the ground. or would that need siege engines

Anyway movement.i beleive if we wanna take that hillcity towards the river we will need your infantry Ivan. lots of heavy infantry and stresely.
>>
>>6111965
Your northern berserkers should withdraw to the South & make for the hills, who knows who could be on the warpath to the northeast.

High Zar Ivan, forsaking the cursed gold, searches the city of the dead with his sorcerers at his heels. "Surely something of value must be buried here? Where is a worthy prize? Is that Roppsman among our combined hosts?"

As for the hills, my wolves will flank to strike at their streltsy, then attack from their less defended east (via initiative bonus).
>>
>>6111965
Yeah, the dice selected them to be the ones the Aponnians attacked. As for the gold, you can always just drag it off in carts and wagons after loading it in with shovels.
As for burning the ruins even lower, that'd require pickaxes and shovels. And a lot of time and man-hours. Doable, but has no real good reason to be done..

i was originally thinking stopping them from crossing the river. but your right. i cant block the entire river. just some loot for the road and the bearserkers will have to fall back.

if the horses in the south survive their two possible chances to die then they will move behind your lines Ivan. i can probably support some with Bondsmen and Thralls. They might be able to take some hits from the Kislevit heavy infantry.

There is sound of a horrible and great battle in the north. The Sarls are getting butchered in a great clash of forces. Unless you start running fast and soon, you'll find out whom it is.

Leblaya is cleared out by a vicious charge of the Kurgan. The few kislevites still present in it are no match to the Kurgan and the settlement, built atop a ancient mound is sacked.

Ungalya also falls, following the collapse of the Kislevite lines protecting it. So far, you have paid a steep price for miniscule gains. The Kislevites seem to have prepared themselves for this axis of advance at least. You wonder what awaits further in.

From the north, to the south:

The Aeslings are intent on charging after you in as you retreat. Be it their deep-set hatered of Baresonlings (who make up your berserkers) or simple lust for war, they are intent on shedding your blood.

The forces are preparing themselves for a charge upon the Kislevite fort, Zamak Spayenya. But the hardy garrison promises to pose a hefty challenge. Whichever way it goes, the skull pyramid will be a tall one.

It is the Melniboneans, who finish fording the river and charge at the backs of the Strelsy formation and wipe them out, not the slow Fimir. By the time the skin wolves drag themselves out of the river and the Fimir slumber to, the strelsy have already been roasted and eaten by the Melniboneans. "Tough and chewy." The minotaur herd smashes into the hilltop defenders, taking some losses from gunfire, but crushing the kislevite gunmen.
The kislevite guard bravely holds the hilltop, but it will get overwhelmed by the ungortide, no matter how many it kills.
A quick charge of the chaos knights simply shatters the militia on their shoddy defences. Bravery doesn't beat steel.
A lone lancer can be seen in the distance, far to the south.

i dont think we have the luxury of time to break through them using berserkers. not without that horde bringing up our rears. no idea how many they truly are but i would rather have a river betweeen them and us.

one of my bersekers is gonna die. i will see if they can distract part of the horde. the others will start running southwards. getting into the hills will mean nothing since my enemies likely dont have ANY cavalery.

this would be my proposal for movement. we keep em there somewhat and just leave. they are gonna have other problems than us.

but i am open to discussion

Disappointingly little.
The Aponnians as a people, or maybe as a race, from what you gather now, seem to have been somewhere between dwarf and man in height, yet in build quite different from halflings, being of slender and elegant build.
From the archeology, they seem to be ancient, their buildings seem to incorporate arches, surprisingly few windows and thick walls which do not seem to have been built for protection, but for isolation. The buildings seem to have been built not entirely from the stone neither of the World edge's mountains nor of the Norscan mountains, but in some cases from the stone as far east as the continent of Ulthuan.
But to add to the interest, your soldiers find some ancient dwarven and elven trade goods.
Unfortunately, you aren't able to judge much of the ruins of a massive settlement that existed there far in the past, as the rocks are too scattered and ruins too old for your people to guess much, yet, they seem to vary (according to some norse and kurgan traders) from 50,000 to 350,000. The other interesting thing to note is the relative uniformity of the buildings in places where they're intact enough to gage they're buildings.
As for the weaponry and armour, they seem to have been lamelar chest and limb protection, with a large, full headed helmet with a series of slits for sight, hearing and breathing.

Desecrate the villages in the name of the Serpent! Perhaps the sight and sounds of so much glorious debauchery may entice the enemy knights from the south to attack, luring them into a trap. Desecrate that village by the river too. Meanwhile, all the other forces continue to press onward and clean up the kislevite prey along the river.

The Knights crossing the river surge out of the waters though the village and defenders, ransacking the small settlement on the way. And in their place more Knights and the Monstrous Widowmaker start their crossing. In the west, Knights pull back after the Ungors have passed to tighten up the line, with another unit of Knights starting to cross the river lower down.

Supplementary instructions are issued for Huffud's herd, in case she is too busy feasting on Kiselvite grass to give order to her Minotaurs.

Rue's vanguard of chaos warriors that had crossed the river is now under fierce attack of the strelsy and the kossars. A vicious charge caught them off-guard as they were fording it and they barely managed to shatter the militia, only to be hit again, but this time by concentrated gun-fire. Doom awaits them unless something changes.

The Lynsk is forded, Ramaejk is sacked, it's inhabitants dragged off and a bridgehead established. To the east, the minotaurs are fording the river, while further west, the ungortide is slamming into the suburbs of Praag.

And to the south of them, a large force of kislevite lancers, not the usual rota druzhina assembly, but the elite of the kislevite horsemanship, two thousand of them, stand, lined up and ready to strike.

His heavy Moustaches writhing with a life of their own, Hangar bellows out orders amidst the moments of confusion, adding supplemental instructions to Huffud's herd to keep them moving. He also 'advises' a group of thralls attempting to walk along the river to exit into the space the Minotaurs will be leaving in a ransacked village instead - his Knights need that spot free so they can cross the river themselves; and if they do not get the space then they will carve the Thralls down with their own blades to make the space for their passage. Khorne cares not, and all.

There are also two units that are not going to either the other side of the river or a relatively safe position. His advice to Magor is to have the trailing Ungor turn back toward the hills instead - a least there it will do some damage before being destroyed, and the act would likely take a lancer out of position. For the Thrall on the hills, the advice is to have them hold ground; again they can sell themselves for a cost here, rather then give the lancers leave to ride their group effortlessly down.

Magor agree's with this plan. He had realized the southernmost ungors were essentially knightbait at this point. Better to distract the enemy and leave the others free to make good across the river.

You're just in time!
The charge across the stream costs many warriors their lives, but it is ultimately the bondsmen, more agile and faster in crossing the stream, that draw the strelsy fire and pay the price for their bravery, buying time for the chaos warriors to close in and hack the strelsy to bits.
The hung strike at the kossars, cutting them down. Yet, they themselves are cut down when a reserve band charges them.

We can do the next turn right away.

Now south:

Rue's chaos warriors successfully ford North Lynsk, their hell-cursed armor protecting them from rocks, arrows and javelins flying at them until they can close the gap and hew their way through the Kislevite militiamen.

To the south, Hangars chaos knights ford the same river and clear Kacirk of its brave defenders who put up a similar fight, but are eventually killed off by a uphill charge.

And to the east, Huffud's minotaurs clear out Yetchitch, their great clubs, cudgels, cleavers and steaks destroying the brave militiamen, pulverizing, cleaving limbs, crushing ribcages as the well over a hundred great warbeasts descend down.

And finally, to the south, the veteran beastmen chaos warriors, encased in both chaos and gromril armour, are crossing the Lynsk, when, from the rear, as 500 kislevite horsemen charge down upon them. Gunfire is directed at the veterans, arrows, bolts and javelins impact them, maybe not piercing the thick armours of the bodyguards, but certainly hurting, if not them, then the great Huffud.
Then, the charges directed towards the 200 of Huffuds bodyguards, a wave of Kislevite and horse slams into them, gleaming lance tips penetrates, first dwarven, then dawizhar steel, then mutated flesh.
And then, the steel starts singing, both in kislevite and in beastman hands. Limbs chopped, heads severed, ribs cracked and stomachs opened. And by the end of the last countercharge, 250 of the Kislevs best sons lay dead and a 100 of Huffud's bodyguards, the great cow-beast having recieved a cut along the front left leg.

as for my northern plan the Berserkers are to kill the Infantry in the hills while i plunder that township.

as for Ostrook i would prefer to use infantry to take the castle instead of throwing in and wasting my Heavy Cavalery with 3 and 4 damage. especially if the following horde is willing to pursue us further still.

Alright, we're all finally on the same map. Good job guys.

From the north, the Aeslng armies march through the Fjellsende, but this time, veteran huscarls, not fresh and still green bondsmen.

South of Ostrosk, two lines of Ungols charge the Kurgan cataphracts, the arrows and rapid lancer charges cost many cataphracts their lives, but the Ungols don't get off for free either, as Mulrog's cataphracts charge the flanks of the Ungols and drive many through.

Further south, a already worn down Melnibonean formation is caught unprepared by a rapidly marching strelsy formation. Their guns belch smoke and the rivers of Kislev run red with Melnibonean blood.

Far to the east, thousands lay down their lives to save dozens as thralls and ungors rush down their hills and charge forwards, crushing the Kislevite lancers with their bodies and dulling Kislevite blades with ungor bones. It is a bloodbath of epic proportions.

The sleep is a troubled one, as Ivan, so used to his saddle, fails to fall asleep, despite his exhaustion. Eventually, a hand stirs him.
"Zar?" Someone asks him. "Zar!"
"What?" Ivan asks, roused from his half sleep.
"You were muttering things and shaking." The voice says again.
The sky is pitch black. The other riders are far away, shrouded in dust, smoke or fog. Their silhouettes bobbing up and down. Silent, even the trot of horses falling silent below Ivan's own breathing.
Ivan stretches, his neck and back sore. "What was I muttering?"
The hand reaches for Ivan, grabbing his neck, lifting him out of his saddle. "Something about betraying me." The voice is now the horrifying voice of the armless crow-headed messenger that had begun this quest. A moment later, you realize the hand is not hers, but of a familiar marble figure towering behind her, the figure blotting stars in the sky.
Ivan's shoulder starts itching.
Ivans hands desperately claw at the marble fingers squeezing his neck.
The itch on the shoulder gets stronger.
"Think carefully about betraying chaos for your four gods." She says.
"Ivan!" A Kurgan warrior shouts, shoving Ivan's shoulder.
Suddenly, the world seems awfully bright. The hordes of chaos warriors and kurgan horsemen trotting around.
"Ivan!" The warrior raises his hand to slap Ivan.
"Eno-!" Ivan tries saying but breaks into a rasping cough. A moment later, he continues "Enough."
"Are you fine? Zar?" The warrior begins. "You were choking to death. You turned red, then blue. I barely roused you."
Ivan runs his hand around his neck. It's certainly sore.

tHs is my opinion you can play however you want.

when you put that plate on the warriors i thought you were making a mistake. movement 2 is already slow. slowing that even more makes it molasses. I know that I can get frustrated that some of my best units have only movement 3.

i would have recommended getting some Centigors and giving them the plate since that just drops them to movement 3.

i get the feeling wishing to have super tank and damage. getting that bulk into position is however also important. This game is a lot about positioning. And unless your fighting in the mountains or rat vietnam then the rest of your army will outrun your warriors.

if you cant put the armor on someone else after this raid i would suggest getting Baersonling Reinforcements and start raiding the coasts/ up rivers where the movement of boats can offset your own slow move speed.
>>
>>6123028
>OK hold on a second Lanu, did you factor in the +2D from Stormbringer I had denoted with the grey line on my cataphracts?
Yeah, the +2D cataphracts moved on, the cataphracts that got taken out were a regular variant that had lost 2HP in it's previous engagements.
And they were in the stream, so they didn't get the chance to strike, as that saps them of the initiative.
>I'm pretty sure I'm dead if that unit is taken out...
Oh no, you're not there, you're north-east of there, as Mulrog said.
And even if you were, you'd have scattered, alongside the rest of the survivors of the unit.

Alright my movement. in the north i will have some complex maneuvers to pull off.

The red arrows of the red arrows happens first. the Chaos Knights should strike second since the huscarls would be in a city. however since the Bersekers in orange will move below there they will strike beforehand and allow the Knights to move northward and wipe out the upper unit.

Mullrogs Knights will make sure that the other Huscarls Unit next to the new placement of orange berserker movement and allow the orange marked bereserkers to strike north and strike down the already weakened huscarls in the township.

Then the blue berserkers strike down the last visible Huscarl unit after their movement.

Lanu please tell me if you would allow this series of fights which would result in me taking 0 damage from these four units of Huscarls.
>>
>>6124474
Assuming these 4 huscarls are all the enemies present, yes.
If there are more (you can only see 3 tiles away from your units), no.
>>

I have units on the hill that can see 4 tiles away. I assuemed you gactored that in. Or do hills no longer confer bonuses to Vision? Because if so i will have to reconsider my movement. A lot
>>
>>6124498
I forgot about that, but it doesn't change the situation as the 4 tiles of vision from the hills don't reveal any other units.
>>

Its important for me to pull back Mukrogs Knights after they fought so my blue berserkers can flood towards the last enemy unit i can see there for now and butcher the Huscarls with their 2 HP before they can attack back. And for that its important to not get movetrapped at the forest.

Thank you clarifying.

Alright, I'm back from the trip.

The northern strike by Mulrog is a series of perfectly executed strikes, charges, countercharges, flanks and rundowns, as the Huscarl forces are shattered, than run down, many brave, strong men being captured, stripped naked and enslaved. A pretty penny shall be earnt from them. What doesn't go well is a couple hundred Huscarls that stayed too far away to be seen, who chose to charge down a unit of Berserkers, shattering them, first with a hail of javelins and throwing axes before running them down and chopping them to bits. The more worrying part about the whole incursion is the thousands of chaos warriors, favoured by the the dark gods, marching in formation southwards through Fjellsende to fight you.

Other unnerving news come in the shape of the Aesling vanguard attempting to ford Tobol in multiple places.

And the masses of Kislevite horsemen fording rivers and streams and preparing to strike at the southern flank of the whole incursion force.

Other engagements of note are Magor's decisive butchery of Dushyka's inhabitants and the charge Rue'Vahn's warbeasts against the defenders of Zvenilev, the Chekha's stronghold, offering him a opportunity to scour the stronghold for worthwhile information, if he so chooses. On the other hand, there's more than one pretty servant girl that hid in the basement.

Of further interest is that the southern Fimir bogs are uninterested in serving their northern kin and are more interested in serving themselves. If they are to be brought to heel, they must be shattered first.

>Does anyone else want to take over for Ivan or should I do the movement for him?
>>
>>6126312
i can do the movement part for Ivan he did say as long as i keep my promise i can have control.. i have to say. i will have to pull back from the northern shores probably. murdering those Huscarls has given me breathing room. but the only dudes that can destroy the chaos warriors is my Knight unit. and i cant let myself get surrounded.

Here's my movement for turn 14.

My forces on the south of the river will hold position and await my order to cross. Until then, they are encouraged to have a bit of fun and mock the Kislevites on the other side.
The rest of my forces will make their way along the northern river bank, and prepare to stampede through all those troops who would replace the ones in Ostrosk. I probably won't need help, but it's nice to know that Hangar and the others aren't too far away.

Speaking of which, Hangar, if you'd like me to move those three units to the south out of your way, then just let me know.
>>
>>6126312
>>6126422
Oh shit, I forgot about Zvenilev.
Definitely look for information. There's a chance that they might have anticipated I'd find it and that some of the details might have been falsified in order to trick me, be I'll be the judge of what seems suspicious.
As for the girls, they will be gathered, bound, and held as captives. They will be well taken care of; remaining unharmed and... "unspoiled". I want them presentable for one of two reasons. They will either act as good hostages for ransom and negotiations, or if the Kislevites have colder hearts than I expected from soft southerners, then the girls shall be gifted to my lieutenants and the warriors who have performed the best this raiding season. Both cases would benefit from the servants not getting "deflowered".

If I'm reading it wrong and the choice was binary instead of being able to go for both, then I'll take the info over the girls (Slannesh forgive me for not immediately focusing on rape. I'm trying to keep my men alive so that they can do even more rape for you later on).

With Ivan retreating into contemplation ravens are send to his northern Ally whi quicly grasps what is required of him. The northern Advance needs to be crushed, the southern advance halted at the river, making attacking over it a monstrouls costly affair. At the same time enemy reiforcements from the south can not be neglected. A picture forms in Mulrogs mind, Stratagems cpnceived and discarded equally quickly.

More Ravens fly instructing the warbands to splinter while calling for support from a unit of Ivans Knights and promising the Melbionoans a great feast upon the bodies of the gods chosen warriors if they but fight and kill.

i am not quite sure abotu the Albinoans other than that they deal 2 damage and have 3 health. What was their movement again Lanu?

Berserkers fly into a rage as they spot the enemy trying to ford the river, cutting them down as they try to climb up the slopes.

With the Situation slowly becoming more clear in the pools of blood Mulrog uses to see the battlefield a raven is send to huffud, that her minotaurs might be able to crush the lancers while they are still crossing the river, preventing themselves from being charged in the back by them.

As for the other Warlords.

"Worhippers of the Serpent Sloesh heed my word. From the north the Aeslings march, seeking to crush us. Destroying them will take pressure off of Ostorok while we regroup. I ask that you make sure their eyes remain fixed on your and your attrocities."

"Zar Hangar. Your mighty armored fist might be needed south of Ostorok when the time comes to cut off thei Kislevite reinforcements and opening a path to bring the witch before the eyes of gods."

If you want me to help with those 5 chaos warriors from the upper north, then I'll try my best to help, but I don't think I'll get there in time. Even if there was no one in my way, it'd still take like 6 or 7 turns to get there.

Hohoho, the noose is tightening.

In the north, the steady march of the aesling chaos warriors continues, the blood-thirsty warbands chanting bone chilling songs and waving their banners and standards decorated with guts and bones and blood soaked cloths.

Just south, the brave ungols and strelsy south of Ostrosk decide to be more proactive, the Ungols charging the Kurgan lancers in the back as they themselves set to butchering yet another Kislevite village.

Further south, the Ungol-horde has crossed Tolsol and has, with volleys of arrows and quick lance thrusts sent many Kurgan to rejoin their gods.

Huffuds minotaurs seem to have made a mistake in giving up the triangle of land between Lynsk and northern Lynsk to fording kislevite lancers, now finding themselves wedged between them and a Ungol counterattack coming from the south, while Magor's horde finds itself facing down a column of Strelsy marching northwards through the Golinyi hills.
>>
The interrogation of the few remaining inhabitants of Zvenilev (because of course the Chekists are not easy to get to speak and because of course the scrolls and books and tomes and letters were burnt to ash which was afterwards scattered by wind and streams of Kislev) proves a protracted effort.
However, eventually, the words will come out from the men, women being left to observe their friends being tortured until they spoke. Sooner or later, a picture is formed of agreements and bribes being paid to various tribes and states to send aid Kislevs way. From a small Dolgan tribe that is to enlist and serve for land and citizenship in Kislev to Sarl and Skaeling craftsmen being given homes in Erengrad if they are to join the Kislevite ranks to even a promise of a pact with Dwarves. You come to a conclusion that the resistance offered by Kislevites this time will be much greater than before.

There comes a time when one has to start crossing barriers, making transgressions from the norm. The barrier might be a mere waterway, or it might be the bounds of social behaviour; but the true gods will have you step across the lines to win their favour.

We begin pushing our Knights to start the crossing of the river upstream from the goal, with dread Widowmaker crossing furthest down so the decay of his flowing juices might taint the waters blight the drinking source of the defenders with the Granfather's blessings; whilst another Knight detachment braces the fire of the Streltsi to wipe them from the mountain and open up further possible avenues. One Knight detachment waits their time, assuming that Rue'Van's warriors will descend from the hills currently occupied; and plans to press quickly upward in their aftermath to take their place.

The battle for the fortified hilltop is going well so far. The chaos warriors continue marching in formation through the gunfire, bullets barely scratching them. Meanwhile, Rue'Vahn in his Form of Kadon begins tearing into the northern flank. Blood from the hundreds of dead flows down into the river, enough to make a Khornate grin. Yet his attention is drawn away from the crimson water by the sound of a trumpet being blared from one of his own troops.
A scout urgently rushes forward to tell him of the news in the south. Despite being in the middle of a fight against the Streltsi, the Aghol Warlord is stunned speechless upon hearing of the heroic actions made by The Gorebow. With the body of a manticore, his thunderous roar echoes out a promise from the peak of the summit.

"SHAARNOR AS MY WITNESS!!! If Magor survives, I pledge the loot I've earned from this raid to him and his tribe! Ungor or not, we are truly brothers, and I will see that he and his beastkin recover from this sacrifice!"

No problem.
Also, the northernmost minotaur can only move 1 tile on the stream (light blue) tiles. And I'll also note that the Kislevite lancers can only move 3, so the one in the river has a decent chance of escaping if it uses the forest and the hills to slow the Kislevites.

Sorry for delays, life's gotten a bit more interesting and a bit more draining.
The northern incursion by the Aesling warriors continues unimpeded as the horde marches southwards in perfect order, unimpeded.

East of them, the banner of lime on white of the Kraka Ravnsvake flutters in the wind as the first dwarven warriors cross the streams of the Goromadny and march south.

The strelsy defending a forest east of Ostrosk are chased down and gored, clawed, bitten and disembowled by a horde of chaos warspawn of the northern wastes.

A massive clash between chaos knights and kurgan cataphracts and a charging horde of Ungol horsemen occurs at Iaryn. Many dead of both sides are piled high.

East of them, a collumn of Strelsy is marching through the hills.

And east of them, a massive clash between Ungols and the Ungors occurs at the hills northeast of Praag as Ungols, dug in, stakes, palisades, trenches, all prepared by thralls and slaves, are greeted by waves and waves of first arrows, then Ungol lancers, many of whom meet their deaths at the points of Ungor stakes, arrows, javelins and speartips. But nevertheless, the Ungors are shattered.

Next turn please.

SO my stratagem is obliterating the two southern units outright. My knights led by myself will oneshot one unit with the 4 damage i deal.

another unit will be outnumbered and slaughtered by a unit of savages and KNights before the Knights will redraw again. The resulting gap will be filled by my Horsearchers. They will die to the counterpunch but they will buy the time for Khezin Scarblade and his Knights to fulfill their flank. They will take at most two damage from North striking Chaos Warriors and in turn deal 3 damage.

I will then have the Chaos Warriors flanked and trapped. they can throw themselves at the berserkers but it wont save them from being obliterated soon.

A Raven is sent to these remaining Warriors. "I am Mulrog Zar of the Kul named the Cruel. I offer you the riches of Ostorok and mercy from my blade if you but serve me. Let us combine our hatred towards the Southlings and crush them so that the will of the gods be done."

Can you recall how much damage their Halberdiers can take? If they only have three health, your Warbeasts might one-shot them if they're not on a city. Either way, I'd suggest you let one unit of my Knights move first to kill a streltsei; then your healthy Warbeast to the rear can make full use of that M4 to hit the Halberds (widowmaker can advance to make sure they die if not dead already). This'll allow another of my Knights to advance into THAT new gap and take out the Streltsei behind, and then your lead Warbeast can advance full pace and ravage yet another Strelsei, breaking us through the first bottleneck and placing our advance considerably closer to the goal.
>>
>>6130816
i think their halbadiers are similar to chaos Warriors with 4 life and dealing 2 damage.

but i am not sure. i dont think i have ever killed one of those units before.
>>
>>6130843
About time we find out, then. The one resting on the fort has a city's defence behind it, so it's worth sorting out how much damage we need to push at it to kill it next turn. If we push your beast and widdowmaker next the one on the isthmus together it'll be a certain kill and a 50/50 on which of them get injured (unless it does only have 3 health, in which case you just maul it). I'd still recommend my movement plan for those units, if you're okay with it; it's the only way we have of moving down toward the city fast enough with all the other armies approaching from the other angles. The Chaos Warriors are just a little too slow right now, and probably best kept back for engaging the Dwarfs also marching south toward us.
>>
>>6130906
yeah. will try to get out and in there. with my main Knight unit i can deal 4 damage though over the river it will hurt. so i will just chuck some berserkers in there first to get butchered and then we can pincer the enemy unit in Ostorok and plunder the city and the witch.
>>
>>6130816
So, I like your plan, i just... don't quite know what I'm looking at.
If Lanu says that it it'll work and that the movement rules aren't being broken, then I'm fine with doing that.

Oh, and as for the Halberdiers, they only deal 2 damage. That's why one of my warbeasts is at half HP rn. No idea about their health, but I assume it's like chaos warriors, and that the dwarfs from the north will probably be the same.

So, north to south:
A series of well timed charges in the north breaks one formation of Aesling warriors and bloodies another, yet the horde of steel clad men keep brandishing their weapons with chants of "Blood! Blood! Blood!" as they extend their lines into a broad shieldwall.

East of them, the dwarves are preparing for a fording of the river.

South of them, a masterfully planned attack by Hangar leaves thousands of Kislevites dead as charge after charge mauls formation after formation. No doubt Tobol will run red all the way to the Sea of Claws with the blood of Kislevites.

Further south, the skirmish with the Ungols goes less well then hoped, while the strelys column passes the hills without issue and the Ungol horde passes through the hole carved in Magors lines unmolested.

However, the most unnerving and perhaps striking thing in these days of slaughter is the crow that flies towards Rue'Vah and Hangar as they are observing the clashes of their warriors with the Kislevites. Suddenly, a dense fog arises as the crow lands in front of the two men and hops a few times before transforming into the sorceress that had previously summoned all of the warlords forwards, the legs partly shaping themselves into curvy female forms, partly remaining bestial and avian, while the wing shape themselves into halves of the cloak wrapped around the sorceresses body.
"It taketh thine hordes long enough." The sorceress says. "My sister awaiteth in a cage on the city walls. She requireth shaping and carving and moulding, then a firing in the scorching fires until she glows bright and her earthen body is fired into the finest porcelain. Then, chaos shall reign this world and not your four vagabonds reigning the anthills. And you shall be my sisters and mine slaves but you shall be wealthier and mightier than gods." The sorceress says as she leans back onto a rock that hadn't been there a moment ago, crossing one of her legs over the other, her cloak wrapping around her legs unnaturally.
"That is." She continues. "Unless you wish to challenge me."
Her black, birdlike eyes seem to gaze into the depths of your souls. "The four vagabonds will rile against me soon enough. Aeslings aren't the only ones who are on route. Vargs are heading southwards. And the sick Sarlish eastwards. And no doubt the Kurgan fools will answer their gods calling."
She lowers her raised leg, grabs a head sized rock in her bird-claw-foot and raises it with no difficulty. A moment later, it shatters in her grip. "Swear an oath to me. Or try and kill me."
ONLY FOR Rue'Vahn and Zar Hangar:
>Swear an oath [your character is from now on bound to the goals of the crow-witch]
>Try and kill her [risk of injury, maiming, mutilation, but if both try to kill her, a +20 to a roll-off against the witch]

I have a question. Were there six units of Chaos Warriors?

If not then one more is alive than should be. Mulrog oneshots Chaos Warriors with their 4 hp. Then another unit would be dead due to Savages and Chaos Knights.

Or was one in the ruins of the village? I should have seen that with my bersekers on the high ground if so.

This is the next plan. With my northern lieutentant capable of dealing 3 damage he will kill the northernmost Chaos Warriors. Then mulrog with his lower initiative brutalizes the middle, full health unit. Finally a unit of Melbinoans in concert with Chaos Knights destroy the last Chaos Warriors and make room to allow one slightly damaged unit to destroy the stresely trying to cross the river.

If anything is unclear please just ask. Everything else will shift slightly towards Ostorok. My berserkers will take the brunt of the damage i think to allow more valuable units to strike first. Wanted the Bondsmen and Horse Archers for this but those pieces had to be sacrificed earlier.

My Chaos Warriors from the south will hold their ground for now.

Right.

If my Knights on the isthmus attack first, they can open up a spot for a second Knights unit to move then attack, opening a spot for Widowmaker to move to then attack in turn. This done, your Beast at full health can hit Ostrosk and take the return, then my Knights enter the river to also hit Ostrosk, which with the defenders now killed, would allow your fore-most beast to enter the Fortress.

...That is, assuming the sorceress doesn't kill or maim me when I:

Her voice has a hypnotic affect on Rue'Vahn, almost pulling him into a trance. On top of the chance to stay alive, her words twist in his head, filling it with visions of glory and greatness. He begins to slowly walk forward, but as he does, he feels like he is forgetting something. His gaze drifts ever so slightly towards his own arm, and from there, to the rest of his armor. The heavy full-plate earned during his years as an Undivided; to this day there is still not a single mark of Slannesh upon it.
Then he remembers why.
He left it unadorned to serve as a reminder of who he used to be. How empty life felt before being gifted his most precious treasure. A reminder of what he gained, but also of what he stands to lose. The warlord continues approaching the witch, his pace unchanged, but with his mind returned to normal.

Thinking about what she said, Rue'Vahn realizes something. The sorceress is powerful, certainly, but if she was as strong as she wishes to appear, then she wouldn't be trying to make us swear allegiance to her and she definitely wouldn't have needed us to free her sister. She would have just done it herself. Furthermore, she cannot possibly be as all-knowing as she thinks. If so, she would have attacked without warning instead of wasting time by making this offer, since she would know that he would never agree to it.
Before anything else, you'd need the intellect of a chaos spawn to actually believe or trust a single word she says.
She claims that in exchange for enslavement we will be given... what, wealth? Power? Rubbish. Even if she isn't lying, he never cared for that. His purpose has always been to appease the gods first and foremost. The wealth, fame, and strength were merely rewards, not the goal.
Admittedly, the servitude part isn't much of an issue. After all, he is already a slave to chaos. However, it's not like she's offering freedom, just a different master. One that hasn't given happiness to his life.

Upon reaching her, he considers mentioning how the collective warlords never actually betrayed her. When they gathered in that tent those years ago, no promises were made. She simply gave an offer. That she's willing to trade twenty chests of dwarven silver to anyone who doesn't want the captive sister. We never agreed to the deal, we merely spoke of a fair price. Rue'Vahn supposes that by bringing up this topic, he can stall for time and allow Zar Hangar to make his choice.
Ultimately, he decides not to talk about it, since it might only anger the witch. In fact, he wants to say all of this out loud and tell her exactly what he thinks, but that would give away the element of surprise. Better to lie.
So instead, he takes a knee, sticks out his hand in reverent gesture, ready to begin the oath before saying:

"Wasn't listening. Busy thinking about fucking my wife. Die."

As for our turn on the map, I think there's a decent chance that after we have taken Ostrosk, we can use my captives to get some of the Kislevites to let us withdraw for the season. This obviously won't apply to the dwarves and enemy norscans, but it should help.

THE ZAR LIVES!
Bedecked in mystical robes over his Kurgan armor, a mysterious helm atop his head resembling a temple to the Dark Gods! These are the fruits of his siege against the Aponnians & the culmination of his personal sorcerers' labors: garbs once cursed, offering mystical protection from all manner of witchcraft. (I'm just straight up stealing the album cover art from Funeral Candies for Ivan's new look, great band)

His pack of Fimir, having moved up the river under cover of their fog-conjuring banners, (& over many missed turns) besiege Ostrosk with the combined forces of the Eastern Warbands. The Zar himself rides to the aide of Hangar's knights to free up the route by which the witch can be taken from Kislev.

A letter reaches Mulrog, "Hail Mighty Zar of the Kul! I was wise to entrust my men to your leadership as I recovered. I see we were fools to allow the Norscan wolf-buggerers to live unsubjugated; a mistake we must rectify in the future. We must catch Kislev's lancers as they seek to cross the river. I foresee them nipping at my heels in the coming hours, but a price of blood must be paid for all in this testing ground of the Gods. Total Varangian Death best day of my life! So say I,
The High Zar"

"Wasn't listening. Busy thinking about fucking my wife. Di-"
Before Rue'Vahn can finish, the clawed foot of the sorceress shoots up, grabs his head hard enough that his cursed helmet creaks and dents and smashes it down against the floor. A disgusting, yet satisfying crunch can be heard.
The next moment, Hangars face contorts into a mixture of fear and anger as his hands reach for his sabre-sword at his hilt, while his lips curl into a snarl beneath his massive moustache. He leaps forwards, the sabre defining a perfect arc in the fog dimmed air where the sorceress stood a moment before, but misses, finding himself looking at a rapidly approaching foot which slams into his chest. The kick knocks him onto his back, the plate armour taken off a kislevite horseman dented and torn from the impact. The sorceress steps over him and steps on his neck, her claws tightening around the neck of the struggling Kurgan.
"You could have had it all. But alas-"
The bulking Hung warrior slams into her from behind in a leap, the blade extended outwards and rigidly held in his hands, aimed straight for the sorceresses heart. Her knee shoots up, knocking the blade out of the way, but not the warrior himself. A moment afterwards, the two men are on the sorceress, arms trying to hold her down as hands reach for blades and weapons. Hangar tries stabbing her, but finds his arm blocked by a savage kick from the sorceress, his forearm bending and cracking under the blow. It is at that moment that Rue'Vahn's arm jerks his blade into the sorceresses gut. He gets a knee to his gut and rolls off the woman, gasping for air and vomiting through his helmet. The sorceress scrambles up, getting a few meters between herself and the two warlords, when a roar is heard. A moment later, the sorceress curses, reaches superhuman speeds within a few steps and leaps into the air, transforming back into a raven as Sunset appears out of the fog and lunges for her. The chaos manticore lands on the ground roaring, infuriated at her empty jaws.

Coughing up blood, Rue'Vahn stumbles over to his monstrous wife and needs a moment to sit down with his back leaning against her. He feels safe when she is around.
The dizziness and aching pain in his head indicates a concussion, so it takes a few minutes of rest before he is able to comprehend what just happened. Broken ribs, a dented skull, wounded pride, and yet... they're alive. He and Hangar spat in the face of the witch, then lived to tell the tale. A smile of contentment crossed the warlord's face, realizing that if the gods were watching, he hadn't failed them in his darkest hour. Loyalty is almost unheard of amongst the Hung, but the Great Four are an exception.
Arising to his feet in disoriented manner, Rue'Vahn searches his saddle bag for Shallyan medicine. These were emergency supplies intended to be kept in case Sunset was ever again close to death's door, but the current situation called for respite. He turns with a gesture, offering them to the other hero of this victory.

"Zar Hangar, my life and soul remain intact thanks to you. Truly, you are a worthy leader, and I would follow you to the hells and back."
He then also pulls out two bottles of mead, before tossing one to his comrade in arms.
"Here brother, catch! Normally, I try to save the revelry until the raiding season has ended, but this is special and calls for celebration. A toast to you, the dark gods, and deciding our own destiny. Cheers!"

This was a grizzly turn.

The northern clash finds the cream of the Aelsing army ravaged by the mixture of Baersonling berserkers, chaos knights and Melnibonean warriors. Pained screaming, clashes of steel and flesh and a ever growing carpet of corpses, the whole clash visible from Ostrosk.
Yet its defenders did not have a calm time either, as the tide of chaos warbeasts and knights rapidly smashed through the lines of the defenders, the fort falling in a blitz of gore, claws and lancetips, the city ravaged by the half thinking beasts.
And neither did the attackers enjoy their victory for long, as over the stream came a tide of dwarven warriors, fording it, chest deep for the short warriors who descended upon the chaos lines, their axes, maces and swords raised high.
To the south, the Ungortide descended upon the Strelsy column and in places shattered, in other, got shattered by the red coated warriors.
And finally, to their west, Ivan's own got caught, the brave Zar caught in a life and death melee with a overwhelming force of Kislevite rota's.
>>
Rue'Vahn now has a choice. Ostrosk, its streets washed in blood, stands mostly deserted. Remembering the now years old gift, he grabs a ruby from one of his many pouches and raises it. A moment later, a dangling sculpture of clay hangs below it, a chain holding up a small cage with a small woman, her head wrapped in cloth, completely naked and half dead from starvation, limbs hanging limply outside of the cage, head and back arched forwards in a unnatural posture under the bars of the cage. Rue looks up from atop Sunset. The cage hangs from the walls of a tower. The woman stares at Rue blankly. Her eyes look glazed.

First, am I allowed to oog ask everyone else what they would like me to do, or is that metagaming? It's a group effort, so irl I don't want to just decide for everyone without asking, especially considering how significant his is.
Second, we did get the loot from the settlement itself, right? I'll split it with everyone else later, but I want to make sure I don't forget, cuz I almost didn't remember to write down the loot from the previous two places I ransacked.
Third, of the options, I might be too small brained to understand which ones lead to what. My current idea is to take her prisoner and probably drag her back to Ivanoslav, but I haven't decided yet.
So, does 'Free her' mean that I literally let her go, and that she'd run off to go reunite with her sister? Or does it just mean that I simply take her from the cage, but she's still my prisoner? I ask, because I don't understand if the second option is the opposite. By 'Don't free her' is it saying that I just ignore her and walk away? Or is it saying that I leave her in the cage, but I can still just take the entire cage with me and my men?

Oh right, and last but not least is pic related.
I have to ask about the most important thing of all. Are any of the options mutually exclusive with doing the Will of Slannesh? Like, am I able to do it regardless of what I pick, or does that lock me into one of the choices? For example, if she looks half dead, will she even survive what is about to happen? If not, then that'd leave me with only the third choice.

>Did my Fimir arrive at Ostrosk during the turn, Lanu?
No, they're not loyal to eachother and Mulrog deemed it more valuable to start returning the skinwolves and the fimir northwards. I forgot to include them, but right now they're just south of the river next to the Kislevites you left south of the Aesling berserker and bondsman in the south.

>First, am I allowed to oog ask everyone else what they would like me to do, or is that metagaming? It's a group effort, so irl I don't want to just decide for everyone without asking, especially considering how significant his is.
If you hold the settlement for one more turn, you can ask the ones right next to you (Ivan, Mulrog, Hangar), if for two, the Huffud and Magor aswell. If for three, the priests of Chamon Dharek.
>Second, we did get the loot from the settlement itself, right? I'll split it with everyone else later, but I want to make sure I don't forget, cuz I almost didn't remember to write down the loot from the previous two places I ransacked.
Yes. 30 loot.
>Third, of the options, I might be too small brained to understand which ones lead to what. My current idea is to take her prisoner and probably drag her back to Ivanoslav, but I haven't decided yet.
If you want, you can drag her around in the cage or keep her tied up. If you have some more elaborate ideas, feel free to describe them in text.
>Are any of the options mutually exclusive with doing the Will of Slannesh?
No, you can do her first.
>For example, if she looks half dead, will she even survive what is about to happen?
She looks like a strong breeze could finish her off. But it's up to you what to do.

Was all the reaction damage we should have dished in the enemy Phase applied? The Halberdiers should have taken a hit from Widowmaker, even as they and the Dwarfs in the stream chopped up the previously undamaged Knights; likewise the Knights on the isthmus should have delivered a whack to the leading southernmost Dwarfs, and even the Knights that died should have got a hit in before they went down as their foes were all in the stream.

Oh, and also I think Rue's other beasts should still be alive? They were at full health when they struck the Halberdiers from the land-hex next to Ostrosk, and with no other units around them at the time (they'd all just been killed in the push) and with my Knights in the river/Ivan's unit taking the Hills to the north during the enemy phase, I'm not certain how any other unit could have gotten to them. Or was this something the sorceress did?

It'd require the skinwolves to attack the Fimir stronghold as they aren't interested in cooperating and would need to be beaten down to get in line. The situation would also require either your Fimir or Skinwolves to get hit during the attack. If you want, we can retroactively apply it and apply a fimir attack on one of the two. In that case, give me a d2 (1 = attack hits your Fimir, 2 = it hits your skinwolves).

>>6134416
>Was all the reaction damage we should have dished in the enemy Phase applied?
Unless I'm miss-counting something, tell me, but to me it seems that your rapid advance exhausted the attack of a bunch of your units and left a lot of your guys vulnerable. IIRC this is how the attack went.
>The Halberdiers should have taken a hit from Widowmaker
He attacked the Strelsy in the river already.
>even as they and the Dwarfs in the stream chopped up the previously undamaged Knights;
Through a series of very unlucky rolls, 2 longbeards and 1 unit of regular dwarves all targeted your fresh knights.
>likewise the Knights on the isthmus should have delivered a whack to the leading southernmost Dwarfs
I believe they attacked a unit of Strelsy.
>and even the Knights that died should have got a hit in before they went down as their foes were all in the stream.
Same as above.
>>6134598
>Oh, and also I think Rue's other beasts should still be alive?
That is true, they should have take 2 damage, however, I mixed them up with a unit that was already damaged and made a mistake.

Alright then, I'll try to get my turn done by midnight-ish. Although in that case, if one of my Warbeast units is still alive, then uh... where would it be? Right next to Ostrosk?

Speaking of which, I'll try to make my decision now.
First, the Will of Slannesh must be done. You don't want to piss off one of the Dark Four. So in order to not have to cheat on his own wife, Rue'Vahn and Sunset will defile the witch together. Oh, her eyes will look glazed alright.
Now that that's taken care of, he will make sure that the cage is secured, and she will be taken with them. The shamans said that the Gods want her and the sister dead for their transgressions. If it were anyone else, he would just cut the head off and move on. However, these two seem truly bizarre, and he is not certain that decapitation would actually be enough. Who's to say that a few hours later she just stands back up like nothing happened? Hell, maybe it does work, but the sister manages to revive her. So out of paranoia, she will be taken to a place where the shamans of chaos can give her a permanent death, and that the body can be hidden away or destroyed.

Lastly, Rue'Vahn will send a messenger to Kislevites, telling them that the captured, unharmed women of Zvenilev will be returned if the various Warlords are allowed to retreat. The messenger will have one of said captives with him, and deliver her for free. She will be able to attest that the others are still alive; they would never trust the word of a Hung, but they can trust their own. He understands if soldiers can't speak on behalf of the dwarves, but as long as the Streltsi and Kossars stand down, then the mothers, sisters, wives, and daughters will be set free. If the Kislevites refuse? Then before his men kill the captives, they will do unspeakable things to the innocent victims.

Absolutely Sickening & Slaanesh-pilled, solid stuff.

>>6134825
Whomst'dve are my Fimir & Skinwolves supposed to be attacking? My own swamp-lizards got close enough to the other Fimir den to parlay, but not actually within striking distance. Once they were ignored, I was going to simply move them along. Unless you mean a joint attack on the Fimir den, with my own in the water for the initiative bonus & Skinwolves on the hills.
>>
>>6134890
Whether by word of messenger or words upon the dark winds of chaos, Magor sends his congratulations and deepest regrets that he himself could not have been there to partake in the spoil of the witch. He knows the situation is perilous for his bretheren in Chaos, and prays for the indulgence of the Dark Gods that they might live to raid and sack and pillage a new.

"My only suggestion would be that, were it possible, do not let her be slain so easily. Truly, the reward may be great, if she and her sister wert brought alive to the frozen north, there to be taken by the most devout warriors of the serpent directly to the his palace. But if that is not possible, then let the will of the Gods be done."

The eagle advises cunning at this time. The will of the gods has been carried out. Ostrosk and its witch is defiled.

Now the warlords are making good their escape and so must we. Magor see's nothing he can do to aid that, other than to die upon masses of cavalry and kislevites.

Perhaps an alternative target then. As the Kislevites have surged forward to join the fight at Ostrosk, perhaps they have left their villages undefended?

Back from his wine sipping break Mulrog had stood to his full height, challenging Champions of the different warbands that were streaming south, seeking his blood.

Their leader had been somewhat worthy stepping stones on his own path to Glory as for a time he let his bloodlust control him, till he stood knee deep in corpses in heavy armor. Howling a praise to the bloodgod before cold, hard logic stomped his furry back into the cage of control he had errected to direct his warriors.

When he came to again he spotted the pillars of smoke from Ostorok and smiled grimly. The Slaaneshi Warlord would not have been gentle with the inhabitants. A deep growl, almost like that of a dog, escaped his throat.

"Those skulls were promised to the Bloodgod. Next time i will be faster." Mulrog spat, ordering formations of warriors futher north in a bid to prepare a route of escape for the warlords while further reinforcements streamed north from the south.

This war was not over and he was certain the Kislevites would not let them go that easily. The pyramide of skulls he had errected was alread huge but he was certain another would be errected before this year was closing.

Ah, I'd been under the understanding that the 'Opponent turn' was held separately to the 'Chaos Turn', and that units of both sides would get one attack in each but would only move in their own. I'd thought that's how it had worked in the battle against the Hobgoblins, guess I've just been misremembering.

In that case... hmm. No idea how I'm going to get the remaining knights on the Ostorok spit out to the 'saftey' of the Chaos wastes. I presume I just can't retreat them all from this position, right?

Assuming not, under the assumption(?) That the Longbeards Have 4 Health/2 Attack and the Basic Warriors 3/1... I'll start with making the white attacks/movements, getting two knights at least to the other side of the river if not entirely over it. With the White attacks made and counters received, the yellow movements and attacks will then follow, then the shades of orange (Widowmaker's movement dependent on the Hex Rue'Van ends up at, though I assume it'll more likely be moving north to escape) and finally the red movement.

If the last Knight gets an opportunity to move away somehow I'll take it, but realistically he's probably stuck there on the Dwarfs for the turn.

Alright, here should be my movement for the turn.
If my third Warbeast unit is still alive and next to Ostrosk, then it will move into the river as well. My bondsmen are moving towards that hill under the assumption that Hangar's knights kill the enemies currently occupying it.
The sister is being carried by the warbeast that is currently leaving Ostrosk, and will probably head towards Mulrog since he is still doing pretty well.

The butchery in the northern stream is a great one, as dwarven warriors are cut down in their hundreds by the chaos knights while cutting down hundreds of them. If nothing else, one of the greatest displays of warriormanship is encountered here as centuries of experience, on both sides, are mixed with terrible positioning, for both sides.

In the south, Ungols rush across the river, eager to press the advantage they might have while their foes are stuck in the north, while to the south-west, the Kurgan cataphracts and their commander, armed with the infamous Stormbringer, fight to the bitter end, a strange calling and a powerful rain out of a clear sky allowing the swordbearer to escape and rejoin friendly lines (Ivan is free to re-apply Stormbringer to any unit).

Further to the south-west, a shouting match begins between bondsmen and chaos warriors, with the bondsmen accusing Mulrog's chaos warriors of being traitors to chaos.
>>
It is perhaps, not surprising at all, when a crow flies to Mulrog (and Ivan, if he happens to check the thread) and transforms into the raven headed sorceress, her posture bent under the strain of the wound, from which enough blood had seeped that her robes are marked by a long black stain. A glimpse of her leg reveals it too to be blood covered.
"Heil." She speaks, her voice unaffected by the wound as her body stumbles forwards. "I come bearing an offer." She says, her body managing to straighten itself. Her wound bleeds more freely. "The other warlords will throw away the offer of chests of silver for their promises are worth to them as much as the women they spoil. They bring my sister across the river. Recover her in any way that you wish and hand her to me and I shall compensate you for your troubles and the loss of your allies. Twenty manweights of dwarf silver (120 loot). And as many more for the next task I shall give. And that many more for the next one. Karag Dum was a wealthy place and its wealth remains in its depths, guarded by my minions."
MULROG AND IVAN ONLY:
>Try and kill her [risk of injury, maiming, mutilation, but if both try to kill her, a +20 to a roll-off against the witch - if only one tries, a +10]
>Accept the offer and swear an oath [your character is from now on bound to attempt to free the crow-witch's sister]
>Ask her about something [write-in]

Sunset and Rue'Vahn will cross the north side of the river and attempt to reunite with Mulrog and Ivan.
His plan is to discuss the next course of action, and retreat with them for the season. At the moment, he intends to take the witch back to Ivanoslav since that's where the warlords usually meet and decide things, but if there's any other ideas then he'll listen.

My cats were dead either way, but I was going to take command of those Melnibros that got moved by Mulrog & wasted, just forgot to post movement... Or at the least leave them entrenched in the town. I was also going to pull a houdini with Ivan/Stormbringer though, so I appreciate not dying outright. (kek)

If you're kool with me pincer attacking the other Fimir den in retrospect & then leaving the Skinwolves & Fimir there to forcibly recruit another unit from them, I'll make that move. Skinwolves should have been headed for a neighboring hill with which to add initiative, while the Fimir get it from being in the water.

Where are the 2k Sarl troops who rallied to my banner?

The High Zar opens his sleeve & lets fly a raven prepared by his sorcerers: "Rue'Vahn, Mightiest Champion of Loesh! Word has reached me of your great siege. The legions of the Kislevites are too numerous for a quick return to my citadel; Chamon Dharek, foremost place in the sight of the Gods we may find South of the Great Northern Wastes, awaits us to the West. Your prize is by all rights yours to sacrifice, though I would ask a moment with the witch once we arrive to settle a vow once made to a servant of the Gods."

The Dolgan Lord rode North to rejoin his warbands, arriving before the Cruel One, Mulrog of the Kul. The witch's sudden arrival had the Kurgan King reaching for his neck & his blade in equal measure. "I might be persuaded by your offer, feather-bearing hag that you are, if visions from the Gods did not haunt my dreams. Tell me once & for all, what Daemon Prince do you serve? Answer me this honestly, & provide unto me a steed worthy of my great Kurgan blood (+2M to a unit of my choice), & I will persuade the other warlords to sacrifice merely some small measure of blood from your sister's veins. My own sorcerers will ensure she lives at my behest. Should you lie regarding your allegiances, by the imperious gaze of my ancestor the Great Tsar Ungern I shall know the deception you utter!"
>>
>>6136187
Before the crone can answer, the Zar adds "Know also that I alone could not deliver her to you. Only blood & gold can buy a life, & blood we both lack for as of late. If the coffers of your lair are so rich, it should be no issue to bring forth three such shares to satisfy our hordes. One I would claim, another to my great ally Mulrog should he accept as well, & the last to be divided amongst the other four lords: the Hastling, Heffer, Hungolian, & Halfman. Provide an honest answer, a great steed, & the treasures we spend our lives for, & you shall have my oath as well as hospitality within my growing realm."

The Knights that have made the northern shore ride still further; aiming to make the pass and retreat into the cold north. The Knights in Ostorok will follow Rue'Van's beasts as if an honour guard, and the Knights currently in the river will attempt to make shore if the land comes free to do so (if not, they shall head North directly throught he water). Next, the Mighty Widowmaker shall wade into the Stream toward the far-bank town and brace through his exceptional resilience to strike at the Longbeards, which should allow the remaining Knights to finish cutting these same Longbeards down before they ride into the river to join the rearguard for Rue'van's retreat.

On the eastern flank, one Knight will then cut down the wounded Longbeards in the river, their freed neighbour shall then ride west and cut down the crossing Horse Archers before moving North to cross themselves; allowing the first to fight to then drop into the northern River themselves as part of the formation.

All the answer the Aesling receive is the mocking laughter of Chaos Warriors declaring that the Aeslings must have fallen afoul of the machniations of the Elves or the Kislevites if their brains were so soft and mushy that they were practially leaking out of their skulls. Ivan seems to be looking a bit worse for wear but the warlord still remains strong enough to impress some respect into the Mind of the Khornate Warlord. Though he found the self proclaimed kings reaction to the witch slightly peculiar.

Mulrogs Nostrils flair, as he sniffed the air as the witch manifests. The Reek of blood worming its way past the faceplate of his helmet. Smelling of disgusting sorcery it is all he can do to hold back as Ivan wishes to speak to the witch first.

"You say you come bearing an offer for twice the silver. I smell desperation underneath your loathesome sorcery for if you had those minions at your beck and call at all times you would have hardly needed us to 'SAVE' your sister for you." he spits though is willing to let Ivan handle the talking so long as the witch agrees to be clad in iron chains, bearing leaden weights and carved with sigils of the Bloodgod. Though the Grip on his Axe is ever strong and the steel-reinforced wood groans under the stress of his might, while his bloodred eyes are vigilant for any trickery.

I serve chaos itself, not any prince or demon. The next moment, the axe hits her between the head and the shoulder, the blade entering her chest and a split moment later, exiting above her hipbone, her upper body being drawn downwards by the strength of the impact.
Mulrog remains alert as Ivan looks at the ogre-man who moved with speed unfitting his size and cleaved his questionable patron. A few moments of silence later, Mulrog relaxes a bit.

A few moments later Ivan turns around and calls for his mages and sorcerers. Relaying the witches speech, none but Chebelech can expand upon it beyond denials and claims of somewhat hillarous heresy amongst the followers of the dark gods. Chebelech, however, speaks in affirmation of her "She did not lie, Zar Ivan." He says, his arms shuffling under his robes. "The sword you wield now is work of a lord of Chaos who had not visited this world yet and was brought by a disloyal servant seeking to flee his masters influence."

"And is there any truth to the rest of her speech?" Ivan asks.

"There may be." Chebelech says. "For the worlds, see them as birds, flying through the skies. Now and then, they hit eachother and gods, forgive me for the manner of speech, like lice, leap from one world to another."

"And what does this mean?" Ivan asks again.

"She may serve a petty demon from a different world, trying to carve a corner for itself. Or she may actually be a messenger for an army of gods which will incurse into this world."

[Still waiting for your move Ivan]
>>
>>6137049
Listening to the words of the other witch was also grating, though not as much as the words of the bird headed one had been.

"It is of little consequence. it is time for us to leave here. and if those pretenders wish to replace the gods then there is only one way. To conquer this world beforehand."

Gesturing towards the other two Warlords that were moving northward to meet with them, the beasts and Chaos Knights being visible from even such a great distance.

"So Chebelech, you have no knowledge of this Zambah? No matter, you have been most helpful. The four of you, see that she cannot return to this world, & clean her skull, I'll have use for it at Chamon Dharek along with the others we've collected."

"You are most bold, Mulrog. Do you not seek a trophy from the hag's corpse? What of the dagger she carried? It would be a shame to leave it here to rust..."
>>
>>6137070
"I speak only the truth of the Matter Ivan. Her Skull shall be a fitting offering to Tchar together with her dagger. Her followers, if she has any will be what is claimed for the Bloodgod. Their Skull formed into a Pyramide and their armor crushed and strewn into the winds to be carried to the Plaguefather. Just because i serve the lord of Brass does not mean i wish to enrage the other gods." gesturing towards the corpse with clear contempt in his bodylanguage.
>>
>>6137072
The Zar spoke to his assembled magick-weavers once more: "Very well, give the Cruel one her skull once you have ensured there is no chance of her return. When we arrive under the Sight of the Gods, her sister's blood should suffice to reanimate the rest. The skulls of the scaled-sorcerer, the ancient Aponnian king, & Torchak the Tahmak will offer me up their secrets from beyond the grave..." He turned to Mulrog, axe still dripping blood, "We can cleanse the cursed gold there as well & divide the plunder taken on this campaign. I'm curious what designs you may have for the other witch. We should speak of it in the saddle." A hulking Fimir bound over upon hearing the clap of the Zar's hands, the reigns of great steeds in his hands. The return to Chamon Dharek would be quick, unless the Aeslings or some other unforeseen force had blocked the way.
>>
>>6136187

Aight, let’s retreat. I go home with no losses, but no loot either… truly a shameful display
>>
>>6137109

"Then for Chamon Darek we ride. Let Rue'Van and Hangar catch up though. I would prefer to have the witch in chains no matter the current state of the one serving strange gods." Mulrog sneered, pointedly ignoring Rozyk, who by now had brought the leaden chains for the Sorceresses remains to be clad in.

"Asnea attend me. I wish for some independent confirmation that the witch here is dead." he finally called for the young shaman woman to be brought to him under guard by his personal honor guard so that she may exchange some words with Ivans witches and sorcerers about the state of the witch.

Sat atop a mustang of the Eastern Steppes, the Zar pondered as he awaited the arrival of the other great warlords. Nodding to himself, he penned a letter in blood, a rune-marked leather pouch with a single cursed coin tied to it, before sending it through the winds upon the wings of a blackbird towards the Last Hope Inn.
It read, "To the Roppsmann who spoke of the Aponnians I pen this entreaty. Their ancient ruins I have plundered, their hexed gold I have claimed with one such piece included within, & their shambling corpses I have returned to the tranquil peace of true death. Whether satisfaction in the assurance of vengeance or lust for their treasures compels you, I can grant either. Amongst your tribe I seek a worthy warrior capable of solemn loyalty & the power of authority. Come to Chamon Dharek, or if the journey be too perilous, present this letter to those who guard the pass to Ivanoslav. Should you arrive late to the West, the priests & Sarls too shall honor my word & sail you to my domain. I will grant any favor within my power so long as you are what I seek, or you present such a warrior to me.
So say I,
High Zar Ivan of the Wheatlands, Dragon-Prince of the Melniboneans, Lord of the Dolgan Tribes"

Pretty sure Magor is the only goat we have herr. Hope he gets to safety though in some forests
>>
>>6137643
Magor would have loved to be at Ostrosk with you guys and certainly feels bitter against the Kislevites for preventing him and from enjoying that witch's skin and flesh. At the same time, he's sacrificing a slave every day to ensure the Dark Gods get you lot out. He needs his blood bretheren alive for whatever next campaigns of ruin the future bring!

Hopefully the river villages to the south will bring much needed loot for all of us to recover.

Vicious clashes follow as the dwarves are beaten off on the stream and the northern flank is insured, yet it comes at great cost as the Ungols bravely charge from the south to pick off as many chaoslings as possible, throwing themselves into rivers from atop their horses to cut down as many as they can.

However, much to Ivan's future joy, the Sarls are spotted by Mulrogs chaos warriors.

In the south, the Fimir and the skinwolves have subjugated the Fimir.

I doubt they were completely unguarded. But you might be able to get some moot to replenish your own ranks. I will probably go back to the Baersonlings to refill my ranks with more Bearsekers and Thralls for those sweet sweet discounted prices i get there

>>6137793

Like Mulrog was saying, as much as I love to see Praag's defenses weakened, that may be your last charge... Might I suggest taking that tier 2 settlement due North of your beasts, right next to Baerson lands.

"The four set to work on the witch, boiling her, then drying what wasn't claimed of her and setting to pulverizing her flesh and bones. Eventually, the ashes are sealed in cursed jars and bound in chains."
Based

"In the south, the Fimir and the skinwolves have subjugated the Fimir."
I order the collection of eyes from the slain Balefiends, & their queen to send a Fimir to speak on her behalf at my court in the future. How does Fimir initiative work again exactly? That's another 30 loot as well, right?

I for one can't wait for Total Aesling Death, they've really pissed in my Nurgflakes on this campaign. No wonder the Baersons hate them.

The Zar knows beyond knowing that he is favored by Tchar as a plot forms behind his Apponian temple-helm, desecrated as it is in mockery of the undead & praise of his own Dark Gods. Another letter is spelled out, this time scratched in the angular, runic hand of a Norscan.
"Hail my Jarl, the raids have gone well. The cowardly Gospodar have us fight their batttles, while the survivors from their towns flee into our lines away from the Kurgans and Beasts. After we amused ourselves with them, they were sold to the Sarls across the river. A few of them we deemed worth keeping, though I know not how much longer they'll last! Soon we will return North, so have the next warband meet us in Fjellsende territory, at the agreed upon fjord.
Gods be with you,
Thane Blekking"
He directed a raven to carry it due South, passing by the column of Kislevite lancers...

Pink is the target/route I was suggesting for Magor, although returning towards Ivanoslav there is a target or two left as well I'm sure.

White is projected (I intend to investigate the green).

Holding off on moving the Sarls for the moment until I see about my ruse.

should i tell them something from you? Or do you wanna write them another fancy letter?

also yes. they fucked so much with my deployment and stratagems. the casualties could have been SO much less if they had had the decency to just work with us. but the witch probably needeled them up against us.

Pretty sure the blue are the Sarls, while red are the Aes. They should know about the Aeslings raiding them, but I doubt they have a clue about you, so there shouldn't be any problems. (The Aes did overrun you & their villages, so they'll probably be reasonably blamed for both)
>>
>>6137884

alright then i will just send em a message stating that Ivan is further up stream. however Aeslings are blocking the path so it would be best for them to disembark early. we can even overrun the Kislevite settlement and split the loot.

The Sarl Banners are identified and a flutter of messages is send between the Warriors and Mulrog.

A final message is sent to the Sarl Warriors bidding the welcome if they are here to fight for Ivan and where to land if they wised to since behind the forest there are Aeslings Waiting as well as a large amount of Southerners on Horses so getting out at or before the orange cross would probably be preferable if they wish to not throw away teir lives to an ambush.

Lanu, I take it conquering Hellpit would have unlocked Skaven units for recruitment? Also, was the raven-witch named Lanu as well in-universe? Lastly, are Kyazak marauder tribes around in your setting, & if so, are they non-Chaos aligned mountain nomads or just the collective scum that live on the periphery of Kislev?

When the warlords reach Chamon Dharek we should post updated images, I know Hangar has grown a comically large moustache & it isn't Sigmarmass yet but Mulrog has grown 3 sizes.

Right now, I apologize for being late, some health issues, exercise, the cold and studying combined sap away both time and energy.
>Lanu, I take it conquering Hellpit would have unlocked Skaven units for recruitment?
Yeah, but taking Hellpit would be worse than this threefold.
>Also, was the raven-witch named Lanu as well in-universe?
Actually no, but I'm fine with the nickname sticking. She never actually introduced herself.
>Lastly, are Kyazak marauder tribes around in your setting, & if so, are they non-Chaos aligned mountain nomads or just the collective scum that live on the periphery of Kislev?
I see them as a catchall term for foreign raiders coming in from the north, rather than anything else.

This turn is a mostly peaceful and quiet one, as little occurs. Aside from unfortunate bondsmen under Mulrog, who got gunned down while fording a river, the cornered Aeslings stuck against a river, desparately preparing fortifications and trying to flee and Sarls disembarking, preparing to meet Ivan and join his host, little occurs.

What does happen is a messenger, a corpse inside the armour of a chaos warrior, riding towards Mulrog's westernmost men atop a undead chaos warsteed, his lance raised high, his steed rushing at speeds no unarmoured horse could hope to meet. As he approaches, he stops ahead of the first warrior, takes off his helmet, reveals his dried, rotted head and opens his toothless mouth, releasing a bone-chilling screech "Chamon Dharek calls for all warlords!"
The next moment, he re-places his helmet and rides off just as quickly as he arrived.

The undead rider is mystery, but whatever the meaning of his words we cannot all advance at the fullest pace. The Widowmaker still needs to cross, and so the rear can only move at a certain speed to provide his decaying bulk cover. And whatever the nature of this bequest, there are men some just too mauled to continue their season; the northernmost Knights thus ride on a retreat back to the land of the Hastlings for the season's remainder.
>>
So Magor travels North to strike at Kzarla, Hangar & Rue'Vahn bypass Fort Straghov & leave them to live another season, Goranitch is within striking distance, I've subjugated the Fimir of The Blight, & I can only assume I'll soon stumble upon the Lair of Throgg. Who seeks to strike at Zamak Spayenya? It will cost a great deal of blood.

Here's my movement for turn 22.
If there's too much traffic to fit across the river, then that northern warbeast can be moved to the forest tile north of it.

As for the undead messenger, this sounds very suspicious. Almost like a set up.
Since when do the servants of the Dark Four use necromancy? That Nehekaran filth is used by the enemy, not by Chaos. Still, if it's a trap then we need to find out who set it, and there's only one way to do so; by springing it. We continue onwards to Chamon Dharek.
>>
>>6139662
That is suspicious that their servants are undead, but we've already seen their mummified guardians at the temple grounds. Perhaps it is some application of the Winds of Chamon. You could ask my sorcerers Chebelech, Orokia, Duzzug, or the Silent One if they have any insights. Speaking of henchmen, what NPCs, met via events or original, do each of you warlords have? I'm pretty sure one of Hangar's was loyal to the crone before joining his warband...
>>
>>6139730
I got Khezin Scarblade my Knight Lieutenant, who is a minor Chaos Lord in his own right, leading my second squad of knights.

Algal first of Mulrogs Riders, that leads Mulrogs Knights whenever Mulrog is absent.

Finally Asnea the young Strignay Seer, which Mulrog only doesnt kill because he feels like he needs at least a shaman, if not a full mage.

and then there is Rozyk, who you currently have hold of.

There was a Skinwolf Alpha.... but yeah. He super dead.
>>
>>6139730
I haven't recruited any NPCs via the quest, but all of my lieutenants back in the Aghol lands are Duo-God worshipers. The canon lore states how anyone who tries that never succeeds, and I always thought that that was really lame and a huge missed opportunity.
Imagine a Khorne/Tzeentch champion who studied hard in order to become a master at counter-spell magic, and can reflect a wizard's sorcery back at them. Heck, maybe just using magic in order to be a better general, such as scrying from a birds eye view to get a better picture of the battlefield or using spells to make communication with his troops easier.

In my case, at Ivanoslav, you already met my slave master (who was a Tzeentch/Slannesh and had an obsession with transformation). They introduced my translator, who was a courtesan that learned how to seduce men from any nation in order to spread STDs in the name of Nurgle + Slannesh.
I had plans for a Khorne/Nurgle and a Slannesh/Khorne, but those never went anywhere since I didn't get to recruit a unit of Knights.
>>
Multi-God Chaos cults & tribes just make sense to me. Here are some hypothetical pantheons based on what makes sense, past conquests by & of each group, & trade/proximity. The Hobgobs especially need one, since as far as I know there's never been any worldbuilding on their religious outlook:

Hobgoblin Patheon
*Khakkekk the Eight-Armed Chaos Godblin
-Tzeentch/Chen the Deceiver/Tchar

-Khar
-Nurgh
-Slaa
-Tzeen
-Morghur, the Great Prophet
-Morrslieb
-The Great Horned Rat
-Kweethul Gristlegut

Kurgan Pantheon
*The Great Kurgan
-Khorne
-Loesh
-Nieglen
-Tchar
-Krom
-Kullnan the Barbarian Warrior-King°
-Mal Axe-Ender the Greatest Conqueror°
-Tamurkhan the Maggot Lord, "Son of the Great Kurgan," Master of Hosts, Bringer of Desolation, Favored of Nurgle
-Grand Tsar Ungern°
-High Zar Asavar Kul, the 12th Everchosen

Skaven
*The Great Horned Rat
-Tzeentch + Nurgle
-Kweethul Gristlegut
-The Shaper
-Skavor
-Morrskrit
-Warpstone Itself
-Vashtorr the Archifane (Clan Skryre Warplocks getting insane inventions from the future by ODing on Warpstone)
-Dismik° (the evil of Disney/Mickey Mouse personified)

>>
>>6139951
Yeah, don't worry about it, you and Magor will both get a boost before long.

>>
I also came up with an egregore of combined Chaos Gods kinda' like the IRL masonik jubalon or whatever, called Bahbramphanoch, which would be a cross between Hashut, The Great Horned Rat, Slaanesh, Nurgle, & Tzeentch. Worshipped by the Hobgob Khanzars, some offshoot of the Chorf's slave janissaries (Horns of Hashut from AoS), a tribe of hybrid Man-Skaven/Ratlings, Strygany heretics, & perhaps some cults in the Old World.

The Veigs are mentioned as a tribe of Chaos Marauders not identified as belonging to the big four (kurg, hung, tong, norse) so I'm thinking they could worship Malal/Malice/Malign & be a sort of Dravidian-inspired isolationist mountain tribe, like Afghans/Pakis.
>>
