You are a Cutémon!

You are one of the rarest types of mon: a mon that looks like a cute human girl!

Like all mons, you gain energy by fighting and defeating other mons. You are currently a Wild Cutémon and do not have a human trainer.

Last time on Cutémon, your journey to the mon fighting canyon where you hoped to find a clue about Joe and your other friends held captive by the Traders took a turn when you arrived in Ferropolis and met Professor Bean. Believing you to be a human girl, and perhaps due to his stuttering when he laid eyes on your human friend Starr, the world's youngest professor was only too happy to loan you his prototype portable mon scanner for your trip toward the ruins of the ancient alien war in search of missing mons.

After a fight with a turncoat Tamounda, the strange being wiped the forest floor with you and the other mons in an attack that left only Ramster to stand against her! Ramster ended the fight with an attack of his own that drove them both underground and left her too weak to stand. Revealing her reliance on a depleted source of energy and her own vampiric E-Drain attack, the human-type mon Auroara orated her origin as a living weapon against the aliens but was baffled by both her recent revival and the basics of mon biology.

Back at Professor Bean's laboratory, Tamounda got the point and Auroara found herself flush with victory and ready to accompany you. A late-night sparring session along the way between you and Auroara descended into a fight until you were interrupted by Diamond, covetous caretaker of the Bronze Valley Arena. With half a dozen mons at your side, Diamond was defeated and fled with her human accomplice Trent and their mons Rattletrap and Catscan, but not before dropping her car key and giving you a head start to reach the canyon first.

Separated from Starr and her mons, you reunited with your friend Volito who was caught in a cage and nearly empty of energy! 3,000 coins was beyond your budget, and, forced to forget Volito, you once again stood at the edge of an arena floor to trick other mons into thinking you were the target! A sharp-eyed member of the Traders named Raul and his sharp-bodied Yuccaza noticed the effect but not the cause, and as you later spied on Raul meeting with Diamond you learned he was double-crossing the Traders to help capture you... and that your captive friends were being held in Diamond's arena! With Tamounda's timely intervention, you freed Volito, who in turn volunteered the last of his energy to aid your escape. Reunited with Starr and your mon friends, you made for Bronze Valley with Starr driving Diamond's car!

In the tiny town of Patina, you met a human woman named Jennifer, and Psyotee, a blue-furred mon who thought you smelled like Joe! Jennifer took you back to her home for the night, where you met a human girl you had seen once before... in the picture of Joe's sister! Rested and restocked, you started to Bronze Valley when another car tried to force Starr off the road and you were forced to take the wheel when Starr was knocked unconscious!

Your first time behind the wheel took a turn for the worse when you accidentally drove Diamond's car off a cliff into the ocean!

You open your eyes and have to close them again because it's so bright! It seems like you're lying on wet sand! You peek your eyes open and see some strange trees! It seems like you're on a beach somewhere. The last thing you can remember is accidentally driving Diamond's car off a cliff!

What? You just remembered you drove Diamond's car off a cliff with Volito, Ramster, Tamounda, Starr, Waterbear, Clambreak, Chompex, and Auroara inside? You look around but you don't see any of your friends! You look up but all you see is the sun. It feels a lot warmer than it did before!

You look around again and then crawl up onto the beach. It seems like you don't have very much energy! You turn around and sit down and reach into your jacket pocket and take out your Travel Map.

...

You don't know where you are!

You put your travel map back in your pocket. It feels like your pocket is pretty full!

When you touch the Video Game you found in Booker's dojo, you think about how much Ramster likes to play it! You look around on the beach again but Ramster isn't there.

You feel the sack of coins that humans use to buy things! You bought a hat for Auroara so she could hide her horns. When you met Starr, you gave her all your coins so the Traders wouldn't take her mons away. Every time the two of you win a match, Starr gives you half of the coins! The sack is pretty heavy! You hold it in your hand and think about how many coins you have.

...

You don't know exactly how many coins you have! You have 10 coins left over from the reward the Mayor of Tinville gave you for finding his Racclone, and another 20 coins from the match in the canyon where you tricked Haystinger, and another 30 coins from the match Ramster fought that night.

You put the sack of coins back in your pocket and feel the Cutécaptor that Professor Plumtree invented to capture Cutémons! You quickly move your hand away from it, but then you remember Professor Ginger told you that only a human can use it to capture a Cutémon.

What? You just remembered Starr accidentally found out about the cutécaptor when she stopped by a pond to help Volito? A Gulpanga stole the cutécaptor and got swallowed by a Gigapanga, but when Starr caught the cutécaptor you didn't want to tell Starr anything about it and she got upset.

You feel the Car Key for your car parked in the Rust City Arena.

All of a sudden you think about Joe! When you first met Joe, he tied his jacket around your head so humans would think you were a human girl. He wanted to get you a baseball cap, and after you met Mashi and helped her and Volito get the Rust City Arena back, Mashi gave you her baseball cap!

You reach up and touch your baseb...

What? You just realized your baseball cap is missing?

Suddenly you hear a human voice! You look around but you can't see anyone! You try to stand up and fall back down and then crawl further up the beach toward the strange trees as quickly as you can!

You make it into the shadows of the strange trees just as a human man walks around the corner of the beach! He looks around and says "Yo, Surchin! Come on, it's time to head back!"

What? You just noticed your baseball cap come out of the water? It's moving toward the shore! It seems like there's something underneath! You can see a dark shape coming closer to the surface of the water and then a mon that looks like a spiky purple ball comes out of the ocean with your baseball cap on one of its spikes!

You don't know what kind of mon it is!

The mon waddles up onto the shore and says "Surchin!" and holds your baseball cap out toward the human man!

"There you are! I've been looking... huh? What's this?" The human man takes your baseball cap and holds it up and looks at it! "Some kid's baseball cap?"

Suddenly, the Surchin turns around and looks toward you and says "Surchin?"

Look out!

Surchin is challenging Cutémon!

Surchin attacks before Cutémon was ready!

Surchin attacks with Peer!

The human man glances at Surchin starts walking further down the beach and says "Come on, Surchin. I know just where to take this."

Surchin says "Surchin!" and turns around and starts waddling after the human man!

Surchin is fleeing the fight!

Surchin escapes!

You keep watching the human until he gets a little further away. It seems like Surchin is slower than the human, because the human is starting to get further and further ahead!

What? You're thinking about challenging Surchin, even though you don't know what kind of mon it is? Well, you had better do something quickly before the human sees you!

You look around at the strange trees.

It seems like you should be able to sneak around in this place because you know a lot about sneaking around in forests! Even though you don't know anything about the strange trees you're pretty sure you can sneak up on Surchin and ambush it to gain some energy!

You crawl along the sand further into the strange trees. You don't know how the sand in the shade can be so cold when the sand on the beach is so hot! Beyond the far edge of the strange trees you can see the beach curved around again. It looks like Surchin and the human will have to walk all the way around but you can take a shortcut through the strange trees!

When you get to the far edge of the strange trees you pull yourself up to crouch behind one of them and watch the human man walk past.

What? You're thinking about grabbing your baseball cap from the human man but you can't decide what to do?

By the time you look at Surchin and back at the human he's too far away to grab your baseball cap! It doesn't seem like you can reach it without him seeing you now! Maybe you had better try your other plan!

After a moment you crawl between the strange trees toward where the human came from so you can jump out and challenge Surchin but when you get to your hiding spot you don't see Surchin anywhere! You wait a few more moments but you still don't see it! Even though it doesn't walk very quickly it should be here by now!

You look around and suddenly see Surchin standing behind you!

Surchin glares at you and says "Surchin."

Look out!

Surchin is challenging Cutémon!

Surchin attacks with Bully!

Surchin leans back and wiggles one of its bottom spikes and then kicks sand at you!

You can't see anything!

"Surchin!" It sounds like Surchin is right behind you! It's about to...

Cutémon attacks Surchin with Bite!

You jump on top of Surchin and bite one of its spikes as hard as you can!

Surchin says "Surchin!" and rolls over to try and get you to let go! When you hit the sand Surchin rolls over you and you can't help letting go!

When Surchin moves away you notice a big stick within reach! You roll over and grab the stick to use it like a club but it doesn't seem to weigh anything! It feels like it's hollow and falls apart when you grab it!

"Surchin!"

You crawl backwards until you bump into one of the strange trees and look up!

Surchin is waddling closer to you!

You're almost out of energy! You don't know what to do!

What? You want my advice? Well, you have two attacks: a Bite attack and a Trip attack!

what? You just realized Surchin is waddling around on its two bottom spikes? It seems like you might be able to use your Trip attack!

Surchin says "Surchin!" and starts waddling faster but then you roll out of the way and stick out your leg! Surchin trips and falls toward the strange tree!

[SFX: wood crack]

Surchin falls backward away from the strange tree onto the sand in front of you! It seems like Surchin made itself dizzy!

You push yourself forward and bite Surchin's top spike as hard as you can!

Surchin says "Surchin!" and starts spinning around on the sand! It's kicking up sand because it's spinning so quickly! Surchin spins around so quickly that you get hit by one of its spikes and knocked backward!

Surchin leaps to its bottom spikes and looks at you and says "Surchin!"

You can hardly push yourself up off the sand because you're almost out of energy! It seems like Surchin might win this fight after all!

What? You're going to try to push yourself to stand up even though you're almost out of energy? You look at Surchin and put one knee on the sand and then the other knee, and then stand up!

It seems like Surchin is waiting to react to whatever you do!

You and Surchin stare at each other, and then Surchin's eyes widen and it says "Surchin!" as you run across the sand toward it! You jump on Surchin before it can do anything and bite its top spike again!

Surchin says "Surch-!" and starts jiggling and then deflates until your knees are touching the sand!

You can feel the energy from winning your battle reinvigorating you!

"Yo, Surchin!"

The human man is coming back! You run and hide behind one of the strange trees as quickly as you can!

The human man sees Surchin through the strange trees and pushes his way up past where you're hiding. When he gets to Surchin he drops your baseball cap and kneels down and says "Surchin! What happened to you?"

This is your chance! You crawl across the sand as quickly as you can and grab your baseball cap!

Surchin looks at you and says "Surchin..."

"Huh?" The human man looks down. "Hey, where'd that baseball cap go?" He looks around at the strange trees and then back at Surchin. "This is what happens when you wander off! Come on, let's go."

You hide until Surchin and the human man are further up the beach and then stand up and look around.

You've never seen an ocean before! You don't think you'll be able to swim back to Patina because you can't even see the other side!

What? You just remembered you still don't know how to swim?

When you glance back at Surchin and the human man they're almost out of sight!

After you can't see the human anymore, you relax a little and sit down on the sand and lean against the strange tree. Even though you defeated Surchin, you still don't have very much energy! Maybe you should look around for a weak mon to challenge now that you're feeling a little better!

You look around but all you can see are the strange trees and some bushes. It seems like there are a lot of plants around here. It might be easier to see a weak mon if you're out in the open! You stand up and adjust your baseball cap to keep the sun out of your eyes and then walk down the sand back toward the beach and look around at the ocean.

You look as hard as you can but you don't see any swimming-type mons in the water.

After a few moments you look back at the beach and then walk the direction the human man came from.

What? You just noticed a big bush with long pointy leaves near the strange trees?

What? You think it looks like the kind of bush that a weak mon might be hiding inside of? This might be your chance to challenge a weak mon and restore your energy!

You crouch down and crawl across the beach toward the bush.

What? You can hear something snoring inside the bush? It seems like this really is your lucky day! You slowly reach out with both hands and pull the long pointy leaves apart.

What? Big green eyes are looking at you?

Suddenly the bush growls and stands up and you see that it's really a mon that looks like a big green leopard with a mane and tail made of leaves!

It's an Ambusher!

The Ambusher roars and you fall backward onto the sand! You don't think you have enough energy to challenge him!

You look around at the strange trees and then roll over and run across the sand toward one of them! The Ambusher growls and jumps at you but you climb up the strange tree just in time!

When you look back down the Ambusher stops pacing around the strange tree and looks up at you and then reaches his paws up and tries to climb up after you!

You can't help climbing up even higher!

[SFX: branch cracking]

You accidentally grab a branch that breaks and you start to fall backward! Your baseball cap starts to come off and when you reach out to grab it you fall out of the strange tree!

You can't help closing your eyes and crying out in fear!

What? You're still in the air? You peek your eyes open and look around and see Ambusher trying to swipe his paws at you but he can't reach you because you aren't falling!

You look around and see your baseball cap floating in the air next to you! You reach out to grab it when suddenly you get pulled upward through the top of the strange tree!

You break through the leaves and keep moving further up into the air above the strange trees and see Volito floating in front of you!

You're so happy you can't contain yourself!

"Volito! You're alive!"

What? You don't think it seems like Volito recognizes you? Suddenly, you hear a noise behind you!

"VO-LITO!"

You look behind you and see another Volito floating up out of top of the strange tree! Your baseball cap is floating up in front of him!

The Volito in front of you looks at your baseball cap and says "VO-LITO!"

The other Volito says "VO-LITO!" It looks like they're both interested in your baseball cap! Maybe it's because it still smells like Mashi's Volito!

Suddenly the Ambusher growls and when you look down you see him looking over his shoulder and slinking away out of sight through the shadows of the strange trees!

"Come on, Surchin. I know I heard one this time!"

"Surchin!"

What? It's Surchin and the human man?

"VO-LITO!"

Suddenly you fall out of the air and land on the top of the strange tree! You grab your baseball cap just in time and put it back on your head!

When you look up both the Volitos are flying away!

"This is really it! I've been trying to sight a Wild Volito ever since Rudy found his! I knew it wasn't the last one!"

What? The human man is talking about Mashi's grandfather Rudy? You look down through the leaves of the strange tree at them.

Surchin looks up at you and says "Surchin!"

"Huh?" The human man looks up and holds his hand over his eyes to block the sunlight. "It looks like there's something up there. I don't think it's a Volito."

Surchin points one of its spikes up at you and says "Surchin!"

The human man takes a step closer to the strange tree and says "Hello?"

The human man is looking up at you! Even though you don't think he can see you very well, you can't help your cheeks turning red!

Surchin glances at the human and looks back up at you in the strange tree and says "Surchin!"

The human man crouches down next to Surchin and looks up at the strange tree. "I don't know, buddy! It doesn't look like a mon got chased up there. It looks sort of like a person!" The human man stands back up and says "Hello? Can you hear me? Did you get hurt by that mon?"

It seems like the human wants to know if Ambusher hurt you! You're shaking your head!

...

The human man can't see you shaking your head! If you want to tell him anything, it seems like you had better climb down the strange tree!

You carefully reach down and grab the trunk of the strange tree and start climbing down. When you get to the bottom the human man points at your baseball cap and says "Yo, is that your cap? Surchin found it in the ocean! Looks like you must have found it when I wasn't looking! You know, that's pretty impressive, since I'm sort of a local expert on observing things!"

It seems like the human man is talking about looking for more Volitos! You're nodding your head!

"Like those Volitos!"

Suddenly, the human man gets a strange expression on his face and then gives you a big smile! It looks like you said the right thing! "That's right! You must have seen it when you were up in that... yo, what do you mean 'those Volitos'?" Are you telling me there was more than one?"

You nod your head again!

"Two!"

"Two Volitos... that's amazing!" The human man looks at Surchin and says "Maybe I should hire this kid instead!" It seems like the human man thinks you're a human girl!

Surchin looks at you and says "Surchin!" It doesn't sound like Surchin thinks so!

The human man glances down at Surchin and then back at you and says "Don't pay any attention to my Surchin. He's suspicious of everybody. Comes with the game, you know? My name's Ricky, by the way!"

You nod your head again!

"I'm Mashi!"

Ricky holds his hand out toward you! You grab Ricky's hand and shake it up and down! It seems like you're getting pretty good at pretending to be a human girl named Mashi!

"Nice to meet you, Mashi. Have you been here long? I don't think I've ever seen you before!"

Ricky is looking at you! You're not sure what to say!

What? You want me to give you some more advice? Well, it would be helpful if you knew where you are! Maybe you should tell Ricky about being lost!

You give Ricky a determ...

What? You tried to give Ricky a determined look but you started crying instead? All of a sudden it seems like you can't stop crying!

You have a strange feeling in your chest! It feels like you can't stop crying because you don't know where you are and because you don't know where your friends are! You can't breathe because your chest hurts so much!

"Yo! What... what's the matter, Mashi?" Ricky crouches down in front of you. "I didn't mean to be rude, you know?"

"I'm lost!"

You didn't mean to say that out loud! Ricky has a strange expression on his face!

Surchin looks at you and says "Surchin?"

You sniff your nose and look at Surchin and nod.

Surchin looks up at Ricky and says "Surchin!"

"Are you really lost?" Ricky looks around. "You mean, you don't know where you are at all?"

You nod your head at Ricky!

Ricky looks out at the ocean for a moment. It seems like he's thinking about something! He looks at the ocean and then looks at you and says "Do you know where you're from?"

What? Ricky is asking where you're from? You're not sure what to say!

You take your travel map out of your pocket and point at Patina.

"Patina."

"Yo, that's a vintage travel map! Patina, huh? Never been there. Well, you're nowhere near Patina right now. The closest city is Aloi."

Ricky points at a spot on your travel map near the very bottom! It looks like you're in the Southern Islands!

What? You just remembered the real Mashi said her grandfather Rudy discovered Volito while exploring the Southern Islands? Even though Rudy though his Volito was the last one, it seems like there really is more than one living Volito!

"Listen, I was heading to Aloi with my Surchin here. We were going to report to Professor Mulberry that we hadn't spotted any Volitos today, but now... yo, Surch! This might put us both in the big leagues!"

Surchin looks up at Ricky and says "Surchin!"

Ricky looks back at you and says "Anyway, you can come with if you want to. There's a police station near the seaport if you want me to take you there afterward."

Ramster looks up at you and says... what? You just remembered Ramster isn't around? That strange feeling in your chest is getting worse again!

"Are you sure? I'd hate to, you know, be responsible if you got even more lost." Ricky looks down at Surchin. "The Southern Islands aren't exactly people-friendly, right, Surch?"

Surchin looks at you and asks "Surchin?"

You shake your head again and take a step backward! It seems like you had better go now before you change your mind! You take another step backward and then turn and start running toward the strange trees!

"Yo, kid... uh... Mashi! What are you gonna do?"

You look back over your shoulder!

"Find a mon!"

You run further into the grove of strange trees and after a while the strange feeling doesn't hurt as much! You slow down and walk around but you don't see any other mons!

You start walking down a hill but then you slip and fall and slide all the way to the bottom! It seems like you landed in a swamp! There are only a few strange trees down here!

[SFX: thick bubble popping]

A slimy bubble comes out of the swamp and pops and then a mon that looks like a shiny pink axolotl crawls out and looks at you! It's a Lottatax!

The Lottatax looks up at you and says "Lottatax!" and smiles! It's pretty cute!

You smile back at the Lottatax!

[SFX: thick bubbles popping]

"Lottatax!"

"Lottatax!"

What? A bunch of other Lottatax just came out of the ground? Suddenly you're surrounded!

Lottatax attacks before Cutémon was ready!

Lottatax attacks with Fangs!

One of the Lottatax just sneaked up behind you and bit your ankle when you weren't looking! You can hardly stand the pain! You shake your leg and the Lottatax goes flying and lands in the middle of the pack!

"Lottatax!"

"Lottatax!"

The other Lottatax are all looking at you!

You look around but you can't see any way out of the swamp! Before any of the other Lottatax can attack, you run toward one of the strange trees and climb up as high as you can!

"Lottatax!"

"Lottatax!"

The Lottatax all look up at you and then one of them starts chewing on the strange tree! The other Lottatax all swarm around the strange tree and start chewing!

[SFX: wood cracking]

The strange tree starts to sway and then falls over! You can't hold on and land on the ground!

What? You just noticed the strange tree landed on the edge of the hill? You climb onto the strange tree and up onto the top of the hill and run away as quickly as you can!

"Lottatax!"

One of the Lottatax followed you!

You keep running but the Lottatax can run just as quickly as you can! After a few moments you stop and turn around to face it and the Lottatax skids to a stop with its back legs and looks up at you!

"Lottatax!" It seems like the Lottatax is getting ready to jump at you!

Look out!

Cutémon escapes!

What? You're not going to challenge Lottatax because you want to lure it toward the Ambusher? You turn around and run away from Lottatax as quickly as you can!

Lottatax says "Lottatax!" and slaps its tail on the ground and starts chasing you! It's getting closer! It seems like Lottatax is more excited now that you're running away! You keep running deeper into the strange forest but there are too many bushes and vines and you stumble and fall down!

Lottatax jumps over the bushes at you and says "Lottatax!"

Lottatax lands on your back and bites your shoulder! You can't help crying out in pain! You roll over and Lottatax lets go when you roll on top of it but as soon as you get back to your feet Lottatax flips over and jumps at you again!

You crouch down just in time and Lottatax flies into the bushes! Before it can get turned around you start running again!

"Lottatax!"

What? Lottatax is right behind you? It's probably because one of the other Lottatax bit your ankle and it still hurts a lot!

What? You want to know if you're getting close to the Ambusher?

You look around as you run but you don't see the beach or the ocean anywhere! You have to stop running because your ankle hurts so much! You look around but you can't see Lottatax anywhere! It seems like you outran it!

[SFX: bushes rustling]

Lottatax is challenging Cutémon!

Lottatax attacks with Fangs!

Cutémon dodges out of the way!

Cutémon attacks with Trip!

Can't use Trip!

You roll out of the way and kick your foot out to trip Lottatax but it slaps its tail and flips back over! Lottatax backs up and crouches and says "Lottatax!"

You crouch down and give Lottatax a determined look!

"Cutémon!"

Cutémon is challenging Lottatax!

Cutemon attacks with Bite!

It really hurts Lottatax!

You jump on top of Lottatax and bite its tail!

Lottatax says "Lottatax!" and squirms around and crawls out from underneath you! It seems like Lottatax is pretty slippery! When it gets free Lottatax turns around and looks at its tail where you bit it and then looks at you and says "Lottatax!"

You jump at Lottatax again!

Look out, Lottatax!

Cutémon is challenging Lottatax!

Cutemon attacks with Bite!

Lottatax turns and tries to run away but you jump forward onto the ground and grab its back legs and bite its tail again before it can squirm away!

Lottatax can't stand the pain! It starts running in a circle and looking at its tail and then looks up at you and backs up toward the bushes!

Lottatax is fleeing the fight!

Before Lottatax can escape you jump at it and grab it from behind!

Lottatax says "Lottatax!" and kicks all its legs and slaps its tail but it can't get away! Suddenly Lottatax stops and looks up and sees you biting its head!

Lottatax closes its eyes as tightly as it can and says "...Lottatax."

You can feel the energy from winning your battle reinvigorating you!

Even though your ankle still hurts, you feel better!

When you hold Lottatax out and turn it around to face you, it doesn't try to escape! It seems like Lottatax doesn't have much energy left!

You give Lottatax a determined look!

"I want help!"

Lottatax looks up at you and asks "Lottatax?"

You're nodding your head!

"Be my mon!"

Lottatax's spikes all lie back against its head and it squints its eyes and looks up at you. "Lottatax?"

"We'll be partners."

Lottatax looks around at the strange trees. It seems like it isn't convinced!

What? You want my advice? Well, maybe you should offer it something it wants!

You take out your video game and turn it on and show it to Lottatax!

"Want to play?"

Lottatax looks at the video game and then looks up at you and says "Lottatax?"

It seems like Lottatax isn't interested in the video game! You don't know what else to offer it!

You look around at the strange bushes.

What? One of the strange bushes just blinked?

[SFX: growling noise]

You can't help taking a step backward! The Ambusher is a lot bigger than you! You look down at Lottatax in your hands and then hold it out toward the Ambusher!

"Lottatax!" Lottatax is slowly squirming but you hold onto it as tightly as you can and look at the Ambusher!

Cutémon is fleeing the fight!

You can't help taking a step backward and then turning around and running away back through the strange trees!

[SFX: roaring noise]

You can hear Ambusher getting closer! It seems like you're going too slowly for some reason! You look down and see you're still holding Lottatax! Lottatax looks up at you but before it can say anything you drop it on the ground keep running!

"Lottatax!"

You look back over your shoulder and see Lottatax lying on the ground looking up at you!

[SFX: roaring noise]

Lottatax looks back when it hears the roaring and then looks at you! It seems like Lottatax can hardly move!

What? You're really going to go back and grab Lottatax, even though Ambusher is right behind you?

You run back and pick up Lottatax and look down at it!

"Partners?"

[SFX: roaring noise]

You can't help looking up at the roaring noise!

Lottatax is nodding its head as hard as it can! "Lottatax!"

You look around at the strange trees but you don't know where to hide!

"Lottatax!"

What? Lottatax is pointing at a narrow path? It seems like Lottatax knows which direction to go!

When you and Lottatax run down the narrow path you can hear Ambusher roar behind you and then you hear something else roaring in front of you!

Suddenly you come out of the strange forest to an old rope bridge over a raging river!

"Gour!"

"Mami!"

"Gour!"

"Gour!"

"Mami!"

It looks like the river is full of mons that look like big orange fish with sharp teeth!

Lottatax looks down at the Gourmami and then looks at you and asks "Lottatax?"

It seems like Lottatax wants to know if you can swim!

You turn your back to the rope bridge and give the strange forest a determined look!

[SFX: roaring]

You can't help taking a step backward! Maybe that's not such a good idea!

What? You want some advice from me on how to trick Ambusher?

[SFX: roaring]

It sounds like Ambusher is almost here! Maybe the best way to trick Ambusher would be to cross the rope bridge so he doesn't see you anymore!

You look back at the strange forest and then look out at the rope bridge over the cliffside!

"Lottatax!" You look down and Lottatax is pointing down at the Gourmami! You look at Lottatax and nod your head!

"We'll be alright!"

[SFX: roaring]

You grab the rope bridge and put your foot out onto one of the ropes just as Ambusher leaps out of the strange forest and onto the clear area at the edge of the cliff! He swipes his paw at you but you spin around and it just barely misses!

You spin around again and almost lose your grip on the ropes! Lottatax grabs your face and says "Lottatax!"

You can't see anything because Lottatax is stuck to your face! It's really slimy!

Ambusher swipes his paw at you again and you stick your foot out as far as you can and feel around until you step on a rope and then move a little further out onto the rope bridge!

Lottatax climbs off of your face and around your neck! You try to wipe off some of its slime but the wind blows and you almost lose your grip with your other hand!

[SFX: roaring]

You look back and see Ambusher pacing back and forth at the cliffside! It seems like he doesn't think he can challenge you as long as you're on the rope bridge!

The wind blows again and you can't help looking down at the river!

The Gourmami look up at you!

"Gour!"

"Mami!"

"Mami!"

You look back up at the far side of the rope bridge! It looks like it's a long way away! You take one more step, and then another step. It seems like the rope bridge might be sturdier than it looks! You keep stepping along it as carefully as you can.

The wind blows even harder than before! You can't help closing your eyes and grabbing the rope as tightly as you can!

"Lottatax!"

What? Lottatax is pointing at something? You peek your eyes open and look!

It seems like you're already halfway to the other side! You take a step, and then another step.

[SFX: rope snapping]

Suddenly, a rope snaps and the rope bridge drops a little and you almost lose your grip!

Lottatax grabs your neck and says "Lottatax!"

[SFX: rope snapping]

One of the ropes on the far side snaps and the bridge starts to sag! When it does, the rope you're holding snaps and you have to grab another rope!

It seems like the entire bridge is about to break apart! You look around and see a rope that's tied to the edge of the other cliff and grab it so you can swing across to the other cliff!

...

There's another rope keeping it held in place! You give the other rope a determined look!

Cutémon attacks with Bite!

Lottatax crawls around your neck and looks at you biting the rope and asks "Lottatax?"

You glance at Lottatax and keep biting the other rope!

"Lottatax?" Lottatax leans down and looks at you and then climbs out onto the other rope next to your head!

Lottatax attacks with Fangs!

[SFX: rope snapping]

Suddenly the rope breaks and you start falling away from Lottatax! You reach out your hand as far as you can but you can't reach Lottatax!

"Lottatax!"

Lottatax jumps out into the open air and grabs onto your hand with its paws! Even though it's really slimy, it seems like Lottatax has sticky paws!

You're falling through the air along with the rope! Maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all!

When the rope gets stretched tight you start sliding down! You can't help letting go of the rope!

You're falling through the air without the rope! You can't help crying out!

"Lottatax!"

Lottatax attacks with Tongue!

What? Lottatax has a lick attack? Its tongue stretches out and grabs your waist and you both swing toward the other cliff!

"Aah-ah-ax!" You look up and see Lottatax holding onto the rope while it holds onto you with its tongue!

[SFX: loud chewing]

When you look down at the river underneath you, all the Gourmami are eating the rope bridge as quickly as they can!

You look back up at Lottatax and it says "Aah-ah-ax!" and starts to pull its tongue back up! When you can reach the rope you grab on and then you and Lottatax climb up the rope onto the other cliff and you look back over but the bridge and the Gourmami are all gone! You look back over your shoulder at Lottatax.

"Thanks, Lottatax!"

Lottatax says "Lottatax!" and climbs up onto your back again and you look at the path. It seems like the path keeps going through the strange forest! You look over your shoulder at Lottatax.

"Ready?"

Lottatax looks up at you and says "Lottatax!" and you start walking up the path!

After a while, the path turns into a trail, and then the trail turns into a road and when you come to the top of a hill you see a human city with some boats and a big building in the water! This must be Aloi!

What? You just noticed the big building in the water is really a boat?

You start walking down the path toward Aloi!

"Lottatax!"

What? Lottatax isn't following you? You look back at Lottatax. It takes a step backward and then looks up at you and says "Lottatax!" It seems like Lottatax thinks going into a human city is a bad idea! Maybe it's because Lottatax isn't tricked by your baseball cap!

You point at your baseball cap.

"My baseball cap."

Lottatax looks up at you and asks "Lottatax?"

You take off your baseball cap and blink at Lottatax with all four eyes and then put your baseball cap back on your head.

"It's a secret!"

Lottatax says "Lottatax!" and scurries forward to catch up with you but then suddenly Lottatax stops and hides next to your foot and looks up at the sky! "Lottatax!"

You look up at the sky and see a flying-type mon but you can't see very well because the sun is so bright! When you close your eyes and open them again you can't see the other mon anymore!

You look down at your feet.

"What was that?"

Lottatax looks up at the sky and says "Lottatax!"

...

You don't think it's called a Lottatax!

You look back up at the sky again but you can't see the flying-type mon. You look back down at Lottatax.

"It's gone!"

Lottatax looks up at the sky again and then climbs up onto your back! You look over your shoulder at Lottatax.

"Ready?"

"Lottatax!"

You walk along the road down the hill toward Aloi. When you get closer you can hear a lot of humans shouting and a lot of mons too!

Suddenly you come around the corner of a building and see a lot of humans shouting at each other and some mons in cages! It looks like the humans are buying and selling the mons in the cages! You can't help taking a step backward!

Lottatax peeks out over your shoulder and says "Lottatax!" and then hides behind you! It seems like Lottatax has never been in a human city before now!

You look back over your shoulder at Lottatax.

"I'll protect you!"

Lottatax peeks over your shoulder again and then hides again! "Lottatax!"

You take a deep breath and step into the human market. You can't help looking around at all the mons in cages! There are a lot more cages here than you saw in the mon fighting canyon, and you've never seen any of these kinds of mons before!

Lottatax climbs back up onto your shoulder and the two of you keep looking around at all the mons in cages. After a few moments you can see the ocean again. It seems like you're at the other side of the human market.

Suddenly Lottatax looks up and says "Lottatax!"

Lottatax peeks over your shoulder. The human man looks at Lottatax and Lottatax hides behind you again!

The human woman puts one hand on her hip and says "Looks like a clear case of poaching."

"Any mons moving through Aloi require a mon license." The human man looks at you. "It's a good think we ran into you."

The human woman holds out her hand. "We're in charge of collecting the fee. 10 coins."

The purple mon says "Reefin!"

"Hmm?" The human woman glances over her shoulder at the purple mon. "What's the matter, Reefin?"

"Capari!" Both of the other mons are looking at you!

The humans glance at their mons and the human man asks "What's with you two?" It seems like the other mons aren't tricked by your baseball cap!

Alice shakes her head and looks at you and says "We don't need to show you any license! We're in charge of the Aloi mon market, not you! Now hand over the money, or else!"

You give Alice a determined look!

"Or else what?"

The human man can't help laughing!

"Ooh..." The human woman can't believe it! "Jason, stop laughing!"

"This little brat has a lot of fire!" What? The human man thinks you're a fire-type mon? "Too bad we have to throw cold water on you." Jason points at Lottatax and says "Capari, recover that Lottatax!"

The Capari says "Capari!" and flaps its wings and flies up into the sky and then turns and dives downward toward you and Lottatax! It flies downward so quickly that all the sand on the road gets knocked away by the force from the dive through the air!

Look out!

Lottatax attacks before Capari was ready!

Lottatax attacks with Tongue!

Suddenly Lottatax opens its mouth and its tongue stretches out and slaps Capari!

"Cap-AWK!"

Jason can't believe it! He watches Capari go flapping overhead and says "Capari!"

Alice watches Capari and then looks at Reefin and says "Reefin, teach that brat a lesson!"

Reefin says "Reefin!" and then looks past Alice and asks "Reefin?"

Alice looks over her shoulder and says "Use your... huh?"

The two humans look around and both say "Where did she go?"

What? You ran and hid behind a building when the humans were looking at Capari? That might be a good idea! It seems like they don't mind using their mons to bully other humans! You and Lottatax both peek out around the corner of the building and see Jason pick up Capari and look around at the mon market. "When I find that brat and her Lottatax..."

"Reefin!"

"Huh?" Alice looks at Reefin and says "What's the matter, Reefin?"

Jason says "It's the boss!"

You look the other way and see a car coming up the road!

When the car gets closer you can see two human men in the car wearing uniforms. One of the humans is holding a little blue mon that looks like a tiny whale! You don't know what kind of mon it is!

The human man holding the little blue mon leans over and says "What are you two bums doing just standing around talking?"

Jason puts his hand on his forehead. "Hello, General, sir! Your Barleen is looking healthy, General!"

The little blue mon wiggles its flippers and says "Barleeeeeen!" It seems like it's called a Barleen!

The human man holding the Barleen glares at Jason and says "Never mind the flattery! You're supposed to be keeping an eye on the market for rare mons! I've got some private buyers from the mainland coming in later and I want to impress them."

Jason puts his hand on his forehead again. "I've got my Capari watching the whole market, General!"

Jason smiles at the General but the General looks at Capari and says "Your Capari's feathers look ruffled. Something happen to it?"

Suddenly Alice leans in and says "Uh, General, it seems like you're in a hurry! Is something going on?"

The human man holding the Barleen looks around and then leans closer. "There's a rumor some punk saw an entire herd of Volitos. It's bad enough having to deal with the Traders. I don't need a bunch of other outsiders snooping around looking for extinct mons. I'm going over to Professor Mulberry's to make sure this is handled my way."

The General nods his head at the driver and the car suddenly starts rolling forward and slowly drives away up the road!

Alice looks at Jason and asks "What are we supposed to do now? That brat was our only mark today."

Jason looks toward you and you crouch down out of sight! "Come on, let's take another look around the market. Maybe something interesting washed up with that big storm last night."

Interesting. It seems like there are three parties involved in finding the Volitos. I wonder how Ricky spilled the beans about Mashi spotting two of them. That being said, it's good to know Lottatax has a good head on his shoulders. He actually saved our ass a few times already.

You look back at the General's car and see it starting to go around the corner out of sight but then it has to stop because there are some humans in the street! The General starts yelling!

...

You can't hear exactly what he's saying but it doesn't sound very nice! You look back toward the edge of the mon market but you don't see Jason or Alice or their mons!

What? You're going to look around the mon market for a moment because you don't think the General's car is moving very quickly? You can probably catch up to it if you don't take too long!

Lottatax looks up at you. "Lottatax?"

You look down at Lottatax and nod.

"I'll hurry!"

It seems like there are a lot more kinds of mons here than you realized! There are so many cages you could probably build an entire human building out of them. You keep looking around but you don't see any kinds of mons that you recognize!

"See anything you like?"

You're shaking your... what? You just realized you recognize that voice?

You turn around and see Jason and Alice!

You can't help taking a step backward!

[SFX: metal clattering]

You back into some cages and stumble and fall! You have to grab your baseball cap so it doesn't fall off!

All the cages fall on top of you!

That hurt!

"Where is that brat?"

"I think she's under this Zepplime!"

You can hear Jason and Alice trying to find you! Suddenly Lottatax squirms under one of the cages and looks at you and says "Lottatax!" You try to climb under the cage and slip out because of Lottatax's slime! You look down at Lottatax!

"Come on, Lottatax!"

Lottatax jumps onto your back! "Lottatax!"

You and Lottatax run away from the mon market down toward the ocean!

"Lottatax!" Lottatax is pointing up at the sky! You look up and see Capari flying around the mon market! You look around at the beach and see an upside-down little boat and crawl under it just as Capari turns around and flies toward the ocean!

Lottatax looks up at you and whispers "Lottatax?"

When you peek out you see Capari flying away down the beach! It seems like it didn't see you! After another moment you climb out from under the little boat and look up toward the mon market but you don't see Jason or Alice!

[SFX: water splashing]

Suddenly Reefin leaps out of the ocean at you! "Reefin!"

Look out!

Reefin attacks with Mersault!

Reefin does a flip in the air and aims its coral at the beach!

[SFX: loud boom]

You try to run away but Reefin's coral impacts against the beach so hard that the shockwave knocks you forward!

That really hurt!

What? You just realized Lottatax got knocked off of your back? You look around and see Lottatax lying on the beach but it's not moving!

You can't help crying out!

"Lottatax!"

"Reefin!"

You look over your shoulder and see Reefin flopping toward you and then you grab Lottatax and run away from the ocean back toward Aloi!

After a few moments you look back but you can't see Reefin anymore. When you look at Lottatax it's still not moving! You have a strange feeling in your chest! You don't know what to do!

What? You want my advice? Well, who might know a lot about mons?

"Professor Mulberry!"

You didn't mean to say that out loud, but you had better try to do something to help Lottatax!

When you look back up you don't recognize any of the human buildings! It seems like you got turned around and now you don't even know where the beach is! You look down at Lottatax but it's still not moving! The strange feeling in your chest is getting worse! It seems like you're about to start crying!

You look around and see some humans and...

What? You're going to walk up to the humans and talk to them, even though you're shy?

You walk up to the humans and look up at them!

"Professor Mulberry?"

One of the humans looks at you and then looks back away and keeps talking to the other humans! It seems like they're ignoring you!

You look around and see some other humans! Are you really going to to talk to them?

You look down at Lottatax and then look up at the other humans and walk up to them!

"Professor Mulberry?"

"Huh?" One of the humans looks at you and then points up the street and says "I think he's at the end of the road."

You run up the road and look back at the humans!

"Thank you!"

You keep running up the road! Professor Mulberry's laboratory must be just ahead!

Suddenly you come to the end of the road and see the General's car parked in front of a shack! Is this really Professor Mulberry's laboratory?

The shack's door slides open and you crouch down in the strange bushes just as Ricky and Surchin walk out!

What? You just noticed the General and the Barleen and the driver behind them? The General gestures with the Barleen and says "Get in, you!"

Ricky and Surchin look at each other and Ricky asks "Yo, where are you taking us?"

"You're going to show me where you saw the Volitos."

"I didn't actually see any Volitos, I only heard what I thought sounded like them!"

"Then take me to where you heard the sound!" The General gestures with the Barleen again and says "Now get in!"

"Alright, we're getting! Come on, Surch. You heard him."

Surchin says "Surchin!" and climbs into the back seat and the General climbs in next to it and Ricky gets in the front next to the driver.

The car rolls backward and then starts rolling forward away from the shack! You crouch down again and the car rolls past you!

If you're going to follow the General's car, you had better put Lottatax down and run after it right away!

You glance at the car and then run across the ground toward the shack and push the door button! After you push the button you look back at the car as it disappears and then look at the door again.

...

It doesn't seem like anything happened! You look at the door button and then look at Lottatax and push the door button again!

...

You give the door button a determined look and reach out your hand to push it again!

Suddenly, the door slides open and a yellow mon that looks like a carved pineapple on a long flexible stem looks up at you and says "Vine-vine?"

You don't know what kind of mon it is! You look at the other mon and hold out Lottatax!

"Professor Mulberry?"

The yellow mon says "Vine-vine!" and you hear a thump from inside the shack! The yellow mon looks away and says "Vine-vine!"

You can't help peeking inside the doorway!

Inside, you see an old human man lying on the floor! It seems like he got beaten up a little! You run inside and crouch down and the human man looks up at you and asks "Who are you?"

"Ricky's friend!"

The old human man reaches out a hand and you help him sit down on a chair and he looks at you again. "Thanks. I'm Professor Mulberry. You say you're a friend of Ricky? You must have seen what just happened."

You're nodding your head!

Professor Mulberry notices Lottatax and says "What's this? Vineapple, help her get this Lottatax on the table."

The yellow mon says "Vine-vine!" and holds out its leaves to take Lottatax out of your arms!

Vineapple carries Lottatax further into the shack and puts it on a table and Professor Mulberry sits down next to it.

"This Lottatax is completely out of energy!" Professor Mulberry glances at you and looks back at Lottatax and says "Being a rookie mon trainer is no excuse. You should never let a mon get this exhausted."

You can't help taking a step forward!

"Will Lottatax die?"

Vineapple looks at Lottatax and says "Vine-vine!"

Professor Mulberry looks up at you and says "Die? No, it'll probably wake up on its own by tonight. Mons passively absorb energy from the environment around them. It's much slower than the energy taken in after a fight, but this Lottatax isn't quite past the point of recovery."

You take another step forward and look at Lottatax but it's still not moving at all! When you glance at Professor Mulberry you see he's looking at you!

"I suppose you're the girl who saw the Volitos." Professor Mulberry looks out the window and says "The General isn't a very nice man, you know. You should stay away from him."

"In all the excitement, I never asked your name."

What? Professor Mulberry wants to know your name? It's because he thinks you're a human girl! You had better tell him the name you use!

"Mashi!"

"Well, Mashi, you probably want to go help Ricky and his Surchin, don't you?"

You're nodding your head!

Professor Mulberry nods his head and says "I've known Ricky since he was your age and he can take care of himself. The General is getting rich selling mons to people from the mainland, and he's making enough other people rich that no one wants to stop him. Besides, anyone who did would have to deal with that mon of his."

"Barleen?"

You didn't mean to say that out loud but Professor Mulberry is nodding again! He looks at you and points his finger at you and says "The General's Barleen is exceptionally well-trained and can perform all its special abilities. It has a lot more energy than you might think." Professor Mulberry looks around and says "Where are my manners? Why don't you sit down over there?"

You look behind you and see a big comfortable chair in the other room! You look back at Professor Mulberry and he nods and then you go and sit in the chair! It's very comfortable!

When you look around you see a picture on a bookshelf and when you look back Professor Mulberry is sitting down on another chair next to you!

"That's me on the right, if you can believe it. Along with two of my friends."

What? One of the human boys in the picture is Professor Mulberry? It must have been taken a long time ago!

"The one on the left is Booker and the one in the middle is Rudy."

What? Professor Mulberry is saying he knows Booker and Rudy? It seems like he really did know Booker and Rudy when they were very young!

"Vine-vine?" You look away from the picture again and see Vineapple! Professor Mulberry looks at Vineapple and says "Vineapple, why don't you go get our young guest some bread? She looks like she could use a meal."

Vineapple says "Vine-vine!" and bobs away into another room. and Professor Mulberry looks at the picture again.

"I haven't seen either of them for a long time. That picture was taken when we were all in the Mon Scouts."

...

You don't know what that is!

"Mon Scouts?"

"Vine-vine!"

Vineapple is holding a plate on its leaf with some pieces of bread! It smells pretty good! You take the plate and eat a piece of bread!

It's delicious! You can't help eating another piece right away!

Professor Mulberry smiles and looks back at the picture again and says "It was a group for children your age who were interested in mons. That picture was taken in the Northern Mountains. I remember we kept each other awake in our tent telling stories about how we were going to capture a Snowsquash."

You fell asleep in the comfortable chair! When you open your eyes it's already nighttime and there's a blanket on top of you!

Suddenly, a big purple shape looms out of the darkness at you!

Look out!

Surchin attacks before Cutémon was ready!

What? It's just Surchin? Surchin looks at you and whispers "Surchin." You look around but you don't see Vineapple or Professor Mulberry!

What? You just realized that if Surchin is here, then Ricky should be here? You don't see Ricky either! You look back at Surchin!

"Where's Ricky?"

Surchin glances at the door and whispers "Surchin." It seems like Surchin wants you to follow it outside!

[SFX: glass breaking noise]

Suddenly you and Surchin hear a strange noise in the other room! You look at Surchin and Surchin looks at you and whispers "Surchin?"

You get out of the comfortable chair and tip-toe across the floor and peek around the doorway! Surchin peeks over your shoulder and whispers "Surchin!"

What? There's a broken glass jar on the floor? You look around but you can't see anything that would have made it break. You glance up at Surchin and then tip-toe into the other room and look around.

Suddenly a small pink shape leaps out of the darkness at you and Surchin! You can't help crying out!

"Surchin!"

"Lottatax!"

What? It's just Lottatax? Lottatax looks up at you and Surchin and then looks around the room and looks at you again and crawls up onto your back and peeks over your shoulder at Surchin with its spikes flattened against its head. "Lottatax!"

You look over your shoulder at Lottatax and point at Surchin.

"This is Surchin!"

Surchin looks at Lottatax and says "Surchin!"

Lottatax's spikes stand up and it says "Lottatax!"

You look over your shoulder at Lottatax again.

"Hungry?"

Lottatax licks its mouth and says "Lottatax!"

You walk back into the other room and give Lottatax the last piece of bread and Lottatax eats it all in one bite!

"Surchin!" What? Surchin is waddling to the door? It pushes the door button with one of its side spikes and when the door slides open Surchin starts waddling outside.

Lottatax leans forward and then tilts its head up at you. "Lottatax?"

You follow Surchin out the door and when you get outside Surchin looks around for a moment and then starts waddling down toward the beach as quickly as it can! Surchin looks back at you and asks "Surchin?"

It seems like Surchin wants you to come with it!

After Surchin looks back at you it turns around and keeps waddling down toward the beach! It seems like Surchin is going whether or not you go with it!

You look back at Professor Mulberry's shack and then run down the steps and catch up to Surchin!

Surchin looks at you and Lottatax and says "Surchin!" It seems like it's happy you came with! It keeps waddling and when it gets onto the beach it looks around for a moment and then starts waddling down the shore. You look down but you don't know what it's looking at because there are lots of footprints everywhere in the sand!

Surchin looks around at the sand for a moment and then looks at the ocean and says "Surchin?"

You look down at the sand.

What? You don't see any more footprints? It seems like the humans who made the footprints must have gotten into a boat!

Surchin looks around for a moment and then looks up along the shore and says "Surchin!" and starts waddling up the shore as quickly as it can! You and Lottatax follow Surchin all the way up the shore until you get to the edge of Aloi past the mon market. When you pass the mon market, Surchin stops and looks around for a moment and then walks up the hill toward where you came out of the strange trees into Aloi.

It's a good thing the moon is almost full or else you wouldn't be able to see Surchin!

Surchin stops and looks around and then looks at you and whispers "Surchin!" and looks around again!

What? Surchin seems like it's nervous? You can't help feeling nervous!

Suddenly Lottatax says "Lottatax?"

You and Surchin both look at Lottatax and whisper!

"Surchin!"

"Shh!"

Lottatax's head spikes flatten back and it whispers "Lottatax!"

Surchin turns around and starts waddling forward through the strange bushes and then stops and looks back at you. You tip-toe forward through the strange bushes and peek over Surchin and see Vineapple and Professor Mulberry!

What? You just noticed the General and his Barleen, and some other humans all wearing uniforms? It seems like Vineapple and Professor Mulberry don't want to be here!

"That punk and his Surchin might have given us the slip for the moment. You'll have to show us where he saw those Volitos."

What? Is the General saying that Ricky escaped?

"I told you already, General, I don't think we'll be able to find any like this, especially in the dark!"

"You'd better find one, Professor."

Suddenly Lottatax says "Lottatax!"

You look over your shoulder at Lottatax and see some more humans reaching toward you!

Look out!

Lottatax jumps off your back and dives into the strange bushes and two of the humans grab your arms!

You can't help crying out!

"Surchin!"

Two other humans grab Surchin and you feel a rope tighten around your wrists! You can't get away, no matter how hard you try!

The humans push you through the bushes toward the General and one of them says "Sir, our Seeslug found these two inside the perimeter."

"It's that Surchin that belongs to the punk who found the Volitos!" The General can't believe it! He looks down at you and says "Who are you?"

You look at Professor Mulberry and he says "I'm sure she's just a street beggar, General. She obviously didn't mean to come here." What? Professor Mulberry is pretending he doesn't know you? It's probably because he doesn't want you to get in trouble with the General!

"We don't need any onlookers, especially..."

"I can take this brat off your hands, General."

It's Diamond!

Diamond walks out from the shadows of the strange trees into the moonlight and Rattletrap slithers out of the shadows behind her and hisses!

"Ssssssss..."

The General looks back at Diamond. "Why do you care about some street beggar?"

Diamond snaps out her Short Crop and says "This particular street beggar owes me quite a large debt. I plan to put her to work in my arena."

It seems like Diamond doesn't want the General to know you're really a Cutémon!

"Forget about her. Let's talk business." The General gestures toward the ocean with one hand and says "I have a boat ready to take us out to where the Volitos have been spotted."

Diamond waves her Short Crop and says "I'm not interested in any flying-type mons. I'm sorry to have wasted your time, General."

The General can't believe it! "Wait! You can't turn down an opportunity like this!"

Suddenly you feel something tugging on the rope around your wrists! You look behind you and see Lottatax chewing on it! Lottatax looks up at you and bites it again and the rope snaps!

"Keep your Volitos, General. Come along, Rattletrap. Don't forget the brat." Diamond turns and sees you and Lottatax! "What the... grab her!"

You and Lottatax turn around and run toward the strange bushes as quickly as you can and dive into them!

Diamond and Rattletrap try to follow you but they can't find you!

Suddenly Diamond stands up and looks at Surchin and smiles and says "I've had a change of heart, General. Why don't you take me to those Volitos?"

"Really? Excellent!" The General gestures toward the ocean again and says "My boat is right this way."

Diamond looks back at the strange bushes and says "And tell your men to keep an eye on that Surchin."

The other humans push Surchin, Vineapple, and Professor Mulberry through the strange bushes but you wait until they're almost out of sight before you tip-toe after them.

It looks like there's a long wooden dock on the beach with a big boat floating at the end of it! Everyone else gets on the boat and you hear the motor but you're not even on the dock yet!

You run across the beach with Lottatax on your back and run down the dock and jump onto the back edge of the General's boat just in time! You climb up the back and peek over but it doesn't look like any of the humans saw you. You don't even see any humans on this end of the boat!

Lottatax peeks over your shoulder and whispers "Lottatax?"

You glance at Lottatax and nod your head and then climb up over the edge and look around.

What? You think this boat might be bigger than Professor Mulberry's shack? There's even a little building with a door on the boat! Maybe that's where Surchin and your other friends are! You crawl across the floor and hide behind the little building and peek out toward the door just as one of the humans wearing uniforms walks by but he doesn't see you!

You peek out again and see some humans going over to the other end of the boat. This might be your chance to sneak through the door! You look back at Lottatax.

"Ready?"

"Lottatax!"

You stand up and tip-toe across the floor toward the door but suddenly Diamond steps out of the door and grins!

"I knew you wouldn't keep me waiting."

Rattletrap slithers around the corner of the little building and glares down at you and says "Ssssssss..."

Rattletrap's lure is starting to glow.

You look behind you and a bunch of humans step out from the other side of the little building behind you!

Lottatax climbs down your leg onto the floor of the boat and its head spikes flatten back and it looks between Rattletrap and Diamond and says "Lottatax!"

Suddenly Lottatax jumps into the air at Diamond!

Lottatax is challenging Diamond!

Lottatax attacks with Fangs!

[SFX: snapping noise]

What? Diamond just caught Lottatax in midair? Diamond holds Lottatax by the scruff of its neck and grins. "I handle wild mons like you all the time." She looks at Rattletrap and holds Lottatax out toward Rattletrap's lure! "Rattletrap!"

Rattletrap swings its head around and looks at Lottatax!

Lottatax is squirming around as hard as it can but it can't get free!

Rattletrap's lure begins to shimmer and Lottatax can't look away! Suddenly Lottatax goes limp and its tongue hangs out!

Diamond is grinning at you!

The General takes a step forward. "Alright, we played it your way. Now what's so special about this brat?"

The General's Barleen says "Barleeeeeen!"

You look around at the ocean and the human soldiers behind you and then look at Diamond and Rattletrap again!

It seems like you can't help taking a step backward!

Diamond takes a step forward with Lottatax dangling in her hand and Rattletrap slithers forward next to her! "I told you, General. She needs to be taught a lesson about respecting her betters."

You take another step backward and...

Suddenly you spin around and grab the Barleen out of the General's arms!

The Barleen says "Barleeeeeen!"

What? You were only pretending to back up so you could grab the Barleen?

You wave the Barleen around at all the humans!

"Nobody move!"

The Barleen looks up at you and asks "Barleeeeeen?"

"Look out!" The General can't believe it! "Put that... give me that... what are you doing, you crazy brat? Don't you know what kind of mon that is?"

You give the General a determined look!

"You step backward!"

The General looks down at you and then gestures at the other humans wearing uniforms and says "Back!" and they all take a step backward! It seems like they're pretty scared of the Barleen!

You turn around and give Diamond a determined look!

Diamond can't help taking a step backward!

You look at Lottatax but it's still hypnotized!

"Give me Lottatax!"

Diamond looks at Lottatax and then nods and lays Lottatax on the floor in front of her and takes another step backward! She glances up at Rattletrap and says "Rattletrap, do as she says. For now."

It seems like all the humans are going to do what you tell them as long as you're holding this Barleen!

...

What? You don't know what else to do? You look around at the boat and then look at the General!

"And Surchin!"

"Lotta...tax?" You glance down at Lottatax and see it shaking its head and looking around! It seems like Lottatax isn't hypnotized by Rattletrap's lure anymore!

What? You just remembered Vineapple and Professor Mulberry?

You spin around and point the Barleen at the General again!

"Careful, you crazy brat! My Barleen knows how to use Devastation!"

The Barleen looks up and says "Barleeeeeen!"

"Oh, no!"

...

It seems like you got knocked out! When you wake up, you're floating in the water and Surchin is swimming toward the shore with Professor Mulberry and Vineapple holding on to it!

Surchin looks down at you and says "Surchin!"

Professor Mulberry looks at you and says

...

What? It seems like you're already up on the shore! You look around and see Surchin, Lottatax, Vineapple, and Professor Mulberry!

What? You just remembered your baseball cap? You reach up and feel it! Somehow it's still on your head!

Professor Mulberry says "Are you alright? Vineapple and I barely made it out before the boat sank."

Vineapple bobs its head and says "Vine-vine!"

What? Professor Mulberry is saying the General's boat sank? It seems like Barleen really does know a powerful attack!

Lottatax scurries across the sand and looks up at you. "Lottatax?"

You nod at Professor Mulberry and Lottatax.

"Thanks to Surchin!"

Surchin blushes and says "Surchin!" and then turns around and whispers "Surchin!"

You look the way Surchin is looking and see something crawling up out of the ocean! It's the General, Diamond, and Rattletrap!

"Help me get off the beach." You and Surchin help Professor Mulberry up out of sight in the strange bushes. Just as you get into the strange bushes, Diamond and the others start walking up the beach toward you!

"If that brat slipped out of my hands once more..."

"Forget about that street beggar! I still have my Barleen and we still have enough moonlight to find our way to those Volitos."

"I thought you needed that professor."

"He told me enough. I know exactly where they're hiding."

The General leads them right past where you and your friends are hiding but it seems like they don't see you!

After you help him sit down Professor Mulberry looks up at you. "Do you still want to help those Volitos?"

You're nodding your head!

Professor Mulberry nods and says "I'm too tired to go on. Vineapple, you and Surchin go with Mashi."

"Vine-vine!" Vineapple shakes its head!

What? Vineapple doesn't want to leave Professor Mulberry? It seems like you'll have to go on without it!

You look down at Professor Mulberry and see he's smiling at Vineapple! "You're a true friend, better than most humans I know!"

Vineapple says "Vine-vine!"

Professor Mulberry looks up at Surchin. "I'm counting on you, Surchin. Can you make it to where you met Mashi?"

Surchin says "Surchin!" and then walks forward through the strange bushes and looks back at you and says "Surchin!"

You and Lottatax follow Surchin but then Surchin stops and whispers "Surchin!"

When you peek over Surchin you see the General looking back at Diamond and Rattletrap. "Aren't you coming?"

Diamond waves her hand and says "I'll be right behind you. I thought I might have heard something."

Diamond looks over her shoulder at the General and watches him until he disappears out of sight and then looks around and says "I know you're here, you little brat."

What? Diamond knows you're here? Maybe you should stay hidden and hope they go away!

Instead of hiding, you stand up and walk out of the bushes with Lottatax! Surchin says "Surchin!" and waddles after you!

"There you are." Diamond snaps out her Short Crop again and glares at you and says "Do you know how much money a new car costs? You'll have to draw some big crowds to start making up for all the trouble you've caused me."

"Ssssssss..."

What? Rattletrap is slithering around behind you?

Rattletrap's lure is starting to glow.

You glance behind you at Lottatax and point at Rattletrap!

"Lottatax! Attack Rattletrap!"

Lottatax says "Lottatax!" and scurries down your leg and looks up at Rattletrap and then looks back at you and asks "Lottatax?"

"Getting another mon to do your dirty work, little Cutémon? We both know that mon can't use any of its special attacks!"

You give Lottatax a determined look!

"Bite Rattletrap's lure!"

Lottatax is challenging Rattletrap!

Lottatax attacks with Fangs!

Lottatax says "Lottatax!" and jumps at Rattletrap's lure and snaps its jaws shut! Rattletrap can't stand the pain and starts slithering around as quickly as it can with Lottatax dangling from its lure!

You turn around and give Diamond a determined...

What? All of a sudden you feel like you don't have very much energy? You can't help taking a step sideways to keep your balance!

Diamond has a strange expression on her face! It seems like she can tell you don't have a lot of energy! "Feeling a bit faint, little Cutémon? You were too close to that Barleen's Devastation attack and now you're getting weaker by the moment."

You give Diamond a determined look!

"I'm not weak!"

"Oh, you don't have to convince me. Just look how ragged you are compared to when I first saw you. Living on the run isn't very relaxing, is it?" Diamond holds out one hand and gestures at Rattletrap and Lottatax and says "You don't have to live like that anymore. I'll make sure you're well-fed, with a pen all to yourself. Diamond gestures with her hand again and glances at Lottatax and says "Why don't you get rid of that dirty little Lottatax and come with Diamond?"

Diamond is smiling at you and holding out her hand!

"Surchin!"

What? Surchin just noticed something? You look down and see a Sleep Bomb in Diamond's other hand!

You can't help taking a step backward, but the breeze is blowing the purple cloud right at you and making you cough! When you look back up at Diamond you try to give her a determined look but your eyelids are too heavy! You can't see very well because you're starting to get sleepy!

"Ssssssss!"

Suddenly Rattletrap turns and slithers back toward you and Diamond with Lottatax still dangling from its lure! Rattletrap slithers through the purple cloud and runs into Diamond and knocks her onto the ground!

"Aaah!"

"Ssssssss!"

"Lottatax!"

When Rattletrap runs into Diamond, Lottatax gets flung loose and the sleep bomb goes flying up into the air!

The sleep bomb lands on the other side of Diamond and you take a breath of fresh air and start to feel a little more awake!

Diamond lifts herself up off the ground and glares at Lottatax and says "Rattletrap! Finish off that Lottatax!"

Rattletrap says "Ssssssss..." and slithers toward Lottatax as quickly as it can!

Rattletrap is challenging Lottatax!

Rattletrap attacks with Fangs!

Lottatax dodges out of the way!

What? Lottatax was standing in front of the sleep bomb? Rattletrap lunges downward to bite Lottatax but Lottatax jumps out of the way and Rattletrap bites the sleep bomb instead!

Rattletrap rears upward and starts to choke and then swallows the sleep bomb!

Diamond can't believe it! She stands up and runs toward Rattletrap and says "Rattletrap!"

Rattletrap starts to sway back and forth and then looks at Diamond and burps out a big purple cloud in her face!

Diamond starts to sway and then she turns and looks at you and takes a step forward with one hand out, and then Rattletrap and Diamond both fall over at the same time!

[SFX: snoring noises]

It seems like they're both asleep! You look down at them and then reach down and take Diamond's hat off her head and hold it out to Lottatax!

Lottatax looks up at you. "Lottatax?"

"You wear it!"

Lottatax sniffs Diamond's hat and its head spikes flatten back. "Lottatax!"

"Surchin!"

You and Lottatax both look at Surchin and Surchin says "Surchin!" again!

What? You just noticed Surchin is pointing at Diamond's hat with one of its side spikes? You look at Diamond's hat and then hold it out to Surchin.

Surchin says "Surchin!" and puts Diamond's hat on and looks up at it and smiles! "Surchin!"

It seems like Surchin likes hats!

You look down at Rattletrap and Diamond again and then look at Surchin!

"Find the General!"

Surchin says "Surchin!" and starts waddling into the strange bushes!

After a little while you catch up behind the General and Barleen!

The General keeps walking and after a few moments you and Surchin start to follow him. When you get a little further you can see the ocean again! It seems like you're getting close to where you met Surchin and Ricky!

Suddenly Lottatax says "Lottatax!" and jumps off of your back!

"Aaah!"

You turn around and see Ricky trying to keep Lottatax away!

"Lottatax, stop!"

Lottatax looks over its shoulder at you and says "Lottatax?"

You point at Ricky!

"This is Ricky!"

Lottatax looks at Ricky and its head spikes flatten back and then Ricky grins at Lottatax and Lottatax grins back at Ricky and says "Lottatax!"

Surchin says "Surchin!" and waddles toward Ricky.

"Yo, Surch! Where'd you get that hat?"

Surchin is pointing one of its side spikes at you! "Surchin!"

Ricky looks at you and grins and then looks around and says "I saw the General and his Barleen heading toward the beach."

"That's what I wanted you to see, punk."

What? The General is here?

The General stands up out of the strange bushes and points Barleen at Ricky! "I knew I was being followed."

Barleen says "Barleeeeeen!"

Lottatax scurries behind your foot and flattens its head spikes and says "Lottatax!"

Suddenly the General looks at you and says "You! I don't know how you managed to get off that boat, but you're not getting away again." He looks at Ricky and says "And now that I know this is the right place, we don't need you either."

"VO-LITO!"

You look up at the sky and see a Volito floating above you!

The General can't believe it! "A Volito! We're going to be rich!"

Ricky can't believe it! "You can't! It's too rare to sell!"

"Shut up, punk. It's about time I dealt with all of you." The General waves Barleen at Ricky and Surchin and says "Go stand over by that brat and her..."

"VO-LITO!"

"VO-LITO!"

You look up and see two more Volitos floating down out of the sky!

The General can't believe it! He looks up at the Volitos and then grins at Barleen and says "We're going to be very rich!" The General looks at you and Ricky and says "But first I need to take care of you!" and then points Barleen at you but then the General gets a strange expression on his face and looks up at you!

What? The General is looking up at you? It's because you're floating up into the air! You look around and see Lottatax and Surchin and Ricky floating up into the air next to you! You keep floating higher and higher!

Lottatax says "Lottatax!" and reaches out its front paws and tries to grab the ground but it just spins until it's upside down and keeps floating up!

The General shouts "Get back here!" and then takes a step backward onto a strange bush and says "Barleen, use..."

You and your friends keep floating up higher and higher into the sky and through the clouds and when you float through the top of the clouds you see more Volitos than you can count floating all around you!

"VO-LITO!"

"VO-LITO!"

"VO-LITO!"

"VO-LITO!"

One of the Volitos floats closer to you and looks at your baseball cap and says "VO-LITO!" and the other Volitos all say "VO-LITO!" at the same time!

"I can't believe it!" Ricky keeps trying to look behind him at all the other Volitos while he's floating. "Yo, Surch, are you seeing this?"

Surchin wiggles its spikes and says "Surchin!"

Lottatax keeps tumbling head over tail in a circle and when it finally faces you it says "Lottatax!" and sticks its tongue to your back and then reels itself onto your back!

"Hey, where are you going? Come back!"

When you look up you see most of the Volitos starting to float away into the clouds! A few of the Volitos float closer to you and your friends and then you and the Volitos all start to float away across the top of the clouds! You can't even see all the other Volitos anymore!

What? You're all starting to sink into the clouds? You can't see anything!

When you come out the bottom of the clouds you see Vineapple and Professor Mulberry on the ground below you!

Vineapple looks up and waves its leaves and says "Vine-vine!"

"VO-LITO!"

"VO-LITO!"

"VO-LITO!"

"VO-LITO!"

Professor Mulberry can't believe it! "V...Volitos! They really are still alive!"

Ricky looks down at Professor Mulberry as you all float downward and shouts "Yo, Professor Mulberry!"

"Ricky! Mashi! I don't believe it!" Vineapple helps Professor Mulberry stand up as you land on the ground and then he smiles and looks around at the Volitos and then looks at you. "I suppose we have you to thank for this."

You can't help your cheeks turning red!

Ricky crouches down in front of Surchin and says "You alright, Surch?"

Surchin says "Surchin!" and then one of the Volitos floats between them and says "VO-LITO!"

Ricky looks over his shoulder at Professor Mulberry. "Professor, what are we gonna do about these Volitos?"

Just so our friend Volito back on the mainland isn't lonely maybe a female so he can score, kek, but we should ask one of the Volitos if they're okay with that. If we're going to be a bit more pragmatic about this, we're in bad need of another Mon after that crash. Neither Tamounda nor Ramster got swept with Mashi to the island, and there is no way everyone in the car survived the accident. It's a miracle that it didn't end the quest. Auroara probably made it out one way or another, but who knows who else did. What Diamond said about her car also implies that whoever survived and ended up back on the mainland was captured. That crash was technically Mashi's fault, so it wouldn't be far fetched to assume one or two of her friends wants her dead now.

You look at the Volitos and then look at the humans and then look at the Volitos again!

What? You can't decide if you want to take a Volito with you?

"You both already know my feelings about this." Professor Mulberry looks at the Volitos. It seems like he's thinking about something! "If word gets out that there really are more Volitos, every mon dealer on the mainland is going to want one."

Ricky nods his head. "Then they might really go extinct!"

It seems like the humans think it would be a good idea to keep the other Volitos a secret!

Professor Mulberry looks away from the Volitos toward you. "What do you think, Mashi?"

You're nodding your head!

"It's our secret!"

Vineapple bobs its head and says "Vine-vine!"

"Surchin!"

"Lottatax!"

Professor Mulberry pats one of the Volitos and says "Well... it's certainly been a night to remember. I think it's time we let these Volitos get back to hiding." He looks at you and Ricky and says "Ready to go home?"

"Yo, Professor, with everything that happened I forgot to tell you..." Ricky leans close to Professor Mulberry and whispers something in his ear while both humans look at you!

Professor Mulberry nods his head. "I see... so you came here from Patina?"

You're nodding your head!

"I think we can get you back to the mainland." Professor Mulberry looks at Vineapple and says "Vineapple, will you check the seaport schedule?"

Vineapple says "Vine-vine!" and bobs toward the computer in the corner.

What? Vineapple knows how to use a computer? It seems like Vineapple's MIND stat might be higher than yours!

Vineapple looks away from the computer toward Professor Mulberry and says "Vine-vine!"

It seems like Vineapple really does know how to use a computer!

Ricky leans toward the computer and then looks up at you. "A ticket is 30 coins. Looks like the next passage for the mainland leaves tomorrow morning."

You know you have enough coins because Starr gave you 30 coins for helping with the match in the mon fighting canyon!

"I have enough!"

"All you have to do is go to the ticket counter and tell them you want a ticket to Bronze Valley and they'll take you straight there."

What? The boat is going to float straight toward Bronze Valley? Even though you don't have very many of your friends with you, it seems like you'll have to try to rescue Joe and the others!

"Why don't we get some sleep and in the morning we can see our young friend off?"

Ricky crouches down next to Surchin. "You ready for bed, Surch?"

"Surchin!"

You crawl back into the comfortable chair and pull the blankets over you and fall asleep with Lottatax on your lap!

The next morning, you wake up and Vineapple holds a bag full of crackers out to you! "Vine-vine!"

"Vineapple thought you might like a snack." Professor Mulberry looks at Ricky. "Will you show Mashi to the seaport?"

Ricky looks at Lottatax. "What about her Lottatax?"

Professor Mulberry shakes his head. "There's no mon license required to take mons out of Aloi or bring mons into Bronze Valley. You shouldn't have any problems taking it through the mon detectors at the seaports."

What? You just remembered seaports have mon detectors just like the kind in arenas?

Ricky walks toward the door and says "Let's go, Surch!"

"Surchin!"

Lottatax peeks over your shoulder at you and says "Lottatax?"

You give the door a determined look and then follow Ricky! When you get to the door you look back at Professor Mulberry.

"Goodbye, Professor Mulberry!"

"Goodbye, Mashi! Have a safe voyage!"

"Vine-vine!"

Ricky and Surchin lead you and Lottatax all the way across Aloi to the seaport. When you get closer, you can see a huge boat! Is this really the boat you're going to ride on?

Ricky points at a line of humans in front of a small window. It looks like a human is standing on the other side of the window! That must be the human who sells tickets for the huge boat!

"Think you can handle it from here?"

You look around at the line of humans in front of the window and then look back at Ricky.

What? You're only nodding your head because Ricky still thinks you're a human girl?

"Are you sure? You look a little upset."

You nod your head again and then look at Lottatax!

"We'll be alright!"

"If you're ever in Aloi, you know where to find me! Come on, Surch!"

When you stand in line with the humans you see a big metal hallway all the humans are walking through. It looks like a mon detector!

You can't help backing up through the crowd of humans!

"Hey, watch it, kid!"

"Look out where you're going!"

When you're back on the sand you walk around for a little while and then sit down.

"Lottatax?"

You look at Lottatax but you can't say anything because you have a strange feeling in your chest! It seems like you'll never see your friends again, and Diamond might find you if you stay in Aloi!

What? Your face is wet? That's because you're crying!

"Surchin!"

What? Surchin is here? You look around but you don't see Ricky! When you look at Surchin again, it says "Surchin!" and wiggles its side spikes at the huge boat! It seems like Surchin is offering to help you sneak onto the huge boat!

"Lottatax!"

Lottatax is looking at you! When you wipe your eyes, Lottatax looks up at Surchin and then looks at you. "Lottatax!"

Surchin says "Surchin!" and wiggles its side spikes!

What? You just realized you have two friends right here? You wipe your eyes again and smile at Surchin and then look at the huge boat again and shake your head at Surchin.

"Humans buy tickets!"

What? Are you really going to stand in line with the humans to buy a ticket, even though you'll have to walk through the mon detector? It seems like you have a plan! You nod at Lottatax and it climbs up onto your back and then you hug Surchin!

"Thanks, Surchin!"

"Surchin!"

[SFX: loud boat horn]

It sounds like the huge boat might be getting ready to leave! You had better hurry!

You and Lottatax run back to the line of humans and after a little while you get to the window! The human on the other side looks at you.

...

You're supposed to tell him where you want to go!

"Bronze Valley!"

The human nods. "Thirty coins."

...

You don't know exactly how much that is! You reach into your jacket pocket and take out your sack of coins and hand it to the human. The human opens it and glances at you and then counts out 30 coins and hands you back the sack and a ticket!

"Your cabin number is on the ticket."

When you get in line to go through the mon detector you look over your shoulder at Lottatax and whisper.

"Hide, Lottatax!"

Lottatax whispers "Lottatax?" and then crawls under your jacket!

When you walk through the mon detector it makes a beeping noise and then a human man wearing a uniform stops you and asks "Do you have any mons on you?"

Lottatax peeks out from your jacket and says "Lottatax!"

The human can't believe it! "Hey, didn't they tell you that you have to properly check your mon?"

Suddenly one of the humans standing in line yells "Hurry up!"

"Yeah, hurry up!"

"Let's move it, already!"

The human wearing a uniform runs his hand through his hair and then looks down at you and Lottatax. "Is this your only mon?"

You're nodding your head!

"Alright, next time, make sure your mon goes through the mon entrance."

What? You're already on the other side of the mon detector? It seems like you really will get to ride on the huge boat all the way to Bronze Valley! You follow some other humans into the boat and up some stairs and come out onto the top of the boat!

When you look over the railing you can see Surchin on the ground! Surchin looks up at you and waves one of its side spikes and says something but you can't hear it because Surchin is too far away! It seems like the huge boat really is huge!

"What? My hat? That mon has my hat!"

It's Diamond and Rattletrap!

"Stop! Turn this barge around!" Diamond looks over the railing at Surchin again and then looks toward your direction!

You hide behind another human just in time!

When you peek out from behind the other human, you can see Diamond and Rattletrap looking the other way. It seems like this is your chance! You crouch down and hurry back to the stairs and run all the way down to the very bottom and then push open a door and find some more stairs with no lights!

Are you really going to go down the other stairs into the dark?

You peek back out the door and see Rattletrap's shadow coming around the corner and then close the door and walk down the stairs into the dark!

After a moment you can see a light at the bottom of the stairs and when you get to the bottom you see stacks of big boxes everywhere. It seems like this is where the crew stores their supplies!

Lottatax peeks over your shoulder and says "Lottatax?"

You look back at the stairs and then walk up and down the rows of big boxes. It seems like there are lots of places to hide around here!

"Lottatax!"

"Wooooooldozer!"

Suddenly a mon that looks like a dirty sheep steps out of the shadows! It's a Wooldozer!

What? You just realized Wooldozers aren't usually this dirty? It's probably because this Wooldozer is down here at the bottom of the huge boat!

"Wooooooldozer!"

What? The Wooldozer is challenging you?

Look out!

Wooldozer attacks before Cutémon was ready!

Wooldozer attacks with Pushback!

Can't block TK attacks!

Suddenly Wooldozer's eyes flash and you feel an invisible force pushing you and Lottatax backward! Even though you try to run forward you keep moving backward!

Lottatax says "Lottatax!" and jumps off your shoulder toward one of the big boxes! When Lottatax lands on the box it scurries up the side and then looks down at Wooldozer and says "Lottatax!" and jumps down!

Lottatax is challenging Wooldozer!

Wooldozer attacks before Lottatax was ready!

Wooldozer attacks with Pushback!

Lottatax gets knocked back out of the air onto the floor next to your feet! When Lottatax lands it looks up at Wooldozer and its head spikes flatten back and it says "Lottatax!"

You give Wooldozer a determined look but then Wooldozer's eyes flash again and you get pushed back even further!

Suddenly, a dirty human man grabs your shoulder!

"What's goin' on here?"

When you look over your shoulder at the dirty human man you see a crowd of humans and some mons on the other side of a door! It looks like a mon fight!

The dirty human man looks at you and then looks at Wooldozer. "You're supposed to be roundin' up stray mons, not passengers!"

Wooldozer's eyes flash again and it says "Wooooooldozer!"

The dirty human man sees you looking through the doorway and quickly slams the door and glares down at you! "Forget you saw anything! That's just for the crew!"

Having friends (in low places) on the ship could prove helpful, and people like these are often better at keeping secrets.

The dirty human man frowns at you again. "Where are you supposed to be?"

...

You don't know what he's talking about!

"The cabin number! It's on your ticket!"

You take out your ticket and look at it, but you can't read any of it! You look at Lottatax and Lottatax leans over your shoulder and looks at the ticket.

...

Lottatax can't read the ticket either!

Suddenly the dirty human man grabs your ticket out of your hand and holds it up to his face and looks at it closely.

"Cabin four-fifteen!" The dirty human man holds your ticket back out to you and shouts "Now get back up where you belong!"

You can't help taking a step backward!

Lottatax peeks over your shoulder and flattens its head spikes and says "Lottatax!"

Wooldozer takes a step forward and says "Wooooooldozer!"

"Get outta here or I'll have my Wooldozer throw you and your mon over the side!"

You take another step backward and then turn and run back toward the stairs! You can hear the dirty human man laughing as you run away! When you get to the stairs you climb back up into the dark and peek out the door but you don't see Rattletrap or Diamond.

Lottatax peeks out next to you and asks "Lottatax?"

You look down and nod and then tip-toe out the door and back up the stairs. When you get to the top of the stairs and out to the railing you walk around to the other side and look down at your ticket again.

What? You just noticed a big dirty thumbprint on your ticket? It's probably from the dirty human man!

Suddenly you bump into something big and scaly that says "Ssssssss..."

It's Rattletrap!

You turn around and run away as quickly as you can! Rattletrap slithers after you back down the stairs and out onto another level of the boat!

When you get around the corner a door slides open and you run inside just as the door closes and Rattletrap comes around the corner! It seems like Rattletrap didn't see you!

"Is there something I can help you with?"

What? There's a human man wearing a uniform inside the room with some other humans wearing uniforms? It seems like his uniform is a little different than the others!

You hold up your ticket!

"Cabin four-fifteen!"

The human man smiles and nods and says "I think I know where that is. Do you want me to take you there?"

You're nodding your head!

The human man looks at one of the other humans and asks "Can you take over for a few moments?"

The other human says "Yes, Captain!"

What? This is the captain of the huge boat? It seems like he's going to show you where your cabin is!

The Captain leads you across the ship and down a hall with lots of doors all along both walls. After a little while he stops at a door and says "This is your cabin."

You open the door and see a room with a bed and window inside! Is this really where you get to sleep tonight?

You look at the Captain and he nods at you and gestures inside! You had better say something!

"Thank you, Captain!"

"I'm always happy to help out a passenger." The Captain points at a switch on the door and says "This is the door lock. If you or your mon need anything else, just ask one of the crew."

When you walk inside and shut the door, Lottatax jumps off your shoulder onto the bed and looks around at the room and then looks at you and licks its mouth and says "Lottatax!" It seems like Lottatax is hungry!

What? You just remembered Vineapple gave you a bag full of crackers before you left Aloi? You take out the crackers and hold one out to Lottatax and it sticks out its tongue to grab the cracker!

As soon as it gets the cracker in its mouth Lottatax eats it and then sticks out its tongue and tries to grab some more crackers! It seems like you might have to fight Lottatax for the rest of the crackers!

You give Lottatax another cracker and then eat two more crackers as quickly as you can! Lottatax looks back up at you and you give it another cracker and then eat another two crackers as quickly as you can! After a few moments all the crackers are gone!

Lottatax looks up at you and asks "Lottatax?"

You turn the back upside down and a crumb falls out but Lottatax sticks out its tongue and catches the crumb and then scurries under the bag and looks up into it and says "Lottatax!"

What? You just remembered the door lock? You drop the empty bag on top of Lottatax and jump off the bed and quickly lock the door! After the door is locked, you look back at the bed and Lottatax peeks out from under the bag. "Lottatax?"

It seems like you might be safe as long as you stay in your cabin! You walk back over to the bed and sit down on it. It's pretty comfortable!

...

[SFX: loud boat horn]

What? You fell asleep on the bed and it's already the next day? When you sit up and look out the window you see a big city and a huge round building. Is that the Bronze Valley Arena?

What? You have a strange feeling in your chest? It's probably because you know that you have to go there to rescue your friends!
