It has been 100 years since ancient beings, known as the Old Ones, walked the Earth with their two strong feet. Now they are gone and we animals now rule the remains that they left behind. With our new knowledge of sword and sorcery, we were able to survive in peace for a while, but then came the three factions.
The Apes: Strong giants, claiming to be as just as the old ones and believe they should be the ones to rule over the new world.
The Pigs: An intellectual but slothful group who wish to rule the world with an iron hoof and remain kings while the others remained as dumb animals.
Then there the Lizards: A fast and large group that want to set the world a blaze. Trying to forget the harsh past that the old ones left.
All three sides wishing to go war and destroy one another to bring in what they believe to be true peace.
But, unbeknownst to everyone, there was another group. One that was trying their best to find a way to heal everyone. To bring back order.
You found it.... and now you are taking care of it.

A D&D Homebrew Adventure.

Last Time on the ROTA Campaign.
>The group learned more about Rabbit Lore and was invited to party...
>That was it.
>Figured it was needec since our group had a hard fight in the previous thread.
>You guys deserve a break and you are going to enjoy that break.
>Go ahead and have your characters relax.

Also it's any file now.

Looks like our cover images are degrading in quality, lel
Is Maggie back to being a human now? And where is she?
>>
>>5854971
She is still Bnuuy and she is in the Saloon with Mog and Ursus.

So Kinny what are you doing right now?
>>
>>5854974
For some unknown reason, or possibly due to the ring magic, Kinny has fallen into deep sleep while others proceeded to go about their business with rabbits. The cat was just now regaining his consciousness on a structural beam of what looked like the saloon. Did he get here by himself or did someone stuff him on almost in the ceiling? Didn't matter and the place was cozy. The rogue... stretched, and then stretched again, as felines tend to do and after about a minute or ten of just stretching and listening to the noise below, he managed to convince his cat body to roll off the wooden beam. Once he landed on the ground, the cat checked whether all of his things were in their place and then veeeery slowly shuffled towards where most familiar noises were coming from.
>Which members of the group can the cat see (I'm taking into account Mog/Ursus might be late, so let's focus on the other members of our group)
Also, please describe what I see if you don't mind. Since Kinner just woke up and remembers little to nothing from before the power nap.
>>
>>5854984
>After a very busy day of selling most of your "Fertility Statues" you took a nap and rested up near the saloon.
>You were awoken by the drunk singing coming from Maggie singing a strange song from earlier.
>Thankfully, Ursus was able to get her to shut the fuck up and not sing the rest of such a cursed song.
>Though she was still singing about how she was Never Gonna Give You Up.
>After a while the band continued to play some good music afterwards.

>Outside you hear some rabbits panicking.
>You could definitely hear what it was about.
"WHERE'S THE BASS!"
"THE BASS IS STILL MISSING!"
"WE COULD HAVE SWORE IT WAS OVER AT THE CHURCH!"
"WHERE'S THE INSTRUMENT!?"
"DID SOMEONE STEAL IT!?"
>Seems to be something about a stolen instrument....
>You then remember you stole an instrument recently.
What do you do Kinny?

Kinny was sleeping inside the saloon, on one of the structural beams near the roof
Hearing the rabbid screaming, Kinny was shaken sober by a horrible realization. The instrument they were supposed to "find" (as Mog put it) wasn't found yet. Matter of fact, due to relocation of the group and possibly the goods cart where the BASS was located, the damn thing could be farther from being located than before. At least for him.
>Rolling Perc to spot Bobby in the crowd so we can mobilize the "search" squad (assuming she knows where the guitar currently is)
That cover isn't nearly as bad as I thought it'd be.
>>5855000
Hello hello
>>
>>5855017
>You spot Bobby tending to a drunk Maggie.
>She seems to be giving her her own instant sober technique.
>Which seems to be smelling fish.
>Though Maggie seemed to want tovomit more than sober up.
"Huh. That usually works."
>Bobby says to herself.
>She then spots Kinny.
>Wanting to be a more secluded area, Bobby then moves Maggie to a much safer area.
>Where Kinny can join in and hopefully they can talk more in private.
Kinny make a stealth check (DC: 5)
>>
Rolled 19 + 7 (1d20 + 7)

>>5855027
The cats expertly slink into the countertop shadow and leave the room stone faced. Very professional.
>>
>>5855027
>>5855028
Once outside the loud room and alone, Kinny wasted to time. "The bass from church, where is it now?" The cat had hoped to say something more epic, fit to the clandestine mission he had envisioned in his mind, but... well, turns out that bringing a guitar into a room full of rabbits and telling them you found it instead of stole it is not that big of a deal.
>>
>>5855028
>You easily slip into the area Bobby wanted you to be at.
>Maggie sitting next to her looking ready to pass out.
>Bobby then went up to Kinny.
"So... is this about the statues... or the lute we recently "found"? Because if it's about the lute, we definitely can find it easily. Question is how do we tell them we found it without raising any suspension? I mean... we did technically steal it. But how were we supposed to know bunnies came in here for a yearly event?"
>>5855034
"Should be with the rest of the loot. Ord and Potato had it last and they were hiding with me. So that means... it's probably near those metal bins behind the church."
>Bobby explained.
"So how are we going to explain why it was behind there?"
>>
>>5855040
Ya know we could just say we found it amongst the museum
>>
>>5855040
"Weren't you around when Mog said we were supposed to go looking for it?" The wannabe mastermind reminded the red cat. "We just tell Ord and Potato to bring it through the front door like they were delegated to the task. The rabbits have no reason to be suspicious."
>>5855046
Kots are in a private room right now
>>
I'm here, just give me a minute to catch up.
>>
>>5855050
"I was a little drunk alright."
>Bobby admitted.
"Alright I'll tell Ord and Potato to do that. In the meantime you sober up little miss singer here."
>Bobby then handed bunny Maggie to the cat.
>Maggie then looked over to Kinny.
>Her eyes widening a bit.
"Holy fuck!"
>Maggie swore.
"Kinny.... you're as tall as I am now! How'd that happen? Did you work out?"
>Bobby then left to find Ord and Potato.

>>5855046
>>5855051
If I remember correctly you two were getting Mead.
>>
>>5855053
True
>>
>>5855053
"I... maybe? What?" Kinny was caught off-guard by the drunken rabbit babbling before realizing how absurd Maggie's question really was. "How- no, why did you even get this shitfaced in the first place? Come with me." The cat responded while trying to get the drunggie to follow him to the empty room he and Bobby were in just a minute ago.
>>
>>5855063
>Maggie drunkenly follows you.
>>
>>5855065
I... honestly have no idea what to do with her.
Once Maggie was placed in her own room, Kinny went back to get some water from the rabbits. The cat wasn't sure what to do with the obnoxious, yet strangely obedient creature that was put under his watch beyond filling her stomach with things that were not alcohol. He was glad she wasn't at her full size, at least.
>>
>>5855053
I was gonna order Ursus some mead, while I had an ale, but then I changed my mind and we were gonna go leave and find Adler and the cats and deal with the lute situation before we all got tired and sick and the thread ended. If we don't know Kinny (who we thought was with Ord and Potato) is in here then I imagine we'd wander off outside. Though we can play it off as not being immediately important and just have those drinks so we don't wander away from the rest of the party. Or just say we notice Bobby leaving and go to take care of the still drunk Maggie.

>>5855053
>>5855055
Just as Mog was about to leave to find Adler and see what the deal was with the lute situation, Bobby ran past him out the door. Confused, Mog turned around to see where she came from and what the deal was. Why had she just left Maggie alone?

He tugged on Ursus, indicating they should go take care of the drunk Old One, then walked over to the little alcove past a half open door where he'd spotted her, having still not spotted the stealthy cat he'd been looking for earlier.
>>
>>5855069
>Ursus goes over to the alcove mog indicated.
Let’s go take care of Maggie and maybe solve whatever the situation is with the loot
>>
>>5855068
>Maggie then drank the water.
>She was becoming a bit more sober.
>Though she was a tiny bit drunk.
>Worst part now was she was becoming the worst kind of drunk.
>The talk too much drunk.
"Kinny.... you're a fine guy. I wish you were there during my time. You would have listened to all my problems. I was just a private. Nothing more, nothing less. I don't think I was ever in a fight.... wait... no... I think I was.... I was I was in a trench with ten different people. I had my ice gun and everything. I remember breathing heavily. I think I was scared of something. Probably from dying from the draconians. I also remember there being a ton of blood. Maybe I was holding someone who was injured. There were people screaming and, and screaming. I think someone important was dying. They then said, "get Stone!", I believe we had a officer named stone in there. But fuck if I know. Next thing I know I found myself knocked out.... and woke up to see you guys surrounding me. You were a lot smaller back then. But if you were there with me a hundred years ago... maybe we could have saved that guy whoever they were."

>>5855069
>>5855072
"No need to come in. Kinny is with her. Though I could use your help lifting a lute up!"
>Bobby explained.
>>
>>5855077
> Ursus gently picks up the loot in both hands
So let’s go bring this back to the rabbits
>>
>>5855077
>Ursus responds to Maggie.
Maybe we could have but that’s the past we can’t change what happened to you but we can help you today don’t let past mistakes haunt you, learn from it and move on as bitter a fact that is we can talk about your past when you’re not impared ok
>>
>>5855080
I think you'll have to go behind the church with Ord and Potato to see if it is even still there first. Though if the trip is merely a formality then there is no issue.

>>5855077
>>5855063
"Ursus, go with her, get the lute, explain to the rabbits that you found it. I'll catch up with Kinny. We'll have the rest of those drinks afterwards." Mog concluded after a moment's deliberation.
>>
>>5855091
Will do
>>
>>5855091
Mog you should probably help Maggie deal with her trauma you and her have both been in great conflict and lost people, you would be more capable of helping her than me
>>
>>5855080
>>5855091
>>5855094
>Bobby led to Ursus, Ord, and Potato to the lute.
>Ursus could easily grab the lute with relative ease and carried back to the rabbits.
>Bobby gave specific instructions to the two dumb cats.
>Telling them to say they "Just found it".
>Nothing More.
>Nothing Less.
>Ursus then went to give Ord and Potato the giant lute to give to the bunnies as he then went to check on Maggie.

>>5855077
>>5855087
>>5855091

>While Kinny was there to listen to the full story, Mog and Ursus kind of joined during the middle of it.
>Still it was a bit easy to understand.

Throughout the entire story Kinny just stood like a statue and blinked rapidly. "That's uh. It's quite a sad story, but doubt we could've helped much back then." The cat said and coming back to his senses, he lowered his voice. "But you should keep it low, those fucking wabbits don't know you're an old one." The cat's tail whacked the floor. Next time he will remove himself from the situation before another wartime story outpour happens.
>>
>>5855110
I feel like my asocial traits really seeped into this one. Didn't mean to shut her down, I just can't respond to serious things or provide any emotional support. Or empathize with drunk people, lmao.
>>
>>5855114
This isn’t a bad response it’s in character for kinny
>>
>>5855114
Sorry if I am ruining this for you Kinny. Was just trying to give you something to do.
>>
>>5855115
Yes, cats are often as emotionally and personally invested in stuff others find important as I am, making them perfect vessel for this kind of behavior.
>>
>>5855099
"I'll give it a try, I'm not sure if her babbling is from trauma or excitement to share, but I'll listen to her and see what I can offer." The veteran replied.

>>5855077
>>5855105
Mog listened in sombre silence. When she was done, the wolf cleared his throat and asked in a low voice "Maggie...how do you feel about all this? Excited? Are you just eager to share? Do you wish you could've saved him, are you pained that you couldn't? What do you mean we were right there with you?"

He was about to say more, but decided it was better to let her speak. He didn't want to push her thoughts in any direction. Part of dealing with the horrors and the potential trauma of war was processing what you hear and see and what you feel. The moments after battle are some of the most important as they imprinted upon your psyche moral injuries if one allowed themselves to think they'd done something wrong, among other lasting traumas, but they could also be a source of pride if one acquitted themselves well. Part of the recovery process from trauma was often re-authoring the narrative in ones mind of what happened and what you did and why, reclaiming agency and re-balancing the possibilities in your mind of what could've happened to be more fair to yourself.

Hopefully, he'd know what to say when he heard her answer.

"I mean I woke up from cryostasis."
>Maggie explained while dozing off a bit.
>Seemingly ignoring the other questions.
>Maggie then started falling asleep.
>Bobby then came back.
"Good news they accepted that we just found it!"
>She shouted.
"They said they are now waiting for the Cottontail tribe to arrive so they can start the main event... oh she's sleeping. I'll take watch of her. You guys can do whatever you need to."
Kinny, Mog, and Ursus, what do you choose to do now?
>>
>>5855139
Maggie do you want to see them play the metal lute
>>
>>5855139
>>5855110
>>5855099
"Huh, problem solved. I guess we'll see what she says when she wakes up." Mog shrugged.

Turning to Kinny, the wolf gave the cat a friendly lick, before saying "There you are! We were looking for you. Funny to see you ended up here too, last I saw you were out there with the other cats."

Putting the question of what to do next to the group, he said "So, what now? Wanna get sauced, have a few more drinks? Sounds like we have a little time to ourselves before our night gets taken up by whatever this 'main event' is, probably a concert I'm guessing from the importance of the electric lute. We still have food and figurines left over for sale or what?"
>>
>>5855143
Oh right she’s asleep Nvrmind I’ll look after her while you mog and kinny go checkout the song I’m not good at talking to others and I’d rather ensure Maggie is ok this is the first time she drank while using the ring
>>
>>5855149
"Like I said, I think it'll be a hot minute before the main event happens. Sounds like these Cottontails are yet to arrive and the Big feets aren't ready to start the festivities without them. We can finish off those drinks while we wait, or maybe we could check out the mill?"

"Thanks, Mog" The cat endured the wet lick and managed to not try and clean himself reflexively. "Not sure what happened, I seem to have fallen asleep inside here." Kinny explained as much as he could. "Might actually get something to eat and drink while we're here." With that, the rogue began looking for the place where he could get food in the building. >Suddenly you hear another thunderous horde arriving.
>Finally it seems the third and final tribe arrived.
>Velveteen and Frou Frou were quick to greet them.
>These rabbits seemed to have huge tails.
>The fluffiest you have ever seen.
"Hail Cottontail!"
>The two chiefs said as they greeted the third chief.
"Hail Frou Frou! Hail Velveteen! Sorry we are late we had a run in with some wolves who were trying to confiscate some of the stuff we were carrying."
"They didn't take anything did they?"
"They took some of the toys that Relm liked but they were only small items. Still they were Relm's items."
"Such a shame."
>The Frou Frou chief said.
"Still at least they only took something minor. But the wolves of Canis Lupin are usually honorable. Why would they take something like that?"
"Could be thanks to that ape who is visiting them?"
"Clayton is here?!"
"No! Thank God No! It's that self proclaimed Monkey King."
"Oh you mean Sunny?"
"But he doesn't even care about our affairs. Because the rabbits "don't do anything exciting.""
"They could have been lying."

Mog sighed "Guess we're gonna have to cut the relaxation short. Get your drink of choice, I'll be over there listening to the chiefs outside. Gonna get Ord and Potato to fire up the grills again, gotta make our sales to the third tribe and all that. Seriously though, trust me on the beef, we still have some left made from the previous batch, it's good. Fresh stuff coming up too."

>Go and listen, get the NPCs members of the party to sell food to the third tribe or anyone who wants seconds. Same prices as last time.
>>
>>5855243
Sigh…
>Ursus gets up with mog to listen in on this
>>

"I see. That's unfortunate." Kinny responded, only half-paying attention to the rabbit affairs. "The beef sounds good, I'll be back in a minute."

Gained 10,000 Silver
>You then continue to listen on with the tribe leaders.
>All while Kinny got the group some fine mead.
>It only costed him one silver each but it was good mead.
>Again you never understood why the rabbits were so damn cheap.
>Anyways you continue to listen in on the conversation.
"I'm telling you guys, something is up with the wolves in Canis Lupin."
>Chief Cottontail said to his brethren.
"It seems so but who are we to interfere with it. Relm said for us not to interfere with the politics anymore... at least that's what Swift said she said."
>Chief Velveteen added in.
"Even so. We shouldn't interfere with their affairs. It's not right for us to. But if the wolves were to start attacking us, let it be known that the Frou Frou tribe will be the first to strike!"
>The three chiefs continue to talk and argue about the situation.

"We're headed to Canis Lupin next anyways, if you tell us where you usually settle next then we can see what is going on with my countrymen and report back to tell you rabbits what is going on. Also, are you sure it was Canis Lupin wolves? Did you see any insignia or flags? They could be independent adventurers or Ape auxiliaries." Mog butted in, offering a plate of veggies to each chief as he did so, a good icebreaker and excuse to be here.
>>
>>5855294
>Chief Frou Frou raised his hammer as a salut to the bear who agreed with him.
"Aye sir! If the wolves keep bothering us, we should fight the dark forces of Canis Lupin!"
"Frou Frou you're suggesting we go to war?"
>Chief Cottontail asks.
"Well no but..."
>>5855304
>Chief Velveteen was the one to answer this question Mog asked.
"Where we usually head to next? We head back home. Just a bit South West from here. At least Velveteen is. Frou Frou is West from here and Cottontail is North."
>Chief Cottontail then replied to the wolf next.
"I did see the flag a bit. It had a wolf devouring a dragon. That is the flag of Canis Lupin right?"
"Aye it is."
>Chief Frou Frou responds.
"If they are holding that flag they are working for the wolves of Canis Lupin!"
"Well we shouldn't worry about it now. Come Frou Frou. Come Cottontail. Let's set up and continue having a grand day before the main event on Midnight."
Continue questioning?
>>
>>5855317
Mog was worried now, this was odd news. "Maybe, could also have something to do with the forest cultists, or it could be a false flag." he replied distractedly.

A few hundred rabbits didn't have the capacity to meaningfully damage Canis Lupin...or at least he thought. Perhaps they possessed hidden Old One technology, they seemed to have already inherited quite a bit of it.

No, nevermind, tonight was a night for merry making. This could wait until they saw for themselves what was going on with his country. The wolf wandered his way back to go find Kinny and sooth his anxieties.
>>
>>5855317

There are multiple ways to fight against oppression instead show them their own sins, fight those who are truly responsible by telling the truth those that must face their own lies will iether realize they are on the wrong side of history or double down and be drowned in the more of ignorance
(Sorry for the soup box rant this is some serious stuff and I’d rather avoid war)
>>
>>5855330
Mog didn't have to look for too long, seeing as Kinny was making his way towards him at the same time. The cat had a bunch of clinking mead bottles strapped to his backpack, a mixture of being puzzled and baffled on his cat face. "Those rabbits... they really are cheap." The cat stated quietly once the clinking stopped. Maybe was more to it, given he didn't even intend to buy any alcohol, but here he was returning adorned in mead bottles and not unhappy with the purchase. "How's the bisnis?" Kinny asked, offering a bottle to Mog and looking at Ursus >>5855333
wave his axe in the air.
>>
>>5855333
>>5855330
>Chief Cottontail then gave his sign of respect.
"That I will. I shall go over to Canis Lupin with myself after the party. Though it will probably be dangerous to go by myself. Perhaps you could accompany me? I'll offer you 50 gold for the expenses."
Accept the offer?
>>
>>5855349
>The Cottontail tribe all have heard about the Felicia Fertility Figures and wish to buy some.
Kinny... you have 23 statues remaining, do you wish to sell them regularly or maybe try auctioning them off?

>>
>>5855356

>>
>>5855354
Kinny was torn between peace and food and auctioning for more money, but in the end the food won. The cat decided it would be better to just sell 20 of the figures off and try to offer 3 to each chief, if they wanted them. It was free brownie points as far as he cared.
>>
>>5855349
"The 'bisnis' is not good my friend, apparently wolves bearing the banner of Canis Lupin shook down the Cottontail tribe for some of Relm's toys. The Frou Frou chief seemed eager to make war, at least to me. Oh - thank you," Mog paused his explanation to accept the cold mead, "Ah! That's a nice one, at last. I wonder if they use human tech to make them cheaply, the whisky I had earlier was only a silver."

>>5855350
>>5855356
"I'm up for it if you guys are, we're headed that way anyways. I'm eager to get ambushed by these wolves myself. Lets see if these truly are comrades of mine or not, and why they act the way they do. On the way I'll have more questions for you Chief Cottontail. Sorry about not having much to add earlier, I'm still in shock from the news, I need time to gather my thoughts." Mog declared.

It was good Kinny had already been on his way to meet them, he'd barely gotten a few steps away before the cat found him and the pack.

He took a sip of his mead, eager to not think and distance himself from the looming issue at hand. Avoidant behaviour didn't suit Mog, but this night he just wanted to relax, the thought of his kin turning to banditry didn't sit well with him. Biting the glass, he tipped the drink all the way back. Sweetness, banish all thoughts, relax! Drink, drink!

What would Lanesboro and Caramel have to talk about together? Ah, well. No need to be all suspicious. Mog was worn out from worrying about Swift, Sean and the conspiracy he had thought had been going on, all for it to come to nothing. He just wanted to relax, maybe he should take a walk.

"Ey, Ursus, lets meet back up later either by the Saloon or the main event when it happens. Tell me what happens with Lanesboro. I'm going to see the mill, relax with some drinks and stuff. Wanna come along Kinny?" Mog drawled out, not quite slurring.

Not waiting for an answer, he drifted over to the mill to take a peak inside.

"Good good. Now Caramel from this point on I want you to travel with this bear."
"Can do sir!"

"Seems like everyone is planning to go to war with someone lately. Can't say I like this." Kinny squinted, but soon shifted his attention to mead and its price as Mog's thoughts went in that direction. "Machines... or free labor. One thing rabbits have going for them is their numbers. I mean, look around us." The cat looked at Mog, presumably surrounded by countless rabbits. So many rabbits, it made one question how they all even fit inside the building without becoming a living game of leporine tetris. Once Mog stopped thinking of the vertically stacked rabbits, he noticed that Kinny, too was trying to comprehend the rabbit physics. By the look on the cat's face, his feline brain was losing the fight with reality.

Mog looked around, a windmill powering a whole country? Surely not, how did a single wind generator fill up a battery this big? Why did the apes abandon this town if they were the ones to make it, especially with a human artifact this valuable? Did the rabbits truly only come here for this event? He supposed they could have an underground city powered by the generator, it would avoid the lizard's gaze, but that couldn't be the case since the rabbit travelled here from far away.

He examined the walls first, then let his eyes followed the wires and where they led. Why wasn't there a staircase going to the top, what if they had to do maintenance on the windmill blades? Perhaps he missed a ladder on the outside?

(I’m probably gonna be keeping the conspiracy nut busy getting my him drunk at the bar while I fake scathe him over the fake rage of insulting my cousin(

>>5857953
Wait, just went back to check. The number we found was unspecified, other than that they were a 'bunch'. Later in the thread where everyone was testing them it was made to sound as if they were still good after being recharged, which we know they are because they worked. I assume a 'bunch' means at least half a dozen. There were at least enough for each of us, Bobby included. Also, in the female prison back in the cult area Ursus found a different ring (possibly also a polymorph ring) that I'm not sure we ever identified. So, even with the low charge on this one, I know we have at least a few more spares given that we already had one, and Ursus, Bobby and Kinny tested one each, and the only reason I didn't test one was because I was sleeping.

Just wanted to put this out here as a reminder for myself when I reorganize our party inventory.

"It happens. Can't say I'm not grouchier than I was five minutes ago, but it happens. Where's Bobby? We left you in her care, she shouldn't be wandering off cooking when you're in this state," Mog complained, before remembering an old factoid, "-oh, I know! She probably got carried away cooking, might be a passion of hers. I distinctly remember her being good cook. I think it was either when she was helping Kinny make those Mantis legs, or maybe when she was helping you spice that turkey. Still, super irresponsible."

He looked around. The main event didn't seem to have started yet. There was still time to relax.

"Wanna go sit by the lake? It's peaceful. Look! It's reflecting the Moon's beauty!" he asked, before getting caught up in the light reflecting off the water and wandering a few steps off without thinking.

He stopped himself before he reached the bank of the lake. Looking over his shoulder, he dipped his head low in shadow to hide his embarrassment at getting entranced by the image of his Goddess just after narrowly avoiding trouble. Still, his friends could probably tell he just wanted to go lake gazing until the stage was set.

I've forgotten how secretive we have to be about humans and draconians around different parties, but remember that Lanesboro (who is a rabbit) has rather extensive knowledge about this stuff and he's here and talked to the chiefs. tl;dr: I'm a bit... confused how we should steer the convo with rabbits.

>>
>>5858025

>>
>>5858020
Honestly, not only is the conspiracy theorist basically right, but Mog's religion basically states the dragons are de facto aliens anyways. No need to be secret about the Draconians, especially since the rabbits seem to know more about the past and humans than most other species, but I think we are still keeping humans a secret. At the very least the fact that a living one is amongst them, don't wanna cause panic or anything. Or let the news spread, if Clayton or Lincoln get word, we're kinda fucked. Maybe keep the bits about the draconians that require talking about humans secret, better mask it behind normal animal conceptions of the dragons and what origins they may have instead.

"Moon Goddess, singular. Wolves, rabbits, owls, mice, cows, goats, and many freshwater dwellers come from the moon. Adopted by her sister, Gaia, the Earth Mother." Mog murmured quietly, before returning to prayer and contemplation of the lake's surface.

A beautiful place to be sure, the slight ripples brought about by the healthy flow prevented easy divine insight. Perhaps another time. Better to turn inwards and clear out any turmoil.

He spent a long moment in silence, thinking of the future.

When his head was clear, he spoke, saying "Was just reciting the 'water gazing frog' from the Book of Phases. Should've sung it properly like it is supposed to be, too much ash in my lungs from years of war though. Voice is shot, I'm no good at it. In the Southern Rite, the faithful would've cleaned the lake too, afterwards. No need up here in the north though, water's not polluted like down south."

He paused.

'Ah, I've been a poor conversation partner!' The thought came and went.

"What about you Maggie? I hope being a fish out of time hasn't deprived you of any connection to your God? Gods? Goddesses...? Sorry, not good to assume, do you worship any divinity?" The wolf stumbled through what was supposed to be a simple question. He wanted to talk of the future, of his plans regarding Canis Lupin like they'd discussed after claiming the Xenarus vault, but including Maggie in the present conversation came first. His intent on what to talk about next was clear after his moment of deliberation at the lakeside, but the present moment escaped him and made him uncharacteristically clumsy in speech.

Hm, I think this should've been established before the roll, but it's not your fault since we've ended on this very thing and then I rolled because Mog said so without saying anything since I couldn't think of anything. So to make up for it:
Kinny said whatever he could shut the rabbit down about everything that might have to do with draconians/humans and shared "secrets" he's heard on his many "travels" to guide the little guy's interests towards theories unrelated to our quest! Werecat bunnies, robot cats... oh and that lake next to the town totally looks like a home to the legendary catfish.
Once the the rabbit abandoned talking about dragons and forgot about Ursus' peculiar "family member" it was safe to say the rabbit's hunger for theories and legendary beasts was satisfied and his mind now occupied by less legitimate creatures and ideas.

Kinny nodded, surprised the creature he just made up is apparently a well-known thing to this rabbit. Without a word he drew a crude map of the town in the dirt with his paw and a zigzag running through it, only vaguely passing through where the lake was. An imaginary cave or cat's laziness? Nobody could tell, but one thing was certain: the rabbit would eat it up like he ate up the mention of the nonexistent fish. "Good luck with your... quest." The cat made slowly backed away from the rabbit.
>>5858012
>>5869391
Kinny gave Ursus a claws up. "Mog and the uh... one of the rabbits have left the building, wanna join them?" The cat glanced at the conspirabbit, but he was busy studying the "map", having seemingly forgotten about the incident. The crowd was thinning too, so both the cat and the bear could catch up with the old wolf and disguised human if the latter wanted to join.

"If every faith was the same, but just with different aesthetics, then surely they are all 'real' and there is no need to fret over finding the 'true' faith so long as you believe, yes?" Mog reasoned slowly, before urging "Come, pray with me. I'll even sing this time."

He turned back to the disturbed mirror surface of the lake, cheerfully intoning '118. a night's reflection upon the dreaming aftertaste', a dissonant-sweet contemplation of the dreaming mind and the loss of clarity upon waking through the lens of the alien mind of the Moon. Made comprehensible to mortal minds through approved translations of the Moon Runes left on the lunar meteorite that struck Laurentide, at the foot of the mountain.

When the prayer was over, Mog turned to gauge how Maggie felt. Catching a glimpse of his companions over Maggie's shoulder, he waited until they were all assembled. A comfortable vibe permeated as the faithful wolf trailed off into humming to the sway of Kinny's tail.

"So, I guess we're all just waiting for the main event, huh? While we wait I wanted to ask you all about what we intend to do once we reach Canis Lupin proper now that we don't have the guns anymore. For all we know, we may very well run into the Forest Guardian's leaders trying to pay off my kin's leaders with our guns in return for shelter or a more proactive stance against the apes or something. Good for us in a way if true, since that is sort of what we wanted, but they would be doing it with our stuff. We still have a substantial supply of money to fund a rebellion with or to gather influence, but that may be the end of our means without looting more human cities," Mog took in a breath, "there is the more risky option of immediately taking the fight to the apes to inspire people to our cause as well. Maggie, I don't suppose there is any truth to our earlier hopes that you could rekindle the ancient industry of your people and get Canis Lupin access to great factories of the Old Ones, is there? 'Cause if you could, then that changes things a lot, if not...well this will be hard."

Not the most relaxing topic to suddenly shift to, but the easy atmosphere allowed them to take their time and answer at their leisure. They didn't have to figure this all out right away, but Mog thought it prudent to bring this up now that they were so close to his home.

>Caramel looked over to the bear.
"Oh anything I want?"
>Caramel thought about it for a bit.
"Well I do want to go over to those cats who were selling the fertility figures. Though their's don't look as good as the ones I read about. Did you know they were a lot rounder back then? All that fattyness must have helped the old ones produce a lot of milk for their cubs. That's why when that one rabbit said it was skinny, I knew it couldn't have been an old one. The old ones aren't skinny at all. Not unless it was malnourished, a child, or male. But... I guess I'll never know. But if we are going to leave in the morning, maybe we can watch the midnight show. That's usually the best part. Want to watch it with me?"
>>5869442
"Oh. Hey little guy... or rather... somewhat bigger guy."
>Maggie said as she greeted the cat by petting his head.
"Sorry about earlier. Didn't mean to go off on you."
>>
>>5869447

>>
>>5869445
>Maggie was busy petting the cat and giving him some love.
>Though to be fair, a conversation about war was not one she had in mind.
>Wasn't really on anyone's mind.
>Well until a certain fox arrived.
"You really think we can fight the apes off?"
>Jenkins asked as he approached old Mog.
"Even if we have the guns the Apes have an army.... and from rumors I recently heard from some crazy rabbit, they just seized a secret weapon. Do you really think with Canis Lupin's help we can take down an empire as big as Clayton's?"
>>
>>5869449
>>5869448
>>5869442
"Yes Jenkins, I know we can take down the apes. One of the keys is in one of the words you just said; Empire. By academic definition an empire is a state that controls multiple peoples, multiple nations. Peoples like you and your kin, like me and mine, like Ursus and his village, and the many other monkeys that have submitted to him. I know Ursus and I aren't alone in hating the apes the most out of any of the three big factions. We are counting on those subject peoples rebelling once we get a big enough success to show that the apes can really be defeated on a large scale. Then the apes strength will turn into their weakness." Mog explained, or reexplained their prior plans to the fox. It figures that some of the pack would forget, it had been a long while since that early conversation after the vault raid, in the shelter of the gun store.

The paladin lapped up some water from the lake's edge, before speaking once more "The other keys we were counting on was the guns, but those are in the hands of the cult leaders now, after that we were counting on our looted wealth from the vault to buy influence and spread ideological materials for recruitment and to fund the war in general, there was talk of Maggie knowing enough about her kind's industry to kickstart some Old One industry for us as well. We may very well have to go digging through a few more Xenarus facilities and old human cities after we plant the seeds of rebellion in Canis Lupin and strike the first few blows against the ape garrisons blocking the roads throughout the land, both for the war booty and to solve the mysteries of the past. Point is, we're getting close to Canis Lupin, I don't wanna rehash our old ideas again with nothing new to say, but we should figure out what we are gonna say to the top brass and iron out some of the specifics of our plans given our new gunless situation."
>>
>>5869447
"Issfine" Kinny murmured to the rabbit Maggie, checking whether Caramel can't hear him and lowering his voice. "Just don't do that again, I had to talk the schizophrenic who saw you out of his glorious plan to bring all of the rabbits to hunt you, or whatever he wanted to do." The cat then returned to his previous tone. "He's now pursuing a nonexistent catfish some cat told him lives under this lake." Kinny pointed to the body of water with his snoot. "For all we know, he's trying to dive as we speak. May rabbit gods have mercy on his swimming skills." The cat trailed off.
>>5869445
>>5869449
Kinny rolled onto his back - a way to get himself closer to the conversation as well as giving Maggie access to his belly - and joined the conversation. "Well, I'm no warrior or a strategist, but I think that..." The cat shamelessly purred as his personal rabbit masseuse kneaded his stomach. "attacking those gorillas head on is a deathwish. They don't just have strength, but opposable thumbs as well. We should find some way to sabotage them first..."

>Ursus and Caramel then went towards the square of the festival.
>As soon as they arrived the main event was setting up.
>Each rabbit getting into position with each instrument.
>The chiefs of each Tribe then said their speech.
"We have come here today to celebrate the life of Relm! As she gave her life to make sure that we may live a peaceful life of our own."
"She has given our ancestors many things! Things that were gifted to her by the old ones! Gifts she wanted us to adore, admire, and play with if possible!"
"Relm wanted us to celebrate all of life! Not just rabbit kind but all of it! Whether you rabbit, cat, mouse, or even lizard or ape! She wanted us to spread love to everyone! Though we may have failed through our invitations to each leader again we hope that next year, we will do better!"
"But in the meantime! Let us rejoice! Let us sing the song that Relm would sing to everyone of our tribes!"
>A small bonfire then lit up as rabbits then began to chant.

"What did you have in mind? You're not thinking of having us going guts deep in ape territory to pull some cloak and dagger shit, are you? Seems like more a job for elements that we end up recruiting. Honestly, I say we test just how much a 'deathwish' it truly is for us to take on the apes. Destroying that toll booth garrison on the road out of Plato that we took so many pains to avoid could be a good test of our strength, we've grow more skilled and coordinated since our early days, hells, you have magic now Kinny!" Mog put forth his thoughts that followed from his question, he preferred a more straightforward rebellion sparked by a well fund military and a violent inciting battle.

Seeing the cat hogging Maggie's tender ministrations all to himself, the wolf rolled over next to Kinny and yawned, mimicking the cat's relaxed posture and exposed belly for the human to see.
>>
>>5869469
Kinny looked at Jenkins, then at Maggie with apologetic look before speaking. "Their human might as well be a god, but I've yet to see Maggie do anything magical. Even if we assume Maggie can do really impressive things, that bark-humping psychopath has months.. no, years of experience of evil magic fuckery. Besides, she is in a league of her own, considering even her skin is unnatural in color."
>>5869472
"These feel more like cheap tricks, Mog. I'm by no means a wizard." Kinny corrected the wolf.

Pretend this is before Mog rolled over to relax.

It took a while for Mog to process what Jenkins said. Longer to tamp down his initial anger. When he felt calm enough to respond to his foxy friend he replied back evenly "Clever, but I'm not okay with it, plus we don't know if Maggie is okay with it. Are you alright with it Maggie? 'Cause I'm not, subverting the faiths of my people with the false pretense of you being a god does not sit alright with me. Plus, think of the consequences if our lies are discovered! Remember, the false goddess Persephone has our guns, and frankly- and I'm sorry to say this Maggie -but frankly is a LOT, I repeat, A LOT more powerful than Maggie on a personal level. Think back to what she did to those apes and the cult she managed to gather, meanwhile Maggie has latent but seemingly weak potential in sorcery and knows how to use a gun, that ain't much of a contest on who seems to be the stronger 'goddess'. It is worth emphasizing this; we can wring pretty much all the persuasive value we can get out of Maggie just by revealing her as an Old One and making use of whatever knowledge she has, any cult-creating just makes complications, and for the GODDESSES SAKE Jenkins, my people already have worthwhile deities to worship!"
>>

"I mean I did throw some fire once over at the forest fuckers base... but that was by accident. I don't even know how I did that."
>Maggie interjected.
>Maggie then saw the begging old wolf as well.
"Oh sorry. I probably should give you some pettings as well."
>Maggie then went on to pet the old hound as well.
"But even then, I'm not a god. Just like Kinny said. It's probably best to go with Mog's strategy and having him just talk to the pack leaders. Besides even if we were to go with the plan of showing me off to the wolves that I'm a human, wouldn't that just paint a target on our back?"
>>5869474
>>5869477
>Caramel and Ursus continued to watch the song until the end.
>The concert ending perfectly.
>And with that all the celebrations were practically over.
>It then became a bit more.... like a mourning and funeral.
>As all the rabbits then lined up to go to another part of the forest.
>All of them carrying a small candle lit up by the bonfire.
>Caramel also joining in among the group.
Follow them Ursus?
>>
>>5869473
Maggie shot a firebolt back when we were captured by the forest cultists, when she was naked in the pool in the women's cells. That is the only time she's shown magical potential, plus firebolt is a cantrip, not even a proper spell. And she's like...level 1 or something. We should've voted for her to be a fighter or cleric honestly, at least she'd eventually get more actions and be able to shoot her guns multiple times in a turn or act as a healbot then. I was more thinking that a sorcerer or wizard would be our next pick for a PC to class into if we ever got a new player, but hey, we didn't know back then that the class vote and the rolls were for Maggie.
>>
>>5869480
Ursus followed along respectfully joining the mourning rabbits in their ritual
>>
>>5869484
>As Ursus gained a candle he then went on forward with the rest of the rabbits.
>They further into the woods area.
>There Ursus could find a grave.
>It was a rather small one but perfect for a rabbit.
>There each rabbit placed their tiny candle onto the grave.
>They then bowed their head and said a small thank through a prayer.
>Each one was softly spoken, short, and sweet.
>The only ones who took the most time seemed to be the chiefs.
>It soon went to Caramel's turn.
>Her's was just as short and sweet as it was with the others.
>It was now Ursus' turn.
Say a little prayer Ursus?
>>
>>5869483
Not sure why you're saying this to me, Kinny clearly said that there is no comparing between our the crazed mage that led the cult and Maggie. That was in response to whoever said "we have a human as well. Maybe we can convince the wolves she is a god as well"

!!!

Said 'old hound' cut his laughter short as the petting began and the hidden playfulness came out from the elder's heart.

A minute later when the wolf regained his breathe, he asked "Should we catch up with Ursus? Wouldn't want to miss the main event...though it sounds like it's winding down now. Also, you never answered my question Kinny, did you have something specific in mind when it comes to sabotaging the apes?"

"I..." The cat stopped for a moment. "I didn't make him stop. It was more like tricking the fate itself.. if that makes sense." The spell might've seemed banal to a side observer, but there was something weird about it, which made the cat feel like he stole luck and then pushed it towards the fighting bear. Something convoluted, but instinctive about it. Kinny realized the petting stopped and stretched with a sigh. Then, with all four paws still pointing vaguely upwards, the cat manifested the mage paw to scratch his head.
>something in mind when it comes to sabotaging the apes
"Not really anything I'd be sure about, but those in power doesn't seem to go along well with explosives and I might or might not know how to sneak things into various places without getting noticed. Another option I think you've said yourself - weaken the kingdom, then attack. But I would be much comfortable if it was pigs going to war with those stupid monkeys and not our allies." The cat trailed off, scratching his own head was making him lazy.

>He looked... impressed with her.
"Wow... look at you. Already adapting to our world so well."
>Lanesboro then went on to pet Maggie.
"I can't wait to hear the grat things you will do."
>Maggie felt.... proud.
>She wasn't sure why.
>But those words... they seemed to have some sort of effect on her.

"Excuse me sir Kinny. But you wouldn't happen to have 24601 with you would you?"
>Einstein then popped his head out.
"I'm right here sir!"
>The mouse said.
"Reporting for duty Elder Swift."
"That's a good lad but your parents are starting to get worried about you. Would you like to come home?"
>Einstein thought about it for a bit.

"Don't think that's my decision to make." The cat shrugged. He's grown used to the mouse, but Swift had a point and who was Kinny to decide about the mouse's fate? "You're free to go at any time." The cat then slowly turned to Swift and narrowed his eyes slightly. "Hello to you too. What does a village's elder need 21 thousand for? Don't you have taxes or something?" The smuggler drilled.

>Ursus and Caramel arrive just in time.
>>5869521
>Lanesboro then stared at the wolf.
>Looking more stern and wiser than him.
"This I will help you with."
>He then pulled out a map.
>He then pulls out some colored writing tools and begins using them with his paws to draw out some borders.
"As you know the three main factions are the Pigs, the Apes, and the Lizards."
>Lanesboro began.
>Drawing the Pigs border with Pink, the Apes with Black, the Lizards with Green.
"And this is Canis Lupin."
>He says as he draws the border in blue.
"Here are the facts you do know. Clayton is grabbing and forcing animals to join in on his army. He's the one wanting war the most. The Lizards are the ones who are mostly retaliating and escalating the war by burning the ruins of the humans. The Pigs are mostly profiting from both sides at this point, not officially getting into battle just yet. But all three are eying one location. Canis Lupin. They all know the wolves have the best army. If anyone of them were to gain that army through an alliance or any other mean they would be invincible. The Pigs have sent in five strong intellectuals among them to try and persuade them to join their side. Meanwhile one of the current heads of the Lizards, Lincoln the Flametongue, went by himself to try and persuade for their alliance as well. The Apes, well in particular, Clayton, has sent in a large army with three generals to gain favor with the wolves. On a side note, one of the four Ape Kings, Sunny, went along with Clayton's army as well but his intentions are unknown at the moment. Finally as you know, the Forest Guardians are heading there as well with Sage the Otter, Kuma the Bear, and of course their "goddess" with a ton of firearms to gain an army as well. Though I feel that they are eying more than just the wolves. So of you want my recommendation if you still wish to see the wolves, you might want to have a good speech ready... or get ready for a surprise attack... but I would also get ready to make one as well. As Mog mentioned, going for Plato right now is not a bad idea if you wish to go for it right now. Though I would suggest that you have the bear as your leader for that mission. He is wearing one of the general's clothing. But that's my suggestion. So.... was that all you wanted to know?"

>Einstein explained.
>He then looked back at Kinny and then Lanesboro.

>Lanesboro gave a nod.

Well, I slept poorly the past couple days, so I'm not much better off than I was on Tuesday, but I can participate for a short 4 or 5 hour session. Expect shortish posts from me though, I'm tired.

"Gimme a minute to discuss it with the pack," Mog waved off the ancient rabbit and turned to his friends, "so, what d'ya guys think? Personally I think we should ask about Xenarus in general. From what I remember, Maggie, you didn't know a ton about them other than what we learned together. Though you did seem to know about the rock jammed into Persephone, so I think we can skip asking Swift about that and just hear it from you later. In my opinion, we need details, we have the general locations of facilities where the rest of the children are located, but we need to know about Xenarus and their current leader, what they've been up to since humanity died off and the Awakening occurred, their agenda and capabilities. They're the biggest unknown for us in this whole situation, we stand to profit from their technology and facilities, and we have a responsibility to those human children. We can learn about the history unrelated to Xenarus on our own, we have historians, similarly we know the dragons in our own way even if we don't know the details of their past with humans or of their tech, likewise we'll probably be meeting Persephone face to face soon enough, and we can get caught up on the political situation in Canis Lupin ourselves. That's my opinion, thoughts?"

Kinny rolled over onto his stomach and blinked like he had just woken up from a nap, before squinting at Lanesboro for a moment. When that got no reaction from the rabbit, the cat opened his mouth. "One subject." Pause. "You have knowledge which the fate of the whole world could very well depend on and instead of sharing it with us... you give us one topic to pick and tell us to be happy?" Kinny sighed. "Is this some kind of game to you, rabbit? We NEED all the information we can get if we're to face the blue bitch who stole our guns and grew monkey-trees and survive!" >Lanesboro then sat down with everyone else.
"This all began in the year 1947. I assume you all know how the Draconians, also known as the Lizards, arrived on Earth in desperate need of a new home, even willing to let humans learn from their technology. The first people to take advantage of that was the Xenarus Company. With their first leader Tyler Xenarus, who made the first deal, promising to provide homes for the Lizards. With their combined powers Xenarus and the Lizards helped advance the world further in many ways. There was more money, more food, higher education, improved exploration, and even restoration. But even after all that the combined efforts of Lizards and Humans wanted one more improvement that could help everyone in the end. The removal of Death. The project was started in the 1960s, after Ashton gained the company after Tyler's death. The project was simply known as the Life Program. It first started with cell research, went on brain studies for a bit, only for those studies to end with no results. It wasn't until Oswald found what he thought was the answer. A material he found and called Nihm, believed that the rock was the same one that impacted the Earth 65 million years ago, killing off the dinosaurs and giving life to more superior and intelligent species. He also assumed that his planet went through this process as well, but instead of killing everything it went and evolved the life forms of his world. He then theorized that whatever was in the stone to help everyone evolve further could be linked to the secrets of immorality. So they then began testing the stone. Trying it on everything they could. They first exposed the stone to fish, only for the fish to die immediately once the stone was touched. Next were reptiles, and they were able to interact with the stone they did absolutely nothing with it, eventually just hiding from the thing. Eventually it went on to mammal testing. Mostly towards mice and rabbits. I assume Maggie told you how successful that turned out. With the ability to talk, we were finding ourselves becoming more evolved. We were still rabbits but.... different somehow. It was a breakthrough. We would then talk a lot with the scientists. They really wanted to know what we were thinking. Dr Farris especislly. She was the most interested in us. But it wasn't only the scientists we were talking to. Oh no, we were also talking amongst each other. I... had a special relationship with one rabbit... I assume you know who Relm is now. We would constantly talk a lot. Never could stop talking. We thought it would always be nice and comfy. Then came the first incident. The smashing of the Lizards' eggs. The humans must have been scared with the fact that the Draconians might overpopulate again. So they took it upon their own hands to make sure it would not happen. With that, one lizard retaliated and ate a human child. That cycle of hatred kept escalating."

"Wait... how old are you again?" Kinny's eyes widened at the revelation that Lanesboro was among the first animals to be exposed to Nihm and even knew Relm.

"Both sides were upping each other one by one. It wasn't until the lizards burned down a nation that war was declared by the humans. Nobody was prepared for it. The humans of the company decided to cut ties with the lizard race. Except for a handful, Oswald being one of them. Suddenly the team went from trying to find eternal life to trying to weaponize the stone. Not only the stone... but the animals as well. It was then the crazed Dr Niklas had a brilliant idea. Sewing Nimh onto us. Seemed like a crazy idea, even Oswald wasn't on board but he insisted it would help us evolve faster. To prove it he hand picked several volunteers... my sister Terra, Relm, and myself. We had no choice in the matter. They didn't want to hear our protests. I still remember us inside that surgery room. Haunts me to this day. I saw them use that scaple on us and the finely cut sphere they cut out of the Nimh. We were all strapped onto a table. I was laying on my belly but could still see everything. I saw is horror they cut my sister's chest open as she screamed in pain. I was enraged when I saw Relm forhead being sliced and began pleading for them to stop. Only to be silenced when they started operating on me. It was painful..."
>Lanesboro then removed a bit of shirt.
>Revealing a small jewel sphere was embedded into his shoulder.
"I unfortunately feel I was the luckiest of the bunch. That was just the first part of Niklas' experiments... I'd rather not go into what he had his staff did... but let's just say... they found out that the stone did what they were looking for originally."

Sorry got to leave. Gotta help out Family. Might write more lore and backstory from Swift/Lanesboro's point of view later tonight or thoughout the days until Tuesday. Again sorry for the abrupt ending. Also if I am missing some details you want to know, respond here.

"We were of course against all these cruel experiments but we were promised something everytime to soothe our pain away. It was a promise that one day we would evolve. Evolve and become something that resembled humans. I think out of all of us, Relm was the one looking forward to that promise. She loved humans. Especially Dr Farris. I think it was her that gifted her so many human trinkets. Though they were all mostly toys compared to the big stuff that was over at the festival. As Niklas kept escalating his "studies" on my friends and I, along with a few others, so was the war outside the lab. I am not sure what exactly was happening but we were constantly hearing explosions happening. We were all afraid we were all going to die. It was then Niklas then gathered twelve humans to experiment on. I am sure Maggie explained that these individuals also had the Nihm stones embedded into them. Those humans soon evolved into what they call themselves gods. Really they just became insane megalomaniacs who just have higher magic. Though it was to assume they had immortality as well. They used a gas to sedate them and put them in cryo chambers as well but with the intention of never waking up. Niklas then hit a roadblock, or at least that what he told himself. He wanted the humans to be as strong as that but he also wanted them to be more controllable, more obedient to higher authority. He hypothesize that Nihm should be in lower doses. With that he tried experimenting with Nihm trying to turn it into a liquid. And though he succeeded in turning it into a liquid it wasn't the results he wanted. It was like mercury. Thought to be an elixir of life... only to be a poison that could kill you instantly. Meanwhile, Relm, Terra, and I were secretly talking with the other animals with Nihm embedded into them. We felt as if we had to get away from Niklas as he the only bad human we ever encountered. We tried to inform the other scientists of Niklas but we assumed none of them were listening. That was until the night before every human just vanished. It was dark. Very dark. Relm, Terra, and I were sleeping, when suddenly we heard our cages opening. We assumed it was Niklas but the voice was clearly different. Sounded younger and more comforting. As they opened our cages they told us to leave immediately. I couldn't remember for the life of me why though but it was an order we all listened to. We all then ran away. Escaping the building as fast as we could until we reached the safety of the nearest forest. None of us were looking back at all.... except for Terra. She always said she saw something after we got a far distance away. She described it as a giant bird made of fire coming from the sky.... and then destroying the town. We assumed Dr Niklas was going to try and find us eventually. Probably the next day... but days soon turned into weeks... and weeks into months.... and those months turned into a year. No one came."
>>
>>5872800
(4/???)
"There was no sight of a human being for a whole year. We weren't sure why. We all just assumed they forgotten all about us. It wasn't until Terra decided that she should check out the ruins til we discovered what happened. All the humans that were above ground... were dead. All the advance that they produced back then, were now the ruins you see them as today. Most of us didn't know how to react. Should we celebrate or mourn the death of a species that some in our group considered a cancer on the Earth? I know Relm was mourning. Terra was relieved. I on the other hand, wished we could have actually been seen as equals. With the discovery that humans were gone, we just decided to move into the ruins. Claim it as our home. It was that way for a while. I still remember the first home Relm and I had together. It was a small baking shop. We decided to claim it as our home. I learned how to use an oven there and Relm and I would often cook a meal for all of us. Terra would often come visit as well. It was a nice home. That was until they came. We thought they died with the humans, but the Draconians then arrived. They saw us in the homes that the humans built and took it as an insult. As an act of hatred against humanity, the lizards then took their torches and began burning down our homes with everything inside it. The lizards said they were doing us a favor, telling us to go back into the woods and become dumb beasts again. I guess you could say if there was something that we inherited from the humans and lizards it was their want for vengence. We wanted justice for what they did to our home. So we formed an army. We found nearby "dumb" beasts within the forests and began teaching them to be just like us. We were never as harsh as the humans were but we were stern with them as we gave them intelligence just like us. The Apes were probably the easiest and most ready to fight amongst the group. The Pigs were second, learning how fight with ease as well. Then the canines, bears, and felines were next in line to be prepared for war. It took us a whole year but we were soon ready. We then took our revenge on the lizards. Soon driving them to desert wastelands of the nation, something would soon become their territory. Telling them to never come back and destroy our homes again. We thought it would be the last battle we had. But then their general had an ace up their sleeve. Nihm. General Cornelius embedded it upon himself and soon, just like humans, he evolved instantly into a more powerful megalomaniac. He became the first true dragon. Cornelius was a strong and terrifying creature, flattening and destroying many lands almost within an instant. We all thought it was over. Until Louis, the king of the apes, soon made a plan. To gather up the strongest leader from each animal species among their most trusted allies and provoke the dragon to this exact battlefield where we are now."
>>
>>5872826
(5/???)
"Relm was the most influential out of all the rabbits. So that made her the best candidate for being considered their queen, and as her mate I was considered her most trusted ally. So we arrived here along with your great kings and queens of your species. We stood there and waited for the dragon to arrive. Anxious as we knew we probably stood no chance of beating the dragon at first. We stood there and waited, though to ease the tension the bears and apes soon built a saloon to try and ease the tension. Sharing their greatest brew of fine wine and fermented fruit. I was pretty sure me and Relm spent most of our time there. It wasn't until we saw the windmill the humans made begun to spin rapidly that we knew he finally showed up. Cornelius soon flew over us and began his attack. It was a fierce battle. Both sides taking major damage. And when we thought we had the dragon on the ropes, that was when the dragon began to pull up all of its magic. He was trying to kill us all with one huge fiery breath. We knew we were dead in that instant. That was until Relm decided to use all her magic as well. Relm created a mighty barrier. That surrounded all of us. We all believed that she could do it, protect us all from the flames. She stood there defending us all for three whole minutes... then... it happened. I heard something cracking like glass. I wasn't sure what it was at first. I thought it might have been the barrier. I told Relm to stop but she kept going. The cracking noise kept getting louder and louder. It was the only thing I was hearing as the cheers from everyone else was starting to deafen. I then closer to Relm trying to get her attention. I was screaming for her to stop, trying to tell her something was wrong. Then she looked at me. Then I realized what was wrong. It was her Nihm stone... it was shattering. I still remember the last words she said to me... "Take care of them." Her stone finally shattered and the shield made a blast that directed the dragon's flame back at him, leaving an opening for an attack. As everyone else then went on to attack and kill the dragon, I went over to Relm. She was unconscious. I tried waking her up. I was desperately trying to wake her up.... but I couldn't.... Relm's stone broke.... and with it her life. I... I didn't know what to do. I couldn't revive her or anything. As everyone was celebrating their victory against the dragon I was mourning the death of my wife. I.... I think that was the only time I wish I was dead in my life. After the death of the dragon, King Louis then decided to try and make a deal with the Lizards. Giving them the Bottom Half of America and everyone mammal would have the top half and Canada. The current Leader of the Lizards at the time, Aaron, aggreed to these terms and promised never to bother us again, though this would change once his son, Angus, would take over. It was then Louis was crowned king of all the animals for bringing peace to our nation."

"Not everyone was happy with the decision though. The Pigs thought because they were the most intelligent they should be the kings. Some Apes vouching for King Louis stated that because they were the closest thing to a human they should in fact be the rulers. I believe Mog mentioned his own kind also wished to be king of all the beasts as well. And so began our current war. The wolves were once a faction as well until they changed leaders once again and decided they should abandon the war. Wasn't worth all the blood being spilt your preistess said. While all that was going on however, I finally found Relm's letters. The fact you found the first one of five she wrote is nothing short of a miracle. I thought I really hid them well in the museum. And now thanks to Caramel, you now know what their mostly about. They all have coordinates to where some of the humans are. I don't know how she found them but she did. So with this new information, I did what Relm asked me to do. Build a town around the area. Of course I had to buy the land off from the king first, took me 10 years to do it but it was worth it. I then got some trusted allies and began building Xana. Honestly keeping the humans a secret was the hard part. But it's amazing how dedicated some animals were to guarding a barn with some high pay. And it was kept mostly a secret, with no one entering or daring to steal from it.... that was until you guys came around. Which could only mean one thing. Someone went to the museum, found the letter that showed Xana is holding humans, and leaked that information. I don't know who it was yet, but I have my suspicions. So now you know mostly everything I know. Any questions?"

This is going to be a difficult fight to unearth the remnants of humanity, the fact that most if all lizards are alien refugees hell do we even know why that individual draconian ate that kid was he a and the others that followed him abhorrent to their own species, Cornelius is a monkey turned dragon and the fact that nihm can have that effect on monkeys what kind of effect can it have on ourselves or Maggie being exposed to the stuff. By the frozen king I cannot begin to conjecture the full ramifications of this but we need to understand our next steps in response to this such as the wolves, getting in contact with my people up north and help find the human holdouts, as for convincing them where are people, well
<Ursus looks at Maggie
We have been helping one of their own, actively trying to help her find out what happened to kids within that vault, unite the races regardless of creed against these oppressive regimes and take back the continent to help humanity get back up and stand along side us rather than against us

"Cornelius was a Lizard/Draconian. Then again with how fast I was speaking it would be easy for animals to get confused by what I was saying. Then again I do also have a habbit of fumbling my words. Not really a good quality to have as a leader."

"Holy fuck." Kinny rubbed his tired eyes then looked at Lanesboro more seriously. "Sorry for your loss, rabbit. And for breaking into the barn, although I'd prefer to call it a 'rescue mission' rather than stealing." The cat added diplomatically, then rubbed his face in his paws. This all was too much for him. "I suggest we strap a heavy Nihm armor to Mog and let him handle this. Everything else is a suicide." Kinny added once he regained his composure. In absence of ideas, the questionable humor was the only thing he could say.

"Good luck with that."
>Maggie finally chimed in.
"The only known place with a lot of Solid Nihm was in that lab. If we want Solid Nihm we would have to search every part of the nation for individuals with Nihm embedded in them. That includes the twelve psychopaths. The most we're getting our hands on is the liquid Nihm and I'd rather not find out what it might do to you guys since we already saw what it did to the people in the bunker."
>Maggie then paused for a bit.
"Speaking of which, you knew about the bunker right? You had to of... right?"
>Lanesboro looked over to Maggie.
"When I finally found it, it was too late. I found hundreds if not thousands of fresh corpses when I got in there. I didn't know what happened but it was... scary."

"First off, sorry about Relm, she sounds like a noble lady, just like the stories say." Mog started off with, then paused as he struggled to come up with what to say next. There was a lot to process. When nothing came from him and as his friends filled in the silence, preventing an awkward lull, he just settled into listening. Finally, when the others had given their opinions he settled for just blurting out his thoughts one at a time. "This was a nice history lesson, more of your personal story I think, but it fills in some gaps for me. Didn't know about Louis. Honestly, he does deserve credit for the peace deal, but it was way too presumptuous of him to declare sovereignty over us all. I also didn't know Canis Lupin joined the war in a bid for hegemony over all of animalkind, thought it was more of a general belligerence and local wars of conquest over individual species but otherwise it fits with what I know of him. Guess I missed that history lesson, or it got whitewashed out of our history to ease the reintegration of Calumn's descendants and the Mars followers back into the nation. Ahem, anyways, I also echo Kinny's apology over the barn incident, and Atreyu's death too, though Sean really didn't help with the arms dealing, neither did Dr.Farris's keycard being freely available from some random lizard merchant. None of this really clears up my questions of Xenarus, but it sounds like their motives and capabilities are just as opaque to you as to us. I'm guessing Simon's Eugene was one of these humans with Nihm stones jammed into him."

At Maggie's interjection about the solid Nihm, he hurried to state his opinion. "Uh...I thank Kinny for the vote of confidence, but I don't want to be ANYWHERE near solid Nihm. Even if it isn't sewn onto me, it just sounds like bad news, it'd probably drive me crazy or something. Honestly, we haven't even reached our full potential normally as is, if given more time to contemplate the mysteries of the faith and train, I know I can manifest more miracles as my relationship with the divine deepens. Likewise, I'm pretty sure Ursus has a long way to go before he reaching the level of the heros that defeated ol' Corny. Kinny also seems to have developed some latent magical talent-"

The wolf again paused when Maggie interrupted him by continuing with her prior thought with a question to Swift about the bunker. When the rabbit had finished his response, Mog grimly followed up. "You're lucky you didn't look closer honestly, otherwise you probably would've ended up strangled by Xenarus's hellbot shopkeeper. Immortal archmage or not, you can't cast spells when someone is choking the life out of you and preventing you from speaking."

"Like Ursus says, the plan hasn't really changed. We still need to at least stop by in Canis Lupin to stop Persephone from causing trouble and to at least begin the process of encouraging a re-engagement with the other nations and the ongoing war amongst my kin, hopefully on less conquest-y terms and more as peace enablers. We've gotta make sure Clayton's army isn't there to finish the conquest he started, or that the delegations from the various Factions don't persuade my superiors to do something stupid. I don't see why anyone has to be king over every animal nation just because of a prior peace deal from before even I was born, or because the first dragon of what is now comparatively many got his ass whupped. So, yeah, the plan is the same as it was before. Spend our wealth on influence in the Assembly and followers, at least some spies to gather information on the state of the continent and the war, and the beginnings of a warband if we cannot convince the Assembly and current leader to re-involve themselves in the war as at least diplomats. Find the rest of Relm's papers, track down the various bunkers, free the humans and help them integrate into the new world, and deal with whatever Xenarus's agenda is."

Mog nodded, moving to settle in behind the others as they walked to camp. "Everyone here? Or do we have to fetch anyone?"
>>
>>5874859
We should probably get the crew together to go to the camp at the outside of town we should also probably ask Adler if he feels like he should take part in our camp or his
>>
>>5874858
"Grandstanding?" Mog asked, somewhat confused, "Oh, no, Ursus. I don't think you were grandstanding. You're as humble as ever. I just meant...there's no need for us to resort to desperate measures like using Solid Nihm. We still have room to grow. Myself with my knowledge and relationship with the Goddesses, you with your general skill as a fighter, Kinny with his magic and any tricks of his trade that he hasn't learned yet. If we reach our full potential and it still isn't enough to solve our problems, then we can start thinking about desperate measures, not before. In my opinion, of course, a lack of time could force our hand, I admit."
>>
>>5874865
"Yes, lets do that. The town's accommodations will serve us as well or better than our camp, but it is a hassle break camp and move. Might be safer to be closer together though, both for us and the rabbits."
>>
>>5874856
I found a mistake. It should've said Calumn instead of Canis Lupin where Mog says 'I also didn't know Canis Lupin joined the war', since he was the king of the wolves during that time and Mog is talking about him during his period as tyrant of the nation.

Millions? I imagine that is hyperbole, because I'm pretty sure it was stated last threat that each tribe, or at least the first was only a few hundred strong. Otherwise we'd be rolling in hundreds of millions if not billions of silver, especially given the cultist food stockpile is right there...like a few hundred feet away down a waterfall.

"Anyone want to partake in any last minute festivities? The little ones do have a lot of interesting trinkets of Relm that seemed to have passed down from the humans. This could be our last chance in a long, long time to enjoy this. We also haven't necessarily fully explored the town. If not, then I want to talk to the Cottontail chief before he separates from his tribe. This is our last chance to talk to the witnesses of the wolf brigandry before we leave, assuming they pack up and head back north tonight or tomorrow morning. Otherwise we'll just have the chief and his word and nothing else to bring to the courts and offices of the judiciary and politicians in Canis Lupin. We should at least gather evidence, and the location of the robbery from the actual witnesses before we separate, maybe even get them to come along."

>With that the bobtail soon went to the saloon.
>Maggie, Mog, Ursus, and Kinny soon went to the rest of the festival.
>Seemed like Frou Frou brought a ton of games to play.

"Sure, lead the way. You've got an intellectual nose, lets see where it leads us." Mog replied eagerly to the bear.

>>5874966
The wolf didn't ponder Kinny's question long. "I'd been thinking the same thing. It was oddly suspicious. The boring truth is that we just don't know. We don't have enough information, maybe we can ask Swift about any prominent lizards in Xana. Then again, I was pretty sure about my theory regarding Sean, but that turned out to be nothing, unless, y'know, it wasn't."

The cat stretched and coaxed free rides with watery eyes, as his kind typically did with their cunning ways. Mog obliged, offering his side to the cat. "Hop in the bag, it's cat sized anyways. You won't find purchase on my back with the plate armour covering it."

Kinny bagged the coin with the help from Einstein - the mouse was getting really good at managing the bag of moneyholding - and climbed in the Mog's bag. The leather pocket turned out to be very comfortable for his feline body and the cat soon found himself in a rather meditative state. If it wasn't for the surroundings, he'd probably be taking a nap right now.
"Now I see why Einstein decided to stay. I could get used to this." The black ball of fur purred from Mog's side as he walked around the festive town.
>>5874983
The quiet purring stopped for a minute when Mog SLAMMED the hammer at the target, but lazily resumed after. The cat was having the time of his life in the comfortable bag.

"Impressive bear! No one has ever made it that far yet! Now then wolf let's see how you stack."
>Mog then did his turn.
>Maybe because he knew how to strike the machine well but old wolf then made a strong strike onto it.
>It wasn't enough to reach the top but it was still high enough, reaching to the "Ooh yeah! Step into a Slim Jim! Ooh yeah!"
"Wowzers good sir. That was a good hit. Not enough to win the prize but it was a good enough of an attempt. Tell you what boys because you were good sports I'll give ya these balls. It's just a rubber ball for you to play with your cubs."
>As you get your prize you do end up seeing some vending tables.
Go to them?
>>
>>5874983
Ursus nodded in approval you do your people proud mog although I have no clue what a slim Jim is
>>
>>5875006
>Ursus then wandered toward the venders
To scout out what they have on sale
>>
>>5875013
>With a quick glance Ursus could see that most of the items for sale were some treasures found in like the city ruins of the old ones.
>Or at the very least very similar to them.
>Mostly with then being jars of jelly, peanut butter, or honey.
>Others being cans of various fruits, vegetables, and occasionally soup and noodles.
>Though probably best to avoid those.
>No matter how advance the preservatives were back in the day.
>Though you can definitely see that there was nothing to exactly buy.

Mog haphazardly tossed the ball into his side pouch onto Kinny's soft head. He didn't know if the cat appreciated chew toys as much as Mog did, but sometimes you had to set aside the old balls of yarn and try new things.

When the bear complimented him Mog took it in stride, he knew his strength. He nodded back to his companion, saying "You gave a decent showing yourself Ursus. Honestly, I have no idea what a slim jim is either."

>The wabbits then looked at Mog.
"Well we did have some stuff for sale since we had a ton of them. It was old art piece of some weird things happening. We assume it might be a prophecy of the end of the world. But then the wolves took it. Now we're only left with one! Only one! It's a shame too because now we have to preserve this one. We can't even sell it to you. We barely have anything to sell aside from snacks that the old ones used to eat. By the you want some of this chocolate stuff? We're not sure what it is but it can't be that bad right? We'll give you three for one silver."

"We were just minding our own business in the back of the shopping carts. We had a bunch of food and multiple items that came from the old world for sale. Suddenly before we reached the place, we stopped. It took us a while to recover but when we did we saw a bunch of wolves with no weapons surrounding us, telling us to give us "half the loot". Their fangs and claws were sharp, and we had no weapon to defend ourselves so we had no choice. So they took half the stuff from our cart. Before they left they said the Pack Leader would be very pleased by our "tribute". Now I am no expert on Wolf Politics but doesn't Canis Lupin have a queen and not a pack leader? Then again I am no expert."
Mog roll an History check with Advantage.
>>
>>5875060
"Hmm? Remember earlier? The cottontails were robbed by wolves, apparently bearing the banners of Canis Lupin. I posited that it might be a false flag operation or independents, but it could also be that my country is making concessions to the other factions or has been otherwise bribed or subverted, or even that they have finally aligned with a faction. As for who that could be, well, it could be any of them. Stealing wealth sounds like the pigs, brigandry or unwarranted taxes sounds like the apes, but even the lizards could have reason to get the wolves to steal human artifacts, remember, the cottontails are from the north, only Canis Lupin could access and intercept them aside from independents or deep raiders from the other factions, and the lizards want to burn human remnants. This is why we are escorting the cottontail chief to my folk."

Ursus got Advantage because I assisted him. So it should pass I think.

"Strange. No weapons, no armour? Referring to trade wares as 'loot' is also a little informal for tax collectors or police if they were legitimately wolves from a proper institution of Canis Lupin conducting what they saw as legal and proper extraction. Also weird that they didn't ask where you were from, or any other questions regarding the legality of your wares or the festival if they thought it might occur in their our territory, since a fair or festival usually has to be cleared with municipal authorities." Mog replied, enlightening all present to what he thought was the norm of his country.

He glanced sidelong to Ursus for his opinion, then brushed his sidepouch with Kinny in it with his hind leg for the same. After a moment to see if anyone wanted to speak up, he continued on, deciding to let them gather their thoughts first. "We do have 'pack leaders', but it isn't the rank of a leader of our country, it is an informal social rank, like saying you are the leader of a group of friends, or a unit, or a family. If they were military then they'd uses formal titles to refer to their unit leader. As for the Queen, yes and no. Vitelia wasn't a queen, though she was our leader for a while, nor are we a matriarchy, both he-wolves and she-wolves can rule. From what I recall, we were briefly a theocracy under Vitelia while she worked to change our culture and institute the bureaucratic practices she learned down south, then we became a constitutional monarchy, with a Senate and Assembly, though I don't know the details of what differentiates them nowadays or their specific legal powers, I do know that the reigning king or queen has a single vote in both houses for use as a tiebreaker, and a veto power that can be overruled with a easy simple majority of either house or even a large minority of direct vote of the populace under specific circumstances that escape me. Vitelia returned to merely being archpriestess of the faith, her successor helped reintegrate the Mars priesthood under favourable terms to the nation and the Moon and Earth. The throne went to some younger sibling of Calumn, and their descendants thereafter, can't remember all the royal welps though. Calumn's reintegrated children just became ordinary citizens, same with the few loyal followers he had left. Again, this is coming from someone who is not a historian and spent basically his entire life away from his country fighting the factions on land that used to belong to us and other animals, so take it with a grain of salt. Let me check through my knoggin to remember if I got those details right."

>Rolling history, though like I said, Ursus should've succeeded due to how Assist works. He gets advantage, it's not like he has to succeed on a roll just to give me advantage.

Phew, good thing I had advantage to negate that one.

It did with the first roll Ursus made

>For an old wolf who claims he is no history buff he does have the right answers.
>Still it was enough to be the answers for the wabbits questions.
"So they weren't working for royalty? Which means we lost a bunch of stuff for nothing! Fucking hell! And if Lizards did get a look of that stuff it's gone forever! Motherfucker! I hope the chief tells the wolf leader about this! Because we just lost a bunch of important items! Then again.... he can't exactly say what we lost. Otherwise all the tribes might be in danger. So I guess we just take it as a loss in profit."
Explore somewhere else or keep talking?
>>
>>5876243
Oh, okay. I thought you were making me roll history for the painting too. Though if Ursus's 20 succeeds then I think interpreting the painting >>5875066 >>5875047 still has to be addressed to see if it actually tells a prophecy.

"My sympathies merchant, I hope your heart is okay and that the bandits give you too bad a fright. I'd like you to accompany me to talk to the Frou Frou and Cottontail chiefs though. You're witness testimony will help prevent war between Canis Lupin and the Frou Frou, and help inform Chief Cottontail on the appropriate attitude to take to the judiciary in Canis Lupin. It'd be a great relief to prevent war and relieve tensions, yes? It'd be even more helpful if you could point me towards more witnesses, and if you could come along with us and the chief as witnesses for the court, there's goods to purchase in wolf country anyways, I can pay you for the trouble of travelling if need be." Mog said diplomatically.
>>
>>5876243
Hmm not necessarily depending on if we encounter them on our way to the wolf enclave we might be able to find what was stolen. You might not need to fight them off just yet.

>Ursus takes out a quill, inc and paper to weight down a few contacts he knows who trade in old one artifacts (the bears are really into preserving history)
Here keep this to yourselves I rather not get any attention on these individuals ok?
>Ursus hands them the note
>>
>>5876265
I don't think we need to. In character Kinny is tired and just wants to rest in my bag and move on it seems like. Out of character I don't know, but I imagine Kinny the player will just stay silent until he feels his character would chime in, rather than feeling obligated to make a post every time we post to match us. So I think we can move on as long as we remain in this town/festival scene. Once we transition to travelling we should definitely wait for him though.

"Okay. We'll try. Thank you again kind sir."
>>5876274
"We will good sir."
>Everyone soon started to head towards the Moo Vee area.
>Upon arriving you saw a bunch of rabbits looking up a cloth screen.
>On that screen was a black and white picture that seemed to move on it's own.
>It was like the recording you saw of Maggie's brother.
>Only it had this weird feeling of being in this weird dimension.
>Almost flat.
>Best to ignore it and look for the rabbits of Cottontail here.

Mog nodded as Ursus caught up.

Thinking Kinny and Einstein were asleep, he carefully deposited them on one of the nice seats facing the strange screen depicting a horribly uncanny mouse mutant. A softer bed than the inside of his bag for sure. Something to entertain the pair given what Mog assumed would be familiar material to both of them.

His eyes lingered on the screen a moment, his mind captivated by the strange world portrayed in black and white, but his legs carried him away nonetheless.
>>

>>5876284

Do require assistance with those disks?
>>
>>5876288

>>
>>5876290
>>5876289
"Disks? Wheels? No you stupid arses! These here are a bunch of film reels! Trying to set up the next film before showtime begins! I can't just leave them with absolutely nothing to watch after this here short ends. I got to put up a good film. "Sound of Music", bland as hell. "Gone with the Wind", pretentious and overrated as fuck! "The Godfather" insists upon itself. "Saving Private Ryan", too loud for our daft little ears. "Dumb and Dumber", exactly what the title says. "Waterworld", listen I like the old one actor as much as the next one but that film was shit! And don't get me started with all the horror films I have here! Yes they are good films but I am not going to be responsible for any of the little shits who decide to stay for "Frankenstein", and get heart attacks because "Ooh Mummy and Daddy the monster scares me! Gah my heart!" You won't believe how many kits were traumatized when I showed "Friday the 13'th" last year! That's why those films are for bucks and does! Not wee little ones who want to prove to their friends that their a brave boy, well their not a brave enough boy for this shit! Aye.... I wish everyone had the same tastes as me and enjoyed the classics. All of them starring Audrey Hepburn. Probably the only old one I might as well consider a goddess among old ones. But alas she is mortal. We lost her way too soon in my opinion.... so what are you little bastards doing over here again?"
>>
>>5876296
>Ursus takes a deep breath in and out.
I’m guessing all of those are movies right?
So those are old one horror story films, comedy? fantasy? Hmmm what’s this one Ursus gently holds the disk label god zilla hmm is this a religious figure if the old ones?

>>5876298
"Actually no. But it is literally one of the best films ever made. So I suggest you do not break it! That's my only copy of it left! Fecking wolves stole the other two copies I had! They probably stole all my copies of "Breakfast at Tiffany's" as well! Those motherfuckers better had not destroyed it if they did end up taking it! I'll find them, take their knots, and castrate them with a cereal spoon if they did! That film's a work of art and I will not sit idly by and let that get destroyed by some uncultured beasts who think that they can just waltz right in and steal my shit and say, "oh by the way this is mine now." NO IT FECKING ISN'T YOU DICK LICKING, TOILET DRINKING, BALL MUCHING, ASS EATING, MOTHER HUMPING BITCHES! THAT FILM BELONGS IN A GOD DAMN MUSEUM!!"
>>
>>5876299
No worries, sometimes a cats gotta do what a cats gotta do. No harm in spending your time elsewhere. We're not really in a super important scene, just wrapping up the festival before we transition back to travelling. Enjoy the holidays mate! See you next session.

>>5876296
"Well, no need to be rude about it. I may not be the brightest tool in the shed, but I'm not a donkey." Mog retorted, showing his teeth as he did so.

After a short stare-off the wolf relented and said "We came because some of the other witnesses of the wolf attack said you also witnessed the wolves shake down the caravan. Can you tell us what you saw, the others claim the wolves had no weapons but bore the banner of Canis Lupin and that they referred to a 'pack leader' rather than a formal rank, think you can confirm or deny that, and tell us more and remember anything else aside from that?"
>>
>>5876301
You’re not the only one who got robbed, anyway if we come across the films? that where stolen can you give us a description it’s most likely we might end up come across the very same wolves that robbed you and the others around here
>>
>>5876301
"I-I mean...there's a museum here in town. I know it is technically ape controlled, but frankly...I don't see any apes around here, and the forest guardians are dead, so it might as well be your town now." Mog replied hesitantly, taken aback by the aggressi-assertive, yeah assertive rabbit.
>>
>>5876302
"Oh I can confirm those stupid motherfuckers had no armor or weapons. They did have a flag though. A wolf devouring a dragon. That was what was on it. Dumbasses think they could take on a dragon. Feck no! They needed all of us to defeat one of them bitch ass dragons. But yes we were robbed by wolves wearing no armor and weapons with their nation's flag. But if you ask me they probably would have done better if they were wearing armor like yours. I distinctly remember one of the fuckers getting stabbed in the eye when he mentioned he sniffed something he was looking for. Not sure what the feck he was talking about though but I am sure glad he lost a fecking eye for stealing my films."
>>5876303
"There was also one motherfucker who was definitely brown. He was whispering a lot. Didn't make any loud peep whatsoever. Don't know why though."
>>5876304
"It's not our town. It's not fecking ape town either. It's everyone's town. Like the elders told us Relm said! I don't care who starts baby slapping their way to say it's their town, it's everyone's town! Plain and simple!"
>>
>>5876305
Wow this rabbit is blunt and straight to the point an admirable trait. So a wolf devouring a dragon hmm do you think they were using old one artifacts as bait? If so they are risking not only their own lives but the lives of others if they failed imagine a dragon so pissed off it could rampage across this country side to vent it’s anger Jesus these wolves are extremely cocky eh mog
>>
>>5876307
Replace Jesus with the frozen king
Maggie’s explitives are slowly sinking into Ursus’s vocabulary
>>
>>5876305
>>5876303
"I see retardation isn't limited to raccoons, it's contagious. One of the survivors of the forest guardians must've infected one of the bandits, there's no other explanation for how someone could poke out their own eye like that." The now thoroughly confused wolf muttered distractedly.

He briefly recounted what they knew in his head, before murmuring the most recent information aloud "A retarded wolf now with one less eye, and a brown wolf that whispers a lot, a warlock maybe? Not a lot of other reasons to be whispering to yourself. I'd hate to deal with another Simon, the infiltration shenanigans were a major hassle. Wait, oh GODDESS, Ursus, do you think the brown wolf could be Simon!? We never did find him in the entire crater."

His eyes glazed over as angry rabbit went on about how 'the town belonged to everyone' or something. A nice sentiment honestly, but someone was gonna dictate how things ran in the town if they didn't. Now that the forest guardians were gone, Mog wouldn't be surprised if the wolves and the apes turned the town into a warzone, though it'd probably only be a series of skirmishes in the grand scale of things.

"Uh...sure, thanks buddy. Do y'think you could tell what you told us to the chiefs so that war doesn't break out? We could also use witnesses to come with us to Canis Lupin to testify, and someone to show us the spot where you were ambushed once we hit the road." Mog said as he turned to leave.
>>
>>5876313
Jesus that would come full circle if he was if he’s Robbing people then that’s an even bigger reason we have to confront him
>>
>>5876307
"Bait for a dragon? Honestly, maybe. They could be Royalists, dissatisfied youth angry at the establishment, eager to return to 'the good old days'. I could imagine them being Mars worshippers in addition to being monarchists. Like I said, I haven't kept up with Calumn's offspring, but he still has some grand-welps laying around the countryside, a Silvian Restoration isn't really possible, the enthusiasm isn't there amongst the army. I can't speak for the greater populace though, my paw is only on the pulse of the army, since I'm a lifelong soldier. If they baited out a dragon and succeeded in killing it, they would gain a LOT of legitimacy. They could also simply be warmongers instead, people who want to rejoin the Faction war and establish Canis Lupin as hegemon over the entire continent. The only flaw I see in your idea is the flag itself. The wolf consuming the dragon is the flag of Canis Lupin, not some random banner displaying ideology, hence why I think it must be a false flag operation." Mog replied, giving his thoughts on the matter.

"Huh, I wonder what deeds could compel humans to worship someone. I'm assuming he's a mortal human from what you've said of him. Old Ones in general all seem so much larger than life when viewed through myth and what they've left behind, it makes this person sound even grander. But it also makes the humans sounds more...normal, I guess? They're not the first people to go worshipping some guy...well...I mean I guess they are technically, but you get the point. >Speaking of Maggie, you did end up finding her with the sleepy Kinny and Einstein.
>Watching the film on the screen.
>There you saw man from what seemed to be from a foreign land you have never seen before fighting a giant prehistoric creature.
>Probably because Maggie is still the only one still wearing a collar, but you guys can't understand the words coming from the movie.
>Then again even if you could understand human, the words within the screen seemed to be in a different human language.
>Seemed humans had different linguistics with each nation as well.
>Still it was easy to understand.
>The monster is a symbol of an unknown tragedy and the humans are simply the victims of the tragedy that are willing to try and fight back against it and maybe strive for a better future.
>Maybe.
>That was what Maggie came up with.
>Either way it was somehow relaxing to watch a giant lizard destroying the city.
>>
>>5876334
This quite profound using movies to convey meaning and the tragedy of some past this will stick to Ursus’s mind for a king time. He then wondered back to camp and rested like the bears of old in his tent
>>
Rolled 6 (1d20)

>>5876330
"Well said, as usual Ursus."

>>5876332
"Alright, goodnight."

>>5876334
Mog looked at the screen alarmed for a split second. A dragon!? This must be a recording of the war. No, no, he had to move on. Just one final stop to the chiefs before turning in for the night.

He lingered anyways. The secrets he could glean from this historical document were too important. Analysis could be done, knowledge reaped from seeing a flightless dragon in action without actually being there. The paladin had to take this chance to learn how to fight a dragon while the sight before him was on display.

>Roll to gain insights into dragons and how to fight them. Tell me what skill it would be and I'll tell you my bonus. Then I move on to the chiefs.
>>
>>5876337
Perception check.
>>
>>5876340
Well fuck I fail. My Perception bonus is +1, so final result of 7.

Anyways, I move on to see the chiefs.
>>
>>5876347
>As Mog witnessed how the humans defeated the giant monster... he couldn't understand how it was done.
>It seemed to be through some sort of device.
>One that, once placed in water would remove oxygen or something like that.
>Either way the device would reduce the monster into nothing but bones.
>Mog was pretty sure a device like this didn't exist.
>Still it was something.
>As Mog left, Maggie then got up from her seat and followed the wolf.
>But not before putting Kinny the Kot in the same tent as Ursus.
>She then proceeded to catch up with Mog.
>Took a while but the two eventually found the Leaders again.
>The chiefs were just beginning to remove the stuff from the Frou Frou Tribe.
>Chief Cottontail then noticed you.
"Oh it's the fine wolf from earlier. Something the matter?"
>>
>>5876349
"Just doing my due diligence, making sure the witnesses to the attack checked up with you, or will do so later. The first witnesses were the rabbits with the stall with a bunch of canned goods, chocolate and that one funny painting with the melting clocks. The next was a angry red furred rabbit with a green cap, the one that manages the film wheels, and who honestly sounds like a husky I know named Sean but...like...angrier. Anyways, the first group said the wolves referred to a 'pack leader' rather than a king or queen, meaning they were likely not military forces but just some informal gang of some kind. They also had no arms or armour and the witnesses said they didn't think the wolves worked for Canis Lupin. The second witness said one of them poked their eyes out rooting for stuff and that there was a distinctive brown furred wolf that whispered to themselves a lot, which sounds like a warlock to me." Mog rattled off the details to the chief, dutifully reporting the boring bureaucratic minutia involved in witness accounting.

"Anyways, they were supposed to report in to the Frou Frou chief to prevent the outbreak of war between our peoples, I'd appreciate it if you could also follow up with the hammer rabbit chief just in case they are too lazy to show up. I also asked them to come along with us to act as witnesses in Canis Lupin, who knows if they'll actually show up when we move to leave tomorrow though. I wanted to know if there were any other prominent witnesses you thought I should talk to tonight. If not, then I'm going to sleep. We can stop by the ambush spot on the way to Canis Lupin tomorrow, there might be tracks or a blood trail to follow in case these are just bandits."

>TL;DR I tell him what the witnesses said and ask him if there are any other witnesses I should talk to. If not I go to sleep.
>>
>>5876355
"I can assure you that I will let Chief Frou Frou know of your finds and try and calm him down a bit. As for any other witnesses... I am unsure. Sorry my friend. But I will say that most of the witnesses probably have the same story."
>Chief Cottontail then sighs for a bit.
"Hopefully we will have clear answers tomorrow. In the meantime I suggest you all take a small rest in the tents. We got plenty. Trust me."
Sorry I was called to help out. Not sure when I'll be back. Hope this was a good session.
>>
>>5876356
Mog nodded, running off with Maggie to find where his party had decided to turn in for the night so that he could finally rest and sleep off what little remained of the alcohol in his blood.

Alright, I'll still be here for a few more hours in case anyone wants to continue. If not then at least we got through the witness reports and can transition back to the adventuring.

HAPPY NEW YEARS MY FRIENDS!!

>>5876299
Happy New Years buddies! I hope your holidays were a joyful time!

Right on time. I hear fireworks outside.
>>
Bit of an update. Probably going to be late. If I don't show up tomorrow sorry in advance. Then again you guys are now sleeping. Just assume there is nothing going on for the rest of the night allowing you all to just talk for a while. Again, sorry in advance.
>>
Took a nap mid day, driving to the restaurant made me nauseous. Late night celebrations were a bit wild and my nap may have fucked up my sleep schedule, so I may be a bit late (or early, depending on how my night goes) as well tomorrow. I can probably still manage a short session, but I'll either be late or early but in need of sleep early on, we'll see.

Hope you all enjoyed the New Years celebrations.
>>
>>5879906
Alright cool see you then
>>
Adding to the new years complaints, I got sick last night. Fuck the christmas fish, whatever it's called. Carp. Very uncatlike to hate fish, but so what. Some cats like water. And I don't like waking up at midnight with burning desire to puke actively fighting the desire to lay comatose in bed. Fuck carp.
>>
Well, I'm here. Bit tired, but when am I not.

If I disappear then it is because I'm in the bathroom puking or I passed out.

>>5880314
Sorry to hear that buddy, hope you get well soon. Also, who da fuck eats carp?
>>
>>5880318
I'm fine since I woke up. Hell knows what's actually happened to me.
It's a ewropean christmas tradition, that's who.
Are you still nauseous? Have you tried one of them mint drops? Those things are sometimes like a healing potion for stomach. No fucking idea how americans call them. I mean the tiny-bottle with dropper on top, you take them with sugar or something.
>>
>>5880323
I think I'm fine now. Just had to lay down for a bit.

I don't know the mint drops you're referring to. If it is USA-specific thing then I wouldn't know what they are called either, same for Euro-stuff. Don't know all the brand names, despite being a frequent visitor.
>>
>>5880332
It's peppermint tincture.
>>
>>5880340
Ah, makes sense. I don't think we have any. I'll make a run to the store to get some for later this month though. Since my birthday is coming up.

Thanks for the advice.
>>
>>5880345
There's also a more medicin-y type, called gastric drops that has valerian, peppermint and st john's wort among other things. Same tiny bottles. I prefer mint drops because the mint taste really helps with nausea, but I think the more generalized version be better to deal with chronic stuff. Man, I hate the language discrepancies in food and medicine names.

>You all slept in your cozy large tent.
>Big enough for all of you to fit in.
>Though it was a bit of a tight squeeze for the big guy.
>Still it was comfortable enough for Ursus.
>Bobby was in another tent doing Moon Goddess knows what.
>Ord and Potato were in a tent together.
>Adler had his own tent with the slime Harold.
>Jenkins also only had his own tent.
>The party then took a long rest.
>They were going to need it for Canis Lupin.

>Later that night, Maggie was having a bit of trouble sleeping.
>Stomach pains coming from the Amber Ring about to wear off.
>But there was another thing on her mind.
"Hey Mog, Ursus, Kinny.... I've been thinking since we heard that one rabbit's story.... did.... did the lizards really start the war? I mean that's what I've been taught. So... why did he mention we smashed lizard eggs first?"
>>
>>5880381
Regardless of who started what it is a failing of both sides to resolve the issue like civilized people, if humans smashed the eggs first then the dragons should have tried to charge the perpetrators in your system for murder and the dragons who are a child should have been turned in For murder but this is one of those perfect scenarios which is impossible, individuals are smart people are paranoid reckless and stupid, it is the nature of conflict and besides regardless of what we know there will ALWAYS be a lack of information about the past, what matters is what we learn from the past and move on and focus on the present
>>
>>5880385
That’s supposed to say ate a child
>>
>>5880381
"That's a good question that I currently do not have an answer to." Kinny just woke up and was completely consumed by licking his paws, then pawing his face clean, then repeating, again and again until Maggie started wondering whether the cat's actions were simply OCD or early signs of dementia. Just as the girl was about to comment on this observation, the rogue abruptly stopped cleaning himself and looked her in the eye. "Or he didn't know everything because he was locked in laboratory while those... things happened and he just never checked? Maybe I'm forgetting something, I'm not fully awake." Kinny moaned.
>>
>>5880381
>>5880385
>>5880340
Mog let out a long suffering sigh, eventually finding the words he wasn't sure of himself but needed in the moment "I mean...to be blunt, yes, they did. At least if what we know so far is true. Both sides bear responsibility for all the little aggressions that led to the escalation up until outright war. But frankly child murder or egg smashing and the outright destruction of a nation are two different things. The humans may very well have performed the first act of unprovoked violence, of escalation, but of the specific acts Lanesboro mentioned, destroying a people group, a nation is what I would call 'starting the war'," he yawned, tired, and having been roused from a much needed sleep to listen to Maggie's anxieties, "Frankly, as wise and knowledgeable as Lanesboro is, I question how much we can trust his recounting of events. How does he know these apparently famous incidents? He was confined to a lab for much of these events, his only source of news would be scientists with their own biased views, biased for or against their own government's actions, as any people would be. He escaped in the midst of what sounds like a dragon attack, though it could've been an act of divine wrath for Niklas's sins, or even another human faction. After this he didn't see any other humans for a long time, his only information would the ruins of human society and...lizards. Hence why I'm suspicious of his recounting."

At this point the wolf debated continuing. Maybe he should just let Ursus and Maggie hash it out and then let her be alone with her thoughts. He was a grouchy old codger, he knew. A biased hater of all things draconic. Instead he opted to settle for resting his head of his forelegs and talking with his eyes closed "There's so many different aspects of this discussion we could go into. How many eggs were smashed initially? I'm sure over the course of the escalation there were many separate incidents, but what was the scale initially? It doesn't sound like a lot if the retaliation was a single child being eaten. At this point in the tensions, hope still remained for societal reformation and diplomatic settlements regarding whatever issues with population your kin and the lizards had. The murder of the young and unborn is horrendous, but if it weren't for the dichotomy between your two species, the thought in each of the species mind of one group being the 'Other', these initial incidents would just be treated as murders like any others, and be dealt with accordingly through whatever justice system you guys had. I guess the fact that it got passed that point was a failure of your and their people to not look inwards and then do something productive about it, to just blame the other. Trust me when I say I have a lot of experience being on both sides of this, both lashing out in hatred and trying to become better...and only mildly succeeding at the best of times. But I'm not th'best 'ta talk 'bout this, I hate dragons."
>>
>>5880436
The fact that you are up front and understand your biases makes your opinions and perspectives valuable mog thank for your input
>>
>>5880448
"Kind of you to say Ursus. Kind of you to say." Mog nodded subtly, his eyes still closed.

"We really oughtta try and sleep though, long road ahead of us."
>>
"I guess you are all right."
>Maggie said as she started to drift to sleep.
"Guess I'll see you all in the morning."
>>
Gonna have to call it a day for me. I hope to get back in swing of things next session when the holidays are over. Take care everyone.
>>
>>5880554
Alright have a good day
>>
Sorry for the lack of post boys. Been pretty busy.
>>
>>5880570
Should be available tomorrow.
>>
>>5885590
I as well.
>>
>After a very long rest it soon became morning.
>Most everything was gone and packed up.
>All except for a few things from the Cottontail tribe.
>You all woke up from your cozy tent.
>Well once cozy tent.
>Maggie was now back in her original form.
>Must have happened while she was sleeping.
>Maggie's almost Ursus size but thinner size was now making the place feel a bit more overcrowded.
>Thankfully it was still easy to get out of the area.
>Maggie was still asleep mind you but it was then Adler who woke the three of you up.
"You guys okay?"
>Adler asks.
"I don't know what sleeping with.... a rabbit.... yeah that's what she is, is like but it's probably best to get up. Chief Cottontail wanted to speak with some of you. So did Jenkins. I'm not sure you guys will talk to first but I wanted to let you know that."
>>
>>5886234
Ursus quickly covers Maggie in a blanket because she’s still getting used tp transformation and is probably in the nude
Then gets his trench coat and armor on good morning to everyone
>>
>>5886269
>Just pantless really but still an honorable thing to do.
>Ursus then heads out of the tent.
>Meeting up with Adler as he exits.
"Looks like celebrations are over."
>Adler observes.
"Still it was fun while it lasted. So what are we going to do now? Are we still heading to Canis Lupin, because I'm sure everyone is ready to go there now. Also I found some breakfast. Sorry it's not as salty as you guys like it."
>Adler then gives Ursus a bowl of freshly gathered berries.
"Hopefully they're all still good."
Eat berries Ursus or go find Chief Cottontail or Jenkins?
>>
>>5886274
Us bears are quite fond of sweets so thank you Adler
And to answer your question the plan still stands heading over to canid lupus, a problem like this needs to be taken care of before things get out of hand
>>
>>5886276
I would probably wait for the others to get their things ready before we speak to cheif cottontail speaking of chiefs how are you feeling about what happened?
>>
>>5886281
In the woods are you ok? I hadn’t been able to speak to you much and get an idea of your wellbeing and now seams like a golden opportunity Adler
>>
>>5886282
"I think I'm fine. I feel more free ever since I left the cult. I'm honestly not sure if I should thank you all conpletely just yet. Still there are some habits I can't shake off such as getting my horns ready to guard a room full of seeds. I can't just seem to shake it off. I'm also afraid of what Persephone will do to me once she found out I left her cult. You saw what she did to the apes, and I am afraid that must become my fate as well if I do end up on her bad side. But to feel free... it feels... comfortable."
>>
>>5886284
Don’t worry about her she has to get through me first before you, and besides she has a lot to answer for what she has done old one weapon or not.
>Ursus gives the deer a firm shoulder grasp
As for the seeds might I recommend using that technique to defend those in danger like civilians, an ability like that is far more useful as a shield than a door to a shed. Imagine in your minds eye the barrier as a tool to defend yourself and others. And as for forgiveness I understand that that comes with time I’m quite sorry for how things played out and the death involved that will probably stick with me for a long time
>>
>>5886292
"I can try that. I can try being you guys' shield."
>Adler says to the bear.
>Suddenly the brown rabbit who was told to go with you guys then exits her tent.
>Caramel then stretches a bit.
>Looking very relaxed.
>Caramel then goes up to Ursus.
"Nice to see you still here big guy. So where's your bunny friend? Did her amber ring wear off and she turned back into a fox?"
>Caramel asks.
>>
>>5886299
Well Ursus quickly whisper asks Maggie if she wants to talk to caramel and get the surprise over now or deal with it later?
>>
>>5886299
She isn’t a fox either, remember when dib was on stage talking about the weird being he saw at the bar
>>
>>5886303
>>5886304
>Maggie is still sleeping.
>Caramel can obviously hear her snoring.
"So.... she's tired? Is this because of the alcohol last night. Because I saw your catfriend really wasted. She was clearly having the time of her life though."
>>
>>5886306
Well Bobby was not being a good bar buddy last night she let her out of her sight on multiple occasions and had lost concentration with her rings form, and dib had discovered her in the bar closet hiding, I had to run distraction while kinny and mog got her out
>>
>>5886309
"Dib? Oh you mean the crazy guy. I think he drowned last night. No wait that just a fish. Still he's an annoying little crazy guy don't mind him. He just believes that strange creatures such as mermaids, unicorns, and vampires exist. They clearly don't though. Their just other names for fish, horses, and bats when others want to go down on them. Silly Dib."
>>
>>5886311
Well it shows a very imaginative and creative mind to believe in those creatures, although I’m not really mad at him btw I just had to make the rest of the bar believe I was that way I could keep them from trying to figure out Maggie’s form
>>
>>5886312
Brb eating lunch. Will be back later.
>>
I'm here. Give me a few minutes to catch up.
>>
>>5886321
Good to see ya Mog

>>5886312
>Caramel then looked over at you for a bit.
"Is she like an ugly fox or something? Nothing wrong with being an ugly fox. In fact foxes still look sexy even if they are ugly."
>>
>>5886343
Nope, old one, keep that fact to yourself btw because there are many beings that will kill for that information understand?
>>
>>5886356
"..... You didn't eat fermented fruit last night right?"
>Caramel asked.
"It's true she is."
>Adler added in.
>Getting more confused looks from the brown bunny.
"But she doesn't look ancient."
>>
>>5886317
>>5886312
I'm a little tired myself, not just my character, but I hope we have a good session regardless. Sadly, I'll definitely be a little slower posting as well. I have some things I have to do around the house, some errands to run as well. Can still participate though.

"Mornin' everyone, did you all have a good sleep?" Mog managed to say, fighting off a yawn.

His morning routine took longer than usual, it wasn't the usual aches and pains. Perhaps the alcohol he'd consumed had taken its toll, maybe it was his nervousness to finally return to his home country after spending a lifetime away. He took his time donning his armour, noting almost everyone seemed to be awake already. The berries he consumed quietly, without a word of complaint or played up joke about pomegranates ever passing his lips. Finally he gathered up the little rings of amber that he'd left out in the moonlight, slipping a fresh one onto Maggie's finger and taking the old one.

"Your disguise just has to last a little longer, we'll be on the road soon. Here, c'mon, wake up." he murmured encouragingly, prodding her gently awake. She could sleep in, he just needed her awake for a moment. They couldn't have someone stumbling upon her in her sleep.

When he was done he wandered back over to Ursus. Whispering, he said "Sorry to put this on you buddy, but can you make sure Maggie transforms back into a rabbit? I wanna get this show on the road, don't have time to coax her out of her sleep. Try and make sure Caramel stays distracted too, we'll make the decision on whether to trust her or not halfway down the road, before we stop by the site of the bandit attack."

Then the sleepy wolf motioned vaguely outward in a sweeping gesture. "Lead the way to Jenkins, Adler. Pack before chief and all that."
>>
>>5886358
Because she’s using a magic ring to not draw attention, there are beings out there that would hunt her down and kill her because her existence would shift the status que along with the entire town she stepped foot in, old ones are like us mortal except they are advanced in tech to the point it’s like magic and said magic had her frozen in stasis until mog and kinny met her, I admit I had some idea what she was judging from the still remaining artifacts that the historians my people have coveted, she is a soldier a warrior, and she has been through many things that would have broken many and I am here to help her and bring the old ones back from the edge of extinction
>>
>>5886343
>>5886356
>>5886358
Ah, should've refreshed before posting. My bad. Lets just say that while I was getting ready for the morning or while I was try to wake Maggie up, you ended up telling her where I couldn't hear before I came out to talk to you Ursus. That way my post still flows and you still end up telling her.
>>
>>5886363
Yup
>>
>>5886343
You too, friend. Hope your week went well.
>>
>>5886360
"Yes sir."
>Adler said as he went on to lead Mog to Jenkins."
>It only took a good fe seconds but it felt like hours due to how sleepy Mog felt.
>Mog then came face to face with Jenkins.
>In front of him was a bag of silver.
>He was of course counting it.
"That's 10%."
>The fox whispered to himself.
"Ah Mog. Just in time. I wanted to talk to you about something."
>>5886361
>Caramel then looked at the bear for a bit.
>She then tried to peek inside the tent.
>Only to see the sleeping Kinny the cat.
>No sign of an old one at all.
"So if she is an Old One... then she clearly knows everything about the world right? Old Ones are the smartest creatures to ever exist... well next to dolphins but no one has ever seen a dolphin in like... a decade."
>>
>>5886373
"Speak your mind Jenkins. What's up?" Curious behaviour from the fox, maybe he wanted to take his cut and retire from the warband?

Darker thoughts of what it could be briefly intruded on his mental landscape, but he banished them. Better to wait and listen.
>>
>>5886373
While she knows an impressive amount of knowledge she is a soldier not an acedemic we have learned a lot from her such as how electricity works in their machines and how to operate the weapons she weilds but she is not an academic but that’s ok she has other knowledge involving tactics and warfare.
Old ones from my understanding are a race that had the time to develop their insane technology they are probably very smart as a whole
>>
>>5886375
>Jenkins then sat down.
"I am grateful for you and Kinny saving me Mog. I do support your idea of possibly fighting off the enemy. But all this is starting to be complicated. I just want to settle down and have a peaceful life. So I am taking my 10% and then heading out of here. This isn't the place for me anymore. I am parting ways with you all once we reach wolf kingdom. Besides, not much of a fighter really. Can't really bring anything to the table. Is this okay with you?"
Allow Jenkins to leave or have him stay with you a bit longer (roll persuasion, DC 17, if you do)?
>>5886378
"But she could lead to someone who is smart right?"
>Caramel asks excitedly.
>>
>>5886381
From my understanding we have a high likelihood of finding smart old ones as we continue on in our quest but be wary there are remnants of old one living weapons like the one who was controlling the cult Adler was raised in her dwellings are where we found the rings
>>
>>5886384
"Oh you mean guns?"
>>
>>5886387
No I mean living monsters who can do things like turn a couple apes into amalgamations of ape and tree in extreme pain
>>
>>5886389
>Caramel looks.... intrigued.
"So... the old ones are gods then. Or at the very least some of them are."
>>
>>5886396
No they are not gods and neither are the living weapons because they both are mortal they have the same range of abilities as we do if without claws, horns, hide, hoofs or fur instead they made their own claws horns hides and tools like us they learned from the natural world and they gleaned how to become titans and we live in the shadow of self made titans, the living weapons where made out of desperation and unforeseen destruction the very same thing that made them nihm made us all intelligent it spread across the food web giving us our minds forever changing our species gifting us the gift of intelligence and now we are at the same brink they where when they started out except now we have their artifacts all around us
>>
>>5886403
"You sure do know a lot about Old Ones Ursus."
>>
>>5886406
I have learned from her, from king and mog and from the left over history covered in the ash and fire of the fight between the drakonians and humanity the dragons and the old ones back home we only have a small portion of the whole and I have learned this knowledge just by joining this quest.
>>
>>5886408
(Auto correct replaced kinny with king kek)
>>
>>5886411
Well that is what Kinny is.
>>5886408
".... Do you think I can see what the Old One looks like?"
>>
>>5886414
Stick around long enough and your bound to see her form, imagine the figures that kinny sold without the feline features
>>
>>5886416
"....... so she walks around naked? Just like the old arts depicted them?"
>>
>>5886420
Not willingly what with her inexperience with the rings. Although typically we provide her clothes when she asks I typically throw a blanket on her for her privacy
>>
>>5886423
"... clothes? But why? I thought the human form was perfect?"
>>
>>5886381
Sorry, was busy helping around the house. Honestly, I'm fine with Jenkins leaving, Kinny was tired of redundant NPCs anyways. We already have the cats+Kinny, and are taking on caramel. The idea was that we needed more members to fill auxiliary and staff functions for the party, since we only had 2 players initially. But that was before we took on the slime, Adler, Caramel, and may be recruiting an army in Canis Lupin. Initially I wasn't actually sure recruiting an army was on the table for QM, so getting a bunch of NPCs to do a typical "Player party + hirelings fight the world" style campaign made sense. Not so much now when we are getting more useful hirelings and our cast is already bloated. This was all for the Faction War B plot, compared to the Xenarus and Old One A plot, though I suppose either could take central stage at any point. Arguably, the Faction War stuff actually has.

Mog grimaced, letting out a slow shaky breathe he had been holding, then nodded. "Figured that'd be it. Fair enough, you made yourself clear on where you wanted to end up back when we took you on. Technically the 10% cut was supposed to be split between you and Ursus, for 5% each, but seeing as we're making Ursus a full member of the party, I think you can take the whole 10%. You did try and help out in the fight with the cultists, I 'ppreciate it despite you zapping me. Take your silver, settle down, you're back amongst the canines. Don't be a stranger though, it'd be nice to see a friendly face once in a while, we travel so much, it doesn't happen often, seeing the same face twice."

His restraint lapsed, and he indulged in dark speculations. Jenkins had worked for Clayton, who'd been nearby the vault. Jenkins, knew a lot about the hominids. Jenkins could be a spy. Jenkins would fit in to wolf society, being a canine himself. Jenkins meeting the party had been a strange coincidence. Jenkins would now have insight into another player at the upcoming diplomatic talks - them - and could very well easily meet up with a spymaster handler of his given that diplomats would be freely moving around Canis Lupin.

Ultimately the elder wolf dismissed these thoughts. No one would willing attempt to time a meeting with them by getting choked by a hellish metal creature they couldn't control. Jenkins was a fellow canine who had been conscripted into the ape's service, had Mog not once been forced to fight his kin at swordpoint or die? The waning hours of the lost war weighed heavily on him, he'd been strong enough to escape bondage and prevent severe moral injury, avoiding battling his kin for long. Now the fox would have a well deserved homecoming.

If Jenkins was a spy, so be it. They had no proof, and the fox had did what was asked of him honourably enough. (1/2)
>>
>>5886381
>>5886431
Maggie's secret would come out soon enough anyways, they couldn't hide it forever. There were better ways to infiltrate spies into Canis Lupin anyways, disaffected folks, coerced prisoners of war, the diplomats.

He wanted to part ways with the fox amicably, so he held out his paw to shake.
>>
>>5886430
Ursus looks toward the tent and whispers to them
Hey Maggie is the human form perfect?

"I thank you for understanding Mog. Please give Kinny my regards."
>He said as he shook his paw.
"I do hope we meet again but when we do meet again you have achieved your goals. So I think we should head off to Canis Lupin?"
>>5886435
>Maggie groggily woke up.
>Kinny the cat still on top of her legs.
"Human what perfect? The hell you talking about Ursus?"
>She said as she felt a massive headache.
>>
>>5886443
Sorry for the word jumble
Here’s a better written paragraph
(If had to ask someone that a body type was “perfect” why not ask the person who lives in it 247)
>>
>>5886444
Oh caramel was asking if the human form was perfect, since she’s coming with us o figured an entire explanation of what she’s getting into was proper
>>
>>5886446
>The clearly hungover Maggie then picked up Kinny and went outside as she carried him.
"Why the fuck do you want to find out whether the human body is perfect? She isn't calling me fat right?"
>>
>>5886452
No I think it’s more a religious thing
>>
>>5886452
Tell you what if you answer her I’ll go make you breakfast to help deal with your hangover
>>
>>5886444
"Will do. I just have to quickly talk with the chiefs, then we'll finish packing up and be on our way. Might be a quick stop by the bandit ambush site, but it's on the way if I understand things correctly. Pack your things, anything from our nearby forest camp too, we'll be leaving in a few minutes, or when Maggie gets up."

With that matter concluded, Mog turned to Adler. "Can you show me where the chiefs are?"
>>
>>5886453
>>5886456
"What the hell does me having a perfect figure have to do with religion?!"
>Maggie said as she was somewhat annoyed.
"I really need some water."
>As Maggie continued to look a bit off, Caramel couldn't help but stare at the human.
>Her mouth open wide in amazement.
>She then immediately went over to Maggie.
"Oh my goodness!! You're just as sexy as I dreamed!!"
>Maggie couldn't help but look at the rabbit awkwardly.
>Probably thinking she was still a rabbit.
>But then finally realized she was looking down at the rabbit.
"Oh fuck."
>Maggie silently said to herself.
>Maggie then ran back to the tent as she carried Kinny with her still.
>>5886459
>Adler then led Mog to the chiefs.
>Cottontail was busy packing his own stuff for himself.
>He then noticed Mog.
"Hello there Mog. I am currently getting ready to travel with you guys. I have a few rations for me and your party."
>>
>>5886460
Ursus hands her his water skin poking it into the tent now you know what I had to deal with for the past evening he told Maggie.
>>
>>5886462
>Maggie then quickly took the waterskin.
"I know! I was there with you telling her that it was rude to talk about your queen that way! But at least when she was sexually talking about you, you were completely clothed! Thank you for the waterskin by the way!"
>>
>>5886468
Still extremely flustering to be honest especially when she brought up the Kama sutra
>>
>>5886460
"We have plenty of rations for ourselves still, from Plato and the forest cultists, if it helps affect your travel planning," Mog chimed back, looking around to see if there was any items that the chief might want to take along now that he knew he didn't need rations for the whole group, "by the way, your people can help themselves to the supplies in the crater if they ever want to move closer to this holy site. It's empty, pretty much, most of the cultists are dead. There's probably even a few Old One artifacts lying around left by Persephone. Anyways, was that all you wanted to tell me? We're just about ready to go ourselves."
>>
Sorry I am a bit slow guys. I think it's best we wait for Kinny on Thursday. If I remember last time, Kinny got sick on New Years. I will respond to the last posts.

>>5886477
"Wait does the human carry the book with her?!"
"Fuck no!"
>>5886481
"Well I have this. It was given to me by some hare named Lanesboro. He told me these would help you."
>The rabbit chief then handed you some items.
>A Silver Shortsword.
>A Silver Dagger.
>A Silver Battleaxe.
"He told me that you guys might need it later. He told me they were really fragile though. So be careful when using them."
>>
>>5886484
>>5886477
Alright, sorry for my own slowness. I'll see you all Thursday, hopefully Kinny shows up. We are finally moving on. Enjoy your week guys.

Mog examined the weapons. Beautiful, but soft and malleable. Silver? But...oh, no! Werewolves?!

Sorry everyone, I had a busy fucking day for the first time in months and only just now remembered to check in here. Sadly or thankfully, for you, I won't be available this Thursday, because I'm seeing a therapist like the loon I am.
>>
>>5886590
Ah, well, I think QM wants to wait for you. I think we're moving onto a combat next session, so continuing without you won't fly. Same for when we enter Canis Lupin, your stealth skills will probably be useful for any eavesdropping/stealing we end up doing due to the whole diplomacy thing.

I guess I'll see you all Tuesday instead then, assuming you can make it.

Hope your therapy goes well.
>>
>>5886590
I hope your Therapy Session goes well. Know when you return you will be getting hugs by Maggie.
>>
>>5886590
Nice cruelty squad meme
Have a good therapy session
Me and family are heading to a bearfest
>>
Definitely going to be here tomorrow.

It's going to be -4 F this week where I am...... I hope you are all safe where you guys are. Stay safe Friends.

May be a short session from me tomorrow, I might be needed somewhere. Also depends on how well I sleep tonight.

-4 F huh? About the same temperature here, -20 C at the coldest here in my local area, though usually more like somewhere between -5 to -10 C, -15 C at night.
>>
>>5886477
>Maggie continued to hide in the tent for a bit, until she was fully clothed.
>Still she couldn't help but agree with the bear a bit.
>But still felt her situation was a bit worse.
>As Maggie stayed at her tent, Caramel went up to Ursus.
".... So that was an old one?"
>Caramel asks the giant bear.
>>5886495
"Yes they are fragile. I would say brittle is more of the word we are looking for. Still very fine blades if I do say so myself. As for what they are for... I do not know. But I would use them sparingly if I were you. Either way it makes me feel safer now that I am going with you to Canis Lupin."
>>
>>5893011
"Happy to help, Chief Cottontail. If there's nothing else, we should be off," Mog turned to exit the tent, before looking over his shoulder and asking almost as an afterthought "hey, you got an easier name to say other than Chief Cottontail?"
>>
>>5893020
"I did once go by the name Len. So you may call me that."
>>
>>5893029
"Alright, well, good to know you Len. I'm Mog, if I didn't already introduce myself. The festivities last night may have caused it to slip my mind." Mog motioned out of the tent, before sliding out into the clear air.

>I go to meet back up with the party.

We should probably wait for Kinny and Ursus now, it is hard to continue without them. Kinny still might not be feeling well, and Ursus didn't say how long he and his family were gonna be gone to the bearfest (beerfest?). So, if they don't show up in a few hours I'll eventually archive the thread and we can try again next Tuesday for a proper session.
>>
>>5893037
Alright. Let's just hope they are all safe from the snow.
>>
>>5893039
I imagine Kinny stays inside a lot, and Ursus is a bear, so he'll be fine.

Jokes aside, I think they'll be fine.
>>
>>5893045
Me staying inside a lot for the past seven years has not been a good thing, kind sir. I have royally fucked up.
>>5893011
Sorry for not being here today. My thread alarm got fucked, but to be honest I wasn't feeling it anyway.
>>5892599
-5°C to -10°C here, afaik. Actually forced me to not wear a hoodie like a fucking faggot.
>>
>>5893259
It's okay friend. Sometimes we need a break. Sorry if all the partying that came from the rabbits was too much for you Friend.
>>
>>5893259
Yeah, you and me both on the staying inside bit.

>>5893291
Anyways, I'll archive this thread tomorrow and hopefully see you all next week. There should still be one unused image of Mog that has been reposted a couple of times for use as the next thread image.

Take care friends.
>>
OH SHIT sorry guys after bear fest I got some cold and had a massive headache during the night so my ability to function and reason was impaired sorry about missing the play I was genuinely out if it
>>
>>5893557
It's okay Friend. Like I said everyone needs a breather occasionally.
