Last time on Cutémon, you escaped Rust City just ahead of the Traders, a shadowy group of rare mon dealers who captured your friends in hopes of finding you! A little lost on the prairie, you and Ramster met a young human girl named Katie Redfern whose hirsute herd of Hairgrazers had been hijacked out from under her and her father Cliff. With their gentle giant Terrabull too big for the task, you and Katie sneaked out of the house, and after learning the Hairgrazers were out-rustled by a horrible Araknagrab you risked certain doom to save the last of the Hairgrazers and brought down the roof with your exit!

Taking a Terrabull taxi to Copper Citadel, you and Ramster parted ways with Katie and Cliff, and wandered your way toward the science tower of Professor Ginger, but not before encountering the tan-tufted Tamounda and saved him from the Copper Citadel Mon Control! Your trio trekked to Professor Ginger's tower, where the way was barred by the superintelligent Springblok! With a slip of Tamounda's tongue you met Professor Ginger, who was able to unlock the inner workings of Professor Plumtree's strange invention, the cutécaptor. Springblok's suspicion of Tamounda proved correct, and Tamounda led you to discover a hidden lair of feral mons underneath the Copper Citadel Arena led by the reclusive psychic-type mon Smellapath.

Caught by Plumtree in the corridor of the arena, Springblok and Ramster sparred with Professor Plumtree's mechanical mon Onlion long enough for you to escape by enrolling Ramster and Tamounda in that evening's mon fighting tournament! Ramster's reserve was just barely enough to burst Waterbear's bubble, and with Tamounda too timid to tussle, you quickly lost to Starr, a young human woman with a Clambreak, a Chompex, and a debt to the Traders that threatened all three of her mons! Your charitable donation to the Traders' lackey Donaldo and his ominous Ourobros kept them from collecting any of Starr's mons, and Starr was able to sweep her second round!

The victory was short-lived, as you and Starr faced the last round against Ward, a psychic opponent with three undead-type mons in tow! When Ward threatened to expose your true nature in front of the entire crowd, you took to the streets and the undead-type mons took down themselves! In the final battle against Ward, a last-ditch effort revealed Ward was really a human-type mon called a Psykid!

"...I mean, whose idea was it to put all these bugs out here? And would it really kill them to put in a food court, or at least a sandwich shop?"

What? Starr is still complaining about being outside in the wilderness?

You turn your head and look at Ramster on your shoulder.

What? Ramster is wearing earplugs so he can't hear Starr complaining?

You reach into your jacket pocket to take out your Travel Map. It feels like you still have your Car Key for your car parked in the Rust City Arena, the Cutécaptor, and your Video Game!

What? You still have a long way to walk before you get to the X on your map?

"...And don't get me started on that Ward kid. I'll be glad if I don't have to ever see him again. Talk about creepy, you know? And those undead-type mons! But hey, at least we won, right guys?"

Starr's mons all look at her and nod!

"Waddabeah!"

"Chompex!"

[SFX: double shell clap]

"Ram-ram!"

What? Ramster is tugging on your shirt? It seems like he just noticed something behind you!

You look behind you and see a pickup truck with two humans in it coming up the road toward you! There's a huge Hamblok in the back of the pickup truck!

Tamounda hides behind your legs and peeks out at the pickup truck and says "Tamounda!"

What? You feel like you should run into the trees and hide from the humans in the pickup truck?

"It's about time someone came along! Hey! Hey! Hold it!" It looks like Starr is already waving at the pickup truck!

You reach up and adjust the baseball cap on your head. You can't fool any humans into thinking you're a human girl unless you're wearing a hat!

The pickup truck slows down and stops next to you and Starr. It looks like an old human man is driving! The other window rolls down and an old human woman looks at Starr and says "Do you young folks want a ride? We're taking this Hamblok to the Professor in Ferropolis. Poor thing's tail isn't coiling all the way!"

The Hamblok looks at the old human woman and says "Hamblok..." What? You think the Hamblok sounds pretty sad? It's probably because there's something wrong with her tail!

What? You just realized that the old human woman said they were going to a professor?

"Why don't you young folks climb on in the back?" The old human woman waves at Hamblok and says "Move over, Hamblok!"

Hamblok looks down at you and Starr and lifts up a fold of fat!

Starr looks at Hamblok and then looks at you. "Hey, it beats walking."

It seems like Starr really doesn't want to walk any further!

You all climb into the back of the pickup truck next to Hamblok! You can barely fit! You're completely surrounded by Hamblok's fat!

At least it's harder to hear Starr complaining now!

The pickup truck only takes an hour to go all the way to Ferropolis! If you kept walking you wouldn't have made it here until after dark, but it's only noon!

What? You just remembered that the old humans are taking Hamblok to a professor? You're not sure if this was a good idea!

When the pickup truck stop moving all the other mons climb up onto Hamblok!

"Ram-ram!"

"Tamounda!"

"Waddabeah!"

"Chompex!"

[SFX: double shell clap]

You peek up over the edge of Hamblok's fat roll!

What? You don't see any professors? It looks like it's just a human boy!

Hamblok looks down at the human boy and says "Hamblok..." She still sounds pretty sad!

The old human man rolls down his window and says "Thanks for meeting us on short notice, Professor Bean!"

What? The human boy is actually a professor? You can't believe it!

Professor Bean pulls out a small object and looks at it for a moment. "Hmm... According to my portable mon scanner, there are seven mons present, not six."

What? You're not sure how many mons are here? Well, there's you, and Ramster, Tamounda, Waterbear, Clambreak, Chompex, and Hamblok, which means there are seven mons here.

What? You just realized Professor Bean is talking about you? You duck back down behind Hamblok's fat!

Professor Bean looks at the mon scanner again and says "Either my equipment is broken, or one of the mons is... ulp!" What? Professor Bean's cheeks are turning red?

The old human woman looks at Hamblok and says "Hamblok!"

Hamblok looks at the old human woman and shakes her head! "Hamblok!"

When Hamblok shakes her head, you and Starr both get pushed out of the pickup truck and land on the ground!

You both stand up and the old human man says "It's her tail, Professor. It's... Professor?"

What? Professor Bean isn't even looking at Hamblok? It seems like he can't stop looking at Starr!

"Huh?" Starr looks down at Professor Bean.

What? You just noticed Professor Bean has a strange expression on his face? "Um... I'm, um... Bean. Professor. I mean, Professor Bean!"

Starr crosses her arms. "Yeah, we heard."

"Um... I'm... I'm the youngest world in the professor! I mean..."

"You sure aren't the smoothest." Starr looks at the old humans pushing Hamblok out of the pickup truck.

You look at Professor Bean. What? It seems like his cheeks are even more red than before!

Starr looks down at him and says "Hey, Professor Sprout, where's the nearest arena? We need to make some quick coins to pay for our room."

"Um... I... I have some washing that needs lab equipment! I mean..."

"Forget it." Starr looks at you and says "The first rule of mon training is: Always check out the competition. Let's go to the Ferropolis Arena and see if there's any action there."

"Hamblok!" What? The humans are trying to push Hamblok toward Professor Bean's laboratory but she doesn't want to go?

Hamblok tries to hide behind you!

The old human woman can't believe it! "Hamblok, get off of that poor little girl! I'm so sorry, she's not usually like this around strangers!" The humans are trying to pull Hamblok off of you!

What? You just noticed that Professor Bean wasn't helping because he's still looking at Starr? When Starr notices she turns around and starts walking away!

The old human man looks at Professor Bean. "Thanks again for seeing Hamblok, Professor. Professor?"

"Hmm? Oh!" Professor Bean looks up at the old man and says "People from the surrounding communities often bring their mons to me for medical treatment. In fact, I was expecting a Racclone from Tinville. Even though they're coming from the other side of the ruins, they should have been here by now."

You finally climb out from under Hamblok!

Professor Bean takes his portable mon scanner out of his labcoat pocket and starts waving it around Hamblok. Hamblok looks at Professor Bean and says "Hamblok..."

What? You just noticed Professor Bean is waving the portable mon scanner toward you?

You catch up to Starr as quickly as you can!

When you get closer Starr glances at you. "What did that little brat say to you?" Before you can say anything she waves her hand and says "Forget it, I don't even want to know. Come on, let's find the arena."

After a while you find a big building that looks like the Rust City Arena and the Copper Citadel Arena!

What? You just realized that you've seen three mon fighting arenas so far? You're starting to get pretty familiar with them!

"About time! Alright kid, let's take a look at our competition. Some of these other mon trainers might be planning on competing in the canyon."

What? Is Starr talking about the X on your travel map?

When you and Starr walk inside the arena you see a crowd of humans shouting! They seem pretty angry! One of them has a mon that looks like a giant bulb with a face! It's a Turnipper!

"I know you've always been jealous of how well-trained my Rabbadrab is! Admit it, you stole him!"

"That thing? Don't make me laugh! Besides, my Frigeon is gone too! I know he'd never leave me. Someone must have taken him!"

"Who cares about some flying-type mon, my Leafhorn disappeared last night!"

"Tamounda!"

What? All the humans stopped arguing when they heard Tamounda? They're all looking at you now! You can't help your cheeks turning red!

The human with the Turnipper points at you and Starr and asks "Who are you?"

"I've never seen them before. Or their mons!"

"Maybe they stole 'em!"

"Turrr-nipper!"

Another human comes out of the arena office and says "I don't want any trouble in here. You two, get out!"

Starr glances at you. "Hey, we can take a hint. Right, kid?"

When you get back outside Starr says "Looks like we might not be able to win any coins in the Ferropolis Arena after all. I wonder what happened to all those mons."

You look up at Starr.

"The Traders?"

Starr shrugs. "Maybe. But the Traders don't deal in common mons. Those mon trainers said the missing mons are a Rabbadrab, a Frigeon, and a Leafhorn."

What? You just remembered Professor Bean said something about another mon?

"And a Racclone!"

"Huh? Who told you that?"

"Professor Bean!"

Starr is looking off into the distance! It seems like she's thinking about something! "A Racclone... Now that's a rare mon. I bet whoever owns it would give a nice reward for finding it. Did that brat say where the Racclone was supposed to be?"

What? Starr is asking you where Professor Bean said the Racclone was from? You had better tell her!

"Tinville!"

What? You're not sure exactly where Tinville is? You take out your travel map and look at it.

Starr points at a spot on your travel map and says "Tinville. Talk about the middle of nowhere! Still, it might be worth sniffing around. Right, Chompex?"

Chompex nods and says "Chompex!"

What? Starr is thinking about going to Tinville instead of going to the X on your travel map?

Starr looks at you and says "Hey, relax, kid. They only hold fights in the canyon during the full moon. We've got at least three days until then."

What? Your stomach is rumbling? It's probably because you haven't eaten anything today!

Starr takes a candy bar out of her pocket and starts eating it! What? Starr has a candy bar? That's not fair!

Starr sees you looking at her and breaks off a piece of the candy bar. "Hey, eat up. This might be our last meal unless we can figure out a way to get some coins. And before you say anything, I'm not washing any of that brat's test tubes!"

"Ram-ram!" Ramster is pointing at the Ferropolis Arena!

What? You just realized that the Ferropolis Arena probably has a mon entrance just like the Rust City Arena and the Copper Citadel Arena?

We're getting off-track. our main objectives are t save our friends and avoid capture, right? Then let's see if we can get a mon-tracker, especially one which (if we can work out a deal) can maybe be calibrated to seek out a specific mon which we know belongs to the trappers... Like Rattletrap, say. or even Joe's weird shark monster or Mashi's flying-type. Could also be useful for detecting and avoiding Onlion.

What? You just noticed that you're walking past Professor Bean's laboratory? Maybe you should say goodbye to Hamblok before you leave!

"Hey, you aren't going back to Professor Brat, are you?" Starr can't believe it! "Alright, make it quick, will ya?"

You walk through the door of Professor Bean's lab! It looks a lot like Professor Plumtree's lab. You're not sure where to go!

"Hamblok!"

What? You just heard Hamblok? It sounded like it came from the far end of the hall! You walk down the hall and peek your head in. It looks like Professor Bean fixed Hamblok's tail! She doesn't seem upset anymore! When Hamblok sees you she says "Hamblok!"

"Oh, it's you!" Professor Bean is looking at you! "Um... did your friend come with you?"

What? Is Professor Bean asking about Starr? You're not sure what to say!

"She's probably a top mon trainer. That's probably why you're both here in Ferropolis, isn't it? To look for rare mons, I mean. Is your friend looking for any mon in particular?"

You nod your head!

"Racclone!"

"Racclone?" Professor Bean looks at you. "You mean the Racclone from Tinville? Here, I'd better give you this." He reaches into his pocket and takes out his portable mon scanner!

What? Professor Bean is giving you his portable mon scanner? He points at it and says "If there are any mons in range, it will glow. The brighter the glow, the closer the mon. To activate the device, press this button."

Professor Bean pushes the button! The portable mon scanner starts to glow!

What? Professor Bean is pointing the portable mon scanner at you?

Professor Bean looks up at you. "Um... There are obviously a few calibrations still required but that's what field tests are for!"

Professor Bean is handing you the portable mon scanner! You had better take it!

You take it and put it in your pocket right away!

"Is there anything else I can do for you and your friend?"

What? Your stomach is rumbling again?

"Oh! If she's going into the field, your friend will need some provisions. I happen to have a pack ready to go." Professor Bean points at a backpack lying on the floor.

"Tamounda!" Tamounda sticks his head in and pulls out a cracker! What? Professor Bean is giving you all this food? It seems like he really wants Starr to like him!

When you get outside Starr looks in the backpack. "No way!" She takes out the crackers and feeds some of them to her mons.

What? Starr put the rest of the crackers back without eating any? Starr looks at you and says "First rule of owning mons: Make sure they get fed, no matter what."

You and Tamounda start walking out of Ferropolis with Starr and her mons! You turn on the portable mon scanner and wave it around.

"Ram-ram!" Ramster is pointing at the mountain up ahead!

What? You just realized it's not a mountain?

You keep waving the portable mon scanner around but all it finds are the mons you already know!

"We should camp here. When it gets light we can try out that portable mon scanner again." Starr looks around and starts putting some rocks in a pile! It seems like she knows how to make a campfire just like Joe!

After all the other mons go to sleep Starr looks at you with a strange expression on her face!

"Have you ever heard about these ruins, kid?"

You're shaking your head!

"They say that a long time ago, humans used mons to fight a huge war against aliens from another world and that's what destroyed all these gigantic buildings."

You don't know any kinds of mons that could destroy something like that!

"But they also say..."

What? Starr is leaning in toward the campfire with a strange expression on her face? It's making her look scary!

"They say some of the mons that were used in that war are still alive, and if you get lost in the ruins, they'll sneak up on you and..."

Suddenly something rustles in the bushes!

You and Starr can't help screaming!

What? You recognize that sound?

A Frigeon flies out of the bushes! As it flies past it keeps saying "Frigooo. Frigooo. Frigooo. Frigooo. Frigooo..."

What? You've never heard a Frigeon that sounds like that before? It really doesn't sound like a normal Frigeon!

What? You just noticed that this Frigeon's eyes are glowing white?

You've never seen a Frigeon with glowing white eyes before either!

The strange Frigeon flies in a circle above the campfire!

"Huh?" Starr just noticed the Frigeon's eyes are glowing! "Hey, look! Grab it!"

Chompex wakes up and says "Chompex!" and jumps in the air and tries to bite the Frigeon but it flies out of his mouth before he can bite it!

The Frigeon flies around the campfire in a circle again and then starts flying away toward the ruins!

Starr jumps up and tries to grab it but it's too high in the air!

What? You're taking out the portable mon scanner? Are you really going to follow the strange Frigeon into the forest even though it's dark?

You run around the campfire and follow the Frigeon into the forest!

"Hey, wait!" Starr can't believe it! "Hey, kid, come back! It's too dark to..." Starr looks at the sleeping mons and says "Wake up, you guys! We can't let her get lost!"

You keep chasing Frigeon with the portable mon scanner! What? You just noticed that you can't hear Starr shouting at you anymore?

You keep following Frigeon!

"Tamounda!"

What? Tamounda is here? You look behind you and see Tamounda caught between two tree trunks! He's kicking his legs but he can't get loose! When he sees you looking at him, Tamounda stops kicking his legs and looks up at you. "Tamounda!"

You grab Tamounda and pull him loose! When you pull him out he says "Tamounda!"

What? You're not sure where the Frigeon went? You look at the portable mon scanner again. It seems like the Frigeon is ahead of you down the hill!

What? You don't know if you want to keep walking through the dark forest because it's scary?

You look at Tamounda!

Tamounda looks up at you and says "Tamounda!"

You and Tamounda keep walking through the dark forest even though it's scary! The glow from the portable mon scanner is getting brighter! The Frigeon must be right in front of you!

Suddenly, you hear a branch snap!

Tamounda says "Tamounda!"

You can hear hooves running closer! What? There's something coming out of the darkness?

A Leafhorn is charging up the hill toward you! "Leeee-forn. Leeee-forn. Leeee-forn."

Tamounda says "Tamounda!" and hides behind you!

The Leafhorn stops in front of you! "Leeee-forn. Leeee-forn. Leeee-forn."

What? You just noticed this Leafhorn's eyes are glowing just like the strange Frigeon's eyes?

"Leeee-forn. Leeee-forn. Leeee-forn." He really doesn't sound like a normal Leafhorn either!

The Leafhorn swings his head and takes a step closer to you! "Leeee-forn. Leeee-forn. Leeee-forn." It seems like he doesn't want you to go any further!

"Leeee-forn. Leeee-forn. Leeee-forn. Leeee-forn..."

You look at Tamounda!

"Tamounda! Challenge Leafhorn!"

Tamounda looks at Leafhorn and then looks up at you and says "Tamounda!" and trots toward Leafhorn!

What? Tamounda is actually going to challenge Leafhorn? It's probably because Leafhorns aren't very fierce!

It doesn't seem to have any effect!

Leafhorn attacks with Stomp!

It hurts Tamounda!


What? Leafhorn just stomped on Tamounda's head? You've never seen a Leafhorn use its Stomp attack before it uses its Leaf attack!

Tamounda shakes his head!

You look at Tamounda!

Tamounda says "Tamounda!" and swings his tail at Leafhorn!

Leafhorn gets knocked backward!

What? You're going to sneak past Leafhorn while he's fighting Tamounda?

You tip-toe past Leafhorn! It seems like Tamounda is still brave enough to keep fighting Leafhorn!

You keep tip-toeing away down the hill! You can still hear the other mons fighting! When you get a little further away you take the portable mon scanner out of your pocket and wave it around!

The portable mon scanner starts glowing again! It seems like you might be able to follow that strange Frigeon after all!

"Tamounda!"

It seems like Tamounda already won the fight against Leafhorn!

You look back and see Tamounda trotting down the hill after you! When he gets to the bottom of the hill he looks up at you and says "Ta...mounda?"

[SFX: single string pluck]

What? Tamounda has a strange expression on his face?

Tamounda's tail starts to thump!

What? You don't like the way Tamounda is thumping his tail at you?

The strange girl can't believe it! "Impossible. No mon can block my Aurora Pulse for long." The strange girl's eyes glow even more brightly and more green lightning strikes Ramster!

What? You just noticed Ramster's horn's are starting to shake?

Ramster leaps at the strange girl and smashes into her with his horns! They both go flying up in the the sky! They're flying so fast that they're making the air streak with light!

What? You just realized that they're still going up? You can still see the streak of light!

What? You can't see the streak of light anymore? You look around the sky!

You see a streak of light coming back down toward the ground! Everyone starts running toward it!

Suddenly you see a flash through the trees but you don't hear anything! It looks like Ramster and the strange girl just landed! You keep running forward!

[SFX: loud explosion]

Everyone is knocked backward through the air by the shock wave!

"Tamounda!"

"Chompex!"

After everyone recovers you climb over the broken trees and see a hole in the ground!

You climb up to the edge of the hole and look down!

"Ramster?"

For a moment you don't hear anything but then you hear "Ram-ram!" It sounds like Ramster is down there!

You climb down into the hole!

When you get to the bottom you look around and see Ramster lying on the ground! It seems like you're in some kind of hallway!

"Ramster!"

What? You just realized that you don't see the strange girl anywhere? You start to look around when you suddenly hear something from above you!

"Tamounda!" What? All the other mons are looking down from above?

Ramster points over your shoulder and says "Ram-ram!"

You turn around and see a Rabbadrab, and a mon that looks like a pair of orange and white raccoons!

The Rabbadrab looks at you and says "Rabbadrab!"

The Racclones look at each other nod and then look at you and both say "Racclone!" at the same time!

What? You think these are probably the Rabbadrab and the Racclone that were missing? You're probably right!

What? You just noticed a glowing light retreating away down the hallway into the darkness?

The Racclones nod at each other and say "Racclone!" and then start trying to push Rabbadrab up the side!

Clambreak swoops down and clamps around Rabbadrab's scruff! It's trying to pull Rabbadrab up while the Racclones push from underneath!

The Racclones look at you and both say "Racclone!" They can't hold up the Rabbadrab anymore!

What? You're already running down the hallway?

The Racclones look at each other and say "Racclone!"

[SFX: thump]

You keep feeling your way down the dark hall. Suddenly you see a glowing crystal in a big dark room! The strange girl is sitting in a big chair! It seems like her eyes aren't glowing as brightly! Now that you're closer, you can see that she really isn't a human girl! It looks like she has a pair of horns on her head!

What? You think she might be a human-type mon?

She looks at you and says "You shouldn't have followed me here. Those other mons caught me by surprise. But even in my current state, an Auroara is more than a match for a mon like you."

What? Does this mean she's a human-type mon called an Auroara?

Auroara starts to sit up but then she cries out in pain and sits back down!

What? The glowing crystal just cracked again? Do you think it has something to do with Auroara?

You look at Auroara!

"Your crystal?"

"It's just an energy source. I can get energy elsewhere. You had better not come any closer. Or you'll... you'll find out how much energy I need."

It seems like Auroara is really in pain! You're not sure what to do!

Auroara looks at you and asks "Who was that human woman?"

What? Auroara is asking about Starr? You can't help taking a step backward!

"Don't hurt Starr!"

"I'm not going to hurt her. I was created to defend humans. Just like you were created to..."

What? You don't really know what Auroara is talking about?

It seems like Auroara can see that you're confused! "Don't you know anything? Mons were created to accumulate this world's life energy. Like plants accumulating sunlight."

What? Auroara is saying that mons were created to gain energy? Even though you already knew mons gained energy from fighting other mons, you don't really know what she's talking about!

Auroara glances at the glowing crystal behind her. "Haven't you ever seen an accretion slab before?" It seems like she's talking about the glowing crystal!

What? Auroara is saying the crystal is somehow made from the energy of mons?

What a crazy series of events the past week has been for Mashi. Talk about in for a penny, in for a pound.

It's possible to reach a middle ground here. We have Plumtree's schemes to stop, friends to save, and Traders to scare off. If we can talk Auroara into coming along but she can't stand, we can have her lean on Mashi's shoulder and get her a wheelchair back in Ferropolis. From there, we should try to help her be less dependent on Mon energy to function. Getting around on two feet rather than levitating would be a good start.

Auroara looks up at you and asks "Who?" You had better tell her more!

"I doubt he could help. If you've never seen an accretion slab, this Professor Bean probably doesn't know anything about energy accumulation." You're not sure what Auroara is talking about, but at least she's talking to you! "And I don't even have enough energy to leave this room." Auroara's head sinks down again. It seems like she's pretty upset!

You take a step closer and crouch down so you can see her face.

"I can help!"

It seems like what you said worked! Even though you can't see Auroara's eyes, you can see that she's smiling! "Yes, little mon, I think you can help me." Auroara tilts her head up and looks at you!

What? Now that you can see Auroara's eyes, you don't think she's very happy?

What? You think she still looks pretty hungry?

Suddenly Auroara leaps at you and tackles you before you can do anything! You fall backward with her on top of you! Auroara grabs your arms and pins you down! You didn't realize she was so strong! You try to kick your legs and escape but you can't move, no matter how hard you try!

Auroara leans in a little closer! You try to look away but you can't move your head because you're so scared!

"You only have a little energy. But I can't be picky right now." Auroara opens her mouth and leans down toward you!

You can't help closing your eyes and crying because you're so scared!

"Tamounda!"

What? Tamounda is here?

"Ram-ram!"

You and Auroara look across the room and see Tamounda and Ramster in the doorway! Auroara glares at Tamounda and Ramster and says "I'll deal with you in a moment."

"Waddabeah!"

"Chompex!"

[SFX: double shell clap]

It looks like Starr's mons are here too!

"Rabbadrab!"

"Leeee-forn!"

"Frigooo!"

"Racclone!"

What? All the other mons are here too? They all look pretty upset!

Auroara looks at the other mons and says "Get away, all of you! Don't you understand? I need her energy!"

"Ram-ram!" Ramster takes a step forward!

"Tamounda!" Tamounda takes a step forward!

"Chompex!"

"Racclone!"

All the other mons take a step forward!

Auroara looks at the other mons and then looks down at you and asks "What did you say that professor's name is?"

It seems like Auroara wants to meet Professor Bean!

You and all the other mons climb up out of the hole! After you climb out you hear the sound of struggling! You look back into the hole!

What? Auroara is trying to climb out instead of flying out? It seems like she can't fly right now! You reach your hands down to help Auroara out but she just glares at you and keeps trying to climb out on her own! "I don't need your help!"

After Auroara climbs out, you and all the other mons walk back to where you left Starr at the bottom of the hill. She hasn't moved at all! You crouch down next to Starr and turn her over. It seems like Starr is still sleeping!

When you look up at Auroara she says "That human will remain asleep." Auroara glances up at you. "For now."

"Waddabeah!" Waterbear looks at Chompex and points at Starr! He walks up to her feet and tries to lift them up! "Waddabeah!"

Chompex says "Chompex!" and sticks his head under Starr's neck and tries to lift it up! "Chompex!"

Clambreak flies around and looks at them but it can't do anything to help! It seems like they can't quite lift Starr!

"Tamounda!" What? is helping?

Tamounda squeezes under Starr's back and lifts her up!

"Chompex!"

"Waddabeah!"

Waterbear and Chompex look at Tamounda and smile and then they all start carrying Starr back up the hill!

Auroara looks at them and then looks at you. "Where are we going?"

What? You just realized Auroara doesn't know very much about human cities?

"Ferropolis!"

You and all the other mons keep walking back the way you came! You walk for the rest of the night and get back to Ferropolis just as the sun is rising! It seems like everything is working out!

What? You just remembered that Auroara needs a hat to fool humans into thinking she's a human girl?

You're nodding your head!

Auroara crosses her arms and glares at you. "Fine. Give me your hat, mon."

What? Auroara wants you to give her your baseball cap? You don't think it will even fit her! You grab your baseball cap with both hands!

What? Auroara has a strange expression on her face? It seems like she was teasing you! She looks at you and says "Go and get me a hat."

What? You think Auroara seems impatient? You had better get moving before she decides to walk into Ferropolis without a hat! You pick up Ramster and put him on your shoulder and then look at Tamounda.

You start to walk down the hill to Ferropolis.

You turn around and see one of the human mon trainers you and Starr saw in the Ferropolis Arena yesterday!

"You!" The human man runs across the road toward you! "I knew you were mon thieves!"

Rabbadrab jumps between you and Starr and the human man! What? Rabbadrab is defending you? Rabbadrab looks up at the human and says "Rabbadrab!"

The human man can't believe it! "Rabbadrab... you mean these two didn't steal you?"

Rabbadrab nuzzles your chin! You have to reach up to grab your hat so it doesn't get knocked off! Rabbadrab looks at you and says "Rabbadrab!"

Starr doesn't know what to think! She looks at you and asks "Where did all these mons come from?"

"My Frigeon!"

What? More humans from the Ferropolis Arena are running across the street? It seems like you're attracting a crowd! Frigeon flies up off the sidewalk and lands on the other human man's arm and says "Frigooo!"

The other human man can't believe it! "Frigeon!" He looks at you and Starr and says "Thank you for finding my Frigeon!"

"Who cares about some flying-type mon?" Another human shoves her way through the crowd and looks at Leafhorn! "My precious little Leafhorn!"

Leafhorn looks up at the human woman and says "Leee-forn!" It seems like Leafhorn is happy to see her!

The humans are looking at you! You can't help your cheeks from turning red! The human man with the Frigeon on his shoulder says "Sorry about the other day. You two are welcome in the Ferropolis Arena any time." What? The other humans are nodding? It seems like they don't think you and Starr stole their mons!

"Racclone!" What? You just realized that Racclone is still here?

"Hey, it's a Racclone!" Starr can't believe it! "You really are my lucky charm, kid!"

The Racclones look up at Starr and say "Racclone!" and then look at you!

What? You're not sure what to do about Racclone? Well, how did you find out Racclone was missing in the first place?

"Professor Bean!"

You didn't mean to say that out loud! You look down at Racclone.

The Racclones look up at you and say "Racclone!"

You and Starr and the other mons walk to Professor Bean's laboratory. When you get closer, you see Professor Bean outside with a little human child. When Professor Bean sees Starr he can't believe it! "Oh! It's Mayor! The you of... I mean... this is Tinville... I mean..."

What? You just realized that the little human child is actually an old human man?

The old human man can't believe it! "Racclone!"

The Racclones both look at the old human man and say "Racclone!"

The old human man is looking at you and Starr! "I don't know how you did it, but thank you for finding my Racclone!" The old human man reaches into his pocket and hands you each a sack. "This isn't much, but please accept this."

It feels like the sack is full of coins!

Starr looks in her sack and says "15 coins? Thanks, your mayorness!"

It seems like you might be able to buy a hat for Auroara!

What? You just remembered you have Professor Bean's portable mon scanner in your jacket pocket? You take it out and give it to Professor Bean.

"Amazing!" Professor Bean taps the buttons on the portable mon scanner and says "It looks like you were able to use it successfully over a long distance. I'll keep working on fine-tuning it." Professor Bean looks up at Starr and says "I'd be happy to demonstrate you... I mean..."

"Yeah, you do that." Starr looks at you and says "Come on, the Professor probably has a lot to think about."

When you and Starr walk away from Professor Bean's lab, Starr asks "Hey, are you gonna tell me what happened last night, or what?"

You're not sure what to say! You look at the other mons.

"Chompex!" What? Chompex is trying to get Starr's attention?

"That's a new one. Well, this is the widest hat I have in stock." The human woman holds up a pink hat with a bow on it. "What do you think?"

You look at the human woman!

The human woman looks at the hat. It seems like she's thinking about something! "Since it's not very fashionable anymore, I'll sell it to you for 5 coins."

You take out your sack of coins and give the human woman 5 coins. The human woman gives you the hat!

"We'll see how long that lasts." Auroara tries to stand up but she's too weak!

"Tamounda!" Tamounda tries to help Auroara up but she pushes him away!

"I can do it myself, mon." It seems like Auroara really is determined to stand up without help but she can't do it!

What? You're going to help Auroara stand up even though she tried to take your energy?

You crouch down and grab Auroara! She struggles a little but then she lets you help her stand up!

Tamounda trots around the two of you in a circle and says "Tamounda!"

"Ram-ram!" Ramster is pointing at Ferropolis!

You help Auroara all the way to Professor Bean's lab! A few humans look at you but no one says anything. It seems like the hat really does work!

When you get to Professor Bean's lab he sees you and says "Oh! You're back! Is your friend..." Professor Bean stops when he sees Auroara! "Here, sit down! What's the matter? Are you injured?"

Auroara looks at Professor Bean. "This is going to be difficult for you to understand." Auroara takes her hat off without hesitating at all!

Professor Bean can't believe it! "You're... you're a human-type mon!"

"I am no such thing!" It looks like Auroara is pretty upset! She looks at you and Ramster and Tamounda and says "I am an Auroara! I am nothing like... like..."

What? Is Auroara going to tell Professor Bean that you're really a mon?

"...Like those two creatures."

"Hmm..." Professor Bean waves his portable mon scanner at Auroara. "Any incongruities are likely cultural. From a purely scientific viewpoint, there is no functional difference between you and a mon." Professor Bean looks closely at his portable mon scanner and says "You have an unusual energy pattern, though. I've never seen a mon's energy pattern quite like this."

Auroara is glaring at Professor Bean! She looks pretty scary! "I. Am not. A mon."

Professor Bean can't help taking a step backward! "Your energy level is also extremely low. When's the last time you challenged another... I mean, challenged a mon?"

"What do you mean?" Auroara doesn't seem to know what Professor Bean is talking about! "I recover energy from accretion slabs."

Professor Bean tucks his portable mon scanner back in his pocket. "Well, mons get their energy by fighting and defeating other mons in single combat. We could start with a series of controlled matches..."

"I told you, I am not a mon!"

Let's try to deescalate this situation before the conversation becomes too abrasive, then keep it focused on how to literally get Auroara back on her feet again. The best thing we could do is find out more about Auroara's predicament and figure out where she could battle out of the public eye. Besides, she could use the time to recover and walk again before doing so. Mashi, Ramster who probably scared the shit out of her, or Tamounda could spar with her if necessary as well.

"Near where they found me." Auroara glances at you. It seems like Auroara doesn't know what to say!

You look at Professor Bean!

"Oh, the ruins." Professor Bean writes something on his notepad and then looks back up. "Um... the ruins? You don't mean you were one of the... but that was thousands of years ago! How could you possibly still be alive?"

"The accretion slab. It kept me asleep. I only woke up a few days ago." Auroara glances at you and says "I was... hungry."

Professor Bean keeps writing on his notepad. "Yes, you mentioned that. Your primary energy source. Did its depletion cause you to wake up?"

Auroara shakes her head and says "I don't know why I woke up. The accretion slab still had energy. Enough to sleep at least another thousand years."

"Hmm... Professor Ginger was recently in the area." Professor Bean looks up from his notepad at Auroara. "Perhaps she can shed some light on the matter."

I'm assuming this is referring to the explosive-type laboratory. If so, it's best to train here for a while longer. As helpful as it would be to get a wider variety of Mon for Auroara to fight, exposing her true identity in public would have dangerous consequences. We should try to find Mon other than those in the arena for her to fight. It'd be great if we can trust Starr, but we don't know if we can yet. If necessary, Mashi could spar with Auroara until we find more Mon to duel. Maybe Prof. Bean would know about happenings around Ferropolis.

When you find Starr she looks at you and says "Hey kid, I was just about to come find you. If we leave right now, we might be able to make it there by dark.... huh?" Starr glances at Auroara and then whispers "Hey, who's that girl?"

"Yeah, well, it seems your friend can hardly stand. Speaking of which..." Starr reaches into the backpack and pulls out the crackers! "Feeding time, you guys!"

"Oh, you should listen to this Cutémon, little Auroara. She's a regular chatterbox, you know." Diamond glances to the side and says "Trent! Stop skulking and come earn your pay."

What? You just noticed a glowing pair of red eyes in the woods? Suddenly Trent the bounty hunter walks out of the woods with a mon on his shoulder that looks like a white cat with glowing red eyes and an exposed brain!

It's Catscan!

Catscan stands up on Trent's shoulder and then leaps down onto the ground and glares up at Auroara and says "Catscannn..."

Diamond glances back at Trent and says "You see, Trent? This is why I always drive with the windows down. You never know when you're going to hear something interesting."

Catscan paces closer to Auroara and says "Catscannn..."

"Sssssssss..." What? Rattletrap is slithering around behind you? You can't help taking a step backward!
