This is a drawquest. The current player character's actions are determined on a majority vote. I tend to update one to three times a day, but, from time to time, I will choose to create a video update with music. These take significantly longer, and the exact length is variable. With a thunderous gallop, you charge forward, your hooves pounding on the linoleum with an earth-shaking rhythm. You spin leap towards the DAIRYBOT, your hooves smashing the fuck out of its PELVIC CORE. It short circuits; sparks fly out as the decommissioned robot crumples to the floor. The other two DAIRYBOTS are now aware of your existence, and one starts to engage with you in battle.

You enter your HORSE stance. The H.O.R.S.E. combat system menu opens. The DAIRYBOT stares you down with its soulless metallic eyes.

What will you do?

BATTLE REFRESHER
There are two main components of the H.O.R.S.E. combat system:

A) The green heart is your EQUINE STATUS. It dictates how much health you have. There are three stages: HEALTHY, DEVIATING, and CRITICAL, indicated by the colors green, yellow, and red, respectively. Specific actions might require your EQUINE STATUS to be at either of the three stages.

B) You have a total of FOUR (4) HORSE POINTS. For each DRAW move you make, a HORSE POINT is depleted. You can regain HORSE POINTS by grazing, which you can do either by FLEEING, using an ITEM that replenishes HORSE POINTSE, or by using a DRAW move to do so. Certain special actions might require you to use TWO (2) HORSE POINTS at once.

The moves you have are:

A) DRAW - To act in battle, you must use a DRAW move. You will then be guided to a turn of GO-HORSE. You will have three cards and will be prompted to choose one of three from a face down deck to match one in your deck. The higher the value of the card, the more successful your action will be. If you get so unlucky that the card you draw matches none of your cards, you fail the draw. Your odds depend on how complex or impossible the task is. You can improve your odds if you have an item to do so.

B) ITEM - If you have an ITEM, you can use it. It requires no HORSE POINTS to do so.

C) FLEE - You can leave a battle if you so choose, but your opponent might not let you. A game of HOOF, PAPER, WEEDWHACKER will then take place with your opponent. If you choose a winning move or draw, you can escape with varying success. If you lose, you will be sent back into battle and be unable to FLEE for a turn.

They'd seen you take down the previous DAIRYBOT and respond to your command with a silent confirmation. While the DAIRYBOT has its eyes trained on you, the PROTOTYPES sneak behind it, closing in on the DAIRYBOT from all angles. They unleash their wrath upon the DAIRYBOT, delivering bone-shattering blows that leave the metal beast reeling. While a bit taken aback, it doesn't seem like much damage was done to it. It remains in place, aiming its miniguns at you.

You quickly bound away from the two PROTOTYPES; who knows what damage you might accidentally inflict on them. You sneer at the DAIRYBOT, as you spout out several rather derisive insults. You point out, with a series of neighs and whinnies, that they're philosophically immoral constructions; their pure existence is nothing more of a mockery to the real cows of the world, our true CLOVEN-HOOVED BROTHERS. Nothing but simulacrums who hold onto nothing but their meager artificial existence.

While you seriously doubt that your words really got through to the robot, it is put into a state of confusion that, when combined with its already short circuiting state, cause an internal combustion within its systems. Its face plate explodes as the blood-reminiscent diesel spurts out of its wiry endoskeleton. It collapses on the ground, sputtering and gushing out fluid.

SHERRY looks up at you, and before you have an opportunity to say anything, she speaks up.

"Make sure to watch your back next time, horsey. I'm not always gonna be around to save your ass!" She giggles before looking down and gasping.

"Your leg! Oh no, why didn't you say anything sooner? You're bleeding! You need medical attention, pronto!" You decide... it might not be worth trying to say anything. There's more of a bustle now, with both soldier and PROTOTYPE alike resting after the short battle and medical attention being administered to the injured soldier and PROTOTYPE. A number of medical personnel walk into the hall: two nurses with a stretcher, a massive CLEANBOT, a lanky elderly man, and DOOFUS and NELLIE. NELLIE waves at you.

Your mind drifts towards thoughts of the inevitable fate of horses whose usefulness has expired due to leg injuries. You panic very briefly, not noticing that NELLIE has already made it to your side. She grabs a strange device with a suction cup and what seems to be some sort of a needle. She plants it on your wound, and in no time, the bullet in your leg is removed and the gash is mended. It also suctions up the excess blood.

Like almost nothing, the wound is gone.

"I think our best move is to get to that transport beam way up on top of the ship. I can try and reverse the flow of the beam and we can get inside the ship," she says. NELLIE nods.

"That sounds like a good idea!"

"Yeah, well," SHERRY interjects. "It does run the risk of completely vaporizing us if I don't get it right." NELLIE's face turns white as a sheet.

"That... sounds less good..." You are inclined to agree. As you absentmindedly look around, you notice the transport ship attached to the hull. This gives you an idea. SHERRY is the first to notice.

"What is it, horsey?" You point at the transport ship, and through a proud neigh, you tell the group that they can try to navigate the ship into the MU-F-O. Your brief moment of genius is interrupted, however.

"That's a ridiculous idea." You look past the group to see the lanky man from earlier walk up to you. Everyone turns to look at him too. "You want to fly that ship into the main mothership? No wonder horses have smaller brains," he scoffs.

"Terry! Be nice!" NELLIE frowns and turns to you. "That's just how he is, he's grumpy like that."

"I actually didn't think it was that bad of an idea, Terr. Why is it ridiculous?" SHERRY says.

"Well, for one, none of you have ever driven a transport ship. All our pilots are on the bridge, trying not to crash this colony ship. Ignoring that, even if you managed to work the controls and pry off the hull, what's to stop the mothership from shooting you down? The transport ships definitely were never meant to leave the ship they're attacking mid-battle. I could go on."

"I don't know if I agree with that, Terr. Isn't this more of a breaching pod?" She points to the long extending hooks that are anchoring the ship to the hull. TERRY shakes his head.

"No. That is a transport ship, modified to attach to a hull. You might remember finding a couple dozen of them in the Archives the last time we were there." SHERRY'S face falls at the mention of the ARCHIVES, but she nods. "In any case, attempting to drive this is foolish. Reverse engineering the beam isn't a great idea either. Our turrets up top are just barely preventing the damn maulers from tearing apart the hull, making our way up to a programmable distance would be suicide." SHERRY groans.

This is a good idea. You can hear the transport ship creaking already. The doors of the ship have been open for quite some time, getting busted when the ship collided with what you assume to be the MU-F-O. It is completely pitch dark in the room that you enter... or is it a hall? You can't see much of anything aside from what you are immediately able to feel and the blank wall and floors that are illuminated by the ship. There seems to be some strange substance on the floor, though.

You move forward, the only thing audible being your hooves on the metal floor and distant gunfire and blasts. You sorta wish you could see the cool battle outside. You cope by telling yourself it probably wouldn't look very cool in a 200x200 canvas anyways. Regardless, you can't see much, so you move slowly.

Suddenly, you stop. You can hear two distinct noises now: a DISTANT MECHANICAL THUMPING from the right, and the HUMMING OF ELECTRICITY on your left. You still can't see anything. Which sound do you follow?

You suppose you don't really have any other choice than to investigate. There are only two bodies in the room, with only one really accessible to you. The other is pretty well guarded by that really scary wall of electricity and it looks pretty cooked. You don't quite feel like meeting the same fate.

You take a look at the corpse on the ground, half dried blood bordering the edges of his body. He looks... awful. It almost looks like something's sucked the life out of him. Either that or he just happens to look extremely mangy and malnourished. There's also a bunch of that black gunk from earlier on him.

You root around in his pockets and find nothing except some pocket lint and a STANFARMS TECHNICIAN LEVEL IDENTIFICATION CARD. After wiping off the blood and gunk on it, you put the card in your mouth, as you don't have any INVENTORY SPACE.

What now?

Alright, super sorry for the much longer break than necessary, I had a lot of furniture to build!

I hoped I'd have a much more finished product by now but I suppose I'll reveal what most of you probably already know by now: Horsequest has a wiki! It's directly on my site if you scroll down to Horsequest and tap on wiki. A bunch of pages aren't finished, and I'm definitely going to have to add a couple more, but for now, enjoy whatever facts I've written already!

Currently, the only available access point for a keycard would be in the terminal inside the contraption. Which is also inside the electricity field. There's also no keycard scanner or slot near the door. You doubt there's anything else of use in the room.

The light from the electric arcs don't illuminate the corner very well, but you can see what seems to be a large pipe. You don't hear water flowing, so you imagine that power might flow through here instead. You take a look to the hole you entered this room from. Man... you really don't like the dark. As you leave the room, you think about how though you thought the flashing blue light was really annoying, you would rather be able to see than to blindly walk around in darkness.
...

After about five minutes of walking aimlessly, you begin to realize that not only can you no longer hear any DISTANT MECHANICAL THUMPING, you have no idea where you are or where you came from. You are able to pick up three new sounds though: a QUIET SIZZLE from a ways behind you, ARYHTHMIC SHUFFLING to your left, and THE CRACKLE OF FLAMES to your right.

Yep, no doubt about it. This is another one of those MODIFIED TRANSPORT SHIPS, like the one you got in here on. Looks like the machine on the right is meant to attach the hooks into the ships thrusters, but it doesn't seem to be operational currently. A logo of a happy cow seems to be painted onto the bottom of the ship. What a cute little guy.

It appears to be a BUST OF ACADEMY AWARD WINNING ACTOR EMMA STONE. You stand in awe of its odd beauty.

Suddenly, you hear a clattering noise. You look to your right, and you see a door. More of that black stuff trails from it.

Looks to be an older model than the one on the ship: the one where you place the card at the top and it scans the whole thing, dropping it into a tray at the bottom.

"Horseman... take..." The voice fades out as quickly as it faded in. You look down to see a wiggling mass of black goop carry a STANFARMS LEAD TECHNICIAN LEVEL IDENTIFICATION CARD before becoming stiff and lifeless. You pick up the card, putting it in your mouth, since you STILL do not have any INVENTORY SPACE.

The screen opens a command prompt to what appears to be an ASCII map of the surrounding area. It's not really clear what things are labeled, but one of the rooms surely go to the generator.
