Long ago, on a planet called Earth, the greatest martial artist of his time made the ultimate sacrifice to seal away the most fearsome tyrant the world had ever seen. Master Mutaito gave his life to put an end to the threat that the Demon King Piccolo posed to the world. Our story, however, begins before even that...

>What is this?
This is a story following the adventures of a youth on Earth from pre-dragonball times, where we assume the role of a character inserted into Age 440 - when even characters like Roshi and Shen were foolish youths. It is currently Age 449.

>How does this work?
Just roll the dice I call for, simple as. Current pool is 4d50 in each field, but it could be subject to change later in the thread depending on how things go.

>Who are we playing?
Wyald Honta, a 19-year-old hybrid of Human and Tiger-beastman who set out to explore the world in order to sate the call of his blood. Normally with his hybrid nature, he would age quicker than humans yet slower than other beastmen, but he has managed to sidestep this issue thanks to ingesting Paradise Herbs. He has a strong moral compass, a polite and friendly demeanour, but an unforgiving side when it comes to those who commit evil. He's slowly evolving his own fighting style with every master he trains under, and he almost always journeys with his three friends: Azalea, Barbar, and Harum.

>Last time on Dragon Ball: Legacy
As generous as ever, Honta ended up visiting with his family and friends both to give them each their own supply of Paradise Herbs and to catch up with them. His reunion with his mother and father was a nostalgic one, and the friends he's made on his worldwide adventures all showed a deep appreciation - especially the wizard Ahl De'Mann, who revealed that the plant has great untapped potential when it comes to alchemy and magic. The remainder of the supply was sold to the proprietor of Demons Will Weep, who traded five of his rare and powerful artifacts in exchange for the legendary herbs - though what he and the spirit possessing him plans to do with them is anyone's guess. As we rejoin our hero, he is now on his way to return to Kami, who he elected to train under given Kami's limited remaining time amongst the living...

You looked over your choices quite carefully, noting the qualities and enchantments of each item laid before you from the hunter's personal collection. For the few you were unsure of, he explained their general purpose in a brief and gruff manner, clearly a little less willing to part with his artifacts than Nya seems to be. All of them were tempting in their own right, which only served to make the decision more difficult, but in the end you opted to be as practical as possible.

The sword would be invaluable in either your own or Barbar's hands, capable of protecting from just as much as harming the trickier foes you may one day face. The icon is something you pray you'll never need, but ultimately an excellent piece of insurance in case you were to get struck by an unexpectedly lethal blow. The trap seemed like a good idea given how successful a similarly enchanted box was at trapping the living curse you encountered a few years ago, so you figure it'll be good to have one on hand just in case. The ring happened to have particularly good synergy with the trap, as it would enable you to keep track of any trickier entities that may be able to phase through matter or turn invisible to the naked eye - granted, you still had your ki senses in the case of living creatures that could do that, but undead opponents like Baba's fighters would be much trickier to track otherwise. Lastly, you chose the Grimoire, always eager for the chance to improve your skills...although you're a bit unsure on if you'd be able to stomach its lecherous requests. You might just hand the tome off to Yang to help her own studies, but you're not decided on it yet.

Your choices made, you set the bag of what remains of your paradise herbs before the hunter, and he bundles your chosen artifacts together in a sack that he elects to tie shut with a seal that suppresses the magical signatures of the items within. With a grin, you accept the package while he just grumbles in response.

"Pleasure doing business with you, sir!" You say, while he puts the bag of herbs away somewhere underneath his desk.

"Yeah, yeah. Just make sure you take good care of that sword for me, alright? Me and her have been through thick n' thin together." He replies, bringing up his cigar to take a long puff of it and blowing out a few smoke rings after. "At least you're taking that damn pervert off my hands, though. He's one sick puppy, I'll tell you." He continues, causing you to sweat a little. You're starting to question your final choice a little, now...

"I'm sure it'll be fine, Honta's so pure-minded that he could use someone to pull him out of his shell anyways. I bet he'd blush if you mentioned holding hands, or kissing!" Yang says, barking out a laugh at your expense afterwards as you most certainly do not feel a bit of heat rising to your face. Damn it! "See!" She follows up, the hunter joining in with a chuckle of his own.

"Innocent type, huh? Good luck out there, kid. You're gonna need it." He says with a smirk around his cigar, which he then puffs on a few more times. "And where luck don't cut it, well, you know where I am. My services are always available for the right price." He continues, causing Yang to roll her eyes.

"No offense, guy, but aren't you a little old to be in your line of work?" Yang asks, poking fun at his age.

"Dude." He responds, simply enough. "Guy was my father. My name's Dude." He explains, flicking some ash onto the ratty carpet below. "And yeah, I'm gettin' up there. But I've got a lot of debts to pay off before I can retire, so...y'know." He says with a shrug. "What can you do?"

"Damn, that's rough. Well, good luck with that!" Yang says, pulling you away and out of the door.

"Oh, guess it's time now! Bye, Dude!" You wave goodbye over your shoulder to be polite, before meeting the sunny outdoors of the concrete jungle that is Central City. Always stings a bit to have your eyes adjust so rapidly from dim indoor lighting to bright outdoor lights, so you have to rub your eyes a little, dang it. "Hey, thanks for helping me negotiate in there, Yang! I don't think I would have gotten nearly as good of a deal without you." You opt to thank her now that you're out of there.

"Think nothing of it, I'm always willing to help out my junior!" She says, puffing up with pride at the praise. "That being said, do you have a plan for that junk? You could probably reverse engineer the enchantments if you're good enough, but that always runs the risk of destroying the object." She asks you, curious about your selection.

It's a pretty good question, but an easy enough one to answer.

>Yes, you planned to study the enchantments on...(What items?)
>No, you didn't plan on studying any of them.

And...

>You were going to give one of the items to someone else. (Which item, to who?)

Remember, the items that won were The Sword, The Icon, The Trap, The Ring, and The Grimoire! On a different note, welcome back to another episode, it's been a while and it's great to see y'all again!
>>

Damn it, I already forgot something. Second pool should have TWO options.
>You were going to give one of the items to someone else. (Which item, to who?)
>You'd just keep all of them on yourself, for now, to play it safe.
>>

>Studying the Ring could be cool...
I mean, it could give us MAGIC EYES, if we can internalize the effects in some fashion, right?

>Give the sword to Barbar

Alrighty, it looks like we have a decision! We'll be studying the enchantment on the one ring, giving a perverted haunted book to a cocky young sorceress, and giving a pretty cool sword to Barbar.

This next update will finally have us going to Kami and doing our tutelage under him, so let's go ahead and roll that. I need FOUR of you to each roll 2d50. The first d50 will be for the the actual training portion of things, while the second d50 will be for your efforts at heart purification. Like always with this kind of roll, there's no crits or critfails, it just determines how long it'll take to make progress...although in this case you very much can take too long to finish, given his time limit.

Oh yeah, I guess I should roll for Barbar's continued progress too, huh?

An excellent result as far as purity goes, but it seems that Honta is a bit slower at refining the techniques he already has compared to picking up new ones
Now let's see Piccolo's progress as far as Purity goes. He's rolling bigger dice, but he also has a much higher DC to finish in time considering all of his issues...
>>

Don't worry, Barbar and Piccolo still have another shot at it! I don't want to go TOO far in one jump, after all. Of course, their DCs may be a bit higher the next time, but you may be able to help or not depending on your upcoming choices.
>>
"I definitely want to study the enchantment on the ring, at the very least!" You say, fishing out and holding up the golden band with elegant and flowing runes etched across its surface. "The spell behind it could be pretty handy to have. And I might be able to enchant something else with it, maybe even my eyes!" You continue, mind racing with ideas.

"I think glasses might be a smarter choice, what if you wanted to turn the effect off? That, and I don't think it'd be very smart to make yourself a nonstop beacon to every ghost out there." Yang points out, causing you to slap your forehead.

"Oh right, duh! Well, maybe I could tweak the spell a bit once I learn it. Separate it into some kind of baiting spell and a sight spell, perhaps...I'll have to see how it works before I know how to improve it, though." You reply, now trying to refine the ideas a bit in your head. "But that's for later! For now, I'd actually like to give you this, for helping me out with negotiating a better deal." You say, tucking the ring back away and instead pulling the Grimoire out of the warded sack. Yang's eyebrows shoot up, having not expected another gift so soon it seems.

"Woah, really? Heh, well, I guess I could accept this humble payment for my services!" She exclaims with a glint of greed in her eyes. She reaches out and takes the hefty tome from you, immediately trying to open it...only to struggle at the task in vain, some unseen force stopping her from prying its pages apart.

"Ow, ow, stop that!" An voice calls out, sounding like the echo of an old man's voice. "Your meaty hands are far too rough, you gorilla!" The face on the tome animates as it insults Yang. The eyes on it finally open up, looking around at its surroundings before settling on Yang, of which it scans up and down her body slowly.

"Wh- gorilla?! I have half a mind to burn some of your pages for that, asshat!" Yang threatens with a scowl, shaking the book a little.

"No, no, I was clearly mistaken! You're clearly much easier on the eyes than a gorilla would be." The Grimoire comments.

"Hey, one of my best friends is a gorilla!" You interject with your objection. "And I'm sure he's plenty attractive to other gorillas!" You continue with a little less certainty. You honestly have no idea if that's true or not.

"Well, I'm certainly no gorilla, now am I?" The book points out to you. You raise a finger to object again, but can't think of an adequate response. He's got a point, even if you don't like it...

"Blah blah, enough talking. Just open up for me and let me peep those spells inside of you, okay?" Yang interrupts the tangent, once more trying to pry the book open.
>>
"Eeuyahh! I already said stop! You can't open me like that!" The book shouts at her, evidently in pain from her efforts. "I have to open me! And I certainly won't open for you if you hurt me. In fact, my feelings are quite hurt, too! I think I deserve an apology." It says. You immediately can tell where this is going, thanks to what Dude told you about the book.

"Alright, alright. I'm sorry I tried to open you so forcefully. Now will you pretty please with a cherry on top open for me?" Yang apologizes, to which the book rolls its eyes.

"Oh please, words mean nothing, little witch. In my time, we apologized with our actions. If you really want me to forgive you and open up, you'll kiss it better for me. Or maybe show me something nice, to take my mind off of the pain!" The Grimoire replies, its 'mouth' twisting into a completely lecherous grin afterwards. Yang's face brightens up to a nice glowing red with indignation.

"Y-You can't be serious!" She denies, before turning to look at you. "He actually sold us a perverted book! I thought it was just exaggeration at most!" She says, to which you chuckle nervously and shrug.

"Well, I'm sure you'll figure something out." You say, rubbing the back of your head. You notice one of Yang's hands drifting down to grasp the edge of her skirt while she gets increasingly red, so you interject with an idea to stop her from embarrassing herself unnecessarily. "M-Maybe buy him a magazine?" You suggest, which gets her to pause. She releases her skirt without having lifted it, an act which you're thankful enough for as you don't need even more unnecessary thoughts polluting your mind. Not that a few don't creep in there regardless. Damn it!

"Oh, that's a great idea! Alright, you old pervert, we're going shopping. I'll even let you pick 'em out." She says, the flush rapidly fading from her face as she realizes she doesn't necessarily have to satisfy the books requirements HERSELF.

"Well, it's not as nice as the real deal, but I suppose I can accept that proposal...for now, at least." The book accepts, if a bit ominously. You suspect the accursed item is only going to step up his requests after a certain point, but that's for the Yang of the future to deal with. You silently wish Future Yang good luck.

"Well, I'll leave you two to it for now! It's time for me to head back to Kami now. Once again, thanks for everything, Yang!" You decide to cut in, if only to announce your departure. You bow your upper body slightly to her, a gesture to which she returns a wave to.

"Alright, have fun up there! Don't do anything I wouldn't do...and tell Kami that Baba is going to make him eat his own shoes if he keeps offloading paperwork to her." She replies with a laugh, even though she sounded somewhat serious about the last remark. Surely Baba wouldn't...
>>
You wave back at her with a hearty chuckle of your own, before you finally part ways with her. It only takes you a second to find Popo's energy to see where he's gone, which seems to be a nearby hotdog vendor. He glances over his shoulder at your approach, in the middle of eating one particular hotdog that looks like it was thrown through a garden due to how many assorted vegetables adorned it - tomatoes, pickles, onions, relish, peppers, and a few other things you can't quite name with a quick glance. He shoves the entire rest of it into his mouth, chews thrice, and swallows it like it was nothing.

"Hello again, young Honta. I was just partaking in some of the wonderful cuisine here. Would you care for one of these 'hot dogs'?" Mr. Popo offers, gesturing to the cart.

Needless to say, you can't really resist the offer. Once you've teleported back to Kami's lookout, it's with an equally loaded up and fat dog of your own in hand. It feels kind of sinful to eat something like this, especially here, but you'll accept a little indulgence here and there if it means getting to enjoy something this delicious. Maybe you'll have to experiment with ways to load up hotdogs in the future...

After some consideration on what to do with the sword while you eat, you come to the conclusion that you'll actually save the sword as a gift for Barbar's birthday. It should come up in a few months, so you think it'd make a fantastic present - it'll definitely lift his spirits, knowing how much the man loves swords in general. In fact, the only thing he's ever really talked about at length with you has been swords - he's kind of nerdy about them, even.

When you've finally finished eating, you enter Kami's chambers, prepared to undergo Kami's no-doubt unique form of training in order to forge yourself into the best you that you can be. Kami rests upon his throne, eyes closed in concentration as he performs his apparent duty of keeping watch over the countless buzzing activities of Earth's inhabitants; such a thing does not seem to impair his ability to sense you or hold a conversation, however, as he addresses you directly.

"I take it you are prepared at last?" He questions, to which you nod...before realizing that he might not have seen the nod due to his eyes being closed.

"Yes sir! I did everything I needed to do, so now I can focus on your training. So, what's first, if I may ask?" You reply, your question getting a smirk from the stoic guardian.

"Nothing too difficult. Your foundations are quite good, your breadth of knowledge and techniques impressive in their own rights, but my goal here is to refine that which you already have. Both your heart and mind will be purged of flaws by the time I am finished with you, hopefully." He explains, raising a hand to point a finger directly towards your chest for emphasis.
>>
"Oh! I get it...so the way forward is to develop my techniques even further, huh? That makes a lot of sense, my repertoire is pretty big as it is. Alright, I'm pumped! Let's do it!" You say with a grin, starting to get ready with some stretches.

"Hah! Your enthusiasm is good, my pupil...however, we'll start with a lecture. Please, take a seat in the meditative position." He says, gesturing to the ground before him. It's kind of a moodkiller, you were getting yourself hyped up for some physical training! You oblige him nonetheless, and he continues to speak once you do. "Now, the topic of today's lesson shall be our desires. All beings are beholden to them, as even gods can know things such as hunger, so it is important that you come to terms with the fact that your desires are natural. Gluttony, wrath, even lust - they are all perfectly normal things to feel, the problem is when people act upon those desires without restraint..." He drones on.

Needless to say, by the end of that lecture you were pretty red-faced due to some of the things discussed. And, yes, he revealed more knowledge of some of your doings, and even managed to rightly guess many of the impure thoughts you've had in your life - it was thoroughly embarrassing, though you have to admit that he did well in trying to mitigate your embarrassment. Your lessons would continue in much the same vein, with the vast majority of Kami's efforts being focused on lectures rather than exercises. The few exercises he did instruct you in were used in the exact manner he informed you of from the onset: the refinement of the myriad of techniques you already knew.

Before you knew it, Barbar's birthday had rolled around, and as you predicted he was ecstatic at seeing his gift. He actually grinned when he unwrapped it, which is the Barbar equivalent to jumping for joy and hugging someone hard enough to hurt! The rest of the birthday went pretty well too, you'd say: Mr. Popo baked a cake that far outclasses anything you could make, though you were quick to weasel the recipe out of him, and Azalea had whipped out a strange ball covered in tiny mirrors alongside some colorful lights to apparently get everyone to 'disco'. Which worked, of course, as Azalea is far too convincing for her own good - even Kami briefly joined your group for a moment of dancing in revelry - only Piccolo left himself out of it, apparently unwilling to come out of his shell even then.
>>
After the night of celebration passed, you were thrown into more group training sessions with Barbar and Piccolo, likely an attempt by Kami to get Piccolo to bond with the two of you more. Even with your increased power, you still stood no chance against Piccolo in the sparring sessions you had with him, though you did learn about a few surprising flaws to take advantage of; his hearing, even more sensitive than yours, was quite vulnerable to high-pitched sounds it seems...that, and the fact that his 'fighting style' is hardly a style at all, consisting mostly of the kind of split-second decision making you'd expect to see in animals. With his enormous natural strength, he's simply never had a need to learn how to use it effectively at all, so there's countless issues the way he fights - although you also suspect the isolation he had early in life might also have had something to do with that. You caught yourself wondering more than once if the rest of his people are just as freakishly strong as he is or not.

The refinement of your techniques came as slow but steady progress, necessitated by the fact that if you didn't improve, you would stand no chance at all against Piccolo - and Barbar's own progression of skill meant that he would pose a good challenge to you when lowering your strength to his level if you didn't at least keep up. Still, you felt as though it was slow going on this front, and the tweaks and changes you made to your fighting styles, techniques, and even spells met with failure more often than not. It taught you what to avoid, if nothing else, but you were hitting an invisible wall when it came to the majority of your techniques. Two of your techniques, however, were the exception...

>Choose two of your existing techniques or spells to upgrade. Refer to the list on your character sheet. https://pastebin.com/a6UWzH2p

On the purity side of things, you actually do quite well in absorbing Kami's daily lessons. Memorizing them was simple enough, but internalizing their message was the hard part - you can't just understand the meaning behind the ideas, but you had to believe in them. You had to embody them. You had to cast off the parts of you that were weighing your heart down. By the time Kami declares that your heart is finally pure, five years have passed, and you've grown greatly as a person. The waters of your soul are far more still and clear than ever before, as evident by the fact that even Azalea fails to bring you embarrassment with her lewd suggestions these days. You've learned to accept your natural impulses for what they are, but not to fall prey to them: you are the master of your body, never the other way around.
>>
Of concern to you, however, is the progress of Kami's other two disciples. Piccolo remained distant from everyone save for Harum despite the years going by, never engaging in any form of socialization outside of what Kami requested of him. He made it blatantly obvious that he was not here to be friends with any of you, and that he only saw you as obstacles in his way at best. Barbar seemed to struggle greatly with the dark deeds of his past, and you can tell that he's been unable to even grasp the concepts that Kami's been trying to explain to him in every lesson. Perhaps it's because of the culture that Barbar came from, or how set in his ways he is due to his age, or perhaps even a matter of being unable to move past some form of guilt over the blood he's spilled in the past; regardless of the cause, you've come to learn that Barbar has made next to no progress in purifying his heart. A true shame, given how such a thing was the entire reason behind why he wanted to train under Kami to begin with.

During your first five years of training under Kami, you made sure to fulfil your promises to your parents, visiting them every weekend to make up for your years-long absences and finally managing to mend your relationship with your Mother; she no longer threatens to ground you if you don't come back, so that's a plus in your book! Your relationship with Azalea remained as steady as ever, and you even still enjoyed intimate moments with her from time to time, though as your heart became purer it was characterized more and more by fondness over pleasure. With Harum, you actually went through the arduous process of being introduced to the wonders of the internet alongside Kami, who he seemed to feel needed some kind of hobby other than gardening. You took to it a lot faster than Kami did, but ever since Kami DID figure it out, somehow packages from various businesses kept ending up at the lookout...how, you still haven't figured out. Your off-training time with Barbar was, surprisingly, usually spent in Mr. Popo's company: the two of them shared a fondness for botanical work, it seems, while you shared a culinary interest with the attendant. Quite often, your hobbies intersected in that the plants grown by Barbar and Mr. Popo were used in dishes prepared by yourself and the portly genie, enjoyed soon after by your trio.
>>
Knowing that your heart is now pure after your years-long effort, you could easily end your training here...but you know that doing so would be a disservice to not only you, but to Barbar and Piccolo as well. You can't help but feel a need to help them onto the right track, and not just because you don't want to become an interim Guardian in a few years - at this point, you're mature enough that such a thing doesn't bother you, as you're fully aware of how necessary the job is. What you really want is to see the other two disciples become, like you, the best version of themselves they could be. The only question is how you can possibly do that...and who might need the help more, as you're only one person, after all.

The depth of your grasp on ki is considerably greater than it used to be, and you've grown far more skilled at manipulating your ki. You can automatically tell when foreign ki is within your area of influence, and you can shape your ki far more freely than before - copying the rough idea of someone else's technique is more viable, and you can come up with unique ways to utilize your ki on the spot instead of having to rely solely on your practiced techniques to achieve what you want. Improvised techniques are still not as effective as using something you've drilled into your muscle memory, though.

Taigakuro - An improvement on your Claw Empowerment technique. You can still run your ki through either your natural claws or the wearable claws you often fight with to drastically enhance their durability and sharpness, to an even greater degree than previously, but now you're capable of something even greater: Extending those same claws with longer, sharper, and much more dangerous projections of ki. Despite being projections, you've actually made it fairly energy efficient thanks to practicing with it until it was like an extension of your body.

Some excellent rolls, lads! It looks like you'll be contributing 19 to Barbar and Piccolo's rolls - halved from 39 since you split focus on them equally.
Here's Barbar's continued Training and Purity roll - he actually stands a decent chance with purity despite the massive setback previously.

Ultimately, you knew that you couldn't morally justify prioritizing one over the other, and so you would seek to split your efforts with them equally. Your advice should hopefully help them in making a breakthrough, even if you won't be able to follow up as closely as you'd like. Of course, even with this, you found that you had a bit more free time than before due to the fact that you no longer have to spend long and countless hours meditating upon yourself - time that you opt to spend on studying The Ring you acquired a few years ago, now that you have the opportunity to.

Despite the fact that you were not nearly an expert on enchantments and only knew the basics of identification, you found that the subject was surprisingly easy to pick up with an on-hand object to work with. You made sure to be extremely careful when working with The Ring, taking advantage of your far-seeing arts to examine the invisible structure of magic woven into the golden band from impossibly close up and from various angles that would be otherwise impossible to work with - a unique way to use such arts that impressed Kami when he found out about it, as he had only used it to broaden his vision rather than to focus on a single thing in greater detail. After a few months, you'd filled an entire book with countless diagrams on The Ring's enchantment and were ready to start moving on to isolating the spell from the framework that kept it bound to the object.

The spell, as you came to find, worked by very slightly transmuting the wearer's body into a phantasmal form that permitted them to see things that would be visible only to other spirits. While you were wary of experimenting too much with a spell of such nature, Kami thankfully provided you with insight after you ran your findings by him - his own technique that he used to remove Garlic's soul apparently operated on the same principal with with greater force imbued to it, and he offered to teach you more about such magic so as to prevent and accidents from happening. You obliged happily of course, and by the end of a year you had learned not only The Ring's spell and Kami's technique, but your studies into enchanting itself bore fruit as you came to understand how to lay your own enchantments onto objects. It only took about four dozen failed attempts to replicate The Ring itself, but what matters the most is that you did it! And the original is still fully intact, which is a bonus in your eyes.
>>
Outside of your studies, Kami's training with you in particular adopted a much greater focus on your mental prowess. Each and every day he would challenge you to focus on more and more tasks simultaneously while enduring increasingly harsh conditions and ever-greater distractions to try to break your concentration - a job which Azalea seemed to enjoy all to much to help with, much to your chagrin. Still, despite the difficulties involved, you found yourself improving rapidly until you could handle tracking a plethora of complex issues simultaneously. This helped drastically with your use of the Far-Seeing Arts, which when coupled with the power of the Lookout now enabled you to keep tabs on not just hundreds nor thousands of people but tens of thousands of them at once. On your own such a task would still be blatantly impossible for you, but the Lookout's ability to augment the viewer's existing abilities should never be underestimated it seems.

Brains 4 -> 5. Enchantment, Soul Removal, and Spirit Sight learned. Far-Seeing Arts upgraded.

While you did invest a great deal of your time on both your studies and your training, the majority of your free time had been spent trying to help with Barbar and Piccolo's own training. Barbar's issues stemmed heavily in the mindset that was drilled into him every night and every day for decades - he cultivated a warrior's heart stained in the blood of his enemies, and such a thing is by no means easy to abandon. You would find that your greatest breakthrough with him would come two years after you achieved purity, on a warm summer evening.

The two of you were sitting on the lookout's edge, legs dangling over the side as the two of you looked up at the countless stars overhead. "Hey, Barbar?" You called out to him, breaking the peaceful quiet.

"Mm?" He grunted back questioningly, glancing over to you.

"What does it mean to be a warrior? To you, I mean." You asked him, not breaking your gaze from the heavens above.

"Hm. Been a while since you asked that, not since you were a kid. A warrior is to the sword as an artist is to the brush. We're molded to fight on the battlefields, to live and die by the blade." He explained.

"I see. I assume your own master taught you that?" You asked, to which he nodded.

"Yes, but it was not just him. All of my people have come to define warriors this way. It is our way to perfect the art of bloodshed." He replied.

"Well, it's true that a Warrior's purpose is to fight. But I don't think that it's necessarily a bad thing, is it?" You responde, turning to look at him. His brow furrowed at this, but he remained silent long enough that you took the chance to continue. "I think it's possible to be a Warrior that strives for peace. Someone that fights to protect others - isn't that what we did back in Teal's Castle, when we first met?" You prompted him.
>>
"No...that was just for my sake. I simply wanted to leave, but was too weak to do it on my own." He admitted with a heavy tone. It came as a bit of a surprise to you, as you'd always thought that he had been trying to help the people just like you...but still, you didn't let the surprise show on your face.

"There's nothing wrong with that, as long as the result is the same. You saved everyone there with me despite everything. You even sacrificed an arm in the process." You pointed out, noting that his gaze was immediately drawn to his metallic arm. He brought it up, clenching and unclenching the fist in front of him a few times as he considered your words.

"I am not the man you see me as." He concluded, lowering his hand back down to his side. "There is much about me that you do not know. That I have never shared." He admitted, before going quiet once more.

"...Better late than never." You said back at him after a few long moments, hanging on a hopeful note that he seemed to consider.

"...When I'm ready. But not now." He eventually said, seeming oddly vulnerable at the moment. With a gentle nod, you had relented, and the two of you turned your gazes towards the world below you to watch the cities below for the rest of that night.

From that point onward, you noticed (admittedly, mostly through Kami's assistance in picking up on such things) an impressive amount of progress from the otherwise slow-going efforts from Barbar - whatever he was struggling against in his head, your talk seemed to have helped him work through some of the mental blocks that had been previously impeding him. Piccolo, however, surprised you the most; unlike Barbar, it seems as though he may have had some kind of epiphany entirely by himself, a fact that became readily apparent to you when he approached YOU for once. You recall the first time he actually made an effort to get to know you, about six months after your talk with Barbar.

Although it had been in Winter, Winter's chill had enough sense not to touch the serenity of the Lookout - you were unsure if such could be attributed to just how high up it was, or if it was another one of the Lookout's many powers. In fact, you'd been feeling particularly heated from the exertion of sparring against Piccolo per Kami's instruction that day, a match which naturally ended in Piccolo's favor; most of them do, given the clear gap of power between the two of you still...though you at least had the satisfaction of knowing that you were far more skilled than him, and surprised him with your on-the-fly tactics more often than not.

A simple white towel found itself thrown at your face after the match, tossed by your sparring partner. You'd caught it with a bit of surprise, but were quick to start towelling off some of the sweat on your face. "Thanks, Piccolo!" You'd said to him with one of your usual enthusiastic grins. Surprisingly, he actually had the barest hint of a smile to return towards you this time.
>>
"Don't mention it." He replied in a gruff tone, ears twitching briefly as though they'd caught onto something that you couldn't quite hear yourself. "It's the least I could do for letting me use you as a punching bag so often." He continued, and though his tone didn't betray any hint of it, you suspected it was said to poke fun at you. A remarkable development from the closed-off stoic!

"Is that what that was? I was under the impression you were letting me refine all my best techniques on you. I mean, why else would you let all of them land?" You countered with a cheeky expression.

"Heh." Piccolo had actually laughed! Extremely briefly, but it was there nonetheless. "Keep that attitude up and I might just have to put you in my place by showing you my full power one of these days. You wouldn't last even a minute." He replied in a noticeably empty threat.

"Any time, any place. You know I never shy away from a challenge." You taunted back, making a few jabs into the air while dancing on your heels for a few seconds.

"Why's that?" He asked, genuine curiosity in his tone. It surprised you enough to make you blink for a moment.

"Why? I don't know. I guess it's just in my nature, you know? The thought of a challenge always gets my blood pumping. I wouldn't be here today if I ignored my instincts." You replied after a few more moments of contemplation.

"I see..." He said, seeming to think on your answer for a few seconds. "What do you believe causes that nature, then? Is it purely the circumstances of your birth, or does your upbringing have anything to do with it?" He questions you further.

"Uhh..." You reply, initially stumped. "Well, I can't say for sure, to be honest! My father always took me out hunting when I was a kid, and I think that at least had something to do with it. But I think a good part of it is more...primal than that. I'm partially beast-blooded, so there might be something going on with that. There's definitely at least a few instincts that are hard-coded into me because of it, but...y'know, I just learned to ignore most of them. I actually used to tear up the furniture a LOT before I was old enough to learn restraint, apparently." You explained, rubbing the back of your head sheepishly upon revealing your infantile exploits.

"Hm. So, you think you would never be able to rid yourself of those instincts, then? Only to ignore them." He continued to ask, strangely enough. You gave him a combination of a shrug and a nod.

"Yeah, that's about the best you can manage, I reckon. And hey, it's just one step on the road to mastering yourself." You replied, pointing a thumb to your chest.

"Hm...alright, I don't have any more questions for you today. You've given me enough to think about. Thanks for humoring me." He thanked you with a near imperceptible bow of the upper body, before he turned and left the room in a hurry.
>>
After that incident, you'd managed to form the framework of a friendship with Piccolo now that his guard was no longer constantly up around you. You had many more discussions of a similar nature with him, and even managed to discuss your respective pasts together after a while. While you admittedly already knew much of Piccolo's story, it was nonetheless heartwrenching to hear about just how alone he truly felt, even now. You had come to find out that once he left Yunzabit Heights, the younger Piccolo had travelled the world just like you. Unlike you, however, he was not filled with an eternal optimism, nor did he find camaraderie and goodness in others - the only things he found had been countless displays of cruelty and evil. He admitted to you in confidence that, for a time, he felt as though no humans held goodness within their heart, and that even now he wonders if you and your group are merely rare exceptions to the rule. You did your best to break this illusion of his with stories of your journeys, though you can't deny that your own adventures lead you to evildoers far more often than not.

Before you knew it, ten entire years had passed between when you first started training with Kami and now. You've been pure of heart for five years, and today, Piccolo has announced that he will finally achieve purity himself. Though you and Kami could still sense the darkness dwelling within him, all of you had obliged his request to witness the moment that he managed it. You can't help but feel a bit of skepticism, knowing that he still has a good ways to go before he can claim such - outside of a strange new form of meditation or an esoteric heart-clearing technique, you're unsure how he could possibly manage such things. You're there to cheer him on, regardless, gathered with everyone else on the surface of the lookout.

"Today marks the day that I finally cast off the evil within me. I've come to learn that I was born with a dark nature, with impulses I may never be able to shed under normal circumstances. The reason why my progress has been so slow hasn't been from a lack of effort, but from a lack of compatibility. Not all souls are born pure and innocent, but today I'm going to change that." Piccolo declares boldly in front of all of you, with you raising an eyebrow. What is he getting at?

Piccolo flared his aura, his power surging upward for a few moments as all of his muscles clenched. With a shout, he spread his arms as wide as they could go, and his ki pulsed forward in his shape, though much darker than his usual ki, before springing back into place with the darkness fading. He repeated it once more, his energy going further this time before its return. On the third time, his energy seemed to separate almost entirely from him, forming a dark silhouette flying above you all. The energy emanating from it is nothing short of malicious, every bit as evil as the foes you've faced in the past...yet, you can't help but notice that both it and Piccolo's own energy seem to be drastically weaker than Piccolo's normally is. In fact, they're both only a bit stronger than you right now!

Piccolo seems to be panting from the exertion, sweat dripping down him. "Haaa...haaa...it's done! Now all that's left is to get rid of the remnants of my evil." He says, raising a hand towards the lingering shade and charging his ki up into a ball. Firing it at the freshly-born entity, it explodes right on it, but shockingly enough the act throws Piccolo himself back like he'd just been hit by it! He now seems to be bleeding from several spots due to some unseen backlash from his own attack, shockingly enough. The entity itself is reeling from the attack, so at least some of the damage seemed to go through to it, but it looks like it's already starting to recover.

This might get messy without intervention, but...it's also Piccolo's duty and pride on the line here, it looks like. Should you intervene? Can you afford NOT to? The thing is made of Piccolo's evil, but who's to say that it should be killed just because of that? What should you do here?

>Rush to Piccolo's aid. You always have some fairy dust, seal up those wounds of his.
>Attack the shade, you can at least stun it so it doesn't get away!
>Stand back. This is Piccolo's duty, you won't deny him it.

Your first thought is one you act upon instantly, recognizing that Piccolo needs help. You rush towards his side immediately, hand untying the simple leather sack you keep your collection of Fairy Dust in from your belt. Standing over him, you retrieve a fistful of the wound-sealing powder and shout "Don't breathe this in!" As a word of warning to your green friend. You toss it over him with gusto, the shimmering dust settling into his body and disappearing as it starts to seal up his wounds...actually, it's sealing them MUCH faster than it does with you and everyone else you've used it on. A boon as far as you're concerned, although you have a sneaking suspicion it might prove beneficial for someone else as well.

Glancing back over your shoulder at the lingering shade of Piccolo's malice, you bear witness to the gaping hole that Piccolo shot into its wavering form starting to seal up just as rapidly as Piccolo's own wounds. The cause is quite clear to you, and your eyes open wide in a sudden panic. "Piccolo, it's linked to you! Any damage it takes will reflect back on to you!" You exclaim to the horror of almost everyone else present. Barbar's grip on his blade slackens as he grows unsure of the right course of action, Azalea's light flickers rapidly in a bit of a panic, Kami watches the proceedings with a stony and unreadable expression, while Harum actually seems to have an idea.

"Then we need to trap it somehow!" Your monkey friend says.

"Damn it! Will I truly never be free of my evil nature?!" Piccolo laments angrily, slamming his fist on the tiles below and cracking several of them. He pulls himself up from the ground, staring down at the shade of his own making with a cold fury in his eyes.

You don't linger for much longer - Harum had the right idea, and you have exactly the tool for the job you think. You practically fling yourself towards the dormitories of the Lookout, peeling up several tiles in your mad dash towards your room in particular. In the blink of an eye, you're inside the room, having thrown open the door haphazardly. Your gaze sweeps across the somewhat disorderly room before it lands on exactly what you wanted to find: the Trap you bought off of Dude a few years back. You're quick yet careful to liberate it from the small amount of laundry that had miraculously found its way atop it, and in another blink you've sprinted back to the Lookout's landing.

You're not entirely certain what you expected to see when you came back, but it certainly wasn't Piccolo's body being forced into the ground so intensely by an invisible force that he leaves a clear dent. The Shade's arms are outstretched as it makes its telekinetic retaliation, clearly intended to buy itself some time in a way that doesn't bring harm to either of them. Worse yet, you can see that the Shade's form is starting to become more defined with each second that passes, translucent darkness giving way to slightly more opaque colors...including green.

You don't hesitate for even a moment, knowing that you can't afford to with how rapidly the situation is developing. You flip the switch on the trap, which humms to life ominously, and pitch it low to the ground so that it would slide across the relatively smooth surface and come to a stop just underneath the malevolent shade. The red light on the device lights up, recognizing a valid entity above it, and the black-and-orange hatch opens up to reveal an almost blindingly bright multicolored otherworldly light within.

Arcs of lightning shoot up from the device and start to wrap around the Shade, which has no choice but to end its assault on Piccolo. It seems to look down at the Trap with panic, especially as the device whirrs louder and starts to slowly but surely pull the phantom closer to the source of the etherial light within it. The Shade's struggles intensify dramatically with each inch of ground that it gives up, while Piccolo picks himself up once more and warily watches his counterpart's almost certain defeat.

To your shock (and everyone else's, for that matter), the Shade's arms grasp either side of the Trap moments before it would get fully sucked in. The phantasmal arms are looking much more solid than the rest of it suddenly, and worse yet the Shade seems to be prying itself up and out of the Trap's maw! Every moment that passes sees the Shade wiggling more and more free and ramping up in power, and you're certain that if you don't do anything, it'll wrench itself completely free! But what could you do without harming Piccolo? Or...perhaps harming Piccolo is exactly what you need to do, to weaken it enough to trap it for good? You're not certain, but maybe someone else would be able to help best - your arsenal of techniques isn't exactly the most suited to dealing with immaterial foes, unless you get creative enough!

>Piccolo seems like the type who would be willing to take a hit to ensure victory...hit him with Flash Lightning, to stun the phantom!
>Soul Removal is extremely debilitating, but takes a while to work...maybe you can weaken it enough with that? You're not sure if it would hurt Piccolo or not through the life link, but it's worth a shot.
>If it's starting to become somewhat solid, maybe you can just shove it back down!
>Look to one of the others for a solution, one of them MUST have a good idea on how to handle this! (Who?)

Seeing the Shade pulling itself back out of the trap by turning more and more solid gives you a flash of inspiration. Although your first instinct to rush in and slam it back down, you hesitate for just a moment as a thought crosses your mind - would Piccolo resent you for taking charge of his mistake like that? A flash of guilt pangs at your heart, and so you instead look to piccolo with a serious expression.

"Piccolo, you have to make sure it doesn't escape! Drive it back down into the trap, so we can seal it away for now!" You yell out to him, fists clenched as you resist the urge and temptation to do it yourself.

"Right!" He exclaims back, dashing forward and grabbing hold of his counterpart's solidified wrists. Gritting his teeth, his muscles flex and bulge as he brings to bear as much force as he can manage, the shade's arms shaking as they struggle to maintain their hold. It looks like a stalemate for a few seconds, neither one making ground off the other, before the shade's arms suddenly do something you distinctly forgot about from your sparring sessions with Piccolo: They stretch and bend an impossible amount, acting like a boneless noodle more than an arm!

Piccolo stumbles forward, taken completely off-guard by the sudden change, which the shade doesn't even hesitate to take advantage of. One of its arms wraps itself around Piccolo's neck and torso multiple times, tugging on him harshly to try to pull him into the trap instead of itself. Piccolo's first instinct, understandably enough, is to grasp the sides of the trap to try to prevent this from happening - an act that plays entirely into the Shade's hand, since it can now leverage both Piccolo's and its own strength to pry itself free of the trap's pull.

With a frantic and sharp tug, it flings itself from the trap's influence entirely while shoving Piccolo down towards it. Piccolo's head smashes against the metal almost harmlessly beyond a tiny scuff, while the Shade creates some distance between itself and everyone else by flying overhead. "No!" "Damn!" "Unbelievable!" The various warriors gathered call out, yourself included.

In the midst of everyone's disbelief, a laugh starts to ring out. It starts off low as a low chuckle, but grows steadily into a full-on boisterous cackling. The Shade's form fully solidifies before your eyes, your one chance to entrap him in etherial form now gone it seems. Flying above you all, arms crossed imperiously, is the form of Piccolo; his expression is one of sadistic glee, no doubt eager to spend his first moments of existence terrorizing others.

"Such a lovely welcoming party. Is this a surprise for my birthday? It is only fitting to pay tribute to this world's new King." The doppelganger taunts, grinning. This just got a whole lot more serious...

Pretty clear cut result. Four of you can roll me a d50 to try to restrain him! Your DC is going to be equal to this roll. You're not alone though, I'll roll for the others after we see your rolls!
Ignore the fact that I rolled the wrong dice for the piccolos previously, I forgot to apply the de-tiering. The ratio was in KP's favor regardless of dice size.

"I'm sorry, Piccolo!" You called out towards the one on your side. "I'm stepping in to help now, I know exactly what will happen if he gets away!" You reveal, thoughts momentarily envisioning the bloodshed and destruction that Fortuneteller Baba told you that Piccolo would be responsible for.

"Don't worry, I forgive you for your ignorance, my dear friend...but don't think for a moment that I'll go easy on you just because of our history together! Unlike that pathetic weakling standing beside you, there's nothing holding me back from killing anyone that gets in my way!" The self-proclaimed would-be King Piccolo declares, as though you'd been talking to him. The good half of Piccolo scowls up at him quietly, before glancing at you and nodding as a clear sign that he was okay with your help.

With Piccolo's blessing given, you focus your energy to bolster your power just a moment before you leap up towards the evil half of Piccolo. You create one air-step, then another, and a third to launch yourself off of in rapid succession in order to gain enough height and speed to close the gap between the two of you. Piccolo's counterpart swipes his hand to the side, unleashing a wave of invisible force that flings you off-course before you would actually reach him, but you account for the redirection quickly by creating a fourth air-step in order to tackle him from the side.

"If you truly wish to be my first victim, then I'll grant your wish!" 'King' Piccolo barks out in anger as your arms lock his own arms down to his sides with a bear-hug. He throws his knee up to try to drive it into you, but you shift around the blow simply enough, aided greatly by the fact that you can also move him around with your ever-tightening grip. Gritting his teeth with a growl, he looks over at you and gathers ki into his eyes, releasing a beam of lethal energy from them aimed right at your head!

Thankfully for you, the beams connect with a shining blade and reflect off of it, shooting off into the heavens above instead. Piccolo's expression turns to one of shock as Barbar turns the flat of the blade towards Piccolo and quickly maneuvers behind him, pulling The Sword back and up in order to force Piccolo's head towards the sky so that he can no longer look anywhere else without harming himself. Glancing down, you can see Harum locking his arms around the malevolent entity's legs, thus securing the remaining free part of his body. Your enemy struggles greatly for a moment, before ceasing briefly as his eyes open wide at the Good Piccolo's approach.

Your Piccolo, the good-natured one, flies directly up and slams a fist directly into his counterpart's own gut, causing the both of them to double over wheezing - Barbar has to shift his position suddenly in order to not accidentally slit his quarry's throat.

"Hrrk- what do you think you're doing?!" The evil one asks, getting a smirk from the good one.

"Whatever I need to." Your Piccolo replies cockily.

He pulls his fist back again to go for a second strike, only for his evil counterpart's ki to spike upwards sharply. With a shout, he exerts a uniform pressure in a blast all around him in order to force all of you off of him, flinging the three of you far away before you can manage to catch yourselves - yourself and Barbar with some well placed air steps, and Harum by grabbing onto one of the palm trees of the lookout before he passed it by. The good Piccolo doesn't seem to have been sent very far comparatively, his mastery of flight being put to good use to weather the burst of energy.

"Haah..." He breathes out heavily from the intense expendeture, though only for a moment. "Such an annoying swarm of insects you have fighting for you, brother! I think it's time we evened things out a little. Let's start with your favorite worm!" He exclaims, thrusting his palm out towards Harum to reveal he'd been secretly charging his ki into his fist. A bright yellow ball of energy screams towards Harum with a thick trail behind it, but thankfully Harum is aware enough to swing himself out of the way! King Piccolo begins to laugh, however, pointing back to the attack.

"Perhaps you shouldn't have dodged! Look at where it'll go next!" He taunts, and your gaze snaps back to the attack.

The streaking orb of energy keeps speeding off into the distance, curving as it approaches the horizon. Gravity seems to take effect on it, causing its trajectory to line up with...no! It's headed right towards West City at this rate! Did that bastard line it up like that intentionally?! You glance frantically from the attack as it charges towards its newest target, over to the man who created it. What's to stop him from creating more of those blasts if you don't stop him now? But...can you really afford to let that blast land? How could you stop it? Can you even make it in time to protect the City far below?

"I'll stop it!" You cry out, immediately sprinting towards the edge of the lookout by generating several air-steps to act as a stairway down for you - just dropping normally would take too much time, you need horizontal momentum if you want to catch up to the destructive orb. You fling yourself off the lookout without a moment's hesitation, bringing your fingers up to the sides of your mouth and whistling as loud as you can to call for your Flying Nimbus.

"You go too far, Piccolo. I shall make you regret your decision to attack my people." Your keen ears pick up Kami's voice, but soon after you hear nothing but the rushing of the wind as a familiar yellow cloud catches your fall and speeds away towards the 'missed' attack. You crouch down low in order to reduce drag, and you can feel the Nimbus pushing itself as hard as possible to catch up. It takes a good MINUTE to finally close the gap, with the blast now only a few miles out from the city, but you finally make a hard turn right in front of it and bring all your energy into your fists to slam them against the massive ball of ki.

Even with the protective sheath of energy around your hands, Piccolo's attack burns and sizzles your skin. It continues to push forward, greatly slowed by your efforts but not stopped - the sheer force behind it makes your arms want to buckle. Your muscles are shaking, your teeth are grit, and doubt it starting to creep into you on if you're actually strong enough to save the people of West City...and that's when you feel another force beside you, also resisting the blast.

Your head turns to see Mr. Popo, standing atop his carpet with his hands similarly thrust against the ball of ki. He has a look of great concentration on his face, but he still affords a moment to look back at you and give you a smile. "You seemed like you could use a hand, my friend." He says, before directing his attention back to the ball. You nod with renewed spirits, and redouble your efforts to stop it.

Slowly but surely, the two of you pushing together in tandem manage to stop the orb in its tracks - though it certainly felt like you barely managed the task. You were about to celebrate your victory over it, but the orb suddenly changes color, and you can feel the energy within it changing, becoming increasingly volatile with each passing moment. Your eyebrows shoot up, and just when you're about to react, you feel two hands shove you off of the Nimbus.

"What?!" You exclaim in shock as you fall down, looking up to see Mr. Popo standing there with his arms still outstretched from pushing you. He waves down at you with a serene smile, while your Nimbus dives down rapidly to prepare for catching you.

"Do your best, young master!" Mr. Popo says, before Piccolo's attack detonates in a fiery explosion that consumes the attendant's form. The explosion itself creates a pressure wave that batters you away even further, while the attack expands to the size of the city you saved.

You're forced to look away, shielding your eyes from the brightness of the expanding ki. By the time the explosion fades into nothing more than smoke, the Nimbus has successfully caught you once more, sparing you from hitting the ground at terminal velocity thanks to its squishy body. Your eyes look around the hazy sky where Popo once was, and even spare a glance down to the skies and ground below, but you don't see any sign of your friend. In a vain hope, you expand your ki senses, but you can feel nothing of his energy either. It seems as though Mr. Popo is no more.

"No, damn it! Why him?!" You cry out, feeling tears welling up at the corners of your eyes. A familiar acidic anger wells up in your chest, the same kind as when you fought Garlic, but you push it down for now - you can't afford to go wild out here, far away from the target of your ire and far too close to a city full of innocents as you are. Clenching your fists so tightly that your nails dig deep enough into your flesh as to produce blood, you make the decision to return to the others as quickly as possible.

Even with the Nimbus going as quickly as it possibly can, it takes another minute to return to the Lookout. A minute filled with growing worry and dread, as you had no choice but to abandon the fight for two full minutes that your enemy could use to turn the tides. Would you come back to find any of your other friends dead? Would Piccolo's Malevolent half have beaten down everyone else with his absurd natural power, with his good half unable to stop him due to their link?

Once you're close enough to the Tower's bottom, you snap yourself out of your spiralling thoughts and leap from the Flying Nimbus, hopping from air-step to air-step to make the climb in just a few seconds. With a tight series of flips, you land onto the surface of the Lookout once more, and draw your gaze across it to gather information on how things have changed.

Both Piccolos are nursing a deep cut across their chest, purple blood spilling forth from it - though only the evil half's shirt is torn where the cut happened. Barbar's artificial arm seems to have been shattered to pieces, while Harum appears to have been thrown into the west wing of the lookout's accommodations - he's still extricating himself from the rubble, it looks like. Kami has two holes in his shoulder, which he's clutching while glaring out the enemy, and Azalea is...initially nowhere to be seen, strangely enough.

"Only one of you came back, hmm? What a shame. I thought I felt one of your life forces get snuffed out." King Piccolo says with a vicious grin, before holding up his hand. Within his fist is Azalea, struggling to try to free herself to no avail, even going so far as to ineffectually bite at the villain's hand. "I would think twice about attacking me if you don't want to lose another friend!" He gloats, causing your anger to boil up even further. You want nothing more than to give in to your rage right now...

>>
>>5709869
>>5709897
It's unlikely the icon would save one without saving the other at the same time.
As for saving Azalea...it may require high rolls from you (and comparatively low rolls from him) to save her if you give in to your anger and start attacking him again, given her current position.
This is definitely an important decision worth considering in detail. You'll gain the immediate power needed to defeat him, and may even become permanently more powerful like before, but it could cost you two more friends in the process potentially...and from a meta level, preclude you from resurrecting them by 'the usual means'.
Conversely, restraining yourself and taking the peaceful route could lead to widespread death and devastation. But you'd have the option of fixing the damages to that later, potentially. Of course, you'd still have to find a way to handle KP.

It's a fairly lengthy technique, not one that will render someone incapacitated or unable to interact with things in a timely fashion - it's usually best used when you're far away from your target, can distract or slow them with other things, or have someone else fighting them. Hell, it took like an entire episode or two for Kami to succumb to it in the Garlic Jr arc of the show.

...And yet, you still force yourself to breathe deeply and calm the tumultuous sea of your soul. It doesn't matter how much you want to give in to your anger, you'll never risk the lives of your friends to do so. The heat of your rage tapers off, no longer threatening to boil over, though still obviously present - what he did is unforgivable, something you'll never be able to forget.

"Name your terms." You spit out, staring daggers at him over being unable to risk doing more to the bastard.

"That look suits you, Honta. A hatred like that...why, it almost makes me think of you as my kin." He taunts, causing you to clench your teeth that much harder to restrain yourself. "Here's the deal. I'm going to leave this place and go enjoy myself somewhere else. In three day's time, I'll release your precious little friend here - I won't harm a single hair on her head. But if I sense any of you leaving this lookout in that time, I'll crush every bone in her body faster than you can blink. She'll be squished just like an insect!" King Piccolo lays out his terms.

"What makes you think we'd agree to terms like that? How do we even know you'll fulfil your end of the bargain?" Barbar asks, narrowing his eyes at the manifested evil.

"You don't have a choice. You'll take the deal, or I'll vaporize her right now to save us all some time." King Piccolo threatens, tightening his grip just enough to make Azalea cry out. It immediately tugs at your heartstrings.

"Stop!" You cry out. "Alright, we'll do it! Just...just don't hurt her." You say, anger mixing together with equal parts of worry now.

"My word is my bond." King Piccolo says with a chuckle, backing up towards the edge of the lookout. "Three days. I'll prepare a welcoming feast that'll be to die for." He taunts one final time, before letting himself fall backwards off the lookout. Everyone present rushes towards the edge to look out over it, and you see King Piccolo flying off into the horizon at high speeds.

You smash your fist into the tiled floor of the lookout, leaving a foot-deep indentation of it in the ground and shattering several nearby tiles in the process. "Damn it! How are we supposed to just sit here for three days? He's out there, free to do anything he wants!" You shout at nobody in particular, that anger you suppressed flaring back up.

"We were ill-prepared to deal with a situation such as this one." Kami states in a level tone, no emotions clear in his voice or on his face. "But...we have three days to change that. We cannot change what has happened, but we can change what will happen."

"I can only hope so..." You say, once more recalling the cataclysm foretold to happen soon. "But how can we get ready in only three days?" You ask, turning to Kami. At this, he actually smiles, and holds up two fingers.

"I have two solutions. One, we can utilize a special chamber I have built upon the lookout...or two, we can ask HIM." He says, holding up something familiar...
>>
>>5710546
"Garlic? What makes you think he would help us?" You ask incredulously. He didn't exactly part with the living on good terms, after all.

"A reduced punishment. I am willing to transfer him over to the afterlife rather than keeping him here, where he can one day reincarnate, if he assists us. I know him to actually be an expert in the sealing arts, so it would appear to be an adequate solution to our problem." He responds, glancing within the dark crystal.

"Hm...and the other proposal?" You ask next.

"I call it the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. One day outside of the chamber is equal to a full year inside of it. There is enough food stocked within to last two people that entire year, assuming you can bear it that long. The conditions I've created within it are harsher than anything you'll ever find on earth...but it should prove to be an excellent place to train, and develop a technique suitable for handling Piccolo's darker half." Kami explains. "However! Know that I consider this the less reliable option. There is no guarantee any of you would be able to withstand a full year in there to take advantage of it, nor is there a guarantee that whatever time you spend in there can guarantee your success at developing a sealing technique powerful enough to contain him." He continues to warn.

It has you thinking for a few moments. Can you really risk working with your former enemy...? What kind of hell awaits you in the Time Chamber should you go that route? Maybe...you can try working with Garlic inside of the chamber, even? You rub your chin, deep in thought, before you deliver your answer.

>You'll work with Garlic's Spirit directly to seal away King Piccolo. The power and skills he can bring to the table are perfect for the job.
>You'll head to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber to try to develop a sealing technique of your own.

But for now, how about we enjoy a little perspective shift, before we reveal our slice-of-life sitcom show with Honta and Garlic?

You are evil incarnate, malevolence manifest. You share the name of your other half, Piccolo, but in truth it feels a little bare to you - in time, the world will know you as King Piccolo. No, even that isn't enough...you will be the Demon King Piccolo, the one who conquered everything under the heavens. Your birth was one that met with great resistance from your previous self's former friends, but you were able to play their emotions against them in order to secure time for yourself. You were unprepared the last time thanks only to the circumstances of your arrival into this world, but next time...next time, you would be more than prepared.

You brought your flight to a stop over the city you nearly destroyed, had it not been for Honta's timely intervention. That annoying, groveling servant met his end here if you remember correctly. The irritating Fairy you captured struggles still in your hand, so you growl down at her, baring your fangs.

"I made a promise not to harm a single hair on your head, but there can always be an 'accident' if you don't stop annoying me!" You bark out, which seems to work, as the miniature woman stops banging on your fist.

"Okay..." She says mournfully, sniffling a little. You scowl at the pathetic attempt to tug at your non-existent heartstrings, before turning your gaze back towards the city. There is much to be done if you're to be ready for the arrival of the 'heroes'...but, then again, today IS your birthday still. Perhaps you should enjoy yourself a little with a little bit of destruction and mayhem.

You close your eyes and breathe in the fresh air, enjoying the serenity that is freedom from everything that once held you back. It helps to clear your head of the lingering adrenaline from your previous fight, and the high of your first victory over those fools. You know that the attendant you slew, Mr. Popo, had a plethora of magical items he made in his time - you're not sure if you destroyed them or not when he died holding back your attack, but it could be worthwhile to check on the ground for any possible remnants. You can feel several strong energy signatures nearby, just outside of the city, which could potentially oppose you with the other heroes if you don't dispatch them in some way now. Your shared memories tell you that the seat of government in this world is in Central City, and that it would solidify your presence were you to decimate the opposition there and announce your new rule. So many things to do, so little time...

>Conquer Central City, and announce your rulership as your first act.
>Destroy West City, and the strong lifeforms near it.
>Look for Mr. Popo's remains, to take advantage of anything that may have remained intact.

You come to a decision after a few seconds of consideration. Your first gift to yourself will be nothing less than the world, and as such you need to make your way over to the seat of power for this world's government so that you can show everyone just how futile it is to resist you. You begin your flight once more, quickly speeding past West City to head to your new destination. Unbeknownst to you, those strong fighters just outside of West City had noted your unrestrained power and the immeasurable evil radiating from your ki - your might drives a spike of fear into the heart of even the strongest of them, so hopelessly outclassed as they are...they feel a shameful relief when they saw that you'd moved on for now.

Soon enough, you're hovering in the skies above Central City, watching the ants below go about their daily lives entirely oblivious to your presence. The gears of your mind spin as you contemplate how you want the world's first sight of you to be, eventually settling on 'imposing'. With that in mind, you force your ki through your body evenly, triggering your unique biology's ability to rapidly expand to far greater sizes than before. In a matter of seconds, you now tower over everything this planet has to offer save for the occasional Ferocisaurus; some people down below have taken notice of your sudden growth, being the massive figure in the sky that you are. You're almost ready for your introduction - you add just one final touch by flexing your will and magical power in order to create a magnificent crimson cape around you, one that should hopefully grow and shrink with you if you applied your on-the-fly enchantment to it correctly.

Preparations complete, your eyes scan the city for the most impressive building of them all - ah, there we go, a castle to call your own. You descend upon the stirring city with a grin, the multitude of ants split between swarming and staring at your arrival. You're an entirely new sight to them, so you can imagine their curiosity - in fact, one particularly curious and brave reporter comes right up to you with her crew.

"H-Hello sir, Action 7 News! We see that you've touched down in front of the King's Castle. Are you an alien envoy of some kind?" The reporter asks, unable to hide the small tremors she has from your intimidating form. Your smile only widens, and with two massive fingers you move to take the microphone from her, getting a yelp in response.

"Good evening, everyone. I am your soon-to-be new King. I have not come here in peace, nor will I accept any offers of peace. You will be subjugated and tormented and even destroyed purely for my entertainment, as a birthday gift to myself. Tonight, you bear witness to the rise of The Demon King Piccolo!" You announce, before crushing the microphone between your fingers. To bring the point home, you turn your gaze to the reporter, and with the slightest flex of your power you vaporize her entirely with your eye-beams.

"F-freeze!" a couple of blue-suited men declared, pointing some devices at you that you were admittedly less than familiar with. Half a second later, those devices were producing flashes of light and barking loudly as they flung tiny pieces of metal at you, totalling up to about two dozen each before they seemingly ran out of ammunition. You didn't even bother moving in any way, allowing their primitive weapons to bounce off of your superior form ineffectually, which only served to terrify them more.

Delighted with their growing horror, you raise a hand towards one of the duo and pinch your fingers together, your telekinetic power crushing the fool's body into a twisted cube effortlessly. His partner begins to scream, but you put a swift stop to that by swinging your hand out and decapitating him in an instant. Leaving the two pieces to fall to the ground, you finally make your way into the castle now that your first demonstration is complete.

Exactly as you suspected would happen, alarms begin blaring out within the castle, red lights flashing on and off. Your keen ears pick up the sounds of countless boots hitting the floor, and soon enough there's an entire squadron of ants dressed in their funny little uniforms and wielding seemingly more advanced weaponry, all ready to confront you. You spread your arms wide for them.

"This will be the only chance you have. Those of you who wish to serve your new King, kneel, and I may show mercy." You give them an out. Some of the less confident members seem shaky, two of them even taking a subconscious step back as their underdeveloped minds slowly realize how outclassed they are, but the rest...the rest seem to be rather suicidal, as they all open fire at you. Multicolored beams of light try to slam into you, explosives rocket straight towards your chest, and considerably larger and faster slugs of metal try to prick at your skin like annoying little bees. All of them fail to so much as draw blood from you or bruise you, merely serving to irritate you at best.

Unwilling to damage your soon-to-be new property, you wait until you have everything lined up just perfectly, and start to flick back those metal slugs faster than your targets can even blink. Each of the bullets you redirected pierced right through their new target's skull, leaving them to drop to the floor dead. As the smoke from the conflict clears, you can see that one of the humans actually took your advice, cowering on the floor in a prostrate position as though he was praying to you - the sight makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

"Look at that, Azalea. Perhaps these humans CAN learn their place after all. And here I was worried I'd have to get rid of all of them if they proved too worthless!" You proclaimed, laughing.

"You're a monster! And monsters always get what's coming to them!" The fairy fires back. You scoff at the notion.

"I'm no monster. I hope you'll soon realize...that I'm MUCH, much worse." You reply.

You then point a finger at the Fairy, using a miniscule amount of your magical power to create a cloth gag to shut her up with until you're ready to talk to her again. You direct you attention to the sole surviving member of what used to be the King's Guard, addressing him.

"Rise, my newest servant. Tell me, what is your name?" You ask him, mostly out of entertainment due to how amusing his quivering form is. He shakily climbs to his feet, and shoots off a stiff gesture you're unfamiliar with - you assume it to be some form of salute, however.

"P-Private Red, sir!" Your servant replies, to which you nod and fold your free arm behind your back. You're starting to get tired of carrying this fairy around everywhere...

"Lead me to the throne, Red. I have business to conduct." You command.

"Sir yes sir!" He says, slowly getting more of his spine back from the looks of it. He turns on a dime, and begins to lead you deeper into the castle. Your journey forward was not one without further opposition, but everything they brought to bear against you was so miniscule that it's hardly even worth remembering, let alone mentioning. Once you arrived at the throne room, you found yourself face to face with the previous king, whose features you don't even bother memorizing - he isn't even to be a footnote in the history of this world, as far as you're concerned. You discorporated him quite easily by throwing him through the nearest window and tossing a simple energy ball after him, giving yourself a nice fireworks show if nothing else.

You take a glance at the throne, shaking your head and tsking your tongue a few times. "This won't do at all...it needs an upgrade." You say, pointing your index and pinky fingers at the throne and unleashing a burst of magic power at it. The throne is transmuted into something far larger, adorned with spikes and flowing in an organic shape that you find intrinsically pleasing. The design reminds you greatly of your home back on Yunzabit heights which creates a pang of loneliness in your heart, but you feel nothing towards it beyond aesthetic appreciation.

You take a seat upon your new throne, letting out a sigh of satisfaction as you do so. "Tell me, Red...what makes a King a King?" You ask, rhetorically. You already know the answer, of course.

"Er...land ownership?" He suggests, incorrectly.

"Subjects." You growl out, causing him to jump. Your smile soon returns to you, though, as you raise your hand up. You begin to concentrate your energy in a fashion not too dissimilar to when your fused self created YOU, and from your gargantuan flesh begins to manifest offshoots of your own malevolence. Imbued with enough energy to make each of them more than a match for any human, you birth over a dozen sons. The family you always yearned for.
>>
When your spawn all finish forming over the next few minutes, they instinctively line up, turning to you for guidance. It is your place as their father to guide them, after all.

"Hello, my children. Today is a wonderful day. It is my birthday, and it is your own birthdays. It would bring me no greater joy than to see you all enjoying yourselves...so that is my command. Go forth, and bring terror in my name. Spread mayhem and devastation as you please! And remember, have fun doing it. I certainly wouldn't mind it if you surprised your father with a gift, but I shall leave the details of that up to each of you." You welcome your children into the world, giving them their purpose at the same time.

Several of them look to each other, nodding. All together, they turn towards the open window, and take flight out of it. You can see from their fading forms that they seem to be forming groups, with only three of your children proving to be 'lone wolves' that opt to go out on their own. You chuckle at the sight.

"Ah, kids..." You say to nobody in particular. You can already hear a few explosions, and QUITE a lot of screaming outside as they get to work. Such youthful energy they have! But, as you said, you'll leave them to their tasks. You have your castle, and the world knows of your new rule...what shall you do next, today?

At DC 25, you'll pick up the Gourd of Mist. At 50, you'll also have enough time to grab the Universal Ring. And at 75, a crit, you'll even be able to find the Dragon near Papaya Island and slay it.

After but a few minutes of contemplation on your royal throne, you create a plan. Years ago, you had overheard Honta talking to those clingy friends of his, discussing the magic items he'd learned about from some 'Fortuneteller Baba' figure. Given how he never really left the Lookout to pursue those items, you can only assume he had yet to get around to it yet - and you're planning to take advantage of his own inaction. One item in particular interested you the most, though you never would have dared to admit it back then, weak of mind as you once were...the Gourd of Mists, a legendary item that can allow one to claim the power of their enemies with ease.

You knew full well that your power had waned considerably since your division, but such a thing would hardly be permanent. Perhaps, if you played your cards right, you could one day devour your soft-hearted half to return to your true potential without sacrificing who you currently are...but until then, you had to accrue power. And though you currently overpower Honta, you still remember that terrifying power you felt him bring to bear against Garlic - power that nearly rivalled your own. He holds untapped potential within him, that much is to be certain, so you'll stack the deck as much in your favor as possible before your inevitable clash.

Of course, you're anticipating this next venture to be more intensive than taking this castle was, so you direct a finger down to the fairy clutched in your fist and materialize a small golden cage around her, which you loop around your belt so as to keep her on your waist. With her now secure, you begin your journey to the Diablo Desert in order to claim your first and most coveted prize...

The Journey there is quite dull admittedly, even with the small amount of entertainment you derive from spotting your children rampaging and terrorizing. It doesn't take you particularly long to get there, but it does take a good hour or so, as you took a more leisurely pace than before - partially a necessity, as you didn't actually know the exact location of the barbarian tribes you were looking for. Thankfully, your skyborn position makes it relatively easy to spot several plumes of smoke off in the distance, signalling the presence of several humans.

Flying above them, your keen eyes confirm that they are indeed the tribe you're looking for, as their attire is no different than the garments you've seen hung up in Barbar's room before. Simple leathers and furs, utterly primitive...it disgusts you, even though you must admit that you admire the brutality you've long since learned they had. As you descend upon their camp, their hustle and bustle slowly stops, individuals looking up from their butchering and cooking and smithing and training to look upon your glorious form.

"I come for the Gourd of Mists." You state, airing your intentions immediately. "Your permission is...unnecessary." You add on, smirking in a self-assured manner.

"You come here making demands, without any weapons?" A feminine voice asks, which reveals itself as she steps into view from a tent. Barely dressed at all in some furs, it seems to be a cocky blonde woman, who hefts little more than a glorified hunk of wood over her shoulder. By human standards, her power is actually quite impressive - for someone who likely doesn't have a single bit of knowledge regarding Ki, you can sense that she bears a potent lifeforce that rivals Barbar's own. Unfortunately for her, it's still nothing compared to your own, and her impudence has irritated you.

Holding a hand out towards her, your telekinesis latches on to her form and begins to lift her helplessly into the air, where she flails about in surprise and shock. "Wh-what?! A sorcerer?" She yells out disbelieving. You chuckle at her misunderstanding.

"You may as well think of me as a god for how far beyond you all I am. In all possible regards, my might is simply...superior. Of course, that won't matter for very long to you - you'll be joining everyone else I killed in the eternal torment I prepared just for you humans." You sneer, letting your ki flow invisibly into the tribe leader until it reaches the threshold for what you want to do. Closing your fist tightly, you detonate your energy within her, causing her floating form to spontaneously explode and rain her gibs across the entire camp. Your laughter rings out over their cries of horror.

"You coward! Fight us like a man!" Another fool shouts, the rest of them giving a rallying cry behind them. It seems this bunch is not so easily cowed? Good...it'll make it more fun. You grin to nobody other than yourself, and crack your knuckles.

Even taking your sweet time and savoring every last death, it took you only fifteen minutes to eradicate each and every person in the tribe. Down to the last woman and child, no matter how young, you made them pay for resisting you...they are by far your favorite humans you've met so far, but if you let insolence slide, it'll only get worse. You actually found the Gourd halfway through, but you wanted to make sure the message stuck, and such is why you're now standing in the burnt ruins of what was once Barbar's people.

Now that you have what you came for, you fly up into the skies once more, this time shooting off towards the North. Somewhere, hidden amongst the ice and snow up there, is supposed to be the Wizard's Tower that you're looking for. Admittedly, while the Universal Ring would no doubt prove to be a useful boon for the upcoming battle, your true goal laid within the wizard himself: if you can entrap him within the gourd, you could bolster your magical prowess considerably. In truth, you also planned to do the same to the next 'item' on your list, but you were taking things one at a time for now...

Such is what happens when you concentrate your evil and only your evil into something. Honestly, even in canon he's incredibly despicable and does things quite similar. Arguably more sadistic than Frieza, because he ACTUALLY traps the souls of those he kills in a torturous limbo...given the same scale of operations and power as the space lizard, he'd probably be the worse villain of the two if you ask me.

You know, I don't think they mention it again. I know they revived everyone killed by KP and his sons, but it's never actually stated if the limbo system was destroyed.
However, we DO know that it's not a thing by Cell Saga, as everyone that Junior kills by then and onward goes to actual Hell instead of limbo. Like Gero.

Before too long, you're flying over a barren wasteland filled with little more than compacted ice and snow. The freezing temperatures bring back unpleasant memories of what was once your home, so you accelerate your flight in order to minimize your stay here. Flying back and forth across the tundra, you end up wasting at least an hour trying to find the blasted tower, the only thing of note anywhere out here being a tiny and insignificant village.

That is, until a stirring snowstorm blows some ice around something invisible even to your eyes a few miles out from said village...even knowing it was likely to be magically shielded from sight didn't seem to aid you in finding it, frustratingly enough. But now that you have a clue, you fly over to the area of the strange occurrence, glancing about curiously.

As soon as you cross an unknown threshold, the tower suddenly comes into view, shimmering to life as though it was always there. You smirk confidently to yourself, and come to a landing right outside of the tower, shrinking yourself down in the process so as to not overly intimidate the wizard before you get what you want. You knock thrice upon the door, and hear some muffled shouting on the other side, from deeper within the tower.

After a minute and quite a few locks being undone, the door opens to reveal the tower's owner, dressed in a most peculiar fashion and standing only about waist high even in your reduced form. You're taken a little off guard by it, to be honest, as you were expecting a taller and more imposing figure...

"Oh my, I simply was not expecting visitors today! Can I help you, traveler?" The wizard asks, and you fight to suppress your malicious grin in favor of trying to put on a polite smile. Getting what you want would require tact...

"I'm hoping so. I've been looking for a renowned wizard that's said to live in this area. Is that you?" You ask, subtly manoeuvring your foot to the edge of the doorway in case he tries to close it on you.

"Ah, indeed, indeed! I am the Great Wizard Nahl Ife!" He introduces himself, flourishing to give a bow. Faster than he could possibly see or react to, your hand swipes out, taking his jaw with it. For the first few seconds he doesn't react whatsoever, your movement so clean and quick that his nerves don't register what happened...but when he does realize, he gurgles out a scream in a sudden panic. The look in his eyes is one of fear, and it asks the question of why you did it.

"Nahl Ife, say your name!" You proclaim, holding out the gourd and removing the stopper from it. The look in his eyes show even greater panic as he seems to recognize what you hold, but with his mouth completely destroyed, he's unable to do as requested...and within a few seconds, the gourd releases a pink mist that sweeps out over his form. He screams and struggles as it draws him into the mouth of the gourd, all while you cackle victoriously. You would not drink it yet...it would be your surprise.

Now that you had the wizard's power waiting for your consumption, you afford yourself some time to look about the contents of his tower. Within it are a great number of reagents, rare items, a plethora of various crystals of all kinds, and an entire library that takes up one of the floors. It would take you years to go through all of it, time which you regretfully don't have at the moment...but this tower now belongs to you, so you at least have something to look forward to once you eliminate the heroes that will come gunning for you soon. Still...searching for just a few more hours wouldn't hurt, in case you can uncover something that can help you in the short-term.

Unfortunately, beyond finding the command word for the ring fitted as the base of the tower, your cursory search produces little else of immediate value - certainly, they would be exceedingly useful were you to take your time enchanting things or creating potions, but such things would take weeks to create anything worthwhile. You scowl silently to yourself as you find yourself standing outside of the tower, wrapping the entire structure in your Telekinesis in order to support it while you command the ring to grow even larger than normal. The ring expands, ripping itself away from the foundation of the tower without toppling it thanks to your technique, and you shift to have your mind grab hold of the ring and lift it overhead before you shrink it down to a size fit for your finger.

Donning your new ring, you turn over your hand a few times while examining it, and glance down to the fairy trapped at your hip. "Give me your honest opinion." You ask her, snaking a finger between the bars to pop the gag out of her mouth. She rubs at her jaw, sore from having been gagged for so long, before answering.

"It's not for you..." She timidly says, to which you frown. Though, you can't say she's wrong...

"Hm...you might be right." You sigh out, shaking your head. "A ring this bare is hardly fit for a king. Perhaps I'll try to use it as something else in the future..." You comment, thinking about the kind of regalia you might one day wear. You don't want to get TOO gaudy with it, after all, you still want to cut an intimidating figure! Damned time constraints.

"Maybe a necklace?" She suggests, which has you rubbing your chin. Now there's a thought...and it would protect your neck, when it came down to it. You smile and remove the ring from your finger, expanding it to fit it over your head, and then shrinking it to fit slightly loose around your neck. It looks considerably better there, in your opinion.

"I may just keep you around once I kill all of your friends." You remark, causing the Fairy's wings to droop at the thought. You roll your eyes at her melodramatic behaviour, and leap up into the air to take flight once more. With the sun's warm rays on your back, you're thankful that you're back in tropical skies now. You got out of the tundra as fast as you possible could, and now you're hoving over a collection of various islands off the mainland's southern coast. You're not entirely certain which one Papaya Island is, but you don't need to be COMPLETELY certain - all you need to do is to draw the dragon out of the seas.

With that in mind, while hovering a few hundred feet above the water, you begin collecting your ki into both of your palms as you hold them out. Once you feel a sufficient amount has been charged, you fling one down between a set of islands, and the other a few miles off of it. Both impact the sea with incredible force before they swell up, the light they cast visible even through the water once they do, and when they finally 'pop' into a vigorous explosion...the very sea seems to part.

Spreading from each impact zone are two massive tidal waves, which wash over the various islands before the people living upon them likely even have a chance to react. Steam and foam rise from the sea as it rushes back into the void you created, and you're left watching the massive walls of water you created for a few seconds, as nothing else seems to be there TO watch...

Soon enough, however, you can see a dark shape darting through the waters towards your position. A serpentine azure dragon breaks the surface of the water gracefully, twisting through the air until it circles around you a few times over - even if you'd been giant at the time, the thing would have been about three times your height in length. You're hardly impressed, as the power contained within it is far more important, and what you sense emanating from it isn't terribly concerning. It's perhaps about as strong as Honta himself is right now, outside of tapping into that monstrous potential of his.

"Terrible one, why have you disturbed my slumber?" The dragon speaks up, surprising you with its ability to do so. You give an amused smirk back at it.

"I have come to defeat you and claim a prize, little worm." You reply back with minor dig to get under its skin. It doesn't seem to have worked at all though, as the Dragon seems entirely unconcerned with the insult.

"And what prize would you claim from me, would-be warrior?" It asks in return, eyes focused squarely on you. Your smile grows a little bit wider at the question.

"Your name!" You proclaim, feeling a building anticipation. Oh yes, this prize would solidify your place for eternity, you only need the fool to accept it...

"Very well. If you can defeat me in battle, I shall surrender my name to you. And should you fall, I shall claim yours forevermore!" The beast replies, causing you to raise your eyebrows in confusion. You can't think too much on it for long, however, as the dragon immediately tries to constrict its bulky form down around you like a massive snake.
>>
From there on, the battle devolved into a brawl between two forces of nature. There was no skill or elegance involved, just raw might being thrown between the two of you - and while you normally would have held a sizeable advantage, the sheer size of your enemy meant that you actually had to PROTECT the damn fairy you promised no harm would come to! She was the only thing buying you time, and you're certain that the instant anything happened to her, those heroes would fall upon your head.

You would have liked to say that the battle was concluded quite swiftly, but the truth is exactly the opposite, as for several hours you threw titanic blows against nigh-invulnerable scales while turning aside fangs the size of your torso threatening to pierce into you. The beast's resilience and stamina was on an entirely different level, and the more you fought it the hungrier you grew for its power...

As the sun began to rise on the horizon once more, signalling the end of the night, your chest heaved with a bit of exertion. You'd scored grievous wounds across the beast, and broken more than a few of its teeth by now, so you're certain that the end is approaching. You're just waiting for the perfect opportunity to do so, as you can't afford to go TOO far and outright slay the thing before learning its name. As you see one such opportunity open up, you feel a sudden pang in your heart.

Three of your children...just died? That was impossible! Your children were invincible compared to everyone else on this backwater planet! Having missed your chance, you dodge another diving blow from the Dragon, before you feel it once more. Another two defeated, at the same time! Th-this cannot be! How DARE someone have the audacity to kill YOUR family! Your body is filled with an insensate fury, and you know that you must bring this wrath upon the WRETCHES that opposed your sons!

You quickly charge up a ball of ki in your hand, and swing out at the dragon's belly right as it passes by. The orb explodes on contact with it, sending it sailing far into the distance from the force - but not damaging it much, unfortunately, due to the scales in that area still being intact. "BEGONE! I have fools to kill elsewhere! We shall continue this battle at another time!" You yell out, before shooting off into the sky yourself, towards where you felt your sons disappear. More and more of them seem to be getting killed by the minute...

-= HONTA'S PERSPECTIVE, 8 HOURS AGO =-
You find yourself staring face to face with someone unfortunately familiar to you, though you haven't seen them for a few years. He's scowling back at you, and a halo hovers just above his head. His energy feels considerably different than it did when he was alive, and...reduced, somehow, even though it's about as strong as it should be. You can't quite place why that is.

"Allow me to get this straight. You will free me from my prison and allow me to go through reincarnation if I complete the brat's training?" Garlic inquires, turning his gaze from you over to Kami, who nods.

"That is correct." Kami replies.

"I refuse." Garlic says, rage smoldering in his eyes. Kami sighs out, seeming to have expected this.

"Very well." Kami says, raising his hands and starting to exert his magic power again.

"W-wait a minute!" Garlic cries out, causing Kami to raise an eyebrow and pause what he was doing. "I simply mean that the reward is not enough! Haven't you ever heard of haggling?" He frantically asks, waving his hands around.

"Yes. I don't care for it." Kami replies, before furrowing his brow. "What would you accept for the task?" He asks.

"Resurrect me, perhaps?" Garlic suggests, hopeful. Kami immediately shakes his head. "Alright, fine! You're asking a lot from me, but...how about you put in a good word for me down there. My crimes are hardly worth what they'd put me through, so I at least want a more lenient sentence from the pencil pushers in the otherworld." He suggests. Kami seems to think it over for a few seconds, before nodding.

"I can accept these terms. You shall train Honta for as long as he can tolerate, and in return you will get a greatly reduced sentence." He says, offering his hand to his former pupil. The two shake hands, and you can sense a great amount of lifeforce transferring from Kami into Garlic, solidifying his otherwise ethereal form. Kami sighs out in utter weariness, looking as though he'd aged a full year in just a few seconds...

Garlic flexes his muscles for a few seconds, grinning malevolently. For a second, you expect him to do something, before he catches your attentive look and frowns. He jerks his head towards the door to the time chamber, frowning.

"Let's get a move on already. I only have a year's worth of lifeforce in me, so we can't waste time. Wouldn't be a damn point to trying to do as I please if I'll just keel over dead the second I do something..." He says, revealing his purpose for not rampaging as you know he desperately wishes to. Whatever Kami told him he'd be punished with in hell must be REALLY unpleasant, if he'd stoop to working with his killers just to avoid it...

The two of you enter the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, looking out upon an endless white expanse of nothingness. The sight is otherworldly and strange, and takes your breath away with how strange it is.

That building would prove to be your home for the next 124 days. Your refuge as well, as it turns out, because everywhere outside of the time chamber's humble hut was unpredictable at best, and outright hostile at worst. Temperatures would be blistering hot one moment and freezing cold the next, galeforce winds would randomly appear and disappear, the very air would be so thin that breathing provided nearly no benefit and then so thick that the air pressure formed bruises all across your skins and made your lungs feel like they would pop.

And every day, Garlic would push you to move further and further from the shelter, driving you deeper into even worse conditions in order to forge your body and mind even more than they've already been. Your training at Yunzabit Heights came in handy here, and you can honestly say you got more use out of your 'Climate Cloak' technique than anything else in your stay. If you hadn't learned such, you doubt you would have lasted even half as long as you did in these conditions...

Garlic himself was an even more demanding teacher than he was before, now that he no longer had a facade to hold him back. He accepted nothing less than perfection from you, which was exceptionally difficult to achieve in the harsh conditions of the time chamber. You could tell he wanted to punish you personally for each failure - and likely out of revenge as well - but his limited store of energy meant he couldn't afford to waste a single drop of energy. The only time he called upon the life force given to him was when he needed to demonstrate techniques to you, and outside of that he stuck to forcing you to memorize countless theories in order to complete your education.

He showed no interest in socializing with you whatsoever outside of what was required of him, his grudge against you remaining strong for the entire duration of his stay. You'd quietly been hoping to soften that evil heart of his, but his mind seemed absolutely set on hating you for thwarting his ambitions. Whenever you did try to interact with him on a more casual basis, he was quick to threaten your life - and if you pushed beyond that, he'd begin to tremble with barely contained rage...you didn't want to push him too far, so you never went beyond that.

On one of your final days, when the rigors of the chamber were finally starting to get to you from the accumulated stress and weariness, Garlic approached you about his final lesson: A ritual that all of his people conduct. One which would tie your own power to the movement of celestial bodies, so that you may grow as they do, and wane when they do. The rarer such an event is, the greater your power should be at its height. You considered your options carefully...

Makyan Sorcery (Mid-level) -> Mastered. Magic Materialization, Sealed Light Beam, Mist of Darkness, DEAD ZONE learned. Body 4 -> 5.

Sunchads rise up. Not a significant boost usually, but hey, every bit helps. Doesn't come with sunscreen, but since when did anyone get sunburned in Dragonball? Writing.
>>
Ultimately, you had chosen the most reliable heavenly structure you could think of: The sun. Outside of fairly rare circumstances, it should grant you a small yet steady supply of additional power throughout your days, only receding by night-time when you'd normally be sleeping anyway. The ritual itself was deceptively simple in that all it needed was a sacrificial offering of your own blood, an icon representative of what you would be binding your power to, and the casting of a spell specific to you and that object...but the complexity of the spell itself was not one to be undersold. It was utterly unique to the individual, and tied into virtually every principle that Garlic had taught you up until now - even Life Alteration, as you were fundamentally changing your body in an admittedly esoteric way you'd find difficult to explain to anyone without similar training.

Once the ritual was complete, you admittedly didn't feel any different, but Garlic was quick to point out that you were currently in an entirely different dimension from the sun - you wouldn't notice anything until you stepped back outside. Knowing that made it just a bit harder to continue in the unforgiving chamber, eager to see the effects as you were...and so, on the 124th day, you finally decided to step back out of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, returning to Earth.

As Garlic promised, the moment you set foot back on the lookout, you felt invigorated. Your ki swelled just a bit as your muscles expanded slightly, your senses grew just a touch sharper than they already were, and your pool of magic power felt a touch deeper. You're sure that the effect would grow with time, as it only appeared to be dawn based on the color of the distant sky, but it still felt incredible - better than any coffee or tea. You're not certain you would call it the ULTIMATE pick-me-up, but it definitely beat anything of mundane origin...and more importantly, it made you feel a bit of pride in yourself for actually being able to successfully craft such a spell for yourself.

Getting a quick feel for everyone's energy, you can see that the majority are still waiting out on the lookout's edge, though you're unsure if they're in the exact same spot or not - it's been about 8 hours for them, after all. You can at least feel your Piccolo's energy in one of the meditation chambers. Walking out of the cover of the building, with Garlic in tow, you're greeted by the site of Kami and Harum watching the world down below with a tense worry, while Barbar seems to be laying down unconscious with a bruise on his neck, though one of them seems to have supplied him with a pillow and blanket. An accident, or did something happen?

"Hey guys, I'm back. What happened to Barbar?" You ask, causing the two to turn towards you with expressions of mixed despair and relief. Quite the complex mix there...
>>
"I rendered him unconscious to stop him from going to his death. He watched Piccolo's evil half slaughter his people just a few hours ago..." Kami explains to you, filling you with dread. A tight knot develops in your stomach as you wonder just what the other Piccolo did while you were training.

"I...I see...I don't think I would have been able to hold back, either. What has he been doing down there?" You ask with regret. You wonder if you could have stopped that if you did something different, but...no, it was impossible to predict how things would have gone back then.

Kami lays his right hand upon your head, expression turning stoic, and you can feel his ki flow into you. Through such, his mind touches your mind, and you start to experience his memories of the atrocities he witnessed the newly-declared King Piccolo commit - down to every last, gruesome detail. The callousness, the loss of life, the disgusting and perverse pleasure he feels at doing this...

How could Piccolo DO something like this, even just a part of him?! You're almost in disbelief, thinking that this monster came from someone you called a friend. You start to wonder if you can even call him a friend anymore, only...he didn't expect this to happen at all, did he? He was just trying to become a better person, genuinely believing that this was the only way he could change his nature. There was no way he could have known that their lives would be linked, as he clearly expected to be able to eliminate his evil half right then and there. Can you really say that you wouldn't have done the same in his shoes?

You push the conflicting emotions in your heart down, frowning deeply once Kami's hand lowers. Your fists clench hard enough to shake, anger starting to well up to replace it, but you keep a tight reign on it for now.

"I can't believe this! How are we supposed to weight three whole days? Look at how much he's done in only eight hours! This monster needs to be stopped!" You say, taking a moment to focus on Piccolo's energy with your Far-Seeing arts. Empowered by the lookout, it's exceptionally easy to home in on the demon wearing Piccolo's skin, and...oh no. You know exactly where he's heading now - in no time at all, he'll be arriving at Mutaito's! Shifting your view, you can even see Mutaito and his students struggling to kill off Piccolo's demonic spawn, human and spawn alike laying dead and dismembered!

"There is nothing we can do, unless you wish to kill the other half. I am certain he would choose not to resist. His evil half's doings have been weighing on his heart heavily..." Kami states gravely.

"A-And if we go down there, he'll just kill Azalea! I'm not sure why he hasn't yet, to be honest, but...I don't know, it's a hard choice to make!" Harum joins in, a painfully torn expression on his face.

"Actually, I believe I have a solution far superior to those pathetic ideas." Garlic pipes up, stepping forward and cracking his knuckles. What...?
>>
"It's quite simple. He's only looking for your energies. He won't be looking for mine, and I'm skilled enough to suppress my energy until I'm close enough to strike. But, more than that...I can hide all of your energies as well, completely and without fail. You already know how, Honta - I just need to use the Sealed Light Beam on you. I can take you in with me, and release you right next to him. After that, our combined powers should be more than sufficient to handle him." Garlic explains. You furrow your brow as you go over the details in your head, and you know that he's right - if done exactly as said, it would be a flawless way to take Piccolo by surprise and stop him from rampaging any further.

"That's true, but...why would you be willing to do that?" You ask, suspicious of Garlic's motives. He smirks back at you smugly.

"It's simple...because you'll pay the price for it. I want a BODY in the afterlife. I won't be some disembodied spirit the entire time I'm there, oh no...you'll set me up with a body, or you'll watch the jolly green giant kill hundreds of thousands more over the remaining three days." Garlic gives his ultimatum, setting you on edge. A body...what could he do with that? Is it just for comfort, or is he planning something? Can you even trust that he'd let you out down there...?

"Why didn't you offer to do this before?" You ask, probing a bit further. But it seems he has an answer for everything.

"I couldn't have. Kami only breathed some life into me after I agreed to train you, and before then it would have been completely impossible. Besides, even now, I wouldn't be a reliable fighter capable of trapping King Piccolo on my own - someone else would need to be capable of supplementing the Sealed Light Beam to handle him. I wouldn't really recommend opening a portal to the Dead Zone, as...well, that could trap EVERYONE present, not just him. And being a disembodied spirit trapped there would truly put a damper on things." He replies. Your faces scrunches up in concentration as you consider the options given to you...

>Kami's Suggestion - Kill Good Piccolo, to take Evil Piccolo's life at the same time. (VERY high consequences, but...no fight.)
>Wait the full 3 days, you just can't risk it...

He's BARELY a friend and his reckless actions and sinister half have endangered Azalea and led to several massacres and at least one genocide, plus the creation of a tiny torture dimension. Begrudgingly, you find yourself nodding toward Garlic after some heavy contemplation. "If Kami will accept that deal, then we'll go with your plan. I...I can't just sit back and wait, but neither can I kill a friend. You're the only option left..." You say. Garlic turns to look at Kami, whose face twitches once or twice as he too considers the weight of the offer...before Kami nods.

"I accept your terms. It would be...an acceptable way to make up for what you did, for you to play a role in saving the world from another would-be tyrant. As much as I loathe to say it, it would be a heroic action were it not one committed for self-interest." Kami states, Garlic smiling in a sharp-toothed grin upon hearing it.

"Most excellent to hear, FORMER master...now, let's stop wasting time with all this pointless chatter." Garlic says, stepping back a few feet from you.

He thrusts his arms out towards you with his wrists held together and palms fanned out, exactly as needed for the spell, and you can sense the magical power flowing through him. Soft rings of light start to emit from his hands, and while you could likely dodge it if you needed to, you allowed them to wash over you without resisting despite your every instinct telling you to do otherwise. You feel your power growing weaker and weaker as the magic takes hold of you, and the world around you appears to grow larger when in reality you're shrinking. You'd probably be more freaked out to experience this if you hadn't had a similar time of it with Azalea's size-altering magic, not to mention that one time you visited a Fairy Ring.

Soon enough, a transparent shell appears around you, marking the point of no return - even if you were to throw everything you had against it, you wouldn't so much as cause a crack. The world looks distorted and magnified outside of it to you, and you can see Garlic grinning down into the orb maliciously...before the look fades as Kami taps him on the shoulder, and gestures to the planet down below. Garlic growls in frustration, and soon you're tucked into the simulacrum of clothing that Garlic's spirit wears, no longer able to view the outside world. A sudden lurch tells you that he's on the move now.

It's a bit nauseating to feel high-speed movement without being able to see anything, especially with a few especially unpleasant jostles. Part of you is wondering if this was a mistake, especially after a full minute's flight. Is he actually heading towards Piccolo? If he is, how do you know he won't join sides with him? Your worry grows and grows, before you come to an abrupt stop.

"Well well well, if it isn't my old nemesis..." You suddenly hear Garlic saying, fear running through you for a moment. He's engaging Piccolo openly?!

"What- you?! Are you the one that's been killing off my children? How did you even escape your confinement?" Piccolo accuses Garlic immediately, voice dripping with barely contained rage.

In response, Garlic initially begins laughing, before you feel him shift in some kind of a physical gesture.

"Me? As much as I wish that it were...no, it's not my doing. I'm merely here to thank you, 'King' Piccolo." Garlic says, voice dripping with sarcasm when mentioning this Piccolo's newest title. "After all, were it not for you, I would not have been freed. Do you recall punching a certain ape through a building...?" He continues, making you realize the ploy. It's clever, you'll give him that much!

"An ape- Harum? Damn! You were released during the fight! I should have been more careful. Now I'll have to eradicate you too." Piccolo replies, and you can hear the humm of energy being charged up. Things get a little hectic over the next twenty seconds, and you can tell that attacks are being thrown towards one another as the two fighters get physical for a brief moment, which...honestly feels terrible, because it throws you around all over the place within your temporary prison.

"I'm not here to fight you, fool. In truth, I like what you've done with the place since you took over - it's infinitely better than what you would have done before your delightful change. In fact, seeing how easily you've dealt with everything the humans have thrown your way, I no longer desire to conquer this world as I once did. My sights are set elsewhere, just as soon as I find a way to bring myself back to life." Garlic manages to say during a moment when the two were in a direct struggle of strength, and after a few seconds it seems like Piccolo accepts his reasoning and backs off.

"...Just don't get in my way, and we won't have any problems. I won't hesitate to destroy your soul entirely if you interfere with my plans." Piccolo warns his rival, and you can imagine the smug grin that Garlic no doubt gave him.

"Of course now. In fact, how about we scratch each other's backs? I'll help you deal with the fools that killed me, if you'll help bring me back to life somehow." Garlic suggests. Wait, that wasn't part of the plan!

"Hoh? An alliance...bold of you to believe that one as powerful as I would need such a thing." Piccolo scoffs. After a brief moment of contemplation after the fact, though, he seems to change his mind. "As long as you keep my other half alive, then that agreement works fine for me." He says. You can feel Garlic step forward, likely offering a hand, and the two seem to shake on it.

In that moment, you can feel Garlic's hand snaking around you, and with a simple flex he crushes the orb containing you! The magic keeping you shrunk fails in an instant, your fully sized form appearing RIGHT next to King Piccolo! Piccolo's eyes widen in shock, and you can see a vicious grin now forming on Garlic's face. Garlic reaches out to try to physically seize Piccolo, and your eyes are drawn to the caged Azalea at the king's waist! If there's a chance to save her, it's NOW!

Garlic's iron grip is quick to close around Piccolo's wrist, and with one sharp tug he pulls him forward only to wrap his comparatively larger arms around your enemy's torso, trapping Piccolo's arms at his sides. Your own hand slices through the air as you channel your energy into your claws and extending them into glowing blue tips, and the mundane metal composing Azalea's cage is torn through like it was made of tissue paper. She's quick to fly out of her prison, going right up to your neck and hugging it as tightly as she can with her comparatively little body, but you can't focus on that now.

Piccolo struggles to free himself, and right as you feel his energy swelling in preparation for an explosive burst similar to the one that freed him on the Lookout, you twist to gain some quick momentum and leap up, slamming your shin directly into the side of his head as hard as you can manage. It works spectacularly in momentarily stunning him, his eyes going unfocused briefly and his collected energy dispersing harmlessly as his focus is broken. Garlic follows up on your attack by bringing his knee up in one sharp motion and driving it right into Piccolo's spine, causing him to cry out in pain.

As you're about to capitalize on his captured state to try to use the Sealed Light Beam, however, you feel a much quicker and sharper rise in Piccolo's power, his body swelling up. Garlic's hold is forced apart as Piccolo grows absolutely massive in size in the span of just a few seconds, the King growling out something incomprehensible to you under his breath as he does so - perhaps some kind of swear in his native language. You can see a deep fury and hatred in Piccolo's eyes that you've never seen on anyone else before.

"I'll make a special kind of hell just for you two!" He roars out, charging up energy blasts in both hands. He flings a destructive orb at both of you, but you and your former master are both too quick for such, Garlic flipping out of the way of his while you actually coat your leg in energy and kick the blast sent towards you up into the sky, where it detonates harmlessly. The one that had been meant for Garlic tears into the concrete below, detonating underground and causing a rush of water to pop nearby sewer grates off and send them rocketing off.

"Oh, please! Do you really think a half-rate fighter like you stands a chance against us? I'm going to enjoy torturing you before we seal you away for eternity. You're nothing in your current pitiful state!" Garlic taunts him back, while your eyes look around Piccolo's form. The Gourd is at his other hip, currently unused but containing an unfortunate mage's power. He's likely to use it soon, put on the back foot as he is. That ring around his neck is indestructible, and he's liable to use it to protect himself if you try to throw powerful enough attacks his way. He's far too large to restrain conventionally right now, and your Sealing technique is slow...

This'll be rough.
>>
>Get the Gourd away from him, you can't risk him getting even more powerful right now.
>Taunt him into drinking from the Gourd. He'll get more powerful, but...so will your Piccolo, and he'd make a big difference if you could get him down here with you.
>Use your magic to become a nuisance to him, allowing Garlic to attack him and whittle down his stamina until he can't maintain that giant form!
>Double down on attacking him with Garlic, together you should be able to put him on the back foot enough that he can't fight back!

Azalea detaches herself from your neck, now recognizing that perhaps it's not the best time for an enthusiastic reunion, and quickly makes some distance from the demon that had trapped her. Your eyes flicker up from the Gourd to King Piccolo's face, and the snarl on it tells you that you don't have any more time to think. His massive body begins to move, seemingly not slowed down even the slightest bit by his new size.

A massive fist slams down towards you, and you barely manage to dive out of the way in time. Piccolo's fist rips straight through the street and buries his arm elbow-deep, though he's quick to extract it. Garlic takes advantage of Piccolo's focus on you, concentrating his energy into his body to cause his power and muscles to swell like he once did against Kami, once more adopting his fully-powered form now that things are heating up.

Piccolo is quick to notice, however, shifting his focus over to Garlic and unleashing two rather large eye-beams that seem to have scaled with Piccolo's new size. Garlic retaliates similarly, gathering energy behind his own eyes and firing them right into Piccolo's beams, the four strands of energy battling for dominance against one another for a few seconds. You break the stalemate by charging up and firing a bolt of Flash Lightning right into Piccolo's unmissably huge chest, causing him to cry out in momentary pain and make an involuntary blink for just long enough that Garlic's attack dominates Piccolo's and hit him straight in the eyelids, no doubt searing at least a little bit through to damage his eyesight.

"DAMN IT ALL! You miserable insects should just DIE already!" King Piccolo growls out, before his throat momentarily bulges. In an instant, he opens his mouth wide and unleashes a wide beam of destruction from his mouth, swiping it blindly across the landscape in a bid to hit one of you. You and Garlic both are forced to make evasive maneuvers for a dozen tense seconds, Piccolo clearly tracking your movements by sound to keep the pressure up on you, before the beam ends and King Piccolo pants heavily for a few moments.

He opens his eyes back up, snarling viciously, and you can see that already the wounds that Garlic dealt him are starting to heal up! His eyes still look a little cloudy, but they're improving by the second from the looks of it. That would explain why some of his energy is still concentrating behind them - he's accelerating the process no doubt.

King Piccolo's ears twitch for a moment, and his head snaps over to something else other than the two fighters before him. You follow his gaze, only to see that his attention is now drawn to Azalea! He brings one of his hands up towards her, bracing it with his other hand, and fires off a POTENT blast of energy right towards her! You move as fast as you possibly can, flying into a direct interception of the blast and catching it in both hands! Unlike before, this time you shift slightly underneath it and push up, HARD!
>>
With what feels like a monumental amount of force needed, you manage to redirect it more towards the sky! You can't avoid it crashing right into a skyscraper and passing through it, but besides that one obstacle it seems to head high into the sky before it actually detonates. Unharmed, you still huff from the momentary exertion, and turn your gaze back to King Piccolo.

"Did you forget? Your fight is with me! Stop being a coward and fight me like a warrior!" You demand of him, your anger starting to grow once again.

"Haaah...easy words from someone with backup, don't you think? A true warrior would fight me one on one!" King Piccolo taunts you right back, prickling your pride somewhat. You're not the kind of fool that would submit to such goading, however - you're not here to satisfy your ego, you're here to stop a madman from destroying everything you hold dear. As such, your only response to him is to scoff, and spit on the ground before you widen your stance once more.

Though you had wanted to take the Gourd from him as soon as possible, his attacks were far too aggressive for you to actually get in close enough for the opportunity to do so yet. On the bright side, Garlic did manage to deplete his energy considerably by both wounding him and spurring on that momentary rampage, so you may find a better chance for it right now. You dash forward, collecting all of your energy into your legs to bolster your movement as much as possible!

Family Man - If someone you consider family is endangered, double your highest roll!

As you may recall, he was on his way to kill the people that dared to protect themselves from his children when Garlic and you interrupted him. Some of them are still alive and fighting Mutaito and his students, and he still wants to go help them.
At the end of the day, even a man of pure evil can love his children. He gets incredibly upset at their deaths in canon.
>>
>>5717249
>>5717259
Makes sense. Junior got redeemed through raising a child, and a part of Piccolo's evilness came about because of loneliness and ostracization.
>>
You dash forward with all of your might, accelerating even further by projecting your ki behind you much like you would with flight. Debris from the destroyed street are sent scattering in your wake, and you crack the asphalt even more with every step you take in your sprint. Before any normal person could even blink, you're upon King Piccolo, hand outstretched and only inches away from grabbing the gourd...

Before you can actually make contact with the gourd, Piccolo's massive hand wraps around your arm with an iron grip. With one harsh tug, he lifts your entire body up, and with another he slams you down into the ground hard enough that it feels like your ribs are going to crack and that your arm might pull out of its socket. He pulls you back up to go for a second one, but you exert your magic power quick enough to avoid it by turning intangible for a split second, just long enough for you to slip out of his grip.

Garlic is quick to draw his attention back away, leaping up and smashing his meaty fist into the even larger man's jaw. With Piccolo's attention briefly divided, you slide your hands into the familiar claws you made long ago and immediately start to circulate your ki through them. With a brilliantly bright blue glow, you lash out at the fist that previously trapped you, scoring large wounds across the tendons specifically to delay his ability to grab you again and earning another cry of pain from him.

"Damn it, DAMN IT! I'm running out of time! If you won't let me go to punish those who would oppose my children...THEN I'LL JUST DESTROY EVERYTHING HERE!" King Piccolo screams out in frustration. His energy SKYROCKETS suddenly as his desperation allows him to pull from his untapped depths, an invisible burst of pressure forcing both you and Garlic uncontrollably flying through the air away from him. Your enemy raises both of his hands high into the air, gathering an orb of crackling destructive energy into them at alarming speed...

"Samoler Pliz!" Azalea shouts out near you, all of a sudden, pointing a finger directly at King Piccolo. It's a phrase you feel like you've heard somewhere before, but you can't quite put your finger on it, until you see the effect it has: The golden ring currently sitting around the tyrant's neck shrinks rapidly, constricting around his throat powerfully! Piccolo immediately loses focus on the attack he was preparing, looking alarmed at the sudden choking and finding himself desperately trying to pry it off with no avail with his arms.

The perfect opportunity now in front of you, you once more make a move to rush forward...and this time, with one smooth motion, you cut the Gourd free and steal it away from him, tucked safely under your arm instead. You can't believe Azalea actually set him up the whole time with that!

"L-LARUGER PLIZ!" Piccolo manages to hack out in the midst of his asphyxiation, breathing in gulps of fresh air as soon as the ring enlarges again.
>>
He's quick to remove it from around his neck, unfortunately depriving you of another tool to use against him. His eyes are bloodshot, his chest is heaving, and his emotions have clearly run wild at this point. He resembles a cornered animal to you, now...and cornered animals always fight the hardest, in your experience. You hope he doesn't have any more tricks up his sleeve, as he's proven to be an incredibly wily opponent so far.

Even though drinking people is extremely gay and evil, I'm not sure is smashing the gourd is an option or if it will release the stolen energy harmlessly, and I don't want to give KP a chance to snatch it back with Extendo Arms or some shit if it goes unused. IF the gourd could be broken, I'd smash it. Soul eating is not for our boy Honta, but these are desperate, unfortunate times
>>
>>5717745
Well, it's not exactly soul eating. The Wizard was essentially dead as soon as he finished dissolving into water over several hours, and his soul is waiting where all of Piccolo's victims wait. The water that's in there is just an extraction of all the power he held in life.

"Azalea, drink this!" You shout, popping the cork keeping the Gourd sealed with your thumb. With one quick motion, you splash the water out towards her, and she perks up immediately towards you. With practiced precision, she exerts her magic power over the elements to seize control over the water midair, funnelling it directly towards her mouth all while Piccolo's eyes practically bulge out of their sockets at seeing his would-be powerup being utilized by his enemies of all people.

King Piccolo's hand shoots out, and you can tell by the way his ki flows that he's going to try to use his telekinetic power to wrest control away from Azalea, but you call down a bolt of lightning from the heavens themselves thanks to the Sandakoru you were able to set up with all of the excess ki you've been releasing during the fight. It strikes him head-on, electricity dancing around his body as his eyes momentarily go white from the sheer strength of the bolt.

As soon as Azalea finishes imbibing the potent waters of the Gourd, she begins to glow brighter and brighter, until all three of you are forced to shield your eyes from the radiance. It lasts for a few seconds, and when it finally dies back down you see that Azalea...has grown! By a truly significant margin, as she's now around two feet tall rather than just a few inches! The magical power flowing from her is insane, but that's hardly the only thing you can sense - her baseline ki, which was negligible at best before, has also grown by an incredible amount. You're uncertain about the source of this wellspring of ki, as the Wizard himself didn't seem physically powerful...did King Piccolo trap anyone other than the wizard in there, or did the gourd already have water in it before he got it?

These questions are clearly ones that can wait for later, you reason, and you turn your focus back to the furious looking monarch. You call down the rest of your bolts of divine lightning in rapid succession, each one of them hitting him and driving him further down to his knees with a power that causes his every muscle to spasm uncontrollably, while Azalea directs her hands towards the clouds you're using and pumps her magic into them to imbue the lightning storms with even more crackling energy. After a dozen strikes, each of them deafeningly loud and capable of bursting eardrums, you look over to Garlic and nod at him - the signal to begin the final stage of your plan.

In unison, you and Garlic thrust your hands out, focusing your energy as one. Rings of luminous light emanate from both of you, while Piccolo is far too stunned and wounded to even consider moving out of the way. They wrap around his form and settle into a bright glow around him, and his power begins to plummet as your combined magic efforts shrink him rapidly. After a few tense seconds, the magic finally solidifies into a solid form around him - an orb much larger than what you're used to with this technique, being the size of your head.

>Super Azalea is a shortstack
Based.

You marvel at your work for a few seconds, the crystal being far thicker than you'd thought possible. You can see a slightly distorted image of King Piccolo within it, shouting something you cannot hear and banging furiously yet ineffectually against the walls of his prison. You're overcome with a sense of relief, the weight of the world lifted from your shoulders now that you've saved countless people from the embodiment of evil now held in your hands.

It is only thanks to your keen senses and the current target of your gaze that you catch the reflection of one of Piccolo's children, flying in from behind you rapidly with next to no detectable energy signature - no doubt trying to hide its presence in order to steal its father away. You whip around and once more channel ki through your claws, bisecting Piccolo's spawn from head to tail with the same ease as cutting through butter with a hot knife. The two halves fall out of the air and hit the ground on either side of you, a look of shock and surprise permanently etched into the fiend's face.

You expand your senses out towards Mutaito and his students to see how they're faring, only to find that they seem to have wrapped up at around the same time you did - the last of the underling's ki vanishes, and it seems that other than your old master, only two other ki signatures are left...based on how powerful they are and the familiar feel they have, you would wager a guess that it's Roshi and Shen who survived the onslaught with him. Your heart feels heavy, knowing that all of the other students you trained with now lay dead, but you still have a strange sense of pride in them for having the bravery to stand up against foes greater than them and die as heroes.

You let out a sigh, gaze sweeping across the ruined city before you. It's going to take a lot of work to recover from this, that's without a doubt...but you'll do what you can to help. You glance from Azalea, in her newly-enlarged form, to the rapidly-shrinking Garlic that appears to be reverting to his normal form to preserve his remaining time.

"I know that you did it only out of self-interest, but...thank you, Garlic. I don't think we could have won without your help." You say, taking a moment to bow to your former master. Garlic's face scrunches up in distaste for a moment, and he scoffs, but you could swear you saw the beginnings of one of those smug smirks of his just before he did so.

"You could have won at any time, all you had to do was kill the other one like Kami suggested. I suppose you lost your edge after all of those years training to be a Guardian...it's quite a shame, really. You could have been my greatest warrior by far if you hadn't betrayed me." Garlic replies.

"You betrayed Earth, Garlic. And when it comes down to it, I'll always choose Earth. I'm sure you feel the same way about the Makyo Star, right?" You respond, looking at him seriously. He frowns at this, contemplating a few moments before nodding.

"Of course I would, but...enough about that. I have about a week of lifeforce left in me...I'm going to go enjoy it while I can. Hopefully my minions have been taking good care of the castle in my absence, I've been yearning for some of my specialty apples for quite some time..." Garlic waves the heavy subject off, clearly feeling a bit uncomfortable with being even remotely chummy with you. Still, perhaps he's not a lost cause after all...just a particularly difficult one. Did he like playing the hero, you wonder?

You watch him fly off, smirking quietly to yourself before you glance back over to Azalea.

"Hey, are you ready to head back? We should tell everyone the good news, and find a place to keep this troublemaker." You say, tossing the orb up a few feet and catching it again. Azalea perks up immediately, flying over to you and nodding her head enthusiastically.

"Yeah! I'll tell you EVERYTHING that happened on the way back, it was super scary, Honta! Oh, and you have to tell me everything that happened to you, too! I mean, working with GARLIC? How the heck did that even happen?" She says.

You fly off with her right alongside you, easily matching your speed at her current power - not that either of you go as fast as possible, now that danger is out of the way. You take your time getting back to the lookout so that you can tell each other everything that happened, even though Kami had already shared most of the details with you - apparently she had planned to pull a fast one on Piccolo with that Universal Ring the moment she knew he was going to get it, an amount of forethought and planning that you're honestly kind of amazed by. Ah...now that you think about it, the ring is probably trapped in the orb with him, since he was still holding it when you sealed him away.

Your conversation concludes right about when your feet tap the floor of the looking, where everyone is waiting for you - Kami, Harum, a recently-awakened Barbar, and Piccolo's unsealed good half. With a grin, you show them the orb containing Piccolo's evil. Piccolo steps up to you, placing a hand upon your shoulder, and surprisingly sheds a single tear despite his otherwise stoic expression.

"I made a mistake that I'll never be able to make up for. I had thought I'd be strong enough to do what needed to be done, and my pride made me blind to the possibility of all of this happening. You fought and bled for my mistakes. People died for my mistakes. I hope that you can one day forgive me for being such a fool, but I know that I'm undeserving of it. Thank you, for everything you've done..." He says, seeming much more vulnerable and tender than the Piccolo you've known for years.

"It is in the nature of mortals to make mistakes. What matters is that we learn from them, and grow." Kami advises in a sagely manner, inclining his head. "But we cannot focus on that now. We have a pressing matter to decide: how we shall deal with the remnants of Piccolo's evil nature."

>You'll launch it deep into the void of space, where it shall drift for eons. It's astronomically unlikely that anything should ever happen upon it there.

Some dumbass alien from space could accidentally unleash King Piccolo, some dumbass fodder like Pilaf could dig upon it and free him like how KP was freed from a rice cooker in someone's treasure hoard, and we could just fuck up and get robbed, starting the bullshit all over again. It's gotta go on the lookout. Can you name a villain that's ever fucked with the lookout?

A unanimous decision, I love it. Let's get to writing, boys!
>>
It wasn't something that any one person decided upon, due to the nature of just how serious the choice was. You spent a good amount of time proposing and rejecting ideas with one another, working through the possible pros and cons of every possible option that you could think of. Every idea that involved stowing it away somewhere and hoping nobody would ever find it was rejected, as Kami reasoned that malicious forces could always have some way to find it through abilities similar to Fortuneteller Baba's. You offered to keep it on yourself at all times, but this too was rejected with the idea that you are far more likely than anyone else to get into fights - fights which could break the orb, or see it stolen from you. Ultimately, the plan that went through and was approved by everyone was for the Guardian of Earth to take charge of keeping watch over it, a duty that would pass on to the next Kami once this one's time was up.

You join Kami and Piccolo in taking the crystal orb into a secluded area of the Lookout, one which held other dangerous artifacts judging on the numerous warded pedestals about it, and placed it upon one such column with them. You each poured your power into the enchantments protecting it from theft, and once your task was complete Kami saw fit to lead you elsewhere: to the entrance of a room you'd never seen before. He turns to face you both now, expression as unreadable as ever.

"It's time." He says, causing you to tilt your head in confusion. "There is no point to delaying my leave any further, and I gave the majority of my remaining lifespan to Garlic anyways. It is time for me to appoint the next Guardian of Earth, and to take my leave from this world to lay at rest with the previous Guardians." He reveals, causing your eyebrows to shoot up in surprise.

"What? Really, right now?" You ask, to which he nods.

"Yes. Piccolo, come forth." Kami commands, the green man doing as told. Piccolo seems to be sweating nervously, but he doesn't say anything yet. "You were always my strongest student, and yet the one who also made himself the most distant. The loneliness of your youth inflicted a wound upon your heart that festered uncontrollably, and wanted to lash out at those around you...but now that you have removed such impurities, you are worthy to be the next Guardian. Take up the mantle of Kami, and watch over this world in my stead. In time, you will make up for the mistakes of the past..." Kami finishes, reaching out to tap a finger against Piccolo's chest.

A crimson mote of energy flows out from Kami's chest, travelling down his arm and into Piccolo's own chest at a slow pace. You can feel nothing from the mote, neither lifeforce nor magical power, but you find your gaze transfixed upon it nonetheless. As it settles within Piccolo's heart, the symbol for Kami glows upon his chest, and settles into a permanent symbol upon his white robes after but a few seconds. With this, Kami's form fades into...nothing.
>>
Despite the fact that his physical form seems to have discorporated, you can still sense his faint presence. An impossible breeze that could not be present carries his voice, and with them, his final words to each of you.

"The world will always be in need of heroes. I ask only one more thing of you, Honta...make sure the next heroes are ready to take up your mantle, when you lay down your arms." Kami's fading voice whispers to you, before his presence vanishes entirely. You get the sense that Piccolo likely heard something different from what you did, based on the new Kami's expression.

The massive door that you're in front of briefly parts, giving you a look at what lays beyond it - an otherworldly realm flowing with lingering presences and suffused with magical power. Tombstones lay all across the ground of the room, which seems far larger than the lookout itself, and you become certain of what this place must be: the resting grounds of all of Earth's Guardians. Your glimpse is soon cut off, as the doors close themselves once more now that the former Kami's spirit has been admitted.

You turn to the new Kami, sharing a wordless moment for a bit before Piccolo inclines his head towards you.

"There is much to be done now, and I'm afraid I have little time to speak to you. The preparations that must be made will be far harder to complete without Mr. Popo's aid. I...once more, thank you for everything, Honta. Oh, and know that you are always welcome up here, on the Lookout." Piccolo states, to which you nod back.

"If anyone causes trouble, you know who to call, Piccolo." You say, which oddly causes him to wince.

"I must ask that you call me Kami, in the future. It's silly, I know, but I cannot bear to have the same name as the monster who caused so much trouble. And shedding one's former identity seems traditional for the role." Kami asks you.

"Oh, right! Sorry. Kami from now on, you got it!" You reply, flashing him one of your cheeky grins and a thumbs-up. That gets a shy sort of smile back from him, and he gestures to the staircase that brought you down here. "Out of curiosity, what do you have to do now, Kami?" You ask while ascending with him.

"Repairing the damage to the lookout takes priority, but I should be able to finish that within a few hours at most. I'll need to file paperwork requesting a new attendant, and to report everything that's happened so far. And...and...I was hoping to refine an earlier experiment of mine, something that...could right the wrongs of what I did. But to create them successfully takes monumental effort and power, power which I currently lack, so I fear I may not be capable of it for quite some time." He reveals, surprising you.

"How would it work?" You ask out of curiosity.

"By granting a wish, from an an Eternal Dragon formed of pure and refined magical power and life energy. He will be summoned by what I call...the Dragon Balls. I shall restore hope to the people..." He says.

Before I write the next update, Kami needs YOUR help to create the Dragon Balls! I want 5 of you to roll a d60 for me.

Kami takes 9 years in canon to create the Dragon Balls, and this may be your only chance to bring back everyone that was killed by King Piccolo, given the limitation of '1 year' for resurrecting the dead. Honta will try his damn hardest to help here, as will Azalea!

"Granting a wish...? You can really make something that can do that?" You ask him, getting a nod from Kami.

"Yes. In truth, I had already created a set of Dragon Balls capable of that feat, but...not only did they have a fatal flaw in their design, but they have become permanently inert since I was split from Piccolo. I checked on them not long after you entered the Time Chamber." He admits, sighing out and shaking his head.

"If it can fix the damage that happened, then I'll definitely help you make a new set! Heck, I'm sure Azalea would be willing to help, too." You say. Now it's Kami's turn to look surprised, and he gives a short laugh at that.

"I should have expected as much from you. I'll gladly accept your help once more. I'll even let you figure out how to word the wish, when the time comes. Now, let's get to work." Kami says, patting you on the back.

You took the time to help Kami restore the Lookout to its original condition that day, but more importantly you spent every noon pouring your magical power into Kami's efforts right alongside Azalea, when you knew that your own power was at its strongest. Although it didn't seem like much was happening each day, Kami was carefully cultivating the pool of magic the three of you were creating, each day filtering out any impurities that arose in the energy and ensuring it could coalesce together without issue.

After the first month and a half of effort, Kami would use this wellspring of gathered energy to materialize into existence a small stone orb, only about the size of your closed fist - if not a bit smaller. In a similar timeframe, you would repeat the process, until at the eleventh month you had everything you needed: A full set of 7 Dragon Balls. However, that was when Kami approached you with an issue, his countenance gravely serious.

"This is difficult to say, Honta, but...at our current rate, I think we may not finish on time." Kami says.

"H-Huh? What do you mean, not on time?" You ask, confused by the news.

"If we intend to return to life those who were killed by King Piccolo, then...we only have one year from the date of their deaths to do so. And this final step to complete the Dragon Balls will take 35 days to complete with the amount of energy we can muster up...it would put us just over the time limit." He admits, eyes downcast to the floor as he feels the weight of his analysis. You were too shocked to respond for a few seconds, before...

"That's AT your current rate!" A familiar voice speaks up from beside you. You practically jump, not having sensed anyone coming close at all! As your head snaps over to the source of the voice, you can see that it's none other than Yang...and Lady Baba right next to her! They must have teleported in, now that you think about it.

"Yang!" You exclaim, going to wrap her up in a bearhug. She deftly ducks under it, like she knew exactly what you were going to do and how to avoid it.

She sticks her tongue out at you impishly and then turns on her heel to face Kami, pointing her finger at him. "We're here to help fix your mess, because the Otherworld is paying us a commission on it! It's cheaper for them to have you bring back Mr. Popo than to train up and send an entirely new attendant, after all." Yang explains to the guardian, who looks quite bewildered at the unfolding events.

"Really? That's great to hear, then! But, if you don't mind me asking...why are you only showing up now, though?" He asks, getting a click of the tongue from Yang and Baba simultaneously.

"Because!" Baba says.

"Witches..." Yang follows up.

"Only show up exactly when they're needed!" The duo says in unison, clearly some kind of motto they came up with. You snort at the dorkiness, getting a glower from both of them at once that makes you flinch.

"I see...well then, let's get to work then. With any luck, your assistance should put us right under the threshold!" Kami says, clapping his hands together with a smile. Even almost a year later, you're still finding it hard to get used to Kami's new chipper attitude compared to how he used to be.

With the added help and skill of the two witches, which...ultimately ends up only being Yang due to Baba getting bored just a few days in and telling her to finish the rest, you manage to complete the final piece of the puzzle: A statue depicting the Eternal Dragon you would create. Kami clearly took inspiration from the Sea Dragon near Papaya Island from it, based on its lengthy and bewhiskered appearance - it even has similar horns, you think!

You set the seven orbs in a circle around the Dragon Statue, and Kami projected one last burst of magic into it. The stone orbs gain a translucent orange coloration, with brilliant red stars numbering one through seven appearing within each of them - and oddly enough, no matter where your position seemed to be, they were always facing you. The balls began to glow and humm strangely, until a beam of yellow light shot up into the sky.

The sky immediately grew dark, countless stormy clouds forming even as high up as the Lookout, normally an impossibility. The beam of light starts to waver and form bright flames, lightning crackling between arcs of fire, before the Eternal Dragon finally takes form. An enormous green serpent, radiating unbelievable magical power, looms overhead all of you now with its imposing and intimidating presence.

"WHO HAS SUMMONED ME?" The Eternal Dragon demands to know, at which point Kami steps up.

"I have summoned you, mighty Shenron, to right the wrongs of the past!" Kami proclaims, before glancing over to you. "The hero Wyald Honta, please grant his wish!" He says, bestowing the honor to you. He gives you a soft smile, and nods.

"VERY WELL. WHAT IS YOUR WISH?" The dragon prompts you...

>Well? How are you going to word your exact wish?
>>
>>5719635
>Please revive and heal anyone killed or injured in Demon King Piccolo's rampage, leaving them restored and in a safe location near their body's last location

You think carefully on how to voice your desire, considering the exact wording for a few seconds, before Shenron speaks up once more.

"STATE YOUR WISH! I WILL NOT WAIT FOR LONG." He demands of you, causing you to gulp from the added pressure.

"Alright! Please return to life and heal anyone killed or injured by Demon King Piccolo or his children, leaving them healthy and in a safe location near their body's last location!" You shout, throwing up your arms as you declare your wish.

Shenron stares down at you for a few tense moments, before his eyes flash red and a strange sound rings out, coinciding with the release of a tremendous amount of magical power. To your trained eyes, a wave of magic bursts forth from the dragon, washing over everyone present and speeding off towards the horizons at blinding speeds, no doubt intended to provide the desired effect on all valid targets.

"YOUR WISH HAS BEEN GRANTED. AS THANKS FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO MY EXISTENCE, I HAVE BOTH INTERPRETED YOUR WISH AS POSITIVELY AS POSSIBLE...AND I HAVE ADDED A SMALL BONUS." Shenron reveals, surprising you. A bonus? What could he possibly mean by that? "FAREWELL!" The dragon finishes, his body now starting to glow with the same yellow light he was born from.

The light expands until it's impossible to actually see Shenron's form anymore, and once it fades it reveals the seven dragon balls that allowed his summoning to begin with, floating in place. They drift upwards, swirling around one another while energy humms around them, before they once more alight with power as they prepare to do something else. Then, one by one, they start to shoot off in different directions, speeding across the world to unknown destinations!

"Wh-where are they going?" You ask, turning to look at Kami.

"Anywhere on Earth. The hope I wanted to grant the world was not just in the wish we made. I wish...to inspire people to be as brave and noble as you, Honta. So that warriors and adventurers can seek out the dragonballs to grant their own wishes someday, to right the wrongs in their own lives." Kami explains.

"Ah! I see...so it's a treasure hunt! That's pretty cool, I definitely would have tried to find them myself when I was younger. I wonder who the first person to gather all of them up again will be..." You ponder, tapping your lips with a finger idly.

"It's not that interesting." Yang speaks up, rolling her eyes. "But you should check out the aftereffects of that wish." She says, pointing over towards...Barbar?

Your gaze trails over to your second oldest friend, only for your eyes to practically pop out of their sockets when you see just how different he is. Not only has his missing arm been restored, but in general he looks a lot younger than he was before, the wear and tear of time having vanished from him in an instant! His hair is even back to the darker look from when you first met him! Barbar himself is looking down at his two arms with bewilderment, mustache twitching.

And so we come to a close upon this chapter of Honta's tale. All around the world, people were waking up to find that the loved ones they'd lost to King Piccolo and his spawn were once more amongst the living, many of them healed of old injuries and invigorated by youth, a treatment shared by those who were merely harmed rather than killed. Their memories of what happened remained intact, the suffering they experienced unfathomable, but it is something they shall learn from and hopefully one day overcome. Many would recall the heroic battle that saw the Demon King sealed away, and many more would remember seeing strange objects flying high overhead just a few days before the anniversary of the tragedy. None of them, however, knew what would happen next - an air of uncertainty lingering around the world as it recovers from its wounds.

As for what came next in Honta's story, we'll see what happens next time...on Dragon Ball: Legacy!

Well, I can safely say we fuckin' did it lads! You beat King Piccolo, and you revived all of his victims. From here on out, the world is going to be radically different than it ends up in canon.
I'm taking another one month break just because that seemed to work hella well for me last time - this thread has MUCH better pacing and update speed than the last one. I'm also definitely going to keep throwing updates out as I come up with them, I really liked how it felt.

Best moments? Worst moments? Moments that had you clench your ass? Speculations and theories? I want to hear them all! I'll stay here in the thread until the very end, so don't be shy.

Holy shit bruh, I thought he was still like 19 or something
I think my favorite part was definitely the confrontation with Garlic. The buildup to the betrayal and treachery, as well as the awakening of a new power was hype. For a second I really thought we could turn the guy around, but he chose his cruel ambitions above all else. Shoutouts to Eis Scream and his gang though, I liked them and their gimmick. There wasn't anything I recall specifically outright disliking, but I did not care for Love Shiro Teal. I'm sorry, but Az IS best girl and I've been on that train since the beginning. As for ass clenching moments, I was REALLY thinking we were about to instagib King Piccolo. The near destruction of West City also had me on edge, I wouldn't have forgiven you if Mama Bei got Oppenheimer'd. But it was the Piccolo fight that had me extremely invested, especially when he had a whole powerup ready to use that DEFINITELY would've fucked up everyone. Again, best girl Azalea clutched up and we got a pretty sweet win with her and a slightly less bitter Garlic. I'm looking forward to what he might be up to in Otherworld.

I'm a big fan of this quest and how refreshing it is, while staying true to its roots. Dragon Ball Legacy avoided the pretty common premise of "Donut Steel thats always involved in DBZ's beat-for-beat storylines" while also retaining that martials arts fantasy adventure vibe, and having it set around 300 years before DB made it really compelling. I'm glad we still have some familiar characters that are slightly different than usual. All in all, preddy fuckin' good session, and preddy fuckin' good quest, Genkai. And have one of my favorite GIFs too

Time flies when you're training with God! Now that I think about it, he's more like 30 and a half, considering his months in the time chamber...but hey, his youthful spirits will never be dampened! And Shenron dialed back a few years on him physically, so that's a bonus. Healing can be quite a broad thing, you know!
>But it was the Piccolo fight that had me extremely invested, especially when he had a whole powerup ready to use that DEFINITELY would've fucked up everyone.
It would have hurt big time. I would've pulled it out sooner, but he kept rolling low, the bastard. Also Garlic kept rolling high as fuck that entire time, he has no chill.
>Again, best girl Azalea clutched up and we got a pretty sweet win with her and a slightly less bitter Garlic.
I had that plan stirring in my head from the instant you voted to have Piccolo grab some magic items. I was halfway tempted to quote joseph joestar with it.
Garlic's just a tsundere, surely. Maybe he'll be Piccolo Jr. this time around? Or maybe he'll always be an asshole. It's hard to tell with megalomaniacs.
>>
>>5719956
I wonder what Garlic Junior is up to? Maybe HE'LL be our Piccolo Junior equivalent?
>>

>A journey to the Otherworld! Finding new masters, seeing what Garlic has done in the past year, and encountering the oddities of the afterlife!
Settling down sounds like something that'll happen in the next couple of years.
Will we be able to bring any of our buddies to the Otherworld? I at least want to bring our fairy gf, don't want a repeat of what happened between us and Love.

>>5719916
I can't really say about my favorite/least favorite moments, but I've been having fun through the whole thing. I remember the Forrest of Terror was also pretty ass clenching, nothing compared to this though kek. Also I agree with the other anon that Azalea is best girl sad to see her minigirl form isn't her standard anymore, as based as shortstacks are.
I'm still speculating that there's something up with that woman we saved from the curse some threads ago, or that there are some other loose ends we haven't really tied (at least that's what I'm telling myself lmao).

Who knows! Maybe he's hitting on some saucy snake ladies. Though I doubt it, he's still got a lot of negative Karma from all that human experimentation.

Nice get, anon
>Will we be able to bring any of our buddies to the Otherworld?
Slight spoiler, but the others don't have a pass like you do. But you could always try to smuggle someone in if you REALLY wanted to. That being said, Azalea isn't nearly as sensitive to the passage of time as humans are, a decade is the blink of an eye as far as most fairies are concerned.
>sad to see her minigirl form isn't her standard anymore, as based as shortstacks are.
She'll only grow taller as she gets more powerful. Maybe one day she'll become the legendary human-sized fairy? At any rate, she does still have a great grasp on size-changing magic.
>I'm still speculating that there's something up with that woman we saved from the curse some threads ago
Tento probably knows about some pretty cool ancient ruins around the world that could be worth exploring. But she's also recovering from her recent revival after drowning because of a tidal wave. Man, she really is unlucky...
>other loose ends we haven't really tied
That final pirate lord is still out there somewhere. Supposedly retired, but...well, it's hard to take a pirate's word for truth. You never actually saw what he looked like, but I'll throw you a bone if you don't mind spoilers.
>>
Also, as a heads up, I have a preview of things to come that I'll be dropping in...let's say a day or two. It's already written up and ready, but I don't want it to influence any votes.

Is the preview Azalea prangent?

Kami personally gave Azalea contraceptives.

I mean, shit, I'll allow it if you roll a 100 on a single d100 for me right now. Show me that you have the power to overthrow God's will.

Don't worry, anon. We have lots of time. Azalea is extremely long-lived, and we've eaten Paradise Herbs and just got de-aged by a dragon.

you damn right you'll see me there!

>Best moment
I just LOVED the mental image of the dual Sealing Beam with Garlic. I hope we can count with his help the next time too.
>Worst Moment
nothing like that desu, but I really really REALLY was expecting a hug scene with Azalea after the fight.
>Ass Clenching Moment
the rolls to decide if we could save Azalea when Garlic helped us with KP. I was fucking praying
>Speculations
I really wanna know how different things are going to be now that Mutaito isn't dead. How this will change Roshi or Shen.

Episode 6 Preview: Waking From an Endless Dream

Papaya Island has always been home to warriors, a place where ancient fighters would come to do battle to one another. A festival is held once every decade as part of their traditions, in which partygoing and revelry is matched equally by contests of strength and skill. The culmination of this festival has always concluded at the Grand Temple at the center of the island, where all those who participated would fight one another to the brink of death to determine who the mightiest among them was.

Within that temple, watching over the fights for countless years, was a statue. Legends state that this statue was a warrior like no other, who sought nothing more than to die in battle against a worthy opponent, and for this task he assaulted heroes and villains alike. It is said that one day, a Demon like no other had encountered him on this very island, where this very temple now stands, and used his foul magic to seal him away for all eternity - to forever deny him of his dream as a consequence of interfering in the Demon's plans. In the warrior's last moments of freedom, he took the Demon's head, sealing his spirit away in his legendary blade in hopes of stopping the spell cast upon him...and yet his fate remained set in stone.

Among countless other things, this statue was irreparably damaged due to an unnatural series of tidal waves caused by the Demon King Piccolo during his rampage across the world. The temple itself was swept away and swiftly rebuilt by the survivors, but the statue had been shattered into hundreds of pieces by the unforgiving power of the sea. The people of Papaya Island had lost hope of ever repairing the lost artifact of their culture, but a miracle happened just a few days shy of the anniversary of its destruction.

On the very same day that countless lives were brought brought back by means unknown, the statue had found itself once more in its rightful resting place, fully intact. Even stranger is the fact that the residents of Papaya Island have reported hearing sounds from the statue like stone grinding against stone, and cracks slowly forming across the statue's figure - neither of which have ever happened in the past from the otherwise durable sculpture. An ominous wind blows over Papaya Island...

Isn't the Garlic we've been teamed up with Garlic Senior? He's the one who was Kami's apprentice in the anime, right?
>>
>>5720968
Yep! Garlic Sr is your Garlic. And he's a lot taller than that little shrimp of a son!
Honestly, always thought it was kind of weird how Garlic and Piccolo BOTH did the whole 'reincarnate into my offspring' deal.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RiADXNlikj0 He fucked shit up a LOT in the canon timeline.
>>
>>5720974
Oh, never realized Garlic Junior was a reincarnation. i thought he was just a normal son.
>>
>>5720975
It's a bit of a throwaway line, but yeah! Having died in the Dead Zone, his malice eventually reincarnates into Garlic Junior.
The weird part is that it's his son despite the fact that he was trapped until the end of his life, not a distant descendant or anything like that...so either his spirit managed to possess his son somehow, or his species has some kind of delayed birth that meant Jr was born after Sr died. Be it a REALLY long gestation period for whichever Makyan Garlic knocked up, or some kind of egg incubation...

If it helps, ALL of the given options are fully able to deal with what happens in the next arc. Or at least, part of it. Some components are on Earth, and some in the Otherworld. They’re equally important, so dont let that deter you from choosing the path you want Honta to follow.
>>
>>5721605
good to know!
also I'm curious, how you get your original ideas for thr quest? like the magic items or the dragon. Inspiration from other source, from an image, from db itself? Like I said I love how you write so can't help but to be a little curious.
>>
>>5721790
A mix of all three, though I do try to at least put my own unique twist on things! The universal ring is based on an item in Journey to the West that ends up used to control Sun Wukong by tightening around his head when he acts up. The dragon is similarly loosely taken from the sea dragon in that same story. Things like the Ore are extrapolations I make from canon events, like Beerus making a meteor to kill off the dinosaurs long ago.
With original characters, I divorce the character from the source of their art and try to come up with a fitting backstory and personality based on their art. I take a lot from Dragon Quest specifically because I haven’t played a single DQ game and thus have little to no chance of transferring a character wholesale from it.
Whenever possible, I like to filter things through the idea of “how would akira toriyama try to present this?” To stay as true to the feel as I can. Sometimes it’s harder than it seems and I’m sure I’ve failed to capture it perfectly more than a couple of times, but its a good practice nonetheless!

>>5721965
oh I DEFINITELY felt the times when you did it successfully, if that helps. ty for sharing!

No problem, I love any and all feedback!

In unrelated news, I can't believe how many people think that Azalea is better at grilling than Honta's Mom. She cooks for a tiger man!

Azalea grills for a tiger-man, too! Well, half of one.
>>
>>5723778
You fool. You imbecile. Honta is the chef in this relationship! He is the one who grills!
He's had an interest in cooking ever since his first job, after all! I should probably be writing about him cooking more often than I do to keep representing that, but it always slips my mind.
>>
>>5723873
You're right. I yield! Aiyeeee! Honta confirmed for best grill.

I could swear it was there. Then again, I'm pretty sure I did hit the character limit.
Just gimme an extra 60 characters bro, these threads get pretty big, we can't describe everything with so few!
