A newly minted trainer and camping enthusiast just starting out on your journey at the age of seventeen after your father lost his job in order to help pay the bills. On the road, you met Fie, the Fire Gym Leader, Gareth a novice Aura Guardian on pilgrimage and Holly, a runaway heiress using a pseudonym. You've also made enemies of Team Green a group of violent, radical activists looking to abolish pokemon training.Last time, you set up camp in the Frigoris Forest to hide from Team Green. After a relatively uneventful first day, you were forced to relocate as a Team Green force began closing in on you, only to be stymied by traps you set and ultimately ambushed and caught by you. After relocating, you ran foul of an Aggron while building a new camp inside a small cave, before ultimately enlisting its help. After dark, you called Fie near an Ariados colony in an attempt to lure Team Green there and throw them off your trail, before returning to camp and calling it a day.
>>5615240You sleep soundly and dreamlessly.Despite the chill, in the air, you're perfectly comfortable thanks to the radiant heat Sage throws off.You wake up about half an hour earlier than you usually do actually uncomfortably hot, which is really quite the achievement given how cold the cave at large is.You change quickly before recalling Sage and Blitz, before giving Fie's Houndoom a pat and a pokeblock for the job well done keeping watch during the night."Where're you off too?" Holly asks blearily, rubbing her eyes as she looks tiredly in your direction.>We're going to practice fighting. Up and at 'em.>I'm going to train.>Making breakfast.>Foraging.>Looking for Aggron.>Other
>>5615558>>5615593"Making breakfast." You reply.Holly nods and lays back down."'Kay... You going to light a fire? It's cold this morning." She asks, already nodding off again. You release Blitz again, who takes the gesture for what it is and resumes his prior spot next to Holly to keep her warm.>Yeah, we ought to be safe enough now.>No, it's too risky still.
>>5615672>>Yeah, we ought to be safe enough now.
>>5615672>Yeah, we ought to be safe enough now.
>>5615672>>No, it's too risky still.I'll gather firewood for the evening tho.Keep Sage and Blitz at your side to stay warm for now.
>>5615672>No, it's too risky still.TG isnt going to stop looking no matter how many of them we literally kill/get killed.
>>5615882We arent killing them tho? They have a large enough squad of mons to escape the nest.At most we drained their resources and made them fearful. The ones we captured were left to the cops.
>>5615885Bruh they are willingly walking into a fucking nest of ariados. Life threatening injuries are 100% going to happen. Some of them are very likely going to die in there. >Inb4 But this is pokemon, no one dies!!!!Yeah no.

>>5615784>>5615882>>5615793"No, it's still too risky." You reply, releasing Sage again. "We ought to be safe tonight and we can get firewood later on, but breakfast is going to be out of the pot."Holly nods as she settles, before you light the burner and start cooking, making tea first, then making porridge. It takes a few pots to satiate yours and Holly's teams, or the smaller members of them, at least. The larger members, you resolve to feed a bit later, so you don't hurt your gas reserves. It's still early and while the gas burner kept you relatively warm in tandem with Sage, you still feel cold.>Get some training in.>Practice Capoeira.>Meditate.>Practice reading with Sage.>Go Foraging.>Look for Aggron.>Other

Even if he has been since you picked him up, there's no denying that the rest of your team has some catching up to do compared to him.Still. This will also ready her to learn more varied cutting/slashing moves soon. For Blitz we undergo a command practice (discipline training) along with an obstacle course and have Rascal practice/master Secret power by moving those rocks about to keep the course changing and engaging.Make sure we reward all who do well (our 2nd batch of berries is ripe for the harvest/pokeblock blending).
>>5616900Yeah. Aside from teaching her Cut, Secret power and Bug bite we haven't.She was also at the bug gym for a while because the gym leader wanted to teach her a few moves.Right now she needs to master a handful of moves along with general training to get to her final evolution (fury cutter/slash/x-scizor/night slash/leaf blade).

>>5617615>>5617622>>5617626Well.It's been quite a while since you spent any time training Syurm. It's a credit to Ethan and Syurm's own initiative that she's gotten as far as she has.And relatively speaking, she's not far off evolving again. This in mind, you resolve to focus on her.First thing's first though...You go and harvest today's crop of Leppa Berries, replant and make a fresh batch of poke blocks, before serving a few up for Kay O-o."Take a break, bud. You've earned it." You say as he digs in, clearly enjoying the treat. This done, you turn your attention to the others."You mind helping Latias and Sage with reflect?" You ask her."Sure." She says with a shrug as she organises her own routines.Rascal, you leave be for now, before setting Blitz to staying in a circle again. You're going to focus on him a bit later, but for now, Syurm is the focus. It's kind of hard for her to do much in her present state, so you eventually resort to having her web a rope to the ceiling and climb it, slowly yo-yoing up and down. It's clearly hard work with how tired she looks afterward, but it looks like it's been good training for her.Looking over at where Holly is trying to teach Latias, Latios and Sage meanwhile, it looks like she's making very little progress with move practice, which looks to be Reflect today.Blitz however, is sitting impatiently and whining, but he hasn't strayed out of his circle yet.He practically explodes when you ruffle his ears and give him a poke block, but still stays within his circle, which is a marked improvement over yesterday.Overall, things are looking pretty good.>Keep training. (Keep going with Syurm, or change focus?)>Go foraging.>Look for Aggron.>Practice Capoeira.>Meditate.>Do a reading lesson with Sage.>Do obedience training with Blitz.>Other
>>5617758>>Do obedience training with Blitz.Start by explaining some common sense rules on how to comunicate with others without ramming full speed into them (if someone isn't moving about doing practice or making something then just nudge them with snout, paw, small bark/whine and wait for a response. Then do order practice (regular dog tricks) as a game to make sure he knows how to follow through instantly when we call out to him(should be fun for him).>Set up a small practice for Syrum (after rewarding her with a pokeblock) to work towards fury cutter and slash. Some of the softer rocks from the ones in the surroundings along with wood will do for the practice targets (maybe tie them up with layers of webbing to prevent injury and making it harder to cut them).>After we are done with both ask Rascal to practice Secret power in a select area and teach Blitz (who again is supposed to sit still in his designated area whike watching and learning).>We ourselves then sit down for slow capoeira practice+meditation (set up a wooden target) to finish low kick aura strike that we have been practicing.
So op have ypu thpught of putting the quest so far down in novel format?I think it would be a decent read.Might earn you some patteon bucks too.
>>5617758>Keep training SyrumWork towards slash by setting up targets then work on variations like Fury-cutter/X-scizor.>Give Blitz some more discipline training (work with ordinary dog tricks for now) then take the time to explain how he should approach others when he wants to play (get their attention via barking, putting up a begging posture with his front paws or rolling on the floor) instead ofcharging them.>After being done with Blitz have him show off agility to Rascal on a specified area Alex designated while we get back to watching over Syrums progress

>>5618500>>5618502>>5618506>>5618567Well. This is going well, so might as well keep at it.Heading out into the scrub, you locate a fallen log and drag it back in before standing it up and setting Syurm to cutting it apart with repeated strikes after gumming it in place with String Shot. She goes at it with gusto, leaving you to turn your attention to Blitz, who's practically vibrating in place now, not so much wagging his tail as shaking his whole hindquarters*."Okay." You say. "Rascal, Blitz, let's go for a walk."Blitz barks and bounds over towards you."Sit." You order, loud and clear as he goes to jump.He skids to a stop, colliding with your leg, but he's sitting."Good boy." Maybe it's because of the obedience training, but Blitz is a lot more inclined to behave now and doesn't bother Rascal at all while you're directing, having them demonstrate Agility and Secret Power respectively. They both pick up on the other's move pretty easily and by the time your watch is showing a half hour has gone by, you're wondering what else to teach them when you get a phone call from Holly. As soon as you answer, she's talking.++"That Aggron's back. Kadabra assures with an air of magnanimity. Then, he pauses and you suffer a moment of disorientation as the Bell Tongue is dragged to the forefront of your mind.Oh, hell. Kadabra says. Why do you have that?"A bunch of extremists were trying to steal it. Slowking asked us to take it and hide it while the Gym Leaders track them down and stop them." You explain. "Which is why we're here."What were you even doing out on the cape in the first place? A Slowpoke Colony isn't precisely the most romantic of locales. He says. If I may though, you'll have better luck with the opposite wall."Why?" You ask. There's a pre-existing cave, so you won't have to do as much digging and a pit up against the wall you can throw debris into. By the time you're done today and Drilbur's dug the plumbing, it'll make for an excellent bath. He pauses. Hm... And shower, come to think of it. He adds."You seem awfully picky for someone who's getting something for free out of this." You note.Do I? Well, I suppose I do. Kadabra admits. So, how about this: I'll teach your pokemon companions' Psychic. In exchange, you build this place out properly. I'm using it at present and I just prevented us from being trapped by a cave in. Kadabra says off-handedly. And I seem to have set up a chain of events where your untested powers run out of control and get us stuck in a dream sequence. Kadabra responds. In response, you bring out the Bell's Tongue, which elicits a nother grunt, this time of surprise as Drilbur steps closer to look at the length of crystal."Show him who's after this." You tell Kadabra. You can tell by the rumble in the ground beneath your feet that Aggron doesn't like what he's being shown."I'm willing to cook after." You offer.Another grunt. Not necessary. Kadabra translates as you stow the Tongue again. He's seen their kind before. There's a story there, but there're more pressing concerns."Right well, do you know anywhere we could fight them?" You ask.Aggron nods, before grunting and jerking his head towards the west.(Part 1)
This is going to be a bit of a long write up.If anyone's got any questions or comments, now is a good time.
>>5625372Love the quest so far.I've noticed aside from the crit failure next to the swampert pond you've sorta been interrupting any creative meditation attempts so far.Superpowers don't come easy as a writeup, don't they?Need to think up a whole system around that.Keep it up and take it slow.If you need a break just write in a post to notify the anons following the quest. This takes a lot of energy afteral.
>>5625378>I've noticed aside from the crit failure next to the swampert pond you've sorta been interrupting any creative meditation attempts so far.>Superpowers don't come easy as a writeup, don't they?>Need to think up a whole system around that.Yeah, Superpowers are hard. And if I have, it's either me being scatterbrained or the creative attempts not meeting DCs.Good rolls and having a base level of skill can only get you so far. The creative use DCs and the potency of powers will get easier and better if you accompany Gareth into the other caves.
>>5625402So we shouldstick to martial arts meditation for now.
>>5625370As you walk, you text the situation to Fie.She's not long in replying:++You realise that Team Green is only going to find you because you're being a fucking idiot right now, right? This is the textbook definition of a self-fulfilling prophecy. Just tell this Kadabra to stop worrying so much and do something else.++Stop worrying? I'm not worrying, I'm being prudent. Kadabra dismisses from over your shoulder where he's apparently reading."She has a point though. And you're not going to be able to sit on the sidelines of this." You note.Maybe, but this was your decision. And to be perfectly fair, with what you have planned, it's going to make this 'bad thing' work in your favor. There’s even a possibility this leads to resolving this entire little outing. Kadabra replies.“If you’re so sure of that, then you’d better bloody help.” You warn.In the interest of avoiding being dragged along on your little adventure past this incident, that’s agreeable. Kadabra says.++I’m committing. I’d rather fight these idiots on my terms than hide and wait for them to find me or have you and everyone else chasing them down for weeks on end.++ You send back to Fie.She’s not long in replying.++Arceus’s sake, fine. Send me where to meet you. And tell Jackie, for that matter.++Another quick text later and Jackie is quick in responding.++Not far off, send me coordinates and I’ll be there in like, an hour.++ She assures. It’s not long before Aggron brings you to a small clearing in the middle of the forest covered in loose rocks and scree and a large fallen tree. The north side of the clearing is dominated by a steep, heavily wooded slope. Perfect cover, but it’d be hell to climb and an excellent position to fight from. You could prepare this place more though, but before you do, you send Jackie and Fie the GPS coordinates.(Part 2)
>>5625406With help now on the way, you convey your idea to Aggron and Drilbur with Kadabra's help.Drilbur doesn't need much encouragement, jumping in and digging a tunnel network big enough for Syurm to fit through so she can launch ambushes relatively safely. She's hesitant at first, but after following Drilbur at your encouragement, she soon warms to the idea and is nipping in and out all over the place. From here, Holly volunteers to help with Whiskers, setting to turning a section you outline into a mud pit to force anyone trying to enter the clearing to come within Syurm's field of fire, but unfortunately, this winds up collapsing two of the lower tunnels on the slope, leaving Syurm with a bit of a blindspot.Aggron meanwhile helps rough up the clearing more while seeding the area with Stealth Rosks, which you duly warn Fie and Jackie of so they don't get pelted like that one policeman back at Lake Clarity. In addition, Kadabra actually makes himself useful during all of this, though it's not immediately evident. The first inkling you have that he's not just flaked off is when he returns to the clearing after about half an hour when you've finished the initial preparations and you're building snares and setting other traps in the brush, when he teleports back with one of the Swampert, which gives you a friendly nod.Decided I'd enlist some help. You mentioned food? Kadabra prods. With a sigh, you shake out a few pokeblocks for Swampert along with Drilbur and Aggron when they see what you're offering, before Kadabra winks out again, returning shortly thereafter with a Gallade, before disappearing again. It's while Holly is haltingly discussing her powers with the Gallade though, that Kadabra returns again, in the company of a small, green pokemon floating beside him and going by his attitude - somewhere between scared and awed - this pokemon is a big fucking deal. Even if it's not one you immediately recognise.>Who's this?>Check your pokedex.>Other
For the record: I rolled for Kadabra's recruitment drive.

>>5625824That's fine, but legit, got a nat 100 for Kadabra's third encounter roll.>>5626307I don't *think* I've stated that anywhere, but I could be wrong. My assumption has been they've been kind of vague about a lot of their own misadventures to avoid drama and so Alex and his siblings don't get any ideas about gangs being okay. And if I did say something to that effect, well, people forget stuff.
>>5625437>>5625485>>5625570>>5626307"Who's this?" You ask, bringing out your pokedex to check. You have to reread the entry twice as shock hits you at what you're reading.Celebi.A Legendary pokemon capable of time travel...That's me. A cheerful, feminine voice says in your head. Celebi. Guardian of these islands and a humble servant of the Timekeeper. Kadabra tells me you're guarding something of mine.It seems Psychics are just generally rather talkative."Holly and I are looking after it for Slowking." You explain. And I appreciate it. I've seen the future where this 'Team Green' make use of the Bell. It's dreadfully dull... and all around not great. Celebi says. So, how can I help?>Can you battle?>Can you use your abilities to give us an edge somehow?>Can you keep watch for the time being?>Other
>>5626351Nah.I thought you said they were honest on most of the things they did but left the gang stuff by the side or used as cautionary tales at best.Irc it gave us an excuse for out of character knowledge.

>>5626365I think Holly can ask Celeby herself. If anything i'd try and ask Celebi if it's willing to heal Fies back completely. It can likely get an image of a healthy back of her by peering into a time where she didn't get maimed by a snapped cable tie. Then use the healthy image as a model to repair Fies back.Sounds incredibly painful tho so we'll have to ask if Alex can bear the pain for her (aura telepathic link shenanigans).Let's csment this relatuonship with Fie properly.
>>5626372+1 I like the idea.OP gets a chance to knock out Alex via pain and we get the cheeziest cheezecake romance possible.
>>5626358>>5626365>>5626372>>5626405"Can you use your abilities to give us an edge?" You ask.Sure. Celebi says. If everyone goes crazy with stuff like Reflect and Sword's Dance, I can extend it all for everyone until the fighting's all over, but I'll be pretty useless otherwise. Maybe I can get someone out of danger or something, but I'll have to concentrate on extending those effects so everyone isn't hit with a big blowback of fatigue all at once."Well, if you hide in a hollow, I doubt it'll become much of a problem." You reply. "Your being caught in the fighting or distracted, I mean."Great. You want to start now? Celebi asks. You nod and release your team, having Kay O-o and Blitz use Dragon Dance while Syurm Hardens. Rascal Hones his Claws and uses Agility, sharpening his claws to razor sharpness and achieving speeds you've not yet seen from him.Latias meanwhile is using Calm Mind and Agility with Latios, the latter adding a Tailwind into the mix, turning it into a game before they camouflage themselves and hide in the trees at your direction while Sage and Checkers set up Light Screens, Reflects and a Safeguard.Cotton is joining in with Blitz and Kay O-o, joining their Dragon Dance and achieving impressive speeds, leaving afterimages in her wake, much like Blitz. Afterimages that are persisting and mirroring their movements."Oh, wow. I guess that's one way to learn Double Team." Holly says."I'll take it." You agree."Whoa, okay." The exclamation is followed by Fie walking into the clearing as her Houndoom finishes setting up Nasty Plots and Howling, being joined by Aggron. She looks tired and given she's been actively trying to hunt down Team Green, it's small wonder."When you said you were going to be drawing Team Green out to battle, I didn't figure you were going to be quite this thorough with the prep-work." She admits. "Made sure I was easy to follow by the way. I expect we'll have company soon enough." She adds."That is a safe bet."This statement is followed by Jackie. With her is a severe woman in a no-nonsense business suit. Her hair is a brilliant silver and you can't accurately judge her age, but you feel yourself straighten up on reflex as you straighten your jacket and feel suddenly self-conscious about not having showered in a couple of days or shined your boots since you bought them.Holly looks likewise self-conscious.What's more interesting is how Fie tenses and goes sheet white when she sees her."You're prepared for this fight then, trainer? Good. Do whatever you feel appropriate to lure these idiots here and let's finish this business up." She says brusquely, seemingly looking more through you than at you."R-right..." You stammer, before turning on your pokedex's tracker and ringing Fie.(Part 1)
>>5626454Her pokedex goes off on cue and you head to opposite sides of the clearing so you don't get feedback before you have a short conversation detailing your having moved again owing to the general crapness of your prior campsite along with the coordinates thereof in case you get in trouble. It doesn't really convince you, considering how careful you've been so far, but Team Green hasn't struck you as overly intelligent so far.Spelling it out is probably required so they don't get lost. You exchange some fairly meaningless pleasantries, Fie doing an admirable job of reining in her embarrassment before you kill the call."...Well, now." The woman says, looking between you and Fie. "Have you found someone willing to brave your father's antics, Fiona?" She asks, sizing you up with a look that pierces you to the bone."Well, uh..." Fie says, fidgeting uncomfortably. The woman turns to you more fully."Wendy Armstrong, The Storm Queen, if you want to be dramatic." She says, extending her hand to you.>Alex. Nice to meet you.>Oh. So, you're Fie's mum?>...>Other

>>5626474>>5626481>>5626496>>5626520"Alex. It's nice to meet you." You reply all but snapping to attention as you accept the handshake and nearly have your hand broken for your trouble. "You're Fie's mum, then?" You ask.Not out of any malice either, it seems, so much as this just being the way she is."Sorry about the scruff-" You begin awkwardly."Nonsense. You're a trainer, you've been out here in the forest these past few days. Wendy dismisses. "And yes, I am indeed Fiona's mother," she adds, looking around with a keen eye over the clearing before pausing on where Celebi is hovering in the hollow of a tree, glowing gently. "Is the presence of a Celebi a recent development?" She asks, prompting double-takes from Fie and Jackie."Uh... yeah..." You reply awkwardly. "She's... helping. In her own way." You add, before explaining how she's extending the effects of your moves like Dragon Dance."Hm. Not a bad idea, but I don't need to tell you how bad it would be if she were captured, correct?" Wendy asks."Of course not." You assure as Fie, Jackie and Wendy start releasing their own teams to prepare for the ambush."Regardless, Jacqueline and myself saw the wake of a large boat following just offshore of your route here, Fiona so I expect we'll have company shortly." Wendy says. "But after they're dealt with, I should like to know what your interest in this young man is." She says. You fight the urge to fidget as you start performing a Dragon Dance yourself in preparation as Fie gives a vague, non-commital answer.That's... going to be an awkward conversation.
Okay. So, for the start of the fight, all your pokemon have +6 stages to all relevant stats and you have permanent Safeguard, Light Screen and Reflect up, plus Sticky Web and Stealth Rocks. This battle is going to be a total clusterfuck to write either way, but how do you want me to write it up?>Overview (Roll 1D100, get a general description of the battle as a whole and what everyone is doing.)>Just focus on Alex (Roll for Alex's team, the others will get brief mentions.)I'd have an option for 'cover everything', where rolls are made for literally all parties involved, but it's stupidly impractical at best in this format, if not outright unfeasible. Not to mention unbelievably time-consuming.

Alright lads, seems like we're in the clear for now.
>>5628635>>5628648>>5628673>>5628680It's fifteen minutes before there's any sign that Fie has been followed, giving Wendy and Jackie's pokemon set up.They've bought their A-Teams as well, it looks like:For Wendy this means a Skarmory, Emolga, Talonflame, Aerodactyl, Altaria and Gyarados. For Jackie meanwhile, she only seems to have five pokemon:An Aggron, Starmie, Decidueye and two Ninetales, for reasons you can't readily identify. When the first sign of Team Green comes, it's in the form of two dozen Golbat flitting through the trees. The first dozen are pelted with Stealth Rocks from both Jackie's Aggron and the local one before a barrage of Rock Slide and Psybeams finish off the remainder as a few Confuse Rays arc in to hit one of Jackie's Ninetales, Wendy's Aerodactyl, Houndoom and Blitz. The effect however, wears off before Team Green arrives in earnest, preceeded by a pack of Houndour and Sylveon, prompting Swampert to respond with a Muddy Water as the two Aggron and Aerodactyl trigger Rock Slides while Jackie orders her Ninetales to use Imprison, severely hampering the remaining Houndour not caught by the deluge of muddy water and rocks as they try to respond with fire attacks while the Sylveon pick themselves up and respond with a massed barrage of Hyper Voice, which has the effect of rocking everyone in the clearing with the intensity and nearly dropping some of yours and Holly's pokemon in the one hit, though Kay O-o is wholly unaffected."Alex-!" Fie begins as the Sylveon begin preparing a second Hyper Voice as the Team Green goons and the rest of their pokemon start to trickle into the clearing, being pelted with rocks, hampered by the mud and Syurm's webs, along with yet further Sticky Webs and the odd Eelectro Web and Toxic Spikes."Kay O-o, intercept!" You order as the Sylveon try cry out again, before the onslaught of sound is abruptly deafened as Kay O-o throws himself in the way, his scales vibrating from the force of so many Sylveon, but he comes out the other side none the worse for wear, before being swamped as Fie orders her Salazzle to clear out the Sylveon with a Sludge Wave, though compared to the impromptu chorus, he's relatively alright, lumbering back to you at your word as you spray him down with an Antidote as you order Blitz to Quick Attack the survivors in tandem with Rascal using Aerial Ace.Wendy, Jackie and Fie seem to be doing relatively well, having weathered the first Hyper Voice barrage relatively well, but you and Holly have taken the hits a lot harder.(Part 1)
>>5629791"Back up and heal!" Wendy calls to you brusquely as she orders her pokemon up to cover you while Jackie does the same for Holly and Fie does similar for Aggron and Kadabra and the other wild pokemon with them.Holly-" You begin, but she nods and cuts you off, before a wave of pinkish light starts bathing her team from seemingly nowhere."Latias, Heal Pulse." You say, directing her to do the same for your team, while Blitz bolsters himself with Morning Sun, Rascal Roosts and Kadabra sees to the wild pokemon with the same move and himself with Recover. In the lull that follows, you look back to see some two dozen Team Green members trying to direct their side of the chaos, still outnumbering you nearly fifteen to one, though you've downed probably half their pokemon now. It's relatively clear that you've qualitatively got the better pokemon, but despite the breadth of your preparation, the gauntlet of hazards and the utterly shit position you've provided Team Green, this is still anyone's battle, even with Jackie imposing even more restrictions on Team Green by now ordering her Decidueye to use Imprison as well, cutting their options yet further.Still, from your position, you now have options for how to respond.>Go around and hit Team Green's flank.>Hang back and pelt Team Green with ranged attacks.>Skirmish and pick off injured Team Green pokemon the others have injured.>Try and envelope Team Green and immobilise them.>Other

>>5630809>>5630818>>5630825>>5630882Looking down at the moshpit below, it looks like Fie, Jackie and Wendy have Team Green stalled at least, but the gangers have numbers on their side and they're not backing down."Holly, circle around the left with the others." You say."What do you have in mind?" She asks."Hem them in, then trap them with Secret Power." You reply."Is that going to work?" Holly asks with a frown."It should. Between Swampert loosening the soil and all the rocks that have been thrown around, we ought to be able to barricade them in with it." You reply. She hesitates, then nods, before setting off away from the battle proper and around."Alright, follow me." You say to your team before heading towards the right, mirroring Holly and skirting around the edge of the clearing until you meet up behind Team Green, completely unnoticed."Alright, Syurm, Blitz, Rascal: Secret Power behind Team Green." You order. The three nod before racing in to do just that, throwing up a wall in no time, which is shortly bolstered by Aggron and Swampert heaping rocks behind it, before the other pokemon get in on the act, turning what had been a low, knee-high wall into a two-foot thick, chest-high barricade before more than maybe three of the Team Green Grunts in the clearing have realised what you're up to, neatly cutting their retreat and simultaneously, leaving the grunts themselves vulnerable while their small army of pokemon are busy trying and mostly failing to mob down Fie, Jackie and Wendy's team.A position from which they can't easily disengage themselves as Syurm webs herself up on top of the wall and looks back to you."Sticky Web." You order and she gets to work, raining sheets of sticky silk down on Team Green as they encourage their respective charges as they singularly fail at dragging down the others' pokemon as all the while, their pokemon a re being thrown around and picked off steadily, even as they tire out the pokemon arrayed against them. The bulk of the Grunts are panicking now and backing up towards the fighting to avoid being entombed, but there's only so far they can go and already, Syurm's string is starting to limit their movements."Sing, Cotton!" Holly orders and adding to the problems facing the Grunts, he starts to do just that, starting to lull Grunts to sleep into the bargain as some of them desperately try to get their pokemon to break off and come after you instead, but those pokemon that do try end up getting hit hard by their opponents ruthlessly exploiting the opportunities presented to even up the odds a little. The precarious situation becomes a decided outcome however, as Sage, Latias and Kay O-o, along with Kadabra start blasting away with Psybeams and Dragon Pulse, sowing chaos into the bargain and allowing the others a much easier clean-up.(Part 1)
>>5632283Inside five minutes, the battle is over and if it weren't for the fact everyone is still breathing, it'd be easy to mistake it for a battlefield out of the middle ages for all the bodies on the ground.Although, in this case, those downed are only unconscious or asleep instead of dead and you're sure the defeated wouldn't be complaining and thrashing against sticky silk in that instance.Atop the wall meanwhile, Syurm is glowing and before your eyes, she begins to glow, before her form shimmers like water, elongating before there's a flash and a Leavvany is stood where before she'd perched. She steps down nimbly, before doing a neat pirouette and looking to you with a smile.>Great work, Syurm.>We're not quite done yet...(Search for reinforcements.(Roll.))>Go check on Celebi.>Other

She asks."Yeah, all finished." You reply.Oh, good. Celebi says, then slumps as the glow of psychic power she's wreathed in dissipates.Simultaneously, all your pokemon slump as they're hit by a wave of fatigue.Sorry. Keeping stuff like Dragon Dance working longer than a minute or so like that is exhausting and if I took the fatigue all myself, it would kill me. She explains."I get it." You assure, before going to your bag and retrieving a Leppa Berry. She takes it and nibbles at it gratefully.I'm going to take a nap. She says, already nodding, the berry only half eaten."Sure." You reply, but she's already nodded off.The wellbeing of the erstwhile guardian of the islands seen to, you recall your team, before heading out into the brush to look for stragglers, joining Fie and Jackie in the endeavour. It looks like you got them all though, because despite a thorough search, the only thing you find during the search is Jackie, all but crashing into her at one stage before you return to the clearing where Wendy is finishing up securing the Team Green members' poke balls and recalling their pokemon."A good three quarters of these pokemon were stolen." She says conversationally as she checks trainer IDs."Of course they were." You reply. "Not like any of this lot could ever get an Eevee to evolve into a Sylveon with the way they go on." You add.Wendy chuckles."Ah, I think I like you. That was a rather well done flanking maneuver. Most trainers would've stuck with battling head-on." She says. "A student of history, are you? >>5633915>>5633921>>5634078>>5634101"...Yes and no. my parents kind of forced me to study, a bunch so there's some Stockholm's syndrome there." You reply sheepishly. "It's great, but Arceus, school makes history boring. But we used to play a bunch of Capture the Flag in Junior Rangers and you tend to learn how important positioning is when things start getting competitive." You add."Ah, an academic heading out at a more sensible point in their life." Wendy says, nodding, before turning to Fie. "What's your impression?" She asks.Fie blushes."Alex is the trainer I mentioned I was travelling with." She says. "He knows what he's doing. No idea how I'm actually going to give him a decent challenge when he does challenge my gym properly." She admits."Hm. Why not battle now?" She suggests, then shakes or head. "Rather, wait until the police have carted these idiots off, then battle.""I don't have an appropriate team..." Fie begins lamely."Precisely." Wendy says. >>5634772>Hey, why not?
>>5634772>>That sounds like a bad idea.
>>5634772>>That sounds like a bad idea. While the match idea is sound the current situation can change in an instant if Team Green sends further reinforcements. If Fie doesn't have a right idea of how to test me for a third badge challenge she doesn't need to restrain her self to the third badge level, i'm aware that as a challenger i'm permitted to challenge at a higher level like 4th or 5th level badge by signing a waiver. On top of that if i wanted to test my self further i'd likely challenge lady Emma because quite frankly i don't care about loss or victory in such a scenario and would like to use the opportunity to learn and improve more first. This whole Team Green fiasco shows that i need to take being a trainer a lot more seriously.Having a legendary on my team painted a target on me, beating down these TG nuts made sure they will chase me wherever i go and finally dating your daughter means i need to be up to standard in order to be able to support her properly.

She confirmed."Besides, I don't necessarily have to face Fie." You note."You actually want to take Emma on?" Fie asks, startled. "Huh. You're keen. Most of the locals in Saltcoast make a note when she's on specifically to avoid having to face her.""Hey, not every gym challenge has to be a victory." You reply with a shrug. "And you learn more from your losses, anyway. Besides, I can always take a higher-tier challenge, right?""You can." Fie confirms. "Honestly, looking at your team now, I think it'd be for the best if you did." She adds. "Or, swap your team around. Whichever option you decide, I'd finish up anything else you had going. >>5649117Wasn't it established that we were raised in Greenshoot? It's how we became childhood friends with the champ and did some boy scout work.
>>5649126And trained in Fie's brother's Normal Gym thinking it was a normal gym
>>5649126Born in Fuchsia.Raised there until 7 when we had to move and Jessie&James stopped being Gym trainers. Then Alex joined the martial arts club at the Greenshot gym. He's 17 now.
>>5649141I don't like that, feels like trying to retcon Alex.
Ah looking at the archives, seem you suggested that last thread and this one too. QM didn't shoot you down, but it didn't winStill don't like that though, I prefer simpler backstories.
>>5649153Yeah, I'm also not much of a fan of it.
>>5649153It's up to OP.That's why i try to make use of the>OtherOption when i want to write in for my vote tho.Koga and Looker were the only two who expressed a genuine interrest in rehabilitating the trio so incorporatimg them in their background just works.
>>5649126>>5649128>>5649141>>5649151>>5649255>>5649209Right, so the born in Fuchisia thing.I quite like it, in principal, but not quite to the level >>5649141 suggests.More, you were raised there by Koga and Janina to age four while Jessie and James were busy working on something else in Arnet off and on before they settled down in Greenshoot shortly before Sarah was born and you've visited occasionally since. It's a bit more coherent with established background and not as much of a retcon as an elaboration and expansion.
>>5649585If Alex was there until four, he probably doesn't remember much, if anything. The visits can add a bit of knowledge, but nothing excessive.Yeah, I think that works fine as a compromise.
>>5649585I can understand Alex's parents having some sort of connection with Koga, but I feel like Alex personally knowing and remember ninjas is a bit much.
>>5649585I agree that it's a good compromise, it makes sense and isn't too convoluted.Though I'm still personally not much of a fan (especially since that incident with the Rockruff showed that Alex isn't a stealth master, unless I'm not remembering things right).
>>5649629Alex didn't try to sneal up kn it.Syrum accidentally tripped him up with her string shot and the rockruff escaped.
>>5649585I'm guessing they were on a mission sent there by Koga and Looker.Having Janine as an adopted aunt works.Would have preffered them as gym trainers tho since they fit with the whole ninja trickster skillset and showmanship that would have been a huge tourist draw.
>>5649085>>5649088>>5649117>>5649169"My godfather is an Interpol Commissioner and my parents worked with him back when they were travelling." You reply as you move onto the next section of the canopy."Huh, so you must've heard some stories growing up then." Holly says as she checks the food."In vague terms." You reply. "But enough detail to know gangs like Team Green tend to hold a grudge and tend to double down and escalate after a failure rather than give up.""How could they possibly escalate from messing with time?" Holly asks with a frown."Got me." You admit with a shrug as Syurm finishes up and returns to her seat. "Maybe they'll try again, or go try their luck with other legendaries." You add with a shrug."Well, that's a problem for another time, I guess." Holly says as she hands you a plate of stew. You quickly distribute the food among both your teams before digging in yourself. After the long day and with the chill in the air from the storm outside the camp, a hot meal is just what the doctor ordered."So, you started on any psychic exercises with Gardevoir yet?" You ask curiously.Holly shakes her head."Not yet." She replies. "It's taking us both a moment to get our bearings.""Fair enough." You reply with a nod, before checking your watch. It's still relatively early and even though more capoeira training might be off the cards for now so you don't accidentally level the camp, there's still other stuff you could do.>Spend time teaching Sage to read.>Spend time with your team.>Read for a while.>Get an early night.>Other

>>5650637>>5650639>>5650656Before anything, you gather up some of the extraneous rocks you piled near the edge of the camp and use them to help weight down the corners of the tent, before resuming your prior spot and shifting over to give Sage some space when you beckon her over, before you start on another round of reading lessons.Or, try to.About ten minutes after you've started the lesson, she's completely nodded off and is sleeping soundly as she's leaned against your side with her head rested on your shoulder."I guess she's as worn out as I feel." Holly observes from across the fire, before turning to Gardevoir as she taps her trainer on the knee before indicating you and your pokedex. "I can teach you, but tomorrow." Holly assures, stifling a yawn. "It's getting kind of late now." She adds, before standing and heading for the tent. "'Night..." She says, with a wave."Goodnight." You reply, returning the wave, before looking around the camp.Kay O-o is already asleep, curled up under the canopy with Latias and most of Holly's team huddled up with him. Rascal's found a perch and is already asleep. As you watch, Syurm weaves herself what looks at first glance like an outsized beehive, attached to a branch and the ground, before she climbs inside and curls up to sleep. You wait a moment, before sending Blitz in to settle in with Holly, before you wake Sage up and indicate for her to join the others before Holly comes out to give you space to change. This done you crawl into your sleeping bag. You're joined when Holly and Gardevoir come back in, by Sage, who slips into the bag beside you, before hugging you and promptly falling asleep again.Huh.You wonder why she's so clingy all of a sudden, before yawning.>Keep reading.>Time to call it.>Other

Occasionally, Holly or Fie are with you in these scenes, which is a big change from the usual solitude of your dreams, but it's not a bad change by any stretch of the imagination.Team Green haunting your dreams though, you're not sure what to think on.>They've graduated from annoying and have become an actual problem.>Fuck 'em.
