Welcome back.

Rules are simple: Votes are tallied every hour, with whatever course of action being the most popular being the course of action taken. Write ins are encouraged and non-mutually exclusive votes will be combined if possible.

When a roll is called for, roll however many D100 are specified. 5- is a 'crit fail' and generally means something bad is about to happen. 95+ is a 'crit success' and generally means something good just happened. a 'crit success' trumps a crit fail. User input on both will be taken into consideration.

For a short summary for the new and to recap:

You are Alex. A newly minted trainer and camping enthusiast just starting out on your journey at the age of seventeen after your father lost his job in order to help pay the bills. On the road, you met Fie, the Fire Gym Leader, Gareth a novice Aura Guardian on pilgrimage and Holly, a runaway heiress using a pseudonym. You've also made enemies of Team Green a group of violent, radical activists looking to abolish pokemon training.

Last time, you set out to the Barrier Islands to find Holly a Psychic teacher, Kay O-o evolved and Fluffy and Volta were injured in separate battles. You were also asked to safeguard an artifact from Team Green by a Slowking. Presently, you're resupplying before heading out to find a place to hide until Fie and the police have resolved matters.

Looking around, you do some quick math after compiling a list of what you want.

A Crafting Kit is the first item on the list along with the recipes and materials for basic poke balls, potions and revives. You also grab guide books to tumble stone and berries along with a packet of seeds each for Vivichoke and Medicinal Leek.

You also buy some basic components for making poke balls.

This winds up wiping a little over half of what you have left in terms of cash, but you've got the beginnings of everything you need to be self-sufficient in the future.

This taken care of, you head for the TM store across town.

The selection doesn't look as great as it did back in Newport and the TMs aren't even the primary stock in trade of the store, that honour going to records and CDs, but it should still be worth a look, right?

Looking through what's on offer, you find what is available to be priced well and truly over what you can afford.

Hell, you don't think Holly could afford these. And none of them strike you as particularly worthwhile.

You suppose you can't blame the shopkeep for trying to take advantage of a cornered market, but it seems like kind of a waste of time when Saltcoast City is just a boatride away.

That's none of your business though.

You head on out, empty handed before headed to the south side of town.

You release Rascal and saddle him up, before taking off, flying back north over the town, up towards Imbrium Cape again, until you see three figures down below you walking, before deviating off to the west and directing Rascal down towards the canopy when they're gone and angling back down south, along the western flank of the island, past Maiden's Cove and the backside of Mount Diadem, before finally turning east towards the southern flank of the mountain.

It's lush here, but further east, you can see where the forest becomes properly thick and impenetrable, a better place to hide, you can't really envision.

You follow the south side trail down there, keeping low before landing on the beach near where the trail is swallowed up by the fringes of the forest and head in.

You look at Holly.

She shrugs and makes an 'after you', gesture.

You recall Rascal, then release Syurm and Latias.

You have to pick Syurm up now, owing to how immobile she is at present and she's gotten heavier, which makes things a little awkward, but it's good to have her back.

"Latias, I want you to scout ahead for us. Try find a safe, hidden place we can make camp with a good source of water and a bit of elevation." You say. "Preferably, a hard to access clearing. Make sure you're not seen."

She chirps, then disappears and heads into the forest.

If you really look, you can just make her out as almost a trick of the light.

"Latios, help Latias look for a place we can camp." Holly says, following your lead as you head down the rough path into the forest.

You keep walking for an hour, picking through brush and negotiating the rough track, skirting Ariados webs and the lairs of other pokemon, before Latias and Latios return and lead you off the path and through the brush, eventually picking the both of you up and ferrying you nearly an hour's walk back west north west, along a stream, then up a cliff to a small clearing next to a waterfall, just big enough for a camp and hidden from the sky by the canopy.

The water is even deep enough to swim if you wanted to, thanks to the stream bed having eroded away a pool, the waterfall itself being relatively short and emptying into a second pool below.

About the only way this spot could be more perfect, is if this clearing was bordering a hotspring.

Your paranoia is sounding alarm bells though.

This place is absolutely perfect... so is it occupied already?

...No... a place this nice has got to be occupied.

You close your eyes and fall into a meditative breathing pattern as you reach for the aura...

When you open your eyes, you're rewarded with the sight of two hulking outlines under the water in a groto that there's no way you would've spotted from up on the surface here.

They seem to be guarding nearly half a dozen much smaller outlines which you can only assume are their young and off in the brush, you can see several vaguely bean-shaped creatures, some large and some small, shrouded in what looks like pink mist.

Actually, the pink mist isn't from the Aura, that's real and drifting into the clearing from the west.

You're just opening up your tent when Holly speaks up.

"Look!"

You turn to look in the indicated direction and you see a Mushanna drifting into the clearing, followed by a whole bunch of Munna, and then another Mushanna... And all about them is that pink mist.

They don't seem hostile, at least.

It was being discussed if we'll develop telepathy with our mons.
So far KayO seems to be forming a connection through aura after having evolved.
>>
>>5582291

There was that, but that's communicating 'psychically', rather than 'psychic pokemon'.

Or, I might just be tired today. Who knows.
>>
>>5582295
Interesting. I feel like it's likely we'll at least be able to telepathically communicate with Nika (considering we're practically her parent).

>>5582298
I suppose there's a distinction there with the typing and all that. It does put up the question of what exactly a true 'psychic placation' would look towards a purely psychic pokemon (though I do feel like we at least have a slight sense of how to interact psychically from experience).
>>
>>5582303
From what I gather we only need to be honest.
>>
>>5582305
Well that sounds easy enough, and we've been doing that already I think.
>>
>>5582305

That's the core thrust of it, but the kicker is whether or not the psychic pokemon in question understands and can make distinctions based on the information you provide.

The general rule is, the closer to human civilisation a Psychic pokemon lives\has been, the better at making those distinctions and interpreting humans they are.

You hesitate, before walking over and kneeling down in front of the herd, forcing yourself to relax as you focus on your reasons for being here: Keeping the Tongue of the Timekeeper's Bell safe for Slowking.

Behind you, you can hear Syurm chittering from where she was just making a nest from yourself.

You feel your head begin to swim as the Munna and Musharna drift closer, before after a long, long minute you see the mist begin to thin as the herd begins to drift back into the forest for the time being.

Phew. Hopefully, the Swampert or whatever lives in the pool will be that understanding.

It doesn't seem like you're having an adverse reaction to the Dream Mist, either.

"Are you okay?"

You turb to look at Holly, who seems to be wavering and shifting before your eyes, before settling and...

"I think the Dream Mist got to me." You admit, shaking your head.

Nope. Holly still looks like a Gardevoir. And a cute one, at that. Considering how tall they tend to be, seeing one as short as Holly is an interesting experience.

"How so?" Holly asks with a frown.

"Do I seem... off to you?" You ask. "Any distorted image or anything?" You ask.

"No?" Holly asks, then blinks. "Why?"

"The Dream Mist's got me seeing you as a Gardevoir." You explain.

Holly giggles at this.

"It's not funny." You reply. "Everything else looks hazy."

"Well, how about I do those poke blocks and you work on the rest of the camp?" She suggests.

You nod, before ambling over and start setting your tent up.

Even out of it as you are, pitching your tent is a task you could do in your sleep, as evidenced by the fact that even in a hallucinogenic haze as you are, you get it done with no trouble and with deft efficiency.

This done, you start working on a fire pit, only for Holly to stop you as you've just got a ring of stones arranged.

"I think you ought to focus on clearing your head. This is all over the place." She says with a note of concern.

"You're probably right." You agree, letting her help you to a rock to sit down on. "Is there anything in the pokedex about a counteragent or cure?" You ask.

"Let's see..." She says, frowning as she searches.

The mist is really getting to you, because man does she look cute, looking all thoughtful like that.

...Are these your thoughts or the thoughts of who or whatever those Munna and Mushanna ate whatever this dream was from?

Shaking your head, you relax and fall into a meditative state.

"Ah." Holly says. "Yes, there is a counteragent." She says, then sighs. "Just, um... give me a moment while I prepare this." She says.

You hear the sound of her fiddling with the billy before you smell the rank cabbage smell of a gas burner, before the whoosh of ignition as Holly starts boiling water and the sounds of her adding whatever ingredients she needs.

You can feel your head clearing in the meantime, before after a minute, Holly hands you a cup.

You blow on it, before downing it and making a face.

It's a combination of some herbal medicine she must've brought at the craft store, along with crushed Chesto Berry and pulped Pecha. It doesn't taste grate, but after you've finished it and opened your eyes, things are back the way they should be.

"Did it work?" Holly asks anxiously.

"Yeah, it worked." You confirm, before going and fixing the firepit properly.

You get the rest of the camp set up in short order before preparing a batch of poke blocks for the pokemon in the pool and leaving them at the water's edge before focusing on stacking firewood.

That taken care of, there's still plenty of time left before sundown.

It mightn't be wise to have your pokemon spar with Holly's but there's enough time to do some training and you're sure she'll want to do some training as well.

At the same time, you could try preparing some contingencies if Team Green does somehow track you down or spend time making the camp more comfortable with Syurm.

You take a look around the camp, then nod.

There's definitely some improvements you could make here...

First thing's first though, you ought to update Fie.

You dial her number, and she answer's immediately.

++"Before you say anything, turn off your 'dex's tracker."++ She says brusquely. ++"It's showing where you are loud and clear."++

"Ah, shit." You say, before navigating to the settings and turning off the transponder.

It's handy for if you get lost or injured and have to call for help, but it's the antithesis of helpful if you're trying to hide.

++"You all settled in?"++ She asks.

"Yeah, got all the important stuff done." You say.

++"Good. I'll keep you up to date, but I just got here with Ian. Gareth's back in Saltcoast City, training with Emma."++ She says. ++"Detective Winters isn't here yet, but she shouldn't be far off."++

You exchange goodbyes after this, before going and collecting Syurm, who's looking at you curiously.

"You want to build some stuff?" You ask.

She perks up noticeably and over the next hour, with help from Latias, you trap every viable overland path to your campsite with tripwires, nets made from Sticky Web and weighted with rocks, snares and with a bit of bribery, a few deadfalls, composed of Ribombee and Combee hives.

This taken care of, you head back to camp and carefully dig out the firepit more and alter it to improve the airflow to cut down on the smoke produced. It'd be mostly dispersed and hidden by the canopy, but there's no reason to fill the clearing up with smoke.

This taken care of, you go to collect some firewood and nearly trip into a thicket of some thorny plant you don't recognise, which gives you an idea.

With Checkers' and Syurm's help, you cut it out, before ferrying it to the approaches you found in clumps and add it liberally to the tripwire and snare traps.

It shouldn't kill anyone or lead to any really serious injuries, but it'll fucking hurt when someone falls into it.

And your camp is in the absolute middle of bumfuck nowhere, relative to the island. Even the most dedicated martial artist or aura guardian probably wouldn't bother, so the only ones liable to, is anyone trying to find you. And the only ones liable to be doing that are Team green, since Fie or Acadi would just call you to let you know the coast is clear.

This taken care of, you've still got some time before sundown, so you let Syurm go and release Braizen.

"You still up for some training?" You ask Holly.

She brightens as Latias watches on curiously as she releases Checkers.

"Sure. We going to do moves?" She asks.

You nod.

"Yeah, We'll show you Psybeam and you can show us Light Screen." You say.

Holly nods in turn.

"Deal." She says.

You practice for about an hour, during which time not only do Sage and Chaekcers pick up the moves they're demonstrating for their opposites, but Latias picks up both after watching them for a while.

"No fair!" Holly says with a mock pout.

"Hey, we're going to be here for a while." You note. "We can train all we want tomorrow."

"It's not as though there's much else we can do." Holly concedes.

It's starting to get late.

"I'll start on dinner." Holly says, as she releases the rest of her team to relax before going to the fire to start making preparations for dinner while you wander on over to the water's edge to find the plate of pokeblocks you left empty.

Hopefully, that'll be enough to prevent the bigger pokemon from bothering you, at least for tonight.

It's hard to see into the water now, but you think you can see movement in there now, likely the smaller pokemon you saw coming out to play in the evening gloom.

You wander back to the camp and have just sat down when your pokedex chimes an incoming call.

You pull it out in surprise, half expecting to see Fie or Acadi's numbers, but instead, it's from an unknown caller.

Team Green are trying to trace us through our phone maybe.
Memorize the number for later.
We got the numbers of all our friends, family members, godfather, gym leaders we had contact with and probably even those of the Fuchsia city gym folks (would do a writeup of it being Alex's birth town they moved away from after the twins were born andwhere they started puttinghim throughranger school).
>>
>>5584426

Sarah and Tom aren't twins, there's a four-year age-gap between them. Alex is the oldest at seventeen, Sarah is fifteen and Tom is eleven.

But if you want to do a write-up of Alex's early life and whatnot, by all means and I'll fill in the gaps.

I've not gone into it intentionally, because I've got a pretty good idea for it, but none of what you said directly contradicts my chain of events.

Update when I'm back from work.

>>5584462

Point to keep in mind: Giovanni is the manga version in this, rather than the anime or Rainbow Rocket version.

Besides that, there's stuff regarding your parents history in Arnet you can find out, you've just got to talk to the right (or wrong) people.
>>
>>5584921
What did they do?
Saw team Cracker recruit kids like they were recruited to Rocket and they immediately went to blow team cracker up while diverting their time om babysitting their kids or something?

Also manga Giovanni had a redemption arc and had half the league in his pocket... Using pokespe fpr any refference is a bad idea.
>>
>>5585282

True.

And no, but Team Cracker was involved.

Update soon, just got some paperwork to do.
>>
>>5584921

Yeah, that's sketchy.

You make a note of the number on an old notepad out of the bottom of your pack and ignore it.

It's either a telemarketer or some tech-saavy Team Green member trying to trace you via phone after doing some ass-about search for you via a photo some mook got of you during one of the fights you've been in with them and either way, you're not in the mood for that bullshit right now.

That taken care of, you release the rest of your team to play and mingle with Holy's.

Everyone's pretty sedate.

Kay O-o is still getting used to bipedalism and prowls the perimeter of the camp while Latias settles next to you while you keep reading her Bidoof's pokedex entry.

After a bit, you're joined by Latios, who huddles on his sister's opposite flank as Syurm spins webs in the major gaps around the clearing. Presumably to keep out any enterprising Ariados, or at least warn her of them.

Blitz is running around with Checkers and Rascal, the latter flying small circles over the camp while the two former chase him from the ground, Checkers seemingly using the opportunity to train more than for the sheer sake of it like Blitz and Rascal.

Cotton is perched on Holly's head as Swablu are want to do, much to her giggled amusement as she makes dinner, while Whiskers and Beauty, her Barboach and Feebas respectively swim in the waterfall pool, playing with the Mudkip therein under the watchful eyes of the two Swampert that have surfaced on the opposite side of the pool, away from the camp.

Fie's Houndoom has curled up on the opposite side of the fire to everyone and dozed off, apparently content to catch some sleep.

Sage meanwhile plops down next to you and leans against your side with a content sigh.

Outside of Fie's battling in gym, you've not really spent much time with her since she's evolved, but evidently she seems happy enough to just cuddle up and listen to you read while she enjoys the camp ambience for the time being.

OP a few suggestions regarding grooming and mass rolls related to it.

>You pick the roll with the highest total added up
>Crit sucess prevents crit fails for training rolls for the next two days or if ready to evolve induces evolution +1 random move learned from learnable movepool upon evolution (example sage evolves and gets Grass knot )
>Crit fail causes a bit discomfort to the mon and rrveals an injury or malignment (like parasites or rash) that will need to be specially cared for
>>
>>5585453

These are all really good suggestions. I also really like the crit-fail suggestion, because I hadn't really given much thought to stuff like parasites or finding minor injuries.
>>
>>5585468
Yeah but thinking about it injury management and pokemon care is esential for sny good trainer...
Hence a chump like Ash got carried by Brock for 5 regions counting in Orange isles.
>>
Rolled 48, 49, 1, 16, 41, 85 = 240 (6d100)

>>Just focus on reading.
Let everyone wind down, training can wait for tomorrow morning.

>>Get out the grooming kit. (Focus on someone (Roll 1D100) or groom everyone (Roll 6D100)

Everyone after they spent enough time playing, listening or resting.

>>Meditate
Leave that for before sleep but do it by the campfire... Maybe chat up any of the Swampert family if they approach.
Introspection and positivity.
>>
>>5585449
So going by the highest total...

>KayO enjoys getting his scales polished (probably deepens his bond with you) and is eager to trai tomorrow
>You disrupted Latias enjoyment from reading and now she's pouting
>Syrum enjoys a bit of care but you don't get much done for her as you haven't studied up bugs or grass types well
>Rascal is still a bit tender/tired and needs a little rest more than any grooming
>Blitz had some tangled dirt in his fur that you got out properly but still pulled a little harder than you should
>Sage purrs like a kitten afyer you've finished combing her through
>>
>>5585449
>>5585453
>>5585576

You read for a while longer until Latias starts to get a little restless, at which point you let her go to fly around the clearing.

The phone rings again with another, different unknown number. You note it down, but don't answer before going and getting your grooming kit.

Holly gives you an encouraging smile as you call Kay O-o over.

There's a whole lot more of him to groom now, but he thoroughly enjoys the attention as you wash him down then oil his scales. He looks positively invigorated by the time you're finished with him, before you move onto Syurm.

It abruptly strikes you, that you've got only a hazy idea of what to do with bug pokemon, but you make the most of washing her down. You don't think you did to badly and Syurm doesn't seem irritated or upset by the treatment, but you make a note to read up on grooming bug types later.

You call Rascal over next and spend some time grooming his feathers, but he hops away when you try to polish his talons. You let him go. Evidently he's still a little sore from his rolled ankle.

You call Blitz over next and to your complete lack of surprise, he's a mess: he's got the beginnings of mats in his fur, tangles and dirt clods and other detritus everywhere. You manage to get most of it out before he starts getting impatient, but he takes off running again before you can tease apart the tangles and properly deal with the mats. You'll have to finish up with him later.

Sage meanwhile is sitting expectantly, paws clasped in her lap. She brings the log she's sat on over before sitting down within easy reach for you then settles down to let you work, clearly enjoying herself as you brush her coat and eartufts before moving onto her tail.

As it turns out, this is an absolute trial to brush, with how dense, coarse and rough it is and you eventually just give up before you ruin your brush, but Sage seems happy, picking up the brush after you're done before happily, if inexpertly, preening at her eartufts like you did.

You leave her to it as you call Latias over and start tending to her. You don't get much done besides a cursory towel-down to remove loose down and detritus before Holly calls dinner though.

You'll just have to keep going after dinner.

Or, you could just leave her and Blitz for the morning. It's not like you'll have gym battles, shopping or travel to tend to tomorrow.

You're about halfway done with your meal when your phone rings again.

That's really starting to get annoying.

Oh. Oh, shit.

++"Stop meddling-"++

The caller doesn't get any further before you've disconnected and opened a text to Detective Winters, outlining what just happened, along with the three calls, along with timestamps for all three.

This done with, you send Fie a text to the effect outlining what just happened.

She's not long in replying.

++Focus on training your team, but especially Latias.++ She replies in text format.

Shortly after, Detective Winters replies.

++That was likely a Team Green Admin or sympathiser inside the League.++ She replies. ++It also explains the Sylph Scopes they all seem to be carrying here. Don't let your guard down.++

This taken care of, you return to the camp.

Sage helpfully hands your dinner back to, apparently having kept it warm for you.

You ruffle her ears before resuming eating.

"Who was that?" Holly asks curiously.

"I don't know." You admit grimly. "But they knew about Latias and wanted me to stop meddling. Detective Winters thinks it must be a mole in the League or a Team Green Admin." You explain.

Holly pales.

"Yeah, not good news." You agree. "Houndoom can take nightwatch, I guess, but from now on, we're going to have to train like hell. At least until both our teams are on about Kay O-o's level."

>>

Add to that.

>Sage and Latias are most likely to get to KayOs level quickly.

Sage, Checkers and Latias/Latios can learn Mystical Fire, Shock Wave and Grass knot if we try hard enough.
That shpuld cover our neds.
Syrum will have to help them acquaint themselves with grass and electric type energy.
As for Mystical Fire i'll have Sage burn a Light screen with Incinerate and slowly amp up the power after she figures out how to burn special powers.
When she gets it down the others will be able to learn easily.

>KayO needs to get used to walking and a new fighting stance

Already got an idea about that by teaching him how to use boxing footwork in combination with dragon dance.
He can altetnate between doing that and teaching Cotton Dragon Dance, Dragon Breath and Aerial Ace in the morning.

>For Blitz i need to make sure he gets discipline training, don't wamt a huge arcanine bouncing on people while acting like a puppy.
Part of that will be him having to sit still in a safe perimeter and watch KayO teach Dragonbreath and Dragon Dance.
I'm sure he can learn dragonbreath as i've checked but dragon dance will be up to chance and effort (i'm gonna bet he'll actually learn dragon dance first because he won't be able tp sit still all the time).

>Syrum will get mostly general training but...
I'll let her finish Bug bite and maybe have Checkers teach her Cut.

Afternoon will be general training for everyone except for KayO who will meed new moves.
Thinking of going with Cut, Slash and Dragon claws as they're likely to have a nice progression.
>>
OP had an idea about Secret/Hidden power.

By Alex's time there was bound tp have been an individual from Hoenn who traveled Paldea and figured out how to change the moves type, likely resulting in a singular overall secondary effect for secret power based on type.

For example
>Secret Power Fire summons 5 turns of sunlight.
>Secret Power Water summons rain
>Secret Power Dark lowers opponent Atk by 1 stage
>Secret Power Psychic lowers opponents Evasion
>Dragon raises users Atk and Speed
>Steel raides users Atk and Acc
>>
>>5587098
>>5587121
>>5587214

You nod.

It's the truth and you know it. You've just been getting into a lot of situations where you've needed to give it the best you've got. And that's been Kay O-o since you met him.

Still, if there's any lesson to be learned from Volta and Fluffy's injuries, it's that accidents happen and any of your team could be put out of action for an extended period at any time.

So, actually developing the foundations of redundancy you've got so far would be in your best interest. And the sooner, the better it sounds like.

"I'm going to meditate for a bit." You say at last, before heading for your tent.

>>
>>5587696
I'm actually the QM of that one... Flaked because i have sleep disorders and a shitty factory job in a 3 shift system.
Sometimes my brain just turns of and i keep standing like a zombie staring ahead.

If you have younger male siblings teach them not to go for shift work.
A regular scheldue is what keeps one healthy, one's hair on their head and one's balls full enough to fire more than 1 shot.

The plan for that Rocket Redemption quest was:
>James has to beat 5 gyms and mostly apologize to the people TR harmed in person by either doing tasks helping them or prove to them they've changed.
>With the Rockruff starter and Rhyhorn he'd have spent a lot of time working with Brock
>Brock's mom and Jessie's mom are revealed to be siblings... Much to their mutual horror (but also explains why Brock never hits on her)
>On mount moon they face a newish threat called ''Team Comet''
>Battle them and gather a handful of inconclusive clues for Looker or our parole officer
>Battle Misty again learning about stuff
>Clues gathered at mt.Moon reveal Misty's parents being held captive by Team Comet which is why they've been missing
>Help them out along with Sabrina who's taken an interest in the case
>Romance episode along with therapy session with Sabrina's parents leading it via psychic abilities
>Next up challenge Surge who they surprisingly didn't offend and he just gives them some drills to move on after his attempts of hitting on Jessie are stonewalled by James
>With Erika she tests them about their grass types and has them gather rare plants in a dangerous privately owned forest.
>Finally they challenge Janine who's dating the now retired Gym leader Morty from Ecruteak
>They are given all their old mons back for touching reunion/training.
>They are given a job a the gym as gym trainers where they put their sneaky and upright skills to use in their own way
>The gym is attacked and Morty now a newly minted Fire specialist reveals it's the doing of another Fire specialist
>They track down some more clues and Blaine is revealed as the BBEG and surprise surprise Giovanni's dad...
>As Koga and co. are busy taking down grunts/elites TR have to help Silver take down his shitty gramps.
>>
>>5587706
>no Meowth
>>
>>5587709
Sorry skipped that part entirely.
Looker was supposed to have a female Galarian Meowth who in the end decides not to evolve into a Perseker so she can be with Team Rocket's Meowth.
He ends up working with Looker a lot as a translator/investigator and has his first litter of galar kittens at the end.
Those i guess picked up a bit of caveman speak but chose to be battlers and go for their full evolution.

Guess we can ask OP if any of the last litter are up for training with Alex.
>>

>>5587745

Interesting idea, I must say.

Keep working on it and yeah, I've got no issue adding that in.

You'd need to train to get the additional effects, but in principle, I like this.

Maybe think of something different for Rock though, or make it a fixed % of damage, because Stealth Rocks are *powerful*.
>>
>>5587944
Maybe do chip damage like stealth rock from PLA.
>>
I'll put together the theme for secret power then.
After learning the normal variant you have to learn to infuse a different type energy without harming the enviroment.
The pokemon needs to practice with that type energy to be able to use it (best via Natural gift burning through berries).
Use secret power fire via grass without setting it on fire for example is how you master it.
Then you walk into mastering the secondary effect through constant repetition and practice.

List of effects with all being 1in10:
>Fire
5 turns of sunlight
>Water
5 turns of rain
>Grass
5 turns of grassy terrain
>Flying
5 tirns of Tailwind on users side
>Bug
5 turns infestation on target
>Electric
5 turns magnet rise on user (i think Gareth's galvanize geodude can only do this one but does it easily after learning)
>Ground
Traps target for 5 turns
>Rock
Chip damage on target for 5 turns
>Poison
Applies Haze on target
>Psychic
Applies Gravity on target for 5 turns
>Fighting

Lowers targets Atk by 2 stages

You feel something running down your lip and when you go to wipe it, you see blood dripping from your finger as a blinding headache sets in.

Then Holly bursts in.

"Are you alright?" She asks in alarm.

You manage a weak groan in response.

"What did you do?" She asks.

"...Messed up..." You mumble. "...Think... think I need mo' practice... with Gareth." You mumble. "Got a headache..."

"Ah." Holly nods before going to your bag and getting you a couple of painkillers out of your first aid kit.

You take them gratefully before she leaves to let you change before you crawl into your sleeping bag and try to get to sleep as your pounding headache gradually eases.

Hopefully it doesn't persist into the morning.

I guess for most quadripeds it's like some tailored dog coats that don't drag on the ground.
Humanoid pokemon might like to wear open shirts or short yukatas.
Most mons are probably content with warm blankets that don't irritate them.
KayO would probably like a head dress or a coat that covers his back.

For hair cuts i guess those with manes get theirs trimmed or styled into mohawks, neat ponytails or maybe some even braid their pokemon but that's about it.
I don't think Sage would like either of those options tho as her hair being braided doesn't sound comfortable and it would loose it's purpose of letting her cool down.
For the Fenekin line most people probably just scrub/comb them down properly so they are neat and clean.

We could probably style the fur in the Fennekin line. Comfortable clothes tailored to specific pokemon could also work, if not then something as simple as a hat is a possibility.
I'm sure there is a market for pokemon clothes, given the amount of coordinators around and Unovan pokemon musicals.

When you wake up the next morning, your head is still sore, your mouth feels absolutely parched.

Sitting up, you're immediately struck by just how cold it is. The Frigoris Forest is apparently aptly named after all.

You're not actually cold though, at least.

On the other side of the tent, Holly is huddled up with Latios and Checkers, while when you look down, you see Sage yawning and shaking her head to clear it as she shimmies out of the sleeping bag, leaving you with several questions, chief among them, how exactly she managed to squeeze in next to you without waking you and why exactly she decided to go to that much trouble.

She ambles out of the tent as you blink after her, before you throw on some socks and shoes and go to get some water for tea. Headache or not, you need a drink.

As you stoke the fire and set the water boiling, you're joined again by Sage who settles in next to you and tucks herself under your arm and makes herself comfortable, which has the quite welcome effect of keeping the chill in the morning air at bay.

You can actually see frost riming the cliff on the north side of the clearing and Kay O-o is all but laying on top of the fire, opposite you while Latias has settled against his back and Blitz is curled up against his chest.

Looking around, you see Rascal has settled up in a tree in a huge, canopied nest, woven from sticks and silk. Evidently, Syurm's work, though where all the sticks came from, you're not quite sure.

The water boils in relatively short order and you fix tea before taking another couple of painkillers and after a moment's thought, preparing tea for Sage, who accepts it gratefully and drinks with evident relish as you ponder what you're going to do this morning.

Well, it's a nice morning. You might as well enjoy it and considering Sage doesn't seem inclined to move, you decide not to ruin the moment.

You sit in silence and just focus on enjoying your tea and Sage's company for a while before eventually, you finish and look down to see Sage watching you intently.

Apparently, she doesn't just want to spend time with you.

"You want me to teach you to read?" You ask after a moment's thought.

Sage yips and nods in confirmation.

"Okay..." You say, before realisation slowly dawns on you that this is going to be a pretty monumental task, thinking back on the years of schooling you've had.

Still, just because it's a tall order, doesn't mean you're going to refuse.

"Let's start out easy, then." You suggest, hunting around for a stick, before Sage offers you her branch.

You smile and start writing out the alphabet in the dirt for her, saying each letter as you complete it.

Sage watches and listens as you go over the alphabet, before you hand the stick back as she copies your handiwork, silently mouthing the letters as she goes, her own attempts at the letters shaky, but recognisable.

Once she's finished, you nod and move onto basic words and sentences.

It takes an hour and by the end of it, Sage is starting to look drained, but she's clearly picking up what you're teaching her.

"Good job. That's enough for now." You tell her, handing her branch back as you fix another cup of tea for the both of you.

You're surprised when she hugs you, but you smile and pat her shoulder in return, before handing her her drink.

"If you've met Meowth at home, he learned read and speak human by himself." You tell her as she's drinking. "You shouldn't try to go that far to start with - just recognizing characters and what words they form will be fine - but maybe try practicing with him next time you're home." You suggest.

Sage looks back to you and nods with an affirmative yip before returning to her drink.

One after the other, you confirm that none of them have been tripped or broken and you don't see any sign of anyone or anything having approached them either.

>>Breakfast time.
Cook up an omlette.
Check some berries if they are ready for harvest.
Award Houndoom with a red pokeblock and another one for Syrum since she did help Rascal get comfortable with the nest and built the traps yesterday.
Make sure all our pokemon know they can earn themselves pokeblocks by putting in good effort.

Talk to everyone while making Breakfast.
Tell them about the training plan until noon:

>Rascal you've seen how great Syrum's skill is. So i want you to learn Secret Power from her. The move doesn't require you to physically attack so you're able to practice it even if you are still sore morever i think it will be quite strong when you use it. Syrum i'm counting on you to teach Rascal. Take the whole time until noon if you have to.
>Sage after breakfast i want you to practice a new Fire move called Mystical fire. It specializes in burning special powers so the way i want you to practice is to pick an empty spot nearby where none can interrupt you and try burning a Light Screen with Incinerate. Try and adjust the power slightly and figure out what will burn the light screen OK?
>Latias i'm grooming you indvidually after breakfast then you'll be having speed practice with Latios. You can play chase all ypu like but don't wamder too far and keep close to the tee canopy.
>KayO i want you to try and teach Dragonbreath to Cotton amd Blitz while i'm grooming Latias. I'll draw up 3 circular safe ramges for you and some rocks for target practice. Afterwards i'll be teaching you basic boxing footwork and you will alternatively practice that in between showing Dragonbreath, Dragon Dance and Aerial Ace to Cotton and Blitz. That way you will quickly get familiar with moving about in your new form too.
>Blitz you aren't allowed to leave the circle i draw up until noon but you may run around within it if you want. If you manage to learn any of the moves KayO shows you i will specially play with you in the evening and groom you after.
>Everyone except KayO will be doing general training in the afternoon. I'll try and teach Kayo new moves. Buddy you've pulled your fair share of weight so you'll get a poleblock after lunch.

Say OP what do ypu think the mechanism and training progression is between Flash, Double team and Substitute.
>Flash
Generates a bright light via normal type energy to blind oponents
>Double team
Creates a light image/body double confusing the oponent
>Substitute
Sacrifices a chunk of ones energy reserve to create a body dpuble one can switch places with instantly.

I think the three moves might be related.
Substitute might require to learn Teleport first.

So, to condense:

Rascal learns Secret Power.
Sage (tries) to learn Mystical Fire
Latias bumps up Speed and gets properly groomed.
Kay O-o teaches Blitz and Cotton Dragonbreath, then Dragon Dance and Aerial Ace
Meanwhile, Blitz has to stay in a circle.
After lunch, everyone but Kay O-o does general conditioning.

And\or: Checkers does a Cut seminar.

Do I have this right?
>>
>>5592036
Seems about right.
For Blitz it's more discipline training than anything.
We don't want a giant arcanine act like an eager puppy and slam into people or pokemon.

When you return, Holly's still not up yet, so you take the time to start on breakfast.

You decide to do an omelette, which is a bit of a challenge in a camp kitchen, but after you've flipped it and cooked it through, the smell of cooked egg and grilled tomato and bacon is enough to lure Holly out of bed and have the camp stirring properly as you tend to the food.

"Mm... mornin'..." Holly mumbles as she ambles over.

You fix her a drink before dishing up breakfast for everyone.

"Wha's the plan today?" Holly asks curiously.

"I'm thinking we train." You reply. "Moves this morning, conditioning in the afternoon."

Holly nods.

"Sounds like a plan." She admits. "You mind helping me with some?" She asks.

"Of course not." You reply. "In fact, I've got some in mind..."

Noice.
Sad to hear work didn't work out for you (damn it me with the pun).
Wish you more luck with your next attempt OP.
>>
>>5592281

Well, no time like the present.

You wash up, then call Syurm and Rascal over, before setting Rascal to follow Syurm's lead in trying to learn the move. With the aid of the training manual and Syurm providing a practical demonstration, he's got the move down inside fifteen minutes, though some of his wrong attempts also have him manifesting another move, that after some searching through the pokedex, turns out to be Hidden Power, though you've got no idea what Type, precisely, his is.

With how well that went, you're bouyed and decide to do something more ambitious.

You call Kay O-o over and give him a pokeblock as thanks for all his hard work and help so far, along with scratching behind his ears before calling Holly over and outlining what you have in mind.

She agrees and calls Cotton over while you call Blitz.

When Blitz finally stops running around chasing flies, you draw a circle on the ground and instruct him to stay in the circle until you say so and to listen to and watch Kay O-o while he teaches a few of his moves.

This set up, you call Sage over next and set her up on the opposite side of the camp and set her trying to learn Mystical Fire. A bit of an ask, but then, so was Psybeam and she took to that with minimal effort.

It takes some thought, but eventually, you have her set up a Lightscreen and try and burn it away with Ember and Psybeam simultaneously.

She nods, before setting to the task with enthusiasm, while you call Latias over and pick up where you left off last night with regards to grooming her.

(Part 1)
>>
>>5593032

Now you actually have time, you're able to do a much better job of getting Latias cleaned up, properly clearing her down of debris and then moving on to giving her a thorough bath and towel down.

It takes the better part of an hour, but by the time you're done, Latias looks positively overjoyed and you have to gently dissuade her from taking you for a flight in return.

This taken care of, you set her to doing general conditioning with Latios and Holly.

A bit earlier than you'd intended, but you've not really been focused on general conditioning with her and it's clear Holly's been having a lot of success with it. You're curious about her methods.

She briefly explains that her methods aren't overly complex. Mostly, because up until Saltcoast, you've not really had much time or equipment to work with, so she's been making do at camp. She has Latios doing laps of the clearing with her pack stuffed with rocks and has thrown in some random, improvised obstacles and additional tasks tied to the local terrain.

You quickly empty out your pack and set the contents neatly aside as you stack it with rocks instead, before setting Latias to follow Latios's lead.

She flies a circuit, mimicking what he does, before stopping in front of you looking to gauge your reaction.

You set your watch as you speak.

"Good work, now again." You say, before you set the timer going.

She flies another lap while you time her, before stopping the timer as she clears the makeshift course in roughly a minute.

"Okay, now faster. Let's see if you can't do this in half a minute." You say.

Holly perks up.

"You too, Latias." She says. "Try and go faster."

With this encouragement, the course becomes an impromptu race, with the siblings competing both to see who can complete it first and to best their own times.

They're at this for most of the morning while you time them.

In the meantime, Cotton, Blitz and Sage finish up their training before falling to playing, Blitz completely forgetting about the circle he's supposed to be playing in and joining in on the play of the others, getting a little too enthusiastic as he's doing more and more as of late and tackling Sage into the waterfall pool, where she splashes and flails madly as she tries and fails to get out.

You wind up having to jump in yourself and haul her out of the cold, cold water while Blitz barks, still very much in the mood to play.

Sage, meanwhile is furious and shows off the results of her training this morning by hitting Blitz with Mystical Fire, which does precisely the opposite of what she actually wanted, by perking him up even further thanks to Flash Fire.

Just to clarify, she *is* the daughter of the CEO of PalmCorps, James Palm.

>That sounds about right. I have a feeling we're going to find out soon enough, with that stuff about the mystery call with Latias.

That depends entirely on how much you engage with what's going on with this particular arc.

Hiding out and training like this is a perfectly viable strategy, but depending, my choices for how to advance it are: Things resolve mostly off-screen, you find Holly a teacher and return to Salt-Coast.

Anti-climactic, but completely fair.

Personally, I'd rather not do this, because I've put a lot of thought on this, but I suppose that's the pain of GMs everywhere and I'm not the biggest fan of railroading.

Or, I bring the mountain to Mahammed, as it were, and force engagement with the plot.

You've done a pretty good job of nixing this option. I can still make it work without making it too much of an ass-pull, but it wouldn't take much to take it off the table entirely. Or at least put it outside of plausible reasoning.

Don't *really* want to do this, but depending I may not have much of a choice. Again, not the biggest fan of railroading.

There's also getting proactive on your end, but it makes no sense for you to do so outside of relocating and I've not given too much thought on how you'd do so regardless.

Details vary depending on how much you stay in touch with Fie and Detective Winters.

Long and short is, you finding out what that call was and whether it relates to Team Green and finding out more about what's going on here, is kind of dependent on your choices.

And at the risk of spoilers, the potential endgame of this arc has the potential to be wild. It'd also let me tie a whole bunch of threads together and set up future storybeats.

But ultimately, how this plays out is down to your choices.

Especially since Alex can learn pokemon moves and has a Latias that knows Camouflage...
Alex can pretend to be a ghost to pick them off and terorrize them.
Also if he can learn Secret Power and change it's type to Fire you're looking at one scary human discountkng the rest of his team.
>>
>>5593514
Syurm could make some nasty traps, she's really good with building with string shot and has secret power.
>>
On another note.
I think Alex's dream of having a normal farm life is gone with the wind.
He's a competent (if new) trainer that got in way over his head by catching a legendary (targeted for life).
If not police work he'll deffinetly need to work for the league and given his relationship with Fie i don't think he'll like any deployment away from her.

So my suggestion is:
>Alex reviews his plans during his next meditation session
>Short term plan changes to cashing in league rewards in echange for a bird guano farm concession on the coast of the island we're currently on (with permit from the local council/townsfolk). There's plenty of former Team Cracker members willing to put up with it for a well paying job. That will require some business advice from gramps/accountants.
>Long term plan changes to becoming a gym trainer at Fies gym along with becoming a certified breeder while building up a farm/stable near town as the family business.

The part of becoming a breeder comes naturally for the farm and due to how often pokemon need actual specialized care (again Ash was a chump without Brock).
>>
>>5593522
Yeah naturally.
Rascal knows Secret Power too, gets a Sheer Force boost on it and apparently changed the move type to Fighting.
>contactless 97bp fighting coverage

We can try for Grass knot/Shock wave/Mystical Fire/Reflect on Sage/Latias.
Haze to remove stat boosts from the likely bellydrum azumaril (the only mon these radical vegans are likely to train properly).
>>
>>5593527
If Fie's brother can have a normal gym also be a normal gym, having a gym also be farm should be possible.
And so her family's control of the gym system expands.
>>
>>5593534
I think it will be better if Alex is propoerly apprenticed under Emma and her cindition for him permanently joining the gym is to get through the league circuit and make it to a certain stage during the end year tournament.
>>
>>5593538
Alex did start the circuit to get money, having a promise of a job at the end does make sense. Specially if his dream is somewhat compatible.
>>
>>5593546
I mean the farm dream would require him to learn the breeder skill set anyway.
Staying attached to the fire gym also means business as they likely hold control over the pokemon stable business (no digital boxes here) which again is compatible with the farm/breeder work regardless.
Fire aura means we can do the part of fire spefialist convincingly and the wide skillset means Alex will be an asset that the league can't ignore so they will likely support Alex and Fies relationship.

For the initial busines plan changing to a quickly built guano farm (which should be an acceptable business for Halfmoon village) means we'll get a steady if moderate income (after paying workers/accountant/taxes) too.

"Alright, calm down." You chide Sage. "I know you're angry, but we're a team. No fighting team mates. I'll deal with him." You say.

She glares mutinously at Blitz, but nods and stalks off towards the fire, clearly sulking.

When she's gone you sigh and turn to Blitz, who at the least looks contrite, realising he's screwed up this time.

"Blitz, this needs to stop. This is the third time you've messed around with everyone and you nearly wound up doing Sage an injury." You say, firmly, but not angrily. "If you want to play, you're going to have to start behaving yourself. You disobeyed me and now you've made Sage mad with you. You could've played all evening, but now you're going into time out." You add.

He whimpers and looks absolutely shamefaced, but you're not moved. You recall him, before putting his ball on your belt and going to Sage, digging the towel out of the grooming kit and starting on drying her off, a process she's initially indifferent to, but by the end, you've coaxed her back into a better mood.

She goes back over to the others and where Checkers is demonstrating Cut for everyone and starts watching curiously.

"That was well handled." Holly says. "I'm glad I've not had any problems like that so far, I wouldn't know how to." She adds.

"Disappointed is a lot worse to hear than angry." You reply wryly. "Blitz'll come around. He just needs a wake-up call."

Holly nods, before sighing.

"Morning tea?" She suggests. "I don't know about you, but I could use a break."

"Sounds like an idea." You agree.

While you're prepping lunch, you send Fie a text, asking how things are going.

This done with, you go to the League sight and after a remarkably short time spent searching, you have a guide on how to teach canine pokemon obedience.

You're about halfway through the introduction when you get Fie's response:

++Winters confirmed presence of mole inside League. Your cached GPS data from when you reached the forest accessed. Assume TG know where you are.++

"Alright, change in plan." You say as you tab out of the manual and stow your pkedex.

"Huh?" Holly asks.

"Apparently, the cached GPS data from my pokedex got accessed and Detective Winters confirmed there's a mole in the League, so Team Green probably knows where we are." You explain. "I'm going to eat, then I'm going to set more traps.

"Should we move?" Holly asks, sounding nervous.

"Nah, it took us a while to get here with Latias and Latios and they were flying over some pretty rough ground. We ought to be good for a while, at least." You reply.

Holly makes a face, but nods.

"I'll send Cotton to scout for another campsite anyway. Just in case." She says.

"Fair enough." You nod, before you focus on meal prep again.

Lunch doesn't take long. You give Fie's Houndoom a pat and a few fresh pokeblocks for all the good work, then you make a few preparations in case you do need to tear down the camp in a hurry.

You look over towards the pond, only to see one of the Swamperts sticking its head out of the water as Checkers talks to it, apparently relaying a warning about the danger Team Green presents, before the huge pokemon submerges again with barely a ripple.

Holly sends Cotton off to scout and has Latios patrolling the forest near the clearing, invisible as you set off through the trees with Rascal.

Earlier, you were doing this with Latias, but paranoia's got you being cautious.

And as your old Ranger instructor once told you to, you trust your gut.

You set up extra traps on the south and east approaches without incident, but you're just finishing up your first new one on the northern approach - a trap hole - when you here a yell of surprise from further to the north.

You go prone just off the side of the game trail that constitutes a path and listen out carefully.

"Guess we're on the right track." A woman's voice says.

"String shot thread... yeah, this is definitely that stupid farm-boy's handiwork." A man's voice says. He sounds kind of nasal and high-pitched. Actually, on second thought, you can't tell if it's a man's or a boy's.

"Will you two hurry up and cut me down?!" A third voice, an irate man's, shouts, clearly audible. "Arceus, I can't wait to beat that smug prick to a paste!" There's a lot of venom there. This must be another thug you've floored in the past. "And that fucking Sewaddle!"

You make a mental note to prioritise that voice's owner if you somehow cross paths.

"Relax, the Sewaddle's the least of our problems. All of us have Golbats, remember? It's the Hakamo-o I'm worried about. Apparently it tried to kill Kyle. I mean, he pissed himself, so I believe him."

"Ugh, trainers are monsters in the first place, but what sort of psycho sets a Dragon-Type like that on someone?" The woman says.

"I say we hit him with Toxic." The man says as there's a thud as he drops to the ground.

"Nah, Stun Spore. You ever been hit with that stuff? Shit's awful." The second speaker says.

Then send out Sage, Blitz and KayO.

>>

It's risky but worth a shot capturing them for intel and to get Holly out safely up north while we circle their team and ambush more of them.
The Golbat will go down easily because
>Electro web is a multitarget move that slows them (if it hits twice it will KO alone)
>Blitz after agility can OHKO one via Thunderfang or go for Firefang on Sylveon whom he resists if there are no more golbat left.
>Sage can also finish one via Mystical fire or psybeam or straight up jump to Sylveon
>KayO boosting during surprise round and then baiting them via protect to snuff out hypervoice or moonblast/dazzling gleam lets us scout them out for the next round. If they are pixilate hyper voice sets KayO sweeps.

It's pretty obvious these guys have no idea you're nearby and you know roughly where that snare was...

A brief look in that direction via aura reveals three near-black auras shot through with oily rainbows, like a tar slick.

You can only assume that this is a teeltale of some spiritual sickness or something, because Fie's Houndoom looks nothing like that.

You creep through the brush on hands and knees until you're within a bare half-metre of the trail whereupon you pull out Syurm's poke ball and wait as the trio pull out a radio and check in, recieving confirmations from two other groups that have made less progress along the other trails you trapped, before they stow and start towards you.

You wait until they've passed before rising out of the brush like a ghost and releasing Syurm into thebranches of a tree with a good view of the area.

"Electro Web!" You order, pointing at the trio, who have just enough time to turn on you in surprise before they all cry out in pain as they're trapped by Syurm's net and electrocuted as surely as if you'd just tasered them.

"Good job, Syurm now tie 'em up with Sticky Web!" You order as the trio are still reeling after being hit with the Electro Web.

You've been hit by electric fences before and even if this is worse, there's no way these three are up to retaliating just now.

And with Syurm in position, it's not long until the three are cocooned.

They're struggling weakly and when you approach to relieve them of their poke balls and radios, the best they can manage is downright banal threats that you ignore as you go ahead and smash their radio as well.

Now, it's just a question of what to do with them...

And there's two other groups out there you need to worry about as well.

Have Rascal and Syrum lift them to a tall branch to string them up.
Strip them of any medicine they have and hang their poke-belts out of sight.
Spray some repel around them so they don't get munched on.
Memorize the exact coordinates and send them to detective Winters after dealing with the other two groups so they don't get saved by team Green members/sympathizers if our texts are tapped too.
Send a message to Holly so she heads slightly to the west to hide after packing up camp and recalling her mons.
If we are tapped this will cause the Greentards to rush (likely tripping in traps) giving us time to circle them and take them from behind like this group.

It's ambush time.
For the next group Rascal causes the bushes in one direction to rustle via Secret power before Syrum webs them again from the other direction.
>>
>>5596773
How about we trap their surrounding, so if anyone tries to rescue them, they fall into one too?
We would have to war Winters about it so the cops don't get hurt though.
It's not a war crime if there's no war
>>
>>5596929
The area is already trapped.
What we need to do is to make sure they don't end up as Spinarak chow so we don't end up in jail.
Using one of THEIR repels is gonna be enough.
Of course when we do send out the message to Winters we will warn her about the traps and that any agent should approach from the air.

After a bit more thought, you shake them down for medicine as well, pocketing a Revive off each of them, a couple of Potions, a Super Potion and a Full Heal each.

They all also have Max Repels, one of which you use to make sure these three don't get eaten by Ariados or something.

This done, you release Rascal and indicate for him to lift the trio up to a tall, sturdy branch and have Syurm web them to it.

That done, you note down the GPS coordinates and set off back towards the eastern approach with Rascal.

You don't return Syurm though. Instead, she's perched on your back.

You don't really have time to waste, so you're just going to fly-by these guys and hope their check-ins are every half hour or every hour, instead of every five minutes.

On the way, however, you send Holly a text, outlining what's going on and advising her to head further to the west.

This'll put her on the flank of Mount Diadem, but with how rough that's liable to be in the forest, there ought to be plenty of places to hide.

Hopefully, your texts are still secure.

You're getting the hang of directing Rascal by applying pressure to his back with your knees and feet, not unlike riding a Ponyta or Rapidash and inside of fifteen minutes, you're back at the eastern approach and come swooping down practically on top of another group of Team Green as they pant and recover after apparently falling victim to a swarm of Combee, judging by the honey they're all covered in.

Syurm doesn't even wait for your word, just fires off an Electro Web which neatly catches the three and leaves them quivering from residual shock as Syurm cocoons them, before you smash their radios, relieve them of their teams and their healing items before spraying them with repel and getting Syurm and Rascal to suspend them from a tree before you note down the GPS coordinates, remount Rascal and fly away towards the southern approach.

Internally, you're glad that you caught this when you did: All six Team Green grunts you've webbed so far have had six pokemon each.

If the third group is the same, then that'll be a grand total of fifty-four pokemon you could've potentially had descending on your camp, including nine Golbats and nine Sylveons, if the grunts from the first groups are to be believed and considering they had no idea you were there, you've got no reason to doubt the claim.

By your count, it's been fifteen minutes. Incredible time really, considering the circumstances, but you have to wonder whether your luck will hold and the check-in period really is by the half hour or hour.

You guide Rascal through the trees again, before directing him to land about fifty metres off the trail and recall him before creeping closer on hands and knees and checking the trail for tracks.

You don't see any beyond the ones you left earlier, so you settle down to wait.

It's not long before you see a trio of Team Green members, two out front with long poles probing the path while behind them a woman with green-dyed hair looks disgruntled as she looks constantly down at her phone, before stowing it.

"The other two teams are late checking in. They must've got caught in those dumb traps." She surmises as the pair probe past you and declare the path safe.

They walk straight past you and your heart freezes as the woman looks right at you with the most disinterested and glazed-over look you've ever seen before looking back to her phone.

You get a glance at a communication app before they're past you.

You stand up again and release Syurm.

For the third time in half an hour, she lands a direct hit with an Electro Web before following up with Sticky Web and rapidly entombing the trio before they can recover.

You strip these three of gear as well, adding a Max Revive and two more revives to your collection on top of the Max Repels and other medecines, along with another eighteen pokemon, before you put the trio up in another tree, make a note of the co-ordinates and take off back to camp.

"Well, it shouldn't be as pressing." You assure. "I tied up the Team Green thugs coming for us, so we've got time to have another, more thorough look."

Holly relaxes.

"Oh, good. I was worried we'd have to make a fight of it." She says.

"Not against fifty-four pokemon, we wouldn't have been." You reply with a grimace, before sending an update to Detective Winters, along with an outline of the traps you set and where they were, along with a note that you have their teams and supplies.

She's not long in replying.

++I'll need to take those supplies as evidence, but good thinking on the poke balls. I'll need them as well, but hopefully we'll be able to return them to their original owners. Will dispatch pick up now. Keep hidden, more TG about.++

The note on the supplies is disappointing, but if she sends you a reward again, it ought to more than cover the lost supplies.

More close at hand, Holly's done a good job packing up. Everything's ready to pick up and leave, the only thing left to do now is find a new campsite.

You head northward after confirming with Holly that Checkers warned the Swampert about what's happening, pausing here and there to rig more traps behind you and lay false trails dotted with yet more traps, calling Fie on and off and turning your GPS on for them as you keep working but by the time lunch has rolled around, you haven't found anywhere worthwhile or where Syurm could use Secret Power to make you a hideout.

The news from Fie is somewhat better, however: Word about what's going on in the Barrier Islands has spread and with it, so has the response.

Fie's dad arrived this morning, which you're not sure you'd class as 'good news', but he's apparently clearing out Dragon's Claw of Team Green while Detective Winters grills the grunts they've captured so far for information on just what the fuck they're hoping to achieve. Ian's apparently handling the Mantine's Wing while Fie cleans up South Crescent Island.

Word also seems to have reached Jacky, as she sends a short assurance to you that she'll be making sure the Timekeeper's Sceptre is secure along with Wendy, Fie's mum.

Also over lunch, you recieve a thank you message from Detective Winters, noting the green-haired woman with the last group is apparently a known Team Green Admin and that she's hopeful she can actually get good information out of her, along with an assurance that there'll be a reward for you and Holly for your part in this just as soon as she can arrange one.

And while this is all good news - you're still iffy of being this close to Fie's dad so soon, but still, he's helping - it doesn't change the fact you still haven't found a good place to camp yet.

Once lunch is finished, you set out again and the distinct lack of camping spots continues.

No trees, or closely packed stands of trees you could make a treehouse-style camp in, too much slope or scree on the ground, too close to too many wild pokemon...

You're getting properly up onto the lower slopes of the mountain before you finally, finally find an easily missed gap in a small cliff face, which, once Syurm has used Secret Power on it, gives way and allows you access to a small cavern.

It's cramped near the entrance and there's a six meter deep crack in the floor towards what at first you take to be the back before shining your torch back there reveals an even bigger cave beyond, that even has enough room to stand up in.

Still, you're suspicious. A lot can go wrong where caves are concerned.

This in mind, you release Kay O-o and have him use Rock Smash on a few loose boulders.

He crushes them to scree easily and the cave seems stable enough.

After this, you order him to go around checking the walls and making sure everything's stable.

Still, nothing collapses.

Well, it's stable and it's deep with a great big chasm you can use as a security feature.

First thing's first though, you need a way across that chasm.

And for that, you're going to need to make a platform that fits across the chasm blocking access to the larger back cave.

You tie a rock to the end of your rope and throw it across, before marking your end and pulling it back before measuring the length of rope you pull back.

When you pace it out, it's roughly three metres long, meaning you're going to need to make this thing pretty sturdy.

Fortunately, Syurm's demonstrated a real knack for building stuff, so you let her out and see what she has to say on the matter after letting out Latias to help her inspect the chasm.

When she comes back and after a bit of pantomime, you've got a bit of a shopping list of stuff you need:

First, you're going to need wood to build the platform and reinforce it.

Then, you're going to need to make mid-point supports for the platform.

Going by the little miniature Syurm weaves, she also wants to put in uprights and braces across the ceiling of the cave, which is reasonable and your first instinct as well, but you're going to need a whole-ass tree or two at this rate, even if they are saplings. Given how rough it is here, you doubt anyone will care or notice, but that's still an awful lot of work, considering you only have a hatchet and Checkers knowing Cut to work with.

>This is too much work. Keep looking.

"Alright, you mind if I borrow Checkers?" You ask.

"Huh, why?" Holly asks as you exit the cave.

"Because, we're going to need wood to make this cave properly safe and useable and Checkers knows Cut. Which will be considerably faster than me trying to cut down saplings with a hatchet." You reply, indicating the tool in question for emphasis. "In the meantime, I'd like you to help Syurm make some camouflage netting for the entrance."

Holly brightens.

"Yeah, I can do that." She says.

"Awesome."

You exchange poke balls, before you both explain the plan to your respective charges, before you head out into the forest to gather the saplings you need.

Surprisingly, this doesn't take long.

About fifteen minutes to the south of the cave, you find a small stand of saplings in a clearing that are about the right size for building the platform across the cavern and suring up the bigger cave.

You look around to see if there're any tenants of this clearing, but it seems pretty deserted.

You quickly release everyone and Checkers resumes teaching Cut, using the saplings as an object lesson and to your immense delight, everyone picks it up quickly, with Kay O-o being a particular standout and learning Slash into the bargain, the general technique being about the same.

You clean up the saplings and get them lashed into a bundle, which Kay O-o takes charge of, hauling the prepped logs back to camp, where you find Syurm and Holly hard at work prepping the camouflage for the entrance.

"Okay, take a break Checkers, you did good." You say as you lay the saplings out.

It doesn't take Syurm long to lash six of the saplings together into a frame, two acting as reinforcement for the four composing the main board, while you cut up a seventh to finish the ends and to make support struts for the middle of the chasm.

Actually setting them in place though, is a chore. One you wind up needing to enlist Latias for, so she can act as a platform for Kay O-o to stand on so he can use Rock Smash to make holes into which you drive the supports, wedging them in tight and packing the cracks full of debris and dust, before Holly has Whiskers use Water Gun to wet the make-shift cement and weld the cracks shut.

This accomplished, you set the board across the chasm and have Kay O-o walk across it to ensure it's stable.

It doesn't budge, so this accomplished, you venture through to the bigger cavern and take the measure of the height of the ceiling and the width of the roof.

Mathed out, you come to the conclusion that at minimum, to properly brace the big cavern the way Syurm indicated she wants to, you'd need another dozen saplings.

(Part 1)
>>
>>5600649

And given the updated miniature diarama she proudly shows you when you come out, that number would probably swell to three dozen saplings to properly brace the whole of the cavern complex. And that's before any further improvements she might want to make.

That level of logging would pose a risk of discovery just by leaving signs of your passing and the stumps you'd leave behind, but there's no denying that Syurm's ambition and drive for this sort of building project is infectious.

>Find another dozen saplings to brace the big cavern.
>Find another two dozen saplings to brace the entrance cavern and the big cavern.
>Find another three dozen saplings to brace the whole cave to Syurm's specifications.
>This is stupid. The cave is fine.

>>Find another dozen saplings to brace the big cavern.

We don't need to exaggerate.
For the cut saplings we can make Blitz practice Crunch on the remaining stumps to make it look like a pokemon just chewed on them.
They will likely assume it's a Bibarell with the river and forest nearby.
Unless we have a battle involving Bulldoze, Earthquake or Stone edge in there we will be fine with the minimum.
If we train any pokemon inside let's keep it to training one at a time.
While looking for the logs look up and download some more official guides for pokemon care and moves on League-Gym sites.
Iron defense is likely on the rock type gym site.
Pay particular attention to download all you can from the fighting gym site.

Also after we're done setting up camp inside.
Explore the smaller side caverns for any Black Tumblestone.
They grown in rock with granite deposits where they were exposed to dark type energy (ambient darkness or dark type move).
Their transformative minerals produced from further exposure to different energies are:
>Moonstone from moonlight
>Hard rock from rock type energy
>Dusk stone from further dark type energy

I read some fan guide on various Mystery Dungeon/PLA materials and how they are formed/used for crafting ages ago.
Tumblestones are crystals grown out of select rock sediments that are exposed to type energy and with further different exposure develop into various evolution stones, elemental items and natural held items.

>Red=Sandstone+Fire, becomes Fire stone with further Fire exposure (we need to experiment with Aura on this), or a Sun stone with Sunlight exposure
>Black=Granite+Dark, becomes Dusk with further Dark exposure, Hard rock with rock exposure or Moonstone via Moonlight.
>Sky=Calcite (such as Dolomite or Chalk) with Flying/Wind exposure, becomes Float stone with further Flying, Water stone with Water exposure, Dawn stone with Sunlight exposure or Ice stone with Ice exposure.
>Green=Clay+Grass(long exposure to plantlife), becomes Leaf stone via further Grass exposure, Moss rock via Rock exposure, Shiny stone via sunlight.
>Yellow=Pyrite or any other Iron rich mineral repeatedly struck by Electric energy/Lightning mostly found on coastlines, produces Thunderstones via further Electric exposure, Normal Gems via sunlight, Metal coat via Steel energy exposure, Everstone from Normal energy exposure

There was a part for some seeds, berries etc but i don't want to bloat more than i have here.

Kay O-o snaps up a barrier and Aggron plows into it, head first and actually shatters it with a noise like breaking glass.

"Low Kick!" You order as you watch as Kay O-o dodges out of the way before you throw yourself to the side in a roll.

The Aggron's sheer momentum is carrying it through, but Kay O-o coming in under it and taking a leg out from under it, throwing its balance even further out sends it tumbling down the slope uncontrollably and setting off a minor avalanche.

"Way to go!" You cheer as it comes crashing to a stop at the base of the slope in a pile of rubble, but to your astonishment, it's still awake and even now, trying to haul itself out of the rubble, its aura a ruddy orange red though it is.

Kay O-o can't reach it before it gets loose unless you miss your guess, but in the state its in, Latias or Sage might be able to safely knock it out before it digs itself out or scales the slope, though there's no question that Kay O-o would be able to knock it out if he did go down there.

"Okay, good job Kay O-o." You say, recalling him before releasing Latias. "Psybeam on that Aggron, Latias!" You order, indicating where the behemoth has just wrenched itself out of the rubble pile.

It roars and fixes you with an enraged look, before charging back up towards you.

Latias hesitates, clearly intimidated by the foe charging at you, before looking to you doubtfully. You meet her look with one of calm confidence, which has the effect of having her refocus before she fires off a coruscating beam of energy that takes Aggron full in the face and knocks it back down the slope to fetch up out cold amidst the rubble.

You pat her shoulder.

"Good job, Latias."

She swells with pride at the praise, before bumping you affectionately and you feel an upwelling of pride and confidence from her, rather than just a sense.

Apparently, those three words and that small gesture did more for her confidence than all the training you've done up to now.

Speaking of...

With a sigh, you start picking your way down the slope towards where Aggron is slumped.

Latias tilts her head in confusion before following.

When you're next to Aggron, you carefully place a Revive in its mouth. It swallows on reflex, before groggily hauling itself up and glaring down at you. The blind fury is gone, but a certain wariness is still present in its bearing.

"Heal Pulse." You say to Latias and after another moment's hesitation, she complies, bathing Aggron in a ray of pink light.

Aggron stands stiffly, then huffs.

It doesn't immediately try and attack you again, so tentatively, you start, with Latias's help, outlining the situation via a combination of pantomime and psychic translation.

When you're done, Aggron actually looks intrigued, before gesturing off further down the slope.

You look to Latias who nods encouragingly, before falling in behind Aggron as it lumbers further down hill.

You're walking through the forest for nearly ten minutes before Aggron stops at a stand of trees, examining them critically, before nodding at one, bracing itself and heaving, evidently trying to uproot it.

You catch Aggron's attention, before asking with Latias's help if it's fine with leaving a stump.

Aggron looks between the tree it was just trying to uproot, then back to you, tilts its head in a very skeptical manner, then indicates for you to go ahead.

You nod and release Kay O-o.

There's nothing stopping you just having Latias use Cut, but Aggron's going to need the help shifting the timber regardless, so you might as well enlist Kay O-o's help here.

At your word, he cuts off one of the tree's lower limbs in demonstration and a look of understanding crosses Aggron's face. It nods, giving you a wide, toothy grin, before you order Kay O-o again and this time, he fells the tree with a neat slice, sending it crashing to the ground.

Over the next fifteen minutes, Aggron busily hauls the stump out of the ground while you have Latias and Kay O-o cut the tree to size. It's hard work, but it's hard work that makes for good training and by the end of it, you've got a little under half the wood necessary for what Syurm wants to do and Aggron is rather happily cutting up dead wood, practicing the necessary movements for Cut itself.

This accomplished, Aggron and Kay O-o load up on logs, aided by Latias, before you lead the way back towards the cave.

Holly just stares incredulously as you return, her eyes going round as coins and mouth falling open for a long moment before she recovers.

"What on earth...?" She asks, bewildered.

"Long story." You reply as Syurm takes over and directs Latias to psychically manuevre the logs you've cut into the cave to brace it.

Come to it, you were teaching Sage Telekinesis the other week, maybe now she's evolved she'll have better luck with it...

>Set Sage to training Telekinesis on the lumber at Syurm's direction.

No, she was struggling with that before, so putting more pressure on her doesn't strike you as a good idea.

You're about to ask Aggron if it wants the cave after you're gone as payment for the saplings and the help, when you notice its gone in after Latias, before shortly thereafter, coming back out.

It grunts and looks thoughtful, before shaking its head and Latias helpfully puts an image of the bridge in your head.

Apparently, its concerned about the hole and the bridge not holding its weight, which is fair. No one on your team is anywhere close to Aggron's mass.

We can clear the suroundings of some larger boulders and get Aggron interested by showing off rock smash to him.
Also a good strength exercise for KayO and Rascal.

After we are done with the cave might be worthwhile to have Aggron teach KayO and Rascal Steel/Rock type moves (Iron defense, Metal claw, Iron head, Iron tail, Rock toomb, Smackdown, Rock slide) while they teach him their moves for utility (Cut/Slash, Rock smash, Low kick and Secret power).

It actually doesn't take long to push all the debris into the hole and when you look at it with a frown, Aggron beckons you over to the side of the antechamber and thumps the wall, shaking the cave, but it doesn't cause any cracks or reveal any stability issues.

The message is pretty self evident: The cave is stable, so you can dig safely. This message thus delivered, Aggron starts digging out the ceiling more, giving you more rocks to fill the hole in the floor, with, while simultaneously giving you more headspace and allowing you to stand taller.

Syurm pauses and chitters irately at Aggron as she comes back from securing another support, only for Aggron to silence her with a grunt before growling back in a very pointed, but by the tone, reasonable fashion.

There's silence for a long moment before Syurm subsides and gets back to bracing the main chamber with Latias.

By the time Aggron is done with the ceiling, the chasm is only about half full, prompting you to go to the walls and have Kay O-o use Rock Smash, prompting Aggron to watch intently as Kay O-o knocks chunks out of the wall before after about three tries, reducing a fairly large chunk of the wall to rubble and freeing up more room.

After this display, Aggron steps up and mimics Kay O-o's movements, knocking out another section before moving over to the other side and repeating the process. By the time it's done, the entrance cave has roughly doubled in size and you have all the debris necessary to fill the chasm fully, before you resecure the platform.

It's actually a pretty profitable endeavor as well, considering all the tumblestone you unearthed during the digging.

Eventually, Aggron nods with satisfaction, before giving a huge yawn and lumbering out of the cave and back the way it came.

Looking outside, it looks like night is falling. It seems like you were working more than you figured.

Well. For tonight at least, you can live without a fire.

You go after Aggron to try thank it and offer it a place to stay the night, but it's already gone when you exit the cave. Huh. It moves fast when it wants to.

Meanwhile back inside in the main cave, Holly's been busy gathering kindling and wood and has even constructed a very respectable firepit and stove towards the back of the cave, but hasn't lit it yet.

"This is good work." You say as you look it over. "But this'll be basically useless without a chimney. Actually, worse than, because it'll suffocate us without one."

"Don't worry." Holly assures, beckoning you towards the back lefthand corner of the cave, where she indicates a crack in the roof through which you can see the rapidly fading daylight. "See? That's big enough, right?"

You nod. It's big enough that if you were so inclined, you could crawl through it, but because you're not insane, that's not on the cards unless it's absolutely necessary.

"Yeah, that's big enough, but for tonight at least, let's just stick with the gas stove and lanterns." You reply. "Just for tonight, in case Team Green tracks us down again." You reply, before you go hang the camouflage net at the entrance.

When you go outside and look at it, you nod to yourself. If you didn't know where the entrance was, you'd never know the cave was there. Maybe in the daylight it'll be easier to spot, but in the gloom, it's perfect camouflage.

Going back in, you head to the wall off the side of the main cave, you mark out an outline for an alcove you can put the shower in. The longdrop you'll have to put out in the shrubs, but at the very least, you can shower under cover, even if you have to get a bit inventive to dispose of the runoff.

"What're you doing?" Holly asks from where she's preparing a stew in one of the cookpots. The meal's going to be simple tonight, but hopefully, you can make something more substantial tomorrow, one way or another.

"I'm going to make a bathroom." You reply.

"We're out here hiding from a bunch of thugs who, presumably want to meddle with time for their own goals and you're making a bathroom?" Holly asks with a grin.

"Hey, if we're going to be here a while, we might as well be comfortable." You reason. "Besides, we're going to need to wash eventually and I'm sure you'd rather do that in privacy rather than have to run for it bare-ass naked if Team Green finds us while you're in the shower."

At this, Holly bursts out giggling as she blushes and you can't help but smile yourself at how disarmed she looks by the comment.

It's nice just talking with Holly, now you've cleared the air.

(Part 1)
>>
>>5607493

With the preliminaries thus made, you get to work with Kay O-o and start digging out the alcove. It's slow going though and by the time Holly calls dinner, you've managed to clear out barely more of a handspan into the wall - a bare fraction of how much Kay O-o was carving out of the entrance cave.

You're not entirely sure why, because the rock looks the same as at the entrance and Kay O-o wasn't having any trouble there.

It might be that he's tired, or the rock is subtly different this deep in and harder for it.

Or maybe Aggron softened it up somehow.

Whatever the case, the alcove is going to need more work.

This avenue stymied, you instead start discussing plans with Fie.

She plans on mostly training tomorrow and possibly trying to catch another pokemon for her team, or find some to battle, provided they're not too strong.

"What about you?" She asks.

"If Aggron comes back tomorrow, I'm thinking about trying to train with it." You reply. "Any bumps or bruises would be good Heal Pulse practice, so maybe Latias could show Latios how."

"Hm. That's not a bad idea." Holly agrees, before you both focus on your meals for a bit.

When you're both finished, you lay out your bed roll, before settling in to do some obedience training, giving Blitz a pat as he comes and settles down beside you, the picture of contrite and well behaved.

Apparently, your decision to keep him in his ball for the day after giving him a stern talking to was the right move, according to the obedience manual you're reading, which is encouraging, but there's also a note about properly rewarding good behaviour, which you've apparently not been quite as adept with. Praise and pats apparently not being as effective teachers as poke blocks, meaning you could probably stand to make some more poke blocks.

You reach for the aura and start scanning the forest below before directing Latias towards a dozen or so purple-ish blobs dotting a section of the forest thick with white silk shining in the moonlight.

Finding a clearing nearby, you set down and turn your pokedex's tracker back on before sending a text to Fie to let her know what you're planning.

Fie giggles.

"What, a private forest clearing isn't your scene?" You ask.

++"...Hm... I'd prefer near the beach. Or a hot spring."++ Fie replies.

Another text.

++Okay, that's enough.++ It reads.

"Well, this is the best I can do, so I guess I'll pretty it up with Sewaddle's help." You reply.

You're not going to go in there right now. Nope.

That is a circumstance you're going to avoid, thank you very much.

This in mind, you sit down, lean back against the cool wall, relax and start meditating, before after a moment's pause, releasing Kay O-o to join you.

It's just as well you did, because when you properly reach that zen state, you're absolutely assailed by a maelstrom of low-level frustration, desire and anticipation centred about about six metres behind your back, beating down on you like the sun.

With Kay O-o there to ground you though, you manage to ignore Holly's... private moment...

A flash of blinding, all-consuming *rage* flashes through you followed by deep shame and fear.

It seems that incident is still weighing on his mind. As it well might, considering the outcome and his usual staid attitude.

Keep our coms at a whisper.

>>We'll work on it.
There are ways to control it.
We will slowly figure them out as you grow.
As long as you are aware that you need to practice self control all will be well.
Sit down and meditate with me.

>>I don't blame you.
I wanted to slug them too after what that guy said to Holly.
Leave slugging the trainers to me unless we are going for an arrest and i ask for your help OK?
Volta will be alright we will make it up to her.
>>
>>5610885
>I understand, and promise we'll work on it.
>Your anger is justified, yet controlling it is admirable.
>>
>>5610885
>Honestly, that kind of hatred against them is understandable and justified, the problem is that you got out of control.
>We'll work on it, slowly. The fact that you know it's a problem already helps a lot.

You nod.

"We'll work on it." You assure. "You can control that rage. You know this about yourself now. You've just got to learn how to master it and not let it master you."

Palpable relief washes through you and you feel Kay O-o relax at your assurance.

"I don't blame you. What that bastard said was vile." You add. "I wanted to slug him too." You add. "And Volta will be alright. Mum knows what she's doing. And we'll make it up to Volta."

A nod and more relief as you feel Kay O-o's guilt wane.

"Next time, you just focus on the pokemon and leave the trainers to me and Syurm." You say, earning a rumbling chuckle from Kay O-o.

Apparently, he enjoys watching Team Green struggle against String Shot just as much as you do.

Behind you, you can feel the maelstrom centred around Holly abruptly halt and there's the sound of scrambling behind you, shattering your own zen focus.

"W-who's there?" Holly asks with admirable composure, all things considered.

Kay O-o gives you a wry look, before nodding to his ball.

You return him, then stand.

"Just me." You reply.

"Oh, you're back." She says from the next chamber. "What kept you?" She asks.

Best not to open that can of worms. It'll be pretty difficult to explain that we were right in front of the cave, meditation just sounds like an excuse.

Also:
>I'm not walking in there of you're bathing.
>If you wanted to take a bath sponge or otherwise, you should have told me sooner. I'll go and get some firewood so you don't catch a cold.
>Best have Houndoom guard the entrance till i get back in 30 minutes or so. (Give her enough time to finish sunce getting nearly caught probably turned her on)

Also might be a good idea to start scanning more mons with the pokedex as we encounter them.
The scaning feature might have some nifty applications like revealing statistics or gender at least.
(That Houndoom Holly borrowed gotta be a female top breed for example)
>>
One question OP.
How will we get our hands on some Z-Crystals?
Komomium Z is our top priority but Fightinium/Firium/Normalium are also good.

You'd need to go to Alola. Or get really, really lucky prospecting.

"Just talking with Fie." You reply easily. "You okay? You sound a bit panicked. I didn't catch you having a cold wash or something, did I?"

Holly blushes and fidgets awkwardly.

"Er... n-not exactly..." She says carefully.

"I can go get some firewood so we can heat up some water for you, if you like." You offer.

She shakes her head.

"N-no, it's fine." She assures in a rush.

"You sure? It's no trouble." You reply. Even knowing why she's embarrassed and teasing as you are, the offer is genuine.

She makes a face.

"It's fine." She insists. "You just... caught me in a- a compromising position." She says.

"Com- Oh." You say, nodding slowly. It's as good a cover as you can concieve.

You pause.

"Would you prefer if I announced myself in future?" You ask.

Holly nods mutely, still flushed with embarrassment.

"...Did you know?" Holly asks at last.

>...Well, goodnight.
>Yes?

About what?
People needing privacy?
If you need some alone time occasionally that's perfectly normal.
Just give me a hint so i can give you some space.

"About what?" You ask. You know perfectly well what she means, but this is kind of fun. "People needing privacy? If you need some alone time occasionally, that's perfectly normal. Just give me a hint and I'll give you some space."

Holly makes a face, squirming.

"Hmph! You know what I mean!" She pouts.

"I do. And I'm serious." You reply as you go to your own bag.

Holly releases Houndoom to guard the door as you get ready for bed, releasing Blitz and Sage so they can keep you both warm.

Another huff is her verbal response, accompanied by annoyed mumbling, before she climbs into her bag and turns her back.

"Goodnight." She says.

You kill the lamp as you climb into your own bag, having to make room for Sage as you do.

You're not sure why she's as clingy as she is lately, but it's so cold in the cave right now, you're not complaining.

"I'm going to read for a bit." You warn.

"Fine." Holly says without looking at you.

With that, you roll over onto your stomach turn the lamp on again and pull out the berry guide you bought in town and start reading, being quickly pinned by Sage's slight weight as she shimmies onto your back to look over your shoulder, ostensibly both to look at the pictures and practice identifying letters as you read aloud softly for her benefit.

You're at this for an hour before the day starts catching up with you and you put the book down in favour of getting some sleep, but you got a better idea of what berries to use for poke blocks for Piker and where you should be able to find some rarer varieties.

As it happens, a lot of them can be found right here in the Barrier Islands.

Maybe after all this Team Green BS is done, you can go foraging...

With a cavernous yawn, you nod off.

Help Hollydeal with her lust and pouting.

>Wake up early
Let her have an early morning shlicking session.
We go gather some berries/firewood/bonnetes growing on the mountain side/crunchy salt/sootfoot root.
We can make some rice/potato mochi as roadfood/pokelure.
