You are Varlo Vanda, a Jedi Consular. Trained to bring balance to the universe (whatever that means). You are highly trained in force powers but have minimal training in lightsaber combat.
Your skills are Computer Use, Demolitions, Awareness, Persuade, Repair, and Treat Injury.

You're minding your own business doing cool Jedi stuff when you're suddenly interrupted by some refugee beggar. "Please master Jedi, could you spare some credits? I haven't eaten in days."

It seems to me that a Jedi would passively attempt to sense the emotions of the beggar, to gauge his motive. He could be a helpless beggar or trying to bait us. Either way, jumping to murder is a bit much. I could swing Dark Side, but it's not like he's a Sand Person or Awakened Vegetable or something.

>>"Of course good sir, please take 500 credits"
My KOTOR lore is lacking and I have no concept of how much 500 credits is.

My vote is to assess him and then give the credits if it's an appropriate pittance.

500 credit's a but much though.

You proceed alone to a certain cantina. You have a meeting to attend after all...
You take a seat by your accomplice. Jenssi, A fellow jedi.
He begins "Pleased to see you Varlo, despite your... unconventional choice of meeting place"
"Where better?" you chuckle "Do you have my new orders from the Jedi council, Jenssi?"
"I do consular. But first, your Master asked I test your wisdom. To gauge your progress as a jedi. A simple riddle."

You say, shooting him with two finger blasters.
"Very well Padawan." The Duros rubs his green hands together. "What does Bastila have 2 of, Juhani 1 of, and Jolee none of?"

He nods, "That is correct, well done. Such wisdom is to be expected from us Jedi."

"So what does the council want? Another blue milk run?" You ask.
"Your mission is simple: There are some missing Jedi; you must find out what happened to them, and send them to the council."
You lean forward, "Missing? What happened to them?"
"Who knows? Lost, imperilled, or worse: corrupted by the dark side of the force. You are to find out what happened to them, and deal with them appropriately."
"Firm, I'll do what I can."
Jenssi lifts up an entire Utility Droid from underneath and places it on the table, rattling the glassware.
"This is T3-M4, this droid's memory holds the identity and last known locations of the missing Jedi. He will accompany you on your mission."

Guys, clearly Dolomite just knows his chemistry and is making a clever reference to the philosophy of the Jedi.

In chemistry, the reaction quotient "Q" represents the ratio or amounts of products and reactants in a reaction at any given time and the equilibrium constant "K" represents the relationship between products and reactants given in a chemical reaction after a certain amount of time.

When Q < K, there are more reactants than products resulting in the reaction shifting right as more reactants become products.

When Q > K, there are more products than reactants resulting in the reaction shifting left as more products become reactants.

When Q = K, the system is at equilibrium resulting in no shift.

And of course, the Jedi seek balance, or equilibrium. So Q =K, and therefore QOTOR = KOTOR. It's perfectly obvious.

"Follow the Jedi Code" is likely the only answer you'll get from further questions. So you decide to cut things short.
You thank Jenssi and end the meeting. Proceeding back to your ship, with T3M4 rolling along behind you.
Soon enough you reach the landing pad and see your ship. The Ebon Hawk, a guile ex-smuggler ship. Pretty damn fast too.

Safely on board the Hawk, you sit down and inspect your new droid.
T3M4 beeps and boops at you in its odd droid language "Dee-reet-reet?"
"Yeah I don't speak droid." you utter, reaching for its chest compartment.
Aha! It contains a manual. You take the datapad and begin to read.
T3M4 can hack computers and electronic locks. It's also quite good at mechanical repairs.
It has weapon modules, so one could equip it with blaster pistols and standard droid mounted weapons like flamethrowers or tasers. Not bad.

You access the mission data and display the star map.
"So these are the missing Jedi.." you murmur.
"Ahh they are Padawans" Kreai whispers, "Where are their Masters?"
You ponder for a moment then turn attention back to the mission data. Five jedi. Five locations.

Regarding the Dark Side, there is something that I consider truly sacred in quests: Established Characterization.

We are Varlo Vanda. We do cool Jedi stuff, we are generous if we fucking feel like it, we have a sense of humor and a laid back attitude, and we clearly care more about cuties with big fat milkies than grand concepts of light and dark.

If anons want to lure us to the Dark Side, they'll need to do better than a menacing pose. Mace Windu was menacing.

You frown, and ask "You think they're being hunted?
"The Jedi are not without enemies, but jedi hunters would not have located and killed so many across 5 seperate worlds so quickly."
"Then what happened to them?"
"The pieces shall fall into place as you meet them. And when you do learn all you can: who sent them, what their mission was, why it was important."

You decide: first you get the data, then you fuck with their ship. If there's anyone on board you don't run into them on your way to their terminal. "Let's see what we've got" you mumble as you bypass the security. They've already stolen the hyperspace route. This republic cruiser was transporting precious Kolto from the ocean planet Manaan to Dantooine. The pirates' own logs mostly just describe what they've ransacked since they got here. But they do mention non-republic dead bodies and the aftermath of a battle in the Crew Quarters.

Better act fast if you're going to escape in time.
You use the force to give yourself a Burst of Speed whip out your tools and prepare to remove their ship's stabilizing coil. Good luck taking off without that!

[Repair] Roll 1d20 to extract the coil before the pirates return to their ship.
Best of 3 - at least one roll of 13 or higher is needed to succeed.

Yes! You remove the coil and start to rush out. But it's too late, the pirates are already onboard unloading their booty on the other end of the ship. You try to sneak into a room closer to the exit but immediately bump into one of them.

Caught red handed and she's wearing some sort of force resistant mask.
You have no choice but to defend yourself! You activate your lightsaber as she lunges with her Vibroblade. "Intruder!" she hollers as you parry her attack.
While she's distracted by you, T3M4 toasts her. Taking her out. But you can hear her friends rushing down the hall.

Roll 1d20 for your battle against the pirates. The higher the better.

Blaster bolts fill the hall. "A jedi! A jedi! Kill him!" they screech. Rushing in to attack you.
Although lightsaber combat isn't your speciality, your lightsaber style Soresu is very good at deflecting blaster bolts. Six of them, three of you. You can do this. You empower yourself with Force Valor and advance into battle.

Both sides fight hard. The pirates are mediocre opponents, but their numbers advantage and the medipacks they've looted make them tough. You manage to finish off two of them and make an opening to escape. You barrel down the loading ramp and run for the hangar bay door. Past the bewildered door guards deeper into the ship.
You use the force to Heal yourself and Kreia. There's no sign of pirates. But they know you're here now. What's your next move?

You can't use the force to heal T3, and you've got no repair kits on hand. You dash off to the nearby service bay and take a few minutes to repair him.
"How's that feel?" you ask.
"Beep dee-deet dee!" the toaster chimes back at you.
"Sounds like you're fine. Now let's see what we have here."
You place down the stolen Stabilizing Coil and examine the area. There are some inactive Republic War Droids in here and a bunch of repair parts. You and T3M4 could probably [Repair] them on your side for some extra firepower against the pirates.

You grab the Repair Parts and use them to fix up the broken droids. You can salvage what's left of them later. They stand tall, thrumming with energy, and start panning their mechanical heads side to side, surveying the area.
"I sense... aggression in you." Kreia comments.
"I'm just going to wipe out the pirates." you explain, "I could sense the evil in them. They're killers, and a danger to us."
The Jedi code is all about wimpy conflict avoidance but you much prefer to follow the Varlo code. You eye the old woman waiting for some comment or criticism but instead she simply says "Very well then... Let us see what you are capable of."

The droids march behind you, down the metal corridors. They're programmed to follow orders of Jedi. Soon you come face to face with the pirates. Looks like the entire crew's assembled. Your eyes flick to their leader: a grizzled looking man wearing old Republic military gear. Probably a veteran of Malak's War. Maybe even the Mandalorian wars too. A shimmering layer of blue light covers him, he's activated an energy shield.
"Well well, looks like the Jedi's come for us." he sneers, "Saves me the trouble of hunting you down."
"Screw you Moof-milker." you reply wittily. You leap to attack, and your droids open fire. The battle begins.

You use the force to Stun the captain. He wrestles against it but the power of the force holds him tight.
The power takes a lot of focus to use though. You don't have enough force points to follow up with a Burst of Speed.
You dash past his stunned ass to attack his minions. Deflecting the incoming blaster shots as you charge.

You start fucking them up with your lightsaber. Without vibroblades they're easy pickings. Kreia joins you in your attack, unleashing a Force Scream causing several to recoil in pain.
Despite your efforts to deflect, by sheer numbers they manage to hit you a few times. From behind you sense the captain scrapping your droids. They won't last long...
You're hurt, but you need to take these guys out quick. You've recuperated enough force energy to use your healing power. But then you won't enough left to use anything else.

"We surrender! Don't kill us!" cries out the Twi'lek.
"Mercy!" pleads the Duros.
You feel Kreia observing you with great interest. The Jedi way is to spare enemies who have surrendered, it is the merciful thing to do. On the other hand, you know these pirates are killers, through the force the death of innocents echoes faintly in them.

>"I'm here for a padawan do you know where they are?"
They look at each other panicked.
"Another Jedi? There was no one alive when we got here. I swear!"
"There are some dead guys with lightsaber injuries, but whoever did that must be gone now."

Makes sense, Jado Tane must of battled whatever dark force was aboard this ship. Won.Then departed in search of where they came from. Though he did ultimately fail to report his status. Maybe he ran into trouble at his destination.

You stare down the criminals. Ultimately you decide to give them a second chance and spare them. Although you don't really believe they deserve it. You make them tell you their names and make it clear next time they won't get off so easy. You return their stabilizing coil and send them running.

Now you just need to ascertain where Jado went, you proceed deeper into the ship with Kreia. Your exhaustion from the battle slowly fades. The force returns to you stronger than ever.
