You are Lieren of Nothing, native of Shangrala, genius philosopher, skilled warrior, loyal friend, diligent builder, humble farmer and hunter by trade, Primarch by birth/creation, respected by all men who know you, loved by many, and feared by the evil hearted and villainous. Having met with your brother once chained, Angron Thal'kyr, after he freed himself and the vast majority of the slave population of the capital city of Nuceria, the jewel in the mountains, Desh'ea, the two of you brothers sat down by the fire after you had cast off the identity of Kynigos the Ancient, to both your liberated kinsman and your own, self trained followers, wiling away hours as dusk turned to night as his army of former slaves rested and recovered from the rigors and trials of fleeing from the kennels of their masters into the vast wilderness of the world beyond the grasping claws of the tyrants who ruled over it, far from the eyes of the villainous high riders or their techno barbaric legions.

You spoke of your own struggle against oppressors and corrupted dynasties, you explained the means you sued to travel from the distant fogs of Shangrala to the sandy plains and monolithic mountain ranges of Nuceria, and revealed that soon your brother's armies of pit fighters and servants would be reinforced with the very best fighters and warriors ever trained and fielded upon your homeworld. However, it was then he raised a troublesome question, after you had briefly explained the nature of the primarchs and their creation, as well as the existence of their legions of adeptus astartes. Namely, the reason for you brothers twenty were scattered and lost amongst the stars, denied from both each other and your nameless father, The one day emperor of mankind.

While you knew speaking the total truth would exposed Angron to wiles and manipulations, whose potential as a psykerist remained latent and buried, unlike the scholarly Magnus, who surpassed your own psionic power and ability by several steps, you knew that you had no place or right to feed him the lie your father had instructed you to share. That evil spirits were "aggressive aliens" or "Non sentient Warp entities", rather than the ruthlessly cunning devils and emotional parasites they truly were. However, your other brother, Perturabo, who had been bedeviled by the presence of the eye of terror's gaze, which spoke of the man's own potential to awaken as you had to your spiritual and mental powers, had provided you with a half truth that while it was no deception and revealed in part the reality of the scattering of the Primark's, hid away the dangerous knowledge your father wished to keep hidden and only spread as far as necessary to protect those who may otherwise be ensnared by the beings it concerned.

So, as the gloom of the night and its chill are banished away by the warmth of the sun rising above the horizon, casting the whole of the untainted and untamed natural beauty of Nuceria's wilderness in brilliant shades of amber, red and gold mingled and cast down from the heavens like a silken brocade, you sit upon the hill that has become the only true free piece of land, far from the attentions and reach of the dastardly high riders, you take a deep breath and clap your hands togeter.

"Father" You begin solemnly, your voice lofty yet humble, carrying high into the sky and across the woods below it "Is a powerful man but one with many enemies"

Angron's eyes fluttered with understanding, as he envisoned a raid upon a imperial nursery or brazen assault upon a fortified lab from whence he, you and all other primarchs had sprung from "Nothing". He bowed his head, the briefest flash of guilt for suspecting your creator of purposefully seeding him upon this world so cruel, and keeping him from the brothers he by all rights should know as close and dear as the brothers he found upon the blood stained of the arenas which hosted the killings games that had wrought him into the severe yet passionate man who now sits before you, silent, and listening to every word that passes by your lips.

"Enemies that feared our combined potential so they either sought to destroy or subvert us" You continue on sorrowfully, silver tears filling your eyes as, subconsciously, the moonlight in your heart seeps from the wounds left behind by the long separation of your blood family.

"And they were right to fear us, see what you and I have accomplished in a single day of knowing one another" Angron barked, sneering with brazen confidence and pride "Were we twenty brothers rallied together, I imagine the entire galaxy would tremble and shake before our combined might, and certainly the high riders would be crushed beneath our heels, as they deserve"

"As they deserve" You repeat, nodding your head as Angron rubs his chin, revealing long healed scars that would be missed by any who did not share your inhumanly sharp perception and well honed attention to details others overlooked.

"So, how'd they get us away from our...loving father?" Angron says, his voice rumbling from his throat like the low growl of a dog defending its meal "If he is truly our father, he must be greater than you or I, if he has any pride as a parent, at least"

"The greatest joy of a father, is to see himself surpassed by his sons" You reply briskly, as mirthful smirk on your lips "But When fathers attention was diverted they struck"

"Diverted by what? Did they launch an attack that took him away from his home?" Angron questioned idly, picking at his chin, pulling dried patches of blood and scabs from the skin there

"I do not know everything that happened that day but the end result was the same they could not destroy us for our cradles were to well made" You admitted, shrugging your shoulders, eliciting an annoyed grumble from your brother " So they sent us randomly into the universe to spite father"

"Figures, couldn't expect you to know everything" Angron said remarkably blithely, accepting your apparent ignorance without breaking his stride, as it were "Then these enemies of our father are fools, if they couldn't kill us, they should've taken us as chattle or servants. Even the high riders know the effectiveness of a son turned into a weapon against his house, and their heads are filled with fat and wine"

A biting chill trickled down you back, and you swallowed hard, clenching your jaw tight to ensure you'd speak nothing of how that was the most probable intent of your greatest and most hated of enemies, and you were certain that they still schemed and plotted to make their ambition of corrupting the hearts, souls and minds of you and your brother a reality most twisted and befouled.

"Perhaps it was all they could do, as I said, I do not know everything that transpired that fateful night, only that it happened, and like so many seeds, we were tossed across the cosmos" You explain calmly, hands still pressed together, legs crossed and composure intact "Perhaps, they were themselves enemies to one another, and thus did not trust their co conspirators to not turn their prospective servants against them as soon as their backs were turned"

"Weapons too dangerous to wield, perhaps they meant to aim our cradles to the stars and missed" Angron said, chuckling through a grinning, friendly smile that look outwardly more like a vicious snarl, but your eye saw the truth

"Perhaps, Perhaps!" You laughed, leaping to your feet "Or perhaps, they were simply idiots, who were content in their mischief, and never thought to make our power their own"

"Well, it doesn't matter, if our father cares for us as deeply as you believe him to, then he's already killed the bastards" Angron stated, nodding his head once "So we have little need to concern ourselves of whatever plans they had for us"

Oh if only that were true.

"We should make more distance between ourselves and the city, can your friends track you somehow?" Angron stated, gazing out across the horizon, the crisp morning breeze breaking against both of you "Or is there a specific location they will arrive, that we should keep near?"

What do you do, Lieren?

>Explain that distance does not matter, and your reinforcements could travel to anywhere on the planet with shocking swiftness when they arrive. Then ask Angron what he plans to do with his army, once it is refreshed and battle ready.

>Offer your brother a spar, to measure his abilities and practice your four styles of martial arts, and see if any would match his fighting style

>Contact Magnus and introduce him properly to Angron, and enlist his assistance in trying to awaken his latent potential as a psyker

>See what your brother thinks of the journey, and test if he'll be accepting as other breeds/ forms of humanity, namely the beastmen you've adopted and Kanzeon and her sisters, as well as his views on alien life.

After the spar, give him some instruction on the art of war. At the higher levels beyond tactical while instructing him on the capabilities of our incoming allies, that he might learn how to best use them.

We can spar whilst we move, the men following us need to rest, but we can use that free time for sparring amongst our other duties.

Do we have any armor and weapons we can make for Angron? Me thinks if we have the chance, we should make him a shield. Something symbolic? One hand to strike down the enemies of man, the other to shield those from all its foes.

Should we be worried about Corn breaking into reality? He really liked this planet, and there has been some deaths, but I doubt enough deaths to warrant the attraction of demons to enter real space.

So Lieren will explain that distance does not matter, and reinforcements will arrive with shocking swiftness when they arrive, before asking angron how he plans to move his army

Before trying to contact Magnus, to Introduce him to Angron properly, and see to enlist his expertise in awakening his obvious latent potential as a psyker.

"Distance is of little importance, to be truthful. Even if we circumnavigate the whole of Nuceria twice and end up in some long uncharted wilderness in flight, or travel far beyond the horizon in pursuit of a broken host, my comrades shall be able to meet us with haste that would shock lightning itself" You say with a hidden smirk beaming with pride, though you were certain it could be seen through the twinkling of your eyes as well "We can march anywhere upon the planet, consolidate your forces in the furthest reaches of the unknown, travel beyond all maps, and swift as wildfire my forces would find us. There is no invisible line drawn somewhere in the sand, which would remove us from their notice upon their arrival. All of the sounds of this world shall be in their perception"

"Is that an inside joke or some kind of Shangralan idiom? Cause your tone makes it sound like its one" Angron said, relieved in knowing he could travel further away from the sight of shared trauma and abuse with his army "Well, I trust you aren't exaggerating in the swiftness of your allies, so we'll move from this camp you've prepared as soon as my people have eaten and...where are those old beggars gone?"

"Oh? The elders of my beggar sect? I set them out to spread word of our success to the rest of the organization, which will surely improve morale throughout the whole of this gutterborn clan I have cultivated, even in those locales whose circumstances of poverty and oppression are most dire" You explain helpfully, smiling as you move to begin boiling a pot of tea, having retrieved a suitably sized pot for two primarchs from within your ever useful satchel "Do not fear for them, for each of those men are as fierce as twelve..."

You pause for a moment, trying to remember if Nuceria has Panthers or Tigers. Closing your eyes, you ponder this question deeply, drawing upon your experiences as Kynigos the ancient and his dealings in the death games of the Arena, and finding, recorded carefully as any other knowledge gleamed or insight of the world achieved, an answer to this particular and admittedly quite petty quandary. Enshrined in your peerlessly vivid and sharp memory, is a brief conversation with your "Fellow Lanistas" of the city of Loc'ea, where they discussed the more exciting games they had been honored to staff. Including one particularly blood event involving cybernetically altered "Lions". Which were nothing like the Lions of the Kang plains, to begin with, they did not posses six limbs, beards or tassels that are common to all cats great or small and in fact seemed to possess, through augmentation or natural genetics, several off putting serpentine characteristics. Which was rather odd, as the wolves of Nuceria, were more similar to the wolves of Shangrala than they were different.

"Lions" You add, having spent by a splinter of a second wondering and remembering if Nuceria had any fierce beasts that would fit the analogy.

"For them to call you grandfather, they have to be worthy of your respect. Even the wastrels of the high riders are careful in adopting into their families. I did not fear for their safety, for I've seen how easily those fossils blend into the shadows" Angron said, seeming somewhat amused by your hesitation, that would only be noticed by one with senses and responses as sharp and swift as your own "No, I was hoping they could teach my men some of their tricks"

"Their teacher is sat before you" You say with a slight bow of your head "And as I said last night, I am ready and willing to follow your command, my valorous and unbowed brother"

Angron frowned, and began to think. He had plans for you, on the battlefield obviously. He wanted to fight at your side, both out of a boyish desire to play with his brother and out of sheer pragmatism, to have the strongest warrior in the vanguard at his side. And he wanted you at your top condition. Like a Lanista, he was weighing the risk of exhausting a prize fighter before his match against the benefits of him teaching his newly minted gladiators. Using the knowledge of the enemy to his own benefit. On any other battlefield, thinking a primarch would be at risk of expending even a fraction of their total stamina reserves, would be overly cautious and foolish to even imagine. But against the high and terrible technology of the high riders? Such fears might well become reality. Archeotech was a truly troublesome weapon to have faced towards one's own self.

However, you informed Angron with a confident smirk and relaxed reclining of your shoulders and leaning of your head, that you would be able to train the whole of his army without so much as breaking a sweat. And with a subtle turning of your wrist and presenting of your open palm, showed him that the tea you had been preparing idly to busy your hands, had finished steeping.

He took the cup of steaming liquid, and eyed it suspiciously.

You had decided to brew the freshest pickings of green tea you had in your possession, sharp and vegetable, and supremely refreshing on an early morning such as this. It had notes of unripe squash, wet valley flowers and raw sugar that blossomed into stewed peach if one steeped the tea repeatedly enough

"I suppose, it would be better for the master to teach, rather than the student" Angron said slowly, eyes narrowed as he swirled the steaming cup around in his hand "Lieren, what the hell is this"

"Tea, a plant native to my homeworld, it is a very popular beverage with many health benefits" You explain cheerfully, as you sip from your own cup, holding it gingerly between both of your hands "If you drink enough, it will sharpen and empty your mind of worry, though I would warn you away from it if you have an intolerance to caffeine"
Cont
>>
>>5393267

"Hmm" Angron said, taking a large gulp that would make any habitual drinker of tea pale in horror "Tastes like stewed grass. A better drink for talking strategy than soured wine, to be sure. The bitterness will keep us focused, I'm sure, rather than draw us into chattering like old women and starry eyed boys planning how to play"

"Oh? So you've already planned where your army shall march, once it has rested and recovered from the long march to this hill? And the exhausting flight from shadowy Desh'ea?" You ask curiously, as you move to pour Angron another glass, and wait for him to give his approval for a refill "May I ask, where exactly, we shall march and what our target is?"

"I've given it some thought" Angron said, and you know he has, as you noticed he had been considering his next move since he sat down across from you at the fire "And while I so very much thirst for bloody revenge against the Thal'kr, I know that attacking Desh'ea would be a fool's gambit, even as wounded as she has become and would risk the safety of the non combatants who were freed during my own escape. Lives of warrior, I am comfortable to risk, for it is our lot in life to die upon the sword? But maids? Grooms? Cooks? Masons? Gardeners? Artisans? They have no place on the battlefield"

You nod along, listening intently to your brother's plan, as you enjoy the tea you have made, and happily watch the first of the slaves to wake up and mill about the campsite, their eyes glimmering with tears as they realize their freedom was not some cruel fantasy

"And would only slow the real fighters down. It'd be a disaster, a bloody disaster" Angron grumbled, scar brow heavy with the responsibility now thrust upon him "Attacking a lesser city...could quell my bloodthirst, temper my rage, and satisfy those whose hearts learn for retribution as fiercely as my own, however"

"That would draw attention from the high riders. A mass escape is one thing? But a city falling to a slave rebellion" You astutely point out, shaking your head "For a time, at least, the violence in your heart screaming to be unleashed upon the black hordes of tyranny, must be kept chained and harnessed towards other ends"

"Sounds like you were in the exact same spot as me once, eh, brother" Angron says with a warm smile, the trust and appreciation that radiates from it filling your heart with a great and powerful joy "So, I was thinking, we need to establish a stronghold, a base of operations. My men are mostly cybernetically augmented, I have been as well though it seems from what you've told me, I've always been, however, that will still leave us at a disadvantage in everything except skill and experience, for the high riders will have a plentiful supply of implants of similar quality to even my own, and far greater numbers than we currently possess, even counting the civilians under our banner"

Angron grinded his teeth and glowered, shaking his head ruefully
Cont
>>
>>5393268

"And we only have the weapons we carried out or stole from the arena, which are meant to be entertaining, rather than effective!" Angron growled, before he grinned and drawled "It's going to be a challenge, the first of my life. How exciting"

"So, you intend to arm your brothers in arm with quality steel and armor, and establish the beginnings of a supply chain?" You asked excitedly "It just so happens I have experience as both a craftsman and logician, among many other things"

"More or less, we'll need to get food, water, walls and enough steel to defend ourselves first. Our augmentations would give us an advantage, but its one our enemies all share" Angron said with a quick nod, before beginning to rub his chin "So we should take and fortifying an abandoned fort, and harass merchant caravans or traveling parties of lesser nobility, to bolster our forces' position, to ensure we strike with a total advantage rather than a partial one. Is this sensible? I trust your council, considering you've done all this before"

Well, you started with much more gradual reforms and humanitarian aid, but one has to play with the board they're given and you find it incredibly unlikely that you could repeat the great leap forward you had performed for the whole of Long-Jia and the spread of prosperity and knowledge that had made it possible to begin, and you had neglected to bring any of your agricultural tools, including any useful amount of viable seeds, fertilizers or chemical treatments that could solve the issue of feeding Angron's horde. Though, that at least would not be a problem, as you know how to replicate and manufacture so many kinds of fertilizers and chemicals to treat and fortify soil that you could make some viable and scarily effective means of encouraging crop growth and yield out of near anything on any planet, as far as you are aware.

"I consider it a wise course of action to take, considering out current circumstances" You say, cupping your fist and bowing to Angron "I'll leave it to you, to prepare your army and ready it for travel. I must seek an audience with our brother Magnus, but shall remain near. You'll find me up higher in the mountains, closer to the heavens, and further from earth"

"Don't trip and die, I'd hate to lose a brother so soon after meeting him" Angron jokes, as you begin your accent
_

"Miraculous" Magnus states praisingly, as your astral form and his stand atop an imagined spire of sandstone and jade "To think he had such a capability, Perturabo I know has an awareness of psionic and warp energies, but I have noticed and detected none particular talent in controlling the energies themselves, and you say that Angron, our recently freed brother, has a "Particular ability"? Perhaps all of us Primarchs have some level of psionic power, even if it is ultimately passive in nature"

"Yes, he seems to be able to take on the pain and suffering of others, its an instinctive response, of which he is dimly aware of. He is also a natural Empath and possess a great fortitude of both body and mind. I believe he would take like a fish to water to the arts of the healer, if he could be taught to more efficiently and effectively harness these gifts given to him" You state proudly "Though he hides his caring nature beneath his scars, it is perhaps his most valuable attribute. The tenderness of which he treats his fellow slaves, and his concern for them speaks of the magnitude of his compassion, and how far his empathic ability extends beyond what is ordinary"

"Boosted by a psionic ability like your own talent at reading people was by your marvelous eyes, eh, brother?" Magnus theorizes

"Or born of it" You suggest in turn, looking over the vastness of the astral landscape "It is certainly less aggressive than my own truth seeing eyes, at the very least"

"Though none the less useful" Magnus says admiringly "I do wonder how both your eyes and his empathy function, as your vision can behold the reality of all things, while his, subtly, connects his heart with others, similar to the "Golden Sea" You have constructed between yourself and others, perhaps he could learn that ability as well?"

"Perhaps, perhaps" You state, now in quiet contemplation "Oh, I almost forgot in all the excitement of our scholarly discussion concerning the abilities of our brother Angron, and our brother conversation concerning his well being and character, would you like to meet him"

"There is nothing on any world I'd like more" Magnus said merrily, clapping his hand to his back.

How do you introduce Magnus to Angron, Lieren?

>By praising attributes of both men and their respective personalities, to give each an idea of the other's character before they meet

>Through an explanation of the findings you had with Magnus concerning Angron's ability, and how fully "Awakening" it could prove vital to the war effort

>Try and get Angron to sit down to learn to Meditate, so you can guide him to meeting Magnus in his preferred locale, the realm of souls.

Sadly for the moment Magnus will have to do the more heavy lifting for our chat with us acting as a calming sea to help and for once the thinning of the veil may be used to an advantage.

As the Visiting guest we first introduce Magnus
"it is my pleasure to introduce Magnus, the Crimson mage King, Inspiring Philosopher and our honoured brother. Meticulous, cunning, kind and a master of the sorcerous arts. He who helped me in my own darkest hour"

"Our host Angron of the Red Sands, the most recent of our brothers reunited to us, a man whose martial prowls and matched only by the depths of his heart. Leader of the free army and in time i hold no doubt; Liberator of Nuceria".

Then leave the call so they can chat and he can feel at ease while we watch over his people, give him trust and time with magnus

"I shall watch the freemen, while you two Giants so titled Red speak"

If Angron does function as a pain sponge for his men... Maybe he can use our mantling skill better than we can. Skills and attitudes at his finger tips.. and if he can broadcast? He'll be a terror beyond even the mechanicus's STC filled dreams.

And if even the dead answer his call?
Well... He'll never fall to chaos but he might just become nagash.

>Maybe he can use our mantling skill better than we can.
The ultimate core of the mantling ability is mutualism not selflessness since both are suppose to benefit from the mantling. He'd probably be a much better reciever however.

Yes. But with non specialised components. How much bigger and better would it be if we could connect all psykesmrs and guard them from chaos? If there's one thing that the emperor would throw his weight behind, it's chaos proofing Mankind. He backed the anti librarian faction during the Edict because he was not sufficiently convinced we/ let alone normies could handle exposure.

But if we added a second layer to the astronomicon? One that pre filtered the warp and allowed Psykerism to be widely used without risk?

He would prioritise it over the webway simply because of how much resources it would free up.

It would also play into our interests because it would necessitate primarchs being informed.
And if it could block Kruze's visions? He might just do a heel/face flip.

That was a brilliant punchline.

I'll call the vote in the morning and write the update then. Sorry for the long wait, but my house hasn't had power for the last three days, due to shut-offs, and I have thus been boiling in the intense summer heat, which was terrible.

Praise be the omnissiah! Blessed be the AC. calling the vote now, sorry again for the wait

By praising attributes of both men and their respective personalities, to give each an idea of the other's character before they meet: 5

"it is my pleasure to introduce Magnus, the Crimson mage King....etc": 1

Only when his people have reach relative safety, and the risk of being found by High rider patrols has lessened.:7

Tell Angron of our persona of Kynigos, and his work at the other noble city. We could return, and manipulate the nobles to support his rebellion, or feign death and start a conflict between the two cities.:3

Try and get Angron to sit down to learn to Meditate, so you can guide him to meeting Magnus in his preferred locale, the realm of souls.:7

Total votes: 12

So Lieren will wait until Angron's people have reached relative safety, and try to get him to meditate with him so he can guide him to Magnus' preferred locale in the realm of souls, where he shall then introduce the two by praising the best attributes of both men, so they may already know eachother to some degree when they meet.

Writing now

Sorry again for the wait.

<Artifact, catalogued as Subject Alpha Nu Gamma Rho Omnicron Nu No: <Data locked>. World of Origin, Nuceria. Date of Creation. CA <Data under reanalysis and recovery>.M30. Purpose of Artifact: Personal journal of anonymous writer, presumed deceased. Unusual properties of note: Unsettling reports of increased levels of aggression and willfulness among prior stewards of artifact, further testing required, storage protocols updated and readjusted per request of the current holder and scholar of the text, Ninth level Grandmaster <Data removed per formal request>.

Artifact Description: A personal Journal, bound in deteriorated leather sourced from no less than ten different species of livestock common to Civilized world of Nuceria, in the time of the rule of the "High Rider" Civilization. Initial genetic analysis reveals that a total of twenty three individuals of these beasts provided skin for the binding of this journal. It is paged with simple, grass based paper, poorly and primitively processed, requiring daily de-acidification to maintain the integrity of the original artifact. Due to prior negligences in the care of the artifact, and a period of approx. <Data corrupted> standard terran cycles under the ownership of the foul xenos warlord, The Ork known as "Zoggrim 'Eadgutz", former "Over-Bully" of the <Data destroyed> System, most of the writings within the deteriorated pages has been marred, written over, or completely and regrettably lost. With Servitor assistance, a number of passages recorded during the period of the "Gold Eye and Red Hand Rebellion", have been recovered.

As per request, the most pertinent passages shall now presented, unaltered and unabridged.

"We had traveled for days, under the watchful eye of the mysterious brother of Angron Thal'kyr and the Undefeated himself, the former whom, due to his mysterious nature and sudden appearance, was still, for the time, considered by most of our convoy with, at worst, uneasy suspicion and at best, wary respect. The two titans had become fast friends, due to their seemingly endless discussions, despite this "Lieren"'s strange insistence of speaking with stiff etiquette and unrelenting cordiality, and on the occasion he spoke casually, spoke more like a poet than his warrior brother. But Angron trusted the Iron haired behemoth, despite the peculiarity of his sudden arrival and convenience of the assistance he lead to us, hopefully the first members of a resistance against the High Riders. As I had previously theorized, this apparently wandering brother of our leader, is unsettlingly knowledgeable concerning the ancient technologies and magics used by the noble class in oppressing fair Nuceria and her once free children. I dare not speak my suspicions to Angron, or confront the golden eyed stranger directly to seek answer, though I fear he shall lead us to ruin with his careless attitude that shifts as suddenly as the wind"

>If you want to/ find a chance to.
Yeah! Angron never got the chance to find himself a hobby since he was fighting day and night. it would be healthy for him to find something to do when he's not fighting xenos, training his sons + soldiers, and crusading. Reading novels or learning non-fiction stuff is always good. Learning to cook is fun when you want to make something nice for others. Gardening can be calming and rewarding.

"We have arrived safely at the old fort, exactly where Angron said it would be, and have spent most of the day refortifying and preparing it for habitation. I must admit, I was wrong to think Lieren as a loutish, carelessly self indulgent sort. His gentle, seemingly thoughtless smile vanished the moment Angron spoke the order to repair the outer wall of the abandoned bastion, and a truly fierce and resolute expression replaced the lackadaisical mask he often wore during our hasty, anxiety filled journey to the long lost fortress. He worked like a machine, efficiently and tirelessly, his strangely narrowed eyes squinted further with concentration as he, with a wave of his hand, commanded stone to lift from the ground, as if quarried by a team of expert miners and set to work breaking, cutting and shaping it with his bare hands. In terms of the quality and variety of talents and professional skills, he was remarkable, though I doubt, even considering his greater height and breadth, that he was a stronger warrior than Angron. Though I shall not call his choice to use his strength as an architect and labor foolish, for, if it were not for his expertise and knowledge of architectural techniques unlike any I had seen in any construction upon Nuceria, we would all be sleeping in the bitter cold this night.

I have been chosen to take first watch, and give my life should Slave taker drone patrols find our hiding place, deep in the Desh'elika Mountains. Angron and Lieren, our honored leader and his odd brother, have gone scouting ahead. Though I find it obvious that Lieren seeks to impart some of his patchwork wisdom to his brother. I can only pray it is worthwhile for the struggle to come, and not something useless as penning poetry. For, a warrior leaves a more lasting mark on the world with the edge of a sword than the tip of a quill. I must learn more about our strange new ally, and figure out where he has come from, and how he possess such a varied and deep pool of skills and knowledges..."

<End of Pertinent passages>
_

"Is our brother waiting at the bottom of this still lake, Lieren?" Angron asked half jockingly, raising an eyebrow as if he half expected a third primarch to rise from the crystal clear waters of the mountain brook you had lead him to. You drifted around the pool, checking the ambient temperature and the natural sound dampening qualities of the spongey soil and dense rock that rose around it in a partial cave. A low whistle resounded through it, as the wind found a crevice in the ceiling and pushed its way through on the back of a silver stream of moonlight. A long dead shrub rustled in the gentle breeze, that had taken such a long journey to find its way to this isolated grotto into which you had lead your brother.

"No, but it is the ideal location for me to teach you a means to contact him and guide you in finding him in the other world, the world of emotions and dreams" you explain as you take in a deep breath to fully appreciate the tranquility of this space, tasting the wet stone taste in the air and the linger dust drifting on the currents of the strained, whistling wind "I speak of course, of Meditation"

"Meditation? Angron said bluntly, as he ventured deeply in the cave "I am to guess, the peace and natural silence of this cave, will help me learn to collect my thoughts, and empty them from my mind? Make it more open for...however our brother Magnus will speak to us?"

"Yes, though, we shall aim for you to reach such a state of mental clarity and empty thoughts, that you can project your own spirit into the Emperyan, as I and he often do, to meet in its wild, hidden places, away from any prying eyes" You say with a low chuckled

"I'm surprised you haven't confronted that idiot, whose scribbling down all his misplaced suspicion of you, as if you aren't the reason he is free to write, rather than being lobotomized and reduced to a slobbering rage machine" Angron grumbled, and that made your chuckle turn into a full belly laugh

"I care little for what others have to say about me, so long as their opinion of my does not turn so soured they would become troublesome to my ambitions or troublesome to others" You explain with a cheeky grin "Now, come, sit beside me, I shall show you my favored position to adopt while meditating, taught to me by my own thrice honored teacher, Guozhi. The Lotus Position."

Angron copied your posture and then frowned

"Now what?" He asked, as you pressed your hands together and lifted your head, emptying your mind of all unnecessary things and earthly troubles

"You void your mind, blank all thought and emotion and seek to achieve inner peace and control, to purge the impurities of life and its negativities, as well as its purities and positive aspects. Seek to become one with the stone, the air, and the serene waters here. You must become emptiness, thus, emptiness shall become you" You explain idly, having already turned your mind and heart into a white, soundless void

"Hmm, it is almost scary how quickly you can do that. One moment, you were a star of happiness, radiant and bright, and now you've become an empty space in the world, as unfeeling and emotionless as a statue" Angron said, showing he was impressed with a sharp whistle "Is it truly so easy, to simply, forget everything troubling you? All the dangers present around you"

"If one has mastered themselves to a similar degree as myself, yes. It is all a matter of self control, to quiet one's rambling consciousness and sever themselves from the world outside themselves. Few, however, can achieve inner peace pure enough to step from their mortal vessel, and walk past the veil into the Empyrean" You explain quietly, not wishing to disturb the tranquility of this sacred place, you could feel the footsteps of men long dead echo through the stone, lingering traces of existences and lives long forgotten in totality.

"Do you think you can replicate the state you are seeing present within me now?" You ask "and join me in the void?"

Angron remained silent for a long time, and you could see, faintly in the Astral plain, a blood red aura slowly flickering from within his heart, dying the grey waste of the cavern scarlet and crimson as he slowly awoke his spiritual self and began to, gradually, awaken his deeper senses. He had, within a few hours of meditation, without any prior practiced, reach the sought after state of "Nothingness" that many monks spent years training to achieve. Angron had entered, and become the void. But still, his latent psionic and spiritual senses and capabilities remained slumbering. He had not by chance, glimpsed a fragment of enlightenment as you once had. And now, his partially roused soul sat, cross legged, back bowed, flickering and transient in the vastness of the warp, a single lantern flame lit against the raging winds of an ever present storm.

You had witnessed such a thing before, in the training of the imitates of the wanderers in the fog, and knew exactly how to kickstart the "Waking of his inner essence". Pulling one palm from the other, you thrust it forward, and sent a pulse of Qi, sourced in equal parts from the ever raging fire of your soul and the cool halo of moonlight that wrapped around it and intertwined within it.

There was a great rush of air, as you sent a spark of golden light into Angron red soul. And it bled outward, saturated with Qi as you performed the spiritual equivalent of flicking his forehead to wake him up. Angron's spirit stood up suddenly, shocked and confused, half formed and only vaguely resembling himself. You could see, slowly, in his shadowy astral body, flashes of light emerge and burn like stars in a distant constellation, as the surge of Qi shocked his meridians to open up and begin to drawn in the natural, hidden energies of the cavern. They had already began to drawn in minute amounts of the ambient Qi here, but not in any amount great enough to encourage the awakening of, or activate his passive and latent psionic abilities.

>>5397652

And then, you ceased to interfere, and allowed Angron alone to teach himself how to stand and walk, as he first battled against the sensation, and then began to tame the energies that originated within his own soul, fed by the lifeforce flowing through this long empty grotto. And, then, harnessing the power of his spirit alone, bid himself to stand in the Empyrean, and, through his own struggle, found his own form of Psykerism!

"You are finally awake brother" You say warmly, reaching out a hand to him as his spiritual body slowly defined itself to appear nearly identical to his flesh and blood body "Welcome, to the Empyrean"

"Why are there so many colors" Angron gasped, having trouble adjusting to now being able to "sense" Qi, whilst simultaneously witnessing the natural chaos of the Warp "Its like I've stepped into a sea of dye!"

"Those are the winds of the Empyrean, take care to not be caught in them, some are more dangerous than others. Trust in only the power of your own soul, spirit and will. The powers here can corrupted and twist men and beasts in the most unpleasant manner" You explain, supporting him with a hand upon the crook of his back "Now, tell me when you have acclimated to this strange environment, woven of emotion and thought"

"Hrrn, it'd take more than flashing lights to make me unbalanced" Angron boasted "I'm just, surprised this place looks so different from the real world is all and that....you are on fire"

"Yes" You say calmly and with a smile "My soul is in a state of constant destruction and renewal. This conflagration of mine spirit, appears to be wholly unique to myself, for reason I cannot quite explain. But I am certain it is due to my own psionic awakening and incomplete enlightenment"

"Am I going to catch on fire?" Angron asked, deeply concerned "I wouldn't have sat with you for hours in this cold cave if you told me I'd burst into flames once I figured out how to meditate as deeply as you do!"

"You shouldn't" You laugh, as you subtly signal Magnus to approach, ringing the chime he's made for such a purpose, across the vast distance of space and time "Unless you think too much on such matters, then you may indeed burst into astral fire"

"That certainly doesn't fill me with confidence brother" Angron complained with a huff, crossing his arms as he paced around the cavern, which you had carefully warded with the Null denouncement charm script before you lead your brother to here to begin his meditation practice. Which he had taken to with incredible swiftness, even considering his status as a primarch. The two of you did not say much, as you wasted for Magnus to appear.

And it did not take him long at all to make his entrance, heralded by red sand drifting and curling upon blazing desert winds.

The moment before he emerged from the aether is when you took your chance to introduce your two brothers, with a praising description of both, starting with Magnus, as you leapt to your feet, and with a dramatic twirl of your hand, lashed it outwards to signal his arrive and draw Angron's eyes to the Red Giant of Prospero

"May I introduce you to Magnus of Prospero, a psyker of whom I have met but two peers by raw power, natural aptitude and simple expertise. He is a learned, scholarly man, wise in both the ways of the Empyrean and the material world. He is a just, dignified ruler of men, blessed with great intellect and comprehension of all matters of both state and mysticism. He is my better and my mentor upon the path of psykerism, and dear friend. He is possessed by a deeply benevolent and upstanding character, and blesses others with his friendly, accepting and ultimately welcoming and understanding character" You say, speaking as rapidly, loudly and proudly as a trained auctioneer "He is a patron of high arts, both cultural and spiritual, and the savior of the Prosperans, Behold Angron, the diligent sorcerer King of the red sands, master of the mind and true friend and trusted confident to I, Lieren"

Magnus smiled, and bowed deeply, seeming a little redder around the cheeks as Angron looked upon him with vivid shock.

"I wasn't expecting him to actually be red" He gaped as you traipsed to his side and bowed, presenting him with a wave of both of your arms

"And may I introduce to you, my most beloved of brothers, our valiant and courageous kinsman, who has endured great hardship to stand here today, and by his own power freed himself and his people from the heel of oppression. Angron Thal'kyr, The lord of the red sands, The unbeaten gladiator king of the cruel arenas of the High riders. Strong in arm and in will, yet, despite his strength, his heart remains kind and caring. He is of indomitable spirit, strong will, and powerful resolve. He resisted with every ounce of himself, the atrocity and vileness of those who wrongfully named themselves his master" You bellow like an announcer of a martial tournament "He is both empathetic and understanding of others, it was by his own design, that thousands of slaves were freed, to the risk of his own freedom. Do not let his rough exterior and demeanor fool you, his heart is for the people and despite his bloody past, remains as pure and virtuous as your or my own"

"You didn't have to do that" Angron muttered, his cheeks very clearly much redder than before. Magnus chuckled

"Forgive our brother, lord of the red sands, he has a flair and taste for all things dramatic, it is something of a cultural trait of most Shangrallan cultures. They are a very...artistically minded people" Magnus chuckled

"Though, I will admit without hesitation, that Long-Jian poetry is some of the most moving and emotional I have ever been privilege to read, their cultural soul is poetic and they devout all of it to their every endeavor. I offer my humble greetings brother, and my sincerest apologies that I was unable to help you before, But now, I shall do all I can to aid you. Tell me, how much has Lieren told you about Psionics?"

"Only how to meditate" Angron explained "Though I've seen his magical tricks, do you intend to fill my head with such nonsense?"

"Oh, we will teach you much more than mere tricks brother, and those tricks our brother has shown you, are but the surface of the great sea of our powers" Magnus said excitedly with a bare veneer of professionalism

"Mere parlor tricks, as it were" You chuckle as you sit down and cross your arms "Now, Magnus, Angron, Shall we begin the lesson?"

What do you and Magnus try to teach Angron, in his initial pyskerism lessons, Lieren?

So I have been thinking in general lads. We have a number of personal issues coming up.
Q1) Introducing the Ship Sisters to the Emperor
Q2) Reunifying our Legion
Q3) Helping the Eldar revive/rediscover their Gods [More optional but a plot hook of ours]
Now i've an idea for each but i was hoping for input from you all to discuss ahead of time.

A1) Frankly honesty is going to have to be best policy, we introduce them ahead of time so it is not a brutal shock to dad when he arrives. Now we do this by saying it was why we understood what he was, we knew beings similar but in mechanical vessels as opposed to flesh. This handles the initial telling him and we'll have to play by ear from there however when he arrives provided we get a heads up we have the Sisters station themselves ready to jump to warp if shit hits the fan. I fee Lieren would say "get out if you must i will not support him trying anything".

A2) We use the Marines we have had with us all this time as a new position; Arbiters. Their duty to spread the lessons of the Journey while we do similar. We can't be everywhere at once and will need them to keep watch of our sons. I do not suggest reinstating the old Legion master but keeping the new as to not insult pride, rather he stay protecting Liberty.

A3) Once done with Angron we do something for them, a thank you and showing we're on side. Pretty simple in theory but we'll see what task or options appear. We've not proved Elrad wrong yet for our brothe rmay fall in future, we must stick wards everywhere which leads to a deark subject matter.

-
I propose we speak to dad in private and ask him to reveal the truth to our brothers, the Great Enemy rely on mistrust and us lying to one another to tear us apart. They will still try to tempt them all so rather than the truth be revealed and their view on our side soured by said reveal we have them told the truth. It's rough but better they know and learn the threat than have it jump out, Chaos won't simply res tor leave them be.

>Q1/A1
I agree that honesty is best. If we don't tell him before he finds Shanagrala, taking him aside and making introductions pretty much right after all the pageantry that comes with finding a primarch works. Either way.
>Q2/A2
Giving the ~300 marines we have places of authority, rather than direct command, makes sense. Looking like Lieren prefers them over the rest of his kids is bad news, even if he doesn't actually. The arbiter idea you're proposing is more or less the canonical Consul-Opsequiari, which I dig because they're the old RT field police with new paint. Also, Dae-Hyun's pretty much Lieren's Equerry anyway, so formalizing that position and making it so the holder of office can't also hold a position of command would go a ways to put across an air of impartiality and fairness.
>Q3/A3
I think that we'll progress that more over the course of the GC. Fighting Nurgle-tainted shit and learning more about Khaine and his avatars will come through just exploring the galaxy and meeting eldar factions. There's also the whole allying-with-aliens thing. If we get any forewarning that dad's on his way, we can just have them go forth into the galaxy and be do-gooder outcasts. Then we can make our case to him about nice xenos, with Carys skyping in through the warp. I'd rather not risk some armyman/astarte/custodian/anyone noticing them and think they're doing good by killing a filthy alien infiltrator. Custodians particularly are worrisome, guys like Valdor won't fathom the possibility they don't mean harm.

Pretty sure we already set that up.

Sooo jumping ahead. What do we do when we see corrupted/tainted space marines?
Do we auto purge? Do we report to big daddy?

I'd say it depends, we could definitely mock and taunt them with our mark to make them reveal themselves. If they start shit we could break them with martial arts were they few in number. If in a difficult situation probably instant kill

Calling the vote now. Sorry for the long wait.

Work with the skills and powers he was born with, and try to awaken and expand his empathy and ability to take on the pain of others, see where his natural course of development will take him. Father must have given him such abilities for a purpose, after all..:17

He's a warrior, despite his empathy. He will more easily learn offensive psionic powers and techniques, so demonstrate some of yours and ask Magnus to do the same:2

Just ask Angron what he would do if he had the power to shape the world with a wave of his hand, and go from there:9

Send a psykic ping to Malcador and ask if he would like to meet our brother Angron, should he not be busy. Would he himself have any parting words of wisdom to offer? He is the after all the the second most powerful psyker of human kind.:1

inform them both about your ability to lend and borrow power from others:2

Safety lessons: 1

Total votes: 17

So Lieren will ask Angron what he would do if he had the ability to change the world with a wave of his hand to understand what he wants to learn, as well as working with the skills and powers he was born with to try and further awaken his empathy and ability to absorb the pain of others, encouraging the natural course of his development

However, before Magnus could begin sharing his vast knowledge of the shifting currents of the great sea, and the processes to harness them as well as his own academic findings of the matter of psionic power and techniques, as well as the sorcerous means he has learned in his once careless and incautious research of the deeper mysteries of the warp, its energies and denizens, you ask for pause and a chance to speak before he begins his lecture. A lecture he had most surely refined through his rule and guidance of the grand and populace psykers of fair Prospero, whom he had lead from a time of fear and degradation into an era of prosperity, erudition, and enlightenment, as well as sparking a resurgence of their cultural, scientific, academical and artistic pursuits alongside the traditional occult mysticism favored by those people traditionally. Magnus had began to take in a deep breath, so he could begin his speech of concerning what he would consider the absolute basics of the art, as well as his very well considered and cultivated philosophy and beliefs concerning the nature and usefulness of psionic powers, as well as the dangers and benefits of his habit of immersing himself in the wild winds of the Emperyean. He turned his ever shifting, prismatic eyes to you, closing his mouth as a familiar curiosity burned within those brilliant orbs of his, as his excitement to teach turned immediately into a desire to hear what you had to say, as was befitting between two scholars. There was no jealously, insult or offense taken when one interrupted the other to speak and share their own insights of the matter of discussion and lend their own knowledge of the subject to the discussion for the benefit of both listener and fellow speaker.

"Angron, before we educate you of the nature of psykerism and instruct you in the ways of wielding and manipulating your own psychic and spiritual energy to your own ends in both the temporal reality of the materium and the spiritual existence of the Empyrean, I must raise a question, to determine what exactly we shall teach you, for their are many techniques and abilities one can train themselves to wield just as their are many inborn talents that one may be blessed to hold upon birth" You explain simply and serenly, raising a single hand as Magnus nods in approval, seeing the worth of allowing Angron to choose the contents of his lesson.

"What our brother says is true, the schools and disciplines are many fold and varied even before one includes the powers may be referred to as sorcery, though they can be roughly categorized. Though the traditions of Psykerism and Sorcery upon Shangrala and Prospero have different names and variations of even these most basic and novice of powers" Magnus explains
Cont
>>
>>5402325

"And are refined and empowered to become wholly unrecognizable to one another, at least to an untrained eye. A matter which is not helped by Lieren's insistence to describe these powers and techniques through poetry and idiom"

Angron gives a curt nod, to show he understands what little has been said thus far.

"These abilities deserve to be known by titles that reflect the impressiveness of their power and versatility" You argue back to Magnus "As well as descriptive so a practitioner may understand at a mere glance the form the technique takes as well as how to properly harness and wield its power"

"Which, one unlearned in the rich culture of Long-Jia and the intricacies of its tongue and its use of symbolism and idiom in even its most casual vernacular will be utterly dumbfounded by the naming scheme used by the cultivators of Shangrala to classify the powers they wield" Magnus riposted with a good natured chuckled

"Are you ever going to ask me that question, brother? Or are you content to bicker with Magnus?" Angron interupted, to rerail the conversation and set it back on its proper course

"Forgive me, it is in the nature of scholars such as us to debate when given the chance" You laugh, as Magnus nods, but does not speak, so as to prevent another wayward discussion concerning the naming schemes of as well as the organizational methods of your two cultures "But, the question I ask you to consider, is if you held the power to reorganize and alter any aspect of the world with only the effort of turning over your hand, what is it you would change and reshape or bring into being"

"Or destroy" Magnus added shrewdly.

Angron closed his eyes and furrowed his brow and remained in silent contemplation for sometime. During his consideration of your question, you and Magnus renewed your friendly debate of how the two of you name and classify the powers you both share, as well as the differences in how these disciplines and techniques differed between one another in practice and use, no matter how slight of the divergence proved to be. Both of you were well aware of these deviations of the methods and means the psykers of Shangrala and Prospero used to wield their shared abilities, as well as the alterations between these same techniques and disciplines, and the initial conversation served only to lead into another subject that the two of you often discussed. How the culture, tradition, beliefs and history of your two societies altered the application and understanding of these powers and how it changed how practitioners would harness and control these same forces even when they were pursuing the same end result.

>>5402326

It was most informative as both an intellectual discussion and as a means to examine the complexities and subtle characteristics of the cultures of your homeworld, which in turn would allow the two of you to more intimately merge the accumulated knowledge and expertise of the pyskers of both your worlds together to form a more complete and total form of the craft by someday fully marrying the Cultivation and Psykerism of Long-Jia with the ancient traditions. practices, and wisdom of the generations of pyskers born and nurtured upon Prospero.

However, the moment Angron moved to provide his answer, lifting his head with a look of revelation in his eyes, you and Magnus ceased this scholarly back and forth, and refocused your attentions solely upon your brother and protege in the ways of the psyker.

"I suppose, if I wielded a power to bend and reshape the world to my will, there would be a great many things I would do with it" He explains somberly, eyes half opened and clouded by reflection and fantasizing about this theoretical power "Assuming I can use this power and wield it in many forms, and was not restricted to only use one form of it, I would use it as both armor and axe, to both defend the weak and attack those who threaten them. And I would also use it for"

He pauses and smiled

"Healing, mending wounds and undoing damages caused to both the world and its inhabitants. That would be a power I'd desire more than even the mightiest weapon and most durable armor, the ability to heal what has been done and spare those who would otherwise suffer or die" Angron stated solemnly, his head bow "To undo harm, but also be able to prevent it and direct it to the deserve. A bulwark that not only guards those who gather behind it, but also heals and raises them up, so they can stand for themselves alongside the shield that guards them?"

"How fortuitous!" Magnus exclaims "Your ambitions align with your natural talents, the gift of expertise and aptitude granted to you by birth. Though I suppose it should be expected that an empath such as yourself has a inborn urge to nurture and protect others, and shield them from suffering and pain, but the fact that your yet unrealized and untrained psionic abilities align to those goals as well, I speak of course of the power to siphon away the pain and agony of others and sooth their suffering that you subconsciously wield, will prove advantageous to your development as a psyker and expedite your training by several magnitudes"

"Seems my luck has been getting better every day" Angron remarked contentedly with a relieved smile
cont
>>
>>5402327

"It is very fortunate indeed, for the water of a stream travels faster when it is allowed to flow naturally than it does when one tries to alter its course" You observe, wagging a finger back and forth "Meaning, of course, that when one is left to pursue those endeavors of which they possess a natural aptitude, they improve more readily than they would a skill they have little or no capacity to learn"

"Well, I'm ready to begin whatever kind of training there is for this...magic" Angron says eagerly, his eyes glimmering with resolve and confidence "If it will give me even half of the powers I seek, it will be more than worth the time and effort I must devout to learn them"

"And we'll be able to teach you much more than what you seek, if you are willingly to devout enough of yourself to learn these practices" Magnus boasted, turning to you and nodding

"We both have experience in teaching others, but in the end, what you learn is determined by your digression and aims alone, we cannot force you to practice that which you do not wish to learn" You say with a bow of your head "If you wish to be a shield that casts a healing light, than that is what you shall become, and nothing more"

"But, if you desire deeper knowledge, I am all to willing to provide it" Magnus added with a wink

And so, Angron's training beneath Magnus and Yourself began...
_

"How could thousands of slaves, alongside the lord of the red sands himself, simply vanish into thin air!?" The lord of house Thal'kr snarled at the unfortunate underling who had been chosen to inform him of the failure of the numerous search and hunting parties sent after his family's most prized of slaves

"Do we employ nothing but incompetents?! If only Angron and a handful of gladiators had escaped, House Thal'kr would have only been shamed and mocked, but considering most of the slaves of ALL OF DESH'EA have disappeared into the wilderness with that unruly brat, we are humiliated upon not only the local stage, but on an international level! But that is not what happened! We did not simply lose most of our population of thralls and indentured servants, that alone would make us seem weak to both our rivals and lesser, but MY CITY WAS NEARLY BURNED TO ASH!" The patriarch raged, cybernetic hand gripping the throat of the messenger mewling before him, crushing the bones of his neck to a fine powder with a single clenching of his metallic fist "And not only that, but we have lost priceless technologies, irreplaceable and unrepairable! Artifacts of the golden age of humanity! Damaged! Broken! This is not only an unprecedented escape, this is a disaster greater than any that has before befallen my family in its millennia of rule and domination upon Nuceria!"
Cont
>>
>>5402329

With a roar of impotent wroth, the great lord tossed the broken corpse of the messenger at the feat of his closest lieutenants and eldest sons, who winced and cowered as he lifted himself from his throne, eyes squinted with raw fury as he cried to the heavens

"Our city is wounded and will take years if not decades to recover, we have lost much of our wealth in slaves and have lost lost that which cannot be found again or remade, wholly unique archeotech and rare technologies, damaged in that inferno lit by the ungrateful BASTARD ANGRON!" He screamed and raged, tears rolling down his cheeks "I do not know how he wrecked such devastation from within his cell, but I know it must be him! That crafty child had always found a means to slip from his chains. I had assumed he had grown docile considering his recent shows of obedience, but now I see he was biding his time...YOU! Record keeper, I want a complete list of the books he has requested from our libraries and the names of the teachers and tutors he has requested! Immediately, for I am certain he learned from one of them that trick he pulled to set all of Desh'ea ablaze whilst quaking the very earth of Nuceria itself! You, my children, will take every able bodied man, woman, and child left in Desh'ea, and lead them in pursuit of the faintest trace of Angron and the thousands of slaves he has stolen from us."

"YES LORD CERCYON! YOUR WILL BE DONE!" Servant and child alike bellowed in response as the near beggared lord of the Thal'kr and master of Desh'ea fumed and snarled like a rabid animal, twitching and shuddering in barely restrained, homicidal rage.

"I will not tolerate failure" Cercyon Thal'kr said with deadly quiet "Bring to me good news, or no news at all. Even if he cannot be found, we must prepare and fortify, strengthen ourselves anew, through any means necessary!

And with that, the exhausted tyrant sat back down upon his throne, a migraine gripping his skull tightly.
_

Angron's training has shown incredible results, and as you and Magnus both predicted, he is progressing with remarkable speed, to the point that, within a few days of tirelessly training, he has learned techniques to both heal and empower others through training his natural empathetic abilities, and he has also grasped how to actively take on not only the sensation of pain from others, but to bare even the physical wounds they receive in their stead, as well as how to increase his already remarkable fortitude and force of will and strengthen his already battle hardened body among other, psionic abilities and techniques, that he had asked to be trained in. One of these techniques being the Spirit's touch, which he had trained diligently enough to be able to retrieve and wield weapons as if he possessed an additional set of arms with which to hold them.

Though he hadn't quite yet grasped how to perform Cloud Walking, or showed any aptitude or interest in learning any of your self taught and refined psykerist techniques as of yet, instead choosing to focus on improving what he already knew and mastering the abilities he had already possessed.

The fort that served as the sanctuary for his fellow escaped slaves and gladiators, had also become much more lively, and within its walls, simple farm plots had been prepared and readied for seeding, and what food could be foraged from the surrounding wilds, had begun to be stockpiled and prepared in various means to persist in case of siege or famine. However, despite the improved Quality of life and comfort of living in the fortresses walls, Angron's army was beginning to grow restless with their circumstances and idleness in the safety they had found.

And Angron was as well, he was so impressed with his new powers, that during his nightly training and your daily scouting of the surroundings of his fortress, he would remark and talk tirelessly of how his new powers would surely give him and his men an advantage over near any force upon Nuceria and he began to frequently ask your and Oenomaus for advice concerning assaulting nearby cities or ambushing trade caravans that passed nearby his mountaintop citadel and would spend any moment not spent improving his burgeoning psionic powers or patrolling and defending the fort alone or with escort, training and drilling any of the freed slaves who were willing to learn how to fight just as well as his fellow cybernetically enhanced gladiators could.

Inevitably and soon, he would give the order to strike against the high riders, emboldened as he had become by the psykerist techniques he had learned, the windfall of security and welfare his people were experiencing, and your continued presence at his side.

Thankfully, Angron trusted you not only as an advisor but as a brother as well, due to all you have done for him and his people already, so he would listen to your wise counsel so long as you did not ask him to forgive his enemies, such was his growing fondness of you. Though, you knew you could not keep him from beginning his war for long, as the others he held highly were just as ready to charge down at the high riders and their armies as he was, especially his adoptive father Oenomaus and his fellow gladiators, who were growing more restless with the peace they had found by the day.

>To allow you to return to Loc'ea and use your identity of Kynigos to sow discontent and distrust between the Houses of Loc'ria and Thal'kr, aiming to start a war between the cities of Loc'ea and Desh'ea, that he and his army can exploit

>To test his armies mettle against lesser opponents and safer targets, to train those who haven't yet experienced the terrors of combat, and to increase his renown amongst the oppressed and enslaved

>That he should aquire higher quality weapons and armor to equip his soldiers with, before he antagonizes the high riders and their technologically superior armies

>To be patient and master the techniques you and Magnus are teaching him and calm himself. Offer to train his soldiers in your martial arts, to appease him into hopefully waiting for just a while longer before initiating the conflict to free his world from tyranny

While I am a bit worried about separating Lieren from Angron, Angron is going to need to subvert noble families eventually if he wants this war and its aftermath to go well.

This should synchronize well. Not only will it mean that Angron's forces can better equip themselves in preparation for the showdown with the High Riders, but will also allow combat experience among the fresher soldiers and the renown will help give his rebellion momentum and the slaves hope.

A thought that will probably solve itself, but we may need to bring up to angron.

Angron and his warriors are no longer gladiators, and probably need to learn how to operate in a battle line with an established chain of command, as well as in squad based tactics that they are probably not familiar with, as well as angron in a commander position which he is also most likely not familiar with.
>>
So what do you guys think our geneseed and Angron's now psychically aware gene seed will have on our legions recruits? Will the Chain Breakers have a Librarium? Will our geneseed mirror Magnus's and will awaken the psychic potential of our sons? Also, I suspect that with how thin our worlds warp barrier is our legion will have the most psychers in them amongst all the legions except the Thousand sons. Maybe our gene seed will manifest like Fulgrim, Corvus, or Konrad's and give our sons golden glowing eyes. Thoughts?
>>
>>5404521
>Will the Chain Breakers have a Librarium?
Probably.
I still really hate "the chain breakers" as a name for Angron's legion. It sounds a really try-hardy and one note. Angron's more than a rebel, you know?
>Will our geneseed mirror Magnus's and will awaken the psychic potential of our sons?
I heavily doubt it. Sure, Lieren's a powerful sorcerer, but he's wasn't designed to be able to power the human Webway like Magnus was designed to.

Old One powered Lieren would be so good. We've never really dominated a daemon. Always a hard won fight. Always a clever answer.

What if we received its training and guidance?
What if he allowed us to MANTLE HIM.
Even the Emperor or Isha would be impressed...or disturbed.

And as a bonus! Chaos wouldn't be such an OCP anymore.
>>
So I have a theory, Lieren being the scholar and poet he is has likely pondered what actually is a god. The most logical thing being a true got is something beyond time and space. The Alpha as it were, yet things can call themselves as such simply by holding great power making them a pretender god by definition.

>Lieren is in possession of several key pieces of information already.
1) The Warp and the Domains of Chaos are not the same, the warp is a wild land and the domains of Chaos are strongholds of the ruinous powers. The so called Gods of Chaos are not Omnipresent fall all would be their domain.
2) The chaos gods are not omnipotent either for they require much tribute, adoration and their powers wax and wane depending on many things even mortal words/beliefs.
3) We know the Silver Princes was born and how, that he was created through excess and as a dark reflection of the Eldar of old. This means they are in fact born things and not always there in a sense, more they “could be”
4) Malal the fifth was one such 'could be' an idea. That in of itself is not a god either for there must be a mortal to have an idea and thusly mortal would come before god, we ourselves are the proof of this.

Using this information alone we can determine each of the big players were born at some point in time and frankly their domains express it pretty simply, you can almost plot the mentality and personification of them.

>First there was Nurgle and Tzeentch
For Nurgle is entropy and the pull back to the primordial 0, Bird brain is the concept of change; that which made 0 into 1. Existance. They are the personification of these ideas/concepts that exist simply because life that is able to perceive order and chaos require them. They are legitimately thoughtforms. [not to mention they didn't exist during the War in heaven]

>Khorne the Angry child
Born from the struggle of the cosmos and evolution, the struggle of civilisation itself. Violence is the language of evolving flesh and thus the third.

>Last to the party
Finally the silver prince, opulence and indulgence only appearing in high species, no wonder it didn't exist before! It wasn't possible

We can thus very accurately determine the Chaos gods are unironically for lack of a better world; False. They are simply gorged predators hoping no one actually works it all out.

Dad'll love it.
>>
>>5405585
Quite the informative view on chaos anon, certainly interesting on how the choas gods aren't really "Gods" with unlimited power and knowledge
>>
>>5405585
And I guess that would have made the eldar gods or the gods of order mutualist creatures instead of predators, since their domain help actually help society and life.
>>
>>5405585
Emperor would call you misinformed

2&4) They have actually affected casualty canon says, they have always been. Heck even our accidental release of Malal made him "Always been there".
Ask Malal. (OP)

2) They have however reached the point of passively feeding off of the emissions of their respective domains instead of relying on worship.
Thus technically becoming the primary diety of that thing.

The 4 aren't primordial. They weren't there during the War in Heaven. They are products of the chaos that came after.

>>5405743
The Eldar and Korks are creations of the Old Ones. Made to fight the Necrontyr. They as species are designed with their gods.

But somehow. Shit got Borked and the Eldar lost access to their pantheon/Asuryan cut connection and had Khaine enforce it.

So the arrogant knife ears started sticking their dicks into everything. Eventually creative slaanesh.

You can see the Orks are designed to function the way they do. They still have their gods no matter when or where they spawn. They just aren't in a high WARGHHH! environment so they're still crap.

They're not Mutualist anything. They are intelligent design. Top down. Complete with bugs and glitches.
>>
>>5405761
I don't know, It's not because the pantheon was artificial that it stops being a mutualist relationship.
And there are still the law gods, like Arianka, Solkan and Aluminas. They probably are "natural" like the chaos ones.
>>
Oh thank goodness this quest is still going, I thought It was abandoned like so many other before it

Calling the vote now. Sorry for the really long wait, wasn't feeling well.

That he should acquire higher quality weapons and armor to equip his soldiers with, before he antagonizes the high riders and their technologically superior armies:14

To be patient and master the techniques you and Magnus are teaching him and calm himself. Offer to train his soldiers in your martial arts, to appease him into hopefully waiting for just a while longer before initiating the conflict to free his world from tyranny:6

To test his armies mettle against lesser opponents and safer targets, to train those who haven't yet experienced the terrors of combat, and to increase his renown amongst the oppressed and enslaved:11

Offer to return to Loc'ea as Knynigos:12
-to find ways to syphon their technology and resources towards Angron's army, and leak knowledge of the High Riders movement. An open war between the houses would mean that the common people would suffer, but a diplomatic conflict would keep them occupied, and allow to mask his armies operations.:3

-to sow discontent and distrust between the Houses of Loc'ria and Thal'kr, aiming to start a war between the cities of Loc'ea and Desh'ea, that he and his army can exploit:9

Reason that they in Loc'ea already follow the Journey in one way or another. And soon there will be no High Riders whatever they started their lives as.: 1

See how viable it is to introduce him to the teachings of the Journey, about the more mutated forms of humanity. Warn him of the dangers of the Warp with Magnus, how they tempt with aid and must not be listened to even no matter what. When we leave Magnus can continue.:1

Depart to tend to our beggar sect; see it spread and flourish then should any of our followers end up in positions of power/paperwork they can funnel us resources without anyone even knowing they are missing!:1

total votes:22
So Lieren will Advise Angron to acquire better quality armaments and armor and to test his army against lesser opponents and less risky targets to train his forces before he antagonizes their high riders and technobarbaric armies

Before offering to return to Loc'ea under the guise of Kynigos to sow distrust and discontent between the Loc'ria and Thal'kr in the hopes of starting a war between Desh'ea and Loc'ea, while also ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all the Journeymen there, no matter if they were born in the slums, stand amongst the nobility or service the bloody sports of the fighting pits.

So, as the sun set upon the fogless horizon and the hot air cooled as the whole world dimmed beneath a sky shaded in violet and blue, as Angron gathered you, his father Oenomaus and the other honored few who held the vaunted position by his side as both his advisors and co-leaders, men and women taken from the both the ranks of his fellow gladiators and the more educated amongst the common slaves. You chose then, as all of them stood around the map roughly carved in the bone white stones of your fortress in the mountains, debating and discussing the first move they should make in their courageous and noble rebellion and which strong-hold of the High Rider's they should target and strike first to reveal themselves to the whole world as their enemies and to the oppressed and enslaved as their liberators, to speak your own suggestion and urge your Brother to listen to your counsel over those men who became his brothers in the blood soaked fighting pits and whom he had known longer than yourself. You did not believe it would take much effort to convince Angron of the wisdom and cunning of your plan.

"Brother" You sigh, silencing the whole of the room, as you had not spoken once since the talk of strategy and war tactics began and in their surprise of finally hearing the mysterious kinsmen of the Lord of the Red Sands speak, all eyes fell upon and locked firmly upon you. In the dancing fire-light and flickering green chem lights, you shadow was cast as a towering giant behind your back, encompassing the whole of the room as you leaned over and pondered the map, carved into the stones beneath your feet

"I believe, a certain grim excitement has infected our righteous peers and brave comrades. The exhilaration of freedom has clouded their good senses, and know I mean no offense to any of you when I state this, for these eyes of mine have been trained to see beyond what is visible and into the very hearts and minds of men" You explain slowly, carefully measuring your tone so it doesn't seem like you were insulting the rest of Angron's council or singling out a single individual with your outspoken observation and critique of the course of action they advised and the plans they had made.

Tempers flared, but those who took offense from or were insulted by your words remained silent even if they eyes narrowed into fierce glares and their lips twitched as they struggled to keep from barring their "fangs" at you with a grimace or spoken rebuttal.

"So I can see, they only desire to avenge the wrongdoings of the High Riders and Punish them for their wickedness. However, presently, even taking into consideration their greater martial skill and cybernetic enhancements, it would be a fool's gamble to strike at the heart of the cancer that pollutes this plane" You say, allowing a steady flow of venom to drip into your speech to remind those who'd argue against you that you share their hatred.

Cont
>>
Angron says nothing, eyes squinted and half hidden in shadow as he sits upon his "Throne", a pile of rubble and broken axes he had piled together as no chair sized for either of your frames could be found and you had made it clear that the construction of such a seat would be a pointless waste of the army and free peoples' already lacking resources. His hands were balled together and held up to his chin. He turned his eyes to you, giving you his full attention as the light of fire and burning chemicals put a curious twinkle in his eye, and from the brief glance you exchanged, you could see just how focused he was as he waited to hear what plan of action you'd advise in the stead of a immediate, open attack upon the slave master

"For, as you yourself said, every man, woman and child within these walls, will want to join the fight against these monsters who believe themselves so high above their fellow man" You say quietly, readopting the manner of speech you used when you wiled and manipulated Gao Liwei to assist in his own destruction, though now you use it for a greater purpose and with only good intentions
There was a sharp breath taken, from Oenomaus, who realized before his youngers, what you were getting at

"And they are have not yet been wrought by the flames of battle and touch of sharpened steel" He drawls, bowing his head as he strides over to your side, a show that he supports your proposition even though he has not heard it spoken, which causes others to give credence to your words, as Oenomaus has been rather outspoken of his suspicion and distrust of you so for him to support the man he has been so wary off shows just how much faith he has in your plan and that trust makes those who look up into them listen more clearly in turn.

"Exactly, honored uncle, you of all men should realize it takes more than training and exercise to make a man a warrior, let alone a soldier of an organized and experienced army" You say with a warm, beaming smile, bowing your head in turn which confuses the old gladiator as he had hung his head in indignity and wonders why you would feel the same sting of shame as he felt in admitting the soundness of your plan "They must be tested, in true and deadly combat. Were they to be marched against the high rider's hordes"

"Many would die" Angron says sadly, nodding along "So you suggest, brother of mine, that we should test their fangs and claws against a soft target, one of the lesser cities or another band of outlaws who yet service the wills of the old houses?"

"Yes, it is the only way for them to learn what it is too take a life, and what it is to die. Only then, will they realize the stakes of battle and have their mettle tested and forged, toughening their hearts and readying their spirits for the bloody conflict to come" You say with gentle, satisfied smile

There were grumblings amongst the more violent minded of the council, but they were silenced by the twin glares of Angron and Oenomaus.
Cont
>>
>>5407718

"Then that's what we'll do. I'd like to avoid pointless deaths whenever possible" Angron commands with a booming voice "We'll prepare for our true war, by seeking out less threatening targets and weaker foes, so we can use them to train those amongst our army who were not born and trained for battle and killing. Lieren, I expect you have prey already in mind for us to pursue, since you were the one to speak up about the obvious, amateurism of most of our forces. Please, do not dispoint me"

"Of course, it is only logical that, as an army, the first objective we should complete should be arming the entirety of our forces. And it is only reasonable that, when equipping soldiers, a general should seek out the highest quality of weapons and protection that can be found" You answer immediately, lifting a fan from the sleeve of your robes to motion to various positions on the map with "Through the intelligence gathered by my students among the beggars and urchins and retrieved through my network within the gladiatorial arenas, I have found several locations that would best serve to furnish our forces with proper weapons and armor, of suitably high quality, allowing us to efficiently and quickly muster a fighting force of much greater proficiency and strength"

"Hmmrr" Angron growled as his eyes followed the path you laid with your fan across the map, before he turned to his father, who was scratching his face, head tilted to the side as he too studied the places you had marked as targets to raid and pillage.

"Of course, these stores of weapons will not be lightly guarded, however, as their contents are mundane swords, shields, axes, spears, and bows, they will not be guarded with the ancient technologies wielded by the high riders. However, while the are not as advance as the weapons they wield, they are better suited for war than the weapons you have taken from the fighting pit and the crude weaponry we have cobbled together already" You explain "And far more deadly, as they are, if my reports are to be believed, are made by the hands of truly skilled artisans and smiths out of the highest quality metals. They are the weapons the high riders would give to their soldiers, before risking their inherited archeotech on the field or before a conflict escalated enough to necisitate such destructive devices"

"So we'll be on equal footing with the armies first sent after us, once we've been exposed"Angron surmise, several former gladiators, including Oenomaus nod as well, seeing the wisdom of your scheme fully now "Which will allow us to overcome them, and draw out hunting parties carrying their actual weapons, and as they'll underestimate us, since we would not have crushed their forces they consider elite"
Cont
>>
>>5407720

"You will, once the war begins, already have a supply of the enemy's own weaponry" You say with a predatory grin, which causes most of your fellow advisors to step back or shiver in instinctual fear "Assuming of course, my own forces do not arrive before such an occurrence"

"Hmmrmph" Angron chuckled "Well, unless there is another part of you plan to be told, we'll begin planning which of these armories we'll hit and break open first

You glide over to your brother's side and place a hand on his shoulder.

"Actually, my dear brother, I do have a request to make. I do not believe my talents would serve much use in these raids, they will be simple, unhazardous affairs. As such, the presence of two primarchs is utterly unnecessary and overly destructive" You say humbly, cupping your fist "So, I would offer instead, to use my experience of deception and trickery, to distract and turn away the eyes of the tyrants, so they may be, when the time is right, caught unaware by the emergence of your army, Angron"

"Oh?" Angron asks curiously "How do you intend to do that"

With a wave of your hand and a rushing of air, smoke and fog, Kynigos once more stood in the place of Lieren.

"Kynigos shall return to his masters, and, with the assistance of those who realize the monstrosity of their kin and their sinful ways, the warriors he trained and the beggars who gather beneath his banner, strike the sparks of war between the hounds of Loc'ria and the stallions of the Thal'kr" You cackle, grabbing the staff you had left propped against the wall as you look up into your brother's eyes "Allow me to show you the power of unity between classes, and the strength of the shared faith and understanding of the virtuous and wise!"

"You have my permission, brother, to weave your web to strangle the throats of two cities" Angron snarled in response, voice booming with approval and praise. Praise that is soon repeated by the other gather advisors, even Oenomaus claps his hands together to show his approval of your cunning strategy.

And so, you set off to begin setting in place the kindling from which would hopefully spark and all out war, and to warn your kindred spirits and minds with the nobility of Loc'ea and in the gutters of all of Nuceria of the war soon to come, both from the Thal'kr and Your brother, in the hopes they would survive the turmoil to replace their repugnant and corrupted relatives and live to join Angron's struggle and hopefully to assist in the rebuilding and restructuring of Nuceria's society into whatever form it would take come the end of the rebellion.

How do you attempt to manipulate the Loc'ria and Thal'kr into fighting eachother, Lieren.

>By claiming that the Thal'kr tried to rob and kill you during your visit, knowing they will have no way of defending themselves and the Lycuarch will be enraged by the attempt on the life of his favored herald, diplomat and confidant

>By weaving a tale of treachery and disrespect, telling how you were imprisoned for speaking against the insults and slanders leveled by the Thal'kr and their underlings toward fair Loc'ea and her people! The innate pride of nobility should do the rest of the job

>By coordinating with Angron's raiding forces and your beggar sect, to disguise his marauding and your secretive undermining of their endeavors and ambitions as the work of House Thal'kr!

>There's no reason to work from the shadows, you have enough allies in House Loc'ria to overthrow and do away with the tyrants amongst their bloodline. Lead the Journeymen of Loc'ea into an open revolt, and instate Kynigos as the leader/figure head of the newly freed city so Angron may have one "ally" amongst the cities.

The most cunning of schemes, we will Englragr the two cities against one another if not more by weaving a story of how we were captured and they attempted to sway us to their side after the Great Escape for they planned to move against us!

Angrons men can do their raiding of soft targets and we will lay signs that other cities did these attacks. Angron's men will gain their experience and we will lead hunting groups of Loc'ria against the armies of against Thal'kr! Our disguise will grant us a four fold boon

1) we will rise ranks and gather those with virtue to our side while cleaning the enemy of the rival city
2) we can cleanse our own ranks of the most evil
3) we will be able to get Angron more men, equipment and time
4) when Angron finally goes fully loud we will be in command of the Loc'ea army whom by selective attrition will be ready to flip sides!

Is there any reason to go full Alpharius and have a convoluted plan when we can just arrange a coup and back angron when the war starts proper while beforehand either spreading the revolution like we did in Loc'ria or pitting thoroughly corrupt cities against the Thal'kr block? I trust Lieren to understand the value of a quiet coup.

On another note was there any primarchs other then Mortarion, Kurze, and Lorger who had serious trouble before being found? Corax managed to pull a Lieren correct? I half remember something about him either failing or having to hand his planet to the cog boys who founded the colony in the first place and they had the benefit of FTL communication with their colonies at the time.

The Primarch of the Luna Wolves was intrigued by this Mistbound world, it was almost a scene from ancient Terran myth what with rolling fields, full oceans and rolling rivers. Everything was so green and verdant the aromas of nature tickling his augmented senses for such things were as alien to him as the worlds architecture.

He was met by a formal procession of base born soldiers whom records show had left the Throneworld round twenty years prior. All these soldiers so much older now yet looking so dignified and disciplined still age having been kind to them all? But their wellness was not the only thing to catch his eye, he saw their armour was no longer the Terran produced variety nor their weapons, instead sleek and semi powered armours, miniaturised Multi-las weapons, their tanks no longer belched smoke nor crawled upon treads instead now gently humming upon grav engines.

Forming a long line either side of a path laid in petals stood giants whom it took a moment for Horus to recognise as Astartes! Yet their armour was different, elegant and less bulky? Similar to those men in formation behind them, their helms rather than bucket like with eye visors were now streamlined and featureless, yet he felt eyes watching him through their reflective surfaces... what would the Mechanicus make of such...unorthodox changes.

He was guided swiftly down the floral littered road of pale stone and strangely enough away from the glittering city instead towards a small glade. At first doubt crossed his mind, was he going to be made to wait? The Emperor their father had claimed the Primarch of the second to be anything but rude rather he was described as overly polite and humble oh how he'd longed to meet a fellow Primarch more civil than Russ.

The guides were silent for the most part only talking in their flamboyant manner to describe or name the odd statue he'd pass along the way; heroes of his Brothers own unification war each carved by hand. Finally he found himself in a small area separated from the res tof the glade by a rolling stream around a small island, upon this island under a blossoming tree sat a figure in simple robes facing away from him, hair coloured like rough iron gently blowing in the wind where it was not tied into a bun. The figure, his brother was talking to a pack of gathered mutants whom if not for Malcador's warning he'd have been disgusted by but he did his best to hide his thoughts upon such matters.

“Brother?” He said announcing himself.

The figure rose and turned to him and instantly he felt himself tense, he blinked but Golden eyes still bore into him. He opened them again to see a smiling face chipped with scars and a great brand upon his forehead. It was an odd feeling, the man seemed so peaceful and friendly but Horus felt like he was been approached by some looming threat as the figure walked up to him, at one point drifting though the air slowly, delicately as if carried by an unseen breeze before him. That kind smile and those eyes... it was as he'd been warned, Lieren by simply sighting him had taken his measure, the content of heart and mind...he was sure of himself that he'd prove worthy of the Emperor's so called “Wandering Dragon”
“Brother-” A measured voice spoke to him, “I ask you forgive me for making you walk so far, you see the Imperial shuttles of our Father's Imperium do so cause a racket and disturbance.”

The Primarch of the Second legion bowed before the Master of the Sixteenth stunning him somewhat.

“It is nothing brother” he bid Lieren to rise when he'd held his head low and Horus felt a measure of pride and appreciation for the gesture. Lieren stepped back and cupped one hand in another.

“I am Lieren of Nothing, Hunter, Cultivator and Warden of fair Shangrala.” He spoke introducing himself formally. Horus smiled happily and returned the gesture in kind soon finding himself walking beside his new brother though both garden and humble cottage. He felt a sense of peace and joy to meet such a civil and rational mind, how he'd dreamed of this moment and it was all falling into place, a man of respect, reason and discipline!

Alas the moment was dashed, for through the cottage came a mighty scuffle and shouting attendants before breaking through a delicate paper wall emerged the last person Horus wished to be here at this time...the Wolf king himself. Lieren's golden eyes met those of Leman, a quiet moment passed as the two stared into one another before eyes widened in realisation, the impeccable etiquette was cast aside in a moment as both their jaws dropped and the pair pointed an accusing finger in the direction of the other both bellowing at once.

“YOU”
“YOU”

Horus felt his palm meet his face.

I just realised lads, what is Lierens Emperor given super power? Sanguinis and Curve have foresight, Magnus is a giga mage, Corvus is a damned invisible shadow monster, Pert is almost a damned technopath, The jolly giant is a perpetual and so on ....

What's our thing? Have we done it yet?

So far the eyes were Malal doing a gamble, the psyker and meditation was cultural. What's our Emperor given thing? Is it the Metaphorical Ogre murder bot we've never truly seen in action? Will we effectively black out, rip and tear till it's done or something else? Even our renewable soul wasn't Emperor designed.
>>

It was supposed to be the emotionless quartermaster of the crusade that could organize everything. SO the emperor created Lieren to make the dragon's road, but in a galactic scale
Even the ogre wasn't part of Emp's plan since Lieren wasn't supposed to feel emotions, he felt regret for what he done and hoped Lieren could learn to feel, but it still wasn't the original plan.

You guys ever think about how The Ogre is a thing and likely got passed down to our Gene-sons? I'm sure it will never be an issue.
>>
>>5415188
The Ogre was kind of a fluke due to Lieren gaining emotions because of injustice, if it gets passed down I bet it would be because of the psychic link between primarch and the legion, amplified by the golden sea.
Although maybe each of our sons might develop a diferent mask, a way to deal with their emotions interacting with the giga-autism in their gene seed. It would fit with the whole chimera legion they immediately formed even after we told them to do things in moderation.

Thanks for the assist, really appreciate it

So Kynigos will claim the Thal'kr tried to poison him, and claim further it was the same poison used to plague the house of Loc'ea and suggest they were the cause all along, saying that the issues arose when he confronted them.

A morning that would not soon go unremembered, both due to the oppressive and unpredendented heat that swallowed the day and baked both the stones of the walls and streets of the great city of Loc'ea and the advanced, time worn technology kept hidden within it and the circumstances of the day and the events that played throughout it. The high temperature and cloudless sky that allowed the sun's rays to fiercely rain down upon the face of Nuceria, meant that any traveling merchants or visitors from other city states would seek shelter in cool, shaded places, the wealthy in way stations with water purifiers and air conditioning, and the poor and common born near streams and brooks whose cool mist would alleviate the scorching and mind numbing heat of this peculiarly hot day. This meant, that a lone figure, unescorted and without a caravan to provide them shade our carry cool water to sooth their throats parched by burning dust and air and wash away the grime of sweat caked with dirt and that without a breeze clung to every wrinkle and crevice of the face and body, was a rather unusual sight and one entirely unexpected.

The guards stationed outside of the walls of Loc'ea, who themselves had sought shelter beneath pitched tents and pavilions, to keep their skin from baking and burning beneath the unrelenting heat of the sun, were further shocked to see that this mysterious traveler was none other than the highly respected and beloved herald of the house of Loc'ria, Kynigos the Ancient, weather worn and weary from travels that would have felled a man a quarter of his age. To see a man so old traveling along on a day as exhausting as this, was strange in of itself, however, that this renowned Lanista and powerful official was traveling alone and without his personal contingent of gladiators turned body guards, made the shock of the guards who rushed to meet him, to take him to the shade and care for him so he may recover from the journey that had nearly killed him, turn to dread.

The hunchbacked, withered elder, was senseless from the heat, bruised all over and trembling in both leg and arm as he shuffled forward, towards the gate, babbling incoherently as he was lead to the cool shade beneath the tarped shelters they had built for themselves, with several of them rushing and stumbling over one another as they each sough to bring the ancient herald a bowl of cooling water. Two soldiers, veterans of the Loc'ea city guard and army, stayed by the elderly officials side as he was laid out atop a cloak laid over the parched grasses beneath the shade.

They knelt by his side, brushing his bald head free of sweat and dribbling sour vinegar onto his parched lips and tongue as Kynigos continued to struggle to speak, but remained incoherent and on the boundary between life and death. However, they consigned every word they were able to make out from his mumbled and raspy whispers, knowing that the old man must've had something important to say.

>>
>>5415439

Especially if he was willing to waste his last breath on trying to relay whatever message he had traveled so far and under such terrible conditions to deliver. Truly, his loyalty to the house of Loc'ria and Lycuarch was vast and unshakeable, if he would concern himself more with warning them of whatever terror had sent him on such a desperate flight to begin with than he would his own life. Soon, men with pails of crystal clear water and silk cloths returned to the tent but they were not the guards who had left to fetch Kynigos water, though they were dressed in the same fashion. Some were beggars, others were gladiators, and some yet were agents of those high riders who had seen the repugnance and wickedness of their lifestyle and that of their fellow nobility. They knew not the true identity of the old man who they named grandfather, so they, like the guards, were panicked and terrified that they would lose their teacher and beloved mentor, and Nuceria would be deprived of a rare benevolence and virture, and an even rare wisdom if they did not act quickly to treat his exhaustion and heat stroke.

Kynigos gulped and drank the water greedily, and swiftly returned to lucidity and regained enough enough to sit himself up from the ground, and as if he had laid on one of the couches of his own villa, addressed the fearful host gathered around him with authority and dignified bearing equal to that held by the highest of lords or the generals of a greatest armies. Drops of water hung within his long, white beard, like glittering stars or small pearls caught in a net, glowing in the light of the day as the hair they clung to swayed with the ancient herald's wild and panicked movements. Water splashed from the clay vessel handed to him, wetting his finely colored robes and soaking into the ground beneath him, as well as the shirts and pants of the men attending to him faithfully.

From his cracked and dry lips, the old man spoke a tail of treachery and murder, deception and betrayal. He told all present to listen that an attempt on his life had been made by the honored house of Thal'kr, while he was guest to their city and their homes as he sought to expand his stable of fighters with stock from the fighting pits of great Desh'ea.

"While I had the distinct pleasure to watch their beloved lord of the red sands in battle, against the fighters I myself had raised" He wailed in outrage in fury as men departed and joined the mob around him, spreading his story further into the the city as it was weaved "I grew to suspect that my hosts were hiding something, by how they held themselves and entreated with me, their demeanor was unusually wary, lords as high and resplendent as the Thal'kr and the servants beneath their protection should not have shown such caution around a man as withered and weakened by age as myself."
Cont
>>
>>5415441

"However, I chose not to confront them over their odd behavior, figuring they must have their reasons or suspected me of spying for my beloved lord, Lycuarch..." he continued, pausing to drench himself with water as he desperately gulped and drank from his cup, wetting his chest and face it splashed over his lips

The atmosphere grew tense, and the silence strong enough to be felt upon one's neck. And then, the old man waved his hand, cutting the tension like a knife through a ribbon.

"I cannot speak further, this can only be heard by the ears of Patriarch Lycuarch himself, for it is a matter most grave and it is vital it does not spread past my lips and his ears, only he and I may know of the true scope of the perfidy and treachery of the House of Thal'kr" He growled, suddenly strong once more, as he struggled to his feet "Send for him, or bring me to him! I care not how we meet, but we must, before our enemies learn of my survival and seek to silence me a second time!"

And so, Kynigos was lifted and set upon a liter, and carried through the city as discreetly as possible, trailed by curious onlookers, loyal beggars and concerned nobles as he was taken to the palace of the Loc'ria.
_

It was good fun, playing the role of an old, weakened man, desperate to deliver a dire warning in spite of his own injuries and infirmity. You could see now why actors enjoyed stepping out high upon a stage, to act as another and wear another face to entertain the crowds that gathered to watch their show and the often exaggerated and fanciful stories they depicted. And surely, the tale of Kynigos the ancient would be well enjoyed by both audience and actor, should its truth be revealed and allowed to spread to the valleys of Shangrala like cool morning mist rolling down the mountainsides. Though, it might be considered too fantastical even by those weavers of tall tales and students of dramatization or they might think it too bland, and lift the tale of trickery and lies even higher and introduce supernatural and magical elements. You smirked, as you wondered silently how they would explain your journey to Nuceria to the masses, who while enlightened and adjusted to technology, may not yet possess a collective intellect great enough to understand the webway without a mystical curtain. Surely, it would not be out of place in their mind's for the Lieren of many legends to travel across streams cut through the spirit world to spread prosperity and virtue, but you're sure that they could understand what the Webway truly was, if it was only presented to them properly upon the stage.

You frowned, laying against the cold metal slab in the infirmary of the Loc'ria family's palace, surrounded by all manner of machines that were meant for surgery and invasive cybernetic augmentation, when a simple IV to administer a saline solution cut with nutrients and vitamins would have sufficed to treat you.
Cont
>>
>>5415443

If you were actually suffering any malady or injury at all, that was. Your mind wandered, as priests struggled to rouse the machines and begged and pleaded with them to tell them what was wrong with Kynigos' withered body. Perhaps Pan An, as one of the foremost playwrights of the generation and an prodigy of theater, could do the story of Kynigos justice, without befuddling it and clouding the truth with fantasy and misunderstanding.

The room became suddenly silent, and the priests bowed away, parting like reeds in synchronized motion as your "Master" Lycuarch approached, tears wetting his cheeks and shimmering in his eyes as he shambled towards you, a look of disbelief on his ruddy, bloated face. He practically threw himself across you, like a mourning widow, weeping onto your chest as he knelt by your side, struggling to composure himself enough to speak.

"Kyngios, My friend, what have they done to you" He whimpers, looking more like a beaten mutt than the fierce war dogs that grace his family's sigil. He grabs hold of your hand, and squeezes it tightly as his lips, hidden behind his dense black beard, trembles. Then, suddenly, he whips his head around and snarls furiously at the priests who were attending the machines meant to treat you as much as they attended to you personally

"Leave us!" He bellowed, slamming a fist down on the metal table upon which you lay "NOW!"

They did as they were commanded, rushing from the room so hastily they nearly trampleded one another. The door closed automatically, and sealed itself shut with a hiss of pressurized air. Lycuarch looked down at you, his face contorted between grief and rage.

"As my herald, any wound done upon you is a wound I myself suffer. The Thal'kr have spat upon my face as they have spat upon yours, this attempt on your life is as much an attempt on my own" He growled, showing surprising loyalty for a man as wicked and tyrannical as himself. Though that strength loyalty and care for those he holds dear is one of his few virtues, that sprout like lotuses in the mire of sin he calls his heart.

He turned away, blinking away tears as you acted half delirious and struggling to remain conscious and aware as he spoke.

"I just cannot understand what madness would drive them to try and assassinate a man of your status and position, you are one of the highest officials under my employment, and a figure much beloved by the city, from the scum of the streets and the fodder in the arenas, to the lesser nobility and indeed my own family" He mused, face twisting with thought as he scratched his curled and wild beard "I just can't fathom what would drive them to kill a man, near death already, who only came to do business with them"

"That is only part of the story, Lord Lycuarch" You groaned weakly, rolling your eyes down to pierce through him with your gaze, staring fiercely and angrily into his own hatred filled eyes. He grabbed your hand again and nodded, several times
Cont
>>
>>5415444

"Yes, I was told, I am not certain how accurate it is, but I was told none the less, that you stumbled upon some scheme or machination of theirs, so dreadful you dared not speak it to anyone but me, for only I hold the power to act upon it and only I stand ready to retaliate against it" He hissed through his teeth "So, tell me, dear Kynigos, what secret did you find, that was so terrible that they sought your silence in death?"

"It was not one I initially held, but one they suspected me of bearing. Though their paranoia ended up proving my own suspicions" You explain, patting your hand atop the tyrants own "They had committed a terrible wrongdoing against your family, and suspected that I had arrived to expose it to the world, and in trying to force me to uphold the silence of the grave, revealed it themselves to my own cunning. The sickness I cured, was no sickness, it was no plague. I know this now, for my loyal guards, suspecting treachery, were felled by a poisoned wine intended for myself"

Lyucuarch's grip tightens and his eyes flare with a fury darker than most men could bear to play host to.

"They tried again to slay me, when I confronted them with my remaining household, enraged by their underhanded actions and attempted murder and deeply rooted deceptions. That was when the trouble started, and I realized the full extent of the crime they sought to bury with my bones" You bellow with a low, rumbling voice, as even the drunkard lord begins to piece together the story you're weaving for him "Not only, did they bring the poison that slew many of your kinsmen and clan, but they had done so with a hidden traitor, a spider lurking in the shadows who had turned their coat from Loc'ria to Thal'kr"

"And..and the fools thought you had known this, and in their panic tried to kill an innocent servant, who knew naught of their intrigues and nefarious deeds!" Lycuarch snarled, lifting himself from the ground and clenching his fist tightly as his eyes narrowed into slivers of burning fire "Until they struck, and exposed themselves by failing to murder you, an old man crafty with age, which allowed you to see the crime the had so cleverly hidden"

"You have seen the truth with clarity, as whole and true as the full moon, undressed by clouds or mountains" You whisper, slipping your hand from his as you pretend to slip into unconsciousness "Unfortunately, I was unable to learn the identity of the traitor before I was forced to flee, at the cost of the lives of my..."

And with that, the stage is set for Lycuarch and his kin to begin beating the drums of war, in pursuit of avenging an insult that was nearly a complete fabrication, woven by your experienced hands and silver tongue.

You spend the following days , pretending to recover and return to health, as the Loc'ria begin to search for a devil in their midst who does not exist.

Which allows you the chance to gather reports to keep an eye on Angron and his army, and to your great pleasure and relief, you find they have achieved their goals without a single defeat. And better, yet, their training and thieving has gone entirely unnoticed by the high riders, who are more concerned now with the whispers of war rising between Loc'ea and Desh'ea, as Lycuarch wasted no time at all broadcasting his accusations of murder and treachery nor did he waste time ready his armies for war, rallying them and preparing them to march towards Desh'ea immediately after he gave the order for the rat to be found and dragged and beaten in the streets for his betrayal and murder of his kin.

You had set the playing board with expert efficiency, and now had several avenues of bring ruin down upon the two houses, to weaken and expose them to Angron's retribution.

However, the preparations of war and the reaction it caused in nearby city staes, and the success of Angron's raiding parties that suffered, from as far as the reports handed to you by your beggar sect and Agents in the other houses of the high riders, were not the only tidings that arrived at your desk as Kynigos "Recovered" from the bold and misguided attempt on his noble life.

There were...mysterious deaths, suffered in numerous mountainside retreats and hunting lodges in the wilderness, the palaces of the high riders kept away from the cities they ruled. Murderers, hushed up and hidden by the surviving family members of the slain. Murders that were all too familiar by description to your eyes. The Modus Operandi of the Brothers of the Panther, the manner of which they hunted, lurked and infiltrated, were as recognizable to your eyes as the backs of your own hands.

And this, told you, that the forces you had requested upon Shangrala, were soon too arrive. It had become standard procedure in the imperial army of Long-Jia, to begin any conflict by scouting the enemy territories and weakening any resistance that would be met upon their border, by striking at the leaders of the garrisons nearest to the line that would mark the beginning of their armies march. A tactic you had pioneered and used with great effectiveness against the Tyrants Yan, Kanon, and Sinha. Which meant, you had good news to bring back to your brothers, that your brothers were now here to join the fight and soon, the might of Shangrala would fall from the skies like a storm of divine retribution.

What do you do now, Lieren?

>Use the paranoia of Lycuarch to purge Loc'ea of its tyrants, and maneuver those loyal to your cause into positions of power, leaving only Lycuarch and the unrepentantly wicked members of his house among a sea of the virtuous and penitent. Readying it for a quite and hopefully blood less coup

>Advise Lycuarch to march into a battle against the Thal'kr that will leave both sides weakened, and have your beggar sect alert Angron of the battle, so he could strike it from a flank they did not expect, emerging from the mountains to crush the winded and bloodied armies of two cities.

>Find Feng, since you know he will have volunteered to join the fight despite Akanksha's pregnancy and would be the first and furthest scout sent, and give him targets, after informing him of the present situation and giving him some Beggars to "Apprentice" as he carries out his missions

>Have your beggar sect poison several other high rider house-holds, to make the conflict brewing between the Loc'ria and Thal'kr spread, allowing Angron more freedom of movement and action and giving him the chance to appear even more heroic when he begins his campaign

Would anyone else support Lieren going through the few survivors of the Vishnu and the bone forest tribes to create a series of books on their history and culture so as a people they do not entirely disappear from the face of history in a generation or two?
As time goes on I regret more us not saving those cities of Nitya's slaves because it resulted in 100% casualties among the vishnu when all was said and done.
Sort of surprised Lieren has not mourned what happened to all those people and how he could have saved many of them if he chose different.

This should be good. Both houses will call for allies in the war, so the conflict should spread.
Angron rebellion can meanwhile grow in numbers and get more equipment, once connected with the first squads of Brothers of the Panther that arrived they should be able to make even bigger gains.
Loc'ea purged is a first city that could join Angron side. And we can begin supplying weapons/equipment from the city craftsmen to him.

What are our thoughts on asking Perturabo and/or Magnus and our wife to help fortify our world? Ideally, our world will one day become the emperor-equivalent demon world.
>>
Also, I think our Gene seed flaw would be pretty cool what I call the Machine Rage. When truly angered our sons will enter a state similar to that of the Black Rage where we think and act in a mechanical fashion. Like a cold version of the black rage but minus the illusions. The downside would be a bad case of tunnel vision where all focus is devoted to slaying the enemy that triggered the flaw. It could be called Leiran's Contempt.
>>
There's also that cannon faction called the sons of malice that fights in complete silence. That could also be part of the flaw. A nice reference to Malice's underlying influence on us.

Object Id #A##2######C## Data Corrupted

Description: A black tattered and falling apart journal bearing smears of unknown Astartes blood and smoke damage originating from Heavy Bolter Fire. Spine and cover have been heavily reinforced for battlefield conditions and cover bears dents. The object appears to be of significant age likely origination from (Redacted) during (Redacted) and was carried into an unknown number of battles. Despite tender care and daily repair object continues to degrade due to advanced age. The object was discovered clutched to the chest of a dead administratum scribe within the deepest level of the outer imperial palaces storage facilities in an 11by11 meter room. Origin of both the room and the scribe have been long lost to time. From examination of the scribe it appears that at some unknown date in the past scribe entombed himself in the room.

>Contents of the Object:

>most pages despite being made from the highest quality velum have since degraded to dust. The remaining 11 pages state the following in Perti
>My name is unimportant what matters is what I have seen and what I have been a part of. My Father praise be his name was Lieran of Nothing. Unlike his creator he did not style himself a Lord but rather a human and a father. I am a son of Terra and fought in the Emporer's crusade. Despite never rising to the ranks of my Father's closest advisors and remaining a mere Sgt for my career he valued us all regardless of rank. He taught us to think and to question. I did not at first but in time I gained something unknown to my cousins in other legions. This something was what some Auxilia taught me was called common sense. It was not until (redacted/damaged) in my (redacted) campaign upon (damaged) that I first met custodes that I asked that first question that lead me down a road of self-discovery that none save the traitors did. If the Emperor loved humanity so much then why did he strip it from all of his closest advisors? It was because he viewed humanity as weak. This was the first crack in the dream that was the imperium. The second did not appear till years later when I was fighting the Rangdan. I felt fear. I an Astartes felt fear. The Emperor said we were stripped of our humanity so that we would be free of it but yet I still felt fear. I was ashamed and after much thought went to my primarch. He said that fear is part of what makes us human. How could this be? EIther my Primarch was lying or the Emperor. My conclusion the Emperor stripped us all of humanity so we would be nothing but tools. From that day I fought for the first time for my primarch, my humanity, and myself. The Emperor is a tyrant.

So Lieren will use the Paranoia he's seeded in Lycuarch's mind to purge Loc'ea of its tyrants, Maneuvering those loyal to his cause in positions of power, surrounding the remaining tyrants withing the Loc'ria family with a sea of virtuous souls, ready to launch a quiet and hopefully bloodless coup

But before he turns over Loc'ea to those of righteous views and just character, he will Find Feng and give him targets for his hunt, after informing him of the circumstances of the world and giving him some students to teach

However the time to for you to take up yout arms, shed blood and end lives had not yet come. There was still work for Kynigos to accomplish, schemes and deceptions to weave. The spider's game was still underway, though it and the farce of your service to the house of Loc'ria and its patriarch were soon to come to an end. However, before you could return to your brother's side, and wage war upon the tyrants of this world as you so deeply wished to since the moment you looked upon their face twisted with contempt and scorn, there are plays still to be made and pieces left to maneuver. The web woven by the scarlet spider, Qian Xia, over the courts of Gao and Yan, shall once more be cast and fall upon the houses of the high riders. As She and you had in the era of misrule and oppression, you shall place those of moral mind and virtuous soul in positions of power once occupied by their wastrel and cruel relatives. As the nobility of Gao and Yan were redeemed by those who refused to wallow in the filth of their lifestyle and traditions of excess and sin, so to shall Loc'ea survive by those who have grasped the value and wisdom of the lessons of the journey and awoken to justice and weep now for their fellow men, chained and abused for the amusement and profit of their kin.

And leading Lycuarch to turn and tear the throats from those vassals and servants both loyal and true, will prove as simple as plucking a ripe peach from the branch. As you lead the worm of gao to engineering his own downfall, so to shall you take the paranoia that you have poisoned the patriarch of Lycuarch's mind with and tie it into a noose around the neck of those nobles and officials in the city whose crimes cannot be forgiven, who will not turn from the path of ruin set by the villainous and vile lifestyle they lead. And so, the Tyrant shall hang the petty tyrants and sadistic villains and selfish blackguards, acting in place of your own hands. Which shall soon to wrap tightly around his throat, to constrict and crush the life from it personally.

Kynigos the ancient is trusted and adored by the foul patriarch of the Loc'ria family, and so, it will be as easy as pulling a puppet's strings to surround the rabid and feral dogs of the house with trained hounds and penitent wolves, who, at your command, shall bring the old breed of Loc'ea to heel and made to stand trial for their countless atrocities and cruelties they have committed throughout their life and rule.

So, from your bedside, you take the role of the spider once more, and pull the patriarch's leash. With the assistance of those officials, high riders and sons and daughters of Loc'ria who have allied themselves to you, knowingly or not, you plant evidence to implicate those tyrants beneath the shadow of the war dog Lycuarch, who had began braying for bloodshed the moment he had declared his intent to war upon the Thal'kr.

Powerful men, influential officials, greedy merchants, veteran generals, all are brought low and defeated by your machinations. Some offices and seats go empty, as you must whittle away the line of inheritance a great deal, before one worthy of the responsibilities and powers of the station is in position to inherit it. Of course, it is easy to convince these righteous and benevolent heirs and heiress to join your cause, if they had not already done so, as even the virtuous and meek can see what good can be done with privileges once abused and wielded as an executioner's blade.

And Lycuarch, never once suspects Kynigos or his ever growing stable of students and circle of friends, associates and adherents of deception, nor does he see even a glimpse of the shadow cast by the conspiracy gathering over his throne like a vast and dark storm cloud. In fact, he is very much pleased by the loyalty of "true friends" who rat out the "traitors" in their midst, believing whole heartedly that the purge of his underlings is beneficial, that he has outsmarted the Thal'kr and routed their attempts to sow discord and disorder in the city and amongst its ruling class never once questioning why there were so many enemy agents amongst the highest rungs of society, or pondering the details of their "betrayal".

Oh some try to defend themselves, but what condemned man would not argue and lie to preserve their own life? At least among those who do realize the futility of fearing and hating death, and do not see it is but another aspect of life. That all things must one day end and perish from the world, fading in time from all memory. You are certain, none of your accomplices would beg for mercy or point accusing fingers were they found out, even under the threat of torture and painful death. Even those who had not chosen to walk the path of the journey and live by its teachings would not betray the conspiracy to save themselves. They were loyal to the cause of prosperity and equality, unified in purpose and drive.

It was a nostalgic feeling, and reminded you of the simpler days of your youth, though you still were young and would be considered a child by the years you have lived. Before the deeper mysteries of the universe were revealed to you, to forever more weigh upon and trouble your mind.

The stage is set, in a matter of days, as Lycuarch rids Loc'ea of the obstacles in the way of his own usurpation, standing alone with the witless and sinful of his house, an island of immorality and odious tyranny in a golden sea of the virtuous and penitent, ready and willing to overthrow that last bastion of degenerate villainy the moment you gave them the signal to. The coup would be silent, and unseen, leaving the other city states of Nuceria unaware of the changing of leadership, and leaving all but the Thal'kr unaware that Loc'ea now stood against them.
Cont

Perhaps the revolution would spread to the allies of the Loc'ria, perhaps it would not. It mattered little now, as war approached on the horizon like a rising, red sun.

However, before you gave the order as Kynigos to oust Lycuarch and his ilk from their thrones, there was business you had to attend to in the wilderness. You had to meet your brother after all. You knew Feng's mark as a hunter as well as you did your own, and it was obvious he would be the first to venture onto Nuceria and brave the unknown, and hostile world. Even though he has children to care for and a wife to cherish and provide for. Though you would not be surprised to see the colorful, feathered cloak of Akanksha flapping by his side, on the shoulders of its willful and wild owner.

You squinted, wincing as you forcefully remembered, that of the chieftains of the Vishnu tribes, that you knew and befriended, only Akanksha, Aruna and the pacifistic Om remained. The pain of their death became fresh and vivid once more, the wound left behind their passing opening afresh upon your heart.

"Such tragedy" You sighed to yourself, as you gathered your things and set off to find Feng wherever he hid himself, so you might guide his spear and rifle and provide him with students and recruits to initiate into the brotherhood of the panthers.

It did not take you long at all, to find your brother and old friend, for he had left a trail any reasonably skilled hunter could follow, working his way through the isolated forts and manors, leaving behind a trail of victims, expertly dispatched their corpses only marred by a bullet hold through their temples or a spear wound through the throat. He was killing them like the Panther whose fur he wore upon his back. And so, studying his movements and plotting his course, you anticipated the route he was following through the forest, wisely following the current of the largest local river, likely in the hopes he'd come across a city and a tyrant's whose death would destabilize the region. It was clear he was planning to perform such a daring assassination to distract the enemy forces or weaken them up for Angron's own armies. Already he had left behind enough chaos to allow for a swift march down the river, past the confused and panicking high riders, who were still reeling and recovering from the thin swathe Feng had cut through the local leadership.

"It must be fate, for such a fortuitous meeting to occur beneath the bountiful light of the moon and the cooling mist of the river, a miraculous reuniting of brothers upon soil far distant from the fields and paddies where they swore their oath of brotherhood and kinship so long ago" You muse wistfully as you step from behind the reeds, approach Feng as he sat upon a stone, sharpening the head of his spear, with his favorite rifle slung over his legs, the same, single bullet model he had used since you first introduced firearms to Shangrala
Cont
>>
He smirk, chuckling as you sat beside him and smile widely as you grinned and looked to the sea of glittering stars and distant suns far above your heads

"Surely this must be the will of the heavens" You joked, laughing with him as he nodded

"I am not so surprised to see you brother, you have a habit of emerging from the most unlikely of places at the most unexpected times" He stated happily, grinning ear to ear "I suppose my exercise had caught your attention, as I hoped it would"

"Brother Feng, I knew of your arrival on Nuceria and your passing across it plains, the moment you stepped foot outside of the labyrinth dimension" You admitted, placing a hand on his shoulder

"Hmm, Nuceria, harsh name for a harsh world" Feng said idly, as he began to oil the haft of his spear, rubbing it with a rough, chestnut cloth as his eyes squinted, unused to unfiltered moonlight. The night must be unbearably bright to him, who is used to the gentle caress of white fogs and cool mist

"I'm surprised the natives here haven't all gone blind with that outrageously bright sun hanging in the sky!" Feng barked as he stuck his spear in the ground and began to work on maintaining his outdated rifle

"Eyes are remarkably adaptive, and not every world is blessed to be blanketed by Shangrala's comforting gloom" You say, eyes still transfixed on the night sky, a sea saturated with hues of navy and plum, sat upon a bowl of ethereal pinks and magentas vanishing below the horizon

"I've heard as such by the New Varro men" He said plainly "I just thought they were telling tall tales, for how could men stand such furious and unrelenting light"

"And they would wonder how we could find our way through the white haze that shrouds our home" You say blithely "But, unfortunately, I did not call you here so we may gossip as old hens do"

"I am well aware, for a panther has little purpose outside of the hunter" Feng boasted, with a predatory sneer and glint in his eye "So, my dearest friend and most honored brother, who must I kill upon this land of blinding light and burning sands, and how do the tides of your lost brother's war turn? Do we hold the advantage"

"It has yet to truly begin, in truth, though Angron, my brother once chained, shall soon reveal himself and wage his war to free these lands and his people from the tyrants who call themselves the high riders" You explain as Feng nods thoughtfully, looking like a wizened sage despite his youth

"What a pretentious epithet to share! I'm sure the Lai would be outraged if they heard it. High Rider sounds like what General Song would name himself, if he had not already been declared the lord of Cavalry" He shouted in response "Guessing those are the villains I've been putting down like dogs then, the slave owners"

"Precisely, though, I will shoulder you with an additional burden, beyond merely the lives you must take" You continue, nodding once as Feng pinches his beard and listens as intently as a panther on the hunter
>>
>>5419907

"Your orders shall never be a burden, Great Hunter" Feng answers without hesitation, confidence brightly shining his smile as he shoulders his rifle and stands "Give your command, and I shall follow it without failure or folly"

"I have established a sect of the impoverished and destitute, the paupers and beggars of the slums and streets" You explained, standing and striding to the river's edge to stand amongst the reeds, Your brother soon joining you on the muddy shore "I've trained them in the ways of stealth and taught them martial arts. Some, have already proven themselves worthy of being named brother of the panther, such is this natural talent and skill"

"You wish for me to make them into true brothers then? Take them as my students as you see to more important matters?" He asks, correctly guessing what you were asking of him without it being stated

"Hmm, perhaps your eyes have become half as sharp as mine" You chuckle, before nodding your head once "But that is correct, they have potential, and it must be nurtured, and I can think of no man better to serve as their teacher"

"Send them my way, and I shall make panthers out of these men" Your brother replied, looking up to the stars as they filled his eyes "Now, who shall be my students first quarry"

"I have a list!" You exclaimed excitedly, clapping your hands together

"of course you do!" He laughed

Who do you send Feng after, while you remove Lycuarch from power, and Angron starts his war, Lieren?

Remember that Lieren can literally see the evil in men's hearts and has killed for much lesser crimes and sins than what Lycuarch has committed. Remember, despite his geniality to Lieren, the man's an unrepentant High-Rider

And that Lieren also really, really fucking hates Tyrants and won't spare one just because they like him or care for their family. Remember Tao Song, Lieren admits he was a good father, but did not hesitate to snap his neck because his analytic mind and strong sense of morality determined his ruthless and greedy exploitation of his lands wealth and people could not be forgiven or punished in anyway besides immediate execution, and even if Lord Tao immediately converted to the journey and promised to live his life trying to right the wrongs he had made. Lieren would have still broken his neck and killed him.

There is a reason Lieren was and still is called the Hangman. The Giant's road was shaded by the bodies of criminals Lieren Met, Judged and then executed.

There is a reason Qian Xia is fucking terrified of Lieren, despite the two of them having worked closely together and being Long time allies. And that's cause the Scarlet Spider is well aware of how quickly and efficiently Lieren will kill those he sees as irredeemable and is afraid she'll, without realizing, step over that line that only Lieren can see and won't know until the guillotine falls, as it were.

Lieren only kills when he deems it as necessary, and he still has a higher human body count than any other primarch currently.

Cause he doesn't suffer the malefactor to live.

As shameful as it may be to admit, The Emperor's original designs for the Primarch of the Second Legion are immutable on some level.
For as much as Lieren has been able to move past it, the cold and hyper-rational mindset is still very much a part of him.
This timeline got damn lucky that Lieren landed on a perfect example of the horrors of Chaos.

And that's why Kruze will actually hate Leiren. For all his scary darkness and auto kill the guilty. For all his visions of the worst possible futures m

Leiren has a purpose that neither time and destiny can deny. Bringing death to the wicked. And soon we will see if that extends to his brothers.

The night haunter will soon have dreams not of the worst the future has to show. But of the death that comes for him.

And that's going to piss off the emperor... Unless we have a replacement Legion+clone primarch for his injured pride.

If we have to fight Kruze. How should we do it? Should we even start something? He's not going to have a power structure to corrupt.

Nor will we be able to catch him because of precog.

This actually overlooks one detail. Lieren is willing to tolerate tyrant for the greater good (not the Tau bullshit) as was the case with Gao. He used Gao for all his worth then executed him afterwards.
I think Lieren is willing to attempt to make Kruze serve the greater good especially since Kruze is Lieren brother and the reason Kruze is getting crazier is Lieren's fault. Not to mention Lieren will remember that each Primarch serves an important role in the Emperor's goal to reunite humanity and that Lieren should be considering rehabilitating Kruze for that alone (Kruze's puropse is most likely not only terror and fear tactics but also to avert the worst possibilities with his psychic visions which is very useful to Lieren).
>>
>>5420354
He also tolerated the third snake brother and reformed him.
I think Lieren might see that Kurze right now is insane instead of completely evil. He goes off the deep end a bit before and during the heresy.
>>
>>5420356
Given that our life is a rejection of prophecy wei might be able to help reduce the number and intensity of Cruze visions by just making the world better.
And what made the final plunge was him purging his own world which he did due to crime and pisspoor leadership.
And we share a lover for killing the wicked we might be able to get him to join the journey and make his legion more like the brothers panther, and less like the canon night lords.

Plus the not so angry angron could work to use his magic empathy for a stop gap until larger reforms can take place.
>>
Kurze at this time in this quest already wants to murder us because of his visions.

By the time we find him he'll have done such horrible things to his planet that it would be impossible not to see the actual blackness of his depraved soul.

... Shall we wait until the Heresy then? Maybe he'll try to kill us before that happens.
>>
>>5420726
Are we just not gonna talk to the Emperor about it at all?
>>
>>5420734
Depends who finds him, the Emperor will likely realise "holy shit Lieren will Merc this dude as soon as he sees him".

Though we might be able to spin it right and show all our brothers that we can all do evil, that there is a danger of corruption of purpose. We should be careful. It may we'll prove a sombering experience
>>
>>5420354
I'm not convinced Konrad's visions are something the emperor gave him. That one vision of the kid stabbing him in the heart is obviously bullshit, there's no way some kid can hurt a primarch like that. Either it's chaos screwing with him or Big E really fucked up when he made Curze and his precognition is just extremely unreliable.
>>
>>5420830
Considering he was going to be the emperors perfect judge I doubt future vision would have helped him. My personal theory is that he was going to see visions of the past to be able to see the innocent from guilty but chaos messed with it.

i always though of Kurze as an internal security person, FBI type.

>The General of the Thal'kr army, marching to meet the Loc'ria on the border between their holdings

Generals can be replaced plenty of times, and it doesn't mean they are from the Thal'kr house. Could be from another noble house or even lower origin. Angron wants the house gone, the servants of it are little side objectives at best.
What matters here is the effect on the Thal'kr army on the field, when they lose their general. Disorganization, panic, low morale, inevitable conflict for decisions in lower officers and more.
Angron can start punching them and get some early victories against the Thal'kr. Perfect for build up prestige, get famous and have more slaves and low classes join the rebellion. Beside Angron army gets experience and to loot equipment, ammo and supplies.

The Thal'kr will not remain with their hands tied after the fact, and will probably put another general in charge with a likely bigger honor guard for properly protect him. And maybe recruit more soldiers or buy mercs for recover from losses.

>>5419916
Lieren is always switching to his hunter mindset when he is disguised in the enemy ranks or when he goes to war or on a mission. There is something that clicks in him, whenever he goes to them and then there is a slow build up until he kills all of them. And that usually, is when he gains plenty of informations and advantages to use against them. Of course sometimes he has already all he needs, and can just get to the killing part (remember the hunt of the Yan Princes in their disgusting and horrible palace ? Cut down one by one).
>>
You know we talked a lot about the potential emperor/lieren relation and mechanicus/shangrila relation with the reveal. We even made some plans about it, a lot of ways to go about it.
But we didn't talk much about the potential big change in relationships, with Kanzeon sisters being known to other primarchs. I am not suggesting anything, but if it happens (say Angron, Perturabo or Magnus can visit and want to talk more has a family) i just want to point out the bond of Lieren with his beloved. And that plenty of primarchs have basically no true close people in their lives, or too few. Of course this would create "some" amount of growing envy in certain brothers.
A small thing to consider.

And let's attach a larger attachment of war machines for protect Liberty btw. Just zero anyone that comes close with malicious intent.

We likely need to get on the horn to speak to Dad again, inform him of Angrons' situation and what we have been doing. Despite how much I wish to stay at Angrons side this whole world conquest we need to go home and check on our own side. Dark Eldar are lurking still and we don't wanna not be there when dad arrives lest things get out of hand.

While at home of course I believe it would be virtuous of us to meditate and try to do some more Eldar stuff, find Stag boy.

Ezaratahr the Seared wandered the jagged tower once held by the so called Master of the Stellar Hunt and as a Trueborn his sire; Cearnarch. It had been hundreds of years since his banishment and the Dark City had changed much but only upon its surface for the currency remained as ever; Pain. He stepped over the chard corpse of an Incubus whom had fallen defending the fallen huntsmans' vault and stopped before a retinal scanner which began open after it scanned over several sets of eyes the Princeling had plucked.

He walked upon through the Vault as his men began to loot it, they took treasured pelts and the wealth of a hundred worlds. Yet he payed that no mind, since those halfborn pawns were his all they possessed was also his. His armour like the rest of his line was exquisitely carved and obsidian but unlike many others his bore no jewels nor golden filigree instead the armour was adorned with the bones of his finest kills encased in fine silver, he bore no regal plume but the silvered quills of a Kroot Highshaper his most enjoyable hunt and kill from...before. His silent steps came to a stop before a Vault within the Vault and the traitor whom had sold out those loyal to his sire in this place all for a rise in station so meagre.

“What can I do to be of service Lord of the Hunt” he spoke and Ezaratahr felt anger, such a worm to speak directly to him rather than one of his own bodyguards? But he didn't show the anger yet for the turncoat had another use now.

“Play it” he ordered simply and gestured for the man to walk in front of the sealed door.

The Drukhari stepped forward but the Seared Hunter knew the woman a cowered only holding firm for greed. A small device emerge from a pouch and a simple button pressed from it coming the voice of a dead man.

“I Lord Cearnarch Master of this Spire beneath sweet stolen light order this door to open”

Hisses of steam erupted from the sides of the door as it depressurised and while at first the round thing moved forward it then began to roll aside. The room within was unlit and full of wisping pale smoke. But Ezaratahr was no fool, with a finger gesture he sent his pawns forward and he heard the killing begin his oh so cunning father having filled the place with more traps and minions.

1/2
>>
It took some time for the survivors to make their exit again signalling the room was now clear, he stepped forward. More bodies he did not care to note lined the path to the rooms far side. But now he finally reached his prize worth more than all the trophies and wealth in the room before, a map of the Stellar Hunts conquests and as he noted their final destination, the world where he likely now lay rotting as he deserved.

Yet as he took the map the Spire shuddered, instantly he knew what had happened. The dead mans voice returned to the fore as it echoed through speakers about the raiders.

“So cunning defiler to dare to steal from me? Such Hubris! Run little rat, run for I shall find you! Flee across the stars with your ill gotten gains but rest assure my prey I will find you. Remember this I WILL FIND YOU.”

The exiled Prince ran from the spire as it crumbled about him, many of his men fell through holes in the floor, the jagged structure falling about him scuring many, plumes of smoke bellowed and toxins from hidden chambers rolled over him. But still he ran jumping from a crumbling balcony onto a Raider which had been half loaded with loot.

“LEAVE!” he bellowed and the driver obeyed without question while Ezaratahr watched his “families” estate crumble to rubble which got caught in the well of a sickly sun. It was beautiful in a grim way and while this raid had cost more than he'd hoped he had his prize.

He laughed quietly to himself.

“You will rue the day you exiled me 'father' maybe if you had not been so fearful of my rise and kept me by your side you would be here today?-”

He palmed the blade at his side he'd once hoped to slit the man's throat with...

“-though maybe not.”

He turned to look to the future and not the decrepit past but as he did a shiver ran down his spine and the faintest whisper graced his ears.

“I will find you~”

He span blade drawn to see nothing and while his eyes search for the whisperer he felt eyes boring into him and for the first time since his exile if only for a moment...he felt small.

Dad is usually too busy, that's why we should pass on the information to Uncle Malcador. We really should talk to the guy more often. Spy master that he might be I think he at least tries to act like an uncle with the primarchs. Most of the time.

Shit you're right man. Perhaps we should set up sensor arrays around Shangrala and sensory pack satellites in orbit to detect any incoming ships, in addition to orbital defense batteries in case of an invasion.

>>5421290
Nice. You bring something back to my attention from a few threads back. Those ninja shadows drukari dudes, one of them was lurking in our camps trying to kill some of Lieren's peeps, but he managed to spook it away. We should really do something about those shadow guys.

The Mandrakes? They are a bit hard to find since they have their own section of Commaraugh to live in, and are mutated as fuck to be weird half shadow people, so it's a hidden part of the webway inside a hidden part of the webway full of skeep paralysis demons. Lieren could do it, but it's something to dedicate lifetimes to.
Unless you meant any remmants on Shangrala. I doubt that they are stil any since they can teleport and probably fled back to their home, but better be safe than sorry.

That was a fun read, incredible work, anon, I really enjoyed it and the ending sent a shiver down my spine
>>
You two brothers stood, amongst the reeds and cool air that rose from the gentle flowing river. A thin mist lift from the water's edge, crawling and curling around your legs as you and Feng stood, and the second most skilled of all of Shangrala's hunter's gazed at the stars unhidden above and so had his eyes filled with stars, reflecting the great cosmic sea and void far above either of you.

"So, from this list of prey, who is the first to die?" He asked, his voice as cold as a night gale but professionalism and to the point, wasting no breath on needless words or flower speech "Who, pray tell, will meet my spear and my rifle before all the other villains whom I shall lead to their well deserved ends?"

"A general, sent by the house that enslaved my brother to fight in their pointless games of slaughter and murder" You answer back, just as coldly, your voice crackling like ice breaking beneath pale moonlight, quite yet imposing "He marches to meet the forces of the city whom I have already prepared to be taken over by the virtuous and benevolent, in the stead of the tyrants of old"

"Hm, cut the head from the serpent, so its body may be trampled beneath a thousand falling feet" Feng said, his scarred face lighting immediately with understanding and comprehension, as the old confident smile he wore so often before the both of you lost so many of your brothers and close friends "Ensuring an easy victory for our allies by removing one of the pillars supporting our enemies, as we have done so many times before"

"It is not the Loc'ria alone whom shall benefit from this killing, Brother" You say with a twinkle in your eye "My Brother by blood, Angron and all of those who were freed by his escape have been barking and howling to be allowed to take their revenge against those who had once bound them with chains of iron and fear. The clashing of two high rider armies will allow them to satiate and quench their bloodlust, as Bai once did upon the wicked and inhuman. And will also to allow those tyrants who still hold power amongst the Loc'ria to be swiftly dealt with without issue or suspicion"

Feng smiled and bowed his head

"His kid is growing up well you know, his and Xin's. Don't know their names or faces, but I've been...well, you've been sent letters by their widows" Feng says solemnly, as he leans against his spear, his eyes darting as he slowly turned his head, searching for Shangrala in the alien night sky "Daiyu had to hold Jinhai back from coming here personally, you know"

"And what of your child?" You ask, turning to look down at him as he pondered the stars

"They'll be born healthy I'm told, and Jinhai is adamant they meet his brood when they are" He said with a coy smile "Akanksha at least, is happier than she was after the news of...what happened to her fellow chieftains reached her. She wanted to be there with them, despite being with child. A wild thing she is"

"A fitting match for a hunter, I see your furs have feathers woven into them, now" You say with a low chuckle as you step away from Feng "It would seem, if your spirited wife cannot join you in battle, then at the very least, her tokens of affection will bolster your own spirits"

"These feathers carry her scent, and so I am relieved, feeling her presence without endangering her or our child" Feng says wistfully "These mementos I carry, set my mind at ease and relaxes my nerves"

"A great boon whilst hunting" You say proudly as Feng nods "I shall give you the coordinates of the site of the clash between our enemies and soon to be allies. Expect my brother's forces to join, and use their arrival to escape the confusion that shall spread across the field once your have removed the serpent's head. You know your duty, and I trust you shall carry it out without flair or folly"

"A job done well is more of an honor than a flashy execution, I shall not let you down, Lieren. I'll put a bullet in the dog's skull, and return to your side once more, to be given my next quarry" Feng answers, cupping his fist and bowing deeply. You return the gesture, and slip the map you have drawn for Feng into his hands as the both of your rise

"Good, for now, we shall depart one's company, and reconvene after the first battle of the war for Nuceria's fate is won" You say politely, walking away into the reeds as Feng remains where he stood, still looking to the stars as if half dreaming "Stay safe, my courageous brother, and good hunting"

"A panther does not willingly trod over thorns" Feng laughs "But, I wish you luck in your hunts as well, Lieren. If I'm lucky, I might meet this brother of yours, whom we have traveled so far to lend our aid to"

You smile, and shake your head, as you and Feng part ways and vanish from one other in the gloom of the night, the gently whispering winds wiping away any trace of your meeting by the river's edge.

They had been marching for days, against treacherous mountain passes and over open fields and plains, his men were restless, impatient to shed the blood of their foes and dye the sands below a vivid shade of red. Even General Pyrrhus himself found himself giddy with anticipation, even though he still did not understand what had driven the Loc'ria to suddenly stand and begin shouting wild and nonsensical accusations against his masters of House Thal'kr, and smear their names and reputation with a tale of treachery he found so outlandish as to be laughable. But he did not care for their reason or the cause for their misplaced belief of betrayal if they truly did believe in the lives they spread.

No, it mattered not why his enemies fought, only that they did so he could crush them beneath his heel, earn glory, honor and prestige and marry into a good house, so he could join the nobility truly.

He was tired of being a servant, and this scuffle before the complete subjugation of the black dogs of Loc'ea would surely provide him the chance to achieve great personal advancement in the hierarchy of Desh'ea. A higher rank, and a noble blooded bride would be is reward. As well as the chance to kill and maim.

He grinned, teeth chattering as the small chip implanted in his brain with chemicals to incite aggression and numb the sensation of pain, without clouding the mind or ruining it as the Iron Nails would. It was a personal choice of improvement, a constant, steady supply of adrenaline without the dangers of the more advance and invasive cybernetics often forcefully implanted in to the slave gladiators of the arena, who were his inspiration to ask for the device to be nestled inside his own skull.

He could fight with a ferocity that approached that of those witless, drooling animals, but maintain his grasp of sanity and cognizance, so long as he had it removed before it melded completely with his grey matter and did not become dependent upon the adrenaline and other chemicals it poured into his veins at his mental command. Pyrrhus had decided, he'd join the battle once the Loc'ria dogs were scrambling over one another in retreat, to prevent the chance of overloading the chip in his brain and frying his mind into blissful beastdom. He'd be safe from danger, commanding from the rear, until there was no threat and he could lap up and take all the glory of victory with his own hand and feel bones crack and blood flow beneath their fingers. He grinned, twitching, manic and drooling as he sent a surge of adrenaline racing through his body, sitting beside his broadcaster slave as he watch his neat, organized rows of horse riders march ahead, hiding his battalions of cyberized war dogs and elite soldiers, equipped with proper weaponry.

The cavalry would shield these elites, carrying the legacy of their forefathers and the high technology that allowed the high riders to rule with no challenge or fear, and disrupt the more traditionally organized army of Loc'ea, which he knew the entire composition of from a constantly updating stream sent his way by disembodied, flying eyes of metal and mechanized birds. And in case the Loc'ria had a trick up their sleeve and pushed back against his initial offensive, he'd simply retreat back up hill with his personal guard force, to the safety allotted by the war machines and artillery pieces he had called in many favors to be allowed to command. His mind swam with visions of glory and killing, as his hands shivered and the rest of him trembled as he poured more and more chemical bliss into his veins.

His broadcasting slave, fused to the machinery that allowed him to see every officer of importance in his army's line through screens attached to its pallid, bloated flesh, and with a vox cast placed where a face and throat had been before, whined and hissed with static, broadcasting his half snarled and feverish panting.

A conscious choice, to unease and terrify his enemies. He'd use it properly, to transmit his command both openly and silently, so it could be heard by his opponents and hidden from them as he so wished. The Broadcasting slave raised a withered arm, as his lobotomized and mind linked bodyguards stood as still as the corpse they would have been, had their organs not been replaced with superior technology. It was never wise to trust once safety to thinking men, especially when one had so many enemies.

Pyrrhus grinned, watching his enemy march into place on the other side of the valley, the two battle-lines separated by a raging river.

The banner of Thal'kr flew, glowing against the sun as the digital cloth arranged their sigil to make it seem as if it were alive and imprisoned within the flags as they flew and danced. The Loc'ria, instead, raised banners of ordinary cloth, the three war dogs of the house circling one another, paintings against the electronic life of the Thal'kr's heraldry.

"Give the order to all units to charge" He said calmly, restricting the flow of chemicals polluting his mind, coming down slowly from the high he had given himself. After the charge, he'd command the riders to retreat and harass the sides of the Loc'ea army, while his elites and cybernetic war beasts tore through their weakened front "Maintain the command, until I give new orders or authorize my officers to act freely"

The broadcast-slave twitched, wires glowing beneath its veins as it translated his will into a stream of digitized words, transmitted directly into the minds of his commanding officers. Then, with a press of the pin on his chest, he activated his shield, having set its frequencies to withstand and repel whatever his armor could not. Anything that could pierce it, was would either need to be fired on mass or be too primitive for even the Loc'ria to consider fielding. He was like a god!

Then, he sat, waiting as he watched his army surge forward, beneath a cloud of dust. He blinked, his wide eyes burning as something hot and unpleasant filled his eyes. Smoke. He was surrounded by smoke. Yet his guard thralls did not alert of him of any present danger. He pushed as much adrenaline as he could into his system, to slow his perception of time as he scanned his surrounds and.

Saw something strange, crouched in the tall grasses growing at the base of the hill he stood under. It was a white, yet flashed and glittered like silver. It was fur. The hide of a beast. A predatory cat of some kind, but none familiar to his eyes. It was skin, laid atop something else.

It moved, as he lifted his hand to raise the Volkite pistol he had been bequeathed, thumbing its trigger as the mass of white and silver moved.

He missed, the unseen thermal ray deflagrating a portion of the hill as the man beneath the fur rushed forward, moving between his guard thralls, who were only now alerted to his presence. He adjusted his aim, and found his arm lifting as the would be assassin leaped into the air and.

Pyrrhus' jaw clenched, as he saw the weapon in the stranger's hand. A spear, of sharpened metal head and wooden haft. Primitive. He realized, he could not fire his pistol in the time it'd take the mad man to pounce onto him and bury that spear's head through one of the gaps in his armor. He moved his free hand, touching the pin on his chest and changing his shield's tuning, flickering it from read to dull blue. The man would still hit him with enough force to knock him from his saddle, but his spear would be splintered down to the atom.

And that would give him time enough to pull the trigger and turn him into screaming ash.

He grinned as he was thrown down, and a shower of metal and wooden splinters filled the air and

He found a barrel of a rifle aimed at his eye, pointed directly above the lense of his helmet. Readings foretelling his own death filled his sight as the man smirked beneath his fur cloak. His hand twitched, trying to pull his pistol's trigger before...

Pyrrhus thought and saw nothing more.

Feng, in a manner quite alike his young wife, hopped from the ruin of his target's corpse, landing on his toes, arms spread out and he hopped to his other foot and turned around. The stranger guardians around his prey stood motionless, wailing as their heads hung and jaws dropped. They had surrounded him, and he was prepared to fight his way out of the mess but...they were still now. A weight fell in his stomach, as he realized they were the same sort of monstrosities as used by the butcher king. Corpses puppeted by steel. Spitting bile on the ground, he strode past the mess of bones and brain that had been the general's head, and picked up the curious firearm he had drawn, far quicker than any sharp shooter on Shangrala besides those sons of nothing now dead or from New Varro.

He had never seen the like, even in the butcher's war or campaign against the Sorcerer kingdom.

"Lieren will love this" he said outloud, pocketing the strange device that spat invisible fire. And, pulling himself up the automaton horse his victim had road, left the battlefield, as the now leaderless army smashed into Allied lines, and kept charging forward without any regard for their own lives.

Feng paused, watching the battle for a moment before he departed, and before he granted a final mercy to the pitiful victims the general had surrounded himself with.

How exactly do you remove Lycuarch from power, Lieren?

>Swiftly and without delay, he shall hang before his army arrives in the valley. Loc'ea shall only know of its own revolution, by its new found, universal freedom and prosperity

Have the Virtuous and Good members if the court and family rise and overthrow the wicked. Have them judge both the corrupt Patriarch and our disguise. They will spare us and hang the vermin thus providing and example to the people that there is a path to being good. Show that men can rule men and that a Primarch need not be the only force of good.

Aside from Magnus and Pert, we've made Konrad worse somehow, made Leman think about something other than wolves, and helped Ferrus lay the foundation of a philosophy deeper than "get stronger." Now it's looking like "get stronger to protect the weak." We also gave Lorgar's dad a heart attack, but we don't know how that changed him yet. Haven't met/seen interludes of anyone else.

Given we share techniques and so on with Magnus maybe he'll end up mind bumping into another Brother without our help?

Another thing cones to mind though looking at the map of Primarch home world's we're getting further and further from the Galactic core heading into beyond the galaxy. Given chaos don't exist beyond our galaxy or they'd know about the nids maybe astral projecting into that very beyond and quiet might lead to the next step of enlightenment?

Maybe the next step of enlightenment is figuring out how null charms work. How does a rune affect the warp? It’s imply that there’s either a universal language that can call concepts anathema to chaos, or that there’s an unknown deity like the (formerly non-existant) Malal that powers it. The former would be enlightening, the latter would put us in contact with another ally.

Malcador looked over the Dataslate containing the sole copy of a report written by on of his top agents, the man had served him well these past decades and the loss of him would be felt for a time but as the Custodes and Astarte in Black finished rendering the former Agents equipment into a smouldering heap and his lab a ruin he read it again.

+++[Theoretic-Scenario-0818:The-Secondborne-Schism]
++[LOCAL-NODE: APPROVED]
++[AUTHORITY KEY: XXX-XXX]
As is this servants duty I have worked to plan and develop countermeasures for any unlikely situations our Emperor and the Imperium may encounter in future and while so far I have penned many over my service this may well be the one to fill me with the most dread, my only hope is that my data was incorrect and therefore my conclusion also false.

I refer hereafter to [The-Secondborne-Schism] a concept and worry about the possible future of Mankinds collective Destiny. Having reviewed the recordings taken from three score servitors, multiple eye witness accounts of the [DESIG: G.PATH] and finally numerous Astarte interviews I believe in short the Primarch operating under the Designation Lieren to be a grave threat on a scale we have not yet faced.

The core of this threat can be found within the pages of the manual text known as [THE JOURNEY] which while apparently little more than a source of mental and martial doctrine also shows the path of his life. This humble subject notes how Lieren despite having developed a flowered prose and romantic tone remains at his core the shrewd and calculative mind our Emperor intended. This blessed design has been tainted however by what the author simply refers to as [TYRANTS] and their impact upon the lives of others. The Second Son has hung more men from gallows than surly needed be? He shows a brutal pragmatism to achieve whichever goal need be met but most importantly for this report; Deception.

This servant theorises based upon the data gathered should the Secondborne ever deem the Emperor himself a Tyrant then not only would we not know before he chooses to act but the results could fracture the fledgling Imperium before it takes root! Already I see different Legions of Astarte murmuring his verses in reverence, whispering of his deeds in ways shockingly close to the old faiths. Seeds are being sown already and like he has shown in his writings he plays a long game.

Naturally any attempt to overthrow the Emperor is doomed to failure but having read the texts and studied it feel something Lord Sigillite, for the first time I here a voice not of the Beyond rather my own “What if”.

[REPORT END]

Malcador sighed as he tossed the data slate onto the pyre as another gout of fire torched a server stack, he turned his back and walked away dismissing the report and putting trust in his oldest friends plan, his Emperor's plan but then like a drop of ice cold water down his spine he felt it.

“What. If?”

Unrelated but I was wondering what do you guys think of us setting up an exchange program between our Legion and our closest brothers? Magnus and Angron for sure and i'd love Pert to be in on it.

>The Quadrate Concord
An agreement between the four Primarch; Lieren, Magnus, Angron and Perturabo where in each will send a number of their own sons to learn under the others mingling among the Sons of the Host legion and bringing back their lessons to their own Brothers. The exchange will occur at a lower level so that the cousins all learn to get along early in their training and development so as they move up the ranks they can make use of what they learn. It will be a great honour as they will have the chance to learn more while representing their own father and kin while also being purely voluntary. The objective is simple, improve relations, share skills, keep an eye on one another and establish experience so they can work together better in future should the need arise.

It takes no longer than half of an hour for Loc'ea to be free from the shadow of tyranny that has long hung over it like a smothering miasma. Having already placed men and women loyal to the cause of prosperity and righteousness in most of the important seats in the local courts of the high riders as well as maneuvering those of similar virtue and ability into key positions and stations throughout the city, there were only a handful of true and unforgiveable tyrants yet holding seats of power when Lycuarch sent his army forth to meet with the force of house Thal'kr. Unknown to the Patriarch of the black dogs, he had done away with those loyal to him and the wretched and selfish way of life of the nobility of Nuceria, and in their place allowed those who saw him for what he truly was to take power and surround him and those who still danced to the self indulgent song of cruelty, apathy and excess that characterized the rule of the high riders.

The moment the battle began, was the moment the curtain closed on the misrule of Loc'ea and by next morning, the new dawn would greet a city reformed, a bastion of equality and understanding tall amongst the other city states, like a lotus blossoming from the mud. With the army occupied and thus unable to respond to any distress calls that might be sent through Vox hailers or Radios, you struck, disseminating hidden orders as you as Kynigos went about your day as you were expected to, trotting a path well worn by your feet as acted the part of an aged creature of habit and strict schedule, dropping petals here to alert members of your beggar sect of the plan, handing notes to merchants who had been taught to read the code you had hidden in plain orders of honey, milk and dates, and by, in your idle musings, repeating a sequence of words that would carry from the lips of the guards and minstrels who over heard them, to the various nobles who allied themselves to your vision of the future of Loc'ea and her people.

As organized as a colony of ants marching across a garden, Gladiators were released from their cells and joined the city guard as they, as a singular force splintered and separated throughout the alleys and roads so as not to cause alarm or draw attention to themselves , converged on the palaces of the city were they were then joined by the house-hold guard of those houses who had fully turned over a new leaf and ridded themselves of the ancestral rot that had seeped into the roots of their bloodlines long ago.
And, like a river, they flowed past the walls of those houses who remained partially or wholely corrupt.

This initial action, was expedited by other loyalists capturing their family members, and former friends and peers and handing them over to the mob for safe keeping before joining the march with the soldiers loyal only to the coin they were paid. All the while this occurred, your beggar sect worked in the shadows, unlocking gates and disarming defenses.
Cont
>>
>>5429428

Thus, even those strong holds of degeneracy and disgrace, swiftly and silently fell. You observed their movements from your solar, seated upon a rocking chair, with a small book detailing the history of the house of Loc'ria, waiting for them to reach the gates of the palace you sat within. Then like gathering rain drops the march gathered together into a vast blanket of stomping feat and blazing conviction, they completely encased the palace's walls, having already alerted those born of Loc'ria's loins or who had serviced that snarling, rabid dog but had turned away in disgust from their relatives or masters.

You heard their footsteps, long before they reached the door to your room, and you closed your book and laid back with a contended smile as Lycuarch's own son entered your room and offered you his hand.

"Forgive me, grandfather, but I have received orders to take you" He said, as calm as he could be, knowingly leading his beloved teacher to what might be his unjust death "For your own health and safety, please do not resist. As you would say, my heart breaks like the morning mist meeting the sun"

You remain silent, and pat the boys hand, hiding a wry smile as he gently lifted you from your seat and guided you out to the court yard.

The head of the main branch of your beggar sect, the captain of the city guard, the leader of your gladiators and several other key members of the half hour revolution stand, dressed in plain white robes as they speak to a crowd, which has swelled with the dissatisfied and destitute of the city, and those who merely joined the flash rebellion out of a desire to see the death and mayhem of the gladiator games freed from the walls of the arena.

No time is wasted, in reading the sentences of the villains of the house of Loc'ria and those other swine and rats of the city, who now snarled and gnashed their teeth in impotent fury as the charges of their oppression and countless crimes were read off by a thundering voiced man, who spoke like the resonance of a funerary bell.

Lycuarch was the most wrathful of all, bellowing insults, curses and promises of death to the crowd as he stood beside you, his children who shared his character tried to match his bravado, but as one by one, their peers in wickedness were cut down or reduced to red hot glowing ash, their resolve to face their death with poise and wrath faltered, and they began to weep and beg for forgiveness.

the executioners, wielding some kind of variant of power axe that radiated such intense heat the blades themselves glowed white hot. Through some arcane mechanism, they collected the particles of melted metal and reintegrated them into the head of the axe, you did not understand yet how the field surrounding the axe accomplished such delicate work, but you would endeavor to find out once you had been released from the silk rope that your diciples in the house of Loc'ria had bound you in.
Cont
>>
>>5429429

Being tied with silk, was much kinder than how they treated the other accused and condemned.

They wore the collars of slaves, and were pelted with rotten fruit and stones, met with jeers and insults as they were marched forward, and judged by the virtuous and good of their family and court, and the leaders of the coup. They listened to the will of the city and their own new views of what is just and lawful, and what is morale and good, and carried out their sentencing one by one.

The most repugnant of the former ruling caste, were hung. Including Lycuarch, who, to your astonishment, managed to, through some dark force of will, grislily cling to his wretched life. Something you had seen no man do before, when hung by nooses tied by your hand. You were certain to measure the exact length to give them a quick and painless death, and from where you stood, you could see whoever had tied that length of rope had followed your exact specifications

He was just so furious and enraged by his betrayal and "humiliation" of having his numerous indulgences and petty sadisms exposed, that he survived having his spine severed cleanly and growled and roared wordlessly for several seconds, eyes bloodshot and foam pouring from his mouth before he finally lost his grip on mortality and slipped into whatever awaited him beyond the veil of the Empyrean.

And then, you were alone in the line of the condemned. Countless eyes fell upon you, and few looked upon you with contempt or hatred. Many faces, became flush with pity and remorse, a wall of concern and tears met you as you calmly walked before the judges and knelt down, eyes closed as the executioners stood silently. Their hands trembled, and you could hear their hearts beating rapidly as all attentions were rapt and focused solely upon the humble form of Kynigos the ancient, solemn and serene even though he could soon be ordained to die by the will of the people and judgement of their leaders. One rotten apple was thrown, and no more, as those who knew you as the kindly old man who wandered one day from the plains stopped those who were ignorant of your face and name.

The debate of what to do with Kynigos began, and soon it was discussed if you were deserving of death or lesser punishment for your career as a Lanista and his close involvement with the now dead Lycuarch and his once more populous house, and if you should be held accountable for the crimes of those whose lives you had saved from scurvy. Before they could reach their verdict and state your fate, which took far longer than any of those were ahead of you in line, the people of the city raise their voice, some crying out on your behalf, pleading for mercy, others coldly condemning you by association alone.

But, the men whom you had taught and guided to seeing the world through a clearer and more benign lens, are not swayed by either party.
Cont
>>
>>5429430

One of them, the head of the city guard, raises his fist, commanding silence as he stepped forward, expression grave and head bowed.

"Grandfather Kynigos, we have determined, is guilty of no crime. He has lived his life virtuously and wisely, selflessly giving his final, weak years to teach others in the often wayward hope that they will see that there is more to life than what we can see with our own eyes, and thus see the world his blind eyes behold every day. To know a satiated stomach is more pleasant the one filled to burst. That from the farmer with nothing to, to the king with everything, all life holds value. To one day, as he himself told me "We are born in the world, all men share the same cradle from birth to death" "

One of the heads of your beggar sect smirked and waved to you cheekily as all others were enraptured by the speech of the guard captain, the beggars, of course, being the only members of this short rebellion who knew your whole plan to begin with. And he being one of few who knows Kynigos is but a mask.

"See! How nobly he stands before death! Accepting it as another faucet of life! Unlike those rabid animals who spit and snarled and then wept and begged, debasing themselves when forced to meet this one thing all life must one day meet!" He bellowed "This man is not our enemy, not our foe, and had never been our opponent"

That confused those who had not read the Journey or read it completely, as they would not know the distinction between Enemy, Foe and Opponent yet

"We declare him innocent and free" He says with a sharp nod of his head "Unbind him, and escort him back to his room, so much excitement must be tiring for one as aged as himself"

You smile widely, as you see in the faces of the crowd, understanding and realization, that good deeds can be rewarded and a selfless path is not without its own benefits and that it is indeed possible to live generously and kindly without suffering or being punished for simply being just and fair. It reminds you of the early days of the Journey, when you had first began to write and spread it. When the abused and suffering realized the world was beautiful despite its imperfection, but it could be made better by their own labor and resolve.

It warms your heart, and lifts much of the ever increasing weight on your shoulders.

Things to note, we need to retire this persona but also not leave weird loose ends and conflicting accounts. So....

We approach the council and reveal the truth, how we trusted them with our life sure the valourous and good would prevail. With their aid fake the death of the old man passing on the Journey.

Guide the council to Angron as Lieren so they don't feel tricked into it and let them know the message is spreading. We then depart

I couldn't think of a better ending if I tried.
Though I am very tempted to dramatically fly away.

Centuries later, conspiracy theorists are going to assume anyone with a shred of poesy in them is actually Lieren.

This should give a good advantage to Angron rebellion and prepare his own set of reforms for the world, Lieren meanwhile can return hunting and directing the expeditionary forces in high tech tactical strikes, infiltrations and rapid assaults across the world, as well delivering blows on the local level to the tyrants logistics and leadership thanks to the beggar sect.
Beggar sect can also diffuse themselves across the tyrant cities, and spread words of Angron rebellion and of what happened here in Loc'ea.

The intent was for it to happen after the council chooses to ally with his cause.

> Loc'ea ruling council decides to join Angron (with or without prodding from Lieren)
> Angron and his army arrive in the city to meet with and formally join hands with them
> Kynigos greets Angron and his army as they enter the city.

+++ REMBRANCER LOG LM-B-BSF-00456-A EXCERPT BEGINS : Of my time among [REDACTED] my social explorations brought me from squad to squad finding any that would deign to speak to me. I later would come to find that I had an extremely easy time compared to my contemporaries within the other legions. One Astartes however caught my eye over his other brothers however, This brother was adorned in the symbology of [REDACTED] though it all seemed to have been carved by hand, minus the plume and laurels on his helm, as well as having eschewed the coloring of his brothers. Wearing the original colorless shine ceramite of the legion before it's reunion with it's Primarch. He sat like a tranquil island in a turbulent ocean among the other officers. Locked in what I can only assume was reflection on his actions through the crusade. I asked my newfound cohort of Astartes companions of this man. They fell into an, almost, silent respect. Brother Chen spoke first "That, my dear penman, is Bother Sergeant Falk. Terran born and Sergent for longer then some of my brothers have drawn breath." My interest had been piqued. I bid my companions farewell and made my way over to the officer's table to try and explore this man's history. After requesting my interview with this Sergent Falk he waved wordlessly to sit besides him, and what caught my eye first was a decoration on his right vambrace, a paw hand carved and inlayed with gold. +++

+++ As I sat the first wave of legion support staff filtered out with that evenings dinners. A strange fowl that I had never laid eyes upon served almost entirely whole that had been glazed in a complex sauce that evolved from sweet to sour as you ate, served along the fowl where small pastries filled with meats and vegetables that I became infatuated with. Later Falk would tell me these were called Bao on [DATA CORRUPTED] It was now that he finally removed his helm and it was then that I noticed the left eye lens was not an addition, but rather a prosthetic of a very rough and utilitarian design when compared to his brothers that occupied a sizable version of his head. As my eyes drifted in surprise I took in the rest of his visage, marred by countless battles he wore a tightly groomed beard and had braided the hair on the top of his head into a sort of Mohawk. When I went to study his eye I found it had already caught my impropriety with an annoyed side long golden gaze. For all of their differences, the marines all shared their Fathers golden eyes and his mannerisms to some degree. "Ain't polite to stare penman" he spoke slowly and sternly with an accent I had never heard "Apologies my lord, I was taken back by your visage." I had bowed my head in fear that I had offended the man. He snorted "Trust me penman when my mother birthed me she shrieked, this is an improvement" Those around us began to laugh "You have your work cut out for you wordsmith" another Sergent spoke through the laughter "Falk's more dull then the void" I had become thoroughly lost after this exchange, the rank and file brothers I knew to be around to their laconic skills. But the way the brothers spoke of those in command they held themselves to a higher standard. My confusion must have been obvious to their super human perception, The other Sergent spoke first "They tell you we have trees up our arses huh? Well to them we do, helps keep discipline." We continued eating and the officers broke off into their own conversations, my eyes still drawn to the paw on his vambrace. "I see you found something to ask about, figured out how you are going to ask yet?" He asked dryly as he grabbed another Bao "In honest Brother Sergent I have not" He snorted and nodded his head "Then skip the formalities and I'll fill you in"

The Sergent, Hyeon I learned later, from earlier raised his hands and the table quieted instantly. "I am sure you have heard the whispers of the favored son's vision on Terra. I had seen something similar before the legions reunion." He sipped at his tea before raising his fist and speaking again "This is a tiger's paw, A deadly beast from ancient Terran history and back on [DATA CORRUPTED]. I earned it on deployment on [DATA PURGED] during a particularly gruesome defense"

There was only hammering rain, sloppy mud, and distant bolter fire in all directions for kilometers on this sad rock. My squad had been given the duty of holding a post

cont.

That was serving as a forward command position coordinating operations across the front. As had become common place another wave of greenskins had made for our position. The commander of the post assumed it to be the usual rabble, until the rockcrete fortifications and the lower half of the man had been atomized by a ramshackle cannon of some insane design. Instantly the monotonous beating of rain on our armor had been replaced by weapons fire, and we along with our little brothers and sisters scrambled for cover. I gave out my orders under the hail of rounds and tried to reign in the locals as best I could before they completely routed.

Having dug in like ticks my brothers would peek out and pop greenskins that got too adventurous, Brother Nguyen scored a lucky shot with his missile launcher and put that cannon out of service. But as the hours dragged on ammo began to drain and the greenskins swarmed towards the breached wall. The squadd had taken up points on the perimeter wall to stem the flow of green, I had taken the breach itself, my chainsword bathed in X-ray blood and for the next cycle it stayed that way.

My bolt pistol was empty, the teeth of sword became dangerously close to clogging, and beyond the wire they kept pouring towards us. My armor pocked by countless rounds that failed to penetrate and scarred by the choppas that bite through the ceramite. It was the end I thought. To die in glorious combat on a backwater world having never met the Primarch. That was until I saw it. A phantom of a burning tiger over the horde. I was shocked, It looked directly towards me and spoke "Fight on".

I remember little of the what happened next, my brothers swear they could see flames pouring from my eye. Somehow I had regained my energy and cut through the horde to the Nob leading it. We dueled, he was slow and lumbering but powerful. I was quicker and could only land glancing blows. As it dragged on I knew a decisive. blow needed to be landed. I duck under a strike meant to take my head and slashed his thigh and moved from his reach, we circled each other like beasts. I knew what I needed to be done, so I charged him. No doubt he thought I had worn myself out as I made no attempt to dodge his choppa. But that was the deception, once he had ran me through I held his arm his arm in place, and as he grinned in his "victory" I rammed my sword through his teeth and revved. I was covered in its brain matter. I received my laurels that day for the victory of holding the post, they mean little for it was my duty. But this paw, I carved that as soon as we were relieved and every suit since I have adorned with it. +++

>Reunion
Magnus and Lieren looked upon one another for the first time with their eyes of flesh and blood. Two brothers whom had known one another a century and spoken into the night of both their worlds countless times now here under the same stars. But now in this moment they were both speechless, throats dry....tears flowing down cheeks unbidden. They didn't speak as they broke from their honour guards all decorum and manners forgotten, blown away in the sands of this unknown world.

Then they ran for one another.

The giants collided like a thunder clap neither had slowed for an instant rushing to embrace the other, they held one another finally united after all this time for what seemed like hours for no words needed be spoken in the way of flesh for their souls danced and glowed in unrestrained joy the lifeless ground itself sprouting blooms of cold ghostly white. Finally they parted enough to look one another in the face proper but still they held one another's arms as if fearful they'd wake from a dream.

It was Lieren whom broke the silance beaming with joy he began to laugh his iron wrought hair blowing in the wind and golden eyes twinkling like fires, he was quickly joined by Magnus whose Crimson skin was a touch more flush.

Finally that to faded and Magnus spoke to his beloved Brother,

“What took you so long? Lost on another path of your Journey?”

“I am sorry most benevolent Magnus I was searching for a suitable gift for this most auspicious of reunions.”

“and did you Lieren?”

“I-I uhhh....” the Second primarch scratched his head dumbly looking sheepish”

Magnus laughed again “You did get lost didn't you!”

Lieren turned his head and hid his face in a playful manner like the women of his home world would to hide embarrassment.

“I do wonder my dear brother how you, most polite and well versed in etiquette are always late?” he banged his fist against Lierens chest.

Again they laughed and looked into the Sunrise of this nameless place together; this world would become the first to be built from the ground up. A new eden for man, a place of understanding and reason. Nirvana

Okay, I think I'm good now. Sorry for extending the wait a few more days, I wasn't feeling well and end up spending most of the last two days asleep. Think its cause I ate some old salad and got a little sick from it. Different from the autumn blues that had been keeping me down earlier. I've archived the thread and will make a new one

Hopefully I won't be as unreliable as I have been.

So Lieren will "Retire" the idenity of Kynigos, but not before subtly guiding the city of Loc'ea to ally itself to Angron.

Horus looked about the room at his most trusted Brothers all gathered here upon Terra but in a hidden room. Before him stood Mortarion, Lorgar, Dorne and Ferrus each giving the others concerned glanced.

“I must apologise for the manner of this meeting and the unfortunate subject that is to follow.”

None of the others spoke and while Lorgar was about to he was stayed by Mortarion.

“It concerns one of our brothers; Lieren” Upon uttering the words he took careful stock of his brothers Micro expressions, Mortarion and Lorgar were intent to hear more, Dorne was confused and Ferrus quietly curious.

“We all know the good work of the Second Legion, their efforts in ensuring we remain unified, supplied, always able to call for aid. They have helped many of us even if we'd rather not admit it so openly or plainly. However I have uncovered something troubling.”

“What do you speak of?” Dorne spoke first.

“Some of my Agents have discovered that for the past Century our brother has been exchanging secret missives with the Sigillite.”

“You suggest something sinister” Ferrus grumbled,

“I suggest that our eccentric and the man whom thinks himself a puppet master are up to something behind our Fathers back. Consider this; the Second Legion are famed for subversion, assassination and quelling discord. The same legion which controls our supplies now and is now ever at our back. Lieren is always watching with those eyes, looking into us. Watching, always watching.”

“What do you think we should do?” Lorgar asked worried “what do they intend?”

The room hung in silence

Mortarion answered with a sneer“A coup, damned pskers, liars and deceivers all of them! Lieren has even assembled that little coven; Angron, Magnus...they even got their claws in Purterabo. Who knows if anyone else is compromised.”

Horus nodded “We must make ready and ask first.”

Everyone in the room nodded, everyone but Ferrus whom left without a word.
