/qst/ - Quests

I recently made a /qst/ a few days ago, but it's become very obvious that it is "shit". Only one person has interacted in days and that one person has not done anything in 24 hours.

What I would like to know, where exactly do you think I went wrong? Was it being to vague and letting the players pick a playstyle by combining three features, then telling them what faction they get or letting them pick from the factions that fit those three characteristic/features?

Was it the map was originally not filled in? Was it the title? Did I wait too long to reply or not wait long enough?

Was the problem that I allowed the players to be divided into multiple factions based on their interests? Was it not starting a new thread once people had voted on something enough? Was it not saying "First to three"?

Should I have frontloaded more mechanics?
>>
>>5264832
Forgot to post the /qst/ in question.
>>5261661
>>
Not going to lie I thought it was a multiplayer civ game based on the map so I ignored it.
>>
>>5264834
I took a look, and to be frank with you anon it's a bit dense. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but with it being so open-ended as well I imagine you lost a lot of players from decision paralysis. Gotta get some player investment before you loredump so hard, imo.

It's not a bad first try though- worth noting also that the board runs slow in these months. I wish you good luck in future endeavors.
>>
>>5264841
If if you're going to make a civ quest it's best to advertise so in the title. A better name would have been Cyberpunk Civ quest or something along that lines. Also there's a QTG where stuff like this is probably best to be posted at since meta threads like this can clog the board.
>>
>>5264844
I don't know if it counts as a /civ/ though?
>>5264841
I didn't want it to be mutiplayer, but then each option only got like 2 votes or something. Note to self, no mutiplayer.
>>5264842
Isn't it like Summer for college people? Do you consider the first two posts to be dense? If so, I really fucked up.
>>
>>5264880
I'd say it counts as a Civ quest. Or as close as one can get.
>>
>>5264832
Unpopular genre, unusual formatting, high barrier to entry on a quick skim. You're expecting a lot of mental effort from your players right from the get-go with no real emotional hook to prompt it.
>>
>>5264942
I, too, noticed the lack of boobies.
>>
>>5264942
What is the most mental effort in the first two posts?
>>
>>5264832
I thought it was a multiplayer game as well. Then when I read what the choices were and someone picked options I didn't like, I chose not to play.
>>
>>5264962
Would it be better if people voted for what we didn't pick or gave options points? I'd like something that seems reasonable to more people.
>>
>>5264832
Your formatting is kind of off putting. Have you lurked much? You might get more out of looking at other quests than a meta thread.

Also do keep in mind, this is /qst/, not having many players is something most QMs deal with. There is a reason an update a day is considered the gold standard here except for special cases.
>>
>>5265010
A few years ago, I lurked for months. People would lose their shit if you didn't update constantly. /civ/s were popular but every person who ran them would run off a few posts in.

Stuff would fall off page 10, if it wasn't touched in like two or three days.
>>
Once a day is fine now (the standard update pace actually) and civs are still semi-popular. Your title is just formatted weirdly desu
>>
>>5264834
Looks very dense, image and choices seem like a civ game but the title does not, overly detailed char gen kills quests pretty easily.
>>
>>5264880
Dense isn't just about quantity of text, but number of variables to consider. I see world history, politics, some kind of game UI thing with balance considerations, and I didn't even read anything yet.
>>
>>5265093
>>5265097
How would I make it feel more like a turn based game where factions have different playstyles or Command and Conquer or an RTS... but turn based?

Obviously while having less variables at first.
>>
>>5265107
If I'm getting this right, the feeling you're trying to portray is "You are the King" except the cyberpunk version, right? Maybe start with changing the title and/or using the first few lines to set that tone.
>>
>>5265107
Just put Civ in your title and you'll probably get more activity. Also maybe try switching up the map theme since it kind of looks like the maps used for multiplayer civ games here.
>>
>>5265111
>You are the King
When did I ever say that? Oh God, the OP is a disaster and people think it's about being king or something.
>>
>>5265127
Oh wait, it's because it's for the TZAR setting, which is an acronym.
>>
File: Choose your own faction.png (274 KB, 4500x2592)

This is the prototype for the new map.
>>
Nobody else has mentioned this, so I will: the map as the OP image is bland and looks exactly like a generic insta-flake civ. Pick something else and add the map in a followup post if you need one.
>>
>>5265134
>>5265189
Yeah this still isn't very eye catching or appealing, most people on qst associate maps with flakey civ quests. Take >>5223723 for example, it gives a good sense for the setting of the quest, it's easy to digest, and eye catching. Also your first post should be prose and introduce the player the the setting, not a spreadsheet of information.
>>
>>5265089
That era is gone man. I run currently and my threads lately last for almost two months
>>
>>5265199
>Also your first post should be prose and introduce the player the the setting, not a spreadsheet of information.
So it should introduce the setting and use a bunch of fancy, pretty words... but not be organized information? I'm really confused here.
>Introduce the setting
We can't do that though, because that would just be like 20 full posts of information, just detailing the major powers and who is at war with who and why. Even the biggest, most powerful factions might have no interactions with the players ever and there is no point in detailing what they are.
>Well just give us the basics
Okay, do you want me to tell you what is different?
>Yes
There are so many things that diverge from the reality you are familiar with and most people actually know nothing about the city they live in, let alone the nations of the world and the various superpowers.
>So what is your point
My point is you only need to know about your surroundings, what you are capable of, and what anyone around you is capable of... Which requires you to pick somewhere in the world to play as, without knowing anything about the world (Because even giving you a small idea of all your options, would take like six posts)
>So what?
So there was the idea to just let people pick how they wanted to play (Playstyle) or how they didn't want to play...and go from there.
>But your map is bullshit
Okay. What would you prefer?
>Do a map of a very specific location
A location that the players will most likely vote to never ever have a chance of ever going near?
>Don't be stupid, just show something that is common!
Like a jungle, and then the players vote for Desert? How about a urban area and the players vote to be in the middle of nowhere?
>>
>>5265257
I think your scope is way too broad. What's the point offering a gazillion choices when 99.99999% of them will be irrelevant after the first day of the quest? Why don't you narrow it down to a handful of locations you find interesting and present those as the only options?
>>
>>5265257
Please do not take this the wrong way.

Are you autistic? Pretty much all of that advice is solid, you specifically asked for help, and now you are walking around with your hands like "What can I do?"

And how the fuck does prose mean fancy, pretty words? Maybe don't write like the world's driest Wikipedia article. It's not hard, man.
>>
>>5265263
I'm not offering a gazillion choices, I'm offering six and you pick three.
>of them will be irrelevant after the first day of the quest?
This is why you pick thee and I offer only six.
>Why don't you narrow it down to a handful of locations you find interesting and present those as the only options?
Because all but one of those locations would never be mentioned again, so why mention them the first time? People in this thread literally said they lose interest if what is offered is not what they want to do.
>>
>>5265264
If you mean natural speech, half the page is literally written in informal language.
>Pretty much all of that advice is solid
Because your advice tells me to not follow your advice or the other peoples advice.

For example, everyone is telling me that I had too much writing in my OP and you linked to this really long really confusing OP. You have to read like three posts to have any idea what is going on and the guy keeps going, after he lists the options for you to pick from. That has to be one of the longest openings I've ever seen.
>>
>>5265269
>Which requires you to pick somewhere in the world to play as, without knowing anything about the world (Because even giving you a small idea of all your options, would take like six posts)
>A location that the players will most likely vote to never ever have a chance of ever going near?
>Like a jungle, and then the players vote for Desert? How about a urban area and the players vote to be in the middle of nowhere?
All of these things indicate too many options and a lack of focus. Quests that give too much leeway in their early stages almost universally crash and burn, because 1) the QM loses interest when players pick something they don't like, 2) players lose interest when other players pick something they don't like, and 3) it's boring to drag out chargen. Especially when all you're doing is dry infodumps.

What you need to do is boil everything down into
>Play as guerillas in Africa
>Play as fanatical missionaries in Asia
>Play as trained soldiers in Europe

One choice. And then get started with the quest. And even this might be too unfocused-- you need to do some self-reflection about which options *you* prefer. Do you really want to write about Asia in your setting? Set it in Asia. Don't let players choose. They won't get upset if you never give the option, because they won't know it exists.

>>5265271
Holy hell dude. This is a fairly normal quest OP written in prose, like a solid majority of quests.
>had too much writing in my OP
You had too much dry expository writing. You need to hook people in before you dump you Wikipedia article on them.
>>
>>5265271
You keep saying "you" like about four of us are the same person. This board has IDs for a reason. Are you new? Like to the site? I'm not saying you need a wall of text but an establishing paragraph or two would make everything way more approachable. Pull up a word processor, write up a concise summary of your setting. Maybe add a summary of how gameplay is expected to be after that as it is a civ.

I really cannot over empathize how weird the formatting schema you chose was. Inherently alienating and we get a lot of civ quests here most of which die quickly. Think, what draws eyes to yours? Setting? Mechanics? Cool OP image?
>>
All offense meant but civs are well known for being some of the most flaked on quests in general, so most people don't even bother engaging with them. Me included.
>>
>>5265275
You are straight up not making any sense. You are literally sitting down and telling me that if the wrong option is picked, people will leave... but if any good options don't exist... They will just sit and play a trash /qst/ with nothing they like?
Are you implying that either the posters are intellectually disabled, or are you implying that I am not actually a writer? Seems like you are implying both.
>>5265275
Exposition is telling people what is happening. My first posts tell people NOTHING ABOUT THE SETTING. It just says "Oh, everything is on fire and you know nothing".
>Example
Also, prose and exposition are extremely alike.
"Exposition is the act of explaining something. Prose is the ordinary form of speaking or writing"
The first post literally uses informal, written language to say you know nothing.
>Holy hell dude. This is a fairly normal quest OP written in prose, like a solid majority of quests.
The entire first four or five posts are nothing but dry exposition. If it was any drier, it would be used to dehydrate food.
>>
>>5265279
Im gonna boil everything way the hell down, removing all other criticisms in favor of one.

You have NO hook. None. No description of cool setting, no accessibility, no cool OP image or unique map. You clearly have no fucking self awareness. Maybe lurk for another two years and try again
>>
>>5265277
I was here, I remember how /civ/s would get flaked on so fucking fast we used to wonder if one or two trolls were making them all, and leaving them to die...as like a prank or something.
>>5265276
Dude, this is fucking insane. One person is telling me that I need to avoid exposition and explaining anything, now you're telling me I need to establish the setting. Which is it?
>>5265276
>Maybe add a summary of how gameplay is expected to be after that as it is a civ.
This might be the most helpful advice so far.
>>
>>5265279
If a player is denied an option they want, they might leave. It’s about the rejection, not the lack of choice.
>>
>>5265285
Nobody is going to have an aneurysm if you have a paragraph or two establishing the setting. I mean, maybe you have some super secret plan to reveal it over time which is cool and all, but people will bounce off if they have nothing at all to latch on to.
>>
>>5265283
A hook would be like being rebels in Africa, but I was just told (Possibly by you, who gives a fuck) that no one wants to be rebels in Africa.

Everything you mention contradicts something else someone else said, again, possibly you.

You are mostly asking for exposition, which I was just told to not do. I was just told that sensory overload is a problem, but you are asking for a completely filled in map with like 10-35 colors on it. OP image can't be a specific location, people just a few posts up explained why it can't be a specific location.
>Hook
The fact that basically the entire planet is at war could be a hook, but if I explained who was at war with who and why, it would be pointless if you're stationed nowhere near the fighting.
>>5265286
That's decently less insane than what I wear hearing earlier.
>>5265287
Okay, so you say I need at least two paragraphs describing the setting, but then I was just told I had exposition and too much. So I somehow had too much exposition and not enough, I somehow have like paragraphs and paragraphs, but not two.... Which is it?
>>
>>5265279
>Seems like you are implying both.
You are being defensive in a thread you yourself made for people to give you advice about your failed quest.

>You are literally sitting down and telling me that if the wrong option is picked, people will leave... but if any good options don't exist... They will just sit and play a trash /qst/ with nothing they like?
Let me give you a scenario. You have a table at a bake sale. Your customers like peach cobbler, but love chocolate cake. You don't like chocolate cake. What do you do?
>Offer the chocolate cake and the peach cobbler. Your customers demand chocolate cake. You burn out of baking chocolate cake every day and quit the bake sale.
>Offer the chocolate cake and the peach cobbler. Now a majority of your customers like peach cobbler, but some hate it and only like chocolate cake. Your majority demands that you spend all your time baking peach cobbler, so the chocolate cake customers-- who were standing in line for chocolate cake-- are sad and leave.
>Offer the peach cobbler. The people who love peach cobbler and the people who like peach cobbler (but prefer chocolate cake) both stay. The minority of people who hate peach cobbler never come to your stand in the first place.

>>5265279
>Also, prose and exposition are extremely alike.
??????????????????
"Prose" is something written in a narrative format, like you were reading it as a story. "Exposition" is when you spend time directly explaining your setting or plot, not necessarily in prose, and is often called out for being unnatural and boring.

>One person is telling me that I need to avoid exposition and explaining anything, now you're telling me I need to establish the setting.
EXPLAIN THINGS IN A NATURAL INTERESTING CONCISE WAY OH MY GOD
>>
>>5265289
>it would be pointless if you're stationed nowhere near the fighting.

>>5265289
>A hook would be like being rebels in Africa, but I was just told (Possibly by you, who gives a fuck) that no one wants to be rebels in Africa.

>but you are asking for a completely filled in map with like 10-35 colors on it.

>>
>>5265289
>Everything you mention contradicts something else someone else said, again, possibly you.

The fuck? Yeah, because you’re asking for advice, so different people are giving different opinions. Congratulations, you’ve figured it out: if two pieces of advice are contradictory, you can only follow one. Good for you. None of us are magically solving this for you. It’s your fucking job to read the advice and figure out what to take, and what to drop.
>>
>>5265290
I'm being told that the food is too dry and too wet at the same time, of course I am frustrated.
>Let me give you a scenario.
There are a lot of problems with this, one of them is that as a baker I like baking everything. I actually have years of offering chocolate cake, but the customer simply walks up to the ordering screen and somehow manages to add and take away things till it's blueberry pie. Maybe a week later somehow the blueberry pie is actually Ravioli somehow, but again, I like baking so much that somehow includes foods that are not actually baked.

In other words, if I slapped down one of those old /civ/ fantasy things, everything to me looks good.
>Prose
I have three books on writing and none of them say that is what prose means. I just Googled all four definitions of Prose and they don't match either.
Prose means either informal speech, boring long fluffy text.

It literally dates back to older words meaning "direct speech" and examples in old literature indicate that it means something like "written words that read like rambling".

In writing critic circles, "prose" is often a dirty term. It's a polite say of saying your writing is so bad, you need to kill yourself... or it just means "written text".
>>
>>5265289
Bitch we have IDs. Learn to fucking read them instead of being a fucking annoying schizo and assuming everyone who is getting frustrated with your autistic, hostile ass is one person.

God, fuck me for trying to help people.
>>
>>5265296
You literally made those definitions of prose up, holy fucking shit. You are a retarded schizo.

You know, we have a guy on /qst/ who 100 percent thinks he is a Vampiric Sorcerer who runs with then global elite. He has run multiple successful threads and is well liked despite his eccentricity.

You just fucking suck.
>>
>>5265296
>I actually have years of offering chocolate cake, but the customer simply walks up to the ordering screen and somehow manages to add and take away things till it's blueberry pie. Maybe a week later somehow the blueberry pie is actually Ravioli somehow, but again, I like baking so much that somehow includes foods that are not actually baked.
But this isn't how bake sales work. You can't bake for individual people's tastes, because there's only one you and you'll burn out from baking seventy different things. So you offer set options which customers have to pick from, and if they try to tell you to bake blueberry pie you tell them to fuck off.

>In writing critic circles
You are a guy who couldn't even run a quest, which has the average writing quality of a dishrag and an audience of lowest common denominator autists.
>>
This thread is already much more entertaining than your first quest. Congrats on a successful second try Anon!
>>
>>5265299
I think it's because Souv is polite and self-effacing to a fault and appears to be legitimately intelligent on top of that. All traits our OP doesn't share.
>>
>>5265291
It is impossible to positioned anywhere people are not actually going to fight, it's just that you're likely to not pick somewhere that is anywhere near where the MAJOR GLOBAL POWERS are fighting.

Think of WW2, tons of fighting was not in Europe or even North Africa or the Pacific Islands. The bulk of people who died were actually on the Mainland for Asia, and that fighting started like three decades prior. If the players pick to be Chinese Nationalists fighting off bandits and the Japanese, who gives a fuck about anything happening in Europe?
>>5265292
>no cool OP image or unique map
So this is not asking for the map to be unique?
>>5265299
Dude, go onto wikipedia right now and Google the word Prose. The results will be what I mentioned, not what you mentioned.

Are you literally too headstrong to Google words you THINK you understand?
>>
>>5265304
>it's just that you're likely to not pick somewhere that is anywhere near where the MAJOR GLOBAL POWERS are fighting.
THEN STATION THEM NEAR THE MAJOR GLOBAL POWERS

>So this is not asking for the map to be unique?
THE MAP IS NOT A COOL OP IMAGE REGARDLESS OF THE AMOUNT OF COLORS
>>
>>5265303
My only issue with Souv is he just runs shit in qtq between threads but Im not going to pretend he was taking up space for good content. I just use the place for ads and laughing at qm drama anyway.
>>
>>5265308
I mean, I completely agree, but because he's so polite I don't get that mad about it. I'm glad he made his own thread today though.
>>
>>5265303
I think he’s an annoying motherfucker, but god yeah he’s really nice. Schizophrenic as fuck, but actually has intelligence. Op has just been a faggot the whole time who gets overly defensive.

>>5265304
Just don’t use the map. The map fucking sucks. Use something else.
>>
>>5265304
Nigga, you are so fucking, monumentally stupid you have conflated "purple prose" a pejorative, with "prose" the generic term for how nearly every single fictional work has utilized language since the invention of fiction.

How the fuck do you walk outside and not get misted by a truck, failing to accept what a fucking road is, you god damned moron?
>>
>>5265301
But I am not baking 70 different things, I am merely flexible and able to make something specific based on what 3-6 random people want to include and not include into something I am cooking. I'll give you a hint, it's a skill you learn by using the products that are talked about on /tg/.

This thread literally said over and over that /civ/s fail purely because people expect them to fail, so no one has any interest in them. Are you going to argue with those other people?
>>5265306
They said cool or unique..... OR. Do you know what OR means?
>>5265311
I'm not defensive. I'm being told to do things I did, or not do things I didn't do. I'm also being told to do something and not do it. Why can't people yell at each other and not me, if you people can't make up your mind what is good or bad?

The first meaning is "written words in general", you picked that as your option.

If I read to you a story, that is a narration. If I read to you a narrative, that is narration. Ergo, anything that is a narrative, is also WRITTEN narration.

Also you locked yourself into the argument that he was insistence that my writing...include words. That was what you said, you didn't check to see what you were saying before you said it.
>>5265341
One of the dictionaries describes the original meaning for prose as writing in an informal manner, such as a steam of consciousness.

I said this twice. I also said that Prose has multiple definitions, something like three or four times.

But that's not what happened and thus that can't be something that can go wrong. What you are describing literally can't happen.

Critical Success!

OP slams his keyboard in rage, bloodshot eyes glimmering from barely-strained tears.

The rage. The humiliation. The pressure. It was too much! In one of the many blood vessels supplying OP’s brain, a section of arterial wall begins to weaken. His elevated blood pressure exploits the vulnerability ruthlessly, stretching the already-strained tissue beyond its physical limits. Slowly, surely, the vessel dilates: an aneurysm begins to form.

Roll to pop aneurysm, best 3d100.

Okay, let me break it down for you.

Imagine that instead of what I did, I instead asked the players to pick something like a species and class. Now imagine that what species you pick effects how your class is different, let's say the elves have different wizards than everyone else.

That's basically what happened.

Now, I appear to be told that I should be writing like two paragraphs about being a human wizard.....when we might end up as a Elf Warlock......

Don't scream at me and tell me I need something dramatic. That's being retarded. Rise above the retardation and tell me a fucking solution to my problem.
>>5265366
I ran a ton of those years ago and I got bored with them because it was just one guy. Other people were really into them, but not me. I also used to run different types of /civ/s and all of them did well enough to last multiple threads.

I used to let people pick from six factions and then change one feature of that faction, because they were going to be all the factions they could pick from were dead...and they were picking the feature that would allow them to rise from the ashes.

So like, someone might pick something like the Roman Empire, but change one thing about it to explain why it would rise and last, unlike the Roman Empire.

All of this was done, it was good, it's all canon and I ran like 30+ players in TTRPGs in the aftermath of what the /qst/ people did...

But I want to do something different now.

Success!

After seeing a particularly uninformed post in which an Anon had the gall to YELL at him (in all caps, no less), OP’s blood pressure skyrockets: 190/130. Hypertensive crisis. The pressure could be contained no longer. The cerebral aneurysm bursts open. Blood pushes gushes forth and pushes against the surrounding grey matter, creating a focal lesion in his frontal lobe.

Despite losing the majority of his executive functions, OP feels almost nothing – only a vague sense of lightness, as if freed from a vestigial organ. Shockingly, his desire to post only intensifies.

What could be done to stop this madman? Roll again for another aneurysm?

Half the "solutions" contradict all the other working /qst/s on this board. I can look right now at all the working /qst/s and what they do, and I am being told to not do whatever they are doing.

Most of the "advice" is like this.
>>5265391
And I said that I had literally done that years ago and mastered it years ago. I've had more successful threads then most of you here, I'm just obviously having serious issues with a format that is nothing like what I normally do.

Also, can someone else roll? The sooner ObserverQM can kill off Op, the sooner we can leave.
>>
>>5265394
Okay, I would start the advice by clearing up how much information you would be interested to know, if you might end up playing basically any location in the world.
>but we said not to do that
Just breathe. Breathe.

Imagine you exist in multiple timelines, blah blah, in some of them you want to be X Force during WW2 and others you want to be in Ethiopia or whatever.

Now, imagine what information about the wider world would be a "hook" to you, if you picked either of these locations. How detailed is that information? Is it exactly two paragraphs? Do you care what Japan is doing? Do you care what Italy is doing? Would you prefer to just have the two alliances dropped and get the general idea what they stand for?

How much do you want to know about the wider world, presuming it might be important or not?
>But I said human wizard
You exist in two timelines. One you pick human wizard/Ethiopia, the other you pick Elf Warlock/X Force.
>>
>>5265398
Correct. I agree, Op, you should follow this advice, whatever this is.
>>
>>5265394
The second thing that I would provide if I was giving advice to myself.

Clearly dry narration is bad, and clearly whatever my first post was, was also bad. I would either explain that the first OP doesn't explain anything, but it "feels" like dry narration. I would explain clearly if I want an informal narrative or not, if I want the first post to be like in third person or something or not.

I would also be super clear if the first post gives TOO MUCH information or NOT ENOUGH. If it was the wrong kind, I would say that and say so specifically.
>>
>>5265398
Okay *my* revised advice for you is as follows:
>If you need the exact template of the OP post spelled out for you literally step by step (protip: nobody follows a step by step template for this, which is why nobody has provided one), you are straight up not going to hack it and should grab that .45

>>5265413

>>
>>5265394
Third thing for giving advice,

I would sit my ass down and figure out why exactly the /civ/ format normally struggles and what it's benefits are. Clearly the OP is insane and wants to do something a lot like a /civ/ so I can't talk him out of this idea. The only thing I can do is make sure his /civ/ is the best /civ/ it could be. I guess.

Civs provide a lot of options, I need to decide if this is what kills /civ/s or really the problem is that people think the OP will flake. If I think the problem is people expecting the OP to flake, maybe I can try and think of how the OP can see like an insane person will need to write to live, and thus would die before flaking.

After all, who cares if the OP is insane, as long as he doesn't flake right?

Now, it is possible I think the REAL PROBLEM or equal problem, is that people look at a big menu and then everyone orders something else. I need to explain why we need to fundamentally strip out the core of /civ/ in this /civ/ to address this issue.

Failure!

The hypertensive episode was subsiding. Blood loss from the burst aneurysm had relieved some of the pressure in OP’s overtaxed circulatory system. But there could by another option…

A glimmer catches OP’s eye. On the nightstand next to his bed, he sees his pistol. Chambered in 45ACP no less. God’s caliber. Powerful enough to win two world wars, but quiet enough to be fired without waking the young children sleeping in the room nearby. The round was subsonic after all, and subsonic rounds don’t make any noise – even when fired from a pistol inside a closed room.

OP flips off the safety, checks the chamber, and places it against his temple. Willpower test, best 3d100.

Critical success!

OP does not hesitate for a second. In fact, his executive brain functions had already been neutered by the aneurysm he had suffered a few minutes earlier. It would be more accurate to say that he no longer had the capacity to hesitate. He inhales and squeezes. The hammer drops.

A .45 ACP round glides soundlessly through his skull, pulverizing the entirety of his frontal and parietal lobes. A shower of blood and bone fragments spray from the exit wound, covering the wall with a spray of gore. He pauses for a second, teetering. Fortunately, he still hears snoring from the room next to him. Thank god the children were still asleep.

Could this be it? Is OP finally dead? Is it possible for him to still post using only the battered remnants of his brainstem?

I apologize in advance for the poor artwork. Hopefully it conveys the message despite the crude presentation.

I am not defensive, you are just so unhelpful and retarded, I am triggered and upset. I literally don't give a shit about my /qst/, I am upset that you are physically incapable of being helpful or giving advice. I literally teach people have to give advice for a living.

>Write-In
>Give the IRS advice on how to run their business

Roll intelligence for interview performance. Since this is a job at the IRS, rolls will be judged based on inverse scoring (lowers scores better).

Best 3d100.

Okay, you admitted that you were never trying to be helpful and were just trying to drag down this entire board. Got it.

We don't do that on the other boards usually and /qst/ used to have people who were actually helpful.
>>5265513
This is wrong, they've been underfunded since the Trump days, so much that I'm amazed they can do anything at all.
>>5265515
Please, he doesn't even know how guns work. I bet he walks around talking about his "shoulder thing that goes up".

I was trying to be helpful for like 30 min and then you proved to be a lolcow. I explained this already, kek. Also "this entire board" no moron I'm dragging down you specifically. That's now the purpose of the thread. Keep up.
>>
>>5265516
Jesus dude, come out to Appalachia. We'll have some shine, shoot some guns(well I will), and then I'll give you a local view tour of an old coal mine out near Craigsville. This is my olive branch!
>>
>>5265518
If you were actually trying to be helpful, that is incredibly sad.

Most of your "advice" literally was "Don't do a /civ". Look back at your advice right now.
>Why don't you narrow it down to a handful of locations you find interesting and present those as the only options?
Don't do a /civ/
> OP image is bland and looks exactly like a generic insta-flake ci
Your thing looks like a /civ/, make it look like something else (This was maybe like 50% helpful, but it was said in the least helpful way)
>2) players lose interest when other players pick something they don't like,
Don't do /civ/
You explained why, but it's still, don't do a /civ/

Gun knowledge test. You have 5 minutes to list as many reasons why the Kalashnikov is actually unreliable as a design. I will also accept things about it that make it reliable, but fuck with the design and cause serious trade-offs.
>>
>>5265526
I think it's the irons and magazine, but that reminds me way too much of the worst COD.

Why did you make the part of the barrel after the gas-system so thick and then flute it? I think the gas-system is way too short as well, but I am not 100%

Did you seriously M16A2 your barrel?
>>
>>5265528
The piston system has unacceptable recoil. The front trunion has a tendecny to break if made poorly. It is easy to get mud into the device because the top cover isn't fitted tightly compared to the AR platform, which has super tight lockup when the bolt is closed. Most cheap ammo is corrosive, so cleaning is often a huge pain. I could go on.

Post your bare asshole and I'll do it, shithead.

I'm no gun expert you fucking sperg, my shitty secondhand Glock 17 works for me. I bet my ass you are no guns tho.

Success!

The first part of your interview goes surprisingly well after you notice that your interviewers looks remarkably...similar to you.

"It looks like you're perfect for our position, especially given your ideas about how we could run our business"

"But we have one more question for you..."

"What does /qst/ mean? And why is it listed on your CV?"

Let your butthurt boil and bubble.
Let it rise to the surface until it's about to pour over.
Then, let go of all emotions.
Only then will you be able to run a good quest.
>>
Also, you got many kernels of gold in the shit storm that was flung at you, you'd do good to pick out the kernels and take 'em along with ya.
>>
I hope this doesn't discourage you from making another quest, man. I'd play it. Consider this something like a /qst/ rite of passage.
>>
Holy shit, I cannot believe this thread. Poor old OP was just asking for some simple advice and empathy from other QM's and lurkers;

And when he got the good advice he was looking for from everyone about how to better format his writing and wording etc., he started babyraging to everyone about his quest's imperfections and and became a lolcow. Lmao, I cant believe how much this thread has made me laugh, I was honestly crying of laugher at one point. Thank you >>5265544 for making me laugh until I cried.

I am very happy I clicked on this thread, OP just calm down and re-read the advice a couple times and maybe you will overcome your autism, despite how much I enjoyed laughing at you this thread I still believe in your ability to do better, eventually.
