You are Lieren of Nothing, General in the grand and virtuous Imperial army of the Long-Jian Empire, Grandmaster of both the Brothers of the panther and Wanderers in the fog, Creator of the Journey and founder of its philosophy, enemy of all wicked spirits and mortal tyrants, friend of the common man and the oppressed, spreader of prosperity, Builder of the Giant's road and the Primarch of the second legion of space marines.

Grief stricken by the lost of Bai, you sought a means to achieve a decisive and final victory over the Vishnu Menace and saw sought the advice of your honored adoptive Father Wenyan and your Progenitor, the Emperor of mankind, to solve this conundrum and ease your distress caused by the ever rising cost of lives committed to the war effort.

Illuminated by both of your fathers' wisdom and council, your determination to cast down the Butcher Tyrant and slave to the foul dark spirit Kong Nue Redoubled! Realizing that Nitya Sinha wished to shed as much blood to perform a evil ritual most foul with the casualties of war serving as both sacrifice and offerings to the repugnant throne of Kong Nue, you swore to your Father that the butcher and all of his thralls would hang.

But then, your distant father on Terra offered to lend you aid in your battle without detailing the form the assistance would take. Overjoyed, you accepted the offer and promised to make it an exchange of resources rather than a one sided exchange of gifts from father to son

So, preparing a shipment of weaponry, armaments, vehicles, raw material resources, data slates containing worthwhile and useful knowledge, you made a tithe to your honored father in similar manner as you once paid to the foul slug Gao Liwei, including spare Panther furs amongst the more practical gifts, which included, in the first containers and crates that would be presented to your father, a collection of the dangerous Water Generating Stones and many copies of your Journey, both physical and digital, alongside schematics of the weaponry and war machines you were donating to your father's own war effort.

Explaining the meaning for your sudden gathering of resources to the war council and Emperor Long-Jia Jinhai, you prepared for your father to contact you to perform the exchange across the vast expanse of space patiently, as the Imperial army marched unrelentingly onwards, continuing the bloody conflict with the Butcher's dog without you for a time but waiting for the Boon you had promised them would soon arrive from the heavens...

Dae-Hyun's cold flesh shivered as the invasive cybernetic implants connecting him to the sarcophagus of the Contemptor Pattern Dreadnaught brushed against his frayed and severed nerved endings, pierced through his pallid flesh and wrapped and nailed through the bones of the remains of his limbs.

He gazed out at the world through a collection of Visual Auspexs, pict-finders and sensor nods. He had sat the man shaped tank of armor that he now commanded, upon a pile of crates containing a portion of the armaments the emperor had portioned away to gift to his father, the Primarch Lieren. A sense of trepidation afflicted the interred astartes mind, as he silently observed the proceedings to activate the portal that would allow him to walk to his father's side and hopefully die assisting him in his own war against a particularly aggressive tribe of techno barbarians that intel Uncle Malcador had allowed him to review so he'd know what he was up against, suggested were a few threat levels higher than the clans he had become accustomed to crushing in the defense of the nascent new empire of mankind. Just another band of savages to be crushed against the godamned bulwark of humanity's future

Around him, Platoons of his Legion's little brothers, primarily of the Seowl ranger regiment who volunteered to stand by the great man who rose from their homeland one last time even though they, along with the elements from the Shuomi Ursine guard and Creti Grave wardens, who were gathered around the Ceramite memorial, marking down their names and deaths as "MIA" next to the honored dead lost in the 2nd Legion's various, glorious campaigns. Dae-Hyun had already placed his own, before he sat down to wait for the days it had taken to create the transport device that would allow them to reach the distant World of Shangrala. In that time, those brothers both who would remain to fight the emperors crusade and those who would join him on this adventure into the unknown reaches of the galaxy, had chosen to decorate his casket, showing a kind of grim sense of humor as they did so.

One of his captains even managed to find an old bear pelt large enough to drape over the head of his dreadnaught shell, while most others simply carved into its armor plating graffiti. Some of which was serious, and held meaning, like catchphrases and lingos. Some were random doodles or playful insults to the Great bear of terra, that was dug in the paint of the armor he wore, its ceramite left unpainted so he may dress himself in whatever colors his father favored. Those he had recruited or had volunteered from the various sects forming in his...what was his legion to command wore the colors that held some symbolism to them. Others mimicked the colors of the Seowl rangers, Creti Grave wardens or Shuomi Ursine guard. But just as many followed Dae-Hyun's example and remained uncolored, amongst seas of Marble white, concrete greys, blacks, Vivid greens, Rust reds and oranges, Blues and more pastel colors that the sects wore to differentiate themselves from each other and the unaligned members of the legion.

Badges of honor, accolades and war trophies were pinned to Dae-Hyun's outer chassis by servitors, as his weapons were fitted onto his chassis at last, customized as he requested

Twin linked heavy bolters, A dreadnaught sized power fist with a heavy flamer replacing its inbuilt twin linked bolters.

He commanded his coffin to rise, and stand, the company of astartes and gene modded base line soldiers parted before him as he stomped to the front of the host and waited, the servos inside of his weaponized tomb hissing as he stood at attention before what Malcador had referred to as a small company before the addition of the various elements of the Imperial guard, but was nearly a full battalion of the Second Legions forces. Three hundred Astartes , reinforced by two thousand seowl rangers, twelve hundred Creti Grave Wardens, and eight hundred Shuomi Ursine guard. A small force to be sure, compared to the vast and constantly growing armies of the emperor, but it was an apocalyptic force even if it was compose of a fraction of the 2nd legion's strength

How proud he felt, looking upon his men, to lead them into battle one final time. He was confident that the command structure of the legion would endure, lead by the marine he chose to pass on the responsibility to. Some, close members of the 3rd legion and War hounds were present to watch their departure, amongst this crowd of spectators was the captain of the Fourteenth Captain of the warhounds, Dae-hyun's personal friend Yazid Khalid, who did his best to hide his sorrow behind a warrior bluster as he alongside on of Dae-Hyun's own former subordinates, read off the flippantly casual and joking epithets that covered the memorial where Dae-Hyun's own name now sat

"First Legion master, Dae-Hyun, the Fortunate son, Great Bear of terra, Scarface, Stubborn old dog, and the Bulwark of Humanity's future" The War hound read off boisterously, loud enough for all of the hangar bay to hear as the servitors connected the final pylons and cabling to power the small, strangely shaped device that would supposedly transport Dae-hyun and his men to his father's side "Nothing on Terra's soil could kill him, so he left us behind here. Wherever his grave will be dug, we'll share a drink when we find it and our genesire again! Hah! Like Scarface is going to die. I'm sure we'll meet out there in the stars, brother"

Dae-Hyun laughed, his booming voice carrying through the hall, much louder than his natural voice

"We'll see, Yazid, I will certainly try not to die before then" He jested, to ease his own nerves as the less serious and grim amongst their audience joined him in laughing at the War hounds blithe joking around. It wouldn't be long now, until he departed to never again see the faces of these men he knew as his brothers, even though they did not share a genesire, so Dae-Hyun was being damn certain to savor their last moments together

Cont

As were all of his men, who spoke their last insults to their brothers who would remain define, exchanging well meaning barbs or embracing one another while repeating their call signs so the other would not forget it or forcing them to promise to kill their share of savages now that they would be gone. It was very much like a funeral, but much less somber and much more lighthearted and lively. Dae-Hyun sensors detected a few of the more pompous 3rd Legion astartes rolling their eyes or sighing heavily as they watched the boisterous mingling of the 2nd legion and their baseline comrades, especially those that watched their own brothers join in the shenanigans and good natured pranking.

A band of brothers they remained. If Dae-Hyun truly died now, this was the perfect final sight to witness. It was a fitting send off, and certainly felt like his own funeral. His chapped lips curled into a crooked smile, as at last the emperor approached. He turned off his audio auspex, not wishing to ruin the perfect departure with his master's speech. it would certainly be historic and inspiring but...well, seeing his men act naturally and hearing their voices was all he needed to find the strength to leave behind the cradle of humanity and become the first of the space marines to walk upon a forgotten world. Anything else would spoil the mood, even if it was a speech by the rightful Emperor of mankind himself. Hearing the boys bullshit and joke around was enough, besides he was certain he could always ask one of the others joining him on the Journey what was said.

Dae-Hyun thought on the past and pondered the future, before his sensors told him that now was the time to focus again, detecting a huge energy surge that meant the gateway was being powered up. Turning on his auspex once again, he turned to the Emperor as he was addressed directly

"Dae-Hyun, my unwavering shield and loyal servant. First master of my second legion and the Bulwark of humanity's future, you have my blessing to join your father as the vanguard of what shall be the greatest crusade in humanity's long and storied history" He says solemnly "and I swear, should you die in this grand undertaking across space , I shall return your ashes to the shores of Seowl"

Dae-Hyun knew he was right to zone out. If he had heard the whole speech, he was certain he'd be crying now.

Like a radiation storm, the massive gateway powered on. Sheets of golden light forming together as strange, foreign script glowed through the surface of the anchor and along the vastness of the interdimensional tunnel

"Singing?" Dae-Hyun asked, as he heard the most melodic and beautiful sound he had ever heard, joined by a gruff almost mechanical chanting. Like angels of the old superstitions joining their voices with the cold machine of logic.

Menials, scribes and Remembrancer gathered around him a swarm of rats, seeming all the smaller now that he was stuck in this ceramite straight jacket.

they were aiding in transporting the care package the emperor was sending along with them, alongside a herd of servitors which helped count the tally and prepare the mechanized shipping crates. Scribes, with their cybernetically enhanced perception and manual dexterity, recorded every word spoken by the emperor and Dae-Hyun, while the Remembrancer captured the moment. Dae-Hyun heard the boss planned to officialize these artists and journalists, and was running a test run of their abilities now before giving them any special privileges. Dae-Hyun wondered if he could get away with stepping on one or two of them, as he found them and the idea itself irritating beyond description.

But he decided against wanton slaughter, and instead pivoted and turned his mechanical body to face the golden hole in space, and gaze out into its radiant halls. His sensors detected an increased heart rate as his excitment reached its pinnacle

"Father, I am coming" He whispered, his own voice sounding childish and weak as he took the footstep into the space between the realities, flanked by two cargo containers, as his men marched in file behind him, Astartes and Baseline alike.

He entered the gateway, and his sensor went crazy trying to measure the forces that surrounded him and the plane of existence he now trespassed within

"And I shall serve you as loyally as I did your own father!" He shouted "Let these savages know the might of Terra before all others! VALOROUS AND INDOMITBLE"

And with that, Dae-Hyun Departed from Terra's soil, his battlecry joined by thousands of voices as he vanished

This should be far enough for us to deceive the energy surge from the Portal Anchors activation, and avoid that the Vishnu detect it. We still need it to use them for attack their citadel after all.
We will connect with the Long Jia army with some transports, should be fast. Be train or air.
>>
Funnily enough several Long Jia transports have been build with Lieren body in mind, so space marines should be fine inside them.

The space marines and imperial army should be a nice addition. And a new element in the battle ahead that will surprise the Vishnu.

We introduce our wife to our sons. They faint.

Kek.

They're going to be so confused by Kazeon, not only because their father is married, but because on a glance she looks like a lewd artists depiction of a female space marine- which shouldn't exist in the first place. Then your father reveals to you she's actually an AI flesh puppet- but not really. Her real body is a fuck-off giant ship from the Dark Age of Technology and the amalgamation of hundreds of souls.
Also- you now have several aunts who are also ships. One of which is a crazy bitch that worships a blood god, a hedonistic fox who's getting pounded by Lieren in the right way (with a fucking boot and hammer)- but hey! At least Aunt Mari is nice.
To top it all off- your new step-mom is going to give a new body.

I'd be surprised if they didn't faint.

c) informs a 2nd son who then politely tells the War born that at least their primarch isnt a test tube virgin
d) causes a chain reaction that gets Lieren redacted

I have a proposal btw we stop calling our Missus and her sisters AI because they are not. Call them something else because they quite literally are not born from code. They were created by a mass of very real souls and stored in something mechanical which at the very basis of it is not AI. Just call her a Soul Core or something so people learn the difference form the off; a ghost in a machine the communicates with code vs something that was born from 0s and 1s
>>
>>5162539
Machine spirit.
>>
>>5162539
They're essentially lesser versions of the Emporer They are multiple souls sacrificed en masse and combined into one being, the thing is they were immediately harnessed into the core of a ship instead of being born into another body.
If they weren't harnessed there might be more like the Emporer.
>>
>>5162677
In addendum to my post, it should be mentioned that Kanzeon and her sisters were likely not made up of Psykers and likely not as much were sacrificed as the Emporers, so they are as I said before, Lesser Versions of the Emporer

Well at least the emperor will get some STC's.
I'm betting dad's care package is going to be massively outshone by what Lieren already has access to.
Hopefully we can work on the gateway some more so we can get another bridge to Terra after we take care of the Vishnu, would be funny if Lieren ends up the one primarch that goes to dad rather then the other way around. Horus is likely a year or two away from discovery on Luna so we can't get that distinction as amusing as it would be.
Does anyone remember when the treaty of mars happened after they conquered Luna?

From what I understand the anchors will not create something permanent, but q temporary portal. They require a lot of energy. Due to the fact of being made very recently, it's still a technological field all to explore.
Otherwise the exchange of resources and men would be a bit bigger than this small exchange and taskforce, and it would be costant.
The reason we made the anchors is for get inside the citadel of the Vishnu after all, and surprise them.

It will happen after some years, it s more of a stalemate for sometime because there was a possibility of conflict, due to similarities of military power and so on. Now things should change though.
Emperor was also interested in taking Venus and Mercury at the time, but Mars was the main problem for completing the conquest of the Inner sphere of the solar system. When that is done then all the other planets remain, it take less time but is still a bit slow and there is a lot of fighting against aliens especially.
After that the imperium prepared many new armies and fleets, and the Great Crusade starts.

>>5163582
Chaos doesn't find them nice and funny, and it real pisses them off alongside the Journey writings flying inside our flames or ice, or attached to the null charms.
So I don't mind. They don't get to touch kids or attempt to throw nightmares in any men and women they can.

With Shangrila being naturally weak for the natural barriers of the warp, is a necessity. The fact that demons have attempt to colonize the boundary between warp and world (see the nurgle demon, making a extension of the garden in battlefield of the treachery of turtles), is also a concern. Or that the boundary is infested by animalistic warp scavengers and predators for that matter. They need to be kept out.
Maybe we should make some pillars and restore the natural barriers of the world.

Calling the vote now

By small Chen's grave, in the shadow of the academy you built above it, having buried Bai in the fields of Nothing while waiting for your father to complete his side of the portal:16

In the capital city, televised and broadcast to the whole of Long-Jia to raise morale by propagandizing the event, while also exposing the "help" your father promised to your peoples culture: 4

In the furthest Imperial encampment in Vishnu lands in the company of Jinhai and the other generals of the imperial army as well as the whole of your own, elite regiment:3

Introduce them to Wenyan: 1

Meanwhile, admits a field of flowers, the kindly natured giant of Shangrala sat alone, enjoy the gentle fragrances of the blossoms that grew over the tomb of one of his dearest friends, having just return from his home village to bury another. Beneath the stalwart statue of the valiant Small Chen, Lieren and a small crowd of onlookers composed of common farmers and the older students of the Chendao Academy, alongside the venerable elders Guozhi, Kuan Im and the chief of nothing your own honored father Wenyan waited patiently for the figures of the "Kinsmen of the noble son of the heavens" to arrive and lend their blade to the effort to quash what the voices on the radios had said would be the "Final refuge of tyranny and moral corruption upon Shangrala", Unaware that in fact they were witnessing the harbingers of their entrance into a much wider world, far grimmer and darker than even the nightmare their prosperous nation now faced with spears and rifles in hand...
_

Your mind wandered and raced, as visions of how this first fateful meeting between father and son may transpire. A thousand theatric day dreams played, as the famed Playwright Pan An sat anxiously by your side, as you came across him in nothing as he had been hired by Bai's parents and wife to pen the tale of his life and tragic death. Fondly recalling your meeting with him after watching one of your plays, you decided to allow the storyteller to join you on this momentous occasion Guozhi and Kuan Im you met upon the road by chance, as they were escorting a unfortunate youth who was bedeviled and haunted by the whispered temptations of wicked spirits and nightmarish dreams of the realm of the Empyrean to the sanctity of the Wanderers in the Fog hidden temple retreat, nestled in the same mountains from whence Chen Dao Academy was built.

So to, has Small Chen's family gathered. Little Chen, his single Son is large for his age and squirms and struggles to free himself from his mother's arms to play amongst the flowers that have sprouted above his father's grave. Old Chen, holds a bottle of Dragon Spit liquor, his daughter and daughter in law, Nüying and Lanfen at his sides, the image of demure and subtle beauty, both of their hair worn wild in mimicry of Kanzeon's own preferred style. The former traveled many leagues to be present for this historic event.

Kanzeon, however is not present in the flesh or steel, for she remained at the warfront and for the first time left your company. You did not mourn her absence, as both of you were well aware how the men of terra or your father himself, if he deigned to lead the convoy personally, would react to her nature and presence. So, briefly, the two of your departed from the comforting warmth of the other's most pleasant company.

The wind frolicked gayly across the field of funerary flowers, as the distant chimes of the humble farming community beneath the memorial of the late and great small Chen sang through the morning

as the Gongs and synthesized bells of Chen Dao academy blared and disrupted the serene tranquility of the day. With Legs Crossed, you looked through the portal, sitting in front of it to keep any curious onlookers from wandering or venturing inside of it. The more courageous of the crowed dared look into the "Waters" of the Gold Dragon River, some sang verses of the Journey or its mantras, doubtlessly hearing the extra dimensional tunnel "Singing" to them as they waited for the arrival of the distant warriors of the stars. Soldiers of the Imperial army stood guard, defending the shipment of supplies you had gathered with Jinhai's permission as your finest accountants and taxmen double and triple counted the wealth of resources you were giving away by "Casting them into the heavens' sea" as one of them so bluntly put it. Your stubbornly nameless assistant leads the effort, eyes narrowed and sharp as taps away on his data slate, noting every gift down to its weight in ounces.

Pan An chews the back of his brush, jittery and nervous as his mind races to find a proper, eloquent manner of describing the gate way that cuts between the space between worlds. Guozhi glares into the astral chaos, as if he was facing the dark master of deception, Jian Qi, himself. Kuan Im's gaze is much softer and serene, as she marvels at the spiraling energies before her blind eyes and mutters to herself, quoting passages of old scripture and folktales as she watches the tunnel and counts the characters flowing through its luminesces as if they were carps in a pond. You spot a few of Qian Xia's spies, observing the affair. It is obvious they realize you've noticed their presence, but continue lurking amongst the crowd to bring the scarlet spider the intel she demanded with recording devices to capture and preserve every sensation of this stellar exchange of goods and resources.

Before anyone else, your super human senses detected the presence of the travelers from terra. Hearing first the thunderous footsteps of a warmachine similar but smaller to the walking statues you invented, then the rumbling growl of primitive engines of the sort you refused in place of adopting wholly electric powered machinery to preserve Shangrala's precious natural beauty. Lifting your brow, you leap to your feet in a single fluid motion

Old chen curses, nearly dropping his bottle of reserved spirits as you gaze into the depths of the Gold Dragon River and stare, waiting for the first sight of the men of terra, those who served alongside your sons and father in the great war to reclaim humanity's birthright from the hands of short sighted and dull witted tyrants. Crossing your arms, you lifted your head, stretching your neck to try and look further into the tunnel through reality.

The first figures to appear, nearly made your legs buckle and fall beneath you from shock alone.

Your father himself strode over the horizon, dressed in resplendent armor styled after the feathers and beaks of birds of prey. You could only wonder what his glamor would show to those who did not have the eyes to see past it. His dour, grim expression lit up with relief as a smile beaming with pride met your golden eyes. And besides him, walked a suit of armor, mechanized and large enough to fit several full grown men inside of it. Your eyes widened as, for reasons you cannot comprehend, you realized immediately that with that metal shell was the noble Dae-Hyun. And judging from the gait of the machine, he had been gravely injured. And had been merged and fused with the machinery of the suit of mechanized armor.

But, you took control of yourself and quieted your distress, keeping your composure as your creator led a small army towards the Grave of small Chen, escorting a convoy of transport vehicles and crates. When the rest of the crowd saw the imposing figure sof your father and son, they began to mutter and gossip to one another before, as he grew closer, they were possessed by what seemed to be almost instinctive feeling of reverence and unparalleled awe as they neared the mouth of the Gateway

Your father stopped in its boundary, while Dae-Hyun stepped past it, followed by other astartes dressed in similar armor to his own, but on a smaller scale and clearly not interred within it as he was. The transport containers were wheeled out on treaded bases, spewing black vapors and smoke, that greatly distressed and irritated the unsullied eyes and noses of the audience that had gathered around you.

You and your father, stand a few paces apart, as Dae-Hyun turns the head of his prison around, seemingly flabbergasted by the sight before him, as are the few space marines that had emerged from the portal beneath his colossal steps. Some of your sons who you do not know, are confused by the lack of reaction amongst the civilians observing their arrival. Truly, their armor is imposing, as is their size. But the people of Shangrala have grown accustomed to their fighting men dressing themselves in the regalia of the Aeldari, which is far more intimidating than the armor worn by your sons, and have long felt comfort in your shadow. To them, they appear only as soldiers, rather than terrifying giants of men and living incarnations of war.

Looking upon one of them, you smirk, somewhat amused by their collective befuddlement

Besides the sputtering, hissing of the engines used to power the transport vessels of the convoy, silence falls as more containers, astartes and soldiers dressed in primitive armor with weapons akin to the "Heaven Flame" pattern laser rifles emerge in organized files as if they were marching as part of a celebratory parade.

But, beneath the racket of your father's machines, you could hear Dae-Hyun breathing, labored by the machinery that connected him to the armored cage, which to your eyes appeared far to similar to the design of the Zoroastian devil cages in function

"I can see the familial resemblance" Wenyan jokes, and you find yourself regretting sending Kanzeon away for this meeting, her sarcastic wit would have greatly appreciated your father's joking, as he was motioning to Dae-Hyun, whose bonded armor was draped with the fur of some great, clearly predatory beast and was covered in script that would be alien to Wenyan's eyes. You recognized it as Gothic, and also recognized it was what amounted to graffiti of the kind to be found on the walls of cities.

How do you greet your father and sons, Lieren?

>Professionally yet cordially, perform the promised exchange of supplies, which apparently includes a portion of your father's own armies, wasting no time with frivolities

>Approach your father and earnestly thank him for his existence, and explain the reason you chose to meet him here and the significance of the statue atop the hill

>Ask what has happened to require Dae-Hyun to be interred in such a ...crude device. Part of its function is obviously devouted to life support, but what injuries would require such a treatment?

>Blithely and cheerfully, as if this is a mundane family gathering. Offer the Emperor a bottle of Dragon's spit and introduce him to Guozhi, who you will introduce as your mentor and Wenyan, your father. And tell Dae-Hyun how happy you are to see him again and meet his brothers

I think either Lieren would have told dad via psychic phone call already or there would be more then enough information in writing in the Shangrala convoy to insure he was well informed of the matter. Better to no dilute a vote with multiple options if possible.
How strong are our Shangrala laser rifles? I'm pretty sure everyone is running around in reverse engineered Eldar armor so just a las gun would be pretty anemic in comparison, hellgun strength?
Wondering if we end up giving a titan to dad, whether or not checks the stuff we are sending before he marches back may alter his perception of the current war. He cracks open a crate or two or looks over some vehicles sent by his son and recognizes its all high dark age stuff and he realizes Lieren is essentially fighting a war against a chaos man of iron operating at full capacity.

Can I get an idea of what the average pattern of power armor and heavy power armor is like? Do we have any refractory fields for our deployed power armored soldiers? Does Lieren utilize a refractory field for his armor?
Is Dae-Hyun stuck in his weaponized dull body crutch, or can we replace the damages portions of his body with vat grown flesh, or more sophisticated cybernetics?
What model of power armor are our sons using? Mk 1 or 2?
Can we detect any psykers among the people joining us? Any potential Eurubus's among our sons, the soldiers, or the Rememberances?

Hey guys, I just realized that Shangrala will probably be seen as an Eden by the people of Terra due to the huge fucking differences between the two.
Let's look at the conditions of Terra at the moment:
>Population: a fucking lot
>Water: almost none
>Food: hope you like Corpse-starch
>Air quality: only keep in aceptable condition by machinery that could die any day
>Plants and animals: All are dead
Now lets look at Shangrala
>Population: probably no more than 10 million people
>Water: we will never gonna have to worry thanks to the "water generating stones"
>Food: ACTUAL FOOD MADE FROM ANIMALS AND PLANTS
>Air quality: pollution is practically non-existent
>Plants and animals: a lot of biodiversity and FUCKING DRAGONS AND PHOENIXES
>>
>>5165923
>"If you're a good imperial solider then you too could be stationed on Shangrila!"
>>
>>5165923
First thing we're doing when we go to Terra is bringing Kanzeon with us so she can get started on unfucking the planet.
>>
>>5165942
We're already doing that by giving dad the water stones, an asteroid here a space ship ride to Jupiter's moons there and Terra will have atleast one ocean back within 5 years ,I hope it's the pacific since it's the best ocean, go fuck yourself Atlantic fags
>>
>>5165951
Refilling the oceans is a must, but the people living in those areas will have to be relocated first. Could give Big Daddy E an excuse to build some proper mega-cities for the masses to live in as opposed to the hyper slums and hive cities.
All that said, unfucking the oceans is just the start of things. The real battle will be unfucking the soil of most landmasses on Terra.
Granted, that'll happen naturally with the oceans restored, but we can certainly stand to speed up the process.
>>
>>5165968
I feel like at that point he will just say "fuck it, it's not worth all that effort. those resources would be better put into the crusade."
>>
>>5165970
The prospect of refurbishing the equipment keeping Terra functioning means that more resources can dedicated to the crusade. Might be worth the trouble.
>>
>>5165968
We could certainly try to implement some radiation scrubbing tech to clean a chink of radiation out of Terra.

Once we dig up all the living, comprised, and dead space sisters, what grand project should we do? I'm for building a shipyard that can build something close to a DaoT tier war/exploration ship, and a research station that can continue researching means to potentially make permanent warp tunnels. Better yet, colleges that are outright superior to the Mechanicum so we dont have to rely on them.
>>
>>5166045
We'll never be rid of the mechanicum we can only use our knowledge to get a good deal from them
>>
>>5166054
the fact people think they can just ignore an already galaxy wide empire is amazing.
>>
>>5165923
Pop could be a bit higher with the new living standards. Mostly in Long Jia though, Shuni and Bask are thriving too, but they will need some time as both have lost a lot of population. Both have been subjected to a violent and horrifying rule for centuries, and in one their last ruler sacrificed several of their cities for spite and power. Mari and Al-Uzza should help in that regard.
The people of Vishnu will need more time after this violent war, but with prosperity they will also grow a lot.

As for other tyrants around the world, who knows. Probably not much, although Hashut's people might have more if they were an industrial society.
>>

Theres no reason we cant try to diplomacy them out of their dogmatic ways, and remember the Emperor planned on getting rid of them eventually. Religion bad, remember?

>galaxy wide empire
More like small pockets here and there. We're the ones with navigators, not them, so each forge world is mostly isolated, and each Exploration Ship is flying blind until they find something to sit on.
>>
Giving our father one of our horses foals could be good at a later date. After we gift one to our brothers.
>>
>>5166096
+1, but at another date. Grabbing a foal will have time, and we have a finite amount of time before dad has to leave.
>>
>>5166091
Not really. Emperor is absolutely making a deal with Mechanicum if he's making a deal with the Navigators considering he likes them less than Mechanicum.
>>
>>5166091
You do realize the mechanicium actually has non warp FTL communication right now right? They didn't lose that shit until after the heresy.

They might not be able to navigate but holy shit can they dig in and make the crusade as painful as possible.
>>
Maybe theres something we can do to make the Mechanicum less terrible? Create more efficient cybernetics, less grim darkness, less excessive amounts of scrolls and wax on machines, change from promethium engines to electrical ones, less shitty architecture- shit we need to throw Perterabo and Dorn at the mechanicus. Heck maybe throw Manus into the mix.

Whatever happened yo Al Uzza? We did cleanse and repair Kuan Im but is the other shipfu still leaking raditation?
>>
>>5166162
Shes still full of monsters. We haven't had the spare time to clean her.
>>
>>5166155
Prolly depends on how Father and them see Kanzeon. Since she is made of human stuff it falls on a very grey area of AI, we could be pursued as super heretechs or at the very best tolerated, or we could be seen as the second coming of the Omnissiah since she is Archeotech and thus already invented by humanity at some point, which does align with their dogmas
>>
>>5166162
She s under there. We need to finish the war first.
>>
>>5166162
She is still leaking warp juice, we prioritized freeing Mari since she was already intact and could help the war effort more.
After the war, fixing her should be on the top of the list.
>>
>>5166233
So off the top of my head:
Al Uzza is damaged and infested, but living and uncorrupted.
Kuan Im's body has been cleaned, repaired (as best as we were able to do so) and made ready for habitation. Her soul is Huli Jing and is presumably plotting revenge.
Avalokiteśvara is damaged and Chaos-worshipping/devoted, but has yet to ascend to daemonhood. We did swear to free her from Khorne, as difficult as it may be, so that's something to keep in mind.
Anahita is still alive, but damaged and in Zoroastian territory. PROBABLY (hopefully) not corrupted yet.
Philotes and Albina are dead, their bodies presumably severely damaged and potentially warp-irradiated.

Getting Al Uzza, Avalokiteśvara (if she survives the war), and Kuan Im's body sorted before we push out into the remaining three nations would be good, the intimidation factor of so many massive ships shouldn't be understated. But perhaps out of left field, I feel that we should go with Carys and our Eldar followers to drop the soul stones of the dead off at Kher Ys. I want to know how far (or if) the corruption in canon has spread. Denying Slaanesh an entire craftworld is good for business.

Blithely and cheerfully, as if this is a mundane family gathering. Offer the Emperor a bottle of Dragon's spit and introduce him to Guozhi, who you will introduce as your mentor and Wenyan, your father. And tell Dae-Hyun how happy you are to see him again and meet his brothers:25

Explain to your father how the Water Generating Stones work, and warn him that they are dangerous and should never be weaponized. Also mention that you are sharing some copies of the Journey, and would like your sons to be the first ones to recieve it, so they may have the complete picture.:14

put your hand on Dae-Hyun shoulder casually and then extend a handshake to our father, wink at him and say "I would hug you if I could father but that would most likely ruin the image of otherworldly savior king you've cultivated with my people in your short time here":1

Approach your father and earnestly thank him for his existence, and explain the reason you chose to meet him here and the significance of the statue atop the hill:6

Hug Big E: 2

Ask what has happened to require Dae-Hyun to be interred in such a ...crude device. Part of its function is obviously devoted to life support, but what injuries would require such a treatment?:1

Total votes: 27

So Lieren will act as if the arrival of the terran travelers is a mundane family gathering

Offering his father a bottle of dragon's spit as he introduces him to Guozhi and Wenyan
Before telling Dae-Hyun how happy he is to see him again and meet his brothers

And before the Emperor and the members of the convory returning to Terra depart, will inform them of the Water stone's function and the dangers its use presents and that He'd like the 2nd legion to be the first to receive the copies of the Journey

My god, I guess it's not to surprising to assume that all the archeotech on this planet didnt come with schematics for force fields. I am very suprised, but also grateful to know we can probably start making those when we notice some of our terminator and dreadnought sons flashing as their shields protect them.

Its more that Lieren is a very efficent man, and when a suit armor will protect you from damn near anything on the planet, investing resources for more protection is unncessary

And when the Vishnu war started, he was more concerned with making sure the Imperial army would be equipped with the means to wage the war rather than survive a few moments longer considering the Vishnu like to use things that make Shields like that as effective as wet paper

A smirk curled from your lips, and you knew your eyes twinkled as you suppressed a chuckle at your fathers words. That smirk soon grew into a gregarious, cordial grin so large it showed your teeth. Clapping your hands together, you caused even a few of your genetically modified warrior sons to jump as the tensions that had arose in the brief period of silence since their arrival was broken by your thunderous, good natured laughter. Dae-Hyun synthesized laughter joined your own , moments after Wenyan's did, your father entirely unafraid of the lesser giants before him or your birth father whose expression turned momentarily into one of shock before he relaxed and beneath his austere façade allowed himself the smallest of smiles.

"Father! You did not tell me you were sending me my sons to aid me in my struggle against the tyranny and evil of the butcher king!" You cheerfully exclaim, bowing and cupping your hands as you approach the party, grin growing ever more radiant and broader as you do so "I would've prepared a more welcoming greeting if I knew I was receiving guest alongside these gifts! Forgive me for meeting you by the grave of my fallen friend, in this humble field of flowers rather than my own home. The shame of this ashamed faux paus will haunt me for years. Such a lack of filial piety is unforgiveable and I would gladly prostrate myself before you and beg forgiveness for this slight, if our meeting here today was not painfully temporary"

Righting your posture, you've placed a hand between your twin hearts as a few of your sons and the soldiers beneath exchange confused, unsure glances with one another.

"Here here" You say hurriedly, marching over to the procession of crates "Allow this humble farmer to right his mistake by gifting his great father, who has traveled an incomprehensible distance, a gift to salve the offense I have surely caused with this folly"

The bafflement of the gathered terran soldiers and menials heightens to the point it becomes palpable in the air, as you approach your nameless and staunchly loyal assistant, who takes a moment to peel his eyes off of your father. Nodding to eachother, he hands you a bottle of Dragon spit, one of the collection you were given when you first came across the village that produced them from the innards of the fish they caught and processed. Smiling, you wrap the bottle of yellowed glass in white silk, tightening it over the bottle with a slip of jade colored half mutton fat and half black.

The emperor of mankind's eyes dart around even as he maintains his quietly stoic expression as you approach him and fall to one knee before him.

"Alcohol?" Someone whispers as your father reaches to examine the bottle, taking it from your hand hesitantly, confusion clear on his face to your eyes at least

"This is a bottle of one of the most beloved varieties of spirit produced with the Celestial Long-Jian empire" You explain, more to assure the worries of your father's entourage than anything else "It is called Dragon's spit, and it is renowned and famed for its bitter taste and beloved for its potency. It is"

You grin wider, a jackalish glint shining in your eyes as another chuckle escapes your throat

"Brewed through distilling a liquor produced through fermenting the guts of fish" You say merrily. Immediately, one of the hardened veterans of the wars of barbarians suppression upon terra gags and covers their mouth, eyes water at the thought of the liquor

"...Fascinating" The emperor says as he bows his head "Thank you, my son, I will be certain to save it for only my most solemn affairs and triumphant of celebrations. The...viscosity of it will surely astound any of my servants who are fortunate enough to join me in my initial tasting of it"

"Foreign culture will surely be appreciated upon Tear'ah" Wenyan says "heavens know that spirit spread faster than a wildfire across humble Shangrala"

"Oh forgive me, forgive me esteemed father" You beg energetically as you rise to your feet, bowing repeatedly as you turn from one father to another "Father, this is my father Wenyan. The chief of the village of nothing and the man who took me into his home after my arrival upon shangrala, He is one of my idols and my greatest dream is to one day possess wisdom comparable to his own"

"Oh, I see" Your father says as if suddenly coming to a realization "So you're the man who helped Lieren open his heart"

"I supposed I am, great one" Wenyan answers "Though he didn't need much guidance to become the great, benevolent man you see before you, even if his humble nature forces him to act as if I am the man who taught him all the virtues of the world and helped guide his hand for every action he has taken in his life. I am but a humble farmer, your radiance"

"Though" Guozhi speaks up "this humble monk may have played a role in this boys philosophical awakening, though no were near as great of one as he would tell you"

Before your father from terra can ask who Guozhi is, you tell him

"This is Wise grandfather Guozhi, a philosopher who survived the purges of the corrupt regime I helped to dispose and overthrow" You explain "he is my mentor and guiding star in the sky! If it were not for him, perhaps these golden eyes of mine would not see as keenly as they do now"

"Perhaps that would've been a blessing" Your father says quietly

"Ignorance is a curse" You reply without hesitation "But, please, allow me to introduce you to My wise father and mentor, Wenyan of Nothing and Guozhi"

Both of the elderly men cup their fists, which, now that your father has handed off the bottle of dragon spit you gifted him to a hooded menial, he returns the just, as with a bounding step you approach Dae-Hyun.

His armored cage stiffens as he looks to you, and you can sense his trepidation in the air and upon your tongue

"Dae-Hyun, my son. Even the most storied poets of Shangrala could not describe the boundless joy I feel to be privledged to see you again, my noble and valorous son" You coo, hopping from foot to foot to contain and expend your carefree energy and now nearly out of control excitement "And that I would be so blessed to meet three hundred of your brothers"

"Son?" Wenyan gasps, eyes going wide before his attention is taken once more by the emperor's questioning and explanation, a conversation now joined by your assistant, who is dutifully listing off the contents of the tithe you'll pay to you father while simultaneously recording what he is gifting you

Leaping back to your father after you hear your trusted assistant list of water generating stones and copies of the Journey in his tally

"Ah the Water generating stone, a queer piece of ancient technology I have jealously and fearfully guarded. In the right hands, it could turn a lifeless wasteland verdant and replete with life" You explain, dramatically lashing your arm out and upwards towards the sky "But could very easily be made to serve as weapons more terrible than any other. Oh the threat they pose in the hands of those who would condemn their foes to such a fate are two fold! Without moisture in the air, they will draw it from the environment, their reach extending to living organisms! And if there is nothing to draw moisture from, they will create it through chemical fusion! And if the amount they are programmed to produce is great enough it can render entire regions empty of not only life but anything besides vast bodies and pools of water deeper than any lake!"

Your father's hand tightens around the stone he was inspecting.

"A means to return water to Terra's surface, to refill her oceans and repopulate her dry lake beds and polluted rivers" The emperor says sagely, nodding his head as he places the stone gently back into the hand of your assistant "after centuries of artificial drought, shall the cradel of humanity once more shine like a blue gem in the stars?"

He smiles, looking upon you as you bow

"I can only pray that it shall, my enlightened father" You say as you motion a hand to the book being offered to him "and this is the most recent edition of The Journey, my personal philosophy and world view put to text, updated as I experience more of life and its many quandaries and introspections. It is a guide and nothing more, of how one may live righteously and lead a good, virtuous life. It is by no means religious gospel or meant to be an authority of conduct, behavior or way life. It is but a container of my earthly knowledge and wisdom meant to teach others to see the world as though through my own eyes and understand it as I do"

Your father's expression falls
Cont
>>
>>5166552

"A failsafe you've created, in case of your death" He correctly guesses, his voice tinged with sadness as he places a palm over the copy offered to him directly "To guide and protect those who come after it, to pull the tyranny you have faced from its very roots post-humorously. A defense against...sinful rulers"

"That is why I made it, one cannot expect wise and virtuous men to emerge and come into prominence every generation" You answer blithely "And while all things must one day fade, their influence upon the minds and hearts of men is everlasting, for good or for ill. I chose to preemptively counter act the ill with the good"

"I wish we had time to discuss this book's contents at length, Lieren. I We shall when we meet again, when my fleets reach Shangrala itself" Your father says, taking a copy of the Journey and inspecting its cover carefully "but I must depart, now, lest I became trapped here, separated from my own home and armies"

You cup your fists and bow

"I understand, but, this humble son of yours has but one request" You say as you lift your head "The Journey is too be forced on no one, following it is one's own decision however...should the people of Noble Terra express and interest, I would like if my sons were the first to receive their copies so they may truly understand the snippets of wisdom I spoke to Dae-Hyun"

Your father laughs and claps a hand on your shoulder, winking as he steps from the tunnel for the first time since he's arrived

"You have my word they shall, though I must be selfish and take a copy for myself before any other" He jests, and you laugh alongside him, savoring and treasuring the carefree moment between father and son, as it may be the last you'll have with him. For, even with his aid, this may be the final war the Giant of nothing wages. Nitya Sinha is a treacherous foe, and his wife a dangerous beast.

But for now, you bask in the warmth of both of your fathers' love and laugh beside them, before you must leave both of them once more for the good of the realm, both Long-Jia and the entirety of the material universe. To preserve and ensure the prosperity of mankind, The Butcher King must and will die.

The Sigillite stood by his master, as the hanger that once held the finest war machines and warriors of the nascent Imperium of man was now filled with relics of the past and merging of Xenos and ancient human technology. The emperor palmed a strange stone in one hand, and held an large, leather bound book in the other, reading it as the technicians and engineers swarmed around the crates and vehicles that his second son, Lieren of Shangrala had gifted him freely.

"You know as well as I, we did not give the primarchs the knowledge to create such things from sticks, stones and mud" Malcador said simply as the emperor nodded once

"I am aware, my companion. The thought crossed my mind the moment I recognized the technology. Aeldari, mixed with the last remnants of Humanity's last golden age" The emperor explained, rubbing a thumb against the stone he held "The planet that has accepted Lieren as one of its own sons, becomes more of an Enigma the more I learn of him and the planet of Shangrala itself?"

"Lieren is a genius, he was designed to be" Malcador spoke "I am still amazed, despite the mental alterations and the augmentations of his neural pathways, he has not only a complete emotional spectrum but one so potent and passionate to fit in with that society of poets. But even with the heightened learning and problem solving capabilities those augmentations gifted to him, this is"

"Well beyond anything he could create in an eon of life, without outside assistance' The emperor state calmly, squinting as he read one of the earliest passages of the journey "I had my suspicions of such when I saw the armor he wore. I sensed a vast psionic presence"

"And you deemed it" Malcador began

"A matter to investigate later, you heard my boy's passionate and hateful explanation of his hatred for the forces of the great enemy as I did" The emperor said "And before you ask, it was not an Aeldari mind I felt alongside his own. It felt...human, and far too familiar"

"My friend, is familiar not potentially more dangerous than Unknown?" Malcador mused, crossing his arms as his eyes were drawn to the stone the emperor of mankind was fiddling with "It may not be chaos, or alien. But familiar and human"

"I trust Lieren, he is a noble soul" The emperor answered bluntly, clenching his fist around the stone "I understand your concerns, but were we not both convinced by our first meeting with him, that he, of all my lost progeny, can be trusted?"

"Yes, but he is also..." Malcador began before the emperor handed him a glass bottle "What is this?"

"A gift, a bottle of spirits from fair Shangrala" The emperor stated "Lieren tells me it is renowned for its sweet taste, gentle floral aroma and medicinal effects, would you want to sample it with me, old friend"

"Tch, fine I'll drop the subject, we clearly have nothing to fear. From Lieren at least" Malcador sighed, relaxing as he took the bottle by its neck "and of course I'll accept, the drinks of modern terra are far too harsh and potentially lethal for my palate, but before we abscond for drinks, would you mind telling me, why of all of the archeotech the se...Lieren has brought to us, almost like he thought it all as valuable as stones he's picked up in the river, that what has fascinated you the most are a stone and a book"

"This is no stone. It is a weapon" The emperor said holding it up, turning it around in his hands
Cont

"As well as a tool of peace. it is more valuable than anything else he has brought to terra, amongst all of the technology, this I am certain will...hurry along our plans and perhaps one day allow us to heal humanity's birthright"

"And the book?" Malcador asked

"A window into my son's heart, more priceless than even the stone" The emperor laughed heartily "Like Magnus, he is a wonderful conversation partner, but we've had so little time to talk. This...will tide me over until we next meet. In my eyes, this book is more valuable than even the stone in my other hand, the device that will change the face of Terra itself!"

What will you do, now that you have a small army of your sons and natives from Terra in front of you, Lieren?

>Introduce them, and their weaponry to Jinhai and allow them to explain their capabilities to the emperor of Long-Jia and their service to the emperor of terra

>Learn the names of every Astartes, man and woman whose been entrusted to you and detail them on the current state of affairs, before introducing them to your adopted Tiger Children...and Luli whose visiting.

>Test your son's mettle before returning to the war front, by sparring with them and having Feng and Jinhai do so as well. It will be a lesson in humility

>Take aside Dae-Hyun and the other veterans present and ask if they can keep a secret from your father, until you are certain how he will react. And then introduce them to their mother, if their response is positive

I hope they take to Abhumans well and can see them the same way we do.
Also I really wanna see our cripple brother beat one of our sons in melee combat. It's not a matter of if because I know Feng can.
Todays lesson on humility: even a baseline, crippled human can outmatched an augmented giant.

I wonder if Feng just likes to flash around the fact hes crippled, and can still kick you ass despite it. Like hes figure out his crippledness to the point he knows how to use it to hos advantage.

This anon is right, plus tech heresy, even if the emperor doesn't actually care, is a big deal and will be a big deal for the mechanicus as we can't cut them out of the equation yet. Plus we have absolutely no idea how he will react to kanezon and her sisters, she is clearly not an ai, but the unwashed masses of the mechanicum do not make distinctions when it comes to ai, I hope that this emperor does care for the primarchs, malal has said he is not going off of official lore, but that doesn't mean he wont check us if we cross a line he isn't willing to protect us on

Take Dae-Hyun alone to see Kanzeon and have him healed and garbed in our rainment. First of our sons... and our local Chapter Master of the Second Sons Legion.

We should totally call our chapters sects and in keeping with our flowery naming sense we should call them the Prosperous Sons of the Shangralalian Sky Sect.

I'm starting to think people forgot we need to conduct a deep strike on Nitya soon so we should be getting everyone ready to fight not on a lengthy and delicate surgery which would require Lieren's upmost focus.

>Prosperous Sons of the Shangralalian Sky Sect
As much as I love Shangralan naming conventions, I think the cultural reliance on purple prose and rampant poeticisms is gonna be something Lieren'll need to compromise on. The Ministorum will hate it and t's a mouthful to get out in-combat (either in a battle cry or trying to direct troops). By the time some hapless sergeant is halfway through "Benevolent-Winged Heralds of the Primarch's Mercy, charge!" he's been shot in the head and his position is being overrun. Compare that to the names in pic related, for example. "Void Devils." Short, sweet, descriptive.
>>
>>5167124
We probably need both I would say.

Theres the main legion body whom all our sons are part of.

And then there are these other identifiers:
1) Expedition/Force for brothers assigned to a crusade battle group
2) Chapter for brothers currently assigned to permanent garrisons on important planets or installations
3) Sects for personal association with whom the brother feels most drawn to.

The sects, if we maintain them as they are will have to be seperate from deployments instead of mono-sect groupings for assignments.

It's a shame but >>5167163 has the right of things. The legion and possibly chapter's names will have to be something succinct. I do like the name Fortunate Sons though but mostly because I'm thinking of the song and that this war is Shangrala's Vietnam.

This is by far the most important thing we need to do. We need to weed out that problem first so we can warm our sons up to having a motherly figure.

I think we can forego the introduction at court until later, but meeting Kanzeon will be important; she's been a cornerstone of our push against Nitya Sinha and her deranged sister.
>>
>>5167409
I think that we have to be very clear with our sons that Kanzeon isn't an AI, she's a human soul with a mechanical body- like how Dae-Hyun is now but to a greater extent. She is an ally of humanity and should be treated with respect.
Also- she's going to hopefully give Dae-Hyun a new body.

Also, this is clearly an unpopular opinion, but I think Dae-Hyun should stay in his box. He chose to be interned in it because he wanted to continue to serve dad and meet us again, taking him back out immediately after robs his choice of any gravitas.
>>
>>5167510
He made that choice because medical science on terra was at its limit.

Here we are not so constrained and we are never going to look at him differently for it.
>>
>>5167520
Neither of those points change the fact that doing so retroactively denies him what should be a major moment in his life and the catalyst for a good deal of character development. Dae-Hyun has already been shown to be a weary soldier wrestling with his own mortality and impermanence. He has lost friends, both mortal and astarte and he wants to join them, but can't until he does his duty. Becoming a dreadnought both brings him a step closer to that goal and prolongs his personal journey to his destination. Taking him out and restoring him to what he once was only does the latter, on top of what's stated above.

I think this is where we might want to add onto the Journey, this is a bit of a blind spot. It was written when Lieren didn't know he was the biologically immortal leader of a bunch of less potent, but no less biologically immortal warriors. Dreadnoughts fall into a grey area, I think, when it comes to the part of the Journey that says to welcome death, but not to seek it out. I imagine becoming one will be a very personal decision members of the 2nd make when they become eligible. Neither a position of honor, nor of disgrace, like the White Scars.

>>5167533
Bro, this is retarded and legit unintentionally malicious. If you have the medical technology to let someone out of a fucking walking coffin where they're stuck there until something finally kills them and have to spend a lot of time sleeping and you don't even bother to offer then you get everything you fucking deserve.

Offer him the damn choice to get fixed up. It does nothing to rob him of the gravitios of his choice. He made the choice he did cause terra doesn't have the same medical tech as we do.
>>
>>5167533
Have to agree with the other guy not allowing our son to use the medical equipment if he so chooses is horrible. Regardless of the decision he made on Terra which hade inferior medical equipment. If he wishes to remain in the dreadnought he is still allowed to do so, but not offering the aid is way out of Lierens character.
>>
Even if our son chooses to remain in his box we should at least make it a comfortable and sophisticated box for him.

We should definitely take him aside to meet Kaz-chan he's earned that much, and just think how badass he's gonna be with living metal Augmentations and a mastercrafted terminator power armor along with the best weapons we can put in his hands. Only the best for our son's.
>>
>>5167593
Talking about powered armour, we might actually have to redo all their armour.

Our 300 are mostly in Mk 1 Thunder armour. Thats upper body only, non-CBRN in nature.

Considering the level of technological warfare here, we're gonna need to come up with at least crusade pattern for our boys.

At least theres a STC for it so we just need to upsize the design and produce Master-crafted versions of em.
>>
>>5167630
Yyyyyyyeeeaaah redoing our Son's sets of power armor will be a fun ordeal. We'll need to account for their black carapace being able to efficent interface with their new power armor, add features to their armor that meshes will with the surgical augmentations they've received (funnel in helmet they can use to comically spit acid in their enemies faces mid combat without needing to remove their helmets), armor joints locking in place so they can get away with sleeping while standing up, inbuilt toilet recycler, the works.
>>
>>5167630
>At least theres a STC for it so we just need to upsize the design and produce Master-crafted versions of em.
Not just STC's that are GaoT environmental hazard, or Great Crusade tier power armor. We have that, Kanzeon's wonderful help, AND our understanding of Drukari technology. Our bois will be getting the good stuff.

Oh man, I really, really want to introduce our sons to the Vishu. Those lads are fucking wild. They're big and strong enough to do super human feats (lower than space marines, but impressive nonetheless). Not just the Vishnu, the tiger people were just as biggervif not more so than the average Vishnu. Granted our nieces and nephews aren't fully mature yet, they should still be fairly large for children their age. Its gonna be pretty funny.

And don't get me started on our few Primarch tier horses. Give us a few years and we'll have specialized augmented horses fit for space marines to ride.

I'd be indebted to you both if either of you could point out where I said "Lieren should withhold aid from Dae-Hyun, even if he asks for it." Because as far as I can tell, I said no such thing and you're both putting words in my mouth. For whatever reason. I agree with the idea that, if it's possible to restore him, we should offer him help. I said in the second part of my most recent post that the internment in a dreadnought should be a very personal choice. How do you think a marine would make that choice if we don't offer it? What I am saying is that from a purely narrative perspective, as opposed to an in-character one, taking Dae-Hyun out of the coffin ignores key aspects of his character and does no favors with regards to the story Malal has created for him thus far.
>>
>>5167510

considering you wrote this shit in response to people wanting to get him out of that damn coffin cause holy shit dreadnaughts are suffering it came across as being against giving him the choice to get himself fixed.

Also bro you're still retarded. Him getting out of that shit simply due to the fact we have better medical tech does nothing to rob the choice he made of gravitus.>>5167647
>What I am saying is that from a purely narrative perspective, as opposed to an in-character one, taking Dae-Hyun out of the coffin ignores key aspects of his character and does no favors with regards to the story Malal has created for him thus far.
Also this is stupid. Narratively he made that choice cause it was the best choice he had to stay alive long enough to see lieren again. He wouldn't have chosen to become a dreadnaught if there had been better options.
>>
>>5167647
Our son is depressed, and we got the cure. Some new spanking new augmentations, some fresh flesh to surgically implant, and a new dreadnought we can willingly enter or leave so he can still wear all the graffiti of his previous coffin.

He is the indomitable Ursa of Terra, and we shall see to it that our son lives long enough to shoot the shit with his Warhound best friend.
>>
>>5167691
The reason Dae-Hyun is depressed is because his legion is full of dumbasses not that he's in a dreadnaught.

If you didn't know, "decision" means "choice." That post only comes across as anti-help if you're illiterate. I recommend fully reading the posts you respond to, it will make you look like less of a joke.
>Him getting out of that shit simply due to the fact we have better medical tech does nothing to rob the choice he made of gravitus.
If someone makes a hard, intensely personal decision, and it immediately is made moot because the unforeseen occurs and reverses it, at no cost to the person who made the choice, that cheapens the choice itself. This isn't subjective.
>Narratively he made that choice cause it was the best choice he had to stay alive long enough to see lieren again.
No, he made that choice in-character. Dae-Hyun is not aware he is a character in interactive fanfiction, Malal and the voters are the only ones who make choices from a narrative perspective.
>He wouldn't have chosen to become a dreadnaught if there had been better options.
Dreadnoughts wouldn't be made at all if there were a better choice, or any other choice. Dae-Hyun wanted to fight at our side and he made the choices he had to to do that. If the Imperium uploaded the consciousness of wounded marines to battle automata, he would've done that. The means by which he continues to choose to fight is entirely irrelevant, the choice to continue to fight itself is what matters.
>>5167691
>Our son is depressed, and we got the cure.
The reason he's depressed is because he's watched scores of his friends die before his eyes and his legion is falling to factionalism. We can't bring back the dead and we haven't been reunited with our full legion, so we do not, in fact, have the cure.
>>
>>5167889
We uhh. . Can bring back the dead. Granted it requires a lot of prep work prior to death but we have the means of rebirth and ways of putting souls in bodies.
This is semantics since e can't ressurect the people who died on Terra but I felt it neccercery to correct you.

As for the factionalism, We didn't send any emissaries so we can't fix the legion but the book should hopefully reduce the factionalism by a degree if they read it all without bias.
>>
>>5167889
>If someone makes a hard, intensely personal decision, and it immediately is made moot because the unforeseen occurs and reverses it, at no cost to the person who made the choice, that cheapens the choice itself. This isn't subjective.
No this is literally retardation. If you tell me IRL you got stuck in some shit like a iron lung or what not and then they make technology to make that redundent and that you wouldn't fucking take it then you are either a liar or a fucking retard.

People make the choices they do on what they have on the time. Going "Muh" story narrative just paints you as an idiot and would make Dae-Hyun an idiot. I would actually vote to lecture the fuck out of him if he tried to use the form of argument you're using.

Like for real dude, the best stories and quests are the ones that have characters act like people and not like narrative driven characters that have to do dumb shit like what your suggesting.

Any major selling author or really god writer will tell you that.

Now if this was something to do with morals or a code of honor or a matter principles your argument would hold ground. It is not and thus does not.
>>
>>5166558
Doe we need to make it a vote to offer augmentation improvements to people like Dae-Hyun, or will we do that automatically? I'm voting for offering.
>>
We have no idea how long it has been since we gave our father the schematics, from Lieren pov or Terran pov due to warp fuckery. Even if Dae-Hyun didn't get interred by choice, but out of necessity after a his body was finally ready to give up; regardless it was a step in his Journey(tm) to complete his quest to meet us. We should present him with thr option of restoring him, but even kanzeon being herself how can we be sure she will be able to make compatible parts to our very genetically modified, very irradiated son? In the most likely scenario, we can at least ease the burden by pimping out his coffin.
>>
>>5168023
Pretty sure Kanzeon could easily do it. Like, she has golden age of technology medical equipment and that shit legit beats what the emperor had to work with on terra.

Hell it beats out what even mars has currently. and if need be we could literally just pop his ass into an entire new body if he so desires and re augment it.
>>
>>5168023
Also I forgot to mention but Kanzeon has access to our pod which has a record of everything that went into making us and having us grow and gestate in it. Which the emperor had to kit bash together with what he had available on terra.

We can even use that shit to grow her a primarch tier body down the line too.

Fixing up Dae-hyun will be easy compared to that especially since she also has a lot of warp science information on souls too cause lotus tech and what went into making her.
>>
>>5168023
>how can we be sure she will be able to make compatible parts to our very genetically modified, very irradiated son?
I thought about this and I think I have a solution. We have 299 regular space marines, right? That’s a large enough pool from which to piece together what a totally healthy space marine should look like. They’ll all be injured, certainly, but in different enough ways that I’m willing to bet that there’s at least one of every grafted organ completely intact amongst them.
>>
>>5168032
Space marines are also basically lesser primarchs too since they share nearly all the same organs. And Kanzeon does have access to and has been studying our pod which contains all our genetic and biological information.
>>
>>5168026
Anything excluding his Custodes. Those guys really do have the best of the best.

>>5168032

I can't see that working for the implanted organs but she has our own genetic data for that.

>>5168043
>Anything excluding his Custodes. Those guys really do have the best of the best.
They're also all one off unique augmentations. Each one is a master piece.
>>
>>5168043
>Dude just get a genetic sample fro our coffin son, grow it, then use those parts to replace his fucked up pieces.
Would work for some parts, but not others. The grafted muscles and organs come to mind.
That said, we do have access to the original template those grafted organs were based on: ourselves.
>>
>>5168050
>That said, we do have access to the original template those grafted organs were based on: ourselves.
Also have the gestation pod we were grown in that contains a record of our biological data, what alterations were made to us specifically and what not.
>>
Isn't Kanzeon's flesh puppet made based on Lieren's DNA? If she can make a female body out of primarch flesh, fixing a space marine should be easy.
>>
>>5168057
our goal is to eventually make one. Her current body isn't exactly primarch tier but yeah I think it's based on his dna.

of course once we get the primarch body we plan to transfer her soul into it.

I wonder we could allow her to hop back and forth between the two.

They are quite strong, since they can kill the equally well armored and cybernetically enhanced vishnu troops. The weapons are a mix of energy weapons and combined eldar-human ones, not just the las rifle.
The armors themselves combine some of the things from the armory of Kanzeon and eldar armors.
Just one would fit as the majority of the shipment that goes to Terra, even if I am not sure, the steel giants are quite big. Too bad I know. In regard to that by simply looking at the Portal Anchors made, he should get it that this is high tech. But he has already understood that, by simply talking with Lieren of this new development.

>>5164977
Sometime ago I made the image for the infantry one, alongside just a few other types if you mean that.
They are in previous threads, with some description. The texts are basic, nothing incredible, but it gives an idea.

But we don't have the same nomination that the imperium has, if you instead mean that. Like corvus, maximus ecc ... and so on. I honestly didn't think of giving them names, beyond "this is the armor that this x soldiers group use". I have tried to stay as close to what Malal writes, with some liberties of course. The quest is more macro sometimes, so name of x weapons/equipment can be considered minutia most of the time.

Lieren is very much capable of sensing or seeing psykers, warp energy, spirits and chaos corruption. Add on top of this his golden eyes, and he sees what you actually are to the very core of your being. So yeah all the taskforce was essentially scanned by him upon arrival.

>>5167630

The map of the Vishnu Realm. One of the regions of Shangrila with an overabundance of life and organisms. If the Bone Devouring Forest in Long Jia, was considered full of animals, dangers and death in the past, then the deep jungles of the Vishnu some might say surpass it or stand on even grounds for others. Giant serpents, strange multi horned beasts, fearsome white tigers and the southern fog panthers are just some of the beasts that dwell under the great trees and plants present here.
In the north the great swamp where the Xue live, continues south entering in the jungles, but it also stopped by a mountain chain, where the famous Serpent Pass is made. These particular mountains have always been fought over the Vishnu of the south and the Yan of the north, as they grant safe passage toward one of the grasslands of the region. That is one of the few parts without a large presence of flora, and far safer for human civilization, near these grasslands there are usually even great lakes that originate from the nearby mountain chains.
The Vishnu themselves are quite different from one another, it was only recently that they were united completely under Nitya Sinha, previously they were divided among kingdoms, tribes and city states. The union of societies that while similar had different lifestyles (tribesmen from a semi nomadic tribe fighting now alongside raised professional troops of a city, or levies rallied by a king) was quite a cultural shock. Even so the bloodthirsty warlord managed to do the impossible, using the deep rooted martial traditions of the Vishnu people, as one of the main factors for uniting the land. Beyond his martial prowess and great cruelty.
>>
The map of the Bask Republic. An alpine region, with many of its parts frozen it's not unusual to see glaciers. And snow is quite common. Even so there is still life here, some forests and even grasslands are present, in more frigid areas plants become far smaller but life can still be found.
The Bask still are an indomitable people, their culture and folklore a lively one even despite being subject to their tyrants, and the harsh cold and lives of their homeland. The region terrain is fairly mountainous, making agriculture difficult but not impossible, while pastures are far more common and used. An industry that is being revitalized recently is the mining one, the presence of precious ores and other rare resources has attracted numerous prospect teams in previously unused parts of the region. The diffusion of the Journey has reached all levels of the Republic, and it has become now part of it and the lives of many of his communities, families and citizens. On the grounds of the previous temples of the decadent priests of the high king, new buildings now stand to teach and talk about the Journey.

Another interesting development is the formation of a new order of knights created by some heroes of their own rebellion. Such news brings great fortune, and we can hope that these paladins and knights will aid us in freeing all of Shangrila from tyranny.

Being a pilot of the growing Aviation, is a great honor. It takes great courage to become one as well. But being rewarded to be one of the mens that fly machines such as the steel birds, is one of the greatest payments. Sons of farmers, artisans, fishermen, hunters that now hunt down and fight in the skies, flocks of horrible creatures out of nightmares tales and their bloodthirsty rivals of the south.
These men though are given the proper instruments for these battles, one of these is the armors they wear. Different from the ones used by their companions and brothers in the armies, as it was made to be a bridge between man and the machine around it. Controls become more fluid, movements more coordinated. Overall it greatly improves the combat capacity of the pilots. And of course it gives them excellent protection.
>>
Now the Sky masters. The best pilots one might see in Shangrila, aces all of them. Some of them are even becoming officers in Aviation, thanks to their experience and skill. One of the rewards for becoming pilots of such levels, beyond having access to more powerful equipment and personalized vehicles, is the possibility to be granted one a far more refined and potent pilot armor. Having one of them shows your rank among fellow pilots and the importance that has been given to a man.
Rising to such heights is the dream of many, but one must prove that he is worthy to be called an ace first.

They shield us and bleed for us. When I look at the great ship, I always want to cry. It has destroyed countless Vishnu foes. A Skipping Cloud, is one of the newest vehicles in the growing armies of Long Jia, and the main vehicle of the newly formed combat formation of the Lai Sky Riders. Much like other Shangrilan technology is formed by the harmonic fusion of eldar and human knowledge. In this case it has formed a fast and agile vehicle that delivers an untold amount of punishment against its foes before getting away.
The machine is used by a few sky riders that fly it and man it’s weapons, and a squad ready to descend from the sky for a rapid attack on the enemy lines. Suffice to say this is as elevated even more the Lai warfare doctrine, more than the access to fast moving land vehicles. The vehicle moves thanks to 5 “sails”, a powerful engine in the back and the antigravity machine under it. The weaponry on it is more than enough to tear apart infantry or destroy small Vishnu vehicles and war machines, and if that wasn’t enough is more than capable to ram through a more armored foe. Shangrila shall not be denied his rightful prosperity and liberty by any tyrants, with such a war machine in the service of his sons and daughters !
>>
The armors used by the newly recruited and trained Lai Skyriders, is a truly formidable one. The first feature that is seen is no doubt, the powerful jetpack in the back, a feature that allows the Skyriders their descends on the foes and famous assaults from the Skipping Clouds. Developed from the armor already in use by the Lai Riders, it was a great success upon the battlefields, though the equipment on his back does require more energy but the performances surpass the new costs to make it function.
This addition to the armies of Long Jia, will be put to use further in future campaigns no doubt. Who knows what greater battles it will see ? What new tactics will be tested and successfully achieved thanks to this equipment ?

Still what other foes beyond Vishnu could even fight against it ?

////A —---- or “Dragonfly '' Drone, is an antigravity fast moving small DAOT construct seemingly developed to be one of the base tools for the ancient and unknown colonization mission launched to Shangrila.
Thank the Progenitors, Praise the Journey, Honor Lieren.////
- - - - - - - - - - - - -
Ah the Dragonflies ! True machines and companions, loyal without questions. Whatever the ancients did to make them, is not for us to know, we must thank the Progenitors as they gifted these machines to the Gentle Giant, hero of all Shangrila.
The Dragonfly work in flocks, and it’s not unusual to see them entering inside wounded or broken machines, like the tools of a white lotus medic in the body of a man, thanks to their sizes. Working in these large groups allows them to communicate faster and correct themselves rapidly, because of their several eyes and sensors. To accomplish their tasks, they have access to a venerable variety of work tools that allow them to repair and build anything our mind could think of, or even clean a floor if one wants them to do so.
If those work tools were taken off them, they can be equipped with ranged weaponry, making them especially dangerous to lightly equipped Vishnu troops. In case of melee, they wouldn’t need more weapons than their own bodies, as the machine imitates a certain type of snake's family, twisting around the enemy's body and crushing him until his bones break or until it can't breathe if the desire is to simply knock down the target.
For other uses they are optimal for prospecting as they will methodically scan an area, until they have moved across every micron of it. The great lady Kanzeon alongside our savior Lieren, did some time ago improve the drones. Their “wings” now present elements taken from the star people, improving their agility and speed.
The Dragonflies seem to act with animal behavior of sorts, doing odd holes in the ground, capturing animals or chasing each other across trees.
Still they remain innocent to us and often avoid positioning themselves in our pathways or duties, unless we might be harmed or one is a Shang Engineer that often works close with them. One might find them recharging attached to a ceiling of a warehouse for example, or chirping and buzzing machine language on top of vehicles or looking at us from the Vessel of Heaven.
May they never break, as these machines have aided us in any aspect of our empire, the honor of receiving their help or fighting alongside them shall be forever remembered by any true men and his sons in Shangrila.

The War Steel Giant, Terracotta Machine Guardian and many other names is a newly developed vehicle for the armies of Long Jia. It’s capable of great martial feats, and it has proven to work well in coordination with the rest of the army. One of the more unusual patterns, based on the heroes and champions of the Journey rebellion, is the Jinhai one.
This rare Giant in particular is armed with a particular spear beaming with light as well as a fearsome cannon that spit arcs of thunder from it ! If that wasn’t enough smaller weapons seem to grow from it in case Vishnu soldiers attempt to reach it or if enemies arrive from the air, like the disturbing hell drakes and infernal wyrms, or the simply disgusting half-men machine Vishnu gargoyles ! Truly this Giant deserves the name of our noble and courageous emperor, as the machine almost seems to mimic our ruler on how it was designed and in the movement !
The machine like the others of his kind is truly beautiful to see, and it’s yet another gift from our saviors, thought and crafted perhaps in their great boat in the sky. Truly this machine will only fit the captains and champions of the newest regiments of our army.

//
(I have tried to make the giant a mix of things, one the description Malal has written down. Two in part the imperial knights, and three the eldar wraith knights. I think the mix works.)
//

And that is all. If there is anything to ask, feel free. Or suggestions for other things to do.
Here is the current list of possible things that will be done. :

- SM possible new armor pattern
- Bai war banner, for someone. Maybe an honorary war banner for the Brothers of the Panthers. Would fit
- Portal Anchors
- Personal Armors of Heroes ? Like Feng for example
- Another Vishnu unit (maybe)
- All the other avatars of the sister AI-ships (Anahita, Philotes and Albina)
- The Creti Wardens, The Seowl Rangers, and The Suomit Ursine Guard
- More simple images/memes, stuff like the view from the road or Guozhi drinking Tea with Wenyan
- Settlements/City maps ? (maybe)
- Attempts for evil spirits/magical beasts (maybe)
- More animals, vehicles, weapons, armors and so on (maybe)
- Maybe do the artwork of the Bask of Lieren (maybe)
- Shuni noble houses (recent ones need to check threads )
- Bask houses ?

i hope it was a good valentine for everyone.

Honestly? Kanzeon, for the reason that so far I just uses ramdom images of spaceships to represent her every time I made a meme, but now we have a more concrete form. A fan one, but your works have either been very close to what Malal wrote, or he incorporated it later.
>>
>>5168465
I particularly love Kanzeon, not for the art, although it's remarkable to see the strange style and design you've crafted- but because of the sincere emotion describing Kanzeon.
I can't convey geunine emotion without sounds insincere, but something I love about this quest is how Lieren's kindness and bravery is true and wholesome. This man wants for nothing except the betterment of his fellow man and everyone who has met him cannot deny that. Even the rough and crude men of New Varro who's respect is something that doesn't come easily are amazed by how a man as good as Lieren can exist.
It makes me tear up.
>>
>>5168532
>tfw you're one of the few genuinely benevolent people in the entire universe

>>
>>5168491
Thank you.
Yes i also feel that it was needed. Dont get me wrong the memes are nice, but I wanted to see an idea of her taking form.
That they did, Malal is a nice qm. He didn't need to accept any, but he found ways and uses for each of them.

>>5168532
Thanks.
The ship of Kanzeon inside was desribed as a sort of alive mechanical nature. The theme of flowers/plants is repeated. It also looks nice.
For the text i was inspired by the soldier story from the Serpent Pass. This is essentially another man seeing the event and talking about it at home or with friends. The two lines instead are of course an order of Kanzeon to the ship.

Lieren is a special thing. No matter how many times Wenyan says he didn't give Lieren any great knowledge or power, i can't help but smile in seeing he has gifted Golden Eyes with far more than that. A home, family, his first friends, good morals and examples.
Also jokes.
>>
>>5168584
Not if we do this bit properly. The endgame of this war is to show that lieren can do what needs to be done when the chips are down. If there is a better way he will take it but he will still be able to take the harsh actions that are necessary.
>>
>>5168616
Lieren's always been capable of that. See what happened to the parents of our nieces and nephews who were caged slaves and weren't part of the main force attacking the vishnu tribes.

Calling the vote now.

Introduce them, and their weaponry to Jinhai and allow them to explain their capabilities to the emperor of Long-Jia and their service to the emperor of terra:14

Learn the names of every Astartes, man and woman whose been entrusted to you and detail them on the current state of affairs, before introducing them to your adopted Tiger Children...and Luli whose visiting.:24

Test your son's mettle before returning to the war front, by sparring with them and having Feng and Jinhai do so as well. It will be a lesson in humility:9

Take aside Dae-Hyun and the other veterans present and ask if they can keep a secret from your father, until you are certain how he will react. And then introduce them to their mother, if their response is positive:14

Ask Jinhai to order his most august and veteran bodyguards to find the largest weapon your father gifted to you. And have them keep Dandan away from it at any cost.: 1

Inform your genesons of the culture of Long Jia and its wonderous technology: 2

Take Dae-Hyun alone to see Kanzeon and have him healed and garbed in our raiment: 1

Comment on Dae-Hyun suit of armor: 1

Set Dae-Hyun with a fixed body if he wishes it.: 1

Ask to inspect Dae-Hyun's living tomb and assess what remains of his original body. Perhaps there may still be a chance for him to be restored in the future.: 1

Total votes: 27

So Lieren will take the time to learn the names of every Astarte and mundane soldier, before debriefing them of the current state of affairs and introducing them to his adoptive children and Luli before introducing them to Jinhai and allowing them to explain for themselves the capabilities of their weaponry and their service to your father

But before he does that, he'll take Dae-Hyun and the other veterans of the force of three hundred and one space marines and ask if they can keep a secret...

You don't choose to get polio, retard.

Good thing he wouldn't since again, he is unaware he's a character in fanfiction on a Tocharian backgammon forum. If you mean that you'd choose to debate him saying "Yeah, I made my choice, I'm fine as a dreadnought," that would go against the philosophy that's been central to Lieren's worldview for more than an IRL year. We let people walk their own paths, we do not try to sway them onto one we want. We only give them the option.

A neat little detail about 40k ships and why their guns are generally fixed is because during the AoT the defenses of ship grew to be so ridiculous that contemporary weapons system were being out paced so they scaled them up to massive sizes and began conducting war at closer ranges making fixed mounts viable. At least I think that's one of the old lore reasons.

Once again the problem has less to do with being a dreadnaught and more to do with his damn legion. If his legion wasn't splintering he'd be content as a dreadnaught.

How much is that his already present frustration? He realizes what his brothers really need is guidance and unity (his leadership) not another piece of hardware so he sees his situation as shitty. The problem always goes back to his legion with the lesser problem of the dreadnaught is it limits his place on the battlefield.

The gateway of the Golden Dragon's river vanishes into the ether, stranding and leaving your three hundred and one gene modified warrior sons and the four thousand soldiers accompanying them, along with several complete units of the machines of war utilized in your father's war to reconquer the fair homeworld of humanity. The crowd of onlookers has stepped back, to give the off world battalion room to breath and to allow themselves to breath as the fumes rising from the vehicles and the scents of artificial oils and synthetic rubbers rising from the host is so offensive to their senses as to be nearly intolerable. Many cover their mouths and noses with the sleeves of their shirts or robes, though the more well to do fan themselves with decorative fans, some traditional and others fully mechanical.

Oddly the gathered warriors of terra do not take offense by this gesture of disgust, when if it was performed in the court of a noble of Long-Jia, the societal consequence would be dire. You however, who have become inured to far fouler miasmas and polluted airs, mingle with the host of your children and their accompanying regiments. Wenyan, Guozhi, Kuan Im and Old Chen depart from Small Chen's monument, as the clouds of smoke and burning gases are too much for their aged constitutions to endure for long, so instead they depart for the farming village below, your father promising to treat all of your sons with the utmost hospitality and familial adoration when he isn't teasing you by asking how even a giant could manage to father so many funs and jokingly implying disloyalty towards Kanzeon. Smirking, you watch him leave, and then resume your efforts to greet and know every individual entrusted into your care by your once more distant father.

It takes some prodding to get your sons to speak their names and introduce themselves to you, as they are almost religiously awed by your mere presence and being directly spoken to short wires their brains with a shocked and boundless joy. But, they eventually find their tongues, and thought their introductions are halting and at times stuttered, they all are able to overcome the euphoria effecting them to tell you their names and rank in the Terran Imperial Army. Some even sound like they are on the verge of tears as they greet you with wavering and quiet voices.

The lesser soldiers of the army are shocked when you begin approaching them to ask you their name and rank. It would seem they were as close as brothers and sisters to your sons as your brothers of the panther are to you. Their accents are strange, but you are able to understand their gothic as you move your way down their ranks just swiftly while taking the time to make each exchange personal, asking questions and inquiry about the lives and service of every Astarte and Imperial soldier. Their relationships, their fears, their glories and their dreams.

Though your interactions with each individual are brief, they are intimate enough that by time you lead the gathered men and women for Chen-dao academy, following a whim to introduce them to your other, adoptive children, you feel as though you know them all as deeply as they do themselves, and by the blessed stare of your golden eyes, you may indeed know a few better than even that.

The soldiers remains silent, watching you stride across the fields with awe while all of your son's minus Dae-Hyun seem to have fallen into a blissful, half aware stupor as you praised and congratulated all of them for the battles they have fought and the victories they have won. The chimes and gong's of the school ring melodically as you approach the Null denouncement script emblazoned gates of the magnificent first of the many academies you have built.

Lieutenant Chul-Moo of the 2nd legion of the emperor's space marine felt enraptured. Their father walked beside them, right before his eyes and he had spoken to him personally! Praised him for his valor during the salt sea campaigns where, during a mission that had gone completely Fubar, a half bestial mutated bastard ripped his arm from his socket when they were clearing out the dens of the misbegotten strain of locales that fled when the territory had first been subdued and brought into the fold years prior. It was incredible how much of a Charlie Foxtrot a few literal rat face bastards can make in their own warrens, Chul-moo counted himself fortunate to have survived the campaign beneath terra's soil. Though he had to get a new pair of mechanical lungs, after he spent weeks breathing in the toxic fumes of the tunnels.

Chul-moo blinked and was shocked to see his genesire still striding before his eyes! It all felt so surreal, like a dream. That he had left terra, and now was in the company and under the command of his primarch. He could take his eyes off of him, he was glorious, resplendent, magnificent. In every mannerism and expression he made, he saw dozens of his fallen brothers and what they were supposed to be. What they could become under his guidance. He was in the presence of his progenitor, among the first of the legions to be so blessed, and he was proud of them! He praised them and took pride in their accomplishments! He had accepted them as his sons! And what's more he had done so excitedly.

Chul-moo felt half drunk, the world merely a backdrop for his father's glorious frame as he lead him up the path towards the fortress in the mountains. Some programmed part of the Astarte's mind angrily questioned where he was being lead and why they were not on the frontlines against the savages who dared to attack his father's people, but it was stifled by the awed and overjoyed thoughts declaring it did not matter, for he was being lead there by his Primarch.

Baseline humans, dressed in the same garb as his genesire, flocked around him the moment as the gates opened.

The language they spoke, was just familiar enough to sound even more alien than something completely foreign. Dae-Hyun knelt down to step under the gates of the mountaintop fortress, just beside Lieren. Oh how the jealousy burned! But it was not unexpected that Dae-Hyun would be favored by their primarch, they had met before and Dae-Hyun was the greatest of them all

The mad bastard dropped several nuclear strikes on himself to defend his position and once used one of his legs as a blugeons to beat the skull out of a jackass with delusions of usurping the emperor with a force that the gathered Astartes could squash in an evening! The audacity of it all still astounded...

The pleasant reverie that had controlled and dominated Chul-moo and his fellow Astarte's mind was lifted and shattered as a new flock herded around their primarch. One clearly inhuman. Almost instinctively, Chul- Moo stepped forward to defend his primarch from the diminutive mutants, as did several others. He saw one of his direct subordinates reach for a bolt pistol that wasn't there.

But before they could leap into action, Lieren knelt down, lowering himself to the level of the feline aberrations. And what followed stunned Chul-Moo more than seeing their father bounce and leap around with all the energy of young boy, more than even meeting him upon a verdant, flowering field than some desolate shithole of a wasted battlefield.

Lieren greeted the mutants kindly, familiarly. And lifted two of them up into his arms. Chul-moo was conflicted, Xenophobia fighting against his undying admiration for his primarch as Lieren treated the mutants with the same warmth and love as he did them. Chul-moo controlled himself, and Lieren's presence surely held back his fellow astartes from doing what they were made to do.

But, when Lieren walked past them, with two of the mutated children on his arms, one of which had four arms and spoke to them in a quiet, respectful but painfully scolding tone, the gathered space marine's calmed. Even their brothers in arms relaxed, moving twitching fingers away from the triggers of their laz guns.

And in their mind's Lieren's words burned themselves. The first true lesson given from father to son. Chul-Moo found his lips moving to mimic his primarch's as he spoke, eyes fixed on him, barely even aware of the two children he held in his arms. For they were children, despite being almost as large as the scholars who greeted his father.

Chul-Moo's spine tingled, as his father's words branded themselves in the deepest part of his psyche.

"Humanity comes in many forms, and it walks many paths. But, know that the face of man, is not determined by outer appearance, but rather the quality of their character and spirit"
Cont
>>
Chul-Moo was shaken from his reverie once again, when one of the weird cat looking children touched him. To his surprise he did not recoil or move to strike them. And too his greater surprise the youth spoke perfect gothic and pressed two of his fists into the open palms of their opposite hands and bowed, the same way his father greeted the emperor...well plus a set of hands.

"I am Avinash, it means indestructible " The kid said as Chul-Moo reached at and pressed his hand to the boy's head

"Name's Chul-Moo, Kid. Scribes tell me it means "an Iron Weapon" " he said happily, understanding now this brat was as much of a brother to him as any of the men who fought and died by his side. His father accepted him as Human, so he must be human, who was he to question it. Humanity came in many forms, it was what was inside, beyond all the meat and gristle that mattered

"You smell of death" The kid said, grinning ear to ear, revealing his fangs "Like Uncle Lieren or the great killer Aruna. It surrounds you, Sir Chul-Moo, Your name is quiet fitting"

"Damn kid, getting onto my good side already" Chul-Moo Laughed, deciding immediately that he liked the mutated brat for the steel balls and bravado he had "And no I didn't get it after I got this"

Chul-Moo lifted his arm

"Elder Sister Luli has one of those, as does that man who keeps bothering her" Avinash said with a smirk "Yours is noisier, is it stronger, how'd you get it?

"Well, I was fighting some assholes that were...well different like you" He said, kneeling down and glancing over to see many of his brothers being swarmed by the smaller kids and was relieved to see all of them had taken their father's words to heart like he had, and were now trying to avoid harming the furred youths rather than planning how to eliminate them "Mutated, but rather than looking like cats, they were verminous, foul. The stench ruined my lungs more than the dozens of packs of Lho-Sticks I smoke daily"

Another form armed, furred boy marched up to the first, with a Mohawk of fur? Hair?

"WANNA SEE ME SMASH THIS ROCK" The kid shouted as Chul-Moo wondered if that was a game on this planet? He'd have to learn it if it was, wasn't like he was ever going back to terra. Maybe he could ask how these kids got adopted by their primarch, and where they came from to begin with.

"Suuuuure?" He drawled, his eyes darting up to a woman leading the herd of abhuman children. They must be abhumans for their to be so many of them. Normal mutations aren't so stable, or so tamed.

"Holy shit!" He spat, eyes widening the moment he recognized the quality of her cybernetics. It had to be archeotech! Nothing on Terra was that advance. He glanced down to his trusty metal arm, and tightened its hand into a fist. Suddenly it felt like he had a wooden stump rather than the height of the imperium's tech stuck to his shoulder.

The kids gathered to listen his story blinked and sneered

And then proceeded to tattle on Chul-Moo for his language.

Night had fallen over Chen-Dao academy and the valley below it. You had arranged for transportation of this new army and its armaments to the frontline of the Vishnu war, to join with the Imperial forces lead by Jinhai and the greatest Generals Long-Jia had seen. And while your sons had accepted your children as their kinfolk and now guarded their dormitories as they waited to be sent to the war front, their was a terrifying moment when a vast wave of killing intent rose from them. Xenophobia. Implanted or taught. It was clear many of them had fought and seen their brothers killed by creatures similar to your beloved tiger children. But, your words reached them and opened their hearts and minds. Though you were ready to scold them physically if they had not. These men, Astarte or otherwise, all but erected shrines in your honor. They worshipped you, adored you. And you could not help but ponder if they admiration was honest or if they were programmed to feel such loyalty and affection. After all, your father had remade your brain to function more similarly to a machine than a living mind. Had he implanted an instinctual bond between son and father as well.

You banished the thought, it did not matter. They were your sons, and soon it would not matter if they were created to feel such loyalty. For you would earn it and their love, alongside true, earnest Filial Piety.

"Father" The bass tones of Dae-Hyun's Synthetic voice called out to you

"Ah, exactly on time. How punctual" You say with a beaming smile as you turn around and find the leading officers of the three hundred and Dae-Hyun himself "You have told no one of this private meeting"

"I do not understand the need for secrecy, but figure you have your reasons, commander" one of them, who you know to have been a recent addition to not only the legion's command structure and hierarchy but the legion itself. He was a captain, named Nikephoros and before his ascension, lived as a grave tender in the mausoleum cities of the island nation of Creti

The rest affirmed their agreement with his statement, speaking somewhat stiltedly and overtly formally as they knelt before you.

"A secret for a secret" You cackle, clapping your hands together "For I must know if you can keep a secret"

All but Dae-Hyun shout that they can, eyes wild. Dae-Hyun merely nods solemly

"Truly? Even if I asked you to keep it hidden from my own father?" You ask "On threat of death and torture? Even in keeping this oath of silence you would be forever more damned and branded an outcast"

Hesitation

"Father, I would never betray your trust" Dae-Hyun rumbled "You who have accepted me as his own son, I would die before I forsake you. I have made you proud before, trust that I shall again"

"You are our progenitor, Lieren, and we were made in your image. If we are trusted with such a task, we'd keep our silence to our graves" Nikephoros gasps, bowing his head

"Jah!" Another of the veterans shouts "The 2nd legion never betrays their own! Our brotherhood is our strength"

"Even the lowliest of grunts would keep their lips shut if you asked them, Genesire" Another laughed "Tell us, let it serve as our first test of loyalty, as your first officers, trust us with your secret father. No matter what it is, we shall not speak it, not even to the master and chief"

"Perkele! Does it even need to be stated! We'd sooner chop our balls off before going against you!" Another captain bellows "Sooner leap into a warp core reactor!"

You smile down at the eleven men gathered before you, arms crossed. By morning, they and the rest of your sons will be introduced to Jinhai and the generals. You have few, but vital hours of peace to spend with your genesons and the other soldiers sent across space and time and it is imperative you explain to the most respected and highly ranked of them your relationship with Kanzeon and her unique existence.

How do you do word your explanation Lieren?

>Sons, you have a mother. I am wed in spirit and heart to a remnant of old humanity, a scion of the golden age of mankind. But she is not like other women, she was born through a technological rite where dozens, hundreds perhaps even thousands of human souls were forcefully combined into a singularity. Many became one upon her birth. Until I know my father will not harm her, this secret must be kept.

>Kanzeon, my beloved is more than she seems. The vessel that will accompany us in our battles is her true form, but she is no machine. She is human just in a different form, like your little brothers and sisters. I do not trust that my father would not enslave or exploit her, so this must be kept between you trusted few and myself.

>Haaah, once long ago, in the forest that devoured men and swallowed their bones a princess of an old forgotten age was caged beneath the soil. I found and released her, and in time we became husband and wife. She is...a peculiar existence, but she is a friend and ally of humanity and the reason there are so many wonderous technologies upon Shangrala.

We need to be firm but light hearted. I a way, Kanzeon is like Dae-Hyun. Despite having a body of machinery, they're spirit, their soul burns bright with the light of humanity.

We actually likely do. They have Mk 1 Thunder which is not even sealed. Considering they type of opponent we're throwing them up against, we need them in fulled sealed environmental armour at the very minimum.

Cybernetics and new body would take too much time since surgery isn't instanteous and will necessitiate recovery time. Upgraded power armor would be more reasonable.

Prepare upgraded powered armour (with inbuilt null wards) for our sons and offer dae-hyun the opportunity to walk shangrila with his own feet once more.

Also we must not neglect the lay men and women. Issue them the upgraded arms and armour that the imperial long jian army is wearing. Will be miles better than the flak they’re wearing. These are battle hardened troops who volunteered to jump into a scary portal. They’re tough, unwavering and highly motivated. Likely a match for our members of our regiment of elites.

I think upgrading their existing armor would be the fastest solution.
Making them new armor from scratch runs the risk of it not interfacing correctly with the Black Carapace and additional cybernetic implants might not play nice with their existing implants either.
Retrofitting their existing armor and outfitting them with new weapons seems like the fastest and least risky way of giving them an edge before we lead them into battle.
>>
>>5168803
Perhaps the only thing we should delay is making Dae-Hyun whole again. As a dread, hes in a perfect position, being both well armoured, insulated and protected compared to his brothers.

Upgrade their arms, armour and cybernetics. Hopefully for such a small group, it should take a day to churn out the necessary equipment and then upgrade Dae-Hyun's. Like take his heavy bolter down and fit on it a volkite weapon.

Once the war is over, we can take the time to regrown the lost limbs of our sons.

>I do not trust that my father would not enslave or exploit her
This part of the suggested vote feels kinda, I don't know. The enslave or exploit parts are a maybe. Maybe the Emperor would due to his hate for the Men of Iron that rebelled against humanity. Maybe he's sympathetic towards Kanzeon as another gestalt collection of souls. Lieren might feel guilt for not trusting his father completely, but that guilt wouldn't be enough to make his fuck up. I think. If any of that made sense.

When this war is over Lieren should gather evidence and practice some speeches to explain to his space dad why his ship wife is not evil.

>>5168805
It's not something unreasonable to ask. Whatever we can do with what little time we got, and the finite resources we have available. The good news is that the starmetal is a strong malleable substance that can either be used towards cybernetics, armor, and weapons.
Mmmmm. Maybe outfit them with existing Vishnu sized armor, and stretch them out a bit so they fit.

>>5168808
>I think upgrading their existing armor would be the fastest solution.
Agreed. We'd need time to figure out the Black Carapace which would take time, so it would be better to cover the weaknesses in their armor.

On an unrelated note I love me some Cataphractii Pattern Terminator Armour.
>>
>>5168801
We also have to brief them on the mission, give them time to familiarize themselves with the weapons and their new comrades.
The problem is we are pushing back the attack to end the war and giving Nitya more time to summon daemons or create solutions to the problems we presented. Remember how sudden Nitya's invasion was? We don't want a repeat. That's why don't need their best but rather a quick and decisive victory. Really I'd sooner give up on the space marine support than give Nitya more time.

If we get Dae-Hyun's permission, we can go ahead and get started on regrowing parts for his body while the war goes on, and by the time the war is over we should have enough parts to rebuild him.

Words of wisdom. Even the Emperor shares this opinion.
The quicker this war ends, the sooner our people can move past these atrocities and begin to heal physically and spiritually.

This is a good idea. He can still fight the war while we prep to restore his body (If that's something he wants).

Yeah, worst case scenario is Dae-Hyun declining to have himself restored.
Even if that happens, we'll still have gained a good amount of knowledge in regards to Astartes physiology.

I'm wondering why Lieren is so worried about the Kanzeon issue is it from his genetic programming, the contents of his pod, or was there enough conversation between him, dad and malcador to make him aware it could be a problem. I mean considering the history of AI it wouldn't be surprising if Lieren thought it would likely be a minefield, some daemons taunted them about it once or twice which may have sparked the thought assuming Lieren had his eyes on the petty daemons in question at the moment so he knew how truthful they were being.
>>
>>5168964

In time. Now we must wait for qm to bless us with moar wurds.
>>
Quicker than lightning, faster than wildfire, swifter than the wind in a storm, your mind carefully analyzes every possible means of explaining Kanzeon's near unique nature and existence. Falsehood and lies are tossed away like chaff, as you pluck only the finest and most vibrant descriptions and explanations from the flowering garden of your mind. Such is the peerless efficiency of your mind that it devises an answer for your gathered eleven sons that will excellently detail and explain your relationship with Kanzeon and the intricacies of her nature in but a few words. Deeper explanation and expansion of the secret you now tell them can wait when the fate of your home and all of her peoples are not at stake.

"Sons, you have a mother" You state candidly as you turn your eyes to look into the shimmering visor of Dae-Hyun's metal tomb "I am wed in spirit and heart to a remnant of old humanity. A scion of the golden age of mankind"

You pause, looking over your eleven gathered sons, scanning their expressions and peering into their hearts to gauge their reaction accurately and understand their feelings towards the near explosive revelation you just revealed to them. In case you must adjust your planned speech, altering choice of phrase and emotional intonation to present the information in a more agreeable, acceptable light. They are clearly shocked, and confused but do not speak out or raise their voices out of turn. There's an uncomfortable weight to the air now, the atmosphere around the twelve of you growing dense with suspense and dread curiosity. Clearly, of all secrets, that you were married was not something your son's expected. You can only imagine and guess what kind of mystery they thought you were planning to reveal to them. But none of their hearts or eyes reveal any look of anger, doubt or despair. Showing that, so far, you have spoken nothing that would force these noble men to go back on their word and break their oath of secrecy and silence. Good. Smiling down at your silent sons, you turn your eyes towards the star dotted heavens and can almost see the beautiful astral plains beyond Shangrala's skies.

"Kanzeon" You begin again, a sigh drifting over your parched lips as the cool nightly wind whispers through your iron mane of hair, lifting it as you turn your eyes back down to the eleven gathered astartes "My beloved is more than she seems. She is not like other women, the vessel that will accompany us into battle is her true form but she is no machine"

The air electrifies, as shock and confusion heighten and you can practically see the minds of your sons fall into a maelstrom of wayward thoughts and questions, All billowing forth to fill their heads as they struggle to understand the meaning of your words and translate them into their reality. Their adoration and great respect for you dying every idea that forms in their minds.

To keep them from jumping to conclusions or strange fantasies that will only lead to stranger misunderstandings, you continue your explanation without delay

"She was born through a technological rite where dozens, hundreds, perhaps even thousands of human souls were forcefully combined into a singularity" You say bluntly, picking dirt from beneath your nails as you allow the most shocking part of Kanzeon's existence to settle and fully soak into your sons psyches. Nikephoros's expression shifts subtly, his face paling as his knuckles whiten. You can hear the bones in his hands creak as they tighten. His fellows have similar reactions, but they are quieted and soothed as your earlier lesson concerning their little furred brothers and sisters remerges in their thoughts, silencing outrage and revulsion before it can truly take root in the fertile soil of their minds.

Just as you planned

"Many became one upon her birth, but she is human just in a different form" You say to allow your sons the satisfaction of understanding the lesson "Before" you revealed its intent and meaningful teaching "Like your little brothers and sisters"

Nikephoros breathes out, nodding out of instinct as his brother's eyes remaining locked to you. The thought of how closely they resemble a litter of pups when they gaze up at you as they are now flits across your thoughts, bringing an amuse smile to your face as you reach the end of your brief, but vitally important speech explaining the bond between you and Kanzeon and the unique circumstances of her life. The reason it must remain a secret, the cause for your caution and why they must keep it closely to their twin hearts.

"Until I know my father will not harm her or exploit her this secret must be kept between you trusted few and myself" You say gravely, eyes widening and filling with a chill light as the winds still and the air cools around you as if affected by your serious demeanor "You are men grown, and as my progeny I know you all to be blessed with wisdom, so I need not ask if you understand the gravity of what I ask of you"

"We understand, father" Nikephoros said first "And it doesn't change our choice"

"Aye, it is Shocking, but not enough to break our loyalty. At least she's human" Another, one of the ones taken from the same stock as the "Ursine Guard" says cheerfully "A human in an iron shell, The bear over here is mostly the same as that. Difference is your bride's older"

"I was expecting far worse to be honest, that you've found love is not as strange as half the things I've seen on my tours of duty" Another laughs

"Our history is truly fucked if you think about it" Another says, addressing one of his brothers rather than you "If they were grinding humans together to guide their ships"

"She thinks the same" You state with a frown "It was a cruel act, her and her sister's creation"

"There are more of these...shipbound humans?" Dae-Hyun asks curiously as your sons turn to making jokes to ease the lingering tension and adjust to the new reality they faced.

"Four others" You say, voice and expression darkening as you turn away from them "When I debriefed the rest of your forces during our trek to this academy, I spoke of a strong hold of great technology twisted to monstrous ends"

Instantly the eleven understand, but say nothing. But the air once more becomes heavy, but rather than tension or suspense, it is now rich with a grim determination and murderous intent

"That is one of her sisters, driven mad by her contempt for mankind, for being created and enslaved" You say sadly, bowing and shaking your head "I've spoken to her and her lapdog, the barbarian King I told you, who augmented his body into an...abomination of vile machinery and dangerous cybernetics. But"

Grinning ear to ear you look back to your sons, who now understand exactly the breed and strength of the enemy they face'

"We hold the advantage, for we have two living ships, fully operational, to their one, crippled and maddened matriarch of steel!" You snarl predatorially "The danger lies in cracking her shell without breaking the planet, for if the technologies of her city are broken they will swallow Shangrala in flames!"

"I can see why we were needed" Nikephoros cockily chuckles "This kind of job needs an expert hand"

"And here we thought we were just going to fight more technobarbarian tribes, not a deluded hive of souls that thinks itself a god. I deserve a raise!" another laughs

"We aren't paid" Another jokes

"If we were, I'd give up my salary to serve beneath our primarch" Another sneers before turning to you "And as we are under your command, if there's any detail you left out besides the fact we're up against an ancient warmachine rather than a deluded hick who thinks he's king shit of fuck mountain..."

"I've told you everything besides that truth" You laugh, clasping a hand on your son's shoulder "I am no fool after all, and knowing what weapons and tactics your enemies have is pertinent information that I would not keep from any under my command, especially my own sons"

"Good" he says after a moment of pause "I was suspecting you'd say they had armies of murderous automata piloted by abominable intelligences"

You choose to keep quiet about the fact that the Vishnu nearly did raise an army that fits the one your son was joking about. An army Bai died to keep from being raised. You'd tell them about Bai during the ride to the front lines of the war, they'd surely appreciate his tale and sacrifice.

Right if we are spending several days away from the fighting we want to make sure the terran and shangrala armies can synergize well so we need to listen in.
Secondly Lieren being friendly with the Terra auxiliaries will not only ensure there are no issues and maybe buff them a little due to his psychic paradox field but also it will help with their loyalty and will let Lieren find the spies sent by at least Malcador that I am 100% certain were sent and we don't want some possibly fanatical spy causing serious trouble.

Take the few days of down time, rapidly indoctrinate our sons and their mortal allies on the Imperial Army's SOP and equipment.

In particular, have them observe some practice sessions, practice with our airborne transport systems, boarding/disembarking/deepstriking and instruct some long jian engineers to make sure that a few transport craft are modified to carry Dae-Hyun's chassis for airborne insertion.

Lieren will take part in the strategy meeting, listening as Dae-Hyun and his officers present themselves to jinhai, helping the black general and the lord of cavalry to adjust their battle plans for the newly arrived regiments

And delay returning to the fight himself, so he can, with Kanzeon and Mari, create new wargear for his sons.

Writing now
>>
The meeting takes place beneath the open sky and fog of Shangrala, as even the largest and most spacious of tents in the main imperial army's camp cannot hope to fit Dae-Hyun and his officers without becoming claustrophobically cramped, and would certainly make for a hellish first meeting as the heat radiating from their armors would make the air inside of the enclosed space sweltering if not broiling. So it was decided as soon as the transport ships landed just outside of the vast encampment of soldiers from Long-Jia, Shuni and Bask that your sons would present themselves to emperor Jinhai outside, and offer their services to the Long-Jian empire and people as they entered the camp. A symbolic gesture of sorts, that both fulfilled the Shangralans' desire for ceremony and the Terrans' austere professionalism.

Having alerted the appearance of your transforming robes into the traditional garb of a low class general, you watched Jinhai approach the party of eleven Astartes and three terran soldiers, two women and one man, dressed in the finest armor that the forges of Kanzeon and Mari have produced. Fish scaled, partially in the style of an Aeldari elite due to the origins of the pattern of armor he wore, but it was customized to align with the aesthetic of Long-Jia and to resemble the traditional armor worn during the rebellion era. It was colored brightly, in the colors of his infantile dynasty. The plates and joints of the armor shifted gradually from blue to pink and were gilded with gold, a wholly decorative design meant to evoke his imperial majesty to inspire the common born soldiers of the army making it all but impossible to lose sight of the courageous , warrior emperor in even the most chaotic of battlefields.

On his left gauntlet, a carp was carved, on his right a dragon in the style of the once wicked Gao family's crest, symbolizing the binding between the one disgraced house and the imperial dynasty. A cape was latched over his shoulders, mantled with panther and tiger fur and latched in place by a brooch shaped like the six fanged spear. The silken cloak is dyed in a halved pattern, Blue and Pink, darkening in some places to become a deep maroon shade. The lights of the landing craft illuminate the scales of his raiment, making them glitter like pearls beneath the sun. And, even from this distance, you could spy a charm slung around his neck like a necklace, carved from black jade and bearing in miniscule script his Wife, the fair Lady Daiyu's favorite passage of the journey. A good luck charm, embodying the empresses prayers that he will return home from this war.

The sight of it alone made you smile. But when you spotted, beneath it, a tiger fang that Bai had taken to wearing, your smile grows and a pleasant warmth rests itself in your chest.

"Good Greetings, noble sons of Lieren. It is my honor and privilege to welcome you into my camp and to at last meet your acquaintance" Jinhai speaks in near perfect gothic , humbly confident and naturally proud "It is a great misfortune that we were unable to meet in a more peaceful time and a more pleasant locale, such as the famed gardens of Qian or upon the glass bridge in autumn, but that we have met at all is a blessing"

"Everyone on this planet talks like that?" Nikephoros gasps, his shock breaking his composure "I thought that kind of formality and eloquence was just our primarch taking liberties in his translation"

Jinhai laughed and shrugged his shoulders

"We of Long-Jia are a naturally poetic people, I am told" he says, voice now burred with amusement and good humor "One of our most storied poets described our voices as flowering with greater beauty than even the imperial gardens of the old dynasties, that even the lowest of scoundrels spoke with not verbosity and elegance than the most trained poets of the other nations. I can speak in a more dull fashion if you'd prefer"

"That is unnecessary, Long-Jia Jinhai" Dae-Hyun rumbled "You know why we have come, to offer our services to your war effort against the barbarian hordes so as to end the war decisively. You will find we are experts in the field of crushing savages beneath our boots, if doing so will protect civilian lives. All that must be done, is pointing me and my boys in the right direction to find Charlie and we'll do what we do best"

"What we were made to do" Nikephoros chimes in, eyes still wide with shock from hearing the flowery speech patterns of a Long-Jian spoken in gothic "Kill all sons of bitches who oppose the emperor's vision of the future"

Jinhai's eyes narrowed for a moment, before he recalled that your father was also an Emperor and that the Space marine was not referring to him. A few of the generals surrounding Jinhai visibly restrain themselves from scolding the astartes for their rough language, those who also took gothic lessons at least. The ignorant merely look on with awe, imagining their own version of the conversation

"I had heard you were all storied veterans and heroes of the wars on Terra, and I am most gracious you would leave your home to aid Shangrala and her virtuous children" Jinhai says, all ready at ease with your sons and not taking offense for their somewhat cheekily impolite demeanors and speech "Truly you are your father's sons if undertaking such a selfless sacrifice came so easily to you all. Proof of your virtuous hearts, oh friends of prosperity from the distant stars. Now, please, inform me of your capabilities and talents on the field of battle and off of it, so I may know best how to use you"

"Lieren is the only one who will command and "use" us" Nikephoros says sharply, clearly offended by Jinhai's assumed authority
Cont
>>
>>5173656

"I follow Jinhai's Command. For I am a general in his army" You answer cheekily before the misunderstanding can escalate. Nikephoros bows his head, embarrassed

"At least you didn't try to frag him like that Colonel of the Byzant Janizars" Dae-Hyun whispered over their radio to the longer Astartes "Was up to my ass in paperwork because of that stunt"

"He had it coming, he was going to use Grave Wardens as cannon fodder, and I didn't kill him, I just did not have time to warn him of the sniper on the ridge" Nikephoros muttered back "You know that, Old bear"

"That is what the official report said" Dae-Hyun chuckled, as Jinhai waited patiently while you thought of how fortunate it was that none of the Generals of Long-Jia would lower themselves to resort to such inhuman tactics, and thus did not risk a repeat of the "Incident" the two astartes mentioned, which you would have to ask about the next time you were alone with the young Captain.

"But to answer your question, lord, allow me to detail the areas of expertise of my men, including our little brothers and sisters" Dae-Hyun says, Jinhai smirks, no doubt imagining your adoptive children dressed as Astartes due to Dae-Hyun's choice of words "The intended use of our war gear, including the divisions of armor the Emperor has so generously allowed us to take along for this outing and the various support gear packaged along with it"

"I've heard their tanks reek of Sulphur and waste oil, my liege" Dai Niu whispers into Jinhai's ear "and produce a foul smelling pollutant that fills the air as clouds and stings the eyes. Cruder than our Iron turtles"

"A tank is a tank" Jinhai sagely replies, speaking to the old turtle in Shangalan as Dae-Hyun and his fellow officers rather colorfully describe their wargear and what each weapon can do to a human body or fortified wall of Plascrete or tell short stories of how of their more "Creative" uses of their vehicles and equipment.

It is then you notice Kang Yongrui and his father as suspiciously absent from this historic meeting, probably to avoid drawing the ire of your sons in showing their still sternly held resentment towards you. And that Yin lei and Lai song are studying your sons closely, with scribes at their side recording their observations.

You step over to the two great generals to offer your own advice concerning the deployment of your sons and their auxiliary forces, having informed yourself of their unique specialties and preferred methods of combat as well as their general strategic preferences and commonly employed tactics.

When there's a loud explosion and one of the walls surrounding the camp explodes into rubble after a bolter round was fired into it.

You, and every Astarte, soldier, general or servant gathered for the introduction and swearing of oaths turns to see Tao Dandan on her back, face covered in dirt and stone dust and with a bolter decorated in the style of one of the minor philosophical sects that have arisen in your legion. You haven't had time to discuss and debate with your sons who have taken a particular lesson too close and intimately to their hearts, so you cannot tell who the weapon may belong to.

But you are certain that Lady Dandan will need to take a medical leave to rest, and hopefully reflect on her decision to borrow and test one of your son's primary weapons without asking for permission. Or that it could be wielded by an unagumented human with injuring themselves

You cover your face and sigh. Which she did, judging by the great bruise forming on her shoulder and the way the limb was bent.

"Repairs of our perimeter wall will take mere moments, your benevolence" One of the laborers grunts while peeking through the hole, having stepped over the matriarch of the Tao who was still laid out on the ground in a daze.

"I need more of these magnificent Fire arms" She mutters, eyes twinkling with a childlike, almost innocent joy "They're like hand-held cannons!

"Is she alright?" Dae-Hyun asks, breaking the awkward silence as he looks down at the dazed and confused Dandan

"Mentally, no, physically, yes" Lai Song chimes in "That is the firestorm, Tao Dandan, Shangrala's first Artillery commander and its finest. Unfortunately, like many geniuses, her mind is addled by her expertise"

"Far kinder words than you last described her with, General Lai" Yin Lei states coldly as he glares down at Tao Dandan "And here I thought she had done away with her bad habits"

"She's young" Lai Song laughs as Jinhai pinches the bridge of his nose

"Someone get her to a medical tent before she can get up and "test" one of the heavier armaments brought by our guests from the stars" He commands angrily

You take it upon yourself to take Dandan there, and beckon Yin Lei and Lai song to follow you, so you can continue your discussion of tactics and strategy while Tao Dandan was being treated for the wound caused by her foolishness.
_

"He called multiple nuclear strikes upon himself?" Maria asked, her tone disbelieving and a little frightened "And they still let him hold a position of command? Even though that would gravely damage the already frail ecosystem of terra"

"Sister, clearly Terra has suffered far worse than a few low payload nuclear detonations" Kanzeon sarcastically stated "Considering that it was considered a viable tactical decision to drop nuclear weapons so closely to the positions they were defending that he was praised for it rather than court martialed. Losing contact with the rest of civilization must have sent the inhabitants of the homeworld back to the dark ages. A shame, really"

"It doesn't make it any less awful! How will Terra ever recover if they're dropping nukes on themselves! STILL" Mari frets, speaking to you and her sister through a holographic image of her mental avatar, which looks more Bask than Kanzeon and wears her hair much more shortly and in a strange style.

"Its a Bob cut" Both of them interrupt their conversation to answer you question without you speaking a word

"History has shown humanity scarcely changes, sister, hopefully Lieren's father will allow him to spend sometime gardening after they reunite" Kanzeon flippantly states, crossing her legs one of the others "He may be the only one who can make Terra anything but an irradiated hell hole"

"And the oceans are gone? How did they lose their oceans! Do you know the kind of climate changes and heavy industry that would be needed to proceed without oversight or intervention to deplete Terra of its oceans entirely" Mari continues on "Oh how desperate the population must've been during the long night! At least they have a leader to rally behind, and a chance to repair the damages of the poor, ailing homeworld"

"Maybe it was stolen?" You suggest as look up from the detailed diagram you drew of your sons' current and lacking protection

"How would an entire ocean be stolen?" Mari asks curiously

"It was probably the eldar" Kanzeon replies in jest "But in all honesty we should endeavor to discover if the loss of terra's oceans was a recent event, I wouldn't put it past humanity to raid each-other for a substance they were once able to produce via the most basic of technologies"

"Neither would I, unfortunately" You say, as Kanzeon peers over your shoulder and rests her chin on it to look over the blueprints you had been reading

"You were right, they do require much better armor. With how masterfully crafted their augments and gene modifications were, its no surprise they had to cheap out on the armor budget" Kanzeon mutters, grabbing the scroll from your hands

"Actually, sister, I believe its more that is all that has endured the long night and they had to make due with such paltry protection" Mari chipperly explains, smiling innocently as her holographic image paces before Kanzeon, briefly shifting the light making up her projected avatar to look as if it were a living woman near flawlessly. Though your eyes were still keenly aware it was nothing more than a collection of energy and light.

"I was making a joke, Mari" Kanzeon chuckled, reaching up to ruffle her sisters hair with a pat of her head only to frown when her hand past through

"Did you forget that..." You begin to ask, before Kanzeon interrupts you with a gentle electric shock as her cheeks turn a beautiful vivid shade of autumn red

"Its alright Kanzeon, we all make mistakes" Mari says as her sister grinds her teeth

"Don't tell anyone this happened, Lets just get to and focus on our work" She growls as she stands and marches out of the room which is rapidly smoothed down as she vents her anger by undoing all of the art covering its walls. Lotus blossoms wilt as the metal they are carved on meld and folds into itself.

You follow after her

"At once my love, working by your side shall imbue each piece of armor with the very essence of love" you happily exclaim

"Well not the portion I construct, but I suppose I might leave behind an emotional signature as well" Mari says, mentally broadcasting her words into Kanzeon's sensors and your mind "Unless you were speaking metaphorically"

"I'm always connected to his thoughts intimately, Mari, hearing everything he thinks and every emotion he feels so closely I could accurately map the changes in his psyche and emotional spectrum" Kanzeon says with a dramatic shrug of her shoulders and flipping of her hair "And even I am not certain if that was meant to be literal"

"it could be" you laugh, wrapping an arm around Kanzeon and holding her close as her body shifts around you, guiding you through her vast veins to reach the armory and manufacturing plants embedded within her.

Chances are that no matter what happens, after this conflict is over the survivors are gonna do their best to fashion themselves after Lieren. We have fight with them in the Shuni war and they regained their ancestors lost honor of fighting the Shuni. One lost multiple times because of the actions
of the ancient sorcerer lords, that attacked their people over and over again in honourless ways making them lose prestige and what not.
Their archenemies where killed by us and them, since we invited them in coming with us for attack the sorcerer lords across the Shuni sultanate.
And now they even prosper thanks to Lieren. While they might have a grudge, hating to death Lieren is kind out of the picture because he really did just a lot of good for all and even them. While not accepting the way of Kang Honor, and having a grudge with him they wouldn’t
kill him.

And their honor while somewhat not efficient, still makes them good people after fighting dark magicians for centuries.
They had an incentive of entering martial schools and military academies.
And the Journey arrived in their lands and court as well.

I think the problem is much more simple, is more one of acceptance and time. They had honestly never had someone betray them, with the Dai attack. But what can be said. War is war. Just by reading books of warfare from other cultures they will learn, of many examples of it used in warfare. They can keep their honour if they wish, it's not like we destroyed it or killed them

Heres hoping the imperial army gets along well with the natives and that the possibly psychic, possibly fanatical proto callidus assassins Malcador would have sent in the mass of soldiers don't cause any serious trouble.
As far as the armor is concerned, since we are going to be the anti-chaos legion getting anti chaos/warp protection early on will allow us to refine it over time.
Secondly When you consider that Lieren is a stealthy hunter, a martial artist, and has fought many foes that could shred through his toughness and armor without effort that he only defeated through supreme speed and agility focusing the armor on eldar style combat seems wise.
Our sons will still be super-humanly tough and the dark age tech will ensure they have at least normal power armor levels of protection, and considering enemies fight astartes like they are walking tanks as is they have already hit the point of diminishing returns on protection where more armor won't make much difference, being able to make full use or even boosting their speed and agility could let them dodge anti tank weaponry however.
>>
>>5174120
I think improving the current design is probably the best short term option as it would allow our Astartes to stop choking out the natives of Shangrala with their fumes.

This misses some of the more ridiculous tech we have like multidimensional space generators and makes mostly wrong assumptions about the direction tech will develop. Great Crusade era greatly favored Terminator armor over normal power armor for a reason.

Honestly I do see usage to this, the only agreement I have against it is that we can easily spec into this. Using our sons currently I think deepstriking them is probably best as we can go deeper with strong beefy units and the stronger our sons are the better they can protect others in the army.
>>
>>5173789
How do you think everyone, including Lieren, is going to react to process of actually creating an astartes and becoming one of his sons? Because no matter the legion or chapter, the transformation is long and brutal.
I can't see anyone who would willingly give their child to the Second Legion unless they were Nobility wishing to regain their honor or devoted monks who believed it a divine honor. It's not that they're afraid to fight, the Vishnu and New Varro would join the Imperial Guard as soon they became men because one is a martial culture that idealizes strength and the other is a bunch of rough and tumble death worlders. Hell, even the Tigermen would join in droves if Lieren told them to. The problem is that they're children, they have to be. The process is simply too risky on anyone older- Kanzeon and Mari might be able to improve it, make it safer, less painful, but then the Terran would accuse them of being soft.
. . .
I wonder if they'll get something similar to our eyes as part of their geneseed.
>>

Accusations of being soft can be easily ignored if quality doesn't dip and intergration improves.

Why would we be slow when we have access to cloning tech and the ability to move souls between bodies via lotus scepter technology.

Just recruit adults and move them into younger bodies that can then be implanted.
>>
>>5174569
The Vishnu would see it as an honor even if they died during the process. It helps if you see them as space Gurkha's.

The Kang try to emphasize being above pain as seen with the painful surgery without being sedated. There still is a bit of awkwardness that will take time to dispell so not sure how they would feel about becoming a space marine.

There's also the fact that to Shangri-la, Lieren is a living legend. If you took the opinions of the family out of the picture a lot of young boys would leap at the chance to become like Lieren.

As sad as it is there will inevitably be orphans after this war among the original Vishnu lands so there will likely be many that take the chance there.
>>
>>5174590
I could see a lot of orphans taking the phrase, "becoming a son of Lieren" very literally.
>>
>>5174590
>>5174593

We also don't need to recruit training when we can cheat with GAoT medical technology, Cloning tech, and the Lotus scepter soul moving technology.

Recruit adults mainly and just clone them younger bodies to stick them into. Much more moral. Also perserve their og bodies so if they fail the procedure we can just move them back into them.

This allows us to recruit already trained soldiers as well. Which will cut back on a LOT of the training of space marines.
>>
>>5173858
Mari only needs to make a body if she really wants to. If she's content as she is then that is fine.

Been doing some reading. The only reason the Emperor made the space marines was he couldn't get the augmentation proccess stable enough to use adults like he did with the thunder warriors with the technology and knowledge he had.

Considering we got access to Kanzeon and Mari and their knowledge we might actually be able to make adult space marines viable even without using the clone and move soul cheat we already have access too.
>>
>>5174614
It does not. the lotus technology is what was used to make the sisters. If it erased souls then they couldn't have used it for that process. Please read the quest before you try to claim stuff like that.

Not what I was thinking of. Move their souls into adolsent bodies and then augment them from there if the higher end techology doesn't actually make adult augmentation possible.

There is no agreement on what exactly is the Vitae Womb, the only thing we know is that it's a secret and that Genators are disgusted by it. It can be vatborn like servitor, straight up cloning, birthing chemicals, etc.
The only sucessful cloning that I know of is the Fulgrim clone by Fabius Bile, there was that unlucky clone legion aswell.
And I don't know if Lieren and Kanzeon would realky like to use the scepre and clonign for that, both of them dislike using such advanced tech for war, and have a revulsion for those ones specifically.

That's cause of how shit stuff is on terra and in general.

Also nothing stops him for using them for their purpose and also weaponizing them at the same time.

Shit's fucked man and you have to make some hard decisions. Lieren's been extremely lucky in the decisions he's had to actually make.

You keep ignoring the possibility to study geneseed to be able to recruit older candidates, even though it was your own suggestion.
We were going to do it anyway to create a primarch tier body for Kanzeon capable of carrying her soul. Or atleast it was an old plan, don't know if it was dropped.
>>
>>5174719
Vatborn, for both servitors and possible magos recruits. Although the last one depends on the forge world.
>>
>>5174722
I highly HIGHLY doubt he would do that. Especially since he'll have evidence of why that's a horrible idea if it's not voluntary at all.

We don't have GW's current dumb as fuck version of the Emperor in this quest that does dumb shit he knows is going to blow up in his face eventually.
>>
>>5174723
also Joyboys and joygirls. IE whores. Yeah that's a thing with the mechanium/us.

>>5174722
>We were going to do it anyway to create a primarch tier body for Kanzeon capable of carrying her soul. Or atleast it was an old plan, don't know if it was dropped.
Still a plan and we need to study our self more then that.

Honestly I can't wait to get up GAoT tier ship yards and what not running in space. I want to start expanding before the emperor can reach us. Only Gulliman and dorn did that canonically.
>>
>>5174726
Old lore Emperor was misguided. He was a well intentioned extremist that caused more harm than good in the end.
>>
>>5174726
We never know, he did make a mistake in trying to remove our emotion, he could rationalize it as a nescessity and have it blow up on his face. It wouldn't be the first time OG emps did it.
>>5174722
Also we need an actual name for Kanzeon's kind, since they are't exactly MoS. I propose Men of Gem, since we found her surronded by the warpstone, and because Men of Warpmetal isbl too long.
>>5174729
Ok, robot prostitutes is new for me.
>>
>>5174735
No that's new lore. Along with being a mix of having always been a dick the longer the horus heresy went on.
Old lore emps was someone who had the best intentions but got fucked over by chaos dicking over his future sight at just the right moment and via chaos turning his sons and him not communicating enough with the primarchs what his plans were. Outside of that he made choices he hated cause there weren't better options.
His other fuck ups were not controling the rampent xenophobia in people since he did make it possible for alien protectorates to exist.
>>
>>5174729
>>5174741
This is new to me too, please post some art or text about this.
>>
>>5174741
>We never know, he did make a mistake in trying to remove our emotion, he could rationalize it as a nescessity and have it blow up on his face. It wouldn't be the first time OG emps did it.
If you go reread that part you can see he looked at what he did there and regretted that decision. Kanzeon called lieren and thus the readers attention to that.
>>
>>5174745
>>5174741
>Ok, robot prostitutes is new for me.
Don't have art and texts but someone who ready a book focused on the mechanicus mentions it's a thing they make on some forge worlds to offer as a carrot to forge menials and what not.

Work hard enough and have some time in the whorehouse later.
>>
>>5174746
Oh I know he regretted it, that's why I said he did a mistake.
So it means he is capable of making them in a moment of Perturabo grade autism (tm).
>>
>>5174748
But are they like generic whores or do they got like prosthetics for sucking dick?
>>
>>5174750
their designed to be really good at it. Whether that's mechanical enhancements or being designed from the ground up genetically it can go either way.
>>
>>5174752
By the Emperor, I need to go down to Mars right the fuck now and check out what they've out. I bet they genetically engineered them wide hips and big assess.
>>
>>5174748
Ok, all I can find is people talking about some Ciaphas Cain novel, Gaunt's Ghost Necropolis and Flesh and Steel.
So weird robot clone sex confirmed.
>>
Also isn't the biggest issue with in 40k cloning is that clones don't develop their souls right for the most part? For human cloning anyway.
>>
>>5174785
I think so? There was also that whole bad luck thing with the hero clone army.
>>
>>5174789
>I think so? There was also that whole bad luck thing with the hero clone army.

Isn't that cause they're trying to do shit like straight up resurect people like Malcador or not alexander the great?
>>
>>5174790
Yes, but it was Macharius, not Malcador, and they were trying to make an entire army of them, not just ressurect.
But them again Fabius managed to do it when the Afriel Strain failed, so who fucking knows?
>>
>>5174798
I imagine the answer is chaos fuckery. Also Fabius is a straight up atheist to the point it replace daemons and shit. Meanwhile the imperium believes in gods.
>>
>The Afriel Strain was a shadowy experimental process which used genetic material from a number of the Imperium's greatest heroes to, in effect, make clones of them. The legendary Macharius was among the individuals replicated in this manner. This created warriors who were mentally superior to any regular Guardsman, albeit prone to disaster.[1]

>The Afriel Strain was an attempt to create the perfect soldier, though it resulted in unforeseen mishaps. For no reason that their creators could ascertain, the Afriels appeared to attract the animosity of other warriors and suffer from the most appalling bad luck. In each case when the Afriel Strain has been fielded, it has met with a period of success for its soldiers are undoubtedly superior. This superiority is not particularly in physical terms, but mentally, as they show absolutely no fear in combat. This initial period of success was always followed by the rapid decline and eventual destruction of the regiment. Nonetheless, whoever the creators of the Afriel Strain may be, they continue to experiment, fielding their "perfect soldiers" across the war zones of the Imperium.[1]

>Afriels are universally albino, with pale hair, alabaster skin and colorless eyes, something that only provokes the hatred of others.[1]

Yeah. Seems to be a fundamental issue with their technology used to create them.

Say what you want about Fabius but his technology is top notch. And he learned from the dark eldar too later on.
>>
Speaking of which, that article lead me to information on Replicae.

>Replication has been tried at least twice in the Imperium's history by a Space Marine unit seeking to quickly replace catastrophic losses. Instead of using human recruits, geneseed is used to "grow" clones of previous battle brothers, which can be amalgamations or singular individuals. Ideally, this process should produce a fully mature Astartes, with all of his implanted organs fully developed, and ready for combat in a matter of weeks or months, instead of the years it normally takes to mature and train a Neophyte into a full-fledged battle-brother.[2]

>Being one of the many technologies developed in the Dark Age of Technology, a great deal of the processes and techniques for creating successful and functioning clones was lost. These include the purification of the blood to be used in the cloning procedure and the elimination of gene-flaws.[2]

>Due to the loss of these techniques, mutations and other deformities occurred in almost every later attempt to repeat the process. These might include extra limbs, claws and fangs and also mental and psychological changes, including fury and predatory bloodlust.

>The replicae process can also magnify and accentuate already present gene-flaws. In many cases deformities present in the gene-stock can take disturbing and horrific shapes in the replicae.

Yeah we should avoid most of the issues that the imperium has with genetic engineering and cloning.
>>
>>5174810
missed this on the page

>In M31, due to the heavy losses the Raven Guard Legion sustained during the Isstvan V massacre, Corax asked the Emperor for the technology to replace his numbers and return to combat readiness as quickly as possible. The first group of recruits were successfully turned into marines in a matter of hours. After the resounding success, Corax continued the program, though infiltrators from the Alpha Legion had slipped in with the survivors of the Dropsite Massacre. These Alpha Legionnaires allowed Omegon to infiltrate the Raven Guard to steal a copy of the genetech for his own use, as well as sabotage Corax's functional unit. The second and third groups of recruits quickly devolved into mutants. Despite the initial success and ignorant of the sabotage, Corax deemed the program to be a failure and would continue to create Astartes through the traditional means.[2][3]

So yeah, Options exist for us that don't involve conscripting children in mass to make Space marines.

We are talking about the future of our legion. I would prefer to keep it growing and expanding in a way that doesn't cause Lieren to hate himself.
>>
>>5174823
Atleast it's something to talk about between updates.
>>
Ngl, it sucks there are no really good answers. Our best hope is we either crack how to augment adults successfully due to higher tech access or that the Clone a younger body and move a soul works out.

Otherwise we'll have to take actions that Lieren as a person would extremely dislike. Such as either doing repliacae and making people to just war or die or conscripting children in mass for it.
I guess the best way to make the best of the worse options is to teach them to be more then just soldiers so they have things outside of war.
>>
>>5174833

But also, it's not like the people of Shangrila would object to it- at least not enough to stop the flow of new recruits. It's just that Lieren despises suffering and it has to be done.

Easiest way to do this is via contacting him via psykerism and letting Magnus know whats going on.

Well that and teaching him all we know of warfare and how to hide out in the wilds and getting him to go into the deserts or mountains on his world and hide out there until we get get people there to help him.
>>
>>5174860
Lieren could just, like, astrally project with his brother Magnus, then go ham on cheese on people as they reverse ghost puncher everyone.
>>
This describes the various terms.

>A noble setting isn't one where everyone is good, more like one where people are active and, more importantly, impactful in the grand scheme. The actions of a single hero can change the world, and a single big villain can ruin it: there are important people, who are so either by birth, rank or sheer willpower, and every single one of these people MATTER.

>In a grim world, no matter what you do, an individual can't secure more than an individual victory, if even that, because the rest of the world is too big/scared/powerless/selfish to build upon his impulses and influence.

>Now, a bright world is one full of opportunity, of wondrous sights to behold. It doesn't mean that it has to be MLP, it can be dangerous, but your first instinct when looking at a new location should be awe and wonder: people may adventure to save the world, but they leave town with a smile upon their face, eager to see what comes next. The shadow of Risk is largely erased by the glint of Adventure. In a bright world, it's quite possible for people to go on adventure just for the hell of it, since the journey is its own reward. Resurrection, or at least means to heal grave injuries, is usually accessible, to counterbalance the fact that the risks out there are real.

>A dark world is one where life sucks, and on top of the usual hazards, something or someone is poised to kill everybody else in the story; whether it be demon overlords, 'nids, or even the lack of water, if this threat has its way everyone dies and they die for good. If you lose an arm, you play a cripple. In the extreme cases, even when you win a fight, your career is over (i.e. gangrene). This means that, even though people may be ready to help (noble), they'll need a damn good reason to do so, since stepping out of line is so dangerous (dark).
>>
>>5174862
Would work but it's not sustainable We could maybe help over throw the city but Angron has no idea how to run that stuff.
All he unironically knows is fighting and we would have to crash course his ass on how to run a city, defense and the technology and what not to fight off the other cities on his planet.
>>
>>5174867
He really needs to run away and hide before he gets nailed, everything else should slowly come naturally to him as long as his brain isn't messed with.
>>
>>5174871
Angron's not going to just ditch his fellow gladiators. They are his family. It's like us and our brothers of the panther.
These are the peeps who he took their pain in from via psykerism.

Lieren has learn more than once, and seen more than once what the Water Stones do and that they shouldn't be used as weapons (they have been used for restore the Cui lands for example, as well other places). Because simply speaking, as weapons they are something that can kill lands and men with extreme ease.
So yes he would expect his father to use them for peace, not for killing lands or peoples, because he knows what this machines can do.
Lieren doesn't use them in war for a reason.

LIEREN is a hunter. Our Astartes are clearly heavy infantry.
While they may show a proclivity towards Lieren's preferred methods of engagement, that's not readily apparent until they're directly compared to the other Legions.
As it stands, compared to baseline humans, they are pretty much walking tanks, if particularly dexterous ones.

Improving the current design of their armor and weapons, without changing its function but advancing it with the materials knowledge you, your wife and her sister possess: 30

Survivability and protection, not only for themselves but for others. They shall be walls of steel and faith.:8

Adorn the armor with null denouncement charms and passages from the Journey.: 17

Inspired by native Shangralan wildlife, create specialized armors and weapons designed to compliment the martial styles you have invented.: 1

Agile movements and precision. The Aeldari have show grace is just as deadly as brute strength.: 2

So Lieren will simply improve his sons' wargear without changing its functions but by advancing it with materials and knowledge
And adorning it with null denouncement charms and passages from the journey

Surely, the songs will sing of the great Lieren forging the armor to clad his sons with hammers of molten metal upon a forge of stars in the cold depths of the heavens, plays teaching of and detailing the events of this war will surely include scenes of a father and son working in celestial forges lit by phoenix feathers and the very dust of the cosmos to create the blades for the noble warriors who have followed their father to the fair valleys of Shangrala. The truth, after all is much more mundane yet much more extraordinary as well. With the advance, arcane technology of Kanzeon and Mari's Cyclopean foundries, the act of creating such mighty, storied armor is as simple as entering a combination of chemicals into the systems guiding the molecular, digital printing devices and allowing them to create alloys that are strong and durable where they need to be and flexible in others. You doubt any mortal smith could recreate the combination of minerals and steels. "Star Metal" is married to Adamantium, imparting the steel the psionically resonate and "living" properties of the astounding material that forms the bodies of your beloved Kanzeon and her gentle sister. And that is the most ordinary of combinations and alloys you create in the process of improving the armor and weaponry of your sons.

Strangely, their hulking suits of armor are only powered and connected to the subdermal interface snaked beneath their skin in the upper portions. The torso and arms. The legs are entirely unconnected to the rest of the armor and offer minimal protection. And while the battalion erasing weaponry fielded by the Vishnu renders armor nearly pointless, it is still a weakness you must do away with.

The suits shall become like the armor of pure star metal you wear when you do not choose to instead wear it as resplendent and ever shifting robes finer than any silk. Fully enclosed, protecting them from atmospheric dangers such as poison mists or toxic air or smother miasmas, but also the lack of air itself. Replacing the opened faced helmets and visors of their prior gear, you will take inspiration from a prior creation and give them masks of hardened star-Adamantium, that contains all of the necessary sensor arrays and diagnostic systems while doing away with the critical flaw of exposing their faces to the elements or weapons of their opponents. You will leave these war-masks, that the wearer can see through as if peering through the advance visors of an Aeldari helmets, from which you took some lesser designs from, blank. Uncolored and without a face or expression. They will speak to the world with their righteous actions and great deeds, rather than their allegiances, as you did years before.

And with the improvements of the basic design of this powered armor, the thunderous footstep of your genesired legion shall fall silent as a panther's step

The second weakness you address is the unnecessary bulk of the suits.
Cont
>>
>>5177011

The powered portions of the armor augment the already impressive strength of the wearers but with the peerless engineering of Kanzeon's Era, you can do away with the ridiculously sized cables and the massive powerpack itself by merging the systems into the armor itself, allowing its overall frame to be slightly reduced and slimmed as the space occupying machinery was reshaped as veins within the armor itself. And the increased space within the armor allowed for the introduction of a miniaturized life support system decentralized through out the now fully enclosed and sealed suit. So, Kanzeon and Mari gifted their lungs and living veins to your sons, symbolically of course.

There are other additions, of course, but they are not fixing flaws but rather creating new subsystems within the armor itself, integrated within it. Taking inspiration from Aeldari ship design and the gravitational anomalies the Vishnu take sadistic delight in flinging at your countrymen, you found a way to briefly reduce the weight of the armor and its wear to almost nothing, allowing them to soar through the air with a single leap. And, combining the protective energy shields that serve to protect Kanzeon and her sisters, and the crystalized light and gravity generators the Vishnu misuse as weaponry, you can create an additional layer of protection that can formed into a true shield in the hands of the wearer or a weapon should they be deprived of all others.

This device, you implant, like with the Titanic fighting statues, in a similar arrangements to meridians. And cleverly, you use this same network of shield generators to serve as a channel for Qi itself! as it will line up, and hopefully connect to the living meridians of your sons! At least, you believe it will, if you understanding of the "Black Carapace" Beneath their skin is correct which you are all but certain it is Considering that both you and Kanzeon studied the augmentations of your sons closely and fervently.

The lesser additions include means to maintain hydration and nutrition even if your sons must battle for days, and means to apply first aid without taking them from their armor, which was Mari's suggestion, but they are too numerous to go over in detail as your shrew eyes spotted dozens of ways to improve the armor that will protect your sons and expand its usefulness on and off the field of battle.

Looking upon the finalized armor, you cannot help but to feel the featureless full face masks will be unnerving and terrifying to witness while they march to war. But surely, considering how creative and individualistic your sons are, they will customize their masks and armor without your heeding or command. The three hundred empty shells white as alabaster are lined up in many rows, as Kanzeon busies herself with adding the barest of personalization to each suit of armor, adding the name, rank and company of each of the Marines to their future armor

and when she thinks you're not looking, hiding a microscopic lotus blossom somewhere on each suits armor plating. Which, after you tease her and relish in her reaction and embarrassment, inspires you to put much more than a single lotus onto the surface of your sons armor.

And so, passages of the journey and the null denouncement script are engraved with five methods onto exterior and interior of each son of armor, offering them more protection than the armor itself even if they will not see it as anything more than a flair of beauty and decoration.

Improving their weaponry is a much more brief and simple affair. Adjusting calibrations, replacing subpar materials, improving the mixture of chemical accelerants and energy sources, listening to Dandan and Shan when they complain about the Bolter Shell's ratio of explosive to shell and adding improved targeting systems and recoil absorbers to the weapons that produce kinetic force when fire. You also are bemused and a little unnerved to find that alongside primitive power blades, spears, mauls and many other forms of such weaponry, your sons also carry swords and axes much like the vishnu do, but of a slightly larger size. But you do not toss away such weapons in disgust.

Instead, in the edges of the razor sharp teeth, you place take the neural interface of the "Defanged" Agonizers you've made, so their bite will induce a brief paralyzes upon its victims, allowing them to die quickly and without suffering. As experience has shown, the sawing teeth of such weapons are more painful when the victim beneath them moves.

Satisfied with your work, you gather the newly forged war gear into Kanzeon's body, briefly visiting Mari to collect her share of the equipment, before returning to the battlefront from low orbit to present your sons their new armor and weaponry with beaming smiles on both your and Kanzeon faces
