Welcome back to Crescent Adventures, a quest based on the 90s Sailor Moon universe. Things can go as that universe went or you can derail it with your actions or ignore it completely to just focus on the problems and issues that affect your character!

Previously last week’s thread, our Ruka had a most eventful Monday. The teacher Sakurada Haruna has dramatically fallen asleep at her desk for no visible reason to the shock of everyone. Ruka tried to help but ended up being a victim of a mysterious exhaustion. Barely avoided the same fate as the teacher who is carried away to Juuban Hospital.

Incidentally, it's the target of your infiltration and Azul has gone on ahead to do some scouting. While he's off on his mission, you meet up for a nice talk with Mizuno Ami, the girl genius and spook, to learn more about the hospital and details of the place. Too much detail to be honest, you heard a creepy story about something in Ward A and the very specific instructions in dealing with 'it'. Also, Mizuno figured out that you intend to get into the hospital through the conversation, but at least she got the intent wrong.

So far, your hospital run has been smooth sailing. Security cameras are only useful if someone is watching them and if they are recording. Azul's managed to do scout ahead and do some great work by pulling out the vhs tapes from the recorder.

You've managed to do the easiest part so far in the mission, cut 8 flowers off 8 victims in Ward A. You've got one more target left, and she's the hardest one to get to. Located somewhere in the ICU unit is one lady with a flower to cut.

Also you've overheard some evidence that the scary story from Mizuno about 'it' wandering the hallways of Ward A might be real...

There's no turning back. You've already come this far, and there's only one person left...

Also, who knows what will happen if you don't intervene. Your conscience would never let you forget that you could have done something.

'Okay, heading out to the last lady.' You message your partner.

It was a good thing you let your buddy infiltrate the hospital first. The security cameras are a pain in the ass, you lucked out by having a guard who is lazing about instead of paying attention to what's on screen. Even better, it isn't being recorded because all the VHS tapes have been ejected by your partner in crime.

Azul is the M.V.P., most valuable penguin, of this entire operation. If he wasn’t located in the security room, you’d have a panic attack every second you were running around in the hospital. Then again if don’t get caught or act suspiciously, it might not have matter.

It doesn’t take long to locate the nurses’ changing room, but the door is locked. It isn’t too terrible of an obstacle, your lock pick set should be more than sufficient. The only issue is the camera that is focused on this hallway. You see it tucked away in a distant corner.

‘Azul, is that security guard observing the camera feed?’ You ask your partner before you even start thinking of breaking out the tools.

A negative chirp comes in response.

An answer like that means it is time to get to work. A quick listen at the door reveals no sound on the other side. You unfurl your tool kit and begin ‘picking flowers’ in a hurry. Speed is essential in this situation but you discover that calmness under pressure is important as well. The security camera makes it hard to concentrate, you’re ever alert for Azul’s warning if someone is about to walk in on you or if that lazy guard is going to check the camera feed.

The sound of a satisfying click and sensation of turning the doorknob has never been so sweet to your ears and nerves. In no time at all, you dress up in hospital scrubs and grabbing a fully stocked cleaning cart with a bucket of water and even some spare masks. A facial covering to disguise your face.

It was time to go. You trundle out with your disguise and fully stocked cleaning cart. Despite preparation, you are not mentally prepared for how busy this part of the hospital as you wander about.

At one point, your heart leaps up to your throat at a large crowd of nurses and doctors heading straight your way. There's no escape. Thankfully, your face is under a mask, you can feel the strained facial contortions twitching as you continue to push the cleaning cart onwards. As the group gets closer, you shift the cart slightly to the side to allow them more room in the hallway. The opposing group responds in kind and shuffles closer to the opposite side.

Like two opposing schools of fish mutually ignoring the other. Not a head turns to look or comment on you as you push your cart past them. They're far too involved in an excited conversation as they speed past you.

"She's awake?!"
"They're all awake according to Senior Nurse Takara and Nurse Imamoto. And…"
"That's not true, Ms. Ono is still unconscious in the ICU."
"No changes in her condition at all."
"Start calling the families with an update, maybe open up reception….."

You recognize Mrs. Takara, the old nurse in Ward A. Was Nurse Imamoto the clumsy Saya then? Also Ms. Ono? Is that the lady you should be searching for? Well, it's a clue you'll need to investigate.

In any case, your humble disguise as a lowly hospital cleaner allows you to fly under the radar of virtually everyone run into. You’ve met 2 bored security guards patrolling the halls who didn’t even look at you as you slowly shuffle around searching for a certain Ms. Ono. Similarly Doctors and nurses are too busy doing their rounds to find your presence surprising. It is almost dehumanizing, none of the people you ran into looked at your face, making the mask almost redundant.

The stress though is enough to give you premature grey hair. You are overjoyed when you finally find your last target. The door has a name of Ms. Ono Mineko and looks exactly like the room Azul showed you viz images previously. And it is a sad sight to see. Under bandages, wires and plastic I.V. tubes is a slight woman dwarfed by her bed and the attendant machinery through the windows.

Was the door open? You pick up an antibacterial spray and cleaning cloths as though your intent was to clean the door handle. Depressing the lever downwards as though by accident, you hear a click and the door opens slightly. You feel a thrill of joy.

'This is great! I'll just...' You start thinking of entering the room and start cutting away when you hear a warning chirp from your penguin.

You shut the door and pretend to clean. A few nurses come into view as they go into a neighbouring room.

It is a pattern that repeats over and over, again and again. Just when you think you are in the free and clear to get into the room, someone comes into view or the security guard actually starts checking his monitors, or a doctor comes around the corner.

How the hell are you going to get in there to cut the frickin’ flower off? Foot traffic is crazy, why can't they all just go away? Why did this particular section just have to have a security camera?

You fume and grind your teeth as you clean vigorously.

>Abort mission, too risky with all these people about...
>Enter the room, pretend you're cleaning inside while cutting...
>Ask Azul to come down and do the cutting, he's invisible...
>Sneak in some water, your knife and the stone into the room while you remain outside. Time to use Distant Hands....
>Write in...

> Enter the room, pretend you're cleaning inside while cutting...

Some sleight of hand might be what’s needed here. Lingering outside and using distant hands might warrant questioning from staff when we stand in place for a while. But even in the ICU, rooms need to be cleaned.

Welcome back QM! And happy new year.

>>Enter the room, pretend you're cleaning inside while cutting...
This sets Ruka up to get caught cleaning some room a cleaner's not supposed to be in or something but that's just part of a good story!
Besides, no reason to resort to the supernatural when there's a mundane method available.

Speaking as someone who currently has a few years of experience working as a hospital nurse, we might be able to draw attention away from ourselves if we have Azul waddle down here and pull an alarm, or use water hands to do so. A fire alarm, perhaps a rapid response team alert or lord help us, a code blue alert. It might grab everyone’s attention for long enough for Ruka to cut away the vines.
>>

I'm with this anon, he's speaking from experience after all

To clarify, a Code Blue is basically when a patient has stopped breathing or is found and is not breathing. It's a huge emergency and pretty much anyone and every medical staff on the floor will go over there because it's a life and death situation, and potentially many more.

A Rapid Response Team call (RRT) is basically something bad is happening to the patient, but they're not in potential danger of dying. But they still need a doctor and a team to assess the patient immediately because their condition could deteriorate rapidly. Like if a patient has a seizure. This will get all the medical staff on the floor to examine the patient and a few doctors making their rounds. A less severe version of a Code Blue basically.

Pulling a fire alarm probably wouldn't be a good idea, now that I think about it. It'd probably annoy the hospital staff more than anything else, once they determine that there's no fire around. And if there is, they'll begin evacuating patients and staff, which means that Ruka might be discovered.
>>
>>5149577
making a fuss sounds like it could potentially hurt someone or make Ruka's job harder, rather than easier...

We seem to be split between Enter the room vs cause a distraction and then enter the room.

Actually, in the end, it's 'enter the room' but the details on how to achieve it are still foggy.

This being Ruka though, she will not know the intimate details on RRT or a Code Blue to cause a distraction that will pull away the majority of nurses and doctors. She can guess at pulling a fire alarm or causing some sort of bizarre chaos with Azul or even messing about with her 'Distant Hands' to cause a distraction.

After all, she can summon the two hands at a distance without being forced to form them on her physical hands now due to training and messing about.

If you choose to do something that will cause a Code Blue or RRT, she'll have to roll a knowledge check for the idea to occur to her and work out a way to achieve it.

You can't stand out in the hallway for long, you need to just bite the bullet and enter boldly into the room itself.

In full view of everyone and the security camera....

This is so contrary to your previous experiences of sneaking that it takes a few seconds to really commit to doing it. Generally, you tend to go full sneak mode and make sure that people never see you at all. Here you're hoodwinking all of them by pretending to be someone else and just doing things right in the open.

It's unnatural in your opinion.

At that thought, you chuckle to yourself. It's silly, the fact you can't sneak the way you prefer is more unnatural than going in to cut away an energy sucking flower thing.

You pull on plastic gloves from the cleaning cart, then grab more wipes and disinfectant spray to complete the deception. It was time to go in and get to work, that flower wasn't going to cut itself off. Not a person in the hall turns a hair to pay attention as you enter and close the door behind you.

The room is alive with sound while its patient lies silent as the dead. The shallow whooshing sound of air passing through a valve, the steady and unending beep of the machines and the strange buzzing sound from monitors is the only evidence of activity in the room. There are so many machines and monitors; they are all showing blips, numbers and wavy lines that you cannot even begin to understand.

One thing you do understand though, is that you must not disconnect or cut the wires and sensors attached to the patient or else something bad will happen. Easier said than done, so many snake around her body and the I.V. lines are equally profuse.

Outside the window of the room, nurses and doctors pass by in the hallway while you pretend wipe the sides of the bed. You manage to place the stone on top of a monitor to allow its light to shine upon Ms. Ono and keep your hands free. The stone reveals the invisible flower choking the life out of its victim with long thick vines. In fact, this flower is far bigger than the ones you had cut off earlier. Had it grown because it was feeding off its victim? The blooming flower is mesmerizingly beautiful and alive to the point of unreality, particularly in contrast to the husk of its host.

The vines are thick and intertwined with the I.V. tubes and sensor wires. You lean over the other woman to work out the tangle and mentally plan your first cut when you make a surprising discovery about Ms. Ono. She's actually far younger than you thought. This girl was someone who ought to be around your age, but the greyness of the skin and wrinkles on her face made her look unnaturally old and frail.

'SQUAWK!' A warning from Azul is loud and clear over your link.

You lean back immediately and pretend to clean as you communicate with your partner to figure out his warning.

'What's wrong?' A stupid question to ask when your partner isn't able to form words to explain himself. You can't even ask for images given the risk of getting backlash that would incapacitate you with pain. But your other questions are equally fruitless in figuring out what Azul is trying to warn you about. You go down a list of questions and discover his warning isn't about a doctor, a nurse, a security guard or another cleaner. The vague impression you get from Azul is that you need to cut quickly and get out soon.

You hold a long clean wipe in the same hand as you hold your knife. With a quick flip the wipe can cover the hand and knife so that from the outsider's point of view it looks like you're holding a piece of cloth instead. It should be enough to fool someone looking in through the window. The cutting process is far slower than you expected because of the unusual thickness of the vines.

Another issue is that are no obstructions by the windows. You realize it's by design so that anyone can look in and see the monitors of the patient. All that means to you is that it makes this job that much harder because occasionally a nurse does look in and you have to look busy wiping the side of the bed vigorously.

Another warning squawk from Azul and the sensation that he is abandoning his monitoring position in the security office and moving towards you. The danger he had been trying to warn you about must be getting nearer even though you still aren't sure what it is. You try focus on the last vine that needs to be cut.

'Come on, come on, just this last one!' You can't help but sweat from the stress. This entire time has been one of constant delicate manoeuvring of your blade to avoid nicking the wires and I.V.s tangled with the flower tendrils. When at long last you cut the final vine, the flower shivers as it loses its last energy sucking tether attached to its victim.

The monitors begin beeping a little faster and the breathing of Ms. Ono becomes less laborious. You observe that the skin color looks less grey too. All in all, good news.

Bad news was the flower. It doesn't shrivel away into dust like the others did. Instead, it remains sitting on Ms. Ono's chest and waits to be picked up.

Was that supposed to happen? What are you supposed to do? You aren't going to take it with you!

You slash at the flower with your knife to destroy it. It seemed to be a safest choice, and your knife makes short work of the supernatural flower. Enough cuts and slashes causes it to fall apart into grey dust, just like the smaller flowers that you cut off earlier.

With the work done, it was time to escape. You gather up your items, swiftly exit the room and start pushing your cleaning cart away at a walking pace. It takes all your strength of will not to run.

'I'm done Azul, heading out right now!' You message your partner who chirps back. Through your link, you know he is moving as fast as possible to reach you. It is a mystery what he is trying to warn you about. There's no time to puzzle over it too long though. You feel the hairs of your neck start to rise and goosebumps form on your skin. Something is behind you, glaring at your back and you can hear it's footsteps following after you.

Could this be what Azul was trying to warn you about. A chill of fear pierces you through but you don't dare turn around. Instead, you continue to push the cleaning cart onwards. When you turn the next corner, you'll try to find a place to hide and avoid whatever it was that was following you.

Turning the corner only cements how bad your situation is. Ahead is a grim looking security guard with an athletic looking nurse by his side walking towards you down the hall. If you do something suspicious like hide, you'll be questioned. All you can do is continue to walk and push the cleaning cart.

The thing now turns the corner to continue its pursuit of you. The sensation of its gaze on you is ample warning it isn't giving up.

"Hey you! Stop!" The security guard calls out suddenly.

What will you do?

>Pretend you're confused but keep calm and keep walking, sneak you mirror out and discretely see what is behind you...

You can't stop moving. If you do, the thing following will catch you. That cannot happen and it won't! Fear causes your senses to become keener than usual. The squeaks of the cleaning cart wheels grate in your ears, the plastic handle gripped in your hand is unnaturally warm and the smell of disinfectant is borderline intolerable. Each thudding step you take is too slow and ponderous for your liking, if only you could just run.

The guard and the nurse frown. It must be because of your recalcitrant refusal to stop. You feign
a look of confusion and innocence while walking onwards. The opposing duo walks towards you at a faster pace. As they approach, you realize that they aren't looking directly at you at all. They are looking past you and behind you.

At the thing that's following.

"I said stop right there! I need to see your identification nurse!" The guard sternly issues his commands once more. The duo rush past you, as they do so you fish out your mirror from your pouch and place it discretely on your cart to see what's happening behind you. It is a perfect rear view; the reflection shows a short and startled young woman in a white nurse uniform. You know she's a spook because you realize through being observant that you cannot determine her true features. Details of her hair, eyes, height and more slips from your mind the moment you try to commit to memory. You also must be developing some sort of sixth sense, that 'thing' was intent on hunting you down, you felt it in your gut.

"WHAT?!" An outraged cry issues forth from the 'nurse' as she is accosted. It is music to your ears and the tension in your body dribbles out a bit. An opportunity to escape! You take it, and keep pushing the cart.

"Please present your hospital authorization and identification," the athletic nurse blocks the fake nurse's escape.

The fake nurse scowls and digs into her pocket to present a plastic card. The guard and nurse is surprised at the presentation of proper proof of identity... but the athletic nurse grabs the card, then glares at the hard plastic card with irritation.

"I have no recollection of a colleague named Bibigawa Ai assigned to the ICU," the nurse thrusts back the identification card at the fake nurse who sputters.

"I was recently hired! Of course you never seen me before," the fake nurse protests. The spooky monster tries to sidle around the guard and nurse to go after you but is stopped by the duo. You are endlessly amused by the trouble the 'thing' is having. A perfect disguise, it looks completely human. You can only hope it doesn't attack the nurse and guard blocking her way. That monster must be some sort of spy keeping on an eye on the 9 victims of the flower and not a combatant.

"Is that so? Then answer my question. What is the normal resting heart rate for an adult?" The suspicious nurse interrogates the 'thing'.

The fake nurse sputters and directs a dramatic finger point at you.

"Well, what about that fake cleaning lady! As they say two fakes, one crime."

The guard turns to look at you and seems ready to call out for you to stop.

'That bitch!' You howl mentally with fury. You grind your teeth, the exit from the ICU is just a few more steps away. Once you get past that, you sneak into a room to get changed and escape. Azul is waiting close by too! But that monster just had to ruin your exit strategy.

"You there!" The guard calls out.

A pleased and evil smile forms on your face, a song in your heart sings to cause further trouble to this spooky unnatural monster. It is what this creature deserves and you're willing to dish it out. You summon a ball of water just above the head of the monster unseen by all, it is faster and simpler than forming your 'hands' with water. It condenses swiftly into a hefty size and then you let gravity do it's magic. You let the water drop on its head.

*SPLASH*

"AAAAAAHHHHH!" It unleashes an unexpectedly girly scream, the guard and nurse is startled by the sudden appearance of water being dumped on the head of their strange fake nurse. A perfect distraction and revenge! It warms the cold black cockles of your heart.

When you exit, you see that Azul is waiting at an open door he has propped open. You speed up and enter the room while Azul closes the door. It was time to exfiltrate and get the hell out of the hospital! You tear off the blue scrubs and mask.

"Thanks buddy! Let's blow this joint before that weird monster decides to kill us for cutting off those weird flowers." You give Azul a quick high five. Before exiting your room, you use your mirror to check to see if the hallway is clear or not. The place is in chaos, a number of guards and healthcare professionals are chasing after the frantic fake nurse who is wailing in frustration.

Could it be the fake nurse isn't a monster? She isn't attacking anyone and is just running away. In any case, you realize you can slip out of your room because everyone is so distracted trying to capture their strange intruder. You make your escape with your avian partner without anyone noticing.

You reach the lobby of the hospital safely.

"Oh wow, I'm tired..." You rub the back of your neck and realize how sweaty and exhausted you are. The constant stress of this mission is nothing you've ever experienced before. Was this going to be a regular thing?!

"Kuu..." Your penguin agrees, his chirp is weary but satisfied.

You're out of the hospital at last. It was time to go home.

But on the way home, you...

You consider going straight home but wearily realize that there's another thing you want to check out before that.

FM 10 Radio Station is supposed to be located in Juuban and is where Midnight Zero is supposedly broadcasted from. Given that those unnatural flowers are rewards from the radio program, you should go and try to find where the radio station is. It might be necessary for you to infiltrate the place in the future.

"No rest for the wicked partner, we got one more place to investigate. Then we go home, I promise." You heave a tired sigh and force yourself to go to a corner store to take a look at a newspaper. Luckily for you, it was common to do 'tachiyomi' or 'stand and read' through magazines and newspapers with impunity and without paying. You get today's newspaper and turn to the radio broadcast schedule to find FM 10 Radio station. In small print by the schedule, you see the address of the place.

It is far closer than you thought. Azul tugs at your pant leg insistently to get your attention. Though surprised, you look down and see he is pointing at a magazine of some sort. You kneel down to look at what he's pointing at...

It's another edition of 'Bound and Tortured' magazine, the front cover has a picture of a beautiful woman fully dressed in kimono with red ropes tied around her in an intricate pattern... You suddenly remember that the magazines called it 'shibari' and start blushing.

You then give Azul a stony look before saying anything.

"No."

The bird gives a disappointed and wistful chirp at your refusal.

It takes less than five minutes of walking to get to your destination. FM 10 Radio station is a medium sized operation. It has a wall, gate with a guardhouse, some cameras and a single security guard at the entrance. All in all, a standard security set up with the appropriate deterrents to prevent unauthorized personnel.

You have an invisible penguin as your partner and he is more than a match.

If you can get Azul to scout out the place on your behalf like he did at the hospital then it should be a piece of cake. The security guard shouldn't be much of a problem, you can make a distraction or even climb over the wall. Aya can even provide you information given that her parents have done work at the radio station.

You do a single circuit around the perimeter of the place to take note of camera locations and other features. As you complete your revolution around the building and turn a corner, and realize that at the entrance of the radio station is Usagi and Luna. You warn your partner Azul who scampers off to hide since the duo can see through his usual invisibility.

You listen in on the conversation between the guard and Usagi with interest.

"But this is FM number 10 right?!" Usagi's voice is full of confusion as the guard answers back.

"That's right, but we don't do a program called 'Midnight Zero'." The guard sounds weary, as though he answered this particular question a hundred times before.

"WHAAAT?" The disbelief in Usagi's voice matches your own feeling. Midnight Zero definitely is broadcasted on FM 10, virtually all the girl's of your class said so and listened in.

"Move along kid, and go home." The guard pushes Usagi to leave.

You see Usagi baffled as she walks away. You hid behind the corner of the wall and let her pass by. Luna follows faithfully and without complaint. You tamp down your temptation to grab the cat and start petting her, thus breaking your cover. Tonight wasn't the night to start explaining to other people why you're out so late.

In fact, you need to start heading home. If your father had to work late again, he should be getting home around this time. Heck, he might actually be home and waiting for you right now since the school called him about collapsing.

You double back to Juuban shopping district to get home. It's been a long day and quite frankly you can't wait to eat dinner with your father, take a bath and go to bed. The walk back through the busy Juuban shopping district is interrupted when you hear a particularly loud rant near one of Juuban's statue.
"DAMN IT! My plan was full proof Artemis! You heard me! FULL PROOF!" The blonde haired girl shouts into the sky like a defeated warrior cursing the heavens for their rank betrayal against them. Her fists are raised in the air and shaken with vigor equal to her frustration. The white cat seems utterly defeated and simply let's its head droop with exasperation as though this particular girl had been speaking at him for awhile. Azul bristles at the sight of the cat and runs away before you can stop him.

One day, you're going to have to train your partner to tolerate cats. But more importantly, you can't help but correct the other girl. The words are out of your mouth before you can stop yourself.

"You mean... fool proof... right?" You slap your hand over your mouth but it's too late.

There are very few things you regret in life. This might be one of them. The way that girl looks at you as though you gifted her enlightenment from the furthest reaches of blasted heath of ignorance. Then she dramatically slumps with depression. The depression lasts barely a few second as she perks up. A recovery happens within a blink of an eye. This girl... is so changeable.

The school uniform she is wearing is not familiar to you. In addition, her white cat is oddly similar to Luna. You stare at his crescent shaped bald spot on his forehead. What were the odds of a cat having the same sort of feature as distinct as that?

"Oh my, are you interested in Artemis? You can stare at him all you want but I, the beautiful maiden of this night, should command your full attention!" The other girl dramatically poses to catch your attention in vain.

"I think I like cats more than people." There was something about this girl that gives you a funny feeling.

What is this feeling...?

>It's familiar... Oh god, she's like Aya when she's over dramatic....
>I think I know this feeling... I... I hate her...
>... Okay, this is new... you're nervous around her, your stomach is doing flip flops...
>You're uncomfortable, there's something weird about her...

Whoa ouchie... Uh, today's post will be delayed. But we've voted to have the familiar and unfamiliar roil Ruka as she has something akin to a confused boner.
>>

Yeah confused boner sounds about right
Also Crescent, what does Ruka look like? I mean I know she has a scar and is basically a 90's muscle-girl but what color is her hair or eyes? I've been trying to visualize her in my mind but small details like that makes it hard at times.

I should probably give a quick description then of our main character. I left her mostly blank in case players wanted to imagine what the character looks like to their own preference.

Basically looks like the girl to the right. She has the sukeban look despite wearing her uniform properly due to her scowly face. She doesn't mean to but smiling sometimes gives people the wrong impression.

Hair is black and tied back into a pony tail. Eyes are blue. She's also lightly tanned from spending summers at her paternal grandparents place. Height is 5'5" which makes her presently the tallest girl in the school (but eventually Makoto will come along and dethrone her, she'll be overjoyed to find a girl that's actually taller than her even if it's just one inch). Extremely athletic and sneaky but average when it comes to smarts as per the decisions made at the very first thread to shape her. Her ability in her chosen skills are borderline supernatural which never occurs to Ruka because she finds it super easy to do. Most people would fail in her audacious sneaking about but her bonuses and bonus dice ability lets her succeed.

Also really really hates scary stuff like horror movies and nightmarish supernatural stuff but has enough courage to push through it despite being terrified. Which causes observers a bit of a double take since she looks like a stereotypical sukeban and doesn't seem like the sort to be afraid of anything. Usagi is overjoyed to discover that Ruka might look brave but would rather just run away from danger.

Mother is Shioyama Honoka, nee Houseki, who used to be a scientist but has gone off to join the Sun of Heavenly Truth cult during our character's childhood. A peculiarly spiritual woman, had lots of end of the world millennial beliefs that are absurdly common during the 90s in Japan because of the upcoming turn of the century. The divorce proceedings were acrimonious, Ruka got a lot of training in hiding, sneaking and being overly alert because Japan's divorce laws and legal norms in regards to parental custody of children.

Father is Houseki Daisuke, presently an accountant for Ministry of land infrastructure transport and tourism, or MLIT), formerly with the National Public Safety Commission until transferred for unknown reasons to his current position. Overworked and in debt but he's squeaking by thanks to his in-laws assistance and his parents.

Also about tonight's delay.

As most of you know, Canada is in the midst of a country wide anti vaccine/mandate/covid protest.

It is roiling and tearing apart a lot of Canadians who cannot agree to disagree. Including my own social group and has occasioned angry words and actual fisticuffs.

Which is why I wrote 'ouchie' because, uh, let's just say everyone is acting as if we're on the ice and playing hockey... but everyone is an enforcer and trading blows both physical and verbal. Lots of high stick penalties and such but no 2 minute penalty box time to cool heads.

I retract the 'as most of you know'.... it turns out that there's not much news in the USA or too much detail elsewhere in the world about what's happening in Canada and I assume that most of the players are from elsewhere.

If I suddenly disappear from the thread without making a post tomorrow, it's because of the added stress of dealing with conspiracy theory loving relatives and friends. Amongst other issues...

Thanks to Imgur I knew about the so called "Freedom convoy" and that the police didn't do much, but I figured it would be over already. Anyway good luck

Okay, let's hope I can write a post tonight! We got confusion boner Ruka and possible hint of gay panic in our otherwise usually aromantic 14 year old girl.
>>
Hm, let us try again in a new thread. Things are intense still but getting hopefully calmer. Cooler heads will prevail in my country, I hope.

I'm going to set the next thread some time in 2 weeks for my end of the world to settle down. Reading up on a bunch of protestors that want to end Canadian democracy to get rid of vaccine mandates and restrictions is... insane.

In addition to dealing with people.

See you then, Crescent. Hope things calm down over there, and hope you feel better soon!
>>
I confess that I ain't feeling it for a new thread due to what's happening to Ukraine.... Let's try again March 1.

Understandable boss, hope you're feeling alright

I'm glued to the news each and every day.

I definitely know that one of my former university classmates is dead. no contact since feb 24.

One Russian classmate states he's fighting and had fucking idea he was going to be Ukraine according to his mom.

Several internet acquaintances in Canada have picked up and gone to Ukraine to fight and are scrambling to get over the Polish borders. I thought they were joking when they asked for some money to buy a plane ticket.... Until I saw their selfies with guns in hand with Ukrainians.

For now, this quest is on hiatus. Not in the right mental space for fluffy side character Sailor moon questing.
