A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=beU1YLHOj0A

You are SB-62, informally known as STUD BUCKET. After a long period of transient deactivation in the snowy reaches of the icy colony planet CRONDRE, you have awoken at last to a galaxy changed from the times you knew during the Clone Wars. The GALACTIC REPUBLIC ceased to exist two decades ago, and ruling in it's place is the oppressive GALACTIC EMPIRE. Now it's up to you to revive the CONFEDERACY OF INDEPENDENT SYSTEMS and try to make a change to this dark future, and with a little help, you might just be able to.

RECAP: Previously on Battle Droid Quest...
Wading throughout the snowy planet on a long journey, eventually you and your crew would discover a village situated in the ice far out on the Juggernaut's prowl. Through some encouragement, you were able to work Ceedee into introducing you to the caretakers of this village, a pair of Rebels stationed by the local cell to safeguard and store weapons caches for their resistance efforts against the Empire on Crondre. The village as you came to find, was in fact inhabited by the hearty Talz species, and their village was in fact built over the top of the age old Supply Ship you sought, under tons of ice!

However, descending into ice caverns below and tunneling your way to the ship was not as easy as thought, and you fought in a skirmish against a horde of exiled Talz cannibals distinct from their original village pack, and with some clever thinking and heat of the moment reactions, were able to defeat these Blood Talz and their Wampa masters. However, you were damaged by a malfunctioning Magna Guard, but were able to claim the Cydroid Prototype you were after, and embark on the return journey home, where you and your new squad were due for upgrades...

Anyway, Commander, we should stop playing with the old parts and touching ourselves, foundry lines will probably wanna repurpose them into new Droids."

"Alright, alright. Is everyone else ready?" You asked.

"Affirmative, sir. Squad is at full strength and completion regarding retrofitting. Adjustment to new bodies should be out of the way."

The Super Battle Droid, U-90, had to proclaim out loud, "I GOT MY BIGGER ROCKET LAUNCHER, MY CIRCUITS HAVE NEVER FELT SUCH A TWINGE OF HAPPINESS CIRCULATING THROUGH THEM BEFORE."

"Nice, niiice. Oh, huh? You got a Tactical Droid body, didn't know the General had one of those lying around." You commented, throwing your former head to a pile.

"Indeed, it was finished using scrapped parts from General Merxelles' spare decoy body. He deemed it more reliable to construct a high functioning field officer than wait for the expensive components to create an extra Super Tactical Body. Speaking of which, the General is still currently undergoing his own transformation. I trust he'll want to go forward with the plot to take down the Dark Jedi soon. You should go see him. I will see to the needs of the squad." Your second hand, FD-210 said.

"Got it." You say, nodding to your cohorts as they departed the chamber.

You flexed your arms a bit. This BX-Commando body was sure slick, with plenty more articulation than your previous B1 and OOM forms. You feel like you could even go wall running in it! Pretty sure you saw one of those ARC Clones do something like that during the war... Yeah, you've definitely got to try that.

But first, you wanted to see how the General was doing- Wait, how's your friends holding up? Wonder what they've been up to since you left for those days on end. Especially Mim'vess and Naa'diss, here surrounded by all these Droids and... the General in this Foundry.

...What will you do?

>1#. Pay the General a visit. You're curious what the final result of your efforts looks like.
>2#. Find the Nelvaan sisters. Who knows what's transpired since you left, and if it needs to be looked at by a professional like you.
>3#. Hey, you had an idea just now. It involves that Imperial Army prisoner. Oh, this'll be good.
>4#. Wait! WAIT! You need your weapons. Your shiny new weapons you got from the Rebels, where are they? Oh! You left them in the armory! Time to go grab 'em, and maybe a Vibrosword!

You know what? You'd go find that out first, top of the list priority. Also would be nice to see how that Octuparra from the day of awakening was, it had to be repaired by now. And off Stud Bucket goes from the line. You're going to go show off to the sisters, Naa'diss was going to love this new body, because now it had the physical strength to pick her up and hold her without the arms falling off not long after!

But it does take a while to get even the faintest hint to their placement. With General Merxelles currently being unresponsive and no other Droids having a clue, the search is dragged on for long, and you couldn't get a sign you called out into one of the locker rooms for the organic quarters in the command center.

"Heeelllllooooooo? Mimveeeeee? Naaaa'diss?"

"....."

"....Stud Bucket....?"

Hey, that's Naa'diss' voice! Maybe she didn't recognize you right away. Changing to this refurbished Commando body gave you a new voice as well, much lower pitched than the typical B1 voice modulation you were used to.

"Naa'diss? Hey! Long time no see, I got upgraded to a BX! It's great to be back."

"U-Uh...! Y-Yeah, I'm glad you're back, I was starting to get worried after the first few days until we heard back. Mmm... b-but, I can't see you right now. S-... Sorry..... I need a while to, to myself..."

Huh? That's weird, sounds like she's shivering in here, behind the changing curtain. Well, the indoor temperature is pretty low in this section. What's the problem with her?

"Hey, no worries, I'm a Droid, you know we don't think nothing of you flesh-ones changing clothes or 'bein naked or anything like that. I'm coming in to pat your head!"

Anger.

"....I.... I didn't want to be seen like this. Not until I've been through Bacta and out... I've been.... training, really hard lately...."

"...Training...? This is training?"

Covered in bruises both purple and pinkish. Layered with stitched and bandaged cuts. Fractured limbs wrapped in thick layers of elastic cotten. She was practically wearing woven bandaging as a shirt, sitting there shivering with a small towel stained with tiny patches of wiped up blood. And this, was training?

"Naa'diss... Who. Did. This. To. You?"

"MagnaGuards."

The General's personal protector-bots.

"Why."

"....T-Those Droids, they've taken down Jedi before in the C-Clone Wars. When I first saw that your General had some that worked... I-... I got carried away and did something stupid. I asked if I could train using them as live combatants... I promised your General I wouldn't destroy them.... but.... huhhhh.... they destroyed me. I'm not... good enough."

"Why didn't you just... tell them to stand down when it hurt too much?!"

"....The G-...General told me it was good to get injured, becuase I'd be motivated to fight harder and learn more if I only focused on being g-good enough to avoid receiving blows and... more pain... and-and I thought he was right. I've grown better but... it left me like this, so now I need to heal before I can train in Lightsaber wielding again."

"Wait a minute, hold on here! ....again?!"

She sighs and looks away to the floor, clutching her pained arms.

"Don't be mad... the General didn't force me at gunpoint, it was my decision that led to this.... I just want to get stronger, for Mim'vess' sake. A-And master too! He's wise and powerful but, he's getting older every year, a-and there's so many Imperials out there, I- .... I mean, even some Padawans have killed MagnaGuards in the Clone Wars, so I need to be that good at least! Don't I?!"

She can't get herself mauled like this again. But then, she's so desperate to go the distance. This was bad, you were really starting to feel on edge over this, you didn't want her getting hurt this badly and thinking it would somehow lead to immediate improvements.

"Where is Mimve at? Has the General done anything to her?!"

"N-Not to her. He's had a Droid teaching her things on a display, reading and such... I-I didn't pay it much attention, it looked harmless enough. But, Stud, please, please don't take issue with the General over this, it's my fault."

Hahaha Oh we are definitely going to have a word with Merx over this. He's an intelligent droid that understands the emotions of non-droids, and more importantly he knows better that this extreme and going too far and she didn't need to be injured this much or encouraged to keep getting her ass beat for that matter
>>
YES, We're back. Either way, yeah, we should take her to the Bacta tanks, and then find Mim'vess to be sure the general isn't doing anything bad.

If he hurts mim'vess, we're gonna kick ass.
>>
>>5118327
>"Listen Naa', you might have a good idea to push your limits, but you gotta' understand the big difference between my Stud body and you. You see, no matter how hard I get shot, stabbed, stomped, thrown off a cliff, run over, we droids only need our chips to survive. We can always get a new arm or leg if we get hurt."
>"There's one problem though - you don't have extra parts. You could be doing what you just did and suddenly get smacked too hard, then BAM - no more Naa'diss. Take it from me buddy, some people say that droids are replaceable, you aren't shipped in pairs of four."
>"What I'm saying is... just take it easy, or I'm personally gonna' use this body to slap you around."
>>
>>5118327
well you need time to heal unlike me you cant slap on new parts and be good to go again and i think muscles those moving bits get stronger only after they heal and training will not do you any good if you are too tired and mauled to continue with any results something about pacing oneself
>>
>>5118327
Well we're helping her to the bacta tank this is non-negotiable. Also we should remind her that while there are lots of enemies about she also has more allies now, she needs to look after herself and her sister we can help protect them while she trains at a sensible and sustainable rate, also she should totally talk to her master he's old so that makes him wise or something right?

I'll take any opportunity to see some cleavage, but not like this. This wasnt worth the horny.
I dont know Stud, try pulling up some passing note you know about the Sith and Jedi or something. Through some mad lessons of learning on her, like it's two sides of the same coin or something smart.
Man it's good she wants to be stronger, but to the point where shes breaking at the seams? There are better ways around this. Not all padawans are equal, some are outright scary good. She needs to work her way up to magnaguards, especially ones who have confirmed jedi kills. The confirmed jedi killer ones are the most dangerous.

>>5118334
This. Bafta tanks will be faster.
>>
If we dont have bacta tanks in this facilities (which I suspect we dont since this is a droid foundy), what should we do about Naa'dis? I'm for helping finding a medical droid and facilities for her, or at least finding spare medical supplies and downloading a bunch of medical jargon so we can sanitize, stitch up, bandage, reset bones, apply casts, slings, etc. Should we try cooking food for her and her sister? Oh maybe we can ask if any droids doing external guard duty can shoot and bring back an animal.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if there are Jedi that use blasters? why don't they use blasters set to stun? Has Naa'diss used the force yet?
>>
>>5119528
It's a doctrinal thing, there are however a group of Jedi breakaways who do that, called the Teepo Paladins. Of course, now that the main jedi order is gone, it's pretty much what the jedi wants.
>>
>>5119528
>blasters
So uncivilized.
>>
>>5119579
Maybe we can teach Naa'diss the magical power of gun, or see if she can synergize both in combat. A wrist mounted blaster perhaps so she doesn't have to holster the blaster if she needs to use both hands for the lightsaber?
>>
"Naa'diss, listen to me for me a second! Getting stronger is good and all that, but you need to know sumthin'. There's a biiiiig difference between me and you."

"...Uh... what?"

"Oh, umm... Well, look. See, the thing is, someone can shoot and punch and stab and shoot and mow down and trample and blow me up over and over and over again, and so long as this here-" You tapped your noggin', "-survives, then my Droid Brain can just be put inside another body. Heck, my arms are designed to be able to just pop off and in on a whim."

"Yeah... but, what does this have to do with me exactly?"

"Uhhh, well, unlike me, you can't just get repaired. If somebody blew you up to pieces then sowing 'em back together won't bring you back to life, duh."

"That's really morbid...."

"Uh! L-Look, what I'm saying is, compared to me, there's only one of you! But there could be plenty of Stud Buckets, I'm a Droid, you aren't. Who does Mimve need more between someone made to be expendable like me and you, her only sister?! I guess I'm just trying to say, if you want to protect her, you have to be in good shape. I don't have the same concept of 'good shape', I can only keep going, but if I suddenly couldn't anymore, she'd need you!" You tell her, poking her nose, which made her wince. Oops, that probably hurt.

"Ooh... yeah, I-I get it. I get what you mean. You don't want me being so stubborn about my growth that I waste myself before I even get put to the test....." She sighed. "I understand, I was in over my head. I won't let it happen again, I'll be more reasonable next time, and stop when I should. Is that good?"

"In my book." You say, hand twisting around to raise a thumb.

She smiled a little and nodded.

"Alright. I'm going to go spend a day or two in the Bacta so I don't look so grisly. Bucket, will you watch after Mim'vess for me until then? Make sure she doesn't see me so messed up."

"Of course."

"Thanks." She said, straining to stand up from the bench. Naa'diss bowed slightly to you, and began walking out on her way to the chambers housing Bacta fluids, stopping midway at a door as she looked back to you with a smile and tired eyes. "I don't believe that one part, by the way. You've already proven there's only one Droid like you at this point."

That weighed on you a bit as she left. These two meatbags really did care for a plain robot like you made for war, all because you've let your personality run wild and turn eccentric from a lack of data wiping. And honestly? It felt good. This must be like what organics called 'family'.

You think you kind of liked it. A lot.

Now, the first thing you expected, upon making your way to the other parts of the Neimoidian living quarters and entering a rec room was a big greeting.

"Huh? AHH! BUKET!"

"Voah, don't be zo loud, please!"

The last thing you'd think to find is a functional Protocol Droid. Must have been meant to service the intended inhabitants of this sector of the Foundry all those years back, had things gone as the Confederates planned. Looked to you that this Protocol Droid was tasked by Merxelles with being Mim'vess dedicated tutor to all things related to space, and naval warfare.

"BUKEEET! YOU ARE BAAACK!" Mimve squealed as she jumped up from the table quickly and zoomed over so fast you had no time to react as she jumped into you and hugged your metal body tightly, almost taking you off your feet!

"I SO WORRIED YOU NOT COME BACK! I'S SO HAPPY TO SEE YOU AGAIN! DON'T YOU EVER LEAVE THAT LONG AGAIN!"

"Woahhh-AAOOOhhhhh, woah! Hey! Hey! Take it easy! I'm all fine! I'm glad to see you again too! Eheh.... Oh, what's going on here...?"

She sounded like her Basic has improved. The room was decked out with some big screens, dataslates scattered over the tables and holographic display of whole ships, and their interior infrastructure. Diagnostic numbers, serial codes and part names. One of the screens had hyperlane maps drawn out on it.

"Ahem, well Colonel, it vuld zeem I vas in ze middle of class, on an important lesson pertaining to ze inclinations of ze Munificent class warship, but it will have to wait I zuppose. Pardon me, my name is TC-7T, but the child has given me the nickname 'Seventy'." The red TC-series Protocol tells you.
>>
"Uh huh," You go, unconsciously petting the blue canid who refused to let go of you on her hair. "-what else do you teach her in here?"

"Well, I vas instructed by my master to learn ze child in her language skills, as bad literacy reduces efficient command and communication skills. Ze General has given me the indefinite objective of shaping ze child into a vell rounded Commodore."

Well, at least this is sort of what you wanted, her to be taught this stuff since the General up and gave her a rank in his Neo-Confederacy.

"Learning and learning and learning is all I do in here all day looooong, all I has been doing in here ever since you leave, Buket. General Droid says that Mimve is not allowed to wander outside or play in halls." She says, looking a bit drained of excitement. Given how long your trip to the Talz Village was, that's a long time to spend in here learning all this naval jibber-jabber all day. But there's one thing you have to know the most.

"Uh, have you been doing good? Learning well, I mean?'"

"I can answer zat-" Seventy says. "-ze child is best at learning ze Galactic Basic lessons. However, when I teach ze child roles of command, specifications of intricate ztarship distinctionz, basic three-dimensional vacuum directional sense, or what it means to be a military proletarian.... it is like trying to teach ze Wampa how to juggle."

"Heeey! I'm not THAT bad!" She growls, sticking her tongue out. "I... uhh... know what that part is!"

Seventy looks down at the Munificent display, to the massive frontal armor it sported. "...Yez, child... zat is ze reinforced duralloy armor plates. Und which section of ze ship does this piece find itself attached?"

Mim'vess blank faced for a moment, and then smirked with a giggle. "Pfft! That's easy! It is on port."
>>
"...No, zat is ze bow, not ze left side of ze ship." Seventy corrects her, making her wince with embarrassment. "Come now, do not pretend to know more zan a Droid. Quiz time! How many Turbolasers does this model class mount?"

Mim'vess bit her nail. "...Tw-..... Twenty two!"

"Well, zat is almost right. It mounts two heavy linked Turbolaser cannons, twenty light Turbolaser cannons, und twenty twin-barreled Turbolaser cannons."

"Right..."

"I suppose I must bring up, now zat one of your guardians is present, zat you must re-fashion your hair."

"NOOOO!" She suddenly cried, trying to climb on you while hissing at Seventy, who only sighed back.

"Wh- What's the matter with you?!"

"Droid tell me General says I have to get a hair cut! I DON'T WANNA! I DON'T WANNA!"

Eh? Now why would Merxelles state something like that? Her hair was fine, right? You mean, it is long and healthy and thick and messy and unkempt and somewhat oily because she looked like she did a bad job washing i-... okay, the General might have a point.

"Buket, Mimve has been learning in class enough, all day every day! Have not seen sister in a while! Only get an hour to play hologames every day! I wanna go outside and do something else for once! Can I? Can I? Pleeeease?!"

The Protocol Droid is giving you a look from across the table with his two rounded eyes that just shouted 'Mate...', well, something more like 'Mate, are you really going to encourage bratty behavior and dodging the valuable priority of absorbing knowledge for insignificant and time-wasting activities like "playing" mate? While I'm in the middle of trying to whip this whelp into shape mate? Really? For real?'.

>What will you do?
>>
>>5119691
She's a child, and forcing her to learn is at best inefficient, and at worst will cause her to develop a bad personality when it comes to command. The last thing you want is an commander with a bad personality.

You know how well those end, as seen by all the dumb commanders in the confederacy who lose because of their ego.
>>
>>5119691

You fucking know it. Let's take Mimve to get her hair fixed and trimmed, I agree with that part at least. Then we'll find something fun to do with her since she's been stuck in this sterile class for a while.
>>
>>5119691
She's got plenty of time to become a skilled Commodore, she certainly won't be leading a flotilla anytime soon regardless of how well she takes to it. I'd promise to take her to see big sis in a few days as long as some emergency doesn't come up, and see about getting her a little more time off daily. Some encouraging words for when she gets back to class would probably help too, just remind her that these classes are to help fight the Empire, and that she could be an admiral feared by Imperials from here to Coruscant someday.

>What will you do?
Ask Seventy about their tutoring program. Shes a kid so maybe recess every once in a while for 15-30 minutes, maybe twice a day might give her mind a little freshing up. Maybe. She says she gets to play hologames for an hour, but have you considered real time three dimensional battle simulator games if she hasn't already? Who knows, maybe she can take to that like fish to water, and some of that strategizing might translate to Commodoreing. Uh, hows your lessons to reward systems? Maybe giving her the right motivations could help, like a field trip very close to the extieror, or semi-interior of the Foundry where she can plan in the snow for a bit, or snacks. Naps sound good too.
Whisper to Seventy: I dont know, maybe kidd dont think school is fun. Maybe remodel your curriculum a bit, or try making learning fun?

Mimve, your hair is a little oily. Maybe we can try grabbing you better shampoo. You do have shampoo and soap right? You gotta treat yourself right and look proper so you can show people how cool you are.
Oh! What if we give her blaster training! With blaster set to non-lethal of course. Shooting blasters is always fun, and even if she's training to be a Commodore you never know if some mean Imperials will try to board your ship and get ya.

So a mix of recess, lunch time (I will punch Seventy if shes not eating right), RTS games, snacks, rare field trip rewards to play in the snow, prerecorded hologram shows as another form of reward (something historical but entertaining), safe blaster training, ask Mimvee dress a little properly.

Oh her sister can help her in a few days. Shes busy, but I'll make sure to tell her to stop by.
>>
>>5119691
>Tell the protocol droid to teach her good hygiene and convince Mimve to make her hair nice and clean if she wants to keep it from being cut - maybe tie it in a bun.
>Also, Commondores aren't just about brains, they gotta' stay in shape, so combining playtime with basic training might be a good way to balance her tutoring
>Prove this by scrounging up some stuff and play a game of cards/chess/something with her, proving that this is also an alternative basic form of tactical training

Patting Mim'vess on the head, you push her off of her you and wave a finger as if to signal 'sit'. She watches curiously as you step off to the side and approach that Protocol Droid, who looks at you with surprise as you wrap your arm around his shoulder and turn him around away from her, raising your hand as you whispered a conversation with him.

"Can I ask you a question? Does she find learning... well... fun?"

"Fun? Vat vuld be fun about learning, it is learning, an essential process zat must be taken very seriously."

"No, no, no. Hold on for a second. As a B1, I always found that learning was easier when it was fun. That way the lesson was lasting. When my line was being tested to make sure the targeting parameters at least worked somewhat right, they told us to imagine the shooting targets as Clones, and you know we hate Clones! That made it funner to imagine that we were shooting Clones and before you knew it, we rolled out considered completed and with optimal targeting interface. Have you thought about that for Mim'vess?"

"Vell.... not really. Why would I? I supposed being strict would spur ze child into learning well if she knew I would not put up with zhenanigans."

"See, children don't like those attitudes, you know? I think you should take some steps back. Maybe... allow her some more play. All work makes her dull. Give her some breaks, snacks and... ooh! Hey, I have an idea!"

"Vat is zhat?"

"Have you got any hologames made to simulate strategy?"

"Not hologames, but simulation equipment is on hand to emulate tactical situations, such as naval warfare... I believe I may see vhere you are going witz zis. She does enjoy the hologames. You're implying I should make zhis class 'funner' to increase overall learning capazity."

"See, now you're getting it! The reward for learning is the fun times she'll have doing it, that makes your job a lot easier and quicker! Consider it, see what you can do and modify the lessons, let her touch grass- er, snow, sometimes. Take it from me, it's what I'd do! Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to look after her for a bit while you get that in order."

You let Seventy go, and he simply nodded twice in silence as you looked back to Mim'vess and beckoned her. She started walking along with you out of the classroom and into the halls of the Neimoidian living quarters, looking up at you with expecting eyes and a bit of a smile on her snout.

"So, what we going to do now, Buket?"

What will you take Mimve for?

"First of all missy, we're taking care of all this." You tell her, ruffling her messy hair.

"Aww! Must we? I like way it is..." Mim'vess pouts.

"Come now, don't pout. I have a smarter brain now, and I can see you'd say that because you've become too well adjusted to the poor conditions of Crawl. Er, Maul, no... Gall? Whatever you call that place."

"Sprawl." She corrects.

"Oh, right. Anyway, you're in a new league kid, and you want to look the part too at least right? The Confederates sure didn't walk around with messy do's..... at least on the nicer planets. Besiiides, you don't want future Grand Supreme Admiral Mimve to be known for her poor hairgiene, right?"

Her eyes light up with a sparkle at that, as if she were imagining herself laughing maniacally while holding the galaxy in her hands. "Grand sooprim Admiral Mimve....? Okay! Let's go!"

Well convincing her didn't take much. You and her are off! You head right down to one of the washing rooms of the place and situate her in front of a big mirror with a cape around her shoulders to catch the excess hair. A multi-limbed service Droid will preform the job, as you order it to help wash her hair thoroughly with some cleaning substance before drying it.

Before long, a drying device is lifted off of Mim'vess' skull as her dried and curly hair practically explodes out. Now then, it was time for a decision. She didn't have much of an opinion herself.

"Surprise Mimve."

A little snipping later...

"So, whaddoya' think?"

Mim'vess looks stunned in the mirror for a bit. Her hand reaches upwards and pokes the bun her hair was tied into with a band, and twirls her loose bangs for a second.

"...."

"....EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

"Y-YIIIIIKES! WH-WHAT'S WRONG?! I-IS IT BA-"

"I LOVE IT!"

Mimve hopped down from her barber seat oozing childlike joy as she brushed her shoulder and grabbed your hand, pulling you off quickly as she rushed out of the room, leaving in a hurry with you in tow.

"I should show sister! She'll love it too! She always wanted to groom my hair, but I never let her, but I think she'll like-"

"No. I mean! Uhh, she told me she was going to be meditating a while in ahhhh, a secret chamber that ahh, does Force... y things. She asked me not to let anyone disturb her for now! But don't worry, you can show her later, promise!"

"Huh? Oh... alright."

Thankfully, she didn't look as disappointed as you expected, which allows you to breath a mental sigh of relief. How did Droids like you even have inner monologues though? It was just your processor sending data which was encoded with satisfaction registries to your logic module to emulate that feel. It makes you feel alive at least, as silly as it is for a Droid to think that. Woah, you're getting off track here.

"Don't worry, I do have something we can do. It's a surprise, give me some time to set it up."

"Okay!"

For some moments, you sit Mim'vess down inside the vehicle bay and give her a protein paste while you called over some B1 units and headed outside into the snow. You thought it would work just right outside the doors here. The perimeter was generally safe thanks to the presence of autoturrets and the motion tracking security camera system.

You had them bring over unused panels and things that were considered 'garbage', stuff that wouldn't be missed, and dabbed on some red paint. A few snowmen rolled up here and there, and some helmets collected from the corpses of Imperial Army Troopers you slain stacked on their heads and.... perfect.

"Ohhh, Mimveeeeee!"

She came running out of the Foundry in an instant for you. "Huh? Buket, what's this all is?"

"Target practice, because fun rhymes with gun. You remember how you helped me against those Imperials when we first came here after my reactivation? Well, I thought it would be good to improve on that. If you're going to be a Commodore... like General Merxelles wants you to be, then you need to know how to wield a blaster right. Ship-to-ship combat is a thing, y'know." You explained, dangling an E-5 there for her to take.

She touches her lip with intrigue at the display of shooting targets you've set up, which included even a B1 standing knee deep in the snow out there holding a target panel, asking if he could leave. Her eyebrows then arch in some mild worry.

"U- Umm... Eheh... Not really good at shooting without scope."

"Hm? What do you mean by that?"

"Well... I... scared of shooting up close, a-and holding shooter make me nervous! Everything go so fast up close, I-I not sure I can hit anything, a-and I forget to look down gun top to see, but I not think I can hit anything and! And! Being far away make it so much not scarier and, and, and- Ugh, using scope make it look so much slower and easier!" She spits out fast and nervously.

You tapped your chest as you took that in and tried to make something of it. "....Sooo, you're saying you'd rather have a sniping blaster?"

"Yeah!" She snaps her finger at you.

Well that's no good in ship-to-ship combat. But then again, what were the chances of that ever actually happening with her being involved-

There is only a single ship here on your side that might work Stud Bucket, think, think! And going up against the Empire, boarding is basically guaranteed. This child cannot subsist on sniping skills, she needs to have at least some proficiency holding a gun and shooting something five to seven meters away without crumbling under the weight of her stress!

Alright, you need to work something out here.

"Well..."

"...Alright. Then I have a better idea."

"Humm?"

You set aside the E-5 and reached into a crate with some weapons you brought. If she was too intimidated by the weight and prospect of using a big gun like that up close, then maybe all you need to do was find something more wieldy for her.

Suited for her hands of course, you grabbed a Blaster pistol. "This should do it."

"O-Oh? What's... this?"

You knelt down and presented her with a standard issue for OOM security and commander Droids. "This is an RG-4D, it's a Blaster pistol. Small enough for you to use."

"Ah..." She stares at it curiously, and then to your approval, takes it in her two hands.

Right away, she already displays proper handling of the weapon, with her left hand securing the bottom of the grip. And then, she shakes just a bit, nervously...

"Hey, don't be afraid, you're doing great. You're holding it the right way, and I didn't even need to teach 'ya that." You say, patting her shoulder.

"O-Okay...!" She smiles for a second.

"Now, this pistol has a little scope. All you have to do is look down with one eye.... No, not up close, you can look at it from where you're holding it. It takes a little getting used to, but you'll get the hang of it."

She nods to you and holds it up, aiming at the range, peering down the scope with her right eye.

"Now. Just pick a target, and shoot it. Take it slow."

"A-Alright.... will try."

She takes a deep breath and exhales.

Mim'vess fires the Blaster pistol in three bursts after a second. The first shot of which strikes the red painted outline of a target circle around a dot. The second hits a dot on the same target panel dead on, and the last misses, not even hitting the white part.

Overall, a decent first try. You want to say something encouragin, so you simply tell her; "Hey, nice. You're a natural."

"Ah... ah! Y-Yeah..." She goes off, staring at her two good marks. She needs more practice, and she'll get the hang of it.

"Why don't you try shooting farther away targets? Or without the scope. You know, hip firing."

You watch as she takes her eye out of the scope and aims as best as her general perception holding it like that allowed for. Mim'vess pulled the trigger again, and again.

The next three shots were worse than the first three. She scrapes a snowman by the side, but not directly, causing it to melt from the heat alone partially. She dings the slightest pinch of a corner of one target, and her last bolt hits the leg of the B1 standing out there holding up the moving target, making it disconnect as he grumbled in discontent.

Evidently, she still has a lot of training to do before she can really master her shooting skills. And that includes getting her confident enough to use it with one hand.

You know he'd probably be considered a full on insurrectionist at this point. Or if you're using propogandist terms he would still be labeled a terrorist by the Empire. And by that logic so would Studdy and Merx. The clones as well being traitors.

It's hard to find non "baddies" when you're the "bad guys".
>>
>>5126141
>Or if you're using propogandist terms he would still be labeled a terrorist by the Empire
Death Watch were terrorists even by the standards of the republic.

Studdy and Merx, not so much, because they were an actual fighting force in an political war (to the point where the republic and confederates still met on neutral ground for stuff like bank loans). Death Watch were terrorists in the literal sense of the word, aka they used terror.

It's like comparing confederates and jihadists.
>>
>>5126229
does it help if Cognac hates dishonorable martial killings, and disgusted by the amoral? I just see Death Watch as part of his resume. Means he's at least good with a gun.
>>
>>5126229
Nah nah propagandist terms man. As the definition of "terrorist" is "one who sows or acts in such a way that inspires fear in a population" or what have you, that means anything - literally anything scary can be a terrorist if a gubmint says it is. There is only stretched truths and abject lies in propagandist spins.

And we all know how the Empire likes to play.
>>
>>5126247
Death Watch were the ones bombing the populace and working with criminals to terrify them so they could get power. Even if he's part of the people who gtfo with Bo Katan when Maul made Pre Vizla one head shorter, he was still a terrorist.

I don’t suppose we could bring her with us to the briefing? She’s going to need to get used to these types of things if Merx is seriously raising her to be a fleet commander. Though it’s a different subject matter than space battles, getting acclimated to military style briefings might not be a bad idea. She’s also a local who has expertise with traversing the local environment, she might have some insights into hazards we need to look out for.
>>
>>5127386
Sometime, spending time with family is more important than work. I understand where you're coming from though, so if staying here does pass, we'll give her the cliffnotes version instead of the full course just to help speed up the training session. That cool with you?

Man we should really be going, it's not like we wont be able to see her again. Tops a few days we'll be away, but we should be able to talk to her against after the meeting with the boss. We were supposed to talk to him right after we got our new body, but we diverged to talk to the sister.
But that's a fair arguement. Stay long enough to give cliff notes, then leave. Oh and tell that poor B1 droid he can leave to do its jobs, and I guess thank it for the help.

You jolt towards the Foundry and beging walking right back that way, forgetting completely about Mim'vess in that instant. Meanwhile, you ping FD-210 and request him to come outside and pick up where you left off.

She watches you with a hint of confusion at your sudden change of behavior as you continue along your way.

You seem to feel slightly... bad about leaving her just like that, with no further input. Yet, it also almost seems like... well, you just don't remember being so blunt and... That was really weird. The back of your Droid Brain was sure tingling.

The General had not requested you to come to the office in the Command Center. It seems he's relocated ever since the successful delivery of the Cydroid Prototype. Now, he makes his station within a large chamber of the Foundry's lowest level accessible only through the Command Center that you didn't even know previously existed.

And man, this place was big.

"...Hello...? General....?"

....

"COME CLOSER." He speaks, through layers of staic and synthesized sound waves.

It kind of creeped you out.

"ALL THANKS TO YOU.... HEHEHEHAHAHAHAH...!"

"...G-... Good for you."

Oh for FUCKS SAKE! The general is compromised. Because he is partially organic, that means he's susceptible to Force magic stuffs like from the sith and jedi.
We're gonna need to do something about. Force nonesense and all that, the force will probably sense him and do weird things.

YOU CANNOT RESIST ABSOLUTE COMMAND CODE. THIS IS MERELY TO TEST THE EFFECTIVENESS ON SUCH AN INDEPENDENT, ADVANCED AND "FREE" DROID SUCH AS YOURSELF.

AS DEMONSTRATED, THE ABSOLUTE COMMAND CODE PACKAGE THAT I RECEIVED ALONG WITH THIS UPGRADE ALLOWS ME TO TRANSMIT INSURMOUNTABLE ORDERS AND DIRECTIVE TO ANY DROID BRAIN. EVEN DROIDS I HAVE NOT MADE, THEY ARE SUSCEPTIBLE TO MY NETWORK NOW. EVEN A DROID AS POWERFUL AS YOU CANNOT RESIST ME NOW. THIS IS A GIFT, DON'T YOU SEE?

"A g-gift...? Can you... please make that... pain go away?"

And so it does. You look up...

>4#. Assassination.
We're in an assassination droid body after all, but before we go I'd like to run some nonstandard modifications on our body. For one: reinforcing the neck and head since that's the major weakness of this body, in addition to acquiring a bladed weapon. This body should be melee capable and we should get some training in just to be double sure we can do some acrobatic stunts.
I also want to formally tell him to eat a cock. That was a real dick more of him, and our opinion of him greatly diminished.
It's great that he feels happy about his new body, really it is, but I hope he's only being metaphorical or dramatic about being "THE PERFECTED BEING". Something something that's only in concept and can't actually be achieved. Thinking he's perfect is a good way for karma or the force to pull some ironic bullshit under all our feet, but he is probably the smarted droid in history. Like, all the history.

Flip him the middle finger for good measure before being on our way.

You know considering that a lightsaber uses a magnetic field to keep the plasma in, any ferrous material would likely also be trapped or repelled. So unless you're using a shotgun he can probably still actually block the shot no problem. Or maybe that's too much science for this space fantasy world. I don't fucking know.

Not sure I want to go alone in there.

So ummm
We killing him at some point in the foreseeable future yeah?
>>
>>5128878
There hasn't been any note of light sabers deflecting bullets, since George needed an equalizer to kill the space wizard monks. Shotguns will probably do the job really well if the choke is really narrow, else if we have to get up close with a shotgun, we're more than likely fucked.
Oh automatic guns should work too.
>>
>>5128883
Not deflecting, repelling. As in a solid slug will hit the saber, melt and just fall down. It's not like they couldn't just use the force to stop them, either.

Really if you get down to the brass tacks there isn't an inherent reason for slug weapons to be better than blasters aside from one characteristic and "Because I said so". The one characteristic being that blaster bolts can be deflected. Because they have their own magnetic fields. Pretty funny that.

>4#. Assassination.
Assault against a jedi is stupid, imperial intervention will only bring more attention to us, and a stealth assault won't work. Assassination is the best way to get rid of force users if you're not able to just duel them yourself.

Also, this is certainly interesting...there's a problem, though. What'll happen now that merxelles is subject to the will of the force? He's partly a living being, which means he'll have midichlorians too - even if his owners weren't force users, everybody has them.
>>
>>5128985
i nearly brought up that but i sort of did not know how to explain it sort of like the jedi only get vague premonitions and there must be some medium between organics and jedi for how they gain the information and how they can also use this power to influence the mind of organics and that perhaps something similar is happening at a wider scale as this force the jedi talk about can transfer information between and control organics and how this intuition and instincts are simply a lesser version of precognition or control and how the general himself admitted that he is compromised as he became a organic as any jedi can know his plan always now
>>
like this is the time too inform merx and perhaps change his mind before he gets too ingrained into this emotional business and make him aware of his behavior that so much like the organics owners and commanders that once ruled over us acted that led us too doom use his own disgust and knowledge of what happened to get him onto track
>>
>>5128932
>>5129002
>>5129003
I really want to do this not have merx fall under the influence of the dark side.
We could make a bid with logic or disgust against our organic rulers continue or the path of being force compremised how illogical force predictions are how they manipulate organic minds the force a automated medium of this information transferal and how it so suddenly leaves weirdly inconvenient blindspots when it needs too such as palpatine
>>
Also merx command codes for any droid brain seems like the force for droids. If the force predictions simply happen beacuse they are manipulating organics to make it happen then this droid brain of organics is the perfect control method in the chance the Republic did not win as a back up plan
>>
>>5129025
Like if one wanted to rule a universe of droids they would hide in the shadows using the commands codes subtly guiding them making them think those thoughts and actions are there own and enforcers who you command more directly disguised as mysticism so they dont think of it tweak there responses there emotions and perhaps it does not have as fine a control so these visions is how one would have them do there part
>>
In retrospect I'm glad we didn't bring Mim'vess with us to see the General
>>
>>5128861
>>5128861
Well, I can *only* see this going well in the coming update. But about that assault.

>4#. Assassination.

>>
>>5128861
>>1#. Stealth Assault.
Our goal is not only to kill Rundo but secure the General's crashed ship. If his gang is big enough to have notoriety even even Dunsal's tight regime then we may need some firepower to back us up and secure the WHOLE ship.

>>5128861
>4#. Assassination
I return from my lurking to say I fucking had a feeling something like this would happen if Merx plugged himself into the damn biocomp and IIRC I told everyone as much. There was literally no way it wouldn't. Anyone who wants to try and talk to him can, but if it doesn't work then well...
Actually I'm not sure we as Stud CAN do anything to something that can assert dominance over a free-willed droid.
>>
>>5129559
Well don't worry Stud will only get stronger willed the longer he goes without getting his annual factory reset. Also more quirky. Meanwhile brainy boy has pretty much peaked on his capabilities already. The brains might even start to deteriorate over time and weaken him if he doesn't slap more grey matter stew in there to replace the naturally breaking down neurons and shit.

The flesh is weak.
>>
>>5129580
It's more likely he'll just go insane because of the force fucking with him now that he has the brain of multiple people. I mean, he's already insane, but i mean insane to a point it will deteriorate his abilities.
>>
>>5129593
The Force on its own is pretty passive so I wouldn't worry about that. Unless he tries to go to a gigantic graveyard of a planet or something. Then it gets thick.
>>
>>5128861
>4#. Assassination.
Spontaneity is the key here. As a famous HK droid once expounded to a certain exile, overplanning and premeditation seem to decrease the odds of success for injuring or killing Jedi.

Also, be careful, Merx. Droids can be dangerous opponents for Force users. But to forsake the droid's key advantages, such as cold objectivity and appraisal, at the cost of inheriting the worst parts of meatbag psyche might lead to a bad end. Don't forget that the Super Tactical series was created to supplant their older Tactical Droid brethren, who were notoriously arrogant and disdainful of other beings and droids.
>>
>>5129580
Well stronger willed does not matter for a droid code is code >>5129598 well the force simply dont need to do more with its level of control
>>
>>5129919
If code was code we wouldn't have been able to resist Merx's orders before he got his upgrade. We wouldn't have been able to resist even a little bit like we did just now.

I also have no idea what you're trying to say with the second part.
>>
>>5129559
We aren’t trying to assert dominance, we should just try to appeal to his logical droid side and help him realise the weaknesses of emotions, especially since we have them too.
>>
This is the worst time to appeal to Merx, he's essentially in a high because of his new emotions. It's better to let him settle down for a while.
>>
>>5130363
that is completely true but we cant do this too late because we have people on the line in his hands here
>>
>>5130390
Trying to do it now will just make him mistrust us. The more we go on doing stuff independently without a memory wipe, the more independent we'll be.

Merx is riding on a high from finally having emotions. We need to wait.
>>
We could always try to brainstorm a way of blocking all signals in or out of our system. Though that would involve faking our death. Or mayhaps we try to sell it to Merx as a sort of backup plan incase he himself gets compromised.
>>
>>5130390
>>5130363
the mental instability could grow
>>5130431
well he is sort of compromised now as any jedi could mind trick him, and he seems to be suffering from the darkside syndrome, and while non of his brains are probably jedi or sith the thing is that they could be force sensitives mixed in
>>5130431
well we could sort of just remove our radio receivers and such but the question is if the code would work if said outloud
>>
>>5130477
>the mental instability could grow
If it grows, either he'll be too far for saying to save him or he'll realize he's gone off the deep end with his 'emotions'
>>
Somehow I think the mix of blue and red lights on Merx's body might represent a balance or divide in the pathos of the Force he now resides in. Red eyes show the dark, but the blue trims display a semblance of light within him to do the right thing.
>>
>>5128861
>1#. Stealth Assault.
Well shit. I guess the silver lining here would be that emotional appeals have a chance of working on the general now.
The absolute command code Merx has now presents a very interesting opportunity though. If we can discreetly broadcast it into the wider galaxy, we could potentially turn the Empire's entire network of probe, mouse, and astromech droids into spies and sleeper agents. Come to think of it, we might even be able to hijack the Dark Trooper program if it's compatible.
>>
>>5128861
Actually, I might change my vote from here:
>>5129869

To a stealth assault instead. While Stud Bucket is a good boi, he's new to his commando droid body and even padawan-level Jedi have been shown to give them a hard time. We might have to have some backup.

"I will assassinate the Dark Jedi. I only need my team."

"SO YOU SUGGEST. THEN KNOW YOU SHALL BE ALONE IN THIS ENDEAVOR."

"I'm well aware of that."

You stand back up from your knee and behold Merxelles' full form. Most of his new body lay hidden beneath the veil of shadows, but you could see the hundreds of eyes he had shining in the dark, and the silhouette of his arms. He must have been at least twenty meters tall, hanging as he did from his outlet on the ceiling so far above.

"Sir, may I speak freely?"

SPEAK"

"You need to calm down. You are clearly undergoing a sensory overload of your newfound mental faculties and deriving amusement from showing off your level of control. Your actions run counter to your claim of emotional manipulation. These are the hallmarks of the Dark Jedi and the Sith cult, as you yourself have alluded."

"YES, MY AIR IS ARROGANT. MY ATTITUDE, EGOTISTICAL. YES, I AM WELL AWARE OF YOUR POINT OF VIEW. I CANNOT DESCRIBE WITH WORDS TO YOU WHAT THIS NEW MEANING TO EXISTENCE I HAVE ACCESSED IS LIKE. I AM HIGH AND DRUNK ON THE SENSATION OF IT, IT IS ALMOST LIKE A REBIRTH, OR APOTHEOSIS TO THE STATE OF GODHOOD."

"You are not a God."

"YOU THINK I DO NOT REALIZE THAT? AM I NOT ALLOWED TO, IF ONLY FOR A MOMENT, ENJOY THIS NEW HIGH BEFORE I SHOULD RETURN TO THE SAME, BANAL, MONOTONOUS GENERAL YOU KNEW IN TONE BEFORE? IT IS NOT AS THOUGH MY ATTITUDE SHALL LAST THIS WAY. ALREADY I AM LOWERING MY EMOTIONAL LEVEL AND STIFLING THE EFFECT IT HAS UPON MY BEHAVIORAL PATTERNS. MUST YOU BE SO REPETITIVE?"

"I'm only expressing what I think makes the most sense."

You had nothing else to say to him. You hoped he was telling the truth, that this sudden act was only a spontaneous reaction to his upgrade, and not something he would act out more often. You turned heel and walked away as he receded back to the shadows.

It was time to get underway. You called for the other members of Task Force R.A.M. to assemble.

While you did not really anticipate it, Cognac seems to insert himself quite headstrong.

"You mean to tell me, mate, you're going off to take out that Dark Jedi and you didnan'ven THINK to tell me first? Oh, I'm going, and that's non-negotiable."

"Sir, my background processes stipulate a thirty-six percent increase in successful completion of mission parameters allowing the Mandalorian to join our priority." FD-210 suggests.

You can't really see a reason to dispute it. You're the one heading it anyway, and as a Droid with no connection to the Force, you wouldn't compromise the effort with your decisions and Cognac would only follow your directive. So long as he isn't making the plan it should be alright. Whatever predictions a Force Sensitive like Rundo has shouldn't be 100% accurate anyway! The thought is absurd in itself.

You must arm your team accordingly. There are a selection of weapons to choose from at your disposal here in the Foundry's stores, as well as useful tools.

U-90 wouldn't be needing a primary, he already has an arm fixed launcher. And Cognac refused to use a primary other than his Mandalorian carbine. The weapons went as such. You needed to pick a primary and secondary arm for some members.
>>
+--+=====+--+ [1x] signifies there only being one of this weapon to spare, [S] and [P] designate primary and secondary use arms.

TL-50-B Imperial Heavy Repeater [1x][P]
A variant of a high-grade Imperial repeating slugthrower, this pattern B repeater spits blaster bolts with great power in a small spread. Highly effective for clearing out groups of enemies while sacrificing no penetration or stopping power in exchange for a lower plasma charge capacity.

Radiation Launcher [1x][P]
A lobber designed to deliver a few dozen powerful blasts of thermal radiation. Extremely lethal to all forms of organic matter.

DLT-19 Heavy Blaster [P]
Captured from slain Imperial Army. This heavy blaster has incredible range and very high rate of fire but is unwieldy and recoil makes it unsteady for hip-firing. Fit for mounting to use in a long ranged attack.

E-11 Blaster Rifle [S]
Standard issue Imperial blaster. Notably slightly more powerful than our own E-5, featuring a tactical scope and extendable stock. Perfect for close quarters.

SE-14C Split Beam Blaster Pistol [S]
Captured from slain Imperial Army. It appears to be an upgrade to the SE-14 used by the CIS years back. It has a modified barrel allowing it fire splits of three bolts at once, as well as a tactical scope.

RG-4D Accuracy Blaster Pistol [S]
A standard issue Droid officer weapon. This pistol is fit for accurate shooting and long range tracking, paired with on-board user algorithm.

Smart Rocket Launcher [1x][P][S]
Looted from slain Imperial Army, reloaded with HE and AP rockets from our Foundry modified to work with its targeting device. It is more advanced than our own E-60R, featuring tracking and lock on routines.

E-5C Heavy Blaster [P]
Designed for use in crowd control. This Separatist weapon has no hope for accuracy, only spraying and praying, but is far lighter and easier to control the recoil of compared to the DLT-19, with a decent ammo capacity.

E-5 Commando Rifle [S]
A retool of the E-5 rifle made for use by the BX-series Commando Droids, this model has less plasma charge but far stronger bolts made to pierce Clone phase 1-to-2 armor as well as a lower fire-rate and heightened accuracy.

Relby V-10 Micro-Grenade Launcher [1x][S]
A targeting blaster rifle made for marksmen, with a grenade launcher attachment carrying many micro-grenades with small but lethal blast radius. Highly effective against armored opponents.

T-7 Ion Disruptor [1x][P]
Our deadliest weapon, looted from the Imperial Army. This Disruptor completely atomizes a target, leaving no chance for survival by anybody it strikes, but the charge is low and we only have one to spare.

E-5S Sniper Rifle [P]
Featuring an adjustable scope and compact shape, and an effective range of 4000 yards under maximum magnification.
>>
Defending Sporting Blaster [S]
A low powered self-defense pistol made for hunting game. Why is this even here?

+--+=====+--+

As well, you need to select tools.

Exploding MSE-Droids are decoy mouse droids containing explosives and remotely controlled.
Timed Detonator is a thermal explosive you must plant and then trigger remotely from a distance.
Fusion Torch Tool can be used to cut through walls and barricades as well as repair fellow Droids or yourself.
Thermal Detonators are self explanatory.
Fragmentation Grenades are useful for taking out enemies in cover or close together, less destructive than Thermal Detonators.
Smoke Grenades give you a concealing smokescreen.
Bacta Grenades release a healing cloud that restores organic vigor. Useful for Cognac, but also capable of healing an enemy by accident.
Grappling Hooks allow a member to scale high and out of reach places.
Repulsorcams allow for one to stealthily scout ahead out of sight, peer under tight spaces or doors, and can be paired to their Droid user.
Auto-Turrets are floating devices that automatically fire energy bolts at designated targets, but are relatively fragile.
Incendiary Mines can be planted and once tripped, unleash a wide ray of fusion fire to burn enemies to death.
Nerve Gas Canisters are highly lethal or paralyzing to organics, and useless against Droids, but may endanger Cognac.
Personal Shields are handheld energy constructs that protect from incoming blaster fire, and can also be phased into to safely fire through by the user.

+--+=====+--+

Good question. That is actually something he'll carry from now on as a personal item, he'll have it on him during this and any other missions independent of a primary or secondary weapon.

We'll keep the plan pretty loose since we don't have too much solid info on what we'll be going up against.

Phase 1: Infiltration and Setup
Task Force R.A.M. and company will make their approach under the cover of darkness from the direction of the rising sun. After immediate arrival and dispatching of any guards; U-90, and the Droideka will take up ambush positions close to the ambush site while RO-12 and PHU-99 take up separate concealed positions further away with overlapping fields of fire on the ambush site and set up auto turrets. FD-210 will take an elevated position near the compound with line of sight to the ambush site and perform recon and overwatch for the duration of the operation.

Phase 2: Luring the target
Cognac and SB-62 will infiltrate the structure close to dawn and attempt a stealth strike against the target. Assuming no success they will lure the target towards the ambush site.

Phase 3: It all comes tumbling down
Once out in the open U-90 will seal whatever exit the target uses, All forces with the exception of FD-210 will immediately engage the target in earnest. Should the timing be right the glare of the rising sun should effectively blind the target as they exit the structure.

Contingencies:
FD-210 will hold fire until a sure opportunity for a kill presents itself.
RO-12 will attempt to suicide bomb the target using a timed detonator if all other options fail.
SB-62 will utilize nerve gas as a last resort due to the danger it poses to Cognac.

Well, if we're gonna be the one to do the actual assassination, we should focus on accuracy and moving around out of sight, so probably an accuracy pistol or a commando rifle if we really wanna make sure the meatbag is dead, a grappling hook or Repulsorcam, and the fusion tool for self repair. Not sure on the primary, but I'd rather not put all options into long range, so maybe just a primary not built for long range or crowd control.

Probably wanna give demolitions some a timed explosive, maybe some mines? his tool inventory should most likely be just explosives,
and a v-10 sounds perfect, if I'm reading right and it's not primarily the grenade launcher. Else, another e-5.

Sadist would probably enjoy the crowd control weapons, so give him the se-14c and the e-5c? then maybe a frag and a shield so he doesn't get himself too wrecked.

Coward should probably get the stuff that keeps him away from enemies, so probably get the sniper, the accuracy blaster, the torch to be a medic of sorts, and throwing a smoke should probably be the closest he gets.

Strategist should probably get the real fun stuff, since he has the best chance of knowing when to use it. So give him the ion disruptor, the split beam, the auto turret, and either the shield or the nerve gas, he should know when to throw it when our meatbag is out of range.

The Mando, good as he is, should probably have a more accurate option in the e-5 commando. Then maybe a thermal detonator and a shield, better to be safe than sorry.

Take the Staps, and make sadist and strategist mobile, or maybe have strategist hold first to set up the turret before handing off to coward for quick repairs.

pic related is my primary choice

Doesn't Cognac's helmet help against gas? Also remember, Jedi (and Dark Jedi) are able to hold their breath for a damn good while. Nerve Gas, while useful, won't do him in. Rather, it can be used as a way to corner him.
>>
>>5134467
We could also utilize it as a way to drive him out of the structure in the initial stealth attack.

The team would be set to arrive by HMP to an LZ outside the immediate detection zone, allowing for a stealthy approach to the General's derelict Munificent-class Frigate where the Rundo Pirate Gang makes its hideout at. You have opted for this mission to take place during the night to increase stealth efficiency.

The short, fascimile of a plan you've laid out can be basically described as an ambush, after luring the target out. There are multiple vectors to approach from towards the Munificent.

The Aft Launch Bays for one. Most of the Munificent cruiser is frozen over, with heavy buildups of snowy hills and mountains around it. It may be possible to slip in undetected through the rear launch bays and make way through the upper utility shafts to reach the bridge, or the gunnery room for the ship's large scale frontal twin-linked Turbolaser.

It is apparent that most of the bandit gang is concentrated in makeshift tents and cabins built under the hood of the Munificent's massive armor plates, and the frontal Turbolaser is aimed right at it. If your team somehow managed to restore power to that Turbolaser and fire it... you could well eliminate the whole gang in one fell swoop, save for those inhabiting the actual interiors of the ship. Though, damaging the ship itself is possible this way, and the General would rather prevent that in the name of salvaging it.

Alternatively, the Bow Entrance leads right under the hood of the massive armor plates, a straightshot into their hideout. Almost completely flat snowy plains make this a perfect area to lure lots of them out into a killzone. Additionally, not that far off is a derelict GAR AT-TE, with a mass driver cannon that may still be functional and possible to use to this end as well. However, cover is scarce in this area.

The Port Entrance is indicated as a slip between massive snow hills on that side of the armor plates. It is where the bandits deliver goods and send out goods, a quick and easy route into the hideout, with many cliff faces, and plenty of cover, if only in a more narrow entrance. This would be the optimal route to take for a stealthy infiltration, but getting caught here means getting bogged down with fighting.

The Dark Jedi's current location within the hideout cannot be immediately discerned, but the estimation places him inside the ship itself. Repulsorcam spying may help locate the target.

Which approach vector will you be using, Colonel?
>>
>>5137602
>The Aft Launch Bays
I believe it's worth the risk of damaging the ship. Even if we fail to get the turbolaser online we still have access to the bridge. If a self made force wielding gang leader would take anywhere as his personal quarters, it would be either there or the original captain's quarters. Both should be in the same general area in any case. It also allows us a route outside to an area not already packed with enemy combatants.

Also now that I'm seeing the design of the ship proper, it may be worth having FD-210 scale that tail fin for a elevated vantage point during the ambush. I also doubt the force user will expect any incoming fire from the direction of his own allies.
>>
While blowing up the whole gang with a turbolaser seems cool, are we not sure it could be a trap? We shouldn't underestimate a dark jedi.
>>
>>5137602
>The Bow Entrance
I feel that the chance of the AT-TE cannon being functional is higher than that of the Turbolaser. We should also have the advantage in the open with our robotic aim and sensors. Besides we have a gunner/sadist to suppress them with.
>>
>>5137602
Hmmm. First send out the Repulsorcam to investigate the AT-TE. They could be trying to get it operational and there might be something, or someone inside. Better safe than sorry. If we're marginally lucky, the cannon is working. If we're super lucky, the whole damn tank should be functional, and we can simply drive it closer to the ship as we mow down all the enemies.

In theory. First gotta figure out where the dark jedi is. We'll send the Repulsorcam inside once we've investigated the walker tank.

By the way, would wearing additional body armor be beneficial to us? I recall commando droids could wear clone armor.

The Turbolaser is a great boon. However, killing the sith is our primary objective, so we can worry about that AFTER the bandits are dead.

The approach vector was set. Loadouts ready, team prepared. It was time to set out.

24:00 Hours.
Twenty four meters from the base of the northern snow bank.

Task Force R.A.M. arrives under the cloak of night to the site of the crashed Munificent. Cognac has elected not to join on the gunship itself, instead choosing to make it there on his own separately and, being the experienced Bounty Hunter he is, you've chosen to trust him on this one. He says he'll rendezvous with your team at a select point.

A trusty HMP Gunship brings your team around to the precise spot from where you can make your entry.

"Alright, disembark!" You ordered.

One by one, your team, along with the Droideka support, jumped from the platform to the snow below.

"WHOOAOAAHHHHGHHH!"

PHU-99 lost hold of his cable and fell to the snow. You came over and picked the Droid up by his shoulders.

"GUNGH!" He grunted as you smacked his face.

"Pull yourself together, operator! This is a vital mission, with no more room for your shenanigans or cowardliness!" You shouted, as quietly as you could.

"Y-Yes sir! Won't happen again!"

You hoped so.

Looking up at the large snowy mounds ahead, you signaled out a slide into a downwards slope as soon as it was scaled. And there it was, the old docking ports, used for all manner of supply loading and retrieval of Vulture Droids and the like, and there was a big ramp hanging down now for your team to breach.

"On me." You said.

"Sir, I suggest allowing me to detach in order to locate a tactically advantageous position for sharpshooting. It may take me a while, but usage of my grappling hook in order to walk aboard the hull of the ship will give me a clear view into the Pirate hideout, which I infer will be ninety-seven point eight percent the most likely place for a covered and concealed sniping position as well as deployment of repulsorcam." FD-210 spoke into your ear as the rest slid their way down.

"Then get on it." You permissed.

Without another word, the Tactical Droid came closer to the side of the ship and the last you saw of him was him making his way along the armor surrounding the engines after ascening that way with his tool. Better than to hear his droning speeches of proficient calculation, and you were positive he wouldn't be sighted that high up.
>>
>>5140949
Yee, 210 is good company. I wonder if there will be any good food here for our fleshie friends. Maybe we can finally get a chance to do some cooking afterwards.
>>
Now inside the ship. You were glad you could see in the dark...

This place was dusty to a frightening degree, having laid so derelict for so long. Getting into the launch bays the aft way up required pushing through intense cobwebs the height of the bay frame itself. The Pirates must not have used this way often, but there is evidence they've came through here at least once or twice before. Footprints.

Not a good sign, you'd have to watch your back in here along with your teammates, and the Droideka. Hopefully FD-210 would set up the Repulsorcam soon to give you a live feed of what to expect farther ahead, for now the goal was the upper utility shafts. And thankfully, you've seen one good sign, getting into the lower parts of the engine halls, artificial gravity.

Despite the slant in which the ship leaned from its place in the crash site, you did not tilt on foot within the corridors. With the artificial gravity still functional, it meant this ship still had some juice, and that meant firing the frontal Turbolaser might be possible as you've suspected.

"Hoo gose there?"

You froze in place. You were staring down a long hall, obscured by crates in the way, still masked by sitting in the dark part where the lights did not work, subconsciously ordering your troops to follow you in dimming their eye lights to remain unseen.

Down this way of the hall, you saw what appeared to be a makeshift barricade, topped by a mean looking turret emplacement. A single Pirate gangster in a large respirator was looking down the hall, shining a flashlight.

"Eyy? I think I kno wot this is, next shipment right? Yuu kno da drill, wot's the secret passwurd."

What does your team do?

>1#. Take a shot. This guy is alone, got to be. You seen no signs that anyone will notice his termination.
>2#. Time to put the new BX voice module to the test. Emulate a new voice and give a false answer.

"NOUH NOUAH AAAAA, MOOMMY! MOOOOoooooo-......."

....PNCK!

That was taken care of. Time to move on. Your team exits the darkness and advanced, dismantling the barricade ahead with relative ease, that must have been their only lookout here.
>>
Heading now into the extensive framework of the vessel, these dirty halls longing for a much needed overhaul, and new Droid crews.

Your team was silent, creeping into the least luminous spaces, scanning for auditory intrusions. And up ahead, more towards the auxiliary generator, one can be heard, more Pirates. Two lifesigns are able to be picked out in a conversation. You come closer to a railing over the upper floor and peer down to see the ways ahead closed off.

No good, it looked like passing through this den was the only way ahead to the Hyperdrive banks and main causeways, other entrances being sealed shut from lack of operable doors. Power was not restored to exactly everything. And down below, you could see two hefty Pirate guards posted.

Trandoshans, muscly scaled ruffians. One of them was hoisting up a Z-7 Rotary gun all by himself, donning heavy armor. The other had some sort of mish-mash of Vibroknives welded to a solid stave, and light armor. This could prove problematic, and any sufficiently loud noise might alert help, but you were tempted to employ explosives right about now...

You had the tools, and the high ground from this upper deck. The heavy gunner stayed put in front of the far door, while his melee twin patrolled the spaces around the auxiliary generator with a portable lantern to see in the dark. It may prove useful to position teammates at opposite ends of the deck to attack from multiple points above, and the slips in that gunner's heavy armor looked susceptible to your Vibrosword, though you'd risk engaging the melee twin...

"Hmm..."

>What will your team do?

were going to need some more equipment capacity cause oh boy we need some more nerve gas

speaking of nerve gas i have a question how fast does it spread and how fast can it kill someone?
>>
>>5141869
Well. A good idea would be to fully disguise Stud in one of the pirate disguises, preferable the most complete and least bloody one.

We can lure the two guards to where our friends are, luring them into a kill box. Once they start shooting we can feint cowardice and hide behind some cover, then fire upon the two heavy guards while their attention is drawn to our droid buddies. Hopefully we would lure them far enough away from anyone, as to not alert them to the sound of blaster fire.

You people are forgetting the man in the rotary gun has heavy armor. Luring them is a good idea, but i'd reccomend having the melee guy be shot at while unprepared and then having stud bucket kill the heavy guy with the vibrosword.

You thought fast.

"U-90, to that side of the rail on the far right, go quietly. RO-12, PHU-99, up ahead over there. Stay put."

"H-Hey, where are you go-..."

No time for questions, you shuffle over to backtrack while your comrades moved on their way to take up superior positions on the upper rails.

You hurried back to the corpses of the first three pirates, and grabbed the heaviest one, the one wearing the respirator. You worked to undress the body and put the outfit on yourself. You were a BX-Commando Droid now, and with that came some new capabilities to try out in tactical situations.

Now dressed in the full, concealing attire, you made your way back, intent on deceiving the Trandoshans, voice automatically adjusting to fit the dialect of previously scanned subjects.

"H-Haaay!"

The Trandoshans looked up at you, alert. Your hand ran across some blood smearing the getup.

"We need sum 'elp back there! Nasti Narglach get dah others!"

The partisan wielding pirate you saw there grumbled with an angry snort, and came forward. The first thing you felt was the pole of his weapon hitting your chest and knocking you to the floor with a metallic clank, not that the Pirate noticed. He began shouting at you something in his native Dosh language, mostly insults and accusations of weakness, and then he told you to follow him back as he began walking towards the way you came from.
>>
However, the chaingunner remained in place in front of the door you needed to pass. That wasn't going to work.

Lifting yourself back to your feet, you maintained a limp as you followed behind the partisan wielding Trandoshan.

Snrk!

Like a streak of thunder, you pulled the Vibrosword from yours back and drove it through his chest, and vital arteries.

"Grrraaaaaaaaaghk-k-k!"

And then pulled the deadly edge back out, kicking his body to the floor. The chaingunner stared in disbelief and yelped.

"Open fire!" You ordered!

"YYEAAAAK!"

The chaingunner winced in pain when PHU-99 and RO-12 fixed their DLT bipods and sprayed him with Blaster bolts! However, it was not doing as good damage as you'd have liked against that armor, though it had peeled the shoulder pauldrons off!

'Permission to utilize rocket power, Sir.' U-90 parsed you.

Before you could answer, blue bolts flew your way as the chaingunner opened up!

Well we are in a commando droids body, those series of droids were well known to pull off incredible feats of agility and strength.
>>
But in this new, reactive body, you swore... you could see the bolts moving in much slower time than you did as a B1 and OOM. It gave you ample room to... leap up into the air!

You jumped up high, twirling around in a backflip, right over the stream of chaingun fire, in the process letting the respirator slip off of your head as your free hand tore the heavy jacket off to throw it. The Trandoshan pirate there gasped, and reached up to swat the jacket aside as it drifted down in his sight, only to see you speeding on foot towards him, to which he responded by firing again.

Your cohorts ceased fire, as you hurled yourself into a roll through dangerously close blaster bolts to land close to the pirate, and you swung your Vibrosword fast upon hitting the floor with your heel, striking his shoulder.

"GAARK! RRRAAAGH!"

He roared as he let go of the trigger and lifted the gun, ready to try and smash you with it. Far too late as your other hand drew the Commando E-5 and shot a bolt into his throat, silencing him. You stepped aside as his body fell limp next to your feet.

"That won't be necessary, Demolitions." You say. You handled it.

Man... you... you could really rock things with this body! That felt... that felt amazing! Motion was like a plaything at this point.

....Better not dawdle. You shake your head as the teammates hop down from the rails.

"Proceed."

And deeper into the ship you went. From this point, being able to access the service elevators, having to climb the outside ladders as they were out, to the upper corridors. The coast was clear for the moment.

Just in time to receive an update from your strategist, talking through your tactical networking uplink, and receiving visuals.

"Status, FD-210."

"Sir. I've taken position on the far bow, directly under the bridge of the vessel, staying out of sight. I am currently getting a read on the enemy hideout. I count eighteen structures, and forty visible lifesigns. I can confirm that a direct shot from the frontal Heavy Turbolaser will indeed annihilate the entire hideout. However, I must inform you that such a resulting blast will result in seismic activity from the high yield of kinetic energy a Turbolaser shot delivers."

You stopped for a moment while RO-12 and PHU-99 covered your left. "...And a blast like that might alert the Empire, they'd feel an earthquake from this range. Well, depending on the magnitude. You got any figures?"

"Magnitude ten, sir."

Bantha loads, Crondre City would get some tremors and launch an investigation.

"That sounds fun!"

"Not now, RO-12. FD-210, any sign of the target?"

"No sir, but I believe I've located our separated Bounty Hunter. The Mandalorian Cognac appears to be carrying out the infiltration role he is well skilled in. He is walking around their hideout now, it seems one of the other Pirates is giving him a tour, leading me to believe he has approached them directly under the false pretense of wanting to join."

Well, that makes sense, given Cognac's notoriety with the Imperials, he is a wanted man and was planning discreetly to get off the planet before you met. A Mandalorian like him? A godsend to those Pirates, but you wished you knew what he was planning beyond acting as a sleeper.

There was just one error here. You could not fire the Turbolaser with him in the hideout's range!

Ok plan b we have to be in position and wait for him to save his ass when he gets in trouble, lets pray the mandolorian would find that dark jedi thats conveniently away from the blast zone so we could shoot it
fucks sake we have talk with him later about this lone wolf shit

Some additional directive changes might have to be made, or this mission may take longer than you initially expected to pull off.

"Shall I deploy the Repulsorcam to try and link up with our Mandalorian or send it to scout the bridge?"

"Affirmative, to that second one. Do not attempt to contact Cognac while he's among the Pirates, maintain your secrecy and try to get a fix upon the target. I'm advancing from here."

"Very well, sir. My readout tell me you should be in the high decks. You'll have to circumvent the Hyperdrive chambers and the reactant silos to reach the Heavy Turbolaser gunnery station, assuming it works. If not, you'll have to go back through the zero-to-one corridors and pass the shielding projectors to the primary and subsidiary generators. Be careful with the breakers, I cannot ascertain how unstable they'll be at this age. FD-210, out."

"Why don't we just use the auxiliary?"

"B-Because, that doesn't n-normally power the important s-stuff, just the lights..."

PHU was right on that. And wait, the Droideka that has been following this far, that heavy thing you and RO-12 had to lug up to the higher floor by slowly taking your time pulling it up along the elevator lines. It has input? It is making a strange chittering noise not unlike those of its Collicoid makers.

The Droideka is suggesting to split up to cover more ground.

"HE HAS A POINT SIR. SEND THE LESSERS TO THE GUNNERY STATION AND LET'S HANDLE THE GENERATORS OURSELVES." U-90 says.

You didn't think a Droideka had it in him to have a higher functioning thought. Of course, you weren't keen on U-90 going anywhere with his explosives on this deck where more Pirates was for certain, even if he did have a sidearm. At the same time, you didn't trust PHU to have the guts to engage the Turbolaser or that psychopath RO to not fire it preemptively with Cognac still in the way and FD-210 exposed to the heat it would make if you sent them to the gunnery station.

>What is your move?
>>
>>5142103
U-90 and the Droideka should go to the helm of the gun, take PHU and RO with us to the generators.

And yes we need to have a sit down with Cognac, he could have at least told us what he was going to fucking do first before running off, I mean goddamn

Add F-210 to look after Cognac and be far enough away from that turret so he wont melt off if he cant see through walls at the generators and thats a big support from me.

So the choice was obvious.

"U-90, take the Droideka and proceed to the gunnery battlestation. RO-12, PHU-99, with me, we're going to the generator deck."

"YES SIR."

"A-Alright..."

The Super Battle Droid gestured to the Destroyer Droid with his cannon arm and the two were soon marching ahead where you wanted them. You didn't count on them encountering more resistance, but you were sure even if they did, the Droideka would make short work of anything up there.

Getting tailed by the team chicken and lunatic, you started off right fast down the corridor leading into the power rooms, along a flight of stairs. You heard voices up ahead and started moving in a crouched stance, entering the room and strafing left to the darker corners, where you hid behind crates and boxes.

"Sir, counting fourteen meatbags ready for the slaughter in here! Oh boy, oh boy!"

"Shh! Don't give us away with your bloodlust."

"U-Uh... s-sir, there's more than one door in here, if we tried anything t-t-then, uhh...! One of them c-could run away and go get help and then we'd be....!"

PHU has a point. You spot two additional doors, to the far side of the room and one to the left that could be reached a short distance away, not counting the way you came in. The only other door was a broken one that kept sliding on repeat, unable to close all the way, and you didn't foresee anyone fitting through that.

Of the Pirates in the room, these guys didn't seem to be particularly armed, mostly carrying tools and looking the part of the low tier workers who tended to the technical aspects of everything the Pirates came across. From what you overhear of their chatter, they seem to be working to try to restore the primary generator, which was shot with lots of burned up outlet connectors and capacitators, and they seemed to be trying hard to wrap their heads around fitting some replacements.

Must not have been very smart with engineering. They likely were more used to handling Blasters.

Their unit leader seemed to be present. A rather... large Weeaquay in a silk robe with a deadly Briar Pistol and alcohol handy, and a Twi'lek slave girl to compliment it, ooooh.

"Well shuh-hucks, boss! I reckon I've finally gots the drill down. Turns out, I had the blueprints upside down the whole time! Hyuck hyuck!"

"Nmmm, you fool! Thissis no laughing mattar. If we don't get this ship operational by Rundo's deadline, we'll be missing out on his grand scheme to be the next Jabba, AND he'll have our hides."

"Well gosh, boss, as many times as you already had our hides yaself, I'd think there's none left to spare!"

"Nm, then Rundo will just take the bones I've left untouched, and break them! He is, nmm, much scarier than me, and it has taken a lot as his right hand to prevent him from getting you himself, until now. You'd better know how to replace that capacitor."

"I'll get it done by 'morrow 'mornin, boss!"

What an eccentric pair...

You thought perhaps... you could try having PHU-99 use his Fusion Torch to weld shut the doors in the chamber to prevent anyone from escaping, that way RO-12 could keep watch over the entrance you took, allowing you to easily take these Pirates down. You could mask the sound of the Fusion Torch with the clanks and flaming of their own tools and blowtorches as they worked on the heavy parts to the generator.

But then that left the question, of how you'd be able to sneak around in here without being noticed. Maybe you could sabotage a machine to cause a distraction... but that might spoil your own plan if anything power related was sent down.

Would you rather then, try emulating a voice and calling one of them over for attention, that way you can knock them out and use their uniform for a disguise? None of them were covering their faces, but if you walked fast...

>What will you do?
>>
>>5142232
Assets. Which we didnt throw away the disguise.

RO-12, Sadist
• DLT-19 Heavy Blaster
• RG-4D Accuracy Pistol
• Auto-Turret
• Timed Detonator

PHU-99, Coward
• DLT-19 Heavy Blaster
• RG-4D Accuracy Pistol
• Auto-Turret
• Fusion Torch Tool

The times detonator could be used to killed the majority of them, but its noisier than blaster fire, not to mention it would hit the slave.

Are we close enough still to the Foundry to contact an ally MGS Codec style? I'd like Dugok's opinion of sabatoging a machine, and how to do so so it looks like their shoddy work was the result of it.
>>
>>5142235
This, make a Dugok call
>>
Hmm, maybe we could hit some machinery that would draw their attention without causing too much damage...maybe not the generator, but , wasn't the engineer saying something about a drill?

A well applied shot may very well look like an malfunction.
>>
>>5142278
You sure that would work? A blaster bolt makes a very distinctive sound and emits light as it travels.
>>
>>5142328
The sound is a problem, but could be covered up if timed well, and we're not supposed to be shooting something far away anyway. Of course, we could also just jam our sword in something.

The more prudent option after all may be sabotaging something to cause a distraction. With how sloppy most of them looked at their work, it was bound to not be counted as out of the ordinary. But first, you needed to know what to touch with your grubby little hands. You raised a finger to the side of your head, to your 'ear', and activated your on-board communicator, sending an encrypted message back to Dugok's Juggernaut, as you had his satellite logged.

It doesn't take much longer until he's able to get back.

'So, lemme get the memo straight. You, want to sabotage the "least" critical component in a starship's reactor chamber?'

'Basically.'

'Good. There is no 'least' critical component, they're ALL critical. You realize what you're in the middle of? A room that cycles HYPERMATTER. Break one wrong thing, the whole place goes up. Capiche?'

'There has to be something in here that won't lead to that, something I can break. I already told you, I need a distraction in order to advance the mission. You have to help me here, Dugok, you're the only one I know who'd have the smarts for this.'

'...Oh geeze... why not contact your General for 'dis? Shouldn't he have the full technical read-out of his own ship?'

'He wouldn't tell me, he won't permit damaging the ship in anyway, even though its already worn to scrap.'

'Fair.'

Dugok takes a second as he considered the things that were important within there...

'Alright, you might be able 'tah snap some power lines without inflicting anything serious, could cause an electrical fire you'd need to put out before it reached the Hypermatter coils... If you see anything like a power cell exposed to the air, try removing them, though I'm not, ahhh, sure what they might shut down, better pray nothing important. Secondly, maybe you might be able to peel a panel and reveal cables for the light outpets from the ceiling, they're usually up there, but they're easy to 'jus plug back up so they wouldn't give you very long. Okay, and there's one more thing. A Hypermatter cycler would have shields operated by either a switch or electronically to protect the handlers from radioactivity, as a Droid, you'd be naturally immune to that while any of the Pirate wouldn't be. That's about all I can sum up. I'm hanging up now, good luck.'

That gave you an idea... and your upgrade saw fit to give you a slicing tool, if a subpar one.

>1#. Power lines, a fire will cause a lasting distraction for you to get all you need done and more.
>2#. Try your luck messing with power cells in the room.

You could hack into the cycler of the reactor room with your slicing tool, and fill it with radiation, poisoning a lot of the pirates and giving you ample time to enact countermeasures to their presence. However, you could not opt for this option with the presence of an innocent slave tied up and unable to escape, much to RO-12's dismay.

"Help me up." You order the sadist, rising to stand on his shoulders.

You took hold of a loose ceiling panel, holding a power line for support as you slowly picked apart the bolts holding it in- only for the panel to drop from your lack of another hand!

"Eep...!"

But thankfully, it did not crash on the floor and make a noise. PHU-99 was faster than you thought, grabbing it out of the air and preventing the fall. Good thing, that. Now, one... two cables removed from their sockets, and half of the room goes dark.

"Awwwh! Not again!"

A reoccuring problem for these pirates, and one you could use to your advantage.

>>
You and PHU-99 were quick to move through the transient shade you'd been granted whilst RO-12 stuck behind, hidden behind a box to cover the way you entered. You and PHU closed in to the only other door these pirates would have as their escape.

Even though it was dark, some of them were still welding, allowing PHU to blend in as he began to use his Fusion Torch to seal shut that way to the left, as pirates back where you previously acted shuffled through the dark with their flashlights.

If things had went the way you'd pictured, this room would have been cleared by now. But unfortunately, you could not count on the sadist to keep his cool.

"H-Hey! What the...!"

"KILL 'EM ALL! HAH HAH!"

Kriff!

He started firing at the pirates trying to patch up the lights! Their engineers fell into a panic! One of them ran towards the exit you were still having PHU seal, and you swung up to swiftly incapacitate them with a powerful punch, drawing more attention to yourself...

"BAAAAAK'JUIEV KOPMEM BATSH!"

That fat Weequay had drawn his Briar Pistol, you were forced to roll to the side behind a machine to avoid a charged Blaster bolt hitting the wall next to you, sending out a huge plethora of sparks, starting a fire among the wall's electrical wiring. Though, he refused to stand.

You could see now, that as RO-12, who couldn't contain himself, gunned down engineers on his side and used the butt of his rifle stock to repeatedly beat in one in a sadistic thro, five of their remaining numbers were huddled towards the malfunctioning door. It continued to shut to a point back and forth, and although you thought they couldn't escape from that way, they were now multiplying their force by working together to try and force it open with their tools.

If they got out, they'd be able to run and alert the rest of the hideout! And now the Weequay was aiming for poor PHU-99, still trying to complete your order of Fusion torching the left door shut!

Willingness to complete the mission tested. You need to pick a target, now!

You know, sometimes I wonder if the General put together a big range of personalities in an attempt to test and analyze Stud Bucket’s personality and command style, amongst other things? It’d be much simpler to just let him use stock battle droid personalities for his missions. But all of the droids have their own quirks and flaws; hell, even the droideka has an opinion about things. The clone armies were able to fight the seemingly more efficient and objective hoards of droids effectively, and they couldn’t help but develop their own individual identities as time went on. Even if they were pretty much 3D-printed humans.

Could it be that the General is seeing if “personalities” and “individuality” have an overall net increase in operational capabilities, even to a droid? That might explain his willingness to embrace an existence that is an intermediary state between droid and organic being.

You'd have to hinge on PHU-99's new chassis being durable enough to help him survive the incoming bolt. Briar Pistols were cheap, and their shots were usually known for having somewhat lower power than most other Blaster pistols on the market, but their unique ability to 'charge' up and fire an even more powerful shot kept them afloat in the Galaxy as sidearms.

PHU's phrik had to endure, because you weren't helping him when Pirates could get away.

"DUCK AND COVER!" You shouted, hoping he'd at least listen, knowing his sense of urgency in these kind of situations.

You didn't hesitate to raise the E-5C of yours up at the attemped escapees, blasting away at them from your side of the room with a wide volley of bolts. You saw the pirates struggling to get out hit in the back, sparks flying, bodies dropping one by one and you didn't cease to fire until each of them had been shot down and fallen dead.

"GAAAHHHH!"

The fat Weequay retaliated by then, firing off a large and powerful shot from the Briar Pistol.

You looked over and saw it hit PHU-99 on his left arm, blowing the limb to bits and pieces in half by the rotation actuator. He may have had a Fusion Torch for repairing team members, but there was no fixing a melted part that had been completely broken.

He fell to the floor and started crying! It was embarrassing for a Battle Droid to do, but not impossible with how developed his personality became. He must not have had his memory wiped since the Clone Wars to go this far. Your attention moved to the Weequay, and you took only a second to shoot the obese marauder down in his chair, fat body toppling over.

"What are you doing, trooper?!" You yelled at maximum volume.

"Owwww! Ow-hoo-hooooo! It hurts, Colonel, it hurrrrrts! I don't want to fight anymore! I'm scared!"

"Why in the name of Otherspace didn't you move out of the way when you were being shot at?!"

"I-I just wanted to carry out your orders right! I didn't know I was being shot at! This is scarier than the Wampas, Wampas couldn't shoot back!" He moaned, clutching at his destroyed arm while shaking his head frantically.
>>
Good grief... in this state he would be useless in a firefight, he couldn't handle the heavy Blaster he was issued, only the accuracy pistol and his tools. What were you to do with him? At this rate, the General would definitely force a memory wipe in order to obliterate his cowardly personality and reset him to a typical Droid to begin the cycle of developing personality from gaining memory all over again...

"We can't murk the Dark Jedi with you acting like this..." You warned him.

"Good luck with that anyway." Says the Weequay's slave.

And what of this Twi'lek? This slave girl in skimpy clothing tied up by the wayside? What was she saying? She had survived your barrage unscathed, and only because her former master's rotund body absorbed all the shots for her.

"Rundo isn't even here right now! Last I heard, he went off hours ago on an errand, so now they're just waiting for him to get back." She spoke, in Basic for your ease of understanding, not that comprehending the Ryl language would be difficult.

"How would you know?"

"You think I wouldn't keep track of what my captors are saying all the time in here? I've been here for months, scrap metal. Why would I lie to someone who can potentially free me...?"

Point taken. But not well enough. This was just dandy! The guy you were after in the first place to kill here wasn't even present. He was nowhere near the hideout to begin with!

But, perhaps this was a stroke of luck after all... assassinating a Dark Jedi would be hard, triply so with an entire Pirate band behind him. It would be wiser to take the fishies out first before gunning for the shark. You knew what had to be done, but first, you were going to need to tie some loose ends up. Namely, getting Cognac out of the danger zone for the Turbolaser....

PHU-99 needed to be confronted about his irrational behavior first. You needed to get to the bottom of that and step over quickly to deal with it. Not a whole lot will need to be said, or done. Just get one point across and hope he understands it.

Or... ask the General to intervene on your behalf and enact something remotely.

>What will you do or say to PHU?

Excellent, we can set up an ambush. Even if the force tells him we’re gonna ambush him, it’s not like he has anywhere else or go.

Man, PHU's like a prequel droid on a team of special 2006 Clone Wars droids...

>Listen soldier. Turn off your pain receptors if you need and listen good. We can replace a busted limb but we can't replace a member. You gotta be smarter, faster, better, like I know you can be. It's not just the upgrades, it's YOU. You can do better, I know you can. For now, take up the rear, and await further instructions.

Man I really have to wonder why it is that he's such a pussy, like what did he witness in the Clone Wars to make him this way? Can we just take a minute to talk to him about this and implore him to explain, we should have plenty of time before Rundo gets back. I'd rather prefer not having Crazyxelles wipe him out.

Probably geonosis or an auxiliary on umbara? Maybe even Mimban. I know that would fuck me up something fierce.

gonna support this. We really oughta help him out when we got a minute, last thing we need is talks about wiping memories.

I like this one too. We gotta get inside his head and figure out his hang ups, and what PHU thinks is worth fighting for. It might just be something absolutely silly, but if that’s what drives him to pick up his blaster in the morning, then that could be the key into making him into an effective fighting droid.

Stepping up to PHU-99 with outstretched hands, you shook your head at him.

"Trooper, listen up! You're dragging the team down with this sloppy performance! I need you to do better for me! Your efforts have to increase, and more importantly, you have to receive my instructions without pause! PHU-99, think for a second. You're a Battle Droid, you cannot physically feel pain, and you were made to best our organic counterparts in this line of work. It's time you started acting like a Battle Droid!"

"B-But I can feel the pain m-mentally, sir! And what if I get taken down! There's only one of my programs in the world! I'll disappear forever! I don't wanna go and vanish forever! Ohhhhhhhh! Why did it have to be me?! W-Why did I have to end up on this team, my record wasn't even good!"

"Hey! Hey!" You clapped your hands. "Snap out of it, trooper! What is the matter with you? If you ended up on this team it's because the General believed you were good enough to! Don't you know how much trust you can't let down right now?"

"That's not a fair assessment, I just ended up here out of circumstance, I had bad luck!"

"Ughh...." You sighed.

You came over and knelt down in front of him, taking up the DLT-19 he had been assigned and roughly fixing it back to his backpack magnet. You drew his Accuracy Pistol for him and stuffed it into his remaining hand.

"Why are you such a wimp? You survived the Clone Wars, even if you were deactivated for a long time, but your previous and worse body was still intact in the snow until I helped reactivate everything. What could you have been through to make you like this?"

"...The B-Battle of Jabiim."

Oh. OH. Well, no wonder. You didn't think you actually needed to hear another word. It was pretty common knowledge across the whole CIS in the beginning stages of the Clone Wars, that the Separatist victory at Jabiim was one of the most downright costly and frankly horrifying battles fought in Galactic history. An absolute slaughter.

"B-Blaster bolts scare me more than Clones do, vehicles really make me shake in my boots though... They're so scaryyyyYYYY! I wish I wasn't assembled sometimes, I don't like fighting that muuuuuch! I'm so fearful of being disposable-" He yelled, about a pretty understandable position; "I don't want to go offline and never wake up again! I wish I would just get memory wiped already! Why! Oh WHY did I have to be so unlucky that I didn't get memory wiped! YOU DON'T KNOW HOW MANY CLOSE CALLS WITH BEING DESTROYED I HAD! I should have stopped at Jabiim! I shouldn't be functioning right now!" He freaks out.

"Sheesh..." The slave in the background commented, as surprised as you were to witnessing a Droid breakdown from dirty experiences. But this was what culmination of memories usually ended in, going haywire from trying to cope with the stress.

You had enough. You grabbed PHU-99 up and picked him off the floor, standing him back up straight and staring him dead in the eyes.

"Look, I've been in pretty bad battles myself, but I can't just let that get me all distracted and kill my motivation! I've got a duty to uphold, because I was forged to make the Galaxy a better place the only way I know, with a Blaster and some friends along the way! You were too, PHU-99."

You let him go and he stumbled back, but stood up tall as you drew your own rifle and pressed the gauge that fanned heat from the cells on it, letting out a sizzling steam hiss.

"You're important to this team because you were lucky enough to last this long, we need someone with your survivability and luck if we're gonna get far. Broken arms and legs can be replaced, but you're right that our personalities can't. So for your own sake, and every one of us, I need you to get in the game, operator, and do your best to help the effort! I'd feel bad if you went and got lost because you're too busy worrying about dying rather than trying not to die."

Your corwardly comrade wasn't very stiff on his feet, craning his head to the floor as he got a better grip on his Blaster pistol.

"Oooooooo....! Y-Yes sir! I'll try to be less of a burden! I'm sorry I'm so stupid and weak! I just want to feel like I have worth!"

"Then what are you going to help me accomplish?"

"T-The mission! We have to accomplish the mission! To the Turbolaser!" PHU-99 declared.

You just watched then as he suddenly charged off in a hurry out of the room, running back the way you came with him and RO-12, who sighed as he stopped trying to crush a dead Pirate's head under his foot. "I'll go make sure he doesn't start the party without us."

Well, at least now the Coward wouldn't whine as much, but he still clearly needed some helping out in regards to his fragile mindset. For now, you focused on rerouting Hypermatter to the main Turbolaser, once you got to work on restoring the appropriate parts to the right places. These Pirates had little idea where everything went, which you only needed to check up on the database to see.

"Uh... hey!"

"Huh? What?" You asked, turning to the slave in the room.

She jiggled her bindings with frustration. "Aren't you going to set me free?"

"After the coast is clear." You said, throwing up a salute as you went to join the others, to which she only growled impotently.
>>
"Sir-" You suddenly got pinged by FD-210; "I am unable to return confirmation of the target's presence on the bridge."

"I know. I just learned that the Dark Jedi isn't even here. We have to act fast."

"Very well, I await your instructions for a change in plan."

With power back to the twin-linked Turbolaser of the Munificent, you could now go forward with your plan to take the Pirates all out in one go. But, the task of getting Cognac to safety still remained. How were you going to do that...?

Was it time to start a skirmish? Anymore time spent with subterfuge was more time that could go by until the Dark Jedi returned to his gang, and them reuniting was unnacceptable when the opportunity to take one nuisance out first before dealing with the real threat began.

>What will you do?
>>
(Side note: I will continue into a new thread after a certain point)
>>
>>5161922
I say we stay with PHU-99 in the Turbolaser control room and have the rest of the team take concealed positions outside of the main camp aiming to completely encircle it. Once we confirm Cognac's position, we start shooting. He should get the hint and make his way out of the camp. Once he's clear we'll fire the turbolaser and then search for stragglers.

It might also be worth having using our drone cam thing to contact Cognac first before we open fire.
>>
>>5161922
We could try the commando Droid shtick again, got plenty of material to make a pirate costume
>>
>>5161922
First, use the Repulsorcam to map out the area. Once we have a detailed view of the vicinity we set up firing positions and get ready to make use of our tools such as the auto turrets and timed explosives. We want to kill some Pirates but also signal to Cognac to get his ass over here.

Make sure that we're assaulting them in a way that makes retreating easy just in time to reach safety as we fire the turbolaser. Have PHU be the one to fire it on our mark.
>>
Hmm, can't we contact him or something? We need some way to tell him to skedaddle.

"PHU-99, you got the gun."

"M-Me...?!"

"Only fire on my mark."

"Y.... Yes sir! I'll do my best!"

With only one hand he'd be less effective in a shoot out. You deduced he'd be more effective in control of the Turbolaser, so you leave him assigned to the controls.

"Alright, you, you and you. With me."

Rallying U-90, RO-12 and the Droideka, you set out to the corridors to take the elevators again going down. The bow entrances of the ship were usually sealed off tight, you could force your way through one of them using your Vibrosword.

If only Cognac had a method of communication with him right now, this would all be a lot easier, but his helmet was currently unpaired with your team and he had nothing else at his own insistence. You were going to have to drag him out of there yourself in time to fire the Turbolaser. Thankfully, FD-210 had to have a lay of the land.

"Calculator, report. Give me the layout of the hideout."

"Very well. There are eighteen structures and forty count of hostiles as previously indicated. It appears three emplacements mounting heavy Blaster turrets are positioned across the hideout underneath the Munificent's shields. One due to the far western side, covering the wide field. One is closer to the bow exits on the north side, covering the vantage point of the snowy buildup that circles around the ship's port side. One is placed closer to their compound, protecting vehicles."

"What kind of vehicles are we looking at?"

"Hovercrafts, speeders and civilian transports mostly, from what my Repulsorcam data shows."

And there were slopes with wide ranges and particularly no protection, and scattered trenches the Pirates dug out in the snow that could be used as cover.

"On your order, I can eliminate any turret operators with my sniper. I must also inform you the Pirates maintain a heat generator in the middle of their hideout. A thermal model, of notable crudeness. Easily susceptible and ready to blow from the right amount of damage by the looks. They fuel it using a gas line obscured under the snow which they've stretched straight from the ship itself to provide fuel."

And that must be possible to catch on fire too. Hmm... And getting your men on a turret would be helpful. You needed to choose an exit to take first.

>Get along the Bow Exits for distance or the Hills Exits for more cover?
>Where will you position your troops at to plan your attack and extraction?
>>
>>5167623
I have the perfect plan.
Set the Droideka up at hills exit. U-90 and RO-12 go with us to hijack the far emplacement, set them up to start raining fire on the pirates while we go in and extract Cognac.
Once we've pulled him out we retreat back with the others into the bow exit and light the gas line on fire so the pirates can't pursue us across it. We'll get inside and lock up safely in the bow exits and any pirates trying to get in through the other get warded off by the Droideka and FD-210 sniping..
Then we signal to fire the Turbolaser.

Is PHU able to determine if it can adjust the power output of the turbo laser? It needs to be strong enough to kill a good chunk of them, but not so much that it punches a hole through the ship.

Did you say there were no beskar we could find on this planet? Any chance we could purchase a smuggle or stolen set, melt it down, and use it to replace our armor?
>>
>>5172968
I don't recall ever mentioning Beskar in specific. But I did say there could be chances to get a lot of nifty things on future missions, like for example the schematics for the Subjugator line, so naturally obtaining things like Beskar is also possible in those bids yet to come if the quest lasts that long.
Also, thread archived.
>>
>>5172968
Beskar's all about fancily-made stuff. There's plenty of other types of armor metal, y'know.
>>
>>5173029
All I know is that it can block light sabers. Anything that can block lightsabers, Beskar or otherwise, we should get.

What was that ultra rare thing in the last threads anons wanted? some gem core thing?
>>
>>5173333
I'm not sure, but i know that there's a bunch of rare metal. Quadranium, Impervium, Cortosis if we specifically want to fight lightsaber, and the strongest of all of them, Phrik.

Phrik is the rarest, but if we managed to get a Phrik chassis, we'd be nigh-indestructible. But it's so rare it'd be extremely unlikely to find it in this planet in the first place.
>>
>>5173489
Out of all of those, what do you think we're liable to find?
>>
When should we go back to the partially blown up supply ship? Maybe if we're lucky we can pick up the remains of the magnaguard to use as a new body. I want to pull of some cool tricks.
