You are the Composer, a marine Captain turned musical cyborg leading the charge on the shadow war against crime.

However the thing about shadow wars are they are hidden, which means right NOW you are getting your ass chewed out.

Commodore Cider slams his fist on the table, the apple on the desk toppling over. "We got Hardliners down our throats, Fivers up our ass, and A HEAVENS DAMNED CENTIPEDE KNOCKING DOWN BUILDINGS LIKE WE PAID IT TO!" Cider spat the words out of his mouth as if each one was rotten in his mouth. The Commodore was a heavyset man with a beat red face and a gut that heaved with each word.

The spittle dripped from your metal face, as you took the Commodores rant. "AND YET, WHILE HELL WAS ON FUCKING EARTH, WHILE A CITIZEN WAS MURDERED IN COLD BLOOD-"

"Versailles was a mob boss." You interupt, black eyes glaring daggers at you.

"SUSPECTED MOB BOSS, AND NOW THAT SHES DEAD WE AIN'T EVER GONNA KNOW, BECAUSE WHEN THE BIGGEST CRIME OF THE GODDAMN DECADE WAS GOING ON YOU WERE IN GOD KNOWS WHERE. WHAT COULDVE BEEN SO IMPORTANT THAT YOU COULDN'T CALL INTO YOUR OWN JOB HUH?"

>I am here to catch criminals not protect them.
>We are marines, not lawmen, that wasn't my fight.
>I was hot on the heels of the Butcher, I didn't realize a mob war was starting.
>I was at the club performing, I didn't realize my boss was going to die.
>...Sorry.

Last Thread.

Welcome to ONE PIECE REFLEX! A GAME OF SHIPS AND SHADOWS.

You have not 1 but 3 crewmates so far, yourself, Miss Yorkshire the heiress turned serial killer/vigilante, and Seabass the ex mobster crab bug boy.

You have QUITE the crew, but what you dont have is a name...

You frown. "I am here to catch criminals not protect them, I am not going to bother with my time whenever two crime bosses want to do my job for me and bump each other off."

Perry sighs. "Captain Eumachos, it ain't Versailes I give a shit about, its the people in her path. This wars going to cause a lot of blood."

You lean forward. "Then Commodore, I advise that we win it."

You turn and walk out ignoring the shouts of Cider behind you. The mans not THAT bought out, he's just given up.

Well he's not a musician... You have a bit better understanding of the Song then he does, and it's not so cheery for the criminals.

But what tune to play next...

>You have to retrieve the Elbaf Every Eater, its the ace for Sea Bass and now its locked up with those science guys. You probbably should talk to them anyway, you owe them.

You have a hospital to get to... a real one.

You head off, duck a few alleys, as your known to duck, and head to the backroom doctor you know.

Dr Salz isn't a great man, hes not even a great doctor. But he prides himself on never asking questions in fact hes a mute and illiterate.

His hovel/hospital however, leaves a bit to desire, you feel the roaches crunch under your feet as the spindly man guides you to a bed of ice, your crab lying on it with bandages wrapped where the holes in his shell should be.

Salz is good for a patch up,but ripping a Elbalf out of your chest is not a patch up, this is a serious medical sitution, and you need Seabass up as soon as you can.

You have some options... but many of them wont be nice.

>Easiest: Get off island for a bit, you have the ship, you can take him to New Yorki and get him patched up in a place where you arent as well known, or Seabass.

>Deal with another mobster, do a trade to get Seabass patched up, you might have to show Crater who you are though.

>Deal with another mobster, do a trade to get Seabass patched up, you will have to get Yorkshire to be your proxy for this, but no one will be too concerned if the crazy heiress patches up a Crab

>You obviously need a doctor Composer. Back to recruiting

>Go to the science division and keep racking up those debts. You know Senor T Squat, hes not THAT intolerable.

You pick up Seabass and head over to your ship the "Siren Song". The Frigate is white, sleak and... standard issue for the navy.

You must admit a slight jealousy for the fancy elaboration pirates are afforded, but then again you are undercover... which is why Seabass has been hidden in a ice chest labled Lobster.

Sorry Seabass...

You have leave to move around the place, and frankly you think Cider will appreciate it at this point, fortunately since you mostly work from proxy and Yorkshire is still here in Ballywood, you are able to still move your pieces here... even if Yorkshire isnt as loyal as youd like yet...

But this is more important.

There are many islands in West Blue, some more medically advanced, some more criminally controlled... Which do you want to go to:

>Kano Country: Relatively small, used to be a big centerpoint in Devil Fruit Research, hit a bit of a crunch when the Glittering Oil got cutoff. Dangerous spot but may be the best shot at treating Seabass. Family controlled.

>Neo Yorki: Covered in smog and self smugness, its the home of the Moran Family. They are one of the Big 5, potential ties with Black Finger, but you have a in with the Moran Princess Miyuki. Plus the Morans hate the Soprassitos the most.

>Illusia: Another big family controlled area, has a lot of machinery. Not as many doctors as Kano, but you can get hardware here and you ARE a robot.

>Jambalya: A Large powerful island that the mob DOESNT control, kinda under a ultra zealous marine lockdown... which is great as long as they dont find out you are the composer.

>Reggino Island: The home of the Sopressatas. A terrible idea, but they in theory are more vunerable here then they wouldve been earlier, you can go on the offensive on the sly.
>>

You direct the ship to head to Kano Country. While you dont have a Navigator in your composer crew... since your acting in a official capacity you can just have your official lackeys navigate you there. (It's rather bittersweet that all your contacts are right now on the wrong side of the law). Kano may have its Triads, but it also is the birthplace of Admiral Kikazaru, and the foremost in devil fruit research. Given your Composer is a Paramecian you can use that knowledge.

Kano country is wide, bigger then most islands in fact, large sloping medows and hills intersped with large rivers, the red brick of the Kanos shines brightly against the green of their rice fields, and the grey of their cobbles.

You keep a eye out, noticing the marines walking around with spears slung on their back. The Kanos are home to the Heavenly Halbreds, the pride of the Marines... well the marines have MANY prides, but the Halbreds are a bit of a showpiece. However, you know that if you go deep enough to the Stench Shops where the butchers and herbalists make their home that you'll see less Halbreds and a lot more Yellow Sandle thugs... in fact, you are at war.
Why are there Halbreds here at all, shouldn't they be deployed to the grand line?

Unfortunately the Stench Shops are where the least talkative doctors are...

>Head to a official doctor, wear a disguise, or even take off your augments. Its the perfect cover
>Go to the Stench Market, get one of those fancy pirate doctors to help, use a disguse.
>Go to the stench market, without a disguise find one of those pirate doctors and do what you did with Yorkshire, using your influence to id a good one to press gang to your crew.
>Actually whatever you do you really need this disguise worked out. Go get some new threads, maybe a spooky mask.
>Go to official marine headquaters, get intel and make your due visit.

Given where you are and what you need, this is the part of the duty you cant be the famous metal monster for. Fortunately most people dont realize you are in a suit.

You ARE a cyborg, however a lot of your augments are further augmented by the Encore Ensemble you wear, the heavy suit adding a full feet to your height, greatly increasing your Iron Lung Capacity, and how much you can do with it. By taking it off you limit your tempo system by about... 80%... But you can still use it, and hide it amongst your Rokushiki.

Youd say its nice to finally breath but the suit was litterally your second skin. It must be admitted however that you are a bit more attractive "off" your suit, and you can always "Summon" your suit later. Its a bit sad you arent wearing the Jacket however, maybe you can get a mechanic to build you better or different disguses for your Ensemble.

But right now you need a doctor not a mechanic, fortunately are an expert in research, and have already got a thumb on not one, but four doctors.

The first is Heidi Hoal, ex Triad member, experimented with Glittering oil before she was assasinated.

However Oil takes the properties of fruits, and she was experimenting on Dr Twices Yomi Yomi fruit. Her powers arent as great as his as she only gets some of the fruits effects, however she was ALMOST killed and so she ALMOST came back. Shes an expert on fruitology, vaguely zombie looking, and shed be a good asset if you ever want to deal with the Yellow Sandels because she has dirt. Shes a bit flaky though, terrible in a fight.

Another option is Dr Peddle, who is a mafia surgeon, a quite renowned one, but one whose been looking for a extraction for awhile, if your smart you can get him on your crew, but youd have to go to the grand line (or move him there with a handler) to satisfy his deal. But you can just extract him, have him fix your mate, and send him off with zero fuss. Apperantly he's a good shot with his needle gun... which is a little cliche if you are being honest.

Third is a woman called Scissors, which is... um. You think itd be intimidating right, like maybe that's her weapon.

She's called that because she's gay.

Granted being a open lesbian isn't easy in the underworld, especially triad territory, and shes tough as nails, and unlike Yorkshire and Pebbles shes a full on fruit user. So that's useful. Plus she's a barber.

The last isn't even a crook yet. Its another of those "Muscle monks" and this one a doctor AND a carpenter, which could help outfit vessels later if you want to deploy the band outside your islands. His name is Maximillion T. Strongarm. Apperantly the T is a sign of being a monk.

You look over the options and you think Scissors is your best option. The reason is simple.

She will obviously fall for you immediately. You are as gorgeous as you are brilliant after all, and everyone loves a musician.

You have a high opinion of yourself, you kind of have to if you are a cybernetic uberwoman on a personal crusade against crime and corruption.

More noteworthy is phew they really weren't kidding when they call this place a stench market. Its not just the roasted meats its the spices, the herbs, the Duradura fruit (NOT a devil fruit, but mistaken as one for a while do to the stench) being eaten openly, this place is an olfactory kaleidoscope of smells. You are pretty sure if you wanted to hide you went here you'd have to burn your clothes...

Your senses also detect at least 45 different origin points for Crass Grass being burned throughout the premise, but you cant exactly be recruiting crooks while making arrests for drug possesion, plus theres a big push to legalize the devil leaf anyway.

Its too a bit of disappointment that the foul herb gets stronger when you reach a open stall, a lit pipe on a counter smoldering out next to a array of scissors and creams. Sitting in the chair is a rather handsome man with a chiseled jar and most of his attire hidden by the heavy tarp catching hairs.

Scissors severed bits and pieces of hair on the mans blonde scalp, the woman deftly operating a pair of black scissors, despite her one hand.
She looks up, her brown eye seizing ya up. "Eh? We got a queue lined up, ya gonna have ta take a ticket." She gestures to a machine.

>Im not here for a haircut I am here to talk
>Wait in line talk to her while shes giving you the hair cut, her blades cant cut through metal faster then you can get out of a tempo burst if things go sour.
>Explore the market while you wait.
>You know those things are bad for you, *eyes the crass grass*
>Play Hard ball

You decide to wait her out. Seabass needs help but the Golden Hour has already passed, you are pretty sure hes stable. Well of course he is, he inflicted his own injury...

Well Crater did, but it wasn't like Seabass was dumb enough to die to friendly fire. He's stable but you want him better FASTER.

You take your ticket and wait, around a hour ticks by, the muscular customer before sitting next to you (shirtless you noticed) and watches you as you wait for the other two trims to finish. Finally you are called up.

"Crisis?" You hear Scissors read, as you step into the chair. You lean back, letting the woman rinse your hair.

"Alright, what are you looking at here?" She says, her one free eye darting briefly to your missing one.

If all goes well here there will be three women on your ship, all missing an eye. Weird.

"Just a trim." You say, the woman rolling her eye as she leans the chair back.

"It does seem messy enough, but if I cut this any shorter you'd be bald." She rolls her eyes but gets her comb out of the water.

You arent THAT happy with her sass, but shes a good barber... And you have her undivided attention.

How should you approach this?

>Flirt, you KNOW you are hot you can do this

>Pay her to fix Seabass, even if she wont join the crew you arent coming out of this with nothing.

>Be direct, tell her what you want from her, find out what it takes to get her on your team.

>Be sneaky, prob her for what she wants that you can provide.

Also judge the pitch of her voice to see if she's worth a damn as a shanty singer, can't have a crew member who can't contribute during close-harmony singing.
>>
>Be direct, tell her what you want from her, find out what it takes to get her on your team.

Agreed, it's not a dealbreaker, but it's a nice bonus if she can sing.

Subtlety has its place, but its place is slow, and filled with shadowy things. While it would be relatively simple to spend your time sparring half truths with this woman, you do not want to trust so much of your criminal empire on misdirection and deceit, those are tools that precedent could turn against you.

"The marines here seem rather..." You pause as if you are searching for a word, though you have rehearsed this opener many times. "Free."

The woman snorts. "You mean, why aren't they off doing a real job? We got war in the east, war on the line yet they drink tea and shochu here and listen to music and poems?"

Your tongue clicks against your metal teeth, the woman swapping the water for her comb and scissors. "Not a fan?"

"It doesn't matter if I am a fan or not" She says lining up a snip. "The actions of the World Government are to benefit its rulers not me or mine." Your hair falls to the floor. "The marines won't rock the boat here, because the waters are too shaky."

"But if you could?" You ask, raising a eyebrow. "Rock the boat, deal with the crooks?" You watch the woman as the scissors stop their work.

"Oh, like some White Roger Pirate crew?" She rolls her eyes. "You'd get heat from both sides, this" She points a blade at one of the "Herb Dealers" openly trading in the bazaar. "Is stable, disturb that stability and all these Honest Salesmen and Independent Crooks going to run to Blackfinger and others to fight the system. The government will rather squash one well meaning pirate then have Yonkou presence past the Great White Wall.

The Wall refers to a military blockade round Maineford that keeps the new world pirates and Yonkou inside their lawless New World. Its always been easier to get INTO the New World then out, specifically because this lets the New World become a pseudo form of exile.

(And its not easy to get into the New World to begin with).

You've expected these arguments, though maybe not from Scissor. "Perhaps, but not all the Government agrees. There are many hardliners who would rather ensure there was no criminal enterprises for Blackfinger to exploit to begin with."

"And what, your one of them?" She says, parting your bangs, and hissing as she sees the bolt on your neck. "Bloody weapon you actually are, what are you some robot girl?"

"Something like that, listen. This stability, its in the middle of a civil war. It's fake." You gesture to the shop. "That man pays protection to the Sandles, as well as gets supply from them. But that supply comes over seas. In ships that smuggle past the calm belt. And the man with the most Calmcrawler vessels IS Blackfinger. This is a optics game that the fat cats are paid enough to play along with, less the hammer of responsibility hold them to task. Its going to fall apart soon enough. Someone needs to make sure the siren song is one of rebirth not a dirge."

"And why you asking me?" She says, gesturing for you to lower your head, she starts to work on the back as you continue.

"You can cut a lot more then hair, I know about your medical degree, and I know you've refused Sandal clients, yet the Sandal hasn't been able to muster you out of this territory, whether you have people to protect you, or can handle yourself, you can handle things I need done, and fix people I need fixed."

"What the goverment don't want to be caught helping crooks? Why don't you ask CPWhatever? I am sure they have a number of secret shadow doctors?"

You frown. CP9 may have the undercover resources to wage this war... but they haven't. In fact Blackfinger was a member of their team before going rogue anarchist radical, whatever jobs he did that made him change his mind about the people he owned his life to... you don't care to think about, but you aren't going to sully your hands in a group so dirty they may all be compromised by the underground already.

"What do you want?" Scisscors expression sharpens as you change the subject. "Money? Freedom? To explore the vast ocean? A bigger barber shop? No one's dream is to work in the Stench market."

"A girl friend." Your eyes widen as her grin goes dopey.

"A... girl friend? Thats it?" Shes a successful doctor lady, of all the things you couldn't find in Kano, just a single gay woman.

"A CUTE girlfriend, with a bow in her hair and pretty dresses. She'd look up to me and call me Scissor-san and I'll keep her safe from evil and she'll cook for me." She wiped a bit of drool from her lips. "You've read the Sakura Chronicles? You know what the great warlords did to win the affections of their Kaguya? Well I want a Kaguya! A little moon princess to bless and carass and..." She brushes some of your hair. "You know... you've got some pretty hair, white as the moon."

You are physically incapable of shuddering, however you are certainly suprised. You were hoping she'd just want a new eye, or maybe power in your new world. Or revenge on whoever gave her those scars.

Where are you going to find her a girl friend? What does that even have to do with fighting crime? The Sakura Chronicles detail the birth wars of the World Goverment they weren't a romance story!"

>Musican bonus activated: You are familliar with old legends and lore

"I wasn't aware the Sakura Chronicles are a romance?" You know what they are of course, not MANY do but after all you are a musician, and as a musician you are aware of the Solemn Shanties. The ancient stories that are sung to keep the Three Kings Slumbering. Of the Ancient tales, the Sakura Chronicles are one of them.

Not a popular one mind, they do not rhyme and are closer to poems, but pieces of the chronicles are stylized into songs sometimes. The tales themselves are a history of the World Nobles, it doesn't detail the Bloodless War (Where the world government formed) but how the 18 Families became the great dynastic warlords who met in Reverse Mountain for that great fateful fight to begin with.

That all being said, Sakura Country naturally focuses on the Caocrow family and their conquests and subjagation of the Soppresatas and other warlords (In fact this tale is WHY the Soppresatas view themselves as the crown princes of crime, they consider themselves the rightful winners of this war) though it does detail a few others. But more then that, it WASNT a romance it was ROMANTICIZED what does it have to do with love and girlfriends.

Despite your internal expositional monologue, Scissors is unconcerned about your prodding. "Why the love between Caocrow Cao and Jin Le Wei was obvious."

Eh?

"And the oath of love between the 3 Suited sisters. The spear of Thrice Free was so willing to slay for Columbia Dear!" She sighed dreamily. "Such loyalty, such resiliency, bonds deeper then the Three King's caves, with tenderness softer then all the clouds of heaven. That is love, so timeless they echo in the streets and are sung from sea to shining sea."

Eeeeeeeh?

"Jin Le Wei was Caocrow Cao's general... right?" You say as the woman just giggles again.

"And that makes it forbidden love, the bitterness of subtext only sweetens the fruit! To have to kill for your great lover, such tribulations, how fiercely the fire borned to test their loyalty. And yet... when Jin Le was forced to kneel to Thrice how bittery Caocrow wept for his friend, and how fierce the rescue was."

You see the issue. The Sakura Chronicles may have been called the Romance of the Two Nobles but you didnt expect Scissors to have taken it as an actual romance. A homoerotic one no less...

Though frankly you are surprised she's versed in the history at all, its not taught in schools only on seas. She either is a Musician or a Sailor. Either way neither of this came up in the dossier, then again there was a lot less to go on with Scissors then you had on Heidi or Pebbles, since Scissors kept her nose so clean.

You barely got her real name, though you arent sure why shes hiding it to begin with, might just be to look tough.

"Oh... that's an interesting interpretation." You say as her eyes light up.

"You are familiar with the scrolls." She asks, blow-drying your hair as you nod.

"Yeah, I know all the songs, but... even if I can't get you your girlfriend, can I at least get your help? I need someone to patch up a friend of mine. You help out, and I'll pay you."

Scissor looks at you for a bit and nods. "Alright... yeah sure, lets! Why not... After you pay for your cut." You nod and hand her some belli as she walks forward.

Strangely she nods to the first customer. "Come along Max." She looks at you and shrugs. "He's my bodyguard."

Why would a barber, need a bodyguard? Why would a doctor? Even a criminal one often is protected by the people they patch up... but not a single dedicated bodyguard. Youd have to be high up a criminal circuit for that, and she's an independent operator... and she didn't have one yesterday.

The man gives you a thumbs up as you escort them to the ship. Worst comes to worst you still have a crew of marines and your armor, you can take them if things go sour.

You wave off and bark orders at anyone of your boys and white, making sure the dance hall is spotless as you take the pair over to the freezer.

You gesture to the Locker where you left Seabass's body, and open it, revealing the crab fishman's unconscious body.

"There you go." You wave to Scissor. "I need him patched up."

-------

You are now Scissors, also known as Meghan D. Oldcastle. Some weird hot tomboy has asked you to fix their crab boyfriend and taken you to the back of their dangerous government seafood chest.

This is a strange day.

>Patch him up, let naturally healing take its course, low and slow.
>Heal him quickly, you got the stimulants on you, watch his blood level, theres protein here, feed him and jab him so he can burn and regrow the flesh.
>You have a few more riskier options thanks to your devil fruit. It may be a bit strange, and you arent sure you trust this lady to know you have it... but it could be effective here.

Roll a d100 for whatever you choose to do.

He'll be out of action for a while, but better that then playing around and getting our subbordinates maimed. I'll do my best to beat that 3.

You decide its best not to unveil your full arsenal here, instead you go slow, using your collection of bandages and ointments to patch the man off and let his natural healing process finish the job... except as you apply the ointment you notice something odd.

His healing... its not processing.

You check his pulse the man is CLEARLY alive, hes not dead, hes just... not anything else... You frown, searching for a reason... until you dart to the inert pile of wasps in his body. Which while terrifying, are probably a important thing to study for a weird hive person.

Using a pair of pliers you pluck a bug from the hive, the wasp limp and weak... he's not weak because of his injuries... something has is hurting him from the inside. You look deeper and see that in the hive form of Seabass, some of the reddish honeycombs inside her body are instead purplish... A different doctor might have missed it, but his hivework has been infected...

No... it was cursed.

But the only person who can do that is the Noroi Noroi no mi (Well and the Hito Hito no Mi model Jinn, the Mirror Mirror fruit, the Neko Neko no mi model Black Cat... okay there are options...) and the only person who has that is Versailles that mob witch. And shes dead.

>Were you the ones behind that hit yesterday?

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

You frown, turning to the mildly hot captain lady. "This man is cursed. I am going to need salt, iron, seastone if you have it." You point to Max. "Get me my holy book." The strongman nods, running off to get the supplies as you see the captain bark orders.

You will say this about Captain Crisis, she can keep her cool, even though this isn't a good situation... you haven't ever DONE a exorcism before, its barely a part of medical school.

Granted you skipped medical school anyway, but its a niche situation.

Around a hour later you have set up the salt circle, lit candles surround the man, and you are holding a holy book.

Granted its really only 'holy' to you...

You flip through the Sakura Romancia, a Love of 4 Spears, its a... derivative work from the original Sakura Chronicals, but its very well written, dripping in passion... and you need that passion to ward off the enemy.

"Excuse me." The Captain looks at the cover of your book and coughs. "Are you sure that is the right book?"

You sigh, and she calls herself a history buff... "Listen its a great novel, and it catalogues the holiest of emotions. Love."

The woman narrows her eye. "You are going to purge a death curse from my personal assistant, with fanfiction?"

"Its a historical documentary!" You insist. See, amateur. "Listen there are only a small handful of things that can break a curse, and unless you have holy tears, or Jolly Roger's Jokebook, or the Red Words, the only thing left is Haki."

She nods, thankfully, allowing you to continue.

"There are a few tricks to use Haki to force the spirit out, many of them very complicated, and with some more wider utilities that may make them less then ethical. This however." You wave the book. "Is known to work. Intense focus and passion, some use Raus, some use the Law... but I have this. And I've only been able to pull this off." You mean Haki not excorisms. "With this set up. So we have two options. Plan A, my book. Plan B, is hope your some mysterious uber fighter with haki powers and then YOU do it as I guide you through the situation."

>Turns out she DOES want to try. Switch back to Chryseis
>She lets you do it, roll
>Actually given her history in music, Chryseis DOES have a line on the Jolly Roger's Jokebook, and shes been looking to nab that crook anyway. Plan C is a go.

She sighs and backs off, giving you your breathing room. Shes cute, but you can tell she seems to be rather concerned about her image. But at least shes not willing to sacrifice her team mates to look cool.

You light the candles ensuring the room is dark, as you flip the book open.

"And Jin Le Wei wept, lying against Caocrows side, feeling the great leaders life faded. For it was his wisdom that shone the light of the world, and with its loss Jin Le saw the darkness as insurmontable.

There is a buzz from the within hte sea stone net you placed over the cage, the wasps stirring in anger as you continue, tapping into not the words... but the feelings, the emotions.

"BUT NO!" You scream, tears in your eyes, "JIN LE HARDENED HIS HEART, NOT IN BITTERNESS BUT AGAINST IT, HE KEPT CAOCROWS DEATH IN HIS CHEST, FOR HIS MEMORY, HIS DREAM MUST LIVE ON.

THE GENERAL WILL KEPT THE WAR GOING, NOT FOR THE TIGER LORDS HE CALLED PEER, NOT FOR THE POWER. NOT EVEN FOR CAOCROWS SON, BUT FOR THE DREAM. THE GREAT DREAM OF CAOCROW SHOU WILL LIVE ON, EVEN IF IT MUST BE WRITTEN ON THE SUITED SISTERS BACK."

You hear Seabass wail, a cry to shrill to come from a man, or even any living lungs. But you do not falter, Jin Le did not. "ON SAKE AND IN SONG DID JIN LE SWEAR HIS OATH, AND THROUGH THREAT AND GOLD DID EACH TIGER PLEDGE IT. BUT AS CAOCROW SHOU'S DEATH HAS CAST TEARS FROM THINE EYES SO MUST IT BE CAST IN COLUMBIA DEARS, IN THRICE FREES, AND IN MERRY WAY. EACH WILL FALL TO SPEAR AND WIT, UNTIL COLUMBIA WILL SEE THE RUINS OF HER DREAM IN HER OATH SISTERS GRAVES. AND WHEN THEY BEND THE KNEE AND KISS THE BANNER OF CAOCROW THE DREAM WILL BE MADE REAL. AND LIKE THE PHOENIX THAT SHOU WAS THE DREAM WILL BE BROUGHT FROM DEATH. I CAST MY BLADE INTO THE BELLY OF CERTAINTY, AND YOU WILL BLEED DEMON!"

ry in your Soul, and you Thrust, metaphorically, but only mostly. You feel the rage of your generals death, and you tap into the Colors, you see the spirit. You reach out, not with the book in hand but with your spear, the one you carry in your heart. There is a roar as the sea stone cage is sent flying, a whisp flying out, the withered form of...

Actually you never met this woman... but she looks mad!

"You fools!" The curse wails. "You think you can stop me, I shall feast on the life force of your friend, and puppet his soul like a doll, and you will all die!" She wails things floating in the air and being thrown at you face.

Max grabs the hurtling chair before it crashes into you, tossing it aside.

>Continue the exorcism letting the others protect you
>Use your fruit, to try to capture the ghost
>Direct the millitary girl to fight the ghost as you finish up the exorcism. This isnt the real... whoever it is, its a blood curse linking that persons soul to the victim. Its not nearly as dangerous as the real deal.

Because 68 isnt a great roll in best of 3 i had to keep this plot going.

You take a step back, letting Max and the others take the Noroi noroi nonsense for you.

Max grabs one of the chairs and throws it back, the ghost dispersing into mist before reforming, right in time for the second chair to beam it.

It's not doing much but it's distracting the foe and rather satisfying... You flip through your book, gently turning well thumbed pages. You started this exorcism, and all that was left was the finale...

You flip to the death of the King of the West, Champagne Sopressata. "And thus Owen Whey scheme bore fruit, and the invincible Iron Bao turned against Sopressata, and his own spear pierced the King of Kings. And the sword of the sun was sharper then the thunder! And evil cast off evils, and the Rule of Teeths came to a close. And with Champagnes death the Old way starved! And Caocrows vision was finally brought to vision, The sisters lay bowed and broken, and the Five Tigers were uncontested admist the ashes. For even as Caocrow may have been ashes, Jin Le ensured that for five days Champagne smoldered, and so for five days Caocrow avoided his the loathesome company in the hereafter. And Jin Le lead the way for the Caocrows kingdom to stretch from calm to calm. And their ships headed to reverse mountain knowing that their rulership was bound and irons! For even the Death of the West had died!"

The Ghost wailed, the Captain lady pointing a finger at the foe as you finish. "And you have no power here either, thrall! Your master is dead your legacy ablaze like Champagne, and we turn towards the future and leave your bones to blacken!"

There is a hiss as the ghost vanishes, the candles fading to smoke as the crab person moans in pain... but a normal "theres a giant hole in my chest pain.

After a few hours of patching and tea, the man stirs awake, staring at the captain in confusion "Composer? I am sorry, there were... complications."

She shakes her head and gives a smile (A pretty cute one). "It's alright, shes gone now, it all went according to plan, despite the complications. You did great my loyal conductor."

You cough.

>Excuse me, the Composer? You're the composer? From the Band thing?

"Wait..." You look at the group. "THATS what that vague rebel prose was about? The BAND? Your that Composer everyone is talking about."

Seabass gives a worried look to the captain, who stands up facing you. "And what if I am? We had a deal and I have your money." She reaches into her jacket slowly, pulling out a wad of colorful bills. "There you go, 1 million Beri. Untraced. You can take it, walk away... Or you can stay onboard and become a Conductor."

"...Or, I can just take the money, leave, and tell any random crook your id and get triple this. More if I go to that old ladies family you offed."

The woman shrugs. "You could, and I am sure the marines will be devastated to find out that I, a officer of the law, was upholding my duty. But you won't, that's not who you are."

"You don't know the first thing about me pal. You've never been straight with me, why am I going to be straight now?"

"Because." She smiles. "Thats what Jin Le would do.'

You frown. "Wha-"

"Here you are, alone..." She looks at Max who shrugs. "...Well, down and out, hidden away from your home ocean to hide from the shadow of your father. But you aren't him, you aren't even an extension of him. Nor was Jin Le of his father."

She outstretches a arm. "I have a dream, a dream of a unified world, beyond pirates and gang leaders and underworlds. You can live your life, and when I am victorious you will reap the benefits all citizens where, or you can join me, as a Tiger Lord yourself. And together we can write our own Chronicles."

Damn it. You take her hand. This is a dumb idea, and your dad is going to kill you when he finds out...

Well he was trying to kill you anyway, so whatever.
