You are Purple, a 18 year old trainer. You like pokemons and food. You're fit, and sing horribly bad.
The region is South Kalos, you can meet all pokemons, there are some alternate typing name delta pokemons and possibility to fuse pokemons.
Last time, you broke out of a cult wanting to sacrifice you thanks to the help of 3 mythical Pokemons, you met Professor Pommier, and a group of kids : Blaise, a Chad Historian, Clémentine, a Stacy wannabe Nurse-Ranger, Lucas, a nerd, Léa, a chaotic-stupid tech genius, and Maxine, the edgy fight addict of the group.
You met last time some guys of "CasteliaStockExchangeBet", some traders that go mess with supply chain for impacting the stock value. They are mostly harmless, you became friend with "Shroom guy" and "Pig guy".
You also met a guy who enjoy hand-fighting pokemons, Baptiste, a martial artist of the school of the shiny Draconite.

For now, you have 2 badges : the Normal one, and the Bug one.
Your team so far :
Charmy, delta-Charmeleon, Ghost/Dragon, level 26
Tensendur, Ponyta, Fire, level 22
Nanowatt, Joltik, Bug/Electric, level 30
Pinekiss, Togetic/Pineco Fusion, Fairy/Bug level 25
Kokonuts, Mumbao, Fairy/Plant, level 25
Bag contents :
------Rare items ------
Pokedex
Trainer card
Saddle
TM Case : Secret Power, Bug Buzz
Badge Case : Normal, Bug
Z-Case : Normalium-Z, Buginium-Z
------Everyday stuff ------
Food for the current trip
Camping gear
3 set of cloths
3 Condoms (thanks Clémentine I guess?)
------Consumables ------
Molotov Cocktail (x4)
>>
You are currently riding on Tensendur, getting out of the wood around 12.
Trees open up, and you are on a plain. The plain is enclosed by big mountains on the North/West half, and the forest on the South/East side.
Notable ones are the huge one on the north, the highest of the chain, and the one you have already seen thousands of time, on each Fresh Water bottle.
Close to this two mountains, the city of Clerk-Mountsmith is waiting for you. You make it there around 3 and half.
What do?
>Go directly to the professor. After all, you have to trade Kokonuts for the marill/Marowak fusion

You ping the professor, which indicate you where the lab is. It's quite close, in the south part of the town, on a rocky hill. There is the university, and the attached laboratories. You go toward the Pokemon Amelioration By Increase of Evolution (Non-Natural) , name of the research group of Pommier.
He tooks you toward his office, on the first floor.
"Alright, Purple, I hope you made a good trip. 2 Badges in like 10 days? You look like you're set for becoming an amazing trainer."
He gave you a cup of tea, and you tell him about your trip so far, people you've met, you show him the team.
"Your togepi/Pineco grew up well... Let me check my research note... Ok, with a bit more of training he should reach the next evolution step, then you might need a Shiny stone... Good luck to find that one."

"Alright, let me see your new specie... Oh, I see, impressive...
Well, here's the little guy I prepared for you.
>Purple accepted the trade. Purple sent out Kokonuts.
>Purple received Sipbone!

"Ok, so that you'll know, I can act as a storage for your... Interesting... Pokemons. So if you need Kokonuts again, I'll trade him for any delta or fusion pokemon of your team."

"Now, a last thing. Do you know what you want to do in the future? I mean, as a carrier or something"

Well, you didn't really thought of your future yet. On short term, you want to find again the cult that tried to murder you for some good old self revenge, but for the long term?
a few ideas cross your mind, ranging from Ranger to help people, but you will mostly prevent too strong pokemons to get close to the roads and cities, and deter retards of CasteliaStockExchangeBet to do some illegal stuff instead of getting in the hard action. Or maybe Architect, building up houses could be nice. Or maybe Nurse, like Clémentine. You have no idea, really. You voice that out.
"Well, if you're concerned of not being really usefull, there's always the GIRN. But to join them, you'll need some good physical condition and good result in the league turnament."

You still have to settle for a name for your new pokemon, though.
For now, Skellington, Nidhogg and Oslo came to mind. You check him out

You have quite a bit of time before the professor goes home, or so he tells you.
Welp, time to do some bonding with Oslo.
You take him out on a grass outside of the lab, while various students and researchers walk around.
He's really cute, and bonding goes well. However, it's far from enough to make it evolve.
You whip your pokedex out, notifying your friend you made it to the town and you'll be sleeping at the Professor's tonight. Maxine tries to make some dirty insinuation, but everyone in the chat is "...", in what you interpret a blank like would have happened in real life when a joke miss. Poor Maxine, maybe her pregnancy is messing up with her emotions?
Anyway, after the professor is done with his work, he takes you to a restaurant to make you discover Truffade, a dish made of potato, cured ham and cheese, served with some salad.
Delicious, although high in calories.
Then, you cross the town to go toward Professor's flat, in the North part of the town, just under the big mountain named Domswell.
Professor prepared a guest room for you, and you feel the comfort of the bed, the clean sheets, granting you a way better night than the ones in the forest.
You wake up in the morning.
After checking your pokedex, time for a solid breakfast : Pains au chocolat, berry juice, Rye bread (it is black, and totally different taste from wheat bread. Delicious with butter, and you guess it would be perfect for sandwiches) and some tea, and you're ready to go.

Lucas and Lea will try out fire gym in the morning.
You step out of the flat, and damn what a view.

You go to the fire gym, located not that far from Professor's place.
Lucas and Lea come soon.100
"Hey boss! you're coming to challenge? You're ready yet?"
You see a shade of gloom on Lucas' face.
"No, no... I came to cheer on you guys"
Lucas face is now bright.
"It's really nice of you, Purpeul... Say, Lea, could you start the fight?
- Of course. Watch this, boss!"
You get in the gym all together. It's actually... A spa?
"Welcolm to Laura Tonic! Are you in for some care, or pokemon league business?", an attendant ask you.
"We're here for the gym.
- Alright, I'll ring the boss... Noémie, please, could you take them to Laura? League Business."
An other attendant come, makes you go through changing room while providing swim suit and towels, and bring you to the gym leader, in a big Solarium. The glass window on the ceiling is amazing.
"Hello, I'm Laura. You're coming for challenge? 2 for 2nd badge, 1 for third... Dear, if you want we can fight but I'll wreck you at your current level
- No, no, I'm cheering my friends. Might come back later.
- OK... Which one will start?"
Léa steps forward.
"Alright, go Torkoal!
- Go, Funbro!" Léa sent Galarian-slowpoke
Sunlight go harsher as Torkoal enter the field, magnified by the glass ceiling.
"Torkoal, Stealth rocks!
-Funbro, block!" Léa starts grinning as pointed stones scatter on her side of field but electromagnetic waves block Laura's pokeballs.
"Torkoal, solar beam!
-Funbro, Slack off!"
Léa proceed to stall the 8 turns of sun this way.
"Well, nicely done with my weather, but your pokemon will eventually stop having stamina on that move... Why didn't you poisonned my pokemon?
Torkoal, ember!
- Funbro, Slack off!"
Funbro stamina starts to wear off. You notice he's holding a little sack though. He took out a berry and he starts eating it. He seems all pumped up.
"Leppa berry? What the hell is happening?
Torkoal, ember!
- Funbro, Recycle!
Funbro focused energy and the Leppa berry reformed in his sack. Wait a minute... Will she win by forcing the torkoal to struggle to death?
After a moment, Torkoal ran out of moves. He starts struggling.
"Torkoal, attack!
- Funbro, Heal pulse!"
By struggling, a pokemon take recoil damages because of the exhaustion. Funbro is healing him, and never running out of PP thanks to his item. Plus, he can heal himself and prevented the switch out.
Léa effectively blocked the champion in an endless battle.
"So you turn that into a game of who's willing to let it go first? And just with me having to deal with a second challenger right now? Nice try."
It turned into a battle of will. However, Léa remains calm and focused while the champion is losing more and more her calm.
After an hour and half...
"Fine! Fine! I'll concede... Let me heal my pokemon... Alright, you, she says pointing Lucas, let's fight!" (part 1)

The fight is way more normal. Lucas lead with his local Rat pokemon, Jamécontent, which is setted up with a rock-type pannel. He deals fairly good damages and almost take the Torkoal down while he setted up weather and stealth rocks. Lucas switch on his Cinderace. The champion fights are level limited, but you're a bit impressed to learn he grinded that hard. Lucas used court change to set rocks for him, took down Chartor. Next pokemon is motisma-heat, that took fairly good damages on rocks. Lucas takes him out too with his starter. Then, Laura send out a Charmeleon. Charmeleon manage to take down the fire bunny, Lucas sent out togetic, and close the match.
Both of your friends are taken for the prize, and Lucas looks really happy; Léa is thoughtfull, maybe wandering about her next pokemon.
You go for lunch for celebrating. Today is hamburgers. Blaise is pinging about a rare pokemon hunt in the volcano.

This is settled for Nanowatt's moveset.

You follow Blaise to Vicwells, the volcano with an outstanding spring, and go near the grotto.
There is still lava reachable, although it's very dangerous because of the gas.
Inside the cavern, it's hot. Your trip is an opportunity to see and meet amazing pokemons, like Cindaquills, Combuskens, and even a Braixen. Blaise is clearly pondering caughting one of them, but is not set yet. Quite deep in the grotto, Blaise found out a rift... It's quite acrobatic to reach it, first some rock climb on warm stones, then crouching and crawling under the boulder blocking the path...

(damn, you guys really went for the joke option. /qst/general warned me this day would happen)

You decide to go for Tourism, for some reason.
You start with investigation of the Black stone church, dedicated to Giratina. You step in, wary of seeing sketchy stuff. No cult vibe at all inside though. The theological standpoint here is exposed as "Evil is the only thing in the world proving existence of good. By studying big evil, small, petty, evil, ordinary evil, stupid evil... we might know how to deter it, prevent it, contain it. But never get rid of it, because no absolute good can exist. If we eradicated all evil, the evil would be found in ourselves". That's what the sign said at least. Stained glass are extra neat, though. You are currently on a hill in the middle of town. A guided tour with your pokedex indicate you the town exist since Ancient times. There is nearby a really old battlefield where there was big victory of Kalosian against a way bigger and better equipped army. Apparently the town stayed quite small through middle age, Renaissance, and modern Time until before the Big War, where the autoritarian government setted up the biggest research center here, at the exact middle of the coutry for making it more strategically hard to reach. This is where TM have been invented. From that time, the research center remained, which is nowadays one of the biggest of the world.

And just like that, the afternoon is gone.

You walk back to the professor's place, alone, in the night of a city you don't know that well. No issues to report whatsoever, it's quite fast thanks to Tensendur. The utility of him as a mean of transportation is beyond words.

You spend the whole afternoon playing and bonding with Oslo. At the end of the afternoon, he seems quite more friendly toward you. He especially like scratching at the edge of the skull, where skin is accessible.
Maybe, just getting him out with you tonight shall be enough to bring him to affection level trigger of evolution...

You go to the same bar as yesterday, where Blaise is already there. You order some Nachos; they're delicious even though Jalapenos are a bit hot for you.
"Hey, Peurple. Who's the little Fella?
- I swapped Kokonuts for him with the professor"
He is a bit the star of the show tonight, everyone from your friends to barmaid and strangers are interested in Oslo.

You decide to wait a bit this time. Blaise agreed starting out.
You enter the university, in the genetics labs. It's actually the same building the professor got his office in, just a floor lower. When you ring for gym business, the clerc lady ask you to wait a bit. Then, Juan walks out of one lab in the end of the corridor on the left, and brings you to the gym itself, on the right.
"Hello everyone, I'm Juan. I'm researching genetical impact on moveset. You know pokemons are separated into "egg groups", right? You know sometime pokemon only learn moves by parental transmission? Well, I'm working on things like Technical Records able to open this possibilities to your pokemons. So, if you want to participate in the country research effort, feel free to volunteer!"
He leads with his Mollux.
"Go, Persilave"

why does the wiki make it hard to view the actually useful items...

I don't think Heavy duty is worth it when it doesn't actually remove the hazard. We can use Shell Bell to heal back the damage and rely on a full health bar to survive. There's also Assault Vest, but it's only special defense.

We can use Focus Band or Bright Powder for maximum RNG, but I don't think anyone wants that.

And we could also just go all the way and grab Choice Specs for some real damage.

You decide a good employment of your time would be making some dough. Now, you'll have to find a way. Your main asset would be Tensendur's speed, perfect for doing locals delivery. So, you head toward the town's PokéMart, asking them if they would need help.
>Roll d100 to check their need for delivery gals.

Great thing! turns out some mechanic needs to deliver some tyres somewhere in the mountains on the West. Good thing stuff can be compacted and put in backpack, because it turned out aforementionned tyres are for tractor. Technology is clearly wonderful.
Anyway, you head West, get out of town, and start entering the mountains.
The place... Is strange.
You met a wide range of different pokemons. Most you never saw. A couple Lunatone and Solrock, the occasional Skorupi, Wooper and staryu in the water. Some Elgyem, a flock of flying Minior, and you're pretty sure to have seen a Clefairy from afar.

The local pokemons doesn't interest you that much. You advance on the road, turn toward a farm leaning against the mountain wall.
The place is fenced, with a few cattle here and there. It's quite huge. You can see a few dozen of people outside, men, women, children. They all sport the same cloth, a long off-white kind of bure.

You advance toward the gate of the property, quite unsure. The place is giving you really bad vibes. There is something strange in the attitude of people. A middle-aged woman noticed you, and step closer at the gate.
"Hello, delivery from the mart. I have your tyres
- My, Thanks a lot. Would you fancy to come inside and get some tea for your trouble?"
The woman seems nice and really peacefull. A kind of soothing glow emanate of her. Strangely, this doesn't feel safe for you at all. However, your pokedex seems to indicate the most powerfull trainer here only got 3 badges. One got 2, a few got one, but most don't seem to be registered. It shall be manageable at your current level, if the worst had to happen.
What do?

The ambience is a bit tense at the bar.
Turns out, Clémentine, Lucas and Léa failed.
Léa seems to don't care that much, but Lucas started brooding again. Maxine being with the other purely to rub it into the day's loser face doesn't seems to help though.
Discussion is going on about next steps. There seems to have 2 possibilities : stay around a bit more, giving Clémentine a shot at the fire gym, and maybe one for Blaise, Maxine and you too or leaving to another town.
You also have to consider adding a new member to your team

Discussion about team building are encouraged. If it happens during adventure downtime and you decide to grind, I'll allow a few rolls (one every 2 days) for XP/EV .
>>
>>5058695
Well we can keep looking in the volcano place for rare pokemon, maybe even see if we can bait them out with our bone stuff. Do we need to get a new saddle once Tensendur becomes a rapidash? We could reach a lot more places by using Flash Fire to run on lava.

I kinda still want a dark/poison critter, but I also don't see any sort of synergy between our current mons and I dunno how to sort that out.

We should definitely be getting some money and levels though, take our time raising affection and getting the usual held item suspects.
>>
>>5058718
Yves performed amazing Leatherwork so no need to upgrade the saddle. However, if you want to run on lava, better get a Magma Suit.
Remember to try to choose between staying at Clerk-Mountsmith and going to another town
>>
Someone bring me up to speed, what happened so far in this quest? any memorable events?
>>
>>5058942
For now, versus the handle post, traded Kokonuts for a Sap Sipper Marowak, got Psychic badge, met some weird people at a farm : all dressed the same way with some kind of white bure, and a bit cutted off society.
There also might be something strange in the wood south of the town, with a place containing moving rocks.
Right now, time to make a decision regarding where to go next, and what pokemon adding to the team.

Going South toward Velayswell, getting back to the town you came from
Going East toward Saint-Stephen, with plant and steel gym. This would allow you to pursue the road toward either MartialHill or Ajaxcity, as you prefer

Tensen can walk on lava. But in the setting, lava is "reallly hot cheese" like in dnd, so hot it can cook you if you stand a few meter close to it. So even if Tensendur would be fine, yourself and your bag won't. Leather has been made to withstand Tensendur's mane so Saddle is Heatproof

After discussing with the friends, you choose to go West. After all, you've heard of the sea but never really went itside. You will have to hike across the mountains for this though, passing nearby the strange farms of earlier, walking through it and join the road. Plenty of time to train before getting back to civilisation.
There is still the matter of your shiny new pokeball. That, and you have a plant-type pokemon benched at the professor's.

You spent one week trailing through the mountains and plains.
Your friend all scattered, you usually find each other the evening for setting up camp. Land goes from tree-covered Mountains to grassy hills to sun-striken plains. You're quite close to the next town, Wateredge, where you plan to challenge the champion for the Water badge, your 4th one. Every one of you have been training quite hard on the way, next champion is supposed to have a 5-team of 36 level with 38 limit, full items. You spent time with your team, evolving Pinekiss, training all of them but more specifically Charmy which turned into a big scary skeleton.
Once you're a couple hours away from Waterdeep, your pokedex chimes.
"You. Me. Fight."
Maxine still haven't any clue on how to start politely a conversation. And that mean an lot coming from a girl that spent a whole chunk of the part of the life where you learn socializing in a frickin cult.

Welp, looks like you made it to the city. There's even possibilities to find some place to actually wash and do laundry. Nice. You're smellling like a herd of Garbodor right now. Near the town, there are fields. Lots of fields. Specifically, wineberries. The town itself got an old, medieval-looking center and more modern surroundings, with the hugest Harbor you've ever seen. It might be the first one, but still it's damn big. From what your Pokedex says, this place is the main continental place you can take a ferry to Unova from.
You head toward the Poke center, heal your team, walk out. A crowd managed to gather and cause a commotion while you where inside.
"Rendre Kalos Grand à nouveau!"
"A bas la suprématie Kanto-Unovienne!"
"La ou chacun de nous va, nous allons tous!"
The gang sports matching clothes featuring big embroded Q letters. They hold pannels with pictures of an old man, and some of a young man with the face crossed in red and the message "Yapan, Fou'l camp!"
One of the guy, dressed up as an Antiquity legionary, walks to you and say :
"Si t'es pas avec nous, t'es contre nous. Rejoins nous ou accepte les conséquences."
Damn, no clue what that guy is saying, but he's definitely waiting for an answer. What do?

Regarding staying here, I'll go back to my team's lab at Clerk-Mountsmith tomorrow, so I'm afraid you won't be able to stay here anymore after this night."
You tell him about the day.
"Well, your pokemons seems to have already grown a fair bit, you should be ready for 1st level gyms. Although, I'd advise you to try to get a stronger species one with your next ball. Else, you might seriously struggle".
You follow then on asking him about the cults.
"Well, not much more on my side. A little bit of digging tells me that Azad from the light children's sect had his big faith reveal on the mountains not so far from Clerk-Mountsmith. Regarding what you told me, you were probably in a town with medieval undertown. Three town are known for their underground : Velayswell, Clerk-Mountsmith and Frameson. "

A range of options flash in your brain as the guy is looking at you with some mix of expectations and anger in his gaze. Your first reflex would be to say you don't speak Kalosian, but then you remember what Professor Pommier said about QuillAnons. You almost want to shout "Go, Roger Quilliot!" but not sure how they will react as you don't know what they just said.
"Bonjour, Je m'appelle Purple, j'aime bien les tartines beurrées", you try in your best Kalosian.
There is a big break in the conversation. You can feel the shift of focus on the crowd from global indignation towards everyone to way too much attention centered on you.
"'l'est complètement schtarbée, elle?
-Non, elle est handicapée, on se moque pas, t'as vu comme elle parle?
- Bande d'abrutis, elle est Unovienne!
- Ouais, mais elle à l'air de faire des efforts..."
The crowd starts arguing among themself.
The guy in strange clothing :
"Petite, tu fait partie du problème. Comme Danjark il y a fort longtemps, je vais bouter les envahisseur hors du royaume."

"Peurple, Watch out!"
Good timing, Blaise. Your friend made it to the town right now. Lucas and Léa are fending of the crowd, Clementine using her team to try to heal them.
"Ok, let's try to get this guy together!"
>QuillAnon Admin Emile Cousin wants to fight!
"I'll Make Kalos Great Again"

All the pokemons seems to rush toward their opponent. First, Talonflame nimbly dashes at Torterra
>Torterra is at 31%
Then, while Tensendur is running at Greninja, the frog skillfully launch a wave of water blades. 2 of them hit.
>Tensendur is at 35%
Tensendur bash into Greninja, surrounded by fairy energy. It's really effective, but the strength difference shows.
>Greninja is at 50%
Leonardo the water torterra surround its energy and hurl a landslide at the opponents. The greninja backflips out of the range, but the hit lands right on talonflame.

Excadrill then hit your poney pokemon. The sharpen clawed of the sword dance, the mole pokemon rushes at your Tensendur. You clench your teeth in front of the crualty of the attack. The pokeball's auto-protective feature triggers, recalling your pokemon before serious damages occurs.

"Exagide, Finish it with a shadow ball!

Your terrifying dragon is the fastest. Gathering spectral energy, one hit is enough to take the sword pokemon down.

>You defeated QuillAnon Admin Emile Cousin.
"We'll make Kalos Great again. We'll take down the usurper and make Mr Quilliot our King!"

Even defeated they still seems to want to talk shit.
On the side lanes, your friend dealt with the situation.
Special mention to Lea, handling 2 trainers at once. One of them, wearing a knight armor has been blocked by her horrible Slowpoke-galar "Funbro" set. You're actually quite concern the guy would get an heart attack because of the anger and stress caused by the fight. The other one seems like he was swept by... A level 1 shuckle among all things?
>You would really need to ask her about those kind of sets and find contingency plans regarding that; you are far from sure being able to deal with her for now
"Ah merde, 22 v'la la championne! kassos!"
You understand the universal call of low-life fleeing in front of authority, although the vocabulary is unorthodoxal.
"Manaphy, Scald!"
A strange girl is running toward the pokemon center. Following her, a pokemon giving you vibes like the ones that saved you a while ago.
The water move hits one of the running thug, throwing him on a wall. You hear a crack. That one attack might have been a little too much.

For one second, you want to throw the banana peel from your lunch to try stopping one of them. But you prefer handle things yourself.
>Purple used Tackle on the armored guy! it's super effective!
The weird admin turned his back to you and started fleeing. Rookie mistake, you dive hand first, clench your arms around his shin bones and press your shoulder on the back of the knee. In a split second, you hear two crashes. FIrst one comes from tin can guy, that won't get up soon as some of his armor stuff seems quite cheap and bent, hindering is mobility.
Other one comes from behind you. From what you get, Blaise got same idea as you but the aforementionned banana peal dropped from your backpack and got him down.
