A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=beU1YLHOj0A

You are SB-62, informally known as STUD BUCKET. After a long period of transient deactivation in the snowy reaches of the icy colony planet CRONDRE, you have awoken at last to a galaxy changed from the times you knew during the Clone Wars. The GALACTIC REPUBLIC ceased to exist two decades ago, and ruling in it's place is the oppressive GALACTIC EMPIRE. Now it's up to you to revive the CONFEDERACY OF INDEPENDENT SYSTEMS and try to make a change to this dark future, and with a little help, you might just be able to.

RECAP: Previously on Battle Droid Quest...
Ambushed at night, you found old and worn faces of the past living in the snowy thralls of Crondre. Clone Trooper veterans who fought in the Clone Wars much like you, belonging to the Wolfpack. You held conversation with the leader of these remnants, CC-3872, better known by his nickname Papa. It was through him and his fellow Clones that you were able to discover much about the past of General Merxelles, including the invention of the prototype Ultra Tactical Droid the General seeks now.

Before the planet can be liberated from the Moff's regime, two obstacles must be cleared. The Dark Jedi Rundo must be dealt with, and the Ultra Tactical Droid prototype body retrieved for Merxelles' use. Taking a detachment of Battle Droids along with you and your companions, you set off to search the far horizons of the planet in an effort to locate the crash site of the supply ship that once carried the Ultra Tactical.

"Hmnk...."

"Ah, I see, you are a man of few words, not that I take issue. Though, your previously extended notice betrayed the thought in my mind. And speaking of the reason you're here, I must remind you it is not yet... truly confirmed, merely a rumor. Though, you may rest assured, if the suspect indeed does turn out to be the... "Oh, I believe I understand."

"That is my purpose. I create adherents to the Dark Side, aspirant prophets and fledgling truth officers. That is why I came as soon as I learned of the existence of this Rundo. I will break him, that is who I am."

"Uxcerr Khan, the Emperor's Breaker, and obedient son. I am the hammer itself."

"Certainly. It is my pleasure to have you on board, Inquisitor."

"If this rumor surrounding the boy proves true.... then you have my word, I will crush every last Rebel hiding in this sector. All opposition to your rule... will disappear."

"Excellent, excellent... then for both of our sake, let us look forward to the hearsay proving so."

"I REPEAT, I SAID, TALZ SPECIES-"

"Nooooouuuuuhhhhhhh! I don't want to march out in the snow! My battery won't laaasssst!"

"Quit being a whiny store product, PHU-99, it's the Colonel's call! What I'm worried about is if we'll get to kill anything! I want to shoot up a bunch of Clones and whatever else right now! My motors are pumped! I'm, uh, what was it again...?"

"ARE YOU GUYS EVEN LISTENING TO ME? I JUST SAID THERE WAS A-"

"Oh yeah, now I remember! Psyched, that's the word I was looking for. I'm psyched to kill!"

"I'm not, I don't wanna go walking for hours. Just look at how big it is out there, it's too muuuuuch! Ouhhhhh!"

"GUYS SERIOUSLY, WHY DID YOU PUT ME ON THE DRK-1 SCANNER IF YOU AREN'T GOING TO LISTEN TO ANYTHING I HAVE TO SAY."

"Alright! Pipe down!" You say, calming your fellow Battle Droids, alleviating the stress of having to hear them run like broken holo-records. "-Cognac, what can you tell me about Talz?"

"...Sure got a bunch of mood swinger droids to take with you..... Okay, Talz are your friendly tundra aliens I suppose. I haven't personally met a lot of them, but I do know they don't have a concept of ownership, they will take things without asking from you, but it's okay to them because they always put it back? Ah, and they can rip the arms off a full grown Man... dolorian like me with minimal effort. Yeah."

Splendid. Another question you have is why a Talz village is even here in the first place. You must be at least a day or two away from the Foundry since you departed with your Droids and companions. It's been a boring two days, but at least Dugok has games.

"Uh, Colonel, I have a question. Why are there only like, eight of us?! Aren't there supposed to be way more Battle Droids than just this?!" The timid B1 designated PHU-99 asks.

"Good question. The General recommended I not have a bigger presence for concealment reasons. That doesn't however mean I agreed completely with it. You say.

"...Then why did you go along with it?!"

You raise a finger silently, and then lower it halfway, also silently.

"SIR, YOUR CALL FOR APPROACHING THIS SETTLEMENT? The Super Battle Droid to your left asks.

Maybe you should ask some opinions before making a concrete decision, you probably don't want to disturb the Talz, and cause a bloodbath of any kind....

This year is not lost! I had fear the autists had scared you away, but you have returned. Our parodical son!

>"...Then why did you go along with it?!"
Because of our finite resources, hence why we can only field a limited amount of droids at this given moment. I however wish we brought our personal disguised. We looked pretty swanker in that.

"Try to get one of the DRKs in as close as you can and stay out of sight. I want to know more of the layout before we act. Don't want to be caught by surprise if Talz isn't the only thing we're dealing with here." You order the Super Battle Droid handling the DRK scanner device.

"ROGER ROGER."

You stand in place awaiting the further results as you tap a foot. You glance at Cognac, and the Mandalorian just shrugs.

"Can always try to find a way around if we're assed, mate. Or, if it comes to a fight-" He taps his holster. "The blaster solves anything. But only if they attack first."

Nodding, you look back to the Super, who fiddled much harder with the device for a moment before looking up and turning to you.

"SIR. PROBE DESTROYED."

"What? Destroyed? What happened? I told you to stay out of sight!"

"I DID SIR, BUT IT LOOKS LIKE THEY HAVE A SNIPER. THE PROBE WAS DESTROYED IN ONE SHOT. SNIPER POSITION ATOP THE ICE RIDGE FURTHEST BACK, IN A TOWER. RECALLING DRK-1 UNITS TWO AND THREE TO AVOID ADDITIONAL LOSS..."

Damn it! That's just fantastic, one of the few recon probes Merxelles provided was gone. You'd have to take extra care not to lose the other two, they didn't make Droids like those anymore, you think.

Taking a moment to excuse yourself, you march up to the cockpit of Dugok's mobile home, Ceedee was whirring crazily at you as you pass by from the electronics cubicle, but you have to ignore her right now.

Dugok takes a puff of his pipe, pressing a button to vent the smoke out of the cockpit and clear it as you stepped in, turning to say- "What can I help you with, Studs?"

"Dugok, there was a Talz in Sprawl, wasn't there?"

"Mhm, there was. Karadocoppa. He ran that cantina I went to a lot."

"What can you tell me about their species. It seems we'll be running up on a village of them in the next mile, so you might want to slow the Juggernaut a little."

"Oh boy, a village 'eh? Couldn'a seen that coming. I'll slow it." He snorts. "Well, about the Talz? I learned a bit from Karadocoppa. He ain't like the others, chose to go his own way and dodge tribal customs and stuff. Talz are a very primitive and tribalistic people, and also not really supposed to be anywhere but their homeworlds. Alzoc III and, uh, Or... Orto something. Empire sends them back."

"That sounds strange."

"No 'kiddin. Karadocoppa would just tell people he's a Wampa though and the Imperials believed him, not like they're gonna verify out here at Crondre. Talz are easy to anger, generally, but keep your cool and they'll keep theirs, they don't usually like sappy attitudes or rudeness."

Dugok thinks for a moment. "...Come to think 'offit, Karadocoppa did mention his village being on Crondre. Maybe we found his old home, we might be able to pass as erh, acquaintances of his if you let me do the talking. But that depends on whether or you wanna try going through them. It'd take us days to find a way around with how tall n'long those ice shelves ahead are. But if you wanna try talking to them, we could use a flare to signal them, I should have one somewhere around here..."

Up for consideration.

Oh, Cognac is calling you back, he says he's got a plan and it involves sneaking at night. Ceedee is still beeping at you over something. Probably just more perversion, which is why you've simply taken to trying to zone her out from now on.

>What will you do?

"BWEE-BEE-BEE-BI!"

"...."

Trying to be as nonchalant to her as possible, you try to pass by back down the length of the Juggernaut to Cognac, but Ceedee interposes her arm in the way, which nearly trips you. You don't hold it back anymore.

"Oh, for the love of...! What is it?!" You dignify her incessant beeping then.

The T-3 doesn't seem the least bit fazed by your outburst, and rather than thirst upon you again as before, she directs your attention to the monitors of the cubicle she handled for Dugok.

"What is th... You've found a signal? From the village?"

Frack. If only you'd payed more attention to her this time. Well, at least now you know. Dugok's satellite must be picking it up, so these Talz have something giving it off, meaning they aren't completely primitive. Whatever kind of tech could they have that gives it off?

But what's even more interesting is that this signal is a Holonet transmission frequency of some manner, an un-indexed one away from the prying eyes of Imperial networks as well...

"Can you send a message through to it? See if anyone picks up?" You ask Ceedee

"BRI-BI-BI-BOP"

She says she already tried, but the frequency, being outside of typical Holonet index, only receives from more archaic band types. Whatever that mumbo-jumbo techy stuff means. Dugok's current satellite can send to and receive from some of these outdated band types, but not whatever one the signal from the village uses. She says it may exist in her aged directories as a practically ancient T-3 unit, but finding it will take a long time as she goes through each and every single band type she knows off her data, trying them all through the satellite by plugging herself up to link with it directly.

"How long will it take to find the right one?"

"PI-PI-RII-BOOP..."

She can't accurately answer, but she says it will take a week for her to reach the end of her directory, at which point she'll have tried everything from the first to the last. You don't have a week! Great Force, nobody does! You were told by Merxelles after departure that if your search yielded nothing within a week's time, you were to return to the Foundry.

There has to be some way to speed up her sorting process... did she need a little motivation?

Well, you have an idea.

"Hey, Ceedee."

Ceedee pauses for a moment, then swirls her head around to look up at you.

"I'm sure you can do better than that. A week just to find one file? That's outdated."

"BRI-TU-TU-TUUN."

"Wha- Ye- I mean, I know you're literally outdated but that wasn't what I- Er, that's not the point, you're misunderstanding! Uh!"

"BRRIIIIIIRRRRRRGHHH!"

"No, no! I wasn't insulting you. Look, all I'm saying is, uh, you're better than that! Really! You're the best Astromech in the galaxy, I'm sure you could do better!"

Ceedee rolls her eye at the flattery and looks away, a puffy noise from coursing air through her head's internals sounding almost like a rough 'Hmpf' to your receptors. You kneel slightly and put a hand over her shoulder to reason.

"Remember how you helped me repair this section? That was all you, I couldn't have done it otherwise! You really are talented! No lie."

Ceedee glances back at you. "BRI."

"And smart, really smart, a whole lot smarter than me. And tough too, since you're still operating to this day."

"....PI-DE-BOO..."

"And... and you're the most gorgeous Droid I've ever seen too!"

Ceedee reverberates with a hum and tilts side to side slightly as she raises her chin, feeling a bit proud over your words. So proud, that a spark of electricity dances over her manipulator plugged into the antenna console. You were spooked for a moment, but came to realize she was simply pumping more power into her scan. Bleeping happily, she seems confident that she's found the file and proceeds to open a communication channel over Dugok's receiver.

"See? I told you so. Good work, Ceedee. You say, patting her on the head.

"Who the hell is this? Our delivery boy doesn't message us on this date. How did you tap into this channel?!" A rather suspicious voice says over it.

Oh, that's right, it's on now since Ceedee opened it.

"Answer the question. Who, are, you? Are you an Impie dog? Pirate fracker?"

"Why don't you tell me who you are first, pal?"

"Lick my boot soles, kriffhead."

"Well you already went off anyway. For clarification, I am NOT Imperial, so don't worry about it. Besides, would an Imperial be talking with you or going in shooting?"

"Yeah, what do you think a 'false sense of security' is, genius? Obviously an Imperial would try to be sleek and infiltrate. They all think they're so smart, huh. Well, they're not getting past me, or my sniper. Which, by the way, I'm ordered to use on anyone who isn't Talz entering the village, cause otherwise we'd know if someone was coming. You cannot possibly just be a wanderer, a wanderer'd be dead by now, and wouldn't have the means to talk through this relay."

"Well, you got that right. I'm not a wanderer, I'm a Droid. Let's just say, me and my tag-alongs represent a third party, and we don't intend you any harm. I'm on a mission to search for something."

"....You're a droid...? Uhh....."

The channel goes silent then, the speakers on it cutting the feed. You felt a bit annoyed at this, shrugging to Ceedee when she rang with a questionable tone up at you. Did they really intend to simply end the conversation and keep up their defensive and hostile stance. You weren't ready to give up just yet, so you wait a bit.

In the following minutes, the channel comes back on as they reciprocate the message. However, this time, a different and feminine voice speaks, the one you heard faintly in the background.

"Hello? Are you still there?"

"Yep."
>>
"Oh, alright. Listen, I apologize for Baixley's attitude, he just really takes his job seriously. Anyway, I'm Guna. As you could probably tell from his loose lips, we're apart of a cell, the Rebel one in this sector to be more specific."

"I thought so. Hey, I actually know some Nelvaanians who help Rebels here on Crondre personally."

"Mm? The only Nelvaans I really know to exist here are the Kapaches, if you know them, that's good. As for me and Baixley, we're both keepers of a cache, the head trainer in Crondre City usually sends his trainees to deliver smuggled weapons here so we can stockpile them in storage here. We're keeping them in preparation for a wider rebellion when the time comes. As for the Talz, their village was founded by some who fled their homeworld Alzoc III to search for a new place in the universe. The Empire... enslaves them. This village is a free place for them, they let us stay since us Rebels help keep them out of Imperial sight. Except for that stubborn Karadocoppa, he just had to leave."

"I get it. Uh, hey, listen, since I'm here searching for something, maybe you can help me find it. It's a big ship, like, really big. War era, it crashed somewhere out in the wastes supposedly?"

"About that, I think I may actually be able to help, but you're not going to like what I have to share..."

"Hit me."

Ceedee whirs around with a separate manipulator and smacks you on the rear end.

"Eyipe!"

"I take it you were searching for a huge Confederate vessel, right? Well, you've found it. It's remains were used to build the Talz village." Guna elaborates.

You cease to nearly bump Ceedee on the top of her head. "Wait... what?!"
>>
"I'm afraid it's true. The vessel crashed into a frozen lake and made a crater way back when from what we could tell. The remains sunk halfway into the ground level in the crater and got smashed to bits, forming tunnels of frozen underground passages. The intact upper halves frosted over, and the gigantic ice shelves, glacial wall and snowy hills you see now are what formed over it. The upper stratum of the ship is inaccessible right now, nobody has found or mined their way in yet. The smashed lower decks making the tunnels, the Talz used them as a passage way between the wall to the other sides of the wastes, but lately they've been closed since the... Blood Talz split off."

"Oh, great..."

"I hope it's not too disheartening. Lots of the scrap taken off the ship by the Talz mining in the underground passages remains up here, and we have lots of bits and pieces recovered lying around. I'm not sure what you're looking for exactly, but there are still some things. If the mines were safe, you could even go mining for more things to find yourself. Though, you'd have to be careful, there's some drop offs into dark sinkholes that claimed a few lives."

"....You mentioned something about blood, what's that mean?"

"Well, a number of younger Talz got fed up with the 'old ways' of the chief. They made their own tribe and split off, left through the mines and went off somewhere in the wastes on the other side of the glacier wall. Wasn't bad at first... but then they came back, and they'd been allied with some Wampas.... and they turned to cannibalism. They raided the mines, so now it's closed off. They aren't as many in number as the village, but these Blood Talz are still dangerous, and they want to fight."

"Even better..."

You wish you had Naa'diss with your expedition right now, you just have an inkling of a feeling that a Force using Jedi would go a ways for helping with what you heard. But at the same time, is there even a point in going on now? You've found Merxelles' crashed supply ship... but only what's left of it, the majority of the hulk apparently sealed off as well. This was worrying.

What will you tell General Merxelles if he calls, or you decide to give him an update? Should you try pressing on with the mission he gave you, to recover his especially important Cydroid? There's mad cannibalistic Talz and Wampas in the way!

This required some thought...

>What will you do?
>>
>>4966106
First, we should give Merxelles an update, see if there are any other orders now that we know the ship was taken apart, but other than that, i believe that we should press on with our mission. While they're still dangerous, since we're droids, we won't be as much of a target to those talz and wampas. Obviously, they'll still target us for weapons, but they're certainly not going to try to do it as much as if we were a whole party of food.

We should get that cydroid.
>>
>>4966111
We should also ask him what part of the ship his target was in, it may still be in the parts they haven't accesssed yet
>>
>>4966106
>>4966112
We should also ask for blueprints or a layout of the ship and its passages.

Also we need something to melt the ice inside and pump the water out or into the drop offs.
>>
>>4966123
We're not going to pump the entire thing out, we jsut need some stuff to know where to go and melt through any ice walls.
>>
>>4966124
Maybe not, but it would really be nice to have the tools on hand if we need them. Plus earn good will if we leave the stuff for the "natives" to help us clear the ship or make some sort of deal.
>>
>>4966106

perhaps a upgrade of snow/ice shoes would be good
like literally just clamp on rows of jagged metal so we get some good grip
and i think we should go in our disguise so we seem more like a leader and not just a brainless droid and is there any language data base we have access too
>>
>>4966106
Update the general and see if he wants to make a deal with the locals to claim the ship or something.
>>
>>4966106
Huh. Turns out I was wrong and they ARE the rebel cell. Level real quick for clarification, it's the Talz and NOT the Pirates now living in the ship?

>>4966111
Backing this I guess. Our whole deal was to get the CARGO on the ship, maybe it's still there? I'm sure the Talz can be reasoned with to part with it... or absolute WORSE case scenario the Blood Talz took the prototype Cydroid brain and worship it as some kind of dark god.

Also ask the Talz what happened to the Pirates we had heard were living in the ship.

>>4966172
Oh def, trade for some snow cleets or something
>>
>>4966376
There's no pirates down here, they took up residence on Merxelles' munificent cruiser, this supply ship is different
>>
>>4966471
Ooooh, okay I see. In which case we could maybe form some kind of agreement with the rebels? I mean, who's going to say no to a droid foundry? That is if they haven't already been informed by Naa'dis and put two and two together...

In a time like this, you were given specific instruction for who to consult, so you got to that as you had Ceedee shut off the line with the Rebels. Pulling out the communicator, you opted to talk with the General.

"General sir, I have important information."

"I'M WELL AWARE. IT IS UNFORTUNATE WHAT BECAME OF THE SUPPLY SHIP, HOWEVER STILL BENEFIT TO ME THAT YOU'VE LOCATED IT."

Ah, that was right, the communicator was two-way, Merxelles was always listening in onto your journey, as creepy as that was.

"Well, what do you suggest?"

"CLEARLY, YOU WILL CONTINUE THE MISSION, YOU'VE COME TOO FAR TO TURN BACK NOW. TAKE SOME CLARITY IN THE FACT THE UPPER DECKS SURVIVED, ACCORDING TO THE REBELS. THE LABORATORY WHERE THE UD-T SHOULD BE AT IS LOCATED WITHIN DECK B-2, WHICH IS IN THE UPPER STRATUM. YOU MAY HAVE TO PASS THROUGH THE COMMAND BRIDGE AND LOWER CONNECTOR SHAFT BETWEEN BOTH SECTIONS OF THE SUPPLY SHIP. I'M SENDING YOU BLUEPRINTS TO THIS SPECIFIC CLASS OF SHIP NOW. USE THEM."

That settled that then. If the mission was still possible, then you'd have to carry on.

"But wait, wasn't there more to get here?"

"SEPARATE CARGO WITH MATERIALS AND OTHER SCHEMATICS. WE MAY HOLD OFF ON IT FOR NOW. ACQUISITION OF MY PROTOTYPE IS PRIORITY."

"Understoo-"

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!"

".....Uh?! General? What was that?! It sounded like somebody screaming...!"

"....THAT, IS MERELY THE SOUND OF PROGRESS. FOCUS ON THE MISSION."

Just then, General Merxelles shut off the line, but you were still mighty curious. You guessed now wasn't the time to pester any further though...

Cognac was a bit disappointed he wouldn't be able to undergo any stealth action this time. You had informed Dugok to go on ahead to the village after asking the Rebels for permission to enter.

Blood Talz and Wampas or not, you had a mission and you couldn't exactly abandon it now. You were prepared to deal with the Rebels and see what mutual outcome could be achieved.

The Talz Village was spread out over the area, and there were many of the tundra aliens gathered around to stare in curiosity at Dugok's Juggernaut as the huge vehicle rolled up to a stop at the edge of their village, you disembarking along with Cognac and some of your Battle Droids. Although, you took the precaution to have them holster their weapons first to show no signs of aggression to the easily-provoked Talz.

The Village seemed to have a chief of sorts watching from a higher hill with a big headdress, but the aliens seemed content to let the Rebels talk with your party rather than get directly involved. They must have invested a lot of trust in the Rebel members here.

The two Rebels were quick to greet you. The human named Baixley of which kept a close eye on your every movement with his sniper blaster leaning on his shoulder. The grey-skinned near-human named Guna waved politely.

"Huh, you really are a Droid. Well, at least you were honest." The Human grunted.

"Yeah. From the looks of it, you've got quite a force backing you up. I'm just glad you didn't decide to attack the moment Baixley shot one of your probes. Sorry about that."

"It's no problem." For you at least. The General though?

"-I still intend to delve into that ship any way I can. The contents are important to my boss and absolutely must be recovered."

"Oh? You still want to go into the mines...-" Guna shivered a bit at the thought. "-Look, I'd gladly let you if it were safe, but as it stands, we can't risk giving the Blood Talz a way to get through the village. The Talz put up a big barrier of rubble."

"I'm sure we can find some compromise or way to deal with the Blood Talz together."

"We actually would have by now, it's just that the other Talz themselves... would rather use a spear than the blasters we stockpile here. They won't learn either, since they consider those weapons to be... 'dishonorable'."

"We should just go in and clear the mines. These Droids would give us enough manpower to, Guna!" Baixley says. "And we could even arm them with some of the better weapons in our cache!"

The near-human alien clenches her temple in seeming frustration. "Baixley, you know we aren't supposed to be touching those weapons either too! If the organizer's found out, they'd put us off world! And how many times must I tell you, rushing in there bull-headed will just get people killed! The mines are tight! We need a longer-term solution..."

"We've been twiddling our thumbs here doing nothing! What if the Blood Talz break through the normal Talz' barrier any day now? People would get killed then too! We gotta take care of the problem asap! Hey, Droid! Make you a deal, if you give us your minions to keep and use against the Blood Talz, I'll let you enter those mines as much as you want and take whatever you need." Baixley offers then.

You'd really need Merxelles' permission to deal in regards to the Droids you have, but he won't answer the communicator at this time...

>What will you do?
>>
>>4968073
This guy does not at all know how to lead droids. If we hand them over they'll die uselessly.
>>
>>4968073
>You'd really need Merxelles' permission to deal in regards to the Droids you have, but he won't answer the communicator at this time...
You mean he won't answer even if we ping him several times? Well that's his own bloody damn fault then.

>"And we could even arm them with some of the better weapons in our cache!"
if those were from the Frigate, technically those belonged to us to begin with, but we will take you up on that offer. We can also possible deal with the Blood Talz for you guys.
Would any of you happen to have a stockpile of riot/mustard gas or air based vector weapons? Us being droids we can fill in the mines with toxic gas with no problems on our end, but not so much for the Blood Savages. We'll need put in a meeting between you guys and my boss in regards to mining privileges of the frigate later on though.

>>4968038
Make a note to get everyone their own communicators, and ask Dugok to make our communicator less transparent so or boss can't eaves drop on us. I'm worried about Naa'dis and I'm pretty sure Mercs knows jack shit about actually training a Jedi.

"Listen, if you tried to clear those mines out yourselves, it would be a bloodbath. Droids are expendable by design. Our droids are the best possible option to clear out the caves. I'll call in reinforcements, your weapons might be useful depending on the type, we assault the mines and extract our equipment, then we leave. I'd rather carry out a genocide against the Blood Talz, not loan you some troops to help guard against them."

>>
>>4968073
I got an idea. We can suggest to Guna to set up an ambush outside for the Blood Talz and fortify the outside perimeter. We can weaken the barrier so they get brave enough to charge, and when they do we'll light them up.
>>
Bothersome the General wouldn't pick up at this time, however, he could be busy with something pressing. Maybe he'd be available soon, and as always, he was still undoubtedly listening.

"I can't exactly let you have my other Battle Droids. There's no guarantee they'll obey you. And even if they did, you don't have the same degree of control over them as I do, meaning you could get them killed, even if you didn't mean to."

"Well, that blows. I mean, I only wanted to maybe have some new guards here after you got what you wanted. I guess we could let you borrow some weapons if you still help us clear out the Blood Talz, but you ain't keeping them on your way out." Comes Baixley.

"Regardless of whatever deals you guys want to strike, I'll just remind you that you can of course have anything from the mines, if they're safe. Though, I really wouldn't want anyone going down there. Even if you could deal with the Blood Talz easy, there's still the chance of running into one of the Wampas, and believe me, they're quite resilient beasts." Guna says.

Fair enough to you. Though, there has to be an easy way to dispose of the mines' hostile activity without incurring loss to anyone... But what about melting any ice that could be down there?

"Do you guys have any flamethrowers?"

"We have some, but they're in disrepair, they just blow a bunch of smoke out."

Smoke? Hey, squishies like them can't really breath that stuff in, can they? They aren't made of metal like you and your other Droids. That's a good idea! You could flush the mines full of smoke and suffocate anything down there easily, your Droids don't require oxygen!
>>
Guna doesn't seem to like that idea either however once you bring it up. She argues that pockets of the stuff could clot in the mines and make it unsafe for future use by the good Talz. The flamethrowers they had used a different kind of gas, the smoke could be residual outside of places that reached the outdoors air. The mines below were deep. Baixley agrees with your notion to use smoke however, since your Droids could accomplish it effectively, as none of them have any filtration against smoke or other harmful airborne agents.

Cognac interjects then, he raises a point about simply catching the Blood Talz off guard. Set up a defensive killzone around the mine's entrance and give them a red herring to make them break through and run into it. He says there's enough of them to completely drown anything in blaster bolts depending on how good the armaments of the Rebels' cache is. Guna seems more inclined to this idea, but Baixley doesn't like the stall in time.

You need to decide which plan you'll go with. Once the mines are clear, you can see about digging your way into the ship then. One problem at a time.

>What will you do?
>>
>>4968337
Both? Go in to draw them out, then fake a retreat and have them charge us in our kill zone.
>>
>>4968337
>She argues that pockets of the stuff could clot in the mines and make it unsafe for future use by the good Talz.
That's okay! They could buy some resperators later down the line, or we could help build something to deal with the gas (thee Foundry, but they don't need to know that just yet).

This guy >>4968371 has the right idea. Gas them out at first to agro and debilitate them (can't see through smoke, hard to breath, hard to smell, panic inducing), they'll eventually start rushing up to the surface into our Killzone.
Once the kill zone team mops off the panicked Blood Talz, the droid team can go back down to double down on the smoke in case we missed any pockets of resistance.
>>
>>4968371
>>4968409
The difference as the guy with the sniper pointed out is that setting up an ambush takes time and we don't know how long it will take. Merxelles might want us to get back sooner than later so we should probably pick a concrete choice here. In which case I say go ahead and smoke them.
>>
>>4968518
Gassing people out of tunnels also takes time. It can't be any harder then finding entrances, hunkering down near them, then shooting at anything non-droid shaped.
>>
>>4968337
Why not gass the mines, but also draw them into an ambush? Obviously, if the mines are gassed, they're going to try to leave. And when they do, we can open freefire at them.

The fact that they're being gassed means they most likely won't think well enough, and even if they did, they'd have no choice. We'll be flushing them out of the entire complex and right into the barrels of our guns.

Furthermore, as the other anon said, it would be possible to later acquire respirators. In the end, yes, it would be wise to wait some more until after to see the smoke dispell, but otherwise, it's the best way to lose the least amount of casualties. Wampas are fucking tough.
>>
I think you guys are failing to account for the fact they said the mines also lead out back to another place separated from the village by the crashed ship, its a division. We could waste time setting up an ambush they won't run into because they could just leave back to wherever they came from.
>>
>>4968639
True, but if they do come out, it's better to have them ready. Either way, we'll be flushing them out.
>>
>>4968615
i like this idea and we could also possibly manufacture a sort of fan filter combo later and if the mines have such bad air circulation that it cant clear up the smoke means it would still passively fill up with carbon dioxide and other heavy waste gasses that would eventually fill up the mine and kill anyone in there with enough time rendering it into the same as our smoking plan but slower
>>
>>4968337
>if the mines have such bad air circulation that it cant clear up the smoke and be rendered unusable means it would still passively fill up with carbon dioxide and other heavy waste gasses that would eventually fill up the mine and kill anyone in there with enough time rendering it into the same as our smoking plan but slower and without telling

To come to a compromise with the two Rebels, you mull over the options for a minute and come to a more neutral conclusion. You suggest the enactment of both plans to the Rebels, drawing a mixed reaction. Immediately, they must point out some flaw, such as the Blood Talz being able to avoid your maneuvers by simply retreating to their own territory.

But, Guna reckons with how many tunnels wrap around in the mines, complex to a point where the original diggers couldn't even properly map it, it was still possible for a Blood Talz straggler to rush out to the village. In which case, some defenses to take them off guard with would be prudent. But not a 'whole lot'. That seemed good enough to you.

That plan was drawn, your Droids had plenty of battery charge. You'd instruct them to follow Guna's lead in setting up some fortifications under the OOM in your charge, and you'd have Cognac ready on them to fire alongside the Rebels. It would just be you and your Droids delving down there for the next parts to come.

For now, Baixley offers to show you a few of their armaments and leads you into their main cache storage. These weapons could be used by you for now, but you'd have to return them later.

The Rebel cache included some common firearms, and a few high end pieces. The most numerous Blasters among the stockpile being A280s, and DH-17 rifles. They had at least two heavy blaster pistol types, such as the DL-44. A scattergun could be seen here and there, along with Mandalorian pattern Carbines requisitioned through a black market. The malfunctioning smoke-blowing flamethrowers they had would go to your troops to wield.

You took your time carefully examining the rows of weapons the Rebel cache had in store, in search of something you'd find suitable in the current throws of this village and the problems surrounding it. [REGISTERING NEW FEELING... :searching for definition: : :definition found:]
[PSYCHED]

You grabbed yourself a weapon known to be popular among the Bounty Hunters of the galaxy, and plenty of planetary defense forces for smaller governments and star polities. A blaster carbine.

"That'd be an EE-3. Mandolorians love that one. It can shoot fast, but its got a kick, keep that in mind and only fire it with both hands on the weapon. Don't wanna get thrown back, do you?"

"I'm sure I can handle it." You say, confident in your grip. The thing was only somewhat longer than E-5 rifles after all.

"If you say so. Think you got something 'goin on outside, maybe you should go check on that."

Nodding, you reach back and fit the EE-3 onto your back via the a magnetic seal used to keep backpacks on OOM units like yourself in place, or other assorted items.

You'd oversee the setup of barricades for the day, then at night, you'd lead the Droids into the mines on the mission you had.

"The preparations for evening's event have been finished, sir."

"Splendid. I'll need my other updates as well. Any word on the Inquisitor?"

"The Inquisitorius agent's ship passed the Captain's dock. His shuttle arrived an hour ago and he's been set up into an officer's suite, sir. He's ready to receive you when you are. Oh, and there were two other matters that require your attention, my Moff."

"Go ahead General."

"Sir, the Bounty Hunter you enlisted the help of was not reported to have left the system along any known routes. His Skipray ship you ordered sabotaged is still within the compound. The priority engine our eyes were keeping tab on has vanished along with the Bounty Hunter, we are not sure where currently. My informants report that a slave you met personally has failed to show up on schedule for duties, and has likewise gone missing. Last signs of this slave's rover have been covered by snowfall and a probe was unable to pursue any further. It's reasoned there could be correlation."

"I know this slave... His charming middle name was Csiron. I was anticipating him, a pity he's gone off. Likewise, this Bounty Hunter, his name is Cognac. I subtly had someone direct him to Csiron before I'd let him leave. And I had hired him to rat out the Rebels as well. Tch..."

"My Moff, clearly these deserters, both gone on the same day as it was, are now conspiring. I have all reason to believe they've gone off and joined the Rebel cell. I want to station a unit in a nearby town on the fringe in order to hunt them, with your grace."

"Hmm... well, before I get to that, what of the Senator?"

"Senator Ghudila requests a chat. It appears she learned of today's public event, possibly through one Army Sergeant whose lips weren't tight enough. I'll have the suspected man straightened out, but you'll need to decide something concerning the Imperial Senator before she tries bringing this to the Senate for a formal complaint."

"Hm. Imperial Senators have no power over a Moff, General."

-Determine the Moff's action for narrative effects-

1st Choice.
>"Dispatch the White Mountaineers unit to find the traitors in the tundra. A few good riders should do the trick."
>"Post some Shadowtroopers in the outskirt towns. That should dissuade further desertion of slaves."

2nd Choice.
>"Inform Senator Ghudila I will NOT be talking this evening. The executions are more important."
>"I'll have a word with the Senator before the events. Tell her to come onto hold, the people can wait a little."
>>
>>4972111

The first choice really bones us either way, since we'd either be banned from/stuck in town, or worse the mountaineers might find the foundry... fug it.

>"Post some Shadowtroopers in the outskirt towns. That should dissuade further desertion of slaves."
>"I'll have a word with the Senator before the events. Tell her to come onto hold, the people can wait a little."

This combo makes the most sense to me. Do we have any loose ends in town? Dugok, Naa'diss and Mim'vess are at the foundry, Cognac's with us... where's the old goat dude?

The problem is he knows there's a rebel cell somewhere on the planet. Finding that is more important than stopping people from leaving to join it, really. People don't need to leave to fight alongside the rebels when they come a knocking.

[Shadowtrooper raid on Foundry: Certified]
[Senator appeal denied: Possibility of Alien Stormtroopers locked, Alien support will be easier to gain in the future, Imperial Intelligence presence in Dufilvian Sector will increase over time unfortunately.]

"My Moff, with all respect, while the loud mouths of the Imperial Senate indeed sway no change in their favor concerning galactic affairs, their exploits and tirades more than often spread among each other as gossip talk, and these tirades may at times find way to the other Moffs who preside over these petulant Senators."

"So you would speculate me a target for ambition in the future?"

"It shouldn't be mere speculation. Already, you know the Captain has always been quite envious of your position, high in his space station over Filve. You know he does not share your more accepting view on... the non-human inhabitants of the Empire. Other Moffs out there similarly, do not like other species. If someone wanted to try and claim the title of Dufilvian Sector Moff, they'd need to oust you and need a good reason for why they should replace you. Perhaps some other neighboring Sector's Moff would think you're being simply against wider Imperial value, and suggest your discharge and merge of this sector with theirs to the Emperor's Advisors."

"I wouldn't worry, General. I've always been lenient to a reasonable point. Even now after we indeed learned the Captain sent that assassin from last year I killed after me, I allowed his stay, only for his competency and willingness to uphold Imperial Military primacy, which is the support beam of the Law. Many peoples live in this Galaxy and the Empire rules. This is not just a Coruscanti Empire, this is everyone's Empire. Duros' Empire. Twi'leks' Empire. Rodians' Empire. Nautolans' Empire... The sooner the rest of the nation accepts this, the better."

"Some would argue the fact that non-Coruscanti aren't allowed in the military is the sign of a certified xenophobic domain."

"Is the demographic of the Imperial Military not due to humans being notably competent and capable? Non-humans should be glad, they are granted the privilege to live peaceful lives all their life, and are never called upon to fight and die for the Empire, only asked to support it in other ways. They did not make such complaints of the Republic going on the same, exact path as the Empire does now with the Clones of old. Do you ever find that odd, General? Nevertheless, one day I am sure we will change that somehow, and the alien will be allowed to stand with human in one, unified Imperial force to protect the Galaxy..."

"Hnmm.... Your confidence is indeed fumigating, my Moff."

"Hm hm hm, I know~. Now, as for the former ordeal. I want you to dispatch some of my Elite Shadowtroopers to occupy a few towns for your movements."

"It will be done as soon as possible, my Moff, after I have hushed our Senator.... Oh, your madam awaits. I will leave you to this, governor sir."

"My Moffet, you are so beautifully dressed this evening."

"Hm, you know that isn't an official title, honey."

"Must that mean I am not allowed to treat my precious Suza? I know she loves to hear the honeyed words of her honey."

"You're a charmer, Dunsal...."

"..."

"...My little Moffet, why do you frown so? Yours is a face that should always smile brightly..."

"Honey... it is just that.... today's event you called for. I.... I just am not particular to seeing..... you know how I've always felt of deaths...."

"Moffet.... you know it was a desire of mine for a long time that you'd one day glimpse my work in its full. All that I have ever done in my career, was for you, my snow lily... I know, and always will know, your insights upon death. But, Suza, in order for the system to work..."

"...Certain people must die. Yes, I do understand, honey..."

"I pledge to you, and only because of you and our sordid past, that I will make a galaxy free of evil and undeserved deaths. We are here now, because you were my drive in life, my beautiful Suza. Yet, for all the time we have been Moff and Moffet, you retreated from my work. We are not attuned like that, though our love is unbreakable."

"....Must you really wish this, that I should see...? Is my approval alone not enough while turning my eyes away, my love...?"

>"You should not fear to have to avert your gaze, Moffet. I am bringing safety, dear. I wish you see what it is I do for yourself, with your own eyes. For when you should, you will the see the means by which streets have been protected. It will help you grow stronger, love."

Yeah, I might have tried a bit too hard to make small Godzilla feasible, since I know that's always been a fun fan idea, and the Dada happened to be aliens specializing in shrinking.

Spacegodzilla is definitely up next after the prison break if it's agreed I should continue it. Destroyah would be more endgame though as is tradition, the penultimate foe before the finale.

I don't feel like Dunsal would be the kind to force his wife to watch executions if she really didn't want to. He may act like a nutter but I don't think he truly is and it's all just his outlook on society.
Also judging by her darker her face looks, would I be right to assume he's landed himself a brown chick? Cause he got if she is.

As for whether or not you should switch it up with Godzilla quest, I went and read back up where ya left off, and I feel you left it in a good place, while Droid Quest is really revving up for something *big*, a real make or break type situation. Dunsal is a pretty damn lucky man. But i see no reason why she has to watch anything. She understands what we do is 'necessary'.

"You, are you compensated for your service in the Mandatory Labor Selective? Are you paid in good Imperial credits for your work? Then that is not slavery, that is a job, one that is sadly necessary due to the dire strait of the infrastructure and living conditions of this world. But one which will become obsolete as the quality of living improves and more jobs become available."
"As for you, you speak of an 'innocent civilian' who had just minutes prior incited a cantina brawl to sate their own drunken fixation on violence, who had been given ample warning to change their behavior before it would no longer be tolerated. How long until those outside the cantinas would be brutalized by them had they continued, how long until they had killed someone in a drunken rampage? My actions, however extreme to you, were justified in the name of protecting the many."
"And lasty... You... How are these laws... Insane as you say? Is it not right to maintain standards? Is it not right for beings to aspire higher for their quality of living than basic subsistence? When we arrived this planet was nothing but a backwater, a frigid resource world with little to offer the Trade Federation, such that they ignored anything more than your basic needs. Now, under the righteous and purposeful rule of the Empire, it flourishes more and more with each passing day. And you wish for us to leave, and take this prosperity with us, to leave your homes and livelihoods to tender mercies of the pirate bands that plague the Mid-Rim?"
"I stand here, staring at three terrorists who deny these basic facts and who would willingly kill hundreds to sate their fanatical political agenda. Terrorists who are willing to upend everything on this world just for some semblance of 'freedom' they never had, would the Separatists have been as lenient? No, they would have done far worse than executing three terrorists over a failed plot. Their crimes throughout the Clone Wars and the crisis that lasted nearly a decade before, of entire worlds, entire species, devastated simply because they refused to bend the knee to Dooku and his ilk, are clear evidence of such."

Can he at least be a shard fragment?

It would explain his ability to be more than a droid can handle.
>>
>>4978722
>shard fragment
That's dumb, though. Being a piece of the force itself? I don't like it.
>>
>>4978728
shards AREN'T a piece of the force.

They're literally silicon based lifeforms that exist as essentially large crystals.
Many are force sensitive, but they're just another star wars race. Technically they create new shards by growing them off themselves.

They can interface with any electronics relatively easily when given an ports they can be in contact with.
>>
>>4978728
https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Shard
>>
>>4978733
That makes absolutely no sense, though, why and how would a shard
1. Find it's way off Orax without being an Iron Knight
2. Come to this planet
3. Happen upon a droid battlefield
4. For some reason lodge itself on a random B1
5. Wait on said B1 until merxelle's activation code
6. Keep that B1s memories instead of assuming direct control

Seems like it'd be impossible, wouldn't it? Stud Bucket being a droid who somehow got a free-willed conscience through sheer error and F A T E sounds more reasonable to me.
>>
>>4978743
a consciousness beyond the capability of the droid seems impossible in universe.

A fragment that budded of a shard may have gotten in via someone else putting it in. Said shard would essentially be able take the memories of the droid via the interfacing plus the spark from the droid coming back to life with the initial "wakeup call".

It would explain B1's ability to think and act way beyond the capability of its processors/body
>>
>>4978749
But...why though?

Why with a random B1? And why would he not have his own personality? Budding off shards is how they reproduce.

It seems overly complicated and pointless.

Dunno... but B1s having comprehension, emotions, and skills beyond "roger roger" is even rarer than that. Especially upon an awakening.

For all we know, a wandering rogue of some sort took a shard bud to a known major combat field and put it in a droid for some reason. Give a bud a body as a promise to a shard.
>>
>>4978754
Yeah, but a random B1?

I'd say that it being a product of luck...or, more precisely, whatever is it that substitutes luck in this universe.
>>
>>4978754
Oooor, instead of this schizoposting Stud Bucket is simply self-aware, as most droids of at least decent intelligence are wont to become with time. Notably, several B1s throughout supplementary material have achieved this feat.
>>
>>4978792
does not help that b1 droid brains are amazingly cheap and shitty
>>
>>4978792
maybe, but I was under the impression that B1s relied on a remote processor to operate.

Early units yes, by the time of the Clone wars they generally featured built-in droid brains, albeit most were low quality cheap-ass ones. Most B1s never received memory wipes either due to the specialty programming they often gained in spite of the eccentric behavior caused by data overloads because the Trade Federation refused to either completely reprogram entire divisions worth of specialist units after giving them memory wipes or to pay more to give them higher performance droid brains.

Pft, inquisitors are the fodder of the evil force world. Just apply gun. If it doesn't work, apply bigger gun. Alternatively, lots of explosives. Over and over and over.

>>

There’s some rumors that Jar Jar was planned to be some kind of Sith agent in the prequel movies, but I think that idea for scrapped. Everyone acts like it would have been a master twist, but I think that would’ve been a subversion worthy of the latest trilogy. Which is to say, not very good at all and would likely make people angry.
>>

Considering his canonical characterization also made people exceptionally angry, I don't think it would matter if it would piss people off.

"Are you not compensated for your work in Mandatory Labor Selective programs? Were you not to be paid fairly in Imperial Credits for your work? That is not slavery, that is basic employment. Employment that is totally necessary in part to the rugged condition of infrastructure on this world, a colony, much less. This city should have been as big as the Empire has made it decades ago."

"None of us asked for this job, none of us were asked to do this job! We were just told we were going to do it! You can't just force us to work for something we don't want to! That IS slavery!" One of the Rebels argued back.

"What? You would rather we do ask you, to which you'll just decline on principle? To resist authority and be rebellious for no express purpose than to show your chin arrogantly? And for what reason? Because the government is not to your liking? Because this is not the Republic, the Confederacy or otherwise where you could get away with almost anything? Because this is the Empire, where there are final chances that, if violated, result in just and lawful punishment? Our tolerance has fallen for ignorance, we have wised up. You are asked to do a simple job, you'll be compensated for, one that you'll be released of when the job is finished. You people act as if you'll be chained in a dungeon for one hundred years when an Imperial asks something of you, you ungrateful louses!"

"We aren't given fair breaks!"

"Oh yes you are! And on top of that, premium food, beverage and unlimited access to the Holonet. You get three hours off of work every day, and seven hours of sleep. Sleep within air moderated quarters, with quality furnishings You have nothing to complain about."

"Your men punished us for slight mistakes!"

"Strange, I only recall punishments befalling those who purposely act out of line. Workers like you in specific. Does this really happen to the rest? No, they follow the rules. If there were any men of mine issuing punishments for no good reason, they would be dealt with the same as you are. Is the Empire not fair to all?"

"That doesn't make it right you murderer! Why are there Stormtroopers in our home villages?! Why do you think you can go around shooting whoever you like?!"

"Such as the bar vagrant, Twagi from Sprawl? Who started a bar fight? Is that an 'innocent civilian' in your eyes? Intoxicated rabble, told to have limits, who willfully ignore better suggestions and warnings of probation from the Law. Had he been allowed to go on this way, how long until he murdered someone or tried to maul a real innocent? There are records, you know. He had rape counts and charges on his pre-Imperial criminal record, and drug abuse on his Imperial record. This is who YOU defend, you reprobate! Next you'll tell me Hutts are merely blameless, upstanding entrepreneurs."

"You can't just kill someone because you think they'll do something bad!"

"And you cannot just kill fellow civilians because you've convinced yourself the Empire is 'bad'."

"What about me, guv'nor? Why am I here? I've only failed to pay the tax on my farm..."

"...I recognize you, you run the farm near Unndale. Let me ask you this, by how long?"

"Six days. I couldn't get enough money in time, I'm the only worker, taking care of my parents. They're too old to work. My farm isn't the biggest, I can't make a lot of money compared to the others. Your problem is that you need reassurance from the dice because you fear failure. whereas i've seen the light.

it really never was necessary to roll the dice. What you need is [resolve]
>>
>>4980563
One wouldn't use dice if they feared failure. Your logic is flawed and you ego is sheltered. The thrill of imminent defeat makes victory all the sweeter. It is an infantile argument, the "Nuh uh" of debate to state you are so above failure.

Thus I condemn you to piss-baby status. You coward.
>>
>>4980601
Dice, by their very nature, are an way in which you can 'prove' you are right. The fact that you require confirmation shows you waver in your belief

If you know to be right, you believe it. You don`t need a dice to tell it for you.
>>
>>4980615
Denying your own fallibility is one way of lying yourself into believing you have confidence. There is no one here seeking affirmation more than you. You can't lie forever.

Fallibility comes into regards to actions, not when it comes to marrying a jedi alien girl. The dice does not tell whether you fail or you win

Rest assured. As well, I must apologize on behalf of the entire Empire, that you were taken directly to the execution stands rather than a holding block. When the flames are done and their spirits have moved on, their bodies will be shriveled up, only bone barely held together by crisp sinews and baked flesh will be left in the binds. The plasma tower is one of the most painful ways to die.

And yet, the crowd is cheering. I have paid them my dues, and my service. Their loyalty, is their gratitude in return, and secured by my policies. They have nothing to fear under the rule of a Zarazum.

Oh, you fired your gun, but it was undoubtedly of no use against- Wait, you shot it in the eye! You and your dumb luck!

"WRIST ROCKET; LOOSE." The Super Battle Droid, U-90 said.

The Super's rocket impacted the partially blinded Wampa with a fierce blow, making the creature stumble back as the snow beneath gave way under the immense weight.

"ROOOOOOGHHHH! GHOOOOGGRRRHH!"

The Wampa stumbled back into the wall and fell right through! The place caved in. It was in fact not braced by any solid rock behind the ice and frosted snowy build up. The thing went careening to a great fall to a dark space below.

"I-Interesting..." You though for a moment, looking back to the words of Baixley and Guna. "This must be one of those drop offs they were talking about."

"SIR, THERE COULD BE DROP OFFS ANYWHERE."

"I know! It means we'll have to be more careful moving downward into these mines, one bad step and we'll be down there with the Wampa!"

"OUR OPTICS ARE NOT BEST EQUIPPED WITH SENSORS FOR DETECTING HOLLOWED SPACES."

"So don't go marching out so fast, slow it a bit! Everyone! I'm taking charge!" You say, moving up to get near the front of the group, where up ahead two of your fellow Droids exchanged fire with the dart wielding Blood Talz, while the vanguard blew smoke out to suffocate them.

"OOM co-commander, status report!" You shout.

"Colonel, the Blood Talz are regrouping, a few stragglers went another way, that may lead back out to the mine's entrance. It appears they're gathering fire sources to amass up ahead."

"Okay... and...?" You mouth off.

"And they may be trying to melt a section of the cave's dense ice in order to force a collapse of the ceiling. This would block our advance as well as filter smoke from filling the directions ninety degrees."

That is something to consider actually, but then a few well placed rockets or suppressive fire could down most of the Talz ahead, albeit putting you and your squad in the way of their throwing spears.

"What are our other options?"

"Colonel, we may be able to pull far right in order to find an alternate route to the shaft that would put us into the cafeteria of the Supply Ship according to General Merxelles' detailed layout, if my calculation is correct. However, the hazards may be greater that way, and any stragglers laying in wait could try to ambush us."

Well, this is a tough choice... should you take your squad into a direct exchange with the enemy or risk detouring through thinner slips of the mines and sneaky enemies on your way to access the Supply Ship?

>What will you do?

Palemon, I use Palemoon. It's always fucking Palememe's fault I guarantee, I don't update it anymore because with every new update it increasingly gimps itself as the retarded creator tries ever harder to kill his own child every day. I'd really go for a better browser but sadly Palememe seems to be the only real choice as every other private browser project that had potential to be better was killed at childbirth or is frustratingly minimalist that I couldn't stand.

Not that it matters anyway, ZeroBin seems to be best so I'll just use that for my /qst/ archives, it's just a page with the hyperlinks already highlighted and accessible as easy as one click so that works for me.

>>
I have zero idea about what any of you are talking about.

What i do know is that we should take our squad into a direct exchange. We're droids, so our best ability is walking and shooting straight at an enemy. While i have no doubt Stud Bucket is good at fighting more freeform, the same can't be said about the others.

So let's just go and take the fight directly to them. Our B2s should give us a considerable edge against them, they're just a bunch of uncivilized pirates after all.
>>
>>4986943
Let's take the risk and go to the ship. With any luck we might be able to reactive some battle droids.
>>
>>4986667
Fucking nice.

>>4986943
Divert the course, we can simply fill the ways ahead with smoke in order to flush out sneak attackers.

>>4987032
The others are learning since we influenced, aren't they? They're acting out of the ordinary B1 behavior because it said we'd been influencing them for days. They're also following our commands, walking right into enemy fire is bad idea, especially against a concentrstion of these Talz who we established at the beginning of the thread are freakishly strong. They could do a suicide charge and mow our squad down, we need to think tactically.
>>
>>4987062
They're strong, sure, but they're still mostly pirates. Even if our B1s are just using E5s, those blasters pack a punch, and i'm pretty sure they won't be using any armor. And then you take into account the B2s and we could feasibly mow them down

If we go through the other way, we'll get amubhsed, no doubt. And ambushing is the specialty of these kind sof people.
>>
>>4987032
>>4987062
>>4987064
If they are lacking in armor, that's all the more reason to try and slip in, if they try and ambush, they'll be choked in the thinner the slip, so less enemies able to effectively fire, and you just shoot down the hallway.
>>
>>4986993
Not Brave or something?
>>
>>4987151
Anon, we're droids, we can't respond fast enough to ambushes. Stud nearly got killed by that Wampa right there, literally the only reason he survived is because the fucking force itself might as well be protecting him.

I for one want to just take a moment to appreciate how well drawn the wampa is.

"Either way, we could end up losing a few Droids at the least... And I don't want to risk running into another Wampa in the dark. Where does straight ahead put us at?"

"If the readout is correct, we may come up into the engine room of section one, that would put us closer to the bridge, which we will need to cross in order to reach the target area." The OOM informs you.

Well, that was better than ending up in a cafeteria. Besides, you had to dig your way into the ship as well to find a shaft leading up into it. The OOM was merely giving you calculations for where closest your squad would be to the areas he listed. It might take a while to dig into the ice and find the right spot, and doing that in the dark was just needlessly risky.

You took initiative.

"Your call, Colonel?"

"CHAAAAAAAAAARRRRGE!"

You took off speeding ahead. The fellow Battle Droids broke into a sprint themselves to keep up. After a few seconds of silence, they had the audacity to join you in the charge with a cry of their own.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!"
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!"
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!"
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!"

Blaster bolt fire went zipping ahead as your Droids formed up side by and side and kept their triggers held down, firing in every direction ahead!

This sudden assault came to the surprise of the Blood Talz, the savage tribals were startled and had to abandon their attempt to melt the cavern ceiling and close it off immediately.

However, their resolve to fight quickly returned, not all too intimidated by the high pitched voices of shrieking Battle Droid speech synthesizers. And it didn't quite help your case now that you realize there were only ten Battle Droids with you, and seventeen of the savages ahead.

"Tzah-bzh-zbh-zha-zhab-zbah!"

"TZAH-BZH-BZH-ZBHHH!"

Seventeen furious savages, picking up their spears and crude clubs and blowguns. Seventeen, hulking savages who were now charging your way themselves!

'Crud.' is what crosses your processor in the instant, just as a thrown spear nearly plucks your foot into the snow.

You didn't stop in your advance upon the tribals, not even in the face of their throwing spears or blow darts. Your Droid squad doused them with laser bolts, downing several or so at once in a spree, but as the distance closed, it became apparent to you, the tale you'd heard of the Talz species' innate strength, having to watch them beat down a couple of your B1 units with their fists and clubs, smashing the hapless Droids in close quarters until their heads and limbs had popped off.

You signaled the rest to back up and fire for suppression, otherwise things would get nasty out of your favor.

Is the rolls best of 1 or best of 3? Do we propose tactics, or just roll?
I'm feeling silly for the sudden charge tactics, but maybe that's for the best.
>>
>>4990992
it's been best of three, far as I recall, save for a crit fail.
>>
>>4990992
I'm still thinking this over, I thought a system would be neat for fights where Studs is commanding troops. For skirmishes, both sides just duke it out. For bigger battles in the future though? Like army to army on ground or space fights? Tactical options and the sort would be implemented.

I think for Skirmishes, each round can have a max of five rolls, best taken. I'll need to expand on this later and write a more in depth page, kind of like I did with the rules I made for MH quest.

I'm going to take a nap now so if anyone else feels like it, provide two more rolls and try your luck for that nat. Otherwise the 17 with a bonus wins.

Of course that doesn't stop one of the Super Battle Droids from getting too haughty for its own good, as it grapples with an unarmed Blood Talz. The two of them roll through the frosted undertow and around to the firepit the savage Talz were making, to a point where they both end up inside of it! The Blood Talz burns to death, while the heat causes the Super Battle Droid's internals to combust. Idiocy.

Thankfully, the other B2 had a mind to take it safer as the Proven Blood Talz rushed your group, firing a wrist rocket almost a few feet away into them. The blast makes the B2 stumble, but the Droid's durable body was able to shoulder the force and carry on. The Talz however, were not so fortunate, being blasted to ribbons.

One more of the B1s were lost to the stave of the Tribal leader, the Cannibal Lord, and another had been pushed into a dark drop off much like the Wampa was, but a well placed wrist rocket was more than enough to stifle the Blood Talz for now. With no other choice than demise, the Cannibal Lord and his remaining tribal follower decide to flee the scene, scurrying off into the further parts of the cave, well on their way back out to the other side of the glacial wall above the mines.

You come out of the skirmish sustaining your Commander, and three troops.
>>
Of course, it had to be the loud mouthed B1s that survived. PHU-99, the pessimistic one and RO-12, the psychotic one. At least OOM-58 and U-99, your now lone Super made it through.

"Hooorayy! We did it! Koff! We, koff, sent them pac- Oh wait, there's no smoke in here." Says RO-12.

"What does it matterrrrr? There's probably way more of them that will show up later, we're all dooooooomed!" Says PHU-99.

"Shut up." You say to both.

Looking over the room, you see only the half completed firepit the Blood Talz were trying to use to melt the ceiling with, and the remains of one of their number and a blown up B2 in it. The alcove around was quite large, with only two ways ahead and behind, to the opposite ends of the glacial wall. You didn't want to find out what exactly was on the other side, in Blood Talz claimed lands beyond.

You also needed to get to work searching for the way to the engine room, that was your ticket into the supply ship. And fast too, there was a loud slamming that seemed to resonate some ways under ground...

"I-Is that t-t-the Wah-Wampa...?!" The pessimistic B1 shivers, trying to get behind the B2 for protection.

"Could be, which is why we'll need to work fast." You tell your cohorts.

"Sir, might I suggest allocation of Blood Talz pit towards sealing the exit into their turf off? It may prevent any possible reinforcements." The OOM comes.

That was also a good idea...

>What's more important? Getting into the ship right away? Or taking precautions for safety? Perhaps you could call on some of your organic allies to join you now, despite the risk with the caves being clouded now...
>>

You knew it would come in handy eventually, and you were right as you hastily requested his assistance, along with Ceedee, who was the more eager to join of the two.

For what little worth it had, you set the Droids to exhaust some plasma on the ceiling of the route the Blood Talz retreated through, it would help bring little down to block that place, but not enough to completely plug it.

"W-What if that thing comes back up somehow...?! We'd all diieeeee!" PHU-99 again whined. You were beginning to get fed up with his defeatism.

You had to say something, in a rough tone to get across your point. "If they come back, you should have enough processing power to know to do the sensible thing, you twit; Run the other way and don't look back!"

"That won't be necessary."

You looked up to the Mandalorian as he strode past a veil of smoke then, the flirtatious T-3 rolling in right behind him, beeping happily.

"Not with a former kyr'tsad 'ori'ramikade' here. But first, I'll be taking this-"

You couldn't really object to Cognac as snatched the EE-3 from your hands, and tossed his sidearm into your arms. "-a carbine is better in the hands of a Mandalorian, my mate. Don't think badly of it, I'm just a better shot is all and I know how to wield this power with a bit'o more.... deadly efficiency. I should say."

"What are you planning to do exactly?" You can only say as you grip his pistol and look it over.

"Cause if those bloody frackers you just ran off rendezvous and form up, they'll just charge right on back through here and we won't be so lucky as to 'scattah them again like you did. You lost a handfulla Droids against this small number. We gotta keep them out for good. Think about, Studs, we help offer this village a longer term solution to the blud kriffers and they'll thank us better... might even be able to keep a fewa their weapons. You 'reachin me here?"

He had a point, but those Rebels seemed adamant on keeping their weapons from the cache.

"Alright... but if they ask, you'd better return that."

"I wouldn't worry abouddit." He scoffs.
>>
"Let's get to work then."

"BRI-BEE-BEE-BOOIP!"

"H-Hey, knock it off! Not on the job!"

Flames roared as your Droids shot the walls in select spots, aiming to try and discover the 'sweet spot' that would lead to the objective. Your OOM Commander perused the walls and peered in deeply with your pair of scopes to scan for metal. It wouldn't be longer until you struck steel.

"Found it. It's over here."

Cognac and Ceedee combined their flamethrowers, letting a vent of fire melt through the transparent ice. Water ran beneath your feet and pooled up over the frosted rock, which wasn't the most worrying so long as it didn't touch anything vital, B1 and OOMs, while far from an Aqua Droid, still having been deployed to swamps in your lifetime.

"WRIII-WOOOEEE!"

"Hey! Wait for me!"

You had to rush quickly as the broken panels of a ventilation shaft revealed itself behind the melted ice. Ceedee was quick to reveal booster and fly on up, you had to latch onto her backside to have her carry you up, which slowed her as she squealed from the sudden contact and steamed up.

"I'm coming too, Colonel!"

Oh no. Now RO-12 was grabbing onto your leg to join, and Ceedee couldn't reach up the whole way! But Cognac cursed then as he strode over and took hold of RO-12's own legs.

"Get, on... UP!"

"WRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIII-"

Ceedee could make it now, supported by the sudden push from the supercommando. You went carried by her through the shaft until she dove through another opening, ending with you, her and RO-12 crashed through some paneling into a larger and darkened bay. You could only shake your head as you lifted it to be staring right into a fuming Ceedee's eye. You didn't want her to get any ideas, so you pushed up quickly and took a look around. This was the engine rooms alright. It was huge in here, and full of wrecked Droid husks...

"Ohhh! Morbid! I like it!" RO-12 says, admiring the atmosphere.

"Those are your brethren, don't be so disrespectful." You shame him.
>>
Moving over immediately, you pass the large scale ion thruster banks and the enormous engine to a door with a pad control. Pushing in one button, you waited patiently, expecting a result. None came, so frustrated, you pulled the communicator.

"Uhh, General? What's the deal. Is the power just not working? I'm in the ship... but where do I go from here?"

"CLEARLY THE POWER IS NOT WORKING, THIS SHIP FELL FROM SPACE. THE ENGINE HAS BEEN DISABLED FROM THE IMPACT. IN ORDER TO REACH MY CARGO, YOU'LL NEED TO TRAVERSE THE BRIDGE TO THE OPPOSITE SECTION AND MAKE YOUR WAY TO DECK L-TWO. YOU CAN DO THIS USING THE UTILITY STAIRWELL OR ELEVATOR."

"Is it possible to restart the engine? Maybe I could have CD do something about it."

"POSSIBLY. HOWEVER, YOU RUN MULTIPLE RISKS IN DOING SO. IF THE POWER WERE TO COME BACK ON FROM A RESTART OF THE ENGINE, IF THE MACHINERY IS NOT TOO DAMAGED TO WORK THAT IS TO SAY, THEN THE PRIMARY ION ACCELERATORS WOULD ALL NEED TO BE MANUALLY SHUT DOWN TO PREVENT A SCUTTLE, THE SHIP MAY SUDDENLY BOOST, RESULTING IN FURTHER ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE. SECONDLY, IN AN UNSTABLE STATE OF DISREPAIR, THE ENGINE ALSO RUNS THE RISK OF MALFUNCTION, AND POWER FLUCTUATIONS THROUGH AGED CIRCUITRY MAY RESULT IN... IMMINENT DETONATION OF FUEL."

"So it could all blow up?!"

"PERHAPS NOT THE ENTIRE SHIP, BUT THE ENGINE ITSELF WOULD CAUSE A SIZABLE BLAST IF IT WERE TO SUFFER MALFUNCTION. YOU CAN TRY TO MAKE YOUR WAY THROUGH THE VENTILATION SHAFTS AGAIN. I PRESUME YOU CAME IN THAT WAY. HOWEVER, THIS WILL PROVE EVEN EVEN MORE OF A PROBLEM. WITH HOW OLD THE VESSEL IS, AND HOW MUCH DAMAGE IT SUFFERED CRASHING, ANYWHERE IN THE VENTILATION SYSTEM COULD GIVE AWAY, ON TOP OF THE FACT YOU'D NEED TO CRAWL IN CRAMPED SPACES AND CLIMB FOR QUITE SOME TIME. MAKE YOUR DECISION, AND GO FROM THERE. THIS IS NOW A MISSION WHERE TIME IS PRECIOUS, YOU'LL NEED TO COMPLETE IT AS FAST AS POSSIBLE."

"..."

There was nothing more to be said... You were inside a hazard right now, you'd need to be on the run, whichever way you went. You feel that, if you were lucky, you may be able to reach the cargo and haul it back in time to have Ceedee shut off the engine and prevent any explosions occurring if you were to have it started back up. The vents sounded way more dangerous, and from how you burst in latched to Ceedee, you could tell that all the panels were now very, very fragile... but how would you even retrieve the cargo going through the vents without power to open the doors? Well, maybe you and RO-12 could find something to cut through the doors with, a power tool maybe, along the way. If you were successful in reaching the lab through the vent access, the return trip would be soooo much easier...

This is tough. You hope Cognac can hold out down there for however long you'll be doing this. Time to make a decision.

>Give Ceedee leeway to restart the engine? Or take the patient climb?
>>
>>4996091
>Restart the engine
I do not think we would be able to do the climb. It's way too dangerous, you don't know what'll happen inside those vents.

Flames burst from the oversized engine as it roared to life. Ceedee, having already known things about engines from her long history of experience and working with Dugok, managed to get the thing running after tapping into an interface sooner than you expected.

The lights around the ship were coming back online too as power was restored and rerouted manually. You picked out the fasted route and kept it on your brain.

Think of something, Stud Bucket, think!

"BY THE ORDER OF GENERAL MERXELLES, STAND DOWN!"

"[Negative.]"

Blast. You hoped it would respond better to the name of the 'top access'.

"Why not?! U-Uh! He sent me here to retrieve special cargo, don't interfere with the General's orders!"

"[Negative. Top access inclination missing. Current directive, the elimination of any and all trespassers into premises.]"

"But I'm on your own side! The ship is under attack by uh... the Republic! We have to get this stuff out of here!"

"[Negative. Handling of laboratory contents limited to this unit.]"

"Then get it out of here, let me go! I'm a Colonel!"

"[Negative. Inclination to transport laboratory contents missing. Unit will carry out independent protocol. Unit responds only to command prompt of officer-nine class commander unit.]"

"Oh come on, snap out of it! Don't your see your programming is fault-"

'Snap!'

The Magnaguard proceeded to snap your arm like a twig before shoving you back and engaging the Electrostaff it held.

"IT IS USELESS, IT WON'T EVEN RESPOND TO MY DIRECT VOICE, ONLY SPECIFIC ORDERS SENT VIA ONE OF MY OWN SIGNALS, I'D HAVE TO BE THERE IN PERSON. TAKE NO MORE CHANCES, GET THE CARGO AND FLEE AS FAST AS YOU CAN."

"Awweh...! I'll... try!" You say, picking yourself up over a rail and drawing Cognac's pistol, facing the motionless Magnaguard, which stared at you blankly. "Ceedee, if you read me, try getting into the doors, I'll need you to close some in a minute!"

With the Cydroid cargo secured on the loader, you had RO-12 accelerate the thing to maximum throttle down the halls of the ship, on the way back through the bridge.

"Ceedee! Now! Come on!"

The Magnaguard attempted to pursue, but the laboratory doors began to slide shut as Ceedee overrode them. It almost worked, but the determined Droid forced both hands through at the last second, and slowly pried the doors back open enough to shove through.

The stomping of the Magnaguard's running feet was closing in fast as RO-12 drove down the bottom tunnel of the supply ship's bridge, once an elevator reached the bottom. The Magnaguard, still chasing after you, jumped all the way down the elevator with little wear from such a height, and you looked back in terror at the sight of it running fast! It would come up upon you in minutes! Even worse, Ceedee was closing the door ahead, and the loader might not get through in time!

"Uhh! Colonel! That murderous Droid is about to reach us to do some macabre things with his elecrostaff! Uh ohhh! That's gonna be sooo horrible."

"Which is why we can't let it happen! Oh roger, oh scrap metal!" You panicked.

What can you do?!

The lift is... a bit weighed down from the Cydroid and... you and RO-12

What if you... were to have RO-12 give you his arms, before shoving him off to keep the Magnaguard distracted long enough to pass the door and lose it for good? The thought of willingly sacrificing a brother, even one as annoying as RO-12... but the mission! And your own life on the line?

Your kind was made to be expendable and cast aside easily, as much as your kind also hated that reality. You didn't want to do it, not to a brother. But you also didn't want to die. The only other choice would be telling Ceedee to hold the door, and then try to fight it off again once it boards the loader in its pursuit of you and RO-12...

>What will Stud Bucket do?
Give us an arm and blaster so we can blast at it. GUN IT FASTER RO-12!
>>
>>4999549
Tell RO-12 to give you one of his arms and his gun, start blasting any ice still on the ceiling so it falls and blocks the hall while RO-12 drives and you coordinate with CeeDee on door timing
>>
>>4999549
There isn't much of a better choice than sacrificing ro 12, trying to continue fighting the magnaguard would be retarded as fuck when it just demolished us with one punch
>b-but we can shoot the eyes
NO. No! Think about what you're saying here, imbecile, that thing casually fights and reacts to Jedi as skilled as Obi Wan, it literally is lightning fast compared to us. If it gets close again, we. Are. Fucked.
And shooting the thing doesn't help us remove weight necessary to reach the door in time.

This is no epic underdog situation, this is not something we can win. Stud Bucket is outstanding but not that outstanding. This fight is a slow and barely smarter B1 vs a machine made to kill magic users.

Say bye bye to Ro-12, we would probably much like to live, yeah? THROW HIM THE FUCK OUT
>>
>>4999563
Also if we survive this we need to start carrying grenades
>>
>>4999567
You're forgetting that they're in a tunnel, here, and with some distance. You're just trying to think pragmatically without actually planning whether it's a good idea or not. Why the fuck would throwing RO-12 slow him down? He's after US. If he's so damn fast he would just jump over him.

We need to throw something to slow him down. And no, throwing RO-12 won't work, that's just a stupid and edgy plan. We don't need to shoot him 'in the eyes' or whatever the fuck, just slow him down.
>>
>>4999587
The general specifically just said that it is programmed to kill everyone, including ro 12, who just hit him with the lift. Ro 12 could be bait for the Magnaguard to slow down with, since the thing took about five minutes of blankly staring at us to decide to punch us.

We have nothing besides the cargo we HAVE to recover, what do you want to throw at the guard? And we don't need to slow the guard, we need to speed up. And RO 12 is already edgy, and just an expendable B1. Throw him so we can escape the lion and not die. Trying anything else is mindless.
>>
>>4999589
>The general specifically just said that it is programmed to kill everyone, including ro 12, who just hit him with the lift.
He's there to protect him. If he can kill a Jedi, what makes you think he'll stop and poke RO-12 when, being a b1, the fall itself is already probably going to kill him?
>ince the thing took about five minutes of blankly staring at us to decide to punch us.
Because it was warning us? Now it's already going for the kill, it's in combat mode.
>We have nothing besides the cargo we HAVE to recover, what do you want to throw at the guard?
He's still running, if he's blasted he'll have to stop. It's a narrow tunnel, so even here it would be hard to miss.
>And we don't need to slow the guard, we need to speed up.
That is the same thing, anon. If he slows down, we'll be able to get there.
>And RO 12 is already edgy, and just an expendable B1.
And that's the problem, YOU'RE just trying to be edgy and sacrificing him because you WANT to be edgy and bad and throwing other droids to their doom.

Blast the fucker to make him slow down. He won't get killed, but it'll give us enough time to get past the door.

Do you even realize what universe this is? This is Star Wars, a universe full of the morally ambiguous and moral relativism. Most people in this fucking world shoot others like americans just because they feel like it. I don't want to kill ro 12 just because I can, I want to kill him because this is a tough situation that calls for a drastic measure that none of us want to do, but we have little choice.
>That is the same thing, anon. If he slows down, we'll be able to get there.
And this is also why we need to kill him. You think slowing the magnaguard will help even though it was explicitly stated us going slow means we WON'T reach the door in time, because Ceedee is closing it ahead of our mark. Slowing the magnaguard DOES NOTHING IF HE JUST REACHES US A LITTLE LATER BECAUSE WE WERE TOO SLOW TO GET THROUGH THE DOOR AND HEY, LOOK AT THAT, IT CLOSED IN OUR FACE
FFFFF UUUUUUUUUUUUU CCCC KKKKKK ANON THINK, THINK!
WE ARE A MILITARY COMMMANDER AND WE WILL BE FACED WITH CHOICES LIKE THIS AGAIN IN THE FUTURE, WE NEED TO TOUGHEN UP TO THEM SO WE AREN'T UTTERLY HELPLESS AGAINST THEM CHEESUS

>star wars is morally ambiguous

>WON'T reach the door in time, because Ceedee is closing it ahead of our mark.
The second option is having her hold the door for a while. So why not slow him down to allow us to get through and close it on his face?

Throwing RO-12 won't slow him down. He'll die the moment he hits the ground and the magnaguard is going to easily jump over him because he's not of interest - we're taking the thing he wants out.

>>
>>5000118
>This is the interior of the star ship. There is doubtfully any ice in here, or at least of any significant use as a deterrent against the Magnaguard.

The air vents were awfully brittle. There’s a nontrivial chance that there’s all sorts of spalling and other brittle metal or other equipment that could give way if blaster fire was introduced to it. Especially if there’s a volatile power-up sequence taking place.
>>
You just couldn't think to do it, to betray a fellow brother like this, even in the name of completing the mission above all else.

"GIVE ME AN ARM!" You shouted to RO-12.

The B1 immediately followed your order, reaching over and disconnecting his right arm as you overrode a motor function in your system and dropped off what remained of yours. Even though RO-12 found it strange, he slammed the right arm into your socket, giving you a new functional limb.

You flexed the hand with a rhythmic clicking as the metal wires inside adjusted, and then you lunged for RO-12's E-5 and pulled the blaster up, there after kicking his pack and sending it flying off to remove some mass, letting the loader pick up, if only slightly.

"Ow! What the heck was that-"

"Shh!"

You turned to the Magnaguard and held the blaster up. This was a moment of truth...

"Mmmmm..... nyyyehh!"

You fired.

'...KNCK!'

The Magnaguard slipped and fell. You had shot the thing's leg and stopped it briefly.

"We're heading for a crash course, Colonel! Hang onto your nuts and bolts!"

You turned quickly and threw down your blaster, grabbing onto the side of the loader as it went and rammed into the almost shut doors ahead, squeezing through, but getting caught. The General's cargo was flung off to the floor ahead and began to roll. RO-12 jumped off haphazardly and hopped on one foot for a second until he was able to catch the thing. As you went to get off the loader as well when the doors began squishing it down, the ceiling exploded and sent you forward to the floor with a hard *thump*.

The generator activation was starting to truly take a toll upon the ship. You had to get out now.

Running up after rising, you put your hand on the cargo with RO-12 and began to roll the Cydroid out, hoping the rough handling wouldn't damage it or anything else...

>Stud Bucket gained Tactical Trait: No Man Left Behind (7% chance for a small number of soldiery to randomly survive an otherwise fatal engagement.)
>>
"Ceedee! Ceedee! Shut if off! SHUT IT OOOOFFF!" You yelled at your top volume setting.

The engine was perpetually melting, the sides of the thing glowing yellow hot with steam rising from the innards. You heard Ceedee screaming as she twisted around in some sockets, trying her best.

It didn't appear like she would make it, you only continued pushing the cargo ahead and sent it rolling to break right through the same fragile ventilation shaft you came through. RO-12 looked worrisome when you did that, and couldn't stop to question it as an explosion happened nearby, he didn't stop pushing the thing, and eventually went down the shaft with it as you rushed up and over to the T-3.

The engine appeared just about ready to blow until a vital switch of the console she manipulated was turned, activating the shut down sequence to your relief. Yet, now vapor buildup from burned fuel, unable to be vented properly and filtered by a lack of operational machinery, began to rock the engine room, blowing out holes in the walls and floor. You prevented total destruction of the ship, not complete however. But, it wasn't like it was in perfect condition before hand.

You acted quickly as you grabbed Ceedee and pulled her free, just before a vapor welt could pop beneath her. It would have surely sent her flying to severe damages if not for you. And as you tumbled back with her, she engaged her boosters and hovered, carrying you with her over a railing. The circumstance would have it that another swelling above did burst from the ceiling, blasting Ceedee with intense enough force to send her spiraling through the air with you holding on tight, right into the open ventilation shaft!

"Ow! OH! GOH! KUH!"

"BRIII-BI-BI-PI-KGGK-KCH-IIIIIPPP!"

All the way back down to the bottom and into the snow, you and Ceedee went bumping against every surface, just until you landed on top of her and went to correct yourself. You clenched your dome with your last arm and shook your head off, looking down. Ceedee twisted her head to face you and locked eyes for a brief moment, just until she began to steam up and give a flustered hum.

You shook your head and picked yourself up before tugging her to her feet and going onward.
>>
RO-12 and the other Battle Droids left were securing the cargo, hefting the Cydroid up themselves as you beamed them an order to carry it to Dugok's Juggernaut. You came out into the icy alcove just to catch a glimpse of Cognac standing over what looked to be the corpse of the Wampa from earlier. That thing found a way to dig back up! Luckily, they seemed to have put it down without you while you were retrieving Merxelles' prize. It was covered head to toe in black blaster burn marks. Cognac was exhausted, and looked battered as he tried with great effort to remove a knife that was plunged deep into the Wampa's scalp.

"Go.... go on without me! I'll... I'll need a minute...."

You weren't about to say anything else. You had other business to attend to.

The Rebels in specific, they need to be talked to, and then Merxelles needed to be informed of the mission's success. From there, more could be decided upon regarding this place. Merxelles will likely want to establish a foothold in the Talz Village, in order to excavate the Supply Ship...

But first, you wanted to talk about acquiring a little 'compensation' for your help to the Village today, eliminating a number of Blood Talz, vanquishing them and a Wampa from this cave and opening it back up to the normal Talz. You bet they could figure out the part concerning blocking off the Blood Talz land, as they already had a barrier set up before to the mines entrance in their village.

Ceedee appeared to be in fine enough condition once all was said in done.

You immediately started to negotiate with the Rebels upon seeking them out in the aftermath. You decidedly asserted that you were owed double for the destruction of your, well, General Merxelles' probe droid, and the effort you put into helping them today.

Baixley thinks you're being a bit too pushy, and not so humble. Guna, not wanting to entertain a conflagration of sorts, agrees you should be compensated on both accounts, but does tell you, they can only give so much as per their own orders, and that you'd need to respect that they are forced to operate under initiative and aren't completely independent with their control over their cell's assets here. You were likewise under initiative yourself, so you got to discussing what could and could not be given...

Your first request was for more recreational materials. You asked them if they had any data they could share pertaining to culinary items, something you wanted to give your organic friends. Guna in specific, having to cook for Baixley and herself all the time here, happened to have quite a few recipes she kept recorded personally to herself to assist her cooking skills. She is happy to share a copy of the data with you, and sends it to your communicator.

Your next request was for the Wampa corpse. The Rebels politely refuse. They elaborate, they were hoping to keep the spoils of the cave in return for whatever they give you. The remains of your fallen Droids here could be used for a multitude of purposes in the Talz Village, including upkeep of the weapons in their cache. They'd smelt it in a smelter and use it in some areas. The Wampa would also be able to provide lots of fat which they could boil to produce a flammable fuel they could use for their fires, all because fat is normally composed of polymerized triglycerides, of which the Wampa had seventy times the amount of compared to even a big Talz.

You ask about the possibility of connecting with them by establishing a safehouse of your own here. They say, that while there is more than enough room, things like that will be up for debate to their bosses and your boss. You'd give them Merxelles' code so they could contact him at the end of this exchange.

You then ask if they had any special materials... like Crystadurium.

"Woah, woah, woah! Wait, hold on, slow down a little. Crystadurium?!" Baixley has to say. "Goodness! You can only get that stuff on Mustafar, and the Imperials wouldn't let you three systems length within range of Mustafar before a Star Destroyer would go to town on you!"

"Although... the Moff has bargained for exotic materials before in the name of improving his forces. That we know from a few moles in the greater cell. Perhaps you'd find it at the [Military Industrial Sector] in [Crondre City]."

That was another objective added. If the Moff had any Crystadurium himself... it would have to be stolen, or plundered.

Your second last request is for any Droid parts they may have acquired from their own time excavating the ship in the mines.

You are in luck. They have the remains of a BX-Commando Droid. The Commando Droid is missing some parts, and looks generally withered. Nothing the Foundry couldn't repair, however. It could serve as a formidable new body for you...
>>
File: 269.png (18 KB, 1066x597)

On the other hand, you ask about the possibility of a weapon. They have four to offer.

The A280 Blaster Rifle they offered way earlier, a versatile automatic rifle. A Defender Sporting Blaster, a low powered hunting blaster with incredible range. The SE-14r light repeating blaster, a looted weapon of Imperial manufacture with a scope and alternative firing modes.

And, the TL-50-B Heavy Imperial Repeater, a devastating weapon for sure, looted by the Rebels and kept safely here. It was a rare find, and the most important thing they'd be willing to part with, the final piece they'd offer. This was high ranking Imperial issue... however, they explain that it is a different model from the original.

The TL-50-A originally was a slugthrower that fired metallic bolts, but this one was was a TL -50-B. It was a basic heavy repeating blaster, a cheaper model with a completely different projectile type. It had a power pack with one thousand shots, and the spread could get out of hand if the wielder wasn't strong enough to control it.

Baixley does add, the B model is not too dissimilar to the A model. It was possible, with some ingenuity, to reverse engineer it back into a slugthrower. A skillful enough weaponsmith could accomplish such a task. But you didn't know any. The Rebels did, they tell you their cell has a good weaponsmith who comes by to checkup on their cache, who is also training them both. However, your third party and their cell were not formal, and thus his service was not yet available.

Still, having that Repeater would do fine for a future modification back into a reliable slugthrower....
>>
The Rebels tell you to decide, which takes you aback for a second.

You will be fairly compensated in their eyes with the BX body, and they will give you one more of the weapons of your choice from the four they offer, along with the carbine that Cognac now possesses. That is of course, only if you still want to take the remains of the Droids you've lost as well.

However, allow them to keep the Wampa corpse, and the Droid remains, and they will give you the rest of the lot they offer, in addition to the EE-3 for Cognac.

You really, somehow, didn't want to just bard with the corpses of brothers... but they were clear these were their final deals...

>What will you decide?
>>
>>5006593
NEW BODY GET! ALRIGHT! Did it come with one of those thick assassin droid swords? That would be nice to have.

>TL-50-A
We could manufacture ammo for this easily. Now, if we can just modify it to be fully automatic and have a drum fed magazine....

>What will you decide?
I'm for getting the assassin droid body and the remains of our droids friends, but I also want to consult all of our friends for their opinions, in addition of our boss's opinion. The assassin droid body is however nonnegotiable. That's ours.
>>
>>5006611
On the one hand, more stuff is good. We have to pay Cognac back for the blaster pistol that we lost when fighting the Magnaguard too. I don’t have a lot of issues with them keeping the Wampa corpse, but the droid remains might be another matter. Namely, there are some security concerns with leaving battle droid remains behind. Seppie droids may have been designed to die cleanly so they could be easily salvaged, and possibly recover data from. Leaving behind the dead droids could provide a lead back to the droid foundry for any persistent data hound. This may be something Merxelles may want to avoid.
>>
>>5006592
>The remains of your fallen Droids here could be used for a multitude of purposes in the Talz Village, including upkeep of the weapons in their cache. They'd smelt it in a smelter and use it in some areas.
How wasteful. I'd like to speak with the general about it, but I think we can negotiate for our droid buddies remains, and all other droids they uncover in exchange for producing primitive tools for them from whatever salvage they come across. If they break anything, we could just fix that for them too.
This is in addition to my suggestion here >>5006716
>Get assassin droid body
>get droid bodies and all future droids they find
>acquire the four guns
>produce tools for them (general's permission/advice first)
>exchange some of our nutrient paste and purified water or half the Tampa corpse (general's permission/advice first)
>Offer option to repair rebel vehicles/sell refurbished vehicles (general's permission/advice)

>>5006730
>We have to pay Cognac back for the blaster pistol that we lost when fighting the Magnaguard too
With the EE-3 for Cognac?
We could probably get the best of both worlds. The foundry can do more than just create and repair droids I think. What I really want is to acquire schematics to the security droids so we can produce a couple of those and use them as something akin to consumer spies. Like how companies record data on their customers to sell to other companies, but with droids if that makes sense.
>>
>>5006748
>The foundry can do more than just create and repair droids I think.

Presumably, it could have some arms-producing facilities for integrated weapons systems for stuff like super battle droids, star fighter droids, and the larger siege droids. Maybe even for blasters for the common B1 battle droid series too, though I could see the Banking clan just sourcing cheap arms from another arms company for that.
