You didn't want to kill this mysterious enemy, seeing as she was clearly holding herself back somewhat and was even offering to assist you if you could defeat her, so in some way, you could probably consider the Fairy Knight Agravain to be an ally of sorts. Of course, trusting the whimsical nature of your adversary was a certain way to have things blow up in your face, but for now, you felt like she wasn't going to go against her own word.

So, not wanting to kill her but also not wanting to lose the battle, you really only had one option available to you, and you looked at the legendary lance in your hand for a few moments before you decided, pointing the tip of the lance at the leg of the bound knight. "My apologies for this, but..." You had no choice but to use Rhongomyniad here, and with that in mind, you began to flood the spear with your abundant reserves of magical energy, causing it to glow a bright white and unravel slightly. "Rhongomyniad!" You yelled the name of the legendary spear as it fired towards the Fairy Knight, and a wide beam of light eclipsed both of her legs, the brilliant beam of light gouging an endless tunnel into the floor of the hall moments after erasing the legs of the Fairy Knight Agravain. She'd have no choice but to admit defeat now, and when she did, you'd heal her injuries for her.

The Fairy Knight Agravain slumped in the strings that bound her immediately after having her entire lower half obliterated by the attack, and you freeze in place for a moment... had you... accidentally killed her? "Ouch... so that's how it feels to be struck by one of those texture pins..." She grit her teeth as she remained suspended in the air by the strings of Failnaught. "I guess I'll have to start taking you three a little more seriously now."

"Surrender, knight. You have been terribly wounded, and you cannot continue to battle. Surrender and you shall receive healing." Arturia seemed to have decided to use her diplomatic skills to convince the knight to surrender now that she had taken such a terrible wound, but the black clad female knight just shrugged, snapping a few of the strings binding her as she did.

"This...?" The Fairy Knight Agravain looked down at her missing legs. "I've had worse." That comment clearly stunned Arturia, but not nearly as much as when her legs began to regenerate in seconds, bone, nerve and muscle was quickly generated at the point of her injury and was rapidly covered in skin.

"I-impossible!" Arturia by instinct raised Excalibur at the direction of her opponent, while you got into a fighting position again, before a long awkward silence started as you all stoically stared at one another. Was this even an opponent that could be defeated? An opponent that managed to heal even from a direct hit of Rhongomyniad in mere moments? How were you supposed to defeat her non-lethally?! With this level of regeneration, it's... it's impossible!

You continued staring at the knight for a few moments before your vision finally began to track downwards as the knight began to realize the same thing that you did. Just because she could regenerate her body, it... apparently didn't mean that she was able to regenerate her armor, and her lower half was...

The knight suddenly shrieked with a realization of horror as she realized what had occurred and moved to cover her exposed body. "I told Morgan not to bother giving me armor to hide my identity from you! I told her that I wouldn't be able to regenerate it myself because of her abilities!" She was now outright revealing the one responsible for everything that happened. "Y-you! Nobody except the people I love are meant to see me like this! Stay here while I go and get changed into my normal outfit! This fight isn't over, Shinji!" She pointed directly at you before she raced out of the room and slammed the door shut behind her.

A moment of silence passed between you, Arturia and Shirou as you all took a moment to allow what had happened to sink in.

After all, she could barely hold herself back from acting earlier upon the name of Tristan being used by somebody it didn't belong to earlier.

We know the fairy knight we fought doesn't want to kill us, we know from Sakura's pov interlude people got a perfect life bait offer from Manaka. Some of the Fairy Knights might be old allies? Clearly "Agravain" knew Shinji by name and didn't want to kill us or Shirou and Artoria.

Taking things amounts to making an enemy of Morgan, and if Shinji takes something himself he's also cucking Rhon. Shirou can just project them too if need be later on, which doesn't trigger Morgan's seethe. You NEVER want to be on Morgan's bad side, both irl mythos and the LB6 revelations of her character in nasuverse, which mirror irl lore pretty well.

Artoria is already seething at her though, so honestly might be best to let Artoria make the decision here with her Instincts of whether she should take them for herself or we leave them be. Artoria and Morgan have a pretty constant love-hate relationship, leaving the issue as a sister quarrel is better than Shinji outright becoming an enemy to Morgan right away.

Her weakness is psychology but she's quite powerful physically, I think it's going to take some risk to put yourself in a vulnerable position so that our adversary becomes vulnerable. Barghest eating people is something she hates. Her instincts overpowered her, and when she realized she had eaten her lover she almost snapped.
She DID snap when the other Fae found his body and figured it'd be funny to imitate her and devour other humans. She said something along the lines of "all Fae should be exterminated" and turned into the dog. She was begging for someone to kill her by then.

The amount of treasures contained within this armory might actually surpass even that which is contained in the vault of Babylon when it comes to pure power... of course Gilgamesh probably wouldn't be happy to have such an unfavorable comparison be made, it was likely the truth. To have such a myriad collection of legendary weapons and artifacts be constructed by the fairies was something that simply shouldn't have been possible, but somehow, Morgan had managed to do so. The Gate of Babylon could not possibly contain the weapons within this armory either, each weapon seemingly having been constructed by a fairy. Could Morgan really have so much authority over Gaia and the fairies that she could accomplish such a thing? How? "If we steal from this vault, we will no doubt be making enemies of Morgan and her Fairy Knights... being branded both treasonous thieves as well as enemies of the kingdom... or we could simply leave and attempt diplomacy with her later on... with an armory such as this... Morgan must be plotting something... it's up to you to decide whether or not we should take the weaponry though, it's your ability." Personally, you didn't really think that it would be wise to anger Morgan right now. If she was capable of this much, then there was no telling what she might be capable of doing if her anger were to be directed at the three of you. You'd much prefer that any confrontation with her at least started on non-hostile terms.

"The treasures here are plentiful and powerful, that is true... but I have no need to take them. I can tell that Morgan would simply be able to restock this arsenal in a short amount of time with the resources that seem to currently be available to her. You are right in your summation that all that stealing these treasures would do is anger Morgan. Besides, I am confident in my own arsenal of weaponry, not to mention Shirou's." She seemed to make up her mind that you weren't going to steal the weapons after all, and you nodded.

"Alright, then lets get out of here before 'Agravain' comes back. Shirou, you ready?" You looked at the boy for a moment and noticed that his eyes had glossed over slightly, and you had to shake him to stir him from the stupor he was in.

"Ah... yeah, let's go, I was just a bit stunned by the amount of weaponry that was on display, but... there seems to be something... odd about all these weapons..." Shirou scratched the back of his head as the three of you turned to flee the armory.

"Odd...? What do you mean by that, Shirou?" You decide to ask the boy for more information on why he thinks the way he does about all the weapons in the armory.

"It's hard to explain, but well... compared to Excalibur, which inspires hope in me whenever I look at it, those weapons... all they seem to inspire is... I don't know... perseverance? Begrudging acceptance? The forging process... it was done by fairies, that's for sure, but... it's almost as if they were forced by a greater power into it against their will." Shirou had apparently figured something out about the blades. "It's like the grudges of the ones who made these weapons are folded into the blades, and while they weren't created with the intention of being cursed weapons, there is a tiny curse held within each." That's... interesting. So all of the weapons were cursed in some way? You're really glad you decided against taking them now. But again, that casts more doubt on just what Morgan is up to. What reason could she possibly have for forcing the fairies to create weapons against their will? How could she do such a thing, even? Was she really this powerful? Or has... or has something increased her strength?

You pondered that as the three of you fled the armory and cloaked yourselves once again, Shirou being held in Arturia's arms for a moment before she slung her mantle around the two of them and rendered them both invisible, and you simply held the stone which granted you the same effect in your palm once again as the three of you disappeared from the world. There was nothing to do now but to leave the castle and find somewhere to regroup, and potentially reunite with any of your other allies that might've been trapped within this world. Didn't the Fairy Knights mention something about a Black Knight? They might well be the solution to your problems, you weren't yet even sure what you were supposed to do in this world.

As you sprinted down the corridors of the castle, all three of you suddenly stopped in your tracks as a large armored woman trudged out of side door! You all immediately stopped in your tracks and you got a good look at the woman. She wasn't quite as tall as Vritra was. Her armor was intricate in design and at her side was... Excalibur Galatine? But the blade appeared to be showing the wear of battle, something that should be impossible for a blade on the level of Excalibur Galatine, but even so, there were obvious cracks in the weapon. Another striking feature of the woman was her long blonde hair that flowed behind her in addition to her eyes, one was turquoise, while the other was blue and orange. The last thing you noticed were the horns atop her head, black with blue and orange highlights, just like her eye. Judging from the weapon... you'd say this would have to be the Fairy Knight Gawain! She stopped in place and... sniffed at the air? She was clearly suspicious of something, had she noticed the three of you somehow?

Shinji doesn't know anything about Barghest, but his last experience with a Fairy Knight had them spare him. We know she'll be weaker than "Agravain" as they claimed they were the strongest by a long margin.

Curtana is the Sword of Mercy, it shouldn't be able to deal fatal blows conceptually, and it's also partially broken to match her scuffed Galatine. Also, if Barghest actually understands what us requesting that sword means that might also earn some early GBP, seeing as she actually does like larping as a KOTR, however Shinji is unaware of this.

The woman is clearly startled by the sudden appearance of the robed man in front of her, so it's even clearer that 'Agravain' is a special case. After all, if this knight didn't know who you were, then how could the Fairy Knight Agravain?

"An... intruder? In the castle?" The female knight suddenly put her hand on her sheathed blade and you could tell she was prepared to draw it on a moment's notice, not that she really had a need for a weapon at all with her body. She was... clearly pretty ridiculously powerful physically, without even needing to rely on the battered looking sword that doesn't even truly belong to her at her side. "You'd best start explaining just what it is you think you're doing here, spellcaster, before I decide it would be more convenient to see if the secrets can't be pulled from your corpse." She spoke in a dangerous tone, but you thought nothing of it.

"Fairy Knight Gawain." You took a guess at the name, but it really couldn't be anybody else. "I am Shinji Makiri, and I would challenge you to an honorable duel following the code of a knight. As such, seeing as I have given you my True Name, I would request the same of you, on your honor as a Knight. Then, we can begin." You requested the woman fight you in honorable combat, and... honestly, it was a bit of a gamble for you to believe that she'd be so quick to follow the code that Gawain himself may have once followed, but... it seemed like she didn't just go by the name of a knight for no reason.

"Grr... fine. If you wish to call upon a code of honor I must follow, then I shall inform you that your first assumption of my True Name was correct. I am the Fairy Knight Gawain... but my original name is Barghest." Barghest? Like... the monstrous dog of British folklore? She... certainly didn't appear monstrous in her current form, but you'd long since reached a point where you could be startled by something that should be grotesque appearing in the form of a beautiful woman. You turned a boat into a little girl the other day, after all. "Now, I hope you aren't going to be too weak. This is my first duel with anybody, and I'd really not like for my first enemy to be a total pushover." She was clearly underestimating you based on your attire, which... you admit, was clearly more fit for a wizard than a swordsman, especially without your breastplate, but you were more than confident in your own abilities.

"Wonderful!" You smile at Barghest, who doesn't seem to know what to make of your enthusiasm. "As I see that your sword is somewhat damaged, I too shall request a 'damaged' blade." You turn to Shirou and Saber who had yet to uncloak themselves. "Shirou, may I request a copy of Curtana for this fight? I wish to make this a fair battle, not decided by the superiority of weaponry, but instead the power of the two fighting."

"Oh, uh... right. Just give me a moment." Shirou and Saber were suddenly revealed to the world as Saber pulled back her mantle, and Barghest immediately fixated on her appearance.

"You... You're... the queen, aren't you?" It looked as if Barghest had gotten just a little bit confused, and you really didn't know what to make of things now. Saber obviously didn't know what to think about so openly being referred to as a Queen either. "No... wait... you... for what reason do you have Ddraig's scent, Queen Mordred?"

Barghest seemed more curious than she seemed hostile right now, but it was clear that your original idea of having her battle you in an honorable one-on-one duel may have just fallen apart. If you aren't careful, there was every chance that things could get real messy now.

While we assume the combat stance, poke a little, ask more about what queen mordred is doing nowadays, see if we can't glean something out of a question or two. Try not to stall in this fight, there's a chance that some other fairy will come and investigate the noise, and that fairy might be someone who just interrupts and things spiral out of control.

Ask about the other knights of the round. Tristan, Lancelot, Agravain, bedivere. The more we know the better. Also ask how morgan is doing. We know she's up to something here.

You think that Saber is capable of dealing with this by herself. She's the one who Barghest is addressing right now, and you do have enough faith in the King of Knights that she'll be able to deceive Barghest into thinking that she's Queen Mordred, as strange as the idea of Mordred being called a queen was. The biggest question on your mind right now though was the identity of Queen Mordred. Was she a native of this world? Or was she your own Mordred? You didn't know right now, but you were certain that you'd find out sooner rather than later. With your own thoughts racing you watched as Barghest looked at Saber with curious eyes.

"Ddraig? Ah." Saber pretended not to understand for a few moments before understanding dawned on her face. "Oh, I see. You're new here, are you not, Barghest?" Saber looked at the taller woman with a calm expression. "Yes, the scent of Ddraig... it... was something I was born with, I have an aspect of Ddraig Goch within me, after all." Wait a minute Ddraig Goch... Then... could that other fairy knight have possibly been another warrior infused with the power of the Red Dragon too? Or perhaps... they were the Red Dragon themselves in human form?! Could Saber have realized that too?

"Y-you were? F-forgive me for my ignorance, my queen, but... were you not born a Fairy to your mother? I had... I have been told by the other knights that you were a pure-blooded fairy... I didn't know that you had been born with the aspects of Ddraig Goch!" Barghest... she didn't exactly seem very intelligent, in fact, it was almost like Saber was managing to convince her, where if Barghest just took a look at things with a keener eye for detail, she'd probably notice quite a lot was wrong.

"Yes... I was, but..." Saber hesitates. "It is not impossible for a Fairy to have traits of a Dragon. It is just... unlikely, is all." Saber's explanation was actually factually correct, considering the existence of Obeithion.

"Oh no, my queen. I am not doubting you, but..." Barghest looked at Saber for a long time before she finally spoke once more. "Don't you normally wear red clothing? And... don't you normally have wings?" Barghest seemed to just be confusing herself now, before realization seemed to start to dawn on her features. "Why are you hiding your wings, your majesty?"

"I am... trying to be.. more like mother." Saber made a reach. "I am keeping my wings hidden in order to... allow the people to find me more approachable." Saber was clearly just making stuff up as she went, hoping that Barghest didn't notice how inconsistent the story being spun was.

"Hmm... well. Weren't you supposed to be visiting the Fae Forge today?" Barghest kept asking Saber questions that Saber really had no real way of knowing what the answer was supposed to be.

"Oh, right! Of course! That's right!" Saber obviously didn't know what that meant at all, but it wasn't stopping her now. She was hitting her stride now, just speaking and hoping that Barghest didn't notice she wasn't saying much of anything.

"P-pardon my rudeness, my queen, but... who exactly are the two men accompanying you? I haven't seen their faces around." Barghest... she really did buy that Saber was the queen, didn't she? This woman... she's not very bright, is she? Then again, it's probably one of the easier assumptions to make about the situation, and Barghest... she did seem like the sort of person who was easy to trick. You felt like it might be a good idea if you stepped in to help Saber out.

Barg spaghetti'd a fair bit of info here, we can now just make the fight a friendly showing for the "Queen", retroactively justified by us specifying Curtana to show we had no intention of anything more than a friendly joust too. If we get tangled in a lie she might seethe though, so I feel it's probably best to just get her eye back on the prize. If Shinji has deduced she's a bit special/naive but is physically capable, it'd be better trying to talk after we've had a bit of a fight.

We might have reason to go investigate the Forge right after this, potentially even convince Barghest to show us the way after the duel as we've 'gotten a little lost exploring the city'. Then she might spaghetti more information on the way if that pans out.

Well we don't know what kind of world this is that Manaka set Morgan up with. We know Morgan loves Artoria, so a world without her wouldn't have been her ideal. Normally, Ddraig is a component of Artoria. Either the welshoid red dragon was used like any other fairy knight, e.g. Melusine!Albion which would be a direct counterpart, or it's a part of Artoria and she's been given the position of a knight?

Maybe Artoria is just a normal girl without Merlin meddling with her birth and adding a dragon core. Morgan is her older sister by quite a long period of time so she probably put Merlin in gbj just like LB6, or deleted him. Mordred is apparently queen though, so maybe this was the case and Artoria died? Maybe palmed off the Kay and Ector and has "died" in the public eye but just gets to be a normal girl without political pressure?

Or maybe she died, Morgan had a fairy moment and Artoria is a zombie just like the Corpse King part of Morgan's "genius" resurrection plan from mainline canon?

Quite possible. Assuming this is Fairyland lostbelt situation, Morgan likely got "re do her life" deal with Manaka so that would mean Fairy Queen Mordred is not our Mordred but Morgan's second attempt at parenting. We are aware that our Mordred is not a fairy and have dragon scent to her so unless Mordred got fairy-niggered this would be diverging timeline Mordred? But knight we fought is likely being Arc so it is making it also possible that our Mordred is indeed Fairy Queen one after she got Mommy Know Best brainwashed by Morgan.
That would explain why Morgan is so uneasy about "extra" Artoria she got and made Ddraig out of.
Both of those things we would only be able to tell after taking a look on this Mordred and Ddraig.
Or it could indeed be that our Morgan got Merlin removed after she got here, made Artoria step down for her own good and this is now somewhat decent kingdom. This would make sense to her character arc as she wants to make things right, amend for her mistakes and have new powers to do so but having fairy moments from time to time.
We really need to find somebody to press for information properly.

But if Morgan actually went and knowingly made second Mordred, while having all her memories, this is the biggest fairy moment she ever had.
But if this is the case could Black Knight actually be our Timelord Mordred? This would connect to her desire to take the throne as rightful ruler and this solves her character arc without need to play map painting game post-war.

One more thing about this.
If they are here so will JETS and all three of them were slaving for Manaka. Could they be Manaka's card against Morgan if Morgan tries to rebel? Morgan doing subpar job at stopping us while making all those weapons could be her scheme against Manaka. More welcoming idea than having to potentially fight buffed Morgan.

Barghest sounded confused by your explanation, but she didn't seem entirely unbelieving. Honestly, you were starting to feel bad about deceiving her. Sure, she was undoubtedly your enemy, but she was just so earnest and quick to trust that it was hard to actually think of her as an enemy.

"Ah... I come from beyond this country, of course. Where I come from this sort of attire is normal for a swordsman, I assure you that though it doesn't focus on defense like your plate does, it is nonrestrictive and allows for movements that would be quite difficult for you replicate in that heavy plate of yours." "Then I suppose I have no choice but to accept your offer of a duel, but... we shouldn't do such things in the hall. We should have our duel in the courtyard, for all to see! T-the queen might be here, but that doesn't mean that it's alright to just duel anywhere, is it?" Barghest swallowed nervously. "N-not that I don't think that you alone are good enough as a witness, your majesty, it's just..."

"Oh, I understand, Barghest." Saber shook her head and gave Barghest a reassuring smile. "A duel without an audience gives the two knights less incentive to battle honorably. However... you do both have witnesses here do you not? Shinji has Shirou, and... well, would you call your own Ki-... Queen an insufficient witness to a duel?" Saber scolded Barghest, and the woman winced a bit.

"O-of course not your majesty! But... in one of the halls of the castle? Is this really suitable for a duel?" Barghest sounded uncertain, but Saber shook her head, almost like a parent scolding a child now.

"Barghest, as a knight, one must be prepared to fight at any moment. Do you think that many battles take place in training arenas or castle courtyards? The fact that this battle is to take place in the halls of the castle is proof of the legitimacy of the battle." Saber dispensed some kingly wisdom onto the knight, who clearly wanted to be a good knight despite her inexperience with the role. That... might've been why Saber was so understanding with her, actually. It did truly seem as if Barghest was at heart a decent person and it was clear that she was taking her role as a knight seriously, unlike the Fairy Knight Agravain, who was... well, saying she was carefree about her duty would be putting it lightly.

"I... I understand, your majesty!" She turned to face you. "I will accept your request of a duel, Sir Shinji!" Her expression hardened. "Please understand that I am forced to hold back some of my strength, the... Queen's mother has expressly forbidden me from using the full extent of my powers, especially on humans like you." She sounded slightly regretful about not being able to access her true power, but you shrugged.

"That's fine, Barghest." She'd given you yet more useful information thanks to that little slip. Does Morgan truly care about the population, then? "Shirou! Curtana, if you would." Shirou nodded, projecting the blade and tossing it over to you. You grabbed it out of the air and examined it for a moment. Curtana, the sword of coronations, and a weapon of mercy. The tip of the blade was squared and blunt while the main body of the blade was sharp. However, other than just the unusual design of the blade it also held a potent magical effect within it. Curtana was the Sword of Mercy, and when used in a one-on-one battle, it would prevent either of the targets from being able to truly fatally wound each other in physical combat. Of course, it was possible to overwhelm the effect of the Noble Phantasm with another Noble Phantasm, but you really doubted Barghest suddenly using Excalibur Galatine's activated ability on you in a duel.

"T-that... that sword!" Barghest frowned as she looked at Curtana, and for a moment you believe she might've recognized it. "Are you... holding back your own strength with a blunt weapon just because I said I too was incapable of using my full strength?!" Wait what is she talking about now? "Is this... the chivalry of a knight?" You sighed and got into a fighting stance with the blade.

"In a sense, I suppose." You kept your answer short as you looked at Barghest, waiting for her to draw her blade. "Now, Sir Gawain." You used her title as a fairy knight to address her. "Draw your sword and let us battle."

Barghest constantly spaghettis useful info, so drawing out the fight gives us lots more to work with, but we should probably end this quickly once a chance appears. Otherwise we risk having someone catch up who isn't a complete retard and we might get captured and sent to GBJ. But Shinji still has E STR, and even though we don't know Barghest's stats yet, Shinji has already surmised she'd have pretty high STR/END from her armour + figure. With Curtana in effect there isn't much reason to bother with Truth projections for now, and we can go pretty hard in the sudden offensive shift as Curtana will prevent it being fatal.

Also, if it's daytime Numeral of the Saint activates, also Barg outgrugs Shinji pretty hard if she isn't rused.

"Very well." Barghest drew Excalibur Galatine, and you could see clearly the damage done to the blade now. You don't know what the woman was doing to the blade, but it really shouldn't be possible to have managed to do that much damage to a blade forged by fairies like Excalibur Galatine was, right? Pure physical strength alone and battle damage shouldn't be able to wear away at the blade, should it? Not unless she was far more powerful than you had first assumed.

You point Curtana at Barghest. "Let's get to it, shall we?" You smirk at the knight as you get into a loose combat position, mostly focusing on dodging and parrying her, though as you got into position, you activated your Pure Eye and finally got a good look at the knight, and finally, it seemed as if the ability was able to work correctly, as in an instant, a torrent of new information flooded into your mind about Barghest, with only a few things that couldn't be breached by your appraising eye. It's actually quite a relief for the Pure Eye to function. For a moment, you had thought that it was simply non-functioning. Of course, it did beg the question of why it is being so unreliable within this world, if it worked as you had wanted it to on Barghest.

You clicked your tongue in thought as you observed Barghest's abilities, physically, she was a monster, and her parameters were incredible too. While not on the level of the Fairy Knight Agravain, she was physically already a Top Class Saber, but with Numeral of the Saint available to her, she was at least close to the level of her fellow knight. Of course, without the activation of the skill through the usage of Excalibur Galatine or the sun shining upon her, it shouldn't be too difficult to win against her. Unfortunately, she had no easily exploitable weaknesses, her Madness Enhancement didn't seem as if it would be coming into play here either, though you were thankful for that. This was, for all intents and purposes, an actual duel, and not something where you would want your enemy to lose their self to their madness and start actively trying to kill you. Curtana was only a C-rank Noble Phantasm, and would certainly have its protective enchantments overwhelmed should Barghest use the activated effect of Excalibur Galatine on you. You were betting on the good nature of Barghest that she wouldn't do such a thing.

After a brief stand-off between you and Barghest, with the woman coming to realize that you had no intention of making the first move, she stepped forwards and began a rapid charge at you, her speed was incredible, but the moment you activated your Dragon Core, you were faster. You dodged out of the way of her first strike, allowed the second to harmlessly slide off of Curtana, the force behind the attack being diminished by the power of the blade. She growled as she spun around and attempted a wide slash, clearly hoping to put her superior range to use and overwhelm you with her size. All you did to avoid that strike was jump upwards, leaping directly over Barghest while using her head as a stepping stone. It didn't actually do all that much outside of make Barghest annoyed and make you look stylish.

"Hey! What the hell was that?!" Barghest frowned as she realized just what you had done, though you only smirked widely at the woman. Even though she wasn't an enemy, and was quite earnest as a knight, there was really a part of you that couldn't help but taunt opponents in fights, it was kind of petty, but it was effective nonetheless.

"I dodged your attack, Barghest." You said it plainly, and the woman growled once more, charging forward with terrible speed. Her charge alone causing cracks to form in the floor and wall of the corridor, she was fast, there was no doubt about it, but so long as you had your Dragon Core, you were faster, and there was nothing that she could do to hit you unless she started to fight smart. Unfortunately, her armor was incredibly thick, and you could tell that only a perfect strike would allow you to take the woman down in this fight. Thankfully, Curtana couldn't actually kill an opponent, so you were safe to actually make a lethal strike with it. Even if such a thing would be difficult with the blade being blunt.

You didn't really have the time you needed to use your runes on yourself, so you were mostly left with Mana Burst. You needed to end this fight, and you calmed your senses as you took a good look at Barghest's body, it was heavily armored, and Curtana wouldn't be able to pierce it. So, with her armor in mind, to take her out, you were going to target her...

This should indicate to her our victory without it seeming derogatory as such combination not unlike Ath nGabla but to show victory over your opponent. Connecting to her primal nature with establishing dominance like this also plays in both aspects of her recognizing our strength and translating to her our superior position over her as this play on both her personality and natural instincts.

If she gets into a proper fight or that blade connects with Arondight or any other unbreakable weapon/shield, or even just from excessive use it'll shatter and she'll return to rip and tear calamity doge. She even mentions she's quite new/young, and she's extremely naive. Odds are she was only just appointed as a Fairy Knight and Galatine is already on its last legs which is kinda bad.

You charge directly at Barghest with Curtana, using your Mana Burst for the first time in the battle to propel yourself forwards at a speed that she can't even react to with the blade of Curtana pointed directly at her breastplate. She can barely even respond in time to gasp in surprise at your immense speed as the blunt end of Curtana smashes into her breastplate and while it doesn't pierce it, it stuns her for the moment that you need to use the impact against her armor to pivot yourself off of your own blade and up into the air, back-flipping as you passed over the woman and landing on her back. Curtana clattered to the ground as you held onto her back.

"Hey! W-what the hell are you doing now?!" Barghest started to struggle wildly to shake you off, trying to reach behind her to grab you off of her, but her armor was much too bulky to allow her to make such a movement. It was quite humorous, that she would have such thick armor that it would become an inconvenience against a smaller enemy with a speed advantage.

You didn't feel the need to answer her verbally, instead, you whipped your right hand out towards the back of her neck, grabbing her by the scruff of her neck and holding tightly. Barghest was a dog, so by that logic, holding the scruff of her neck should have quite the calming effect. You weren't holding her painfully either, just with enough force that you felt was neccessary for bringing the woman to heel.

Your theory seemed to work out quite well, as nearly immediately after being grabbed by the scruff of her neck, her struggles decreased in intensity somewhat. But... you weren't stopping there. Now that her struggles had decreased a little, you were free to use your other hand that was holding on for something else. You quickly used your left hand to trace temporary runes on the back of her armor. Fehu, Thurisaz and Gebo. All runes that were made to affect her more primal instincts as Barghest and force her to recognize your dominance as well as your victory. "I told you to get... off!" Barghest suddenly surged with power, but it wasn't enough to break your grip, and her last attempt to shake you off ended in failure as the energy she had just summoned up amounted to nothing.

"I don't think I will. Now, are you ready to surrender yet, Barghest?" You spoke softly into the ear of the woman who you were currently riding.

"Nghh..." Barghest seemed close to surrender, and you realized that you were close to securing victory, until she suddenly just... fell over backwards on top of you, using you as a cushion for her own fall and crushing you under her weight. All of a sudden, your plan had gone from working flawlessly to falling apart. The runes that you traced on the back of Barghest's armor shattered too! "I think I should be asking the same of you, Sir Shinji." The woman sounded terribly pleased by her solution to your strategy, and it was undeniably effective. In a contest of strength alone, you couldn't push her off of you! She was too strong! But... you might be able to do something else...

As Knight of the Sun, Gawain connected and draws strength from the Sun and Nasu made Ammy to be the Sun as part of his Syncretism for Tamamo.
Barghests are wild mythical dogs who haunt and bring misfortune and often viewed as being able to foretell deaths and bad events happening to people whom encounter them.
Okuriōkami is japanese for escort wolf, a benevolent servant of a specific kami or guardian spirit. As Sun connection make her aligned to Ammy and Barghest`s innate abilities for omen predictions further connects her to okuriōkami. Additionally, as a Fairy Knight, she also has a strong connection to guardian spirits. Overall, this prevents her from transforming into a monster, which is a big concern for her, and helps to empower her good side, personal qualities and powers.

Between her good nature as a person and us fulfilling her desire, we also technically work for Mordred too, and so helping her out is our job as well. While we are not fully aware of the situation here, we know enough to explain our motivation without looking dishonorable or making her develop a grudge.
Framing this as a test and potentially promising her a proper duel later would also sit right with her. And it won`t be an outright lie either, as we indeed used this fight to test her power and Pure Eye showed us just enough to make a decision.

You didn't bother summoning Rhongomyniad to your hand, nor did you pick up Curtana once more. Instead, you summoned the weapon that you had the most faith in. "Ack!" Barghest grunted in pain as she smashed into the floor, having fallen from the ceiling already, though she didn't remain on her back for long. "Yeah! That's what I'm talking about! That's what a real fight is about!" She was getting excited now, it seems. "You're strong, aren't you? I thought you weren't going to be able to get me off of you, and then you go ahead and do something like that!" You can see that there were... cracks on one of her horns? Had you done more damage than you intended? Wait a second... was she taller now? No, it was just your imagination, you were pretty sure. "Come on, Sir Shinji! Show me just what you can do!" She charged towards you with a renewed speed, grasping for your face with her hand! It was all that you could do to avoid the strike landing, stepping to the side just in time to strike at her with your Truth Blade!

The edge of the blade connected with her armor, and time seemed to freeze for a moment as you noticed black cracks forming down the Blade of Truth, and shining golden cracks forming on Barghest's armor! You didn't even have the time you needed to defend yourself before a tremendous explosion rocked the room as the Blade of Truth exploded, just as Barghest's armor had been detonated.

The two of you skidded across the floor of the corridor, Barghest tumbling across the floor like a rag-doll while you managed to stay mostly on your feet. What the hell was that?! "Barghest... your armor! What... What was that?! Why did it explode!?" You demanded an answer from the woman, who got to her feet despite her injuries. She was still wearing her under armor, thankfully, but she was obviously that much more vulnerable now, not to mention hurt.

"What was that...?" She pondered aloud. "That was the fight getting interesting! Now, entertain me, Shinji!" She had dropped the sir from your name now, but all of a sudden, before the dog woman could charge at you once again, the atmosphere of the room seemed to freeze, and an oppressive density of magical energy seemed to flood the place.

"No, Barghest. That will be enough. Return to the rest of the knights." Morgan suddenly spoke from the shadows with a neutral tone.

"Morgan!" Saber shouted at her sister and drew her blade looking for the source of the void, though the only response she received from her sister was a shake of her head.

"I have no need for you or your husband right now, sister. Disappear until you are needed." As Saber seemed to discern Morgan's location and charged at her, a reflective mirror appeared in front of her that she stumbled right into, and another mirror appeared directly below Shirou's feet, and the two of them were gone.

"But... Lady Morgan!" Barghest sounded like she was about to complain, but seemed to decide against it, fleeing into the corridor without further complaint.

When you were truly alone, Morgan spoke once more. "I'm sure you have many questions, Shinji. About what's happening here, about how this world came about." Suddenly, black chains pierced through the floor, wrapping around you. "It's unfortunate that things have happened this way, but I was forced into this by our... mutual acquaintance." You struggled in the chains, and you realized immediately that they were designed to sap your energy. "If you have any questions, I suggest you ask them now." Morgan sounded almost sad.

Her answers to given options seems obvious so unless somebody have anything specific like hitting her the question about Mordred and this mirroring her past actions for which she deeply regrets about, I can only think of doing little smirk in her face. No point in mentioning YHWH or Nyarly either.

When I run my quest, abilities like that will either not be in it, or they will be played completely straight without any bullshit if they will be. After so much "oh look at this cool power this character has! guess how useful it really ends up being! that's right! zero!" in media, I'm fucking done with this sort of bad meta-garbage

We were arrogant enough to assume concepts would work. We were arrogant enough to assume the Sword of Truth would work. That arrogance has already bitten us in the ass twice so far. Have we learned nothing? Why are we arrogant enough to assume we know Morgan's answers? And why are we arrogant enough to assume that our death would affect her world, that it's doomed, or that we can offer her more than Manaka? We don't know anything about what's going on. We need answers first before we can decide how best to approach this. And I don't believe for a second that King Mordred Pendragon agreed. Abject more information, reminding Morgan of her promise is our best bet to begin driving a wedge between her and Manaka.

Saverchad anon write-in is very good option too since it plays Morgan like a fine violin and it shows we care for her and Mordred.
And if Manaka watches it directly? Arrogance and anger is her expectations from Shinji so it is works well to play on Manaka's arrogance and lower her vigilance for comeback after something which is likely depowering and relearning to fight with his other powers.
Also, she likely sent Saber and Shirou somewhere for them to start working on rescue plan for us so if you have any trust for Morgan don't mention them at all since it could make observing Manaka to go check on them herself.

Again, contradictory to the above. What is actually happening with Mordred here? Is she a prisoner? Is she mind-controlled? Did Manaka create a Mordred copy and the real Mordred is somewhere out there? We don't know, and we can't know unless we actually ask.
