Welcome back to Tai Lung's path to self discovery, not only for himself but for those around him as well. In the last thread, Tai Lung and his friends climb the Huangshan mountains and finally arrive at the long sought after Sacred Library. Upon meeting it's leader, an ancient monkey only refered to as The Exarch by his people, the group is denied information regarding the location of the Pools of Contemplation. After hearing the group's pleas, the Exarch agrees to give them a chance. Tai Lung and the gang are tasked to live withing the walls of the Sacred Library and prove that they can uphold the values of the library and strive to improve themselves in a significant way in one year.Archive: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive.html?tags=Tai%20Lung%20quest
"I'd like to speak with the Guard Captain. " You say. "I have a proposition for him." "I'm sorry but the Captain doesn't take suggestions or visitors." The fox says politely. "If you have a complaint then we can register them here and a guard will be assigned to look into the issue.""Is there no way to see him?" You ask."I'm afraid not." The fox replies. "If we allowed anyone to see him then we'd see no end to the line of people wanting to complain to him directly. Similarly, if we took every suggestion a citizen had, he'd never see his desk again.""Then how does anyone get any information to him or notify him of something?" You press, beginning to get a bit frustrated."We have a bi monthly meeting in the city hall were citizens may present their concerns and complaints directly to the Guard Captain and Mayor." The fox explains calmly. You're starting to get the feeling that they are quite used to this. "During these meetings citizens are allowed to voice their concerns or ideas and those that do not have the chance may offer them in written form to be reviewed by the Captain, the Mayor, and the Brotherhood themselves. We highly recommend you attend these meetings if you have something you'd like to suggest.""When's the next one then?" You ask now feeling a bit sheepish."Our next meeting with be next week, sir.""Right...thanks.""I'm sorry that this isn't what you expected but we have these systems in place to help everyone in the long run. I hope you understand." The fox scrawls something on a scrap of paper and hands it to you. You take it and see that it contains an address and a date and time. "That is our next city meeting. If there is nothing else I could help you with then I bid you good day and ask that you please allow the next person in line to come forward.">What do you do?>Ask the fox something else. "Thank you for your time. It's just a bit of a new concept." You say. The fox nods."It's understandable, many villages don't have these kinds of systems in place because of how small they are." They say."I do have a question though. I'm looking for a guard named Tenzin. He was working the gate when I first arrived. I was wondering if I could know how to find him?" You ask."Ah, Guard Tenzin is currently on duty." He says. "I can let him know you're searching for him. He should be scheduled to finish his shift this afternoon." You nod."Yeah, if you could. Thanks." You say. The fox scawls another note."And may I have the address of where your residing?" He asks."Oh...I live in the acolyte's dorms. I'm ussually there in the mornings and at night. Always out during the day...but I also spend my afternoons out of the city walls. He'd probably know that already now." You explain."And may I have your name sir?""It's Tai Lung." You say. The fox pauses for a moment but professionalism pushes through and he nods."Ok sir. I'll make sure he gets the memo." The fox says."So...why can Tenzin get notes and not the Captain?" You ask."It was a request from Tenzin himself." The fox says. "And it was approved by the Captain.""Do you know where he'd be patrolling right now?" You ask."I'm afraid I can't give you that information. My apologies. Like I said, his shift ends in about 4 hours so you're welcome to wait here if you'd like." You shake your head."I'll probably come back at a later time." You admit. "I do have a few things I want to take care of.""Very well sir." You step away and allow someone else to walk up to the fox's desk. Despite the fact that screaming immediately begins, something about their son not being a drunk and how dare the guards throw him in jail, the fox maintains a cool professionalism. You decide to leave for now and go do something else.>What do you do?>Go and train Ming.>Ask around the gate and see if you can catch Tenzin. Pain training was always difficult, for both you and Ming. It often felt cruel to just hit the poor cat even if you held everything back. Rather than simply spend the entire time hitting the poor woman, you decide to incorporate other training into the regimen. You increase the pace and speed of dodge training, and even manage to borrow a spinning training dummy from the guards to teach Ming basic blocks incase she falls into the worst case senario of being unable to dodge. Part of pain training was to be able to fight through the pain rather than be able to ignore it. Being able to simply ignore pain was of no use if you simply froze up and allowed yourself to continue to get hit. These exercises ended briefly when you thought Ming was getting hit too much but in a real fight, an opponent would offer no such luxury. While training was slow and you still had no real idea of how well Ming was progressing beyond the point she seemed to be able to go longer while being hit though you're not sure if she's getting used to the pain or was simply pushing herself to appease you. Besides that, she was taking the other lessons quite well. By now, you could safely say that she could go toe to toe with people who are at least somewhat trained in the basics of martial arts though you believe that if she was pushed, she could handle a single trained martial artist alone. She could block decently but it was mostly the pain that was holding her back. Contrary to popular belief, blocking an attack hurt just as much as getting hit directly by one. The only difference is a well trained defender could deflect or redirect an attack in such a way that the impact had less energy behind it and it would hit a nonvital area."Haa...You're gonna kill me one of these days." Ming moans as she collapses on the ground."The whole point of this is so you don't get killed." You chuckle as you sit down and pull out some fruit to snack on. As you chew, you realize how empty your training field was without the rabbits. No attempts to sneak food out of your bag. No fond looks from Renshu or quiet musings. "Well I'm worried you're gonna be the one to do it well before we put any of this to the test." Ming says grumpily as she grabs her share of dragon fruit. "I think I'd rather just run laps around the city.""Congratulations, that's next week's routine." Ming simply pouts at you. She chews on her food quietly for a moment before asking, "Hey...why do you fight?" She asks. You look at Ming, midchew and swallow. "You know why we fight. To protect people. To stop those who take advantage of the weak." Ming shakes her head. "Not us. You. Why do you do it?" She asks."I...don't understand the question." You admit. "I would think it's the same reason."
Ming sits up, drinks some water, and wipes some sweat off of her forehead before shaking her head. "No. Why do you fight? Why do you need to hurt people to do that? You're big and strong. There's other ways you can do it. Like...you can tie people down. Or maybe you can use poisons to knock people out. Or use traps. Stuff that stops people without hurting them. Even when you were small and were learning Kung Fu. Did you ever stop and wonder if there was another way of doing this? You know, to stop people without hurting them."You think about that. You couldn't deny Ming did make some good points.>What do you say?>Write in.

"I. . . No, no I didn't, not really. Martial arts were what my Father taught me to do and . . Well you know that story." You say sheepishly. "But the reason I fight now is because its how I have always fixed violent confrontations with those who were opposed to me, first the five then bandits and He ling. And I suppose it's also something I take pride in, in proving that my skills are superior to theirs and my years of effort have culminated into something that cant be dismissed or ignored, its putting my ideals against another's. I won't stop helping people, nor trying to redeem those that did wrong. Bone and wounds can heal, but your soul is eternal. But I guess if you want to be practical, it is also the most effective way to do things. You cannot bind someone without hurting someone, poisons can kill and traps are just as harmful as kung fu. So those arent perfect solutions either. That being said, I have been working on something, which I can try and give you a demonstration of, if you would like, where you fight without harming.""No thanks. You beat me enough as it is. I think I'll stay here and lick my wounds thanks." Ming says with a laugh. She goes quiet and says, "But you can bind people without hurting them with nets, poisons can work if handled with care and education, and traps can be good as well with leg snares, bolas, trip wires." She says. "I think we might be able to find an alterantive if we put as much effort into looking for them as you do for fighting.""Well...isn't that the point of how you want to fight?" You ask. "Throwing things and using alchemy to subdue people without having to hit them? I won't say you don't have a point and I won't say that it's a lesser point of view and fighting style. If that is how you want to focus your training then I'll do everything in my power to help you accomplish your goals. You don't have to be like us. You can be better.""But I want you to be better too." Ming says. "It doesn't need to be an all or nothing affair."
"And we are trying to be better...but there is evil out there. Real evil." You say thinking back to He Ling and Jianguo. "People who have fallen too far to be helped. We'll offer our hands to help pull them out of darkness but sometimes...sometimes I think people have fallen so far that they've lost the spark of hope within themselves that allows them to see that they can change and when that happens I don't think even we can help them." You take a drink. "That's why I'm worried about Renshu. I think he's close to that sometimes. I think he hates himself enough that he might slip and lose that hope as well and when that happens...I'm not sure if any of us will have the heart to take him down."Ming gives you a gentle smile and places a hand on your leg. "I don't think that will happen. He might not see it but I think deep down he knows that he can change. Maybe that's why the two left to do their own thing. I think that's a sign of healing. They might feel comfortable enough with themselves that they want to leave their comfort zone. It's like they want to see where they're failings are on their own so they can learn what to work on. Maybe they want to put into practice what you've been teaching them. That at least shows that they're earnest in their want to change." You nod quietly. She was right. All your speeches and attempts to help the two become better wouldn't matter if they didn't take the lessons to heart. It would be even worse if they thought that they could only do so when they were with you. So the fact they wanted to spend time alone at least meant they were willing to give it a real try."Well I've also been trying to be better." You admit. "I've been trying to learn something new but I can't seem to be able to get it right. Do you know how I could memorize things while not paying attention?" You ask."I'm sorry?" Ming ask confused."Well it's like this..." You say and explain your training to learn how to meditate during chaotic situations and the hangups you were having. Ming listens intently as she always does and thinks for a while."Well...I think you're approaching this all wrong." She says as she rubs her chin. "You're not trying to learn things while ignoring it and it's not like you want to learn everything in one glance." She pauses. "You're not trying to memorize things at all actually. I think what you should try to do is simply process things while your taking them in and then do that without thinking." She tugs at a strand of hair. "Or maybe that's the same thing...In anycase, I think what you want to be able to do is be able to understand what you're seeing without having to pause and look around.""I already do that while fighting." You say. "I'm trying to meditate while fighting." Ming shakes her head.
"No. I've seen you fight. Well, you're kind of a blur when you do that but I can see you pause or slow down occasionally and I think you use that to take note of your surroundings." Ming says. "You want to do it without stopping.""Isn't that the same thing?" You ask, now thoroughly confused."I'm not sure." Ming replies and shakes her head. "But what we want to do is make you see things and memorize them really fast. Not just ignore everything and then suddenly you remember it all. We want to make that process of you taking in your surroundings something you do instinct. Kind of like blocking." You nod, now just going along and helplessly lost."So...how would you reccomend doing that?" You ask."Erm...what if you meditate or try to while someone is talking to you?" She suggests. "Then you try and repeat what they told you. Or...what if when you're going around town...Xin or Renshu just barely sneak by you and do something or hold something up. They do this several times and at the end of the day, you try to remember what those things where? That way you teach yourself to be aware while not being aware?""It just sounds like I'm teaching myself to be wary for any attack." You admit. "And I'm not sure Xin would like it if I took away their ability to sneak up on me." You chuckle."True...oh! What about we just do it while we're training? That way you're focused on something and if you mess up, you get hit?" She says uncertain. "I thought I was going somewhere with that...But I think the point is that you need to be really busy and try to memorize or notice things in your surroundings while your mind is normally too occupied to do so. Like when you're fighting, your brain doesn't keep track of the color of someone's weapon or how many whiskers on an opponent's left cheek there are. The trick is to start big then work to small details.""Hmm...that does sound like a way to do it." You admit as you chew on some more fruit. "As I get used to it, I can work on more objects and details then work on smaller things.""Exactly." Ming says.>What do you say?>Talk to ming about something. Ask her some questions. "Well hopefully I can get this done before I advance. I sent in my paper to apply but I haven't heard anything." You admit."It's a bit slow." Ming admits. "What'd you write about?""I wrote about Chi and Spirits." You say. "I had one of my roommates help me write things out."Ming scratches her cheek. "Well...I think that's your problem." She says cautiously. "I mean...how many people can read your paper and know what you're talking about? It's not like alchemy where anyone can pick it up and do it. So I'm guessing the ammount of people who can verify your work is a lot smaller.""But I remember being told that many of the Brotherhood can speak with spirits." You say. "So I didn't think it would be a problem.""Well...maybe they can't speak with them well. You said that you couldn't speak with the spirits well for a while. That it was only emotions or vague statements. Maybe they're not as good as you. After all...you did spend a few decades studying them when you died." She explains."Yeah...I guess that makes sense." You admit. "But surely there's papers and other works too right?""And that also takes time." Ming says. "They have to research your research. You did kind of pick a rather esoteric topic. I'm sure they'll come to ask you to defend your work soon enough." You nod. Ming did have a point now that you thought of it. Just because you had made so much progress in the subject didn't mean that others had the same luck or ability. It could simply be that you had a talent for it. Come to think of it, didn't the monks in Zhengyi say that it was rare for someone to be able to commune with a single element let alone all of them or even being able to head to the spirit realm via meditation. "I'm not really sure how to continue." You admit. "What do you have to do to advance from where you are?" You ask"Well...the first advancement is mostly to show your proficiency in a subject. You can make a hypothesis or offer a suggestion on how to advance the topic but it's not nessecary. To get to the third rank, you have to offer a way to advance the subject but you also need to do research and offer evidence that supports your claims. It doesn't need to be provable right then and there but you have to be able to show such a thing is possible with your research. From what I heard to advance to the fourth rank, you need to develop a way to actually prove what your claiming and show results from your work. An actual test and years of results that show what your claiming is true. Like...if you invent a new medicine to treat something untreatable then you need to show how to make the medicine, how to administer it, and proof that it works."
"That's...a lot of work." You say. Ming nods."That's why people spend many years here. It's not something you can just easily go up in rank. You need to be dedicated and hard working. It requires work beyond just pouring over books." She says. You sit there and think for a moment. What could you offer to advance that far? You knew martial arts and talking to spirits but...how could you do any of the extra things? Proving new methods and ideas? Advancing the area of the subject? Those seemed a bit beyond your scope. You go quite for a while as you ponder these questions."You know..." You say as your mind begins to idly wonder about dinner. "I did once say you would learn new things if you followed Xin and me, I just never thought it would have been like this." You say amused. "How's the new position?""It's great." Ming says with a grin. "I can boss you around now so you're paying for dinner now. That's an order.""Nice try." You chuckle. "But it's technically Xin's turn to pay for dinner. We'll just put in on their tab.""I think I'll pass. I don't want to wake up with my face covered in drawings once they find out we left them with the bill." Ming says laughing. "The Library is great." She says getting back on topic. "There's so much to read and so much to learn. I never would have imagined such a place like this would exist. Even back home, our library was pretty small but now...I have every book ever written to pour over. Sometimes I need to remind myself that I have to sleep otherwise I'd go the whole night reading. There's dozens of people who share my interests and I can chat with them...you know...without having to hide who I am." She says. You smile and pet Ming. She reaches up and slaps your hand away at the wrist using hers before you can reach her. She looks up, surprised and wide eyed. You pause and laugh out loud. A perfect block on pure instinct. You reach out once more ruffle Ming's ears. "Hey, looks like someone was paying attention to my lessons." You say with a grin."Shush you." Ming says, blushing and giving you a playful shove. "I'm just trying to keep you from making me do more training." She counters.
You continue to pet Ming's head and shake your head. "Thanks for sticking with us. You had not real reason to follow two strangers, let alone two murderers. Then even choose to stay with all three of us after all the happened in Zhengyi. I'm not sure we'd be the same people without you around. You're a vote of confidence to what we're doing that I don't think anyone else could bring. You really are the heart and soul of the group.""Oh stop it you." Ming says giggling and blushing harder. "I just had to stick around or you'd all wind up dead. Someone needs to make sure you're patched up." She says leaning forward and pinching your cheek. "I mean it." You say, smiling. "You're a moral compass this group needs and I'm glad you decided to come along with us.""Please. Without you, I'd never have left that stuffy old shop. I'd probably still be taking inventory and being bored, waiting for something to happen in my life." She says. "Now, I'm in a secret library. I've seen ghosts and monsters. And look how good looking I am." She says flexing her muscles. "I've caught you staring." She teases, causing you to blush slightly.>What do you say?>Continue to make small talk with Ming.>Ask Ming about training. What does she want to learn next?>Ask Ming about your friends. Perhaps magic can be the key to making that non-lethal painless option that you want to have.>Also, I've been thibking up to trying to propose to the guard captain in the next town meeting to help train the militia, and if it works out maybe branch to civilian, or even include meditation. So maybe you will get to be a senior to more classmates soon.
Gonna make dinner. Be back later. >>4875825I think it would be like unconcious everything else? Like you can fully focus everything on fighting and don't need to worry about movement or keeping track of targets. Although I will admit being able to fight and defend without thinking so you can talk and look around while in combat as easily as simply standing in a crowded street sounds fucking terrifying considering the monster Tai Lung is already. He's already a blur in a fight, his movements flowing from one attack to another like a dance, defending and predicting attacks as if he was several steps ahead and had manipulated his foes into doing them. Now imagine that with him not even taking the time to notice you.Spooky stuff.
>>4875943That really is going to be perfect for the developing the the magical fist of peace.Since we got to have our eyea closed and let the emotion on us and shit.
>>4875943At higher tier's I think we would have to take notice of the foe since even unconsious minds can be decieved. But dumb ass punks like the triads and the yakuza? We already wasted a gang of them and did two take downs without even looking, so that is truly an army killing tool.>>4875952I think we should be saving that for tier 3 and 4. Since the kung fu is really the best thing we are ever able to do.
>>4875820>>4875875Taking these and writing.
"Please. You sound like Xin right now." You say as your face grows red."Well I've had other kinds of training too you know. Someone needs to keep you on your toes when they're gone." Ming says with a grin."I think...as your teacher I don't approve of your extra training." You say scratching the back of your head. Ming laughs. "Well that's too bad. As your best student, I think you should have some leniency on me." Ming says and she sticks her tongue out at you."Best student huh?" You say. "I'm pretty sure you're my only one.""So that means I'm the best." Ming replies. You a have feeling of Deja Vu as you vaguely recall this exact exchange happening sometime before."Well, best student, what should I be training you next?" You ask, amused. Ming thinks for a moment."Well I want to know how to be a deadly shadow, stalking my prey until the right moment. My enemies will perish before they even saw me!" She says with a grin."Xin Lan really is rubbing off on you." You chuckle."Well maybe they're just a better teacher." Ming teases."Hush you." You say poking Ming's shoulder. "Now really. What do you want to learn?"Ming thinks, seriously this time, for a moment before awnsering. "Well...you know a lot of styles right?""I know all of them." You say with a smirk."Can you teach me some kind of style that focuses only on kicks?" She asks."Kicks?" You ask, surprised."Is that a bad style?" Ming asks."No. There's plenty of styles that incorporate kicks but none that use only kicks." You say as you mull over your various techniques. "All of them have some kind of punching or elbow attacks.""Do you think I could learn one that uses only kicks though?" She asks."Why just kicking?" You ask, now curious."Because I don't want blood on my hands." Ming replies. "I'm a doctor. My hands were made trained to heal, my alchemy to protect. If I have to fight then I will but I won't betray the work my hands have done by bloodying them with violence.""What happened to not harming people?" You ask. "You did make a big deal about that."
Ming goes quiet. "I don't want to hurt anyone." She agrees. "If I could, I would talk all my problems out and I still think there should always be an alternative. But...what if I don't have time? What if you're not around? I'm not dumb...I know that one day I'll be pushed to have to fight even if it's on someone else's behalf. If that happens and I'm not ready? Then it's just as much my fault than it is who ever attacked.""But what about throwing needles? Xin Lan was going to train you on that." You say."Yeah but ammo runs out and people can get close too right? I think I should be ready for anything." Ming replies.>What do you say?>Tell Ming that she needs to learn to use her hands if she wants to learn melee combat. Fighting without them is a severe handicap.>Tell Ming that she should focus on only throwing. It compliments her alchemy best.>Tell Ming that if that is what she wants to learn then you'll teach her everything you know. It'll just be that much harder and she'll need to put in much more effort.>Write in.
>>4876277>How about using some sort of staff like Mei Ling uses? It should allow you to still mantain distance, keep your hand unblodied, and most of the combat styles incorporate kicks too.
>>4873713ok so i tried to do this but god damn i just couldnt stop cuming
>>4876277>Ask how she feels about using a staff or other melee weapon>If still no, then Teach her everything she wants to know.Shun Akiyama-san coming right through.
>>4876290If I may add something to this. There's also throws and chokes. Those don't have to be lethal, in fact both of them are well suited to incapacitation. Throws can put a guy on the ground of course but also give one the ability to keep them down via pinning. Ya don't always have to keep them down forever too because you can always get someone else to cleanly knock them out or if need be, switch them to a choke and get them unconscious that way. Jiu Jitsu basically is what I'm proposing, plus the staff. We could possibly add armbars and similar maneuvers into the mix but they're very intent on using pain to stop a fight and that's both not what I think ming would want to use and not that reliable in a real fight unless they decide to push hard and break an arm because pain is as we know very subjective. Some can take alot, some don't
>>4876795Throws May be good but chokes are worthless with mings stated desire to not hurt people. And I will be honest, I genuinely admire the sentiment, no matter how much of a pain it would be to do.That being said, her legs would need to be stronger than most and her speed would take just as much of a requirement. Kicking with the frequency of raindrops in a typhoon takes quite a bit.
>>4876290Also, what good wizard/mage/sorceror/witch doesn't have a staff? If she's worried about accidentatly hurting someone with a weapon, she can soften the tips, either with a softer wood, or with other material, like rubber or cotton, or something.
>>4876290>>4876717>>4877015Asking Ming about a staff style. Writing.
Current Ming in mountain clothing when not in uniform.
>>4877569Woooow. When did that come in?!
>>4877569So the braids are cannon, and not just a quirk of the first image.Writing it down. When I stop procastinating, I will draw more shit.
"What about a staff?" You suggest, "Like Mei Ling? Her style has plenty of kicks and you can maintain a distance."Ming thinks of a moment. "Mmm...maybe not. Well...maybe. I think a staff would be cumbersome. I'm already carrying my bags and various other alchemy things. Plus don't I need my hands free to be able to throw stuff? Carrying a staff around seems like it would only hinder my ability to do that. Mei Ling always has it in her hands when walking around and the like." Ming imitates trying to draw something from a pocket or from a sleeve. "Feels kind of hard to do that if I'm holding a staff.""Well you could always throw the staff first." You joke. Ming smacks your arm."I'll throw you first." She says. "But a staff could suit you." You continue. "The ends could be padded to soften the blows.""Wouldn't that make it less effective? And aren't most staff strikes from the middle portions?" She asks."Well yes, you tend to use the sides to have a wider area to hit with but that's not the only style." You admit as you think. "But your style could simply focus on blocking with the staff and attacking with kicks. They're quite versatile weapons.""Well let's continue brain storming." Ming says. "What other kind of things do you suggest?" She asks>What do you say?>Suggest another kind of fighting style. She doesn't need weapons but only kicking isn't the only option.>Suggest another weapon. There are tons more besides staves.>Try to convince Ming to stick only throwing or at least use her hands.>Write in.
>>4876795>>4877561Also don't forget about anon's sugestion of holds, grapples and throwns boss.
>>4877631It's too late! (I'll...I'll add it next time)
>>4877611Sadly, this is just another image I found. It's actually kind of hard to find good images for someone who isn't TL or the bunnies. I do wish I could say I had an artist friend to request images from.>>4877624The first image had braids? I know it had curly hair but yeah they're canon now. Ming's been growing her hair out and has it braided now.
>>4877628Well fuck. How about bracers? So she could have the wrists and the back of the hands with iron, making blocking easier, and also protecting them. That way she can develop a more slapping style, and one that that makes attacks flow away. And even if she doesn't use it, they can help with blocking, and gloves will protect her fingers so that she can't loose precision.Oh fuck, how about nunchunck? Or a segmente staff? Or tonfas?Tgere's also a wepon I remember seeing while playing Kenshi. Jitte I think? They are a blunt sword catcher weapon, and could look as a wand for that magical look too.
>>4877633Yes it had. They are a bit hidden by the hood, only saw it when I downloaded the image to try and make that New Years thing. Here's a clickbait style edit to make them easier to notice.
>>4877641Nunchuncks and tonfas are fairly portable...as far as I've seen in the media. It would solve both her encumbrance issue, considering she is carrying a lot of stuff and even more if you want her weidling throwing weapons and alchemical items. She already wears gloves becuase she needs to prevent her claws from accidentally slicing up her patients during surgeries and she's mentioned she feels rather bare without them at least when being a doctor.I think the best way to look at it is that her new equipment shouldn't interfere with her ability to be a surgeon/doctor on the spot. Ming isn't willing to compromise her ability to heal in order to fight as much as she wants to learn how to do it.
>>4877628The chi strikes we were considering do involve a touch, but they dont hurt you. I would demonstrate but I fear your paralyzing touch more.>you could try redirection style fighting, imagine Renshu if he guides your punch away rather than struck you.
>>4877663I think Chi strikes would be acceptable for Ming considering they don't harm anyone.
>>4877659Than adding a piece of iron on the back of the glove might be too cumbersome for a surgery. But a pair of bracer on the wrists on the other hand can be easily remover, thightened or loosened, or even mover up the arm in case she needs to do it at the moment, and and can help a lot with a Jitte, tonfa or nunchaku. Also turns out Jittes are a thing that the marines in One Piece uses, and are a samurai peacekeeper weapon from the edo period, used similarly like a police batton, there is even a style of fighting with it, jittejitsu, it's mainly a defensive weapon foucsed on disarming your opponent and holding him down though, so that's either a plus or a con for Ming, depending on what she wants from it.
>>4877667I had meant to green text the chi strike part as well.Otherwise, I think we should just warn her of the increased importance of her leg health.
>>4877676Also turns out that a segmented staff, or a three section staff, is both too big, and works like a big flail rather than a staff, so nunchunks are better. So here's all the ideas together, let Ming choose the one that she likes best.
>>4877641>>4877663Suggesting Chi strikes, grappling, and various japanese weaponry (because I think only the tonfa is an actual chinese weapon but this is wuxia and not historical China quest so they'll fly.) Writing.
>>4877736Only the Jitte is pure japanese, the other two are okinawan. The Ryuko kingdom was influenced by both the Chinese and the Japanese, because although their people where closer geographically, culturally and ethinacally to Japan, China was the one that puppeted most of the time.
"Well...If not a staff...grappling?" You ask. "You could pin down your opponents and restrain them.""I don't think I'd be strong enough for that." Ming says. "And I think it would go against what you've been teaching me.""What do you mean?" You ask."Well, If I'm grappling then I can't dodge." Ming says. "Which kind of goes against the whole point of your training. I kind of like being mobile.""Ok. Then there are plenty of other options. We can try for tonfas. Those are pretty defensive. If not those, we can try for bracers to defend yourself and use another weapon. Nunchuks are quite fast but can be quite complex and easily hurt you instead of your opponent. Then there's a bit more esoteric kitte. It's like a batton with a segement that juts out near the hilt. It's mostly used to disarm and in some cases used to detain people." You say. "It's a bit of a foreign weapon but I'm sure Renshu would know more about it.""Umm...which one is more portable?" Ming asks."Good question." You say as you think about it. "Well they can all be around the same length side to side. I would say that the nunchuks. The chain or rope in the center allow it to be folded so you can stick it in your bags...err assuming anything else would fit in there." You say. "Tonfas and Kitte can't be stowed away as easily though the Kitte can at least be sheathed like a sword or dagger."Ming thinks about it for a moment. "Hmm...I guess nunchuks would work although technically I'd still be using my hands." She admits."There's always Chi strikes." You suggest. "They're about as nonlethal as they can get. Painless too. But how about we continue the basics and once we get ready to actually train you in combat forms, we can go over it again." You adjust your sitting position a bit. "That being said, I was planning on asking the captain of the guard to see if he'd let me train the city guard. Maybe if that pans out you could come along and join? You might find something you'd like to train in or at least it'd help you decide how you want to proceed.""More training?" Ming asks. "Don't you think you're taking up a bit too much responsibility? I know we have a year and all that but you're already training me, studying in the library, trying to advance which I guess is the same thing, helping the two gators with their weird experiments, trying to make a new style, and something else which makes you disappear for days on end. I think you're starting to think you might be overloading yourself."You're about say something regarding your stubborness but you acknowledge that she might have a point and someone speaks up, "That much huh? Who'd have thought the Exarch's special guests were such busy bees." You and Ming turn around to see a lone wolf approach with a grin."You're Tenzin right?" Ming asks.
"At your service." He says with a mock bow. "Well, only when I'm on duty. As it so happens, I'm not so you'll have to wait a few hours before I'm back at it again." He says. "In either case, someone told me you were looking for me.""But you're not on duty. So why are you here?" You joke."Well I can't say no to newcomers. They might end up forgetting one of our customs. Have to make sure the lessons stick." He grins.>What do you say?>Write in.
Off duty Tenzin. Only image I could find that I liked at the moment.
>>4877932>Well not-Tenzin, I'm slightly embarrased to say that I'm terribly bad at 'going easy' with anything. But as for why I asked about you, it's not for any vital reason, I would simply like to get to know more people here given the length of stay and the dangers of being stuck in the familiar. And again, rather embarrassingly, I only know 4 people and you by name.>Consider this my level best attempt at making friends and please don't expect me to get any better at it.
>>4877932>Well, I don't know if you remember, but it was you that was manning the gate when wr arrived a few months back. I not sure why, I just felt like that you were a good sort of person from that brief moment.>Anyway, I was just at the guardhouse trying to talk with the captain about that idea of mine when the fox secretary explained tge whole town meeting situation, and I just remembered about you. Thought that maybe I should check with an actual guard before I made a fool of myself infront of the mayor and the brotherhood. Not the captain thought, I have experience with being yelled out by one whem I worked as a temporary guard last year.
>>4877953Oh, I whole heartly support this anon.Saying that we only know our companions and a few people at the library itself, and that he is the only one outside we know the name off is the biggest reason.Meanwhile, I'm going to think up something for why the guard training. But first I got to eat.
>>4878001Same here. I'm gonna make lunch. We can try and make friends when I get back.
>>4878001>>4877996I don't actually think we should go for the guard training anymore.Since it occurred to me, during the Fox chat, that they have their systems in place and are probably quite the stratified and organised milita. They live on the top of a mountain, unable to be assailed and their guards are STILL bright eyed and alert, despite possibly years of nothing but guard duty. I don't think we should knock that.If individuals ask for it sure, but our reasoning was probably "the guards looked interested would you like me to officially offer mys ervices"
>>4878008I never liked the guard idea, I wasn't around that moment to contest it. Been writing
>>4878008Ok, the writing I came up with going with is.>Honestly, this idea of mine came to me becuase I've been enjoying teaching Ming, and while training her, I've noticed that quite a few patrols stopped to watch. While most likely it was just boredom, there could be interest in there too. That with my experience as a guard in Taishi, fighting alongside against the raiders, plus a curiosity after the Pig stormed out and what Akar and Dampa said, I tought that perhaps I could help spread the knowledge too. Afterall, I did master tge styles taught at the Jafe Palace. Also wanted to one day expand to teaching meditation, or even teach it to civilian too. But maybe Ming is right, and is too much of a workload, or maybe I should just leave it open as an individual service.>I've never been much of a teacher, or one at all actually, but who knows, bitg father, Oogway and the Exarch spent their life teaching others, and they are definitaly wiser than me. Perhaps training other is something that I should do too. There was an attempt.
>>4878035That sounds like most of our thought process.Use this chance to make friends and learn about the guard's training but I think we should put this plan on hold indefinitely.
>>4878025Whatcha writing anon? Running your own quest or just school stuff?
>>4878040I think he is vocaroo anon, writing his radio novela about the gay rabbit.
>>4878038Can't win everytime.Unfortunate, I wanted Master Tai Lung to open his weekend Tai Chi school.
>>4878052Not the guards. Once we ease off on our shit, we should have some time to open a practice. That could be as simple as just putting a flyer up.
>>4878058Kek, Imagine you are walking around town, and see a flier to come train and meditate in the fields outaide of town. And the teacher is a know mass murderer and wanted criminal.Although most of this people wouldn't really know about us.
>>4878050Renshu swings both ways anon. TL doesn't...that we know of.>>4878052>>4878058Setting up a dojo (ok not dojo but offering lessons) via flyers is a good alternative to training the guards. It fills the same role of teaching people but does offer the opportunity to teach other novices and various skill levels.Training the guards means you work with experienced people but also means that it might go faster. Plus you start out with a student base. Flyers means you need to work up getting students to come join. Both are interesting options, have pros and cons as to how it will go, and have their own flow that bring in plot hooks. It's just a matter of which you want to persue and dedicate your time to.
>>4878073I disagree. Almost everyone will know about us, this is the place of all knowledge in china and we are, or were, massive news which has had 20 years to become legend. But if we plan to meditate and train anyway, we lose nothing by extending the offer to others even if they don't take it.
>>4878083Fliers also help establish our credentials, in that we know what we are doing. After all, a great mechanic who can conjure up mechanical miracles is great as an asset bt if it's all instinctive, they can't really teach someone else can they?
>>4878093Well, we trained our entire lives right? So if we try copying what Shifu and Oogway did it should work. Also as already seen in the quest, Tai Lung learns better when thrown at the deep end.>>4878087Tenzi didn't really seem to mind when we arrived, but he is a chill guy, and the guard were warned before hand. And only around half of the brotherhood was up at arma when we walked around, but who knows how maby of those nerds only care about things that directly affect them.So maybe around 75% should known about our name, which should be enough for anyone that don't know to be warned about before hand.We might end up either with the criminals, stubborns or idiots showing up. Should be perfect for us than
>>4878117it's all about the point of being reliable from others perspectives. I believe we can train them very well by ourselves. And about being warned, the old duck did mention that we should keep our name hidden to avoid reprecussions so that means that there must be SOME resistance to our existence.
>>4878040I'm the Omake guy. Been writing the scriptWhile I'm here, an update. So I realized while writing that I was making something way bigger than just some short with Renshu. I was basically making a fan made audio drama, when I promised a short and sweet thing with me as ol bun buddy Ren, and later a Hien one. I overextended a bit but my god did I think what I was making was cool. I got halfway into writing the actual whole ass script for a prologue. So expect more things after I'm done getting the Renshu thing together because if all goes well, y'all will be eating real damn good

Ok, so in an effort to consolidate things. Are we telling Tenzin about our idea to train the guard? and what is the plan with training? Are we going for guard or flyers or neither? I'll get to writing tomorrow just to give people a chance to discuss.
>>4878261I see no problem telling him.It would make us seen less of a crazy dude who seeks someone at their workplace to ask to be friends.I'm not too sure about training the guards anymore, it might bee too much of a responsability with all the shit we got going on right now, since it would basically be an extra job, and the city and captain would probably expects results. But on the other hands we would stop burning money, and it would be a way to meet more people, and it's not like we are doing the instrospection anymore, so it's not like we would consume all of our time, and teaching could help us come up on how to present our ideas better. So let's see what Tenzin says, maybe the militia could use a few new tricks after all.
>>4878261I think we should ask about the guards current method of training the lead onto the proposed idle chit chat about our ideas and whatnot.
>>4877953>>4877996>>4878035We gotta make friends. Writing.

"Thanks for the courtesy, and sorry for dumping more work on you during your free time." You say as you stand up. "We'll just have to owe you lunch or something next time."Once again Tenzin merely waves his hand and makes a dismissive sound. "Ehh...what's done is done. Come on, we best get inside before the gates close off for the night." He says and the three of you head off to back into the city. By now the streets were calming down once more though despite it becoming dark, the time of day meant there was still several hours before actual 'night' arrived and so many people were still wandering around. Tenzin leads you through the main streets for a while before you all head in to the outskirts of the city. As expected, the buildings slowly become less extravagent and more plain though none seem to be in disrepair. Despite your expectations, this section of the city seems just as well kept and safe as the rest if not simply less ornate. You see several citizens going about their lives as you walk through. A few are sweeping the streets, some are sitting on the steps of their homes chatting with neighbors, others sitting on a table and playing a game of checkers. After a few more minutes, you arrive at a small home at the far edge of the city. The lights are on within but Tenzin walks in without worry. "Guys, I'm home!" Tenzin says, slightly exhausted as he sets his shoes by the door. You and Ming scarcely have time to look around for Tenzin's roommates before a stampede of footsteps come rushing towards you. "Tenzin is home! Brother Tenzin is home!" You hear as 4 wolf pups of various ages come rushing down the stairs and out of the hall. They all rush forward and come to a dead stop when they notice you and Ming."Whoa..." The eldest boy, whom you assume to be around 10 or 12, says in awe. The rest of the children seem to hang around him as they all appraise the two of you. From down the hall, you hear the shout of a young woman. "Tenzin! Is that you? You're late! You better not have been out drinking with your friends!" She shouts. Tenzin chuckles."I would never dream of it, Amala. You know I'm ever frugal with my money!" He calls back. "I only spend my allowance. Everything else goes to you guys!""Well that allowance is giving you some bad habits!" Amala shouts. "You're streak isn't going to last forever! Now get in here and get ready for dinner." She says. You see a young girl, about 15 or 16 years of age, walk out from another room with her cheeks puffed up and hands on her hips. Her expression immedidately drops to shock and surprise before returning to her stern look. "Tenzin, you didn't say we were going to have guests! I didn't have time to prepare enough food!" She says trying to seem stern but her eyes show shame and embarassment. You suspect that her shame had less to do with the ammount of food she made and more of the aforementioned money.
"I can help make more." Ming says politely. "I know a thing or two about stretching a meal out. Let's see what I can do to help." She says. Amala fidgets."No...it's fine. I can make some more food." She says, ears folded back and trying to hide her shame. "It's alright Ama." Tenzin says gently. "Little sister Ming only wants to help." Amala nods and walks back into what you assume is the kitchen and Ming follows suit. Tenzin stretches and looks at the other pups. "And what are you 4 doing? You'll grow roots if you continue to stand there and stare. Get ready for dinner." He says shooing them away. The 3 youngest hurry off but the eldest boy stays behind and follows you and Tenzin as he leads you to a rather cramped living room. It was full of toys and books, various things for children of all ages, and in the center was an old beat up table. "Did you bring your sword?" The young boy asks after casting a single glance at you. Tenzin sits down at the table and crosses his legs. He rubs the back of his neck and pretends to be exhausted."No." He says. "I left it back at work.""What? But you promised you'd teach me how to use it!" The boy shouts."Yeah?" Tenzin asks as he slowly leans down to be face to face with the boy, his face a mixture of shrewdness and smugness. "And I remember a certain someone made a promise of his own then proceeded to break it. If I recall, that was lesson number 1. Now what was that lesson?" He asks. The young man looks away and rubs one foot on the floor."'A sword is a tool and not a toy. And tools should only be in your hand when you're going to use them not before.'" The boy recites."And then what did you do?" Tenzin asks."I wasn't gonna play with it!" The boy says. "Honest!""Right. So then why was there a melon out on the table and my sword in your hands?" He asks. The boy goes quiet and Tenzin flicks his ear. "You're grounded and you know it. Now you'll learn the slow way. With sticks and rods. My blade will stay at work until I know you're ready." The boy growls, crosses his arms and sits down."So who's this guy?" He asks grumpily as the 3 other kids wander back into the living room."This guy? No one in particular." Tenzin says absentmindedly as he unlocks a cabinet and rummages around. "Just Tai Lung." The kids all gasp and for a moment the room goes quiet before exploding in noise."You're Tai Lung?!""Are you a bad man?""I heard you beat everyone up!""Can you punch a mountain in half?!""Are you strong mister?""Are these your spots or do you need a bath?""Can you break this table?""Are you going to eat us?""Is that lady your mom?""Show us some kicks!"
You sit down as the pups run around, not daring to get close but trying to get a good look at you. Tenzin simply sits down next to you, amusement in his face, as he pours you a cup of alcohol before pouring one himself. You continue to be bombarded with questions and you try not to freeze up. You weren't good with kids...at all but they were basically like sprites right? You could deal with those.>What do you say?>Say nothing and just wait for Tenzin to make it stop. You don't want to say anything to scare them.>Tell the kids a story? That tends to make the sprites calm down. You could tell them about how you fought the Triads. That's about as good as you can think without going into war stories.>Tell them you'll show them some moves if there's enough room outside. Maybe you can entertain them with that.>Write in.
>>4879599>Tell the kids a story? That tends to make the sprites calm down. You could tell them about how you fought the Triads. That's about as good as you can think without going into war stories.Triad is good for intrigue. The story on how we fought an evil ancient bat if we want mistery.Or how we punched spirita in a boat (cut out the part we die) for horror.Actually, the boat one is good if we just don't mention how anyone died, it has a good moral of how we confronted ourselves and to not steal shit, I'm going for a censored version of it.
>>4879599>Tell the kids a story? That tends to make the sprites calm down. You could tell them about how you fought the Triads. That's about as good as you can think without going into war stories. This could be fun. Might wanna omit the bloody parts a wee bit or underplay them but it's got everything. Suspense, intrigue, good brawls, a real page turner!
>>4879640No wait, these little guys are Tenzin family aren't they?A story of us fighting against a bunch of evil criminals can help make them look up to their big brother's job as a guard more.
>>4879599>Tell them about how we met BaoIt has a really good message, no violence we need mention, and a good story about respecting Nature and outsiders. Also give Tenzin a look of betrayal, this is unacceptable.

"Uhh...Do you want to hear a story?" You ask awkwardly. The children stop asking their questions and scurry over to sit next to Tenzin. "What kind of story?" The young boy asks suspiciously."It has monsters?" You reply. The young boy drops their suspicion and sits down with the other pups immediately. You shoot Tenzin a glance as he sips his alcohol with a smile on his face. You turn back to face the eager faces of the pups and slowly begin to tale your tale. About traveling alone, about not trusting anyone. How you met Bao and saved her from the mob. How monsters made of wood would steal children. While you're not as skilled at telling stories as Hien, your rather restrained personality making is hard to emote and add that extra layer to your tells, you manage to hold the kid's attention throughout your tale. You continue to tell how you delved deep into the forest to rescue Bao and how the villagers came after you before ending the tale with how she became a priestess of the Great Dragon. All throughout your tale, you stress the importance of respecting nature and strangers. The children all remain quiet and lean on the table to listen better. Once you finished your tale, the kids remain quiet for a moment longer but you can feel their eagerness and urge to ask questions rising to the surface once more. Luckily for you, before they begin their new torrent of questions the door to the living room opens and Ming walks in holding a large pot of stew. Amala comes in soon after with a loaf of fresh bread and bowl of salad. "Alright you guys, make some room and settle down. Dinner is ready." Tenzin says waving them around. The kids whine and scoot about to make room. You all squeeze around the small table and Ming sits next to you. The young boy scrunches his nose. "Salad? I don't want veggies." He says."You have to eat your greens!" A younger girl, around 4 or 5, shouts. "Tenten says so!""I do say so." Tenzin says ruffling the girl's ears. "How are you gonna be a guard if you're all scrawny like that?""I'll make a new secret technique and that'll impress everyone!" The boy counters as he waves his fork around like a weapon."Yeah, well you won't be making any moves if you can't even pick up a blade properly, now eat your greens." Tenzin says and he places an extra helping of salad on the boy's plate. The boy grumbles but Tenzin motions that he was watching and put an end to that arguement. Ming helps serve the stew, a simple dish made of wild mushrooms and potatoes. As simple as it is, you can smell the seasoning and it makes your stomach growl. Tenzin reaches to his side and draws a basic dagger from a holster to cut the bread with it."Tenzin! What'd I tell you about using that thing at the table!" Amala scolds, motioning to the kids with a wooden spoon. Tenzin grimaces and quickly sheathes the knife back into it's holster and clipping it shut.
"Sorry, sorry Ama." He says. "Force of habit." He leans over and grabs the proper bread knife to begin to cut the bread. You feel something tug at your robes and look down to see the boy looking around. "Hey, where are all your weapons?" He asks curiously. "How do you go around fighting without em?""Tseten! Don't be rude!" Amala says. "He's a guest!""I'm just askin'!" Tseten says.>What do you say?>Tell the boy that you don't use weapons. Your body is your weapon.>Say that you don't weild weapons. Small update on the Renshu Omake. I'm now at about the quarter point of writing the script. A bit of a slower go on this one because I kinda used up a good bit of creative drive beforehand but it's still going at a paceAlso it was my birthday today. Today was comfy and good for getting some stuff done and enjoying it. Had a good dinner, had a good time. Life is good for your resident dipshit, and all is how it should be. Will talk to y'all next either at the end of script writing, another writing milestone like halfway, or before recording depending on how much progress I make. See y'all another tims

Just a big ol thick wall of BLOCC. Two C's, thicker than the walls of Alcatraz, Not fun but it passes, eventually. And once it does my brain starts to kinda jolt. Sorry about the no post today. Been cleaing up around the house and getting shit sorted. I forget how much of a mess a simple BBQ can make. I'll make the next post tomorrow. As always during these down times, feel free to ask questions or ruminate on what to do next. I think the big things you want to tackle at the moment are;Setting up Kung Fu lesson. Be with guards or civiliansDealing with the aligatorsWays of AdvancementLearning to keep your spaghetti held so you can hold hands with stripped bun
>>4883645Did you know that when people know they are dead already, they are capable of great feats of strength?Well if we just grab hold of his hand, then start moving, the sheer discomfort of displaying affection will trick our body into maintaining the grip.Or we could use one of my own tricks, focus on how much happier I am to be with my partner over how much other people are looking.
>>4883645There is also mastering chaotic meditation.Learning how to properly write a scientific article by ourselves. And in the future making that new style.Studying more about spirits, chi and the Heishou. I will never stop.
>>4883667For advancement I think the thesis statement of"Active meditation may be applied to kung fu in practice" is a solid advancement plan, so something to be kept in the back pocket.
>>4883678The chaotic meditation is going to beximportant, I know it.Even if we don't apply it to kung fu.Even if it doens't help with the new style.Finding a obscure work, testing, and possibly improving upon it is by itself something that we could use to advance. And even if not, it's just such a nice thing to be able to do, that way we can sleep through important events, while still doing things. Truly revolutionary.
>>4883645Ain't no problem. I've taken a day off myself actually from writing. Been mad chillin, but I started rewatching the original run of Mobile Suit Gundam. Been needing to refresh my brain on it for Hathaways Flash but also as a small gift to myself cuz Gundam nice.

You look at the small pup. "You mean you can't see them?" You ask jokingly. "Guess you're not ready for the secret yet.""What?! Are they hidden? Where are you hiding them?" Tseten asks scurrying around you trying to find something. You chuckle. "There are two weapons which I use, the first is my body which I've trained all my life to use well. I've been trained at the Jade Palace. I know how to fight with all manner of weapons." You say before giving the young boy a grin. "Of course I had to eat more than my share of greens to do so." Tseten pouts at you and huffily walks over to his end of the table to sit down. "And the second, you've been listening to for the past while. My words. If you've ever the chance to use them and use them well, you can find them to be better than any sword. Look how Amala disarmed Tenzin with only a single sentence.""That doesn't count." Tseten says. "Tezin only does what Ama says because she won't feed him if he doesn't." Tenzin chokes on his drink and bangs his hand on the table, something that makes Tseten look proud of himself as if he revealed a great truth of the world."W-well...these days I try to use words as much as it fits. It seems to solve problems will less reprecussions more often than not." You admit sheepishly. "The truth of the matter is that while weapons are formidable objects, it's best to not get into a fight at all.""Yeah but if I'm strong and the best warrior no one will want to mess with me!" Tseten says. You and the other adults look at one another. "No one ever gives Tenzin trouble. I bet he can tell anyone what to do.""That's...not really the way you should look at it." Ming says gently."Ay ay...Is that what you think my job is?" Tenzin sighs, rubbing his temples. "I'm the one who gets yelled at all day..." Tseten grins, again proud of his own logic and reasoning.>What do you say?>Give Tseten the cold hard truth. No matter how much power you amass, no matter how much skill you attain, it will only deflect your problems on to those closest to you. If you cannot be beaten then those around you will as punishment. Strength is not the sole truth of the world and every day you worry that your mistakes will be taken out on your friends and those weaker than you. No matter how much you try, you can't protect everyone. If he wants to seek strength then he needs to learn what weight of responsibility that it comes with.>Tell Tseten that strength is not something that you should lord upon others nor is it a sheild that protects you from everything. And if you managed to actually become the strongest person, you would actually get more trouble, as every warrior would want to test themselves against you.>Not only that, but there are many ways to defeat an opponent stronger than you. Cunning, traps, sheer numbers, magic, all of them can easily defeat another. I know that because I both used and suffered from that.>If you want to become stronger, than you need to know why, how and when, otherwise you are going to end up blinded by pride, or even hurting other for being beneath you. So in my ussual tradition for talking about future quest ideas (implying I'll have the energy to run another after this. I might but there's something to be said about taking breaks between campaigns) Here's a few/updates to what I have in mind. First off...you're probably gonna be a girl. Best girlism demands it aka I don't think I want to write as a male protagonist after TL and want to mix it up. Though in honesty, gender of the MC probably has very little effect other than how npcs react to you and not on abilities and the like. For the Elder Scrolls idea; I'm tempted to have players generate a character based on a series of multiple choices just like the original games but I also had a character in mind which will be spoilered. A Kahjiit Mage Apprentice (for those Chan Ming vibes) who's village was destroyed by an evil mage. She survived the attack as a child by hiding under the bodies of her dead parents. She grew and trained in magic in order to hunt down the man who destroyed her childhood. Her father was a gambler and the remnants of her family is a simple deck of cards that survived the fire, something she guards with her life not only because it's the final remnants of her old life but because she uses it to cast her magics. A quest for revenge and discovery as no one seems to recall such an attack and dad's deck of cards is unlike any regular deck you've seen.MMO game has been moved form a generic fantasy mmo to a more competitive mmo shooter. I reallly liked the GunsxGlory quest and I wanted to give a similar setting a try. Players can choose their own goals be it created the greatest guild, making their own pro team, or simply becoming the best player that isn't tied down by any guild and become a legend in their own right.Shadowrun quest. Standard amnesiac quest. Players can't remember their past and must carve their own path of survival in the 6th world. If that means becoming a runner, corp stooge, or starting up their own gang. This one is less defined and worked on but still holds my interest.Mary sue murder simulator. Dunno beyond "This ain't no place for a hero." and FF14's ShadowBringer's theme song mixed together are the vibe I'm getting. PC doing bad things for heroic reasons to save everyone around them from a sociopathic mary sue whom reality favors. Cosmically unfair, the PC holds a spark of divinity that staves off fate's demand that you bow to the whims of the "Protagonist". Can they win and save everyone? Or will the light of good burn away all that it touches? The least worked on and I'm not sure if I'm comptent enough to pull off the anti hero vibe without slipping into noble bright misunderstood hero.Probably something else that I've mentioned that I no longer think about. I dunno...All of these are heavily rough drafts that I simply think about while not writing up this game so it's not like they take priority over this quest. I just like sharing my bad ideas.
>>4884999This is how you get a martial prodigy with no concept of discipline and restraint.DISCERNING. TASTE.That being said if another pops in and is in support of training, then we may make the suggestion to Tenzin and his sister. Though I feel they may raise some concerns over payment, at which case we laugh at them.>>4885011Hmm, While I appreciate the TES quest, I suppose the uniqueness would be channeling the magic from the cards allowing them to step outside their usual specilisations. Which if we were a mystic, I really think you could pull off a real jaw breaking twist there. But on the flipside, it's hard to do right and the more esoteric you go the less it makes sense.
>>4885011Be careful boss.FemMC attracts the coomers, so be prepared to deal with infinite seuce and prostitute votes. For the MMO quest I would like to folow that idea of being a lore nerd of the game and goinf around solving misteries, maybe try to become ico ic like VaatiVydia was for Dark Souls (even if you don't like or care for the guys content, he is strongly assossieted with the game)
>>4885011I personally made a high magic as fuck sky pirate setting, because I'm addicted to the nostalgia that Skies of Arcadia gave me.
>>4885033I suppose you're right. Such is the life of a QM>>4885023As far as I know, there aren't any restrictions on schools of magic but then again I know TES lore like I know how to speak Mandarin which is to say, not at all.
>>4885023Yeah, if we go the civilian and flier route, we aren't going to ask for payment, and the little guy would definatly jump at the idea.If we train the guards though, i'm asking for a small salary, because it's a service, and they most likely would want results anyway.>>4885033Actually, here's the idea i had for the character for the TES questA independent wizard that's paranoid of the big organized mages organization believing that they are either scams, or ways to control the knowledge of magic from the people. They want to learn how the dwemer automatons work powering themselves using soul gems, believing that is tied to some form of necromancy, and therefore has an interest in studying the Ayleds ruins, since the closeness to their Aether crafting and Daedric necromancy could reveal a clue to how they operate, due to some similarities in cuture (probably not true, but it's a quest hook to throw us into the deep end of TES mysticim and lore). Also descendent from a family of sorcerors, scholars and mystics, with an older sibling that is sucessfull and respected, so proving their theories right is both to prove themselves to both the magical comunity and their own family.Either gender works, originally thought of a then being a Breton, and the sibling the court wizard with ties to Mages guild, but them being Dunmer with a Telvanni sibling, or a Altmer with a older brother that got to be the heir works too.
>>4885051Vote anon, we have a tie.
>>4885057What do you mean "belives they are Scams and ways to control the magic from people"? They are transparently ways to keep the magic from people, least the empires official institutions of the synod and collage of whispers. And yeah, a wage for the guards but I was talking about if you wanted to being it up around the dinner table.>>4885055Well there are not any restrictions perse, but it's like any science. Just because you are good at physics, it doesnt mean you are good at chemistry.Using an artifact or stave to do the work for you is much easier than doing it yourself, which is where the cards could come in.>>4885063Will you lecture child? Or enlighten him.
>>4885076I know right? But everyone in-universe (and quite a lot in real life) tgink that the it helpsxcreates new knowledge.Playing as a conspiracy theorist that is actually right is incredibly fun, since you don't feel bad when wirting the insane paranoid rants.I recomend everyone to try it atleast once.
>>4885093Oh, and what I meant about tge real life is not about education, but players views of the game's institution.Shool, colleges and universities aren't the best, but they atleast actually teach people.
>>4884976To break the stalemate, I switch to this.
>>4885057>>LoreY-yeah. Definitely...hah...
>>4885169https://www.imperial-library.info/Here you go boss, your journey so you can be the Amaranth of the quest.
>>4885185But if lore is too much, we can always be an orc with an axe, braving the world for glory, and maybe power. Can't get simpler than that.
>>4885185Thanks. I'll take a look at it in some down time. But we're gonna lecture so I better get to writing.
"Many people would dismiss your skills and strength as rumors and try to mess with you anyways." You say. "Even if you manage to convince everyone that it's true, then more people would come to pit themselves against you. Not only that but people would try to figure out ways to undermine you. Traps, cunning, sheer numbers...there are many ways to defeat someone who is strong. Believe me, I know from experience." You take a sip of your drink, it was bitter and strong. You wrinkle your nose at the raw taste and set it down. "If you want to become stronger, then you need to know why. Otherwise, your pride will blind you and you'll end up hurting everyone you wanted to protect. After that, it's only a matter of time before it blows up in your face and you're taken down a peg in the worst ways possible." You sip from your soup, "But...if you really want to learn how to fight then listen to Tenzin. We don't tell you not to do things because we don't think you can handle them or because we think less of you. We tell you because we don't want you to suffer the things we went through. It's the duty of those with power to help guide those they teach. So that they don't make the same mistakes we make and so we can push them to be better than we are."Tseten puffs up his cheeks, the winds taken out of his sails and plays with his food quietly. Ming elbows you in the ribs and gives you a somewhat disapproving look. "Tseten, I think it's nice you want to be like Tenzin." She says. "Everyone wants to be stronger but not everyone wants to put in the effort. I think it's pretty mature of you for wanting to practice with him so keep at it. Just remember to listen to what he has to say. Sometimes he might teach you something no one else can."The young boy nods but seems to mull over his soup than listen. The rest of you all eat dinner in peace, with the other children asking you random questions such as where you got your spots, where are Ming's spots, how many baskets of food can you carry, ect. The meal slowly comes to an end and the younger of the kids begin to doze off, causing Amala to gently shoo them to their rooms as she follows to tuck them in. You sit in the living room alone with Ming and Tenzin as you help clear the small table which groans in relief as you remove the weight of the dishes and pots from it. Once the table was cleared, Tenzin sits down and leans against it for support. He stretches a bit and says, "Now that we've gotten all the plesantries out of the way. I guess we should get to the boring bits." He yawns. "What were you talking about back outside the gates?">What do you say?>Tell Tenzin that you want to train the guards.>Tell Tenzin you want to set up some kind of classes for the city to train them just as you train Ming.>Make some more small talk. Ask Tenzin something. (What do you ask?)>Write in.
>>4885287>Small talk [Are they your nephews? Sorry if I was a bit heavy handed.]>Set up classes for the city to train, and we were wondering how guards already train as well as the captains likely reaction to the suggestion of helping the guards.
>>4885011>GunsxGloryI haven't followed that quest in a good long while but I really enjoyed it. Fuck 0phelia amirite?
>>4885287>Well, I've been training my friend over there for some time now, and I wondered if I could help train the city guards too. With the whole town meeting thing, knowing the actual training, and if there is anything I could actually help with would be better, so I could come foward with an actual proposal instead of just an idea. But Ming came foward with a good point, and made me wonder if I should not pick up the responsability of actualing regularly help train the militia, since the city most likely would demand results as a constant job, and instead just leave as a service open for any citizen, maybe even include some meditation together.>Also, are these your sibling? They called you brother Tenzin when you arrived. Sorry for being a bit harsh in lecturing Tseten, but his desire of being the strongest reminded me when I was younger, juat didn't want for him to make the same mistakes.
>>4885425He also called Ming "Sister", so that's probably a title proper.
>>4885411Please do fuck 0phelia anon. She did want to be alongside Wolfgang afterall.I didn't like that stalker bitch, but this joke must always be made
>>4885434They may be orphans actually, would explain tge kinship, the numbers and the age differance. In which case I vote to relate with them really hard.
>>4885439their money issues make me feel so terribly bad for them. Reminds me of my culture in their manners.
>>4885411>>4885434I liked the settings, the characters, and the mechanics of the games but I felt like the QM was a bit to heavy handed in expecting Anons to go for a redemption arc for 0phelia and pushing them for it? I'm not sure but she seemed to irredeemable in my eyes. Doxing and sending somone who's willing to trash and possibly maim you is kind of fucked up and a "lel I'm socially awkward and I just wanted to hang out with you." isn't really enough to sway for a forgiveness. What i'm saying, is that Wolfgang and 0phelia needed to fight a super ancient evil to make it better. Though to be fair to the QM all the characters were intruiging and I can't lie and say I didn't want to know her backstory. Season 2 started out well with a new player character but unfortunately it was cut short. Shame it wasn't it's own fully fledged out thing. I'd love to run a game in the similar vein but I don't think I could make a good as characters.
>>4885425I just reread this, and I used the word actual 5 times.
>>4885582I dropped it when the protagonist switched, and didn't even bother when it came back, since I needed to know what happened. Also it was heading to some tournament arc something? Honestly, I felt the combat is the weakpoint of quests. Manouvering, planning and strategizing is all good, but aiming and rolling dice is dull.Which is something that I like about this quest, when we are combat, we plan things out, try to shake things ups and do unconvencional things, instead of the high of plans being "I threw grenade where you didn't expect" or "someone rolled a crit this mean I'm going to overreact and talk trash".Maybe tge nature of the whole kung fu panda helps alot, because that's a staple of how Po fights, and Jackie chan too I think, so may be a marking of the style itself.
>>4885610I didn't mind it as the QM seemed to want to introduce a new character and fully flesh them out before introducing him into the original quest which I'm a big sucker for crossovers so I didn't mind. Plus the previous "season" ended in a good place so there wasn't much in the way of plot lines left hanging? As far as I could remember. After that there was some kind of tournament that was supposed to happen with both characters teaming up to join it but then the quest died. Combat is difficult for me as well. It's one of the reasons why few of your new abilities have direct combat applications. Barring the fact TL is maxed out in combat stats, giving players an "I win" technique feels like it would take away what little variety combat already has. I'm not sure how I can make it more interesting though adding a dice system would probably make it more variable but in more bad ways than good.
>>4885638The whole speedrunning an rpg in a competition fortnite battle royale threw me off, it all gave a filler feel to the thing, like reading an overly long backstory that in the end wouldn't really matter, since I did give it a shot until the port, and than I stopped caring, specially because the MC didn't give a shit about the world, and we weren't allowed to investigate and immerse.Which was very sad, because that island gameplay was much better than the other combat. If the MMO was that rpg, without the sinking islands bit, and not the SciFi Call of Duty, the quest would have been way better. The whole thing with some quests being timed or urgent, there being a day and night cycle, and that some coul interact with one another, or cause different events, and there being pvp that other players could "steal" your quest makes for a interesting premise, since it gives a sense of life to what is essentialy a game within another game. Also the whole cheater scandal past, and tge MC being forced to play the game by contrinvinces felt counter intuitive, because anons want to remain in character and say fuck no, but at the same time actually ibteract with the quest. Felt like watching a tv show where things happens because they have to.Now enough of me reviewing a dead quest on yours, I sounds pretentious and autiatic enough as is.
>>4885582Did he really punish people for not going along with 0pheilia's crap?Damn that's cold. Definitely not a fan of that at all. But enough talking about another quest not even related to this one. And enough lollygagging for me. Gotta get back to writing again. It slowed to a crawl because I kinda got out of it for a bit but I'm feeling a bit rejuvenated. I wanna get closer to my favorite part of the process, actually making the dang Omake! Voice acting, audio editing, whatever dang panache I wanna put in the dang thing!
>>4885687Not at all from what I recall. From what I remember (and I'll probably reread the threads sometime) he didn't punish the players so much as he simply kept trying to pull back on 0phelia's nonsense. Or rather trying to redeem her in the players eyes. Characters would mention that she's simply awkward and doesn't know how to interact with people. Others would mention she is building her own team to hint that perhaps she wants Wolfgang to join her pro group. Just small nods and nudges to suggest she wasn't as bad as the player base made her out to be but the damage was done. Early players hated her guts (for good reason) and newer ones wanted to befriend her to fuck with older players. I don't want to paint the QM as some kind of bad storyteller. Far from it. He seemed pretty chill last I remember. I just think he went too hard in the beginning with 0phelia's shit and then went on a bit of damage control. In my eyes the damage was done. Her insistance wouldn't have been so irritating if she didn't declare all out war on the PC. From what I read, she was directly responsible for leaking wolfgang's dox and thus everyone and his enemies began hounding him about his past. In that regard it's ok because it pushes players to do things and not hide for the quest. However, it paints the girl in a real bad light. Not too damning but it was bad considering how much the MC liked his privacy and how toxic people treated him when he was rediscovered. What really was the final nail on the coffin in my eyes was how she manipulated Rock (a character who held a grude because of the MC's cheating setting off a chain of events that kind of ruined his gaming career) into attacking the MC's workplace and trashing everything while threatening him with physical violence which in turn had him go to jail for it.So in short, the woman doxed the MC, had his buinsess trashed, and manipulated a man which resulted in his jail time. All for the in universe pretense of having the mc join her team. By the end of the first arc the QM kept trying to have 0phelia talk to wolfgang in an attemp to clear things up or perhaps apologize but players were done with her shit and wanted to have nothing to do with her which is a fair response.tl;dr 0phelia was vilified pretty bad in order to push the MC into action and thus the player base wanted nothing to do with her. QM made great characters but this single mistake backed him into a corner with her and he tried to pull it back to no avail.
>>4885308>>4885425So we're asking about tenzin's relation to the rest of the pack. Are we settling in training the town or guards or just leaving it vague for now?
>>4885716Oooh my bad, guess I jumped the gunAnyways here's some good news. Script is done, and all I need to do is actually create the dang thing. Should go smooth from here on out
>>4885718I think we are explaining our toughts. We are asking him about the guards training to know if there is something that we could help with, and what is the Captain's disposition. It seems Ming made we want to cut back on the guards idea to prefer to just train civilians in our free time at the weekend, unless the militia have a massive flaw that have to be corrected.I'm personally unsure if training the guards will have a negative repercursion like having to meet quotas, eating part of our time, or making studying harder.Because although the extra income would be nice, sacrificing progress in learning and advancing for a pet project is not worth it.
>>4885718So it would be vague for now I guess.>>4885727Hype
>>4873713I have been out of this quest for a long time so I am out of the loop, but I need to know this one thing, did Tai Lung fuck the bunny or the snow-leopard
>>4885866Bunny's older brother Renshu
>>4885866Fucked no one, but he is in a gay relationship with the bunny's brother. For now
>>4886007>>4886245The disappointment I feel in you all can't be put adequately into words.
>>4886255Shoulda been here Hoss.
>>4886255I tried to stop the gay, but I stood alone.Alone against the QM and harem seeking anons. But my spirit will never be crushed. There is still time to stop this relationship, because both sides are confused. When Renshu comes back from his self-discovery understanding that he was throwing a child tantrum and forced anons to enter a relationship with him due to emotional blackmail, we can move back to being oath brothers and best friends
>>4886277>Harem seeking QM and anonsFTFYAnd yeah, I'm content for this to return to Oathbrothers, but I'm not going to sabotage the opportunity. This is prime improvement time, in an emotional sense.
>>4886287KekBut me neither, sabotaging the inetractions between characthers is gayer than the gay relationship.I saw many quest were people devided to be assholes to characthers that could rival their waifu, destroying conversations, while other would protect absoultly shit characters from any criticism and ignore the bad shit they do because they are hot, or center the whole quest around waifus paralizing the plot.I'm looking at you Wong, you shit qm, everything you do is trash, and you can't even bother to finish it. You are exactly like the leftist that you stop tge quest to rant about.
>>4886300Actually, all of the QMs of the biggest quest on the site, or any of the otger quest sites too, are like that.Only some of the small ones and 2nd primarch quest escape being trash and aren't a waste of time, although Malal's have to deal with a bunch of trolls and autistic debates between every update.[/spoilers]
Fuck, I went into another tangent judging other quests for no reason.I really need to stop doing that.
>>4886312I just like to imagine such outburts like old uncle andy on his rocking chair when he has been nursing a vodka for an hour.Rocking back and forth, screaming about how Questdrone will come back and these shit tidings shall not infect the good memories and blah blah blah.Still, lots of good memes come from things like this.
>>4886315And now you made me remember the old quests that died, and maybe the QMs too.Rip Crusty Jones, QuestDrone and GraveQm.Death Anong the Stars and Hive Queen quest may have birthed my dislike for POV switch, but they were a really good time. And the only flaw of Homeless Mutant Quest is that it died, right after a revelation and cliffhanger. And we never got phasing.
Man waifu wars sure get scary. Let me swallow my fear of wanting to never running another quest again and I'll get to writting...that and breakfast. I wanna finish my eggs.
>>4886454>I wanna to finish my eggsMURDER! MURDER! INFANTICIDE!
>>4886454Be brave boss, don't let the waifu ptsd stop your dreams.
>>4886467It's ok, they weren't fertilized. Hopefully.
>>4886454Sow the wind, reap the whirlwind, filthy haremist.
>>4886475There's a rabbit based pun right there but I can't think of one. But if it irks you that much, we'll have TL remain monogamous and stick with Renshu. No more harem ideas. Side note, I'm looking forward should the crew every visit Ming's home and then be awestruck and confused over seeing an actual loving family.
>>4886482What is this black magic? Functional families? But where does the murder and violence fit in?And I'm just joshin'. Never let the memes die.
>>4886503No where...unless you count killer dad jokes.
You watch the rest of the children head to bed before you face Tenzin and take another sip of the alcohol, this time the flavor no longer feels as raw and a light fuzz comes over you. "I'm sorry for being heavy handed with Tseten." You start. "I just saw a bit too much of my younger self in him...and we all know how that went. I just didn't want him to make the same mistakes as I did in the past."Tenzin pours himself some juice rather than another shot of alcohol. "It's probably for the best." He admits after drinking. "If I had told him the same thing, he'd have brushed it off. We're too familiar with each other. Make no mistake, he'll be back to his old self by tomorrow and probably looking for something to whack with a stick. Hopefully, some of what you said sticks."You nod and nurse your drink for a moment. "Are they your siblings? Nephews?" You ask.Tenzin waves his hand noncomittally. "Might as well be given all I've done for the pups." He says. "Honestly, I just gave them a bite to eat and next thing I know they're living in my house. You give the kids an inch and they take a mile." He says with false irritation though his eyes twinkle with affection. "They've been with me for years. Don't think I can remember what it was like to have some peace and quiet." He grins."So you adopted them?" Ming asks as she returns from putting the dishes away. She pours herself some water and takes a seat next to you."Ehhh...more like the other way around." Tenzin says. "In either case, they've nested up in the biggest room in my house, eat all my favorite foods before I have a chance to take a bite, and somehow manage to clean my clothes without burning the house down.""Where are their parents?" Ming asks."I dunno." Tenzin admits. "They don't really talk about it and the more I thought about it the less I cared. They're here now and we're happy. I suppose that's all that matters, lack of sleep be damned. You'd be surprised how much of early risers the pups can be. Guess it comes with the fact they can nap anytime they want." Tenzin tugs at his ear absentmindedly, a result of the alcohol setting in and running out of things to say. "So anyways, that's how I got 5 kids without giving birth. I'm a walking miracle. So, what did you want to talk about?""Well, I've been training my friend over there for some time now, and I wondered if I could help train the city guards too. With the town meeting coming up, I was wondering if should propose the idea. I was hoping that you might be able to help me form a proposal. Though now I'm wondering if I should simply set up some kind of weekend thing where I train anyone who is interested." You say."Well...I'm not really sure how I could help with that." Tenzin admits. "I can try and answer any questions you have but I can't really pull any strings or the like. I'm just a guard."
>What do you ask Tenzin?>Ask about the captain. Would he even be open to the idea?>Ask about the guards. Does he think that they would need the help?>Ask if it's even allowed to open a school of your own. Are there any laws that would prevent you from doing so?>Write in.
>>4886606>So, does the city guards have a standard training? Any big problems in the city that it haven't been able to deal with? I doubt that you would have to worried about bandits and raiders, but maybe organized crime, or agile thiefs?>Do the library have a monopoly on teaching? I haven't seen any schools, but I also haven't went looking for them. Would I need a permit or something, even if I offered to train people outaide the city walls?>You don't need to pull any strings, just knowledge is enough. And don't disregard yourself as just a guard, you would be surprised how far a vote of confidence goes. Or how valuable things we think are mundane are.If we opened the training, we would probably do it near the lake where we train, and we already know that there are no problems with people leaving, as long as they return to the curfew.
>>4886635I'll support that.
>>4886635>>4886787Taking this then making lunch. Writing.
"So, does the city guards have a standard training? Any big problems in the city that it haven't been able to deal with? I doubt that you would have to worried about bandits and raiders, but maybe organized crime, or agile theives?" You ask. Tenzin takes a drink of his juice."Can't tell you that. Guard buisness only." He says. "I can tell you is that the guard has daily drills. That's not a big secret. If you're going to suggest teaching a class for the guards then you'll need to show that you know what you're talking about and that you can produce results. The city isn't going to hire you if you're not going to provide anything.""Well...does the library have a monopoly on teaching? I haven't seen any schools, but I also haven't went looking for them. Would I need a permit or something, even if I offered to train people outside the city walls?""I doubt anyone would bother you if you held lessons outside of the city walls. Not unless you plan to build a building or take over an existing one for your lessons." Tenzin says, "As long as you're not causing trouble for everyone then no one is going to really give you any flack about it. As for schools, why build one when you have an entire building dedicated to learning? Most people go there. There's a few people within the higher levels of the order that teach lessons everyday there for kids and teens. Some adults go but it's not what you'd consider mandatory. Those that don't go tend to be taught by their parents.""I just don't wish to cause trouble." You say. "Things tend to go...awry when I do things without planning." You admit."We've never had to enforce any permit laws for activities outside the walls." Tenzin says. "Like I said, unless it starts to cause issues within the city or among your own group then there really isn't an issue. I suppose it will come into play if you start to get a sizable group of students." He says thinking a bit. "But that would be something we'd have to tackle on a case by case basis.""Then would I need to anounce my intentions during the meeting next week?" You ask."Not really. It'd be more a curtousy thing if anything. You're not breaking any laws by hosting a self defense class." Tenzin says. "Though if you do announce it during the meeting, I guess it would be some publicity.""What would the captain think?"
"I'd think he'd disapprove on the grounds that some people might take your lessons the wrong way." Tenzins explains. "Vigilantism isn't allowed and when some people think they can get away with something they'll probably try it. Some people will try and bring about their own justice and the like. Can't just teach a person to punch and then not expect them to not use it when they're slighted. But like I said, teaching self defense classes isn't illegal so the Captain has no grounds to tell you no.""Right...thanks." You say taking his words into account. As you think on what Tenzin has told you, you hear footsteps make their way towards you. The youngest girl of the pups wanders in and flops on Tenzin's knee before promptly falling asleep again."Ay...when did I become your bed?" He says gently and picks her up. "Alright. Let's get you back into your room proper before the rest of the house decides to follow suit." He says. You and Ming decide to call it a night as well and with a few quiet goodbyes, you both go back to your own dorms to get some sleep.>What is your plan for the following week?>Write in.
>>4886925Ok, list of things we need or could do.>Go to that meeting and announce that we will begin self defense and meditions classes near that lake, for free. Maybe make a few fliers too. Should it be together with Ming, or leave it for weekends?>Check how the whole advancement thing is going.>Train memory retation for the chaotic meditation, use Ming's advice>Maybe meditate to meet Shenlong, Bao and OogwayAnything else?
>>4886925>Train memory retation for the chaotic meditation, use Ming's advice>Maybe meditate to meet Shenlong, Bao and OogwayI want to see rabbit waifu/husbando again. Time flies slower in the spirit world or something right? I wonder what they've been up to.
>>4886936I think that the meeting is the priority right now, the next one would be in a mo th, or four updates, so if we try the training at all, it's best to make sure everything foes smoothly.
>>4886925>Organised fliers, Don't bother with announcementsI admit, I'm just uncomfortable announcing it to the city at large. If the rest of you are fine with it, so be it.>Memory retention.>Say hello to Shenlong and Bao again.
>>4886942Just the fliers are ok with me, I just tought that maybe going to the meeting to try and clear up any misconceptions before we started would be a good idea.
>>4886939Otherway around anon. Time flies faster in the spirit realm than in real life. Meaning Bao is several hundred years older now and wiser. No wonder she'd becoming mom.
>>4886951I mean sure, but even in fiction land I cannot shake the anxiety of social speaking.
>>4886957Wait a minute, she only spends the mid-day in the spirit realm. Doesn't she?
>>4886957MILF BUNNY?
>>4886964Cat.
>>4886961Roughly? I don't have a set schedule but she does preside over major ceremonies and the like. You spent a few decades in the spirit realm if I recall and that was roughly 3-4 days of you being dead. Bao's been in there for about a year and some months. That's definitely more than a handful of centuries even if you wanted to fiddle with numbers and only count the midday she spend there every day. Bao is old now. Not in terms of looks. She doesn't age, she doesn't die but she's old now anons. Not to mention her sense of time isn't in big of flux as the dead or the spirits. She's still aware of regular passage of time due to her unusual nature so she's felt every day of every year she spends in there or at least she knows how fast time is going compared to the mortal world. It's not what one would consider to be very pleasant. >>4886964Bao is a cat, my guy.
>>4886958That is both relatable and understandable anon. Like I said, I'm fine with whatever.>>4886964MILF cat, and first girl too.>>4886961I think she is in a state where she is both in the spirit realm and the real world since she is a link between them. The important quetaion is what tge fuck happened to the last one for the shrine to become abandoned while still having a family with prietsly traditions. Did the wars of unificatiob raze the place? It would explain how the major temple of deity would be near a village of paranoid people instead of nearby a massive city.
>>4886974>>4886976I'm forgetting who's who. Ming was the alchemist cat, and who is Bao again?
>>4886974. . . Oh . . I suddenly feel immensely guilty.>>4886982She's the person we failed to save during the small town, first person we "helped". She became shenlongs priest.
>>4886988Now I remember her. The other waifu.>>4886974Oh, damn, fuck we need to hug her.We should set up a proper schedule. Fighting, training, meditation for 30-60 minutes a day to pay the spirits a visit.
>>4886982The one from the first village we met, that had the foreat spirits and kidnapped children. They called her a witch and were trying to lynch her, but we majorly fucked up by trusting neither side.Xin is the bunny assassin.Ming is the alchemist that has magic potential, and we are also training so she can fight. The raider learder is the snow leopard, they are in the capital now, hopefully neither tortured or dead.Dayou was the dyke ship captain wolf.Tigress is our adopted sister that hates us.Mei Ling is the new furious five member, replacement to tigress while she is on a spiritual journey. An Bo is a fox we helped elope.Akar or Dampa is the crocodile twin, I forgot which is which.I think that's all the girls so far.And the boy is Renshu, the half-tiger bunny that is the brother of Xin. He is also our oath-brother and very temporary partner.
>>4886995Don't worry anon, we promised her that we would keep her company forever if we didn't manage to find a way to alleviate her loneliness.
>>4886995>Oh, damn, fuck we need to hug her.Oh you do but TL isn't really aware of that. He knows of the feeling of losing track of time while in the spirit realm but he doesn't know that Bao can still tell mortal time. Not to mention he also doesn't know that Bao is ok with what happened to her simply because she had a lot of time to think about it and get used to the idea.>>4887005>Don't worry anon, we promised her that we would keep her company forever if we didn't manage to find a way to alleviate her loneliness. In a horrible sense of irony and the reccuring theme of shit happening by happen stance and anon's votes. The fact she can tell both kinds of time is something that would be very alienating to her and TL which is the exact opposite of the buns which they only have TL with whom to relate to. It's all very weird. But you did promise that when you died, or ascended, you'd spend your time in the spirit realm with her and the others if you could bring them along. I have no doubt that just like you hyper focused on fixing shit with the buns, you'd do the same with bridging the gap between ascended mortal and demi god. If I was a crueler QM, Bao would become more distant and alien as time passed simply beacause of her age and slowly disconnecting with her own mortality. Tons of stuff to think about, mostly on my end for epilouges at the end of this quest. Namely harem ending. Take that anons!
On more boring real life news, I gotta get ready to pick up someone from the airport in a few hours so I'll leave you guys to organize stuff for tomorrow's write in.
>>4887019are we still gonna mating press Xin?
>>4887017She probably would become more distant, which is fair.Alien? I dunno about that. Given the passage of time, her bouts of insanity and depression come faster andleave quicker than can be counted.Besides, shenlong is well adjusted, it all comes with time.
>>4887027Up to anons. Xin did say dating their brother was a package deal...in more ways than one. Maybe Stripes is also willing to share...Is Double bunny route a new sect?
>>4887028I could see either way being argued but like I said, not something I'm gonna write in. She's already said she doesn't blame you and is ok with what happened.
>>4887030is Xin's brother cute at least? i'd be all for it.
>>4887038But how can she forgive us If we continue to hold ourselves accountable?
>>4887030>>4887017Do not. No harem or multiple relationships allowed.I'm not afraid to use scorched earth if nescessary.
>>4887041He is more male handsome than female cute, he is a half-tiger muscular guy.
>>4887047I'm not really sure where that description came to be honest. I mean he's muscular but he's been described as looking thin because of his clothing. I dunno, here's the picture I used for his first apperance. It's probably because the closest analogue is the rabbit from TMNT?
>>4887047Although, the image you used for shenlong's painting was pretty good. It was the same rabbit right?
And here was a refrence I used for both rabbit's clothing because it had the same character but I'm blending like 5 different kinds of art styles minimum so I get confused myself.
>>4887047I don't see that as a problem.>ASS IS ASS!
>>4887059Usagi is bot from TMNT, but he frequently does crossovers.I don't know, I just read tge wikipedia blurb about that.>>4887063Yeah, that's the guy. Someone suggested him to use for Xin back then, and I just decided to use that after photoahopping a bit, since you couldn't find an image of a stripped rabbit without a suit or an apron. And that's why I saw his a strong, that rabbit is supposed to be ripped or something, or atleast way more masculine than Xin.
>>4887045So...anon. Mind running me by that first girlism thing again?>>4887074You're right on that point. Xin at this point is an enigma and half the fun of writing them is the fact they mess with TL and other people using that to an advantage.
>>4887071Well, he does have one of those japanese male prostitutes as one of the spirits that follow him around. However traps are gay. So no thank, bro.>>4887068I feel validated in seeing Renshu as manlier than Xin now.But I think I remember why the idea he was muscular came from, someone posted an image of a wolf saying that's how they viewd Renshu as, but as a tiger, and I think it's been stuck in my head.I will go to the archives and try to find it.
>>4887079Yeah I vaugely recall that myself.
>>4887079I mean when Xin and Renshu went to kick eachothers ass, Renshu had a pick for reference that had abbs so pronounced you could break a house off of them.
>>4887079>something something domming a man is 200% more straight meme
>>4887086Right, which surprised you because his clothes make him appear a lot less well built than he really is. So I guess it's more of a lean kind of muscle than TL's bulk? Listen, I failed my college anatomy courses and it's showing.
>>4887078The First Girl must win, for that is their right. However I'm willing to compromise with the Reformists and go with Ming, since she was the first to flirt with us, therefore inducting her as a first girl too. This compromised is brought for against the godless members of the Big Gay Alliance
>>4887092What if I told you the first girl...was a child? Not Tigress or Viper but one of the kids you rescued along with Luo? Are you willing to bear that responsibility anon?
>>4887096They must have actual screen time and interaction boss, it's in the holy book of waifu, furry edition.Otherwise a non-existant background character could be retroactivally created to be called a First Girl, and we akready purged the heretics that believed that along time ago.
>>4887096>>4887101who is first girl? Bao?
>>4887106She is.>>4887092I'm afraid for you, Ming has already been taken. If Renshu fails, as it may, the wars may shift and their tides moving. Celebacy may claim us yet.
>>4887106I think so, but I'm not rereading everything again to keep a meme consistent.>>4887115Dayiu has show interest, but hasn't actually made her move. The B.G.A. won't win against those that have faith.Anyway, found the wolf, and it's also not as strong as I remember. Also the japanese gay prostitutes were called taikomochi if they are for the higher classes, or otoko geisha if they are commoners.
>>4887101But you did interact with them. You fed them. Is it my fault that in your blind arrogance you chose to ignore the tenants of your faith and thus proving how weak willed your cult is? There's something to be said about having to bend your convictions to win. Perhaps they weren't as good as you thought in the first place. Or I could just be memeing. Either way, the buns will love the big guy. Be it familial or intimate love and I think that's nice for all three of them.So what's the plan before we're all derailed with waifu memes? We're gonna visit the spirit realm and practice memory retention?
>>4887130That's an awesome image.
>>4887130She did make her move though, just not the PHYSICAL move. Also glad to see my image influenced others.>>4887134Memory retention and spirit realm visit. Then put up flyers, organise it for one of the week days. Maybe emphasis discipline.
>>4887134So she is to be brought before the holy see, and be trained and ordeinesxto be the next in line to the First Girl, as is custom and her right as the next Fivine Chosen. If only we knew their appeareance and name, that would be an easier task. That seems to be the plan, but also putting up some fliers up that we are teaching kung fu and phylosophy by the lake.
>>4886999>Ming is the alchemist that has magic potential, and we are also training so she can fight.when I was in the quest I was pulling for our boy to have something blossom with Ming, but seeing as you all went for Xin's gay brother, that dream is dead. Like man how did that even happen
>>4887148I still don't see how the gay brother is a deal breaker.>>4887134I'm far behind in the quest. We made oaths?
>>4887148When EXACTLY did you leave, and I'll fill you in.But it mostly happened due to falling in ass backwards to basically being soulmates.Like, it isn't even funny, we just kept accidentally strengthening our bond until it reaches a point we are now basically able to hold entire conversations in our heads while with the others we just know their locations. Then Renshu plucked up his courage and asked us out, we said No because [INTENSE PANIC AND CONFUSION] and then we've gotten to the point of saying "Lets give it a shot"
>>4887142Like Luo said, it's an awesome image. It could make for a good villain to fight in the future, a monk of ultra violence, like someone that Sangpo is so afraid of, a person that achieved inner peace by going I like violence and I have no remorse, while still keeping his emotions.>>4887148You weren't here. One man can't win against the current alone. But he can fight until the end however. Also the Dayiu said she liked her, and other anons think that means Ming belong to her now.
>>4887152Yeah, we saved Renshu from actual hell on the condition that if he was still a sinner when he died then we would share his fate as well as gave Xin their emotions back, so he offered a blood bond which we accepted. Then we fought together some more, Spent some time living a peaceful life with our friends, bested an army together, fought with and against the five together, and then we went on a vision quest in his head after we put him in an accidental coma.
>>4887156I mean come on, Cruising in on Daiyu like that would be rude, given what we know and her own limited time. And yeah, the picture was intended for an evil werewolf priest for a game I was apart of. Never got used, sadly.
>>4887155More like emotionally blackmailled us, and we are too much of a pussy (heh) to say no.Even I was, until the First Girl filled my soul with courage, and I attempted to hold the quest hostage.>>4887152Ok, basically we did a blood ritual with a oath saying we always help him and xin, even in other lives, than we saved him from hell by making a deal with the Judge King, and experiencing part of his sentences (Renshu has 7 years to clean up his act, otherwise he is done for, and so are we), and than we went to his dreams and helped him achieve part of inner peace because he couldn't do it alone.Basically, Remshu wanted somthing he alreaxy has, and threw a tamtrum until we said yes. Also Xin tried to shame us into agreeing to it. Honestly, this realtionship feels abusive towards boths sides, one is dependent, and the other is trapped.
>>4887164How can we cruise on Dayiu, if she is the one with a ship?Ming passed up the opportunity to stay in the alchemist shop, in the ship or with the five to stay with us, she is faithful to the big white cat.
>>4887161I mean at that point we gotta fuck the guy>>4887168I see I have A WHOLE LOT to catch up on. The shaming could possibly be counter balance with a lot of I.O.U.'s.
>>4887168Not emotional blackmail, unless "He's being mopey and not acting on it" is blackmail.I disagree on the shaming, since their focus was more on the "You told him YOU DIDN'T KNOW?!" rather than a clean rejection or acceptance.I do agree on the tantrum part though. We explained it too him once, we explained it too him a thousand times, We're basically closer than any other living thing can be at this moment in time. He may get over it in time.Though I do have to ask. What's the plan for dealing with the fact his attraction is Edo Period japan tier. Gonna go with more of the "Attracted to romance" tactic?>>4887174We passed up the chance for Takashi, it's not like moving on with your travels means you don't like what you leave behind, temprorarily. And she gave Ming her dad's compass man, come on. You know what that means.Speaking off, we need to send some letters to Guang and his bea>>4887179Yeah, you have a fair bit to trawl through.
>>4887179No man, We could have just been bro's for life, blood brothers, and gone for ming. But seeing the QM and anons have a gay boner for this guy, that option is dead sadly. man it really does suck, I liked Ming they could have had something together, but oh well, the bloodline ends with Tai Lung it seems.
>>4887183>the only solution>is harem
>>4887168Dis you leave before or after we died, actually, because we physically died once, and methaphoracly two more times, dirat we went to Eureka and met Oogway, Bao and Shenlong again, sexond tines trying to save Renshu, third recuperating our inner peace. We lost our inner peace when we went to hell, but we gained it back on our own afterwards, but we stayed in a coma for around a week.We only really are still going to the polls out of symbolic reasons, and sheer stuborness.>>4887174She also is goi g to leave the Library, a heaven for hell, to travel more with us too. Really loyal cat that one, has the soul of a dog.
>>4887183Don't be so down with yourself.Besides, spaghetti dropping extraordinaire was never going to be making any first moves that didn't end in tragedy. That being said, I never expected TL's legacy to be a bloodline.
>>4887190I would have even been fine with Xin, they had chemistry, but no Tai Lung gets buff bother instead, what a waste.>>4887194desu I did, I figured he and Ming would eventually have romance happen and then in the epilogue have a kid or something, to see it turn gay, is a real let down for me.
All memes aside, I played the game straight (err...no pun intended), memes aside, poking the bear of the waifu wars aside. I wrote the characters as I thought they would react. Given that none of the three are experienced in this shit, it went surprisingly well. The end was rather messy, less blackmailing and more of QM and players are getting tired of faffing around with this shit so let's just end it. I put it to one last vote and that's how it ended. Not with a bang but with a whimper.>>4887183I gave players an abundance of chances to hang out with Ming and bond with her. None of them were taken be it directly writing it as an option or simply giving anons free time to spend it as they wished. All I can say is I'm sorry anon.
>>4887183Just don't leave, it xan still be salvaged. There's me, green anon jumps the fence all tge time, and a mysterious third voter whoose whims are magical and appears when there are ties. With you, we are strong enough to defeat the bunnyfags.
>>4887199Well sorry to let you down anon. All we can really say there, but if you ain't there to vote, you don't really get a say.Still for what it's worth, it wasn't forced nor out of nowhere and, much as a placation it may seem, it may not turn out well and we can shift back to brothers. Just temporary residents of alabama sorta brothers.>>4887201You are very desperate if you are banking on the trap option, Firstgirlist.
>>4887199>what a waste.I see it as an opportunity for a hot threesome.
>>4887182The man literraly begged for us to not say knowz saying he would lose his strength to life. That's emotional blackmail 101.I still think that accepting it was the worst move, Renshu is dependant and lost, he need to sort his life, not a realationship. That's why I'm hoping he conea back understanding that what he did was a fuck up.
>>4887201frankly, I don't see the point, I was out of it for a while and was excited to get back into it, but, seeing the direction people have gone and seemingly overall want to go, I will take a pass. I would just be unhappy when the gay shit keep winning and I just don't want to deal with that>>4887200>I gave players an abundance of chances to hang out with Ming and bond with her. None of them were taken be it directly writing it as an option or simply giving anons free time to spend it as they wished. All I can say is I'm sorry anon. What a waste, I genuinely mean that, what a damn waste, but hey, if anons, fucked around for so long and wouldn't do anything with it then oh well, not your fault. I am just genuinely unhappy that things turned out like this.still, I am happy to see that this quest is still kicking even if it has become something I want to part of keep on trucking Luo, even if your anons, are stupid enough to have fucked up with Ming AND Xin (I mean fucking really people)
>>4887208Xan was suposed to be can, not xin.I'm a phoneposter, a willing phoneposter that uses it over the PC that I have right besides me.I don't know why I put myself though this suffering.
>>4887209DEGENERATE HAREMIST!love these fucking memes.>>4887214Maybe it's Bias colouring me, but I distinctly remember "I don't want to know, either would be their own sort of pain, just leave it be.". . Hmm, point taken.
>>4887214>Renshu is dependant and lost, he need to sort his life, not a realationship.Maybe Renshu isn't really someone who can help himself without a little help from others?
Anyway, I think that's enough shitposting for today. We've got our plan of action, lets get through with it.>>4887225Aid does not naturally correspond to a relationship.
>>4887225>Maybe Renshu isn't really someone who can help himself without a little help from others?and getting into a gay relationship (that Tai Lung might not have even wanted) is going to help that?
>>4887218Well I'm sorry to see you go anon and sorry that the quest didn't turn out how you liked. If it means anything I'm genuinely happy that you found something you enjoyed about the quest before this and I hope you find another quest that entertains you. I appreciate the fact you took the time to try and catch up even if it ended up letting you down. Thanks for the encouragement as well.
>>4887200Ok boss, that's a lie, everytime we sepnd with Renshu was alone, everytime we went with Ming, there was someone else. Not only that, everytime we went to hang outnwith Xin, guess who was with them? Also, when we asked to bring the waifu dillema ro an end, it wqs you that decided we had feeling toward Renshu, even when we anwsered who we tought was a good partner, we gave a list of traits, and Xin said that it was Renshu, so it's not all our fault. Also we spent all the time in Taishi with Xin saying that she was our wife.I feel betrayed now, like a friend insulted the teacher and than pointed at me.>>4887218Anywayz there was a reason we prioritezed helping Renshu, simply put, he had a bunch of problems that we needed to help. He was filled with self hatred, he had a bloodlust problem, and now we had a time limit to deal with.
>>4887223I don't know who said that, I don't remember saying it, was it Luo?Also yes, these memes are great, Waifu Holy Wars wqs the best unnintentional creation in all of qst history.>>4887235Waifu wars are a horrible thing, it eats our soul, and grinds man to salt.
>>4887239>Anywayz there was a reason we prioritezed helping Renshu, simply put, he had a bunch of problems that we needed to help. He was filled with self-hatred, he had a bloodlust problem, and now we had a time limit to deal with.not that I plan to stay or expect to be heard over the pro-Renshu faction, but. getting into a relationship with him is a very bad idea, because of what you guys have helped him through, the "love" he is feeling could just be the bond that was formed in helping him overcome his demons as opposed to the real deal, Especially given Tai Lung, isn't into it, and chat feels guilted into it, that shit will not last, and it is unhealthy. I see it ending badly with him or both hurt. should have let him down easy, and gone the forever blood brothers route. but as I have said rather than try and force the quest to change course back to Xin or Ming which (and please correct me if I am wrong) most of you don't want I am gonna leave and not force drama
>>4887248> the "love" he is feeling could just be the bond that was formed in helping him overcome his demons as opposed to the real dealyou make a good point. Perhaps his love is only extreme familial affection and gratitude confused with love? Does he even understand what love is?Perhaps what he needs is more time to mellow out his feels. If the "love" he feels dissipates, all is cool. If it stays, then it's either super infatuation or genuine.God damn you assholes. Making we want to read all the previous threads to better understand the depth of this rabbit hole (giggity).
>>4887239But I'm not angry with you boss, I'm way too invested to leave.Althoug I completly understand anon, I stop reading archives of a bunch of quests when the gay or harem shit started, or even worse, the NTR.Although first time I've seen that it's actually gay, and not lesbian or a trap, so Tai Lung quest has broken a record.>>4887248That was what I said first time he proposed, and than Xin screamed at us for two paragraphs for daring to doubt his emotions. When themselves don't know shit about it.>>4887263He himself still doesn't know, that's reason that he left with Xin for a small journey of self discovery. You two just need to reac thread 11 and 12 to know the argumments. The anon doubting Renshu will be me.
>>4887263Wait, why are you feeding He Ling a banana? Do bananas have Chi? Is Chi potassium?
>>4887274He Ling amgry boy in need of froots. without froots, He Ling becomes Amgry Ling.>and than Xin screamed at us for two paragraphs for daring to doubt his emotions. When themselves don't know shit about it.Xin also should take into the fact that Lung was a kissless virgin for several decades.....Is Tai Lung still a kissless virgin? Is he going to become a supreme wizard?
>>4887248By the way, agter we spend 4 updates bumrushing introspection, whule ignoring everything else, it was decided that Tai Lunf dinds Renshu cute, so he may be into that. But we also didn't even bother asking ourself if we felt tge same attractions for females, because grandpa duck pushed us to have a open mind and obly ask ourselves in relation towards Renshu, and the cute was oblyblike he nibvled his nose.So no idea of Tai Lung sexuality. >>4887278Still kissless virgin, so far he cuddle with Renshu while crying, saw the sunrise, and had a massage that Renshu learned while he had sex in Japan. By the way, Renshu fucjed a lot of people in Japan, literally and figurativaly. The dice gods were right, we should have stayed on the path of enligthment and kept waifus as memes.
>>4887271Other than final decision, it was all open game. Then it began to drag the story down and I made an executive decision based on autistic logic. Logic being how close the two were and all the shit that happened between the two. Any previous mentions of the two getting together were not hints or allusions. Simply nods to the amusing coincidence of the two getting together. Case in point, Xin's mention of how you guys description of your perfect partner matching Renshu perfectly (which I still maintain it did. It also matched Bao as a few anons mentioned but at that point Xin Lan barely knew the woman so it wouldn't have been the first thing to reach their mind.)>and than Xin screamed at us for two paragraphs for daring to doubt his emotions. When themselves don't know shit about it.They absolutely don't. A fact you could have easily thrown back at their face. They were heated and angry. Partly because their only other family is hurting and partly because it was their suggestion that caused it. The bun is mad and like mad people do, they tend to deflect their problems onto others rather than realize they were the ones who caused it.All I'm gonna say is that I never pushed the romance in any direction until I was forced to for the good of the quest. All I ask is that you believe that. It was a fun time until it wasn't and I had to make a decision and I apologize for the mess it became. That's my failings and I shouldn't be pointing fingers to anyone other than myself.>Waifu wars are a horrible thing, it eats our soul, and grinds man to salt.It really is anon. I guess war never changes.
>>4887293>Case in point, Xin's mention of how you guys description of your perfect partner matching Renshu perfectlyWell now I'm confused, but this confirms it for me. The only thing stopping Lung from banging Renshu is the extra peen. Go for gay homie.Did Renshu really go on a bunny fuckery spree in Japan? What an absolute mad lad.
>>4887302Yeah but less of him being a Chad and more of him simply being boozed out of his mind and clumsily trying to cope with all the bad shit going on his life. Drowing his sorrows in sex and alcohol and then getting angrier over why he can't connect with his one nights stands. So it was a pretty bad cycle.
>>4887302The assassin's order threw him off at Japan alone as a child for him to fend off by himself, as a test and education. With him being a hybrid created through unholy rituals, trained to kill people, alone, without speaking the langauge, and the goverment being isolationlist, and being plagued by hearing dead people. He killed a lot of people, and fucked otger to try to stop the pain. Also became an alcaholic. Also, when I made/voted for that write-in, It was to describe Bao, but than the Fujoshi that is Xin pointed at Renshu. Reeeeeeeeee
>>4887302And tge description was someone calm that we could confide in and read our emotions, and that could cook, because we can burn water.Probably should have been more specific though, to stop the shipper.
>>4887317Sounds like what he really needs is head pats and hand holding. How long have Xin and Renshu been in the spirit work, spirit time? Decades? Centuries? Can we pop in to say hello?>>4887324>because we can burn water.good lord he's that bad?
>>4887328You don't actually know where they are. They simply said they wanted to take 2 weeks off to be alone and figure themselves out. You mentioned you were worried that with you and Ming being their only source of influence that they might be limiting their own personal growth. So they left to who knows where. They could still be in the city or they cuold have left the mountian all together leaving you and Ming alone at the library. As far as you know, they can't visit the spirit world. Also yes it's that bad. Apart from basic meal prep like chopping ingredients TL can't cook for shit.
>>4887328Theyvaren't at the spirit world I think, just doing some soul searching around. But it's best to leave them to it, they left to find answer on their own, and we already meddled in their path too much. Alao we had aske stgem to improve their independence, because they said that they hated normal people and couldn't care kess for them.Tai Lung's cooking is a deadly poison, and most of the world classifies it as inhumane torture.
>>4887333Ah. Then perhaps we should find the time to check up on them, maybe ask the spirits for directions.>>4887336It wouldn't hurt no one to check up on how he's doing. it would be awful if he fell back into alcoholism again. Plus you know, damnation and bonds and all that.
>>4887336Tai Lung was also a loner for a time, but then he met some friends along the way. He did some things, fought some people, then died to save Ming, Xin, and the boat crew from death. Maybe going by yourself for a self discovery journey might work for some people, but I'm wonder if that was the right choice for the TigerBunny bro.
>>4887293Also there is no reason for blame, we all were too much of a coward to do something a about it.If I just had put my no vote in the first place, instead of just junping around, it wouldn't have happened. When asked about our sexuality, we went ro the duck who had expressed his opionion that gay is good. When Xin screamed liesxat us, we suck it up instead of confronting us.Anons are weak against emotinal damage, and bad at social combat overall.I'm not poiting fingers just saying that this result was because all of us.But there is still a chance for salvation, even if it's through annihilation[/spoiler
>>4887369He is with Xin, also they should come back next week.If they don't than we worry about him, and his absolute inability of meditating about anything without us holding his hand.
>>4887370Hush you. The harem route is your punishment for not holding fast to your faith.Plane was delayed, so I got an hour to kill before I head off. I'm gonna get to writing before I get too bummed out but it's the kind of bummed where you have to face your mistakes so no harm no foul. Gotta keep at it yo. Writing.
It's 100% fact that Tai Lung died a virgin. That is, in fact, why he gained mystical powers after his death. It's also a fact that Renshu died without ever knowing what it feels like to be loved. The ONLY instance of that came after his resurrection.
>>4887388But think boss, of salvation, deliverance, judgement! What is the price of a husbando for the victory of a waifu?Salvation on a even grander scale, the fall of the B.G.A, and end to all waifu wars!Do you see Luo? You don't, do you?
You wake up at your usual time to find someone knocking at the door. Curious, you quickly make your way to greet your visitor. It couldn't have been Xin Lan or Renshu, as they were still away and you doubt they would knock anyways. Upon opening the door, you see a wide eyed porcupine quite litterally shaking in their boots. "M-m-m-mail f-f-for y-y-y-you." They stammer and shakily hold out an envelope for you to take. They flinch and nearly curl up in a ball as you reach out and gently take the letter from their hands."Thanks." You say as you look at it. "Was there any other mail for my or my room mates?" You ask. The porcupine shakes their head no and they sprint away from your door, only screaming once they reached the end of the hallway. You eye the end of the hall, slightly confused and concerned but return to your letter. You doubt that going to speak with the poor boy would help their fear of you. You tear the envelope open and pull a sheet of paper from with in.Dear Applicant,We have received and reviewed your submission and have come to a decision regarding your application.Upon reviewing your work, we have determined that further investigation is required before we render a decision. You flip over the letter and find a small map of the Temple and Library showing you where your meeting was to take place. Along the edge of the map was a time and date as well. Friday in the afternoon, just around the time was beginning to set. Your heart skips a beat. You were going to have a face to face discussion of your work. Did this mean that they accepted your essay? Where they going to poke holes in it or perhaps reprimand you? Or maybe they simply wanted to see that you words were genuine and you could prove you knowledge base. You take a deep breath and steady yourself. There was no point in worrying or wondering. Things were going to happen and you had to go along with them. For now, you had other things you wanted to take care of. Namely setting up flyers, training Ming, and working on your meditation. You think back to the various suggestions Ming gave you.>How do you want to train your memory retention?>Ask someone to lecture you while you meditate. You'll try to retain all the knowledge while you also try to think of nothing.>Ask Ming to help you. Perhaps she can walk around town and hold up a sign or object as you go about your daily buisness. Then Ming can test you on what she was holding. It'll help you practice keeping an eye out for small details while occupied.>Perhaps someone else can be asked to help. They can do what you'd ask Ming to do but instead hold up something or recite something while you trained her. That way Ming can still be trained and you can be occupied as well.>Write in.
>>4887465I dunno. It sounds very...unbestgirl of you anon.
>>4887471>Ask someone to lecture you while you meditate. You'll try to retain all the knowledge while you also try to think of nothing.Ask for Yuan to help us learn about giving a presentation, or how to defend a thesis.>Go to tge restaurant and order a bowl of spup mad eonly of fishheads, the entire head, scales eyes and all. It's suposed to be good for your memory. It's the richest part of the body in omega-3, and being the part that's normally discarted, it should be cheap.

>>4887471Reading through the threads now>The dragons watch you and your group carefully. "Very well." Shenlong says. "Kai, for your crimes against the spirit realm and for a friend of the elements vouching for you, we sentence you to this trial. You shall spend your time in the 10 Courts of Hell as you wished. Yánluówáng shall administer your trials. Should you succeed, we shall offer you a second chance. Be it returning to the spirit realm or returning to your ancestors. You performance shall decide your fate. Should you fail, enternal damnation shall be your only consolation."Will we see kai again?
>>4887235Hey, thank you for that, and it's not your fault, anons wouldn't commit to anything and let themselves get blackmailed by renshu. Granted I am deeply personally disappointed with how this all turned out, I don't regret the ride, I had a lot of fun in those early threads, and as the saying goes it's not about the destination, it's about the journey. So long Luo, and if you ever start another quest, I will see you then. till thenhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUqSNbJuGOwkeep it real Luo
>>4887630See ya anon. It was good having you and maybe it'll be something you'd enjoy again in the future. If not, then I'll see you in the next quest. My name might change but the tripcode after it won't. Peace out man and good luck in the other quests you like...and watch out...it's raining again.
>>4887569I don't know. I'd have to think of a way to bring him back. I got one or two ideas but nothing concrete. Maybe you'll just see him next time you enter the spirit realm.
Did someone say that Xin's brother wasn't magic? he seems pretty magic to me. Also found his sorta musculature. He's fit, but he's still a bunny, which makes him a manlet. The image this conveys is funny to me.
>>4887471Huh, stark terror. That's a new one.>Ask someone to lecture you>>4887768In bunny terms he is a giant, like double the size of anyone else other than Xin.I can imagine an Awwano move of breaking a wall with one of them punches.
>>4887630And once again I must stand alone against the hordes.
>>4888091You use that language, but there are 4 people playing, 3 frequently. You, I and tiebreaker anon.Of course, Luo also
>>4888122A bloodthirsty hirde, ready to tear apart all that the faithful built. Also, this was the biggest drama of the quest, and an announcement of a anon of quitting, and was about waifus. Not even when we died there was this much uproar.Waifus and Husbandos really do destroy everything they touch.
>>4888128You'd think not. But they do strange things to a man.I would speculate it had more to do with personal grief with the concept of the gay OR a genuine expectation with Ming but given the drop off my inclination is towards the first.Eh, such speculation is rude and a pull up of a dead topic, especially when they did a mature thing of "Don't like, don't read".Anyway, I do wish to focus fire a question of what exactly do we plan to train them in?Like martial arts has 3 main draws. Health, Discipline and Power.Health, naturally, is that it makes you more healthy, better shape and more active. A martial artist like TL is miles better in shape than Tenzin and he in turn is miles better than a bean counting bureaucrat like that stupid mayor.Discipline, is control. You have more control over your body and yourself if you manage to cultivate that environment. And where you have control, you have awareness and that breeds confidence. It's a way for a healthy mentality. And lastly Power. TL razed a valley and wiped out an army while a lesser martial artist was able to hold him back for a couple of minutes and had a good chance of hurting him. All this through rigors of training for strength and learning techniques to use it.So my question here is which aspect do we focus on and promote as our draw? It'll have some effect on what we teach and what we are known for, since different focuses have us dedicating different amounts of time on different things. My personal preference is to focus on discipline, to avoid getting blowback from the captain if some of our class causes trouble. Really focus on "You control your body, so control yourself." sort of philosophy. Secondary focus on body improvement with the last focus being on actual full contact attacks.
>>4888156That was the idea with nixing medutation and phylosophy in the training too.Not only to avoid problems, but Tai Lung knows what happens when you ignore that part of Kung Fu.Like we said to Tseten, know why you fight and search strength, and then do it.Than we go for a better health, with things like yoga and Tai Chi, and training to becoming stronger and have better cardio. No pain training though. And also teach self defense, style focused on defending other than attacking, maybe even how to deal with multiple assailents, and how to easily and quickly reatreat if needed. This 3 should filter out nost bad faith actors, which means we can teach the real shit for anyone that is morr advanced.I also dislike the gay, the scummy way that both Renshu, Xin and Yuan (Isaid thatxit reminded me of the psycologist that tried to convince me I was gay) tried to force it, and the resulting unhealthy nature of the relationship, but I'm too deep to stop know. But it has eaten my enthusiasm though, I find it hard to finish everytime I try to continue the fanart projects, so I totally understand anon.
>>4888177So the given plan is to work at a basis of bodily improvement focused towards discipline exercises?Like hold your arms out in front of you for an hour at a time type shit? Planks and push ups and so on. It improves the bodies natural state and has a real "mind over matter" side. Perhaps every 3 lessons the third is a technique one, as you say focused mostly on defensive measures like throws, blocks or dodges.
>>4888203Basically yes.Try to teach them to always be calm during a fight, give like a 10 minutes pre training meditation. If we figure out the cahotic mediattion, we are training them on it. Maybe yoga too, and Tai Chi like I said.Stretching to increase flexibility so they can dodge better.Should probably add a few holds and grapples too.Kinda what we have been teaching Ming, but less extreme and specialized.
>>4888218Hopefully just as a set of Kata's to make it easier to remember how to stretch and bend rather than a legitimate means of defence.I can't think of any marital arts that is good against groups but TL knows basically everything so that should be fine.
>>4888235Who needs a martial art when you can make your own? The birth of Tai Fu.Be like Bruce Lee said, don't close yourself to a single style, take what is good, and throw away the bad.Or something, I don't remember neither the quote or context.
>>4888280You got the general gist. And TL does have his own style, 2 in fact, but we are a ways away from teaching anyone that
>>4887823A bunny is still a bunny, which is still a manlet compared to Tai Lung which I find awfully hilarious. I also found this gold nugget in thread#5.>>4888128Wasn't Ming claimed by Daiyu in regards war efforts within the waifu wars? In almost done with thread #5.>>4888156discipline, cardio, and temperament sounds like a good place to start in regards to training.>>4888177Go for gay, do not fear the gay.
>>4888399Dayui only said that she like her.If that is what keeps interest, by Ming flirting with us, and we inviting her to a "date" when we met, make us calling dibs first. Also no gay, or you don't get Big Fan. Yes, I'm holding things hostages again. If Renshu is allowed, so am I.And you are going to find more discussions about how things work later on.
>>4888399It is a funny moment.
Update on the Renshu Omake. I should've shut my mouth a bit because recording ain't going that well. There's weird glitches in either audacity, my system, or god forbid my mic and or my audio interface. Plus doing what I thought of for Renshu's voice, be it at the time or just in general, is kinda hard. I'm still working, but we've got a bit of hiccups. It's a bit exacerbated by the fact that I have other people living with me and I prefer to record at night to limit the amount of background noise for a cleaner base recording. So work on this will be slower than I thought sadly. Sucks cause I was pretty optimistic about this, but it don't mean I'm all bummed out, just humbled a bit, brought down to earth. And on the bright side I can finish up the script for the BIG BOY PROJECTWhich is really fun for me to write because I get to flex my narrative muscles way more.I'll catch you on the flip, everyone. Keep yourselves solid.
Joke woke up. Not gonna lie, last few hours of the game and post and combination of going to be at 4am burned me out way harder than nearly a years worth of writing. Gonna get something to eat and I'll see to doing a write in. Guess we're getting lectured while we meditate. Anything in particular you want to be lectured on?
>>4888592You can always post the script even if you can't record it.Don't let your work be wasted.
>>4888615My vote was for the duck to lecture us on how to do presentations and defend thesis. That way he can redeem himself for blue-anon's exile.
>>4888615I figured.Probably shouldn't be anything important, probably just the layout of the town or the names of people in his family or some boring ass roster of ancient china's courts?Something with a lot of names that we can't really guess at but isn't difficult to remember.
>>4888615Dang, guess I ain't the only one having a few creative setbacks of some kind. Also supporting >>4888635>>4888622Nah. I'm not wasting jack. I'll get it done one way or another it just will take a bit, don't get all fatalistic or anything on me because I sure ain't. It'd be more of a waste in my eyes to just post the script, than give up on it, because it defeats the point of the medium to me. Some things are meant to be enjoyed in one medium and this from the ground up is audio-centric
Bad day all around gents. Internet is giving me trouble right now (going out every so often) and I got a letter saying that my ISP is lowering my speed and bill because the package I was on no longer exists. I suppose now is the best time to let you all know that I have been looking to change providers. I'm not sure when I will do that but I know that I'll have a few days of no internet access because of it. I'll have phone internet but considering that my phone is banned from posting half the time I wouldn't be able to post conistently. I'm mostly worried that it might mean the death of the quest if I can't post for a long period of time. For now, I'm going to do my write up and post it when I can.
>>4888950Well, that sucks. Here on third world land tge internet providers also try to fuck us over, but normally if you complain long enough for a entire day, you can sort something out.
>>4888950Chill man, circumstances explained. So it means you haven't dropped the baby and run.
You decide that the best way to train your mind would probably be to try and listen to someone while trying to remember what they said. Before you go and enact your plans, you vaugely recall of food that helps the mind. You decide that if you were going to train then you'd go all out and so you head to the upper levels of the library to find Ming. It takes a bit considering you can't enter their library or their dormitories but eventually someone manages to get ahold of her so you could ask her about it."Fish tends to have oils and fats that are said to help the mind and remembering things. Funnily enough, you can find most of those in the head of fish." She says. "Though you'll need to be eating that consistently before I think it would have any effect. Just try and add a bit to your diet then and there. Think of it like workout supplement. I'll see about finding some other things that can help. There might be a few powders or extracts you might be able to take so you're not constantly eating fish." You thank her and quickly head to the marketplace. While you can't cook, you do make a mental note to ask Renshu or Ming to cook you some fish during your free time and instead head to a resteraunt to ask for some made for you. Though you're given some odd looks, the place politely accepts your request and makes you the meal you ask for. It's a rather stange thing to eat the heads of fish and while the cooks did their best, there was a reason these parts are considered for disposal. You down your meal and head back to to the library to find Yuan Bo. He would be the best person to ask for a lesson. "A lesson? Of course!" He says happily. "I'm always up for a good discussion. Now let's see...what would you like to learn about?""I'm not really sure." You admit. "What do you know about the royal family? Or at least the extended family? I'm afraid I don't know much about them."
"Ah...the royal family stems quite far back." Yuan Bo says as he motions for you to take a seat. "As for the extended family...well, it's best that we start from the beginning as the family actually started to branch out with a few generations of it's inception." You nod politely as you feel a long lecture coming forth. Figuring this was the best time to practice your meditation, you listen intently while trying to also let go of your surroundings. The result is rather lackluster to say the least. It starts out well, with you learning of Hien's family. How they, in fear of the current instability of a newly reformed China, began to try and have as big of a family as possible should the current head falter or be killed off only to realize that in doing so they only created more heirs and people with rights to the throne. You weren't sure how the family manages to stablize this issue as around that time, names and dates began to blur together and only compounded the issue of you zoning in and out of your meditation. It was like being half awake or falling asleep. You would find yourself listening and then suddenly realize you had slipped off into your own thoughts and meditation before pulling yourself back to awareness only to fall back into a trance.By the time the lecture finished, you were stuck with a jumble of names and dates that didn't really make sense. You thank Yuan Bo and let him know that you'd be interested in another lecture before excusing yourself. The process repeats for the rest of the week, each with different topics on hand. You come to realize that this is perhaps the hardest portion of your training as it required something that wasn't intrinsically tied to your body. It wasn't a muscle you could train to work via muscle memory per say but still required you attention. By the end of the week you at least make some progress. You manage to somehow maintain attention and meditate for what you think is roughly 5 seconds or at least a sentence or two before you things get fuzzy and you go into a trance. Not a long time but a big step forward for sure.>What do you want to tackle next?>Ming's Training.>Your meeting with the Brotherhood on your ascension.>The results of your flyers. With lessons half lingering in your mind, you realize that it's Friday. You quickly finish up your afternoon meal and hurry back to your room to grab the map. You linger a bit, scanning the various notes you had made while writting your essay and debating whether or not you should bring them. Would it look bad if you brought them with you? You didn't want to make it seem like you didn't know what you were talking about. In the end you decide against the idea. If you brought your notes you would probably try to rely on them too much. You worked best under pressure. You make your way up the many steps of the library/temple while looking at the map at the same time. You were so immersed in your thoughts and following the map that you're only brought back to reality by a sharp yelp. You stop and turn to look at the source of the shouting. "Sorry!" You say and are about to ask if they were ok when you realize that you know exactly what happened despite being immersed in your map. You had simply stepped to the side and twisted out of the way. Perhaps cutting it a bit close but you had moved without thinking. You try to keep your heart steady as excitement grows. A few more quick apologies and you dash up the stairs while trying to hide your large grin. You had done it. If only for a few seconds but you had manged to pay attention while not paying attention. Though you don't know how to do it on command, the fact you had done it on instinct and without intention brings an excitment you haven't felt since you were a child.---The meeting room for your appointment is large one with a long table and several chairs. You assume that this might be a meeting hall for the highest order of the order and wonder if Sangpo comes here to speak with them. You enter with a polite knock and see that there is only one person in the room. A smaller dog was shuffling some papers around. They quickly look up when you knock and wave you over."Come in. Come in." He says though to your surprise, he seems nervous as well. "I...uhh...thank you for making it?" He says as a half question as he looks at the pages once more. A clear sign that he was not comfortable doing this though you don't get the impression that it's because of your presence.
"I got your letter earlier this week." You say as you take a seat across the table from him. "It said you wanted to talk to me about my paper. I was getting a bit worried since it's been a while since I applied.""I...well yes." He says. "Uhh..." He quickly looks over the papers a bit and his eyes light up. "Oh! Yes! You're the one who wrote about spirits and Chi." He says. "Yes,yes. We don't have many people who are as experienced in this field so it took us a while to be able to double check your writings. I have to say, your work is quite interesting." He admits.>What do you say?>Ask if there was anything wrong with your paper.>Ask if you're going to be allowed to advance.>Ask if meetings like this normally happen for people who apply for advancement.>Write in.
>>4890521>Thank you for the compliment.>I'm afraid I don't know your name sir, apologies, I should have asked that first.>The letter mentioned that further investigation was required, did I fail to properly explain my findings, or didn't write it in the correct format?Time to be ultra formal. No one expects the giant ex-criminal to be polite.

>>4890557It almost makes me want to say a I don't bite too.But better not.
>>4890563He seems well at ease with us, I just think this is not his usual posting.Though I dont think a dog is very worried about a snow leopard biting him anyway. If I understand this place, all the higher monks are basically sorcerers or expert specialists in something to stall us.

"Thank you for the compliment but I'm afraid I don't know your name, sir." You say politely. The dog adjusts his papers for a bit. "Oh right! I'm Mida." He says suddenly remembering. "I guess it'd be Brother Mida considering I'm a higher rank than you." He chuckles nervously. "Are you ok?" You ask. "Me? Oh I'm fine." He says shuffling nervously a bit. "I just...never actually did this before." He admits. "It's my first time administering an interview." He says sheepishly. "It doesn't really help that I'm probably the more educated on the subject at hand either." He says waving the papers around. "Right..." You say. "Is this...normal for people to be interviewed like this when they apply for advancement?" You ask."Well...not really." Mida admits. "Most people tend to write about rather mundane things. Stuff like government, literature, perhaps some history. That or medicine, building, or in some rare cases philosophy. Stuff that we have extensive literature on or experience with and we don't need to do much work to authenticate the information. Rarely, like in your case, we have someone write about more...esoteric topics. Things like Chi or the elements. Perhaps more obscure facets of philosophy or maybe a considerably niche part of history. In these cases, we have to spend a little bit more time studying the matter to make sure the information is correct. Then once we have that done we conduct an interview.""I did read that in my letter." You admit. "It mentioned something about further investigation. Did I not explain myself well enough? Or maybe I wrote it wrong?""Oh yes. The letters do tend to be a bit too offical I'll admit." Mida says trying to ease the situation with a chuckle but really ending up looking a bit more nervous than before. "The reality is that we just want to see if you know what you're talking about in person and not simply copying the information from a book or scroll. It's one thing to be able to research a topic and put the information on paper for it to be easily digestible but it's another thing entirely to be familiar with the topic. Err...think of it like copying a recipie or instructions rather than knowing the instructions by heart and being able to explain why the instructions are in that order. One person knows how to find the instructions and put it in their own words and the other knows the meaning behind the instructions and their intent. When people apply for advancement, we only want to promote the latter. That's basically what this meeting is about.""So it's just another test?" You ask. "Why not simply put that in the letter?"Mida looks a bit flustered and fidgets. "Well...I'm not really sure if I should be telling you this but...it's also a bit of a judge of character. If we simply told you we were testing you then you might just go and try to memorize as many facts about the topic as you can as means of cheating the system. That's why the option to postpone the appointment is there."
"So if I had asked for more time...I would have failed this?" You ask."Not exactly. If you had a good reason for asking for a different appointment then that would be taken into consideration. After all, everyone has things going on in their lives that they cannot control. Simply asking for a rescheduling isn't grounds for failure but if you had asked for a rescheduling several times or perhaps your reasons for rescheduling weren't especially good...then we start to deduce that there might be an ulterior motive. It's not really a simple matter of you doing x or y and thus you fail or pass." Mida explains."I see..." You say as you take Mida's words in. "Well I'll awnser your questions the best I can, sir. I'm afraid that's all I can really do."Mida nods. "That's all we ask you to do." He says trying to sound encouraging. He picks up the papers and reads through them, the light coming back to his eyes. "Fascinating stuff this is..." He mutters to himself and as if catching himself, he clears his throat and asks, "You mentioned in your paper that the spirits can be communicated with. Can you explain exactly how you do this?">What do you say?>Write in.
>>4890707>Normally I just meditate, and become able to see, interact and talk with them. Although it's less talking, and more directly sharing the meaning, intention and emotion of what I think, and the same for them.>Although I can only do it when I'm at peace with myself. There was a short period after I learned how to do it, where doubt and fear clouded my mind. I could feel they were around me, but could not reciprocate.
>>4890707The simple answer is through meditation. You meditate to clear your mind and allow your perception of the spiritual realm to become stronger, allowing you to notice them. Spirits themselves dont inhibit their capacity to speak, people just can't notice when they do most of the time. However to be more technical, when you meditate and enhance that connection, you are able to detach yourself from your body and create a new one with your Chi, through which you can move around the world to a point or move directly to the spirit realm, should you be skilled enough. In this state you are able to project your thoughts and mind through the astral body in order to have a conversation. Conversing with spirits is a bit difficult, given they speak in concepts and emotions rather than chinese or other physical tongues, so it can take a while to learn to have full conversations, but even then they dont have some very basic concepts like we do..
>>4890726Oh yeah, the whole astral projection thing.Yours is more complete, I will support.
>>4890726Ah, I did forget one thing.A note about Chi and the spirit realms, it's incredibly difficult to use and nearly impossible to listen for if the person doing so is not at peace with themselves, from my experiences both personal and observing others.Inner peace, natural sensitivity and practice seem to be the only means by which to achieve such states without sponsorship from a higher patron.
>>4890726>>4890730Flexing our brain muscles. Writing.
"I guess, simply put, I do it through meditation. I clear my mind and allow my perception of the spiritual realm to become stronger, allowing myself to notice them. Funnily enough, spirits don't actually keep quiet or hide their ability to speak. Most people just don't notice when they speak to them most of the time." You explain. "Though to be more technical, when you meditate and enhance that connection, you are able to detach yourself from your body and create a new one with your Chi, through which you can move around the world to a point or move directly to the spirit realm, should you be skilled enough. In this state you are able to project your thoughts and mind through the astral body in order to have a conversation. Conversing with spirits is a bit difficult, given they speak in concepts and emotions rather than chinese or other physical tongues, so it can take a while to learn to have full conversations, but even then they dont have some very basic concepts like we do.""I see! I see!" He says energetically and begins to write down something on small book. You're rather surprised Mida is able to do so given both the size of the brush he is holding and how fast he was writing. Once he was finished with that he turns to his pages and gives them another quick look over. "So spirits don't speak in the way you or I do. They use concepts and the like. Why do you think that is?" He asks. You pause for a moment. You didn't write about that and you never actually gave it some thought. This must be part of the test. You think for a moment before answering. "I guess..." You start slowly. "Because they're not actually like you or me. We speak with words because we're not connected. I can't read your thoughts and you can't read mine. So we do the best we can to give one another an idea of what ideas we want to convey. The spirits don't need to do that because they can already present their emotions and meaning. So they have no use for words. They're all kind of connected given that they are of the same element.""Right...right..." Mida replies. "I also noticed that you mentioned that spirits and these...sprites....can die. Would you care to explain what you mean by that?" >What do you say? How do you explain the death of an elemental?>Write in
>>4891168>They have a simplified existence, not burdened my flesh and blood and bone like we are. Their body is entirely a mass of energy - Chi, even if it's aspected in a particular way. There exist abilities that can allow one to take another's chi for themselves, and when used on a Sprite it robs them of their entire existence, giving them something...roughly equivalent to death. The individual sprite or spirit ceases to be, even if they don't often recognize their own individuality. If that energy were to be released, it would not take the form of the prior sprites - it would take the form of new ones, who go to complete their nature-driven tasks to maintain the order of the world.Did I get that right? That was my takeaway from what happened after Kai released the chi, but I could be wrong as far as "the energy basically gets repurposed into entirely new spirits" bit goes.
>>4891168>That one is a bit more complex. The spirits are beings of pure chi, connected to one another. As such, they are so much as individuals, but parts of a freater whole, so much so that the sprites, the lesser or younger form of them, compketly lack the understanding of concepts like names. However, not everything is perfectly shared, so each one still have different knowldge and experiences. If a spirit chi is somehow completly depleted, that one specific spirit will be gone, even though it's chi and understanding can disperse and return to the whole.
>>4891195I think it is like that, since little Fan is different from the others, and is proud that they have knowledge that other don't.
>>4891203Fuck, they aren't so much indivuduals. Also>Should one use techinques that would drain and absorb the Chi of the spirits, or trap them through the use of fetishes like jade statues, the Chi and Knowledge would not be able to return to nature, and in a way inflict the closest that a true death these being could meet. But I wouldn't recommend that, since it will earn only the wrath of the Great Dragons and all of the inhabitants of Eureka. Also a great way to be sent to the 7 (or is it 9?) hells, and have all the records of your race and dynasty expunged.I'm sure that the legends of the dragon spearating the world from the spirits is instead of how the Bat empire crumble, probably after the friend of the wind bat started a revolution.
>>4891226Sorry for the quadpost, but I'm not so sure anymore that mentioning Kai's punishment or the Bat's fall is a good idea, it adds extra information that is either unncessary or a guess. But keep the whole attracting Eureka's and the Dragon's wrath.Actually, this whole post is speculation due to the way that the dragon's acted due to Kai not letting the Chi return, so it could be disregarded, but I feel like it's one that makes sense. Not only that, but Mida can put that oart of the information in the deeper part of the library, since it's dangerous information.
>>4891168I'll try and condense the other votes into their constituent elements.>Spirits as we understand them are beings made of pure Chi, embodying the 4 elements from their respective parents the great dragons. They have a life cycle of starting out as sprites, who act as children in this analogy and they carry out simple functions in nature to perpetuate the cycles found throughout nature. Such functions are rather simple and when working together in great number can enact great changes, like those upon this mountain who create great cold and great heat on the challenges up. These then may grow in power and experience to become proper spirits, at which point they develop closer to their patrons dispositions, more prideful and aware of their stations in nature.>While this may seem to be pointless babbling or showing off, there is a point to it. That being that as they age, the spirits identities as they are begin to change. Sprites possess a collective knowledge such that telling one something will make the others largely aware of it through time, allowing the information to spread throughout the "body" of spirits. It is also from this collective pool that each elemental draws it's default personalities, rendering them largely indistinct from eachother. This isn't to say they are not individuals, but in this starting stage they are copies of a template without the experiences to let them change and it is this experience that makes spirits much more pronounced.>Now that we have established what makes them distinct and more than merely cosmic energy given purpose, we can discuss how they can be killed. It's a terrible thing to do but murdering a spirit is possible through the use of chi stealing techniques, whereby the user of such distasteful arts takes the energy composing the sprite or spirit into oneself or a charm and keeps it there, effectively destroying the mind and experiences of the spirit but keeping the energy. If this energy is then released and disipated, the energy could then return to the world but those experiences would never return, effectively killing the spirit. I don't yet know why this is, but that is the truth of it. Death of the mind rather than the body. More rarely this is a voluntary or natural cause, but I have only witnessed murder and been informed by experienced parties that death of spirits are rare.>>4891195this is a compact and understandable explaination, I just enjoy being more explanation driven.>>4891783I agree, Kai and He Ling are irrelevant to this paper, just what they could do.
>>4891793Oh and a point I do feel should be itterated."Spirits don't comprehend the concept of death, which intuits to me that it is a result of their muddled shared knowledge and rebirth, seeing new lives as something like a change of clothes over the same quintisential core.
>>4891793Getting to writing then finishing up my soup. Ordered the soup that An Bo's dish was based off of yesterday. It's pretty good.

You wait politely for a bit then a few minutes before Mida finally finishes and looks at you. "That's quite an explanation." He says as he puts his things down. "Very few people tend to bring that level of detail in their explanations when we bring them in for an interview." He admits. "I thought this was your first time?" You ask.
"It is." He admits. "But I've been allowed to watch a few before to get some experience...though I have to admit, it's quite different leading one of these than keeping quiet and watching." He says sheepishly. He glances at his notes and then asks. "Well I think I got what I need to make a decision but just to do my due diligence and make a good impression, even if you kind of already answered it, but you mentioned this kind of collective memory. That the spirits all know what the other is thinking but you also say that they have individual personalities and the like. Now I understand you said that they also become more mature and tend to take on the personalities of their patrons but this idea that they can posses seperate personalities while still being a hive mind is rather contradictory. Would you mind explaining this phenomenom a bit more?">What do you say?>Write in.
>>4893520>Spirits are not a very simple lot. (Polite laughter)>But consider it like this. You and I both know the layout of this room, and if we were to describe it to someone else then they would be able to get an idea of what has gone on, what goes where and so on and so forth. You and I both know the reputation of a fine establishment in the city, because we were told what was there, what its food tastes like and so on despite not experiencing it ourselves. This is understanding is shared between everyone but it is heavily flawed because we need to use words, while they can use actual memory, meaning and intent to minimise the muddling though it is still present. Actually experiencing it and being challenged as an individual is still quite different from being content and peaceful somewhere else as another individual is challenged.>And even our bodies have the same phenomena. If I was to fracture my bone in my left hand, all of me knows how painful it is, but only the bone will mend and grow stronger for it, if you gather my meaning.>Naturally, I am not a spirit and so could be completely wrong, but I dont believe I am, based on all that I have learned.
>>4893520>I would say they aren't a true hive mind or a gestalt conciouness, but merely that are shared existance.>It's as if the furs on your body were capable of tought, and independent actions. When you stumble your toe for example, it's that part that it's in pain, yet the whole body knows and suffers, even though it doesn't understand completly. They know they are part of a bigger whole and don't give a tought about concepts such as indivuality and names unless introduced to it over a long time, just like a person may struggle to understand foreign customs if they never left their home, but in a even more difficult, as is a completly alien way of life. That shared knowledge seems to be a subconscious thing, like as a newborn knows how to breath, they can't exactly access it at will, and it's not shared perfectly. I would wager that only the Great Dragons and the oldest and most powerfull spirit would be able to, but I unfortunaly never discussed his own nature with Shenlong, and powerful spirits tend to be rare and reserved, so most of what I learned has been by talking with sprites, observations in Eureka, and a few comments of a high priestess of the wind.>And I believe that it's because of how they represent nature itself. You can name a moutain, a river, a volcano or a current of wind, but could you tell what is the the water that flowed? What air passed thorugh? What earth is tilled and what air is flowing? We can't, and for them, it doean't matter, because they believe they just are. >I'm still quite confused of their paradoxal nature. I know for sure that they have atleast some form of indivuality, even though they say they don't, because a certain sprite has devided to follow me for some time, and it has some knowledge that the others didn't, and is slowly becoming more different. I only know that the dead spirits turn into new sprites, because I seem it happen.
>>4893656It would be much better if we could exain how we have that mental bond with Renshu. We just know what the other is thinking and feeling, and we have already acessed his memories. Now imagined if instead of (being) forced together in a imperfect connection, we always were perfectly in tune to begin with.
>>4893664We didnt see new spirits born by the way. We saw them released and the method by which they were murdered.Shenlong told us that they will be reborn.
>>4893684Than I remembered wrong, but ended up with the same result.Wait, did Shenlong say they would be reborn as sprites or as a full fleged spirit?
>>4893697Uuuuhh I dont remember exactly. But given that they all start as sprites I will say that one.
>>4893585>>4893656Big ol' write ins. Writing.
>>4893656Fuck, I mentioned air twice.>>4893755Could you replace the what air flowed to what flame burned, boss?
>>4893806Will do.
You stroke your chin a bit. "I would say they aren't a true hive mind or a gestalt conciouness, but merely that they are shared existance." You start. "consider it like this. You think for a moment longer. "I believe that it's because of how they represent nature itself. You can name a moutain, a river, a volcano or a current of wind, but could you tell what is the the water that flowed? What air passed thorugh? What earth is tilled and what fire is burning? You pause, thinking perhaps you might have overspoke. Mida is quickly writing again and you wait for him to stop. After a while he stops and looks up. "Well...I really don't know what to say." He admits. "I'm not entirely sure why you're an acolyte given your breadth or knowledge." He says. "Frankly, I think you know more than anyone in the brotherhood. Even I'm learning something new and I've spent my entire life studying this.""Oh..." You say quietly. "Sorry...""Oh don't be sorry!" Mida says excitedly. "I'm going to see what I can do to advance you faster. Yout knowledge is being wasted at the lower levels given what is available to you." He says. "For now, all I can say is congratulations. You've more than proven you're qualifications. Welcome to the rank of Monk, Brother Tai Lung." Mida holds out his hand and you take it to shake. The dog yelps and pulls his hand back. "Nice grip. Or perhaps I need to work out more. Nonetheless, I hope to speak with you again so that I can learn more." He says bowing deeply. You return the bow, rather embarassed. You weren't expecting someone who was a higher rank than you deferring to you as someone of greater importance. "Now, I'll have your things sent to your current room by tomorrow, along with your new dorm room so pack up your things." He says smiling."Thanks." You say, rather relieved. "I'll go and do that." With another bow, you and Mida exit the meeting and go your seprate ways. There was a feeling of excitement in your chest. You had managed to pass the order's test but not only that had received a glowing reccomendation. You weren't sure what you were expecting given your education but knowing that you were doing well was more than enough to make you happy. Even so, you were more excited to tell Ming the news next time you met.>What do you do now?>See how well your flyers are doing.>Train Ming.>Try and visit shenlong.>Write in.
>>4893878>Try out the fliersThis is the next time sensitive operation. Once we've got the ball rolling and a set day/time to do it, we can then deal with ming, then talk to shenlong
>>4893886Also huh. Didn't realise spirits were such a difficult subject to research.
>>4893891I think, and that's definitely my fault, anons vastly underestimate how powerful and knowledgable TL and the other heroes are. Just being able to speak with spirits is a feat that takes a life time to do and even that is at a basic level. TL can speak to all four. Even becoming a Kung Fu master is an increadibly rare feat though one more easily atainable. Being able to use basic Chi strikes like at the start of the quest is something that also requires a life time to do. None of the five can do that and Po can only do that because of Dragon Warrior/Panda shenangins. TL's done the impossible several times over even in the eyes of other people at his level and stuff that isn't impossible, requires a life of dedication in a single subject. The big guy knows all Kung Fu styles (which each would take a life of dedication to learn and master a single if not a handful of similar styles), can speak with all elements, can meditate to heal himself, can use ki offensively, has attained inner peace, is best friends with a Great Dragon, has bested an army. The guy is a true living legend and a bit of actual spoilers has long cleared his own name in the eyes of the Great Judge for his own judgement. It no wonder that he's held in such high regard by those that have listened to his tale, or learned to see beyond his crimes. The guy is...well quite frankly amazing. Which makes it the all the more hilarious when he speaks or flaunts his abilities like they're no big deal infront of regular people.
>>4893878>See how well your flyers are doing. We can than train any new recruits together with Ming. And due to time dilation on Eureka, talking with everyone there won't talk that long. Just hope that Shenlong and Bao doesn't get mad at us sharing their nature, or laugh at us misunderstanding sprites, spirits, dragons and chi.>>4893891Probably because moat people that reach the level that they can talk with them are either ancient and recluse monks and priest, like Oogway and Bao.Mibg has a natural appitdude yet she never developed on her own, we only learned how to because we died after impressing the Warer Dragon, a chance we only got by having the wind dragon as our patron. Renshu could hear spirits, most likely due to the rituals used to create him, and yet they are from the dead, not nature, and he saw it more as curse than blessing through most of his life. Not only that, but the few knowledge that is recorded is muddled through retelling and interpretations, or outright wrong.
>>4893914I mean, I got that astral transcendence was hard to do, but I figured that if some head priest in a city could do it, then the upper ranks of the great library would host some 2-4 of the fuckers, not including the exarch. And even with the exarch, I would have thought he'd have given several tomes on the subject given his long long life. Writing a page a week on top of running a city and meditating still has a book out within a decade.>That spoilerHuh. Never really thought about it, just like regular life I guess.Still, it is impressive and it's somewhat hillarious to contextualization just how amazing we are, especially in regards to the gator's research.>>4893918Maybe sure, I just thought that They'd have more, being the premier authority on all things knowledge.
>>4893934If anons continue the gay, we need to find a way to freeze our sperm. It's a detrimentent to the civilization to not pass the Tai Lung genes. We need to find a ancient chinese sperm bank.
>>4893934You're not wrong to assume that but the higher ranks of the Brotherhood also arrive with other subjects in mind such as alchemy. It's an order but less of a solely spiritual minded one and one more focuses on the preservation and expansion of knowledge so many of the Brotherhood are masters if not geniuses in their field but that doesn't mean they all meditate and contemplate on Chi. Sangpo has definitely written books and it's not much of a spoiler to say that he's far more knowledgeable on the subject of spirits and chi than you but that doesn't mean he's willing to share all that knowledge or that anyone is reading his books. He's got to balance what knowledge to share and withhold either because of it's nature, the importance of how long it took to aquire it, or the worldly experience needed to appreiacte the weight of said knowledge. Not to mention the head priest back at the city was pretty damn old. Like in his mid 80s old and I think I mentioned even he could speak to spirits at your level which at the time was basic conversations with wind spirits who spoke vaugely to you.>Maybe sure, I just thought that They'd have more, being the premier authority on all things knowledge. They are. It just so happens that knowledge goes beyond just spirits and Chi. Dawa herself is an expert in agriculture and the like. She helps manage the city's farms and crop breeding to make sure they have the best yeilds and nutritious harvests. Mida is the expert in spirits and chi but he's still young and the fact he can keep up with you and your paper is kind of a testament of how much progress he's made.
>>4893951Given what you've been arguing with the gators, what the buns have been through, and the whole point of training Ming, I think that's anthetical to the entire viewpoint of TL even in a pragmatic sense.
>>4893953That's fair. I do realise we are going to people who study astrophysics and asking them why tea leaves predict the future, it's just the natural assumption that "smartest men in the world know everything ever"
>>4893886>>4893918Skipping to the weekend to see how our flyers did. Maybe we're gonna train the whole city? We are best girl after all. Writing.
>>4894055How can it be a skip to the weekend if we were at friday. That's just the next day. Will we have time to medidate too, or are we leaving that for next week?
>>4894058Because we're jumping all over the place in terms of time. Had you voted for training Ming we'd be at the end of the week. Given how much you want to get done in a single week I'm just asking what you want narrated first. Just so happens that you're choosing things in chronological order. Visiting shenglong could have happened midweek.
>>4894062Oh, that makes sense.
>>4894072Yeah I felt it was better than having anons wait for a massive wall of text.
You pace nervously around the tree near the edge of your now thoroughly cleared training area. A clean circle is etched in the high grass, the area completely trampled into submission over weeks and weeks of constant walking around and running. In truth, you're quite early for your 'class'. The flyers you had put up around town during the week specified the afternoon today to give people enough time to get things done and have a clear afternoon to join but you wanted to make a good impression. It would do you no good if you showed up late for your own class. Not even Ming was here yet, as she had a few things to take care of before promising to arrive on time. You pace a bit more and contemplate stretching once more. You didn't want to cramp up infront of your students. Students...that was a strange word. Would they be your students? You didn't consider yourself to be much of a teacher. You were nothing like your father, nothing that would demand the respect he deserved or even deserve the title of teacher. Then again, anyone who came here would probably not stay for another lesson right? This was just a curiosity so anyone coming today would be akin to a curious passerby to a carnival game. You're not sure where your anxiety came from. You were training Ming just fine and she was a great learner so there must be something you were doing right on your end.You were so caught up in your thoughts that you barely caught the familiar noise of something cutting through the wind. Instinctively you throw yourself to the side and continue rolling as several things slam into the ground where you once where and follow you for a few more seconds before stopping. You get to your feet, body tense as you see that your attacker's weapons were...playing cards? The leaves above you rustle and a white bolt falls atop of you. "Gottcha!" Xin Lan says covering your eyes. "Glad to see you've gotten much slower and have neglected everything I have taught you." They say. "You're the worst student I've ever had.""Funny." You say, rather stuffily. "I don't remember you teaching me anything."
Xin Lan grabs your bicep and swings around into your arms and relaxes in them, once again resting their feet on your shoulder and their head in their arms as you cradle them. You notice that they're wearing a dress today, which was slightly surprising considering how fast they were. "Yeah, that's because you're a bad student." They say smugly. "So what are you doing here all by your lonesome? Not seeing anyone behind my back are you?""I don't think anyone could replace you." You smirk. "If you must know, I'm setting up martial arts classes. For anyone who is interested. I put up flyers all over town.""Seems kinda lonely for a class." Xin Lan replies looking around. "How about we ditch this place and go play some cards or something?"You stroke Xin Lan's soft ears. "Class hasn't started yet. There's still about an hour or so before we're supposed to start. I just wanted to get here early.""Oh yeah?" They ask. "Seems way too early for me. We could be eating or something.""You know eating before exercise is a bad idea.""Not for me." Xin Lan replies. "That's why I'm the teacher and you're the student.""So you want to teach the class for me?" You tease."Sure. I've been wondering how easy it is to teach a man to kill. Now I got a whole city of curious students." Xin Lan counters with a grin."Nevermind." You say with a sigh."So what are you even gonna do today? What's the lesson plan?" They ask.>What do you say?>Say that you'll go through basic forms. Shouldn't be too hard.>Say that you'll follow the lessons you taught Ming. Dodging for today.>Admit you're not sure. Ask if they have any advice.>Write in.
>>4894359>Lesson plan? I was just going to go by personalised amounts.>Basic forms>So are you and Renshu back? or did you just come to flaunt your newest fashion?
>>4893951The sexuality may be gay, but the relationship is as strong as steel. Not very heat resistant however, renshu got that hot hot fuel. Turnin my man TL into a whole nother state of matter, ya dig?
>>4894359Here's the plan>>4888156>>4888177>>4888203>>4888218>>4888235>Today I'm starting with basic forms for self defense, but not before teaching a bit of reflection.>>4894663That's why blue anon shouldn't have left. With you here now, it's impossible to fix this comunnal mistake.Really should have posted the no write-in early, it keeps haunting me. Just got to hope that my stockholm syndrome stays strong than my regret.
>>4894827I figure we should focus on our first lesson rather than the overarching theme of it.Get up and give em a brief rundown on what we plan to do. Self defence and a paticular study of restraint. If you just want to learn how to fight, this isnt the right lesson for them.Sounds about as condensed as we can get.As for your concerns, chill out. While I think the other guy is going way too far the other direction, its whichever way the dice fall rather than a stubborn adherence to a chosen path.I'd be more annoyed that this incessant hair pulling hasnt vanished when we thought this thing was put to bed, but it is still 4chan.
>>4894846That is good for today. I would like that we make a point that every lesson starts with a bit of self reflection/meditation and Tai Chi/katas, before we move on to the real thing, like an warm up mixed with philosophy.I just posted the entire plan so we could discuss it with Xin.I also tought that it would go away, and I didn't even really care that much since the drama of a few days ago.But since them it has been at the back of my mind, annoying me and draining enthusiasm.
>>4894852My only concern is making sure that we have an effective hook. First lesson is a first impression and we need a good one to bring them back. But on the same score, perhaps note and detail that martial arts require perseverance as well, so if you are not in all the way and cant be bothered to keep up the attendance when you easily could then dont bother staying. Though that is a bit harsh, more drill instructor.Another means may be "if you dont keep at it, you dont benefit. Bear that in mind"As for the rest, I've no salve for you. "Get over it" doesnt help and nor does "think about something else."Hmm. Have you considered mental stops or flat put drowning it out with expectations/planning? No idea if it helps but it's all the advice I have.
>>4894875We also got to make sure to pass the idea that we are not going to teach how to kill a person, but how to defend yourself and persevere, not how to go around and hurt people. That should help put people on the right mindset.Perhaps I should try to finish some drawings. Maybe if I force myself to remember why I have fun on the quest, the worry will go away.>>4894852I meant to say that I didn't really care before the drama, but since then it have been anoying me.
>>4894662>>4894827Telling Xin Lan our teaching plan. Writing.
"Well killing people definitely isn't it. I'm thinking of starting with basic forms but I need to also make it clear that these lessons aren't for harming just pure self defense. I don't want to cause trouble with an influx of vigilantes." You say. Xin Lan frowns and looks away"Shame." They say, with false bordem. "I could have been the best teacher you ever employed. Maybe I should start my rival school. That's ussually how these things go right?" They adjust a bit and relax some more. "Well...don't you think that you might be jumping a bit too far?" They ask."What do you mean?" You ask."Well...not to be rude but I wouldn't call many of the people here to be...fit. Healthy, yes but there's still fat to trim so to speak. Wouldn't it be better to get them into shape first?" Xin Lan says. "Even Ming needed to be run into the ground while we traveled before we taught her anything and even during then we worked her to the bone.""You're not wrong but Ming want to get into actual trouble. Not just defending herself but seek it. We're a bad influence after all." You say with a grin."That we are." Xin Lan says with a smile."I'm not going to hinder these people but for the purposes of these lessons, defending oneself and getting away is more important than seeking fights. There will be some days where I'll focus on keeping fit and staying healthy but for today, I want to impress the idea of what these lessons are for." You explain. "Some basic forms and philosophy.""Well, I guess you're right. Gotta show the goods to entice the buyers after all. If you spent the first lesson working out then most poeple would just think this is an aerobics class." They reply. "Do I get to punch anyone as an example.""You know the awnser to that." You say and hold Xin Lan out at arms length. "So are you and Renshu back? Or did you just come back to bully me and flaunt your newest fashion?"
"Oh so you did notice. You're so sweet." They say slipping from your grip and hanging from your neck. "Of course I'm back. I just couldn't stand to stay away from my big strong snow leopard. Missed sleeping with you." They say as they hug you and bury their face in your chest, causing you to look away bashfully and blush as they reach up and stroke your ear."Can't even last a day could you?" You say."Nope. You've spent two weeks in peace. I need to catch up on all the teasing I missed. I bet you 5 coins that Ming's been neglecting her duties." They laugh."Wait...you're back? What about your brother?" You ask."Stripes said he wanted a few days more to think." They say. "You know how he can be. Always thinking and meditating.""Do you know where he is?" You ask."Of course I know." They say. "You think I'm gonna let him out of my sights?""I wouldn't think so." You say and in an attempt to change subjects, you say, "Ming's late.""And your field is empty." Xin Lan says swinging themselves to sit on your shoulders. "How exactly did you advertise your lessons?""I put up flyers with the location and day." You say."Flyers? I guess that's a way." They say."How would you do it then?" You ask a bit defensively."I'd be a bit...more involved. Naturally that'd involve a free demonstation in the streets. Maybe make a bit of cash off of it. Tease what they'll learn, you know?" Xin Lan says. "Of course, there's the good odd rumor here and there. You're...just too straight forward." They conclude fondly. You make a grumbling sound and say nothing. You thought your idea was good enough. An opinion you decide to voice."I think it was a good idea. It means that people who come here are serious and not just hoping for something they're not gonna get." You say."I mean you're not wrong." Xin Lan replies as they lean on your head. "But you kind of got to get an audience before you retain followers but like I said, sometimes straight forward has it's own merits. We can leave if you want. Maybe we can find another way to drum up buisness?">What do you say?>Stay here for a while longer. You set some time for aside for this so it's not like you have anything to do.>Go and find Ming. She's late. Perhaps she's busy and could use some help with whatever is holding her up.>Head into the city and follow Xin's suggestion to "drum up buisness".>Write in.
>>4895014>Stay here for a while longer. You set some time for aside for this so it's not like you have anything to do.>Ask Xin to search for Ming, just to be safe. Also they get the oportunity to tease her for lacking on her training, even though it's just this time she's late.
>>4895014>Stay here a while longer>Well if you want to be useful, how well do you think you can move in that dress? Why not a spar? It's been too long and if nothing else, it will give anyone who comes up a show.
>>4895046If this vote wins, I say to put the new chaotic mediation to test in combat.Still worried about Ming, she never misses training.
>>4895077That was also my thought. It's a good time to innovate. And if Ming STILL isn't here after our spar, we can go look for her. It's peculiar but if she has missed training it is for very good reason, and this place is perfectly safe.In fact, if it makes us feel better, we can use our spirit sense to see where she is, roughly.
Rolled 2 (1d2)It's a tie so I'm gonna roll for it.>>4895023>>4895046
I think it's a good time to figure this out as well. Do you want chaos meditation to be fighting without thinking or do you want it to be being able to see and look around you while your fighting? Here's a few suggestions that have been made.>>4875825>>4875943>>4875963
>>4895152Being able to completely focus on something else while still fighting.Or to be in a state of absolute peace while fighting, a la tigress fight.
>>4895152I mean, I personally always saw it as being able to offload our senses to the point of being able to fight without expending any thought or effort to do so.This basically allows us to talk, look around, recite poetry, meditate or whatever else while we fight.
>>4895152Fir me, both of those optio s are the same thing. To be able to instintually notice things and react while not actually paying attention ot it. To understand multiple things simultaneously.>>4895161The peace while fighting is the our new style. Chaotic meditation is a step to surpass a roadblock in it's creation.
"I think I'll wait a bit longer." You say looking up at Xin Lan. "But if you want something to do, how well do you think you can move in that dress?" You ask."Ooh big guy. Ussually we do that kind of thing without clothes." Xin Lan laughs. "But we could try it clothed if you want. I didn't know you had just dirty thoughts."You shuffle your feet uncomfortably. "You know I didn't mean that." You mumble. "Just wanted to ask if you wanted to spar.""Tai Lung. This is a nice dress." Xin Lan says flatly. "You know. The kind of clothes I don't want ruined." They say as they hop off. "Still..." They say as they undo their sash and start to undress. You quickly turn away and look straight at the tree. "...I haven't had really exercise in a while." They admit. "I guess we could go a round or two. But if my clothes go missing then I'm really going to beat you while you sleep. Now turn around, stop being a big baby. You've seen me shirtless and you've seen Stripes naked. It's not that big a deal.""Yes it is..." You reply as you can feel your face grow hot. "You better not be naked.""I'm not." Xin Lan replies huffily. You turn around, trusting your friend and find them dressed in their black sneaking suit, knives slotted into a bandoleer across their chest, their daggers hanging from their hips and you could easily guess that they had more knives hidden all over them. "So are we gonna fight or what?" They ask as they go around to pick up their cards."Yeah yeah..." You say, taking a fighting stance. "Hopefully Ming gets here soon." "Hey, Ming arriving isn't gonna stop you from losing." Xin Lan taunts. "Although having an audience would cement my victory even more. No way you can take back a loss like that.""Shush you." You say. "Last I remember, I don't think you've ever beat me.""Flukes. Each and every one of those fights." Xin Lan retorts as they stretch. "You're just really lucky.""You can say that again." You agree.>What do you do?>Focus on the defensive. Slowly ramp up the intesity. Best to ease into this.>Go at it at full force. Xin is right. Niether of you have actually had a chance to get any real exercise in a while.>Try and use your new meditation? You've never actually managed to do it at will but you guess this is a good a time as any.>Write in.
>>4895234>Try and use your new meditation? You've never actually managed to do it at will but you guess this is a good a time as any.
>>4895234>Try new meditation>Try using our "benevolent style" which we will figure out on naming later. Lets see how it works in practice against xin.
>>4895243Better to try one thing at a time, otherwise both will fail.
>>4895250Fair, if we fuck up the meditation we can recover then try the new style.Changing to solely try the new medative style
>>4895238>>4895276Gonna try and meditate. Something I need to do because i've been on the damn phone for about 2 hours. Writing.
>>4894663This is by far the dumbest way I've ever sneaked in a 9/11 joke into a thread and no one noticedNoice
>>4895401Wait, was that a fucking steel beans and jet fuel joke? You are supposed to say that it can't melt it anon.
>>4895401I mean, I saw the connection between steel and fuel. But then went 1) who the fuck would make a 9/11 joke in this thread.2) there is no meaningful comment to be made here, so why bother? But such mind of madness makes fools of the sane
>>4895403Too easy to just repeat the same thingThe basic parts are there. Fuel Steel and Melt. I wanted people to not notice it and be in line with the thread itself. TL is the beam that melted and Ren is the Jet Fuel because TL is sexually and romantically innocent and Renshu is hot. Makes perfect sense to me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯>>4895406I like making jokes, even if I'm the only one that gets it
You and Xin Lan clash as you each dash into one another. The two of you exhange blows, testing one another's defenses as you part and create space. Xin Lan flings a card at your face which you duck under and roll into a sweep, something they easily leap over. Your opponent flips over you, dropping more cards down upon you and forcing you to continue to roll. You twist out of the way and kick off from the ground as hard as you can to lauch towards the rabbit. The two of you meet once more as fists and elbows connect, attacking and blocking at the same time. You throw a punch which Xin Lan blocks before clinging to your arm and swinging on it, dragging cards along your arm to simulate cuts. You flick your arm to throw them on to the ground and follow up by slamming your heel on the ground as they move out of the way. You quickly crouch to convert your attack into a sweep which Xin Lan is forced to block head on. The impact sends them flying way but as they fly through the air, another flurry of cards comes towards your face. You use the momentum of your sweep to fall into a planking position and you swipe some of the fallen cards off of the ground. You hurl them at Xin Lan to get them to move away and use their momentum to catch them in mid air. You rush your friend down, thrusting your palm out at their head. Xin Lan ducks out of the way, your hand brushing against their ears as they dash forwards to strike you. You snap your knee up, catching the rabbit in the stomach which they use to fly up and uppercut your across the chin. The two of you stagger backwards rubbing your wounded areas before getting back into your stances. You take a deep breath and try to clear your mind and empty it while still paying attention. You had done it once before while running to your appointment. Now you wanted to see if you could put it to the test in combat. Xin Lan runs towards you, leaping from side to side and nearly vanishing from sight due to their speed. You don't try to focus on them and instead try to let your unconcious mind do it for you as you step forward and try to attack using your unconcious memory to guide your fist. You're knocked off your feet as you feel Xin Lan's foot connect with your chin only to be followed up but their other heel striking your cheek soon after in a leaping spin kick. You twist with the impact and find your self on the ground, utterly confused. "Gottcha." Xin Lan says. "Looks like someone is rusty. You doin' ok? Seemed like a pretty easy attack to dodge. Still on the whole naked me thing?" They ask as they hop from foot to foot. You get your feet, your face burning from the strikes. "Not exactly." You grunt as you rub your chin, eyes watering.
"Still wanna continue?" They ask. "Yeah." You say.>What do you do now?>Stick to being defensive. Try and figure out how you want to proceed.>Go on the offensive. You don't really want to be beat around silly.>Continue to try and use your new technique. A few scrapes and bruises never stopped you before.>Write in.
>>4895429Lesson noted. Improve more before testing.>Well Xin, let's try something special.>Move to benevolent style.
>>4895437Ie, stick to full defensive as we start to forge the connection, then let the style loose.
>>4895437Support, let's keep testing.Just hope that any prospective srudent doesn't leave if they see us lose by trying out new things.
>>4895516And if it fails, than we try to use chaotic meditation and alip into benelovent.Juat like we learn while studying it, sometimes varying your approach is how to advance.
Hey, Voice anon here. Happy to announce that the raw voice lines for the Renshu Omake are finished. We're officially at the final stretch, all I gotta do is mixing, adding in some other sounds, and it'll be ready to ship right into your earholes. Things went smoothly this time around and after taking some time for myself and also playing a lot of chivalry 2, I got all of it done in one fell swoop. As a disclaimer, I don't think that my vocal performance was as good as Renshu demands, no fault of my own just the mechanics of my own voice. But it's as good as I can get it. Keep those expectations low people, I may have tried a bit to drum up hype but I kinda do bite off more than I can chew often so there's that tidbit for ya's. See y'all again when it's officially finished.
>>4895936Later man. You may rejoin the player pool soon.>>4895519>>4895516And if this benevolent style doesn't work then obviously we just need some more refining before it is put into practice, so for that point we can drop pretenses and fight Xin normally.I've also a theory. We need our reflexes to be doing the work more and more automatically before we switch to doing it consiously.
>>4895936That's awesome anon! I'm looking forward to it.>>4895437>>4895516Gonna try to replicate what happened that night long ago. Writing.
>>4895936Don't be too hard on yourself anon, I'm sure It's going to be great no matter what.
You take your stance again, this time reaching out with your feelings for the elements and hoping that they assist with your senses. Xin Lan dashes forward and leaps to swing their leg down upon your head, you reflexively raise your hands above your head to block, pulling you out of your concentration. You shove them away and stike with your palm to maintain some distance and try to focus again. You try to remember what you did when you fought Tigress, you listen to the wind, feel the earth. You reach out and try to feel Xin Lan's feelings. It wasn't difficult. You could feel their focus, their excitement. You duck once more, still out of reflex than a warning or unconcious thought. You and Xin Lan exchange blows for a few seconds, a flurry of kicks, punches, thrown cards and dodges. Even though you can keep up and you feel that trying to sense the wind and the like help marginally, it just doesn't...click. You don't get that connection you did before. It was as if there was a disconnect. That strange feeling you get when you try to remember something and can't recall if it was a dream or reality. Perhaps it was your mindset? Or maybe your form? You're not sure."You know. If you're holding back because of this whole class thing we can just wait for some other time." Xin Lan says as they land and dust themselves off."Huh?" You ask a bit confused."Never mind." They say. "Ming's here."Ming comes up running and it takes you a bit to register that she's not out of breath. "Hey. Sorry I'm late." She says."Where have you been?" Xin Lan asks. "You're late.""Well I was doing stuff." She replies, picking up Xin Lan and snuggling them. "Where have you been?" She asks. "Trying to steal my man?""Bold of you to assume the big guy was yours to begin with." Xin Lan says. "What kind of stuff has you arrive late to your lessons?""Evil apprentice stuff." Ming replies. "I'm plotting to kill Tai Lung and you so I can be the best martial artist in China. I'll steal your techniques just by seeing them.""Liar." Xin Lan says. "Well you're late anyways. See anyone else on your way here? The big guy is all alone waiting for students.""I think I saw a few people hanging around the gate." She admits. "Not sure. I jumped the wall." She grins."Hey! I didn't teach you how to jump high and climb things just so you can abuse your skills. That's my job." Xin Lan says. "You're the responsible one we're supposed to ignore.""Well you're a bad influence." Ming replies. "So it's all your fault.">What do you say?>Ask Ming about the people at the gate. Did it look like trouble? Or maybe new comers?>Ask Ming about her "stuff". She never arrives late as far as you've seen. Maybe some academic stuff?>Find something to do while you wait a bit longer? "You said you say people at the gate? Where they new comers or was it trouble?" You ask."They were just civilians." Ming says. "Didn't seem like there was any kind of trouble.""Let's go check it out." You say and begin to walk towards the gate. "So what kind of stuff were you up to?""Wouldn't you like to know?" Ming says with a smirk. You give her a look but she remains as vague and evasive as ever."Or did you find another man to steal?" You ask."Tai Lung, really." Ming says. "How could I ever give up on you?" She says. "Besides, if I did. The only other man I'd steal is Xin.""I'm a girl." They reply."Only sometimes." Ming replies with a wink. "Also, more to the point. When can I sleep with you? Xin gets to do it all the time. I want a turn. You know they told me about you and sharing." She teases."I...never said anything on that." You stammer. "Besides, Xin sneaks into my room regardless if I tell them no. Even if I were to lock myself in a solid box, they'd find a way in.""So what you're saying is that I should just help myself." Ming says slyly. "Good to know. Especially since we share a dorm now.""Oh did you nerd out enough to join Ming?" Xin Lan asks. "Congrats. Didn't know you had it in you.""I just wrote a paper." You admit. "I only got my advancement yesterday. I still haven't moved in to my new room.""Well now I have to keep my eye on you." Xin Lan says. "Or rather, I think I'll just move in to your room. Not gonna let Ming have you all to herself.""No. You have to do this fair and square." Ming says. "I have Tai Lung all to myself through hard work. If you want to continue this race you need to advance as well.""Who needs advancement when you have skill?" Xin Lan counters. "Just keep up Ming."You sigh and hide your face as it grows red. You all arrive at the main city gates. The guards were alert as every but didn't show any sign of a disturbance. As you approach closer, you do see a few people loitering about, eye the gates every so often but not really making an attempt to cross them or leaving. It as was if they had something on their minds.>What do you do?>Ask the guards what is going on. They'd certianly know what's going on.>Ask the citizens what they're doing. We're only on week 9. Might have to start going month by month. Feels like we're going a tad slow.
>>4897777I'm afraid of going by month and skipping important things. You could try bi weekly, like you wanted to do last thread.Or maybe go by milestone, like we set a some goals, and time goes on until either an event happens or one of the objetcives is complete,so we can switch them.
>>4897820We could go by an "AP" based system if we do milestone.Something like:What is your next goal?>Advance in the Order (3 weeks)>Get to the bottom of the crocodile twin's issues (1-3 weeks depending on choices made during interaction sections)>Perfect chaotic meditation (2 months)>Eliminate your social awkwardness (80 years)

"Anything going on?" You ask the two guards as you motion to the crowd nearby. "Not really." One of the guards, a crow who you recall was named Chesa, responds. "They kind of arrived, took a peek out of the gates and then have been milling about since then. They're kind of annoying actually." She adds in a whisper."Yeah." The other guard, a cat by the name of Garab, says. "They won't really leave or exit so we're kind of just stuck here waiting for them to do something. Bet the guys up on the wall are having a laugh." He says grumpily. "Shouldn't have traded my shift for today...""Well can't you tell them to go away?" Xin Lan says from Ming's arms."We could but they're not really anything wrong and they're not obstructing traffic either. Seems like an abuse of power to be honest. Even if I didn't think it the captain would have my head for doing it." Chesa says with a sigh."Isn't it a bit early for you to be coming in?" Garab asks. "You guys usually come back in by nightfall.""We heard about the crowd and got curious." You say. "Would you mind if we talked to them? I used to work as a guard. Much smaller town but I got some experience with handling crowds and people.""We...can't really tell you no." Garab says hesitantly. "But we also can't tell you yes. Just as long as you don't cause any trouble. Guards aren't really supposed to conscript or ask civilians to do our job for us.""Hopefully you get more out of them than we did." Chesa says. "All they'll say is that they're 'just looking' or 'nothing in particular'.""Sounds like a job for us." Xin Lan says. "We have a nose for trouble.""I'm pretty sure this isn't anything like our previous adventures." Ming says."Makes sense." You say. "We won't do anything to make your jobs harder." With a nod, you make your way towards the small crowd nearby. It was a group of about 6 or 7 people from what you can see. They don't look particularly distressed or upset. They just seemed to be hanging around and trying to see busy but obviously failing. As you and your friends approach, their attention is drawn to you and they look at you expectantly.>What do you say?>Tell the group to leave. You look around to see if this was an organized group or if it was just a congregation of random people. The people kind of look around but don't really seem to give off the vibe that they're all together beyond the fact that they were all just loitering together. With no one to really confront or talk to, you simply air out the question. "So...what are you doing?"The people in the group shrug and you hear noncomittal bundles but you shake your head and point at someone in the crowd before saying, "I wasn't asking you all. I'm talking to you. What are you doing here?" The man you point out nearly jumps out of his skin and for good reason. There was purpose to the way you asked your question. Build up the groups' idea of their safety in numbers. Make them think they can hide among themselves then tear it all away when you single out a single person. Make them see that you're not afraid of their size. "Nice." Xin Lan says behind you."I...uhh....me?" The man asks."Yes." You say, maintaining a tone of professionalism. Best to show that you're not being malicious, you're just not playing their games. "What are you doing here?""I...well...I'm just hanging around, you know?" He says."No, we don't but why don't you enlighten us? Pretty boring spot to just spend your free time here." Xin Lan says, breaking down their excuses and not giving them an out.The man fidgets. "Well...I heard there was something going on?" He says trying remain vague."Such as?" You ask, pressing him for more information."Well...you know...like some guy was going to teach...martial arts lessons?" He says sheepishly. You look at the rest of the group. "Are you all here for lessons?" You ask, dragging them all into the conversation. They all look at each other as if waiting for someone else to be called out and realizing that there really was no way to avoid answering, just all nod meekly and mumble something akin to yes.
"Why didn't you come over?" Ming asks. "The lessons were supposed to be a while ago.""I mean...we kind of saw two guys fighting and well..." The man rubs the back of his neck. "Yeah...well I don't think it's for me.""Yeah. I didn't sign up to get beat around like that." Another person says."I barely know anything like that. Too advanced for me and I'm not cut out for being a guard." A third pipes up. The conversation starts to become slightly more negative as people being to air out complaints of a class they've never been too. While there's no threat of things getting out of hand, people's confidence were certainly taking a downward turn and the atmosphere was getting rather pesimisstic.>What do you say?>Say that if they don't feel comfortable then they can leave but they're really not gaining anything by standing around here nor are they losing anything by trying.>Say that's advanced stuff. The basics are far more friendly and less intimidating than they think.>Offer to show them a demonstation of basic lessons and let them decide if they want to stay.>Ask Xin to talk to these people. >>4898403>Say that's advanced stuff. The basics are far more friendly and less intimidating than they think.>Offer to show them a demonstation of basic lessons and let them decide if they want to stay.
>>4898403>Say that's advanced stuff. The basics are far more friendly and less intimidating than they think.>The friendly spar I had with my little friend wasn't part of what to be taught. Merely two martial artists that haven't seen eachother in a while exchange new styles.>One doesn't just jump straight in the deep end of a pool at first sight, isn't that right?>Do you wish for a demostrantion of what actually would be taught?>And never internalize defeat. Know your limits, but don't be slaved to them.
>>4898432I'll support. The general thrust is, "my friend and I were enjoying ourselves waiting for anyone to turn up. Given you havent spent several years training, I am not expecting or asking you to be martial masters like us."Then shift into an explanation of what we intend to teach them. Not exactly any greater time to get our thesis statement. And maybe we can spin it as "THe lesson is intended to teach you self defense and exercise, not how to punch people"
>>4898772Also we are going to teach them how to be healthier, both physically and mentally.
>>4899271Dunno about mentally. But yeah.
>>4899307It's the meditation and phylosophy part.Going by how quickly their mood changed, and how they were afraid of going in the firat place, they definitely need it.
>>4899322Their issues are with seeing the end result, then being afraid of pain.Their complaints were thus far "Saw violence, dont want to get hurt, it's too advanced"So fuck it, I am rewriting my vote.>What you just saw was the culmination of training and skill which my friend and I have spent, without exaggeration, our entire lives learning and the expression of that skill in motion. What I plan to teach is not that, you are not guards or warriors as one of you so aptly pointed out and you live in one of the safest fortresses in china. You do not need to crush stone with a punch or best an army with a mere 10 men, so this is not what I offer.>What I do offer is threefold; a means of defence, for when you are attacked and not to attack with. A means of consistent exercise, under the supervision required for you to avoid hurting yourselves through poor practice and lastly a means of confidence and contentment. Kung fu is a martial expression of philosophy and self control and self improvement and this is what I offer to teach in exchange for three things from you. Your time, respect and effort. I am not a hard man and if none of this sounds appealing then you are free to return to your day and do as you will. But if you choose to attend my lesson and choose to put the effort in, leave your doubts at the gate.>Now then, if you've nothing to lose but time, make your choice.

>>4899343That is a good write-in that explains the whole plan, but feels too confrontational, expecially the last sentence, that came off a bit agressive.I think that they aren't confident enough, got to give them a bit of motivational speech instead of presenting a challenge. The middle part is perfect though.
>>4899351Guess I am just a bit annoyed by their fear of what they have no idea entails. I could try rewriting it if you prefer.
>>4899355>>4899351I tried to mix the write-ins and add a bit of flowery speech to try and come off as a master, but also add a bit of annoyance too.>That was just two lifelong martial artist having a friendly spar, while waiting for students to appear, it was not a lesson, but an exchange of styles of two friends that haven’t seen eachother in some time. That was not what was planned to be taught, nor what was expected from beginners, after all, one doesn’t jump straight to the deep end of a lake at first sight, isn’t that right?>What I do offer is threefold; a means of defence, for when you are attacked and not to attack with. A means of consistent exercise, under the supervision required for you to avoid hurting yourselves through poor practice and lastly a means of confidence and contentment. Kung fu is a martial expression of philosophy and self control and self improvement and this is what I offer to teach in exchange for three things from you. Your time, effort, and willingness to learn. I am not a harsh taskmaster, and will not push anyone beyond what they are capable, but one must learn to respect their limits, instead of being slaved by them.> You do not need to crush stone with a punch or best an army with a mere 10 men, but to learn the stances and understand your surrounding. And if any are willing to learn, you will find that Kung Fu can be a way to have to not only have a healthier body, but also a sound mind and calm spirit. But I will not force anyone down this path, if you so desire, you can stay here at the gates, and live your life wondering what could have been.
>>4899374Replace the last bit with > You do not need to crush stone with a punch or best an army with a mere 10 men, but to learn the stances and understand your surrounding. And if any are willing to commit yourself to the attempt, you will find that the rewards will please you. That is after all why you chose to come? Because you were interested. None the less, I won't force you to attend nor shame you if you don't, I shall simply ask that if you are not interested then you go about your day rather than bother the guards on duty.

"That was just two lifelong martial artist having a friendly spar, while waiting for students to appear, it was not a lesson, but an exchange of styles of two friends that haven’t seen each other in some time. That was not what was planned to be taught, nor what was expected from beginners, after all, one doesn’t jump straight to the deep end of a lake at first sight, isn’t that right?" You say. "What I do offer is threefold; a means of defence, for when you are attacked and not to attack with. I am not a harsh taskmaster, and will not push anyone beyond what they are capable, but one must learn to respect their limits, instead of being slaved by them. You do not need to crush stone with a punch or best an army with a mere 10 men, but to learn the stances and understand your surrounding. And if any are willing to commit yourself to the attempt, you will find that the rewards will please you. Is that not why you chose to come? Because you were interested. None the less, I won't force you to attend nor shame you if you don't, I shall simply ask that if you are not interested then you go about your day rather than bother the guards on duty.""It's not so bad." Ming says. "I'm a student as well and the lessons are pretty interesting. There's more to it than just philosophy and work outs. It's weird...once you get into the swing of things, you start to wonder what else you can do. You just get into the habit of looking things in a different light. What can you do? What will you be able to do in the future? You stop seeing things as a yes or no. Things just become a matter of time for you. Whether or not you do something just becomes a matter of time rather than an impossibility.""Besides, not like you're losing out on anything anyways." Xin Lan says. "You made it this far? What's another step? All you gotta do it make it out the door and see how it goes. Despite my best arguments, the classes are free of charge."
"So what do you say? Do you wish to take that path and join my classes?" You ask. The group looks around one another sheepishly, still slightly unsure of what to do. Eventually a few get up and leave but the rest remain. Though a bit disheartened, you're glad some stayed. If things went well, the news will spread and the group will grow. If not, even teaching a handful of people was better than nothing. You lead the rest of your class, about 4 people, to the worn down training area. "Damn, my dress." My Xin Lan says, wiggling out of Ming's hold and hurrying over to pick up the nextly folded clothing. You make your way to the tree and turn your back to it. It seemed like the perfect spot to teach from."Now before we begin. As I mentioned, this class is to teach you self defense. Discard any illusions that I'll be teaching you secret techniques or ways to get back at people who wronged you. That is not what Kung Fu is about. Honor, discipline, respect. These are the tenants I want you to keep in mind when you learn. The honor to do the right thing when the time comes, even if it's as simple as helping one carry their goods home. The discipline to persist through hardship and to guide those around to as well. Respect, not just for your fellow man but for yourself. You've take a step that few in the world ever do. Where many are content to continue their lives as is, you have chosen to step away from your safe boundries to explore what you can be capable of and, I hope, acheive those goals. As I've said before, we will not shame nor disparage those who give up or cease to continue. We are not better than those who have not chosen to join us but we can hope to show them the best we can be and in turn perhaps they too will choose to try and become the best they can be.">You have 4 students. How do you want to train them? Bear in mind they are not Ming and do not have her tenacity to stick it out.>Teach them basic forms. At least give them an idea of what they'll be doing even if they don't have the physique or aptitude to do them.>Use this time to do basic workouts. Getting into simple workout habits is a good core. It develops consistency and promotes good health.>Start with meditation. Teach them what Kung Fu is really about instead of showing them. To learn to use something, one must first know what it is for.>Write in.
>>4899695>Basic workouts>"We'll start with a foundational this week. Lay a strong place to build on, so that everything which comes after is better for it. If there are any questions or you are confused as to why we are doing something then I am ready to answer as clearly as I can."
>>4899711Not too torn up about the three leaving, trim the fat as it were. While we are training them in the work outs, maybe spout some biology facts about what it does for the body. Like plank strengthening your core muscles, or push ups damaging your muscles so when they regrow they are stronger and the like. Keeps them engaged while also having something to mull over as we train with them. And I do think we should train with them, doing as they do so they know it's possible.
>>4899695>Teach them basic forms. At least give them an idea of what they'll be doing even if they don't have the physique or aptitude to do them.>The form is the basis of the Kung Fu. It's the essence of any style, a way to improve your health, and also a form of meditation should you memorise it.
Rolled 2 (1d2)>>4899711>>4899881Still a tie. Guess I'll roll for it.
You take a basic stance. "Forms are the basis of Kung Fu. It's the essence of any style and the building blocks of self defense. Not only that by they are a way to improve your health and once memorized, a way of meditation. Like walls to a home, they what give it shape and shield you. For today, we will go through a few basic forms. I don't expect you to preform these flawlessly but I want to give you an idea of what we will be doing. I won't lie to you, there will be days we will forgo forms and focus on other things such as working out. A healthy body is only as good as a healthy mind so we will also be spending some days meditating as well.""Meditating? Why?" One of the group members asks. "How's that gonna be any help?""Kung Fu is a tool. It is a versatile one for sure but it is a tool nonetheless. By meditating we explore what our tenants are as I've explained them. On paper it seems simple. Honor, discipline, respect. But we are all old enough to know that the world is not as simple as that. By meditating we learn what our tools are used for, their purpose, their limits. After all, how can anyone be expected to use a tool or follow a code of conduct if we don't know what they are. Wisdom and intellect are key in anything and I won't fail you by neglecting to impart that on you." You explain as you stand upright. "Now I understand that there is some apprhension and nervousness so let's get into a basic routine. Once we're done, I'll answer any questions you might have." You line everyone up so you can get a better view, save for Xin Lan and Ming, and begin to show them a few forms. You focus mostly on stances and basic transitions. Nothing that they could use at the moment but ones that were common enough that you hope they could recognize later on in their training and build off of. It goes about as well as you hope. Everyone's posture and positioning is downright terrible as you expected but that is what you were here for. You take your time with each step, walking around and adjusting their limbs as you remember your father doing for you when you were a child. With every new form, you show an example of it often times bringing in Xin Lan to hold the position for you as you explain it's purpose and use. You can't really go through many things as you don't have much time left but you think you showed enough to be comfortable with. As the sun begins to set as early as it always does, you stop the lessons for questions."So...are we doing this every week?" One of them asks. "What's the schedule?"
>What do you say? How often do you plan to hold these classes?>Say once a week. (It won't impact your current schedule but you also won't be able to teach much witheverything else you have around)>Say you'll hold classes at least twice or three times a week. (You can get some decent lessons and practice in but it'll eat up some of your time. Things will take about 50% longer to learn or get done now that you have less time on your hands.)>Say you'll be holding a lesson nearly every day or all week. (Your students will defintely make progess quicker but now you can only do 1 thing per week along with Ming's training. Things will take at least twice as long to learn or get done now that you're spending a considerable ammount of time dedicated to lessons.)>Write in.
>>4900069>I understand that many of you have lives outside of this, things like jobs and responsibilities and hobbies you like to enjoy. What would work best for you four? I'm fairly flexible in my schedule, so whatever suits the group best for now is fine, since it's as small as it is. (Customized scheduled, to maximize student turnout/retention for the current group)
>>4900127I'll support, can't have our students miss out on their work and family to train. They probably can only spare one or two days a week. Shame that since we teach outside the walls, it has to be before dark, a 2 hours training in the end of every day would be the best.

"I understand that many of you have lives outside of this, things like jobs and responsibilities and hobbies you like to enjoy. What would work best for you four? I'm fairly flexible in my schedule, so whatever suits the group best for now is fine, since it's as small as it is." You ask as you all begin to get ready to leave. The group seems unsure and you all spend a few minutes swapping schedules and routines before you can finally get something down. Because of everyone's schedules, you will be teaching the class 2 or 3 times a week and not with everyone present. At the way, it's managed you'll have at least at least 2 or three people on average and 1 at worst if no one else comes for a second lesson. Not exactly what you wanted but you hope that at least serves their needs."Are you sure about this?" Ming asks once again as your new students leave."Not for nothing, but I'm kind of with Ming on this one. They kind of gave you the short end of the stick." Xin Lan says. "Probably should have made them make a comittment to a certain day or something.""It'll be fine." You say. "Classes are built around when they have free time. They have their own lives too and with so many days, hopefully it gives more chances for others to join.""Yeah, that's kind of the thing. People tend to go to things when they have to make the time. It's a cost to them and so they want to make the most of it." Xin Lan says as they leap on your back. "When they say they'll so something when they don't have anything to do then it's just kind of a thing you made half a commitment to right? Kind of like when you say you'll go eat out on your day free and then you kind of realize you're not in the mood.""I don't see it like that." You say. "I think it's another test of their comittment. They came for one class but will the continue to come? If they don't then I'll simply start to remove the days they said they would and cut them out of the classes. Plus each day has at least 2 people there. So if someone doesn't come then the other will know and no one wants to be outed so when they realize both I and their peer will notice their absence then they'll probably come just to not be pointed out. You saw how they were in a crowd.""Yeesh, you're a monster." Xin Lan says patting your head and playing with your ear. "Pitting them against their own minds like that. I'm proud of you.""Still, I'm worried about you're time." Ming says. "You're taking on a lot of work. Teaching is a big comittment and you want to do all these other things.""I'll be fine Ming." You say. "I promise. If things start to get a bit overwhelming then I'll scale back." Ming says nothing but remains unconvinced."Well, instead of arguing. How about you show me to your room?" Xin Lan asks you."No." Both you and Ming say."That's sounds like a challenge." Xin Lan grins.>Week 9. 43 weeks remain.>Which do you want to do first before we end the week?>Visit the spirit realm.>Ming's training.

While you're waiting for your appointment regarding your paper and with the bunnies and Ming busy at the moment, you decide to do some actual meditating and vist the spirit realm as you ussually do when you have nothing else to do. You find a nice quiet roof in the city to sit on to focus your mind and try to......find yourself in Shenlong's home. You don't even remember closing your eyes before you're suddenly aware you're no longer in the city. Perhaps you blinked and that was enough. You pick yourself up from the ground having realized you've fallen on your back. As always, you feel the wind, not as a breeze or anything physical but as it's basest form and element. The trees around the clearing rustle and move despite there being no actual breeze as the spirits and sprite stirr and move around lazily. You wander around, now seeing a large waterfall that flows into a lake behind the statue of Shenlong. You approach the towering statue, it's stone polished and well kept no doubt due to Bao's care, and see three objects at it's base. A fan, a well polished orb, and a familiar painting encased on beautiful gemstone. You crouch a bit to look at them for a moment before looking around the clearing. It was empty and you frown. Bao was probably out doing some of her duties right now. It was always hard to figure when to arrive considering how time moved differently here. You wander around and find a few things that mark Bao's inhabitance. A large marble table with stools to match, an empty plate here and there, and ,surprisingly, a few paint brushes and an easel with a canvas. You examine the canvas and see a splotch of purple with orange and green streaks. You're not really sure what to make of it. Perhaps it was some kind of dragon artifact or maybe a spirit of sorts?Still, it seemed that Bao was keeping herself busy. You straighten up and wander back to the center, wondering what to do.>What do you do?>Wait. Maybe Bao will arrive eventually.>Talk to some of the spirits and sprites around here.>Explore. Alright we're at the 0 hour. The Renshu Omake is finished! Here it is!https://vocaroo.com/1fVYs43W0kW2And a sorta afterword, unscripted and unedited as fuck mind you, be warned. Where I give y'all a small sorta talk on what I'll be making after this, among other stuff that came to my mind afterwards, as well as some introductions. So ya don't have to keep calling me voice anonhttps://vocaroo.com/1kM8mt5gC8gII'll see y'all next time I'm finished with something or if I need to clarify something for y'all, or just shoot the shit auditorially. Keep safe and have a good one!
>>4901802Holy shit my man, that's cool as hell. Not exactly the voice I considered and the pausing seems a bit off with how assured Renshu usually is. Otherwise, nitpicks aside, solid 9/10, couldn't have done it better.
>>4901962https://voca.ro/14F7846viCdT
>>4901802Holy shit my guy. I can't wait to listen to this once I'm free. If it's not too much to ask for, could we also have the script as well just to have both parts of the set? Unless it's way too large to organize. I know all my notes are all over the place on various different files.
>>4902069Just straight up as text?Yeah sure fuck it, I wrote all of it down in a note taking app for ease of reading as I did my lines. But I'll just throw that in a pastebin. Here, go hog wildhttps://pastebin.com/Q4VNxZ1m
>>4902126I will point out that you're a braver man than I. I get squeamish just thinking of putting my voice out there then again I hate my voice so there's that. I'll stick to written words. I seem to be half decent at that at least.
>>4901141>>4901192So we got a kind of tie. Anyone want to break it or should i just roll for it?
>>4902354Put me down for visiting Oogway. Shenlong might be busy with important dragon business.

You decide that with no one around at the moment, you should try and explore Eureka once more. You step into the forest surrounding the clearing and move onwards. The spirits of the area float around you at a distance, keeping watch and eyeing your curiously as you traverse the island. https://youtu.be/fJpp-Uj3c64Eventually, though the trees never thin nor give way, you find yourself at the edge of the island and see the expansive sea of clouds you once called home. You pause to take it all in once more. There was always something enthralling about the view as you can see farther than you ever could back in the realm of the living. You take a deep breath, or did you simply imagine that you did, and leap as far as your legs could take you. There's still the same exhiliration of being able to go all out when moving without fear of running into someone else or another structure. You land and roll as you feet another island and you transition into a run. You run for days, months even, as you leap, swim, and climb towards your goal. Can't help but wonder how much time as passed back home and how it corolates to time here but it's after about 3 months of nonstop running that you realize you're not limited in distance as you are back home nor does the unfamiliar terrain seem to hinder you. Your memory is of little use here as the islands have seemingly shifted and moved with the unseen currents of the sea and yet it feels like deep in your soul you know you way around this world. As if it's locations call to you, are imprinted in your very soul, or perhaps you are merely beckoning the location to you. Finally, after what felt like nearly 5 months of travel you come across a building both familiar and unfamiliar to you. Oogway's hut no longer stands in this small little island he once called home. Instead stands what seems to be a rather large home. Built with multiple rooms and a small garden. You leap down onto a clear area and explore a bit. You find a that a small fountain and pond was there too with a few water sprites splashing about and oblivous to the fact that it's someone e
