You don't even know how the two of them started to wear the head wear either. Could it have been the work of your three daughters with human forms? Could they perhaps have not wanted the two of them to miss out on being able to play dress-up? The ribbon you suppose makes some sense, as it's clearly supposed to be a hair ornament, but you have no idea how they managed to find a tiny fox pup sized hat for Tetsuka. Just how much assorted articles of clothing did your workers bring you? Did they really think that you'd have a use for a tiny hat like that? Well, you did have a use for the tiny hat, so... well you can't complain too much about your money being wasted. It's not really like you care either. With your current investments and lined-up projects, your money will only multiply over the next few years. The title of World's Richest Man is one that you'd naturally end up claiming in a couple of years at most. You simply can't spend your money faster than you earn it, not unless you started doing truly frivolous stuff.

You pet the snake and the fox a little bit, before you turn to your daughters and pat each of them on the head, earning happy smiles from your three daughters in exchange for the affectionate action. "Girls, can you all head to the dining hall now? I need to stay here and wait for the guests to arrive, there's a special table just for the children." You tell the five of them to go to the dining hall. Everyone else in the house should be slowly being filtered inside of that area now, but it's up to you to greet the guests as they arrive. "I love you." You remind the girls of your love to them as you tell them to go meet up with everyone else.

"OK, father, we love you too." Betty takes the lead this time, leading her siblings away from you and deeper into your house. Watching the girls walk away, you lean against a wall, waiting for the first group of guests to arrive. It doesn't take long for somebody to show up, and you spring up from your slouched position as you feel the bounded fields ping with activity. A group of four is approaching your home. You don't have the bounded fields take any sort of action as you wait for the group to make their way to your door.

There's no knock from the door, as the approaching party simply pushes their way in. There stands Waver Velvet, looking far more weary and haggard than he usually does, which is an impressive feat for him, considering just who he is. "Sorry for not knocking, I felt like if we weren't welcome, those bounded fields you've got up would've made it quite obvious." Waver reveals his reason behind not knocking, and you don't really care about it anyway. It's not like it would've served any purpose other than to make a loud noise. You knew he was there, and he knew you knew he was there at the same time. Behind Waver, you can see the curious face of Reines El-Melloi Archisorte, who is looking around the lobby with interest.

"So, this is what the home of your Japanese Friend looks like, elder brother?" The girl asks the older man, her curiosity getting the better of her. "He doesn't talk about you very much, you know? In fact, he'd usually try to keep you a secret entirely!" Well, you do appreciate Waver at least caring about not letting any information slip out about you, but it seems that even for somebody as careful and intelligent as him, Reines managed to pry at least a little bit of information out of him. Behind Reines you can see an interested looking girl with blonde drills looking around your lobby, seemingly impressed at the wealth on display before her eyes fix upon you and narrow, as if she'd just seen an old nemesis or something. Finally, the last member of the small group enters, and you see Kairi Sisigou enter. His face almost an emotionless mask as he looks around the room. You can't see his eyes through those sunglasses that he's wearing, though his body language shows you that he's on edge.

"Good evening, Lord El-Melloi! I see you brought your entourage with you." You smile affably at the group as they enter your home, first turning your attention to Reines. "You must be Lady Reines, I've heard quite a bit about you, all of it good, I assure you." You keep smiling as the girl turns to look at you instead, as if trying to get an idea on just what sort of a person you are. You then proceed to turn to look at Luvia. "Ah! Miss Edelfelt! I wasn't expecting you to show up, you're looking just as beautiful as you were when we first met." The narrowed eyes of the girl widen in surprise as you throw her off of her guard with a flirtatious compliment. Finally, you turn your attention to the last member of the group. "You must be... Kairi, was it? I've heard about you." You frown a little as you look at the tragic freelancer.

Alright then, full honesty. I've been here since pretty much the beginning, I was in the /a/ Shinji Isekai threads that WhatIs made before starting the quest. I was one of the people voting against running away with Monica, I was one of those who restrained us from hugging Sakura when we first saw her and I was pretty happy the first thing we did was to go back to her and try to cheer her up in the mall. But I never expected the Sakura route to really happen, there was too much opposition for a romantic relationship for a lot of reasons. I mostly lurked, participated in the plans a bit, and didn't really think of what might be in terms of romance. But yes, I've played Hollow Ataraxia. I always knew that a supposed Sakura route would eventually come with Medusa as a bonus, but this was different in my eyes. Medusa places Sakura above herself, and I see that as acceptable. Perhaps calling myself a monogamyfag is a bit of a misnomer, but I would have honestly preferred a monogamy romance with anyone over the harem we've ended up getting. Even if this wouldn't be Sakura.

Dragon Core was bound to happen, it was one of the core ideas proposed in the /a/ threads, but the Dragon Core ritual coming with a dragon daughter was literally unthinkable before it happened. And for the brief moment after Medea got a dragon daughter and before Alitheia saw Sakura as her mother too, I was one of the people pushing for Medea monogamy. Alitheia's two mothers was what convinced me that WhatIs was a haremfag, much before he admitted it, and what got me to start raging against the heavens for this.

And I see the danger of igniting another Waifu War but I said full honesty and I'm not taking that back. So, I don't really agree that the "gotta catch 'em all" position is a beacon of hope. Pretty much the opposite. I see it as a beacon of despair. As that Marie Antoinette anon said when someone recommended we summon her and waifu her, and he'll always have my respect for that, "being part of a 20 girl harem is just sad". Love may arguably be limitless, but time is finite We eventually have to start putting girls in a box like the pokemon you caught just to fill the pokedex and never put in your team. I know it'll probably come out as hypocritical of me to want to deny others their wish now that I've gotten mine, but I really don't understand the appeal of advocating for your waifu to become #10 or 20 in the harem. I know I wouldn't be calling for Sakura to be included if she was to be girl #10. I would see it as taking advantage of her issues in order for us to coom in more pussy and fill our pokedex, and that would be just sad.

I won't vote against a girl who says she loves us and accepts that raw deal, and it is very much a raw deal for them. We've already agreed we won't. But I still cannot understand the appeal. And I am still expecting that girls will start rejecting the deal at some point. That's the normal response to a harem situation.

There is a difference between being a Saver and encouraging romance. The lines here are blurred, admittedly, because WhatIs has been a haremfag all along, but having 90% of the girls you meet fall head over heels for you approximately 5 minutes after you've met them is far from normal. As for the alternative being killing people, that's just a copout. Romantic love isn't a necessary result, it needs to be encouraged. And both the haremfag anons and WhatIs have done a lot to encourage it, beyond and above just being a saver.

You look at the four new arrivals, your expression one of sympathy for the four of them. They've not been in town for long, and already they've gone through a lot. It's hard not to feel sympathy towards them, and you also want to make things a little easier on them as well, though that can wait.

"Well we're not dead, so that's a plus. Though I'd be much more comfortable if I knew where Gray and Flat had gotten off to..." Waver frowns a little, that's to be expected, as a teacher, it's only natural for Waver to wonder just where his students are, and if they are safe or not. You aren't especially worried for Flat or Gray though, both of them are strong enough that they should be able to fend for themselves, and you'll go looking for the two of them properly tomorrow anyway.

"Don't worry, we'll find Gray and Flat, I'll have my Casters start looking for them after the feast and making sure that they're fine." It's not work if you're having somebody else take care of things for you, is it? You don't think that Sakura or Medea would take umbrage to you wanting to make sure that the two were fine. They want you to stop stressing yourself and overworking, and not knowing if a friend of yours is in mortal peril or not isn't really good for dealing with stress. "Other than that though, there are no injuries that need to be taken care of?"

"Not really, we managed to escape unscathed from last night." Waver doesn't sound happy about the reminder of last night, and you don't really blame him for it. An entire faction worth of Servants being basically wiped out in a single attack without even getting to do anything should be enough to make anybody mad, not with anger, but with frustration. The fact that the enemy he is going to have to help against is great enough that even over half a dozen Servants weren't able to do anything against an attack that wasn't even directed at them!

"Well, what about you, Kairi?" You turn to the sunglasses wearing man, who starts a bit as you turn to him. "That curse of yours, would you like it removed?" You ask the man without hesitating, already planning to make good usage of Chiyome's anti-curse nature. With her abilities, clearing that curse lingering on his bloodline would be quite simple.

"I'm sorry, what...?" The man takes a step back, surprised at your sudden offer. You don't blame him, it's quite the odd thing to do, to immediately offer to break a curse that has plagued his family for generations on your first meeting with him, but that's just the sort of person you are.

"I meant what I said, I'm aware of the tragic curse laid upon the Sisigou family, and I believe that I have a method to break that curse." Well, you know for a fact that the curse will powerlessly erode into nothingness the moment that Chiyome touches Kairi, but you don't want to project that much confidence here, otherwise it would look just a little bit too suspicious.

"How can you be so sure that your method will work?" Kairi questions you, but that's something to be expected too, it's obviously going to be pretty difficult to trust somebody immediately like this. Especially with matters as delicate as Kairi's curse. It wasn't exactly a life-changing curse like something like Medea's curse of love, or the general horrible experience that Orochi's curse was, but for Kairi, the curse had ruined his entire life. Being the reason he couldn't have children and so something that would naturally mean the end of his family. Him losing his step-daughter due to a botched Crest Transplant procedure was entirely due to the curse.

"Well, the curse-breaker in question has both broken a Goddess' curse of love, as well as extracted a goddess possessing a body without causing the host body any lingering harm." You give Kairi a brief overview of just what Chiyome has managed to accomplish, and it's very clear to you that the man is surprised by your claims.

"Then if you think that your friend can do it, feel free to have them try. Though I'm not holding out hope here, you'll understand." Kairi doesn't seem to have any objections to at least trying whatever you suggest and you smile.

"Wonderful. Give me a moment." You tell the man to wait for a few seconds as you reach out on the link your share to Chiyome. 'Chiyome, can you come here for a moment? I have a task that only you can do' You inform the ninja girl of the situation, and after waiting for fifteen seconds, she appears, almost as if by magic. Her speed is only surpassed by her loyalty, it seems. You hope that she's going to be happy to be able to sit at your table at the feast, she deserves it after all. In fact, you wish you could do more to repay her loyalty to you, but something tells you that if you asked if she wanted anything from you, she'd just give some sort of non-answer like 'nothing would please me more than the continued opportunity to serve you'.

"My lord, what is it you wish me to do?" Chiyome kneels in respect to you, and you gesture at Kairi.

"That man has a curse, can you break it?" You keep your request short, and Chiyome simply nods, before moving towards Kairi and touching him once.

"There, it is done, the curse is removed." Chiyome doesn't take more than half a second before determining that the curse that had plagued Kairi and caused his life to end up in such a tormenting situation was gone. She then proceeds to stand by your side, happy to have been of use to you. You mindlessly pat the top of her head in silent praise.

"Do you feel any different?" Kairi seems to be looking a little shaken up, more so than he was when he first arrived, at least.

The man says nothing, instead, he just takes a cigarette out of his pocket, lights it up, and steps outside for a moment. You'd consider it to be a rude action, but Kairi is one of those people who would prefer not to show that much emotion in front of other people. While Kairi had already given up on ever being able to have children of his own, the breaking of his curse has effectively opened that potential to him. Though his true wish is to get his step-daughter back, and without Rin snatching her from a parallel timeline where she's about to go through with the ritual or something, that's not happening... Well, it's not like there's not any reason to at least try to have Rin attempt something like that at some point in the future. She's already shown her proficiency in saving other Rins from guaranteed lethal situations.

With Kairi out of the room, you turn your attention to Reines, and take a grave tone. "Lady Reines, I feel obliged to warn you that your Mystic Eyes might be a problem at this feast. Your sensitivity to magic could cause you to have a negative reaction to your surroundings." You calmly make an observation. "Which is why I want to know if you'd like to borrow a pair of Mystic Eye Killers for tonight, to prevent something like that from happening."

"Mystic Eye Killers...? Aren't those supposed to be ridiculously expensive?" Wait, are they? You kind of thought that they were easy to get a hold of, considering that in Hollow Ataraxia, Rider manages to get two pairs to use. "Even the El-Melloi couldn't find somebody willing to sell a set to them!" Oh, so they are aware that Reines would be better served by wearing a set of the glasses? At least they aren't completely clueless as to her well-being. "If you're offering, I won't say no..."

"Great!" You smile at the girl, who looks a little uncomfortable with the strange greeting that she is being given. 'Medusa, could you come to the lobby?' You speak through the Tamamo sticker, and all you need to do is wait and the woman will make her arrival. 'I need to borrow your Mystic Eye Killers for somebody else, just for the night, the girl with the blonde hair.' It wouldn't be very fair on Reines if she was forced to be at risk of having her eyes combust, would it?

'I'm on my way, Shinji.' Medusa gives you a quick notification that she did indeed hear your request.

"Just a moment, the person with them will be with us shortly." You smile at Reines once again, before you turn to Luvia. "It's been a while, hasn't it? I remember that sparring match that we promised one another a few years ago, and... well, I'll be happy to oblige, but it will have to wait until tomorrow, OK?" You inform the drill haired girl that you hadn't forgotten the promise that you made to her after thrashing her in a fight all those years ago.

"Well, I hope you've been training since that day, Shinji." Luvia crosses her arms. "I wouldn't want to defeat you too easily." The girl seems confident in her abilities, and you wonder just how poorly she took her loss to you all that time ago. She's probably just being overconfident in herself again. It's at this moment that Medusa arrives, and rather awkwardly hands Reines the pair of glasses, you don't know why, but it seems like Medusa didn't really enjoy having to part with the spectacles. Odd.

With the brief distraction from Medusa dealt with, you turn to Luvia. "I can assure you that you won't be beating me, Luvia." You say with confidence, before you turn back to Waver again. "There's something I'd like to talk to you in depth about Waver, you and Reines, actually. It's about your Servant from the last war, and... Well, it can wait for tomorrow, today, I just hope that you can enjoy the festivities. Now, shall we be heading to the dining hall?" You have Chiyome go fetch Kairi and bring him back with you, and while the man had seemingly been crying, nobody brings it up. You don't take long to lead them all to the dining hall and direct them to their seats, most everyone else is already at the hall, with the exception of a few missing guests that have yet to arrive. Though the very moment you finish leading Waver and his group to the hall, you can feel your bounded fields ping again. It's a group of five, Jason and his allies, you imagine.

Yes, I was the primary objector. No, it was not because I wanted it to be special. It was perfectly in-character, perfectly justified, and in accordance with similar situations in the vns. That's why I had to relent eventually. I could not oppose something so perfectly justified forever.

My real objection was the reason I'm doing it all: Sakura's smile. I feared the long-term consequences. You were proposing a Sakura route lock for power gaming. Anons would support it for powergaming reasons, as it happened. And I was SURE they would completely ignore that it happened, or try to take it back because they DIDN'T really want a Sakura route lock. You just dangled a big enough carrot in front of them to get them to accept it. And trying to take it back would hurt her much, much more than never confessing to her in the first place.

My meltdown over Vritra was because of that. We had just confessed to Sakura. We had not mentioned anything about a harem to her, she thought that her dream came true and her hero was hers and hers only. And the MOMENT we got out of her sight we got a new girl to fall for us, partly because of your other autistic write-in. No one cared we had confessed, people were joking about this hurting Sakura, and WhatIs's kiss of true love in her charsheet was the final straw. Vritra refusing to take advantage of us like we would have certainly had if the situation was reversed was a huge part of the reason I warmed up to her.

I only became more and more certain for most anons it was as if the confession never happened as time went by. I proposed us kissing Sakura in celebration after we killed grandpa. It was literally the perfect moment, and it was shot down harshly. Anons didn't want to kiss the girl we supposedly loved because it MIGHT upset the other pokemon they wanted to add to the pokedex, even if they weren't around. Confession meant nothing, as I expected.

After we collapsed and woke up, Sakura greeted us at the door. We were in a corridor, alone with her and our kids. Again I proposed that we kiss her. WhatIs CONFIRMED that we were alone in the corridor. And the kiss to the girl we supposedly love was AGAIN rejected, because someone might be spying on us, because someone might walk around the corner, because Satsuki might be in the next room and hear us tell Sakura we love her. I became 110% convinced that the confession meant precisely jack shit to just about anyone other than me, as I had always suspected it would. And that was the moment I decided to propose we resolve the shinjibowl and ACTUALLY start kissing the girl(s) we supposedly love. And if that hadn't happened, if we were still stuck in the "oblivious teasing manwhore" phase even after confessing I would have dropped the quest right there and then. It wouldn't have been worth it to continue being frustrated.

Because let me tell you, an easy cheat solution to the harem mess would be one of the few things that would get me to drop the quest. Honeymoon phase is real, continued relationships take actual work which is really cringe sometimes, but everything in life is a balance between safety and freedom. If you bind yourself to someone you're safer, but you also cut yourself off from other experiences. Playing musical chairs as you age can be a real risk though, there might not be a place for you when the music stops. That's pretty much my point, yes. I knew the audience, I knew how they'd react, and that's why I objected to us confessing to Sakura back then. People don't care about IC, and will rarely vote for IC when it comes against what they want.

And I know you don't care about the romance stuff and you want to skip them. It's become more than obvious today. You see the relationships and emotional connections as means to an end, with combat victory as that end. And I see it the opposite. The relationships are the goal, combat is just in the way. We are diametrically opposed in this, and a huge reason behind many of my objections to your plans. Infinite time means infinite opportunity to fulfil obligations to others, remember in story we're only a few days or even hours into our interactions with some characters, so it's not exactly unheard of to put off their resolutions for days, if not weeks as we uhh, save reality? Was it? Also as time goes on the toolkit becomes more equipped and we can use one character's niche to solve another's problem at near no cost. The Council of El are 12 great dragons that were given providence over the planet and tend to appear high up in each texture's pantheon. YHWH is the highest among the council, I'd probably put Tiamat at #2. Quetz would be up there, then you've got all the rest of unspecified tier like the Demiurge, Leviathan, Jormungandr, Typhoon and all the rest, and their children etc. Seraph/ANgels could have been redescribed in other textures as their lesser but still high tier dragons like Orochi for example.
