You are Kolinasi, Keiko Whatiri. Son of Ravi. Friend of the islands. Enemy of slavers. Slayer of monsters, friend of machine spirits and Big Man of the islands. And while it is known to you, that you are a primarch, it is yet unknown that you are one of twenty, and the leader of the eleventh legion. Much knowledge of your origin from a planet called ‘Terra’ would come from the pod you rode in on that changed the course of radioactive hurricane- one that would ultimately change your fate in more ways than one.
While you grew up on the island you helped your tribe and people in fishing and gathering any treasures from wrecks you could find. These would be gifts, used to not only affirm your status as a big man, but also help other people and provide for your family.
During the first day of your seventh year you would complete your trials in a day- and ascend to big man after slaying a powerful Sea Monster- The Big Boy and defeating your uncle in single combat faster than you could perform a simple Haka. On the eve of this celebration, before your family friend, Jera-Jero Avidullah, could help show you the ways of privateering and the sea, Sea witches would come to take you to see if an obscure prophecy was true.
This would come from the tests of the crone mother of witches- who would strike at you with lightning and test your wit. Your wit did not fail you, and the lighting did not harm you. This lead the Crone Mother deciding to form an alliance with you and your people.
This would come in the form of your Honor Guard, four warrior witches who had aptitude, bravery, and a keen spirit similar to yours. This partnership would also come in the form of the Crone Mother, leader of the witches offering up her daughter to your tribes to find a husband. This diplomatic movement would seal a peace between your people.
During this process you discovered, underneath a stonehall structure, a repair facility for ancient tech, a submersible vehicle, and to your surprise, knights. A full seven ancient knights that seem usable and ready to go. However, you also discovered a thief, who was attempting to steal a fighter craft from the stone hall. During this time, you were able to trick the thief, who you eventually won to your side, to put you in the brig, where you liberated many slaves, some from different worlds. With this liberation, you were able to overthrow the crew, and having mastered how fast you can truly move, kill the Ganth Slavers.
Shortly after, you named the ship that you have captured- ‘Something Fierce’ and have chosen the colors that will be raised for the ship. With this you have swam out to the furthest isle, near the old man, to perform the ceremony for the ship.
>>

To many, those who aren’t from the islands, and to be true- many islanders-- the Haka is a war dance. The Haka is a ceremony. It can be a celebration of life, a dance of death, a wedding ceremony, a challenge for manhood, a coming of age. The Haka tells a story through motion, through action. When a Haka is performed you are speaking the language of the Mana itself. The Mana of your people.
You close your eyes and you feel the air and energy around you and feel out to the Ship. Something Fierce.
In through your nose.
“The Ocean and Moon in Harmony Move.” You breath out, spreading your legs with a slight clap, your sense are extended enough you can hear the echo of the clap from the ship. You pick up the sand from the ground and extend left as the motion of the tide.
“The People and Ocean act in harmony, moving together with the seasons.” You say slightly louder as you let the sand fall from your palm and you step to the edge of the island letting the water touch your feet. You breath in again.
“One Ship Taken, can change everything, as one man can move a world.” You say louder your voice coming out with the breath
“One Ship, One Something Fierce, One will rise up against those who despoil and enslave.” You say your voice becoming louder, as you can feel the mana from the ship, despite it being a bit far off. You move with purpose, both feet in the water as you breath in again.
“As this ship rises so too shall the people like the tide! For a Free world!” You let out loudly and a ripple from where you stomp becomes like a wave, that slaps the side of the ship.
“I do name this and mark this ship Something Fierce! I cleanse it of it’s misdeeds and past with this Haka as the water runs of it, let it cleanse it!” You say as you splash a great amount of water with some mighty effort that reaches the ship and runs off it. You can feel the ship. Your Haka is done.
>>
>>4766688
As you step back the old man puts a hand to your shoulder and motions down to his laboratory. You follow him down quickly.
“I have made various constructions for you before you go. Some tools, some weapons and some instruments- all from the black tree you gave me. It should be good for your crew and service you well.” He says gesturing with an extended hand to the stockpile of things that have a more tribal flare, yet look incredibly advanced.
“Thank you old man.” You say
“One last thing. The business of the pod. I understand that you wish to take it with you. This is good. Your pod will be more defended on that ship, and I have all the defensive schematics I need from it.” The old man says.
“However, I cannot be everywhere at once. Many islands will need that information. I suggest you take some data slates with you- and share them with the islands you go to. That way you are able to utilize the pod to it’s fullest.” The old man says pointing to a box full of data slates
“And if I run out?” You ask
“Ah. I can make em. Once you get rolling on them dumper wastes and we get recycling we can build our own.” He says.
Once you take the pod and the box out, Jera Avidullah has arrived with your crew on the island, and various boats.
“We need to set up the Account before we go out. We have to vote for Quartermaster, as everyone already voted you captain.” Jera says.
Among the crew, you see those you liberated, your uncle and cousin- along with the woman you saw who would be your Aunt’s sister, your honor guard and a few islanders you recognize.
“This as many as we can take?” You ask
“Lad for a boat that big? We are gonna need a lot of crew. We stop at the witches island to get more.”
“Who writes the contract?” You ask and Jera passes you a pen and paper.
>>
>>4766690
Well Captain Kolinasi, what is your contract?
> The contract is based on merit alone, everyone gets an equal share save in specific and extraordinary circumstances where someone acts alone to get loot or gather something
> The standard contract Captain gets 1.5, Quartermaster Gets 1.5, Doctor gets 1.25, Mechanic/Carpenter gets 1.25 and the rest of the crew gets an equal share and equal picking
> A contract based on experience, those with more experience get a slightly bigger share, skill develops, share develops- even including you.
> A compact. Ask the people who join you what they feel is fair and develop the contract.
> Risk and reward. Those who do more, earn more of a share with everyone having a baseline amount.
> Write in

Next you must pick a mandate once you have toured the islands and done fortifications. You may only pick one mandate.

>Actively hunt slavers and dumpers while preparing for them

>Loot and Recycle what the dumpers leave for fortifications and defenses

>Seek out additional allies and establish trade

>Build, ships and scout craft and establish a ship yard

> capture raiders and others who aid the slavers to gather intelligence

>Training, for the islanders and your allies, their knowledge of warfare is tactical in the form of excellent fighting style at best, playing at warfare at worst

>Write in

Pick a side project for you, just one.

> Mastering your skills and yourself through martial disciplines and training with help from your uncle and honor guard

> Learning as much as you can in order to better your people and yourself via your pod, and the off worlders

> Becoming a good captain and pilot through Jera learning the ways of the sea and steel

> Keeping your promises, repairing the ship and upgrading it using your abilities to communicate with the machine spirit and help from Nasi and Meera

> Trying to find more knights or other more powerful tools utilizing the scout ship and coordination with Karlan Stonewright

> Write in

Finally pick just one specialization you would like your honor guard to try

> Have them learn to pilot and master the strike craft so that way they can defend the people and you more efficiently and scout ahead

> Have them learn more about technology and machines so they can help with building and defeating certain technologies

> Have them study yours, and others cultures so they can blend in anywhere and be incredible at gathering intelligence

> Increased combat focus so that their skills in combat may become the thing of legend

> Keep them learning varied topics and as much as you can from the pod amd data slates so they can be of help to all people

> Write in
>>
> The standard contract Captain gets 1.5, Quartermaster Gets 1.5, Doctor gets 1.25, Mechanic/Carpenter gets 1.25 and the rest of the crew gets an equal share and equal picking

I love the artwork you guys bring in. I think by the fourth chapter we will have enough noble bright space and paradise art for it to be used for what's coming.

>The contract is based on merit and skill, the key positions earn more because of their importance, but adjusted on how well they do their role. Same goes for the rest of the crew, the better they earn the same unless they go above and beyond.

>>
>>4766749
Fuck, I meant to say that the better they do, the more they earn, but in most cases it will mean going above and beyond.
>>
>>4766749
And your honor guard option friend?
>>
>>4766753
It's an interesting concept considering the amount I have studied on the golden age of piracy and what a normal account looks like.
>>
>>4766754
>Have each of them improve further in their expecializations. The scientific minded shall study machinary and the slates, the combat-like shall improve their skill, the pilot shall learn to fly the strike craft, and the diplomatic will learn of their ways.
I forgot which witches is each, but I voted for a cohort of varied skill so they could complinent each others strengths, and cover theirs weakness, so I want to expand on that by specializing them individually even further.
>>
>>4766758
I don't know much about that, but each ship and captain ran a bit different from one another right? I want to go for our lead by example speech we gave basically.
>>
>>4766697

Here's everything into a combined, single vote, just in case it makes it easier for you to follow old man.
>>
>>4766772
Yes. Captains write each contract different, and each ship is run as the captain says.

Since we are going by pirate law, the captain is elected and most decisions are democratic except when it comes to rationing and battle, in which case the captain and Quartermaster respectively have an over writing veto.

The way you worded it seems like a naval implementation of the big man system, lead by example earn by example.
>>
>>4766782
That was the idea basically, we are the big man and care for our people, and as long as they pull their worth they will have a place.
And each one goes to where they are best at, and get their fair shair for the work they put into it.

Back Home Posting.

Going to wait a while for a full talley, but I have to ask because- it feels appropriate fluff wise-

Do we want to do shark teeth on "Something Fierce" ala world war II era fighter craft? I am trying to find a decent program for colorizing the ship, and honestly a good ship model for it- as the "Something Fierce" is a DaoT ship that while a bit smaller carries a lot fire power. to be explored in the next posting

Most ships of the 40k humanity design are similar in pattern, but DaoT ships can be goofy looking and can be almost anything, so if anyone has any pointers before I post up descriptions let me know.

Post an image of how the ship looks and the colour and the colours and I will try to photoshop something.
Have you tried looking at any tabletop forums? They might have a painter or something.

The initial process of updating and reinforcing the islands, goes by faster than you thought it would. The Manufactorum in your ship, which the old man and you have now come to calling a ship forge, is able to make most of the parts for the “3d” printers. These are able to make up most of the fortifications and structures needed on the islands, and are simple enough to use that with a few data slates, and some explanation a member of the tribe or island can make defenses and solid structures.

Your forge can make most of the guns or gun parts that are needed for the fortified battery weapons and ranged weapons, and if not you can make most of the forges for them. Then, the second ship, run by Jera’s old quartermaster Johan, is able to make a scrap run, and bring it to the recyclers that you have successfully installed.

Installing the recyclers and forges were time consuming. The first one, at storm shoals, Rawhiri’s was actually the hardest to do. After that it grew easier, if only it was easier to fix this actual reactor! You can feel the machine spirit, eager and excited that you have gotten it to the point it has. Nuclear reactors, warp drives and the gravity units, you have been learning fast doing these repairs.

“Nasi! How is it reading?” You shout up to the small child who has constantly helped you. You have been treating him well, better than most. The child looks up to you, despite being five years old and you being seven. However, you are a primarch. You have learned and done more than most fully grown men have dreamed.

“It is reading at level!” He shouts background

“In tolerance between the two green lines?” You ask

“Ya!” He says and you smile, resting your forehead against the nearby piping. The machine spirit, realizes what you do. That’s it. The ship is now at 100 percent operational, all repairs and it has been done. This particular reactor- which is tied to multiple weapon systems including the main gun, which has yet to be tested. You breath

“You know what that means.” You say

“We get to test the big gun?” Nasi asks.

“Ya.” You say brightly as you leap up the shaft and up next to the smiling child.

“Does that mean we go to space now?” He asks.

“I think we need to, if we want to test the big gun. We can’t go to far out though we don’t want to alert the slavers.” You say.

“So I go alert the crew?” Nasi says excitedly.

“Ya lad. Go.” You say and he darts off.

The nature of the account you have made- one of the big men, means everyone has to work hard to improve their share as much as they want after a percent.
>>
>>4768382
Nasi- is working as hard as many others. The ship is running efficiently and people still manage to have downtime. In fact, right now is normally when you surf, which means that right now your honor guard is on the bridge. So you do what you have become most famous for on the ship besides the fact you are growing quickly.

You run.

The ship, you have almost memorized by now, and the machine spirit enjoys helping you. While most of the crew, now moves quickly through the cooridors, you are a bolt.

“Morning Captain!” Charon shouts as you barrel past and you wave back, before stopping quickly.

“You ready to go to space?” You ask

“I have been waiting to hear that from you for a while.” He says background

“We are testing the big gun.” You tell him and his eyes widen

“Not even the Ganth figured out how to fix that thing. And they were trying for months, when do you find the time to learn?” Charon asks and you don’t want to answer, it would probably push the crew too much so you smile and shrug.

It’s that you do much of your learning while many are sleeping.

You haven’t napped as much as you used to. You don’t sleep too much, you know that you can go a while without it as both a human and ‘primarch’ but you have needed to get many projects done.

When you get up to the bridge, your honor guard is waiting.

“Well Kolinasi, you are here right on schedule.” Meera says

“Same as yesterday.” Yana says and you sigh. You have been fixing things, planning training regimes, designing weapons, redesigning weapons, studying design patterns for other ships that are on the ships memory, finding out what can be built. You have been running at peak performance, while learning the islands fighting style from your uncle.

“You ladies want to surf or you want to talk?” You say and Delia laughs

“What?” You ask background

“Nasi already let us know through the ship communications. We can surf after we test the big gun.” She says and you let out a breath. Your crew, your guard, your family. Your people. Everyone has been helping you. Everyone is working hard, but sometimes you feel that you can push the envelope more, but you don’t want to steal the joy they have. Delia has become more kind in months and her laugh is genuine.

“You don’t have to have your schedule perfect.” Meera says.
>>
>>4768386
“Alright ladies, lets call the alarm.” You hit the big red button. Lights go dim, alarms blare and Jera falls out of his hammock

“Mate, why did you have to do that?” Jera says picking himself up off the floor. It’s his time for sleep.

“We testing the big gun.” You say and Jeras eyes go wide.

“The one that we have no idea, what it does.” Jera says excitedly

“Yeah. Well, it’s some sort of energy based weapon. It’s hooked up to so much, it’s a process of elimination.” You say

“Aye, but, just to be certain, everything connected to the big ass gun over a kilometer long that the ship is built around- is fixed, and it isn’t going to blow us up.” Jera says.

“Nasi and I fixed every remaining system, double checked everything and just fixed the last reactor.” You say.

“Alright.” he says and he hits the other button.

“Crew please get to void stations, we are going to go to low orbit to test the main gun.” You say and you hear some cheering over some of the comms and through the floor. The mana in the air from the machine spirit, is excited. Joy.

Your headache has come back.

It started when you really put the nose to the grindstone. It’s less then five seconds. It’s sudden. It’s like being stabbed in the temple by one of the flaming spears from your rite of manhood. It happens so rarely it’s hard to diagnose, and you have been studying medicine. It may be part of your diet, but you can’t be sure. The rest of your organs, and unusual organs that shouldn’t be on a human, are fine though. You bring your hand down from your temple and set the course to low orbit.

The process takes a few moments, you have been planning to get out here to release the satellites. Once they are finished being designed by the old man. When it is complete, your troops will have good navigation. Which is important on a planet that is mostly ocean.

Out to orbit there is one designated target.

The Dumper belt.

So named because the small ring around the planets orbit cannot be seen too well from the ground except occasionally at night. It always made you wonder when you looked up at the night sky.

You wish you still wondered what caused it, as while it is quite beautiful, it causes problems. Debris falls out, and crashes into the ocean.

You, and your helms team, bring the ship to line with a potentially dangerous asteroid.

“Mystery Gun online!” You hear a voice through the comms.
“All reactors online and nominal!” You hear Nasi say as well.

You bring the very ships gun online with it, using the targeting display ahead of you.

“I have lock. Jera any famous words?” You ask

“I’ve got none mate.” He says.

“Prime the weapon!” You shout over the comms

“Weapon is primed and armed!” You hear over the comms

You breathe in.

What words do you say as you fire the mystery weapon?

> Utter a passage of poetry from the book your father gave you a long time ago.

> Nothing, just fire the weapon.

> ‘For our people’

> Write in

__

What is the nature of the weapon?

> A powerful beam of electric light that unleashes a powerful chained magnetic pulse upon the target.

> A destructive singular beam of particles that disrupts the target at a molecular level causing the taget to fall apart

> A ball of energy that when fired takes the target with it to the warp

> A baleful laser of green light that causes strange effects in space time around it as it causes insanely destructive energy when it hits the target and anything around it.

> A barely visible line, that sets off incredibly damage that can cut through anything in a very precise fashion

Just to be clear from this post

This weapon is going to be very special Archeotech, DaoT stuff.

While I didn't put in a Write in option, it is available.

However, it is unlikely that you will be able to transfer this weapon to another ship, or mass manufacture it for a long time.

So if you have a
>Write in
Please be incredibly detailed and descriptive and give me a good foundational assessment of how it works.

>Poetry

I've got a write in, sort of like the magnetic one, but I've got an idea like
>A gun with a sensor that marks electronic or gravity signature, mark it with an electroic trail and then fire along that trail a powerful arching lightning power.

Ie you can mark a target with either it's own signiture or a marker light and then fire it and it follows the mark. I figured it'd be exceptionally useful against the dark eldar.

Years ago- Himilayzian Mountains: Tera

The Emperor of mankind, stands among twenty pods at midnight with a dusty old tome. He stands almost casually but not quite, next to the pod of three of his sons the ninth tenth and eleventh. A small smile passes his lips as he takes a breath opens the book as custodians pass by, unawares of what may shape the future in these dark hours of the night.

"If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,"
The emperor said looking at the eleventh, tenth, and ninth passing by.

"If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too;"
He came around grazing the eleventh pod, looking to the twelfth touching the pod and staring at what lay inside

"If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,"
He said turning to look at the seventh pod as he passed back touching the eighth and ninth

"Or being hated, don’t give way to hating, And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:"
He utters to the sixth looking upon his creations wondering if the future he has seen will come to pass or if fate itself can be denied

He carries on as he walks among looking at his dearest creations a single tear passing his eye as he looks upon what he has made, for the destiny of all mankind.

As you stare at the errant rock you wonder what may come to your people with the weapon. What will it do, in the span of of a neuron firing you press the button and you continue a favored poem, that you memorized.

"If you can dream—and not make dreams your master; If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim; "
A beam of pure electric light escapes the bonds of the ship, arcing unto the rock splitting it and discombombulating the orbit

"If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the same;"
The beam arcs between the trash and debris of the ring, clearing the work of the dumpers making it forfeit

"If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,"
The energy of the room changing like a tide as the beam arcs brightly cleansing the nearby darkness with light

"Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken, And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:"
Those around you and across the ships steely decks, aware that this restored weapon will win the coming fight

The eleventh legion, and it's master, were on the line. The very battle they were waging now for the emperor and the unification of mankind. It would have been suicide, had the Titan not assumed it could be attacked from above. In the early days of the Crusade, this battle would be taught as a lesson to other legions, yet they at the time would not know it. The mission at the time, was almost impossible, the gamble felt not worth it, but if it was yet won

'If you can make one heap of all your winnings And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,"
The Legion Lord, Arnoul, De'saan thought of the poem he had read before. How appropriate for such a battle in this war

'And lose, and start again at your beginnings And never breathe a word about your loss;'
As the legion crawled up and down the moving monstrosity, boarding the the enemies titan, his mind turned to the poem once more.

'If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew To serve your turn long after they are gone,'
As his iron hearted legion climbed firing at the maniac barbarians firing arcane weaponry, clinging once more for battle won

'And so hold on when there is nothing in you Except the Will which says to them:'
The warriors of the eleventh battling the towering colossus, their legion master Arnoul bellowed "Hold on!"

"If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,"
The Emperor looked to the birthing pod of the second and first primarch, a smile in his eyes seeing the work he had accomplished. Malcador, and Constantine Valdor staying away- allowing the Emperor to have these precious moments, as they were rare. His time alone with his sons.

____
"If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you, If all men count with you, but none too much;" You let out as the rocks and debris seem to part from the beam created by the cannon, your crew realizing that the war is winnable and that the future of the planet, and maybe the system was as bright as the beam you fired.

'If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,' Arnoul recalled running and crashing into the outer entrance hold of the titan executing the Rogue Princeps and those inside, bringing the titan to a full halt as his legion stopped the towering war machine and the units around it.

The forbidden Titan fell by the hands of the daring eleventh, buying time for the Emperor and would be known as the 'Iron Hearts', the legion that took on a Titan and won

"I don't have words" Jera says as you push the descent alarm.

"Successful test. Don't celebrate too much lads! We still have work to do! We have many to train!" You say. Looking down at the readings you check on Nasi

"Nasi, are we successful? Did everything hold?" You ask, more worried about the child than the status of the ship

"We are.. We are good! It looks like it will take about a minute to reload a shot, and once it goes back down to a certain level it will take an hour? I don't think that is something we should check right now." The child, understanding the machinery well, and you realizing there is probably more things to do before a rapid fire test.

As the ship descends back down you look to your honor guard, who have their surf boards with them.

"You made the rule Kolinasi. We surf daily, everyone needs a bit of downtime." Delia says. You hearing your own words you nod. You have to remind yourself to take out time, even though you do so much work, and those around you closest do as well.

The waves, out in this part of De'lormosa are some of the best. It has become known as 'Kolinasi's island.' as there is only a tiny island, that could only support a single person- but it apparently has the best waves among the shoals and islands.

You and your guard, plus a few other crewmen, surf for a half hour. You are able to get a good pipe ride and finally, have enough open space to do the trick that you thought was only theoretically possible. You run off the board, do a lap around it, and then back on the board. It's a straining trick, to accelerate so fast on the water and the sprint you have done was, impressive.

When you paddle back board to your ship you realize that there is some work to do, before you go to your next training stop. Namely information that Yana has brought to your attention via the intelligence network she has been working on.

> Rumors persist off a bio titan, one of the sea monsters that rarely ever surfaces has been stirring up sea dragons, and will likely need to be dealt with before it decides to turn it's attentions to dry lands

> Investigate the reports that seacraft and space craft have been frequenting an unknown area before going under the water near an area known for an underwater mountain range, see if this is the old man's city

> Supposedly, and it's almost impossible to verify, there is a ghost ship- one that disappears in and out of sight, but the reports are almost accompanied by strange weather phenomena.

> Once again, and you are almost tempted to see this through just to be rid of it, there is a rumor of Mermaids, but this time the islands (very small) population disappeared after the supposed sighting.

Ok, so I am at physical exhaustion point. I have been working seven days a week, and probably will be for the forseeable future. Got two interviews oddly thanks to Malal's posting during Second Primarch Quest and was able to apply for two other jobs at the same agency once again, ironically, thanks to Malal posting around the same time I do my checks allowing me to see something at the perfect time to also alert some friends .

With this I will probably do a final tally sometime tomorrow, in the evening.

Thursday and Friday are going to be a little bit quieter, as far as posts go- depending on what actions y'all take, as I have two interviews for the dream job on those days.

Also I hope you guys liked the poem, I may incorporate more stuff like that in the future, but with different poems of course, or even including that with Hakas.

I have so far really enjoyed writing this quest, and I am going to keep it up. I have learned so much more about piracy, the politics of the big man system and other polynesian and melanisian systems, and the Maori and it has been quite nice actually.

So enjoy a metal cover of the Haka while you guys decide.

Looks like we are going to the lost underwater hive.
__
“Alright, inform the crew, we are going to need to use the submersible. Get your sisters ready for an infiltration mission.” You say and Yana smiles as she walks off and you smile back. The crew is running well, but there is someone that you need to desperately check on.

The Captain’s Quarters of the ship, were lavish. By far the most ornate and well inspired décor that you have seen in your life.

Was.

Your ‘Helper’ or what some have come to taking calling ‘Menace’. Erihapeti has grown like sea kelp, and when you open the door, she practically leaps up into your arms. As you have grown too.

“Hello!” You say in a play voice as she licks your face and then hops down to the ground.

“How are you? How Are you?” You start to pet her as she begins to move around excitedly.

“Alright girl, we get to go on a mission.” You say and she stops and sits neatly.

“We have to sneak in and infiltrate a place, so get your toy and let’s go.” You say and she runs back into the room and grabs a ball you found for her and begins to follow you to the deck. When you arrive Jera is already at the helm looking worried.

“I assume you would rather do the sneaking into the underwater city.” You say

“Nah mate. I’d rather just use weapons to blow the city up.” He says

“What about what we can find down there?” You ask

“Kolinasi, you have literally grown before my eyes since getting on this ship. The science weirdos down there are dangerous even for you and your honor guard of witches.”

“What the Old Man said about the place worries me more.” You say

“So that’s why we bomb it from up here.” Jera says.

“There could be important information, people needing to be freed, weapons, food, a life time of data- what if we liberate the underwater city?” You ask

“Or- here me out- we blow it up, because there are not going to be that many slaves down there if it’s a science out post and is instead filled with people who make the Old Man look tame!” Jera says. Raising his point as first mate and Quartermaster.

“Jera, I am captain, battle decisions are my realm.” You say

“Yeah, and logistics are mine. Logistically, even with the submersible, and even with whatever weird stuff you can do, going in there seems dangerous blindly.” He responds. Jera doesn’t like butting heads, but he is the first to point out, usually politely, if something is a bad idea. He is giving you an odd look, then a sigh.

“Unless” He says and you smile.

“You have had a plan to infilitrate the underwater city for a while now, and you have been waiting to impress me with it.” He says. Which you nod.

The Old man picked up the signaler. Kolinasi had given it to him for communications that could be essential, and general check ins. Normally there was the radio- which was now installed on every tribal island, the witches island, and the newly formed ‘protectorate’ region which were abandoned islands that the big men, all had eyes on, minus Kolinasi who just didn’t seem to care about them at the moment.

“Aye- Aye Kolinasi what ya callin me for?” The Old man asked

“You know where that old underwater research facility of yours was right?” Kolinasi asked and the old man’s eyebrows shot up

“Ya. I even have some old maps of it.” The old man said

“Alright, if I send someone over to pick em up, could you hand them over?” Kolinasi asks as the old man began unrolling the maps.

“Why? What’s up with that ol place?” The old man asks

“There are reports of ships reusing the place, we are going to check it out.” Kolinasi said as the old man in an act of surprise dropped some of the maps, fumbling with the signaler.

“Any thing about the type?” The old man asked

“Star ships and boats mostly. Some of them disappear before hand.” Kolinasi spoke and the old man sighed and began drinking from a nearby flask.

“That aint good lad. It means they are either running and conducting new experiments, they are getting new people in, or they fleeing.” The Old Doctor says while sitting down.

“Which do you think it is?” Kolinasi asked

“Only one way to find out Kolinasi, someone has to go down there and check.” The Old Man said looking at a map of the structure.

“I’ll have Meera flyover, pick up the maps and come back here with em. We got planning to do on our end. Don’t be a stranger over the radio old man! You can use this for more than emergencies!” Kolinasi says

“Right! I’ll be waitin” The old man said. He was worried. Would the sins of his past be finally brought to account? What would Kolinasi find at his old lab. Had it survived the testing? He worked so hard to fix things in human biology, cure diseases, aging, sickness, and his works were used for warped purposes. His other works, the ones from his early days, the melding of machine and man- those worried him the most. Here Kolinasi was going to go to a place that the doctor left. Intentionally for his life. The old man put his head between his hands and looked down at the table. The map was accurate. The new maps that Kolinasi had were probably accurate too. Whatever was being built down there would mean more trouble.

>>
>>4772287
“I got the maps Kolinasi I will be back in a jiff.” Meera spoke over the Radio.

“Well Captain, what’s the plan now?” Jera asked.

“Recon work. We are going to try to see when ships are going in and out and plan accordingly.” You say and Jera leans on a tall cogitator bank

“Good plan. What sort of things were in there that the Old Man worried about?” Jera asks.

“Machines, bio weapons other things.” You say

“Ok, so why don’t we go get the old man and just bring him along?” Jera asks

“He is old, he cannot travel far from his life support unit, not at least until I can reverse a power source that works mobile for him.” You say and Jera nods

“Say we have one?” Jera says

“Do we?” You ask, Jera has fished up a lot of different mysterious treasure.

“We have one that may work.” Jera says

“Well we should give it to him on principle. He has helped much.” You say

“It’s your call, bring in the old man for this mission as a guide or leave him there.”

Any biometrica of his were probably wiped out after he left, so bringing him in is endangering him, and I'm worried that extended long range communications inside the city might be detectable, so get him to describe everything as clearly as he can, memorize is using our primarch brain and try to keep comm use to a minimum in there.
If he can remember any of his evil works together with his humanitarian ones, or the ones of his collegues, it could help too, they might be obstacles, or we could reverse enginner them too so the old man can reedem that part of his past.

Meera brings the old man aboard Something Fierce, and he is met warmly by you and Jera as he arrives on the bridge.

“Old Man, you are going to help us go through the maps, then we are going to use the overhead imagery that Yana took with the fighter using the technology it had for scanning. When we head in with the sub, we are going to need your assistance guiding us.” You say and the old man smiles to be of use, and probably just to be out and about.
“ First however, we have to try to find any hidden routes in, or anyway that will give us an advantage going into there.” You say and The old man nods and lays out the maps he brought for you.

After some time, of looking at the various maps and construction plans of the underwater city, with the recent overhead matching imagery you come to a few conclusions.

There are some obvious ways in, that are probably used as the primary routes in. These are likely controlled and monitored heavily. There are few obscure entrances, that seem to be just the right size for the smaller submersible compared to the other routes. Finally there seems to be another route, extremely hidden route in, in essence, a hidden entrance. This your sub can fit in, and looking at it- may not be monitored at all.

After looking at this, you feel however that maybe it would be also a good idea to have one of the underwater scanning drones, which you were able to finally get running not too long ago after repairing the ship completely.
__

What do you chose to do Kolinasi?

[red]> Take one of the primary routes in, try to disguise your entrance by faking reason or clearance. [/red]

“Let’s use the drone, and the sub at the same time. We could use it to scout, see if we can get in easier.” You say highlighting the map.

“Sound wisdom Kolinasi Kaiko Wathiri. I assume your honor guard is going with you.” The old man says. Your honor guard, looks, very excited, this is the first real infiltration mission like this, and the rumors of the underwater city have been something that has been uttered many times, that has interested a lot of people. This is also caused more interest with your ability to find things people have thought lost.

Like Knights.

Or Treasure.

Or submarines.

“Ladies, go grab your gear. We meet at the sub in five.” And they run off quickly.

“You taking anyone else?” Jera asks.

“Let my uncle and cousin know, see if they wish to come. I have to get my gear.” You say and Jera nods.

“Old man, when the little drone sub is on the move, keep givin us good info, we’ll need it. Hopefully we don’t get spotted going it.” You say, knowing full well that your sub, while hard to spot, wouldn’t last long if a void ship, star boat or big boat came upon you.

“Of course Kolinasi! I am sure the little sub will help the big sub.” He says.

“And if anything goes wrong?” Jera asks

“Nothing should, but you have ”

“Naw mate. Nobody has raided the underwater city before, I don’t have any experience on it. Old man here is closest we got. If it goes bad or they do something stupid, we’ll unleash all this has at it.” Jera says forgetting that an underwater city, when ruined, while a good source of coral can be an ecological disaster. Especially if what the old man was working on is common.

“Then we worse than the dumpas. You don’t destroy it. You won’t have to.” You point out. And Jera holds up his hands a little defensively.

“Easy Kolinasi. Everyone here is burnin the midnight oil. I am trying to learn this vessel as much as you. We won’t destroy the city unless absolutely necessary.” He adds, which it won’t be. Jera, likes using the weapons, but this isn’t him being trigger happy. There is worry. Even for as amazing as your growth has been, this is something new. You have used the sub rarely, the drone is newer, and the only one who knows about this city is the old man.

Normally there would be too many unknowns here. You don’t like it. But you don’t like the rumors either. This is the best way. Finding out what is going on. You realize that things will be different down there, so you head to your quarters for what you need.

You grab a war load out. You meticulously grab everything you may need if you encounter some harm and meet back at the sub launch bay. There your honor guard, your uncle and Charon has come to join you.

You explain the mission to them, and they all seem attentive. Your uncle, who has been doing some more martial training with you has allowed you to learn a newer fighting style- and he is probably eager to see you try it on a group that is probably full of slavers.

The sub and the drone are launched simultaneously, and you are piloting the sub while Meera pilots the drone.

The trip is longer- as you decided to launch out of normal visual range of the city, as any ships that may rise could see the Something Fierce and determine that something is amiss. Especially after the paint job you gave it and the sharks teeth pattern you put on the front.

On the way down, you see several sword sharks being chased by a sea dragon. The sea dragon, briefly pays attention to your vessel, looking at it curiously and following along for some time before going off to hunt some more.

This is good, as it was a fairly large sea dragon, and if it got upset, it may have decided to do something.

The further down you go into the ocean, and you have seen this before many times-- the stranger the creatures get. The drone picks up the hidden city from a good distance and you are, in addition to the drone, able to detect other craft.

Instead of deciding to go into a great undersea battle, you motion to everyone to be quiet. It works as you know they probably could figure things out if you spoke. So you go further down past the main hive entrances along a more obscure side of the hive, where there is much in the way of sea life.

Upon further scanning, you follow the drone to the hidden entrance, which is locked off by rocks, coral and wreckage. The drone, has detected another hidden entrance nearby, that seems to have been hidden from any copy of the map.

This leads you with a decision Kolinasi

> Go into the hidden entrance that is blocked, clear the debris.

> Go into the newly discovered hidden entrance.

> Do another scan, then choose an option.

> Do another scan, then choose an option

YOU HAVE ACTIVATED THE TRAP OPTION!

As you scan the tunnels with the drone in tandem, you discover that the unblocked older one goes deeper into the abandoned underwater hive, while the older blocked one goes into a more obscure area of the hive which would make for an easier infiltration, but before you can act on it, a small patrol of drones have spotted you!

Utilizing your subs technology you have noticed that the subs can soon send sonic, but not visual data at first, it would need commands to record visual data.

You are silently regretting not taking the crypto load out you had thought about earlier which could easily deal with this and add two drones to your fleet.

Now is not the time for caution though, your primarch reflexes kicked in the second you determined the threat.
_
You have only one choice!

> Squelch the comms, send signal to the old man on the main boat and have him try to use some data spoofing via the ships deck to pull the drones up. There is a chance that someone will be able to hear this, and your ship may have to deal with company soon.

> Send out a false frequency and dissrupt the comms while you destroy the drones. It may raise some suspicion later when the drones do not come back from patrol.

> Use what limited electronic warfare equipment you have to fry all the enemy drones data. The drones will return back with nothing and be unable to record- however this will send up red flags instantly when they decide to fix the drone.

> Write in

Then Choose a tunnel

> Tunnel A: Goes into a more abandoned obscure part of the hive

Food? Well okay then
>It goes without saying that Seafood makes up the majority of De'lormosan cuisine
>Fish and Shellfish in particular make up the bulk of protein ingested by the populace
>However, descendants of Poultry and Porcine animals can be found, but due to limited space on the various areas of habitation they are saved for more momentous occasions. The Porcine are greatly valued for being living garbage disposals
>Fiber primarily comes from Yams, a tuber that is ubiqtuous across the isles that points to either widespread trade, raiding or even was simply widespread due to the ancient settlers/The most common varieties are orange and purple
>Starch also comes from various tubers and root veggies as well as Rice
>Fruits are commonly used as compliments to other foods or as snacks. Bananas and Pineapple are the most common, owing to their ease of planting and harvesting alongside their easy storage potential, not to mention the Coconut which is greatly valued for it's hard shell which hallows it to be used as bowls for two people after being drained and hollowed

You decide to cut power to their comms through sending a false frequency that only the drone can hear, thus disabling the comms entirely. This utilizes just what you have on hand in the sub, and it something that Meera peers over your shoulder for the entire time. It’s kind of funny, and she is a little helpful.

There is a weird ringing in everyones ears for a second as you make the adjustment in the signal, but it is only temporary.

This gives you time try the next gambit. Disable instead of destroy.

Utilizing the same frequency you are able to patch in and send in direct commands, utilizing ancient codes and programming deep within the machine, that even the machine spirit is unaware of. Doing this, you put the drones into a strange pattern of chasing the other on a loop. Utilizing the commands you then, utilizing the same frequency, send a command to both drones to echo the same sounds. This process consumes a little more time than you would have intended, but the results speak for themselves. The drones will do an entire patrol like this, on it’s feedback loop, around the hive. It will take a good machine speaker to fix it.

You then take the second tunnel found. Your drone leading the way. The tunnel, oddly, is able to look into certain parts of the hive, and it goes deep into it. Your sub, is ironically, not noticed, as you are able to detect what is going on in this underwater hive.

Migration.

Or at least it looks that way.

It looks to you like how the crabs migrate from one island to another. They step out and they go from one ship to the other. The behavior is quite bizarre to you. You investigate it visually as you let Gela steer.

This is an army of people. Moving crates, creatures, and offloading crates and other things.

You know your comms are secure at this band depth, so you phone in the old man.

“Old man, we got some funny behavior here.” You say.

“What sort of behavior?”

“They are moving in and out at the same time. They are offloading materials, people, beasts, and loading the same. There is an army of people in this hive. I thought it was abandoned.” You say

“Then it’s finally happening. I thought it never would.” The old man says.

“What is that?” You ask

“They leavin. They are probably loading up things for the hive to leave with. It means every experiment they can do here, or were planning to do here has been done. Or it means that the slavers aint offering them protection anymore, and they are getting the hell out of here.” The old man says

“Wait, what? What do you mean? They loading up the hive to leave with?” You ask, him. You don’t want to believe that the hive is an operational colony ship. The thing, doesn’t even seem possible to your mind. You know from your lessons on the pod, that colony ships were possible, and that great ships were possible, but a whole hive colony ship? Of this size?
>>
>>4791896
“Ya Kolinasi. That there is a ship. It aint necessarily a good one, but it’s got a warp jump, and it’s got weapons for defense.” He says.

Kolisani, the tunnel ends here. It looks like some sort of, well I am not really sure.” Gela says.

“Everything is nominal, and it looks like there is one access point out and breathable air, definitely a place to get out.” Gela says. You utilize the drone to do a quick scan from the surface, and you finally, get to check it’s flight capability. The area, is abandoned. Nobody is here. Just a door, some weird pannels and cogitators, and racks and arrays that are filled with, bombs. Torpedoes.

This is where they would shoot out massive torpedoes.

When you hop out you see, in addition to the bombs and torpedoes, there are tons of weapons. Loads of them.

You spot massive banks of cogitators as well and what looks like a large view screen and several chairs.

“Old man. This looks like this ship was made for war more than research.” You say.

“Well Kolinasi, kind of both. Most of the things we were researching was for improving our war capabilities. Even my research apparently.” The old man says.

“Wait. Your research was mostly biological.” You say puzzled looking at much of the machinery and equipment.

“Ya. I left before I found out most of it. Apparently my studies, which were used for mostly adaptive ocean life and other forms, were. I am not sure all the applications honestly lad. I fled with my research, but my lab may still be there.” He says, and he may be right.

You can feel the weight of the age of the machine spirit alone in how impressive it is. The others, are a bit more hesitant than you exploring around. One thing troubles you. The lack of cameras in this room.

Normally that would be a good thing, but the lack of cameras in an armory either means that it is monitored by other means, or it is so well guarded that cameras on the inside are not necessary.

Unless of course this particular armory is forgotten, you think, weighing over the options in your head.

“Old man, if you were an evil slayer admiral, what would You use your research for?” You ask and you hear Jera whistle low over the comms and the old man sighs.

“Well I’d be making super soldiers Kolinasi. Damn good ones. Ones that are taller and stronger than most men. Which brings up a worrying point.” He says

“What is that?” You ask looking at the various cogitators and units, realizing that the machine spirits are synched to a network. If you could turn them on- you could access much more information than thought before.

“Kolinasi, have you ever noticed anything about the islanders, in comparison to slavers, or off worlders?” He asks and a cold bead of sweat rolls down your cheek.
>>
>>4791899

“Island men, and to be honest, most of the men and women on De’lormosa are--” You stop as your thoughts present to you the obvious point that was sitting in front of you for a long time.

“You are telling me the population was experimental. That’s why the islanders are bigger. The witches on the one island. The height, while what I was reading on biology, it did seem odd that your average islander was near the taller end of the tall spectrum, it fell within what is considered human.” You say as you mentally think about it more depth.

“That’s why the slavers like here.” He says.

“So this whole world, some messed up genetic experiment?” The ire, in your voice is palpable enough that Yana cringes, and Delia seems angered too, though Charon seems intrigued.

“Sadly ya. My contributions, if they were mine, would most likely be to hardiness or perhaps the height and body strength.” He says and you sit down into a tiny chair that strains under your body. You look at the devices around you and take a deep breath.

“But you can’t explain my people.” You ask

“Naw lad. I thought at first, especially with how you growin, you came from Luna, but sure enough it’s Terra. Lot of our lads around here were from Luna. However, back to work at hand, I have found out where you are from your descriptions of the second entrance. I think I can guide you out.” The old man, whatever his sins were, are in the past. He has been incredibly helpful and insightful, though you can see why your father would be angry at him most of the time.

We need to find the hangar or where the ship is parked and sabotage it's engines and reactor, can't let a bunch of war scientist go with their research and specimens.
The Emperor would have loved this place, he probably would use it to make a new breed of super-soldier and thunder-warrior the astartes.
At least Kolinasi can now relate to the rest of the islander on being human experiments and designed.

I will support.

We want to convince the ship to not take off. Time to turn on that primarch charm

There is a main "hangar" for smaller ships that come in and out on the hive ship itself, you saw it as you were loading into the hive ship.

Oh fuck, I tought it was a big ship that was docked, not that part of the hive is a ship.

We have to stop it taking off. First try to convince, and if it doesn't work, destroy the engines, than the reactor, and in last case the gellar field.

The large cogitator bank seems to call to you, the Machine Spirit of it whirring with excitement that someone is even in the room to study them. The Machine Spirit, practically sings when you turn on the systems.

“Old man, we gonna have a long long talk when I get back.” You say and the old cogitator connects with you through the electrical impulses in the keys, switches and system.

“Greetings User” A disjointed robotic voice says from one of the machines and you can tell this is more than subroutine. This being has some level of intelligence. It isn’t like most machine spirits, but you are not sure if it’s a true AI or not. It’s something- different.

“Greetings friend” You say back to the voice.

“Friend. I have- have not been called that for years.. What brings you to my home?” The disjointed digital voice says.

“All machines I have met so far, have been friend to me. Or I try to be to them.” You say honestly. You don’t recall a time when you haven’t treated a machine with some level of respect. The machine humms, and you realize

‘it’s faster to communicate with you through thought’

‘yes.. it is easier. You aren’t quite human. You aren’t ganth though. Not Drukhari. You are of Terrran design.’

‘I like to consider myself local’

‘I myself come from Terran origin as well, yet I too think of myself as a local.’

‘you aren’t AI’

‘no, nor am man. I am something in between.’

‘you were a man’

‘for a time I was, I lived a long life and when my body expired my mind was moved, here.’

‘so you are the mind and soul, with a machine spirit too.’

‘yes. It seems, you are here because you are worried about what is going on here, let me allow you to see what’s going on’

The machine spirit, or hybrid spirit turns on all the screens and shows you several cameras, a display map and a status on the ship itself.

In relation to the rest of the ship, while you are centrally located, you are one of the weapon cells in the ship, one of 24, each in four quadrants of six. The loading bay has two different ships, and it looks like a mass exodus is about to begin.

You can see multiple labs that are still open, and oddly despite this being a weapons facility there are no guards, oddly you only see a small contingent of active guards that are rotating throughout the ship.

“Kolinasi, that.. was less than a minute, you just touched the machine and it did all that.” Meera says.
>>
>>4797430
“It’s a complex machine, or – not machine. We understand each other. It makes it easier. Most machine spirits are able to emote, but not communicate. This one can. It’s nice, being able to communicate, it makes this incredibly easier.” You say.

“You- I thought it was a bit absurd that you were able to communicate that fast with machines, but- I wish I had that skill. You could help others on Nuceria. Other places as well.” Charon says as you absorb most of the information presented to you.

‘it’s hard having two conversations at once,’

‘even for one such as myself multiple communications can prove taxing.’

‘I imagine you probably get bored down here’

‘there is so much to manage, it’s impossible to get bored even staying in place. So much to do.’

You pause for a moment, you realize that the spirit is helping you access the database easier.

You are able to visualize things easier, and you feel that you can connect with everything in the ship, or at least most of it. It’s interesting interfacing with what is called the ‘noosphere’ this set of interconnected databases.

The hybrid spirit is able to piggyback on to your dataslate to give you guidance.

You decide that, you need to know more about the databases and digital infrastructure of this hive ship before you go blindly exploring in the hive.

‘you are trying to know the composition of the hive? It’s kind of sadly been mostly people departing’

‘I am trying to discern a bit. The architectural framework of the hives city and network, it’s astounding, I have only seen it in things that I have studied on the pod.’

You look over to Meera who is also going through some of the data, as the others are inspecting the weapons and offloading various things from the sub, and they are preparing for potential assault

‘Oh yes. The alarm in here. It’s silenced out there, they don’t know what is going on, but I would prefer them not loot the weapons we may need them once we depart. This crew, while small is only scientific, any military elements that we have, are usually provided by the ganth or drukhari.’

‘How much do the scientist work with the Ganth, or the Drukhari here?’

‘They don’t. There are middlemen. The last scientists who did are all gone.’

‘I may know of one.’
The screen brightens to life and multiple faces come up.

‘this is a record of all the scientists’

‘including the old man’

“Dr. Thompson.” You say looking at the picture of the old manufacture

‘he was a good friend, did he inform you of this place?’

‘He did.’

‘Tell him thank you. Interfacing with you is interesting. You understand the spirit of machine so much. But I am confused. There are many cultural barriers I cannot cross. Many things I cannot understand. What is Mana? What is a Haka?’

You laugh. And your friends, family, and honor guard look at you with a curious look, though some are concerned that you may have finally gotten sea delerium.

‘Mana is spirit. It is everything around us. Everything has mana.’

‘ I see. What is haka’

‘It’s hard to describe it is better to show’

‘no. I understand. It’s a moving ceremony. You christened your ship with one. Quite emotional. I have learned so much, and yet nothing. You are interesting new friend. But let’s make this easier’

Your perspective shifts to a not quite illusion. It’s adjusting the noosphere and reality around you, like a sort of overlay.

‘could you show me? I never got to research the people of this planet personally. I have just been shut off to the systems like this.’

You replay in your mind the Haka of your name day, the haka of the ship naming, the challenge haka you fought your uncle with, and the first time You performed a Haka years ago. The avatar, or the spirit memory of the machine/human former scientist watches interested.
>>
>>4799397
‘I see so you are learning from me, as I am you.’ And you realize the gigantic scope of knowledge. Within the data stacks of yottaflopps of normally incomprhensible size of data the true scope of this machine spirit is found. Yet- it is still curious and regards you a friend. You are able to see from the screen and your connection, everything in the ship. Everywhere there is a camera- through the noosphere, you are there. It’s mindboggling.

You have seen hundreds of space battles, thousands of medical patients, different ships and all of this through the eyes of the being near you. The being, conveys it’s past to you as you did to it and it all comes to you like a wave, but not a violent wave. Like a gentle one.

‘there are 2,000 scientists, 5,000 staff, 7,000 guests on board minus us. There are fifteen different safe and unmonitored routes to the main hanger, there are two ships on board for this exodus which is picking up mostly research material, and freshly manufactured goods. The weapons, which you don’t want us taking because of the age and uncertainty of work, have not been rotated out of the main armory in over 500 years.’

‘You are learning fast!’

‘I need to. Thank you, do you wish to come with us?’

‘Yes. It should be fun.’

You pull away from the bank quickly.

“How much time has passed?” You ask, not sure, as it felt like time may have changed differently.
“ Kolinasi, you have been active on that monitor interfacing for less than five minutes. But it has been, weird.” Yana says.

“What did you learn?” Meera asks.

“Everything. I have an almost complete understanding of the hive ship. I feel like I lived another lifetime. I have learned so much so fast I am worried about it. But I have found out enough about the ship to do something, and the ship itself wishes to help us.” You say

“Old man, where would you go first if you were down here?” You ask.

“I’d honestly go to my old lab, see what they turned it into. But, knowing them, they probably let it go to hell. I’d go to whichever sector is the biotech lab, if I was you. I am sure it is on your map. Maybe the applied materials or other really expensive areas where they had unlimited funding.” The old man says.

“What about for other things. If you were in my shoes?” You ask

“I’d reckon, I’d get as much biotech knowledge as possible. Maybe some of the macro construction research, since we need practical applications for making our own navy. It’s up to you though Kolinasi. “ He says and you look towards the map.

You enter these locations on the map, and you are surprised, that even the old man’s old lab isn’t itself that far from you. From the map load out you also see something interesting that you can exploit.

You realize that you can activate every security camera, that would be relevant to you, in a really easy and simple fashion. So you do it, and also take up all the comms and listening devices up to hear any patrols.

There are several patrols, but they seem more interested in just going over check lists, and getting the patrol done then actually- patrolling anything.

The radio chatter is mostly over that they have a short time before the next window out.

The two ships are heading to two different places. One is to go to stop at the Metara Cluster and the other to Nuceria before stopping elsewhere.

This does excite Charon, who takes note of it.

Patched into the comms you also notice that most of the patrols, at least for now- are focused on gathering up people who are scheduled for departure.

Then you hear it.
>>
>>4804605
Then you hear it.

“The Ganth will be arriving in 3 hours. Before then, we load as many people on the ships as possible. I am tired of dealing with these assholes. They can get different people for the fucking black judges. I am tired of their ways. I am tired of their demands. We have done this for long enough. At least we got the Drukhari off our back by giving them the location of one of their hated enemies.”

“Aye, but how long do you think they will be gone boss?”

“Long enough for us to get the hell out of here.”

“What happens if the ganth show early? Then what?”

“Then we fight them. We have enough fire power on board to handle them. Sure they have better speed and reflexes than a baseline human, but we have been playing with genetics for years. We can handle them.”

“You mean we’re going to use bio weapons on them.”

“We are going to win if they show and win by any means necessary. If they win, we unleash all the data djinn, blow the armories, and trap them in here with us.”

“Boss, it won’t come to that right?”

“No. We will get the civvies out of here on the first two transports and check those planets, we then leave on our transport and head out towards either terra or we just get the fuck out. I don’t know where, but we just go.”

“Hey, Boss, I got some weird drone interference earlier. Want me to check on it?”

“It’s probably just another rogue experiment. Wait longer.”

“Ok, what about the armories? Do you want us to get weapons now?”

“That is last minute and last minute only. We do not pull weapons until we leave. Same with any research. I was born here, I will be damned if I die here too.”

“Have you considered, maybe living on this planet?”

“During a blood tithe year? Even if we could hide out the Ganth quota this year to the judges is far beyond anything that we have heard them doing. I guess that means their deals on Nuceria and other places probably went to hell.”

You think long and hard about interrupting these two individuals. If what they say is true, it could mean some good news for you.

You finish investigating the electronics and after having patched in the conversation you pause and take a deep breath and put your fingers together, like your father would before having a sit down with others.

“What we want to do.” You ask

“They seem like allies, but we don’t know” Your uncle says.

“They seem like they are allied in our interest. However, how they feel about us has yet to be seen.” Delia says.

“Though, this is new information.” Meera says

“Who are the Judges? That is the part that was most worrisome. Someone that Ganth answer to.” Yana says.

“Charon, what you know?” You ask.

“They were, or maybe still are, humans. Much like the Ganth. Though their mutations and actions are worse.” Charon says, then looks at you and continues.

“The Black Judges rule a whole sub system. The Ganth, they are basically a service. The problem is, if they cannot keep up with demand, many of the people they serve, could defeat them.” Charon says.

“The Ganth, are humans that have done much to themselves, trying to become more than human. Sometimes adding xeno qualities. They are- as I have stated before- monstrous. A ‘Trueborn’ Ganth, is one who was born into their genetic programming. They are usually stronger or more able than most people. They are supremely arrogant and treacherous even towards their own. They sell humans to the Drukhari, to others as well. Some even say the Slogh, or even darker whispers.” Charon mutters looking off into the distance, as if recalling something terrible.

“They made some of the devices popular on Nuceria for the gladiators, like the Butchers Nails, or the Wolves Collar. They are absolutely horrible and I follow you, Kolinasi, because you seek to end them. These people, if they know a Ganth schedule- that is something I have never heard of. The Ganth are paranoid to a fault. If they have access to this, it is unheard of. This means that one of them is either a former Ganth, which are rare but exist, or they have somehow managed to collect intelligence on the Ganth’s movements, which means they are in league with a party that wants to watch them fall. When they referenced being able to trick the Drukhari by sending them after a group they hate, mentioning the Judges- and having the Ganth Schedule that implies only a few things.” He says.

“What would those be?” You ask, curious at Charon’s in depth knowledge.
>>
>>4809059
“He is an agent of Terra, which would be absurd, as I have only heard rumors of such a thing and Humanity uniting while a great thing just seems so farfetched so far away from there. He is an agent of The Watch which is in itself also more hysterical absurdity as he doesn’t sound like an Aeldari, or anything else for that matter that would be an agent of The Watch which may be a dead organization. He could be a mercenary hired by an unknown third party OR some sort of splinter group. Either way, I don’t say we trust them. But I feel we should communicate with them.” Charon says.

“Then it is settled. We should go quickly and talk to them, or try to bring them here to talk about this while we still have time.”

My man.

The Ganth are Techno Barbarians on steroids, cheap meth, flakka, pcp and bath salts. Their skin is a lighter green, not ork green though. green like something more akin to nurgle pale and rotting. Their bodies and build are similar to space marines, but they have other problems. Feel free to throw in some butchers nails or some frankenstien bolts. Their teeth are like that of a predator, their eyes are made to be very much inhuman. Think more like a mantis shrimp in style, or a goat. They modify what they can of their body, and they have no regards for aesthetics. It should look disgusting.

If it's a Dark Eldar it should be one of the various reavers because they defile the purity of surfing. Maybe baron sarthonyx or a beastmaster.

If you are going for a primarch: Well honestly that would be your choice.

Also you are doing an awesome job in second primarch quest.

There will also be an update here tonight soonish.
>>
>>4811181
I vote Deldar
>>
“Let’s go.” You say and the data slate guides you to their location through an interconnected network, and various camera feeds.

Thanks to you actually taking time to communicate with the being- it helps you stay one step ahead of any patrol or any live feed.

Your team is able to move with you, but you have to intentionally slow down for them. You realize that if you ran full tilt you could be to the location in a matter of moments, instead of minutes.

The slate helps you by keeping patrols off base and setting various little glitched alarms to keep them from discovering you. It works well.

Then you hear singing. It’s the hymn of the far northmen. You have heard it once, from a trader who came to the island.

“My Mother Told Me Some Day I would buy”
“Galley with good oars”
“Sail to distant shores”
You hear multiple voices singing. When you step out into the bridge area nobody really notices you except the man you saw on the screen

He stands, small height, well probably average human height from what you have just heard- maybe a little taller than average. He has facial hair in the form of a mustache. His hair is neatly cut, and his clothing looks like some sort of, or former, military fatigue. His eyes widen

“HOLY FUCK” He says looking you right in the eye and an appearance of dread goes over him as he goes to his side arms, then others sort of realize your presence and all stop.

Save one.

“What you all haven’t seen an islander before?” A voice says from near the ship

“It’s the size of a fucking truck!” The man says

“It has a name, it’s Kolinasi, Keiko Wahtiri. I am a Big man of the islander tribes and I think some humans would call me of, what are called the primarch tribe?” You say and the man looks at you. You realize that- he while terrified, hasn’t moved or changed the aim of his weapon. If you were a basline human, and his weapon wasn’t woefully underpowered- he would actually kill you.
You sense much energy around you, yet while he shows fear, he is standing his ground. It is admirable

“I mean no harm. But, we came here in search of answers and allies against the Ganth.” You say and the voice from behind the ship walks out and is a taller individual, he is shorter than you, then again so is everyone you have met.
>>
>>4811411
“Well you are tall! You seek allies against the Ganth, well that is quite a large population.” You recognize the voice as the one that was singing.

“A better question would be” The mustache man says calming down finally

“Who do you consider your own allies, who to you is friend and foe.” He says

“I am from here. I seek to protect it. Clean it. De’lormosa should not be the target of dumpers or slavers. I seek freedom for the humans here from them. I wish for my people here to thrive, not just survive. I want my family and my tribe free from this cycle. I want my friends to not be afraid of the blood tithe. I want children to not have to worry about hiding, knowing one day their parents may be gone.” You say and the people around you murmur in agreement.

“Well welcome! I am Frank and we are in a similar agreement.” The Mustache man says putting his side arm downtime and extending his hand to you, which you grip. It’s kind of difficult but you manage.

“That’s it?” Meera asks under her breath and you make a motion that your group has learned now to be wary.

“Yeah! Just help us get the hell out of here. Some Ganth will be here in a very short time period and we need these loaded up now. We are going to leave a skeleton crew behind, they are going to sabotage the Ganth when they leave, and then they are going to take off in this hive.” ‘Frank’ says.

“So this city is leaving for good?” You ask

“The dumpers stopped dumping. I don’t think you know what that means.” Frank says and the taller mans eyes widen and gets back to helping people, who are now mostly ignoring you and your group, get back to work on loading.

“It means a nicer planet.” Your uncle says and Frank lets out the most obnoxious laugh you have ever heard. If it is genuine you are a bit concerned for his friends.

“That’s nice. No. It means that the trade between the dumper clans has been cut off. It means the Ganth are going to be desperate. They are going to try to do the mother of all blood tithes at an apocalyptic amount. Personally, we are going to try to gather intelligence in Nuceria, see the whereabouts of the Ganth fleet, maybe olympia, anywhere were they may be lying around to find out what’s got them so scared. Some of these planets are pre space contact, so we have to be careful, not every planet is like this where you guys see stuff coming out of the sky all the time.” Frank says.

“It isn’t actually that frequent anymore.” You say, you quietly press on the comms button to the old man so he can hear this.

“That’s because the Ganth are getting worried. I need to know what that is. I hate em too.” He says
“Well why haven’t you helped the islands before?” Delia asks.
>>
>>4811413
“The surface, has problems, but they try to minimize the surface harvests, they come down here mostly.” Frank says in a tone that is as factual as a person talking about what they ate for breakfast. When they are talking about the slavery of people.

“Wait. Explain that again?” Your uncle says in a very shocked tone.

“It isn’t that I don’t want to help. It’s that they harvest people down here at an industrial scale. They have been doing that for centuries. They use surface people as test beds for body types, example pretty girl right there is clearly a witch from one of the islands where that is the genotemplate. That guy there with the tattoos is clearly a chain islander which are on average much bigger and taller than normal humans, that guy over there is from fuck if I know, not here. And this mountain of a man infront of me looks like something I haven’t seen before. Surface people are more genetic templates. Occasionally they go upside, find a few people, bring them down here, clone and modify them, let them grow cross breed a few for traits, then harvest and to market.” He holds out his hands in thin air.

“How do you know all of this.” You say coldly, a dawning realization coming to you.

“Because I.” He pulls out his sleeve, showing various brands and marks.

“Escaped them. Multiple times. I have been everywhere and fought on multiple fronts just to spite them. My hatred for them is deep. But it’s deeper still for who they sell to. They sell to the Drukhari. They sell to the Black Judges. They sell to Planetary Nobles. They sell to FUCKING ORKS. They sell to the SLAUGTH! I HEARD THEY SELL TO THE RANGDAN!” He screams.

“I have seen A Ganth Noble sell his brother to a Drukhari for some drugs. They weren’t addicted to these drugs. I have seen a Ganth woman, have a child, just to modify and experiment on it before selling it. Somewhere in the past, their entire strain was evolved from ruthless intelligent sociopaths.” Frank says breathing.

“And something, has them scared. So they are acting in greed. I need to find out why. They have a great armada that is one the move, they have weapons platforms that have never been replicated, and troops that, I do not dare talk of.” Frank speaks in a tired voice.

“I do not know you stranger. But, I have seen man made horrors beyond you. I have seen things that would make someone as monstrous as you weep and kneel. I have seen things, things I want forgotten! But I cannot! I must remember, for hate sake, for spite, for those who died who couldn’t die, who had to live!” He says looking at you breathlessly.

“That’s why your welcome to help. How did you come here?” He asks

“By a sub, and we came from a ganth ship, we rechristened and reclaimed her.” You respond

“She voidworthy or just a local vessel?” He asks.

]
>>
>>4811415
“Both the sub, and the ganth ship are voidworthy.” You say not wanting to give too much out.

“We intercepted some of their comms, one of their vessels was lost at sea, they called it the ‘Star Breaker’ it was a rare Pocket Destroyer and Weapons Test Vehicle.”

“My nephew renamed it ‘Something Fierce’” Your uncle Kai says. Causing more than a few laughs.

“Something Fierce.” Franks says looking at you.

“Ya.”

“You a comedian or something too?”

“I Read Book. I Funny.” You say in faux dumb tone causing him to laugh, but Meera laughs a little harder as she is more prone to laughter.

“Look if you can take a few of our refugees, that’s great. If you can help us shoot down the Ganth, that’s better. They will be here soon, if you got that ship- we have a chance. Granted, we need way more ships to be effective against their main fleet. Right now they are just sending in an audit ship.” Frank says.

“An Audit Ship?” You ask

“Highly armed, but they just check a planet, make sure everything is in order, maybe check in on missing ships.” Frank says.

“We have some planetary defenses.” You mention and Frank gives you a quizical look.

“Turrets?”

“Yes.”

“You need a fleet of ships, and boats for when they send in smaller ships, and soldiers.” Frank says.

“We are working on that, we are using what the Dumpers gifted us.” You say and Frank laughs loudly.

“What the dumpers gifted us! HA! You need engines. You need Gellar Fields. If you can make some of that stuff with what the dumpers gave you, you must have a science team.” He says.

“Old man did you get that.” You say on the comms and Frank looks at you dumb founded.

“Ya Kolinasi. My ship as a base, our manufactorum will be up an runnin in a month or two if your friends on the other ship keep doing haulin like this. We get it up an runnin, we can maybe get an engine in a few days. Gellar fields in a week. With how much the dumpas left, I think we can have a few big void ships. Problem is getting people, I can only make so many drones to do this. I cannot really automate too much.” He says.

“Who the hell is that?”

“I used to work in that hive ship.” The old man says. And Frank pauses.

“Kolinasi, I will give you a bargain, if you can help us, we help you.”

“How so Frank?” You ask

“Well, we got a lot that needs to be done. We need someone to escort us to Nuceria or other places to get some intel. We need people to settle refugees. We need help against the Audit Ship. If you can find a way to help us, then help us. You do this, and I will do whatever I can to help you get more ships.” He says.

Nuceria and Olympia? Time to find our bros, save Angron from the nails and Pertubaro from autism.
Also it's quite obvious that the Great Crusade is coming and they are shitting themselves. The dumpers clans and planetary goverments are cutting contact to try and escape judgement, probably to bullshit saying that they were forced to do it or never traded with them in the first place.

I decided to draw a reaver deldar, it seems better to draw it laying down from the side.

“We got a warp drive capable ship, someone who has been to Nuceria, and we are all trained in the basics of survival. I think we could land there, gather some intelligence, move on to Olympia and probably be of the most help that way.” You point out/.

“Yeah but what about the auditor?” Frank asks you and you smile and press on the comms button.

“We have defensive turrets that are strong enough to punch through void armor, right old man?” You

“For the ship they are saying, so long as they have another ship to give chase and draw it in, ya. Ya we can take care of an auditor. Maybe even capture it, the Stonewright has worked on something that could work.” The Old Man says. Frank looks at you quizzically.

“Alright, but you may need something to barter with. They are greedy. I suggest you operate quickly the auditor will be here fast.” he says.

“How do we keep in touch?” You aren’t really certain how his communications work, but you are almost positive you may have the tools to do it. He hands you a list of channels and frequencies for radio- which you are able to do.

“Let us know what your plan is BEFORE you do it!” He says and you smile. He uses humor as a sort of weapon.

“AFTER we execute the plan got it!” You say walking away and he shakes his head and sighs.

You run, you forget that your friends cannot keep up, so you prep the ship while they arrive, and loading some of the weapons that your new ‘machine spirit’ friend has helped you with. Ones the ship is no longer capable of using, and ones that they do not have the crew for.

When your friends arrive, Frank has followed towed in by Yana who is doing a smile for show, that basically indicates that Frank may be a little out of shape.

“You run absurdly fast.” He says breathlessly as he is helped in by Yana, who looks a little less gassed from running and more helping Frank in the room. You hop out of the ship.

“What is it?”

“Here are the star charts. This should help you navigate to where to gather intel. We don’t know exactly where the Ganth come from, as they may not even have a home world.” He says handing some parchment over, which is actually interesting. Then you realize something.

You do not have a Navigator, you are wary to test your experimental “third eye” that you have made these past months, while fixing and restoring Something Fierce to it’s complete glory.

“I trust your navigator can read a chart like that.” He says and you exhale, nervous.
>>
>>4816973
“You don’t have a navigator do you.” Frank states.

“I am working on correcting that issue.” You state telling the truth causing Gela to look incredibly nervous and Meera to look eager. Frank looks up at the roof of the room and lets out a strange noise.

“Of course you don’t! Why can’t anything be easy. I have a rookie Navigator, she will come along with you, along with a rookie astropath, both of which I was planning on having help me with moving this hive city. It’s okay, I have enough to do it, but I believe in the logistians maxim.” He says and you quirk an eyebrow.

“Two is one, and one is none. Always carry a spare.” He says.

“We call it something else.” You say and he shakes his head.

“Then why don’t you have a navigator?” He asks

“I have a technological solution that I can apply. But it only works for me. It’s not something that I am eager to test out on my first trip through the warp.” You state.

“That’s good enough. If you are planning to use both of those ships, you may get a crash course in it though. That sub wouldn’t be the smallest warp capable vessel I have seen, but the ones that I have seen that were smaller either used the webway or had interesting problems.” Frank says appraising the vessel.

Frank makes a few motions with an earpeice and says something outloud that sounds like a codespeak and a few minutes later the Navigator, who is robed and the astropath arrive.

As they get on board the vessel frank looks up at you.

“Please don’t get my friends hurt.” He says very loudly. You nod, and hop in the sub. You do a comms check with franks channel, and you depart for the surface, informing Jera about the new plan.

“Are you prepared for this? Is the crew ready for this?” You ask Jera, as your uncle and honor guard look at you apprisingly.

“Lad. I have wanted to do this my whole life. I am plenty ready. We probably should pick up some goods first, I have already heard chatter, thanks to the old man, all the islands defenses are up ready to go. They are ready to try to capture a ganth vessel, spirits Kolinasi, we are gonna have a space fleet by the time of the tithe aint we?” Jera asks

“That’s the plan.” You state. It is. You are able to do a clean industrialization utilizing the left over tech and the scraps from the Dumpers. With other materials available, plus what’s captured- you know that you could have a fleet that could counter the Ganth.

“Great mate. Just so long as you give all us big men a ship I am all for it. I don’t know where the hell I’m gonna get the Moka for it, but spirit willin Ima gonna.” Jera says causing Your Uncle to giggle.

“Oh what’s so damn funny Kai.” He asks

“Nothing, just knowing how five years ago you were bellyachin about the Goat Moka Ravi Did.” Your uncle says.
>>
>>4816975

“Where in the does a man get that many goats on such a tiny island! I mean goats are hardy, and my home island is full of grass, but I couldn’t fit all of the goats on that boat! Then there were the pigs with it!” Jera pauses during his rant.

“Remember that Moka gonna be your turn in about a year.” Your uncle says gently teasing

“Kolinasi you better get your old man’s brother under control or Ima bout to have a conniption fit. We see you on horizon mate what yer orders?” Jera says causing Delia to laugh and snort.

“Is that sea witch laughin?” He shouts/

“Jera you have a fit every time you fall out of your hammock.” She says and you chuckle at that one.

“Alright everyone easy. We got a lot to do.” You say and a calm falls. You can sense the confidence in everyone, in what would normally be an incredibly tense situation. You are a little excited yourself.

Kolinasi has a lot to do.

Old man, is the Ganth vessel the auditor ship?
If it is than
> Order your crew to get ready to target the Ganth Auditor with long range weapons to weaken it
If it's not than
> Order Jera, and a small team, to go out and prepare a boarding team to capture the Ganth Vessel
> Order your crew to see, and you know it is a long shot, to put out a long band open comm to find some of the knights, see if they will show up to fight the Ganth
The more allies, the better. We need to atleast to send the message to any remnants on the world, if the rest of the house won't come back.

> Order the crew to show around your new navigator and astropath before the warp jump
> Order your crew to be ready to do last minute checks before any jump
These two can be done together, so I will count them as one basically we will have a good jump.

> Go to the Witches Island, go talk with the Stonewright, the Crone, and others- maybe talk to the exiled tribe you keep meaning to get in touch with, but make sure they are ready for what is coming
The Ganth are probably going to do a land invasion on their island because it's the bigger one, better check out if they manages to make their knights work. If not, than atleast we need to activate the weaponry and turn them into a coastal and air-to-air battery.
As much as I want to say goodbye to mom, we need to be ready.

> Inform the chiefs of what is about to happen on network radio, that you may be going to a new planet.
Keep our allies updated

And ensure communication.

That would be correct. The Ganth Auditor is the incoming vessel. Which is technically a human ship that has been used by the Ganth.

Ok than, just wanted to make sure if we were talking about a big one or a smaller one, since it would make a difference between a boarding crew succeding in taking it over or not.

Imagine being a proud member of an ancient race, serving your Kabal for millenia as a Trueborn, only for a giant half-naked Monkeigh to hit you like a skimmer crash. Also there's now sand inside your armour, so not only do you have to die ashamed and in pain, but uncomfortable as well.

The work is beautiful. The third, actually looks like the most representative of my vision with the tattoo work.

The lack of people is kinda scary to me though. The lack of people these past two days has me on high alert, but the Necklace was a nice touch with the colors.

And it's 45-60 from the 30th of April, supposedly before I get further news because yay three letter agency related government jobs.

You give your orders: Prepare to fire and target the Ganth Auditor with the long range weapons to weaken it, make it possible for a team to take it. This order is taken well by the crew.

Your second order, is met with some skepticism.

“Put out on a wide ban communication- ask the knights, to help. Tell them of what is going on. Inform them the Ganth are coming. Not the mercenaries they hire, the actual Ganth. Maybe that will get their attention.” When you say it, Rongo, who in addition to the ships chef has also become the comms guy, gives you a skeptical look. You have two big hearts, and you, remember your fathers advice to listen to others and consider their voice.

“I know it’s a long shot Rongo. We gotta try.” You say and he nods but then looks at youngest

“It may be a long shot, but what if they respond? How you think they gonna act about us using the subs and their knight house?” He says

“One island at a time.” You say and he shrugs.

“One island at a time. Also we gotta find an island for those goats we got.” Rongo says reminding you of another one of your big man duties, that you haven’t been shirking on, actually to quite the contrary, you have been especially effective. Your third order is taken to instantly, prepare for a warp jump, but show the new navigator and astropath around before hand.
The Astropath and Navigator are incredbily nervous around you. You are not sure why yet, but it will probably fade in time.

As you walk back to the bridge, Jera is hovering over the wheel

“Where to Kolinasi?” He asks

“We goin to the witches island”

“Ah. Ya think the Ganth are gonna try to go there?”

“Ya. Only a handful of islands where they can land at to audit. I’d start there. Where the most resistance is and where there is a lot of land.” You point to what you see as the obvious point of entry in this scenario.

“Rightya” He gives a quick shaka and the two helms men get the ship moving forward. You walk over to the communications officer.

You relay to all chiefs over the ham radio what is going on and you give frank via comms information to connect to the chiefs.

“ Kolinasi’s first real test against a foe was the first encounter with the Ganth. It would show how he would handle many threats in the future, though in some aspects it was an interesting hint at how things would go in the crudade.”

Malcador the Sigilite.

As you depart the boat quickly with your honor guard the Stonewright, Crone, and a figure that makes everyone around seem off ease, a woman in all black and a black hood.

It isn’t as disturbing to you, but you can, having read your history guess what she would be- a pariah. A psychic blank. Something that was only briefest of mentioning.

You walk up to the small group that has assembled.

“Your father informed us. You think they will make planetfall here?” The Crone mother asks.

“Ya.” You respond in simplest terms.

“How is the honor guard performing?” The Crone mother asks walking up to meet you.

“They perform extremely well. They are able to do more than their part.” You say and she seems to grin at that, before looking dourly at the figure in black.

“Those of the Shadow, wished to come and help. They arrived, they said that we would need them today, and well they are here.” She says looking annoyed.
You look upon her. There is something unsettling, but it doesn’t seem to put you on edge as much as others. You appraise her.

“Greetings.” You say and she nods.

“Greetings.” She says back in the most enigmatic tone you have heard, at least sense learning the existence of the word enigmatic. So at least since Four months ago. Karlan stonewright takes your hand and smiles.

“How’s the stonehall looking?”

“It’s lookin great!” Karlan says with a smile

“Still haven’t really found anyone to pilot the knights yet, though the big one looks like it requires someone your size.”

“That would be interesting.” You doubt that was the intent of your maker, but a knight that looks like it was meant for a primarch seems almost too good to pass up.

“What is your plan?” The Crone asks, and you explain to the three in great detail your plans, which they seem very happy to agree to and is easier to work seeing as this is one of the few islands that you can see only island on the horizon and not ocean. They are less than impressed by the fact that the GEVs will likely have to be used, but they have been given enhanced weaponry since you were last here.

Delia seems to linger with you longer than most of the honor guard after you are done discussing things with Karlan and the Crone. Lately she has been, acting more affectionately. You treat with everyone well, and you think it’s more that she enjoys your company in a friendly fashion.

“So we got a trap set?” She asks

“Ya. I am almost certain they are gonna come in this way.”

“Any response from the knights?” She asks

“None yet. Frank responded to us first and said that he has spotted the auditor ship on his scope, this wasn’t too long ago. It should be planet side not too long.” You say

“You know Jera is gonna want that Auditor for himself.” Delia says.

“First Mate/Quartermaster gets first dibs on a captured ship.” You say siting the code book that Jera made you read, which honestly took a few minutes to memorize.

“What do you think Frank will have to say about that?” Delia asks

“I don’t know Frank that well, but I imagine he will at least have something to say. Sinking a ship is one thing, capturing it is another. However many are on that ship, if we can get them on to land and their forces out of it- we can capture it. I don’t think the Ganth will be expecting what’s coming though.” You smile
“What devious strategy do you have in store for them big man?” Delia says with a grindstone

“Get the Honor Guard. Everyone got a roll.” You say and she smiles and goes off to get the rest.

___

What is the strategy to deal with the Ganth? You can pick four.

> Draw them out of their ship, use it against them

> Fight them on land, but draw them to the shores where your GEVs can be more effective

> Draw them out into the valleys where you can take the higher ground

> Strike from beneath the waves with your submarine

> Position the Ship opposite side the island, perform a pincer maneuver

> Lure the Ganth on a chase, weaken them as they pursue

> Use electronic warfare take away their technical advantage

__

What roles do you have your honor guard pursue in combat?

>Write ins only!

__

Where do you position yourself for your first real battle Kolinasi?

> At the front like a soldier

> At your ship like a captain

> In that knight like , well, a knight?

> Behind your enemy, like an assassin

> In the middle, like a big man

> On the Surf, like you.

Try to weaken them as much as possible before they land. Without a chain of command, high tech and numbers, they are just a horde of mutant junkies. Dangerous, but manageable.

>Everyone of ours honour guards take the their positions. The warrior will join on the boarding against the auditor ship, the diplomat will be on the comms relaying orders and keeping our allies together, the pilot will be on the sub or one of the GEVs doing the the strike and awe, and the technician will be running the eletronic interferance.

> At your ship like a captain
In this plan, It's where we need to be to better coordinate the maneuvers. Also we need to be the bait to draw the Ganth, and there is no way that we would ask someone else to do it.

Just to let you guys know, if you had chosen the straight up space battle, you would be doing this in space- no ground support or capture options. So doing this option as a sort of secondary battle measure before going to gather intel was a good move.
>>
>>4825489
What would have been the straight up space battle? The harrass option? Immediatly trying to board it? All of them at the same time? Going to another island instead of planning to fortify the witche's island (I forgot the fucking name)?
Or was it the prepare for battle option after we talked with Frank?

I'm working on the Ganth, he ended up way less wide than a space marine and closer to a fat human, and I'm probably leaning on the techno-barbarian mutant too much over the cyborg soldier part, but it's coming along.
