Vritra yells out the name of her Noble Phantasm just in time for Orochi to finally recover his eyesight, and the moment she does, a great darkness spreads out from beneath Vritra's feet, like a spillage of ink on the floor, the darkness rapidly stains all that it touches, but leaves Suzuka behind when it passes over her, from where you're standing, it looks like the fox eared woman is erased and consumed by the darkness, but in truth it's likely that she can't even see the ever expanding darkness as it grows to expand around Vritra, Orochi and yourself.

When the darkness has completely cut the three of you off from the rest of the world, the darkness shifts in color to blinding bright white, and Vritra disappears entirely. You're alone facing off against Orochi, and you can very much feel a great deal of strength surging through your body, further bolstered by the Sash of Ares. This is... incredible! You look at Orochi and smirk, the giant dragon's heads all look downwards at you.

"SHINJI! DO YOU THINK THAT YOU CAN DEFEAT ME WITH THIS?!" The eight heads roar in unison, the voice inhuman and furious. "DID YOU REALLY THINK YOU COULD SEAL ME WITH SOMETHING LIKE THIS?!" Ah, looks like the sealing aspect of the Noble Phantasm hasn't managed to seal the powers of a Beast, though that's something you sort of expected. It was never going to be that easy, was it? Still, you'd like to know where the hell Vritra is! Because for as strong as you feel right now, you're not entirely confident in your ability to survive eight Anti-Country attacks being directed at you at the same time.

You brace yourself to attempt to avoid the attacks, but Orochi has finally stopped growing now, and you underestimate just how large the beast truly is. Even a single one of the heads is like a mountain itself! You can't dodge something like that! Then... maybe a barrier of truth? You have time to create one this time, but could it really hold up against an Anti-Country attack? You think it might be able to, but before you can find out for yourself, a great white mass of scale and muscle smashes into the black scales of Yamata-no-Orochi, pushing the gigantic dragon backwards. You get a better look at the tremendously large dragon that has shown up to assist you, and you quickly realize that this is Vritra's current form. The dragon brings its head to the ground to look at you with one of its eyes, Vritra in her current state is absolutely enormous. The nature of her Noble Phantasm meaning that her size as a dragon is effectively something that she herself can choose within this world of hers. She's still smaller than Yamata-no-Orochi is in her current form, but she herself is like a mountain herself, one of her eyes alone is nearly the size of Alítheia. Seems like she's waiting for your decision on how to attack Orochi.

You make your decision quite rapidly. Vritra might basically be the size of a mountain right now, but your Riding Skill has no size limit. Especially thanks to Alítheia's blessing, which seems to have given you the uncanny ability to somewhat telepathically communicate with dragons you are riding, though it's more a simple method to allow you to give them orders and requests. It's not something so complete as an actual system of communication, unfortunately. It's a one way system that is normally only meant for the use of controlling lesser dragons, and on Dragons like Vritra or Alítheia, it's more a system of mental suggestion. While you can ride Vritra to a degree where she can't throw you off, if she didn't want to follow your orders, she simply wouldn't.

With that in mind, you leap hundreds of meters into the air thanks to the immense empowerment your body has currently undergone and stand on the top of Vritra's head. Honestly, she's so huge right now that she probably can't even feel you. Does this even count as riding her? Honestly. Well, there seems to have been an established mental link between the two of you, so it seems that at least something has happened here.

Orochi doesn't take long to recover to the hit he just received from Vritra, sending three of his eight heads to gouge at her flesh, but Vritra deftly takes a step backwards to avoid the attacks, not one of them manages to even scratch the shining white scales of the huge Dragon of Eternity. It seems that despite Orochi having the strength, size and even speed advantage in this battle, not to mention the fact that with his eight long necked heads he can attack eight times to every one of Vritra's attacks, he isn't actually doing all that well against Vritra! The reason however is quite clear, if this were the actual true Yamata-no-Orochi, the battle would be far more one-sided, but this is Zolgen Makiri controlling the body of Yamata-no-Orochi. Whereas Orochi's instincts would help him in his battles, for Zolgen, he is having to effectively figure out the best way to control the body of the beast all by himself.

So, compared to Vritra, who has all the experience in her current form that she could ever need, it's really no doubt that when it comes to fighting skill in their current forms, Vritra is very much the dominant fighter in this battle. Though she did choose not to make herself too big, it seems. Meaning there's either an upper limit to how large she can grow, or she simply didn't want to give Orochi the opportunity to strike at a bigger slower target. You continue giving Vritra suggestions for how to act while you stand on top of her head with your arms crossed, kind of disappointed that you can't do more to help for the sake of this battle. But then again, what exactly can you do here? You're basically just observing two mountains vie for dominance in a world of pure white. It's clear from Vritra's inability to really even damage Orochi though, that this isn't a battle that can be won even here. In fact, the only reason for Vritra to continue fighting Zolgen here is so that he doesn't realize that if he were to simply target the world confining him, he could tear his way out of Vritra's Noble Phantasm. So the distraction is very much necessary. Unfortunately, due to the blocking nature of Vritra's Noble Phantasm though. You aren't capable of communicating to any of your allies, all communication has been cut off.

Orochi is clearly getting frustrated by being continually out maneuvered by his flying opponent, and Vritra, seeing a chance to strike Orochi once again, begins to speed downwards, intending to try to bite one of his heads off through severing the flesh of the neck, even if Orochi's body is immensely durable, that much should be capable of at least continuing to distract him, right?

It's at that moment, however, that all eight of Orochi's heads suddenly crane upwards to face Vritra, and each of them have their mouths open, a great glowing white heat emanating from each and every one of them, and before Vritra can successfully complete her attack, eight white hot pillars of flame are being sent racing towards you and the dragon you are riding. Each of the pillars is like a tremendous volcanic eruption, this is the sort of attack that would spell death for anything that it hit.

Why not have Vrita quickly revert to smol form and shield you both? Trying to make a mountain sized dome is going to either kill us or be weak af. concentrate all that power into a smaller barrier and maybe even go as far as to fall into Orochi's mouth, let him swallow, then make a second bubble around ourselves and have Vrita get YUGE again, making him explode from the inside out, potentially revealing Kusanagi and more likely forcing him to spend a lot of time regenerating

Currently Shinji is operating with Vrita's stats due to her RM, so this is the baseline:

Parameters:

Based on the difference between Hippolyta and Alcides' stats, and her punching Alcides through a mountain under the effects of Goddess of War it's going to be at least a full rank of boost above the aforementioned stats, and that's in Snowfield where Mystery is weak.

We're in INS so the modern scuffing of it's buffs should be gone or reduced, so potentially more than a full rank up.

So right now Shinji is operating with EX Mana with another full rank buff from Goddess of War, which might even be two rank ups as he absorbs the Divinity buff as just raw Mana instead.

So actually contrary to what I said earlier, he basically has a near unlimited amount of Mana at this point, it's not even quantifiable it's just effectively whatever the maximum output of his circuits can release.

Why not a Truth Beam in conjunction with Vrita's breath attack?

It's two EX Mana beams with Goddess of War buffing one even further vs Orochi's vanilla EX, spread across 8 heads.

He also has by word of the update, poor control of his form so he might not be able to actualise the full output of Orochi as Zouken has never been one for unga bunga beamu

And conservatively Shinji is currently operating with this kind of statsheet under Goddess of War, but seeing as how parameters are fucky with a + denoting double I'm not sure how to treat it. TL Anon wanna correct this if 'm wrong?

Orochi is thousands of times bigger than us, so unless we can create a beam of immense size we won't be able to stop Orochi's beams.
Instead, we should have Vrita counter his beam while we attack Orochi's heads directly with our deletion ray.

Why not a wall in front of us? and just hydraulic press him into the ground while also shielding against the beam? Have Vrita beam as propulsion? He's standing in a void of nothing too so it's not like he's pushing against the floor or anything. Just splat a giant chunk of him and it'll cost less to maintain than a fullsize bubble which might not be able to be sustained due to the output cap we have based on circuit count.

Or we could do the have Vrita go smol, Truth Bubble around us both so it's super fucking strong, let him eat us inside the bubble then explode him internally by just continuing to expand the bubble outwards?
