Setting is a part of a Wider post-post-apocalyptic fantasy world. This speciffic part of the world is reminiscent of a mix of opium crisis china mixed with morrowind and australia. The Quest will be about starting art as a Slave and climbing your way up, trough joining a Martial Arts sect.

You're riding a caged carriage as goblins and hobgoblins all around you keckle. It is raining, and you starving. There is 6 of you in the slave transport, whether you like it or not you got to know each other because of your circumstances:

> 1. Nuninuya Skuinkijuk
A 42 year old (equals about 16 yo human) female First elf, from the Inengu tribe. She used to be of high birth before the Khan's forces arrived and conquered her people's.

> 2. Urzas
A 12 year old human boy from the Southern Teme, Khanate. he's missing a hand for it was cut off when he was caught stealing bread when starving.

> 3. Maragos Sa
A 14 year old from the Kazai tribes, captured by goblin raiders due to the lack of care Kaza khan shows his people, he knows how to practice basic nature magic, but hid it from the others.

4. Sijong
A 11 year old from the recently collapsed Nijeong Dynasty. Having been a normal peasant his family cared little for the war until his father and older brothers were forcefully Drafted. The Khan killed them and for good measure his village was raided where he was captured as a slave. Has a weird voice talking to him in his head which he calls "the Demon".

5. Qi'hyo
The Red-Oni sister, she's 23 which translates to 15 in human years. She has little talent in magic and intellect, but lots of brawn and is good at heart.

6. Hi'kyo
Qi'hyo's Blue Twin sister, talented in magic and manipulative.

You're all being transported to Qi-fu, known as the Sick man of Eastralia, except Sijong and Urzas all other's are rare luxury goods likely meant to be sold to Belaran (european'ish) merchants, Eastralian Nobility or Oni Crimelords at a high price.

Choose which one of the 6 you are. That will be the Quest's protagonist, the rest will become NPC's. (standard, first 3 answers which agree, decide)

That Seals the Deal.

As the Slave cart nears the Qi-Fu - Khanate border, Belaran merchant Company flags are raised to pass the warzone safely. Riding on it becomes apparent this place is a hot warzone corpses of soldiers strewn around with greedy peasants looting the equipment like the vultures they are. Stopping at walled gates of raw size unknown to simpple steppe peopl's as yourself you see corpses of Khanate soldiers piled up. This sight is disgusting to you, but your fellow slave's eyes seem to be glowing at the sight. After all, to us the Soulriders of the Khan seemed invincible, here there is piles of them rotting away.

The Auction house for slaves is deep within the city. You'd know because the ride as long, you would not know exactly where because the cart was covered up.

The surprise came during the auction itself, as when it came the turn of you 6 to be sold it was not a Belaran collector who bought you or a Nobleman, but an old robed man with a mysterious presence. All 6 of you, he brought you to a house of sorts. Very big, but mostly empty. There was a few people there practicing martial arts around. You were told to start doing chores like cleaning:

Slowly trying to dance around to the weird movements outside you see yourself tiring out. Even though the movements seem simple they are very tiring, but they bring an odd peace to your mind which makes you want to continue. Before you know it hours have passed before you feel a soft 'thud' on the back of your head and land face-first on the floor. You stand up holding your bleeding nose only to see 'Master'.

"Being eager to train is nice and all, but it's not going to keep the floor clean is it? You will finish your work no, sleep or dinner beforehand."

After that master instructed one of the older students to watch you as you do the cleaning... cleaning now? You're so exhausted you could collapse!

"That's practice for the Way of Flame, though you were doing them so badly we wondered if you were mocking us. Good that you kept at it for 5 hours or you'd get your ass whooped."

Hearing this you'd be rather surprised, you're an oni, right? There were only maybe 10-11 humans and Hobgiblins outside how could they hope to beat you?

The older boy seeing your obvious bewilderment, seemingly sensed your question. "You know, hubris like this is the reason why in over 3000 years of history of martial arts there was not a single Oni Grandmaster. Here, chew on this it will restore your energy then you can see how little being an oni matters against me."

The first day was certainly eventful. After chewing on the weird leaf, the cleaning is done quickly. The older boy doesn't insist either just calls you a 'bore', something you're very much not okay with.

You go to bed full of energy in fact so full of it, you keep bothering your sister all night and neither of you get much sleep. She certainly does not seem happy about that, in fact she did does not even want to talk to you!

(I'm not sure what is meant by 2 options being picked so i'll treat it as being okay with either)
> 3. hang out with the other 4 slaves

That showed her. If she's ignoring me, I'll just ignore her back. Seems the other 4 are adapting well to the place. The 'Master' seems to have sensed potential in Nuni and Sijo, Urzi and Marago also say people are nice here. They got some honey cookies after dinner because they did well cleaning. Aaaaah.... am i really the only one who screwed up?

Urzi and Marago... i need to ask them how to clean well. I want some honey cookies too... they actually shared with the others, but they ate all of them by the time I came back...

After talking to Maragos Sa and getting no real explanation for how he cleaned so well you headed to Urzas, he was more friendly. You did notice though that there seemed to be bits of jewelry poking out from under his pillow... later in the day the Master and older students seemed to be looking for something... even a dunce like you should know what's going on, shouldn't she?

It's been an hour, so I'll just move forward with these 2 answers.

As lean it to pick up a pebble you instinctively, go for two instead. In an odd throwing motion the pebbles fly forward. One Urzas doges as it flies past his head, the other hits the back of his knee making him fall onto the floor, before you catch up to him and restrain him.

"I'll share with you! let me go and i'll share with you the gems should be enough to buy all our freedom, mine your and your sisters. Don't you want to be free?"

The boy would squirm around, but you can easily restrain him.

1. Agree to his deal and share the gems
2. Bring him to the Master.
3. Don't report him. Just take the jewelry and put it in some obvious spot so it's easily found.
4. Write in
----------------------------------
A) Scold Urza and scream at him because stealing is wrong and all of you will get into troubble because of it.
B) Hug him and comfort in. "Now that we're here you don't need to steal."
C) Tie him up somewhere without saying much, because you don't really know what to say.
D) Write in.

With this after 8 solid hours we finally got 3.

As you move in to hug and comfort Urzas the younger boy is squeemish and confused. He hugs you back, but then blushes heavily and wrangles himself free all embarassed. Being the airhead you are you don't think much of it. He okay's your plan to just leave the jewels in the open, but thinks that likely all of us will be punished when they are found... and once the plan does trough that does happen.

The master of course wants to know the culprit and announces that unless he is revealed everyone will be lashed, including the upper class students... and they in the very least know it's one of the newcommers.

> 1. Tell the other 4 what happened and ask them to all keep quiet.
> 2. Allow Urzas to confess and bear the brunt of the punishment. (he wants to do it rather than let the other's be punished)

Before any lashings take place Urzas confesses himself to the Master. The boy is shaking afraid what may come next, he already lost a limb, it would be scary to loose another... or what if he's killed?

The punishment luckily is... moderate let's say. A hundred lashes with a spiked whip. With all the students including you 5 there to watch. Urzas returns to your sleeping quarters only with your help. He manages to sleep trough the night thanks to some herbs you managed to get from that older student from before.

After the incident you and Urzas actually become friends while the fight with your sister is wearing heard on both of you. After some weeks it's finally time to start martial arts training. The training is a simple task. You have to carry a young shuang beetle every day in the morning to the top of the grazing fields and down in the evening to the sleeping chainbers. Right now the beetles are about the size of a cat, but in 5 years when fully grown they are the size of a large cow or small Elephant. You in earnest continue your work and study. What will you dedicate your free time too?

Even if sister one is close Shuang Beetles got first to three.

Each time after training and chores you go to the Shuang beetles early. They are not the smartest critters, but they can run pretty fast and even play tag with. You even named your beetle, it's Okhi'ya. Even tried telling your sister about it, but she only used ilusion magic to make her face look like a monster to scare you, now you're deffinetly not saying sorry!

Either way playing with the beetles is fun, you can't really pet them though as it feels no different than caressing a rock. There is one more which spends time with the beetles is Maragos Sa. He seems to be really good with animals, you also think you might have seen him use magic once. You're not sure though.

> 1. Befriend Maragos and try to learn about his magic
> 2. Learn how to ride a Shuang Beetle on

While playing with the Beetles is fun, what could be more fun than having a friend around when doing so? Maragos was always one of the more reclusive ones and often acted as an older-brother-like figure to the other boys, which looks pretty funny as he's the shortest.

Trying to get him to open up is no easy task and a surprise hug only got him angry... but it worked so well on Urzas...

Either way the two of you eventually bond thanks to tending to Shuang Beetles and he even shows you his nature magic. he tries to show you... but here your lack of talent for it comes into play. You nervously laugh it off, but it was always something which ate away at you. Oni are the most magically talented race, able to wield ilusion magic since birth... but not you. Ah, whatever. You move on and wrestle him into submission because you may not me the magiciest, but you are the strongest!

Maybe Maragos and your sister could become good friends, both are mages after all.
---------------------
In the middle of the night you wake up your sister. She puts up an illusion of the meanest Ogre she can.

"Hi... this is no time for jokes there's an intruder."

"Oh, so now you're talking to me."

"But you were the one who didn't talk to me."

"You were the one at fault. So you should say sorry first."

Grumbling under your breath you do apologize... after all your sis couldn't sleep because of you... yes... you also agree to be hencefourth carrying your sisters beetle up the mountain.

You two go check the situation out and it seems to be a hobgoblin. He's stealing from the medicine-cabinet, screaming about Beans.

Maybe a bit too confident from having wrestled Maragos you lunge forward at the man, but as you do he dissolves into thin air. Not like illusions do... this feels different. As in kunai already stabbed in your back different.

You get ahold of yourself, but the fight is rather brief, really only your sister's illusions protecting you from blows which otherwise could be much more dangerous. You finally get one good punch in, which seems to make the Beanman more conscious. He dissapears once more and is gone along with the Xuxu bean bag from the medical cabinet. You are bruised all over, but can walk and got one of the assailant's teeth. Moving to tell master you two find him asleep, and as you slowly push him awake and explain the situation he sights in disappointment. The assailant is one known to them a former student who became addicted to the Xuxu beans and even after being kicked out came back multiple times to raid for the drug. You two are given medical attention and told to go to bed. Would you like to ask anything during the first aid?

> 1. No, just take the situation in and go to bed.

The old master pats your head. "You'll get there. The key is patience, the path of the martial artist is less about warfare, more about ascendant perfection of oneself. Though I am not ignorant of the fact that such reasoning is too much for you. We will start Way of the Spirit training in a few months once your bodies are ready. Don't feel like you need to fight yourself there is many people here who can and will help. if you keep going as you are you're going to become strong, do not worry about that. For now i'll allow you kids to each carry a knife in case of emergencies."

As you leave you can't help, but hug your sister. What had happened was scary, nearly as scary as when you two were kidnapped. A few consolation hugs later you are back in your bed. you thank your sister for her help and go to sleep. As you fall asleep you can see a feint smile on her usually emotionless face.

Of course the next day you tell Urzas and Maragos about what happened... of and Hi'kyo still has you carry up her beetle too up the mountain in-spite of your injuries.

It luckily does. *13h not 30

The next few months pass peacefully the you and your 3 friends meet every day after cleaning duty on the Shuang beetle pasture, play with them a bit and then have a sparing session. Urzas being the youngest and well... disabled has a hard time keeping up. In fact he only wins if someone let's him. Maragos can hold his own, but only when he uses his magic, mainly using the grass under our feet to trip and disorient his opponent. My sister as usual relies on her illusion magic. Will I ever figure out to not tire myself out by punching the illusions!? Either way all of us have managed to become somewhat stronger which is nice.
---------------------------
Seeing the shadowy displays and weapon based training of the Hobgoblin foot soldiers you can't help yourself but ask a few of them. Sneaking up to a nicer looking one you peak out your head and start with a friendly "Hello."

"Who are you and what do you want?"

"I'm a disciple here, recently arrived and wanted to ask about your fighting style."

You'd learn that the hobgoblins practice what is known as the style of the Moon, of course they claim it is the best form of Martial arts. It focuses on fighting in the Dark and when outnumbered with the use of various weapons.
The hobgoblins are not very friendly otherwise and when their supervisor comes he chases you away.
-------------------------------------------
Your own training. A few months after that it is time to start training martial arts in ernest. Master has started an introduction on the Way of the Spirit. The most basic martial art which let's one surpass the limitations of their body, though while most Martial Arts academies only let you specialize once you've mastered the Way of the Spirit our Master known as the Serpent of the West thinks one should start specializing in a style from the very beginning. Thus it will be time for you to choose.

> 1. Way of the Flame - tries to put enemy at disadvantage by attacking at the same time from multiple directions, utilizing whole body

> 2. Stone - uses battlestances to its fullest potential, always trying to stand firmly, and put enemy out of balance.

> 3. Sun - derived from Flame, focuses on honor as a way to victory, and teaches how to use sword and shield, and how to utilize both to fullest offensive ability.

> 4. Moon - derived from the way of the Flame, created by hobgoblins as means to fight more numerous oponents. It favours cunning and secrecy, teaching stealth and how to use weapons of assasins.

> 5. Way of Iron - it adapts powerstancing known from way of stone, while focusing on endurance, and strength training, and focusing on not defeating, but killing the enemy.

> 6. It disregarded more barbaric ways of iron, while still building on top of them. Steel fist style is still lethal, because of usage of metal gloves at all times.

> 7. Stick to the Way of the spirit. It's too soon to choose.

Master believes a way focused on raw power rather than finesse will fit you better, such as the way of Stone, Steel First or Sun.
------------------------------
Having come out of the lesson Urzas stayed behind longer and came to you in private later. Master has told him that his body is too frail and with his disability he has little chance of becoming a martial artist, but he has shown a keen intellect. Master is willing to recommend him as a Scholar at the center of the martial arts world. Urzas has come to you to ask what to do:

A) Stay with us and practice martial arts. i'm sure you can make it.

B) Maybe you would make a better Scholar. I'll miss you, but I promise I'll come visit as soon as I can.

Urzas thanks you and tells you he'll miss you and then just stands there awkwardly. Your little brain quickly notices what is going on and give him a big hug, you two then go your separate ways.

The next day everyone announces their choice to the Master. You have chosen the way of the Steel fist, Nuninuya the wasy of the Sun, Maragos the Way of stone, Sijong the way of the Moon and your sister the way of the Moon as well. After class you receive a set of heavy metal gloves. You are to wear them at all times even when sleeping to get used to the extra weigh... no worries the real thing actually weighs less. this is for training.

A few days later Urzas would leave and training would start. A mix of combat training, cultivation of the inner soul and individual technique training. What will you focus on?

You choose to focus on what is physical over what is spiritual, and over what works as compared to the old techniques. Pretty soon the base of your combat form becomes akin to boxing emphasizing positioning and hitting hard. You move with the momentum of your punches swirling around the opponent disorienting them. In spite of one would think powerstancing is, at least in this form it is neither bulky or slow. When attacking you float like a piece of paper while when defending you're immovable as a rock. This is the essence of the Steel fist.

Years pass and the two beetles of your sister have grown to be the size of cows, yet you hop the mountain up with them as if they were feathers. The 3 of you sometimes still lounge around on the pasture remembering your early days in the Sect. You've finally ascended to the next rank now having juniors of your own doing silly things, but most importantly! Starting today you can go out into the city!

What will you see in the city?

It's your first time out really, so it's more so time to have fun. Your sister says she has her own things to do so it's just you and Maragos. Even though he's still short he looks older and more mature than you. Maybe that's because you're rather childish or it's just how it is with the shorter lived humans.

The food here is much less healthy, but a 100 times more tasty. Mi Guan Honey cookies, Kangaroosaurus bacon, Fried Koalapanda paws and and a beverage made by mixing milk blood, Xuxu bean and Mi Guan honey. It honestly get's you rather lightheaded.

Since then memories mostly just flash in and out. You won an arm wrestling competition. Got some wine. By the time you wake up you are passed out inside a jailcell with Maragos wiping off puke... presumably yours from the floor swearing in his native language. It seem's you've broken some common decency laws and your friend was left to 'minimise the damages'. Suprisingly though you are left out as soon as things simmer down, being an oni lady no cop would want to risk you being related to the local crime lords. rather you get an spologetic explanation that they only took you in to guarantee your safety and things like that. Time to head back to the Sect.

After the one time escapade you return to earnest training. You don't overdo it like last time, but the occasional sip of "bean juice" let's you push yourself beyond the limit and you take Nuninuya's spot as nr. 2 within your year. Sijong having solidified himself as nr. 1.. Though you have a feeling your sister is nr. 5 only because she wants to be there... either way. Your training is going well, and you 5 have grown far enough to participate in your first Ranking Ceremony. It's a series of mock battles to determine each other's streangth. it consists of a written test on the subjects of cultivation, a mock battle and a display of technique.

Focusing on technique unsurprisingly also helps you develop your combat ability further and luckily your muscle memory is not as bad as your real memory, so you manage to improve considerably.

The written exam takes place as well and as expected you take last place among your peers, but you managed to get a better score than two of the younger students. Other's were not as impressed with your achievement as you were.

You are also pretty confident in your combat ability. Tomorrow being the day of your first fight. It's against Nuni, so you're nervous... though you're not allowed to go out now. You're really starting to miss your Bean Beaverage, it helped you move forward with your training faster so you're worried you might do badly without it the next day:

1) Sneak out into the city to get some Bean Beaverage

Now you remember that intruder from long ago... is this what you've become? For months you have been deluding yourself that if it's just a sip it will do nothing until you have been partaking in the beverage nearly daily and ironically now that you can't have it you truly feel it. You're addicted, and however it may be tempting to say you'll stop after the test... the only way to end it is to end it now. So you will yourself trough the withdrawal and try to force yourself to sleep. Though you really don't.

To say that the fight the next day is not your best performance is an understatement. Your once shark movements become sluggish and punches that would usually barely tickle you hurt so bad you want to collapse. Nuni wins, beating you at your own specialization. You at least manage to hold out puking until you're out of the arena.

Having lost in the first round the next day you fight the other looser, Maragos who lost to your sister. The withdrawal is still weighing heavy on you, but you do manage to fight him to a draw.
Your sister beats up Nuni... a bit too aggressively maybe, but eventually looses to Sijong.

The Technique exam is a week later and you get a solid 3rd place... sadly having messed up both the written and combat exam that leaves you with the overall worst grade by far. The Master has decided you will be undergoing additional training with the younger recruits. Still be happy because you managed to nip the addiction in the bud before it spiraled out.

'repeating a year' what do you do?
1.) Do your chores and training, but hang out with your old friends like before.
2.) Work extra hard on your own to succeed better in the exam next year

Recovered and fired up you put in double the effort, both redoing the training you've been lacking in and also in secret keeping up with all the training of your former peers.

You feel like for the first time really you are improving past just the path laid out in front of you. One day when your body moves in perfect unison, footwork, back, hips chest and arms you feel and hear it a "bam' as you punch the air. Intrinsically you understand that to be a master is to punch every time like this.

On another note there seems to be someone else training overtime, it's Sijong. Even though he was the youngest one by far when you first arrived he now looks about your age. His training is odd, it looks as if he was being trained by someone following someone's instructions. There is also this black smoke... you've never seen him use it.

What will you do with that knowlege:

1) Learn from the best - copy his movements and techniques in secret, spy on him... a bit
2) Ask to join in openly. Y'all buds after all.

Sijong was always a bit different from the others, keeping to himself. As you approach him he seems at first overtly hostile, as if ready to attack you on sight, but in an odd way he calms down quickly and asks.

Sijong thinks for a bit. "That's a really simpleminded answer. Something you could hear a little kid say." It is rare for you to be told so straightforwardly that you are childish, but it's really not a secret to you or anyone else.

Still what he said is not a no, so you inquire further about joining his training. "You're a good person. You should not walk the path I do, but if you insist I will allow you to spar with me at my full power. For that though you need to sign a Pact trough Quaili.

"That just sounds like an excuse not to be careful. Fine though, I can deal with it. It's just a one-time thing after all."

A few days later you meet and are ready to fight. As the fight starts out Sijong uses only what you've seen from him in the tournament and to even your own surprise you are actually faring better than him. not only keeping up with his movements but in many ways overwhealming him with your own speed, a rare feat for the more defense and raw power focused stone-school derived arts. Though you start noticing the smoke. It's there. He's using it as shields when taking your blows and then a beam of white light fleshes next to your head. Now it was as if fighting another person. Using what seemed to be magic wholely unknown to you he integrated it into his fighting style... this is not a match to be won.

You close in the distance, dancing around and firing off consecutive punches so close to Sijong it becomes hard to move. not only are your punches weaker, but his meas and Moon Art's weapons become near unusuable. Slowly the fight becomes an all out slugfest, but slowly you become exhausted and incapable of breathing as the density of the black smoke grows ever more. Until you eventually collapse, waking up after a few hours you find yourself with bandages around your wait covering a large hole and a stick securing your broken arm. "That was a fun fight" you cough up black smoke as you say so.

Part of his power definitely was magic, but magic you've never heard off before.

After the events of the fight, you'd return to your chores saying you fell down the mounting while carrying Shuang beetles, no one really belived you, but they didn't pry. Soon wwould come the time of the yearly visit to the main temple, your former classmates would finally be advanced enough in their studies to go, only you and the younger students would stay along with Master's assistant and a hired retinue of soldiers to guard the place in his absence.

Bummed out a little bit, you dedicate yourself to training with the soldiers. You need to make sure to go next year after-all.

As with Qi-Fuan swords for hire it's an arrangement of hobgoblins and humans. Hobgoblins as usual have a nasty attitude but tend to be the more challenging opponents and once they figure out how strong you are they are happy to train against you. There is few among them which can stand up to your fighting prowace and those who do are moon Style practitioners who frankly pale in comparison to Sijong, oddly enough though you do actually find a rival in Shei-Hu a woman wielding destruction magic, mostly specializing in fire and combustion.

Even if you're quick, ranged combat is still a weak-point of the most tanky stone-derived schools.

What will you focus on in your training?
> 1) Diversity - learn how to fight using military weapons, learn how to fight like a soldier not just martial artist
> 2) Mass combat - face off against the soldiers en masse and learn how to deal with a large number of weaker oponents

You've been studying with the younger students for months now, but haven't really acclimated to them. Maybe because you didn't really want to admit the situation to yourself (damn beans!). Some of them have clearly taken a liking to you, one being Shu'shao who often tries to mimic things you do in training getting hurt that way. You decide to finally talk to her and she's really nice you might take your time teaching her a thing or two. The other kids vary, a lot of them actually make fun of you you find out. Considering you're a 'weakling' which failed most tests, playfully in training you propose a match. They stop saying that after you beat up all of them... maybe you went a bit overboard, but they respect you a lot now and Shu'shao was gloating like crazy.

To train against the magic attacks you first turn to those punches with a bang you discovered. They are perfect for dispersing fire attacks, imagining your hand as a whip helped rack up speed in your punch though now power is lagging behind.

For combustive and projectile attacks, a return to the way of stone is made. Power stancing, constant doging helps the mage keep at a distance, so instead bracing yourself and taking the hits let's you close distance better. Little to say, now your rival is the one which will need to catch up with you.

The letter is sent, and within a few months a response arrives. They seem all to be doing well, the Main Sect Temple is beautiful, everything seems to be made out of gold and silk and they met a lot of strong people there and even saw some masters fight. Master ranked 4th, surprisingly being beaten by someone coming from the martial arts schools in the far south.

Urzas is doing well, they actually gave him a prosthetic hand so he could work more efficiently. He has grown really tall and actually still practices martial arts on the side aside from his scholarly duties. He is sad you couldn't come as he anticipated to see you again.

As for the kids, having kicked their ass last time they are not exactly up for training with you, except Shu'shao of course. Over time as results show they become more excited as you teach them the intricacies of personal combat and how to ride Shuang beetles well, you become like an older sister to many of them.

From the West on the other hand bad news arrive, awful ones in fact. The city has fallen, refugees from the city, are fleeing into the Sect Temple. You would expect there to be actually more of them, but the vehement resistance of Qi-Fu has enraged the Khan and his troops were mercilessly executing fleeing civilians. His forces are now approaching the temple. What will you do?

We are going to have to be clever about this. Which is a problem, because we are not very clever.
So I propose simple traps and falling hazards we can kick down the mountain like logs or boulders that will take out a lot of the enemy

We should also kinda ask if the soldiers are staying behind. Planning to fight an army by ourselves is harder than doing it with a company.
>>
>>4783957
>>4784002
>>4784037
Staying among the soldiers you man the walls, prepare the traps and await battle. A horse of horseback archers approaches and the first valley of arrow-fire is fired, then another, but the enemy soldiers seem to just keep coming. Slowly you notice it, they're ilusions just like your sister uses, but it's to late. Most arrows have been wasted by now and the piles of horse-arches corpses dissolve into mist and on the horizon the true army appears.

There is no honor in their way of combat, out of ammunition you are helpless against the enemy barrages of arrow fire. Flaming arrows put the ancient libraries of aflame. The soldiers would have rioted by then, but it is you and your rival which reign them in. She calms the flames, you calm the soldier's hearts. the walls still hold.

After the initial costly barrage the siege of the temple starts. Weeks of constant fighting wear you out, you have quality on your side, but their quantity is near infinite. At least you can be sure the young ones escaped.

No help arrives. It never would have arrived.

I ain't leaving this girl until death takes her, maybe not even then. Lets just hold our tongues for now, watch and wait for the time to free ourselves. Slave rebellion of martial artists sounds like a good goal to go for, provided nobody tries to take us as a pleasure slave.
>>
>>4784567
Wait a minute. Why even submit to slavery?
Sure it may be a harder way to escape, but we've been training for years with this. Flee to the top of the mountain where their horses can't follow and we can hold them back further, then when we have a solid number of them occupied climbing up there we can flee down the other side of the mountain and either run or steal one of their horses and fuckin' flee for the capital city.

They may run us down, but we will at least get further away and can warn them of the illusion magic
>>
>>4784575
this does require resting before the feat and dodging patrols on the way out, but if they have so many men as they say then once we escape this detatchment we should be fine until we hit their advancing army further along.

Still, it's easier to dodge individual patrols that don't know where you are and have to try and track you than it is to outlast them in a siege.

This Quest is going to now change a bit as there is barely any martial arts going on in the Khanate, though there is a way to get back to Qi-Fu eventually. Except Sijong you also won't hear much from the other characters anymore either.

You are captured, from glimpses of Khanate tongue you understand you hear words you remember from your childhood "expensive slave". You bite your tongue and keep silent as you're chained up and thrown into a cart together with some of the prettier women, larger hobgoblins and an Ogre.

Your wounds clearly show you've been one of the people fighting, though your silence makes it hard to determine whether or not you were one of the martial artists or soldiers or a random refugee who took up arms.

To determine that they send in a large soldier of the khanate to check. While you're chained up he would start beating the living shit out of you.

> 1) Just take the beating to keep a low profile, he can't damage the 'valuable goods' too much afteral

You comply and grunt and whine while the torturer hits you, even though his punches barely tickle. Still the other captives look on in horror as a young woman is being beaten up for apparently no reason.

With that you are generally accepted as a civilian which got wrapped up in all of this and after receiving medical attention are put into a more luxurious cell. You are informed that Xe'hso Qurelis a name completely unknown to you claims that you are his daughter, do you deny or accept this claim? (from the guard at least it seems like he's a big shot)

1) Agree to it
2) Deny it

What do you do in your captivity?

Due to your lethargic silence the guards assume the trauma from the war has broken your spirit. You soon reconnect with your 'father' who whispers into your ear "This is an Oni-to-Oni favor, I know you're not broken miss martial artist. if they find out we're unrelated they'll ship you west."

Laying still in your cell you slowly start picking up on the intricacies of the foreign tongue. It possessing many Qi-Fu loanwords is definitely helpful.

their conversations are annoying to listen too. Mostly mundane things, worries about recently received injuries or even daring to complain how scared they were when fighting. You hate to admit it, but they are just people... like any other.

You slowly learn of the shifts the guards take, and more importantly that the Great Khan himself is to come to west Qi-Fu to appoint a regional Khan, all lower Khans and many fire riders will be present, local dignitaries including the Oni Crime-lords will be present.

As you 'slowly regain your sanity' you are brought to your 'father'. The dignitaries, governament officials and major crimelords have been put into a manor and made to swear fealty to the Khan, those who did not of course were killed.

You soon learn of your 'father's' ulterior motive. Once he escapes the Khanate he will require protection from Khanate assasins, and in exchange for his help to you he expects you to get him this protection from the main martial arts sect... maybe Urzas can arrange something...

The say of the great Khan's arrival approaches. With him come 8 fire-riders of all possible races and ages and though clearly not martial artists you feel a presence from them as strong as from Master.

Also come the Khans under him: Kana Khan the twin-spymaster, Teme Khan the executioner, Kaza Khan the head mage and Daizha Khan the captain of the navy.

Among them is a young human boy, maybe 12 years old, referred too as Nizha Khan. He shall rule western Qi-Fu in the Khans name, it is during the meeting where you find out the consequences of the war. 19/20 people in western Qi-Fu were killed. Punishment for opposing the Khan's will so long, many of those who survived fled. What once was the Breadbasket of Eastralia is now empty known only as Spring's Graveyard. You heard of the Khan's cruelty, experienced it yourself even, but the scale of death and destruction shown here is unprecedented in world history.

You are forced to swear fealty to Nizha Khan, but suddenly your father speaks up. "My Daughter here is a great fighter, if you permit I would wish for her to join your armies."

That sly rat never wanted to escape, he wanted to raise his own status of your martial arts!

1) Accept the proposal and use it to infiltrate the Khans army
2) Wheazle your way out pretending you are just a weak tender oni lady
3) Expose your 'father'... though that way you expose yourself as participating in his lies

When he answers yes, strike him in the throat and kill him.

A show of force and vengence. If he wasnt a crime lord then he would have been spared. This now earns us some respect as well.

The Great Khan looks with bemusement at you, but guards are quickly dispatched to search your 'father's' room and rather obviously proof of scheming is found. Not like the Khan didn't know, he just planned to ignore it, but now called out he has all those found guilty executed nearly half of the room.

"You wish for me to trust one willing to slay their own father for a foreign tyrant? That is both insulting and correct, but only because you're clearly strong enough to be useful.

You shall go in the service under Teme Khan. You two should get along."

You are given a horse... which you can barely ride and depart west into the Temegel Khanate, to serve your new master.

Gotta say this was a really kino quest. I hope it continues. I was one of the writers for /tg/s Gloria-Etalia threads and contributed to a lot of the lore used here and I have to say it feels pretty coolt o see characters and events you created acted out on the personal level. I hope it continues and even if it doesn't, good job OP and players.

has 27 or so threads https://desuarchive.org/tg/thread/75294043/#75294043

Someone is currently working on a C3K mod based on it and it has a very small discord.

If anyone has any questions I could answer some to the best of my ability. A lot of my contributions were focused on Qi-Fu, the Celestial Empire, the Khanate and the Ordes since the whole China/Japan/Mongolian/Hun/Persian/Sumerian vibe they had appealed to me.

The events of this quest are set in Western Qi-fu, which as of the era of this map, had already fallen to the Khan

It also has a semi-developed magic system based on leylines. Each is attuned to a type a magic and where they intersect certain types of magic are stronger. Its why "destruction magic"is brought up here. >>4777423

I kinda like how this quest took all this lore and dripped it in piece by piece so feel free to slowrole reading past lore if you like that "mystique>" Or I guess it would just be similar to folks who watched GOT or something but already read the books.
>>
>>4803968
What concentrated autism. Glorious.

I guess I do have one question. Just how badly are we fucked as a member of the Khanate? As in "hey there's a new conquor, lets get to the legal raping" or more "Don't defy the Khan and you will do alright"?
Because Mongol's got a reputation.
>>
>>4804107
The Uruz Khanate is pretty fucking brutal. Also since the Great Khan is getting older a lot of the under Khans are getting ambitious, and he knows it. There is a feeling that Qi-Fu and Grendarrym falling will be the last big get for the Khan. Also each under Khan can have there own ambitions. Kaza Khan for example doesn't really give a shit about governing and just uses his territory as a big lab for magical experiments. He's also part of this secret society of mages and alchemists.

I actually like this direction since there hasn't been much written from the ground pov of the Khanate, though we have had a story of some folks travelling through there territory.
