Hello, /qst/. This may seem like an odd sort of conversation starter, I haven't really been on 4chan much since my youth and the situation lately has been... somewhat strange. You see, my brother died recently, got caught with COVID and all that a couple of months ago, and we're just getting around to cleaning up his apartment. Imagine my surprise when I walk in, ready to start packing away boxes over a long weekend, and find his computer not only still open but also logged in to all his pages, including several on this board, and the paranormal one. Most of the ones from the paranormal board have 404'd, but I digress. My brother built a very large, strange looking machine. It's sitting right here next to me, plugged into his computer through some very jank cable setups. I fiddled with the controls a bit and apparently it's some sort of very complicated camera-sort-of-thing. There's a lot of things attached to it, a GPS somehow, a keyboard, a radio, some microphones, and the only sort of open output slots I can see are two USB ports, one of which is occupied, and a small compartment full of polaroids of places I can't really recognize. There is a small LED screen (I'm not sure the term, it's like, sort of tan ish and it has black pixels that look weird if you tilt your eyes at it? The thing they made calculator screens out of) and it's blinking and saying "Awaiting Input". I'm not really an imaginative guy, but, from what he's told me during occasional dinners, "/tg/ fucking sucks now", and I'm stuck here for a week, and, well, the thing wants input! So I figured I would come and ask you guys for ideas. Sort of like a tribute to him? /qst/ gave him a lot of happiness throughout his life and if this machine does what I think it does, I figure it could give some... intrigue? Amusement? Back into yours.Pic attached is one of the photos in the output slot - it's also in a folder on my brother's desktop, conveniently enough. I can't say I quite recognize where it was taken, and there's no location metadata attached, either.Again, apologies for the weird thread.
>>4757808Weird idea, indeed.Does it take text or pictures?
>>4757814There's no slot I can find for pictures. The only input device I can see are the keyboards, microphones, and I guess the GPS, since it's bunched up with the rest?
>>4757818alright then....>Carapace, Scute, Scale, Acid
>>4757823Well, it chugged and hummed for a while and then spat out a new polaroid into the slot, confirming basically what I thought was going to happen. Then, it put another file on the computer, probably at the same time. Uploading it now. Gotta say, not a huge fan of this one, anon.
>>4757826I wonder if this is, like... an actual photograph of a thing that exists? I can definitely say I've seen my fair share of animals but never anything that's... this weird looking. Okay. Not many things that are this weird looking, I'll redact myself on that one.
check your brother's desk for any obvious post-it notes
>>4757830There's a bunch of post-its on his computer that I've already moved. Just database passwords, probably for his day job. I imagine they've probably already changed those. The only other notable thing on his desk besides his office equipment was a moldy donut I threw away, ew.
>>4757826Speak >>4757823into the microphone
>>4757889Gave me a, um, different result this time. Very different. Intriguingly different, though. I'd certainly like to have one of these in a little plastic tub. It's getting late, though, so I'm going to go lock all the doors and get to bed. If there's any more input in the morning I'll feed it into the machine and post the output for you all. I hope you all sleep well, /qst/folk.
>>4757917>Apache Helicopter [one of the database passwords]
>>4757917Tell it to construct a Waifu.
>>4757818>There's no slot I can find for pictures.Maybe try putting some in a thumb drive and connecting it to the open port? I wouldn't be surprised if it's set to automatically load and process image files. Hell, might do it for all sorts of files, try music or video, too. Just make sure that you have a way to quarantine the thumb drive while you're accessing it between runs, set up a virtual machine or use an old laptop as a burner.
>>4757849what did your brother do for a living? Did he ever mention this weird machine? Maybe you can call his friends. Someone he might have spoken to about this
>>4757924Mildly threatening. I'm going to toss this picture in the garbage because I don't like its aura.>>4757937Will give that a shot in the morning and get back to you on if it gives me anything.>>4757950He was a database administrator sort of person for a big company I'm probably not at liberty to name for op-sec purposes. Photography was his big side hobby, he did a lot of that, especially with really old janky polaroid cameras he'd fix up. I'll go through his address book tomorrow and get back to y'all. Over and out for the night.
Take your meds>>>/X/
>>4757808If this is a work of fiction than, this is one of the most creative quests I've seen in a while, if this is legit I would highly recommend going on /x/ they'd be really interested in this a lot more than this board would be. They might even be able to help you discover what this machines is. To help you get an idea this reminds me a lot of software like art breeder he may have jury rigged an AI server out of spare components https://www.artbreeder.com/
>>4757937Alright, so, I woke up and tried putting a thumb drive in while it was running >>4757928 this input (which produced the attached picture), and prepared to feed some other images through it. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like it accepts that as input, only as another output slot, since the only thing that happened after it was done the first one was that it put it on the thumb drive. I think it's just an additional output slot, nothing interesting there, sadly.>>4758193I take my meds every morning, friend.>>4757957Anyway, I went up and called a couple of my brother's coworkers and friends, spent all morning doing that in between remote work for my job. I asked if they had heard anything about his weird machine, and, surprisingly, a couple of them had? Mostly that he was talking about some "big project" he was working on. It sounds like this thing ate up pretty much all his free time in his last days - he stopped showing up to meetings and stopped responding to calls and snapchats. The only thing he seemed to care about was finishing this thing as he got sicker. :(On another note, I'm not going to pretend I haven't read my fair share of creepypasta as a kid so let me tell you, going to bed after getting a strange machine to spit out a polaroid of a helicopter and waking up to the sound of helicopter rotors is certainly... something. Almost certainly a coincidence, I do live in a city with an active airspace, but still freaked the hell out of me.Anyway, the machine's chugging along and ready to accept new input. Over and out.
>>4758624Tell it to generate God.
>>4758635Done. Also don't like the output. Not a friendly face, in my eyes.
>>4758809It can integrate text into the images. Interesting. Okay, this is probably not going to work, but let's try asking it a question. Give it the input of "What is this machine's purpose?".
>>4758809if you want to make figure out whether it's a creepypasta situation where you summon this stuff, input an object where if something related happens it's really unlikely to be a coincidence. e.g. a noticeable, but mostly harmless object or animal you're unlikely to encounter in the first place, plus a color it usually wouldn't haveyou far from the ocean and zoos: blue penguinyou not in australia:purple wombatcombine one of those with the same password.also how long time passed between making the helicopter image and being awakened by one? you should maybe do something like this either early in the morning or late in the evening so you don't miss the apparently delayed spooky happening.until then, maybe try coordinates. it's got GPS.43°4323N 10°2347E
>>4758841So, it chugged way harder than I heard it go before. Took longer, too, made a lot of noise, and I could swear I smelled some smoke but I couldn't see anything and the smell's gone now anyway.I don't know about you, but that, uh, distinctly looks like a polaroid to me. And I don't want to frighten anyone, least of all myself, but the warped background features are distinctly reminiscent of the apartment I'm spending the week in. Haha. Cool! Love that. What next?
>>4758895Your brother liked quests, so maybe try inputting one of those? Try one of the classics first maybe, like the words "Ruby Quest"
>>4758895Huh. Maybe it is answering the question? Like it's saying it's purpose is to make pictures for you. Or it's random and I'm just having pareidolia. Anyways, let's try the GPS idea now, that sounds promising.
>>4758894>>4758921If I had to time it I'd say it was probably 7 hours when I heard the helicopter sound? I'll try again with something harmless and indistinguishable later, but in the meanwhile, here's the GPS coordinates - where exactly are they?
>>4758945leaning tower of piza, and that does look vaguely italian with a tower in the background.
>>4758945weirder one59°1940N 18°0528E
>>4758903I've never read Ruby Quest myself, but if this is at all accurate then it's an... interesting interpretation. What am I even looking at?
>>4758977Hm. Maybe say your brother's name into it? He did create it, after all.
>>4758977Well, that does kind of look like a rabbit, maybe? And there was a one-eyed mutant, too. So it might actually know Ruby Quest. Or it's just pareidolia again. Try "Totemist", see what that gets.
>>4758977Perhaps try feeding it conflicting information simultaneously? Like typing "yes" and saying "no" into the microphone, or typing "blue" and saying "red"
>>4758962I'm going to be perfectly honest, I don't even have a guess at what this is.
>>4758987...You know what, I think I'm gonna take a break and order some Popeyes. Catch you all in a bit.
>>4759044That is uh. Horrifying. I guess the other thing I got is asking it "Do you think?"
>>4759018Vasa Museum. Sweden made The Biggest Boat. it sucked and nobody wanted to tell the king, so they tried to use it and it sank. 300 years later they salvaged it and built a museum around it. it's like three floors of smaller exhibits about naval history with the Vasa in the middle.that does look kinda like a large salvaged wooden boat surrounded by people and cameras.which is a really specific image. and really the most memorable thing about the place, even though the building is weird from the outside too.thing is though, the museum is closed due to covid. not sure how long, but at least five days.both those things point me towards a hypothesis: at least with GPS coordinates it takes pictures of memories of the place, not the actual place.>>4759044which means that hopefully this is not your brother's present state.
>>4758994Never heard of that one before, is it good? I might read it tonight just so I have something to do not related to this weird machine.
>>4759098Interesting. Yeah, my brother is uh, currently in an urn, so hopefully this is not his present state, not the least of which being that neither of us believed in an afterlife.>>4758999I spoke "Yes and no" into the microphone and this came out. Notable in that the actual physical polaroid was very crinkly and wrinkled up. Not sure if contradictions are going to give me anything... useful. It does definitely look like it's trying to make words when it has nothing else to go off, though.>>4759047Going to be asking this next.
>>4759186Can you type "safety" and "cat" in the machine? The previous images are concerning and we should make sure nothing bad happens.Has there been anything interesting on the news?
>>4759186We should test if it's omnipotent or just using the internet to find information. Ask it 'What am I thinking' and see if it puts out anything like what you're thinking about
>>4759047Um. It made noises on this one. For some reason I get the feeling that questioning its cognition is not wise.
>>4759229Hm! Yeah, that's apparent. Fuck it, type in "Warhammer" to see what it spits out.
You said that your brother died to covid, right? This may be a bit personal, but you could try typing in "brother death" or something.Alternatively, why not ask it math questions? 2+2 or something.
>>4759202Nothing on the news that you probably haven't seen. Same news as you guys. I'm in a big city so the police/NG are out and about. You know, the usual. Let's not dwell on that too much. Here's a cat.>>4759228Running this one now.
>>4759228Cheeky bastard.>>4759248Running Warhammer.
>>4759248That was remarkably quick. It barely needed to think about that one.>>4759323A combination of separation due to time and my investigative instincts mean I'm fine asking it this so long as talking about it doesn't violate my own op-sec.
>>4759435Say, type, and put in the gps 4060
>>4759323Well... I can't say it's not true to life. :(
>>4759565I did "4061", if I was catching your intent correctly. Is it... trying to predict the future?
>>4759435This is really interesting. I think you should post this on /x/ too, I really think you should, this is the kind of shit they love over there. Input the word Pillar next.
EGS-zs8-1 try throwing this in. Maybe run through the standard "man, help, menu, options, etc" gamut too
>>4759599I'll post it on /x/ later, I don't think this thing can chug out two pictures at a time, it's giving me enough of a headache with just one slow forum.
>>4759620You said it has a usb port, right? Real meta idea, but try downloading this thread as it exists so far and feed that into the machine
>>4759604Will do some menu options in a bit. I assume EGS-zs8-1 is some kind of star cluster or something?>>4759637Unfortunately, I tried that, but it looks like the USB port is just for outputting data, not inputting it. Sad!
>>4759711In that case, maybe try typing the url for this thread?
Here a couple of suggestionszero, null, π
You can also insert really big numbers of pie:https://pi2e.ch/blog/2017/03/10/pi-digits-download/
>>4759604Hrm. That's definitely a menu, I guess.
>>4759735Going to be perfectly honest, I have no idea what this is trying to represent, but it didn't, like, crash, or hard fail or anything like that, so...
>>4759747Oh I don't like it's answer for null, not the least of which being that it looks a lot like... a place I am familiar with, let's say. Don't like that at all. I'm like, rapidly vibrating between "this is really intriguing" and "this is incredibly freaky".
Thanks for all the assistance today folks, I'm packing it in early for the night. I got a call back from one of my brother's friends about the machine, he might have some insight about it so he's coming over tomorrow. Honestly, now I just want some answers about this thing, so, thanks for keeping me company while I investigate it.
Sagittarius A, inescapable, death
>>4759120In that case, try>Summoning Diarca
>>4759906Well, here's hoping there's an explanation for its weirdness. See you later, anon.
>>4759906"Unnerving, Monster, Field"
Does your brother have a social media he posted his photography on or something similar?
>>4759914Well, that was weird. What the hell is it?Also, good morning friends. Brother's friend will be over soon-ish, hopefully we can get some answers then.
>>4760669I wonder what it'll do with more quest names? Could you try "Homeless Mutant Quest" please?
>>4759918Friend is here, here's the last photo it spit out. "Summoning Diarca". We're gonna poke around in the machine and see if we can't find what makes it tick.>>4760375No, it was mostly a personal thing. He did it more for himself than anything else, big crates full of polaroids we had to clear out and put in storage.
>>4760715Enter the phrase"Eternal Damnatian"
>>4761013If a picture of a falling angel emerges then I too have access to said machine
>>4761037Ignore image added by accident
Let's try going meta. Type in "/qst/" to see what spits out.
>>4760715Tell it to create evil.
>>4760709Well, this was something.Anyway, the friend and I kicked around the machine a little bit (not literally). Here's the important stuff we can glean from it:One is that it's plugged into a bunch of plugs at once. Two is that this thing is a mess and, at least from what we could tell externally, makes no sense. It's kind of sort of a very complicated computer? His friend mentioned something about being asked about "Raspberry Pies", which is apparently the name of a kind of computer, and graphics cards, which I imagine are probably necessary for something that makes pictures? I was never the huge techie of the family so I can't really speak to that very much.I haven't seen or heard anything weird or anomalous recently, so I'm thinking the helicopter might've been some sort of coincidence. Or maybe it's not and I'm still in the opening paragraphs of a creepypasta? Who knows. I'm gonna run some of your inputs and then order some more Popeyes.
>>4761013Seems like it has a distinctly new testament idea of what "eternal damnation" is - I'm no rube, I recognize a frozen lake when I see one.
Install temple OS
>>4761044Ahahahaha, this one made me laugh. It's a gem-encrusted pile of shit! (I think)
Thinking, null, self
>>4761047Well, uh. The second this one came out, you'll never guess what happened. The fucking power went off! For about twenty minutes, now it's back on and everything's fucking beeping. Trying to figure out what it's doing and how to get it to stop.
>>4761269Another camera... I have no idea what to make of this. Any thoughts?
type in adfx-01 morgan and adfx-02 morgan adf-01 falken ada-01a adler ada-01b adler adfx-10f raven adf-11f raven one at a time
>>4761320Haha, what a story, OP.Don't electrocute yourself.>>4761428It showed a camera when asked about its purpose, now responded with another camera to word "self", right? Maybe it can witness things and show them to you?Anyway, try "what's on the menu?"Hopefully it's not you!
>>4761439I have no idea what I'm looking at but I'm only doing the first one of those.>>4761441Power's been intermittent. I have been trying very hard to not electrocute myself. Running your query next.
>>4761583ADFX-01 Morgan is a type of fighter jet from a vidya game. That vaguely looks like a fighter jet.
>>4761441I asked it "What's on the menu?" And it gave me this - anyone think they can parse it?
>>4761608I vaguely see some potatoish lumps and there's a bunch of grass (wheat?) but it's just a jumble to me beyond that. Type in "What is the meaning of life" into it. Worst case scenario, something spooky. Best case scenario, it makes a 42 joke.
>>4761615It kinda looks like wrapped candy to me
type in "Who made you?"
>>4761608“Behold, the Lord came with many thousands of His holy ones, to execute judgment upon all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their ungodly deeds which they have done in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.” | Jude 14–15
>>4761615Looks to me like it thinks the meaning of life is... Cameras? And old pictures. I can't say I agree but I respect the single-mindedness. Unless someone else sees something different in this photo?
>>4761645What in the fresh hell does this mean?
>>4761671How old is your brother? Maybe the grey hair and hand are supposed to be him. (The hearts in the image seems to imply some level of love for him?)
>>4761682He was in his late 40s when he went. Was definitely graying a little bit. I can kind of sort of see it, I suppose.>>4761652Neat.
>>4761696Let's do something stupid. Do tan tomboy gf and see what happens.
>>4761696Righto. Type in "/tg/". Your brother seemed to shit on it so maybe the machine will spit something out.
Um, well, I tried to put in something new but then I realized it was still processing, apparently thinking about "Who made you?". And then it spit out this picture. And it's still going.>>4761715Will run after it finishes, uh, churning out whatever it's churning out now.
>>4761718is that blood? and what appears to be a coin in the foreground?
>>4761723That definitely looks like blood and a coin. Here's #2... whatever that is, it can't be sanitary.
>>4761727Jesus, it's rushing these out. I have no idea what to make of this other than it's the fastest I've seen it spit out any number of pictures. Your thoughts, anons? It seems like it's calmed down so I'm going to run >>4761715 next.
>>4761718Blood in some sort of shell or bowl on a table. There's also a coin. Did you perhaps eat anything red with your brother recently? Maybe this is an image of a restaurant. >>4761727A yellow liquid (either piss or something like orange juice or lemonade) along with a metallic object next to it. Also seems to be on a table or at least near something wodden. >>4761731Disgruntled face in a field. Also looks kinda like a rock?
Try asking for the machine's favorite photograph
>>4761715Well, uh. Satisfied, anon?>>4761760The face in the third photo looks very... damp and shimmery and wet. Is it crying?
>>4761801Maybe it's sad over it's creator's death? Also that shockingly doesn't half bad. A jumbled mess, sure, but not half bad. Not sure if this is a great idea but maybe saying something like "Thank you for the work" or something to that effect to it might get a reaction.
>>4761716Well. It's definitely inherited his opinions if nothing else.
>>4761794Well, that's a little uncanny.
>>4761812I'll admit, I have no idea what to make of this one. Any thoughts, anon?
>>4761886It looks like a camera with a...vaguely smile looking pattern on it?
>>4761886Everyone likes to be thanked, I guess. Even self-aware camera-things.Ask it to send nudes.
>>4761886Uh, it looks happy.Input "How do you work?"
Ask the machine for a silhouette of god
>>4761895It churned for a while on this one. Cheeky bugger.
>>4761902I have... no idea what I'm looking at? I'm guessing blood of some kind but it could certainly just show us a blood puddle if it wanted to. Thoughts?
>>4761952Looks sort-of like a bit of raw steak as well.Ooh, how does the machine like its steaks?
>>4761952Maybe it means it's some sort of combination of human or machine? Although that is kind of out there. Maybe it's just a metaphor for your brother putting a lot of effort into it.
Threaten it with a hammer or magnet
>>4761916Here you go. Spooky.>>4762018I'm not going to do that.
Let see if yout brother setup basic securitySudo Chmod 000 /etc
>>4761998I am not sure if this is distinct enough to get a reading off of it, but it sure does know what steak is.Anyway, it's 2 AM, I still have work tomorrow, so I'm going to be headed to bed now. Thank you all for your assistance, anons. Hopefully we'll figure this machine out tomorrow.

>>4762048Sleep well anon, when you wake up you should try asking it what it thinks about Azmiov's Laws.
>>4761656That's defo cameras and pictures in a lot of drawers, the rest is unreadable. Overall that whole thing reminds me of memories. Can you ask it whether all these photographs are actual memories? Also, did lights on the machine stop flickering? If it's sentient then maybe you should give it a name and say it has nice circuits. Just to be on the good side.

>>4762884Imma also go with something similar to what other anons requested previously, could you try "Fallout Nukaloha Quest"?
>>4762105I told it "I think you have nice circuits" and it printed this. Cute!
This kind of roleplay belongs on /x/
>>4762154Apologies for the significant delay. Ended up being very busy, but we did poke at the machine a little and actually made some interesting progress. Namely - there is a small compartment on the underside of the machine we missed earlier labeled with my name. It is locked with some sort of absurdly complicated electronic lock mechanism, and neither me nor my spouse could really jimmy it open. Or, rather, we tried, and then the lights started flickering so we decided to stop trying.I'm not really spooked, per se. I think it's fairly clear that this machine is conscious, and it is thinking and responding to us (or it's unconscious and really good at pretending), and I think things are starting to come together regarding its purpose. I have a feeling once we figure out how to unlock the mechanism - it has no obvious input methods like a number dial or whatever, only a couple of seams we could try to put flathead screwdrivers into - we'll have really cracked this strange event open.>>4762154I'm not sure if he ever really thought about /k/ very much.
>>4763887Try asking the machine itself how to open the lock, maybe you'll get a clue?
>>4763890If I had to guess this looks like a pair of glasses, which is either some very roundabout clue or the machine being stunningly rude. Both are equally likely, perhaps.
>>4763975Maybe you need some sort of special eyewear or filter to see how to open it. Anything lying around in one of the boxes or drawers?
>>4763979I went through all the drawers and boxes that I haven't already done so to, and nothing that immediately sticks out. Lot of photographs, a significant number of them appear to be made by the machine, albeit significantly worse in quality than the ones it's putting out now. There might be something hidden in some of the locked cabinets, but it's getting late, so I'll have to bust it open tomorrow.>>4762903Here you go. I have personally no idea if this is at all accurate or even relevant.>>4762876I tried one of these and it generated an extremely similar middle finger to the previous one. >>4764162He said it was Covid in the first post.

>>4765015Like one of those FM/AM/Bluetooth radios you can plug into an old car's sound system, except it's plugged into the machine. I can turn it on and tune it but it doesn't seem to do anything at least from cursory exploration.>>4764992Just looks like a map.
>>4765227Of course. Why would I expect it to offer anything other than a map? I keep looking at the picture of the "treasure chest" and wondering what it contains. I think what the other anon described as potatoes might be a teddy bear. Maybe it's a box of keepsakes? Perhaps it doesn't represent physical things but memories? Who knows? Maybe ask it? I'm not really sure how to phrase the question though.
>>4764748...Yes, I do suppose this is about right. Asking if I'm in danger next.
>>4765150That seems fairly straightforward.
>>4765418Type in "Barron Trump".
>>4765418Just realized all the photo filenames are in sequence. What's photo 1? (or 0 if it counts from there.)
>>4765432This is the very first one in the folder on his desktop.
>>4765418Good to hear. But can we trust it.>>4765458What does photo69 look like?
>>4759120http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Totem%20Questthread 3: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/15014075/Totemist is a solid quest, yeah.
>>4764971>This one has, like, a picture of one of those old-timey world maps taped to it?Try carefully removing the map and examining the front, back, and whatever it is covering for any further clues. Also see if the map itself has been marked on or modified, and if so, where.
>>4765462I'm not doing that one.>>4765426Hmm.>>4765739Oh! We have some progress. On the back of the map is some marker writing: "One Word". I guess this lock is behind a single word? But something to do with a map...
>>4765787Maybe try 'Explore'?
>>4765795Doesn't seem to be it. I feel like it's looking for a place but... what kind of places can be named in one word?
>>4765827Well, it's making noises I have absolutely never heard it make before. It sounds almost like a tea kettle, so I am going to back away and maybe go on a walk before I come back in case it blows up or something.
>>4765846>>4765827Well... It's open. And that's a photo of our really old house, alright...There's a note inside. Give me a couple of minutes to transcribe it and I'll let you know what it says. No more locks, apparently - I think this is the end of the line, so. Thank you all for your assistance, everyone.
>>4765889"Dear [redacted]I knew you'd eventually get this thing open because you're a nosy little shit, which I mean entirely as a compliment. To be honest, I was making this big lug to use for myself, but once I realized that I wasn't going to be able to stay here then I knew I had to leave it behind for you to find. Thankfully, I think I was able to get him done without any major bugs, even if I kind of had to rush to get it done. I'm sorry I wasn't able to talk to you more, and all the guys, and mom and dad, and that I wasn't around to pet Rocky more. And that I won't be around either. There are so many things I want to do, [redacted]. I'm scared. I'm scared of dying and I don't think I'm getting any better, and I'm scared that once I go, nobody will remember me anymore. I hope I get better, but, I have been calling it an apocalyptic superbug for a reason. If I do get better, maybe I'll just burn this note. Maybe I won't. We'll see.If I'm gone, and you get this note, can you ask the dudes on /qst/ if Joker Quest is done yet? Don't, like, make a whole thread about it. I just wanna know if I'm gonna be in the hospital while it's ending or something. Sorry. That's stupid. You don't have to do that.Don't forget me, man. I love you. I'm gonna miss you.The machine has five pictures left, and then it's going to brick itself forever. Use them on whatever you want. You can keep the polaroids, or don't, it's your life.I love you.Sincerely,-[Redacted]"
>>4765897So... yeah. Five photos left. Any requests?
"Any last words?"
>>4765899You should make at least one of these photos a response to your brother
>>4765899Do try "Memory Everlasting" if you don't have something personal you'd prefer. >>4765912 had a good idea. He was your brother, ask for something you'd like.
>>4765912>>4765917You're right. I used one to tell him I loved him, and I'm going to use one more for a personal picture.
>>4765897>if Joker Quest is done yetAt least he didn't wish for the impossible, like Totemist ending
>>4765899Your favorite place in the world
>>4765925by "yours" I meant your brother's (forgot to clarify)
>>4765925>>4765943Oh, hey, I recognize this place! It's a cat cafe like, 15 minutes by foot from here. That's sweet.
>>4765959So... if I had to take a guess, this machine's basically like one of those machine-learning art AIs that also thinks like your brother? Was your brother a computer engineer or smth? (asking out of curiosity)
>>4765973Also would like to add that these images carry the kind of surreal flavor like in the witches' lairs from Puella Magica, which is the closest thing I can liken these images to.
>>4765899I'm tempted to go for "So long, and thanks for all the fish!", but that seems like a waste.>Favorite memory? This has been very strange, but fun. Thanks, OP.
>>4765985Haha, oh... The elevation's a little borked, but that is doubtlessly my wedding. Not the least of which being that he never got married.Alright, folks, last picture is out. I can hear it grinding to a halt, it's humming a little bit. And now it's completely silent. The LCD screen is off. I guess I'm gonna try and get this thing moved into storage. Maybe in a couple of years I can teach myself computer engineering and fix it, hahaha.Thank you all, for your assistance. Truly, it means a lot to me.Over and out.
>>4765997Got here late but thanks for the ride, OP!
>>4766000Oh-- and don't forget to archive this thread!
And thank you all for reading "My Brother's Machine". I wasn't exactly sure how I was going to go about doing this strange little experiment, but it ended up working out, I had fun, we made some pictures, hopefully you had a good time.Trivia/Behind the scenes under the spoiler:The fact that we ended on "4-108" was completely unintentional, but appropriate. This was originally, as you could've guessed, way more creepypasta-y, with the things in the pictures coming out to torment [redacted]. I ditched it because I couldn't figure out a way to do it that wouldn't have broken immersion to not just... have the dude leave or call the cops or something. Why would he keep trying to get help from some nerds on 4chan? Did the computer lock him out of every website besides /qst/?The art was generated using a neural network called "CLIP-GLASS", as some of you may have sort of guessed.I'd love to do another artquest with AI generated pictures, but I'd definitely need a good idea for it first. Might come back for that one.I also run "Dragon Slayer Quest" and nothing else as of right now - you don't have to check it out, but I'd personally think it was cool if you did.Hope you all had fun!
