Votes are counted until 25 minutes have passed. This rule doesn't apply to the last reply of the day.
Votes that require a dice roll are counted until 15 minutes have passed, so we can speed up the process. Rolls are counted until 10 minutes have passed, so be prepared!

(NEW) Dice Mechanic:

We always roll 1d100s!
Since most people weren’t happy with the system of averaging top four rolls, we’re using best of 2/3/4 depending on the attribute a prompt requires. If Johnny is a genius and it’s a Knowledge based roll, he gets more rolls (Max. 7)! If he sucks, he gets less dice (Min. 2)!

When asked for rolls, I will specify how many you’re going to get. Rolling begins after it’s asked.

Rolling 100 is a critical and ignores all other rolls! In the same vein, rolling 1 means a critical failure (only for Very Hard rolls and above).

The difficulty of the roll is tied with the effectiveness of the action. In other words, the harder the option the better the result!

Don’t forget that at the end of the day, this is a story-driven quest! What the prompts are describing is more important than the difficulty of the rolls, for results in a fight.

Again, rolls are only counted when they are posted within ten minutes of being asked, so watch out!

“I know that! You think I forget you liked them? You never told me which one was your favorite...” Scarlet looks quite satisfied by your praise amidst her embarrassment. “No, wait, you’re missing the point! Did you hear what Matilda said? H-How she described them…?” Scarlet gets redder again as she stands up.

“Matilda is a reserved girl, of course she’s going to consider those outfits kind of tacky.” You say about the cosplaying reserved girl…

“If it wasn’t, and you looked pretty, what’s the issue?” You don’t get it.

“But it’s so awkward! I really didn’t want Mat to think of me like that, I think it hurts my chances to be close to her, to be her friend and all. ‘sides we’re her seniors, Johnny. We need to lead by example.” Scarlet says something so outlandish for her, you don’t know if she’s serious or not.

“Don’t overthink it, it will be fine.” You calm her down.

“It was an accident.” You shrug. Not much you can do about it. “If you didn’t look cute in them, I wouldn’t have saved them.”

You’ve been walking for a while now, you’re almost there. You think it’s best for you to go directly to your apartment and ask Ruby for clothes for Scarlet. Redheads understand each other after all (something you’re going to prove now). Now the issue on your mind is how you’re going to explain the fact that Ruby lives with you to Scarlet, you’re pretty sure she has no idea this is a thing.

“Before we go inside, I need to inform you of something important.” You’re going to tell Scarlet about your life situation with the other redhead. You act like this is no laughing matter.

“I-I’m listening.” Scarlet gives you all her attention like the good girl she is sometimes.

You explain what happened with Ruby after Judgment day and her living situation as a whole, you spared some details that you feel like Ruby should reveal herself (like the type of relationship she has with Osgood and most of the questionnaire answers), it was a short story anyway.

“Osbad’s ex-girlfriend is living with you because she lost everything thanks to her family disowning her? The same family that is part of the group of people who did all that bad stuff to Oliver?” Scarlet abridges your story for no good reason. She’s really immature for calling Osgood “Osbad”.

“Hehe, Osbad...” You’re immature too. “But yeah, you got the gist of it.”

“She got a job, right? Maybe she can move out now that all the rent prices have dropped like bombshells.” Scarlet reminds you that Pokyo Lokyo is not a safe place to live anymore.

“That’s because this place is not safe anymore, remember? I don’t think it’s a good idea for her to live alone with everything being so dangerous.” You put your hand on your chin.

“I live alone and it’s no biggie.” Scarlet smiles. “Kinda lonely, but that’s it.”

“Yeah, after what she went through, I wouldn’t want to leave her alone.” You scratch the back of your head. You made a promise to look out for Ruby, and more importantly, she’s your friend!

“So it’s okay for me to be all lonely?” Scarlet teases.

“You have a place to live, Scarlet. And if you don’t, you’re invited. And if you’re really lonely, you’re invited too.” You’ll take care of all your friends. Besides, she knows the circumstances in which you live now. “I’ll make sure nothing bad happens to you either.”

“T-T-Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind.” Future hobo Scarlet is taken aback by your offer.

“Point is I think Ruby will be nice enough to lend you some clothes.” You say to Scarlet. “So this is going to be our only stop.”

“First time I’m meeting her and I’m gonna ask for her clothes. This is going to be awkward…” Scarlet is ready for the worst. Ruby is nice, so you don’t think she can be more off the mark if she tried.

“Meow, Meow!” Suddenly, a familiar cat makes his presence known.

It is one of the cats that Nina fed! In other words, it’s one of Neko’s lackeys. He has a little bag in his mouth and he wants you to take it. He’s right in front of the door and you, so you have no other option but to grab it.

“Oh, a cat!” Scarlet states the obvious with enthusiasm. “W-Wait, is this one of those spy cats?!” She knows what the deal with you and Neko is.

“What’s this?” You take the bag out of his mouth, ignoring what Scarlet is saying.

“Meow.” The cat nods and runs away…

“It says it’s for you.” A worried Scarlet translates for the cat! Wait, no. She just read what the bag says. What a letdown.

“Uhm…?” You open it up and see a note inside and some cookies. The note says ‘Cheer up!’. And judging by the smell and dodgy look, these cookies were made by Nina.

“Cookies?” Scarlet is confused but not as worried as she was a second before.

Did Susie send you these cookies because she was worried about you…? Were you that sad sounding at the end of the call…? You’ll have to check that out later.

“I’m not hungry though.” You put them away. You don’t want to eat more sweets.

“Y-Yeah, who would be after all that ice cream we ate?” Scarlet, the liar, wanted one.

“Let’s go inside.” You decide to ignore this for now.

Anyway, ever since your shit-faced dad left, you’ve never had to knock to enter your home before and you’re not going to start now. You put the key in the keyhole, open the door and make your way in with your fellow nameless teammate trailing behind.

“I’m back.” You announce.

“Johnny! Welcome back! Dinner is ready!” An enthusiastic Ruby makes her appearance. It must be really late if she’s already here!

“Hello, nice to—” Scarlet stops talking when everyone realizes something. Something that makes all three of you freeze up.

Ruby is scantily clothed! She has her work shirt all unbuttoned and an apron beside her underwear! Why is she dressed like this?!

“Hey Bradford Jr.” You start petting your pet as casually as you can. Somehow it feels weird for you to pat the head of an actual animal and not a pretend bear.

The awkwardness still permeates the area, Ruby is struggling to button up her shirt as she doesn’t know if she should turn around and expose her back so she doesn’t have to look at you two or keep trying and resist the embarrassment as it is. Doesn’t help that the apron confuses her and she’s moving her hands from the front of it and underneath it.

Scarlet, on the other hand, is red as a tomato but is staring at you with a mix of indignation and confusion. She wants answers and she wants them now.

Bradford Jr. is a good boy who receives pets with a gleeful yet peaceful look on his face.

You need to do something.

“Huh, Scarlet, this is Ruby. Ruby, this is Scarlet.” You introduce the two in the most casual way you can as you struggle to not just stare at Ruby. “We’re not going to eat dinner here tonight, so don’t worry about us.”

“…” Scarlet isn’t amused that you’re just ignoring the elephant in the room.

“Ni-Nice to meet y-you. P-Pardon me, I-I wasn’t aware that Joh-Johnny was going to b-bring a guest…” Ruby goes along mostly because she doesn’t know what to do. You have no idea why she’s not walking away, but you are not going to complain.

“Do you do this often? Are you some kind of exhibitionist? I need an explanation.” Scarlet interrogates with a harsh tone.

“Scarlet, be nicer to Ruby.” You don’t appreciate the hostility.

“I’m asking legitimate questions.” The less likable redhead retorts. “Questions you can answer too.” Scarlet pouts.

You already committed so you can’t just stop. “Let’s leave this behind us and eat.”

“Mhm!” Ruby is happy to show her cooking skills. You’ll have to text Matilda that you’re going to miss dinner over there, but it’s going to be fine.

You three decided to eat dinner together. Originally, you weren’t planning to, but this is better for the future of these two to become friendly to each other, and cutting this visit short wouldn’t be wise. Matilda received the message without complaints, so that’s good… As you eat Ruby’s healthy but dull dinner, a new conversation breaks out:

“It’s been in the back of my mind. Why do you always keep an eye on backhanded insults?” Scarlet asks Ruby as she enjoys her healthy meal.

My ex-boyfriend helped me get used to comments like that, how they are supposed to be amusing rather than hurtful. I thought I overcame it, but clearly I haven’t just yet.”

“Calling you a ‘perv’ is not something I would say is subtle to catch.” You think Ruby is over valuing her own capabilities here.

“But she agreed to leave that behind us…” Ruby is confused. She has a point here.

“Sorry, I got used to Johnny’s ‘humor’. He never stops making jokes even when you tell him to be nicer.” Bubbles blames you. “Like I said, I should’ve listened to you.”

“Uhm, I’ve seen the opposite. He’s very perceptive.” Ruby defends you based on her own experience.

“B-But he never stops teasing me! Just look at him! He’s scheming something!” Scarlet points at you, as you adjust your glasses.

“No idea what you’re talking about. Paranoid, much?” You won’t admit how much you tread the line with all the teasing you do.

“I bet you were going to say the B-word!” Scarlet is acting like a psycho.

“B-word…?” Ruby doesn’t get it.

“Ignore her, Ruby. This girl has clearly lost her composure.” You pretend the ice cream filled redhead is crazy. “But this talk reminded me. Ruby, could you be so kind as to help us? I don’t know if you read my message, but we’re staying over at Matilda’s dojo for the night, and Scarlet here needs another outfit.”

“I’ll be glad to help you in anything you need.” Ruby is a good girl, not even hesitating for a second. She stands up and starts taking the empty plates away, as the dinner is finished.

“Uhm…” Scarlet doesn’t know how to react.

“You know, let’s spice things up! I challenge you to surprise me with the outfit, so do your best.” You want to make this fun so Scarlet and Ruby forget how awkward this situation might be for them.

“EEEeeeh?!” Scarlet is confused and embarrassed, she hasn’t heard all the details and she’s already red.

“Surprise you? What do you mean?” Ruby sounds cautious.

“Just that, surprise me. Like, it’s up to you how. I promise I’ll reward you two if you succeed.” You warmly smile.

“A reward?” Ruby is thinking this over. “What kind of reward?” She’s making a lot of questions.

“I don’t know. Anything you want in particular? Keep in mind it’s just a little fun thing we’re doing here.” You cover your bases.

“I have the perfect idea for it.” Ruby giggles in excitement.

“You’re rewarding us both separately, riiiight?” Scarlet is bargaining.

“Sure, but I’ll up my standards.” You adjust your glasses. You hope you’re not biting more than you can chew.

“Riiiiight.” Scarlet stares at you with skepticism. “You just want me to play dress up? Sure. I mean, I do enjoy being complimented.” Scarlet doesn’t have that big of an issue. In fact, she’s just pretending she isn’t as interested in the idea as she truly is.

“We’ll have to work hard to impress Johnny, Scarlet. It’s not going to be easy.” Ruby is ready for the task.

“A-Aren’t you exaggerating a tiny bit?” Scarlet is not sure if this is the attitude or not.

“That tiny bit can make the difference between winning and losing.” Ruby is calm but determined. “He wouldn’t have asked if he didn’t find you cute, Scarlet. But we’ll need more than that.”

“The best surprises are getting something you never knew you really wanted until you receive it.” You say to give them an idea of what they can pursue.

“Exactly, like it was for me when I met you.” Ruby smiles. You think she has a nice smile…

“EHEM!” Scarlet loudly interrupts. “Let’s check out what you have Ruby.”

“R-Right…” Ruby noticed that she said something that can be considered embarrassing.

“Welp, I’ll be changing and packing some clothes in the meantime.” You adjust your glasses and go to your room.

With a new change of clothes and a bag with a second change and essentials (like your toothbrush, never forget those!), you’re sitting on the couch with Bradford Jr. waiting for Scarlet and Ruby to show up. Maybe, on another day, you would be reopening your kingdom, but not today. You have to deal with a sandwich, a martial artist, a bubble, and a terrorist.

“All right, Johnny. We’re ready!” Ruby is the first one to show up.

“B-Bring it.” You get abnormally nervous now that the situation is upon you.

But everything comes to a screeching halt as the thunderous sound of cloth being ripped ripples the apartment. Making Scarlet freeze in the pose she was in. Nobody says anything for a couple of seconds, until Ruby decides to get closer to Scarlet to check what happened.

“Oh my.” Ruby’s expression tells you it’s not something good.

“……….” Scarlet knows exactly what happened but she’s still frozen in that same pose, now just redder in the face. “….I’m sowwy.” A ghastly voice comes out of the positive girl…

Five minutes passed, and Ruby and Scarlet are back – with the second redhead sporting a new set of clothes. Ones that don’t look bad on her at all, but the other dress was way cuter. Scarlet looks heartbroken while Ruby is trying to cheer her up.

“Y-You’re right, Johnny! It would be a giant waste if that was my wish!” Scarlet battles through depression to go back to happiness like it was a filler episode.

“Same difference.” Scarlet doesn’t care about details.

“You overcame that with ease!” Ruby is surprised by Scarlet’s resilience.

You really didn’t want to say goodbye to Ruby, but responsibilities called, and you need to answer. You and Scarlet walk away from the apartment with two bags full of stuff, including your toothbrush and the cookies. As soon as you walk away, Scarlet approaches the guardrail as she seems to have spotted something.

“Hey, look, it’s Xavi!” Scarlet is all excited to find the other member of the team. Not the Nameless, but the team that took down the cult with the Nameless…! You all need better names…

Because you’re taller, you don’t need to move too close to spot him, he’s at the parking lot and there are more people around him – he’s so small you don’t know how Scarlet spotted him. He’s standing next to Double J, a guy you’ve never seen before, and Craig. Maybe there is someone else in there but you cannot be bothered to check more thoroughly.

“Should we say hi?” Scarlet doesn’t know if you have more time to waste.

“Sure.” You’re not enough of a dick you can’t spare a couple of minutes to say hi to your friends.

Scarlet is happy with your response and walks right by your side, together you go down the stairs to where the little congregation of people are. Now that you can give them a good look, you see Xavi, Double J, Craig, a megane brother you haven’t seen before and Sewel.

“Hey everyone, what’s up?” You’re the first one to raise your voice.

“Hey! It’s Johnny and the homegirl.” Xavi seems really happy to see you.

“We saw you from over there, and we wanted to see how you were doing!” Scarlet is happy to talk with Xavi.

“Ha, you were the only one left to show up!” Craig has a good laugh when he sees you.

“You have another girl with you, huh?” Sewel starts chuckling. Scarlet hides behind you. “Don’t worry, sweetie. Redheads aren’t my type.”

“Please be nice to her.” You don’t want Scarlet to feel uncomfortable.

“Don’t tell me she’s the sensitive type?” Sewel grins. “I prefer them over whatever the hell Jun’s granddaughter was supposed to be anyway, so let’s try to get along, girl.”

“Have I seen you before?” Scarlet wonders. Double J just shrugs.

“That’s why I don’t like redheads, they go around all places for better or worse.” Sewel chuckles. He seems in a good mood. He gets elbowed by Craig. It seems to have hurt. “Guh…”

“Stop with that crap.” Craig didn’t like that. You wonder if Ajna’s mother is a redhead too. “This idiot’s Sewel. You seem to know Xavi, so I’ll skip to last. This guy is Kevin, they all are tenants here, except Sewel – he’s no better than a homeless man.”

“Please forgive the rudeness.” Kevin seems like a wimp. “Nice to meet you both.”

“I’m Johnny, by the way.” You give some thumbs up.

“It would be nice to be acknowledged properly…” Xavi didn’t like being skipped.

“You’ll get it over it.” Craig shrugs.

“So, what’s going on?” You wonder.

“We’re having an impromptu tenant gathering. We had a little accident here, everyone took a peek, then we ended up shooting the breeze after. Some left a while ago like your sister.” Craig explains.

“You know we can’t do them anymore; we have to respect the memories of those who left us.” Craig looks up to the sky with a sad look on his face… Well, you were talking about giving funerals to pieces of junk after all.

“Poker nights? Sound shady.” Kevin adjusts his glasses nervously.

“They were.” Double J profanes over the sanctity of Poker Nights.

“Sounds like they could’ve been fun.” Xavi is not against them.

“But what exactly happened? Why did it explode?” You’re curious.

“Someone took it down with his own drone; it was an incredible battle. I saw with my own two eyes.” Kevin is all excited. Something about what he says and how the drone looks doesn’t match. “A mysterious pilot is watching over us. Protecting the skies from these damn alligators.”

“It’s a crocodile, dude.” Xavi shakes his head.

“How can you tell…?” Scarlet isn’t impressed by this display of knowledge.

“Who cares? They are the same species.” Kevin doesn’t think the correction was any necessary. “Anyway, it’s nice to meet the rest of the people who live here.” Kevin takes the positives with him.

“Yeah, we should return to our apartments.” Craig wants this meeting adjourned.

“Take care everyone!” Scarlet says goodbye as well as she goes immediately to grab your arm.

“Be careful there, that redhead seems like it’s going to keep you up all night long.” Sewel elbows you and whispers.

“Don’t underestimate me, I can go ever further than that.” You adjust your glasses. You’ve pulled all-nighters playing video games after all, entertaining Scarlet is nothing in comparison!

“Haha, I like your spirit!” Sewel has a good chuckle as he and Craig go away.

“...” Scarlet feels embarrassed for unknown reasons.

“Bye, chaps!” Craig says midway of his exit.

Double J and Kevin leave as well, the latter going for something to clean this junk up.

“Call me if you need anything, you two. I know you must be working on something.” Xavi is willing to help. “Good bye!”

“We will, Xavi! Thank you!” Scarlet leaves your arm aside and hugs the little man. “Bye bye!” Scarlet goes back to grabbing your arm again.

“Thanks, man.” You nod before leaving with Scarlet. Xavi scratches his cheek with a meek smile before going away.

It’s getting considerably late, maybe enough to go to sleep on a normal day, but you have a slumber party to attend to! It seems Scarlet had a good time with Ruby, and meeting up with Xavi was a nice little plus. But the mystery of the drone will never leave your mind, same as that stupid snowman you who’s creator you never found…

Anyway. As soon as you return, you should decide on what to do next, to not waste any more time!

The way back to the dojo was relaxed, you just talked to Scarlet about the people she just met, about who they are and what they do. Scarlet asked many questions to get to know them well, but you’ve come to realize you barely know what they do or what they like outside of the poker game environment. And you didn’t know Kevin, so you mostly talked about Craig and Sewel. She knows Xavi as much as you do, so he wasn’t even important to the conversation.

You make your way inside the dojo to find Matilda and Oliver playing Table Tennis together with San acting as referee. They have a Table Tennis Table and nobody told you, you feel kinda mad! It’s not like you have played all that much before, but hey, it makes the place more desirable to visit. You and Scarlet had to watch their game end before you could move onto more important matters, which Matilda seems to have edged out by a little margin.

“You have bested me again!” Oliver takes his loss with stride.

“I’m nowhere near your and San’s level.” Matilda doesn’t let the win go to her head.

“Huh? I thought you were pretty good!” Scarlet is surprised. She knows nothing about sports…! You actually thought Matilda was good too…

“I’m not under the illusion I did good, Oliver is left-handed. I’m not like my grandfather; I don’t believe I’m an expert at everything I do.” Matilda stretches.

“Buahehahaha… I don’t know how you’ve noticed, Master. But you’re as sharp as ever!” Oliver’s laugh sounds like his genuine one now, but it has traces of the fake weird one from before. So, it still sounds really stupid.

“I’ve seen you write, and I doubt your ambidextrous.” Matilda points out.

And by information, I mean the pics my clever informant sent me over the phone.” You pull out of the phone and look over them, as you all walk back to the original meeting room you were in before you left. “Oliver, come over, you know more about this than I do.”

“I mean, we can totally spot Ms. Wich if we find her.” Scarlet doesn’t think it’s that necessary.

“Yeah, but we can learn even more.” You’re not going to back down.

In the Dojo Base of Operations (you’ll call the room that for now mentally (you reiterate to yourself that you’re not a dork)), you all sit right next to each other around the little table in the middle. With your phone in hand, everyone gathers closer to inspect the screen except San. Which Matilda makes a note of.
