He's still young. What Enhance does have however are two weapons, each on the level of a Noble Phantasm, that's where the bulk of his power comes from. Then again, both of those weapons destroy him every time he uses them, but it shouldn't be a problem for all that long considering the temporal reversion regeneration ability inherent to all Dead Apostles. It's hardly like he's Shirou strapping on Archer's arm and melting his brain.

"I don't think I'll have much difficulty keeping pace with Ciel at least, now lets go!" On a purely magical basis, you've got more potential than Ciel does, however, the big difference between the two of you is that Ciel as an immortal should have an infinite amount of stamina at her disposal, not to mention that despite all your physical training, the body of somebody who actually goes out and hunts Dead Apostles on perhaps a weekly basis is going to of course be in a better shape than yours. This however, doesn't mean that you're incapable of keeping up with the girl though, as both of you have around similar levels as to what you can push your bodies to with your reinforcement under normal circumstances. You briefly wonder what would happen if Ciel was taught Shirou's immensely dangerous method of turning nerves into circuits. They would only be low quality circuits of course, but through her immortality, it might even be possible for Ciel to survive and remain conscious through the conversion of thousands of the bodies nerves into magic circuits all at once, After all, the human body has billions if not trillions of nerve cells. It might be something worth looking into and perhaps teaching Ciel and SHIKI at a later date. Though such a technique could potentially give either of them a magical energy output greater even than something like Excalibur. A scary thought that something like that might be possible, but then again, immortality on their level is an excellent way to break any sort of magical system. You might be able to regenerate from most any wound, but as far as you can tell, you can still die, so you're loathe to attempt that sort of magecraft.

The three of you run as quickly as you can, and you can see Karna in physical form leaping from rooftop to rooftop. "Ciel, if I might ask... why is Archer up there anyway? Also, this might be a good time to tell me what he can do so I can plan around his capabilities."

In his hand is a golden bow of ornate design, clearly a weapon of the Gods, you can tell that from just a glance. Still, it's ridiculous! An Archer who actually uses a bow? What sort of nonsense is this? You guess that the Archer class really is made up of Archers!

The four of you don't delay at all as you enter Verde, and as you enter, you are hit with the overpowering smell of alcohol. It's like a dense fog, but you press through it. "Definitely Shuten." You say calmly as you press onward, having taken the lead from Enhance now. You walk through the empty halls of Verde. The screams have all stopped now, and that really doesn't bode well for the people who were in this place. You highly doubt that Shuten was actually going to let a single one of them escape.

"Is that you, Master?" You hear Shuten's voice echoing through the halls of the silent shopping center, she's clearly a distance away, yet her voice carries despite that. "I thought I could smell you from the outside. Have you finally decided that I'm worth your time now?" There's definitely a grudge in her voice, and Ciel glares at you with annoyance. That last word sends a shudder down your spine.

"She's... not lying." Karna has his arms crossed. "While the girl herself is clearly a foul demon, she's telling you the truth. I get the feeling, that this girl, despite her debaucherous nature, is one to take oaths and loyalty very seriously. She might be a remorseless slayer of humans, but she isn't the sort to break her word." Karna keeps his voice calm and composed, as observant and cool as you would expect from a top quality Archer such as himself.

"Man, nothing good ever comes of trusting people like that, ya' know?" Enhance pulls his hood off, and reveals his full face finally, and he really does look exactly like Dante. "If you ask me, we should just rush her, take her by surprise." He's got a savage grin on his face, he's clearly ready to go up against the Servant, but... you don't know how powerful Shuten is right now. While theoretically she shouldn't be able to deal with Karna, you don't know how something like Bone Collector would interact with Kavacha and Kundala, if she were to successfully use it on him, it would bypass the defenses of his Noble Phantasm armor and leave him dead immediately! Of course, Karna is an Archer, so really, he shouldn't be fighting in close range anyway.

"She can hear us, you know." Karna looks at Enhance with a raised eyebrow. "Your own senses were great enough to hear this building full of screaming humans from a few kilometers away, and this demon that we face is a natural born hunter of humans. Her natural senses are likely even more attuned than my own are, with the exception of eyesight, I imagine." Karna is being humble about his own abilities for whatever reason, then again, he's probably not wrong. Both Shuten and Ibaraki have shown themselves to have tremendously good natural senses, Shuten mentioned she could smell you while you were outside, after all.

"Yeah, and?" Enhance draws his Demonic Sword and twirls it about in his hands. "It's not like she wouldn't have been expecting an attack if Shinji here doesn't decide he wants to be demon chow after all." He suddenly sinks his blade into the concrete of the floor. "But hey, it's not my call, if Shinji wants to go act as the bait for an attack, that's up to him." Enhance is smiling, clearly he doesn't trust Shuten at all, even despite the reassurances from the human lie detector.

"It's your Servant, Shinji, so it's your call. Do you think that you can trust this demon not to immediately kill you the moment she sees an opportunity?" Ciel has a worried expression on her face, and an ornately decorated silver and red spear in her hands. The weapon she's holding is something easily on the level of a Noble Phantasm, perhaps a level beyond even that! You can at least tell that much from it with just a quick glance at it. It exudes even more holy power than something like Excalibur!

I reread our second visit to the Dojo, trying to figure out if Taiga's Servant killed us and if there was a clue to his identity.

I had assumed it was Shuten at the time, but reading back it doesn't sound like her. Maybe Zouken used them to fuel the ritual that summoned her? Or it could be Nyarly. Can't really thing of anything else.

I think I might reread the Quest from the beginning and try to figure out if there's anything else in general that jumps out now we know more about what's been going on.

Shuten remains silent for a second, so you decide to keep talking. "I promise you that this is a once-in-a-timeline opportunity Shuten. I don't know how much Manaka might've told you about what's going on, but... well, would you like to meet your father?" The temperature seems to drop as you say that, and the tension in the room becomes thick enough that it could be cut with a knife.

"Father?" Karna repeats your words, and not Shuten. "You can't possibly be talking about...!" Looks like Karna is unaware of what went down in the forest, but the mention of the father of Shuten-dōji is something that any Heroic Spirit should be able to rapidly discern the identity of a divine spirit from just that much. Karna is by no means foolish.

"Yamata-no-Orochi, a False Beast, and the divine spirit possessing the body of my ancestor after he summoned him into himself in order to get one last laugh at me. What's more, he managed to steal half of Arcueid Brunestud's current power, and of course, your father and previous incarnation." It's strange to think that Shuten is actually a downgraded version of the Snake God, a portion of his power that split off after he was slain by Susanoo and became its own being, which itself eventually degraded from a dragon to an oni. "Come on, Shuten. I'll give you my pinky finger right away if you promise to behave like a good girl from now on, don't you want to make it a promise?"

"My... father." Shuten repeats, her voice sounding like a whisper despite reaching your ears anyway. "Why would I help you again though, Master? I put my trust in you, and then you abandoned me just like that! Why would I trust you, or even help you when I can continue to exist through the power that girl granted me?" It seems that the idea of getting into more fights isn't really one that appeals to Shuten. The lazy girl. You might've had more luck if you promised her an extra comfortable pillow or something.

"What, you can't mean to tell me that you actually like doing what that girl in the grail wanted you to do, surely?! Come on Shuten, you know you can trust me, right? Are you really content with being used as nothing more than a tool by that girl? I might've had to leave you, but she was the one who took you from me!" You keep talking, thinking of just the way to get to Shuten. While she keeps her affection for Ibaraki quite well concealed, she obviously does have some emotions for the girl. "Besides, I'd hate to see Ibaraki cry about your fate for the third time in a week. You don't like making her worry about you, do you?" You haven't spent a long time with Ibaraki, but it's very obvious that the girl is clearly massively distressed about what happened to her sworn sibling.

The Noble Phantasm she calls out is... very different from the one you were expecting, and you honestly have no idea just what Shuten has done for a moment. Shuten cries out with a joyful voice. You can hear the sound of hundreds of footsteps, racing towards your group. Karna looks conflicted as he aims his bow at the crowd of people as it finally comes into view for you as well. It's a crowd, three hundred strong, all wearing the clothing of civilians, though these clearly aren't civilians any longer. From each of their heads jut two horns, the tips of their fingers have been replaced by sharp looking nails, and their eyes belay a deep hunger for the flesh of humans. Men, women, children. None were spared from the transformative effects of this new Noble Phantasm of Shuten's, it seems.

Did... Shuten really transform all of these people into Oni!? That's... insane! There are so many of them, is this even a fight you can win? Do you even want to?! These people were just innocent bystanders! Yet right now, they represent a force of Oni that could tear apart practically anything!
