>Now, lets see where the hell I am. Last thing I remember... My name is Boss, and I was heroically trying to kill some monster while protecting Brother. And then he went all-out and transformed... And that's about it.
>Oh, he tried messaging me while I was hibernating... I forget about what though. Probably was just telling me how cool I looked when I was fighting that monster.
>Looks like I'm stuck in some warehouse now. Did I get captured while I was out? Doesn't seem like anyone's nearby.
>Hah, I bet Brother and Eyre are totally worried about me. What fools they are, did they really expect someone as awesome as me to just sit around and get captured?
>Now, where's my cape? Can't strike fear and admiration into my enemies without it.

You pick up and wrap your cape around your neck, and strike a proud pose as you look around the seemingly abandoned warehouse. It's dark, but darkness means nothing for your robotic eyes. There are stacks and stacks of boxes which appear to just be holding supplies.
Looking around, you find a door that probably leads out of the warehouse.

>My captors are probably through that door. Now, time to run out of this room, and slaughter all of them while making my escape! This will be eas-

Suddenly one of your internal warning systems go off, reminding you about the giant hole in your chest that damaged your main battery.

>... Shit. Well, guess I'll have to make this escape quick, or maybe I could capture one of my captors and torture them into fixing me.
>Let me review my equipment and make sure it's working. I have a extendable left arm which can act as a grappling hook, and I can make a blade pop out of my right arm.

Thanks, sorry for the hiatus. I got busy with life stuff and had trouble figuring out what I should do with this quest, but then I thought about this idea for a Boss side-story and found my motivation.

Hope players don't mind the shift in PoV.

Also fair warning, this chapter will have a significantly higher difficulty than previous chapters. Good luck!

>Maybe there's a battery somewhere in these boxes. I'll take a quick look.

You begin searching through the boxes. However, you don't find much other than pieces of scrap metal, rations, and other random assorted supplies.

>If there's a battery somewhere in here, it'll probably take too long to find it. None of these boxes are labeled either, in fact, some of them appear to have their labels ripped off. Weird.

Right as you're about to give up on your search, you find a large piece of scrap metal with a handle on one side. You effortlessly pick it up.

>Huh, this was probably used as a door for something. It's pretty hefty, and could probably withstand a laser shot or two. Well, it's mine now!

You start heading to the door with your makeshift shield in hand. You notice the panel next to the door. It does nothing when you hit the buttons on it.

>Guessing it's ID locked. I could always hack it, but that's boring. Lets do this the fun way!

You take a few steps back, put your shield in front of you, and charge through the door!

You break through the door into a room with a large monitor. Quickly assessing the situation, you see someone laying back and sleeping in a chair. Preparing for them to awake from the disturbance you caused, you take a fighting stance.

>Right, once he wakes up, I'll gut him!
>...
>... Did... Did he really just sleep through me breaking through the door?!

In astonishment, you slowly sneak towards the sleeping guard. They have their back turned to you, so you can't get a good look at them.

>Well, this certainly makes things more boring. Guess I can behead him in his sleep.

>... Fine, I'll investigate the room before doing anything rash.

You quietly sneak over to the control panel below the giant monitor, and press a button labeled "Map". The monitor turns on, and reveals a basic map of the area. You try and press other buttons to gather more information, but you get locked out by a request for an ID.

>Well, looks like I'm stuck in some sort of space station. If I had to guess, any robotic parts would probably be in the lab. I'm lucky that I didn't set off an alarm breaking down the door, and I assume all other doors here will require an ID as well. I could steal an ID from this lazy bastard, but he might wake up, and I'll have to kill him. Be better just to kill him first before he can wake up so I don't waste time with him struggling, even if that is boring.

>I hate to think it, but just stealing the ID is probably the best option here. Even though I'm confident I could end his life within seconds, I shouldn't take unnecessary risks with my power this low.

You slowly sneak towards the sleeping guard, and notice what looks like an ID attached to his belt. Careful to not disturb him, you stealthily take their ID, and start making your way towards the lab. After a short dash through a empty hallway, you come to another door. You swipe the ID card against the panel next to the door, and it opens with a "ding" sound.

You step into the dark lab, and the lights turn on as you step inside. In the middle of the room is what looks like a group of cryo-tubes, likely used to keeping life-forms in suspended animation. All of the tubes are empty aside from one, which appears to have some sort of aquatic-looking humanoid alien within it. A quick glance around the room shows that it's mostly full of tools for researching living organisms.

>Fuck! This isn't a robotics lab, this looks like some lab for science experiments on living creatures. I'm running out of time, is there anything here of use?

Doing another look around the room, you see what looks like a half-open wall panel. Upon closer inspection, it appears to be attached to a battery which is powering the room.

>I could probably use some wires in here to hook myself up to this battery to charge myself a bit, but it'll probably make the room lose power and potentially set off an alarm...

>Why should I care about some stupid alien right now? I need to charge myself before I run out of power.

You quickly hook up some of the wires poking out of the panel and attach them to some of wires sticking out of your chest that connect to your back-up battery. You slowly start to regain some power, and once you gain enough power to stay on for about 40 minutes, the lights and machinery in the room turn off.

>Well, guess I drained this room of its power. This station must have a generator or something somewhere I can-

>Well, I might as well give it a shot. Gotta speak in a way that makes me sound cool though, and not like a pacifist pushover like Brother.

You lower your shield and proudly say, "Rejoice, pathetic creature! I have decided to grant you the chance to survive after your assault! If you leave me alone, I won't slash you to pieces with my robotic might. I might even let you follow me, if you don't get in my way of destruction."

The creature looks up at you and tilts its head.

"Huh...? You're a robot? Aw, I was hoping to eat some of you! I've been so hungry being kept in that tube for so long!" The creature pats its stomach and you hear a low growl from it. "Well, I guess I'll go take a bite out of some of the humans that brought me here! Cya!" The alien gets up and starts walking toward the hallway.

"Wait." You say, as the creature turns around. "I think it would be beneficial for the both of us if we worked together. Any humans here likely have guns. If you do as I say, I'll make sure you get something to eat." A smile appears on the creature's face, which doesn't even go away when you unsheathe your arm blade. "But if you blow our cover, I will not hesitate to kill you."

"Okay!" The creature jumps up happily and walks towards you. "My name is Elly! What's yours, mister robot?"

"You may call me Boss."

"Wow, that's a cool name!"

>Heh, of course it is. Always good to get some respect. Thankfully this creature appears to be pretty stupid, so it'll probably follow my orders without hesitation, as long as I can promise it food.
"Now, lets get moving. I don't have time to waste." Elly nods, and you exit the room and start heading towards the hallway. Elly follows right behind you.

You lower the volume of your audio device and tell Elly "I need to get some information out of this guy, and you're going to help me."

Elly nods. "Okay! Can I take a bite out of him afterwards?"

"Probably. Now, I'll use my strength to hold him back, and you can stay as a lookout to make sure no one else spots us. Now, lets go!"

You both rush out from the hallway, forcibly knock the guard from his chair, and grab both of his arms behind his back. Elly runs around the room to make sure there's no other guards nearby, and then walks up to the restrained guard with a look of hunger on her face.

The guard awakes with a loud grunt. "Wuh...?" And then Elly walks forward, and puts her claws right up to his neck. "W-Wait-"

He attempts to struggle against your grip, but he can't do anything against your robotic strength. "Tell me where we are, why I was imprisoned here, and how to escape, and I might let you live." You say as your tighten your hold on him.

"I-I don't know- ACK!" You tighten your hold even further, causing strain on his arms. "L-Look, I'm just a guard here, alright? I don't know why you were taken here, but I can tell you that this is a space station run by a espionage group..."

"And the name of this group?"

"I can't tell- OW!" Elly starts digging her claws into his neck. "I-It's called the Space Dogs... But I don't know who they work for! All clients are only known by the higher ups! H-Here, you can escape by getting to the hangar... There's ships and escape pods there."

>Even if we could steal a ship, I'd have no idea where we are in space, and no way to reunite with Brother.

You relax your hold on him slightly. "I saw a comms room on the map. I assume a pitiful grunt like you won't be able to work those machines?"

The guard shakes his head. "My ID is low level since I'm just a security guard, I'm not allowed on any actual missions... Please... Let me go..."

>... Fine, I'll let him live. A grunt like him doesn't even deserve to be killed by me.

You let go of his arms. "He talked, let him live for now. This organization will probably kill him later for being a terrible guard anyway."

Elly frowns. "Aw! But I'm HUNGRY! Can't I at least have a nibble?"

The guard falls to the ground and crawls away. "P-Please don't, just let me live, I promise I won't tell!"

If you could laugh at how pathetic he is, you would. "See, Elly? It's much more enjoyable to see someone as pathetic as him be thankful that you spared them. Now, lets go."

You turn your back to him, and start walking away, when suddenly you hear a laser being fired! It misses your head by a few inches, and you turn around to see that the guard as taken out a small laser pistol!

"Ha, Idiots! Next time make sure the person you spare doesn't still have weapons on them!" The guard says triumphantly, as he points his pistol at you.

FUCK! I forgot to search him for weapons! Guess this is what I get for trying to be like Brother!

As you take a fighting stance, Elly dashes in front of you. "Let me handle this prey, Boss! Just act as a distraction!"

"Understood. Don't fuck this up!" You lunge to the side with your shield in your hand to protect yourself from the guard's laser, and Elly starts running up to the guard! Elly then lunges at the air right next to the guard.

The guard laughs. "Hah, you missed-"

You hear a familiar BANG sound, and Elly suddenly changes course in mid-air, and slashes the guard's neck! The guard stumbles backward, and drops his pistol as he grabs onto his neck.

>Interesting, looks like that fin on her back can generate a small explosion, which can change her velocity in mid-air! Maybe this oversized fish will be useful after all.

The guard falls to the ground, clutching his neck as nothing but gurgling sounds come out of his mouth. Elly wastes no time taking a bite out of his neck as he writhes around on the floor.

>... Even though I've committed atrocities worse than this, I can't help but feel somewhat disgusted by this beast.

As you walk over to take the dropped pistol, you notice the guard holding some small machine in his shaking hand. Before you can stop him, he hits a button on it, and hear alarms go off! "Do multiple tables, if we do only one it'll be obvious which one we're behind! Lets hide behind different tables so we can catch them off-guard. Don't attack until I tell you to."

Elly nods, and hides behind a table across from you, putting her out of your range of vision.

After waiting a few minutes, the door to the foyer finally opens, and you hear multiple people walking out of it, talking to each other.

"Oh goddammit, someone messed up the mess hall. Did that beast get loose or something?"

"Don't see any blood. Someone probably just had a tantrum. A false alar-"

Seizing your chance, you quickly pop out from behind one of the tables, and prepare to shoot. The men are dressed in what look like some form of stealth suits, and there's four of them. Unable to react to you quick enough, you shoot one of them right through the head, killing them instantly!

"Shit!" They quickly aim their weapons and are about to shoot your cover to pieces!

Wasting no time to aim another shot, you shoot another one of the enemies right through the chest, making them fall back and shoot wildly before they hit the ground and die. "Elly, attack!" Elly jumps out from behind one of the tables, but the enemy she's aiming for dodges her assault, and kicks her away! Elly's left in the open as the remaining two enemies prepare to shoot her!

Elly attempts to make another lunge at one of the enemies, but completely fails, missing her attack again. The two enemies use this chance to fire on her, and two laser shots graze her right arm and her left face fin. She lets out a scream from the pain, and stumbles backwards. "Ahh... It burns!"

While the two are focusing on Elly, you use this chance to grab one of the dropped guns. You're now out in the open, but the two enemies are still focused on Elly, and preparing to fire upon her again! Elly is stunned from the pain and unable to move!

While the two are distracted, you shoot another one of the soldiers right through the back of the head. The last soldier panics once they realize they're now outnumbered!

"Elly, don't let him get away!" Elly dashes after the last soldier with zero hesitation, and uses her booster to catch up with him. She attempts another attack, but only manages to tear into his back.

"Ow, fuck! Get away from me!"

While Elly is chasing him down, you use your hacking programs to hack into his radio. Hacking into something as simple as that is trivial, and you easily shut it down before he can contact anyone else.

"H-Hey?! Why did my radio turn off?! I know, I'll hide in the bridge and use the comms panel there!" The soldier continues running, this time heading in the direction of the bridge.

"What's taking you so long!? Kill them already, Elly!" You chase after them as well, trying to make sure the last soldier can't escape.

Elly attempts another lunge, but once again only manages to scratch his back. The soldier doesn't stop running, and makes it through the door to the bridge, and quickly shuts it behind him before Elly can get through, making her smash into the door.

You attempt to hack open the door, and successfully break past the door's security systems and re-open it within seconds! The soldier was taking a breather on the other side, so he isn't prepared when it re-opens!

"Oh fuck-"

Due to the soldier's shock, Elly's able to lunge straight at the solder's neck, and successfully slashes his neck open. The soldier falls to the ground, trying to wrestle Elly off of him, but she uses her teeth to bite into his jugular, killing him.

>Finally... I'm very low on power now, but at least I'm very close to escaping this dump. >There might still be some soldiers hiding in the barracks. Lets lock that door.

You use your stolen ID to close the door between the mess hall and foyer, and then hack it to stay closed.

>Good. If someone tries to open it, it'll stay closed. Now, lets head to the armory!

You tell Elly to follow and you use the dead soldier's ID to get into the comms room, which is devoid of people, and then go into the armory, which you find is...

>COMPLETELY EMPTY!? What the fuck? Did EVERYONE here go out on some sort of mission?

Walking around the room to make sure there isn't anything left, you find one laser rifle left on the ground, the same kind the other soldiers were using.

>Seems like they were in a rush to grab weapons and all left. Would explain how few people I ran into. This also means... A lot of armed soldiers are likely going to be coming back soon.
>Doesn't look like there's any wall panels here I can use to steal power from, and these guns have no way for me to convert their energy into power. The only places to get more power will probably be off this station.

Elly wanders around the empty armory, visibly winded. "I'm... Getting kinda tired and thirsty..."

"Can't you just drink their blood?" You say as you pick up the left over laser gun.

"No... Need... Water..." Elly lets out a large sigh.

>There must be a way to get more power here...

You move to the comms room, and look around for any power panels on the walls. There are none that you can see, so you decide to use a stolen ID to unlock one of the communication consoles there. On it you find an option to show a more detailed map of the station, and you see that there's a way to get to the station's power generator by crawling through a hidden maintenance shaft.

>Damn, that's pretty far away, and through the door I just locked! Hey, what's this message pop up here?

You touch a part of the communications panel that's blinking, and it shows a message.

Was sent 3 minutes ago from Ship 1:
Operation to capture the Moth was a complete blunder, and the guys we sent to clean it up weren't able to find Ship 2. Looks like it's been hijacked, their distress signal mentioned something about being attacked by a robot, wonder if they're related to that piece of scrap we stole. Client isn't going to be happy about this at all, we're heading back. Our ETA should be around 10 minutes.

Also, what's with the alarm back at the station? One of you pricks better not have pulled it as a prank again.

-General 0

>A robot saving Moth? It can only be Brother! Ha, I knew I didn't have to worry about him! Did that say ship 2? Maybe I can use this control panel to send a signal to that ship!

Before you mess around with the communications console though, you decide to ask Elly something. "So, are you going to die?"

Elly's breathing sounds labored. "I think... I'll be fine for a while. But anymore fighting... Will probably make me pass out."

So I can't rely on her to fight for me any longer. I'd have to fight any other soldiers by myself.

"Elly, pick up a gun, and lets go!"

Elly lethargically takes one of the fallen soldier's guns. "I'm... Not that good at using guns though... But I'll try!"

You hack open the door you closed, and make your way to the maintenance shaft. You hit a small button on the wall, and it opens the door to the shaft, letting you climb into it, and make your way to the generator.

You find the power generator, and quickly jerry-rig some wires sticking out from it into the hole in your chest, and you instantly feel your back-up battery getting refilled. Once you have full power, you start trying to hack all of the doors shut.

>Being far away from the doors makes hacking into them harder, unless I hack directly into the station security system...

You look around the room, and see a engine monitoring console, showing the status of the engine. It also allows you to check the station's alert status and the status of machines and doors on the station.

>I could attempt hacking into the security system through that, should give me access to door controls and security cameras. Though if I fail, it'll probably set off alarms and make it obvious where I'm at. What to do...

As you think about what to do, you notice Elly sitting against the wall. She's breathing heavily and looks visibly distressed. "Water..." You don't think she'll be able to run anymore in her current state.

>Setting off an alarm would be making it extra dangerous for Brother, so I shouldn't risk it.

You decide just to wait, keeping yourself attached to the generator to keep your back-up battery charged. Elly continues to breathe heavily, but her condition doesn't seem to be getting any worse. After about 20 minutes of waiting, your audio sensors pick up the sound of someone crawling through the maintenance shaft! Thinking it might be Brother, you try send out a signal to reach him, but you don't sense him anywhere nearby.

>Wait, that voice!

You stop your blade an inch from their face, and they crawl backwards. "You nearly killed me! Jerk!" They stand up, remove their helmet, and long brown hair comes flowing out of it.

"Hah, I should've expected you! I'm glad to see you're more competent than I thought, sneaking in here alone." You say as retract your arm blade.

"Says the robot that got themselves injured and captured. Looks like you're truly helpless without me." Eyre retorts with a smug smile. Eyre's eyes are then drawn to Elly, who seems too tired to even comprehend what's going on. Eyre's mood instantly changes. "Tricking more people into dying for you, Boss?" Eyre says with a scathing tone in her voice.

"Must you always criticize me? Anyway, fishface is still alive-"

"Not for long! She has blood loss and dehydration! And she's losing consciousness!"

Irritated that Eyre is more concerned about Elly than you, you turn away from them. "Be happy she's still alive at all. Idiot couldn't even take down a few guards on her own- HEY! LET GO OF THE CAPE!"

Eyre rips off pieces of your cape and uses them to wrap up the wound on Elly's arm. "Oh shut up. Don't you always say that all of the damage to your cape gives it character?"

Somehow, despite Eyre's whining and blatant disregard for you, you still feel relaxed knowing she is safe.

"So, how is Brother doing?" You ask, leaning your back against the wall, and keeping your cape out of grabbing range of Eyre.

Eyre finishes wrapping up Elly's arm. "He's hiding in the ship we commandeered, I was able to put on a disguise and trick them all into thinking I was the last survivor from the attack and flew the ship here. Moth's there as well." Eyre stands up and thinks. "Damn, how am I going to get you two back to the ship? Due to your murders here, the whole place is on high alert and crawling with soldiers now. Any ideas, Boss? >Use the vent shaft to get to the armor
>load up on weapons
>from there, get to the hangar and mad-dash to the ship
>somewhere along the way find a staff restroom to let Elly chug, unless there’s water in the ship (do staff restrooms exist on badguy ships? Let’s hope so!)
>>
>>4684972
> Escape plan: have Eyre return to the ship, then have the ship breach the hull where we are. That way we can escape without anyone noticing.
> Have someone (either Brother or Moth) hack all the other ships as well so nobody pursues us
> Attempt to hack the security system just before we exit. If successful, we would have a few more options at our disposal (like locking every door in the ship so that we can raid the mess hall and get water for Elly without getting swarmed by everyone)

While Eyre is thinking, you suggest a few ideas. "How about we use the vents to get to the armory, get some weapons, and then get to the hangar from there and dash to the ship?"

Eyre shakes her head. "No vents lead to the armory, we'd have to go through the bridge. I took the time to check the map of this place before sneaking in. "

"Then, what about you going back to the ship to cause a breech in the hull here, so we can escape? Brother and I could even attempt to hack into the ships to stop them from pursuing us."

Eyre closes her eyes in thought. "That's... Not a terrible idea. However, while you don't need oxygen to survive, this alien does. If they're exposed to the vacuum of space for too long in their delicate state, they will die. I don't think going loud is the best idea, we're outnumbered, have someone who's injured, and attempting to hack their ships might not work."

"Well, if you're going to criticize my genius ideas, why don't you come up with some plan?"

Eyre signs. "I'm trying to. I just think that being stealthy is our best option. If you really want to do one of your ideas, I won't object to them."

>A stealthy approach, huh? That's certainly more boring, but is there even a way to get out of here now without getting spotted or raising some sort of alarm?

"Eyre, how much access to this station do you have?"

Eyre flashes an ID at you. "One of the soldiers that was on our ship had high level access, so I currently have access to the entire station. That said, I've only gotten this far by avoiding their commander and tricking the lower level soldiers into thinking I'm higher rank than them. My cover could easily be blown if someone of higher rank noticed I'm not who I claim I am."

>I wonder if her access could be used to help plan out a stealthy escape. Elly being currently incapacitated certainly isn't going to make a stealthy escape easy...

"How about this plan: I hack into the security system to get access to the ship's door and camera systems, then I lock all of the doors except the ones we need to open to escape? And we just fight through whatever rabble we happen to run into."

Eyre nods. "That seems like a good idea. However, one of us will likely have to help this alien since they can't move much. And if we take too long, they'll probably find a way to circumvent the hacked doors." Eyre looks deep in thought. "Hmmm... I feel like we might be overlooking something... But we can't spend too much time here thinking. I heard the soldiers are going to be bringing supply boxes to the ships in the hangar, and re-supplying them. If we wait too long they'll probably find Moth and the robot hiding in ship 2. Should we start preparing our plan, Boss?"

"Lets go with my plan. However, I want you contact Moth and Brother first. We'll wait here."

"Alright, I'll- Oh wait, I forgot!" Eyre quickly fishes something out of her pants pocket. "Aha! Forgot Moth gave me this. He hacked this radio to be on a private frequency, so I can talk to him." Eyre hits a button on the radio. "Moth, do you read? I've found Boss, and..."

Eyre proceeds to explain the situation over the radio.

"... And that's the plan. Can you help us out? Over."

You hear Moth's voice from the radio. "Alright, I guess. Me and the robot will attempt to secure the hangar when you give us the signal. Try not to screw up the hack, over."

"You have no need to fear, insect. My hacking skills are unmatched!" You strike a intimidating pose.

Eyre chuckles as she puts away the radio. "Alright, are we ready? I'll carry the alien, I'll be able to run while carrying her but it'll be harder for me to shoot."

>Alright, time to start phase 1 of the plan!

You use the engine console to attempt to hack into the security system of the station. After expertly hacking past its security, you gain control of the station's cameras and doors, and can see into almost every room on the station.

>Damn, it seems that the hangar's cameras are broken. Won't be able to see how many soldiers are in there. Brother will probably be able to hold his own though.

You wait until you see the least amount of soldiers obstructing your path.

>I could wait longer, but they might notice I've hacked into the system if I take too long. Should I shut the doors and begin our escape?

>Lets begin.

You hack all of the doors that aren't in your path shut. Eyre picks up Elly and carries her on her back, and you detach yourself from the power generator. Eyre then takes out her radio and tells Moth to begin the plan. Both of you crawl through the vent and dash your way into the mess hall, and the solder turns around to see you.

You hack the door to the foyer shut before the soldier can run through it.

>Alright, now time to shank him-

However, the soldier doesn't stop running in time, and bashes right into the closed door! He falls to the ground, completely unconscious.

>... He went out cold. Looks like Elly isn't the only one that bashes her head into doors.

>Speaking of Elly, this would probably be a good chance to get her some water.

You rip off one of the sleeves of the soldier's suit, and wrap it around his hands as makeshift handcuffs. He doesn't react to you moving him around at all, he's completely knocked out.

"Eyre, find the fish some water before we move on" You order after you finish handcuffing the soldier.

Eyre nods, and rushes over to a water fountain. She lets Elly down and pushes the button to make it shoot water, and Elly starts drinking it. After a minute, Elly steps away from the fountain, refreshed.

"Aaaaaaaah! Now I'm good!" The light has returned to Elly's eyes and she looks revitalized.

Eyre smiles. "Good. Here, take this soldier's gun." Eyre takes the unconscious soldier's gun an hands it to Elly, who fumbles around with it.

>Alright, at least she won't be deadweight now.

"Lets go." You motion for Eyre and Elly to follow, hack the door back open and continue into the foyer.

"Eyre, before we enter lets try and get a grasp of the situation. Contact Moth."

Eyre nods and takes out her radio. "Moth, come in. How are things in the hangar? Over."

You hear Moth's voice over the radio, and he sounds panicked. "There was a lot of soldiers, and the robot took care of them... But then their commander appeared, and the other soldiers have just been watching the two fight! I-I can't tell who's winning!"

>Heh, looks like the enemy commander likes to put on a show. Wonder if Brother will go all-out again...

"No point in waiting anymore, lets run in there and help!" Eyre and Elly nod, and you hack open the door to the hangar. You're greeted by a scene of Brother and the enemy commander battling it out in the middle of a bunch of soldiers. Brother is using a laser sword with one hand, while the enemy commander appears to be using some type of gauntlets as weapons. Their attacks are lightning fast and send sparks flying everywhere!

The enemy commander laughs. "Stand down?! After what you've done to my men?! I carry the lives of all of the men you've killed on my back, and it's my duty as a commander to make sure their deaths weren't in vain!" The two resume their battle, with neither having the clear advantage.

>Fine... I'll go with your plan. You better not mess up!

You point at the door of ship 2, which gets Eyre and Elly to understand what you're planning to do. You quietly sneak close to the door while all of the enemies are distracted. Both of you grab the door, and slide it into place as fast as you can, but it isn't fast enough to stop the commander from lodging his gauntlets through the doorway! He then tries forcing the door open!

Eyre stands at the cockpit, quickly hitting buttons and getting the ship ready to fly. "Get that door closed, or all of the air in this room will get sucked out when we fly out of the hangar!" Eyre yells frantically.

Despite both of your robotic strength, the two of you are unable to get the door shut!

>If we keep struggling like this the door will probably break! What do we do?!

>Keep trying to force it shut (Requires roll, rolling too high can break the door)
>Have Brother keep trying to shut the door while you knock the commander away (Requires roll)
>Tell Eyre to punch it and hope the commander gets sucked into space so you can close the door

You stop trying to close the door, and instead start bashing yourself into the commander's gauntlets, trying to break their grip.

>Damn, it's no good! He won't let go!

You take out your laser gun and plan to shoot him through the crack in the door, but suddenly Elly runs up and grabs one of the ends of the commander's gauntlets! "Boss! Grab the other one and pull it away!" You grab it, and start trying to weaken its grip.

You hear a series of bangs, and notice that Elly is using her explosive fin to give her more pushing power. Slowly but surely, the commander's grip weakens and his gauntlets slip through the crack, and Brother shoves the door completely shut!

Brother puts his back against the door to keep it firmly shut, and says "Eyre! Get us out of here!"

Eyre nods, and you feel the ship suddenly lurch forward, and through the cockpit window you see the stars go from dots to long lines. After a few moments, everyone finally relaxes, and Eyre runs right up to you and pats you on the head. "I'll give you credit Boss, I didn't expect that plan to work. But we made it!"

You swat her hand away, not liking how she pats your head like you're a child. "Of course we made it, my plans are always flawless!"

Brother walks up to you. "Well, you're welcome."

>"Don't make me laugh, I could've escaped on my own, I never needed your help!"
>"Thanks."

Let's thank our brother

No need to hold up appearances when a fellow is around. Treat them with honesty

>... Well, I guess showing thanks for once won't hurt.

You try and say thanks, but due to how rarely you genuinely show your emotions, your audio system has an error and it sounds like you stutter. "T-T-Thanks..."

Eyre and Moth laugh, while Brother puts his working arm on your shoulder. "I'm just glad we got you back safely, and it looks like we even have a new member of our crew now." Brother looks over at Elly, who's staring at Moth.

"... So is this bug our livestock? When are we cooking him?" Says Elly with droll leaking out of her mouth.

"K-Keep that beast away from me!" Moth yells as he hides behind Brother.

Eyre continues laughing. "Hah... Well, I guess I better start searching for a place we can dock to get you two robots fixed up, and we'll need to find supplies soon if we don't want to all get eaten by Boss's new friend."

"Don't think you can treat me without respect just because I'm no longer a leader of a gang, Eyre. That beast isn't my friend, I just decided to let it live and follow me." You say while trying to strike an intimidating pose, which only makes Eyre laugh harder. Still, despite the teasing, you feel happy to be all together again.

Brother looks out at the lines of passing stars through the window. "Now we can finally continue our goal of getting real bodies..."

"Don't worry Brother, with me around, nothing will be impossible!" You say as you put your arm around Brother.

You also look out at the passing stars, excited about thinking where your journey with Brother will take you next.

And that's all for this chapter of the quest. Thank you all so much for playing anons, I hope you all enjoyed it.

However I'm sorry to say that this quest won't continue for a long while, my classes will start up again soon and I'll have some more boring life stuff keeping me busy. I also want to spend some time trying to learn how to actually draw, and I really don't know where to take the quest from here I need to spend some time thinking of a story to write.

I'll probably be able to give an update at around the end of this year, keep an eye out on /qtg/, I don't lurk there all the time but if you ask a question about the quest I might see it and might be able to answer on when I'll be able to continue, and I'll for sure post updates there when I actually am able to continue the quest.

Once again, thank you all so much for playing!
