Miho, your Servant has surrendered to me, are you going to follow suit, or are you going to be staying in the bubble?" It's something of a bluff, you can't keep that orb of energy going forever, and if you tried you'd end up running out of all your magical energy. Seeing as you just got attacked by a Servant and her Master in the daytime, you can safely assume that night in Misaki Town might be even worse.

The Half-Oni inside the orb has completely reverted to her human form and looks downright miserable "Yes, damn it." You allow the element of truth to dissipate, no longer keeping it in the world through your own power. She lands flat on her back and just groans instead of trying to get up.

"So. First off, this bounty on me, who set it... which of the organizers? Kirei or the hooded girl?" You want to know whether or not it's Ciel or the damn fake priest you've got to blame for this. Ciel shouldn't be immortal anymore now that you've erased the existence of Roa from reality itself... you think. You hope she realizes that before she does something stupid and dies for real.

"Uhm... Well, we were all given a notice of summons to the construction site of the old Fuyuki Church that's being repaired, but only three groups ended up showing up, Rider and her Master, Lancer alone, and Ibaraki and myself. Rider's Master just laughed at Kotomine-san for a while before leaving with his Servant, Lancer didn't say anything and ended up leaving after Kotomine-san had finished, and it really felt like only me and Berserker were serious about getting the extra command spells. Well, we didn't want to pass up on the opportunity to win the war... especially when it was an opportunity to get rid of the... uh... the biggest cheater in the war, and Berserker wanted to get rid of you for... personal reasons." Probably something to do with the disappearance of Shuten.

You laugh out loud. "Wow. Right, let's clarify a few things on my end. First off, Assassin chose to join my faction and seemed to be comfortable when she was still... active." You feel a little bit awkward about just how quickly you managed to lose Shuten to the girl underneath the temple, and kind of guilty too.

"Hey... what do you mean by 'active'?" You hear the Oni laying on the floor groan in pain as her favorite topic of conversation is brought up.

"I mean that the true enemy, of everyone fighting in the war and of the world itself are the two girls underneath the temple in Fuyuki, two girls with connections to the Root and each and every Servant from the last grail war under their control. On the night of Shuten's disappearance, I attacked her temple, unaware of what lied beneath. As a result, the majority of my allies were captured by the girls, and right now, I'm still trying to think of a way to defeat her. They are limited by their magical energy, so it should be possible to overwhelm the two of them through enough force, so long as you don't get blindsided. The girl I believe is responsible for the second set of Servants for some reason, but I don't know why. In addition, thanks to the events of the Third Grail War, the Greater Grail has become infected with the essence of a God of Evil, which will twist any wish made on the grail to be one that causes the most suffering." The oni on the floor looks kind of... close to tears as you explain the uselessness of the grail. "A wish to bring about world peace would bring a world without war about through eradicating all humanity but one family, as an example."

"But... that... that's horrible! Why is the war still being fought then?" Miho is clearly starting to recover from her nausea now, but you can tell that she doesn't want to fight you anymore. The very fact that you defeated her and her Servant so completely but didn't kill her has gone a long way to secure her trust. "So... there's no wish at the end of all this?"

"No. There never was a wish, and the reason for the continuation of the war is magus greed and stupidity. Mostly on the part of the Einzbern Family of magi, or well, the golem that currently heads the family. The homunculi aren't aware of the corruption of the grail."

"Never... was a wish?" Miho chooses to focus on the most shocking part of your sentence, and you decide to elaborate a little for the girl.

"The Grail, as it exists, isn't actually a holy artifact that grants wishes, and while it can be used to grant some 'wishes', they aren't 'true' wishes at all. At its core, the grail is just a container for the magical energy of slain Servants, and while it can use that magical energy to bring about a variety of effects, the true purpose of a grail war is for the Master to betray their Servant at the end of the war in order to gather enough magical energy to open a pathway to the Root." It's the perfect plan! That only fails every single time somebody attempts it without fail.

"Of course. As if magi would really be interested in anything else." Arcueid states from behind you, her opinion on magi isn't good it seems, though it's not inaccurate at all. Most magi would sacrifice their entire family in order to get a shot at the Root. They are truly obsessed with it.

You hear a sigh from Ibaraki as she looks up at the ceiling. "So... it was all for nothing. There never was an actual chance of fulfilling my wish? Ha... Well, I suppose that's just my luck, at least Shuten... isn't dead." Ibaraki sounds terribly miserable as the words sink in.

"There's one more thing I need to ask you... you weren't working with Assassin's master, were you?" You need to know if they were actually working with that old worm bastard personally, though somehow, you doubt either of the two girls here would even consider working with Zouken. They just aren't the type.

"What? No, we never even met them. Assassin didn't seem to be in any sort of a hurry to introduce him, and he never showed himself personally. I was just sort of... forced to go along with what Berserker wanted to do... and Berserker wanted to do what Assassin told her to do." That sounds... awfully plausible. "Then Berserker kind of became a little obsessed with you after Shuten disappeared. Your scent was all over the place she was supposed to meet Assassin." These two Oni are actually kind of bumbling idiots, aren't they? You think you'd feel bad if you killed them, it would be like drowning a sack of dumb puppies.

"Alright, well first off, I want to know what your wishes are, I need to know just what sort of people the two of you are, and just what it is that could drive you to try to kill other people in a battle royale. Mostly you, Miho, but I'd also like to know just what it is that you seek, Ibaraki." You decide that before anything else, you're going to get these Oni to tell you just what they want. Just what could drive them to kill... though they are Oni, so the killing of humans should come as something natural to them. It seems that Miho is quite a bit more meek when she's not calling upon the power of her blood. Or at least appears to be that way.

"My wish..." Miho sighs. "It was to bring back somebody precious to me that I... I lost when I was just a child." The girl seems to be slowly coming to the terms that her wish will be impossible, and honestly, even the non-corrupted grail likely wouldn't be able to truly bring somebody back from the dead. At best it would be able to create a false version of the person from your memories, a trick form of life composed solely of your memories of what they were like, a happy lie. The only true way to ensure you could replicate somebody perfectly would be through having a complete copy of their structure stored as a blue-print, and even then it would simply be a perfect copy, and not the real thing. "I've been alone for so long... that I just wanted to see her face again..."

"I'm sorry." Is all you say. There's not really much you can say or offer to the girl. Her story is quite sad, but you can't really do anything about it.

"Don't be like that... Under-... Master... I'm here with you aren't I? You're not alone anymore." The other Oni on the floor tries to reassure her master, and your attention shifts to the horned girl laying there. "My wish... it's stupid, but..." Ibaraki pauses and seems to decide not to say her next few words. Deciding against revealing just what she wants, and you begin to try to recall what the Oni's wish was, it's been years and years, but you think it was something to do with Shuten being happy? You keep staring at Ibaraki as you try to think of what she might be fighting for, and the girl, completely misreading the situation, loses her temper. "Fine! You want to know what I wanted? I wanted to go back and stop Shuten from getting herself killed! I wanted to prevent the downfall of the Oni, I wanted to destroy the Minamoto before they could destroy us!" Ibaraki blurts out a wish that you weren't really expecting her to have. You're left speechless at the words of the Oni.

"Berserker... is that... really what you were fighting for?" Miho sounds shocked by just what Ibaraki was looking to do with the grail. Of course, while it does sort of cover the whole 'making Shuten happy' thing, it's still a far larger wish than you were expecting her to have. A wish that may have just caused Oni in Japan to never truly die out as a direct result of it. If that wish was actually made, it would've ended up completely rewriting a portion of Japan's history. The lack of Minamoto no Raikou would mean that any attempt to assault the Oni would be met with disaster, the Four Heavenly Kings alone would not be able to overcome the Oni without their leader to battle Shuten, and the tale would've had a very different ending and moral.

"I told you it's stupid." Ibaraki huffs. Seems like she feels some shame about the idea of effectively cheating to rid herself of an opponent she doesn't herself have a hope of defeating. You feel sorry for her, but again, such a wish is kind of a ridiculous one in the first place. Especially when she's already had her reunion with Shuten, seems that Ibaraki simply doesn't want her reunion to have to end, so she'd be willing to effectively erase the person she ended up being.

"I don't think that's a stupid wish at all, Berserker... I think that it's a..." Miho seems to be relieved at the strange innocence behind Ibaraki's destructive and callous wish. It's not a wish born of a want for revenge against the Minamoto, but it's a wish born simply out of nostalgia for, as Ibaraki would see it, the best times of her life.

"Look, can you two do this a bit later?" Arcueid interrupts the two having a heartfelt exchange. "I think Shinji has some more questions for the two of you, so..." Arcueid obviously doesn't care much for the two Oni's wishes, the True Ancestor not really showing much empathy at all for the two girls.

"Um... Right, thank you, Arcueid. I would ask you if you would be willing to make amends so I can help you accomplish those wishes, but... I think that your wish is perhaps out of my power, Ibaraki." Even if you could fulfill such a wish, you wouldn't anyway. It's one which could have disastrous consequences to the country of Japan. "As for your wish Miho... I am... uncertain."

"Huh?" Miho looks at you in surprise, and you offer her a hand to get up, which she takes.

"I have yet to master my abilities, but I think that it ought to be possible to do something like bring the dead back to life were I to actually properly be able to control them." Hell, you erased Roa from the Root itself when you had a backdoor into it, who's to say that you couldn't do the inverse if the opportunity arose? Never mind the fact that Zelretch exists, and bringing somebody back to life for him is as simple as grabbing them from an alternative timeline or the past. "As for Shuten, I am of course doing everything in my power to retrieve her from the girl under the grail, I assure you that I will get her back, Ibaraki."

"You better..." Ibaraki's words are clearly meant as something of a threat to you, which is ended the moment she catches sight of Arcueid's threatening smile "...please?" The demon's demand turns into a bizarre request out of a genuine and true fear for the True Ancestor. An opponent that even herself and Shuten fighting together wouldn't be able to defeat, one who could obliterate all three of the Oni without even trying in the time it takes their blood to fall to the ground if she was actually fighting without holding back. Arcueid Brunestud has strength that almost no monster could ever hope to match..

"I will. I do want to ask though, Miho. Are you OK with fighting alongside Berserker even after finding out the grail is useless? Will you fight alongside me to save the world?" You know, that line really does sound unbelievably corny whenever you use it. It's so damn cliche.

"What sort of a question is that? What sort of a person would I be if I said no?" Miho almost sounds offended by the idea of you even having to ask her.

"I'm going to fight with my Master until the end. I made her that promise when she summoned me, and Oni aren't the sort to go back on promises." Ibaraki finally finds the energy to pick herself off the floor, and she eyes the True Ancestor warily.

"Well, that's good. Now then, disable this Noble Phantasm, and let's go have the two of you apologize to all of the people who got caught up in this." You cross your arms sternly, and the two girls wince. The deactivation of Ibaraki's Noble Phantasm reverses all the damage dealt to the interior of the mansion as it once again takes on the previous appearance it had, and you're forced to take the hallway back to the meeting room instead of simply walking through the holes in the walls.

As you walk out of the room you were in you see quite literally the last person on the planet you ever expected to see again leaning against the wall of the corridor, garbed in a loose blue kimono. His somewhat long hair a light brown and his eyes a bright blue, even his skin seems to be less pale than the last time you saw him, and you freeze, just as Arcueid does. SHIKI?!

"Not quite the reaction I was expecting to receive from the two who saved me." The true son of the Tohno frowns at your shock.

"SHIKI? is that you?" You look at the boy, unable to hide the surprise on your face at the appearance of the boy. He didn't die when Roa did... and his Inversion Impulse was reversed too?! How?! Arcueid is eyeing the previous host of Roa with suspicion, prepared to strike him down at any moment.

"Woah! Wait a second, hold on there! There's no need to rip my body apart again, that vampire is gone now." You still don't trust SHIKI just because Roa is gone. "So is the Inversion Impulse. Looks like when you got rid of that thing in my head, something happened to my body. I... found my wounds being healed without even doing anything about it myself, almost as if they were being reversed by the world itself." Oh... well, that can't be good. "I felt something trying to... irritate the demon blood again a few minutes ago, but nothing ended up happening." SHIKI muses for a moment.

"Then... does Akiha know?" You question the boy, who doesn't seem that bothered about you knowing so much about him. After witnessing your abilities first hand, he's looking at you like you're some sort of mythical existence, some sort of wish-granting God. It's actually kind of unnerving you.

SHIKI shrugs "I've yet to tell her. I'm thinking of leaving Misaki Town for a while, I need to get my thoughts in order, it's been so long since I've been in control of them, and I don't want to risk lashing out at her or Shiki."

You put a hand on your chin. "You said that it felt like your wounds were reversed by the world itself, didn't you? That it wasn't a result of your own power that you're here right now." It couldn't possibly be the same sort of thing Ciel has, could it?

"I... did." SHIKI doesn't seem to understand just what you're getting at for a moment, but if you're right about what happened to the boy, then you may have just done something completely unintended.

"Well, could you try just giving yourself a minor cut for a moment, and try not to regenerate it by yourself." You instruct the boy, you just want to make sure you're right before you say anything.

"Uh. Alright." SHIKI is quite different in personality now that his inversion is no longer plaguing his mind, he's able to clearly think and act as a human once again for the first time in nearly a decade. SHIKI doesn't actually use any sort of knife in order to cut himself, and instead relies upon his power as a Mixed-Blood to give himself a small wound on his index finger.

The wound is gone just ten seconds after he caused it, and he looks at it in confusion, so you decide to explain. "Well, it seems to me like you've become something of a true immortal. You won't age, any wound you take will be reversed, and even the act of dying will be rapidly reversed by the planet itself." It's ridiculous that something like this ended up happening, but given the circumstances, this will probably end up being useful to you.

"But... why?" SHIKI doesn't really seem to understand you very well, it seems like he didn't inherit any of Roa's magical knowledge before you erased the vampire from the Root. Ah well, you can't have it all. Though when you think about it, if Ciel inherited all of Roa's magical knowledge, shouldn't she be capable of manifesting a Reality Marble? She should at least know all the mechanics behind the creation of one, even if Roa's own Marble is unavailable to her for some reason. Thank goodness Ciel doesn't want to use her magecraft...

The way you killed Roa, if the world won't allow either Ciel or as things now appear SHIKI to die until the Dead Apostle known as Roa meets his death, then of course this was the only possible result! Two people who have immortality that will only end with the death of something that doesn't exist. "Because of that vampire, when I erased him, it had a strange effect on the world. The world right now considers your existence linked to the death of non-existence." It's a bizarre thing to say to somebody, that they are now almost completely immortal thanks to you. In fact, the superiority of the concept of 'only dying when non-existence dies' may actually make it so both Ciel and SHIKI are immune to even the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception. Probably best if Shiki doesn't look at either of them now, you don't know how they'll look to those eyes. "Now that's out of the way, let's go see Akiha, shall we? I'll vouch for you if you need it." You know that Akiha never forgave her brother for what he did to Shiki, and also wants to keep SHIKI's existence a secret from Shiki in order to prevent him from having to relive the pain of knowing he's the last survivor of the Nanaya clan of Demon Hunters or when his childhood best friend became a monster and attempted to kill both him and Akiha, but she shouldn't be capable of holding a grudge against an uninverted version of SHIKI, right? "You can't just run from your problems. I know that better than most people."

"I... I don't know if she'll accept me after what I did back when I was inverted... but you're right. I can't just run away from her after what happened. I need to talk to her... and Kohaku." His face takes on a cold glaze as he mentions the name of the maid, and there's a tone of anguish in his voice as he recalls just what he's been responsible for as a result of everything going poorly for him. Roa, his Oni-blood and even Kohaku's brainwashing attempts through drugging him. "Let's go. I have... a few apologies I need to make." SHIKI looks downright miserable. "It's the least I could do after everything that happened, then I guess I'll go with you." Seems that SHIKI doesn't want to stay in Misaki town, not that you can really blame him.

Your group, now one person larger, walks back towards the meeting hall, and upon entering, you see Satsuki and Sakura chatting with each other while Touko has a hand on the forehead of one of the Branch-members, clearly using some sort of memory alteration on them, looks like she's just about done, with the only person left to be hypnotized being Akiha herself. A quick glance about the room also lets you see two unconscious maid twins that have been placed into a corner, clearly drawn to the commotion of the battle and hypnotized as a result. You're going to need to introduce everyone, but first you're going to need to decide whether or not you should let Akiha get her memories altered.

You really can't be bothered to keep trying to hide your secrets from Akiha, especially not now that you've already achieved everything you set out to do.

"Hmm? Oh, of course, Wakame-kun... I take it that you've successfully managed to convince your attackers to come to your side... and...?" Touko takes note of the arrival of SHIKI. The appearance of the boy seems to intrigue Touko far more than it has any right to.

"This is SHIKI Tohno. You might remember him from last night. He's the biological brother of Akiha over there." You point at the girl sleeping in a chair. "And could you wake her up too? I need her to be awake for her brother to talk to, they've got quite a lot to talk about.

"Oh... right, I do remember seeing somebody like him. So, he's free of the Dead Apostle Ancestor's corruption now?" Touko muses, still quite interested in the boy who you granted an ultimate form of immortality to entirely by accident.

"That's right. He's also completely immortal now." You say with a cheerful smile. "There's not a force on this planet that could kill him now, not even Shiki's Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, I'd wager." Touko's eyes widen slightly at your theory of a being on the same level of immortality as an Ultimate One, one with no concept of death whatsoever. SHIKI looks kind of nervous being spoken about like he's some sort of bizarre artifact that belongs in a museum. Though he doesn't really seem to be that bothered by it. "Also, I need at least somebody for these two pests to properly apologize to." You gesture at the two Oni girls, Miho is hanging her head while Ibaraki, in an attempt not to look out of place, follows the actions of her master. You... You really hope that she's looking where she's going. Those two horns are no joke!

You're probably going to need to take responsibility for the actions of the girls, but thankfully, it seems that thanks to Satsuki, Sakura and Touko's efforts, nobody ended up getting hurt. Well, except maybe Kouma, but he probably decided to leave when he saw that the battle was done. You'll be seeing him again, of that you have absolutely no doubt.

Touko seems to want to ask a question or two about the apparent immortality of this new friend of yours, but instead decides it might be better to discuss such things with you in private... It's probably for the best anyway. You don't feel like this is the best setting for a prolonged discussion about the immortality you just bestowed on the boy, and while in truth it was a group effort between yourself and Roa, one of the parties involved in the 'group effort' doesn't exist, so looks like it's actually all on you. Even if you can't replicate it by yourself and you needed the incredibly specific circumstances of Roa's reincarnation magecraft.

Instead of questioning SHIKI, Touko walks over to Akiha after finishing rewriting the memories of the last of the branch family members and wakes her up by prodding her in the middle of the forehead. The girl wakes up in a fit of coughs. "Are you OK, Miss Tohno? You had... something of a close call thanks to your mixed-blood. My allies and I managed to reverse the state and have already taken the liberty to erase these events from the minds of everyone else here." She looks at you for a moment and blinks a few times.

"Wait a minute... I remember you now! The boy from the hospital! That was you, wasn't it?" Akiha finally seems to recognize you, and you remain calm, ready to counter any ridiculous argument or theory she might have to throw at you, but instead, the girl smiles for just a moment. "I never got the chance to thank you for trying to help me back there, did I?" Unexpectedly, she's not mad... at you. "But you two..." The girl growls as she gets up from her sitting position and walks straight over to the two Oni-girls, she seems to be completely ignoring the presence of SHIKI in the room for now, has she not noticed him? "What the hell do you think you're doing forcing people to become Crimson Red Vermillion?! Don't you understand what that does to a mixed-blood human!? I might not have been able to turn back!" Miho flinches back at Akiha, convinced that the much weaker girl is going to somehow hurt her. Ibaraki is also frowning, though it's less pronounced. It's quite clear that the girl doesn't like being shouted at, but she also very clearly fears Arcueid too much to speak up for herself.

Miho unexpectedly drops to the ground, and then presses her head against the floor. Prostrating herself to Akiha. "I apologize for my careless actions. I was under the impression that your blood worked under the same principles as my own and Ibaraki's. Please accept my apologies for my wrongful actions against you and your kin." Miho then nudges Ibaraki with an elbow, and the Oni quickly follows her Master's lead after being reminded, puncturing the floor with her horns and not even noticing.

"I'll take responsibility for the actions of these two idiots, and if you need any compensation, I'll be happy to pay out of my own pocket to reimburse you." Seeing these two bumbling morons try to apologize is kind of amusing, actually, but you can't leave them to flounder forever.

Akiha frowns for a moment before she maintains a calm on her face. "I'll accept your apologies, seeing as you clearly didn't know any better, and if your actual targets are willing to forgive you, then It's only right I also do so." Suddenly she blinks in confusion. "Something is... strange with my connection to Shiki? He's... overflowing with energy?" That of all things seems to have completely taken Akiha off guard, and it's at that moment that SHIKI finally gets bored of not being noticed.

"Hello again, Akiha." He smiles happily as he finally looks upon his sister with an uncorrupted mind again. Akiha takes a step backwards in surprise, for as much as you weren't expecting to see the uninverted SHIKI show his face to you, Akiha is currently witnessing something she likely thought would never have been possible.

Really, it seems like Truth+Root connection is the key to the most potent effects we can access, which makes sense as Gaia resisting our changes is the primary limitation of Truth magic.

You consider leaving the room for a moment, but decide against it. You might need to intervene on SHIKI's behalf at some point, after all, Akiha is going to have quite a lot of difficulty in accepting SHIKI coming back to his senses after all that has happened, and you want to make sure that he has somebody to back him up, somebody who understands just what sort of experience SHIKI has had to deal with since Roa forced his inversion when he was a child.

"SHIKI? But... that can't be you... You inverted! I... I saw it! You attacked me and almost killed Shiki!" SHIKI winces at the reminded, and you can tell that it's just as much a painful memory for him now as it is for her. You feel a little bit bad about forcing SHIKI into doing this.

I had wanted to just disappear without saying a word, originally." The inverted SHIKI would never have done something like that, as the insanity of his inversion caused him to become outraged that Shiki would dare steal his life, even though Shiki was innocent of everything. SHIKI back before his inversion requested that Shiki kill him should he ever invert, if you're remembering things correctly.

"SHIKI..." Akiha doesn't seem to know what to make of all that has happened today. "You're... you're not going to go see Shiki, are you?" Seems that she doesn't want the illusion Shiki is under about his true name and family to be broken. A protective lie, but a lie all the same. Does she think that Shiki will hate her after he finds out what the Tohno did to the Nanaya? "This isn't some sort of trick, just so you can get close to Shiki and hurt him again, is it?!" Akiha's disbelief of the situation transforms into anger, thinking that she's simply being tricked by the inverted SHIKI.

"No. It's not." You step in. "Shiki was... possessed, if you'll believe it. A wicked spirit caused him to lose control of himself and attack you when you were younger. I've managed to exorcise the spirit, and as a result, SHIKI has been restored to a normal state." You feel like telling Akiha that SHIKI has achieved a supreme level of immortality might not exactly be helpful for the situation.

Your words seem to mollify Akiha for a moment, and SHIKI sighs. "Back then... when I attacked Shiki, I joined my life force to his own, so that I would be able to survive my own death, and you shared some of your own life force with Shiki in order to save his life... I was the one siphoning off of that source in order to remain alive. I... I want to make amends for what I did when I was suffering from my inversion, but right now, all I can do is... reverse the flow of life force, so now he's surviving off me instead." Wait... he did? What could that mean for Shiki, if he's being provided with life energy from somebody who has become an unlimited supply of it? You... You're going to need to find Shiki. You don't think the boy is going to be suffering problems with a weak constitution anymore.

"Then... you're why Shiki is pulsing with energy now? But how could you have so much?" Akiha sounds just a little suspicious of the tremendous amount of life energy that SHIKI apparently has now. Of course, she's provided Shiki with the energy he needs to live for years, even at risk to herself inverting.

"I can thank Makiri-san here for that." SHIKI gives you a true smile as he thanks you. You hadn't set out to save SHIKI, because you honestly never thought such a thing possible, but you're genuinely glad that you managed to save him. "Something he did when he got rid of the... wicked spirit possessing me." SHIKI doesn't elaborate any further. You want to tell SHIKI that just Shinji will do fine for your name, but you decide you can do that a little later. "As for going to see Shiki... I don't know if I can face him yet. Him or Kohaku..."

"Kohaku?" Akiha echoes the name of the maid lying unconscious in the corner, while she herself doesn't really buy Kohaku's ditzy maid act, she has no idea just how deep that rabbit hole goes.

"I... I did something unspeakably wrong to her while I was inverted... and she... she never forgave the Tohno for what happened to her." His face is pained as he looks away from the maid. "Just... Just talk to her. You need to help her get over what happened to her. I... I can't even bring myself to look at her after what I did to her." SHIKI must feel horribly guilty over the actions he took while he wasn't truly the one in control of himself. To almost kill his best friend and then to, well... rape Kohaku.

Akiha looks at SHIKI once again. "I understand. I won't forgive you for what you've done. But... I'm glad you've returned to who you once were, SHIKI." She gives her estranged brother a weak smile. "But, you can't stay here." The smile fades. Akiha doesn't sound like she's enjoying the idea of banishing her brother after he's finally returned to his senses, but for Shiki's sake, it looks like she's even willing to go that far.

"I wasn't planning to, but... this is a load off my mind. Thank you, Akiha." SHIKI turns and walks out of the room in something of a hurry, no longer able to face his painful past. There's a wide happy smile on his face as he leaves the room, and tears in his eyes. Yeah... probably best to give him a moment to himself.

Who he really is?" It'll probably be easier if you get Akiha to tell Shiki what he is instead of doing so yourself or getting SHIKI to do it, especially as SHIKI clearly doesn't want to.

"How much do you know?" Akiha's voice is quiet, and you can tell that she's not exactly happy with this conversation either, but she knows that getting mad now wouldn't actually solve or do anything at all, considering just what an overwhelming force you have with you.

"I know enough to know that you don't need to hide who he is from him. Shiki isn't going to suddenly hate you if you tell him who he really is. He might've held a grudge against your father, but your father is dead." You look Akiha dead in the eyes. "One day, your father's second rate hypnosis is going to wear off by itself, the man wasn't a magus." You didn't mean to insult Makihisa's memory there, but honestly, he was kind of an asshole as well. What sort of lunatic hires a child maid to 'Synchronize' with? You're glad that SHIKI killed him, honestly. If he hadn't you may very well have done so yourself upon finding him alive.

"So... you're saying I should just tell him everything?" Akiha sounds skeptical of your suggestion, and is clearly waiting for you to elaborate upon it.

"Absolutely. Though if I were you, I'd not bring up the whole clan eradication part too much... though honestly, it's not like he would care if he were a true Nanaya." The Nanaya were a truly odd clan, after all.

"What?" Akiha doesn't sound like she believes what you just said, so you elaborate for the girl.

"The Nanaya... They were humans born, raises and trained to be monsters to fight against other monsters. Such things as family relations and empathy meant little to the men of the Nanaya. They only lived for the fight." Shiki's father, Kiri Nanaya, was one of the few men who could scare even Kouma Kishima, despite only having the strength of a human. "Were Shiki to somehow have the mindset of the Nanaya hidden within him, that same man wouldn't care that his family were slaughtered... It's... actually for the better that it happened, at least for Shiki. It's a chance for him to be more than just an emotionless killer of demons." You shrug.

Akiha looks miserable as you tell her just what the Nanaya were like, but there's a small amount of relief mixed in with the misery, the relief of knowing that even if it was by accident, the destruction of the Nanaya allowed Shiki to become an actual person. Of course, that doesn't absolve her of the guilt or the sin of her family's crime against Shiki's family, but at the very least allows some small measure of comfort. "You... maybe I should tell Shiki..."

You allow Akiha a few minutes to think in silence, even though out of the corner of your eye you can see Miho and Satsuki attempting to help Satsuki get her horns out of the floorboards without causing too much damage. That's what you get when you dogeza with horns, you dumb oni. After Akiha seems to get her thoughts in order, you run a hand through your hair and chuckle a little. "Well, now that business is out of the way, I do actually want to invest into Misaki Town, so should we continue the meeting?"

Akiha seems completely and totally stunned by your sudden declaration, the fact that even after everything that just happened and all that you know about the secrets of the Tohno, you still want to go ahead with the meeting. "You know what? I'll just approve any plans you put forward to me. I don't really think I can beat you in business after seeing all this." The very fact that you want to go ahead with the meeting after defeating two bloodthirsty Oni and the entirety of the other occupants of the meeting in addition to everything else. Clearly, Akiha's threshold for how much is too much is quite a lot lower than your own threshold. "It might be a pain explaining it to the branch families, but after all that's happened today, it's clear that if you really wanted to, you and your allies could just hypnotize everyone into agreeing to whatever you wanted anyway." Akiha observes quite calmly.

You hold your hands up to protest your innocence. "Miss Tohno, in all my time as the owner of both Makiri Enterprises and Makiri Industries, I've never stooped to such a level of foul play. After all, why cheat when you don't actually have to?" For somebody with all the cards, what use is an ace up your sleeve?

Touko takes a draw on her cigarette. "Well, I did implant the memory that everyone here thinks the meeting went well, but most of my students meetings aren't interrupted by Oni attacking him... I should hope." Well, that's not really backing up what you're saying, but Akiha doesn't seem to really care. Odds are that the meeting would've gone exceptionally well had the attack not happened anyway.

"T-thank you, Shishou." Not exactly helpful there, Touko, but at least she's telling the truth, and you're not going to get accused of deceiving Akiha at a later date.

"Be that as it may, I'm going to need some time to myself for now. You may feel free to entertain yourself in whatever way you see fit in the mansion till you decide to depart... Just don't tell Shiki about himself if you bump into him. I think I ought to be the one responsible for that." That's fair enough, you think.

"Everyone, please follow me, I wish to discuss what exactly is to be done about our current situation." You're going to need to make a few phone calls, of course, but of all of your allies, only Sakura and Shirou can be relied on to actually carry mobile phones... and Sakura is currently with you right now. You ought to see if Illya wants one at some point.

The journey back to your room with everyone is a short one, and though the meeting didn't feel like it took that long, the sun is already setting. Damn these short January days. You check your connection to Betty and find she managed to fall asleep somewhere outside the meeting room while still remaining in spiritual form. You decide that it's probably for the best if you just left her be for now. It's not like you need to wake her up right now, you're only going to be doing some planning, and no offense to Betty, but she's not really helpful for that sort of stuff. Other than perhaps clarifying just what her abilities are capable of doing.

"Everyone, feel free to go about doing your own things while I make a phone call to Shirou." There's really no point in keeping them hanging around you while you simply make a phone call to Shirou to ask him to get everyone together. You were expecting some grumbling, but Arcueid seems more than happy to go and explore the Tohno Mansion by herself, while Sakura says something about how she wants to see if she can help the maids prepare dinner. Touko you think wanders off in the direction of the basement again, and you have absolutely no idea where Ibaraki and Miho vanish off to. Probably off to cause trouble.

You take your phone and begin dialing Shirou, who quickly picks the phone up and answers you, his voice low. "Shinji? What's going on? Saber and I are tracking this guy right now... Saber thinks he might be trouble, we're just outside the..." Shirou takes a moment to confirm his surroundings, and your heart sinks. "...Misaki Grand Hotel." Oh. Shit.

"What does he look like?" You force the words out, more a command to know than it is a question. You've already got an idea as to just who this might be, but you need to confirm it.

"He's... tall, and he's wearing a dark blue trenchcoat, he's got gray hair and his skin is pale. Do you know anybody like that?" Oh damn it! God damn this city! How many Dead Apostle Ancestors are going to show up here? You were expecting him to make an appearance at some point, but you were hoping Arcueid regaining more of her power would scare him off.

"Do not approach him. Do not allow him to realize you're following him either. That guy is way too dangerous for you and Saber to take on alone. Wait for me to arrive, I'll be there as quickly as I can!" You hang up the phone and look at the command spell on the back of your hand. Nrvnqsr Chaos is an opponent who is beyond most people, and gathering the entire group would take more time than you can spare, right now, you need to be as fast as you can be, you can't afford being slowed down.

I won't be able to follow the thread today, so I would like to post my assault plan right now.

1) Scout out enemy base using Betty's familiars and Touko's divination.
2) Give our allies all the information we have on the enemy.
3) I don't think splitting our forces is a good idea. Even though taking everyone to battle is dangerous leaving our weaker allies alone in a place that is not protected by bounded fields where a single DAA would be able to kill them all is even more dangerous.
4) Considering the fact that we've got a number of mages and Avenger who specializes in ranged combat it's obvious that we have advantage in open field battle. Therefore, our goal in the first phase of battle should be attracting enemy attention and forcing them out into the open.
In order to achieve that we should open battle with a volley of magic and Avenger's arrows. No need to go all out at this point since we are unlikely to deal any serious damage.
5) Once the battle begins we should arrange our forces in this manner:
Avenger and Touko and Shinji against Sword dude. Touko said she came up with some counter measures against his time magic.
Shirou and Saber will handle Mordred. Stab her with Rule Breaker and have Touko contract her. After that, Saber can assist us with sword dude.
Beo and Ibaraki will distract Primate Murder. Their goal is not defeating him bur rather holding him away from our other allies.
Arcueid will be facing off against Altrouge.
Nrvnqsr can be dealt with by Betty and Sakura. His animals shouldn't be able to even scratch Betty and her Mystic Eyes should be able to hold him in place. Once he is immobilized Sakura will vore him.
Zepia is an unknown factor. Is he crazy like in Tsukihime? Is he sane and the head of Atlas like in Fate? In any case if he shows up Arcueid will have to use her Marble Phantasm.
That other pirate guy is also an unknown. I assume we can tank his ship with our Truth barrier. Other than that I have no clue.
6) Everyone else will be reacting to the situation helping main fighters when necessary. Mostly they should stay at some distance from main fighting and just snipe.
7) I am kinda scared that once we begin attacking our enemies will try to retreat instead of retaliating. Perhaps we could camouflage our main forces (Arc, Beo, Touko) with magic to trick our enemies into thinking that we brought only mages and some servants with us.
