A form of attack that is completely and truly impossible for literally any sort of being to see through, even those such as Saber who have a level of instinct capable of allowing them to avoid taking lethal damage from the incomplete form of the Tsubame Gaeshi are powerless against the this particular martial art. Of course, while your own level of skill isn't yet at Kuzuki-sensei's level, you're still something of a prodigy.

You whip your left hand forwards, prepared to strike at a vital point like a snake in order to finish this battle quickly! To your great alarm though, the body of the wolf pivots away from your blow in mid air, avoiding your attack almost completely as it crashes into you! Impossible! They saw through your Snake Style? But your form was perfect!

You manage to roll away from the beast before it can pin you under its considerable weight. So... it saw through Snake-Style? Either it's somehow seen it before, you messed up somehow, or this opponent is of a caliber of fighting skill even greater than Saber! The third options sounds terribly unlikely, Saber is really very talented as a swordswoman, and that talent is massively reinforced by her Instinct being so great. Against Sasaki Kojiro, if every other ability of a Servant other than those relating to fighting with a sword alone were stripped away and their stats were somewhat equalized, you feel like of the original cast of Fate/Stay Night, only Saber would have a true shot at winning, even then she would likely only be able to win perhaps ten percent of the time. Of course, this is all speculation, but seeing as Kojiro was quite literally talented enough with his blade to break reality itself, it's a sure bet to say that in sword skill he's probably at the top.

You snap yourself out of your distracting thoughts! You're in a battle! This is no time to mentally make comparisons between the skill of sword wielders! That sounds like something Shirou would do! You rise to your feet. Your right arm burning with pain, still yet to heal properly. At least you managed to get the majority of those splinters out of your back, otherwise rolling away would've been excruciating and you likely would've lost the fight then and there due to being incapacitated from the pain.

The wolf seems to be eyeing you carefully, clearly it wasn't anticipating your usage of that particular martial art, even if it managed to dodge out of the way of your strike. Seems like it really was aware of Snake-style, then? A wolf with a golden coat...

It jumps towards you once again, and this time you decide to rely on the form of martial arts you're greater with. Bajiquan! You duck under the careless wolf's attempt to bite one of your legs and ram your right elbow into an exposed vital of the wolf! You feel the flesh of the vital spot of the wolf give way for perhaps a quarter of a second before it suddenly becomes as hard as iron! You grit your teeth in pain, shape-shifting?! Wait a minute, that settles it! This golden wolf is somebody you know, and you're in real trouble if he's not just playing around!

The wolf, unperturbed by your last attack, knocks you to the floor with unreal strength. Basically a gentle tap was all it required to make your legs completely buckle. The wolf towers over you, not bothering to grow into a larger form like you know it is capable of doing, but instead simply pacing a single paw upon your chest. There's not much force behind the action, but you know that if the wolf wished to do so, it could crush your entire rib cage by simply pressing down, you know that this beast has a level of physical strength eclipsing that of a Servant!

You smile up at the wolf towering over you. "Well, that was fun. Where's Touko by the way?" Lugh isn't about to kill you, you think. He's not really the sort of person to kill just for the sake of killing, especially not if he's here at Touko's request. At least you hope not. The idea of misreading the situation pops up in your mind before you dismiss it.

The wolf doesn't seem like it was expecting that sort of response, and it hesitates for a moment before a haze of magic obscures your view for a moment. You feel the tremendous weight of the wolf's strength lifted off your chest and in place of it is a boy that appears no more than 12 years old. "Aw, I was hoping that Touko didn't tell you about me. Though with how often she talks about you whenever I meet her, I suppose I shouldn't have been too surprised that she'd tell her star apprentice about me." Lugh sounds disappointed at you figuring out who he was. In truth, you actually were told about Lugh by Touko, but not really at any great length. To the point where you were able to momentarily forget the existence of the ancient being pouting before you. "She said that you were a wielder of a power with truly incredible mystery, so I'm a little surprised that you didn't try using it on me." Did Lugh... want you to use your Truth manipulation on him? The boy then smiles. "Or were you just afraid of using it to hurt your teacher's old familiar?" You honestly don't know what might have happened had you tried to use your magical abilities, the fight may have ended up taking a more lethal turn, and while you can regenerate from wounds, you truly doubt you'd survive a serious battle with Lugh, at least right now. Not to mention the fact that Lugh is right, you don't really want to use the full extent of your abilities against somebody who isn't truly an enemy. Call it a mental inhibition.

You get up as you decide just how to word your response. Beings like Lugh are possibly even more fickle than the gods themselves. "I guess so. If you really want to see my power, I can show you a little later on." Lugh's eyes light up a little upon you saying that. Seems that he really wants to see your power for some reason. You can probably blame Touko for getting an Incarnated Elemental excited about the prospect of fighting you. "But we're getting a little distracted here, we already know each other's names, but I feel like it would only be polite if we properly introduced ourselves. You dust yourself off with your right hand, finally healed up. You offer a hand to the boy standing in front of you. "I'm Shinji Makiri, it's a pleasure to meet you, Lugh Beowulf." There's practically no danger anymore, unless you manage to somehow offend the boy, that is.

The boy decides to take the proffered hand and shakes it. "Likewise. I feel just a little bit bad about not noticing your injuries before attacking, it's really no fun to just fight somebody when they aren't at their best. Do you think you would've done better if you were fully healed up?" There's simple curiosity in his voice as he asks that.

You scratch the back of your head as you laugh nervously. "Hehe, maybe? Who can say? It's obvious that I can't beat somebody like you with my martial arts alone though." Not unless you managed to surpass Kuzuki in skill overnight, and that's obviously not going to happen any time soon. You might be one of the best martial artists alive on the planet right now, but even the level of skill you possess isn't even close to being able to fight against beings above humanity through prowess alone.

"Maybe I'll have to fight you again some time then... I won't have to hold back nearly as much if you promise to use your full power against me, right?" The childish smile he has on his face disguises the true danger of the statement. As he's the same sort of being as Arcueid, Lugh's full power, though not nearly as great as the power of Arcueid at one hundred percent, is truly terrifying. Even True Magic isn't a certain way to achieve victory against him.

"Uh... right." You feel like accepting the offer to fight some time in the future is one of ridiculous danger, but denying the gold haired boy the right to a rematch with you would be an even more foolish prospect, offending somebody who could hit you with enough force to reduce your body to a red and pink slime really isn't something you want to do. "You never did tell me where Touko was."

"Oh right, she sent me to this forest to go fetch you and your friends. Tells me that she wants you to accompany her on a vampire hunt." He seems rather chipper about the idea. "One of the the Elder title Dead Apostle Ancestors too!" You feel a shiver run down your spine, that means that a vampire from the Age of Gods! But what are they doing here in Fuyuki? "She's back at your house now, preparing some sort of countermeasure to his abilities. It's not often I hear Touko talk about being overwhelmed without even being given a chance to escape."

So, looks like Touko got your message after all, and she's already back at your home? This is excellent news indeed, but you are going to need to find your allies before you return. You then have a sudden realization! You can simply call them to find them! You grab your phone from one of your pockets, and are glad for the rugged design of mobiles before the dawn of smartphones. Then you immediately see that you don't have any service in the middle of the forest. Looks like you're going to have to try finding them the old fashioned way.

You hesitate. Are you... really about to ask this? Well, Lugh seems to at least be somewhat interested in you, so what harm can come of simply asking the boy for a favor like this? "Excuse me, Lugh?" You feel just a smidge uncomfortable around the boy, knowing that he could crush you with ease if he wanted to.

"You can call me Beo." The boy corrects for you. "After all, I should extend the courtesy I grant to your teacher to you, right?" He shrugs, it seems that he must've somewhat managed to get over the defeat he suffered at the hands of... what was his name? Soujuurou... Shizuki, was it? That fight must've happened almost two decades ago now!

"Ok, Beo... I have... a slight favor I want to ask you." You may as well just come out and say what it is you want.

"A favor...? Well, alright. This is a good way to make myself feel a little better about attacking you when you clearly weren't in the state for it." He sounds a little disappointed with his own actions, and seems to believe that you would've been able to have fought him to a greater degree had you not been injured to start with. Maybe you would've been able to use your skills to a marginally better degree, but without relying on your magic, you doubt you'd even be able to make the current Lugh flinch. Even when you felt a blow connect on him, his body simply adapted to the damage. Of course, with the fact that he's immune to all magecraft of lower mystery than himself, you don't even know if Truth could function on him. Then again, can you really call the manipulation of Truth a form of magecraft? It's something that no other magus on the planet could ever hope to replicate without sharing your Element, which as far as you can understand, is truly unique and unable to be copied by any being native to this world... or perhaps even native to this entire universe!

"Well, I was wondering if I could perhaps maybe uh... ride on your back? It would let us reunite with my allies far faster, right?" You really hope this doesn't offend him. You wouldn't be able to stop him should he decide that you were too irritating and simply squashed you. Of course, he's not really acted like the sort of person who would do that anyway.

"Really, that's all you wanted to ask?" Lugh thankfully doesn't sound offended by your request. "It's a little odd, as far as requests go and most people would probably be too scared to actually think about it, but..." Lugh's body once again is surrounded by a haze of magical energy as his form shifts to a golden wolf once more, though this time the wolf he transforms into isn't merely the size of a small bear, instead, he transforms into a great golden behemoth of a wolf that would be more apt in size comparison to a truck than a mere bear.

Lugh in this form, apparently rendered incapable of human speech, uses his head to beckon you to climb atop his back. You quickly oblige him before he decides to change his mind, and, after a few seconds of sniffing at the air, the colossal wolf quickly charges off! You hang on for dear life as Lugh gleefully rampages through the forest, slashing apart centuries old trees with ease as he does, Lugh must be moving at least a few hundreds of kilometers an hour! He might even be faster than Rider's Pegasus, and he's not even really giving it his all! Is this the difference that exists between a Phantasmal Beast like Pegasus and one of the highest level of power and mystery like Lugh?

You definitely would have slipped right off the back of the golden beast had he not been making a genuine effort to keep you atop him. You doubt even Rider would have the ability to ride Lugh should he wish to dismount his Rider. In fact, he is probably even more difficult to ride than a genuine dragon!

It only takes a few minutes until you find yourself in a clearing with all of your allies staring at the arrival of the colossal beast in alarm. Even Avenger is apparently startled by the path of destruction Lugh so gleefully cut right through the forest in order to reach your allies. He has a somewhat shorter blade drawn, though you're too dazed to really get a good look at it before falling off the back of the large golden wolf and being forced to gaze up at the sky.

You can vaguely hear the worried voices of your allies as you slump to the ground, your clothes are actually in quite the poor state right now, what with all the holes and tears your escapades have managed to earn your really quite expensive outfit. Maybe you should just start wearing armor?

There's something of a standstill as your allies clearly don't know what to make of the appearance of the great golden wolf carrying the de-facto leader of the group, and you can vaguely hear them talking among themselves as the blood begins to flow properly in your body.

"Look, Tohsaka... I don't think that things a Servant. Nobody can feel the presence of a Servant on it, not even Saber or Avenger!" You hear Shirou's pleading voice trying to convince Rin not to do anything stupid. If she attacked Lugh, then she almost certainly wouldn't survive. She'd probably have more luck trying to face the Berserker of the original Fifth Grail War alone than she would have fighting Lugh.

"That's probably because it's clearly a Phantasmal Beast summoned through a Servant's Noble Phantasm! We can't just do nothing! We have the opportunity to do something here! We have it outnumbered three... two to one!" Rin corrects herself. Looks like Betty really has fallen asleep on you. How annoying.

"This beast does not seem to be acting with hostility towards us." You hear Saber's calm observation. "If it is the work of another Servant, I believe that we ought to give them the opportunity to reveal themselves. Besides, they clearly don't mean us harm, otherwise they would not have returned Shinji here to us."

"Hrmph, maybe you're right, Saber, but I don't trust this thing. As a magus, it's really giving me the creeps, isn't anyone else getting that?" Illya murmurs in agreement with Rin, but neither Sakura nor Shirou seem to agree with her assessment of the situation. Avenger just stands with his weapon at the ready, prepared to make a move should he be required to. As is true of Saber, who despite her disarming words, is clearly ready for an attack to come at any moment! You briefly wonder where Tamamo is right now. Looks like you managed to escape after all! What a relief... you're sure this peace isn't going to last.

Your allies seem to pause for a moment as you get to your feet, clearly expecting an explanation for what exactly you've been up to.

You look at each of your allies as you decide you may as well just tell the truth about what happened between yourself and Tamamo. After all, it can hardly be called your fault that she's such a damn nutcase that she wanted to marry you within moments of meeting you, right? Maybe Monica was right about what she told you way back...

"Ok so this is gonna sound a little bit strange, but I'll just give you a brief rundown. First, I went into the Castle by myself, not wanting to put Illya in danger. Then as I was exploring, I found myself succumbing to a curse of sleep that caused me to lose consciousness." It's annoying that you were unable to avoid falling victim to a simple curse, but there's nothing to be done about it now.

"I knew that goddess wasn't to be trusted." Avenger crosses his arms, an expression that could only be called irritated vindication on his face. Perhaps his loathing of the gods is somewhat justified after all. Though you can't say you hate Tamamo for how she's acting. You just... don't know if it's a good idea to accept the love of a goddess when it would certainly lead to your own destructive end. Regardless of that, you barely even know Tamamo outside of what you've read of her!

"Right... but it doesn't end there. After a brief conversation while I was tied to a chair, Second Caster... the goddess, that is... she uhm... well she kind of..." Your eyes darting back and forth between both Illya and Sakura. "Well she uh..." You find yourself really struggling to speak the next few words.

Sakura clenches her fists in anger as an uncharacteristically angry expression appears on her face. "What is it, Onii-chan? What did this... woman do?" Sakura seems to catch herself at the end of her sentence, sounds like she was going to say something a little more aggressive than 'woman'.

You sigh. There's no real easy way to say this but "Well then she decided that I was to marry her and that we were officially engaged." The entire forest seems to go so silent that you could hear a pin drop, the faces of everyone around you displaying their clear confusion, even Lugh tilts his head at you. The only one who doesn't look confused by your words is Avenger, and that's because he's too busy scowling.

""What."" Illya and Sakura say in unison. You knew something like this was going to happen.

"I... I never agreed to anything like that! She simply asked me if I would adopt a fox she would be unable to look after if she fell in battle, and I basically told her maybe! I... I never agreed! She just decided to ignore what I said in favor of hearing what she wanted to hear!" You try to talk your way out of things. "I then had no choice but to flee, so I had my Kaleidostar try to get me out of there!" You quickly try to change the subject by getting back to the matter at hand.

You can hear your Kaleidostar nervously humming as you bring it up, and you frown as you grab a hold of the star shaped emblem pretending to be a badge. "Uhm... Master? Did I say that I was really sorry about what happened with the uhm... warp? I've properly calibrated myself now, and I can confirm that no such accidents will occur should you require a short-range warp once again..."

"You dropped me into the forest from like twenty kilometers in the air! I could've died you know!?" You can't help but yell at the apparently useless star as it droops slowly to the ground the wings of the star wilted and sad looking. You frown at Rin when you notice her smirking at you. Laugh it up while you can, Rin! "Anyway, moving on. After I survived my escape from the Castle, I found myself stranded in the deep forest, and with Betty asleep..."You gesture a hand at the girl asleep on one of the car seats. You wonder if she fell asleep there or if one of the others decided to move her. "I was quite unable to get into contact with any of you through her."

"Ah yes, we did try to wake her, but she was quite impossible to stir." She looks somewhat apologetic as she explains what happened to you. "In the end, I simply decided it would be more prudent to allow your Servant to rest in comfort than on the floor of the forest." Oh? So it was Saber who did it? Funny, you were certain it would've been Shirou.

You decide to continue with your story after Saber finishes her brief interjection "Anyway, I ended up coming across my uh... well I want to say friend, but I'm not quite sure where we stand right now. All I can really say is that he gave me his assistance and I am truly grateful to him for that. Why don't you introduce yourself?"

To your surprise, Lugh once again shifts into his human form, though there's a key difference to him this time. Namely, the fluffy golden tail he now sports as well as the dog-like ears sprouting from his head. What on earth is he playing at? "N-nice to meet you everyone, my name is... My name is Fenri. I'm a wolf spirit, but I'm not really from this country..." Lugh bows rather awkwardly as he plays pretend. "It's nice to meet you!"

"What did I tell you, Tohsaka." Shirou has a goofy smile on his face. "I told you he wasn't dangerous." Looks like he feels kind of bad about his deception, but you can understand it. Looks like everyone is going to be in the car again, but with two more people with you, this might get at little bit... complicated. While you could probably wake up Betty if you wanted to, you don't really want to be cruel to the girl and awaken her from such a peaceful slumber. "Alright everyone, this might get a little cramped. Saber, you're driving again. Illya, would you mind sitting on Shirou's lap? Betty can't take a spiritual form while she's asleep so she'll be sitting on my lap." That leaves only one person... Where is Lugh going to sit...? Hmm...

"So are we... taking the wolf spirit with us then?" Rin looks at Lugh with an inquisitive eye, clearly still not sure whether or not she trusts the admittedly adorable looking wolf boy, his ears twitch slightly when he hears himself mentioned.

"Ah! Rin, thank you for volunteering! Fenri, you'll be sitting on Rin's lap. Don't worry, she might look like she's heartless and cold, but she's actually a surprisingly kind and gentle person underneath her icy cold magus exterior." You smirk at Rin as you taunt her. "She's just really really good at hiding it sometimes." You give an incredibly exaggerated shrug as you trash talk Rin for your own entertainment. Of course, the words are actually true. Rin is a caring person, it's just hard not to get mad at somebody for talking about you like you're some sort of ice queen.

"Shinji you son of a bitch!" Seems that might have been a little too far, and in the blink of an eye, you find a barrage of six Gandr shots being blasted directly at your chest, they aren't of a variety that would do more than give you a bad case of the cold should they hit you though. Of course, in response you simply hold out a hand and begin chanting...

"Deny. Deny. Deny. Deny. Deny. Deny." The Gandr shots fizzle out in the air before they ever even reach you, it's kind of a pathetic display, actually. Rin's rate of fire is pretty impressive, but she's going to have to do better than that to get you! "Wow Rin, and I was complimenting you as well! That wasn't very nice of you." You're pretty sure that Rin is moments away from unlocking her own version of Madness Enhancement before she is stopped by a tugging on her sleeve, Lugh looking up with her with an innocent face.

"Please don't be mad, miss. I don't like seeing people fight..." The boy lies. But it seems to have the intended effect on the near berserk twin-tailed girl, and the anger seems to escape her utterly as she slumps her shoulders. It... wasn't actually what you had originally intended, but Lugh seems to have capitalized on the opportunity to immediately gain Rin's trust. What a devilishly smart wolf he is. You might have to apologize to Rin later on about what you said to her. Maybe.

"Yes, I believe we ought to follow the guidance of the spirit here." Saber muses. "To have allies fight amongst themselves is a truly saddening thing to see." You feel guilty as Saber speaks in a melancholic tone, jeez, way to kill the mood, Saber. "We should retreat back to our base of operations for the night though. If we aren't to assault this goddess, there is naught to gain by dallying in this place." Saber basically orders everyone to get in the car, and everyone is quick to oblige her orders.

You end up patting Betty's sleeping head while you drive, and Illya herself doesn't seem entirely content with her position anymore, and despite the presence of Betty on your lap, she still tries to wedge herself between you and Shirou. It's a tremendously awkward display. Sakura has a sinister looking smirk on her face for the entire trip home, and you kind of dread to imagine why.

Of course, the most amusing display is Lugh on Rin's lap. The wolf-like boy clearly not at all comfortable with the interior of a vehicle, and seems to move about the front passenger seat like one might expect a dog would. You can tell that Rin is trying to keep her patience with the actions of the wolf boy, and she probably understands that this is Lugh's first time inside a car as well. While you recall something about him riding aboard a train once, and also a boat, by the way he's acting, it's obvious that driving in a car is an entirely new sensation for him.

All the amusement ceases the moment that Saber slams on the brakes. Standing in the middle of the road is the unmistakable presence of a Servant. Clad in heavy looking horned armor with red accents and wielding a greatsword in a single hand. "Come out and fight me, Saber!" Your mind struggles to recall just who this Servant is, but you... you know you know! Hold on a second! It's her Noble Phantasm! Her Noble Phantasm seals her identity! Then there's only one person this could be! Still, despite properly figuring out just who this fully armored Saber that seems to have some sort of grudge against King Arthur, you can't actually see anything about the Servant herself. You probably ought to work on a countermeasure for it... you wonder if reciting a few lines of your aria would break the effect? Probably not.

"Shut up, Rin." Your retort is a basic one, but it gets the message across as you leave the car.

You walk towards the Armored Servant with your hands clearly visible. Obviously unarmed, even... You strain to force out the name of the Saber in front of you... Mordred... shouldn't want to cut down an unarmed opponent who clearly wishes to converse. What sort of a knight would she be if she did that? Well, a bad one, obviously. But you're hoping that with Saber here, Mordred won't just execute you heartlessly. Not a good look in front of her father... mother... you know what? You don't care. You're just going to settle for 'parent'.

"Second Saber!" You call out.

"Second?" The red clad knight mutters, annoyed. Maybe not the best choice of words. "Why am I Second Saber? Do you know when I was summoned, you blue haired runt?"

You frown. "Call it an educated guess. You wanna hear another educated guess?" You smirk at the helmeted girl before you. You aren't intimidated by Mordred in the slightest. Pretty hard to be intimidated by a complete idiot with more brain issues than a psychology magazine.

"Go ahead, before I get tired and remove it." Oh wow, she must've been working on that one for a while. That was almost threatening. Who are you kidding?

You make your next words a whisper, too quiet for your allies to hear back at the car. "I know who you are behind that helmet of yours." The Armored Servant seems to flinch backwards as you say those words. "Oh of course, that helmet might be able to trick even your own... father. But I'm a little more difficult to fool than most, Mordred." She flinches back again, clearly bewildered at her own Noble Phantasm failing her. She's probably wondering just how exactly modern magecraft could so easily see through the Noble Phantasm concealing her identity. How foolish though, to attempt to conceal the truth from the one with control over the very concept of it.

"You... have my attention." Mordred doesn't quite look like she knows what to make of the failure of her Noble Phantasm. Even her own parents wouldn't be able to see through that Noble Phantasm, she knows that, so how the hell could you? It brings you no end of satisfaction knowing you've managed to confuse Mordred. Not that confusing her is that difficult. You probably could've achieved the same ends by asking her to solve basic algebra or add more than three numbers together.

You take another step forwards, closing the distance between you and Mordred to one that could be considered dangerous if you hadn't managed to pretty much stun the Servant into inaction through bewilderment. "Your attention? Good. Because your name isn't the only thing that I know about you." You say with a great amount of satisfaction.

"You don't know anything about me you damn...!" Mordred is floundering. It's probably only that she's so shocked that she hasn't gutted you for getting so close, you can strengthen the bond between a Master and a Servant, so all you need is to keep her distracted for a few seconds after grabbing her and you'll be able to sever her contract and take her as your own Servant!

"Your wish." You cut Mordred off. "What if I could offer you the opportunity to have your wish granted, without even requiring the Holy Grail?" Mordred goes to open her mouth, and you smirk. "The Sword of Selection: Caliburn. Tragically destroyed in your lifetime so you could never use it to prove yourself as a true successor to the throne, tell me I'm wrong." Mordred says nothing. "I happen to know a man capable of perfectly replicating that very sword, every single facet of it's history. Don't you wish to prove yourself to your father, Mordred?" You smile at the helmeted girl, who suddenly seizes up when you approach close enough to touch her. "Rejoice, Saber! For your wish shall be granted!"

Oddly, Mordred tries to back away from you as you reach out a hand to touch her "N-no..." You hear Mordred squeak out in a pained voice as she tries to fight against an invisible force, and before you can make another move, a heavy iron gauntlet smashes into your face and plunges you into darkness.

You wake up. The room is pitch black. You can't see anything, but you can feel that your magical energy has been almost completely drained. You can feel your energy leaving your body, but it seems that the rate of your own recovery now that you've regained consciousness is able to slightly overwhelm the drain! Amethyst is missing... again. Wow, taken prisoner twice in one night! Even Shirou never managed to do this!

With your magical energy slowly recovering, you bet that you can surprise whoever the one responsible for putting you in this room! After all, there are almost no human magi that can compete with you even when you're weakened like you are! Something is gnawing at the back of your mind though, a realization you feel like you should've already made. Mordred's Master... just who are they? More importantly, how could the Servants just let you get kidnapped right in front of them? What exactly were Saber and Avenger doing? Both of them should've been able to catch Mordred if they chased her, right?

For some reason, your connection to Betty feels almost non-existent, it's strange, it doesn't just feel like there's something blocking it, it also feels like there's a great distance between yourself and your Servant. Could a Command Spell even function in a setting like this? You don't think you'll have to find out and potentially waste one, thankfully. You could always use one of your command spells to recharge your magical energy too, but you feel like such an explosion of magical energy would quickly ruin your attempt of deception. Of course, you could always use one when you've actually found yourself in the room with this Master of Saber...

Time passes in silence. Ten minutes. Thirty minutes. An hour. Is anybody even going to come? Or have you simply been imprisoned and left to rot. By the time you've been waiting in the darkness for about two hours and thirty minutes, you're about to change your mind about waiting about. While your magical recovery is doing alright, you're still at only about 5 percent of your magical energy.

Finally though, there is the sound of a lock being undone, and you suddenly steel yourself for the enemy Master. With any luck, Mordred won't try to intervene on her Master's behalf this time. She was clearly trying to fight against the command spell so tensions between the two would have to be immensely high right now.

The door opens, and the dim light of a cheap bulb on the outside of your prison floods into the room, revealing the door of your cell and the walls to be coated in thousands of stains of red. Dried blood covering every surface of the room. Of course, the realization of just what sort of room you've been sitting in pales in comparison to the person who walks through the door.

Red eyes, black hair, an adorable face that hasn't aged a day since you last saw her. Altrouge Brunestud has come to fulfill the promise she made to you. You back away a step from the door. You realize at that moment just how hopeless your situation has become, as a top ranked Dead Apostle Ancestor, Altrouge is far more powerful than your average Servant.

"It's been so long since I last saw you, and my, just look how you've developed." The girl licks her lips as she approaches you, and you back up against a wall. "I hear it was quite difficult having you spirited away from that dreadful city with all those heroes parading about, but of course, my black knight can never fail." Altrouge leans in close and whispers into your ear. "Are you ready?"

You go to punch Altrouge in an act of desperation, but as you even think about moving your arm to punch her, she seizes it with her hand, before caressing your face with the other. "I don't want this." Is all you say, a last plea to the better nature of somebody who probably doesn't even have a 'better nature'.

Of course, Altrouge pays you no mind, and not a moment later you can feel her small fangs pierce right into your neck. There's pain, of course, but oddly, the sensation of your encroaching death and subsequent reanimation doesn't bring you fear. Just... inevitability. Would... serving this girl really be that bad?

Your lifeless body hits the floor, the command spells on your hand fizzling away, and Altrouge lets out a satisfied noise. The effects of the magical contract she was etching upon you even while drinking immediately making themselves visible, as the lifeless body on the floor begins to rapidly convulse and twist in every which way.

Seconds later, your body rises from the floor. The long process of transforming into a Dead Apostle having been subverted entirely thanks to the magic of the Master of Blood and Contract, the Shinji Makiri who once existed is buried deep within your mind. An unimportant personality, even now, he'd probably be trying to reverse the process of becoming a Dead Apostle, but you're not like him, his weakness got him transformed into you, why would you want to go back to that? You look up at Altrouge before deeply bowing to your new master. "I look forward to serving you, my mistress."

Altrouge smiles, deeply satisfied. This is her complete victory.

There's a notice board on the wall of the dojo, but nobody else is around. You read the notice instead. 'Unfortunately, the Dojo is closed for the night. Please come back during the daytime for more advice on how to avoid being turned into a bloodsucking vampire.' Hmmph. Rude. You look down at your hands for a moment, and realize that your nails are sharpened to the point they could rend flesh, and you find yourself with a... terrible thirst. Damn it! Even in the Tiger Dojo? At least you've not had your personality overwritten.

You spot a sticky note just below the notice, and you read it. It's in your own handwriting! 'Hey, dumbass. Try running next time, maybe?' Wow, very helpful. You hadn't figured out that staying inside the building was a terrible idea all by yourself. You end up giving yourself a Tiger Stamp, you really hope this vampire gag won't carry over to the next Tiger Dojo. Hold on, next? You never want to come here again!

The door! You need to find the door to get out of this damn cell! You have no intention of sticking around to try to fight the Master of Saber! You finally make the connection that you've been subconsciously avoiding! Mordred's Master is Rizo-Waal Strout! You couldn't beat somebody like that alone even if you were at the peak of your form! You need to get out, and you think you know just the method to do so.

There's something about this room that is draining your magical energy, probably to prevent you from making an escape or even trying to contact your Servant! You make your mind up and begin fumbling around in the darkness to look for the door of the room. It doesn't take long, though the walls are... oddly sticky to the touch. The door is a cold metal behemoth, created to not allow any light to pass into the room you find yourself a prisoner in. However, there aren't any magical protections upon the door itself. Clearly, this room wasn't designed to hold a magus of your caliber within its bounds.

You gather up what little magical energy you can manage from your drained circuits, and you imagine the structure of the door in your head. While for a mundane lockpick, this door would take an incredibly long time to get open, you can skip such things. You focus your small reserve of magical energy into the bolt holding the door locked, and with a snapping sound and a great screeching of metal, you know that you've been met with success. You pull the door open, only to be met with the frowning face of a certain knight. You freeze in your tracks, but Mordred doesn't move an inch. Her helmet is off now, and she really does look just like Arturia.

You take a tentative step forwards, and Mordred still doesn't do anything, instead she just yawns as she lazily eyes you. "Uh... Mordred? Aren't you... going to do anything to stop me?" Not that you want to be stopped, but this is just too peculiar.

"Huh? Nah. I was told not to let you out of that cell and to prevent any of your allies from freeing you should they have followed all this way. Far as I can tell, you got out all by yourself, right?" Mordred stretches. "The way out is down this corridor, up the stairs and then left." Mordred tells you the way out with a slight smirk on her face. "I'd suggest you don't fuck around though, my bastard Master should be back any minute now." Mordred appears to be in open rebellion to the wishes of her Master. How very fitting.

"Uh... right." You smile at the Knight before you take off running. "Thanks, Mordred! I owe you one!" You call back to the surprisngly helpful Servant, and you see her smiling for a moment before she catches herself and returns to an impassive frown.

True to Mordred's words, you find your freedom through following her directions. You really wish that you could've made her your Servant, but there's simply too much risk to do that right now. You don't have any magical energy left and while you suppose you could've used up two more of your command spells, you don't want to risk the wrath of Mordred's Master. Rizo-Waal Strout could probably kill both you and Mordred with little effort. You still need to pay the bastard back for hurting Monica, but that can wait for your reunion with your allies. Of course, you weren't expecting it to already be daytime!

As you look about the street to try to gauge just where in Fuyuki you've ended up, your heart almost leaps into your throat. No way... this... this isn't Fuyuki at all. No. You know this place... But why the hell are you in Misaki Town?! Damn it! You need to get back to Fuyuki!

You read a sign quickly to find the nearest train station and begin sprinting as fast as you can without reinforcing your body. You can't risk letting normal people see you exceeding human capabilities. Damn it! Damn it! Damn it! Are your allies alright? Come on! Where the hell is Amethyst?! You at least find the Noble Phantasm bracelet still in your pocket. Seems like they weren't quite as thorough as Tamamo was in stripping you of your magical equipment.

Dashing through the streets of Misaki town, you end up too distracted to notice where exactly you're going, and slam directly into somebody. This... feels familiar. You end up toppling to the floor and take the thick sweater wearing woman with you, red eyes looking up at you in confusion for a moment before you leap off of the person you just managed to somehow run straight into in an emotion approaching terror. Why the hell is she here?! No way! It's just your eyes playing tricks on you is all!

The woman rises to her feet a few seconds after you do, and you begin to give her a clumsy apology. "My apologies, miss. I'm in something of a hurry right now, you're not injured, are you?" Your brain is trying to process the situation, and you can just tell that the moment you get a good look at the woman her identity is going to be made certain.

"Of course not. Bu-" The woman never gets to finish her sentence, as in the blink of an eye, she's cut to pieces by a boy wearing a navy blue school uniform. 17 pieces. No. No no no. You can't be dealing with this right now! How the hell did this end up happening?! Everything is all sorts of messed up! Shiki Tohno, the boy responsible for this apparent murder, looks at the knife in his hand and the severed body parts of Arcueid Brunestud lying at his feet, then he looks to you, his face white with panic.

Somehow, you've not only found yourself in Misaki Town, but you've done so just in time for the events of Tsukihime to take place! Shiki is looking at you and then the body parts on the floor, clearly, he wants to run, but the presence of somebody else at the scene of his terrible crime has caused him to completely freeze up. You really weren't expecting to have to get involved in this before the grail war was over.

This quest was already overloaded with characters but now you decided to put a dozen more in on top of adding a secondary plotline.

On the contrary, this is the only way that Tsukihime can possibly work while maintaining any kind of plot.
Should the events of Tsukihime occur after the grail war, you'd have way too much personal power in the form of Servants for anything to be a threat to you.
Of course, even now it's possible for you basically clear Tsukihime in perhaps a day or two.

Yeah. The war back at home seemed pretty stagnant since Manaka and Alan, while powerful enemies are threats that seemed to be set on being very passive, but I was expecting and looking forward to someone else trying to make money moves. Maybe that Assassin that killed us near the start of the war, or the priestess and Ibaraki. There's been a lack of enemies coming after us, and I was under the impression that this was intentional and that someone would start coming after us sooner or later. The idea of them doing so while Shinji is away is something I'm very worried about, but the promise that literally nothing would happen in the two days it would take for Shinji to speedrun Tsukihime and come back would annoy me personally just as much.

Second Saber showing up to fuck shit up was the type of thing I was waiting to happen, but it was so easily defused I'm not sure I can really count it. And of course, that then leads to the current situation we're in now.
I don't know. Maybe I would have wanted the servants guarding Manaka to put up more of a fight, or for there to be another servant battle or two before we totally switch settings.

Well, when it works wonderfully almost every other time you can't really expect much different. Charisma is one of Shinji's main stats of course people will try to be reasonable to start with, we aren't a pack of murderhobos! Once diplo fails, however. I'd think it should lead to some sort of battle where we're at a disadvantage instead of us just instantly failing the situation.
Shinji is a smooth talker, expecting him not to start with that and punishing us for it seems kinda shitty imo.

You see, this is where you would be right if you didn't keep wandering directly up to beings who can insta-kill/knock you out the moment that negotiations break down.
The solution I'm trying to give you is to try to have a Servant by your side in the future.
Of course, that's not all that easy either seeing as your only reliable Servant is currently not available because you wanted to save the loli instead.

That's fair.
To be honest we should have learned this lesson several times over and I said as much when it first happened.
Mind you, there wasn't really an option for us to walk up with a servant instead of just going on our own. It was either ask questions we already know the answer to, send Avenger after them or send Sakura after them.
I'll make sure to avoid any further traps with a well made write in for now on.

Also remember they were actively corrupting Avenger, while they promised to put the others on ice rather than fuck with them.
