Wealth, fame, power. Gold Roger the king of the pirates obtained this and everything else the world had to offer. And his dying words drove countless souls to the seas.
"You want my treasure? You can have it! I left everything I gathered together in one place. Now you just have to find it!"
While you may not have found the fabled treasure One Piece just yet, you got something almost as good. CRABS. Through many headaches you managed to secure your new "cannonballs" in the lowermost part of the hold. They are a rowdy little bunch and it took some careful training to make them comfortable just sitting down there. You even bought each of them individual cages so they could sleep in them. And in those couple days when you were herding bugs things moved along nicely in the town. Naturally things weren't going smoothly at first with people naturally hating the other party. But once they got over their mutual disdain for each other they realized they may have something to talk about afterwards. The benefits of having the Scourge around were not immediately apparent but it didn't take much for the scientists of the city to realize their potential.

Now it's starting to look like that the two sides will come to an agreement of sorts, if the news are to be believed. With the Wind Riders offering to hunt down and catch more of the scourge for the city so they could use them in some sort of a new power plant, in exchange for removing all the windmills and obtrusive machinery plaguing their lands. However neither side is lacking in people too caught up in their old rivalries and you can hear many disgruntled talks in the local places like the pubs. Apparently they don't like working together with those "stinky barbarians". And most likely there are people on the other side as well.

In the end you decided to-

-beat some people up!

As the negotiations happened anyone that got any funny ideas quickly found themselves in a dark corner surrounded by very angry pirates, regardless if they were wind riders or outsiders. And while this did not initially yield any results, after the sixth or seventh guy who talked about starting trouble was found eating through a straw people started to get the idea and things proceeded smoothly. The agreement has been made and it looked like things were improving. While first only a few of the crabs were traded the need for them quickly grew so the occasional and much hated trade caravans became quite popular and started dealing in more than just the crustaceans. In exchange the wind riders got more from the trades, such as advanced pieces of technology to help their mobile settlements.

Even the Scourge, which were quickly dubbed Cannonbugs by city dwellers became popular. It became obvious that they have far more uses beyond sticking them in a hamster wheel and watch them generate near unlimited amounts of energy. They became coveted for their tasty meat and their hard shells. But strangest of all is that some children took a liking to them as they were quite useful in various ball games AND made excellent pets. Indeed by the time your pose set you could see people leading cannonbugs on leashes or carry them on their shoulders. So while things are still not entirely positive as there is still quite a bit of hostility between the more volatile elements, at least the general populace is starting to warm up to the idea of cooperation with the other side. And that brings you to the matter at hand, leaving. With the log pose set for its new destination you are all ready to depart in search of new adventure. But not before saying goodbye. Making your way up to the Sunflower House alone you are greeted by Mother Ann who's currently putting out the laundry to dry.

"Ah Silver! Good morning!"

"Hello."

"You guys are leaving today, are you not? My how the time passes."

"Yeap. Is Will around? Or is he playing with his friends?"

"No. He's sulking in his room all alone. He's a little confused about, well, everything. But I'll be sure to sit down with him and have a talk. He'll come around."

"Ah. He still doesn't like the Towel guys. And the other kids?"

"Oh, them? Funny you should mention that. Some of the wind riders came. The ones who lost their children in all this stupid warring. They asked me if it would be possible for them to adopt some of the children. I said sure, but only if both halves agree. They are currently getting to know the kids. Naturally William refused. Anyway, if you want to you can talk with him in his room. I'm sure he'd want to say goodbye."

"Okay!"
You don't waste much time and go inside. After knocking on the door to the childrens room you hear a "GO AWAY" from inside. So you kick down the door.
"Yo!"

"S-Silver? What do you want?"

I... I feel conflicted. I kinda want him with us, but he feels too much like a liability.

But I would like Ann to come with us.

I kind of assume that's not possible without Will? If not, then I'll change my vote to
>Hey kid wanna be a pirate?
>>
>>4599952
Yeah. You can take Will without Ann but not the reverse
>writing
>>
You rush up to Will and get so up in his face your eyeballs are practically touching each other. As the boy tries to crawl away he hits a wall and finds himself stuck with you. With a massive grin you finally ask him the question you wanted to ask for a while now.
"Hey Will! We're leaving now! Wanna come with?"

"E-Eh? What?"

"Come on! It'll be fun! We can be pirates! PIRATES!"

"N-No but I'm just a kid! I'm not strong enough! And I sometimes wet the bed!"

"Naaaaah! Forget about it! You'll learn! Come on! ADVENTURE! The Sea!"

"NO! I don't wanna!"

"Ah nonsense! Come on!"

You grab him by the arm and start dragging him out the door. The only reason you stop is because you realize he hasn't packed anything so you grab some random pieces of clothing and toss them on him while also grabbing a sauce pan and put it on his head. As you leave through the front door he howls like a banshee and starts crying. Ann notices this and rushes up to you to see what's wrong.
"W-Will? What happened? Are you hurt? Do you need something?"

"Nah! He's just a little nervous! He'll get better once at sea!"

"AT SEA?!"

"Yeah. He's my buddy! And I'll make him a pirate!"

"Just wait Silver! You can't do that! He's just a kid!"

"So? I wanted to be a pirate when I was a kid. I would've loved to sail when I was his age! Come on! Look how happy he is!"

"SAVE MEEEEEEHEEEEHEEEE!"

Ann nervously looks around and crosses her arms in a last ditch effort.
"I won't allow that! I may be a sham but I'm still the matron of this orphanage! As such William is under my protection! I can't let you drag him off against his will!"

You let go of the boy and sit down on the ground, scratching your head.
"Well that's a pickle. I guess you're right."
But it feels like a lightbulb turned on in your head and you smash your fist into your palm in realization.
"I know! I'll just adopt him! That's how that works right?"

"W-What?"
Wills crying stops.

"Hmmm? Am I wrong? Don't really know how it works, just guessing. You go into an orphanage and adopt a kid if you want one right?"

"You want me? You really want me? You want to be my family?"

"What are you stupid?"
You snap at him.
"That was the plan from the start! That's what crewmembers are! Family!"

Snot begins to drip from Wills nose as he's sniffling and trying to suppress his tears. But unfortunately for him he's a big wimp and starts crying and pulls the pan over his eyes. His crying gets a bit annoying so you turn away from him and start trying to come up with a solution to the problem. But it appears that this is entirely pointless as Ann breaks just as easily. She begins quickly wiping her eyes with her hands as she realizes she has no right to stop this from happening.
"F-Fine! But listen to me Silver! You will keep him safe you hear? Being a parent is a big responsibility! And if you fail him even once I'll cross the Grand Line myself to remind you! GOT IT?!"

Hey Spooky, random question, if the Cannonbugs are like how they are due to ingesting sea stone to the point ingesting it would cause a sea kidney stone eventually, then could someone covered in their blood hit a Logia due to the sea stone in it?

"What are you talking about? You're coming with obviously!"

"WHAT?"
"WHAT?"

You grab Ann by the waist and throw her on your shoulder while tucking Will under your other arm and start walking towards the docks as the two of them try their best to resist you by beating on your back and chest respectively.
"You really ARE crazy Silver! Put me down THIS INSTANCE!"

"No! I want you on my crew! Who do you think I am? I don't know how to raise KIDS! Not in this economy! So you'll help me!"
As you stroll through town the various citizens just watch and wave at you as you carry two people who clearly don't want to come with you. Some of them even laugh and encourage you to keep going and take them away. What a nice bunch of people! "Hey Silver! Heading out?"

"Yeap!"

"And you took Mother Ann? Niiiiice!"

"Yeap! I'm kidnapping them! BYE!"

As you get closer to the Dauntless Ann keeps protesting and screaming so that someone, anyone will come and help her.
"SAVE ME! SOMEONE! I DO NOT CONSENT TO THIS!"

You toss her in the air a little to make her shut up.
"Come on quit being a big baby! It'll be fun! You won't be alone anymore."

"Huh?"

"The other kids will be adopted and now Will is gone. You'll be alone again. So this way you can be with us! You wanted to be like a pirate as well right? That's why you don't turn into a spider and just slip out! So shut up and let me kidnap you already! AND LET'S BE CRIMINALS TOGTHER!"

The others see you arriving and help you carry your kidnapees onboard. As you plop down the two crying figures Toxin, Angel and Jaws prepare to set sails while Stitches and Hook go up to Ann and Will. Lyda begins patting Will on the head.
"T-There there. It's okay! I know how you feel. Come. I'll show you around the ship."

Meanwhile Marcella glares at Ann until she finally stops crying and with a sigh helps her stand up.
"A'ight. Guess you're one of us now. Knew I was talking to a brick wall when I tried to convince him otherwise."

Ann composes herself and looks at the pirate she hates so much.
"Will that be a problem?"

"What? You think I'm here because I wanted to be here?!"

Jaws grins as he starts untying the sails.
"That's right. Most of us are here because Silver took a liking to us. But now we're all part of the same crew. Hell, remember how I was fighting against Marcella back on your island? It's all water under the bridge on the ship!"

"Y-You people-"

"KEKEKE! That's right! NOW! Set sails everyone! You'll get to know each other soon enough!"

It will take some time for these two to adjust to their new lives. Will in particular has a very weak stomach and gets very close to getting sick but Lyda, learning from her own experience supplied some nausea medicine to both of them. The others naturally take their fair share out of educating Will and Ann about how things work, read: they do all the explaining while you just laze around. But it will be a long time before they get used to the sea. Ann however is already trying to make herself useful as she comes up to you and after much apologizing she does give you a present, something which you've been wanting for a while now. A hammock!

"WHOOOOA! This for me?"

"Yes. I erm, I thought it'd be appropriate to thank you somehow. I actually dreamt about going out to sea and seeing the world. But I never would've gathered the courage to ask someone to take me away. So... Thank you!"

You pull on the hammock and make it do a loud TWANG.
"Did you make this with your butt?"

BONK
"FOUL MOUTHED BRAT!"

"Heh. I'm actually starting to like the chaste whore now!"
Marcella laughs as Ann continues to beat you over the head.

But as you're being brutalized Will, who went up to the crows nest to experience what the world is like from up there spots something.
"Erm. Everyone! There's smoke over there!"

"Hmmmm?"
You run away from the nun and up the nose of the ship. Sure enough there is black smoke rising from the waves far away.
"Cool! FULL SAIL AHEAD PEOPLE! I want to check that out!"

Your crew gets on that and you sail closer to the source of the black clouds. But immediately they start regretting that as this may have been a mistake. Pieces of driftwood appear on the water with various other refuse. And you start seeing more and more as you keep going. Something big and nasty must've happened here and it must've been very recent. You order the ship to stop as you transform into a bat to scout ahead. You see something which might give you a clue as to what transpired but you just don't see it. Two pieces of wood floating close together. "INE" and "MAR" are written on them. As you settle down on one of them in your small bat form and scratch your head as to what that could mean your acute ears pick up the distinct sounds of someone moaning and coughing up water. You fly over to check out what it is and see a guy in a white uniform holding onto a large piece of driftwood.

"GASP! A drowning chef!"

"I'm... a marine... please... help!"

"Hmmmm."

Marine he says? Well that's no good. But he is in a tight spot and will die if you leave him. Then again he IS your enemy and he would either leave you to die or rescue you just so he could kill you.

"Hmmmmm. Drowning is not good. I drank enough sea water to know that. Okay. I'll help you."

"T-Thank... you... you're a saint. Please. Get help. Quick!"

"Getting."
You fly up a bit higher and transform into a hybrid so you can lift the marine out of the water with your claws. After grabbing him by the shoulder and taking to the air with him you start questioning him about some necessary stuff.
"So how did you guys end up here? You think any of your friends survived?"

"No... It's a miracle I lived... We were attacked. Please. Hurry."

You get back to the Dauntless and the others flock to you once they see you carrying a body. But before they could ask anything you give them some orders. Gu goes and prepares some food for him while Lyda is examining him for any injuries, which he has several of. Broken bones, a punctured lung, sea water in the stomach. The guy is practically half dead already. But with her expertise in operations she manages to fix most of his internal issues and resolves the rest with her devil fruit. This stabilizes him enough that he can eat some hot soup but shortly afterwards he looses consciousness from the exhaustion. Jaws carries him inside and puts him to rest at the infirmary as per your instructions before the crew gathers up to discuss things.

"Well that's just swell! We got a marine on our ship! Oh well. Not like we didn't have one before. Let's just dump him on an island like the rest once he recovers."

"While I agree with Marcella-"
Jaws interjects.
"I think we should worry more about what did all this. Judging by all that garbage floating on the water that must've been one big ship. Or simply a lot of small ships. Whatever did that must've been pretty dangerous."

"Murray is right. We should leave these waters as soon as possible. Do you see it? No blood, no corpses. So much destruction..."

Angel and Jaws seem to be in agreement alongside Stitches who's just a scaredycat who wants to run away. But Ann doesn't seem to share their opinion.
"We should search the water for more survivors. But first let me put William away before he sees something he shouldn't!"

"Leave me I wanna see!"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYOf5DPBX8I

But as you wonder about how to proceed from here you fail to notice Toxin tugging at your shoulder.
"Erm guys?"
He keeps prodding you to try and get ANYONES attention.
"Guys? GUYS!"

You turn around and see that the freakin' SUN is gone! A big shadow looms over you as a ship bigger than any you've ever seen before rides up to you. How the HELL did something that big manage to sneak up on you and remain completely SILENT?! Well however it did and whatever it is, it's something that manages to make even you drop your jaw as the sheer SIZE of that thing is too hard to comprehend. How is it even staying afloat?!

Several shadows even more imposing than that of the ship itself appear looking down on you. One of them speaks up.
"Hey-yoi!"

"AAAAH! IT'S A TALKING PINEAPPLE! AND IT'S RIDING A GIANT WHALE!"

Jaws quickly reaches over to you and clamps your mouth shut with his hand. He gulps nervously as he looks up.
"No Silver! Look! This is-"

"The legendary-"

"The strongest-"

"The unbeatable-"

Jaws, Hook, Toxin and Angel all shout while Lyda and Ann faint from the shock and Will is just staring at these living titans in front of him. And you're stuck there as not even biting manages to get Murray to let you go. So you slip out with a quick little transformation and reversion. But even now that you're freed you can't help but gasp at what's before you. There aren't many things you know off the top of your head but even you know to recognize that symbol. And that there is NOBODY stupid enough to carry it without belonging to that one group.

"WHITEBEARD PIRATES!"
"WHITEBEARD PIRATES!"
"WHITEBEARD PIRATES!"
"WHITEBEARD PIRATES!"

The various figures looking down at you either smile at this or don't even recognize your astonishment. And the one guy that spoke up before keeps shouting down at you.
"Oy-yoi! You guys are pirates? Who's the captain?"

You step up and transform into a bat hybrid. Flying up you float in front of them so you can look them in the eye.
"Me."

"Ah good. I'm Marco, the first division commander of the White Beard Pirates. And you-yoi?"

"Silver, Silver of the Silver pirates."

"Commander, shall we deal with him?"

"No need guys. Just trying to ask a few questions from him. Hey Silver. As you can see we're in a bit of a hurry here. We're looking for a Marine. You don't happen to have seen any-yoi?"

You look around.
"You guys did this?"

"Yeah. They had the bright idea to attack one of our islands. That means we had to remind them why that's a bad idea-yoi. So, seen any Marines lately?"

"Yeah. I've seen him. He's down there. But you can't have him."

"WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?! THAT IDIOT!"
Pretty much everyone below is screaming at you with their arms raised high from the shock.

"Oh really? You're covering for him? Why? And what makes you think that's a good idea-yoi?"

"I found him, he's mine. So no way I'm letting you take what's mine! Besides, he's injured and tired. I rescued him so it'd be a very mean thing to just hand him over like that now!"

"Oy-yoi. You do realize he wouldn't do the same for you right? He's a marine."

"Yeah so?"

"Nothing just checking. And once he recovers, what's your plan with him?"

"Dunno. Drop him off at some island I guess."

"Okay. That's good. Was gonna do the same. Living people can usually send a better message than corpses. They don't really skip out on all the details."

"So you're not mad?"

"No. Not really. Do what you will. But if I can give you a piece of advice it's this. If you see our flag on any island don't cause any trouble. We won't like that."

"Yeah I get that. I'd be quite mad if someone messed with my islands."

"YOUR islands?"

"Mmm-hmm. Got two. Silver Island and Windy-windy Island. But only the moving cities have my flag on the second. So I'll make sure to behave."

"Hah! You're an interesting little guy aren't you? Well tell you what, once you make it past the Red Line and enter big boy territory do look us up! If you want to join the best pirate crew in the world that is!"

Something snaps in you upon hearing that. Even though it's a praise you still feel deeply insulted by it. So after taking a deep breath you shout at full volume, enough to hurt the ears of the Whitebeard Pirates.
"SCREW YOU! I AM THE GREATEST PIRATE IN THE WORLD! NOT YOU!"

You watch as they return to their business and prepare to set sail. Their massive ship turns around quickly and gracefully, leaving your little mighty vessel looking like a crappy little boat as it's both smaller AND somehow slower than their massive floating fortress. They don't really bother to give you any more of their time and leave without another word. You however don't feel like leaving things at that and shout after them with your sonic screams.

"OY! NICE MEETING YOU GUYS! NEXT TIME WE'LL GO DRINKING!"
They barely even look over their shoulders but Marco does give you a flick of his finger. Guess he agrees. You fly down onto your ship and start scratching your head.
"Well that was weird. Anyone else feels like that? Those guys were odd right?"

But rather than agreeing with you they all gang up to strangle the living crap out of you. But as five pair of hands are choking you at the same time you do wonder about something. These guys are the second group of pirates you've encountered that are this monstrous. Three if you count Jimbo as well. What does that mean? Where does that leave you? Simple. In the dust if you don't do something about it. If you aim for the top you'd need to contend with them. You must become stronger, faster, tougher, better. And maybe, just maybe it's not enough to encounter some strong guy and learn as he's beating the crap out of you.
Shit. Who knew this pirate business is so complicated?

That's the end for today folks.
I got to admit this is not how I planned it but at the very least it ended up being a lot safer.
Still it would've been fun to meet the other 2 Yonkos crew but this is fine
I hope you enjoyed this. Next time you'll get your just rewards for helping a guy in need. So look forward to that

After that fateful meeting with one of the most notorious pirate crews on the planet you continue your journey through the seas in search of adventure with a special guest on your ship. His condition is stable according to Stitches yet he hasn't woken up yet. No wonder with all those horses that must be inside him. But it's not like you can afford to dawdle just because you got an injured marine on board. Life continues and so does your voyage. Finally Will and Ann get a taste of real life on the sea, at least a little as Will swiftly gets sent inside anytime bad weather or enemies approach and Ann is about as suited to the lifestyle as Lyda was initially. After a particularly nasty storm you see Ann struggling performing essentially basic duties. She tries her best and wants to be useful but her weakness and strong dislike of her Devil Fruit prevents her from being much help. You sigh and walk over to her as she's trying to pull the sails up, the strong, harsh rope cuts into her palm and rips the skin. Struggling and bleeding all over the rope you take pity on her and with a simple yank pull the rope down all the way.

She nearly collapses and looks at her frail, soft hands almost ready to weep.
"T-Thank you. I feel so useless."

You whistle for Stitches to come over here and your trusty little doctorine comes out of the clinic with her lunchbox and gets to disinfecting and bandaging Anns hand. Meanwhile Jaws strolls through the place and pats the nun on the shoulder.
"Don't sweat it sister. You'll get used to it. Then you'll regret having fishhooks for fingers."

"Thank you Mister Murray. You're too kind."

"Gyogyogyo. Come on stop it! It's only natural. We're crewmates now. We're supposed to help each other."

"Help huh? I'm just... not sure how to go about that. You're all so extraordinary and I'm just a nobody."

"That's not true. Everyone has their own expertise. Look."
>>
Jaws points Ann at the others so she can see what he means. Hagetaka is using spears made out of obsidian tied to the ship with a string of glass fiber to hunt small birds and fish that jump out of the sea, Marcella carefully watches the log pose and writes notes regarding the ships speed and distance traveled, Gu is forcibly shoving food down your throat after you had the galls to call his poison-meat gyoza weird and toss it away and Lyda is just finishing with healing Anns injury. Finally it's becoming clear for her what it means to be a crew. It's about being the lifeblood of the ship and compensating for the weaknesses of others. She finally nods and thanks the doctor for her assistance and Murray for his encouragement. Then she walks up to you and taps Toxin on the shoulder.

"Mister Omukade, correct? I think he learned his lesson."

"Hmmm? Lesson?

"I uh, never mind. Would you mind if I took him off your hands instead?"

"Sure, go ahead."
Gu then lets go of your throat and gets back to distributing the rest of the snacks to the others.

"Phew. Thanks for the save!"

"You're welcome! Say Silver, have you ever erm, had a normal day?"

"What are you talking about? I only have normal days."

"That's not what I meant. Would you like to have some fun with me? Maybe we can play a game with William?"

"Oh boy! I love fun!"

Ann smiles at you and pats your head.
"I'm glad to hear. Come, I got just the thing. William!"

"Coming!"

Will stops looking at the fish jumping out of the water next to the Dauntless and runs up to you. With the little scamp in tow you enter one of the cabins of the ship where Ann took up residence and she takes a large box off a shelf much to Wills enthusiasm. With glittering eyes he watches as she takes the lid off of it. While you too like boxes the boys perversion for it is a bit much even for you.
"What's this?"

"It's my favorite board game! Sora Warrior of the Sea!"

"It's a game made by some companies in the North Blue with the help of the World Economy News Paper. It's very popular amongst the children! It's based on a comic strip. But I assure you it's quite fun even if you don't know the source material! I myself like playing it very much."

"What's a board game?"

"Eh?"
"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEH? You don't know what a board game is?"

"Nope. Is that like poker? Because I know that."

"It's uh- let me explain."

Ann gives you not just a rundown of the rules but what a board game is. She's shocked beyond words about how you couldn't know such a thing. And Will is even more outraged as this sounds like something you just made up even though it's 100% true. Well not like it matters really. Now you know the rules and they are simple enough. You just throw a dice and the board dictates how the game goes with random cards you draw when stepping on certain tiles. Simple. As this is happening and Will continues being amazed about your lack of knowledge Hagetaka checks on you to see what all the fuss is about.
"Oh. You're playing a game? It better be skill based. Because Silver has the devils luck."

"Psh. He doesn't even know the rules! He's a big dummy and I could beat him even with my eyes closed!"

"Now now kids, this isn't about fighting. Let's just have some fun and enjoy ourselves shall we?"

Dominate others in board games
>>
While normally you'd agree with Ann, William just made a big mistake. He dared to question your abilities on your own ship. This can not go on! Therefore you vow to destroy this tiny child without mercy.
"You're on!"

The board is spread out before you and the honor of first roll goes for you. Taking both dice in your hand you throw them with as much conviction as you can muster, your heart and soul now believing in the spleen of the dice. And as it just so happens they both land on the highest number of six. Will immediately jumps up and strikes a goofy pose as he gets hyped.
"Oooooh! Germa 66!"

"Bless you."

"No Silver. You threw two sixes."
Ann points at the dice.
"That's called a German 66. You get to not only move but draw a Germa card as well!"

You draw from the special pile of cards and it has some guy in a weird black costume on it with the number 3 on his cape. And that means you'll get huge bonuses further down the line. Will immediately gets jealous because you drew his favorite card and now he'd have to work very hard to get it from you. Good. The game continues in a similar fashion with your rolls being flawless. It's not a straight string of double 6's as that'd end the game rather quick. But instead it gets drawn out, giving Will the illusion that he can turn things around, that he can win. However your dice are just a little too good for that. It's always just enough to get something that'd be good for you or dodge a pitfall. It's quite amusing. Will grits his teeth as you're nearing the finish line and watches in disbelief as you win your first ever board game with little to no difficulty.

"I WIN!"

"No fair!"

"Dear God, it really is like playing a game with the devil."

Angel just shrugs at Anns comment.
"Told you. You'd have better luck with something like chess, or anything with thinking involved. But come to think of it Silver once shot a guy he played poker with."

"Yeap! Anyway good game! That was fun!"

"Yeah. For you maybe."
Will sulks as you grin at him.

"Anyway these figures are really cool! You said they are from a book?"

"A comic book. Think the Bible with more pictures. Actually mostly pictures."

"That sounds awesome!"

"Sora: Warrior of the Sea is a popular comic for the children of North Blue and certain parts of the Grand Line. It's a story about Sora, a marine hero fighting the evil army of Germa 66. It might be a way for the marines to make kids like them but from what I've heard most people like Germa just as much."

Yeah. No kidding. You've seen Sora, that pompous little weenie. His card is way too good, basically meant to end the game if someone gets it. You dislike such bullshit and decided not to get it instead focusing on the Germa guys who just look so damn COOL! Especially Poison Pink because she's pretty and makes you feel things. But the others are just as radical. Like Dengeki Blue and his lightning powers. It's good to know there are such things out there. Maybe you could start collecting them or something? Eh, too much trouble. You look over to Will who crossed his arms and is now puffing his cheeks, insisting that he's not mad. He sure seems sour about loosing the cheeky little kid.

"What's wrong? I thought you liked this game!"

"S-Shaddup!"

"Hey. The Germa guys are pretty cool don't you think?"

"Obviously!"

"If you could choose what would you want to be? Germa or Pirate?"

"I uh. Hmmmm. What about you?"

"I'm already a pirate. Duh."

"Then I'm the same! I'm a pirate! But. I don't know if I'll ever be one. I'm not strong like you or cool like Germa 66. So what am I supposed to do?"

Ann pats the boy on his pot and gently reassures him.
"Don't worry William! I'm sure one day we'll get there. Until then we must do our best!"

>Ann is right. You'll get strong don't worry (Let Will develop on his own)
>You don't have to be strong to be a pirate. Just help us and that's enough! (Make Will support the rest of your crew)

You bump Will on the shoulder to try and cheer him up a little.
"Ann is right. You'll get strong one day. Just be patient. I used to have thinner arms than yours but now look at me!"

"They aren't much thicker than mine..."

"Well you get what I mean. Anyway just stick to being in the crows nest to help us spot and don't forget to tie yourself down when up there and you'll help us lots! Now how about another round?"

As you get ready and set up the pieces once more you hear faint knocking on the door as it slowly opens, revealing a single eye peeking in through the crack.
"H-He's awake-"

Lyda gathers everyone and leads you to the clinic but makes everyone wait outside and lets only you in as the captain. She hides behind you as she takes you to the bed of the marine and makes you pull the curtain away. The guy could only barely be called awake but at least he's back to his senses now. His eyes move slowly as they detect movement and lock onto you. He doesn't recognize you but he does remember Stitches.
"You-"

She gets on all fours and crawls around the bed to remain out of sight while she adjusts his IV bag and checks his bandages.
"Y-You were in critical condition when we found you. But don't worry, your wounds have been treated. B-But please don't try to move too much! You are still very weak!"

"I don't think he's going anywhere anytime soon."
You grab a chair and sit down next to his bed.
"Hey. I'm Silver. And you?"

"Where, am I?"

"On our ship. Do you remember anything?"

"I, ugh... my head. How much did I drink last night? W-Wait. We were supposed to go to an island. One of Whitebeards- Oh god. No. No! Oh god NO! The blood! FIRE! Where's everyone! THE PIRATES ARE ATTACKING! EVERYONE-"
You bonk him on the head hard enough to knock him out which Lyda reprimands you for as he's still her patient. But you shrug and tell her it was for his own good. After making sure he doesn't have any serious injuries she uses some smelling slats to wake him up again.
"Ugh... my head-"

"Okay this is starting over, I'll just save some time and-"

"SILVER NO!"
>>
Silver YES
>>
Lyda stops you from hitting the guy again and things take a bit of a turn when the marine finally realizes he's in a strange place he knows nothing about.
"Who are you people? How did I get here? And... what happened to our ship?"

You look at Lyda who's too scared to actually answer his question so you step up for her and get to explaining.
"I'm Silver. This is my ship. I fished you out of the sea. And the Whitebeards."

"That so?"
The guy looks intently at the ceiling light knowing full well what that means. That his nightmare was reality a little while ago.
"Did you find anyone else?"

"No. Just you."

"I see. Nobody... We told the Captain we did! We told him over and over again that this is a stupid idea! Now everyone- everyone is-"

Poor guy. Marco and his boys really did a number on them. Almost makes you feel sorry for the marine.
"Here. May I offer you an egg in these trying times? Or would you prefer a crab?"
With one hand you give him an ovoid chicken produce and with the other you tip your hat to him, revealing Marauder chilling underneath and waving at the hospitalized marine.

"I uh... no thanks."
He seemingly calmed down out of the sheer whiplash you gave him and collects himself enough to make a request.
"Anyway I'm grateful. For saving my life that is. But I must ask you for a favor. Could you guys drop me off at the nearest Marine Base? HQ must know what happened here. And since I'm the only one left-"

"Nah sorry. That's a bit hard to do since we're pirates. We'd get shot down on the way there."

"SILVER!"

The guys eyes snap open and he looks at you like a man begging for his life.
"P-Pirates? W-What will you do want from me?"

"Hmmmmm. I know! You're our prisoner now!"
He starts visibly sweating under his blanket and he's already eyeing up your sword and your rifle so you calm him down with a hearty laugh.
"Kekekek! Don't worry I'm just joking. I didn't drag you out of the water just to make you a prisoner. I can get those much easier. Honestly I'm not really sure what to do with you. Got any ideas? Maybe you could give us something?"

Got you guys a little present

Life on the sea can be hard. The conditions on your typical ship can be quite hellish. Sea sickness, scurvy, grueling work and weeks or maybe months spent away from solid ground can do a number on a person. Especially on the Grand Line where the unnatural weather, frequent attacks from marines and pirates alike and monsters make life even more miserable than it already is. Some people just can't adjust. Such is the case with former revered Mother Ann who, against her better judgement embraced sin and joined up the pirate crew of her dreams. But now the relief of sleep won't come to her. She kicks off her blanket and gets dressed before going into the kitchen to maybe finds something to occupy herself with, even if that means snacking and adding to her waistline. As she enters the room with her lantern however she finds an unexpected guest already sitting there, wrapped up in a thick blanket like a cocoon.

"Miss Lyda? What are you doing up this early?"

"D-Drinking hot chocolate."

"Shouldn't you be sleeping?"

"I only sleep 2 hours each day."

"Isn't that too short?"

"I-It's an hour longer than I used to."

As the two of them start talking and Ann asks for Lydas permission to sit next to her another person enters the kitchen with a loud yawn and eyes rubbed fiercely.
"Morning. Oh, sister? Are you looking to join the breakfast club as well? Want some coffee as well?"

"Yes Mister Murray. I'd appreciate that."

Jaws put the pot on the stove to make an extra large batch this time. Once it's ready he prepares the usual portions. A whole bunch of sugar and milk with a single drop of coffee for Lyda and a black coffee with two spoons of sugar for himself. And a third one, black as night and lacking in any flavor besides bitterness set aside so it can get cold quicker.
"How do you take yours sister?"

"Just milk please!"

The mugs are passed around and the three of them get to sipping away at the sweet nectar of life. They drink in relative silence until all of them finished their cups and then Ann looks at the others, eager for answers.
"So what's wrong mister Murray? Can't sleep?"

"Hmmmm. Not quite. Silver is having nightmares again. He gets a bit punchy when that happens. Got some bruises to prove it. Omukade is a maniac and fights back so the barrack becomes a warzone. When that happens I come out and drink with the doctor."

"Does that... happen often?"

"Not as much now, no. But he used to have bad dreams a lot more. Tried giving him his own room once. He just thrashed it every night. That's why we use the barracks and let you gals have the officer rooms. Though we may have to start thinking about remodeling some other rooms because we're starting to run out."
>>
As Murray finishes a fourth person enters the room with quite an irritated expression.
"You guys are so noisy! Do you have any idea what time it is?"

"Morning Marcella."

"M-Morning."

"Wow. Miss Blood Hair! What cute pajamas you have. But why do they show off your midriff and why does it have hearts on it? Did you steal it from a child?"

"Big words coming from the bitch who wears pajamas all day. But shut up for now. Don't have the energy to properly hate you without my coffee. Murray?"

"Here. Black and cold."

"Thanks. SSSSIP. Agh! Damn that Omukade! Can't stomach anything without poison in it now! It just doesn't have any flavor! Look at me, I have to drink BLACK coffee just to feel something! I HATE BLACK COFFEE!"

As things quiet down a bit with Marcellas thirst quenched Ann looks around the table.
"So this is the breakfast club? And what do you do on this special occasion?"

"Wait for breakfast mostly."
Jaws answers.

"In that case may I trouble you with some questions? Regrettably I don't think I can be of much use to you. I'm not a sailor. The only thing I know is how to practice my faith and take care of children. Which is fine with William but I'm not sure I know how to treat Silver. What can you tell me about him? What's he like? What does he do?"

"Pffft. Trying to understand Silver? Better start bashing your own brains in. Maybe then you can figure him out."

"Ignore Marcella sister. She likes to show off her forked tongue but ask Hagetaka about the time they were locked in a brothel. I think you'll find what she said back then positively heartwarming."

"I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU MURRAY!"

Jaws chuckles and then continues.
"But I'm not sure what to say. Guess we can give a few pointers. For starters he has the appetite and eating habits of a sea king. He'll eat almost any amount of anything. And the weirdest part is that he swells up but slims down in like seconds."

Lyda raises her hand to speak up but the others tell her it's unnecessary.
"H-He likes to watch others work. Especially if he sees you doing something interesting. He usually wants to help but erm, he just makes a mess most of the time."
>>
Jaws nods in agreement.
"Then there is this weird thing he does. Sometimes he just stops doing everything and just freezes in place. Thought he might be insane at first because he claims he can hear "voices". But the scary part is when you ask him what he heard. Usually he says some nonsense. But sometimes he really seems to know what he's talking about."

"I-I've seen him... sitting at the nose of the ship. T-Talking to himself like he had a friend there. Usually recounting what happened at the islands we visited."

Hearing all that Marcella sighs and leans back on the chair.
"Why you guys got to be like that? Leave Silver alone. He just wants to have a good time. So what if he does weird stuff to have fun?"

Ann takes in all that and nods knowingly.
"Strange eating habits, has imaginary friends, always energetic and wanting to be the center of attention, weird behavioral quirks and bad dreams. Thank you everyone. I think I know how I can help now. If you'll excuse me-"

Without another word Ann leaves the company of the others and makes her way to the barracks. Jaws, Stitches and Hook follow her out of curiosity. They watch as she enters and carefully sneaks up to Silver and they try to silently warn her to get away from there. But she ignores them despite the clearly visible dents in the floor and the walls. She moves up to her captain and lays down behind him. Gently she nestles up to the young man and wraps her arms around him before pulling him in close. Miraculously the thrashing stops and finally Silver seems to be sleeping soundly.

Hours later when the first rays of sunshine pierce the curtains of the rooms single window Silver gets up and stretches his arms with great satisfaction.
"Hmmmmm! Good morning sun! Man I slept like a baby there! Oh?"

After looking around Silver saw Ann laying where he was. She's much less dignified than she usually is with her hair being a mess and drool coming out of her mouth. Though he doesn't get what she's doing there he doesn't really care either. So he simply takes off his coat and puts it on her so she doesn't catch a cold and leaves her there.

"CAPTAIN! Marine ship at the starboard bow!"

Will shouts from the crows nest as he spots sails popping up from beyond the horizon. Sure enough they have big seagulls on their sails. Well that makes things a bit awkward with the whole "prisoner on your ship" thing. Well you can't allow them to accidentally hurt their friend can you?
"UNLEASH THE CRABS!"

The hold keeping the cannonbugs is opened and the deluge of crustaceans floods out and onto the deck. Since they've been accustomed to the prospect they diligently climb into the barrels of your cannons and curl up into balls. Several volleys of the "little bastards" are unleashed in the vague direction of the incoming ship which doesn't necessarily matter because the little guys don't need to hit the ship, but it sure helps. Their hard shells put nice little holes in the hull of the enemy after which the bugs uncurl and either swim back so they can be fired again or go on to harass the crew by bludgeoning or pinching the marines relentlessly. A few minutes after the initial shot all the bugs return with their job well done and the marine ship barely being seaworthy. You pet each one of them and give them a little snack as a reward while the others take a good look and observe the amount of damage they inflicted.

"Impressive. It's like poisoning a ship! Still we should be careful where we use them."

"Come on Angel! You worry too much! Just look at how well these cuties did! Who's my cute widdle scourge of destwuction? Yes you are!"

"I mean it. They might help us thin the enemy herds but we'd risk them against stronger enemies."

"Pfffft. What are you stupid? The strong enemies are for us not them!"

"Guess I do worry a bit much."
Hagetaka also kneels down and starts rubbing the animals. But as she caresses the holy crustaceans she and everyone else onboard feels a sudden slow-down as your ship stops. Everyone on the deck looks at Murray expecting answers.

"OY! Jaws! I didn't say stop!"

"I know. But you might want to look forward."

Gazing in the direction he points at you see something most unusual. A buoy in the middle of the sea with a sign welded on top of it. It has two arrows pointing in opposite directions with names under them. "San Faldo" to the left and "Water 7" to the right. Coincidentally your log pose seems to be pointing in the direction of the former. But that's not all. It seems like there is a structure floating on the water not far from here. It looks like a house. The one who lives in it must hate others if they want to live here in the middle of nowhere.

"Well that's a first."
Hagetaka observes.
"But it's not a bad idea. If the buoy doesn't move or ever turn..."

"Most likely it's anchored to the sea floor and doesn't move much. And it seems like it doesn't rotate either. But I agree this is not something you see every day. What should we do captain?"

"Let's check out that mystery shack!"

You have Jaws maneuver the ship over to the house and you realize that it's not quite floating on the water as it's standing on some sort of a platform and upon closer inspection you also see some sort of an arch next to it with water flowing freely across it like reverse mountain, most likely propelled by the intense flow of the Grand Line. You could probably sail across it if you really wanted to but instead you opt to setting foot on the strange platform. The others start looking around before heading for the obvious. They find some sort of a post with a schedule on it. Weird. But you personally don't have enough attention span for such things and go for the houses door and start knocking on it.
"HELLO! Is anyone home?"

You wait there for an answer and repeat the same motion. Several times. And louder every time until you hear some rustling coming from inside. The door is unlocked and as it flings open you see the barrel of a blunderbuss being pressed against your nose.
"Whodha hell are you and why didya wake me up?"

"I'm Silver. And because I don't want a gun pointed at my face."

"Sorry sorry. I get a lil grumpy when I'm woken uuuuuuuuaaaaaaa SNOOOOOOOORE!"

"YOU FELL ASLEEP?!"

After waking him up with a splash of water you sit down and talk with the pajama wearing man about what he's doing here in the middle of nowhere. First he looks at your ship before answering you.
"That's a pirate ship. You pirates?"

"Yeap."

"Guess that'd explaaaaaa-"

"DON'T FALL ASLEEP!"

"Ah. Sorry. Anyway that would explain why you guys don't know what's going on here. Look at da water there. See those tracks?"
Indeed there are tracks floating on the water. Which might be one of the most bizarre things you've seen yet.
"This here is the Sea Trains tracks."

"Sea Train? What in the blazes is that?"
Toxin asks what's on everyones mind.

"Give it a minute. It should come in about a few minutes."

The red lights on the platform go off and a bell starts ringing. A couple seconds later you already see smoke rapidly approaching from far away. With a loud thunderous roar some sort of a machine comes and goes past you with speed that not even the fastest ship you've seen could compete with. It goes just as fast as it came, leaving you all speechless.
"Must be impressive for newcomers. It's called Puffing Tom. It's a train, a machine that runs on rails. And this one is a miracle of science, a train that runs on the sea. The tracks connect several islands together and allow both people and cargo to be transported between them. It's much faster than any crummy ol' ship."

"Speaking of ships, I assume that's why these stations are here. To let ships pass?"
Jaws starts questioning him.

"Aye. You can pass over the train tracks at pretty much every island. But you have a few of these here and there. Mostly for Marines to cross. It can do nasty things to a keel if you ram into the tracks."

"What about pirates?"

"Eh. Nobody really cares. At first the navy wanted to cut the Grand Line off from pirates. But that just causes more trouble than its worth. It damages the tracks and the trains as well see?"

Finally you raise your hand and start jumping.
"Ooh ooh! And what's that? Those signs? Those are the islands the train connects right?"

"Yeap. To my left is San Faldo, it's also known as Carnival Town. There is ALWAYS some sorta party going on there. Mighty annoying if you ask me. Sometimes they go so loud I can't sleep-"

"H-How far is that?!"
Lyda mutters.

"I'unno. Like half an hours fare with the train? Maybe a bit more."

"If you go there you're in luck. One of their biggest festivals is happening right now. Basically the entire town is now covered in a masquerade. EEEEEVERYONE is wearing a costume from what I heard. See them goofy idiots getting off here sometime."

"And what about the other? Come on old fart don't keep us hanging!"
Marcella stomps her feet impatiently.

"Relax girl, relax! To my right is Water 7. THE home of shipwrights. I'm telling you, no place in the entire world makes better ships. And before you even ask, yes they don't care who the ship is for. As long as you got money that is."

You break away from the old man for a little while and hold an impromptu meeting to which the old guy rather rudely butts in on. You hear arguments from both sides and it basically boils down to this. Either you could go to San Faldo and have the party of a lifetime where you can blow all your money OR you could go to Water 7 and maybe get some upgrades for your ship and blow all your money. Both are equally tempting.

You slam down your hand as you make your decision after much contemplation.
"Yosh! Everyone! Prepare to set sail! We're going to Water 7! Our ship has been good for us. So I want to keep sailing with her! Let's make the Dauntless the BESTEST ship on the seven seas!"

There's not much protest from the others. Well, there is a little but they all agree that it's important to fix and pretty up your little ship. The old man maintaining the station nods.
"Good call. You won't find any better shipwrights ANYWHERE."

"Old man-"
Jaws gives him an odd look.
"Do you realize that this is still the first half of the Grand Line?"

"ANYWHERE! Anyway you'll find that the place is teeming with shipwrights. A basic rule to follow is that the higher numbered docks are worse. And the closer you get to 1 you'll find better craftsmen. Heh. Just don't expect them to let you into Dock 1 unless you somehow win the lottery! Now if you youngsters had enough of bothering me-"
And he fell asleep once again. You carry him inside his own house and put him down on the bed before closing the door and getting back to your ship.

Following the train tracks is easy-peasy and they conveniently lead you straight to Water 7, the city of water. Though the road ahead could be a bit shorter. You've sailed for quite a while before you even notice anything appearing out of the waves. But when you do it truly manages to awe all of you. It's all one giant water fountain! You can't help but imagine all the slides you could go on! Oh right... devil fruit. But you could still get floaties and do it that way! The others are marveling at boring things like "architecture" and "aesthetics" or the sheer size of the place. Bah. What do they know?

"Hnnnnng! YES! This is going to be sweet! FULL SAIL AHEAD!"

"AYE AYE!"

You open up your sails and go forward as fast as possible. But once you get there you're kinda at a loss since the whole place is basically one big circle with no apparent exits. And it being so big and majestic doesn't help. But you do find a few guys currently fishing who call out to you.
"HEEEEY! ARE YOU GUYS NEW HERE?"

"YEEEEAH! Where's the entrance?"

"That's Blue Station! You guys shouldn't go there! Go around! There's a rocky island you can dock at!"

"Okay let's ignore this chump and go to that Blue Station."

The order is given and you sail straight towards that main entrance the guy told you about. Almost immediately you realize that something's off as there are a lot of ships around you, mainly civilian and trade ships but you do spot a few marine ones as well, not to mention the sea trains tracks splitting the place down the middle. However due to the incredible density of ships they haven't noticed you yet. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all? Ah well it can't be that bad! Sailing through the main entrance you enter some sort of a cavernous, closed off dock that could be perfectly sealed with all the shutters. It's all really impressive to the point that you find yourselves staying still and just admiring the scenery for a while before you head for one of the empty spots. Almost immediately problems begin to arise as you start hearing screams.

"AAAAAAAH! PIRATES!"

Ah yes. The problem with entering a place heavy with commerce in a pirate ship. Ooops. No matter, once they see that you're not here to plunder stuff they'll get quiet. Right? Well it turns out no as the dock security is immediately dispatched as you're pulling up your sails. A rather large crowd full of guns is amassed before you with the guards pointing everything they have straight at you. Luckily they didn't start shooting yet and just shout at you.
"COME ON OUT!"

"Kay."
You jump down onto the docks and get a facefull of pointy objects.

"What the hell were you thinking you maniacs? This place is off limits for your kind! Now here's what will happen! You all come out and maybe you'll unscrew your minds when sitting in jail! And be thankful you don't have to pay a fine for disrupting the peace!"

Looks like they aren't scared of you. A shame, that could've made things easier. You look over your shoulder and see that a few navy ships are changing course to see what's happening. This could get ugly.

You look at them and feel genuinely insulted by all this.
"What? Unwelcome? Why can't we park here? This is disc- disco, it's not fair! I want to speak to your manager right now!"

"You broke our law and you demand better treatment?"

"Well to be fair NOBODY TOLD US about the law we're breaking!"

"It's written on the door! No pirates allowed!"

"Well I CAN'T READ!"
This is getting nowhere. Luckily they do realize that you care about their threats as they do about yours. So you attempt to make a compromise.
"Listen guys I know you are mad and I'm in no mood to do this either. So how about I just leave and we'll pretend none of this happened? Okay? Okay-"

As you turn around however you get a pair of handcuffs put on your arm. You're about to ask them what gives but they ignore you and make their way up the Dauntless to capture your friends as well. They are ready to throw down but you order them to not fight back since technically you made an oopsie this time. So you go along with their plans and end up behind bars. Your crewmembers can't believe what just happened as they look at the bars of their little cage.

"Of all the things that could've happened to us... we ended up in jail... BECAUSE OF A PARKING VIOLATION?! SILVER! I SWEAR IF I GET OUT OF HERE I'LL SKIN YOU ALIVE!"

"Sheesh. So scary!"

"Seriously though Silver what was that about?"

"Eh. Nothing Jaws. Just don't wanna upset people until they do our upgrades."

"Well yeah but now we won't GET any upgrades because we're in jail! Not to mention we might not have a ship either if the marines boarded it. It might be already confiscated."

"Aren't you guys forgetting something?"

A few minutes later a guard comes in wearing some fancy uniform. Probably the chief of security or something else equally important. He looks quite defeated as he looks at you.
"Why? Why do you have so many lobsters on your ship? And why are they invincible?"

"They are my pets. See?"
You lift your hat and let Marauder give him a little handwave.

"P-Please... we'll let you out if you promise to put them back in your ship. They are crippling the Blue Gate..."

"Kay."

You agree to his terms and after a little community service you are allowed to go mostly free. The local security will most certainly keep a close eye on you now. And it seems like someone's been spreading rumors about you as the citizens talk about a group of "idiot pirates" who strolled through the front gate and got caught. Typical. But at the very least the marines didn't take your ship as it was deemed too dangerous. And after the waters were clear nobody really dared to approach it. So all in all you're here in one of the most industrialized cities of Paradise with the locals thinking you're idiots, the authority keeping a close eye on you and now nobody will even go near your ship, much less work on it. Wonderful.

"Hey everyone! Please make sure to thank Captain Idiot for attracting everyones attention! Now we can't even go shopping in peace!"

"Come now there's no need for that Hook! Anyway let's find ourselves a shipwright and get out of this crummy place. Its smug sense of superiority is mocking me."

"That's easier said than done Silver. Don't think many people would be willing to make a deal with us now."

"So what do you recommend Jaws?"

"Personally? Since this place is home to the greatest shipwrights I bet there are a few "outcasts" as well. Maybe we can get some illegal practitioners to help."

"Hmmmmm-"

"You guys don't get it! I want the Dauntless to be the BESTEST ship in the whole world! I want her to be treated well! So we get only the best! And if they don't wanna do it we'll just shove money down their throats until they do! So who's with me?"

"Me."
Toxin steps up.
"I got some very specific requests regarding the kitchen."

"Sigh. And Omukade is bad with money so I'll come as well."
Angel also volunteers.
"Plus I'll make sure to convey your wishes as well doctorine!"

"ALRIGHT! Then it's decided! Toxin and Angel come with me! The rest of you can look around and have fun! But Will don't you wanna come? I bet it's gonna look awesome from that high up! I bet it's like... ten feet tall!"

"Yeah!"
Will jumps on your shoulder and starts kicking you like a mule.
"Let's go let's go! By the way when will I get a cool name like that?"

"When you earn it. When you earn it!"

You set out with your friends in search of the legendary shipwrights but you can't really make much progress with all the damn water everywhere. Can't even walk in a straight line for 2 minutes without hitting a dead end. How the hell do they move around here?
"BULLS! Rent your bulls here!"

Ah. That must be it.
"Hello! I wanna rent two small bulls!"

"Two yagara coming up!"

The RentalBullshop guy presents you with two saddled up animals that look like water camels. Without wasting a second you sit on one of them and urge the others to follow suit while they wonder how the hell you knew to do that. After getting your "steeds" they take you on a little tour of the many canals of the city to show everything off from the lovely little residential districts to the vibrant and rich markets. Finally they take you where you actually want to go, to the very tip-top of the city where the greatest shipyards are. There are 7 of them in total and the No. 1 is THE best of the best according to the locals. So you ask the Bulls to take you right up to their doorstep.
"SNIFFF! Ah yes! It sure smells like wood here! I got a good feeling about this!"

There's a rather large commotion inside as a rowdy group of pirates is talking with the shipwrights in there. They apparently had their ships fixed up but they don't feel like paying their high prices so they won't. Understandable. But not according to the workers inside who mercilessly beat the shit out of them with their work tools and massive wooden beams. Now THIS is the shipyard for you! Unfortunately your good mood disappears for some reason as the pleasant scent of wood and oil is replaced by the stench of feces and stupid. You got a bad feeling about this...
"Hey old man. Those strong guys, are they shipwrights?"

That voice is familiar... No! He's here. He's fudging here!

Ignore him. Ignore him! IGNORE HIM! The mantra goes in your head and it must keep going because otherwise you'd jump at his throat. The ship comes first! The ship means more! Just got to hope he doesn't notice you either. Gu realizes this and stands between you to cover you as much as possible. Angel and Will don't know anything about that so they don't really care. Moving in through the front door you call out to one of the workers who partook in the battering of the pirate crew and you almost have an aneurism when you see him as he reminds you a LOT of one of Luff's goons. But the moment he opened his mouth you calmed down.

"How may I help you yung'uns?"

"Hello. I'm Silver. We heard you guys are good shipwrights and we want some work done on our ship."

"Ah you whippersnappers are here to make a commission? Sure but it will cost you a pretty penny. Are you sure you can pay us laddy?"

"We can assure you that money is not an issue. And this will be a big project."

"Certainly madam. I'm not doubting your words. Just that you could see what happened not a moment ago. Right proper scrap that was! Anyway we're always happy to take commissions however you'll have to take it to the bossman himself. Mister Iceburg is the one who owns the company, and coincidentally he's the mayor as well! Buuuut I will take a look at your ship first to assess things. Once that is done he can give you an offer and you can sign a contract in a jiffy!"

"Ah that sounds wonderful! Thank you."

"Don't mention it miss. It's our job! So if I may, where can I find your ship?"

"Blue Station. Dock five."

"Dock fi- Wait a minute! Are you the guys who parked illegally? Hahahhahaha! Can't wait to tell the others about that!"

"So it's all good?"
You ask the man with the square nose.

"Yes. Of course. Here's how this goes. You can wait around until the president comes around and talk with him to sign a contract. Sadly he's a busy man so that may take a while. Meanwhile I'll go and check out your ship!"
He takes off his toolbelt and begins stretching.

"Wait. You want to check out our ship? Why?"

"You see miss I need to survey your ship to know what we're dealing with. Once I assess the damage Mr Iceburg can give you an accurate price. After that it's simply a matter of you waiting while we work and then paying! Simple as!"

"And it's not a problem that we're pirates?"
Gu asks with his arms crossed.

"As long as you pay we don't mind sonny. We have our pride as shipwrights! No matter whose ship it is we'll take care of it."

That's a good mentality, and if someone doesn't pay up they beat them up! This company sounds pretty good. Maybe you could snatch one of them away. Then you'd have a permanent shipwright... But that's for later. For now you got to focus on fixing up the Dauntless.

"I'll come with! Show you around!"

"Hah! Much appreciated young man but no need! I'll just run there. Be back in a jiffy!"

"I won't be in the way. Watch!"
You shrink down to a small bat and land on his back.
"See?"

"Hahaha! How interesting! Okay. Hang on tight! Yosh, here we go!"

After a brief stretch the shipwright runs forward and jumps on the main gate before hurling himself down the precipice. Your crewmates can only watch as he disappears in a second. Meanwhile you're shouting at the top of your lungs because this feels like being on a rollercoaster. As the guy jumps from rooftop to rooftop like a monkey the citizens below point and smile at him. Wooshing through the city you hear them say his name. Some call him Kaku, others refer to him as the Mountain Wind. And you can certainly see why he earned that name. But to you he's more like a monkey as he clearly enjoys jumping around the place. When you get close to the station he asks you for confirmation about which dock you're at and he quickly runs there without anyone giving him the slightest bit of trouble.

You arrive at the Dauntless in no more than 60 seconds and he lets you down.
"Well? How was it?"

"Again! Again!"

"Hah! When we go back! Now then, let's make that bread."

You get off him as he starts surveying the ships condition and you start caressing the railings.
"See that? You'll get a nice new look soon. We'll get you fixed, buy you some fun new toys and-"

But Kaku immediately notices that something's off with the ship.
"This design, this is a Marine ship isn't it?"

"Yeap!"

"And would you mind telling me how you got a ship from the navy?"

"We stole it. Duh!"

"I figured. But then why are you hiring us?"

"Hmmmm?"

"Why waste money on this ship? Why not just steal a newer or better one?"

You think about it for a moment and humm while trying to figure out how to tell this to a dummy.
"Do you have money? Well if you lost your house you wouldn't feel bad about it because you could just buy a new one right?"

"Ah. But still this ship is hardly anything special. If you have the kind of money you claim you could still build a new one that's better and cheaper."

"No. She is special. Because she is ours!"

"Okay okay. Don't get your knickers in a twist. Now let's see-"
>>
Kaku observes what he can on the deck then you lead him downstairs to show him how things are below. You even show him where you keep the big piles of money that Marcella likes to sleep on from time to time and he can't find the words to express what he feels from that. He even gets acquainted with the cannonbugs and manages to end the meeting without them pinching his nose with their big claws. Once he's done with his observations he goes back to the surface to give you a quick rundown.

"Well the mast needs to be replaced. Doesn't have much left in it. The floor creaks a lot, has way too many splinters and the boards weren't treated well and their protective coating is gone. That needs to go as well. Other than that the ship is in surprisingly good condition not counting these... odd holes. Or those, whatever those are."
He steps onto a strangely red and sticky patch on the floor.

"Oh we like to play ball a lot. And this is where I tripped. I headbutted the railing and split my head in half. It bled for 2 hours!"

"Mmmm-hmmm. Not even going to question that. But yeap. The repairs will be relatively easy. We deal with worse things on the regular. The upgrades however, whooowee. This ship was not made for the Grand Line let me tell you that. The upgrades will cost a pretty penny. That is if you want to reach the next port intact. I still recommend commissioning a new ship. You can even turn this one in. It still has good material we could use."

>>
Keeping the dauntless received overwhelming favor
>writing
>>
>>4612689
Well he says that for a good reason. They do actually make that argument in canon when talking about Merry.
They "COULD" repair her. But if they replaced every part of it then that wouldn't be Merry. Just a copy
>>
>>4612703
But if you build a new ship from old refurbished parts then is it really a new ship, or the same old ship?
>>
>>4612708
What happens if we just burn it all and put the ashes into an urn? Maybe spread the ashes somehow into the framework of the new ship itself? Or would that just be like having a corpse, nothing more?
>>

That would kill it I think. The ship is the body so to speak and the Klabautermann is the soul... kinda. So destroying the body would probably kill the spirit.

"NO!"
You snap at Kaku.
"The Dauntless is MY SHIP! I don't care if she's not special or too strong! I sailed with her and made good memories! And just like my crew I won't abandon her! Because a good captain goes DOWN WITH HIS SHIP!"

You stomp down hard and feel the shockwave travel through the entire deck. Though the Dauntless bobs a little on the water she doesn't get damaged. But the wave still manages to unnerve Kaku.
"Okay okay. No new ship! Got it. Well if nothing else Mister Iceburg should be happy with the fortune he's about to make. Wanna head back and tell him the good news?"

Happy that your message got across you smile and climb on his back in bat form once more.
"Yeap!"

Going back through the city you reach the Galley La company in a minute. Kaku didn't lie, this whole thing didn't take 10 minutes in total. Upon entering through the big archway again you spot Toxin and Angel discussing something while a blu haired guy is standing near them alongside blond lady with big boobs. But at the same time they are having a discussion with... THEM! Those fuckers! Those bastards! What tools!

"Ahahaah! Old lady Kokoro huh? Bet that brings up many unwanted memories huh? If I may ask, who did you send out to survey them?"

Suddenly his assistant flips out and kicks your teeth in with her high heels.
"That's sexual harassment!"

"P-Please don't make Kalifa mad. She often misses when she gets angry-"
Iceburg says with a swollen face that resulted from collateral damage.
"W-Well, this is quite an unusual list. You sure you want to go through with this? Very well. Come to my office so we can make a contract."
He looks over to the Straw Hats.
"Could you wait here until Paulie comes back? I'll be back shortly."

They nod but his assistant raises her glasses.
"Actually Mr Iceburg you have several appointments scheduled so we don't have time for that. You have a meeting at the Chiza Hotel with the management of the glass factory, a lecture at Liguria Plaza followed by a meeting with Mayor Vimine from Puchi. Then to close the day you'll give an interview to the papers and for the rest of the evening you must work out the paperworks-"

"DON'T WANNA!"

"Understood. I cancelled all of them."
Iceburg then leads Toxin, Angel and you into his office while Moron P Goofy gets to eat boogers outside! What a great day! But as you enter the building your ears catch something being murmured by the one with the big, not square nose.

Inside Iceburgs office you get to sit on big fancy leather chairs while his sadistic monster of a secretary brings you coffee. Though Gu doesn't let you drink any because the last thing the world needs is you being caffeinated. So you just chug cream instead.

"Well, if I read this correctly you want a complete upgrade on top of the repairs? And that money doesn't seem to be an issue. Before we begin is there anything in particular you'd like to add?"

"Actually yes-"
Omukade leans forward.
"I want the kitchen to be modernized. I need a lot of new equipment to do my job-"
He then goes on a tangent for about 10 minutes explaining why it's absolutely essential he gets various items mainly used in chemistry. Iceburg just wipes some sweat off his brows and nods.

"And our doctor would like to expand the clinic as well."

"Well, with a kitchen like that I don't see why you'd need more lab equipment. But fine. Lucky for you Water 7 is one of the biggest trade hubs of the Grand Line. Thanks not only to the Sea Train but our booming industry and the Galley La company. So we could definitely buy those. Though it'd cost you."

"Erm, question Mr Iceburg. Would you say it's possible to purchase very exotic things from far away places here on the Grand Line?"

"I don't see why not. As long as you have money and time you can buy almost anything here."

"Sweet!"

"You look happy Toxin."

"Yeah! I've been thinking about something for a while now. Something to help me fulfill my dream! With Iceburg and Water 7's help I think I might be able to pull it off."

"Ahem. Well, aside those two articles I think we can easily do everything else. After replacing the mast, the deck and patching all the holes we'll get to reinforcing the ship. A stronger hull will be necessary, maybe steel reinforcements. New cannons to replace the stock navy ones. Stronger sails are also necessary. I also see... petting zoo? I assume for the crabs. We can set up a small instillation for them as well. Ah and refurbishing all the rooms to make them a bit more cozy. All that plus a fresh paintjob would be-"

"400.000.000 Belli Mister Iceburg."

"Thank you Kalifa."

Gu and Hagetaka are practically choking on their spit after hearing this. They swallow and swallow but it just keeps coming.
"That's outrageous! We could buy a new ship from that!"

"Well, yes. A good one. But your captain was adamant about us improving your ship as much as we can."

"Kekeke!"

"Well... there's an issue though. You see we can improve a standard Caravel only so much. Even with all that there is no guarantee it will last very long. You hear scary stories about the New World. A small ship like that might get crushed. No matter how much we fortify it. Unless-"

"Unless?"

"Unless we take some extreme measures. For double that amount we can start thinking about some experimental things."

"Hmmmmm. Hmmmm? Hold on. I'm not good with numbers-"
You reach into your pocket where a few belli coins jingle around and place them on the table. You stack 4 of them into a little tower.
"So this is 400 million. And if I make another stack that's another 400. So that's 800."

"Well, you don't seem to have trouble with counting-"

"Let me finish."
You pull the coins back and twirl them around between your fingers. 100 million is a lot and hard to imagine. But you're pretty sure you got enough to pay Iceburg even if it's 8 times that much. So you grin and slam down on the table.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SEDnNDNU0J0

BAM. You leave a coin on the table.
"So if we pay you that much you'll fix our ship."
BAM
"You'll make her look like she did before."
BAM
"Make her faster than the winds!"
BAM
"Give her weapons strong enough to make the sea shake!"
BAM
"Toughen her enough so she can protect us while we protect her!"
BAM
"Make her more roomy so we can be more comfortable at home."
BAM
"Give my doctor and chef what they wanted?"
BAM
"And install those super special things you mentioned?"

"Well, yes. That is the idea."

"Good!"
BAAAAAAAM
"But I want you to make her bigger! Because I still don't feel like I have enough people! Can you do that?"

"W-Well-"

BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM
"And to finish things off you'll make her pretty! I want a cool headpiece, statues, flags, a fresh paintjob and other stuff that screams WE'RE HERE! AND YOU BETTER GET OUT OF OUR WAY!"

"M-Mister Iceburg-"

"That's-"

"Captain?"

"OY SILVER! You went overboard!"

"No. I didn't! 1.000.000.000 Belli from my own stash of the Dauntless and Mine! Is that enough to work with? Iceburg?"

Let us go back in time a little. Several weeks ago a lone ship sailed into port at Marine HQ carrying its precious cargo of wide eyed marine recruits ready to be trained and turned into the protectors of justice! But amongst its passengers was someone who already went through all that and yet she found herself back here, much to her chagrin. After finishing with processing the fresh trainees, the officer in charge looked at the girl.

"That leaves only you. Report to the Vice-Admiral at once! You'll find him at the beach."

"Understood."
With the relatively simple instructions given she does indeed find the person she's supposed to meet. It turned out to be surprisingly easy given he's the only person in the area wearing the iconic suit and cape of the Vice-Admirals while also sporting a very silly dog hat.
"Seaman Apprentice Mary Killgrew reporting for duty Vice-Admiral Sir!"
She salutes the esteemed commanding officer who barely seems to have noticed her. Instead he takes a big bite out of a chocolate chip cookie.

"Whoa there. Ease off girl. No need for that stick up your butt! Want some snacks?"

"I don't think that's appropriate sir..."

"Bwahahahaha! Couldn't even deny you're one of Tsurus girls! Name's Garp by the way. You can call me Mister Garp, just Garp or Garpy or whatever. Leave the vice-admiral stuff. Only ass-kissers use that."

"I know who you are sir. Garp the Hero. Everyone knows that name."

"Not really. Not even you know the full name. Just the Hero. Anyway Mary, I know about you as well-"

"Yes. I get that a lot. People often compare me to my parents and-"

"Tsuru praised you quite a bit."

"She did?"

"She said you're stubborn as a mule and more bone headed than an ox. Guess that's why she passed you to me now that I think about it."

"That sounds more like an insult sir... But anyway, when do we begin? I'd like to get this over with as soon as possible. My place is not here but out at the sea. With Captain Hina preferably."

"Bwahahahahaha! That's the spirit! I don't see a problem with that! Hell I'll write you a letter of recommendation myself. With that you could go to whichever ship you wanted! Buuuut Tsuru made me swear an oath and she'll have my head if I break it. So I can't let you go until I think you won't get creamed out there. So here's the deal! Prove to me that you could last more than five minutes out there and I'll let you go with a pat on your back!"

Mary smiled.
"Excellent. How do I do that?"
>>
>>4615305
Many blessings upon you for your sauce kind stranger
>>
Garp let out a sharp whistle aimed at two soldiers running laps around the beach.
"That's enough for your morning jog ladies! Come here!"
Two half naked, half dead, completely drenched in sweat trainees come up to the vice-admiral. They can barely speak from their own panting. One of them tries to salute but his arms physically can't go that high right now.
"These two sissies are my trainees! They've been running laps since 3 in the morning with no food, no water and no breaks!"

"I-It's 9 o' clock!"

"Yeap! Here are some wooden swords. All of you get one and if you manage to knock them out you're out of here! As for you two! I don't want to see either of you hold back. No pirate will hold back against her and you shouldn't be afraid to hit girl pirates either! So hit her like she has dangly bits! Got it?"

"Tch. Too easy!"

But it wasn't too easy. Much to Marys surprise the two guys on the brink of collapse still had plenty of fight left in them. In fact they had such a strong second wind that she could only last 2 minutes before they overwhelmed and disarmed her, leaving Garp to laugh at her teeth gritting misery.
"Well guess that means you're stuck with us then! But don't worry, you can try again any time you please. Of course they'll be getting stronger so I suggest you start doing some exercises. Now... get running!"

Later that evening once the days tortures were over the three apprentices were laying on the cold wooden floor of a simple cabin they had to construct that day, as Garp made sure to demolish it every morning. It was cold, uncomfortable, drafty and full of splinters but after what they suffered through it felt like heaven. In that groggy state one of the lads tried his best at starting the conversation.

"Heeee. Heeee. We didn't really have a chance to introduce ourselves before. I'm Coby. And that grumpy guy there is Helmeppo. Nice to meet you!"

"I don't care."

"Coby please! I swear if you'll try talking to her all night I'll strangle you! I want to sleep at least a little!"

"Don't be like that Helmeppo! She's our comrade now. We should do our best to reach out to her."

"Leave me be! I'm not interested in talking. All I care about is beating you two so I can be on my way!"

Coby then tried to persuade Mary to open up a little bit, even offering to help her with training. But each time he's shot down by the girl. She continuously gives him answers like "you wouldn't understand" or "what do you know about such things". After a while even Helmeppo lost his patience.

"Hnnnng! Okay missie! I've had it. Do you think YOU'RE the only one with problems? This guy can't keep his mouth shut for five minutes without gushing about some pirate! MY father was a marine turned deserter, turned pirate! So there! Screw you, screw your pirate problem and GOOD NIGHT!"

With that the cabin became deathly quiet. Realizing they really should get some sleep after all Coby wished Mary to sleep well and shut his eyes. But Mary couldn't sleep as she was lost in thought. Maybe they do understand after all.

There is a profound stillness in the room as everyone is trying to grasp the magnitude of what you just did. Toxin and Angel in particular can't fathom how you could do something like that as Iceburg and Kalifa are not entirely convinced you're serious.

"Well, could you run that through me Kalifa? Is it possible they even have that kind of money?"

"Certainly."
The secretary flips through some papers to gather information.
"Silver Pirates, total bounty of 190.000.000. Belli. They originate from the West Blue and were formed by the titular "Cavalier" Silver. They are reported to regularly attack and raid various towns and trade vessels. Even so, it's hard to imagine they could amass such a fortune in such a short amount of time."

"Kek! If you don't believe me then ask Mr Square Nose. He saw the money pile!"

"Well, it's not like I ever said I doubt you. Just want to make absolutely sure. While we have no issues doing commissions for pirates I'd lie if I said we like it. A lot of you tend to not pay for the work we do. Usually we have no problem collecting though but in this case? Your total bounty is not even one fifth of the commission."
Iceburg then starts picking his nose without any shame.
"Then again I've been wanting a big project like this. It'd give us an excuse to fire up some of the bigger machines-"

"Mister Iceburg-"
Kalifa spoke up.
"How about a compromise? They pay half in advance as insurance and half when the project is complete. It would minimize our potential loss profit and give us more of an incentive to trust them?"

"Well, that's a pretty good idea."

Hagetaka crosses her arms and puts one leg on the table to assert her presence.
"Usually paying in advance means we get something in return..."

"Well, we don't have much to offer. Such a big project would guarantee your place in Dock 1, meaning only the very best would work on your ship. And with money like that we'd only use the finest materials. The only thing I could give is my word that I'd personally oversee work on your ship."

You give them a big, happy smile and loudly proclaim.
"Deal!"

After a handshake Kalifa quickly finalizes the details of your contract. Sadly Toxin and Angel don't let you actually sign it and to it in your stead. According to them once you pay the initial 500 million constructions will begin immediately. High in spirits you head out and thank Iceburg for being so friendly. Once you're out of their sight however Hagetaka and Omukade start kicking the crap out of you for being so stupid. Gu in particular seems very upset as he's trying to make you understand what you just did.

"YOU IDIOT! That's ALL your savings AND the ships! How do you think we're going to buy supplies now?! You're going against the rules YOU set!"
He lets go of your collar once your eyes turn into spirals and sighs.
"Well huntress? How boned are we?"

"Erm. I've been hunting the day before we arrived. So our pantries should be full of Sea King meat-"

"I-I uh I actually ate some-"

BONK
"HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU TO NOT EAT OUR SUPPLIES? That's it! I'll ask that Iceburg guy to install the biggest lock he can find on my fridge!"

"Come now, I'm sure we're fine. W-Well our fridge won't be operational while they are fixing the ship. Maybe we can ask them to plug it in somewhere?"

"Oh that is excellent! Our perishable foods are now going to perish! But you know what? It's actually fine! None of us are actually going to starve! Only you! Oh and you can forget about milk as well for QUITE a while!"

"W-What? NO!"
Shit. Maybe you didn't think this one through.

You continue bickering among each other until it starts attracting quite a bit of attention. Some of the shipwrights are starting to give you funny looks. And it's not only them that noticed your rather loud display of violence. Indeed an ever louder scream can be heard as its source draws near. Suddenly it comes to a stop as the source of the shout starts screaming.
"Gomu Gomu no PISTOL!"
>>
>>4616303
>"Gomu Gomu no PISTOL!"
Oh no.
>>
Your strangling stops but somehow you wish it continued as you're decked in the face and knocked back. After rolling around for a while you look up with a furious look on your face. It's one thing that your crew beats on you, it's an entirely different thing when someone uninvited butts in! You look up and you see your assailant currently being restrained in a similar manner you were but moments ago.

"LUFFY! What are you doing?"

"Let me go! That's the guy who hurt Vivi! I gotta kick his ass!"

Oh that is IT! Here you were minding your own business, ready to act mature and focus on fixing up your precious ship and not on burying mister Monkey P Goofy. But NO! Some people just can't be reasoned with. Looks like Gu and Hagetaka already dropped everything and prepared for a confrontation but for the time being they are stilling themselves.
"Omukade. Do you know them?"

"Kinda. We crossed paths once. And Silver seems to have some beef with them."

"Silver? Bearing a grudge? Why?"

"No idea. He just does. Guess there isn't space for two head chefs in a kitchen."

You ignore their talk and focus on the Straw Hats crewmembers.
"Don't start a fight Luffy! We might get thrown out!"
At the very least the orange haired girl is smart.

"Please Luffy! Don't anger the scary guy!"
Hey. Isn't that Kaku? Weird.

Well. It's time to decide how to handle this.

You wipe some of the grim off your face and smirk. This is exactly what you wanted! With a quick rush ahead you pull back your hand and punch the bound guy with a great swing. Naturally after that punch he gave you it just doesn't feel right to hold back so you put a bit of Hasshoken into your punch and send Goofy flying out of his comrades arms. The orange girl and Kaku stare as you stand next to them and the pirate is flung backward. Similar to you he rolls backwards several times before he comes to a stop. But unlike you when he sits back he has to grasp his face and wince.
"Ow ow ow! It hurts!"

"W-What? But Luffy is supposed to be immune to blunt attacks!"

You look at them while grinning and try to explain "But not yours" however you don't get the chance to do anything as all of a sudden you're surrounded by big burly men looking at you quite menacingly. Amongst them is strangely enough Kaku alongside the other Kaku next to the orange girl. So rather than worrying about your predicament you keep looking back and forth trying to figure this out.
"Ooooooh. This one doesn't have a square nose!"

Not-Kaku briefly stops worrying about the shipwrights holding you down to karate chop you on the forehead.
"You just notice that now?"

Proper Kaku stops pointing a big saw at your throat to diffuse the situation.
"Now now, let's not do anything I wouldn't do. I don't know what history you kids got there but can it. This is a neutral place so hold your horses. Otherwise we might have to remove you from the premises."

"Hey hey, he started it! I just returned the favor!"

"Good. That means you can both stop now."

"Okay okay."

Strangely enough everyone else listens to the threat of the shipwrights as everyone needs their services. Even Luff realizes that and stands down much to the relief of his nakama. The workers get back to their duty and the Straw Hats actually start mingling with your guys while you and Luffy resign yourselves to peaceful glaring at each other. They don't really talk much as all of them feel pretty awkward about all this. Instead they simply exchange an understanding "You too?" and leave it at that. But the air between you and Luff gets more and more intense. Now both of you are huffing and puffing in your frustration. However in your silent fuming you come to an understanding about not attacking each other.

After concluding your business with Luff you turn away so you don't have to look at his stupid face anymore. In your boredom you try to look around searching for anything to occupy your mind and possibly calm it down. Unfortunately there isn't much that really interests you. The machines while interesting you don't understand and the shipwrights are too busy with their work. That leaves only your guys and MAYBE the Straw Hat goons who seem to be whispering about you. Granted, your staring might have something to do with that.

You consider leaving to go get the money however it looks like the Straw Hats already came prepared. Meaning you MUST leave someone or else they'll cut in front of you and take your spot in the queue. That can NOT happen.

"Oy! Toxin! Angel! Go get the money! I'll stay and make sure they don't steal our spot!"

"It's not a compe- you know what? Forget it. On it captain!"
The two of them leave with Angel being a little concerned about leaving you to your own devices but even she must've realized that since you gave your word you won't do anything.

As they leave you're once again left without much to do so you observe your surroundings. You zone out and let the noise of the shipyard fill your ears. The hammers, the saws and the big machines around you sing in an interesting tune. Their rhythmic beating forms a peculiar and ancient song resonating through the place. This shipyard must be ancient and the ones working in it right now are carrying that hundreds of years old legacy on their shoulders. It's quite beautiful... Until some asshole opened his mouth.

"Oy oy Nami! That weird guy is staring at us!"

"Quit looking you creep!"

"I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU WEENIES!"
You shout back at them.

"Oh yeah? Then why did you attack us?"

"YOUR CAPTAIN PUNCHED ME IN THE FACE!"
You swallow your bile and exhale to calm yourself down. It's not worth getting mad over them. Yet.
"And I'm trying to look at something. So out of my way, shoo shoo!"

"How about no? We got every right to be here!"

"N-Nami please don't make the crazy guy mad!"

"Hmph. You need to stop being such a chicken Usopp. If he does anything those other crazy guys will stop him."
Ooooh she got some spirit. Even though she's probably another big wuss.
"So I heard you say something about money! Are you guys here for repairs as well? Come to think of it how are you here? Aren't you supposed to be on another trail?"

"We found the sea train. And yes, we are here for repairs. And WE were here first! So BLEEEE!"
You stick your tongue out to mock her.
>>
"But wait. When did you guys get here? Merry is the only ship at the rocky cape right now!"
Oh. The long nose guy is observant. You might pay attention to his name the next time it's mentioned.

"We're docked in Blue Station-"

"Those guys! They told us to go to the back like some second class citizens!"

"No. We got in trouble and got arrested because of it. Only reason they let us out is because my pets got out of control."

Hearing that your pets could cause such destruction freaks out the longnose guy but barely even manages to distract the girl. She seems really interested in prodding you for information. Many times regarding the money you talked about and the topic of what kind of upgrades you'll buy for your ship. Naturally you're very eager to tell her and boast about your achievements. So you tell her you stole a whole bunch of money and now you'll use it to buy a whole bunch of stuff for your ship. Her eyes actually turn into Bellies after that point and Usopp tries his best to calm her down. What an eccentric little group.

But the topic of money does bring something to your attention. Namely the three briefcases they are lugging around. The girl has one in her hand and Not-Kaku has two. You can tell from listening that they are full of money. And you're not the only one who seems to know about what's in them as you also hear faint snickering coming from the shadows of a nearby building. But the orange haired girl notices your staring and hides it behind her back.
"What are you looking at?"

"Nothing."

"Well quit it, otherwise I'll have to charge you 1 million Belli for staring at my body."

"I wouldn't stare at you even if you paid me to do it-"
This manages to both shock and insult her sufficiently enough for her to start shouting.
"Anyway, what about your money?"

"Huh?"

"That money. In the case. You brought it to buy repairs with it right?"

"W-Well yes. What's it to you?"

You consider telling them about the bunch of voices salivating over getting their hands on that money. Then you decide against it. Consider it a little payback for annoying you. But now you need to divert their attention.
"You might wanna be careful! Someone might try to steal it!"

"Is that a threat?"

"HEY! DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT TOUCHING OUR MONEY YOU- YOU! GUY!"

"No. Not really. But how did you get it? Seems like a lot. Of course not as much as mine but still!"

"Well in that case I don't think I'll tell you. You wouldn't believe it anyway."
Oh she already knows how to deal with you? She's quick when it comes to figuring people out that's for sure.

"Really? Is it weird?"

"Oh it is!"
She gives you a mischievous grin.
"We got it in a place called Sky Island."

"Oooooh!"

"You like that huh? Well it JUST so happens I still have a map to it! If you give us say, a hundred million Belli I'll give it to you! There is still a lot of treasure there that you could sell for money!"

"Pfffffft nope! What kind of a pirate do you think I am? If there is a sky island I'll just go there myself! I don't want your stupid sloppy seconds or your map!"

"See Nami? Even this doofus gets it!"
You're sickened to your stomach by the fact that you agree with anything this dumbass says.

Defeated in her efforts to scam you the girl gives up and just sits down on her briefcase. She starts contemplating about where that Paulie guy could be because he's been gone for a while now. Her wish is granted when he shows up but unfortunately for her he's followed by three guys who appear to be debt collectors. A small fight breaks out as he tries to get rid of the men pursuing him, which gets even worse when another one of the shipwrights is forced to intervene. It's a guy with a pidgeon on his shoulder and he starts fighting Paulie quiet seriously while the pidgeon on his shoulder insults the guy with the goggles. It's during this that you realize just how ridiculous these shipwrights are as the pidgeon guy can literally dig his fingers in the ground like it was nothing.

It's Mister Iceburg himself who has to break them up.
"Okay. That's enough. How there's not one day when you guys don't go at each others throats?"

"My most sincere apologies Mister Iceburg. But it is not my fault that Paulie is such a gambling addict and that he brings shame to our company!"

"Damn it Lucci! I'm not in the mood right now!"

Suddenly the mood gets a lot more morose with only the Straw Hats not realizing it. They immediately flock that Paulie guy who was sent to survey their ship and start asking him about what he thinks, how much it'll cost and when can they get started. Kinda like how you did. Luff even goes ahead and talks about upgrades and how they have more than enough money for it now. This... you don't like where this is going.

"Calm down kid! Let me talk first."

"Huh?"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6FscTa_Nqwo

"You guys had many great adventures didn't you? I could tell just by looking at it. Truly you had a wonderful little ship-"

"Had? What are you talking about old guy?"

"It's... Well it's not easy for me to say. But you better come to terms with the fact that you won't be using that ship anymore."

That Lucci guy with the pidgeon sits down next to Paulie.
"The keel?"

"Yeap-"
Paulie tells the Straw Hats about how extensive the damage to their ship is. Saying something about a key piece being damaged beyond repair and how that means it's basically over for their ship. You don't really get it but it sounds like what would happen to a man if their spine broke. Once they realize that they won't be able to get their ship back they resort to bargaining, asking for them to rebuild the same ship. Naturally it doesn't work that way. No two men are the same, no two trees grow the same and no two ships are the same. Even if they copied it the way it's put together, the fact that it's not the same wood means it would just be a crude copy and nothing more. Meaning there is only one thing they can do: Abandon ship and get a new one. An ugly situation to be sure.

You feel a pit in your stomach and walk away from the scene. You got no place being there and frankly, you don't want to hear any more of it. Kaku sees this and separates from the crowd to talk to you.
"You're thinking that could've been you huh?"

"Yeah. I like my ship. I'm sure they did too..."

"It's not easy but, people die. And so do ships. Well, at least that means you won't have to butt heads about who gets to go first. Making a new ship takes much preparation. We should be ready to start in a few days."

"Days?"

"Forsooth. It's the weather. Something called the Aqua Laguna is happening soon. Wouldn't want your ship to get caught in it. The whole thing is basically a tsunami that washes over the entire island every now and then. Once it passes we'll begin working on your ship immediately, don't you worry!"

"Good. The sooner the better."

"Your ship should be fine in the Blue Station. But it can get a bit cramped during the Aqua Laguna. But I know a place you guys could rest at. It's a bar here in the upper districts. The owner is a weirdo but he offers rooms and his place is protected from the wave."

"Thanks. I'll do that."

"You're welcome!"

After that you move to a secluded area and take a nap. The top of the main building looks good enough. Closing your eyes you sleep until the voices of Angel and Toxin hit your ears after which you wake up and tear yourself off from the roof. Meeting them downstairs you take the money from them and covertly take it all to Iceburg so your contract can be considered officially signed. On the way there they ask you about what happened that soured the mood this much but you just tell them to keep quiet while you conduct your business. Once everything is neat and tidy you look at them and ask for the den-den mushi you know they took to keep in touch with the others.

Puru puru puru puru-gacha
"Omukade?"

"It's me Jaws."

"Oh. Silver. What's wrong? Anything happened?"

"We got a deal. They'll fix up the ship."

"Ah! That's good to hear! But what's wrong? You don't sound right."

"I'll tell you when we meet. Are you guys free?"

"Yeah. We just finished as well. Got some... complications. Should we meet up?"

"Yes-"
You give him the location of the bar Kaku mentioned and tell them to meet up there.

"Okay. We'll grab Ann and Will on the way there. Ready Marcella?"

And with that he cut the line. After returning the snail to Omukade and silently taking your leave you headed for the rendezvous point. It appears that you got there first and use that opportunity to go inside. The bar is as Kaku described, simple, cozy and has a very homey feel to it. Serving behind the bar is a guy who looks like a bull. He's big but looks friendly enough.
"Welcome. How can I help you?"

"We heard you offer rooms where we can take shelter from the Aqua Laguna."

"You heard correctly! For how many?"

"Eight."

"Ouch. That's a bit much. And rooms are in high demand for the deluge. But tell you what, if you don't mind sharing rooms then I can rent you out two until the Aqua Laguna ends."

"Much obliged!"

"You're welcome. And while you wait for the others can I offer you anything else?"

You're feeling pretty bummed out so regular milk just won't cut it. You need something stronger so now it's time to drink heavy cream. Oh right, you can't. Fudge. When Jaws, Hook, Stitches, Ann and Will arrive they understand that something's wrong. They try to inquire about it but you're more interested in that "trouble" they found.

"Well it's not much really. Marcella lost all her money when she realized there are Bull races to bet on."

"HEY! I was going to win it back! Just needed ONE good run!"

"Yeah sure. But as it turns out that flaunting money tends to attract attention. A couple of perverts wearing fishnet stockings and fetish gear jumped us. Guess they tried to rob us-"

"I don't know. I heard them mumble something about your bounty."
Marcella corrects Murray.

"That must've been the Franky family."
The bartender speaks up.
"They are a rowdy bunch. Bounty hunters and scavengers. They make a living by capturing and handing pirates over to the government, after that they can freely dismantle their ships and sell that too. I'm surprised you guys got out of that unharmed!"

"Well they picked a fight with the wrong crowd!"
Marcella boasts.

"That's still not enough of a reason to take away their manhood Marcella."

"Shut up Murray! They got what they deserve! Anyway what's this about you being all gloomy?"

You share with them what you heard from the shipwrights about the Straw Hats and their vessel. Then Omukade fills them in on the details regarding your horrendous expenditure of money. Luckily Marcella is in no position right now to beat you up over it but she can still be surprised by the other piece of news.
"Oh wow. Their ship is toast? Huh. And ours isn't? I don't want to know what that means. Are we ACTUALLY somehow competent?"

"Miss Marcella please. Be a bit more considerate. Don't you see that this is troubling Silver?"

"Why? It's not us!"

"But it could be-"
You retort and slam your fist on the table.
"I don't want to loose my ship. Or anything for that matter. We got to get better, stronger!"

"Oh yeah? And how are we going to do that?"

"Don't know. But I'm going to sleep on it!"

I've said it before.
Combine our devil fruit power with hasshoken, since both work on the principals of vibration.
We could throw our voice to punch things with hasshoken from a distance, or even around corners.

And if we learn to find an object's resonant frequency, well...

>>
>>4616676

>>
>>4616660
Life release would be good, greater control over our biology could lead to some neat things. As for the rest of Rokushiki I feel like we're spreading ourselves thin by already going for sword, gun, df and two other martial arts. Improving the tools we have would be best.
>>
>>4616697
Yea I think our loadout is fine as it is. I think focusing on what we know and combining them would be a good way to take things.
>>
>>4616706
>>4616697
Idk, we don't really have gun right now since we could only fire one blast at best currently, and the rokushiki moves are pretty damn near to have just incase we find ourselves sin situations where our df powers are nerfed again.
>>
>>4616697
We haven't had much luck with the Fishman karate, nor do we use it overmuch because of this and the obvious advantages of batfruit and hasshoken.

As far as the gun goes tho, there are definite perks to having what is essentially an anti-ship rifle while we can fly and the sword is... However I can't imagine either the jezzail or the sword is all that easy to manage while we're in the hybrid form so its perfectly understandable that we're falling behind on basically everything other then Hasshoken.

But that also means we do still have a fair few options left open to us

There's also the classic vibro-sword thing where very quickly shaking things cut better (or, potentially, cuts beyond the visible metal and makes vastly disproportionate wounds compared to normal stabbings.) Could also apply to claws.

Or a slow punch that transmits waves of energy into things, would be very good at demolishing buildings/ships or breaking a *lot* of bones if contact can be maintained.

Same thing as the sword could potentially be applied to ourselves, imagine us shaking to the point where our outline gets all fussy, and so our attacks might hit even if it looks like there was a few inches between us and them. Basically lag exploiting physics

Hmmm. I'm seeing some good ideas. Some of it occurred to me as well.
Vibro blades sound brutal as well as vibration manipulation on a different scale. The life release is a bit more questionable since it wasn't shown doing anything too crazy unless a zoan fruit was also in the equation. Without that it mainly allowed to control of each part of the users body, like hair, or the changing of the bodies size.
But lucky you, a zoan is exactly what you have

Makes a degree of sense, doesn't it?
A human limb is quite large, squishy and flat, no matter how you cut it (hah!) it's never going to be sharp. Now a wing membrane and claws on the other hand are very thin, so they 'could' be sharp.

And they said being a zoan would be boring.
>>
>>4617549
It's actually possible to cut things with your elbows and fists, or more specifically with your knuckles.
https://youtu.be/O3qJI8sMOoM?t=48

Any hard, pointy part of your body will do.
>>
>>4617552
Oh yea, not saying its impossible to scrape and cause some flavour of laceration with the human body.
I'm just saying: compare that to our quite thin win membrane and the bones/claws within and I think we can both agree which one is better suited for anime cutting nonsense.

"How about you guys? Found anything interesting in the city?"
You turn to your nakama after making a mental note of becoming stronger.

"Aside the perverts ambushing us and me loosing a bunch of my money on gambling? Not much."

"Not entirely true."
Jaws corrects Hook.
"We did find the market. And its considerably colorful counterpart, the black one. Turns out having a sea train and a bustling industry can do wonders for trade."

"Oh yeah, did you get what I asked for?"

"Yeap. But money first-"
Jaws holds his hand out, expecting Toxin to pay his bill which he does with a groan and hands over a 1000 Belli bill. After a smack over the head Omukade pays the correct amount, specifically 100.000 times more than that. That's pretty expensive.

"Thank you. Now here. I don't know what you want with that just leave us all the hell out of it!"

Gu snatches the bottle of clear liquid out of the fishmans hand and begins rubbing it against his cheek.
"YES! Finally!"
Seeing his extreme reaction to the bottle everyone makes sure to shuffle away with their chairs from Omukade just to be on the safe side.

"Oh I almost forgot, here doctor. The books you ordered."

"T-Thank you. I-Is that all?"

Jaws humms in a confirming manner.
"Medical books, botanical encyclopedia and... physics?"

As you're discussing what everyone's been up to during their shore leave a couple of shipwrights from the Galley La company stroll in through the front door.

"Hey Blueno! Two beers and from the cold tap this time!"

"You guys? Isn't it a bit early for getting hammered?"

"Stop being a wise-ass and give us something! We didn't come to spend our breaks idly chatting!"

"Okay okay. How are things at the company by the way?"

"Same old same old. Some pirates refused to pay us, beat the crap out of them, the Franky Family is up to no good as usual."

"Hmmmm. They seem to be quite active today. Something must've riled them up."

"It's the Straw Hats I tell you. Got to be. Word is they stole a bunch of money from them. Even beat up one of their crewmembers! Some guy with a really long nose. I haven't seen that much blood in a while."

To be fair on top of everything else Silver couldn't give less of a fuck about Usopp. But Merry when there is a clear connection between her and the Dauntless? Yeah that's a different matter
>>
Great. Now you're sad again. That ship they have, it keeps popping into your mind. No matter how much you want to push it into the back of your mind it keeps bugging you and unless you get it out of your system you won't be able to rest tonight. Standing up from the table you walk away without a word.
"Oy Silver! What are you doing?"

"I'm going for a walk. Need fresh air."

The others just shrug knowing full well that at this point it's pointless to try and stop you. And by now they hardly even care about the potential havoc you can wreak. After kicking down the door and taking flight you start searching for a rocky cape. According to the locals that's where pirates typically anchor down so that's your best bet. Naturally you have to circle the entire island and only at the very end do you find the place you're looking for. Typical. But at the very least it's not very hard to find the ship itself since it's the only one around. Strange, you assumed there would be more given how much of a hotspot Water 7 seems to be. Whatever. As you land on top of a nearby junk heap you turn back into a human and walk towards the silly looking goat ship. But before you even get close your ears become privy of a particularly loud conversation going on on board.

"This is all YOUR FAULT you stupid Marimo! If you dealt with them when they boarded the Merry they couldn't have hurt Usopp!"

"Huh? And what exactly did you expect me to do about them shit-cook? Kill them all?"

"I-ARGH!"
They seem to be arguing amongst themselves. And while it may sound genuine at first it's obvious they are just all very irritated both because one of their friends were hurt and because of the condition of their ship. But it's not like you care about them so you keep going. However their shouting quickly stops as they become aware of your presence.
"Oy."

"Yeah on it. HEY! What the hell are you doing here? You looking for trouble?"

You ignore them and get within touching distance of the ship when the blond guy points at you.
"H-Hey look! Isn't that guy familiar?"

For the briefest moment you glare at them and they seem to recognize who you are, probably from your bounty. But the reverse can't really be said. You've seen the green haired guy once and know about his bounty. "Pirate Hunter" Roronoa Zoro, bounty of 60.000.000. But the other guy is a mystery. However he's clearly strong as well.

You only give the two straw hats a passing glance and don't even wait for their response.
"You got a nice ship. I just want to talk to it."

They don't really know how to react to that as they've never heard such a ludicrous thing before and collectively decide to simply ignore you until you do something stupid. Which is good because you don't feel like dealing with them either. Walking right up to the hull of the ship you reach out and touch it. Gently caressing it you feel the true extent of the damage that's been done to it. The ship is not pretty at all, it's full with patchwork repairs, ugly plates of iron and random wooden boards hammered into shape to vaguely resemble a ship. Yet underneath the damage is much worse. A great wound running down the middle, reinforced but for how long? You can hear it clearly, the entire ship weighing down on the broken keel and slowly but surely splitting it in half. It's in a great deal of pain and won't last much longer.

"Hello."

"Hi."

You smile.
"My name is Silver."

"You can hear me? I'm Merry."

"Nice to meet you Merry."
You feel something strange in your chest and your lips curl into an uncomfortable smile.
"I heard you're sick. And I... I came to apologize. I didn't mean to hurt you back then when I kicked you."

"That's okay. My friend also hit your ship."

You start walking alongside the hull, not breaking contact with it once.
"I heard you're sick. I'm sorry. You're a good ship you know? I'm sure you had many good adventures."

"I did. But don't be sad. It's alright. I'm not angry. Far from it! And I'm only said because I wanted to take everyone just a little bit farther. I wanted to have more adventures with them. But I was happy. I was always happy! They always treated me well. I had a good life!"

You can't help but pull your hat over your eyes.
"That's nice. You're a good ship Merry. If I didn't have my own I would've been happy if you were mine!"

"Ah. Thank you! And I'm sure you would've taken good care of me as well!"

"I just hope I'm taking care of the one I have now. Of everyone! But I can promise you that I will work hard, a lot harder to keep them safe!"

"That's good! And I'm sure Dauntless thinks the same way I do. Just give her some time!"

Yes. Yes we really do... Hm, we're already buying her some upgrades but that's for us as much as for her... We should get her something nice, *slams fist into palm* I know! We find a girl and ask her what kind of presents girls like!
Pretty sure Angel is the only one in our crew so we should ask her next time we're all gathered (yes there is a joke in there)
>>
"That makes me happy! But Merry, can I ask you a question?"

"Sure."

"Why keep going? It must hurt a lot. You know it's time for you to go. So why don't you rest? Why are you holding together?"

The Merry is silent for a good few moments.
"Because I have to. I must hold out just a little bit longer."

What a strong little ship. And how talkative. You wish that yours was like this. But every time you tried to chat with it she just stayed silent and made everyone think you're just a weirdo who talks to himself all the time. You sniff a little and blow your nose just so you can talk at least a little bit normally.
"Well, I understand. Will you tell them how you felt though?"

"I don't know. Maybe. I'd love to but I'll wait for when the time is right."

"Maybe that's for the better. Well, I won't bother you anymore. I'm sure you want to spend your remaining time with them and not some random pirate. Take care Merry. It was a pleasure knowing you, even for a little while."

As you turn around to leave the Merry calls out one last time.
"Wait! Can I ask you for a favor?"

"A favor? For a dead ship?"

"Yes. I know you are enemies but... Could you look after them? At least for a little bit? Until someone new comes to take my place. They need friends now. I'll understand if you say no. But I just had to ask-"

You sigh as you consider the ships proposition.
"I... can't. We walk different paths. I wouldn't like it if they got in my business."

"Please!"

You raise a hand but just end up wagging your finger. It's against the rules to deny someones dying wish isn't it? Not sure which ones but some at the very least.
"Okay. I'll try. But only until they get a new ship. After that it's her responsibility not mine!"

"Promise?"

You walk up to the ship and bump it slightly with your fist since you can't really do a pinky swear with it.
"Promise."

"Yes! Thank you!"

Without any more words you turn around and leave in the same manner you came, leaving the two straw hats on board wondering what the hell just transpired. They pretty much conclude that you're just a nutjob and leave it at that, since you're not a hostile nutjob. But that's pretty much all that you needed out of that. A good little chat with the dying ship. What weird words to string together. However the Merrys conviction did move you since that is exactly how you'd handle death if it came to you. Just hold out until the very last moment so you can be as helpful for your friends as possible then laugh in deaths face because what's it gonna do, kill you? On the way back you take a little detour to the Blue Station and pat Dauntless for a little to reassure her she'll be taken care of soon and then finally go back to the bar where you left the others.

"I'm back!"
The others have pretty much been partying since you left and by this point most of them are quite tipsy already. You move over to the bartender and ask him if your men were causing him any trouble.

"Not at all. In fact you guys might be the only people who leave tips in this town. It's quite refreshing."

"Hey Silver! Where have you been?"
Hagetaka asks as she pats you on the shoulder.

"Got air. Any news while I was gone?"

"Not really. There are some rumors that the Straw Hats are looking for trouble and that the Franky Family is acting quite suspicious. You can put 2 and 2 together I'm sure."

"They are going to fight huh? Guess they want their money back."
You wonder about helping them with that but decide against it. Those perverts the others talked about don't sound strong at all so they probably can handle that. However there is still the matter of helping them as per Merrys request. Since you promised you just gotta do it. But what about the others?
"Guys. I made a decision."

"Hmmmm?"
The partying stops as your crew looks at you.

"I decided we'll be friendly with the Straw Hats until they get a new ship."

"Huh? What's gotten into you? Work together with those loosers?"

"No Hook. We don't work together with them. We just go and have some fun in the area if they are having trouble there. That's it. Once we get out of Water 7 or they get a new ship you're free to throw rotten eggs at them. Here. I already had some prepared-"

"WHATTHEFUCK THROW THAT OUT!"

After the others force you to abandon your future ammunition they all agree with your orders even though they don't really know what compelled you to make it. They even ask if they should go and start "playing" around the vicinity of the Franky House just to be on the safe side but you tell them it's not necessary and start stealing the drinks of others since you can't buy your own. The partying goes on afterwards with everyone being very generous with their money, no doubt making the owner a very happy man. During your several hour long debauchery other guests show up and allow you to gleam some information out of them. Apparently the Straw Hats did go through their assault of the Franky House in the afternoon but the details are a bit hazy. Well not like it matters, after all you called it right. They didn't need your help. The merryment keeps going until the sun starts setting at which point even your hardy boys and girls start feeling the effects of the feast and they slowly but surely retreat to the shared rooms.

By the end only you remain, the only one who hasn't consumed any alcohol or not too young like Will. You sit alone at your table stirring the last bit of the applejuice you stole from Will in exchange for a few shiny rocks you found at the beach, which was most likely scrap metal. The bartender slowly walks over to you while cleaning some glasses.
"Are you gonna stay up for much longer? I'd like to close up shop soon."

"Hmmmm? We have to stay in our rooms the entire night? What if I have to go to pee?"

"No. You have a key to your room and are free to come and go as you please. But the law says I can't close the bar until the last guest leaves and before that more people can come in. So-"

"Okay. Then I'll head out for the night. It's okay if I come in through the window?"

"Only if you don't break it. But where are you going at this time of the day if you don't mind me asking? There is not much to do in the city this late."

Adjusting your coat you give him a truthful answer.
"Can't sleep. So I'll go and look at the sea. That usually helps me rest."

"Okay. I'll lock up then. Good night."

Nodding you leave the bar and fly down to the beach where you look for a comfy spot to rest at. Sitting down you start looking out at the sea and allow yourself to be lost in your own little mind for a while. As you get lost in your memories the air around you cools down quite a bit, no doubt due to the deepening night. However your comfy little nap is disturbed when your ears prick up. Normally you wouldn't be so easily dragged back into reality but the unmistakable sound of a distant gunshot will do it. You transform into a bat to get a better read on things. Though the echo of the gun has already faded the chaos it birthed is still making noise. The entire island is rumbling in response. Someone just tried to kill an important person and not down here, no. It happened on the upper levels. And it's very likely that this means Mr Icecream was attacked. Now your gut is telling you to investigate it.

Flying back in the city you locate a particularly tall structure, a clocktower will do, and land on it. Observing the city you search for the culprits. It should be easy as the noises must be following them. And you do find the source of the trouble. Taking off in a hurry you cut in front of the ones running away from the scene of the crime. You do manage to get a glimpse of the people making a scene. But what you see is both something familiar and something you never would've expected. The sight shocks you so much that you forget about what you're doing and crash into a building with your small, bat body. When you pry yourself away from the brick wall you try to piece together what just happened as an angry mob runs past you, not paying attention to the bat in the suit.

"Those eyes... Where have I seen those eyes? Ah yes! I remember where I saw her before! But she got bigger! Devil Child, Nico Robin. What the hell is she doing here? And most importantly, would she sign my bounty poster?"
You got so star struck seeing another famous West Blue pirate that you completely forgot about catching her. Oh well, better luck next time.

After managing to free yourself from the embrace of the bricks you went and looked around the city for a little bit in the hopes of finding Nico Robin. At first you just wanted to see what she was doing here and maybe get her to sign her bounty poster but after a while it became personal. There is no way someone could just disappear into thin air like that and it started to bother you that she gave you the slip like that. However despite even your incredible ears you couldn't find her or even a trace of her ever being there in the first place. You kept this up so long that your sense of time got all messed up and didn't realize the sun started to rise. With baggy eyes you looked at the first rays of light and grumbled to yourself in defeat.
"Morning huh?"

Annoyed you walked back to Bluenos bar and entered when the others were already busy with dinner. They took one look at you and could see that something's not right, even beyond the fact that they couldn't find you in the guys room in the morning.
"Wow you look like shit-"
Marcella speaks with her pancakes almost sliding out of her mouth.

"S-Silver!"
Ann rushes up to you and begins cleaning the grime off your cheeks with a handkerchief.
"You're all dirty! What were you doing?"

"I was playing hide and seek. I lost... What's for breakfast?"

"A mug of oatmeal. That's all you're getting after the stunt you pulled with your money-"

"Thanks Toxin."
CRUNCH

After witnessing you eat the mug as well Gu flies into a rage and begins strangling you once he realizes he has to pay for the mug now as well. As he continues to choke you however a loud, blaring alarm interrupts you in your shared breakfast as a series of loudspeakers come to life.
"Attention please! This is the Water 7 Weather Forecast Center. An Aqua Laguna warning has been issued for the entire island. Its arrival at Water 7 is estimated to be shortly after midnight."

"Huh..."

"It's one thing after another in this place huh?"
Jaws speaks up as he flips through the papers.
"Look. Not only that but apparently Mister Iceburg, the Mayor has been attacked yesterday. What is going on in this place?"
As he continues his eyes snap open and the cup of coffee he's drinking falls out of his hands. The shattering ceramic attracts everyones attention to him and they begin asking him what's wrong.
"Oy oy oy... this... can't be, right? It's not what I think it is! Is it?!"

He turns the papers so everyone can see them. Just a little bit under the headline you can make out the following sentences:
"The attack is currently treated as an armed robbery as a large amount of money has been stolen from Mister Iceburgs estate. The exact number is unknown however it is estimated to be in the millions."

You think about that for a while before slamming down your fist on the table.
"Hook! We're going!"

"Eh? But I'm eating!"

"Then finish and let's go! I don't know if it's our money but even if it is, it's not our money anymore. We paid Icecream now it's his money. And he still owes us a ship. But this does sound interesting!"

"So you wanna go there just because it sounds fun? Do it. Just leave me out of it!"

"No. I wanna go there because there are now a lot of Bellies out there that a few pirates could pirateer!"

GULP
"Oh? I like that line of thinking! Okay let's go! You jackasses stay here and keep the beds warm. Don't wanna loose our rooms when the Aqua Laguna hits!"

"Don't worry. We're not planning on going anywhere."
Jaws waves you off and so do the rest of them.

Once outside you decide to forego Bulls and just take the Silver Express straight to the top and good thing too because there is quite a lot of congestion's in the waterways right now as everyone and their mothers want to check up on Iceburg. Apparently a lot of people want to go in just to check on the mayor but the big iron doors are closed before them and if anyone tries to jump the waist high fence they get pummeled by the dock workers. Only the press are allowed to go in and even they aren't allowed in the main building. You land down right in front of the big iron door and the people around you are already raising their voices in frustration.

"HEY YOU! WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?! GET IN LINE LIKE EVERYONE ELSE! Only the reporters and concerned parties get to cut in the line!"

"I am a concerned party you weenies. Now out of my way-"
You step through the guys and with a simple push on both sides of the door you open them like a regular saloon door, creating quite the dust storm as the gargantuan gates swing open wildly. The crowd behind you retreats just a bit as they pee their pants. But before you could step through you hear loud shouting coming from the sky.

"STRAW HAT!"

You look over your shoulders and up at a bridge behind you to see three figures hiding behind some sort of veil and dancing. Apparently they are looking for the straw hats. But that's not your monkey, not your circus. Or at least you would ignore them if they didn't drop the blanket and strike a funky pose while calling out the Straw Hats. Your eyes turn into glistening stars and you feel compelled to copy their pose but Marcella ruins your fun and drags you in by the ear.

"B-But SUUUUPER!"

"No. You're the captain. You should act like it once in a BLUE GOD DAMN MOON!"

Marcella makes you close the doors on the way in and pushes you through the crowd of journalists and breaks down the door of the big building Iceburg lives in, which is still technically part of the Galley La company. At this point the shipwrights come around and greet you with weapons as only now do they realize you kicked down their doors. A lot of them seem quite antsy and all of the high ranking foremen are here armed with their signature weapons and ready to throw down. Paulie takes charge of the situation and speaks for the others.

"Hey hey, what the hell are you people thinking barging in just like that? People might get the wrong idea and assume you're here to finish the job. So you'd better start talking quickly before we decide to be on the safe side and bury you right here!"

Marcella lets go of you and takes the lead.
"You idiots don't get to order us around! We heard about your little "incident". Care to explain what the hell is going on? Or more importantly... what kind of money got stolen! Because if it was OUR 500.000.000 we might have a little problem on our hands!"

Paulie seems nervous.
"Five hundred? The papers were not given the amount stolen... That must mean YOU stole it!"

"IT MEANS WE WERE THE ONES WHO DEPOSITED IT YOU RETARDS!"
She takes out her baseball bat and smacks Paulie in the face who ricochets around the hallway like a baseball.

"Coo coo. Sorry Miss. But everyone is a little bit agitated right now."
The guy with the pigeon on his shoulder speaks up.
"After Mister Iceburg got attacked we can't afford to be careless. But yes, it is true. The money that was stolen was yours. To top it all off Mister Iceburg was shot 13 times. 5 times in the front and 8 in the back. It was quite a gruesome assault. But worry not. We at the Galley La company never fail to deliver. Even if it means we'll have to cover the missing money ourselves, your ship will be completed."

"It better be!"

"Coo coo. But if you could leave now we'd appreciate it. Mister Iceburg is in a critical state and hasn't woken up yet from his coma. So we-"
Looks like your position is secure. Still, you smell an opportunity here.

Should we just blurt out that we may have some information about the case(seeing Nico Robin fleeing the scene)? It could help our bargaining posture and on a meta level their reactions to it would be revealing to Silver

Eh, I'd much rather hunt down the bastards who tried to interfere with Dauntless' upgrades/makeover then babysit someone (and steal our money back, lets not forget about stealing our money back)... And for some reason I have a difficult time seeing Silver sitting still when something goes down, and we did kind of promise Marcella that we'd get the cash.

>What can you tell us about the attack?

I thought this option was to be hired to hunt down the assassins not guard Icecream. I agree Silver, despite having the skills to make a great sentry does not have the personality for it.
>>
>>4629415
I mean, maybe? But "they'l probably be back" sounds a lot more like "keep the guy alive" then it does "manhunt" to me. Could be wrong tho, and if you're right then I'd happily change my vote to that.

It would be nice for him to show some cunning by getting hired to do the thing we were gonna do anyway... But then again, that would probably entail getting paid to return the money... And we could just not get paid and keep it instead.

Choices, choices.

>What can you tell us about the attack?
Honestly, I'm not sure how to go about this all. Our agenda as anons have said is the ship, its completion, and possibility to steal "back" our money. Maybe if we can figure something out from them regarding the money itself?
>>
Hmmmm anons are clever enough that they figured out my ruse.
Yes, Silver would mean "I'll hunt those guys for you" while the shipwrights would have him sit directly in front of Iceburgs room as a bodyguard
Instead you'll be asking information to conduct your investigation

You may have thrown a wrench in my machinations but that's okay

As he goes on you raise your hand and shut him up.
"Who attacked?"

"Coo coo. We don't know. And until Mister Iceburg wakes up we won't be able to-"

As he speaks the sadistic secretary of the mayor comes in, her eyes and cheek flushed with red, a proof of her recent crying. She tries to dry up her tears and blows her nose into a piece of cloth before addressing the workers.
"Everyone. Mister Iceburg... has finally come to!"

There is much joy among the workers to the point that they simply ignore the two pirates right in front of them and run back right to their beloved boss. Kalifa the secretary urges everyone that they must be quiet when entering. Thanks to everyones attention being on the bossman you can slip in with everyone. One loud mouthed guy immediately gets thrown out while everyone else gets to meet Iceburg. The workers all thank the heavens for his safety and tell him how glad they are that he's fine. Judging from his voice Iceburg must be very weak as a result of his injuries and bloodlust.

"Argh! I can't hear a thing!"
Hook whispers to you but you don't pay much attention to her. Instead focusing on Iceburgs weak voice. When the workers ask him who attacked you actually hear him giving an answer!

"There was two of them. It was... a man in a disguise. He wore a big costume and a mask so I don't know who he is. But the other, there's no mistaking it. Those eyes, those dark eyes could only belong to... Nico Robin."

The shipwrights get very worked up and start asking who that Nico Robin is that Iceburg mentioned. They get very uproarious when they see a bounty poster fixed above Iceburgs bed belonging to her. You hear Kalifa adjusting her glasses and without missing a beat she gives them a quick rundown.
"Nico Robin, bounty of 79.000.000 Bellies. Affiliated with the Straw Hat Pirates."

"Damn those guys! Do they want revenge because we told them we can't fix their ship?!"

Hook is taken aback by the quick shift in the mood and you pull her out of there. She's looking at you expecting an explanation.
"Did you hear what they were talking about? Who wanted revenge?"

"They said it was Nico Robin and a man in a costume."

"Nico Robin? THE Nico Robin from West Blue?"

"Yes. And they are saying she's with the Silly Hat pirates?"

"The- Who?"

"The Straw Hats! The ones with Goofy! Aren't you paying attention?!"

"Huh? Those jabronies? They don't strike me as the bloodthirsty kind. Then again, I didn't know they had terrorists in their crew. So? What do we do now? Get the Straw Hats? They might still be at the entrance! If we act quick-"

>Good idea! I'll beat out of Luff where my money is!
