RECAP OF THREAD 1

You are Hyenus, the weakest gnoll of the Bloodseeker tribe. Your dream is to become the pack leader and the Champion of your demon god Gnolrek. It took years of unproductiveness, but you finally decide to stop slacking and start working towards your goals.

In a matter of hours, you train and improve greatly, but many shenanigans happen and a goblin ends up severely wounding you. You spend two weeks recovering in the shaman’s hut, unconscious the whole time after being accidentally drugged with special herbs called “kudinds”, which also gave you a premonitory dream where you fought a human king.

After waking up, your childhood friend Daitzsa leads you to a hidden cavern behind a waterfall where you can both spar without her jealous husband Gunyx pestering you. However, what you thought would be a simple sparring match turns into a serious fight after Daitzsa goes all out and forces you to awaken your Bloodthirst. Your newfound powers help you defeat her, ending the combat with both of you heavily injured.

Daitzsa confesses she always wanted you to assert your dominance. As much as you want to mate with her, you control your urges and decide to carry her back to the tribe instead.

You venture deeper into the cavern, looking for a safe exit. Along the way, you stumble upon a strange, glowing cavern wall with eye engravings staring at you. A voice tells you to touch them. Assuming the place is haunted by evil spirits who want to possess you, you decide to teach those pesky eyes a lesson by destroying one of them with your weapon, but a demonic voice vociferates at your actions – it was one of Gnolrek’s eyes! In a fit of rage, he sends a pack of demons after you and Daitzsa in an act of revenge. The cavern is a portal to Hell!

With the help of a mysterious power granted by an unknown entity, you and Daitzsa manage to escape and return to the tribe. Everyone thinks you were attacked by a demon of the Tufted Ears, one of the surrounding tribes. The only pack member who remains suspicious is Gunyx, who is certain that Daitzsa was cheating on him. Now he wants to catch you alone and hurt you badly.

Daitzsa and you are taken to the shaman’s hut to be treated, and you fall asleep. Gnolrek's general sends you a dream, in which he orders you to complete three trials in no more than 30 days if you want your sin to be forgiven, or else Daitzsa will be sacrificed and you will be hunted down. He warns you not to tell your pack of what happened in the cavern, or they’ll be destroyed.

You decide that it’s not worth obeying those demon scumbags – it’s better to seek allies to face Gnolrek instead. One of the trials you were given is to destroy a hidden dwarven fortress located in the same cavern you escaped from, as the dwarves keep the forest untainted with their powers. You’ll seek their help instead - it will be your first stop!

RECAP OF THREAD 2

After falling asleep again, you wake up in the morning and overhear a conversation between the shaman and Willow, the pack leader. You learn that the tribe will summon a demon to retaliate against the Tufted Ears. The summoning will start at midnight, and it’ll take the shaman five days to complete the invocation. A human has been kidnapped for sacrifice in order to begin the ritual.

You resolve to continue training while recovering from your wounds. Once you are in better shape, you’ll head to the dwarf fortress. As you leave the shaman’s hut, you get into an unpleasant encounter with Diana, a pack member who stole credit from you for killing a big boar weeks ago, humiliating you in front of everyone.

You venture into the forest to gather herbs and learn about Herbalism, but nearly stumble upon a chatting Gunyx and Diana. Hidden behind some bushes, you stay and listen to their conversation, and learn that they’re both looking for you to beat you up... or worse.

Making sure to not be seen, you return to the tribe to see Rakuta, a herbalist with great knowledge of plants. You ask him to teach you about Herbalism, but the shaman barges into the hut to ask him for assistance, so his daughter Nikita ends up being your teacher for a one-hour session. You learn a few Herbalism recipes with her.

After the class is over, you venture into the forest again to gather the herbs you need to make a Healing Concoction, a potion that will speed up your recovery. It takes you a while, but eventually you find all the ingredients needed.

As you return to the tribe to make the concoction, you stumble upon two humans abducted by a pair of Molkaras, a rival tribe of pervert gnolls. Those molks have no business in your territory, so you kill one of them and his companion escapes.

You consider whether to release the humies or leave them to their fate, conflicted by how their species abducted your mom when you were a child. However, you come to terms with your resentfulness and decide to release them… only to be ambushed by a group of humies at the last moment. They think you wanted to hurt the captives, and there’s no use in reasoning with them…

All of a sudden, seven molkaras –including the one that ran away- emerge from the surrounding bushes. They were going to ambush you, but were clueless that the humans were there. A battle between both sides ensues and you take the opportunity to run away.

You wait for the chaos to cease, then return to the battlefield, only to find all the molks dead. A mysterious green wolf is burying the corpses – you talk to it and learn that its name is Luna. She’s the benevolent spirit of the forest who granted you the power to escape the demonic cavern.

As you help Luna bury the corpses, she suddenly senses a member of your pack approaching and runs away to avoid being seen. Before you can react, Diana appears out of nowhere, surprised at the sight of you burying molkaras!

RECAP OF THREAD 3

Diana threatens to tell the others that you were burying molks if you don’t give her credit for the kills she thinks you are responsible for. After realizing that she fears your strength, you decide that you won’t have any of her crap by telling her to buzz off, to which she complies begrudgingly.

You return to the tribe, but Rika, Daitzsa’s mom, invites you to her hut, only to accuse you that you were somehow responsible for her daughter’s wounds and demands to know the truth.

Without a single word, you release yourself off her grip and leave her home. You intend to go to your hut, but stumble upon Diana, who attempts to ignore you.
After reflecting on the importance of two Omegas working together and becoming friends, you try to leave the spitefulness behind and greet Dyana, but as expected, it doesn’t go well. You forget about it and head back to your hut to make the damn healing potion for once and for all, then drink it to the last drop.

You find a suspicious crow in your hut, who follows at you without doing anything else. Paranoid over demons watching your steps, you decide to go ask the shaman about the signifiance of these birds... but on the way to his hut, you stumble upon a terrifying scene - near the altar of sacrifice where the abducted humie lies unconscious, dozens of demonic crows surround you, intending to attack you!

Aided by an unknown being granting you powers, you end up channeling a ball of pure light in your hands which ends up destroying many of the crows - the rest fly away, scared by your new mysterious ability. You vomit a black bile afterwards, and feel much cleaner inside - the influence of demons has left you!

Confused by the weirdness of the situation and utterly lost regarding what to do now, you decide to return to your hut and pray to Mom for guidance. Drowsiness invades you whole, and you fall asleep, only to wake up in a strange dimension where you meet up with your deceased mother after years of absence. You learn that she became an angel in the service of Anu, the 'supreme' God according to her.

Anu communicates with you and explains that the Armageddon - the final battle between good and evil - is coming near, and he wants you to become his champion of light against the demons. The mission he tasks you with is to seal the six portals to Hell that exist all over the world. You accept his blessing, and he grants you many new powers. He orders you to go to the dwarven fortress as soon as possible to receive your training.

As you wake up and realize it's nighttime, you get surprised by your Dad's invitation to the summoning ritual. Gnolrek lied to the shaman and made an arrangement so that YOU sacrifice the humie! Clearly, the demon god wants to get his influence back in you...

Changes to the quest mechanics:
- New skills added, focus skill removed, formulas simplified, etc

Hey guys! it’s been a while but this quest is finally back. Now that college is over I found time to start running again. Updates will be during weekends, in a weekly manner.

I’ll post the first prompt now, then continue running this friday after new year.

Your pack waits impatiently to rejoice in the humie's suffering. It’s the first time they stare at you with proud eyes, happy that you’re one of them. They respect you, which is what you always wanted. It feels so nice, yet wrong as well, considering the nature of this ritual...

As you gaze at the spear you’re holding in your hands, the voices of your people reach your ears. They demand for blood to be spilled in the name of Gnolrek.

No... you can't do this! Violence and love for fighting may be ingrained in your gnoll nature, but torture is on a whole other level! Demons are so messed up… the same creature that's offering you his powers is the one that nearly killed you and Datz and is threatening to invade the world! You cannot give in to temptation...

Maybe there is still time for you to follow Gnolrek... he knows what you want, unlike Anu! He can help you be the strongest gnoll ever! He knows that you wish to be respected and loved by your people, and heh even offered you a lovely mate! You never saw Natasha with desire before, but now that you think about it, she’s pretty cute… and if there is anyone to settle down with without breaking the sacred codes of your tribe as if you did with Daitzsa, it is her!

Becoming the respected pack leader and leading your people to victory against humies and other tribes - those are your dreams since you were a child, and Anu is forcing you to abandon them! How can you bring yourself to do that just because that one-eyed idiot demands so?!

... Where are these feelings of mercy for humies coming from? Since when did you become such a pansy? Why would you give a damn about humans and their suffering?! All that matters is the Bloodseeker tribe! They are your family – everyone else can ROT!

There is only one person to blame for your confusion - MOM! Her teachings brainwashed you into rejecting your true nature! If it weren’t for her, you’d be like the others – you’d be a REAL warrior!

The almighty Gnolrek can gift you with so much! Why would you follow Anu and help him establish a world without violence?! It sounds boring as HELL!

Look man, here are our options, we kill the humie, even quickly and we risk losing Anu. We go along with torture and we're stuck with Gnolrek because the demon summoned will make sure we go along with the trails or he murders everyone we care about. We run away with Daitzsa and the summoning happens anyway and everyone we love will get murdered. We could also try to roll charisma and tell them Gnolrek plans to effectively end the world via possessed gnoll surrogates with all the other demons and tribes and create a new hellscape as a prelude to their final battle against Anu, but too many might actually like the idea.

Well I tried that argument when we were in front of Anu and saying that accepting his blessing now would immediately trigger Gnolrek to kick up his bets on getting us on his side and that's why it would be better to wait and not alert Gnolrek by taking in Anu's divine d and here we are having gone to the end result of trade-off after having forced Gnolreks hand. Etc etc etc.

I don't expect them to agree at all. I expect them to listen and then force us to react according to our needs.

Oh great this quest is back. Guys regarding soup girl I really do think QM is basing her off the star vs. Quest yandere that I mentioned last thread. Step by step, you slowly approach the altar. The panicking human shrieks and begs for mercy, terrified at the idea of a painful demise. “NOOO! PLEASE, NOOOOO!!!”

As you gaze into its eyes, a feeling of mercy and empathy suddenly invades your heart. It’s similar to when you spared the goblin and asked Diana this morning to stop the senseless torture...

Damn it! A true Bloodseeker shouldn’t be experiencing this! What do you even stand for?! Why is it SO hard for you to do what’s easy for the others?!

... No. You can’t do this. Sadism definitely isn’t in your blood. You’re loyal to the tribe, not the demons and the horrible rituals they brainwash gnolls into doing. You are not less of a warrior for refusing to give in to this madness!

Unsure of what to do, you simply stare at the human while the pack encourages you...

“Hyenus! What’s taking you so long?!”

“Don’t be afraid, dude! It’s not as hard as it looks!”

You’re trying your best to come up with a plan. Should you tell the pack that you aren’t ready for this responsibility and hope they understand? Or maybe you should sprout your wings right now, grab Datz and head to the dwarf fortress...

There’s no clear way out of this mess. Every course of action is a gamble with uncertain results. All you know for sure is that a path of pain awaits you, regardless of what you do.

If you go along with Gnolrek’s plans and help him turn the world into a hellscape, it’s obvious that his followers won’t be spared from the torment... and even if they were, the rest will suffer. It's not right...

If you don’t submit, then everyone you care for will get raped and murdered if you’re unable to stop the summoning in five days. The pack won't understand that you just want to protect them by not carrying out the sacrifice, and everyone whose respect you wanted to earn will be left disappointed...

Hoping that your words have reached the hearts of your pack members, you look around to see if anyone supports you… to see if a miracle has occurred. Unsurprisingly, nobody looks happy with your confession.

Krubbai continues with his accusations. “The almighty Gnolrek granted Hyenus a chance to redeem himself by sacrificing the human in His name. It was a test of faith... and he failed! He had the nerve to reject Gnolrek TWICE!”

“That makes NO sense!” Rurk exclaims furiously. “You told us that Hyenus always wanted to participate in a ritual! Did you lie to us, Krubbai?!”

The shaman calmly shakes his head “I would never lie to my tribe, Rurk. Indeed, a part of Hyenus wishes to be one of us... but his mother’s teachings linger in his soul still! In an act of unloyalty, he chose to follow a god that condones mercy and benevolence to receive powers without compromise! Those wings on his back are the reason he managed to escape from the Tufted Ears demon with Daitzsa!”

“W-what wings?!” you hear Natasha yell as she tries to search for you with her blind eyes. Her voice sounds desperate, as if she was about to break down crying. “Hyenus, what’s going on?!"

As you prepare to fly away, the shaman speaks once again. “My fellow tribesmen! Gnolrek had tolerated Mirabelle’s existence... but He will not tolerate an omega who works with His enemy! Everyone goes silent again. Judging from the surprised look on their faces, they were not expecting the shaman to say that...

"So be it!" Diana encourages his decision, but the others remain silent. It's as if they disagree with such drastic measures, but don't dare to voice their thoughts...

Like if there's no actual translation to our tongue from a foreign language we still understand it, but we won't learn and master skills. Also even with your plan we'd first need to know karate exists in this world, which we don't, or rather if its even a thing in the first place. Also, understanding and speaking all languages also requires having a great vocabulary that even includes names and their meanings in order to fully understand anything said by others, which is basically what you are saying is the special ability.

Here's a clarification on how Savior Tongue works. Looking back to it, the description isn't clear enough, so blame me for the ambiguity on the matter.

The thing is, describing this power as "being able to understand and speak in all languages" does imply that it grants knowledge of multiple concepts and topics. But that's not what the ability actually does!

Savior's Tongue gives you intuitive understanding of the grammatical rules of other languages, and it grants you knowledge of words that refer to concepts you are *already* aware of, such as spears or huts. This means that you can greet a dwarf and chat with him as normal for the most part, but you'll still need to learn what "beer" and "steel" are if he mentions those words.

The part about being able to "learn new concepts the moment you need them" actually means that you only know languages from races whose existence you're aware of. There are more races than dwarves and humies that Hyenus hasn't met yet, so he won't be able to recall any words from those unknown races' languages until he learns those people exist, at which point he'll learn their language immediately.

tl;dr: It's a power that lets you communicate with most intelligent creatures in the world, but it's still limited to ideas you're aware of. You'll still need to learn the meaning of words that are tied to concepts you haven't ever thought of. For example, right now Hyenus can say 'plant', 'anger', 'demon' and 'Gnolrek' in all languages, but he can't speak of 'machines' or 'togas' until someone teaches him the meaning of those words in the person's own language. After that, he'll be able to talk about machines and togas in all languages, so long as the concept exists in them (there's no such thing as "machine" or "toga" in Gnollish).

If this is still not clear enough, just ask. I'll update the description of Savior's Tongue next time so it's more accurate to how the power really works.
