On a fateful day in October 2077, the entirety of the world was engulfed in nuclear finality. Radiation waved, vaporization of whole people and buildings, and the uncaring aftershocks peppered earthen faults.

From the parallel of all this happening lays the supernatural aspect of the Fallout universe. Even before the bombs, it laid in the shadows puppeting humanity and fighting for its influence. However despite of all this, not even such entities were the cause of this catastrophe. That blame lays only in humanity and its follies. That is not to say however that such beings weren't without their own.

Our main query of the supernatural in this quest is the Vampires. This society, if any at all still remains, has been violently shaken by the Great War; not as bad as the Shape-Changers or Fae, but very bad indeed. Population centers have downsized, some to half of the Antediluvians have awaken with being roused by the great claps of the nukes around the world, chaos reigns, and the advancements many Elder Vampires were just getting used to have flatlined across the board of society due to the cataclysm. Worst of all rumors and hearsay speak of the Antediluvians; the most primordial of Vampirekind, have re-awoken having been roused by the nuclear exchanges of the Great War... many Elders fear this, but most ignore this as mere lay talk only..

Despite this however Vampire society still persists some how and you have been inducted by some measure. Before getting into this detail, let us explore the history of our story's character.

You were born in the West Coast of post-war America. This region out of all others have seen resurgences unheard of before in the form the newly burgeoning New California Republic. With the help of an elusive figure in history only known as the Vault Dweller, the small village of Shady Sands has grown in territory and federalism with the first President Aradesh and his daughter after his retirement and journey into the wastes.

However it still isn't the premiere polity in the West Coast. The Shi while content with being a highly developed city-state spreads its influences and lobbies into the growing republic. Vault City likewise is also content with its borders, but disparages the ever expanding NCR.

The Brotherhood while helping centuries ago driving out the mutant threat of the Master's Army, is still relatively recluse and to its policy of procuring advanced technology from communities or individuals who shouldn't have it.

Many caravan companies continue to grow with the relative stability. Of these seem to be the up-and-coming Crimson Caravan company.

The various mob clans of Reno continue the debauchery and profits of their land more or less independent. New clans rise, old ones fall, and some old ones keep their power.

The remnants of the Master's Army still dot the land, but most have been cowed to ignore humanity and go on their own paths.

It is also to note that even with the California core region becoming more and more akin to a pre-war nation-state, the many trappings of the Wasteland still persists in its borders. Raider tribes still terrorize the landscape and notorious ones still live on in the form of the Khans, despite the Vault Dweller seemingly destroying them. Even then, much of the West Coast is still anarchic and without a true grip of anyone controlling it.

Further beyond is the Mojave. It is a land where no man truly controls it. It is filled with many tribals and wastelanders seeking to make a living in this post-war apocalypse.

The major tribes of this region are the Sliter-Kin, Boot-Riders, and the Hungry People. From the ruins of Las Vegas they control much of the politics that go on in this region and beyond. Outside the chaos of the city itself, the suburb areas such as Primm and Goodsprings flourish with travelers from all over coming in to the Mojave.

The coming decades will be interesting for the fate of the West Coast.

You were born in the North-Eastern outskirts of Las Vegas, in the general campus of the Old World airforce base called "Nellis". It is a site of great interest for scavengers across the Mojave wastes, while reviled and regarding with suspicion. Only the perimeter of the base is picked on by most, as the inner complex still has an active defense system which ranges from the little most MKI Turrents to heavily armored Sentrybots.

The base and its outlaying buildings however is a treasure trove of scavengeable items and commodities, which fuels vast settling of either transient communities or semi-permanent ones who stick to this area. Trade comes in frequently from caravans journeying from the far North through the Long-15 and local from the other districts of Las Vegas.

{Who were your parents?}

[No Family section]

>You had none. You were deliberately left outside a moderate active trading post in a suburb. The various Traders and Craftsmen that resided here gradually helped you grow up, but you had no close ties since many people come and left for other business ventures.

>You had none. You were left outside a privately owned Church owned by a missionary group.

>Your parents were killed when a rival tribe raided the camp one night. As a tribe, everyone in it cared for you equally, but you still essentially were without family and more or less on your own.

>Your parents sold you into slavery as a child to pay of a debt. From birth, you work for a local bar magnate in the Nellis area.

>You never knew your parents, but since you were a baby you were raised by a company of Prospectors fully based in Nellis. The Nellis Airfoce Based complex is so wide and grand that major competing corporations of the same type also operate here.

>You are born to a humble family of farmers who have learned techniques of uncovering aquifer and a few natural basins around Nellis to be profitable.

>You are born to a family of small caravaneers who came from the north of Utah looking to make it big with the rumors of Nellis and the market potential here.

>You are born to a family of post-war tribals native to the Mojave region. Like the other tribes, yours tries to stay out of the way of the major three. As a very semi-sedentary people in this Nellis region, many caravan companies and tradesmen flock to your tribe for trade.

>You are born into a raider-gang. Somehow even through the shortest and finality of this profession, your parents have survived thus far and had you. The gang of your family is minor, but very ruthless and tactful; more than other outfits ought to be.

>You are born into a family of Wasteland doctors. Professional people with pre-war knowledges in medicine that aren't tribal placebo techniques are in high demand almost everyone. With hearing the growth of the Nellis region north-east of Las Vegas, your parents quickly came here to meet demand.

Your family was quite correct on their decision to settle in the Nellis campus area. Between Prospectors being shot by other rival Prospectors; to people coming to your parents to seek treatment to illness, your family makes healthy a good living in this region. Your family lives in a Bungalow house within a small, but lively locality of other Wastelanders who similarly moved to the Nellis area for the bustling nature of it. Most like, like your own family, have come from the core districts of Las Vegas or out areas further south.

Raiders sometimes probe, but the area is mostly safe due to the frequent caravans and their guards trading in the area and the local Prospectors driving them off.

You are named Franklin by your parents. Your mother was extremely fearful of the close call you had during childbirth with the Medical Mr Handy (now decommissioned and sold for scrap), to the point where your father was shunned by her for a few days. Beyond that little excitement however, you grow up among your father, mother, and two other older siblings; Mikey and Henderson.

Nellis out of all the districts of Las Vegas city is relatively safe since its far away from most of the action in the metro area. Though tension in the region increases as more raider-gangs from the south-west enter into the Mojave with the "NCR" as your community learns about pushing them out of California core. This causes the ripple of effect of more people migrating to the Nellis campus area around the complex to seek shelter and the opportunities of this region.

Your father, Dr. O'Hennesy conversely continues to grow his clinic enterprise until your family commissioned the construction of a small-density hospital from the local laborers and artisans. Your family gained more prestige and notoriety in the area until your father became a member of the Nellis Town Council; a governing assemblage of people influential in the community.

[In your early childhood, what did you mostly do?]

>You were completely average and mostly meek as the third child in the family. None of the kids would dare to bully you because of your status, but you likewise were too shy to try and make friends.

>You were very curious and explored much of outer-campus Nellis as you could; as much as your parents would allow you to travel that is. You left no stone untouched and tried to look into everything. This often had the affect of disturbing more unscrupulous folk around outer Nellis, but it was all fun to you.

>You took to your father's acumen and from an early age was very intelligent. You often helped your father and his small amount of staff around the hospital. You were very interested in the human body and ways of various treatment your father gladly drilled into you, proud that you took after his profession more readily than your older siblings.

>You took to your father's acumen, but in a different way. After your mother described to you what a "robot" was some few years after your birth discussing your scar, you became obsessed with them. With your father's wealth, he had purchased many mechanical small robots for you to tinker and play with. Soon you'd become very ingenious in working them.

>You ran a moderate posse with the other boys of the community and terrorized the other weaker kids. Often sometimes other children would rival you from other parts of Las Vegas and you'd have childlike wrestling matches or competitions to prove who is more superior. Strength became a primary focal point for you.

>From a young age, you had somehow fell into the role of delivering things to people to and fro wherever. It certainly wasn't exploration, since often times you had to trail the same routes in the neighborhood; so your parents weren’t as worried. You often times tested your self in speed to break previous records and learned thinking quick helped you run stuff more faster.

>As you continued to grow, so as you looks into childhood. Many of the local girls would swoon to you and many older women commented how handsome you’d be. This confidence helped you gain in composure and speech; indeed, your tongue and fast social sense become more and more honed than some Viper gangsters, even at your young age.

>For some reason, you liked to spy and eavesdrop on people. At first with your clumsiness at a young age, you were caught many times and scolded, sometimes beat. However these mistakes modeled you and soon you became a great stalking wind, sometimes maybe heard- but never seen. With this you became noticed by some adults who wanted information on other adults, gaining you a lot of caps from an early age.

Both your parents are thrilled that at such an early age you took up an intellectual interest, while your older brothers took to more "unintellectual" pursuits as your father deemed it. With the local Prospectors and frequent traders in the local economy, you were gained the necessary materials almost all the time to further your practice into robotics. The best of your projects was a Protection that had seemed near in-recoverable by the merchant that owned it due to corrupted software.

However despite your wishes and with your perceived aptness, father would sometimes draft you to helping around the hospital. Still it wasn't the end of world, but something that was merely a side-focus. Dealing with Robots was what intrigued you the most.

[How was your mid-Teenhood like?]

>With more mounting patients lately during the time, you had to step in more with behest from your father. While you didn't really specialized in further in better methods in treatment, you worked maintenance on the various medical instruments and devices around the hospital to be sure they were up-and-running.

>You continued on with studies into Robotics. From making mere skitterbots, you gain more adeptness to the point where one day you repaired a Sentrybot a couple of Prospectors brought back from the mid-portion in the Nellis Base itself. Some of other people around the Las Vegas metro come directly to the Nellis outskirts to seek your service.

>Becoming a little more older, your parents let you travel about more. You liked to travel the Mojave wilderness and take sight of the wildlife on goings around Vegas. With this becoming a routine to you, sometimes you'd guide some newcomer travelers for a fee to help them.

>With you becoming a teen, your parents finally let you have more leeway like your brothers. Of all the favorite places you frequent in Las Vegas is definitely Freeside and Freemont street; essentially where the heart of all the chaos in this region happens. You become more charismatic and by some accounts, more good-looking to the many other girls you speak with and date later.

>A local gang operating broadly in North-East Vegas hears of your talents. They contact you and you quickly agree to be an associate of them. They bring you various Robots they might've killed or scavenged in the deeper uninhabited ruins of Vegas and give them to you to identify valuable parts in them. Sometimes they even commission you to repair units for them for battle.

>You leave home early with understanding from your father and mother. You joined up with a caravan traveling all over the Mojave region; doing so because mercantile pursuits began to interest you a lot of late and a caravan came into town looking for recruits.

>Local politics your father is involved in as a member of the Nellis Town Council interests you a lot. Despite him wanting you to stay out of political affairs and focus more on your studies, you make yourself embedded into the functions of the local government. Intrigue and statecraft is something you hone well.

>The local regulators, the name of the force employed by Nellis Town Council, catches your interest at how they investigate and unearth crimes; and dispatch threats to the community if need be. You tutor under them, much to the chargrin of mom and dad- but its some sort of calling you feel attached to.

>At age 15 you accidentally killed a Prospector by firing a gun wildly out in the wilderness. You thought you were alone, but you weren’t. As you looked upon the body.. Something snapped within you. From then on for whatever reason you’d practice to get adept at stealth and the ways of quick killing; practicing on Bighorners and Geckos. Maybe humans again.. Soon enough..

>Nellis was assaulted with a slave raid, of which you were one of the ones captured. You became embroiled in a world that was something you couldn’t comprehend. You were too sheltered by Wasteland standards. However as you gained more respect in the raider clan you were enslaved into, you gain your freedom and became one with it.

>You ran away from home, being stifled by some recurrent disagreements within the household. You’d move to downtown Vegas itself, where you hoped to make it big. However you find this place to be a hellhole and a dog-eat-dog place. You weren’t a wimp though and were too proud to go back home.. Yet

With more and more studies into Robotics, you quickly gained reputation around as the guy to-go-to for anything Robotics related. It was with your expertise that you helped deactivate some of the pre-war US Army Robot machines in the south-west portions of the Nellis Base itself, opening up a whole new avenue of resources to flow into the Nellis outskirt community. You also made yourself a Mr Gutsy and for a time had an Assaultron up and running, but sadly an integral piece of hardware to it was broken and thus unrecoverable; until you get a replacement component.

Life so far goes into a somewhat regular routine.

[How were you as a young adult? (19-21)]

>With the urging of your brothers Mikey and Henderson, you get out some more and stopped being such a mad-scientist style recluse; adventuring with them around Las Vegas and its many markets and bustling atmosphere. You make a lot of contacts and get better knowledge of street affairs.

>When some Prospectors brought in a cache of Laser weaponry from some wing of the Nellis Base, you were hooked instantly. Along with your hobby of Robotics, you began maintaining and collecting all types of Laser weaponry you could get your hands on. You also invest in some Prospector agencies specialized in procuring Laser or Plasma weaponry.

>Your father retired his position as Councilor, but before doing so he recommended you as the next incumbent for his vacant seat. Despite being the third child, you were his favorite do to the intelligence and study you displayed over the years. You didn't want the seat, and lucky enough for your father's long-time friend took the position. That friend however, "requested" you to act as his secretary. You supposed your father had a hand in that.

>After a one off day of contact with the private regulator force employed by the Nellis Outskirt Town Council, you become friends with one of the sergeants of the agency. From there you enlist as a part-time volunteer, despite your main profession as being a Roboticist. The NO Regulators taught you basic squad tactics and urban warfare courses.

>You left home to travel around the Mojave. From there you acted as a traveling salesman, mostly catering to the mid-market who could afford buying Robots or Robotic parts. Soon you built up a good business acumen and technique, gaining even more money combined than you did doing odd fixer jobs back at the Nellis Outskirts.

>One day a gruesome murdered happened in the community. It involved a sweet older unmarried lady who was a florist. Not wanting this injustice to go unsolved or punished, you dogmatically perused through every alibi, lead, and clue for only a few days until you solved the murder; exposing a Prospector who was her lover. After that case you became adept with seeking out and solving other cases such as that.

>You took a large loan from one of the local gangs from the mid-town area of Vegas. When your venture failed and you couldn't pay back what you owed, they made you an offer: Your knee-caps get broken as an example or you fight on our behalf in the Thorn. They probably suspected you’d die, but somehow you excelled in the Thorn against other people. You paid your debt, but you took a liking to this raw fighting..

>Seeking some thrill in your life, you decide to move to Las Vegas proper. Its a place of sin, even with all these tribes still about over the place. Gambles fly, lies hide, and the truth seems not real even when in your face. Here you become a somewhat of a minor low-tier socialite off the back of your father’s wealth and begin to get some influence. Some of the local three major tribes take notice of you…

>When your father was assassinated by a rival from the Town Council, you killed the assassin and the Councilman who contracted in the first place in revenge. Not wanting to get retributioned on, you fled. Thereafter with a taste of killing, you become a contract killer around the Mojave; taking in jobs from the lowest to highest profiles.

You wanted to decline it, but you had no choice considering the push you were getting from your father and his friend. In musings done on your own, you supposed father wanted you to be "used" to the Council environment as it was an open-secret he wanted you to continue on the family influence in the Nellis outskirts.

The job was a slight-bore as it was mostly a clerical and accounting one for the old fart you'd be a secretary for; but for the most part you got a free office, a luxury you didn't have seeing as your family loved in a Bungalow with only a few rooms. From here you could works on designing and drawing up new schematics in peace without any disturbance.

One night while strolling back home, you met a very unusual figure along the way.

>A very composed and seemingly confident middle-aged man stands right in your path. He'd be dressed in an attire that was half Wasteland metal armor and the other parts just regular plain suit. Something about his encounter parts you at great ease- for whatever you don't know. (Brujah)

>A bald man in a somehow pristine pre-war looking suit begins to walk with you. You don't call him out nor really speak to him, but you walk in silence for awhile before he stops you. He has a very gleeful smirk on his face. What did he want? (Followers of Set)

>It was less of a meet and more of some sort of ambush. The being infront of you had some animal parts in a few parts of the body, suggesting that it could be a mutant. (Gangrel)

>A man dressed in a very black suit, matching with the current nightsky came to you at seemingly the most opportune time. He would watch you silently for a very long time without saying it. (Lasombra)

>The man before you seemed to be shaking uncontrollably for a few moments, before getting back some semblance of control. He looked deep into your eyes, for whatever reason you don't know. (Malkavian)

>The man was horribly deformed, to an extent you were certain he was some sort of mutant of a sort. He came closer and close to you, but stopped. Now an intense eye contest ensured between you and the being infront of you (Nosferatu)

>What was before you was a very handsome man. He wore a premium suit, slightly long air, and smile that immediately put all your alarm down. It was as if this person before you was a very charismatic person.. and you just couldn't look away from him. (Toreador)

>A man in semi-casual attire would simply block your path. He seemed down to business and not once changed his expression. No matter how you tried to move, it had seemed something went wrong and you were directly infront of him again. (Tremere)

>Whatever this was.. wasn't a man. It stood tall and muscled, but very wiry. Its skin was wracked in various gray colorations and what looked to be hardened exoskeleton. It peered directly into you with its moribund orange-iris eyes and pitch-black sclera. (Tzimisce)

[Alright, I finally awoke!]

"Hello sir, could I help you?" You'd ask the strange man. He doesn't respond or even acknowledge what you said, he just continues to stare at you taking in his own considerations.

It was then after a stint that seemed like eternity, he finally spoke, "Yes. You'll do fine." He'd say in his very regal voice. It shocked you because you never heard an accent like his in this region of post-war America... It was decidedly unique and determined.. and laced with power.

"What do you mean "I'll do fine?" Is this some sort of joke?" You probe to the man. He just smiles at you.

"Would you like... to be of my brood..?" He asks to you. You had NO idea what he meant by this, but his mere demeanor.. assured you greatly. Even if you didn't know what he meant by this.. a long silence passed in the Wasteland night.. before you accepted whatever his offer meant.

From there on, everything about your existence changed right there and then.
—————————————

It's been 2 nights from when you were embraced by your sire, Agustin Piedrabuena, who had been around since before the bombs. He revealed to you the entirety of the supernatural and the lore of Cainite history, as much as he knew himself.

The Kindred, the word of what Vampires call themselves, was mixed into 3 groups called the Camarilla, Sabbat, and Anarch Movement. Each had a different philosophy of unlife and way of action. Often times, and most in the case of the Camarilla vs the Sabbat, fought eachother. With the bombs however, the times of Kindred society have shifted back to the Dark Ages your sire remembers from his sire (your grandsire). Almost all of the sects have died down with the pre-war society that had to facilitate a strong masquerade is now no longer needed. Indeed, in some places in the Wasteland Kindred rule the night from either the shadows or openly in some places.. How you never heard of the latter when you were human intrigues you, but that could be chalked up to such types still being careful.

Your sire embraced you because you are a native to the region and seemed to be of noble blood, considering your family's status in the Nellis Outskirt town. You honestly didn't consider yourself that way, but with your master's sheerness and raw Presence, you didn't really correct him in your own thoughts. He thought you the basic ropes of Vampirehood in the previous night; the same one you were embraced. As he suspected, you catch on easily, learning various tricks to rouse the "kine" to feed on or getting a bite at an opportune time. He also teaches you use of your innate powers called "Disciplines," the abilities to shape humanity's psyche like a fiddle.

You apparently had other broodmates, essentially others who were embraces by your sire aswell, but they were engaged in other ventures on Agustin's behalf or had unknown whereabouts to him. However the main reason he embraced you because word around the Mojave was that Vault 34 had recently opened and the heavily armed former residents were going about the Wasteland maraudering. It just so happened that one of your sire's longtime nemesis, a Nosferatu by the name of Henrique D'Silva, had somehow before the bombs arranged to have a haven in the Vault through some sort of machination he did. Indeed as your sire revealed, some Vampires as they often do, slip through the cracks of bureaucracy and somehow got embedded with Vaults to survive the looming Great War.

Your master's rival was one of these such Kindred. Your sire Agustin Piedrabuena had trailed him all the way from Martin Encizo, Mexico some years after the bombs after he heard D'Silva was in located in Vault 34. However when he got into the Mojave region it was found to be very inhospitable despite a mysterious anti-nuclear defense array taking out most of the nukes- many rioteer groups and criminals made cultivating a herd very difficult, to the point your master had to go into torpor for ages until things got settled. Which was now.

The Vault 34 people must've been cultivated and curated by D'Silva, for generations probably your sire suspected. Though Agustin wondered why D'Silva may have motioned for his possible Herd to leave the Vault, as such a site is a wonderous premium for Vampires as a self-contained environment of recurring kine. Whatever happened however, now Henrique was finally in a position for Agustin to take him out.

You were given a simple charge by your master; with your position as a secretary in the Town Council of the Nellis Outskirts, you were to gather up influence and power from either behind the scenes or more upfront in behalf of him. From the leads Agustin was hearing around the Mojave, the Vault 34 group was surely, but slowly coming toward Nellis. It would be here Agustin would spring the trap when they'd finally come and dispatch them all, to Henrique himself. Your sire will be doing other work, but he entrusts you to gain power in this local area too to expediate the process.

Thus begins and carries on the War of the Ages for which you have become embroiled with.

Nobody in town knows or suspects that anything is wrong with you, not even for the fact that you no longer are active during the day. You canceled all previous appointments to count for your new condition. You also finally purchased your own domicile in town to the surprise of your parents and siblings. But it was necessary to drive out any possible suspicion about your new sleeping patterns, even if you got is just a mere scrap-metal 1 room shack.

It was also you discovered what your "flaw" was. As a Venture as your sire told so, you could only drink the blood of certain types of people no matter what and it was very hard to change what would be acceptable to your new undead metabolism. It seemed that you could only feed from women or girls who had pitch-black raven colored hair. Not that bad you supposed, but very inconvenient as there was some residents in the Nellis Outskirts who had raven hair, but not anyone you had distinct relations with. Travelers and roving Traders could also be a choice, but they were few and sometimes far inbetween at night exactly.

For now you'd be in a plaza, watching the brewing nightly activity of people still up and about in town. You continued this for awhile before realizing you had a task from your sire to enact. Though how you'd go by doing it is very up in the air as he sort of dropped you with only basic guidance.

>Begin stringing influence with the Nellis Regulator force. They're sort of the town "police" but really a private company. With enough time they could be under your control.

>Enact to your father's wishes and try to get a seat in the Town Council somehow. How you'll pull this over with all the seats occupied with so little time, you don't know

>Use your position as secretary to the Nellis Outskirt Town Council government to craft networks of contacts within from behind your position instead of directly.

>Do what you do best; begin building and shoring up a contingent of Robots in preparation for the suspected confrontation your sire will have with his nemesis. Though this will take alot of resources and time, even maybe some setbacks.

>Head to Las Vegas downtown and see if you could cultivate some of the minor tribes to your cause.

>Begin getting a commercial presence in town with the local Prospectors, Artisans, and Merchants. You'll need a greater source of revenue to do your feature efforts.

>Forego all of this for now and try to feed

Snapping out of you internal deliberation, you decide to mount greater ties with the economic element of the Nellis Outskirts. Getting such a sector under your control or allegiance will be a good idea and a basic base to stage from. You already had a good run with such avenues in your previous stints before becoming a secretary official for the town. Touching again may just be easy- or could possibly be not.

Within town there were a couple of firms that had a major share in the market here.

There was the "Hustlin' Finders," a major Prospector company that took the most risks of exploring the Nellis Base itself, despite all the dangers there. From the times you dealt with them they were very shady however and sometimes almost gave you bad deals that you had to double check. They were headed by one man instead of a common Board decision system and his name was Macklin Vargas. He used to be a raider, but "reformed" into this legimitate(?) business.

You could go to another Prospector company in town, but the "Hustlin' Finders" were the best in town out of anyone else.

In a more mundane area there was the general informal workshop district of town where most of the Craftsmen and others had their enterprises housed. This area is much more liquid with Nellis Outskirts being a touch point into the Mojave itself from the Long-15, but there have been a few staple individuals that still operated here. The most important were the irregular scrap-extraction group, which you knew well of due to your expertise of Robotics and making contact with them. The other irregular group in the workshop district were the figurine-makers of Nellis Outskirts who surprisingly massive revenues from rumors you've heard. They gotten such due to the steady stream of travelers and tourists looking to get souvenirs.

The last important sector of commerce to note was the general merchants, who were in a loose association in town. Despite not necessarily producing nothing at all by themselves, they had a knack for parsing market fluctuations and meeting that change in Supply and Demand. Though like the workshop district, this interest of society was very liquid- with many merchants leaving to form their own Caravans around the Mojave. The risk of building up from the merchants would be moderate, as any contacts you may touch base with may leave at any moment.

There were also some other tertiary industries such as gambling, prostitution, and blackmail. However this portion of the local economy wasn't really directed by anyone as there wasn't really a gang problem with such a medium-sized town such as this and a semi-competent Regulator force. Though with your acumen and the prospect of this vacuum, you maybe could take advantage.

You decide that gaining a tie with the scrap-metallurgists and general scrap-metal sector of the town would be the best choice. Scrap resources were in high supply, but still valuable despite this for its extensively utility. While quite humble, getting into business would be a good starting launch pad to go about.

The walk to the workshop and manufactoral part of Nellis Outskirts is a short one. Activity here would be still on with the various Artisans continuing on with whatever brand of work they were engaged in. People moved all about the paths here and supplies were being transporting in and out. Walking some more, you come upon a few house-workshops were most of the scrap dealers and metallurgists would be located. Despite the hefty incomes they get from scrap trading, the buildings in this area of the workshop district were badly battered and corroded; though that could be attributed with the supposed austereness of the people that run scrap and just use their own material for house building. Some people here recognized you readily, while some didn't.

First and foremost, you were a scientist. Part of that aspect was analyzing all motions in a result. Before striking to a deliberative conclusion, you wanted to better understand the complexities of what was going on in this area of town. You had some money, but you didn't want to squander or waste it in a wrong venture. Through the exact sciences of finance weren't your forte, so you'll only have to rely on your raw intelligence on the matter. Though the exact difficulty will be lessened due to your familiarity of the town and this area since you dealt with it for your Robotics endeavors.

It certainly wasn't easy with many people being busy or not being quite forthcoming with needed info, but you gain a moderate-to-good understanding of the interplay among the scrap industry underbelly.

Out of the way of common sense to start with, most of the scrap inputs came from the Nellis outer perimeter and some of the parts of the base that were cleared of security systems to be safe to scavenge in. Other inputs outside the Nellis Base either came from trade from the Long-15 or other Mojave locals from other parts of Las Vegas to come and deal; primarily from Westside, Freeside, and on a occasion some communities that dined to live in the sewer systems of the Las Vegas metro and downtown.

Prospectors of course were the most important interaction the scrap-industry has, as they are a reliable source of goods with a constant supply stream that in other cases maybe sporadic.

Other details of interest that you gain some privvy to as that there are rumors that the areas of traditional scavenge are becoming thin nowadays with the outer parts of Nellis being picked clean and not enough Prospector outfits being brave enough to go deeper into Nellis.

One key individual in all this who was concerned was Vance Roscoe, one of the premiere tycoons of the scrap sector; who was also one of the Councilors as per the ordinance that all main players in the settlement had to be on the Town Council. Yes, you remembered that he raised this issue many times in various council sessions before, but you didn't pay much heed to it, disregarding it as boring politics. Maybe with your position as a secretary within the Council, maybe you'll have an easier time with him?

Another point of interest going around the workshop district here was a feud of some sort. Two rival firms were baying at eachother frequently due to the fact they both were situated at the very geographical limit of town and competition was ongoing between them for who gets the more incoming or outgoing traders visiting Nellis Outskirts.

One of the stores here keep reporting that their merchandise keeps vanishing. It seemed that they were the only site being targeted, because no one else were reporting similar incidents at all. It was going to a point where they may have to shutdown shop and move elsewhere.

You decide to go meet with Vance. Not only by the staple alone from being of the status to be admitted into the Council, as you noted before he was very influential in the overall macro of the scrap-industry direction. Going straight to him would be a good decision, if a starting one at that. You also were somewhat familiar to him since you worked as a secretary for the Town Council.

Getting to where he was located wasn't hard at all, considering his workshop and residence were one of the bigger buildings in town. Unlike the other structures, parts of it from the foundation and middle of it were actually made with masonry-stoned bricks. It was also 3 storeys, which were definitely more than the only 1 storey buildings around it. There were a few mid-rise buildings in this workshop district too, but Vance's building was still distinguished by the fact of the edifice design that wasn't just scrap metal.

You'd turn the corner of the perimeter wall of the building until you get to the front entrance gate. Looking around, you see one of the wall-beams has a buzzer, which you immediately press upon sighting it. A few minutes pass until you hear a sliding noise to the right of you, revealing a guard-kiosk in what seems to be an inner portion of the perimeter property wall. A man equipped in simple MK1 Combat armor greats you.

"Yes, hello?" The guard would query, "Do you have an appointment with Mr Roscoe?"

You'd shake your head, "Apologizes, I don't have one. This is just a small greeting I want to give Mr Roscue directly." You say to the guard.

"Ah, well I'm sorry. Mr Roscoe said he'd not like to be interrupted as of now." The guard tells you outright.

Lets not jump into using Dominate on such a wealthy/influential figure in town just yet. Or one of his employees. I think we should stick to doing things normally for now, try this option and just follow up on another lead while we wait for our chance to meet with Vance. We can practice Dominate on some random mooks in town where we won't be recognized, and will be without any rough consequences if we manage to botch the situation.

"When will the next available be if I may ask?" You query at the guard. You see him turn a little-ways into the kiosk and begin fudging around in a drawer that was to his side. After a while he then comes back up to the receiving part of the kiosk with a moderate-sized scheduling book.

"Today is Friday right?" He asks you while flipping the through the book.

You chuckle for a bit to lighten the mood, "Yeah, February the 2nd." You tell him matter-of-factly. A brief silence permeates the outside of the gate as you waited patiently for the guard to make an offer for an appointment .

Finally he comes to a conclusion, "The best the schedule says it can do for you is either February 11th or 19th." He says to you in a slight, but unsurprising blindslide.

You could definitely wait out until those times... but your sire was very vague about the incoming threat of the Vault 34 people or when they'd arrive to Nellis.. or WHY they were coming here; though you could think of a few reasons why. Disregarding these internal deliberances, you had to at least build up something a somewhat speedy pace. Waiting for such an appointment wouldn't necessarily be ideal..

>Proceed in registering an appointment to meet with Mr Roscoe, making sure its definitely at night

What would be the point of having this secretary job foisted onto you by your father if you couldn't use it to an advantage? Under the guise of insinuating that meeting Roscoe would be of some importance, you may be able to convince the guard to let you in... and technically it COULD definitely be a matter of town business considering Roscoe's current concern on the future stability of the scrap industry.

>[Exceptional Success]

You exert out a mock sigh while rubbing your neck, "Well you see.. I know he said no disturbances.. but it's kinda a matter regarding the town. I'm a clerical worker for the Council." You say to him. He raises a brow at this, but his face softens with something dawning to him.

"Oh? Are you here to speak to Mr Roscoe about the matter regarding resource pools?" He asks you, his hand hovering over a level to the side on his desk.

You nod casually, with the knowledge you definitely convinced, "Yes that particular matter at hand." You actually were somewhat invested in this despite previously disregarding it as boring politics before being set on this task by your sire. If prospecting opportunities dried up for Nellis Outskirts, the entire town would be in a crash that would be hard to recover from. Since his main objective was building up a powerbase here, he had to ensure stable and strong.. especially with the looming threat of your sire's nemesis.

Without delay you are let into the common-yard of the premises. The entrance was ornately designed of superior quality with a unique post-war architectural design. With Roscoe being so wealthy, it wasn't out of the realm of imagination for his residence/workshop to be designed as such.

You knocked on the door and waited. Then a servant girl opened the door. The first thing you looked at for her was her hair coloration; however it was blond, not raven colored, so she was of little feeding interest to you. "Yes, hello? Who am I speaking with?" She'd ask of you.

"I'm Franklin O'Hennesy, a Council worker. I need to speak with Mr Roscoe." You say without any delay. At hearing your last name coupled with being informed that you worked for the town, she let you in without no trouble.

She led you from the entryway room of the house to the living room. By post-war standards, the entire room was very well designed and furnished. Many salvaged art pieces line the room, a couple of displayed finished wares were in a display case, the lighting was dim; but still light enough where things were easily seeable. Equally salvaged sofas were at the center of the room. You walked over and sat in one of them.

"Mr Roscoe will be with you shortly." The servant girl says to you, walking across the living room to another hallway. A few minutes of waiting passed until finally you'd hear semi-heavy footsteps; until Vance Roscoe himself showed up. He was a middle-aged man, but he still oozed a certain tinge of youngness. He wore a brahmin-cloth sleeping robe that probably costed a fortune by how you can see it was well-designed.

He'd be surprised to see you, "Franklin?" He says aloud. "What are you doing here at this time of night?"

You wanted to ease Vance into a good being before discussing anything really important. You and him had a basic small-talk that lasted for a good 20 minutes. When you felt he was sufficiently talked into for a little bit, you'd move on to speaking about the business he was involved in.

Vance dawned a curious look, but he spoke nonetheless. "Nothing much to really tell about it. Scrap comes in from various places, people buy that scrap, then fashion it into something else or smelt down pieces of scrap together to make a purer-branch of non-disturbed metal." He says matter-of-factly.

He then carries on, "As you know, our town is practically based around scrap distribution and trade primarily. Other functional scavenged parts are also in the mix, but around Las Vegas need our stuff for building new houses or reinforcing old pre-war buildings." He says in a deep ponderance. "We also are at a good conjoinment at the helm of entry from Utah into the Mojave southwise; also a good last destination before heading out of Mojave into Utah directly."

"Business isn't without really any issue.. for now." He says with a tinge of frustration, "But nothing out of the usual is going on." He would finish.

You nod at what he was saying. He then perks toward you a little. "Say, why are you asking me in the first place?"

"Considering that in my heyday of tinkering with robots, the most business I did was with scrap businesses." You'd say to Vance, "It'd only be fair if I put some of that money it helped me gained back into it." You state with a good prose of reeling Vance in. "The thing I'm saying is that I want to shore-up some small or up-and-coming enterprises.. I'd like your advice. Or maybe putting some investment into yours."

He'd chuckle at hearing all this, but in an admirated fashion. "Yeah I understand you clearly, I can certainly help you with that.." He says, but ends off not too confident. Now was your time to delve into the sensitive topic.

"That's amazing!" You state with some pep, rousing Vance back into some awakeness. "Although, I've been hearing about.. potential scrap shortages? That doesn't sound too good." You finally lay on Vance.

He sighs somewhat, but recovers with a brief chuckle. "For months I've been levying the issue at the Council sessions.. I don't know how you heard it via rumor, am I that boring?" He asks you in a joking manner. You give an awkward chuckle since that WAS the practical reason why you didn't care before.

A brief contemplative silence enshrouds the room, before a realization dawns to Vance. "Say.. remember a few years ago when you disabled alot of the security systems in the Nellis Airforce Base itself, allowing in a whole new section of it to prospect from?" Oh, you knew where this was going.

"How about this; think of this deal, if you manage to disable more systems and open up newer avenues of the base, I'll pay 300 caps per acre of base cleared." He says to you.

It sounded like a good offer, if you wanted merely a job to do. But you wanted something more long-term... this was the type of old work you did when you were slightly more young, but not anymore. "I don't think that's a good idea, especially with how risky and deadly the actual on-site base is." You inform he respectfully. He seems all-ears to what you have to say.

"The initial incursion I did was very, costly in lives and equipment losses. The base is heavily inundated with various Assaultrons, Sentrybots, Mr Gutsies... this isn't even to mention the various automated turret emplacements strewn about the place." You say to him, hitting him with a reality-check monologue about the possibilities of taking out whole systems of Nellis AFB.

"...What I'm saying is if I'm going to take on another big risk like this, helping the scrap industry have more access to, well, scrap.. I want a major long-term stake in it." You finish saying to him. He'd cup and fan his beard at hearing your thoughts on the matter, having a deliberance in his own head. Finally he'd respond.

"Alright, how about this. My own enterprises in this district alone is vast, which is why I'm one of the top here and even on the Council. No one besides my family has shares in the business... you can be one of the first exceptions though, since I was considering of going open for awhile now. However in your case if you do this, you don't have to pay single cap for a share; unlike what I'm planning in general." He would lay to you. Good, you were reeling him in.

"What percentage are we talking about here?" You ask him. You had to be sure you weren't being taken advantage of, considering your mostly new to this.

"Considering the gravity of the situation?" Vance says to you, "About at 20% share. A little over the amount my youngest son has about in the business- 25%."

It was truly a large amount in scale of his holdings. Though could you push for more or should you leave it here, not wanting to risk some sort of fall-through.

You feigned thinking it over in your head for awhile, but you were already decided for now. "Deal." You respond to the Vance. He'd smile broadly, standing up and offering you a hand. Likewise you follow in standing up and give him a handshake.

The details of the deal were that from two days from now Vance will hire out a mercenary crew from Freeside, who will supplement and act as your security detail. On your end you'd have to prepare all the necessary tools and devices to begin the undertaking of gaining control of wide swathes of the Nellis Airforce Base, with of course with the previous provision that you'd be provided a security force. Recover about 25 acres of square feet of the base and the stipulations of the deal where you'd get your shares would be in effect.

This was good, since you had time to attend to other things, while having something in the trunk for the upcoming two other nights. You'd leave without any other delay with your business finalized with Vance. He has high hopes of you due to your natural aptitude with computers to some degree, and mostly Robotics aswell.

With that out of the way, there were many more avenues to explore in gaining more influence in Nellis Outskirts; the night was still young. However... hunger finally panged to you.. it hadn't before since your embrace since you were well succored, but now it was coming to the forefront. Before your specific palette seemingly materialized, when your sire taught you how to feed, you could feed from anyone.

Before doing anything further, you had to feed. Although as noted before, you had a specific type of mortal you had to feed from. Finding such a person in a town of only around 3,000ish would prove to be difficult.. You wondered if brown hair also counted.. but you didn't have the luxury of test-casing things despite your nature of scientific analysis. If all else fails, you MIGHT have to feed from some of the live-stock around here.. but you'll definitely regurgitate some of the drained blood as; A) its animal blood, yuck and B) the fact of your curse again only mandating drinking from raven-haired women.

>Head to the square area of Nellis Outskirts, see if you can find any visitors or travelers still up at night.

>Lay in wait at one of the alleys. Maybe the exact vessel your looking for maybe around here.

>Head to the bar. Even though you never put much thought into talking to females with your various studies in Robotics all the time, its worth a shot to try and seduce a woman so you can feed upon her.

>Head to the hospital, which your family owns. You haven't been in there awhile, so there must be some patients there.

>Even though it may take at least 4 hours of travel, head to Freeside where its a more loose and more populated. There your more likely to find the query your looking for

You decide to merely wait for your prey to come to you, like a trapdoor spider doing such a thing in the Mojave as you had often seen before. After putting some thought into it, you decide to wait in an alley in a part of town that favored some frequent traffic; but not alot as to get sighted when nabbing the vessel you needed. Now it was just a waiting game.. though you had some reservations on the likelihood of this popping off, considering you weren't necessarily the sneaky type.

Despite your initial misgivings, you settled in comfortably in the alley you choose to nestle in until an adequate prey would passby. To be honest you were completely nervous. The only time you fed previously was when your sire was with you to guide the way, his instinctive aura of inhuman confidence being instilled in you when you were at the moment of getting prey. Now you were alone in this; but you definitely couldn't falter in this endeavor.

It took a few good 30ish minutes give or take for the object of your waiting to finally come into view. Pitch-black hair now that you thought about it was somewhat common- but definitely not as much you'd like. However at this point peering out the alley corner at the most opportune time, you sight a women walking down the street. Raven-haired. You smiled.

You quickly peered back so she could not see you.

Thud

Thud

Thud

Her footsteps echoed on the asphalt. Finally she passed by the middle threshold of the alley where you could see her fully. She was dressed in common rag-robes that the lower class women of town wore. She was also carrying a shopping basket, evidencing that she may have came from the Strip Mall area of town. You quickly dived toward her. By the time she could even turn and scream, you already dragged her into the alley and sank your fangs into her delectable neck.

The phenomenon of the "bite" or "kiss" as you knew it caused an euphoric effect in the receiving victim; in another turn, it was also very pleasurable to you. The blood you drained coursed and warmed you when partaking in it. Indeed as the undead you were cold eternally; but you don't really notice until you drink from the blood of a vessel, the contrast of the heat of the drain and your body is too great- allowing you to notice.

(Ah, just to clear up; mortals who are fed from forget almost all the events of them leading up to them getting drained, the middle, and the after of it. However feeding from the same target over and over again will soften them up to the euphoria of feeding, much like how cocaine or meth addicts gradually become used to the effects of their drug neurological wise. Although I'm not against the option of having the woman being drained to death if everyone agrees with it.)

>mortals who are fed from forget almost all the events of them leading up to them getting drained, the middle, and the after of it
Literally no reason to drain her completely, then.
We lose out on one of the few people we can feed from in town, and a body drained of blood is a hell of a lot more suspicious than a woman waking up in an alley way feeling a bit woozy.
I glossed over this https://www.healthline.com/health/how-much-blood-in-human-body#howmuch-blood-can-you-lose
>If you lose more than 40 percent of your blood, you will die. This is about 2,000 mL, or 0.53 gallons of blood in the average adult.
This stuck out, would 40% be 4/10 units, or what?
I don't mean to wind up changing your system and over-complicating it just over 100 posts in on the first thread, however I'd prefer to avoid killing her due to the issues with that. Not needing to feed for a longer period of time isn't exactly worth the trade-offs.

You mentally grabbed ahold of yourself. As much as you wanted more, you had work to still do. You'd withdraw from the woman's neck ever so slightly, then licked the spot of the puncture site on her neck. For whatever reason as your master told and taught you, doing so instantly covered up such marks; so he drilled into you early on that in almost all circumstances, you must do this technique to hide your tracks... less the kine become suspicious or fearful of an "unnatural" presence about the locality you were operating in.

You semi-gracefully leaned the woman down against the alley wall. After that you leave it to carry on other tasks that needed to be done. The night was moderate, but soon enough dawn could probably arise.

(Last post for tonight. I'm tired and gotta hit the hay)

You walked for awhile through various footpaths and streets of town, wondering what to do next. It then dawned on you that you should probably gain or atleast add familiarity of yourself into the Nellis Regulator force. As noted a few hours from before, they were practically the "police" as you'd put it, but they were essentially just a low-cost and affordable for-hire city guard. Getting a foothold within that organization would definitely help your efforts of mounting control here.

Though you had to decide how exactly were you going to curry their favor.

>Assess how the general Regulator force for Nellis Outskirts acts or just gain some info on what type of operation they were running here.

>Simply head and speak with the chieftain- get to know him or parse out any problems they maybe dealing with.

>Go around town simply speaking to any Regulator you'd see, maybe getting some simple grassroot positive relations with the bulk of the force

>Head to your shack. Maybe you should build a Robot of some sort to supplement their force firepower

Maybe a way of getting an initial good relation with the local Regulator force would be a good idea to break the ice and then worm your influence into it after. You mulled over a few things and scenarios in your head, until you came up with a brilliant idea! .......You'll construct some Robots that'll just be for the Regulator force! It was perfect!

You quickly head back to your shack, walking through the chilly night; though it wasn't as if the cold affected you anymore. Brushing that particular away, you finally make it to your 1 room domicile, going inside without any delay. Since you just moved the shack would be sparse of most furnishings. The only prominent furniture were your workbench, a desk, and mattress with no stand; simply being directly on the floor. However as a means of your Vampirism, a rectangular human-sized shipping crate was on top of the mattress. It was essentially your "coffin" to ward off the sun for obvious reasons.

You walk up toward your workbench, then open a hatch next to it. In the hatch would been a myriad of Robotic parts and components that you hastily stuffed this small floor room with during the move. Ruffling through everything in the hatch-storage, you'd note that you seemingly had enough parts to create atleast 3 type of Robots of the same type.

You mulled over what you should make for the Nellis Regular force... Some will be easy to make in a few hours; while some may take some work now, then you having to Slumber to wait for the next night.

You decide that making a tri-batch of Assaultrons would be a good project to make for the Nellis Regulators. Not only would they be extremely agile and deadly in close combat, its head mono-eye laser would have an excellent punch in the event it'd have to supplement ranged fire with the force. Usually Assaultron construction would take months or years for the average layman, but you were essentially a studied professor on the knowledge facet of Robotics. It'll take you a few hours of this night and the next bits of the other night ahead, but you're certain you'll complete the Assaultrons in a steady and fast faction.

You had all the components and plating in your store hatch; along with the tools necessary to build them on your workbench and elsewhere. Aslong as you didn't do some sort of mishap, you're sure you don't need to acquire more resources for this project. Taking all these said tools, then taking out a few of the materials in your floor-storage beside the workbench, you get to work building the first Assault.

Your work is steady, but still done with enough controlled haste that you build much of the Assaultron in one go as you predicted. The first one was without much trouble as you toiled, emplaced, and structured in the components it needed. After building it up for awhile, you lifted up the frame of it from laying ontop of the workbench to side a little-ways from it; from there you continued on constructing it with ease. Finally with only 2 hours of work and putting in the last component, its mainframe, you were finished with the 1st Assaultron. You activated it briefly to check if its systems were intact and its motor-functions were as agile as it should be.

It seemed to be working without a hitch and you programmed it manually from the mainframe itself, so it wasn't hostile to you. When you'd be finished with completed the other two that will be next, you'll have to input more expansive parameters; which reminds you that you needed to get a terminal inside your shack as another furnishment.. You'll deal with that when your done however.

Despite making the Assaultron in record time, you could instinctually feel the night ending.. but you still had sometime left for maybe constructing a partial-finish of the second Assault.

>Continue construction of the Assaultrons. Though the shack has a scrap-metal based structure had many holes all about it.. sunlight definitely can get in.

>Head out for a time actually. You changed your mind and you wanted to acquire a terminal now instead of wating for the Assaultrons to be finished first.

>Before going off to Slumber, head outside in the perimeter around your shack and see if you can feed once again. You lived in a mid-dense area of town, so it might be risky and there would be the added hope that who'll your waiting for will have raven-colored hair

You rathered that you may aswell get all of what you need in one-go, for when you'll go back to doing the construction of the other two Assaultrons in the next night. Heading outside, but going back in quickly again after forgetting your satchel with a sum of your caps, you head to the Strip Market part of town. Most of the kiosks were already down and the shops you wanted to buy from the specialized in electronic goods were already closed. However you catch on stall owner packing up his shop for the night.

Walking up to him, he'd spot you approach, but went back to paying attention to packing up all the wares at his stall. "Sorry friend, but the shop's closed for now. Come back in the morning." Which was certainly something you couldn't do anymore..

"Actually, can I make a quick purchase? I need a terminal and a mini-energy cell powered generator." You'd see to the electronic stall owner.

He shakes his head, still packing up a few things. "Like I said, store is closed. Come back in the morning." He says neutrally.

While you could just wait until the next night and catch him at a better time, you wanted to get the terminal and generator you needed now. It'd be a good time saver to just get it now. Though you could see why the shopkeeper was reluctant to simply just deal; he was probably annoyed from being disturbed while packing. You guess a little persuasion will be in order to motion him to let you do business. However it might be a dosey since most of his stuff was already packed and he was near finished with the rest of the merchandise.

"Alright, what was it you wanted again?" He says to you.

Without much hassle after that, you brought the terminal and the small-sized generator you needed. The generator your easily put in your satchel and the terminal you just carried with both hands. You walked the street at an even pace, until you stopped at seeing one of your brothers approach you; it was Mikey. He waved to you as he approached.

"Yo, Frankie! What's up?" He says to you while smiling.

"Nothin' much, just the same old same old." You respond back to him, smiling in kind. He looks down at sees your terminal. He chuckles.

>>

(Sunlight damage is completely unsoakable (meaning it can't be blocked or mitigated) without Fortitude and does 3 points of aggravated damage per second. Since we're a Venture we automatically start with Fortitude 1 (the Discipline that adds to your base Stamina. It also allows you to soak aggravated damage, but it Stamina points can't be added to the soak pool), but that mere 1 would be abysmally small to a DC 10 of direct sunlight trying to soak it. Even then if you even soak it, within that next second (turn) you'd have to continuously roll for a successful soak.)

Though you still continue, "How about we meet-up at around 9:30 pm though? That's right around when I'm off." You planned to initially lead him along, but you decided to somewhat try and strike another plan of possible revelry.

He chuckles, "Yeah that sounds perfect actually." He mulls over something in his head, "Alright- Henderson won't be able to make it for the night, since he'll have to sleep early. He's heading going to head to Primm the day after for a job." He tells you.

"Though me and my other friends will of course be able to make it. We'll wait for by the outskirts of town, by Angel Flight Drive." He finishes to you.

"Sounds like you a plan." You affirm, nodding and smiling to Mikey.

(I decided to just merge both of the options really)

With that the both of you would part your ways for this almost ending night. Dawn was at the cusp, you could feel it. You admittedly put somethings in motion overall, but you were still a long way from carrying out the objective your sire laid for you. Sometimes you wondered where he went off to.. but you are sure you'll meet again in due time eventually.

You also wonder how exactly long you can still pull the wool over your family's eyes for how long. Though you shrugged that uneasy thought out your mind.. What you had to focus on was continuing gaining as much influence here as you can, atleast of means to defend Nellis Outskirts from these so called "Boomers" said to be coming over here.

Finally after some stint of walking, you make it back to your shack. You see the terminal ontop of your workbench to the side of it. Then you took out the generator and plugged it into the terminal. Testing it, it had seemed to work fine. Everything was in order for the next night.

You turned from the workbench and then opened the crate. This rectangler long crate.. was your only shield from total from the sun.. You have slept in it before, but doing so always gave you some anxiety. What if there was some hole you didn't account for? What if something generally something iffy happened with this crate? ....You however brushed all of this off and stepped inside the crate.

Now was the time for Slumber, not concrete deliberation.

The walk to the outskirts to town wasn't difficult at all and you made it in record time. Though maybe a tad bit too soon as you didn't see your brother or his friends anywhere. No one was around here at all, it was just presumably you entirely alone..

Before you could mull on about this further, you'd hear footsteps and instantly be on alert. Damn, you definitely needed to get some form of weaponry. By many Wasteland standards you were WAY too sheltered from the realities of this landscape. However as you watched more in the direction of where the footsteps were coming from, it was your brother and his friends turning a corner of a building and walking down were you were.

"Damn, your pretty early Franklin!" Mikey says to you. His friends in tow would give various manners of greeting to you and you replied in kind, before addressing Mikey.

Hm. Even though you didn't see anything, something still felt off. "Hey Mikey, you got a spare piece?" You ask him. He raises a brow.

"You don't have your own?" He asks back.

You chuckle a little weakly, rubbing your neck in awkwardness, "Nah, not really. I sold my own years ago." You say to him. "Didn't think I would need it."

He sighs. "Alright," he says while turning around. "You guys wait here. I'm heading back to my house." He'd say on the move.

His friends were pretty friendly with you and you learned all of their names. There were two girls, one guy. In order of naming; Sarah, Lisbeth, and Joey. They like you and your family were pretty high-class by Wasteland facets. Sarah's dad was part of the Regulators- which definitely was a good thing to know. Lisbeth's family were high-end Prospectors. You maybe suspected that they may have been associated with Hustlin' Finders, but you didn't prod any further. And then Joey's family were shopkeepers.

Before your conversations among yourselves could go any further, Mikey would return with a pistol in his hand. "Here," he says when he finally got to where you stood, "1911 .45 ACP." He would say, giving it to you. He then went into his pocket and gave you a holster.

"Thanks." You say to him. He shakes his head, while doling out a hearty laugh.

"Just don't shoot it all in one place. I don't have much ammo for that money. All the bullets for it are in that one magazine." Mikey tells you. You nod, strapping your holster to one of the belt-loops of your pants and then holstering the gun.

Without anymore delay, the 5 of you began walking. It took a while, but you and the gang made to the Great Basin Highway. Now all you head to do was tread on it until you'll reach into Vegas itself.

The idea of that weird feeling you felt when you were alone came to mind again. "Say, any of you guys felt anything weird tonight?" You'd ask the group. The others would look to eachother in confusion, trying to affirm in one another if that was the case.

"I don't really believe so." Sarah says to you. "Me neither." Joey adds in aswell. Mikey chuckles at what you said.

"Relax bro, it's only Freeside we're going to." He tries to console you; but really, Freeside wasn't what you were particularly talking about. You've been there sparsely before. "We're just going to go to a popular hang out- that's it." He continues. "All the kids around Las Vegas come to where we're about to go."

You raise a brow at this. "Kids? Mikey, I'm 25 and your 28." The group laughs at this. Mikey quickly revanches.

"W-wut! We're still pretty young! What're talking about Frankie?" You'd roll your eyes at this.

It took a few minutes, but you all finally arrived in Freeside. The first major characteristic of it was that it was WILD. More so probably than the Wasteland wilderness if you could lay down a single judgment. Music blared on almost every street. Abandoned or generally unattended child scurried about. Almost every 2nd or 3rd minute you heard strings of gunshots fire in some parts of the city; you never knew if it was close to where you were all walking or if it was further away. Prostitutes and the Prostitute-mongers; "Pimps" to say the least; clambered in different portions of the area. Unsavory thugs of all cloths and stalks leered at eachother and sometimes your group if we got too close.

Some of the residents to Freeside would be wearing more distinct attire, differentiating them as maybe being part of a tribe- though you didn't really understand the different between a gang and tribe..

As you continued to walk, you surmised all of you finally were at the place your brother wanted you all to come to. It was a moderate sized Square where a bunch of people would be concentrated in it. They were dancing, speaking around barrel bon-fires. To the sides of the Square a few alcohol stalls were open. A large radio in the center left part of the Square was blasting the Mojave Music Radio channel, which played all the pre-war classic musics. Although honestly you've heard them your entire life so it was nothing new to you, but the overall atmosphere was really great and exciting.

Mikey turns around to the four of you. "Alright, you guys have fun!" He yells over all the commotion. "I have to go speak with someone." Then he left into the crowd to wherever he was going. Lisbeth and Sarah crossed their arms together and went in another direction. Joey and you talked for a bit, but his attention went on a girl and he went to go speak to her.

Great, now you were relatively alone.

>Find out what Mikey is doing.

>Use this opportunity to feed a raven-haired girl to feed on. There is bound to be one in this huge crowd.

More connections back in town. Some here in Freeside wouldn't be bad, but with the threat looming on the horizon, we should focus on Nellis. A potential 'in' with the Regulators was just dropped right in front of us, we should do what we can to capitalize on it.
As for Mikey, I'm fairly certain he's probably getting into some trouble. If we still don't know what he's up to after we're done with this option, we should go looking for him.

After walking among the crowd for a few seconds, it dawned on you it'd be good to see and speak with Lisbeth & Sarah. It would be good to touch base with them, especially Sarah who told you back in town that her father was a Regulator. That particular aspect of town was what're focusing on for the moment.

Despite this square of Freeside you were in was only moderate in size, the sheer amount of people partying here was alot. It took a few minutes of looking, but you finally found were Lisbeth & Sarah was. They were sitting on one of the various park benches, drinking and chatting among themselves. Finally you decided to mention up to Sarah about details regarding her father.

"Oh my dad?" She says in response to your question. "Yeah, like I said before he's one of the Regulators back in our town." Sarah finishes.

You nod at this, "So how does the Regulator system.. work exactly?" You ask her, hoping to get some useful tidbits of information to use later. Sarah at hearing this would raise a brow.

"How are you on the Town Council, but not know how our town security functions?" She'd playfully jest at you. You and Lisbeth chuckled simultaneously at the same moment.

"Uh, yeah, I'm more of the books-paperwork guy. Not really what I manage." You say to her truthfully. "And the firm your father works for is basically private.. so we have no real inner knowledge of it." You state to Sarah while shrugging.

"Ah, that's right, I forgot... Honestly they've been contracted so long to Nellis Outskirts I thought've them as actual town guards." She says wistfully. However she quickly snaps out of it and tells you what she knows about it; though admittedly even she doesn't know that much.

Around the Mojave are "Regulator" or basically private security firms all throughout the Mojave. They aren't necessarily mercenaries because the contract stipulations and provisions are different; Mercenaries only work for how long they are paid and more transient, while Regulators are more set to once place and more loyal with actual ethics.

...It wasn't much of what you wanted, but it was something atleast.

You and the girls kept talking idly, until a bunch of mean looking thugs came to your side. You ignored them intentionally and tried to keep talking, but the girls looked afraid. You turned to the man infront of the group, brow raised. "Can I help you?" You ask him.

The group was armed, but in the same breadth as you; all pistols of different models and make. They also wore just plain brahmin clothes and attire, presumably weren't armored at all. They were just common Freeside Thugs.

"You don't look your from around here." The lead Thug of the group would say.

>"Who's asking?"

The lead Thug chuckles while shrugging, "Dunno anyone in particular." He says. "I just wanted to c'mon see you folk." He looks at Lisbeth and Sarah sitting on the bench. "Say, these girls for sale?" He asks you. Both of the girls would like horrified.

"No." You say matter-of-fact and firmly to the very disrespectful thug. The rest of the Thug in tow behind the leader, 3 of them to be exact, laughs and mocks your "No." in unison. After they were done, the lead Thug would speak up again.

"Everything has a price.. why is this merchandise off the table?" He says pointing at the girls behind you. You shrug in a neutral and calmed manner.

"They just aren't." You tell him. At this his face slowly turns from mocking smile, to a low grimace.

"Tsk. I tried to be nice to ya, but it seems you don't want to play ball." He exclaims in a low angried voice. No one made to draw anything yet, but the tension was mounting in deed. You wondered why these Thugs even singled the three of you out in the first place or how they knew you weren't local to Freeside.

>Try and talk them down with just some plain persuasion.

>Attempt to draw first and light up as much as you can.

>Try and use Dominate on him to leave you all alone.

Dont give time to move of another foot to us or the girls. Be ready with pistol and dominate. Maybe is a good idea to shoot them regardless. Common thugs have no one with them beside their own, nobody would be angry at their deaths.
If one of them as raven hair we could drain him of blood.

(Theoretically we can only feed on females with raven hair- but the thing is we never tried feeding on men before.. so with some testing we MAY be able to feed on males, though they have to have black/raven hair. Your eyes take on a mild, but imperceptible flash. "I don't know who are or what exactly you want, but you need to leave." You say to the lead Thug in a low voice.

He stared at you for a few seconds; maybe as a measure to save some face infront of his crew.. but something in him stirred him to just walk away.. He didn't know what the feeling was, but he felt completely compelled to just leave as the man asked him too. "...Alright.. we'll go." He says backing up slightly.

The other of his crew would be entirely surprised. He'd look back at them. "Well, what the hell are you staring for?" He asks them. "We're at of here. This guy is no fun." He tells as he walks. They'd watch him walk forward down a lane out of the square, look back at the three of you reluctantly, then begin to follow their leader.

"Wow! You're amazing Franklin!" Lisbeth says in excitement. Sarah nods in agreement, "Yeah, that was totally rad!"

You simply rubbed your head awkwardly. "Oh, its nothing really." You assure them. "I can be very forceful it need be." You finish saying.

With that taking place, Sarah and Lisbeth's opinion of you went sky-high. They were more intentive in your discussions with the both of them. You all talked for atleast a few minutes about various subjects about the town and some miscellaneous minor things, but most of the time, the conversation kept going back to how you talked down that Freeside Thug from leaving you three alone.

"Alright girls, I'm going to check around here a little." You say to them while pointing your thumb over your shoulder to emphasize. The girls groan in a mock-sad manner, which you laugh to. "Don't worry, I won't be long." You finish saying.

Waving goodbye, you begin to pretend you to mill about throughout the square. When you felt enough time had lapsed, you began to head down the lane the Thugs went down. You only waited for awhile to not rouse the girls any further, best they not see or get involved further with the harsh side of Freeside.

The Thugs were pretty far out, but within good time you came into sighting them walking some ways far ahead of you on the sidewalk. They walked listlessly, occasionally shaking down whoever got near them. They however avoided anyone who was more heavily armed than them; say for example, armed with stuff like SMGs or outright rifles. They definitely seemed quite low-tier, so you definitely weren't afraid of them at all.

Finally you'd find them sitting idly at the steps of a ramshackle pre-war mid-rise apartment building. They didn't see you because they were across the street and you were watching on the other end, far away.

Putting your hands in your pockets, you'd loiter at the area of the street you were at nonchalantly. You did this because you didn't want to move too abruptly to where they'd notice. After simmering for a few minutes, you then turn then walk, turning into an alley to get to the other side of this block. From there you would begin attempting to talk to some of the folk around here. Though you soon realize with the basic nature of Freeside, people here aren't as nice as your hometown nor even trustful of eachother in this anarchic city. Though your somewhat sure that you'll might be able to learn a few things or two about your current query.

It was somewhat difficult. Most of the old people were entirely unreceptive to any means of you trying to talk to them. Groups of girls who probably were traveling in numbers for safety reflexively moved from you even if you got slightly near. The stray children running about weren't of any use, since obviously they wouldn't know much of the "gang" ongoings of this area... yet.. or maybe even as children they did know a few things; however they ran too fast all over the streets and roads, so you couldn't or didn't bother to catch up with them.

It only left you to speak with a couple of other guys around here. You made sure to seemingly speak with some individuals who did shady business, but were the honest types still- the ones who did what they do for the sake of getting by. After going around, making small talk, then talking about those Thugs you learn a bit about them.

They're basically a riff-raff, not even a major or somewhat known gang. From what you also learn, they seem to specialize in the gangstalking and harassing racket of things. They also did a side of kidnapping on rare occasions; of which the people you asked in the first place weren't happy about that, because their actions effect everyone since gang warfare is more or less neighborhood based. Even people involved with no gang activity get in the crossfire due to that.

So they specialized in harassment and gangstalking huh.. Was that the reason why you, Sarah, and Lisbeth were singled out back at the square?

>Head back to your discreet spot in the street and continue to watch them.

You decide that you might aswell head back to square where everyone else was. These Thugs were just a dime-a-dozen in this massive urban jungle called Freeside. Though you are sure you can return later under different circumstances in the near-future.

You turn and backtrack all the way to the square where people were still partying and socializing among eachother. You try to find some of your friends for minutes, until one-by-one every would be here. Joey would be extremely tipsy and unstable from all the drinking, while Lisbeth and Sarah were more or less the same because they didn't drink alcohol that much. Mikey was perfectly fine too.

He'd look around the assembled group of the 4 of you, "You guys ready to head back home?" He asks everyone. The others seem indecisive- especially Joey, who thinks he's not that "drunk" but actually is. It basically informally falls on you to decide what the next course of action the group is.

>Lets begin heading back to Nellis Outskirts.

>Lets continue partying here in the square.

>Before we leave lets see if any of the stores are still open.

"Alright, lets go home." You lay onto Mikey.

Joey was a little more hesitant, making excuses on why you should stay some more. In the end you and Mikey convinced that it was time to go. You all left the square and began walking through Freeside to head back to walk on the Great Basin Highway.

"So, did all of you had fun?" Mikey asks aloud, hands behind his head while walking casually.

Lisbeth laughs, "Yeah it was definitely a fun night." She says blissfully. "It certain was an interesting time." Sarah also says soon after aswell. Joey's wobbly inebriation state was enough to speak for itself. You were allotted the task of giving him the support to lean on so he wouldn't just pass out in the wastes.

"Yeah, it was pretty good." You also add in. There was a brief silence as you all kept walking, but something gnawed at you. "Say Mikey, where did you go while we in Freeside?" You ask him.

He chuckles, "Nothing much, just had to see a girl I'm a little involved with." He informs you. Interesting, Mikey had a girl interest. You and a somewhat conscious gained Joey from inebriation began teasing Mikey all throughout the travel to Nellis Outskirts. You all laughed, joked, and simply talked idly throughout the whole time walking.

Finally you all make it back to the perimeter of town. Everyone said their goodbyes to eachother one-by-one. Mikey was the last to walk away, turning to you. "Hey thanks again for actually coming out for once." He says to you in a mocking tone.

You give a mock shrug in return, "You're weclome." You say to him with a smile. He shakes his head while chuckling.

"Next time we'll have to bring Henderson. Then we'll be a complete brother musketeer force." Mikey states with an equal smile on his face. You just laugh at this and wave Mikey goodbye as he turns and begins walking deeper in town.

Since the big day of going to the Nellis AFB site itself is going to take place the next night from here, you supposed it'd be best to atleast prepare your tools or devices for it. Last time years ago when you went the Nellis AFB site itself, you definitely weren't prepared for it at all. Now you won't make the same mistake.

You head to the Strip Market of town and begin buying everything that you need; wrenches, screwdrivers, voltmeters, drop-cords, hammers, pliers; you had all these things before already, but you wanted to double or triple up mostly for the sheer fact some equipment maybe lost or damaged while at the base. To carry all this you also bought a dufflebag of course. Next of course, you stocked up on a bunch of scrap metal. Never knew when you'd need to do any immediate repairs. Everything was in order by the time you were done buying what you needed.

As you were heading back to your shack to drop your dufflebag off, you hear a voice call out to you. "Mr O'Hennessy." You'd hear from behind you, causing you to turn your head. It was one of the town workers, Mr Hidka.

"Yes?" You ask of him as he approaches.

He walked down the street some more until he was near enough for conversation, "You haven't been in back at the Town Council building at all lately. You have been undone assignments and audits." Mr Hidnan says to you. "I just noticed and wondered what was going on."

He seems to buy what you're saying for the most part, nodding. "Well I hope whatever "field work" you're doing is very important." Mr Hidnan states with a hint in frustration. "As a small town, we don't have much in the way of administrators and you being absent is a noticeable tool." He says to you plainly.

You'd keep a neutral smile and overall expression while nodding, "I completely understand that. I'll get back to desk work... soon." You say not at all too truthfully. Mr Hidnan raised a brow, but ultimately turned back down the street where he was initially going before seeing you.

The truth is you really loathed the secretary desk work. The only reason why you were in the position you were in because your father "pulled some strings" to get you into it. Though in hindsight it might be a good thing since you're already in at the seat of town government in some shape or form.

Continuing on you finally make it in sight of your shack. When you were right at the door, you heard a strange humming notice.

....

That was odd.

Slowly you pushed your shack door open. You'd the 1st Assaultron that you constructed was active.. and the whole of you single-room shack looked like someone intruded here; but they seemingly didn't get far since the Assaultron automatically turns on at the detection of intruders.

As you looked around the room however, you saw no signs of a scuffle or a fight- no laser marks, no claw indentions around the room that would've come from the Assaultron.. no blood, nothing.. Though nothing in your shack was taken too, however. How did any possible intruder come in but wasn't detected by the Assaultron? What did that mean?

>Brush it off and continue to work on your Assaultrons.

The first thing you did was to go up to your Assaultron. It didn't attack you of course, but it was active... you distinctly remembered that you turned it OFF. As a matter of fact you didn't turn it on at all this entire night, the only time you did was yesterday. You quickly shut it off and begin observing around your shack..

Your crate "coffin" was wide open. The lid seemed to be flipped over on the floor- you surmised that the impact of it doing so may have booted up the Assaultron from sheer motion sense alone.. but if someone opened your crate so blatantly, they would've been either fried or lacerated by the Assaultron. How did POSSIBLY activate it through its intruder-detection subroutine and not have that fate..

Besides the crate, that was the only thing disturbed basically. Your workbench was fine. Opening your storage hatch revealed all your parts and materials were still fine. Turning on your terminal, nothing seemed to be tampered with.

This was... odd, to say the least.

>Check up on your neighbors and ask them if they seen anything suspicious.

The slight pang of hunger claws to you, but you deign to focus of trying to figure what exactly was the strange anomaly that was in your home. You set your dufflebag by the workbench and head outside the shack. The front patch of the shack was seemingly okay of anything strange.. but you attempted a closer look to find any discrepancies. You definitely weren't crazy; SOMETHING had come into your shack and it didn't just vanish into thin-air.

Well looks like you were kinda right, someone WAS around here. In portions of your lawn you'd see the ever slight of foot indentations in the ground. They aren't detailed at all however and the trail ended when the footmarks went to the asphalt of the street. You try to look around some more, but you don't really get an other clues.

You decide to more or less do the samething as you did the night beforehand. However you don't go to the same alley in the other area that you were in last time. This time you decided to go into an alley that was by the pre-war bus stop shelter. Of course no buses were even in operation anymore, but sometimes people around town just like to sit inside the shelter just to take in the night.

Besides the bus stop shelter, this part of town was slightly frequented, but not high traffic enough to be of particular concern of being caught. You laid silently in-wait in the alley. Hopefully the prey you were looking for wouldn't take long.

It seems your hypothesis was too correct about this area in regards to traffic. A long time passes as you wait somewhat impatiently in the alley. The immediate area to the side of it is dead silent, all there being was the bus stop shelter, the in-operated pre-war street lights, and a outdoor benches. It almost like a couple more ages would pass, but finally someone of note came by.

It was a woman who was wearing a basic pre-war dress and attire. She had seemed to be one of the high-end people around town, but you didn't know her; of course you didn't, its not like you could know EVERYBODY, atleast people who weren't well known. You peered at her age and its was brownish-black... close? Could it work?

She was quickly approaching by the alley you were waiting at.

>Feed on her.

>Growl, but wait until someone with full raven hair approached by this area.

You wanted to see to her more up close before pouncing.. or maybe not at all depending on what you learn of her or how the conversation pans out. Quickly before she'd see you come out the alley (because you immediately coming out right as she would be by it would be suspicious), you'd step out of it quickly and lean against the wall beside it in a cool manner, as you were just sight seeing the night.

When she finally gets close enough, she sees you as she approaches, but then looks away. Looks like you'll have to initiate conversation first. "Hey, how's it goin'?" You ask her innocently.

She gives a neutral smile, "Ah, hello." She says while continuing to walk. She was a busy type of woman you distinctly noticed about her.

"Hey, what's the rush? Can we talk for a sec?" You beckon toward her. She'd turn around quickly with a not too amused face.

"Do I know you?" She says in a slight anger.

>Use Presence to sway her down to speak to you

It wasn't something you have tried yet, but now you wanted to use the other Discipline your sire taught you. He said along the lines that Dominate was the hammer, but Presence was the snake that was more quiet and akin to a feather. Releasing it, Presence that was, was a rolling wavelike motion that expanded and shifted outward from your body in an imperceptible aura.

You chuckle, with a little tinge of devilishness. "Why so mad? I just want to speak to you for a little."

{Franklin uses Presence o: 1 Vitae expended}

{Vitae: 10 - 1 = 9/20}

Using Presence unlike Dominate seemed to take from your Vitae. That made sense to your as you felt more confident and somehow.. radiated. The woman's face before you softened instantly at the coy of your words and you knew she was putty in your hands.

>[4 Successes, Exceptional]

"I- I'm sorry Mr.." She says remorsefully. "Its just that I came back from work and I was really tired." She explains to you. A brief silence overtakes the area, before she speaks up again, "What was it you wanted to talk about?"

You and her talked at a length for awhile. Her name was Aubri Sosa and she worked at an office for one of the minor Prospecting firms in this town. Besides that, she didn't talk about anything all to important but that tidbit interested you greatly. You went along with the small talk for awhile, before going back to what she did for work.

"So you said you worked for a Prospector group?" You ask of in a seemingly casual manner.

She sighs, "Yes, I do. Though I don't why I even bother to work at such a place." She would look around a little before talking to you further, "Don't tell anyone but the scrap around here?" She pauses mid-sentence for affect. "Is basically drying up."

You already knew this, but allowed her to continue talking. You wanted to see her perspective on the matter.

"The fact is our personnel are only picking at the fringes and too many other people are in the sector around here." She continues, "Going into the Nellis AFB itself is suicide, no one is stupid or foolhardy enough to do it." She says to you. "Our group is so small compared to the major ones we're basically at huge deficits.."

You nod at what she regaled to you, "I see.. sounds troubling." You console to her. "What position are in exactly?"

She chuckles, "Oh I'm basically an Organizer, essentially middle-management." You give her a smile, somewhat intrigued and also thinking in the background of your mind.

This woman could be useful... Though you don't really know how you'll make use of her exactly. Though she'll definite make a good contact..

You talk to her for awhile more before driving the conversation back to the scrap situation. "Yknow, actually, I forgot to mention this." You say, drawing her attention more than it already was, "But me and a security team are actually going to try opening up some more parts of the Base."

At hearing this, seeing immediately perks up. "Really! How!" She mildly yells out. You chuckle at her excitement. She catches herself quickly however, blushing a little bit, "U-uh sorry about that." She says embarrassed.

You clasp her arm gently, "No need to worry about it." You say to her gently. A silence goes on in the area for a little while, with you mulling over something in your head. "Say.. can you manage to send a few guys to come with us?" You ask her, to which a big smile crunches across her face. "You'll be one of the first Prospector groups to get first dibs on whatever you find."

"Yes, yes, yes!" She would outburst again. This time however Aubri doesn't apologize and she sets out to hug you. You accept it, but not for long; as the mere sent of her neck so close to you makes you... hungry, but you needed to concentrate, if only for awhile.

"But wait, whatever you find- let me get a cut of any products you recover from the base." You tell her. May as well exploit this scenario.

She immediately nods forth-comingly. "Of course, of course!" She says with pure happiness. "Wait, could you come to our company's office? We can fill out the paperwork now you want to."

She more or less continues to smile, "Of course, I'm an a direct Organizer. Part of my job is laying out possible runs and the means it gets done." She tells you. "If there is a mean, I have to do account for it."

You nod, finally smiling brightly aswell. This went down swimmingly. The both of you continued to talk for awhile. She told you her address in town. When she asked you where you lived, you just told her you were in transition. In other cases where you didn't have this woman cobbled up with Presence, she'd probably be very angry for you knowing her address, but you not being reciprocal in information.

However of course you finish up the small talk and she continues down the street; only this time more cheerfully than you initially seen before speaking to her. This was not what you wanted, but a welcome thing that happened to you. Now you had an associate that you can cultivate further...

This was all fine and dandy, but hunger still beckoned for to you. Though it isn't like Aubri had black hair anyway, she had brunette hair. Not really your palette.

Can't we just do blood drives or pay people for "specific blood types" at the hospital? It would make things soo much easier and convenient for us.
>>
>>4571114

(You definitely can. Though you'd have to ensure the blood being taken is from black-haired and female donors though. People say the Venture curse isn't rough, but it pretty much is.)

After mulling over what to do next, you decide to head to the "Gecko Shack". The bar was by the common square, but a few blocks away from it. It was the only bar in town and it was likely to maybe have who you needed to feed on, especially with a bunch of non-resident Wastelanders probably patronizing the establishment.

When you finally get to front of the building, you'd already hear the boisterous hollering and music blaring from inside the location. Getting inside you'd see a bunch of things happening at once; people ball-dancing in the center to Johnny Guitar, a few playing at various gambling tables, another bunch drinking straight at the bar counter, and just a random amount of people walking all through the bar.

Some faces you recognized from throughout town already, some were as you suspected; non-towners. Now you just had to find your right query..

>Head to the Bar counter directly and look for any black-haired women drinking there.

>Head to the center and see if a black-haired woman doesn't have a partner to dance with.

>Check the gambling tables, see if any are either observing or playing.

>Head back outside and lean against the outdoor front wall of the bar. Wait patiently until someone of your feeding description leaves the bar and follow them.

There are so many weird things and stuff people do in the wasteland and in fallout that asking specifically for black haired female blood donors isn't that weird to lets say a deathclaw and a mutant walk into a bar run by a robot and kid. There is no punchline.

>Head to the Bar counter directly and look for any black-haired women drinking there.
>>
>>4571272

With the influx of people in this bar, nobody really takes heed of you. In other times when it would be less active, you'd be sure they definitely would. Luckily that wasn't the case as of now. You meander up to the bar while trying to ensure you don't bump into nobody. When you get there you don't take a seat, but just lean on a nearby beam. If you got too close to the bar and the bartender asked you for a drink and you declined, it'd look suspicious. 'Why did you come up to the bar in the first place' he'd probably ask... or maybe you're just overthinking things.

You peered the bar counter for awhile; it was pretty lengthy, which made sense considering this was the only waterin' hole in town. Finally you peered upon just the woman you were looking for. She didn't seem innocent, though she definitely didn't seem too crafty to see through your guiles. Time to pounce on your prey..

You didn't immediately lean off the beam at all, you just kept your arms crossed and continued to stare at the woman. This was done on purpose and did exactly as you baited; she looked at you, blushed, then turned back again to continue drinking her beer. That was when you walked over to her exact seating at the bar and elbowed the counter whimsically, and peer directly at her. She tried to ignore you at first, but obviously something had to be addressed.

"What the hell do you want?" She says to you in half confusion, half frustration.

The woman was very hard to crack initially as you suspected; though soon as you broke the barriers piece-by-piece, she was straight into your full gusto. It only took a few more minutes until you walked out of the bar with her in tow, her arm wrapped around yours. Damn, before you.. become this.. becoming a "Vampire" that is, you weren't really good with girls that much. Now you operated like you were a damn natural.

"Let's go somewhere private.." You quietly tell her.

You take her to the alley of the bar, then to the very back of it. This area was near the square of the town, so it was more dense; that means you definitely had adequate cover to feed peacefully.

You peered into her eyes and leaned in for a "kiss". She leaned into in response, closing her eyes. You used that split sick to dive your teeth straight into her neck.

>>4571332

>[3 blood consumed]

{Vitae: 13/20}

You drain her for a good 12 seconds top. Just enough to get few hearty pints of blood, but not too much where she'd get too much euphoria to become too wobbly. You pulled out your fangs so fast and licked the punctures, that to her it just felt like a very unusual, but pleasurable lick across her neck. She peered at you a little dazed, but you kissed her just to keep the act.

When you pulled back from her and walked her back to the front of the bar, you said your goodbyes and went down the left street. Normally most woman picked up from the bar expect atleast a one-nighter of somesort, but the sheer euphoria the bite you give ensures that the women is slightly confused, but overall satisfied from what she thought was a "kiss".
—————————————

You were walking on a path near where all the ranches in Nellis Outskirts were. As such with desert regions, not much grass grows- but when they do, people use these few patches for husbandry than farming since farming has more field intensiveness to it. Everything seemed to be in order, until up ahead on the path you had seen a bunch of other residents all in a circle over something. The most prominent in the small crowed was a very angry Rancher with Beretta 1301 wielded. What the hell was going on here?

>>
>>4571346

Going up to where the crowd is you ask the nearest person what was going on. The crowd here was small, but it was so dense to what it was looking at that you couldn't see what was being sighted. A middle-aged man turned to you.

"Seems like some animal killed Aldo's Bighorner." He says to you with some amusement. It didn't really seem like anything important to you, so you near turned to leave until you'd see Aldo himself yell out loud; who was the rancher in question to be exact.

"I sen' it with direclty! It was a nightstalker I say!" He bellows across the assembled crowd. You continued to leave until he said something else.. interesting, "Look at its neck! A nightstalker was drain' it dry right before my eyes! It was invisible and everythin'!"

..Drained.. alive? Zoology wasn't really your specialty since your main focus was Robotics and Robotic systems.. but you knew Nightstalkers didn't drain blood for sustenance.. They were half rattlesnake, so they gobbled their food whole; biting if anything else was for tearing out chunks to make eating more larger prey easier..

The only thing of your knowledge that consumed blood for sustenance.. was other Vampires.. You of course didn't tell any of the crowd this, though.

You walked up and this time began gently pushing away people. One man got aggravated at this, "Hey, who the hell do you think you are?" He says to you.

You continue walking but still respond, "I'm a town official, let me see this." You say to him, but also loud enough so people can clear a path. As they did you'd see what everyone else had seen.

The Bighorner was completely pale around the unfurred part of its body; which was its face. You knew this because usually Bighorners had very red skin- this one as you said before looked like a ghost. At a rough estimate where its neck was, two holes were apparent outright. They weren't like the ones you made- these seemed to be made in desperation and sheer monstrousness....

"You see!" Aldo would tell to you directly this time, presumably due to hearing your with the town. "Nightstalkers are in the town perimeter!" He'd yell at you.

You knew this wasn't Nightstalkers. It was something worse; one of your kind... but you didn't exactly know because Venture as your sire put it.. were undead of refined tastes. Even though you weren't snobbish or necessarily "nobility" as your sire thought you were just because you were a more well off Wastelander.. you knew instinctively no Venture would dine from animals.

Who the hell was here.. in your town?

>Ask Aldo some questions about the "nightstalker".

Take him somewhere a little more "descrete" so he can mourn the loss of his cattle, and so we cant talk to him in private. People should eventually start leaving on their own.
>>
>>4571430

You would walk a little separate distance from the overall crowd, then turn around, "Nobody worry here. The town will deal with Aldo's dead livestock." You say aloud. After that you went over to Aldo directly. "Sir, can we talk for a moment?" You say to him, nodding your head to the side to a more out of the way area.

He takes the memo, grapping the strap of his Beretta 1301 and wrapping it at his shoulder. After the two of you got to even area, he'd begin balking and saying many things at once. You quickly calmed him down however. Once he does, you begin asking him questions.

"Now, you said to me that you saw a nightstalker attack your Bighorner?" He nods fervently.

"YUP! And it was huge too!" Aldo says to you in a confused excitement. "It turned invisible like they always do as soon as I saw it." He continues. "By the time I went to my house to get my shot'tie, it was already around." He says with a growl.

Hm. So whatever you were dealing with can turn invisible... That's the reason why your shack was intruded but your Assaultron couldn't register anything.. It could also doubly be ruled out that what DID rummage through your home definitely wasn't human; because if it was a human, then even with a Stealth Boy being used, the Assaultron would detect the heat signature. Vampires though, didn't have such.

You'd turn your head back to the dead Bighorner. Everyone left as you thought they would. Hopefully the information about the Bighorner incident doesn't spread to fast- though as far as most people know, it was just a nightstalker attack.

You turn back to face Aldo, "Thank you for your time Aldo. The town will definitely solve this problem." You say to him. It certainly was a problem were going to have to deal with. With that, you left the field back onto the street.

That way, we can "eat food" normally and not have to vomit it all back up so soon.

Fair point on them knowing what we are. We really need to place the crate somewhere less odd, like off ouf the mattress for starters? We could push it up against the wall and leave the bed unoccupied, or at the lead place a blanket and pillow on the bed so people think we actually use it.

"Hey Dad-" He cuts you off.

"Where have you been all this time?" He asks you with a raised brow, arms bent and hands on his hips.

You shake your head while chuckling. "I've been busy with work, you should know that by now pops." You say to him. By the look on his face, he doesn't seem to believe you.

"I've spoken to other workers at the Town Council building and many have said you haven't been there lately." He responds back. Now he would have his arms crossed instead of gripping his hips.

You balked for a bit, but easily recovered, "I've been doing field work." You half-truth, half-lie to him. "As a matter-of-fact, I'm doing a job now."

His expression softens a bit, but he still questions, "But you're a secretary. You should be writing out documents and reviewing papers back at the Town Council."

Damnit, he caught you there. "..I just feel my work for the town would be better served doing more "hands-on" work." You inform him. Another half-truth, half-lie; but you seriously needed to get out of this quickly.

"Hmm... You COULD be a general worker for the council... but we can't leave our dynamic standing here." He pauses for a moment. "You know that right?"

You sigh impatiently, "Yes, yes dad... I know."

With that you'd turn to face the street again and begin jogging once more to your shack. You'd have to somehow figure out how to get out your secretary job; and into something more "prestigious" to please your father.. He always was the harshest to you because you out of the 3 of your brothers was the more successful and intelligent...

You brush this idle thought out your head as soon as your shack gets in view. Speedily opening the door, you quickly turn on your Assaultron. Before even thinking to set it out side, you plug in a data-cord and program it to only attack when you attack; or if something attacks you. An Assaultron on base settings with only basic friendly protocols attacks everything in sight... which wouldn't be good since you're about to take it half-way through town.
—————————————

You and the equally fast Assaultron breeze through the town. You made sure to take the less frequented pathways, but no matter what atleast a few people saw you with the Assaultron. Though with your reputation as a resident Roboticist hopefully mitigated questioning- but it was still weird you were operating an Assaultron at this time of night while running presumably.

Finally you'd make it back to the ranch area part of Nellis Outskirts again. The Bighorner body was moved, seems as if Aldo already went to dispose of it of course.

....

Besides that, you don't even know where to or what clues to get to find this thing.

>[Franklin gains a point in Investigation]

It takes you awhile. Didn't help that whoever this is was damn good at being sneaky and that it can apparently turn invisible. You almost gave up, until you finally spotting a very big disturbance in the grass. "Finally!" You say aloud. The Assaultron next to you looks in your general direction with a slight head bob. It was confused.

You chuckled, "Just c'mon, follow." You commanded it. You kept following the disturbance, until up the ground it formed more and more into somewhat concrete footsteps to trail-down. Jackpot.

Now you and the Assaultron were jog-running like you were back in town. Though as the footprints became more denser, you trailed more slowly. The path was leading to the side of a cliffy terrain. As you and the Assaultron kept going a cavern entrance could be sighted.

"So.. is this where its nesting?" You say quietly.

Something wasn't right however.

Huh. Must've been nothing you though. You continued wal-

crunch

....

You quickly turned your head. To the left side of you and the Assaultron was a man in the common brownish-gray brahmin hoody. You were about to ask him what was he doing here, until you looked a little more down and saw he had a 9mm drawn. He saw you look down and peered what you were looking at; his gun of course.

At the sametime your heads both looked eachother straight in the eyes in a full deadlock.

{Franklin uses Dominate o: 3 Successes vs Greaser's Willpower 2}

The straight peer into his eyes by your more piercing ones and the command you give instantly compels him to obey. The 9mm pistol that was in his grip falls to the ground with a loud bump, but he let it out of his hand just in time before your Assaultron was about to charge up it's head mono-beam.

The man was frozen in place, fear marred deeply on his face. A great foreboding silence would encompass the outdoor night air. You waited for him to say something, but he was too frightened. Guess you have to make the first move...

>Ask him who is and what he's doing here.

You continue to bore your eyes upon the man with a staunch grimace. For good measure for him to not do anything funny, you unholster your pistol and point it at his midsection. Your turn your head slightly to see if your Assaultron will react, but thankfully it just stares at the man infront. You then back to look at the man.

"Who the hell are you?" You start with. "And why are you here in my town?" You ask him.

He would mumble and stammer, "I-I'm a Greaser." He says to you plainly, as if you'd know what that was at all.

"A what?" You ask him roughly. "I don't know what that is."

He would hesitate for a little. "Its a gang.. w-we-... we base in the sewer systems." He stammers out. Sewer systems? He must've been talking about in Las Vegas itself. If it was in the local sewer system him, you'd know about that.

"Why are you here?" You ask him. This time he's not talkative at all. "Well?" He still doesn't answer; he just continues to give you that same fearful look.

Then all of a sudden he dives straight for his gun. As soon as he motioned for it, a beam whizzed passed your ear and in an instant the lowly gangster was vaporized in seconds. You stood there looking over the sizzling ash pile. Why did he reach for the gun, even though it would be exact suicide? Usually gangsters.. men like him.. would just surrender easily to save their own hides... but this one? ...Strange.

At that exact moment after mulling over the thought, from the mouth out of the cavern you would suddenly hear running thuds that begin going into the desert. When you turn to look, you see a rough outline of what it is.

Its trying to get away!

You break a vast run to the source of where you see the outline. Distinctly behind you, you'd also hear your Assaultron in town. Though no matter what you kept chasing the figure and never let up at all. You and your Assaultron would continue running and running, but whoever this was had too much speed you seemingly couldn't match.

However unlikely for whoever you were chasing, it ran into an enclosed hilly dead-end. When you finally got into the small valley terrain itself, the being you were chasing was completely "gone," but you knew better already. The thing you were chasing probably didn't have enough time at all to climb these ridges. It was probably invisible, so it probably thought it could hide easily and not get caught by you.

It didn't like the other instances have time to cover most of its tracks. All you had to do here was look intently around and you'd catch it. Though there was a complete chance you'd miss it entirely still. You had to admit; whatever this was, was very good at stealth operations.

You slowly with your 1911 drawn waded across the ground in a semi-crouch, following a lead of tracks you sided. Your Assaultron followed nearby, but it was less stealthy. The more deeper you were following this trail, the more defined the tracks came to be.

Finally you would see the query we've been chasing after the whole night. It was a horrific looking... thing in a Vault Suit of somesort. Its face was a deep ashen-grey and full of dirty pockmarks. Its nose was slit-like and concave into its face itself. It looked like a true monster compared to you; both of you were a form of monster of course... but this thing before you..

Whatever it was doing while its back was turned, the thing had pretended that it didn't know you saw it. At an extremely fast second you heard a clunk by your Assaultrons feet. It was a Pulse Grenade.

What the fuck?

The finally primed and burst. It of course didn't harm you, but the field went wide and covered your Assaultron, causing it to immediately fall down. Damnit.

It was then you started hearing a fast thumping coming toward the front of you, but your head was turned looking at your Assaultron, so you didn't see it. But you didn't kid yourself; it was probably that thing.

Back tracking a bit back into the thread. If we survive this encounter, can we go back to the ashen remains of the man we turned to dust? His 9mm pistol might be worth something. If anything we could sell it any whatever ammo was left inside to buy AP bullets for our .45. Assuming it survived the laser blast and wasn't warped beyond functionality.

Anything else he might had had on his person that survived might clue us in on the scouts, maybe.

>He has a pulse grenade. I wonder what other goodies he might have on his person, or stashed away.
An intriguing question. We should definitely check the cave he was camped out in. Assuming Vault 34 lore is the same for the most part, they had a really well stocked armory. He did learn we were a roboticist, either by investigating us or by breaking into our shack, so it's possible he met with the main force/another group of scouts to get supplies specifically to deal with us. Assuming there is more pulse grenades, this could make salvaging the Nellis AFB tomorrow night a lot more lucrative for us in the way of salvaged robots.
Anyways, I'd like to get that Assaultron online, see how it preforms against a Nosferatu. We can use this encounter to narrow down upgrades we could make to our models to preform better against the main force of Vault 34.

Flipping over the Assaultron to its side, you open the systems compartment panel that was on its head. Some of the wiring were attached, but the EMP shockwave caused a few of them to be haywired or outright broken. No matter how manytimes you pressed the reboot signature triangle in the inner compartment, it didn't respond. Any other person would've given up, but you were a master Roboticist. It was then you remembered you had some rubberbands in your pocket.. then an idea formed in your head; but you only had a few seconds as the Nosferatu was still rushing toward you.

Thinking back to VTMB, wasn't fire a HUGE threat to vampires? Energy damage probably extends to that.
The main laser may take him out immediately, no chance of targeting specific limbs. Like it did to that greaser, who may have been a ghoul. Why don't we have the Assaultron take him on with its claws instead?

In a snap and without delay, you'd drop your pistol and dig straight into your pocket for a few rubberbands that were there since forever when you got your secretary position. Without a flurry of practiced hand movement you'd wrap the bands around a multitude of excess damaged wire to makeshift them to be "undamaged". This was done for a few long seconds, but it was fast enough for it to count as you fixed the last damaged wire.

With that, you press the triangle signature fast and without any hesitation, the all familiar whirring noise blares from the inner servos of the Assaultron. It would quickly and robotically turn its head to the side, seeing the running Nosferatu coming straight at it.

"Assaultron E-32!" You well out while tailing far behind them. "Begin mono-beam sequence and discharge at the enemy locomotion infrastructure!" You order loudly to the Assaultron. When giving direct verbal orders to this Robotic models made pre-war, you had to be sure you gave expect specified orders; because any wrong one could be interpreted a different way from how the machine processes it... and things could end badly.

Within the seconds of that moment of you running, you'd mentally think and exerted that you needed to go faster or needed to catch up.. then out of nowhere you felt the static blood inside you begin to swell up mysteriously. What the hell was this?

Whatever was that thing that overtook you, it rolled throughout your undead body and all of sudden you seemed more faster. It seemed like something you could instate at any moment, though you intrinsically felt that it took at toll on your Vitae. In exchange for getting this boost, you felt the hunger claw.. to put it in perspective. Though you shuttered all this out of your head and continued focusing on the matter at hand.

Vault 34 Nosferatu: 1d20(17) + 7(IR) = 24
Assaultron: 1d20(16) + 3(IR) = 20
Franklin: 1d20(2) + 9(IR) = 11

You definitely were catching up fast, as speed you never in you life before had was thumping through the desert ground just as fast as the other two infront of you. However they were still far off, which made sense considering how long on the ground you kneeled for.

The Nosferatu keeps running, but the monotonous straight run it was making was a rouse. At hearing you well the order to shoot its legs, it had already devised a plan to sidestep abruptly and attempt to trip the Assaultron right at its heels.

Finally after a few more seconds of running after devising such a plan, it attempted to spring it in motion once it and the Assaultron were in a less boulder-like terrain than they ran through before.

Assaultron:

vs
{Assaultron's running elbow motion: 1d20(9) + Dexterity 3 + Unarmed 3 = 15}

The Assaultron was a literal war-machine and could easily analyze new factors to a change in the battle scene. As soon as the Nosferatu foolishly stopped and tried to trip it up, data poured from its mainframe at a rapid pace and the information relayed already had its servos prepared in advanced.

At the scant few seconds before it was seemingly going to pass the threshold of the Nosferatu's leg and trip, the Assaultron jerked to its diagonal right, elbow raised.

<Elbow Attack: Strength 4 + Unarmed 3|7d10 (9 2 5 9 3 2 10|DC 6| - Stamina 1|1d10 (3) = 3 dmg>

(Vampires half down (so 3/2 = 1.5 = 1 after rounding down) natural Bashing Damage automatically. The previous Bashing Damage with our gun didn't half down because bullets are naturally Lethal in most cases (regarding mortals primarily), but bullets that aren't Armor Piercing do flat Bashing Damage for undead entities)

The elbow bash straight to the Nosferatu's head clocked it straight down to the ground immediately, a wide puff of desert smoke going up in an arc around the outer circumference of the Assaultron and the Nosferatu. The sheer heaviness of the machine ontop of the Nosferatu made it growl in fear and anger that it couldn't get out of the weight of it. The Assaultron was internally spooling up its mono-laser as you got near and heard its charge.

You:

"Assaultron E-32, hold, but sustain current spool sequence." You tell it as you jogged up, then walked to where they were, you hands in your pockets. You could still see him still attempt to struggle out the weight of the Assaultron on it. "Don't bother to try and get up. Look directly at its face." You say to him neutrally.

The Nosferatu would look at you in confusion first, but then it'd look right to the front of its laying position and would see the Assaultron's mono-laser in a medium held-charge. From there it would be deadly silent, fear all over its face. Now you can fully maybe begin to understand the story behind this.. creature of ill-being.

Looking side-to-side briefly, you spot a medium-sized boulder someways off from where the three of you were. Walking over to it, you pick it up and heft it on your right shoulder; it was as you expected, heavy to some degree. When you finally got to where your Assaultron was still laying ontop of the Nosferatu, you'd then raise the boulder with both hands over your head; then throw it violently to the exposed right knee that wasn't covered by the frame of the Assaultron.

<Boulder Throw: Strength 2 + Boulder Hardness Rating 3|5d10 (6 4 2 4 9)|DC 5| - Stamina 1|1d10(10) = 1 dmg>

>[1 Lethal Damage received]

The boulder crashed violently on the Nosferatu's knee. In spite of this he only seemed to give a pained growl. If he were a human, he'd be screaming in horrid pain right about now. Looking at the impact itself though, you'd find that it did its job- the knee of your captive was busted. No there was no possible escape.

(Most supernatural creatures can soak Lethal Damage. The some that can't and mortals explicitly cannot in most cases, cannot soak Lethal Damage; unless they have armor of course.)

He slightly turns his head downward and looks at the boulder on his leg, then you turns back to you with an angered expression. You however just keep a relatively neutral face.

A silence cloaked the entire area at this point. Decidedly more different than the previous high-speed thudding and crunching of the ground in the chase that had just happened before. Still saying nothing and tension still very palpable for you, even with your Assaultron having the Nosferatu pinned, you'd walk up to the its right side and kneel. In the midst of doing this, you dared not to keep your eyes off of its eyes; to ensure it didn't do anything stupid.

You digged straight into its pocket, grabbing a strange keycard. The back of it had features of a regular keycard; barcode at the very bottom, a few miscellaneous inscriptions on it; until one thing caught your eye in the right-corner of the back keycard. 34. Then you flipped it over to its front, revealing a logo you were somewhat familiar with... Oh right, it was a Vault-Tech logo.

That reminded you to check both its arms; but no dice, it didn't have Pip-Boy. You stood up and then went to do the same motion on its left side, digging through that pocket. There you found a lockpick set, but that was it. This thing traveled light.

You pocketed the lockpick set, stood up and holstered your 1911, then looked down on the Nosferatu. "Why are you here?" You ask of it.

The Nosferatu simply continues to stare at you with the same unmoving angered expression.

The Nosferatu, despite knowing what was to come, couldn't possibly resist you solid command with the enforcement of Dominate. It began speaking out in a pained voice; as it tried to hold back its speaking manually, but mentally and reflexive its mouth moved on its own.

"My... Sire.." It struggled out. "Sent me... here..." It continues. "Early.. scouting.." The Nosferatu would unwillingly tell you. "Told me... to ghoul..." He'd stutter out. Ghoul? What the hell is that? "Local g-gang member."

"What the hell is a ghoul?" You'd ask the Nosferatu on the floor. However just as before, it'd remain completely silent.. The Dominate must've ran off.

At this point it'll just be easier to maybe try and continue this Nosferatu to just speak with you normally.

"Listen, I'm just going to keep forcing you to tell what you have to spit out." You tell the Nosferatu. You'd then lean your head to the side and began scuffing your hair playfully. After you were done doing that, you'd look back at him.

"It'd just be in your best interest to talk to me plainly.. so we can skip the unsavory response your non-compliance will bring." You finish saying to it.

The Nosferatu is silent for a moment. Though it knew at this point not to push its luck. "..So you want to know what a Ghoul is?" The Nosferatu would say. "It's basically a former human than you "change" by giving it your blood. They're extremely loyal and have some 'Disciplines' that they can use." It informs you. "That guy you- your robot thing ontop of me killed? That was my ghoul." It finishes.

Interesting. So you could make loyal underlings just by feeding them your blood, huh? Though it begs the question...

"What were your ghoul and you doing here exactly?" You ask of it. The Nosferatu chuckles.

"I literally just told you." It'd say, "We came early to spy on this town." It says. Well it DID tell you before, but its speech was kind've garbled at that point. Now you new clearly it was an early scouting force.

"Who is your 'sire'? ..It that the right terminology?" You'd mull over to yourself out loud, hand cupping your chin. "Yes, that's right." You self-affirm, peering back down on the Nosferatu.

He'd be silent for a second. Then he would answer, "Silvestre Queiros." It says to you in a blank-neutral expression. Who the hell was that? Your sire never informed you of any Vampire named "Silvestre Queiros"... Why was he lying?

Apologize about the leg. Consider how he was snooping about it was safe to assume he was up to no good. (Not actually sorry)
Try using presence. It's the more subtle approach is it not? Ask for his name, and exactly what kind of vampire he is.

Exactly just how much did our sire tell us about vampires and everything? I'm really wishing he gave us a radio to keep in contact with him.
>>
>>4573029
This.
Ask him about his group. What do they plan on doing once they reach Nellis?
How many numerous are they? Are there more forward scouts? Are there any traps waiting in that cave? I assume that the main sire converted a fair number of them, then had his Nosferatus ghoulify more of them, then took over the vault, leaving the remaining humans as cattle. Or maybe they converted all of them and lived off of some kind of livestock? Nosferatu aren't exactly picky as to who they feed off of.
>>
>>4573029

(He only thought us about our Disciplines, a briefing on general Vampire history, and the only clan he told us about beside our own, the Venture, has been the Nosferatu because of his rival in the region. That's it.)

You'd remain silent and didn't respond for awhile. After you done deliberating mentally, you'd begin to speak, "...Sorry about the leg." You tell him flatly, but with a small timber of faux-guilt. "When I had seen your work with the Bighorner and how brazen that feeding was..." You say to him. "I had to act."

The Nosferatu chuckles, "Yeah, sorry about that. All that sneaking for along time without feeding.. made me kind of famished."

You were about to ask him another bout of questions, until you felt it. Dawn was here. Shit.

The Nosferatu would presumably also feel this, his eyes widening like saucers. "Crap, crap, crap!" He would yell in understandable fear. "Get this strong off me! Please!" He would plead.

Damnit!

"Assaultron E-32, lift off from the subject." You'd say to it. The Assaultron instantly obeys your order. It leans back, sidesteps and stands up in a matter of seconds. "However keep your mono-laser at mid-charge still." It obeys and you could still hear the low-humming whirring emanating from its head frame.

The Nosferatu would reach down its leg, grab the boulder, then throw it to the side. Then right before your eyes all the wounds that were on the Nosferatu completely disappeared. Its kneecap cracked back into place all on its own. How'd it do that?

As the Nosferatu got up, it peered at you in the eyes. You peered back. Whatever animosity you both had for eachother took a backseat completely. You both had to survive this. The sun was approaching.

Just as before the three of you would this time make a made dash opposite of where you all initially ran from. The dawn was quickly slipping and you both were on the precipice of sheer twilight. A heavy preternatural fear overcloaked your entire being, as too the Nosferatu most presumably. The Assaultron was completely ignorant of the fear you were facing; it just understood that it had to keep following you.

The first echoes of the sun raised. You felt the terrible heat hit your back and when you turned to the side to observe the Nosferatu, smoke was billowing from it.

......
However all made it just in time into the cave system. Even with this ensured, the both of you didn't care. You kept running and running deep into the cave until nothing but total darkness coated you; as if it was a laboratory shower suddenly being activated to wash off a theoretical chemical waste-spill from you.

The Slumber instantly gripped at you and the Nosferatu once the adrenaline was finished. You'd fall to your knees and crash directly onto the cavern floor. Likewise, you'd hear a thud next to you.

You didn't know anything about this cavern and it was less than ideal you were about to Slumber here. However, you had no choice.

You look for any tracks around the outside entrance of the cave. All you see are bipedal-like footprints; which were likely from that Nosferatu from last night. Beside that after continuing to search around, you mostly come up to find nothing.

You deliberate on whether you should try and hunt down an ACTUAL nightstalker to present to Aldo, but you decide against that, atleast for now. You had to focus repairing your Assaultron; tonight was the night you were supposed to go do your mission for Vance Roscoe.

Without any delay you get to your shack. You made sure to take the areas where you'd be less seen with your Assaultron in tow, better not to have any questions. Everything was still intact from before. Your terminal and workbench were here, your shipping-crate coffin, duffle-bag with all your tools were also here. You walked over and opened your storage hatch. All your material was still here too. The Nosferatu probably skipped town completely.. which was good, for a time.

Turning to face your Assaultron that was in the shack with you, you order it to shutdown. After it did you hoisted ontop of the workbench, opened its head-panel and chest-panel and begin working as fast as you could.

You begin getting to work on installing the upgrades onto your Assaultron. The first thing you went toward before getting into the heavier stuff was installing the Sonar Actuator and the Enhanced Sight Module.

The Actuator was to be installed in the chest compartment and with you doing a repair earlier. most of the initial problems you would've faced if the Assaultron didn't get damaged beforehand and you went to putting in these upgrades were already solved. With this put in, this Assaultron will be able to hear distinct noises at wider radiuses. Useful since Nosferatu apparently can become invisible.

Next was the Sighting Module. It was a quick adfixture of a more intense sequencing Mono-Eye.

Next was taking out all the current plating of the Assaultron, which took a good few minutes; of which took some more aswell to install the more reinforced plating you had stored years ago from a particularly good haul. Between the process of uninstalling the old plates and putting in the new ones, you also gave the Assaultron better server rubbering to make its movements more elastic and fast.

Within 30 minutes, your Assaultron was full built up and good as new.

You stared at your masterwork for along time... wondering what exactly to name it. Names, concepts, and different ideas swirled around your head... until you came up to one particular name that immediately sparked your gusto of inspiration.

You decided you'd name your Assaultron after a pre-war professional Wrestler named "Randy Savage", who used to be an Old World American sensation from 1985 through 2004. You only really got the privilege of knowing about the man because your brother Henderson was obsessed with obtaining holotapes regarding the Wrestling of such an "Old World". With Nellis Outskirts being a Prospector hub for trading miscellaneous items and commodities, he has amassed a wide-collection of such videos; it was also helped that since the Demand was low for such tapes (no one really knows about professional wrestling anymore around the Wasteland.. beside cage fighting), it was very affordable for him.

You'd all used to watch those matches alot and Randy Savage was such a bombastic character.. that you wanted his name for your Assaultron; considering the night earlier it did an elbow take-down on that Nosferatu.
—————————————

With all your stuff at the shack in order and you already buying the tools you needed way earlier, you were now ready for the job via the dufflebag with your assortments hoisted on your shoulder. Randy was right next to and the both of you were infront of your shack entrance. You still probably had some time before you'd go to Vance Roscoe's household though.

>Head to the workshop district to meet-up with Vance now.

>You remembered about Aubri Sosa. Go to her office and strike the deal to get some auxiliary Prospectors to also accompany you to the Nellis Airforce Base site.

>You're hungry. Go and try to feed before attending to anything else.

>Walk around town for a little while, see what's going.

>Check up with Aldo the rancher.

>Go to the strip market of town and see if you can buy better guns.

>Head to the Gecko Shack and see if you can hire some of your own personal mercenaries.

We used 3 blood on pumping our Dex up in that chase. We should be sitting on 10 at most right now, probably less

(Also seeing as how this thread has passed the 4 day limit and might die soon/me making a new thread, I archived our first session. I also made the sheets for both Franklin and Randy.)

What if we go visit Sosa? Maybe she might in the company of a raven haired girl.

It's possible, yeah. Though I'm not sure about showing up and trying to pull chicks right in front of a potential business partner. However, Franklin's new character sheet confirms that he has 10 vitae remaining, so we could probably get by tonight without feeding until after the Nellis AFB raid, just with a bit of a risk associated with using bloodbuff or something. I'll change my vote to visiting Aubri instead

As you were walking through town to get to the workshop district, your mind wandered for a bit in the midst of doing so. Then you remembered that woman who you used Presence for the first time on. With the very good first impression you imprinted on her (with all help due to Presene of course), she was somewhat in your hands by now; but not all the way you thought to yourself.

You decided to make a turn on the street you were going down to where Aubri said her Prospector office would be. It only took a few more minutes of walking until you were finally at the location. It was a very humble low-rise and from what you could glean from the outside, it was probably only a 1 roomer from the size of it.

After telling Randy to wait outside, you enter the building. It was moderate in furnishment and had the basic office space amenities, open concept. Some people heeded your entry, but they looked back at their terminals.

Passing through the foyer-hall, immediately to your right of the opening a couple benches sat a bunch of men wearing gunslinger type of armor to heavy-metal armor. These most be the Prospectors. They eyed you up for a few seconds, but ultimately went back to staying off to their own portions of random space.

Aubri looked up from her terminal and saw you, then immediately and probably uncharacteristically to her peers ran up to you; which definitely was a feat since she was wearing heels.

"You made it!" She'd scream as "quietly" as she could. The other office workers and the prospectors in the room looked on at the outburst.

Well, you had to hurry this along then. "So, about the deal?" You'd poke to her.

"Yes, the deal I proposed was accepted. The file is in my drawer." She says as you and her walk to her desk. She take it out and hand to you, from which you quickly read it over. You'd get 60% of all the sales revenue from all scrap sold throughout the common market, while the firm will retain a 40% margin. It was certainly generous, in no doubt in part of the exclusive access you were allotting. Aubri must've played up the advantages really well to her superiors for you.

"Alright. How many Prospectors can I take with me?" You'd ask her.

She mulled it over in her head, then checked over to her desk terminal. "You can only take two with you." She says. "We can't really commit more since most of our prospector personnel on take day jobs." She finishes.

You'd turn around to look at the row of benches next to the opening into this office.

(Last post for this thread guys, I'll need to recharge for a few days)

You walk up confidently to the row of Prospectors sitting on the long bench. These were sitters who were looking for night-time jobs. Some disregarded you thinking you were just another Prospector about to get a seating, while others were more wiser and knew you were definitely a client after watching your interaction with Aubri.

Of the wiser and keener ones, you decided to pick out two Prospectors who seemed heavily kitted out. You're going to a major military installation and you'd need to be prepared.

Walking out of the building, you, Randy Savage, the two heavies, begin your trek to Vance's estate in the workshop district. Many people walking the streets and roads would look at your group in amazement and buddlemet. Mostly at the Assaultron presumably, because most people don't ever see these Robots beside Mr Handys or Protectrons.

You'd make it to the compound easily enough. The perimeter wall guard sees you and your cadre, then lets you all in instantly. He must've remembered you from last time. Vance would already be waiting for you in the entrance front courtyard. A smile of delight would come upon his face.

"Ah, you made it!" He'd say matter-of-factly. His smile widens with seeing your own three provided manpower. "And you brought some of your own men! The more the merrier!" He cheers.

It was actually good you hired two heavies and brought your own Assaultron. These were Freeside "mercenaries". That means they all wore more or less hoodies and had pistols or revolvers only... great. There were 6 of the them.. so you're current manpower total would be a crew of 9, 10 counting yourself in the mix.

Vance and you would go over the deal of the contract for a few minutes. After that was concluded you took your party and you were all off to the Nellis Airforce Base.
—————————————

After a few hours of walking, you all finally made it to the most forward perimeter of the base grounds. The airspace fields were huge, but the base itself even more massive. Nellis Airforce Base was a massive military checkpoint pre-war when Old War America was invading China. It had the equivalent of 12 renovations and redevelops in a span of only a year. It was a massive complex.

You and your crew head to the common section of NAB that was already collapsed in to allow Prospectors in the scavenge. The front entrance into the base itself is guarding by twelve Sentrybots that are MKII; they'v been guarding that entrance since forever and no has dared to handle yet, not even you before.

Right now you and your men set up this wide chamber of a hallway as a Forward Operating Base. This whole part was picked clean, so it was easier to set up everything without having to move a bunch of miscellaneous stuff to the sides or disposed of.

Now your men waited and milled about the FOB, waiting for your plan of action.

>Scout the neighboring rooms and halls around FOB first.

>Scout the nearby outdoor perimeter.

>Begin putting some defenses at the giant wall gap of the FOB leading outside and to either sides of the FOB in the hall.

>Head to check how is the NAB gate now.

>Focus on trying to find rooms or offices in the base with some floor plans.

>Attempt to find some base maintenance rooms.

>Just begin trying to find Robots to disable.
