If feels kinda nice being back in DUNLIVIN. It's not under siege, it's not filled with guards - you're not on the clock trying to chase someone down. Between this place and the ship things you never expected are brining you a sense of comfort.

A working week has passed and it seems weird to think you thought of your dorm room as home.

It's about 4pm

You and Highball are walking together although she keeps skipping or handspringing ahead of you then running back to your side.

There is a crumpled map in your pocket in case you need to remind yourself where to go in DUNLIVIN.
>>
>>4545258

That's cute as fuck.

Once we enter the forest, are we at risk of running into both Edgewater and the Elder dwarf while grinding? Or are they in separate zones?

You walk towards Dowlers yard. You can see he and Lumsden are talking, she hands him a bag of gold and he nod. You'd swear he almost does his version of a smile.

Lumsden waves to you as she walks back aboard the ship.

Dowler looks in your direction. He does a slow blink.
He gestures to a wooden sign with his prices on.

Extra room -1000
Rope ladder -650
Fulton moths - 2500
Cannon - 750
Cannonball -50 each
Grapeshot -80 each
Armour -450
Ram - 750
Landing gear - 4000
Counterfeit clearance code 10000
Scoop Net 1200

His manner is still quite aggressive but his tone has actually softened very slightly.

"Please let me know if there is anything you would like that is not on the list, sir."
>>
>>4545696
We need at least 2 more rooms in order to accommodate people, maybe another for space?
How much to have it repainted nice and unrecognizably?
>>
>>4545696
While I do have the temptation of going: All of it, please; I think we need to prioritize.
According to wiki we have 15k and we already have the Rope ladder upgrade. The clearance code is a long term goal despite us being able to afford it now.
I suggest we purchase two extra rooms, one for HB (When she eventually wants her own space again) and one for Jorn. If we do pick up anyone beyond that then we can hopefully extend our current arrangement with HB until we can renovate for more rooms.
Beyond that I'd say we get Armour upgrade so we'll spend less time repairing in the future. If other anons agree maybe a cannon and few cannonballs/grapeshots should we happen to face other ships while in air. Cannon + 5 grape+ 5 ball = 1400

>>4545708
I think any cosmetic changes should be cleared with Lumsden first. We do have a mutterbottle if we want to do that.

Dowler nods thoughtfully.

"I realise it's always going to sound like a hustle from the person who gets paid. But for what it's worth, if you're deliberating between two extra rooms and three extra rooms. Get three. There will always be another use for one. Brig. Storage. Games. Guests. You'll be glad for it."

He glances toward THE SILVER LINING

"Regarding disguising it, the cost will depend on how much you want me to do. Are you trying to duck people who have seen it once or twice. Cause that'd be easy. 400g Maybe. Like a respray. if someone is super familiar with this thing and you wanna fool THEM. That would be closer to 1200-1500g work."
>>
>>4545727
>Three rooms it is then. And since I'm not sure how familiar the Old Guard is with the Silver Lining the 1200 g disguise is probably a good idea. Maybe throw in a cannon and 5 cannonballs as well
>>
>>4545740
I think the scout/contact was killed by mike, but giving some mirrors around the edge to make it live up to "Silver Lining" seems cool. If we're getting a cannon, we should get armor as well.

>"Three rooms it is then. "

Dowler nods.

"Excellent choice, sir."

He briefly glances at Highball as she clambers onto a pile of lumber and sings to herself.

"If I'm reading your situation correctly, and forgive me if I am not, I believe your suggested purchase of a cannon and 5 ball may be prudent. If you purchase the armour and two grapeshot. I will give you all of these things for 1500g. The canon is a slightly older model and needs to be mounted to one location. That's falling out of fashion so it would do me good to shift it at a slight discount."

"I can mount a cannon anywhere on the upper deck for you."
>>
>>4545751
>I will give you all of these things for 1500g
Sure. it's a deal.
>I can mount a cannon anywhere on the upper deck for you.
Either starboard or stern.
Those directions would work the best to act as deterrent while we make our escape. We'd need a lot more cannons to actually stick around fighting better armed ships.

"Very good, sir. That brings your current total to 4500g. I will begin work on this straight away. Any thoughts on where you would like the cannon mounted?"

"Steeeeeern!"

Dowler looks over his shoulder, then turns back to you. He keeps his head down as he makes more notes, but you can see he has a smile on his face.

"Stern it is. The cannon can rotate a full 360 and can point quite far down without the ball falling out. Maybe 60 degrees down."

Dowler closes his notepad.

"Pleasure doing business with you, sir."

The Baron claps and point

"Speaking of stacked! The Baron already knows you got your main squeeze best girl..!"

The Baron and Highball do a handshake, fist bump, finger click, point thing with eachother.

"But one cool cat to another - there ain't nothing wrong with looking, yeah? You woulda liked the sweet babe that came through her before you!"

The Baron traces out and hourglass with his fingerless gloved boney hands.

"Fit to burst! Gave uncle Baron big bags of gold to put that dirtbag from earlier to work! HAHA! Good business!"

Don't know about the porno. If it's anything like what Baron sells then we can apparently learn something. Gilcrest might enjoy that kind of thing

Once again tempted to just buy all of it, but I think we should at least get the following:

Lets assume there is one extra room per level.
Aside from the lower deck/exit/boiler and the wheelhouse, you can shuffle things around a bit.
>>
>>4546449
I just realized we probably want to market this to teenagers. I mean, when I was a teen there sure were a lot of guys who tried as hard as they could to show off how well they could hold their drinks, and they had a whole bunch of tips and tricks (some of which were stupid and/or dangerous) to be able to drink a lot more (or seem to) and keep going. This you can drink all day long.

>>
>>4546802

First one is in the exec washroom, yeah? Put this one in the normal washroom, easy peazy.
>That many cats on one ship gonna need some ways to pass the time. Gotta spend a little grease to keep the wheels turning can you dig it?
"Baron, you could sell me everything in your store if you wanted with pitches like that. And then some! Have mercy on this humble entrepreneur."

Buy two nice beds and and two fold out beds we can stuff into storage for later.
Then buy the standing bar, the autobard, the pool table and offer 50 extra for two-three chairs and a 100 for rugs, potted plants and a framed painting of a flat horizon (just to make it easy to draw) to make it real classy.
Name current rec room as Gym and third empty room the new rec room with bar, autobard, pool table and the chairs and other bells and whistles. Show time, big time, party time and then some!
All this and the beds for the low low cost of 700. Unless I messed up the math and Baron agrees to the deal.

QM: This is kinda what I got.

I figure we can also move the grink machine to either vent or roof access and the safe to the managers office.

May as well store the crates in the boiler room along with the fold out beds for just in case.

Fwiw. if you buy the scoop net from the shipwright it gets attached, with a crank near the main door. So it could be used to supplies up and down from the boiler room.

Is this making sense?

"You just missed her! Hips for days, that one."

The Baron gestures nebulously at the field where the livestock is kept.

"You know that good egg in the armour? Goes by Jim? Sweet babe comes to me and says she needs someone like that but that he won't go with her unless he knows all the Buyfugllian he's guarding will be safe. So she talks some business with me - and hands over big bags of gold -not unlike what you did, She asks me to power up and kit out one of my bone boys. She buys armour and weapons and a big old retainer."

The Baron does a massive laugh

"So you remember the DIRTbag from earlier? She's put him to work walking the fields ready to carve up anyone who messes with the critters like turducken! Ha ha!!"

Now that's even more interesting. Let the Baron know that she's an acquaintance of ours, but we weren't expecting her to be in town - judging by when she left, does he reckon she'll still be here? Not that we really need to catch up with her again so soon, but it'd be nice to hear her plans for Scadam with Jim.

Grink (to somewhat counter the dwarfs initiative advantage)
Mana potions (I see us and burstock burning through mana)

I see a few different lists here, so here's a few things to keep in mind.

This store don't sell bullets.
You can indeed get grink from your grink machine on the ship. it aint been used at all yet, so you're good.
You DO run a potion company but you're not really making many health or mana potions at the moment so if you want a bunch, you're gonna need to buy them.
>>
>>4552173
I suggest the following purchase from the chemist:

-5 large heal pots for 300
-5 mana pots for 300
-5 Boomflasks for 150
-5 Cloudjars for 150

All that for 900.

I'd rather not get Burnsauce, since Dwarf stopper rounds are just a better deal for what we are planning. Melee for Joey was always just a last resort/resource saving method.
>>
>>4552205
>I'd rather not get Burnsauce, since Dwarf stopper rounds are just a better deal for what we are planning. Melee for Joey was always just a last resort/resource saving method.
Not to mention, didn't we bake that into our ravenbar already? It might not stack.
>>
>>4552205
Does the dynamite we got not render the boomflasks a bit redundant? And Mike has cloudjars, but they cost AP.
>>
>>4552732
Boomflask ignores armor, whereas dynamite probably doesn't. Additionally I believe boomflasks are easier to use in combat as they explode on impact, instead of dynamite that needs it's fuse lit.
In short, dynamite probably has more utility outside combat where as boomflasks are only useful in combat and not much else.
>>
>>4552735
Gonna have to agree. We don't got "mentats" on staff so we can't get dynamite to behave as if it were a boomflask or vice versa. One "could" get the best of both worlds somehow, but that requires a thing we almost certainly don't have access to. Thus, best to not bank on that possibility.

Still, given all that, wouldn't hurt to have a bit of the ol' TNT on hand. The calculations for making it work outside of combat are far simpler than for a boomflask. That fuse needing to be lit becomes a godsend outside of combat for instance. Assuming we can synthesize actual TNT. Nitroglycerine the liquid/jell is horrendously volatile. One errant bump could set the whole damn batch off!

If *that* is what we're talking we don't even attempt to manufacture more than ounces at a time and that assumes all the defensive potions and magical buffs we can stack before making said attempt. If we can't do that than we relegate that task to truly expendable outsiders. Even then, however, given how we've been playing, we're not that cold and heartless. Unless copious amounts of Nitroglycerine are required to literally save the world and all sentient life in the galaxy, we can't and won't stoop to such measures....
>>
>>4553733

I assume you mean dynamite there; TNT is not the same thing.
>>
>>4553741
Well, you got my point. Point is, we got a few kinds of "explosive" material here and both got advantages and disadvantages.

I'm just more partial towards the kind that won't decide to go BOOM if we roll poorly/the enemy rolls well. Stable high-explosives>unstable ones.
>>
>>4553733
I believe explosives here make use of mogspit, a volatile chemical Mogwomps produce from a gland in their mouths.

QM: It does not! Well remembered!

>>4552732
>>4552735
>>4553733
>>4553741
>>4553756
QM: Dynamite CAN be used in combat but it's not designed for it. Between its fuse and stability it is largely intended for planned blasting. You definitely can use it, but there is a chance it can be kicked away, extinguished or knocked back at you, although that would be an action on the enemies part.

Boomflasks are activated relatively specifically. They are turned upside down twice then shaken rapidly for about 2 seconds to activate. They won't suddenly explode after this but the next time they are broken they basically turn into a small batch of napalm, producing fire and a flaming goo that burns people for a few turns.

If a Boomflask is broken, or opened and poured out before it is shaken correctly, the ingredients simply pour our and neutralise. They are harmless.

Mogspit is a pure chemical. Unpleasant and irritating to the skin and eyes but no more than that without being ignited. You can think of it like lighter fluid or petroleum. Definitely has weapon potential (and is doubtless being used to make them) but is generally a fuel when sold by itself. If you ever want to torch a place proper, it'll burn a treat doused in mogspit.
Sorry for the infodump. I hope this helps at all with your shopping.

The place is lively, for it. The moment you walk in, GOMMERSAL some how kicks out two chairs smoothly out towards you and HIGHBALL invitingly. He half fills two glasses of red wine and places them down before beckoning you with both hands.

"Sit, please! Regale me with stories of the justified carnage you have wrought with the iron I have bestowed upon you."

Gommersal turns the gun over a few times, removes the cartridges, stares down the barrel, spins the chamber, tosses it from hand to hand, reloads it, then hands your gun back to you.

He strokes his chin thoughtfully. he exhales, slightly awestruck.

I'm assuming we are using prices for bullets that Mike set us when we first met him since I don't think we ever bought any bullets from Gommersal before. http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive/3800042/ post No.3805589
Here is my suggested shopping list:
-Two speed loaders for 700
-15 Dwarf stopper rounds for 900
-6 Troll stopper rounds for 600
-23 boxes of 6 normal bullets for 800 (rounded up)

That brings our expenses to 3000, which leaves us still with 5000 in the bank for rainy day and surprise expenses and/or investments.
With that many normal bullets we'll effectively never run out as long as we have an opportunity to resupply at our ship.

>>
>>4564998
>>4564907
We've bought bullets every time we can though. 43 should already last us a nice long while, unless we start encountering heavier enemies more often. If trust-a-goblin.fandom.com/wiki/Journal is accurate, we currently have 43 Bullets, 2 Trollstoppers, 1 Dwarfstopper, and a speedloader. So how about:
- 2 speedloaders, for 3 total
- 4 Trollstoppers, for 6 total
- 11 Dwarfstoppers, for 12 total
- 5 normal bullets, for 48 total (its evenly divisible)
Then we can keep our cylinder full of normal bullets, and fill two speedloaders with dwarfstoppers and one with trollstoppers in case.
>>
>>4565709
Normal bullets come in boxes of 6 each box costing 36. I'm not sure it's even possible or worth it buying individual bullets.
For the sake of keeping this brief, I can agree to what you suggest, though I feel buying more now will save us time later, but that is just me.
>>
>>4565709
Assuming we got enough "normal" ammo to be able to afford to waste it in a pinch that makes sense. See a troll? Dump our normal mag and slot in a full mag of trollstoppers. Same thing for if we see a Dwarf.

As I think we're going after a Dwarf first I can get behind filling two speedloaders with anti-Dwarf rounds. If we're going for the troll first than fill two with anti-troll rounds. Err, weren't we given a signal flare to use if we ran into that damned troll that fucked a town/us/a prospective recruit to our party over not too long ago? That'll have an effect on my final vote if the answer is yes.

You make some light conversation while Gommersal starts loading things from an iron box next to him into a paper shopping bag for you.

>"While you are getting your hands dirtied, how would you feel about coming up new additions for your stock? We'll be on a lookout for that edge in battle and you've seen we are good for the dough. Whatever might spark your creative juices we'll be interested in."

Gommersal holds up a placating hand.

>"Incidentally, as a hypothetical, do you have any thoughts on what someone going up against a lightning spear, or multiple pintle-mounted antitroll guns, should know or have?"

"Company."

Highball laughs

You slide your gun towards him

>"So, if wasn't made by you or any one nearby any theories as to who DID make this piece?"

Gommersal turns it over.

"Not really, I would have thought an artist like this would have a signature, but there's only a batch number."

Zhenji walks up and places an elaborate looking coffee with whipped cream and wafer sticks on the table.

"Look down the barrel"

Gommersal gives her an appalled look, empties the cartridges out once more and then looks down the barrel,

"huh."

he pulls a purple monocle from his pocket and squints through it.

"There on the front of the sight. A lower case 'v.n'. They look basic, but they're REALLY elaborate and detailed. This is incredibly fine work. What an odd place to put your makers mark."

"I guess it's so the last thing the victim sees?"

Gommersal shakes his head and widens his eyes as he reloads the gun.

"That's insane."

"It's almost certainly Nash."

Gommersal turns to Zhenji

"The Baron had some sort of annual general meeting of shop keepers about nine months back. There was a factotum there - an elf that went by 'Nash'. I got a glance at their stock and blueprints while I was serving their table and it looked incredible."

Gommersal hands you back your gun

"There you have it. Hope I'm present for the next one."

We're actually on pretty good terms with the gopniks here (Krychek, Pavel and Sala). They're the ones who made the SCADAM map for us.

>>
>>4576397
I don't think they'll be very appreciative when they notice they've been tricked. Then again, if we don't charge them for it, it's a good prank.

Alcoholics usually want to be drunk and will notice not getting drunk. Trying this on someone who's not a _recovering_ alcoholic is condescending and wouldn't work in any positive way anyways. Seeing little recourse, you thank Gommersal once more and leave.

You try and see what those Gopniks from last time are up to, but true to their word they seem to have moved on.

You find the corpses of a few other left over gopniks. Huh. You didn't make these.

One looks like they got run over by a stampede. All bruised and bloody with their limbs twisted the wrong way.

Another has his chest caved in. Has a pumpkin stuck over his head for some reason.

The last is toasted to a crisp. Well, actually that might have been you. You lose track with these chaff enemies.

The pumpkin thing is weird though. That's definitely not you.

You and Highball make your way to the Buyfugllian field. Highball is singing some sort of song you don't recognise but is kinda nice.

Standing amongst the field is an armoured thrall. It eyes recessed and burning with the magic of unlife. An arcane steam hisses from its joints as it turns to face you. If it recognizes you, it doesn't show. it merely follows your movements.

It eyes you, then Highball, then you again. It seems to have been made made to recognize ternion species as more of a threat. That follows. it eventually talks to you in a voice like fraying thread.

I will tie things up soon. I gotta get some sleep for now. I haven't drawn the new ship sprites yet, so going back aboard the ship will end the session. Just make sure you pick a destination you can agree on before that.

I think we should track down that dwarf bounty who was terrorizing communities in nearby forests. We already cleared out Kiani forest, so it must prowl around Kerdil and Jarka forests.
Those will be next to Joonda, but we can't land there since according to LUMSDEN the ship is not registered yet.

I'd say unless there are other suggestions or obstacles we investigate Kerdil forest first.

Is it possible to clear out these forest zones or are they always going to have more foes in them? Also, Edgewater is probably kicking around kiani, and pretty upset at us. So if we feel up to that fight we should tie up that loose thread.

Edgewater was last seen fucking off to Yagadoov canyon. Where are you getting he'd be in Kiani?

Oh, my mistake. I was remembering that we'd lit the signal fire in Kiani, but that was a while ago wasn't it. Then yeah, hunting down the elder dwarf bounty sounds good.

QM: You can clear out unique enemies, but the forests will always have mobs. It's there for grinding and looting if that's what people choose to do.

You drop in on Lorna, who thanks you again for your business and says you look good in your outfit! She asks you to please stay safe.

You walk back to the ship.

Lumsden and Dowler are talking. You can't hear what they're saying, but Dowler has less scowl than usual.

Lumsden notices you

"We off?"

You nod

>"Next stop, Kerdil let's bag us an elder dwarf."

Lumsden smiles

"I'll start her up."

You and Highball re-enter the ship and you ask her about the up beat song she was singing to herself.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

QM: Alright guys, is this a good place to stop for now?

Next session will be basically a time skip to Kerdil unless you wanna wander around the ship a bit first. Either is good! No wrong answers.

Any last minute request or sketches?

Richter and Malak interacting would be intresting to see (even though they are from different universes)

Yep. Thanks for running.

Next session I'd be interested in seeing the new interiors if possible.

I'd like to request a humorous sketch of Joey looking sad holding an empty money purse since we did spend quite a bit this session.
