Maria took in a deep breath as she looked out onto the open ocean, however as she turned she could see the coming shoreline before her. The previous night seeing the stares did not settle her nerves one bit, the idea that the Gods are ever watchful.

Who knows what could have happened if they’d noticed her. However they did not, which actually struck the girl as a little strange in her honest opinion.

“Mi-Maria, we need to head below deck and get your things prepared.” Melody said while dressed in a mostly black turban.

“Indeed we should. Thinking about things is not going to cut it I would assume.” Maria admitted while following her maid into the bowls of the ship.

So they traveled, Maria quickly grabbing her cloak and throwing it over her frame. With a few flicks of her hands not a shred of her purple hair was visible from the outside. Indeed such an attire was enough to at least keep her identity a secret.

“Maria, are you worried about people noticing you?” The maid asked while packing the few bags that had gone out of whack.

“Indeed, if we are not careful the Gods of this land will take notice of me and attempt to smite me.” Maria said outright before giving a shrug, “Or atleast, thats what I think they’d try. Honestly it might just be all their priests will know I am here.”

“Thats… not the best odds.” Melody sounded a little scared in her words, “W-what can we do about it?”

“Hmm, I have a man on the inside you can say.” Maria said as they rose form the underdeck, “Just a question on when-”

“Escuse me there fine sir!” Announced a pair of larger than average men patting a sailor on the back, “You wouldn’t by chance have transported a purple haired woman would ya?”

“Uh, well, uh, we have. Follow me this way!”

Well this was not very expected, it seems the Morse have already appeared to pick her up. That can only mean Solomon is atleast within the city.

“Fufu, come Melody.” Maria said while taking some confident steps forward, “We should be on our way now.”

“Understood.” Melody quickly fell in line behind Maria as the two of them walked out onto the deck.

At the same time they walked out, the poor man who was being bullied by the Morse was now making way for them. Together the three of them crossed right by Maria and Meldoy, the duo making it onto the docks without even a moment of alarm raised.

Soon enough they made it down an alleyway quick, no one noting the odd pair of what should be foreigners hiding away from the public eye.

“Oh Lord that was scary!” Melody cried out with the moment of rest given, “Though where are we going to go? Th-those were Morse men. Arn’t Morse men who are within the Miaphate part of the Valrian Guard!?”

“Fufu, don’t worry so much about it Melody. Though we are going to need to follow them now.” Maria answered with a smile, “To get to our contact of course.”

“C-contact!? You never answered my question!”

“Shhh, here they come.” The two men went by their little alleyway looking both sad and confused for sure. Indeed not finding the person who should have been there might not be the greatest of affairs, but they were now pawns in Maria’s game against Solomon.

With a simple step after another, the two woman came out from the shadows and followed. Melody over her time at the Academy seemed to have gotten extremely skilled at navigation, as she was able to follow Maria through the crowds. It seemed not neither of the two guards were able to notice Maria’s tailing of them, soon entering a modest sized villa.

Now Maria was going to play a small prank upon the man, though how was she going to go about that? With a few of extra cloths from Melody’s luggage, she could play the part of a Servant. Noting the lack of security above, she could maybe crawl above them and deliver her prank from there.

Lastly, she can simply act the part of a peasant.

“Fufu, if you do not mind Melody I need you to just find a place to hang out. I will have them send someone over to pick you up.” Maria said while taking a moment to study the walls.

“A-are you sure we should be splitting up? What happens if you get hurt?” Melody said with a good amount of fear in her voice.

“Oh don’t you worry about that.” Maria said before making her way towards a barren wall, “Just stay near the sight of the Morse and we will have one of them grab you.”

“A-alright.” Was about all Maria heard as she walked away towards one of the nearby building which neared the villa. With a few aerobics that were primed back in her youth, Maria scalled the walls so that she was standing upon the roof.

The warm medetratian breeze came through Maria’s hair as she let down her hood. This is for play of course, so at least this way she won’t be stabbed immediately.

So with that done, Maria quickly ran across the roof and jumped the rather short gap between the two buildings. As there was no security here Maria was easily able to crawl her way across it and gained herself a nice view into the holding.

Immediately Maria noticed Solomon, the young red eye man staring at a pair of men while lounging in a chair.

“So she was not on the boat, are you sure?” He asked while moving himself away from the lounging position.

“Indeed, though the Captain swore that she was on the boat up to when they docked.”

“So she is somewhere in the city.”

“Indeed, if you want I can have my men scouting around for her right now.”

“Don’t bother, she will find her way to us. Chances are she played the two of you as fools.”

“Hehe, so she’s really like what the oldman say?”

“Doubly so, she is the person who killed two Miaphs already.” Solomon laughed before lounging once again, “Just stand at the gate and prepare to receive her.”

“Understood, sir.” And with that the two men walked away from the Ruler of this Empire.
>>
When the moment was clearly open Maria made her move, sending herself down a series of floor before landing upon the ground. She did not even waste a moment as she crossed the field and placed herself right at the man’s back, Solomon quickly whipping around as Maria’s spear came narrowly close to neck.

“Thank you for having so much confidence in me, Solomon.” Maria said with a smile towards the young dictator, “Your security is lacking though.”

“A pleasure to see you again, can I assume though this is not some assassination attempt?”

“Fufu, you are correct.” Maria answered before quickly putting away her weapon and giving a cheery smile, “I just wanted to see your face when I appeared.”

“You saw it, a side I was not wanting to show you.” He admitted with a small chuckle, “Though it hurts me that NONE OF YOU IDIOTS CAME TO SAVE ME!!”

Maria turned to see a series of men standing around with weapons a their sides, though they were quite far away. It seemed they were stunned, but soon enough some began to let out a good amount of laughter.

“Light hearted bunch, even when one’s life is on the line.” Solomon complained before once again lounging upon the chair, “I shall have a second chair brought, but is there anything you want?”

Anon was making a joke before asking for tea.

“Some tea would be acceptable.” Maria said with a soft smile, “Though you should be careful with your words there Solomon. Someone may take advantage of them.”

“I guess you are correct there, though you have proven to accept a more tame offer.” He answered back with a wave of the hand.

“Now I kinda wish I asked for the pony.” Maria mumbled with a small smile, “While we are getting something in here, I have a servant dressed in black outside of of this villa. If you can, have your guards pick her up.”

“Indeed I will. Men, have the Servants bring us some drink and a chair for the girl here as well as grab this Servant whose name is?”

“Melody.”

“Melody, alright. Come on you all heard it!”

Finally the men he was barking orders at began to move and Maria was brought a nice sized chair to lounge herself into. Giving a small sigh she relaxed herself, as soon enough both Melody and the tea came to them. Though Maria noted how Melody was completely silent upon seeing the face of Solomon, which was honestly because she might have figured out something.
>>
Either way, Maria was poured a small glass of tea by one of the black masked servants before they attentively went off to the side.

“So, how was your trip over? Were the waves rocky or were you able to keep your holding?” The man asked with a small smirk.

“If we are talking about the trip over, that was fine. I had no issues and the crew did not bother me one bit.” Maria answered before getting a cruel smile, “Though that does not compare to the mayhem I experienced in the previous town. Apparently there are monsters who feast upon men who live near the waters.”

“I have heard of those, Carnites correct? Being capable of mindcontrol and feats of immense strength.”

“Indeed you are correct, though I have not met one who was as strong as everyone is saying.” Maria admitted with a solemn sigh, “I think I might have chopped off the head of the muscle too early.”

“Fufu, so you have.” The Miaph seemed to grow a more fierce grin upon hearing that, “It does not sound like your bloodlust has ebatted from the last time we’ve talked of death and war.”

“Thats a rude thing to say to a woman, you know.” Maria claimed while now holding a devilish smile herself.

“Well then I meant it as a compliment.” He admitted with a small laugh before giving a solemn nod, “Well then, during your stay here I must inform you that using your true name is not very much advised. Though I think you already know that right?”

“I had assumed as much, being that I even felt their gaze glance over me the moment I traveled your waters.”

“Really now, normally they are not nearly as vigilant.” Solomon admitted before shaking his head, “Either way I ask that you choose a name that is not your own, as even near me you are not safe.”

“I take it your ancestor can see through your eyes or something?”

“Close, they can at any time, look at what is around me and hear what I hear. I do not feel Alkain’s presence with now, so it should be safe to figure up a solution soon enough.”

Mizu-chan. Short for Mizuki which means beautiful Moon as a contrast to Chloe's light powers (And Solomon being descended from a Sun god) if we want that to be her pre isekai name.

“A new name? Hmm I was suspecting something of that manner was needed so I figured a nice one out.” Maria announced with a smirk upon her face, “Elizabeth Wyvern, that shall be what the Miaphate shall know me by.”

“Quite the ambitious name if you ask me.” Solomon noted while taking a sip of the tea present near him, “I take it is a reference towards your Father the Dragon, correct?”

“You have done your research about me it seems.”

“Hard to miss something like a title when it is very much deserved.”

“Touche'~”

With that the two of them enjoyed the tea given, soon a small amount of pastry treats were brought out as well. Maria took a small bite out of the treat, noting that is was for the most part a plain tasting treat. Was this to Solomon’s liking or simply what they had in the area was not to Maria’s knowledge.

“So,” Solomon once again started the conversation, “If I may ask, where exactly are you wanting to go on your travels through my empire? Is there by chance someplace that has caught your eye?”

“Indeed there is.” Maria announced with a small cheer, “Ca’Ren, the first city of my faith.”

“I should have guessed that.” The man admitted with a small wave of the hand, “Such a place is prime for pilgrims of your Lord and one of the few places he holds sway. For distance we will need to travel long for it, four days at least if we want to be leisurely about it.”

“Well, you do have my attention for two weeks, two weeks to convince me to stay at your side as well.”

“Indeed two weeks is all I have, so I will make the best of it without fail.” He announced while quickly standing upon his feet, “We have had enough leisure, and I am sure the ride upon the boat has put aches that only a good walking shall relieve. Will you join me in a walk across the City of Alsterbage?”

“Very well, you may show me whatever it is you want.” Maria answered while rising from her chair, “I would want to see the difference between the realms of the Lord and Gods.”

“Very well then, follow me.” Solomon said while guiding Maria through the doors and into the streets.

FInally taking a moment to study the things happening around her, Maria noted the vast majority of stone structures around her. They were not concrete like those found in Altmer mind you, but instead a series of large stone slabs being placed ontop of one another in a rather obvious manner.

Still though, Maria noted the sight of children playing in the streets while the place was more or less jam packed with several livestock. Indeed, such a large amount of people traveling about this place was enough to make Maria wonder where the heck did they all come from.

“Well then, I should make the introductions to this city first.” Solomon announced while Maria noted his eyes were now a cold blue instead of their red, “Alsterbage is one of our primary trade cities, resting upon the coastline in wait for ships from the West. Though it holds a good amount of wealth from trade, I will be quick to admit that it has become something much more these days.”

“A town in its own right.” Maria quickly summerised before giving a solemn nod, “Though it is nothing like your capital, is it?”

“Indeed you would be correct.” Solomon said while nimbly pushing a few little kids out of the way, “Though I will say that the reason for a city being so large might intrigue you very much. Have you ever been told what to expect out in the deserts?”

“I have not, well except for a hag telling me its a place children like me should have gone.”

“You had one bad tutor, though considering it was my Uncle I am not surprised. He was not the wisest man of them all you can say.”

“To die so easily, I would agree with that.” Maria said before finally catching up with Solomon, “So what of the deserts should cause such a density?”

“Fufu, they are filled with great monsters.” The man advertised with a smirk, “Ranging from Worms who shall consume those upon the surface, leviathans who stalk the oasis, and even the occasional Scorc. It is a very dishospitable land for mankind.”

“And why would the Gods leave things like that?” Maria asked with a raised brow, “Are they not able to choose champions who rise above the rest?”

Solomon shook his head with what she soon realized was a somber smile, “It seems your Lord has treated his people wall then. No though, legend has it most were the creations between Balitic and Sarhar in their eternal war in who can claim the desserts.”

After saying that Solomon quickly reached over and grabbed Maria’s hand with a smirk, “Now come now, I don’t want to lose you.”

Maria gave a quick blush at his bluntness, however she returned in strength and soon enough the two were going through the crowd with ease. Soon enough they ended up in a relatively calm alleyway, the amount of people there quite a bit less than the streets.

“Tsk, you planned this out didn’t you.” Maria called Solomon out as they took a breather.

“What is?”

“This, right here.” Maria called out while tugging on Solomon’s hand.

“But is that not simply to make sure you don’t get lost? Its quite the scary world out there if you’s agree.” Solomon retaliated with a smirk, “And are you going to complain more about it?”

“No, I am just admitting your wit.” Maria answered back with a smile, “So where exactly are you taking me?”

“I’m taking you to the action.” Solomon answered back with a smile, making a quick demonstration towards the large building that was now coming up close, “I believe in your lands your Lords would host tournaments, and I will claim these much similar and different at the same time.”

Maria studied what she quickly realized was a coliseum, “Are we talking battles of one warrior against another?”

“Indeed that is the case.” Solomon admitted with a smile, “Of course places like these are not terribly common, only where enough men congregate will we gain such large entertainment centers.”

“And the largest would be in your Capital, correct?”

“You are indeed correct.” Solomon answered with another tug at Maria’s hand, “Now come, it is time we get to our seats. Oh, and put on your cloth so that not many are able to see your face.”

“Hmph, do you want all my womanly charms to yourself or something?”

“If that is true I would.”

“Hmph, it has been a while since I have met someone who can match my words.”

And with that they traveled to the coliseum that modestly tall against the sky. Honestly it was nothing too special, as Maria noted that the Academy’s own buildings were able to get much taller than this place, however it was by all mean fat instead.

As they entered the place a few of the guards quickly stepped infront of the them, however the moment the man got a look of Solomon he back away from the young man’s presence. Maria could easily catch a glimpse of the red eyes, which Maria assumed had something to do with his lineage.

“Now this is the great spot here!” Solomon announced as they were essentially seated in a small both overlooking the stadium, “And it is to our luck, the two challengers are coming out to fight.

Maria watched as from either end a man emerged, both covered in partial metal and leather armor that was obviously meant for sport. One was carrying a nice sized axe, possibly even a great axe. The other, a standard sword from Maria’s guess.

“You know, Gladitorial games are nothing if not for sport. Why don’t you cheer one of them on, or maybe if you are feeling willing we could take a bet on who would win.”

Not really into the /u/ route since there's no indication we have any sexual attraction to females and it might make us slightly vulnerable to Chloe.
I did half expect mild yuribaiting while potions were being thrown around since Melody is the only one we could trust in our room at the academy. This is in a scenario where we get poisoned by one of our potions by Chloe in a harebrained attempt to "prove" our potions are nefarious.

Overall Melody works better as a friend/companion since we're going to get to hear her opinion on the mess we've got ourselves into rather soon.

I'm guessing the monster concentration indicates the amount of dead/entombed gods in the Miaphate is extremely high. Perhaps it's some sort of mausoleum of the gods? The the thing that doesn't fit is that locations for human cities are entirely predictable and geography based, so maybe the gods were dragged out and put down in specially prepared tombs outside the cities? That's the only way the Miaphate wouldn't run out of reasonable locations

“Hmm, I do not think I can go for a bet without even knowing a single thing about the event. However, if I were to guess I think the Morseman with the Axe will win.”

“Indeed the axe ie enough to show he is a Morse man.” Solomon admitted with a small snicker, “Though I would not run off the swordsman yet. Supposedly he has been fighting Monsters throughout the week just to train himself for this fight.”

“Then we will watch.” Maria teased before turning to watch the action play out.

As soon as a man who was standing in the stands gave sounded a call, the two men quickly got into a tussle. And it was indeed shown that they were professionals of this arena, both of them going for what was obviously superficial injuries to spur on the crowd.

However Maria noted that was time they struck a nice hit the crowd erupted in a roar of approval and satisfaction. Maria herself would have joined them, but honestly simply not making a fool of herself was enough for now.

“So when will they go for the finishing strike anyways?” Maria asked the man next to her who was smiling with absolute glee at the sight.

“It will be for another minute, as why would they not give us a grand show beforehand.” Solomon answered with a grin, “Though in the end these battles are won by whoever can endure the most amount of punishment.”

“Indeed, that would be the goal.” Maria admitted as the minute has finally passed and their attacks have become wilder.

However soon the two took a few steps back, looking at one another for what Maria was now guessing the great final bout. Her guess was correct, as the two men charged at one another with the variety of animals. Maria watched with a silent glee as they finally impacted-

“THERE WE GO!” Solomon cheered as the swordsman attempted to slide underneath the Morseman’s axe, however as soon as he tried that the Morseman proved to have done a feint and slam the handle right into the other’s face.

The swordsman landed back down upon the ground. It was obvious that the battle had been won.

“Now that was a fight, would you not say?” Solomon said while turning to Maria, “The next fight shall be more interesting, I think. It will be an eastern archer against the Tibitain Tiger.”

“A tiger you say? This should be entertaining to watch.” Maria said as she inched just the tad bit closer to the edge to see the entire field.

“Indeed, the Tibitain Tiger is a fierce predator who should spark awe in men, though let us see just how skilled the man is at defeating the beast.”

As Solomon finished his preamble Maria watched as a man on horseback quickly came from the other gate. Maria could not help but widen her eyes at the sight, “Horseback? Why would a man need to be on Horseback to fight a Tiger?”

“Fufu, this is a Tiger from the Southern Deserts you must understand.” Solomon announced with a show of his hand, “He is not like the small felines that roam the savanna but instead a predator that waits in the sand for camel, men, and Hilterbeast. A Horse is a must when fighting them.”

Maria watched as the other end began to open as well, slowly coming out a monster of a beast. Quickly Maria noted that the creature had a golden coat, one that Maria could not tell was fool’s or real. However with that she noticed that its eyes were giving a fierce glow, beet red eyes against the now slowly setting sun in the sky.

“That creature, it is not natural now is it?” Maria could not help but say.

“Indeed, that would be the creation of Sarhar. At least, a descendent of their King.”

“Those Gods, they play a dangerous game don’t they?”

“Indeed, it is a daily reminder that the Gods watch over us in contempt. We are not the owners of their world, only pawns who can be wiped off if not for our worship.”

In an instant Maria watched as the beast shot across the battlefield, the man quickly stirring his horse to move to just narrowly evade the attack. He then gave a response, a pair of twin arrows impaling the creature’s hide. However the creature seemed to not care at all about the strike and simply gave a beastial growl.

Soon enough they went at it again, both attackers missing their attempts to injure eachother. Maria however watched in what could be a mix of horror and amazement, as the beast simply did not give a shit about physical limits.

First off because of its feline form it was nimble and easily able to turn to face the attack the moment it landed from a pounce. After that however it was able to leap what was a good 30 yards, and a speed of which meant the Archer was only getting by with the skin of his death.

It was only inevitable as in the end the creature landed the final attack, yanking the archer off his horse with ease. However before the man could be eaten, quickly a group of men came out to retaliate. One of them was carrying a large kettle of what Maria quickly realised was incense, the creature collapsing in an instant.

“Seems her priests were fast enough. The man should be grateful to her for sparing him then.” Solomon said while Maria watched everything occur, “Well that is the last of the great battles for today, do you wish to go and get something to eat Maria?”

“I guess something to eat would not be bad.” Maria admitted with a smile before making her way towards the door, “As I have said, I will play to your tune Solomon. Prove that your moves are the right ones.”

“Indeed I will try.” Solomon claimed before taking Maria’s hand and guiding her through the door.

Once again they were traveling the streets, looking at the series of merchants who all dotted the streets. Though now they were starting to quickly pack their things and go away, many of them seemingly making prayers as they did.

Ontop of that however Maria could not help but notice, “Is that incense in the air?”

“Indeed it is, the people are doing their rituals towards the Lunar God Hesk to make sure they have good nights of rest and no mayhem.”

“So much devotion, its… is this what fearing your Gods brings you?”

“Indeed, many a mortal would see fit not to anger any of our deities, lest they sic their hounds and monsters upon us.” Solomon admitted before opening a small door to what Maria realized was a pub, “However that is something you do not need to worry while near me.”

Maria’s brows were raised upon seeing the place, but she said nothing as they entered the place without even a peep. It was of course lively inside, men enjoying their drinks and being merry. However Maria quickly noticed the rather large idol standing above the room. However before Maria could ask about it they were already seated upon the table.

“Order whatever you want, I have a few pieces of gold on me.” Solomon called out with a smirk, “I have heard the spirits here are to die for.”

“You expect me to start drinking on what is essentially our first date?” Maria asked with a sly smile, “Will you even be drinking along with me if I try?”

“Of course! Let see if the blood of the Gods grants me more tolerance than the watchful eye of another deity! Two rounds over here miss!” Solomon cheered.

Now that Maria thought about it, it was pretty obvious Solomon had to do something to get the Morse on his side. Though this is not the best place for a date, so either he thought Maria would like this or something was for his own entertainment.

Hmm, what though?

“Sure, I think I can drink you under.” Maria said confidently with a smirk as the drinks came out, “Let us see who is the winner don’t you agree?”

“Indeed we will, cheers!” The Dictator said as he raised his mug, “To a day well spent, and tomorrow we will have nothing to regret but our headaches!”

With that their mugs clanged, announcing the starting of their little drink off. Indeed it might as well been years since Maria last had a drop of meed, but she was no pushover. Maybe it was because of her blessing or simply the fact she was extremely fit, either way she was going to drink him under the table.

So one after another they drank, each of them matching the other in amounts. Maria could quickly feel her blood flush about her body, the warmth it provided easily making her able. Looking across the table, Maria noted the slight difficulty Solomon was having keeping the illusion upon his eyes, the slight flickering of a dangerous red coming into view.

“D-damn it, I did not expect to be m-matched.” Solomon said as he slammed another mug.

“Fufu~ hic. You expected shit from me, Solomon. Know I am n-no push over!”

“Damn it, I can’t lose!”

“Maria simply gave him a smile, “You know you already lo-lost.”

“I d-don’t wan-na hear dat from ya!”

Maria admittedly could not win the competition now, especially as she was feeling like collapsing. Since Alcohol works with time, Maria had a sneaky little idea, “Hey s-Solomon, have you ever heard the time I slaughtered a bunch of demon worshippers?”

“No I,” Solomon gave a small burg, “Have not.”

“Fufu, it was gggglorious! I snnnuck up into their cave, rrrrescued mmmy maid and slaughtered all em.”

“Sssslaughter eh? How mmmm-.” Before he could finish Solomon slipped down towards the table, bashing the top with his cup, “Shhit. I’m fucked.”

Maria was simply growing a small smile as the illusion that was upon his eyes broke away, “O-bvi-ouslllly. M-my win then!”

“Not u--unless I.” Solomon tried to bring the mug to his lips, but soon enough dropped it on the table with a look of failure.

For Maria, she quickly down the last drink in her hand with a wicked smile, sure in her victory now. The look of betrayal was on Solomon’s face, as he instaly knew he was played for a fool. However what was Maria to do, she wanted to tell her story.

“Fufu, then its my win isn’t it Solomon?” Maria answered with a sinister smile, “So, what is it I got?”

“Oh is that so? And what is your opinion of them?”

“Fucking badasses.” Solomon answered without a second’s thought. “Each of em are worth five men, since deir own gods of wars are serving dem.”

“Hmph, seems like your Gods are shitty, eh?”

“Hehe, you are right.” Solomon said before his face grew wide and shook his face, “Damn it damn it, don’t make me go around saying shit. Yeah its an open truth but who wants their faces mauled by Herrons.”

“I got ya I got ya!” Maria answered with a smile of acceptance as another mug of meed was placed infront of them, “Now come on now, another round eh? A glass to our safe travels?”

“Sure, why the hell not!” Solomon answered while the two of them bashed their mugs together.

So they continued drinking into the night, both laughing like hell against their better judgement. Quite a few folk who were in the Tavern that night were not having a nice night thanks to the couple, but the moment they would catch the red eyes of Solomon most learned to shut up about their mania.

“Oh really, so you had the men put to death? Serves them for being Anarchs in my opinion, at least they are not bombing your cities.” Maria called out with a laugh.

“Pff, what the hell is bombing?” Solomon asked before laughing again, “Yeah I had their heads rolling real good. Serves them right!”

However as the two were bickering with each other, meed in each other's hand, one of the men who had finally had enough of their shit finally walked up to them. The two drunked fools took looks at him as the man approached, probably too stupid to realize Solomon’s eyes or the conversation they were having.

“Hey you two, shut your mouths up already.” He yelled with a fury in his voice, “Its fucking Wednesday and I need to go to fucking work tomorrow!”

“Oh you say that you insolent idiot I’ll-” Before Solomon could finish however Maria had already stepped forward, dragging behind her a rather large chair.

“What the hell are you-” Before the man could finish saying anything Maria gave him a nice wack across the face.

After the satisfying crunch of the chair Maria stood tall with a drunken frown, “Well Solomon, I guess we are not welcomed here anymore. Pay the bartender and lets get going.”

“Pff, alright.” He said while dumping a small fortune of gold at the wooden bar before grabbing another pair of drinks, “One of the road?”

“Sure~” Maria said accepting the drink, and then her memories gone after that.

There were some flashes of memory, such as when Maria received gave another kick to some random man’s groin. However those were but nothings compared to the sun hitting her face that morning.

“T-tun it off, someone turn it off!” Maria begged however the light only got more.

“S-sorry Mi-Maria.” Melody said while she finished opening the curtains, “It is getting close to noon now.”

“Ugh, I feel like shit. My throat hurts so much.” Maria said as she haphazardly got up from her bed. She noted quickly that she had little of her decency now, however quickly she noticed that all those cloths were at a corner of the room, “What happened last night?”

“Yeah get me some water.” Maria said before shaking her head, “And get me a damn Bacon Sandwich too.”

“A Bacon Sandwich?”

“Yes, I heard they help with hangovers.” Maria answered while slowly rising from her seat, “And do not use my name Melody, while we are in the Miaphate refer to me as Elizabeth Wyvern.”

“...” The maid froze for a moment as if processing the information given to her, “Uh, can I just refer to you are Mistress then?”

“I do not want you to regress Melody.”

“I will try my best after we leave this… place.” She claimed with a slightly shaky tone.

“Fine fine, just go get me my meal.”

With that the maid left, but only for a few minutes. In such a time Maria was able to rub her face a little bit to try and get some sort of feeling in it. This was of course followed by a series of trying to get her clothing together so atleast she had the decency to head outside at some point in the day. Maria of course suspected she was really slow at this, and she ended up taking long enough that Melody was back in her room with a small sandwich and water.

“Here you go Mistress.” Melody said as the plates were slipped into the woman’s hands.

“Thank you very much.” Maria answered while taking a delicious bite out of the material, “Mmm, so good.”

“Indeed it is Mistress.” Melody answered with a solemn smile.

Soon enough Maria consumed the entire meal, soon moving on towards her water while turning towards Melody, “So, is there anyone out there looking for me or Solomon this morning?”

The girl shook her head, “Not that I am aware of, though any men who come here seem to be scared off by the Morsemen standing guard around the Villa.”

“Hmm, figures.” Maria agreed with before giving a solemn sigh, “I… don’t want to know how I got the monkey though. Such a bothersome thing suddenly coming into my possession.”

“Indeed it is Mistress, indeed it is.”

“I’m taking a bath, Melody.” Maria said while groggily getting up, “Is there a good place to do that?”

“Indeed, there is a really nice bath house over there.” Melody said while guiding the now roughly dressed Maria, “While you are in there I will be taking care of your clothes if you do not mind.”

“That would be for the best.” Maria answered back before taking a peak at the coutry yard, “By the Lord…”

Indeed to Maria’s lamentations there was both a pony and monkey over there. Both beasts were currently entertaining the small group of Morseman who kept giving the monkey things to juggle. Honestly Maria did not know she got such talented beasts, but more honestly she did not care either.

Soon after they entered a modest sized room, which they explored further to find a goodness to honest bath house. Maria could sense a small amount of pride coming from Melody, likely in that she was able to find such a place without help from the other servants or guards.

“Alright Mistress, give me a moment to start drawing the water while you get your clothes off.” Melody said with a smile.

It did not take long, however Maria had to give Melody credit at figuring random things out. By the time she came out with only a few towels the place was filled with water, a small amount of steam dancing on the surface as it was being heated.

“Fufu, good work Melody.” Maria said with a smile before submerging herself into the waters, “My clothes are in the other room, so you can go on ahead.”

“Thank you Mistress.” Melody said before quickly leaving the room with haste.

Indeed the waters were relaxing, the feeling of the heat going over her body enough to make her lethargic. However troubles were satisfied by Maria just opting to relax within the waters. Indeed, she would continue to do this until Melody came back.

Well, that was until she quickly felt the tingling of a certain someone coming near. Was the fool coming to do something, or simply mistaken the running bath as a job of his own servants?

Maria could not help but feel a small plimp of anger coming along, and a murmer coming through her voice. Why could the man not realize that someone was in here, was not there not anything marking her….

Ah thats right, Melody took Maria’s clothes.

With a clicking of her tongue Maria lamented, soon being welcomed by a door slowly coming open from the far end of the room.

“Don’t you dare come in here Solomon, I do not know what happened last night, but what you are doing now has you sorely mistaken!”

“Gods damn it.” Maria heard a small bashing coming from the far end of the room, “Why do you have to take a bath at this time M… Elizabeth.”

“Ah good, you got my name right this time.” Maria jested before going once again into a yell, “Now get your ass turned around before I do it for you.”

There was a moment in which the only thing Maria could really hear was the water, however that moment went away in another moment, “Fine fine, I am not looking to get a death sentance.”

Soon after that Melody came around with a new pair of clothes, Maria quickly getting dressed and heading her way down the hallway. As she did so Maria noticed one of the few Servants Solomon bought here ducking into a door, way, to which Solomon emerged from.

“So, do you realize you should check if anyone is in the bath house first?” Maria asked the man with a icy stare.

“Yes yes I understand.” Solomon admitted while raising his hands, “My mistake and I have done no harm, fine with that?”

“I guess so, though once you get cleaned up we need to figure out what to do about the Monkey and Pony. You know how we got them?”

“No, not really. Best I remember was someone trying to knock me aside the head and you bashing his skull in.” Solomon admitted while scratching his head, “On that note make sure your things are fully packed. We are going to be traveling once I finish cleaning up.”

“So soon?”

“Indeed, while this place is vibrant it is nothing compared to my Capital. Well, see you in an hour.” Solomon said while giving a back wave to Maria.

Probably get some thoughts from the Morse regarding on the animals and how they tagged along with us
Even our Animal handling would just be too low to train a full blown riding assassin monkey sidekick, pumping up the skill would probably give us some better intuition when the otome's ungodly powers are controlling animals like Druids

With herself relived of whatever worries she had last night, Maria walked her way onto the courtyard where an obviously tiring monkey was trying its best to juggle a few shows. The Pony did not seem to care a lick about what happened though. Well horses are simple beasts, she should not be expecting much out of them.

As she approached one of the Morse who was probably getting tired of their entertainment noticed Maria’s approach. Without a care in the world the man approached her, “I don’t really recognize your face, are you by chance the Kingslayer?”

“Indeed I am.” Maria said with a small bow, “It is a pleasure to meet a Morseman again, it's been a while since I last set eyes on your drunken migs.”

“Hick, I guess you do remember my people.” He answered with a jest, “Names Kolk, pleasure to meet you.”

“Elizabeth Wyvern, or at least that is how I should be referred to as while we are here.” Maria placed her hands on her chin in thought, “So if you don’t mind me asking, do you remember what exactly happened last night?”

“What happened? Well from my understanding there was a small tussle near the Stadium as one of the ol’ acts was sold off.” The man responded with a laugh, “When they tried to get their act back through questionable means, I heard they got a chair to the face.”

“Oh lord, so you are telling me that I bashed some con artist’s face in?”

“Well thats what you were saying when we made it here.” The man laughed, “Pretty sure the Monkey is just hanging out because of the Miaph, so thats why their little con did not go through.”

Maria simply shook her head, “We would have fallen for the oldest trick in the book if we were not blessed by devious Gods.”

“You can tell me about it.” He laughed before brandishing a sword, “You also bragging to be the best fighter in the land, so mind if we test it?”

“You want to dual me now?”

“Of course, you were the one braggin to be King of the Chairs and such.” He answered back with a laugh.

“Of course you guys are quick to war.” Maria said while retrieving her Partisan Blade.

“You got to be, as we must be able to perform against the horrors of the Cold Winter and those who would do our friend ill.” Kolk said while brandishing a single handed axe.

“Your friend? Is Solomon so close to you all that he can be called your friend?”

“Indeed, I have watched the kid grow into one of the most powerful people on this side of the world.” The Morse said with a twirl of the axe, “Now lets see if he has a good taste in woman.”

With that the Morse gave a gladitorial yell, quickly covering the distance between both of them. Maria with her spear poised quickly went for a strike at the Morse’s jaw, however the man dodged swiftly even though he was in no position to do so.

With the retaliation countered he went for a strike of his own, the attack now being received by Maria’s spear as she quickly backed away to give some form of distance between the two fighters. Both received and batted away the other without much of a problem.

With the distance however Maria gained the advantage, and with a swift jab with the blade gave purchase to blood. The two fighters stopped for a moment, Maria giving a victorious smile as she stood over the man.

“My win, I got first blood.” Maria claimed with a nice amount of pride resonating in her voice.

“Indeed ya did, if I was pressed I’d have asked if you were a Shield Maiden.” The Morse joked while putting away his weapon.

“Thank you.” Maria said while putting away her blade.

“Bravo bravo, wish I could see another round!” The two fighters turned their heads to see Solomon giving a few claps with an entertained smile.

“I don’t know if I would want to fight one.” The Morse man joked with a snicker, “Shes one hell of a fighter thats for sure. Will makes a good wife for ya.”

“That much is obvious,” Solomon answered while his face was growing just the slightest bit red, “Come now, we need to get moving. If we are not careful we might have monsters on our tails.”

“Hmm, alright then.” Maria said with a slim smile, “Lead the way to our carts.”

With those words everyone got moving, getting things packed up before heading their way to a small caravan of carts. There were not like the carriages found in the Lord’s Lands, as they did not have anything comparable to walls. Instead they were open with a modest cloth roof placed over them.

However just getting into it Maria noticed that the quality of material was great. Soft cushions for her bottom and what might have been a primitive version of shock absorption was sighted on the bottom of the carriage.

“You did not waste a dime on these carts.” Maria said as she settled into a cart with Solomon, “Though they are not very ornate, was your plan to travel incognito?”

“Indeed it was.” Solomon admitted with a small smile, “It is too troublesome to travel when people know of your status. Too many have sought favors or begging for wealth, so I decided to just blend into the crowd.”

“Sounds like you just had a bad experience.” Maria said with a devious smile.

Solomon’s face got a little complicated for a moment, “I… guess you would be right there. Let me just say that I have had my transport raided by fools.”

“Fufu, I wish I saw this event now.” Maria teased with a smile, “But oh well, this is what happens when I have my own things to deal with. Though what happened to the Monkey and pony?”

“Them? I sent them with the Morse somewhere. Honestly all I know is the man I sent on the job had a few extra bottles of liquor when he came back before we left.”

“Hmph, kinda a pity, but oh well.” Maria said with a sigh, “Honestly I would not want to deal with a chimp, too messy. Though I am on the look out for a kitten if I ever come across one.”

“A kitten? Why would you need that?” Solomon asked with a raised brow.

“To get rid of an annoying bird.” Maria admitted with a cynical smile, “It would not be hard to just let nature take its course when it happens.”

“Hunting birds you say, I might have something for that but it will come later.” Solomon answered with his own devious smile, “In that matter, how is your battle against that odd girl anyways?”

Since nobody has a second anon supporting their vote I'm going to throw out my reasoning.

Without knowing our enemies movements we can easily be outplayed by their machinations. So it would be easier if we found ways to disrupt and disorganize their activities after they've already laid the groundwork. If our friend has any idea how to do that then it works out in our favor. If not, perhaps they can put us into contact with someone.

I'd say suddenly severing Chloe from her heathen god instead of killing her would utterly fuck up whatever plans are going on. The problem is figuring out how to forcibly and permanently do that instead of her god doing it or us having banish her every few hours since those aren't reasonable options.
Maybe learning why the gods have to use demigods to do that instead of personally would give us a clue that doesn't make the gods think we're trying to kidnap Solomon to bring him to our rape dungeon?

“Not too well,” Mari admitted with a sigh, “She has revealed her abilities just a little while ago, and many cannot tell the difference between her craft and miracles that are performed by the Lord.”

“That is, odd.” Solomon inferred before giving a solemn nod, “Though that might be because of how my Gods play their games. They do not need to fear something overarching like your Inquisition.”

“Indeed, that is true.” Maria gave a solemn nod in agreement, “Though I do not know what is happening now. For all I know, she could be rousing the common rabble to force a schism.”

“A schism? I guess if another God is involved that is possible.”

“Indeed, and I know she already has a following in the form of some Cultist.” Maria admitted with an explanation, “Its simply the problem of what are we to do about when they expand to include the common folk.”

“Hmm, well I do have an idea,” Solomon started with a small nod, “If you fear a mob, simply split them. Cause them to fight one another while you amass your own strength.”

“Of course that is someone who took over an entire Empire would say.” Maria answered with a small chuckle, “Though splitting their forces, how would I do that?”

Maria only got a shrug from Solomon, “I do not know your faith well enough to warrant suggestions, but making your enemy two who hate each other to death might be the best option.”

“Splitting them…” Maria thought about it more and more, “I… will need to figure out how exactly to do that.”

“Hmm, have you experienced that here in the Miaphate?” Maria asked the Demi-God, “Trying to manipulate those whose faith is obviously misplaced.”

“Hmm, indeed I have to great effect.” Solomon answered with a nod, “First I must answer you something. When it comes to our faith, while all the Gods are venerated in some way many of them form Cults of more fanatic followers.”

“So, like a hunter would join the cult of a hunting god and a warrior to war?”

“Indeed, that is the easiest distinction.” He answered before giving a devilish smile, “Though there are also those who are limited by region, such as those who rule over singular cities. Those fellows are the easiest to turn against one another, followed by the Cults of opposing views.”

“Interesting, interesting.” Maria mumbled with a nodding of the head, “And if I may ask who are the highest Gods? The ones who call the most amount of worship.”

“Hmm, off the top of my head the most influential are Baltic of the Oasis and Sarhar of the Desert. Unlike others they command a fear unseen by even my own ancestor.”

“Because they are the ones who create Monsters.”

“Indeed, and they care little for humans. We are essentially bribing them every night to never bring their monsters upon us mortals.”

“That is a cynical way of seeing things.”

“But it is true, it is said that once Baltic ruled over the deserts which were just waters. Now Sarhar rules it, claiming vast territory from the vastly weakened Baltic. However from my knowledge Baltic holds great territory in the south.”

Solomon happily placed his hand upon his chest, “However after those two we come to who my Ancestor is, Alkain of the Sun. It is said he was the one who commanded the other Gods, and as such his rulership is reflected below the heavens in that his descendents will always inherit the throne of the Miaphate.”

“Somehow I feel there is a catch to that.”

“You would be right, as he is simply the God of Rulers and light. He carries little sway across when compared to Kilt of the Crop, Messic the Mason, and Decim of Brutal War.” Solomon answered with a shaking of the head, “If any of their cults got together and tried, they could likely overthrow me with simply the amount of bodies they command.”

“Hmm, then that does give me a question that you might be able to answer,” Maria started while looking towards Solomon with a wanting desire, “Do you know where the Lord fits into all this?”

“Your God?” Solomon’s brow rose as he seemed to think to himself for a moment, “I know he came from our lands, most saying that he was a city God who got greedy. What I am sure of is the aftermath of his scheme.”

“I know that part, that before the city was sacked the Lord spirited away a group of his followers to what is now the Lord’s lands.”

“Indeed, though I always wondered about that event myself. Seems kind of odd for a simple city God to not only commit such an act, but allow them to hold out as long as they did.” He said before giving a solemn nod, “Let alone his Saints, those never occur in our lands.”

“Do you all rely on Demi-Gods that much?”

“Indeed, any person capable of casting a miracle is related in some form to their patron.” Solomon said before pointing towards his eyes, “The easiest way to tell is if their eyes are red. That means they have inherited the blood of the Divine, and are capable of utilizing it.”

“So those priest from the Collesium, they were Demi-Gods as well?”

“Children of Sarhara most likely.” Solomon admitted with a wave of the hand, “Though most of her bloodlines are so diluted that they can only perform simple rites. She, like Baltic, barely have any children who are monsters.”

As Solomon finished his words the earth seemed to quake for a moment. Everyone around Maria seemed to suddenly go on high alert as large amounts of dust and sand were kicked up from afar. Maria’s eyes quickly moved to look over there, and she could feel the putrid state of things.

“Tsk, seems I spoke her name in vain too much.” Solomon sighed while standing up, “Kolk, can we get some extra speed on these steeds?”

“I can try but right now might not be the best time to run. I think one or two of those damn beasts are having a skirmish over there.” The Morse answered before gaining a smile, “Though this is the girl’s first time probably seeing this, I think I see a nice vantage point if you wanna watch it.”

“Hmm, I would not mind catching a glimpse of it.” Maria announced while shaking her head of a silly thought, “But I would say that we need to avoid the creatures, especially just from what I have seen earlier.”

“Alright, we’ll take the scenic route.” The Morse said while giving the reins another snap.

Maria watched from the side as they soon went around a large dune of sand and rock, revealing the creatures fighting. There were two kinds of creatures, a large one who looked to be a rather slimmed but strong lizard, while the numerous worms seemed to continuously attack it from all sides.

The lizard was powerful, as with a single snap of its jaws ripped some of the earthbound worms right from the ground and gave a chomp to swallow them whole. However the worms were simply bashing themselves against the creature’s hide, their beaked mouths taking just the little bits of flesh with them.

“So its a Viserator and Borrers.” Solomon said as he looked over the battle himself, “Let's get moving, best we do not involve.”

“That lizard would have made a nice coat.” The Morseman joked as he snapped the reins.

So they continued to travel, the battle before being the greatest sight that they saw on their travels. Now though Maria was starting to understand the reason for the people’s aggressive worship of their gods. Those beasts, if any of them challenged a standing wall, was probably strong enough to tear through its brick like a cannonball.

Yes people could build to try and protect themselves against the beasts, but then they would be vulnerable to assault by neighboring Lords. Even if everyone swears fealty to Solomon, that does not mean they can follow through with their claims of their neighbors.

“Walls must stand tall and worship must have unprecedented fervor.” Maria mumbled to herself, “That is how power is maintained.”

“You’ve just about got it.” Solomon answered her mumblings with a smile, “However enough of the Theological, we are coming across my city now.”

Maria looked out to see a massive city sitting near a river, the size of which was immense to her sight. The walls, many tall as the sky and others short and strong against what Maria assumed was the great beasts.

“Ealaa Al'ard.”

The approach of such a massive place was staggering, Maria would be quick to admit. It was not much of a problems getting past the first set of walls, a pair of twin door like gates meant to keep out the monstrous hordes from getting into the city to destroy it all. This however was followed by a massive drop gate, this one obviously meant to keep out the intruders of the mortal kind.

Behind that construct finished a moat with another lower wall which gave Maria a question, “Why are there two walls meant for monsters?”

“Well because there have been times when they’ve broken through the outer and inner walls.” Solomon answered with pride plastered upon his face, “The last one was the Monarch of the Viserators, this wall being the one where we finally stopped her rampage.”

From behind such a wall Maria could see scattered pieces and towers, but now that the doors leading in opened they were welcomed by a grand ensemble of men and commerce. Maria’s eyes widened as she saw all of this before getting a small smile, “Solomon, mind if we go out and explore the city?”

“Explore? Its a little early for that an-” However the man was not able to finish as Maria quite literally yanked him off the cart and into the crowd. The Morse of course were surprised at such an action, but then laughed as they remembered Maria’s skill at fighting.

Maria’s eyes only got a moment to gaze upon the works about her, but from just this spot there were no stalls of men simply selling wares. No stalls were replaced with buildings and warehouses, all of which sold products ranging from jewels to blades.

This was followed by the overwhelming smell of food crossing over Maria’s nose, as if inviting her to come and dine with the exquisite quality. Honestly Maria would claim it a miracle that there were so many different kinds of food and drink.

“I see you are enjoying yourself.” Solomon said with that pride still not erased from his face, “This is simply the places nearest to the entrance, deeping in we have the grand coliseum and the Temple of the Gods. Both of which even someone of your faith and culture would find exquisite.”

Sounds like our early proposed social advances might work for that dealing with her, but I feel like we'd not get em done fast enough to spread beyond our borders, nor should we be stuck fixing Austin's bullshit problems.
Maybe orchestrate a "fake" rivalry with Elric?
I think rapid technological advancement for better quality of life might work? Make sure Lucien/Chloe doesn't steal credit for Albert's crop rotation improvement ideas?
Chloe has a Good short term game while anything we do has to be long term since our main good comes from destroying misc demons and those are kept secret.

Maybe hire a propagandist to write tales of our adventures if we don't do it ourselves? Tales of Elizabeth Wyvern? It wont be of us but we totally look and act like her so we get popularity by association?

“You do know entering a Temple devoted to all of my enemies would be suicide, right?” Maria asked the man with a coy smile.

“Can’t a man have just a little pride in his Empire’s works. If my memory serves me right, it was my great great grandfather who built such a place.” Solomon answered with a smile.

“Well you should thank him after tries to murder you for your silliness.” Maria answered before picking a random collection, “For now though I just want to explore the Markets. With the place filled with so much life, there surely are treasures found among these.”

“Hmm, you might be right. Let us explore then!”

With that the pair began walking about the place, noting the variety of things shown in the store rooms. Of course there were the things Maria noticed earlier, but she also noticed the large amount of artful dishware and a great many spices. Maria could not help but snatch some of that for herself, as the Second Prince got Maria to enjoy its taste.

Soon however Maria and Solomon crossed by a large armaments shop, which pirked an odd question from Solomon, “Say… Elizabeth. I noticed that you did not have any pieces of armor packed.”

“Armor? I have the chest plate, would that not be good enough?”

“You are the person standing in hostile territory, and I would want to make sure my precious wife does not suffer a grevious wound fighting who knows what.”

“Potential Husband.”

“Guh, H-husband!” To Maria’s surprise Solomon grew a small tinge red at those words.

“Fufu, indeed, you are the one who said you would be my wife.”

“I-I, shit.” The young man who had conquered an empire diverted his face as if in a deep embarrassment, “L-lets just get you something better to wear, and a weapon if you need it.”

“Thank you~” Maria said while the two of them entered the doors.

The place the two of them walked into of course had a series of weapons covering every wall, pillar, and even some of the salesman’s counter. Across the place was also a variety of armors, each of which Maria would admit were quite nice in terms of style and assumed ability.

“Ah, welcome!” The man standing at the counter called out with a business smile, “I am Verie, pleasure to meet the two of you.”

“Indeed, same to you.” Solomon said while quickly getting infront of Maria, “I am looking for some armor for this girl here, can you do it?”

“S-sure?” The man answered shakily while looking Maria over for a moment, “There is nothing in Furge’s teachings saying I can’t. Uh, come over here so I can get a better look at you girl.”

Maria gave a solemn nod, taking off the cloak as she moved forward. The man quickly took a few looks over Maria, his eyes widening just a little bit, “Interesting, you are quite well built for a woman.”

“Thank you.” Maria answered with pride caking her voice, “So what are we looking at, I assume I atleast get to choose what my armor will be.”

“Hmm, indeed that is true.” He answered before quickly presenting the armor stands behind him, “These are the main styles that I use, which are Light, Medium, and Heavy armors.”

Maria took a look over each of them, quickly discounting the light armor for simply not having enough regions protected. After that however Maria had to make a hard decision against either the medium and heavy armors.

However Maria had to choose, “I will take the Medium armor.”

“Understood, now if you do not mind if I take a few measurements?”

“Nope, go on ahead.” Maria announced before relieving herself of her cloak so that all measurements would be more accurate.

“So, Verie was it.” Solomon began as the man came across the counter to began his work, “I expect great things out of this armor. If you do well, I could easily put in a good word for you higher up.”

“Sorry sir, I do not need that.” The man said with a small chuckle, “I…”

“I’m not lying,” Solomon said with a pair of red eyes now visible, “Make this armor your Magnum Opus and I will make sure you get far.”

“I-I understand my liege!” The man’s hands were almost shaking as now as if under the effects of both fear and ambition, “Alright Miss, I have finished your measurements! Is there anything else that you need of me?”

“Hmm, well if you fashion me a sword, small shield, and chakram that would be nice.” Maria answered with a coy smile.

“CH-chakram? No I will find it, just you wait!” He announced before quickly scribbling a few things down, “Be back here in a week, I will have your armor done by then!”

With that they left the place as Maria began to talk, “So, what will we do now?”

“I think we have spent enough time out of the streets.” Solomon claimed while looking up at the sun, “Indeed the Morse have probably told them that we will have a late arrival.”

“Well that much I expect.” Maria admitted while presenting her hand towards Solomon, “Now come, you should lead this lady to your Palace so that we may wine and dine together.”

“Indeed we shall.” Solomon said while accepting her hand, “I will prove to be the best host.”

With that they traveled their way down and through the streets. Maria watched as the buildings became somehow larger and more elaborate, each and every one of them proving to hold immense value. Indeed the place was shining as a centerpiece to the grand empire that is the Miaphate.

Soon enough though the buildings become more and more sparse, the place starting to gain actual patches of grass here and there. Maria quickly noticed on her left a massive building which easily gave her a disgusting feeling, however that was followed by another place that Maria quickly recognized.

“Ah, the Palace of Alkain.” Solomon announced while leading Maria towards the front gate, “If you do not mind, please raise your hood for me.”

Maria gave a simple nod, covering her face from the guards as they slowly approached the front gates. She could feel the eyes of all the guards about her, however what were modestly hostile gazes became complacent as they arrived infront of it.

“My Miaph, it is a pleasure to see you again.” The guard said as Solomon’s eyes dropped the illusion fully.

“Same to you Nabo.”

The obviously Miaph guard turned his ire towards Maria, “Who is this girl? You do not normally bring wenches from the bars and the Morse had already arrived before you.”

Maria felt insulted, however she held back just to hear Solomon’s response, “How dare you talk to a potential Empress like that. Do you not hold any shame?”

“P-potential Empress? Have you gone made Solomon?”

“I have not, now make way.” Solomon demanded while getting closer to the man’s face, “Lest you suffer the ire of a Mad Miaph.”

“...” The man did not say a word, and instead backed away to allow Maria though towards the gate.

As they did Maria simply glazed towards Solomon, who looked as annoyed as fucking hell about the entire experince.

The Palace was exquisite, that much Maria would quickly admit while looking over the grand walls that stood above her. However the feeling Maria got was something she could not really shake.

“Something the matter?” Solomon asked while stopping in the middle of a hallway.

“Nothing really changed from when I was last here.” Maria admitted with a melancholic sigh.

“That is to be expected, I have only held my throne for a few months.” Solomon admitted with a charming smile, “And depending on your decisions, you can choose a new look for this palace.”

“An interesting prospect, but one that will not be decided yet.” Maria answered while shaking her head, “Though I am a little worried where my Maid currently is. We did abandon her on the cart.”

“Indeed we did, she must be in the room I picked out for you. Let us go!” Solomon answered while quickly changing directions and walking down another grand hall. Of course, since they were holding hands the entire time, Maria was brought with him.

Just as before Maria noted the wide halls and epic amounts of glamor all about the place. Unlinke the Villa where they met, there were vastly more servants about the place. Maria however quickly noted two more things, that they all had much larger features than before and that their eyes always seemed to lie upon Maria.

However that did not stop them, and soon they came upon a pair of large doors with a mute hallway. It was only when the doors were opened that Maria could see an odd rather lady dressed in red garments giving Melody all the ins and outs of interrigation.

“You said the Miaph jumped off the cart with your Master, who the hell does she think she is.”

“M-my Mistress is a powerful woman! Do not say her name in so much vain!”

Maria could feel her blood boil hearing this, and though she was sure Solomon would do something… Well Maria wanted to do something herself.

Honestly this might work in our favor since:

We can't just go around killing Solomon's family every time they talk shit during our journey and revealing ourselves to his pantheon. It would get in the way of actually arriving at our destination.

His entire family being assholes does give us (extra) very good reasons to turn how his marriage proposal. We aren't going to sit down and walk into a nest of vipers. We'd be stuck having to kill off enemies for the rest of our natural life if we assume we never fail to stop the assassinations By the time we're done stabbing there might be nobody competent left to delegate responsibility to as a ruler and that's not even thinking about our bloodbaths causing open rebellion from the gods and populace.

Solomon's going to have to be the one to keep her in check.

While she has clearly marked herself an enemy, we don't need to invite even more by having to do the dirty work ourselves. We can probably just give her a lead laced/painted teacup via an intermediary or something (Albert's dad seems unscrupulous enough) on the way back since nobody knows it's a poison until the 18-19 hundreds. I suppose this looks back into the previous point about it being Solomon's responsibility. He has to handle them or we will do so ourselves.

Sure we could ignore her and I agree we should try not to kill her but as a noble we can't afford to let them stain or tarnish our honor so we must find a solution obviously an honor duel would only occur If she's too dumb to take back her statements and poisoning her I'm against as this is a matter of honor rather than practicality so poison would send the wrong message
>>
>>4520746
I'm not saying ignore her.
At some point all we have to do is ask who the Miaph is when she tries to give a stupid order to remind her of who the actual ruler is. I'm probably getting ahead of myself, but she reeks of people using the authority of others as if it's their own.
I also think we can swing not killing her as a major favor to Solomon as well to offset the fact that we're going around accepting gifts from him right now I don't wanna be indebted to him at the end of this journey lest it is used for centuries of casus belli by salty ottomans.

The sight before Maria was something she could not really stand for, however she was also able to do a great many things. However one of those things required a little bit of showman ship, so with a tight tug Maria kept Solomon from saying anything that would have come out of his mouth.

With a straight face Maria gave him a hushed look, soon traveling her way towards the woman with Solomon still in hand.

“I can say that bitch’s name in as much vain as I want! To think that the Miaph would be stupid enough to collect a girl from the Lorlands, tsk. What does the git think he is getting at?”

“You, I…” Melody’s expression, once in a total panic, soon melted away as her eyes glanced over towards Maria. The Maid looked like she had seen a Saint, though quickly she assumed an stance of attention.

“What the-” The older woman turned around to face both Maria Solomon standing behind her, “Ah, Miaph, a pleasure to see you barging in. May I ask what this girl on your arm is?”

“Oh ho ho! Are you really going to say that after calling me a bitch?” Maria quickly announced while stepping forward, “I would say you were talking behind our backs, but at last you were infront of us the whole time.”

“Hmph, so you heard that?” The hag like woman said while shaking her head, “It doesn't really matter, you are simply a flimsy whim of his anyways to bat me away.”

“Shahwa, do not speak as if you know me.” Solomon growled at the girl with his eyes giving a red shine.

“Do not lie, you are simply taking this girl in to keep yourself from being matched with my priestesses.” The woman finally looked them straight into the eyes, Maria getting a full look at the ruby red eyes that she possessed, “And you, by the end of the week I shall see you taken out by the very guard that escorted the two of you here.”

“Like you have any power over me.” Maria answered with a cynical smile, “It is cute how you believe you can hold power over me even when people like you have tried before.”

“You underestimate Loster, girl, by my Godesses name I shall have you-”

“Stop!”

For the first time ever since Maria had met Solomon, she had finally felt the true power of a demi-god come out of him. It was of course a sickening feeling, but Maria remained unmoved by the demands. However both the woman infront of him and Melody both instinctually bowed to Solomon.

It was… quite the horrifying sight.

“You… you will regret showing your authority over me boy.” The woman said as she steadily rose from the floor, “I will take my leave.” And like that she left the room.

“By my ancestor.” Solomon said while rubbing his face, “Let us go eat. Yeah let go eat.”

I'm still going with my original lead poisoning plan and depending on how she acts during our journey, we can decide if we only affect her or drive an entire major temple mad through means that won't be detectable for a few hundred years.

An even more outrageous option would be to kill lobster er I mean Loster depending on how gods function.

Eg, that vampire saint had a decent bit of power despite being sealed in a chapel. Are some of the gods actually sealed and using demigods for influence? If so we could attack/kill their god directly if we were arrogant enough... A shame that we never really talked more with the clergy about how the gods interact with demigods.

I think i've overloaded this vote with too much talking already, so a consideration for the future to ask some other time if anons think this is a good idea is.

Are there any acolytes of our God still in the region that never left? Even if our God is only a minor one in the region due to being a former city god, it still being around helps remove all sorts of red flags about our identity the pantheon might pick up on if they see us busting out holy swords against everything.

“Hmm, interesting.” Maria said while watching the fool leave what was to be her room, “I guess there are always people like that here.”

“Indeed, my apologies for you having to meet her. And to you yourself Melody.” Solomon said while giving a curt nod to the girl.

“Th-thank you” Maria responded while slowly rising from her spot, “Sh-she was not the kindest woman.”

“Indeed she is not, and I will need to find out how she got into my palace.” Solomon responded before tightening Maria’s hand, “I think now is a good time for us to go get something to eat if you do not mind Elizabeth.”

“Indeed that is fine.” Maria answered back while allowing Solomon to take the lead, “Melody follow, but do not say much. I do not want you to be bullied by that woman again.”

“Understood, Mistress.” The girl said before quickly falling in line behind the couple.

Soon enough they were traveling the halls, Maria noting that they were getting slightly more and more larger. During the walk of course Maria had to scheme about the woman’s murder, as she was surely about to do something dreadful to Maria. What was the dreadful thing Maria cannot really say, but she knew it must have been some form of curse.

Now Maria at one point did convert a large amount of Maids to her whim, though it was obvious none of these were the same. What would she need to do to get something slipped into that woman’s tea, or maybe even an accident where no cleric can get to her soon enough.

As Maria’s musing were finishing they ended up in quite a large dinning room, Maria noting the size of the place seemed to be meant for at least twenty people. However now there were only five, all obviously Servants of some demeanor.

The gave a humbled bow upon their approached, though Solomon seemed annoyed, “You are all allowed to leave. Those found within the nearby halls shall be put to death, understood?”

They all gave nods, though Maria could tell there was no real emotion behind it. With that done however Solomon guided Maria to the far end of the table. There was, as to Miaphate Tradition, no chair there but they sat there without issue.

“I am sorry about these problems you are seeing.” Solomon said with a smile that was obviously trying to look good, “While I have the armies under my thumb and to my knowledge the only legitimate heir, they are trying their best to teach me my place.”

“Indeed, that seems to be the case.” Maria admitted with a small chuckle, “Though will you follow through with that threat made earlier?”

“I… do not know yet. Most of the Maids here are either daughters of warlords, merchants, or of the clergy.”

“Well, at least we are finally able to eat something.” Maria said with a solemn smile, “It seems though I will need to start some pruning, atleast one flower right now.”

To elaborate, since the gods spread monsters around, any attempt to invade the general Austin area renders most of the land useless for cultivation and settlement if they win. It's much better to just have a trade with us since the Miaphate can't actually utilize the resources like we can.
ergo any conquest of us is just a useless expense unless there are other factions with their own personal reasons for invading like the gods keeping old grudges.
This had better not be Asherah still being salty about her divorce.

Personally I hope we can get religious tolerance in !not turkey so we can eventually unify into the glorious nation of kain or something more reasonable like treaties about pillgrames going through his lands and stuff so that faithful can visit the origon of our faith and so we can put a stop to the tyranny of their gods

So the two began to eat, Maria picking up a small plate to collect all her food. The food did smell quite good, and taking a bite out of it quickly proved that Maria’s nose was right. However she could not help but feel the meat was much more on the… gamey side.

“Solomon, what kind of meat is this?”

“Falster Meat.” He replied while getting himself a nice chunk out of it, “If you are wondering, yes this meat is indeed of Monsters. Do you expect anything less when you eat at the Ruler of an entire empire?”

“Hmm, it was just a thought. Kinda wished it had a little bit more fat on it to give the meat an extra kick to it.”

“Fat Monsters are hard to come by.” Solomon laughed while shaking his head.

“Indeed,” Maria said before finally settling to finish their little small talk, “So I do wonder, who exactly are your enemies in the Empire?”

“My enemies?” Solomon once again gave a laugh, “I have plenty of them, so many I might not be able to say all their names.”

“Then just give me the name of those who have the chance of killing you~”

“Then that is easy enough. Right off the top of my hand I can name you the Priesthood of Loster, Goddess of Love and Fertility. You have already met their Head Priestess.”

“Seems like a dangerous and deranged woman.”

“Indeed, though her mood is made as such because I never took a girl’s hand.” He admitted with a coy smile, “And it was only doubled because I have denied any attempt that her Sisters have tried.”

“Hmph, quite the humorous rivalry that can be fixed with a simple marriage.” Maria snickered while the man just gave a sigh.

“Besides her there is also the Paladons of Decim. Their forced have been weak for a few years ever since the failed invasion of MaKain.” He said while breaking a small smile, “On the flip side their cousins, Paladins of Herious God of Just War have been serving with me. Though if I do not commit to a battle in about 10 years both will try to have my head.”

“So the Gods force the Miaphate to expand?”

“Indeed, and as you can easily tell Decim desires War at all cost while Herious vouches for Wars that will always be won. The only reason Herious was not going into MaKain was the Miaph at the time had no just claim and smooched too close to Decim.”

“I assume more weight was placed on that last part?”

“Indeed,” Solomon said with a sigh to finish, “after them we have clerics of Heskor, Milore, and whatever cults decide to hate me these days.”

First find out who is spying, then get rid of that Loster skank Shahwa.

If we can do it then pit her against the followers of Decim, but I can't think of a way to do that yet.
>>
>>4521828
So us marrying Solomon invites nonstop invasions into our homeland? That makes Herious possible allies until the wedding is either called off or somehow actually happens.(If we're getting married then Herious gets a just war)
Loster being a goddess of love and fertility makes her head priestess unknowingly at odds with her god.

>Catch the spy

>>4521750
I think we technically already have that open. it's just a bit hard to do because the gods demand worship we won't give them.
Trade still requires us to have something to trade. We need to start getting our operation paperclip as well as maybe some minor schools/industry running before we start talking about trade. Working on trade deals now means we can flop or people know to steal from us before we even have our first product. It's better to benefit our people with he new inventions first. That being said, we can absolutely start trading for rubber from whatever the India equivalent is before the rest of the world has a use for it. We just need a little bit of sulphur to vulcanize it for durability and we end up with an invaluable resource for modern inventions. France should be doing major greenhouse experiments around now which means we could get an eccentric noble from there to give custom orders for molded rubber parts if diplomatic relations are ok.

As for safe passage, Solomon doesn't have the authority to order the gods to fuck off away from any pilgrims we send. Even their capitol nearly got wrecked by monsters. It might be better for tech to improve enough that we have a sea route via being able to make metal steam or coal powered ships to resist whatever sea monsters lurk in the depths.
Hold up. Can we use monsters as a natural resource if can get the right chemical ingredients from their bodies?

“So how in the world did things come to that?” Maria had to asked while ripping another piece of meat for herself, “Is there not any ablebody organization of simple men representing themselves?”

“Pff, no not here in the Miaphate.” Solomon laughed with a pathetic smile, “The Merchants have come close of course, but even can fall under Septus, God of Gold and Commerce.”

“So its because the Demi-Gods are just that much better than humans?”

“Indeed that is so.” Solomon answered while giving a rip of his meat, “Including the fact that our bodies will always stay youthful no matter our age, we each hold a piece of our ancestor running through our blood. It can form things like being able to use god-like abilities to Magic.”

“So man will never be able to compete.”

“Well, I never said they could not compete.” Solomon said with a small chuckle, “The most recent example would be MaKain, and that the Dragon himself lead a large army to be slaughtered upon the waters of his land. The river ran red, and now Decim is regarded as the weaker of the two Gods of War.”

“So you took over with their support?”

“No, not really.” Solomon answered again, “Another example of men who perform almost as well as Demi-Gods, the Morse. Large muscles and a tolerance to pain almost unheard of here, there is even the rumor that they experience a white hot rage if their Gods find their battle entertaining.”

“Interesting, I wonder where their Gods came up with that idea.”

“Who knows, maybe its not really their Gods doing it.” Solomon admitted with a cynical smile, “I have even seen followers of The Traitor assume such a state.”

“I guess this world is just filled with unexpected events.” Maria said with a small chuckle, “Or maybe there is something in their water.”

“Hehe, if there is I would love to drink it.” Solomon answered before finishing his meal.

As they talked Maria took a moment to breathe in and out as she enjoyed the remainder of her meal. While it was an enjoyable meal she could only give a sigh as she rose from her seat, “Ah that was such a good meal! Why don’t you tell me a good story.”

“A story eh?” Solomon said with a big smile.

“Indeed, like how did you defeat the last of your rivals.” Maria said, before silently rising from her seat.

Solomon was obviously a little confused by this action, but decided to play it out, “Indeed indeed, however I do not plan for it to be my greatest achievement. No that will come later.” Solomon laughed.

As he did so Maria had already removed her shoes, her bare feet much more silent then wearing them. Melody herself seemed confused for a moment, though Maria gave a simple wave of her hand dictating which direction she was to go.

“Honestly it was very easy, as the first thing I took was this very city!” Solomon laughed with a slap on the knee, “It was of course to secure the center of power, and the Morse were more than willing to go fight.”

With those words Maria silently drifted towards the doors, slowly taking out the blade that was hidden within her clothing.

“With a simple move I had several men slayed, the City Guard proving no match for their betters. They were proven both powerful and fruitful allies that I might forever be indebted to.”

Maria and Melody were now at the doors, Melody holding a side down the hall from Maria. They were waiting for just the right moment.

“However in the end, after taking the city, I found myself missing the one thing I was looking for.”

With a push Maria slammed the door open, sending someone flying to the ground. It was quickly identified as a Maid Servant, the woman quickly facing Maria’s blade as Solomon walked up towards the girl in question.

“Well, I will leave what I was looking for, for later.” Solomon gave a sigh in resignation, “Bring her in here.”

The woman did not say a word, but rose to her feet. She seemed to look both ways, quickly realizing that thanks to Melody all her escapes were covered. Solemnly she entered the room, her head dropped in shame.

“Tsk, I thought I told you maids that even standing in the hallway was off limits. Why is it that my Lover found you so easily?”

The maid did not say a word.

“Tsk, Elizabeth if you may remove what covers her face.” Maria did not waste a moment doing so, revealing a pale face with what Maria could only describe as a dirty red color, Russet.

“A thin-blood.” The Dictator could only give a laugh, “That means you belong to some Noble Family. Indeed that would be troublesome just killing you here and now.”

You got sent right into a trap and I am the only one that can help you. Unlike them I don't easily throw away the lives of those under me.
If implied hostages were used we can just take them with us back to our lands. They'd be safe so long as they aren't caught angering the gods to an extreme like we did.
>>4522412
You can still get somebody to confess to heresy and our isekai knowledge lets us know we can just waterboard em to show no proof of torture if we ever get far gone enough to do that. I just prefer reserving torture for when playing actually evil characters since they have no qualms about effectiveness anyway. Bribing them with a more lenient sentence like not being tortured to death seems reasonable.

I'm not sure what made the connection in my head, but monster meat probably isn't good in the long term. They're at the top of the food chain and everything at the top of the food chain is littered with toxins and parasites as they're gathering up everything that had something from beneath them in the entire food chain.

While recruiting her may be of interest to us later on I would rather we didn't recruit the enemy when they have displayed nothing noteworthy we can't find elsewhere as us successfully recruiting them will show us that theyre willing to betray their master and considering she has no notable talents that we can't find from a more trustworthy rando back home or somewhere else I would rather we don't take her

>Get this intruder plastered, by force

>>
>>4522524
We didn't recruit her at all. We gave her the illusion of choice by letting her pick between immediate death and having to help the Morsemen fight monsters while having a hope of survival.
I'm just also keeping in mind the possibility that this mindbreaks her with sheer terror before she has to flee to the lands of the lord and convert to our religion. The fact that youactually got tricked within the first sentence or two when you aren't the one desperate to live shows how effective this can be.
>>
>>4522524
That betrayal logic also ignores that the entire palace of maids when we were captive were useful traitors or the fact that we can just leave them as a regular worker with no connection to anything she can betray afterwards while possibly using her demigod bloodline as a long term asset if she settles down with a nice pious lad. She's a quick source of knowledge into how (Loster?) operates and after we get it really isn't much effort to let her have asylum or spend time in a convent.Seriously , we're a saint. Getting converts from even the Miaphate is at least a minor feat to add to our legend.
We gotta research demigods more to know why they are used as the main source of influence by these gods. Just being in the Miaphate alone right now is shedding light on how Chloe's abilities operate and their connection to her god. With so many demigods running around it's getting more and more viable to learn if there's a way to cut one off from their god.

“Fufu, then we will do the opposite.” Maria announced while putting her weapon away, “Come now, there is surely some wine nearby for us all to drink.”

“W-wine?” The maid in a stuttered surprise.

“Yes, wine. Now come on.” Maria nubly took a few steps behind the maid. If she thought there was going to have a chance at escaping, well Maria had other ideas for her.

So they walked to the table, Solomon looking modestly amused at the entire affair. Seeing as she was the only one able, Melody quickly ran infront of them and took out the jug that was filled to the brim with fine wine. With a nibblness that was obviously trained, the liquid was poured into several cups nearby. When her job was done, Melody moved to exactly where Maria was standing, relieving the girl to take a seat right next to the traitorous maid.

Maria was getting a death glare, however she just rolled with it was presented a cup, “Come on now, take a drink. I assure you its not poisoned, unless you poisoned it beforehand.”

Slowly the girl took the cup, taking in a sip. The girl obviously wanted to stop, but Maria’s deepinging stare was enough to force her otherwise. She did not stop until the glass was empty, settling it onto the table most cautiously.

“There you go, here, have another.” Maria said while pouring another glass for the girl, “Though now that we are sharing drink, I must ask you, what is your name?”

“Matarid Aleahira.” She answered and to Maria’s ears not a lie was in there.

“Well it is a pleasure to meet you Matarid, I am Elizabeth if you do not already know.” Soon the Devilish girl moved over another full drink of wine, “Come now, another sip wouldn’t hurt.”

[Conservation Success]

It went like this for a little while, Maria using the drink to erode whatever barriers the girl had. The more she drank the more words she spoke, and the more an actual emotion came through. Indeed playing with a person like this was the definition of Devilish, but really Matarid was the one who started it.

“I… am s-sorry for spppyin’ on y-you M-Miaph.” She said while shakily getting on her knees.

“Hmm, I thank you for admitting it.” Solomon said while giving a glance towards Maria, “But I cannot forgive you for such a transgression.”

“Hic hic.” The girl grew a few tears and was obviously has way too much alcohol in her system, “I was just told to, that I would get myself a husband doing it.”

“Seems like an extremely high payment for something so simple.” Maria admitted while taking a bite out of a nearby apple.

“Hic, is it? I… don’t know anymore.”

“Come on now, you are not dead yet are you?” Maria said with a smile, “Even if it is obvious they would want to betray you, its not like you have completely fallen for them.”

“I… don’t know.” She said with another sob.

Maria and Solomon looked at one another for a moment, Maria simply giving a shrug as she presented the girl some bread, “Well, who did send you here? Must have been some dreadful fellows that is for sure.”

“A-Alster.” She said while accepting the piece of bread from Maria.

To those words Solomon gave a small sigh while rising from his place, “Alster, as if Alster Head Priest of the God Heskor?”

“Y-yes.” She answered with a steady nod.

“Fucking idiots.” Solomon rubbed his face a little before turning towards Maria, “Heskor is the God of Ealaa Al’ard. The priest hood has not liked me ever since I have taken a claim upon this city and made it into my own.”

“Is this place not the Capital of the Miaphate?”

“It is, but normally the Miaph does not hold direct control over its affairs. I have been taking control from them for some time though, so I guess they’ve began to sneak spies among my servants.”

“That is very troublesome, especially since we cannot really verify all of them.” Maria mumbled before looking at the girl who was now barely keeping her head up, “Now what to do with her?”

Basically the biggest slap in the face we can give these guys is regular humans or thing bloods outranking them and it diverts attention from Solomon since they'll want to kill this guy first. It also opens up her giving false information about a different sect (like Loster) attacking. It's more risky, but a much higher reward.
>>

Gotta be careful with pitting Loster against them though. There's a tiny chance the husband payment was actually setup by Loster cultists instead of just bullshitting the girl.
I kinda suspect a second spy using this girl as the decoy after we got into a false sense of security but that doesn't seem like the sort of thing QM would do. She's gonna need to go missing and pretend she was trapped hiding from us in a closet since she's too drunk to keep her story straight.

“Well, for now I will be taking this girl with me.” Maria said while helping the drunken girl onto her feet, “Will that be a problem Solomon?”

“I personally do not see a problem with it, but will you have a way of keeping her locked inside?”

“Hmm, I still need to figure some of those things out myself. I cannot say if I want to gaslight her or simply have some Morseman watch over her the entire time.” Maria answered with a small chuckle, “They are modestly reliable guards, as long as they are on your side.”

“Indeed they would be.” With that Solomon made his way to Maria’s side and grabbed one side of the drunken fool, “Need a little help?”

“Sure, I can use it.”

“Guh, I aaam gonna me in… so much trouble.” The maid said as Maria and Solomon took her towards the rooms.

Of course on the way over there were a few maids around, but now most of them were looking upon them in confusion. Maria could not blame them, as here the ruler of an entire Empire was helping her carry an unconscious maid.

Soon enough they arrived in Maria’s room, dumping the maid on a small series of pillows, “Phew, that was way too long.” Maria said with a smile.

“Indeed, and it is already so late.” Solomon said with a smile, “I must head on my way out, if you need me I will be in the room on your right.”

“You’re that close?”

“Why of course, I want to be there for you if anything were to happen.” Solomon answered back while giving Maria a soft kiss on the hand, “Tomorrow we must take care of some things, I am sure my paperwork has pilled up in the last few days.”

“Indeed it probably has, I will see you in the morning.” Maria answered while cautiously bringing her hand back.

“Indeed, I will see you tomorrow.” And with that he went into his room.

We can gaslight her later but for now I think it would be fun to Adventure! Around the palace and hopefully spar or something

we could subtilely learn whats behind with some small talk and let the maid slip her words before gaslighting her

Remember some things have to be kept to ourself just in case Chloe or whatever the protagonist name was manages to get five minutes alone with our maid.

Solomon said there would be consequences since she's got some fancy royal blood in her. Seeing what the consequences are helps with gaslighting her. Eg They admit they never had a husband for her or don't care that she's presumed dead.
I think we really need to talk with Melody. We haven't had any heart to heart time with her and doing it now before the wasp nest gets agitated is the best idea. She's had a bunch to take in and needs to get it mentally sorted out while there's still time.
There are also dozens of ways we can be murdered if the staff aren't constantly monitored.Melody is going to have to have a crash course in local poisons so that they don't add them to the dishes in front of her face or we start inviting random kitchen staff to taste the meals.
That old bat might have even planted some scorpions in the room already if Melody didn't arrive first.
At minimum we need a local alchemy book to learn what the magical poisons are since shalwar's threat sounded like she is probably gonna put some shrooms/hallucinogens in one of our meals. We'd probably resist a lust curse if she was trying that at the least to try and claim we're a whore sleeping around.

It was morning as Maria slowly rose from her bed, which appeared to just be a variety of pillows placed on the floor. Indeed it was an odd thing, as she noted even last time that the Miaphate always seems to do things on the ground. Was it because it was cooler on the ground, Maria could not really say.

As she rose she saw at her side was a rather drowsy looking Melody who gave Maria a shaky smile, “Hello Mistress, good morning.”

“Good morning to you Melody.” Maria said with a small stretch, “How is my prisoner doing?”

“She is still asleep, and I suspect she won’t wake up till the afternoon.”

“Than that is good, I wanted to talk to you about a few things.” Maria answered with a smile.

“I… too wanted to talk to you.” Melody admitted while taking a seat.

“Then I will allow you to go first, what is it you are worried about?”

“Well,” The girl ofcourse seemed to not want to mention anything, but soon relented, “I… did not expect you to have befriend the Miaph. How long has it been like this?”

“Hmm, two or three years? He was the one who gave me the chance of escaping.” Maria admitted with a small chuckle, “Are you worried that the Lord looks down upon this?”

“I am…” Melody answered honestly, “B-but you have been blessed by the Lord ever since I have known you, and that is less than a year! Does that mean the Lord gives us permission to consort with Infidels?”

“Hmm, that is a good question.” Maria admitted while rubbing her chin a little bit, “Though I have not yet lost his protection. That must mean right now we are still committed to his word.”

“Indeed it must.”

“Now though, we must think about our situation right now.” Maria said with a devilish smile, “We are in a hostile land, only being kept alive by a man who is surrounded by enemies.”

“So dangerous.”

“Indeed, now I have been thinking we clip those trouble parts, removing the pesky leadership would be the easiest idea.” Maria admitted with a sigh, “Second is that we kidnap them and just have a public execution, something that will strike fear in the hearts of men and solidify Solomon’s rules.”

“But that would mean possibly angering those who feel its not right.”

“Indeed, thus if we were to do that a good reason would be most desired.” Maria answered in the afirmative.

“Well, Mistress, why would we need to be in the darkness for so long?” Melody asked with a small wheeze.

“Hmm, what do you mean by that?” Maria responded with genuine interest.

“Well, maybe if we prove to the people that the Lord is the God of man, maybe we can get people to follow you. They their gods are useless against his might.”

>Opt for outright murder
>Kidnapping an execution
>Prove that the Lord himself is superior to all.

Of course you guys can always talk amongst yourselves. These are not the only ones but gives me an idea on where to move forward with.
>>
>>4524580
>Kidnapping and execution
>Find a way to expand the Lord's influence in the land
I prefer to help solomon in the smart way and melody's idea is good, we need to expand the lord's domain here, even if it's just a small city
>>
>>4524590
This is going to take awhile if we want to expand the lord's influence but If we worked with solomon on it by purging the preisthood and nobility it could work however we would need to implement great defences against monsters everywhere because faith is the only thing keeping the gods from sicing monsters on them
>>
>>4524580
>Kidnapping an execution
While the lord is obviously superior seeing as you know.. he doesn't threaten us with monsters and has the inquisition that kills cultists and stuff we simply don't have time currently
>>
>>4524580
Doing so out in the open kind of paints a bigger target on our back, but we seem to be racking them up for existing right now. Melody technically has a good idea since the Miaph gods have no theological reason to be against our own god starting a cult here, the problem is that we in particular are the most likely to incite it getting brutally stomped out.
Our saints and champions don't seem to involve divine blood, so we do have an avenue of empowering the "inferior" masses here. If we can temporarily depower a demigod with faith and silver like one can do to the carnites, that would be a good advantage. On the other hand, exposing that as a capability might be losing a secret military advantage our region has over these guys.

Sowing the seeds of misc worshipers might work, but we really need to establish contact with our god about how large we could feasibly expand his domain and/or see what miracles we can accomplish while in foreign lands. I think we also need to examine that holy sword to see how we can upgrade it. Leaving it to that miaphate smithy is too risky since they might unknowingly bless it with some rival god.
Better to find one of the Morsemen and be involved in trying to bless the thing if we upgrade it from what it was before.Unless it's secretly a key map or guide of some sort. Then we probably shouldn't change it.
>>4524597
Seems to me that Solomon needs to remind the misc cultists that his god is the one with the biggest dick to swing in these parts somehow.
>>
>>4524580
After some deliveration
>Expand the Lord's influence by defeating all those who come against us. The lord is our source of power, and by defeating the demigods we make his superiority self evident.
I am totally make this a propaganda book when we get back.

“Hmm, for now I think we should work towards maybe getting someone valuable.” Maria answered with a smile, “Indeed striking fear into our enemies is likely the best course of action.”

“I understand my Mistress, so you want me to look into opportunities?”

“Indeed Melody, though I also want to include that you should try and learn the language and work towards becoming friendly with the maids.” Maria gave a calm nod with her thoughts, “We need to either get the chance as you say, or find a just reason to imprison them.”

“I understand Mistress, I will do so.” Melody said while giving a bow.

As they finished there was a soft knock coming from the other side of the hall. Since Maria had a good guess who it was, she gave a simple motion to her maid to have it open. Indeed, her guess was right as Solomon stepped right out.

“Did you have a good sleep Elizabeth?” Solomon asked with a shine in his eyes.

“Indeed I did, what is the plan for today?”

“Today I need to catch up on decisions, those that a monarch such as myself must make.”

“Oh, interesting.” Maria answered while rising from her seat, “It will be interesting to see things from the other side of the room.”

“Indeed I think it will.” Solomon answered before taking Maria’s hand, “Now come, we must not leave my subjects wanting.”

And with that, they left to make judgements.

Alright, I know that updoot was short but it is the last one for this thread. Next one should be uploaded early as I got nothing better to do.

Alright my man, but I miss when threads used to go until page 8-9. You said last thread about planning to finish it until january/start of the next year correct ?

I'm going to give a fair warning. Fighting fear with fear doesn't always work. Might want to give the people of the Maiphate something that inspires hope first and if our enemies are foolish enough to destroy it them give them something that inspires fear.
