Another tumultuous phase of our Kingdom has been braved thanks to Kazazak the Just
--------------------------------------------------------------
Today you are awoken by the town's Yuga, as he sings his throat out in daily praise of the sun.
Usually you wake before that and get to enjoy the entirety of the song, but not today it seems.
Yugaz are a bizarre thing that happened to your country, you remember them not being there when you were a child.
But people like them, you do as well, they are quite charming.
Yugaz however are not the only thing that changed, at least in the cities.
More and more often you see people dress in almost uniform fashion, like they all belong to a club.
In a sense they do, and you're no better with your bright yellow garbs.
Dressing yourself for an occasion isn't a new thing, but today in particular, it strikes you as odd, just what kind of occasions people come up with to dress pompously.
Even as much as simply taking a stroll, or buying some bread, people, women especially, just have to flaunt their wealth and influence.
Thinking about it too much makes you question the righteousness of the commoners, and you'd prefer not to do that.
--------------------------------------------------------------

[Tie-breaker uwu]
The construction of the great temple, has sparked an unprecedented demand for building materials, the likes of which are hard to come by for such a massive project.
Arizeries of nearby towns have moved their businesses to set up shop near the construction site.
Fishers and Hunters have begun selling their catch and game right outside the construction site as well.
With food comes the families of many of these workers, to cook for their husbands and sons.
Once again a new city has sprung up seemingly over night, decreasing the overall population of surrounding cities.
With this new city, a drastic demand for furniture arises as well.

The Lumbering business can barely keep up with the demand placed upon them, not only due to the great distance between the eastern forest and their customers, but also because of the gargantuan amount of wood required for construction right now.
As such, the Zuhaibadanz and Lumberjacks in the east, band together into a single company, under the leadership of a certain Garasaf Mag Yzid.
Under Mag Yzid's supervision, the previous buildings are deconstructed and moved to a new site, on the very edge of the empire.
There, the idea of a line of processing is refined and split into several specializations.
With many different people working singular, but simple tasks, everyone contributes something to the process of cutting down trees, moving them, stripping them, cutting them and processing them into guzbenez, wedzuhai, furniture, shields, armor, naked staves, planks, beams, oars, paint-sticks and eat-sticks, each in a specialized line of production.
What was once a dozen independent enterprises, are now united in a single complex, called a Zogenxu.
What will happen to this Zogenxu is uncertain, but Garasaf Mag Yzid will make the most of it, you're sure of that.

In recent years you've noticed that, cities with their enormous populations, are starting to cover a lot of land.
Land that could be used to farm on instead.
And indeed you are not the only one who noticed, many a bright mind has had the same thought as you, and as such, have begun putting their ideas into motion across the country.
Buildings grow taller, more than doubling in height, just enough to house not one, but two families.
As it currently stands, these buildings are rare, but they are present across the empire and set an important precedent for generations to come.
Adhering to the circular building-style of our people, these two-family-towers resemble a tube that's topped with a dome.

In other news, Garasaf Mag Yzid has personally arrived at your court, multiple times now.
He keeps insisting on supplying the palace with thinner guzbenes, if only you would see the "genius" behind them.
He has explained himself half a dozen times already, you have no interest in his wares.
One point he makes however, is new, intriguing enough to hear him out one last time.
Storage efficiency.
It's true, guzbenes take up an obscene amount of space, thinner ones would certainly help.
You entertain him and order a stack of them, a single one, to test if they are worthy.
You have concerns of paint seeping through them, if they are as thin as he advertises.

With this, the entrepreneur leaves your court, contented.

Guys i think I've figured out where we are.

We're actually gonna get raped by Germanic migrations and the Romans and climate change in the near future.
What date do you guys reckon it is? Obviously after the bronze age collapse. The Roman Republic isn't around yet, but ancient Greece as we know it is. Maybe after the Peloponnesian war, before Alexanders conquests? so 300-400BCE?

While the building of your great temple is coming along as sluggishly as ever, the curious minds of your people know apparently no bounds.
At no other times does this become as obvious as during your meals.
The court cook always provides you with some new curiosity, most are his own creation, fashioned from obscure usages of existing ingredients.
Sometimes however, he brings forth something new, something a bunch of villagers on the fringes of the empire, or even outside of it, swear by.
The more successful of these experiments usually find their way outside the palace and into wider society.
Keenly aware of your impact on the populace, you make sure not to encourage the cook too much, but not discourage him either, lest people develop a taste for horrible food.

Unlike normally however, these items, your cook claims, have already attained wide-spread usage among the people, in record time as well.
Two drinks, herbal in nature, that are oft used for brewing tea.
Witches in the north swear by them, as they make for excellent medicine.
Though unlike medicine, they taste well, at least one of them does.

He presents to you tea that is a suspicious green in color.
You don't quite trust it, though you don't think your cook would be so bold to blatantly feed you poison.
He says it is made from a plant they call Pazdryn, for its domineering white in an endless sea of green as well as the ability to cure ailments of the gut and mind.
You take a sip and to your surprise, it is delicious, a sweet earthy flavor, its taste resembles the smell of oak, and yet there is a uniqueness about it.
It is quite unlike anything you've ever tasted.

The other drink he presents to you, is not as tasty, though also a lot less green.
It is a gross, bitter, concoction that, after dwelling on it for a moment, seems to raise your spirits.
It has found great popularity among the commoners you are told.
This one is made from Byobyodin, a beautiful flower whose leaves consist of a great many tiny hearts.

These teas you feel, will leave a lasting impact on your diet.

Looks like we have a few hundred years before the Roman Kingdom and Carthage become a thing. For decades we have been importing fabrics from outside our known world.
Though our textiles are just as sturdy, if not more so, and far cheaper than any imported goods, it must be said that this foreign material is far lighter and more comfortable to wear than wool.
Through the trade droughts in recent years, some people have acquired the plant from which this cloth is fashioned, and begun to grow it themselves.
While the cultivation has seen success, the refinement process sure as sin hasn't.

However, it appears that this is no longer the case, more and more "Lyn" based clothing has begun to appear on the markets, leading to a drop in prices.
Now as people have access to domestic lyn, more sophisticated garments are being crafted, utilizing more complicated stitches, mostly for fashion-sake, but also to deal with the more fickle material.
One such stitching technique they call Birshazde, which was intended to make lyn garments heavier, to comfort the wearer, is
instead used to craft ornate sheets of wool cloth, meant as home decoration.

The minds of your subjects are truly wondrous.

Though every person is thought to be unique, and indeed you have yet to meet two people who were exactly alike, you can't help but notice that there are certain common traits exhibited by a people.
The Murgandaz to the north all seem to have an affinity for the sea, indeed you have yet to meet one of their traders travelling on foot.
The Murgandaz to the south all seem to have an affinity for war, no matter what they're doing, they're always attacking someone.
The Murgandaz to the east all seem to have an affinity for the forest, they have no defined settlements, but somehow are not nomadic either.
Your people as well appear to have a certain affinity, an affinity for discovery, every year there's something new with the commoners, be it a strange obsession, a strange material, a strange food or even a strange invention, there is just no end to it.

As such, it surprised you little when you've learned, after a part of the great temple collapsed, a whole new type of mathematics was discovered by an aging worker who could barely count two and two together previously.

With this apparent outburst of genius, the great temple is being reconstructed, both more efficiently, and more structurally sound.

Word has reached you that the Murgandaz are at war once again, nothing unusual until you are informed that, the attacking tribe is not one of our neighbors.
This piques your interest in the conflict slightly, you ask what they mean by this.
These Murgandaz, who call themselves Geldoz have begun expanding at an unprecedented rate.
Previously they were known to be peaceful herders, high in the mountains down south.
Recently however, they have taken to aggressive outward expansion, under several warrior kings, who have introduced them to some foreign material from which they craft their weapons.
The description thereof, supposedly matches Shidroz, a mythical metal said to be found in the far-south.

The prospect of these upstart murgandaz, using a magical metal to conquer the world, is terrifying enough for you, to issue a general call to arms and send envoys to the Remz and Aduadugz, who are currently embroiled in war with the rising Geldoz.

Though construction workers and essential businesses, such as smiths, bakers, fishers and the like, are exempt from service, you still manage to muster an impressive 4800 men
the single largest fighting force the world has ever seen, or so you think.

Due to a general lack of concern for time, as no army currently stands to trespass into our territory, as well as never before seen wood processing, we have managed to equip even the lowliest of soldiers with rudimentary armor.
While not as protective as the full body armor of the Guard, the wooden shirts given to the conscripts, is more than enough to withstand most injuries sustained in melee.

With the Remz and Aduadugz, agreeing to cooperate with you, it is finally time to move out against the Geldoz.

With the temporary alliance sealed, your troops march south into the lands of the Remz, accompanied by around 3000 Eburonez, an ally of the Aduadugz.
The further south you go, the more refugees you encounter, fleeing in your direction.
At first you thought they came from the fringes of the Remz, but the Geldoz have come far further than you expected.
These refugees stem from the heartland of the Remz, who are barely holding on.
They live to fight and now they fight to live.

You and the Eburonez arrive at a settlement called Bibragde, the home of the Remz.
Here, the true extend of the Geldoz threat is made apparent to you.

Along with the Remz, their tributaries, and their allied Eburonez, your forces number well into the 20 thousands.
Opposing you is a horde of Geldoz whose number is so great, no scout could count them.
They are estimated to be exceeding our entire population.
While this is the bulk of the Geldoz, you know for a fact that this is not the lot of them, the Aduadugz are fighting them in their home as well, and if the Remz are to be believed, dozens of less significant tribes further west, have confederated against them.

This is merely one battlefield of many.
the Remz and Eburonez form up into a large rectangle line on the left flank and center.
The Geldoz form one single consistent line, subdivided into multiple arrowhead formations.

You are positioned at the right flank

You arrange into an arrow formation facing the wrong way, in hopes of covering more ground while also retaining part of the benefit of a square.

As the Geldoz come barreling down on us, the ground beneath them shakes, it quakes the very earth, the sound of hundreds of thousands of people, trampling on the world, crushing all manner of flowers and insects, like a wild beast finally unleashed, when finally, we clash.

The weight of their army pushes us toward the walls of the remz's capital, you can't quite make out what exactly is happening, but your allies don't seem to fare spectacularly either.
As parts of the first row of our formation begins to fall, the arrow slowly flattens, as people from the center start pushing to the front.
Though hundreds of our men fall, the Geldoz are dwindling at an astounding speed.
Even reinforced with another formation, the Geldoz fall before you, at least a quarter of their army has failed to assault your formation.

Now no longer under pressure, your army is free to do as it pleases.

Free to attack at your own leisure, you commit to the flank and start pushing into the enemy rear.
As you advance, the abysmal situation of your allies becomes apparent to you.
The Eburonez have been defeated and their scattered remains are being chased across the field by a Geldoz detachment in hot pursuit.
The lines of the Remz have broken, their tributary armies are barely holding on against the onslaught of the Geldoz, whose advancement was briefly stopped by an attempt of the Remz bolgozaz to flank them.
However, now the bolgozaz of both Remz and Geldoz are engaged in a fierce battle to the death.

Your formation spreads out into a rectangle as you approach the remainder of the Geldoz forces who defeated the Eburonez, before they can aid their bolgozaz.

In an attempt to turn around and face you properly, their formation shatters, likely a loss of morale.
This section of the Geldoz has effectively routed itself, and you watch as a good portion of them drown as they try to cross the river in their pathetic scramble for safety.

Now, the way toward the enemy bolgozaz is clear.

Now that the way is clear, you continue the attack and strike right at the heart of the Geldoz formation.
In the distance you notice a significant portion of the Geldoz fleeing the battle, the Remz allies appear to have been victorious and now move out to engage the Geldoz detachment up north.
Unfortunately for them, they appear to be far more numerous than previously anticipated, resulting in a rout.

The Geldoz bolgozaz however, are putting up a much more fierce fight.
Though they outnumber both us and the Remz bolgozaz, they are on the defensive, but their resolve would not break.

Their morale would appear to be finite regardless, as, according to eye witnesses, the routed bolgozaz were fleeing from a single one of your soldiers, practically oozing of bybyodin tea, he suffered several sword wounds and has multiple spears lodged into him, but he yet stands.

The remaining bolgozaz regroup with the detachment up north and flee west across the fields.
The Remz are too damaged and we are too slow to pursue them.

Victory is ours, but at the cost of the very hero who brought it upon us.
Just after you've learned of his deeds, he passed.

Your troops scour the battlefield, not only for valuables, but also the corpse of the Hero.
His surviving friends tell you his story, it is a bittersweet victory.

As you search for the Hero, you order the fallen to be stripped.
The Remz intervene and oppose your order, they will not have their dead posthumously humiliated, let alone by their ally.
You explain to them that you're planning to bury them like civilized people.
They do not take kindly to your insult and a brawl ensues, which is promptly interrupted by the remz king.
He demands to know why we would want to bury not just our own dead, but also theirs AND those of the enemy.
You insist that all people must have their essences extracted, lest their very being warps into that of a Giza'abdaxa
Upon inquiring what on earth that is, you give him an abridged retelling of your people's origin.
Not any less confused than before, he moves on and wants to know what exactly this burial entails.
Since there are no nearby marshes for a traditional burial, you make your intention clear of returning the bodies to the Sun.
Unsure of what that means, he agrees to the burial.

After recovering the body of the Hero, a portly lad named Igzaul Hur Egeri, the only fallen one who'll make it back home, you begin preparing the bodies of the others.

You and a few smart looking fellows, strip all the dead naked, under the watchful eyes of the remz king.
Then you work their clothes into a crude wrap and use that to provisionally bind the deceased.
Afterward, everyone is lined up in long rows, right next to each other, with their weapons in their hands.
Following some ceremonial chants of praise to Aitlaz, giver of life, you return their bodies back to their creator and set them ablaze.
The stench is horrendous, but such is life.

You give the troops some time to rest by fraternizing with the Remz, who aren't exactly eager for the next battle.
This battle has broken them, though only time will tell whether this persists or they return to their warmongering ways.
You watch some of the men share their meals with the malnourished remz children, it's an adorable sight.
The friends of the Hero meanwhile are already on their way back home, you have relieved them of service so they may take their friend home and give him a proper burial.
A fate that many of your men wish they could have shared, to simply return to bury their comrades, some even resent you for this special treatment, but truthfully, you don't care.
Leaders, so you believe, are there to do more than simply inspire, they ought to give everyone a goal to work toward to, be it impressing their loved ones, saving their friends, or spiting their superiors, whatever it may be, as long as it gets them to kill the enemy reliably, you have no qualms about it.

In the meantime, the Remz indulge in your hospitality, even if they are the hosts of this funeral.
During the "festivities" you come into contact with the remz king again.
He wants to know what the price of your help is exactly, surely no one in their right mind would sacrifice their men with no ulterior motive.
He's got you there, perhaps the most intelligent you've seen a savage been so far.
You came here not to search for glory, but to save your people from the danger the Geldoz posed.
This isn't something he needs to know though, there's many ways to secure the empire after all, and perhaps with his tribe as weak as it is right now, you can achieve some of them.

The deal is simple, they will reward you with their friendship, that is all you demand of them.
Simply being "friends" is not something the remz king agrees with though.
The Remz bow to no one, he makes that abundantly clear, they'd rather die than become our subjects.
You try to calm him down and explain that subjugation isn't your goal.
Even as weak as they are, they will fight you to the last man.
You can bring on the full might of the empire, they will not budge.
Apparently, they won't listen either.
You slam your fist on the table to regain his attention.
We aren't enemies, this is what you're trying to get him to understand.
Brought out of his angry ramblings, the remz king asks what exactly allegiance entails.
Finally with some common sense, you manage to steer the conversation back to the point.

The Remz are weak in their current state, and you would willingly support them, no strings attached.
All you ask for in return, is that they do the same.
In essence, it is a mutual agreement to help one another.
To show your trustworthiness is why you intervened in this conflict in the first place.
The king seems skeptical, but has no reason to doubt you yet, and in lights of their growing number of enemies and prospect of their tributaries soon fighting for independence, if there will be any of them left that is, really puts the pressure on him.

With no other choice in his mind than complete annihilation, he agrees to aid you in your times of need.
With a grand proclamation from the both of you, the Remz and Boxdonyz have confederated.

You depart from the realm of the Remz and leave a small token force behind to aid them in their rebuilding effort.
Halfway home already, a messenger reaches you, stating that the Aduadugz have annulled their partnership with you after having been over run by the Geldoz.
Though they yet live, they will not forget your treachery any time soon.

With the end of your temporary alliance resulting in bad blood, it doesn't take too long for the Eburonez and Aduadugz to declare war on you - a fact you had to learn of the hard way by running into their troops.

Despite this, they were no match for your superior forces, the Eburonez sue for peace shortly after your arrival in Ibalep.
You send word of your acceptance out to them, though you are unsure about the Aduadugz, the Eburonez may have taken the lead in their relationship due to being less affected by the attack of the Geldoz.
You dismiss the army formally and return to live as normal, almost anyway.

You make your way to a small village hidden in the swamps, a settlement so remote that not even the road would reach all the way there.
Meeting with a humble peasant family, you kindly request an aging couple of parents to surrender their son to you.
You do not wish to rob them of their flesh and blood, having lost yours you know all too well what it's like.
Wishing merely to adopt the boy as your heir.
Though he has no combat prowess to speak of, dear Aitlaz no, he has something that you find is sorely lacking in the royal family.
Courage, courage to be as kind a soul as he is, he has the compassion of a first-time mother, a talent you wish to foster.

The family is adamant about sending their son away, but it is the Askkizo himself making the request.
They are most certainly torn.

After promising the parents that they could come visit their son at the palace any time they please, they agree.
You solemnly swear to cover every travel expense they might have on their visits.

You are now the new father of Syllug, a young man, not even half your age, blessed by the moon.
This lunar prodigy will serve the empire well, you're sure of it.

Following a heartfelt goodbye, you and your son return home to the palace, where you show him his new room.
He can't believe the luxury he's witnessing and asks whether this isn't your room, you decline with a smile, this is his room not yours.
Syllug seems to take this change well.

As time progresses, you find that the use of tension-machines has increased in your realm, not only do you see them used as looms, but also as tanning racks.
With easier access to the right amount of tension for every occasion, leather production has sped up notably and resulting not just in more, but better quality products as well.

With not much else to do, you focus on raising Syllug into his new position, the boy is poised to reach adulthood soon and you're thinking of marrying him off to one of Birili's daughters.

Syllug becomes harder to find with each passing month, you wonder what the boy is up to, that is until you finally discover what consumes all of his time.
Together with some guards, he trains himself in the art of combat, that's your initial assumption.
However as it turns out, he is not training, he is tinkering.
Upon asking what he's doing and why, he pours his heart out about the injustice that is war.
He doesn't want people to die, not now and not ever, he's lost all of his friends on the battlefield.
Realizing what it is he's up to, you wish him the best of luck and with a pause, urge him to make his fallen comrades proud.

With this, you go about your usual businesses again.

After repeatedly finding themselves washed out into coastal waters by floods, fishermen have taken to learn how to navigate the sea close to land.
By oaring away from the streams of the rivers to not get pushed further out and watching for distant hints of smoke of nearby villages, they have figured out a way to effectively traverse the coastline.
Due to this, many have begun fishing out at sea rather than the rivers, yielding greater catches.
This has caused many sightings of new types of fish and shockingly, sea monsters as well.

In the meantime, Syllug has come up with a cost-effective way to provide great protection to even the lowliest of soldiers.
An attire born of compassion, it is based on a long-armed tunic, craft of buff leather, using durable lyn string to weave segments of wood onto it, the size of a woman's palm, placed upon the chest to protect the body from cuts and stabs.
Unto the lower end of the tunic, longer pieces are stitched to protect the thighs from stray blows.
Holding the tunic to the shape of the body is a black leather belt at waist-height, on which additional gear can be attached.
To the shoulders attached are wooden pauldrons, preventing strikes from above and protecting the vulnerable neck from the sides.
Requiring separate attachment for every engagement are long segments of wood, held on a lyn string.
When bound to the forearm and otherwise exposed shins, they automatically form into tubes by virtue of their construction.
Lastly a wooden war-crown, sporting a small plate at the forehead, barely the size of a normal segment, to the sides it features two longer pieces, meant to protect the cheeks and part of the ears, covering the neck is the neck piece at the back of the crown, though significantly larger than all previous pieces combined, it is much thinner as to not inflict wounds upon the wearer itself.
All of this is to be worn on top of a soldier's regular clothing.

A common armor, for every man.

Resulting from markets being flooded with exotic new fishes, even the fiercest land dwellers go out and try the cheap, new sea-meat.
Though some turn out to be inedible or even mildly poisonous, a great many new fishes find their way into the diets of people.
Chief among them is what people call a Hoxan, a fish unlike anything we've seen before.
It is a beast the size of a man, with teeth like that of a wolf.
Though the Hoxanz are dangerous, on land, like all fish, they powerless and quickly die.

In the following years, it becomes apparent that Hoxan meat is in high demand for its deliciousness and has become just as expensive as other meats.
In your opinion, it pairs particularly well with pazdryn-honey.

Though people rarely do it intentionally, in the summer season, when aitlaz shines brightest, foods often dry out and rot.
Some foods don't perish however, they become more delicious and better preserved.
Such is the case with some fishes.
Due to an over abundance in food in the preceeding years, many new ways to dry meat have been discovered and yes, even a way to preserve a great many more over a long period of time.
Either by letting the meat suffocate in smoke, or by locking it in a room hotter than any summer heat wave, meats shrivel up and become hard.
Though they are tough and often taste subpar, they are far from bad, which drives their price down immensely and makes for great travelling rations.

In the meantime, you have spent every free minute of your days, lecturing Syllug on the deeds of our ancestors, the importance of their achievements, but most significantly, the royal heritage.
History, you say, began with Loiur, your venerable mother.
We don't have any records predating her, lest for the holy decree, which is said to have come from aitlaz himself.
It is the most important and holiest of laws, to violate it is beyond sacrilege, it is tantamount to treason.
Never, you say, must a man be in chains, for no one can own a human being.
History has shown time and time again, that those who practice slavery are less than inferior, their words, their minds, their people, all of them are animals in human form.
Not quite Giza'abdaxa, but close enough.

Bountiful catches have lead to bountiful interest in the practice of fishing.
Though fishermen are already a societal staple, immigrants rejected by Remz society and the failures of our own, seek their luck out at sea, further driving down the price of fish.
While those who have been in the practice for generations complain about the newcomers, their adventurous outlook is quite contagious.
These new fishermen soon begin to report of another land across the sea.
This claim is backed by Menapaz merchants who allege to have been there themselves.

Though we do not have the means to actually travel there safely, the mere prospect of another world beside our own existing is enough to spark the imagination of tens of thousands.
While you won't live to see it, you're certain that there'll be a slew of explorers in the generations to come.

Right now, we still depend on trade for bronze, and though its served us well enough, it has also mildly screwed us over. It has made it more expensive and limited the supply, thus limiting our own economy, making us weaker than we could be. More to the point, should this trade run dry? Should conditions change? We'd be screwed.

We need to become self-sufficient, and bronze is our greatest weakness right now. Best to remove the problem before it becomes one.

You didn't think much of it when you introduced Xixz to the economy to revitalize it.
Since then however, a glaring flaw of your initial idea has come back to bite you.
While there are 2 million xixz in circulation, there were only 10 thousand ezbetz to start with.
With xixz being worth half an ezbet each, this means that you have 0.9 million unaccounted for ezbetz that are missing from circulation.
The worst part is, they were never there to begin with.

To combat this problem, you begin importing more brondzy to mint more ezbetz.
Though this process takes a few years, you do not think with a total value of 2 million ezbetz (or 4 million xixz) in circulation, that the economy is stable.
With no other genuine valuable around to further diversify the coinage however, this is as good as it can get in your opinion.
It's going to be a long way until currency has truly replaced bartering.

As you approach the evening of your life, things have finally slowed down a bit.
Syllug has had a child with Onibyo, the youngest daughter of Birili.
Though they've yet to marry, it is clear that they were meant for each other, even your sister agrees.
You wonder what became of baby brother Arrot.
Last you've seen him was 20 years ago, said he wanted to go on an adventure.
Is he still alive?
Probably not.

In these slow times, one last bout of innovation sparks your interest - Brondzy
Yes, brondzy itself.
The confederation has yielded us a great boon, the old Remz king has passed and the new one is eager to stay on our good side.
As one of our primary middlemen, the Remz have known the secret of forging brondzy for centuries, and now they have elected in sharing it with us.
All this time, we could have made it ourselves for cheap, by instead importing a dim grey metal called Zagnoz and a reddish brown one, already resembling brondzy, called Kibri, then mixing them together.
You yourself don't quite understand the exact process, but that's alright.

Following the good will of the Remz king, you decide to return the favor and invite him to the palace.
You do not receive word from him directly, but within a matter of days, a message reaches you that the Remz king is on his way to the capital, along with an entourage of warriors, likely as bodyguards.

You order the court cook to bring his A-game and prepare a lavish meal, worthy of a royal guest.
After two weeks of preparation and anticipation, the Remz king and 20 warriors have arrived at the palace.
You welcome them in, with only 2 guards by your side as a sign of trust.
Leading them to the courtyard, the Remz king doesn't quite understand why he is brought outside while being invited to the palace.
You explain that it is customary among your people to dine outside during the summer months, to feel the warmth of Aitlaz.

Your servants bring out several chairs for the guests to sit on.
While you personally enjoy sitting on the comfortable grass, you cannot reasonably expect your guests to share the same feelings.

Upon being asked why it is you called him here, you inform him of your earnest gratitude for his choice to strengthen the confederation and your hopes to continue this relationship with your successor.
You gesture at Syllug, he lowers his head toward the Remz king.

You feast into the night, reveling in the opulence of your meal, exchanging stories of your parents, your childhoods, your mythologies.
It is simply, a good bit of dumb fun.
After providing some lodging for the king and his entourage for the night, they make off again at sunrise, witnessing the majesty of the Yugaz' songs.

The priests were always up to summin' funny, I knew that.
Hidin' in them little towers like grounded kids.
To hear them talk funny things at papa's burial is summin' I saw comin'.
Ye they been givin' him his last rites, but they did it weird.
That ain't how I learned it, it ain't what papa told me.
Now that papa's gone, maybe I should invite daddy and mommy to the palace.
I'm sure they'd love to see my wife.

But I digress, I ask them funny-talkers why them's preaching heresy, in MY presence at that.
They got lots'a excuses, but they do say that papa's allowed for this.
What he allowed for, is for them priests to make a big gatherin' of all our legends, make em understandable for us...err...them commoners.
So they're sayin' that in the process of makin' the legends legible [heh] they had to change some of 'em or else there be incoosee...necrosi....ingot....errors, there be errors if they don't.
Okay, that's fair, I get that.
In light of them changes however, they're not calling me by my rightful title.
I don't mean no askkizo business, but nah, they refuse to call me Aitlaz.
What's wrong with em? Ain't I papa's son? Ain't I the very sun shining on this here empire?
Apparently not, according to them.
They've taken to what the common folks call me, quite literally.
Them priests really be out there, callin' me the Moon and my wife the Sun.
That is blasphemy if I ever heard it.

I ask them priests what kinda problem they're havin' with me.
Do I treat them unjustly?
No, as it turns out, they don't think me a worthy Sun, because I ain't descended from the sun.
Them cretins forgettin' who created them, who created me, all of us.
I give them a good piece of my mind.
So I reminded them, that Azkishoz ain't born, they're chosen, by none other than Aitlaz himself.
If they're questionin' my legitimacy, they're attackin' Papa posthumously.
Me callin' them out like that has gotten us into a bit of a stir.
So, at the very funeral of Papa, you put the blasphemers before a choice.

The argument has attracted a good number of onlookers and now they're here to watch me do summin' about the blasphemers.
They're chanting "heretic" behind us and I do what Loiur would have done in my place.
I sentence them to lose their ancestral gift.

After the guards took them heretics into custody, we moved them to Odober, where I will personally free them of their manhood.
The executioner reads the crime and sentence out loud to the cheering crowd, before handing me his blade.
I remove their manhoods, much to their shock.
I can't stand them screams of pain, it hurts me in my heart, but I do what I gotta.

Couple of days after the thing, the temple let's me know that there's a terrible split in their ranks and that I gotta come and fix it.
I go to Iza'oryan to see it for myself.

Sure enough, the temple is filled to the brim with priests yellin' at each other. Funny how that works.

They ask me for my input on the matter, a short and simple question.
Am I the sun?
What kinda question is that?
Of course, who else could it be if not the chosen one of Aitlaz?
Them folks who asked me look pleased with that answer, and damn smug at that.
The rest of the crowd don't seem so happy though.
Looks like I upset most of the priests here.
Heretics, the lot of 'em.
I am told that them wiseguys dressed in blue, call themselves Skyoz and the ones they're shouting with, they're Sauz.
Why the funny names? do the ones you agree with have a funny name too?
Yes, yes they do, they're Edgizarz.
They still won't tell me why they're calling themselves that, but edgizarz you can at least understand, they're the good guys here, to me at least.

After a night of debating, I ain't gotten closer to fixin' the issue, so I banish the heretics, simple as.
Unity of the faith is preserved, and those heretics can go bother the savages with their nonsense.

I declare the meeting over, the Skyoz and Sauz are to leave the empire, immediately and never come back.

With nothing really to do, I just spend my time with the wife and my babe.
Being a daddy is fun, I like the little shitter, even if he does just that, shit err'where.
Before Ydela I didn't like kids, but I think mine is better than them other kids, just a gut feelin' though.

Just a couple days ago, I saw someone I didn't know what to make of.
A man so old, he prolly was around when grandma still ruled.
There's an aging Garasaf Mag Yzid, standin' before me and offering me his Zogenxu.
What would I make of such a thing?
In the first place, why is he here offering me this?
Shouldn't this go to his son or summin'?
Turns out, the man who is just 2 years shy of 100, doesn't trust his daughter, or her kids with his business.
On top of that, he outlived his son, there is no longer an heir to his business.
I get that, papa had summin' like that too, so now he's lookin' to adopt me as well in a way.
I got a couple clues what to do here, but I'm not sure.
I could just accept, that'd be the easiest thing.
Maybe I can find an heir for him, I'm sure he'd be happier with someone more qualified than me.
I could also just tell him "no" and be done with it.

I tell him that I'll find him a prim 'n proper heir.
I don't think it right for me be takin' on this sorta responsibility.
He asks me why, so I tell him bluntly, I don't like the idea of controlling too many things.
Think about it, I say, even if I were an able shop keep, it ain't my place to take.
Like the Sun above, I do not shine relentlessly, I know when to let it be night.

He seems grateful for my help and agrees to my approach, soon rattling off all the things he desires in an heir.
I promise to find one to fit his wishes as best I can, but remind him that I am a busy man myself.
He understands and excuses himself.
