The morning beckons and unlike the stories proposed, the monsters wake up to greet the day.

Feeling the light of the morning sun pierce your lids of granite, you begin to stir. Yielding a low grumble, your shape uncoils from the disturbed acres of trees and fields that have submitted to becoming your nest for the night. From unwrapping your titanic majesty into a more comfortable form to come to, the ground beneath you stirs as you raise your rostrum to the skies above, piqued to the vast hilly landscape before you, even at such a height, only the hills barely rival your presence towards the scenery; small avian lifeforms attaining to the power of flight to escape from this potential threat that has awakened, a true titan like no other.

You are Dynasaurus, a 54-meter tall monster from rostrum to foot that looks like what would happen if a rhino and an iguana decided to crossbreed and got supersized in the process. You live on the vast archipelago known as the Behemoth’s Backyard where you live in placid virtue with some of the monsters on this island, although, it isn’t always fun and games with others that inhabit different regions and it can get a bit stuffy if you end up in someone else’s turf if you’re not careful, but you’re quite the bulky titan for your size, so usually you’re quite well prepared for a scuffle when it rises.

When it comes to powers, at the moment, you have three notable abilities, apart from your passive ability to swim and catch prey: Your horn and claws [Most notably your thumb spikes] which you can gore or slash your opponents with, your bulky strength which allows you to go toe-to-toe with any rivalling opponents and most notably, the boon of superheating your body, or concentrating extreme amounts of heat into certain points of your body, passively turning a horn attack into a devastating radiant skewer. Not bad of a lineup, but you definitely aren’t any monster that’s gonna be firing hyper beams or achieving the power of flight anytime soon.

At the moment, your monstrous form lays upon the tilled slope that you call your resting place and now, it is time to greet the day in another chapter of your behemoth life. Right now, you are famished and being a primarily pescatarian, you are smart enough to rest yourself near the shoreline a couple of miles away. Being that the morning is young, the opportunity to catch some of the limited stock before other predators can catch them. Now it is time to rise and the time for action.

Craning your 80,000 ton form from the floor upwards, even the hills around you are dwarfed in comparison to your absolute grandeur. Hobbling your way over the hills, you still succumb to a bit of the morning temptations of wishing to lay back down and dream away a bit longer, but your hunger ultimately negates this feeling entirely. Each footstep, a small shudder which makes the earth around you tremble, you slowly hobble your way over the bushy canopies with your long, lizard-like tail dragging along behind suite, tilling any shrubbery behind it in your uphill journey.

Stomping over a few of the natural formations for a good while, you come across the sandy outcrop that connects to the vast, endless blue before you, a perfect spot for hunting any notable prey that would keep you filled for the next few days. Ushering yourself down the slope, your thick leathery feet would make a smooth outline in the golden deposits of sand around you; tail following being suite to curl around. There you stand before the endless blue border that separates your monolith form from the rest of the world, stretching forth to absolute wonder to the great beyond. The thrashing of waves against the large, almost gate-like rocks which bordered you close to the island of monsters.

As you approach the entryway towards the tides blanket-like reach, you seem to hear a presence passing-by behind you, it seems familiar, with it’s form sounding more slimmer and jet-lined from venturing past the slopes of hills and trees alike.

Shifting your weighted cranium northwards, you notice a rather armoured individual trudge its way towards the marshy shores with you, fastened in it’s mantis-like grip with large snapping forearms, a whale that it had caught prior to you initially arriving to the bay. Physically, the being opposite you is just a squint taller than you, at about 58-60 or so meters from their glassy, void-filled eyestalks, to their reinforced chitinous legs which bent in a digitigrade positioning.

With a good analysis on them, you quickly deduce this is one of the more friend than foe, being one of the more placid residents on the landmass, you quickly recognise them as Trilotitan: the monstrous crustacean that inhabits the cavernous depths beneath the island. Upon close inspection of the freshly killed whale, it seems they had their fair share of morning fishing thus far. Currently they seem oblivious to your arrival thus far, preoccupied with their meal in tow.

Perhaps you could try getting their attention.

Usually, you, Trilotitan and one other monster in your buddy group, or “pack” per say are known to fish on this spot of the shore, so you don’t mind them fishing here from time to time, besides, they sorta live in this spot in caves beneath the island’s waves so you don’t mind too much.

[Sidenote: All roars and grumbles have been translated to English, on a quick OOC as well, much appreciated anon!]

You decide to engage to familiar armoured arthropod of the aquatic with a universal greeting, raising one of your free frontal limbs forth and casting it from side to side, they notice your movement in the corner of their compound eyes and appear to understand the message more than well, elevating one of their own smaller forelimbs from underneath the marooned cetacean and waving right back at you. It seems you’re both in good terms now. “Where are you headed with that whale?” You ask your crustaceous accomplice in a low grumble, currently carrying their felled prey in their crushing pincers.

>”Well, now that you mention it I was going to head down towards my cavern to eat it there, breakfast in bed. I’ve already liquefied it’s insides, so unless you want a whale of a bisque I doubt you’d want it.” They would chatter with their filtering mandibles, stridulating the air with passive ingenuity.

That was fine, you needed the exercise anyway after all that lying around, the need to stretch your tail was yearning. As you finish your timely greetings towards one another, Trilotitan seems to seek to the drawing tide of the morning with their meal tightly secured and you’re more than ready to go looking for prey down below, it’s not like the ocean is going anywhere. If there was anything more you could ask your fellow monster before they descended into the deep blue to gorge on their breakfast, now would be the best time.

You ask Trilotitan whether or not any other monsters alike have passed on by, their chitinous form raises slightly to answer your question, prodding their helmeted cranium with one of their forelimbs.

>”Now that you mention it, I did see Mamut fly past not too long ago squawking on about some sort of metal whale that passed by the border not too long ago. Personally I didn’t pay much mind to it, you know how Mamut likes playing his pranks on the others here.”

What a peculiar thought. Even if Mamut, another close monster friend of yours, next to Trilotitan, was a bit of a mischief maker, the gossip of something, be it a supposed “Metal Whale” to pass through the borders of the island, known better as the "Leviathan’s Teeth’ being large monolithic rocks that are impossible to climb or squeeze one’s kaiju frame through was news to your ears. Maybe when you’re out wrangling some breakfast, you’ll catch a glimpse of this elusive alloyed mammal on your swim.

Shifting their titanic carapace west-side, Trilotitan would direct their smaller forelimbs forth towards the much larger grandiose part of the island before them. Large sedimentary teeth which jagged out from the seafloor towards the islands side could be visible across the island for a good few miles, definitely one of the more visual landmarks in case one gets lost.

>”If you want to know where Mamut could more than likely be, you’d probably find him perched upon the jagged cliffs overlooking the island, he’s the one who’d most likely know where that metal whale could be. I’d come along too, but currently I’ve got my claws sorta full at the moment and you know what the scavengers are like when fresh prey is left out in the open.”

The hilly region seems like quite the structure to climb all the way to the top, but upon the apex of the canyons, you notice the feint outline of a perched figure stowing themselves, their form far exceeding the size of any of the native seabirds flocking around them.

Sizing up the geological monument with glassy eyes of determination, your monstrous vigour kicks into high time as you grapple with the sloped hillsides of this formation before you, practically embracing the landscape with open claws as you begin to slowly scale your way up towards your destination. In the background, you can hear disruption in the ocean as it parts for Trilotitan’s size to sink into, descending into the murky blue until all that’s left of your monster island buddy is but a silhouette upon the tides surface, not before they gave one last piece of information regarding your next objective in mind.

>”Make sure you’re straight to the point with him, you know what he’s like when he’s feeling mischievous.” Sewing their cranium back into the waters below.

Braving each toothed precipice or steep uphill plunder, thankfully due to your bulky upper arm strength you manage to heave your monstrous hide up the trickier parts of the climb, though it was times like these that you envied the life of the smaller fauna that could easily scale this ascent with much more considerable grace.

It would not be long soon however, until your efforts finally bared fruit, with the morning horizon almost being at level with yourself as you reach the near apex of the mountainside. From such an ascent, even the ocean down below was a simple brush palette of blue, unmoving towards the endless sky.

For a monster like yourself, living in the land of beasts and tyrants, it couldn’t be more peaceful.

>”WOAH! DYNA! WAS NOT EXPECTING VISITORS SO SOON! EHEH!”

Aaand the moment’s gone.

With your rocky eyes turning their attention towards the centre of these flocking seabirds, erched upon one of the rocky peaks with a bellowing screech, a particularly large avian would be visible, serrated beak widened in excitement from it’s echoing rumble. Physically, they didn’t hold much of a candle compared to the likes of you nor Trilotitan, standing at a much more modest 35 or so meters in height whilst compensating for their larger wingspan. Their mane rustled, neck poling to crane itself in your general direction with open, curious eyes. Without a doubt, this was the appointed terror of the skies and mischief of the gales, Mamut.

>”WHAT BRINGS YOU HERE? PLAY BOULDER TOSS? SQUASH A PORQUON HIVE? TAIL SKOTCH?!”

The acrobatic Mamut would bound in place like an oversized cockatoo. However much sugar it takes to put a 20,000 ton monster on a high, it must be a lot, they seemed so invigorated by your presence that they can hardly hold their excitement around you, considering they have been a longtime buddy of yours alongside Trilotitan, the lack of a tonal filter seemed lacking for this beast in particular.

Perhaps it’s best to stay on topic and remind yourself why you’ve scaled this mountain to skip breakfast whilst also trying to appeal to their spontaneous nature.

[editor's note: Apologies, I've been a bit busy, so do forgive the image quality a bit.]

Reaffirming bonds with your fellow titanic brethren, you overcome the slope dividing Mamut staring you relatively levelled and with little resistance you brush your long, shovelled claws across their vibrant plumage. Coinciding this sudden motion of larger than life affection, Mamut’s posture would crane forwards to allow you to scratch at the places where it would prove fruitless for his own self grooming to attend towards. Upon your self-fuelled analysis, you can 100% guarantee that the fluff protruding from his neck down towards his abdomen, is indeed feathers, it could be described like a plush mane of sorts from it’s composition.

You kinda wish that Trilotitan’s carapace was this soft and pillowy now that you put some thought into it.

Perhaps now that your avian friend is now quite tame, it would be wise to converse in questions about current pressing matters on the island’s gossip. Considering that he was one of the select few monsters on the island who could fly, even more, one that didn’t want to kill you it would be best to discuss what would be on your mind. A low frequency rumble, originating from Mamut’s throat would ensue as you would continue scratching their sweet spot with your rugged claws, which have met with their fair encounter of fights. The feeling was almost nostalgic to you.

Grating your jaws open, you slowly start to mouth the conversation in your mind, with some post-haste rehearsal within the slow stream of cognition within the riverbanks of your mind, you usher out a growl to start your sentence “So Mamut, I know you’re quite the source of gossip around the region, correct? So, I heard from Trilotitan, that you told them-” Trying to loosen your accomplice up to get to the main point of the conversation you had in mind. The preparations were set, it was time to drop this oxygen destroying kicker like it was 1954. “Do you happen to know anything about a certain metal whale?”
Jolting immediately from this question headed in their direction, from tamed pet to alerted avian Mamut’s neck would stiffen to an erect posture before squawking a piercing howl in a mixture of surprise and shock.

>”METAL WHALE?! AAAAAAA! WHERE?! WHERE?!”

In no time at all, they start hopping and flapping wildly as if an invisible opponent was in any given direction they were overreacting towards. It seems they are in quite a panic at the moment and need some reassurance to bring them back to Earth; both figuratively and literally.

Post-haste, your first task is to make sure this rather floral colossus was calmed and attended for, prolonged screeching like this could attract the wrong kind of company and you’re quite low on nutritional fuel to properly duke it out with some of the raring carnivorous powerhouses whom are well fed and willing to duke it out. Keenly, you thrust an arm forward to clasp this energetic avian’s squabbling to a mute point, clasping both upper and lower rostrum with your pinching claws to disarm this vocal explosion.

Hurriedly searching for answers whilst hushing the winged wrangler with hushing descent to calm your feathered friend, which in perspective was more akin to low, deflated hissing “Mamut, calm down! What’s all the fuss about?” Quite the effort to scale this trek just to be screamed at over a simple question. You politely, yet in a still alerted calming fashion demand to ask why the sudden overreaction brought to your attention.

It would be from this reassurance from your titanic soothing that the tamed Mamut would recount their story.

>”WELL. I WAS OUT IN THE FAR DEPTHS OF THE OCEAN, CATCHING BREAKY, YES. NEAR WHERE LEVIATHAN’S TEETH WERE. BIG TALL ROCKS NOTHING GET THROUGH, NOTHING GET BACK. BUT. BUT.” They’d compose themselves whilst still having their beak closed due to your persuasion to keep their voice at room level, or a managed squabble to say the least. “THING IS BE, SOMETHING NEW COME THROUGH, SHINY METAL WHALEY THING.”
There was the money maker in question that was gossiped about earlier during your way towards the beach. You listen in closely to what the cryptic childlike speech of Mamut had to offer in their playful, mischievous demeanour.

>”I DECIDED TO SWOOP CLOSER, HUNGRY, CAUSE NEW THING MUST BE NEW FOOD. ALL OF A SUDDEN, BRIGHT BEAM GO BAM IN EYES WHICH MAKE MY EYES FUZZY AND SCARED. I WAS SCARED THAT IT WAS FIRING BEAM SHOOT AT ME SO RAN AWAY AS KEPT SHOOTING LIGHT. WHATEVER THING IS, METAL WHALE OR SO. IT’S SCARY!”
An interesting development, it seemed this metal whale was neither a delicacy nor defenceless if what Mamut stated subscribed to his overall eyewitness report. Perhaps this was something to consider if you ever had the chance to encounter this unidentified swimming vessel. It appears Mamut has calmed to the point where logical reason can be discussed with him again.

A low rumbling, the point of origin being your barrel-like stomach instead of your own maw. You’re starting to feel a bit famished after all this socialising with your fellow monsters and require something in your tanker to fuel you up. A good couple tons worth of seafood could get you in ship sized shape in no time.

>>4455185
You, Mamut and Trilotitan are generally the more peacekeeping trio of monsters on the island with the exception an select others whom also fall into a neutral category, but if the time calls for it, you will not hesitate to take action and unleash hell if the time calls for it; this is especially for the more violent and bloodthirsty inhabitants who love nothing more but a battered behemoth bleeding on the floor near half to death. Besides this, you do recount Trilotitan stating that Mamut is one of half truths, so it would be best to approach this account with some skepticism. For when you reach the ocean blue, it would be a reasonable decision to seek help from Trilotitan for this seafaring journey, clearly Mamut isn’t going anywhere for the moment being if he was that terrified of an apparent beam attack.

>>4455458
That works! You commit to some mental gymnastics in your head, head to the ocean, find something to eat and then look for Trilotitan or vice versa. Trudging over sturdy boulders and flat slopes, you approach the cliffs edge to notice the almost frozen ocean down below at such a height. Behind you, Mamut is stationary upon a couple of precipice rocks staring at you affectionately as seabirds rest close beside or upon him. Seems like you’re all jungle gyms for the smaller, hapless fauna on this island.

>”DON’T MIND ME, I AM JUST SITTING!” He would screech reassuringly towards you past the gales of harsh wind at such an altitude.

At this height, your already titanic 54 meters is dwarfed by this drop off, standing a couple of miles high, almost nothing in comparison to the higher tundra regions in the northern regions, but still quite the drop down below. With the great apex staring back at you, and a stationary avian monster glancing forth into the waxing midday, you are approached with a few options to tackle this tricky development before you.
>Jump off the cliff into the ocean below, you’re confident your body can tank the impact

Stumbling down the mountain, you find yourself down towards ground level in no time, it seems that descending the mountain was much easier than initially conceived in your mind. [Ocean time! Sorry for the long wait fellas, I've been dealing with homework as of lately.]

Now fully submerged, your monstrous hull has successfully entered the deep vibrant blue that is the ocean, due to your large size, even the strong currents are at your mercy, using your powerful tail as a rudder to propel your armoured mass forth. Smaller prey items such as fish and the common shark that would barely fill your needs dash past to make way for your overwhelming majesty. Golden sands that mirrored the sparkling visage of the ocean’s surface glittered the floor, occasionally being disturbed and clouding the bottom underneath your girth due to the paddling of your abdominal appendage, the monolithic broom sweeping the oceans floor.

Low rumbling could be audible as gangs of bubbles would rhythmically spew from your nostrils to maintain your supply of oxygen for this free dive. Gracefully, your body snakes in movement towards a crossroads to come across a myriad of paths before you. On your left hand side, you are able to see a multitude of cavernous entrances that lead underneath the island, a home place for most kaiju who commit more to an aquatic lifestyle. On your right, you can spot a large forest of kelp which reaches high towards the ocean’s surface, a notable spot for larger prey to hide in which can give quite a surprise if unprepared. Finally, to your front in centre, you notice a wide and vast flat land which is mostly inhabited by sandy floors and the occasional spawn of coral that leads towards the large border in the far most distance, the truly gargantuan precipice figures that seemed to reach for the heavens.

With the branching paths available, you hover off the seabed pondering to yourself, occasionally using your frontal limbs to push yourself off the floor to maintain verticality. You start to deduce in your head what would be the best manner of approach to go towards first.

>Enter the caves, they lead underneath the island where Trilotitan could be situated at the current moment.

Now or never, breakfast isn’t just gonna waltz into your mouth anytime soon. You enter the billowing mass of organic tendrils brush against your underside as you scale above the reef. In that moment, you start to feel unease from reminiscing about your past, to which you realise: you don’t exactly remember.

Whilst it is true you’ve inhabited this island as long as you can remember, vaguely recalling appearing when you were but a fraction of the titan that you are now, anything earlier than that, such as being born or anything leading up to living upon the Devil’s Archipelago, remains quite the mystery locked away in your mind. Spawning from the inner depths of your cranium, you slowly shoal together a few theories on your potential origins: perhaps you came from an egg that washed up on the island, or perhaps you were some result of unnatural means of creation, bestowed as a symbolic means of a greater message; an even a more surreal proposition is that you’re actually super old and are suffering from some sort of kaiju… dementia?

No, that couldn't be right, perhaps?

The more you broke down and tried to rationalise the fact that you can’t remember anything past your memories of living on this land mass, it almost confuses you, perplexing you even. The feeling of not even recalling your history despite having the brain the size of a car almost felt, disappointing in a way, like you’re forgetting something really important. Whatever the case, all this thinking started grating at your indestructible noggin, ascending from deep below the iceberg of thought, you start to come to to back on track from where you left off. Right now, you’re still swimming your marine hull over the kelp forest, yet you’re still in mid thought after that world rocking question that rang in your head tenfold.

In the midst of your titanic existential crisis, you feel a moderate tugging on your tail, causing you to lurch back from your pleasant cruise. Snapping yourself back into reality, it seems this forest of kelp was hiding some rather well camouflaged creatures within its folds. It’s M-shaped eyes narrow in on you as this beast lets out a water-logged screech before throwing you to a more shallow part of the reef bloom.

In an explosion of sand and crustaceans scattered from your mass, you notice the many armed monstrosity fumble it’s way past the flooded mangroves in your general direction, it’s four long dextrous tentacles writhed in a threatening fashion, ushering you that it was ready to brawl in this heated underwater struggle that was about to ensue. Unfazed for the most part, you pick yourself up towards the overgrown mollusc with retaliating intent to fight. For the terror of the deep, this was an intruder who dared swim into it’s blue kingdom, enacting itself upon this trespassing as treason. For you, Dynasaurus, this was a breakfast bell and it was time to rampage.

>[OOC note: Yeah DC is 7. Sorry for the long delay work has been a pain]

You initially tried to spark a conversation with the creature, but all you could really get is unintelligible garbles and hisses. Food is food you suppose.

Gaging yourself towards the mollusc of the deep, you attempt to use your aquatic prowess to try and grab one of the impending tentacles, claws poised at the ready to strike. This… played out so much better in your head. Instead, you feel a rubbery, yet forceful sock slam your robust chin upwards, momentarily stunning you from engaging. Perhaps all of those morning routines really added a level of unattended fatigue, which lead to this sudden hiccup in your starting attack.

Feeling yourself slowly recover from the shock, you notice a firm sensation upon your left claw which held a strong resistance to whenever you tried pulling back, it seems in that brief stun, the Terror had managed to grip on tight with no intention of letting go. Bubbles began to flood the already expansive ocean you were fighting in and you felt this overgrown squid’s grip begin to reel you in tighter and tighter with its elastic vice. This isn’t the first time you had a good fight for your breakfast, and it certainly wouldn’t be the last!

You figured you just had about enough of being swatted about for one day. Underneath your thick leathery lips, puncturing sharp teeth the size of boulders emerge bared in your jaws. Fastening your serrated fangs, you grip the rubbery tendril bounding you and with a ravenous tug you rip the tentacle from it’s socket. A mixture of blood and bubbles filters the waters, with the foe releasing a deafening screech audible even underwater.

Upon removing the annoying appendage, you notice distinct suction marks laced around where it had imprinted around your wrist, it was a good thing you used your teeth to pry it off, otherwise it would’ve more than likely thrown you like a ragdoll like last time.

Defiantly, you stand before your cephalopod nemesis, tentacle dangling in your study jaws like an elastic moustache. The fresh scent of blood attracts smaller reef scavengers such as sharks or predatory fish to shoal around. The Reef Terror on the other hand looks pissed off, considering you ripped off one of it’s own arms, it bares it’s other able appendage raring to strike for another hit.

Wait until it's about to strike and intercept the tentacle by biting it
