Despite your previous messups regarding the previous month's operations, you decided to at the very least, continue with your efforts to destabilize the north while you drafted your immigration control bill to calm down the people.

One day, while you were reading the daily report of your agents up north, one of them sent you some rather worrying information regarding a recent assasination operation, where apparently the agent in question didn't know that there were people besides his target when she threw the granade at him, killing numerous bystanders by.

The Communist authorities, of course, didn't waste the time to take advantage of the incident, and mount a propaganda counter offensive against the ContraGroup, portraying them as merciless killers, and atracting back the support of many people, who just want some peace and stability for once.

Armed with a mix of everything from the lastest military weapons, to ramshackle home-made weapons, and everything in between, the upsrising begins as a full column of agents begin to sytematically take over Kim city at the tune of a local radio song, starting with the red district, all while the other operatives begin to seize vast areas of the countryside, and kick out the communist from many towns.

Still leaderless, the desperate northern goverment nevertherless puts on a brave defense, and it's only with the coming of the Revolutionary guard that the national palace avoid capture. With similar things happening in some of the cities, only barely managing to avoid capture by the contragroup by the thinnest bit of luck, other cities like Chen and Beifan though, weren't so lucky, as the communist forces are forced back into the countryside by the victorious contragroup.

Two weeks after the initial spark, the lines in the map have stabilized as the Second Champan war begins, with China and Russia sending weapons and aid to the goverment, allowing it to recuperate some ground, however, the ContraGroup is still strong, and it's only a question of weeks before either one falls.

With the communist capital currently under siege by the contragroup, you knew that it was too important of a target not to take, and so, you ordered the men to escalate their offensive within the city, bringing the newly shipped light vehicles with them to assault the outer streets and neighboorhoods of the city, using the south champan air force to take down some defenses, as well a couple of communist fighters. The advance is slow, but with each step, your men are closer to the palace.

As the contragroup offensive continues in kim city, the communist continue their own counter offensive desperately in the south to link up their disparate forces in Daegon, this time on the farmlands and woodlands of Lushan.

While you numerically superior forces in Beifan would normally sweep the floor with them, it turns out that the goverment has decided to call up their old veterans from the champan war to help defend the communist cause. Far from old vegetables, these 60+ old men are experts of guerrilla warfare, making the prospect of taking them head on quite the risky gamble for you. Making you think how to best deal with them.

Event 45 "I did what i had to do"

With most of Kim city under ContraGroup control, you knew that it was only a matter of time and effort to finally kick the commies out of their own capital, and deal them a crippling blow.

Armed with the latest smuggled in equipment, over 2,000 contragroup soldiers, alongside 50 light and heavy vehicles and 8 AA guns began their march upon the city historical center, where the goverment palace laid, and most of the presidium of the party were fortified. Alongside most of the war hardened revolutionary guard.

The ensuing battle was intense and brutal, with the contragroup advancing slowly but surely, but suffering serious casualties with each step, for the commies were ready to fight to the last man to stop them, forcing the contragroup to systematically clear every street, every house, and every room as they advance, for fear of harrasment by the communist troops.

That said though, after many weeks of fighting and with the goverment palace still being several city blocks away from the battlelines, one of your aides suggests that you could use the full might of the south champan air force to perform several bombing runs to clear out the communists, decimate their ranks and leadership, and force them to surround.

Even for a proud anti-communist nationalist such as you, this act seems very radical, for it would mean the potential destruction of one of champa's oldest cities, not to mention the uncountable possible civilian casualties, yet, such act at the same time, would practically destroy the communist war effort, and would probably force them to surrender to the contragroup, potentially shortening the war by many months, making you question if such idea would be perhaaps the better option in the end.

Event #46 "A hostage"

With Kim city at the edge of a complete takeover by the contragroup, the communist goverment decided to evacuate the presidium in secret from the city to avoid the capture of their remaining leadership. However, your agents manage to get you this information, upon which, you decided that it was time now for a full assault unto the inner city, complete with some imported tanks.

With the heavy guns at the speerhead, the contragroup, after a bloody and intense struggle, that involved systematically clearing out every single floor, room and closet, they manage to capture the ruinous remains of the goverment palace, thus, signalling their control over the city now almost complete, save a few remnants in the west.

Inside the palace however, the contragroup managed to find quite the exciting treasure, a bunch of communist politicians that got forgotten or were left back during the evacuation of the presidium. While most of them were of lesser rank and complete irrelevance, among them however, there were a couple of high-profile figures of the communist goverment, such as the director of the interior, and the general secretary.

With such valuable hostages, you think, you can perhaaps use them offer what remained of the communist for an end to the fight in exchange for general amnesty for their crimes. While such act would likely end the war now, it would still leave the communists as a significant force in the north, you realize, which could complicate things very much once you begin to integrate the region, making perhaaps a complete unconditional surrender more palatable for what you trying to do.

With the capture of the Kim city interior, the communist goverment is now at it's last legs, all that you had to do now was to continue on with the offensives everywhere to root them out of the country once and for all, for many of them still roamed the countryside in Kim city, while Daegon and Mao still remained under their control.

That said though, the offensive in Mao, while sucessfull at first, failed to kick the communist out entirely, but other than that, the Kim city and Daegon ones were hugely sucessful, with the rest of the commies evacuating kim city for good, while the historical center of Daegon fell under the contragroup.

Event #47 "Look at what i have founded"

As the communist flee from the big cities back into the countryland, they left behind many valuables with them in their retreat, among them several important military, intelligence and administrative documents, as well as most of the north champan national treasury, among other things.

While securing all these important assets at once would be an huge boon for south champa and the contragroup, the reality is that due to the heavy fighting, chaotic frontlines, and deliberate destruction, you can only secure safely one of them, so choose what do you think is more valuable.

With the communist crumbling at every second, you that all that you had to do would be to kick the whole rotten structure down to kick the commies out of champa, that said though, despite your best efforts and greatests offensives yet, the commies, like the roaches that they are just keep refusing to die, forcing your men to once again systematically clear every single house they encountered just to deal with them, getting huge casualties for each step. You still managed to capture the city center of Dai though.

A whole month has more than passed ever since the beginning of the conflict, and now the US of A is once again able to help you, after achieving some sucesses against Iran, the conflict is still pretty much in the air though, but that shouldn't matter for now, for the president is now asking you what do you want for delivery.

Considering their stability situation (17.5, losing 2.5 per province), we should not need to bother with securing mostly contra provinces. We should be able to erode their remaining stability by taking remaining big cities (Xinan, Mao) while using sabotage. We could move against coastal provinces after if necessary.
