INITIATING RECAP PROTOCOL
As you look out at the pure vastness of space, you dwell back on how you even escaped that junkyard planet. You were able to successfully negotiate with Boss, the leader of a terrible bandit clan, but in doing so had to fight against your previous friends, the Moth-like creature and Dumm, the human female from a village who was willing to give up anything to destroy the gang.

You had to kill Dumm in self-defense, but you were able to successfully stun and apprehend Moth, and then get him to begrudgingly help you on your search for a way off the planet. Boss took you, Moth, and two members of his gang on a trip to investigate a old abandoned lab that was rumored to have a shuttle that could leave the planet. However, soon after the group left the fortress, Boss blew it up so the gang couldn't terrorize anyone anymore.

You still can't believe Boss did that to his own gang, but you didn't have time to think on it then. You got to the lab, and after a few mishaps and a fight with a large monster that damaged Boss, you found a shuttle and escaped the planet. However, you were chased down by the Intergalactic Police, but were luckily able to convince a USP research vessel to let you seek asylum on their ship. But because of this, now Moth has to attend trial for his previous crimes of blowing up a space station years ago.

While you want to help your friend, you also wonder if they'll ever reach your goal of escaping your robotic body and getting an organic one, before your emotional systems take over your systems and you can't control yourself anymore.

And as a small note, you remind yourself that the USP are the "United Socialist Planets", and that the UCPS are the "United Capitalist Planet States", and that the Intergalactic Police works for the UCPS.

You're awoken from your thoughts when your audio sensors pick up the sound of a door opening behind you. It's Captain Mikhail, you and Moth turn around to acknowledge him.

"Oh, sorry to interrupt. I just wanted to let you know that if you wanted to learn more about the case, I'll be in my quarters. I realize it was rude of me to not ask if you wanted your own room, but you can use the room of one of your friends if you like."

Moth's grip on you gets tighter as Mikhail says that.

>Looks like Moth wants me to keep him company. Poor kid's probably scared.

"Well, if you want your own room, just tap one of the ship's intercomms and ask it to give you one. If you decide to explore the ship, try not to bug any of the crew members, most of them are sleeping by now. I hope to see you in my quarters later." Mikhail leaves the room, and the door closes automatically behind him.

Moth takes his arm off of you, and goes back to looking out the window into space. "You should probably go talk to him, I'm getting tired and will probably go to sleep myself..." Moth lets out a loud yawn.

You walk over to the intercom in Moth's room, and suddenly a holographic map of the station appears.

>Lets see, right now I'm on the upper deck. The main deck has the captain's quarters, among other departments. Lower deck has engineering which is probably where they're fixing up Boss. The trial isn't happening any time soon, so I should have some free time to just explore, if I'd like. I could also just stay with Moth, he could use my support right now...

>I'll check in on Moth before exploring.

Moth's wiping away his tears while looking out the window. You walk over to him. "Moth, don't worry, I'll make sure you'll be okay."

"Thanks... I should probably try to relax a little, I think the excitement of our little adventure is overwhelming me a bit..." Moth looks around the room. "Oh, looks like that door leads to a shower. I think I'll go take one, then try and sleep."

You only just now notice how dirty Moth is, there's specks of dirt all over his fur. You examine your metal exoskeleton and see that you could use a cleaning as well.

Moth walks over to the bathroom. "When you're done exploring, could... Could you please come back here? It's odd but... I feel safer with you around."

>He looks a little worse for wear, but he should be fine if I leave him alone for a while. Then again, he could just be hiding how emotionally troubled he really is from me.

>I could use a cleaning as well. It would make sense for both of us to shower together.

"Why don't we shower together? I should clean myself up before meeting with the captain again."

Moth's neck fur stands on end and you notice him blush "H-Huh? Y-You can just wait till I get out!"

"But that'll just waste time. It just makes more sense for us to shower together from a logical standpoint."

Moth starts shaking a little. "W-Well... Alright, w-we can shower together. J-Just don't stare at me!" The two of walk into the bathroom, and you take off your coat. Moth slowly takes off his loincloth, robotic wings and carefully removes his head bandages, keeping his back to you to protect his modesty.

"I just turn the nob here, and... Ah!" Warm water begins to pour out of the showerheads on the ceiling and fill the room with steam. The two of you stand under it. "This... Feels nice."

>A shame that I can't feel the nice warm water on my skin. One more reason to try and get an organic body.

Moth starts wiping the dirt and other grime off his fur, and you start rubbing your metal body to clean it. Moth is quiet and seems to be enjoying the heat, but he suddenly speaks up.

"Hey, Robot... Um... I know you feel emotions, but do you feel... A-Any form of attraction?"

>... Do I? I obviously care about my friends and my emotions make me want to protect them, but am I truly attracted to any of them?

Moth interrupts before you can speak. "T-That's probably too personal a question, sorry... But, um... D-Do you think it's weird for someone to be attracted to a robot?" Before you can respond again, Moth blurts out "W-wait, that's a stupid question, d-don't answer it!"

You stay quiet, and Moth continues to enjoy himself in the shower for a while. Eventually he turns the nobs in the shower and turns the water off after you're both squeaky clean. "Right, time to dry ourselves." Moth grabs two towels and hands one to you, and both of you start drying yourselves. You notice that Moth's gotten more comfortable and isn't trying as hard to be modest around you anymore. Once he's dry, he throws the the towel into a corner of the room and leaves the bathroom unclothed. You finish drying yourself and follow him out.

Moth stretches and lets out a loud yawn, and then starts climbing into his bed. "I'm about to pass out, but I have one last request..." Moth looks away from you and blushes again. "Could you... Cuddle me p-please? I've never been cuddled before, a-and I want to know what it feels like..."

"Sure, but you do understand that I'm not warm to the touch, right?"

Moth nods. "I... I'm just worried that this might be my last chance to ever feel loved by someone... E-Er, that probably wasn't the best way to word that, I-I mean-"

"I understand. You're worried that you'll never feel affection by someone again if you lose the case."

"R-Right..." Moth lets out another loud yawn. "Thanks for understanding."

You lift up the blanket and climb into bed right next to Moth. You put his arm around him, and he shivers from how cold you are, but doesn't recoil. "Is this comfortable for you?"

Moth turns around and puts his arm around you as well. "Yeah... I know this probably just feels awkward for you, but thanks for doing it anyway..." Moth's breathing starts to slow, and soon you hear him snoring loudly. Your temperature sensors can feel the heat of his body resting against yours, however it only makes you wish you could actually feel like Moth can. But you keep your emotional desires in check.

>He's out cold. I could probably sneak out and go see the captain while he's sleeping, and then come back. Or I could just go into hibernation mode and sleep with him until he wakes up. Cuddling him just makes me wish for a real body, but making my friend happy also makes me happy.

EXITING HIBERNATION MODE

Your visual and audio sensors turn on, and you wake up to see Moth still laying sound asleep in front of you, cuddling you tightly. He then lets out a loud snore and rolls over onto his back, releasing his grip on you. You carefully climb out of the bed to not disturb Moth. Your audio sensors pick up the sounds of crew members moving about the ship outside your cabin.

>Alright, seems like it's morning for the crew and most of them have woken up. I could go see the captain, but Eyre and the grunt have likely also woken up. Boss could also be fixed up by now. What to do first...

>I'll go check on Eyre and Boss first, then go talk to the Captain. But I should leave some sort of note for Moth so he knows where I went.

As you think about how to leave a note for Moth, he starts to stir from his bed and stretches. "Ah... That's the best sleep I've had in a long time."

"Moth, I'm leaving to go speak with the captain."

Moth rubs his eyes. "Alright, I was told to stay in my room until the trial starts, so I'll just be waiting in here." Moth lays back down on the bed and continues sleeping.

You leave the room and enter the ship's hallway. You spot a few human crew members leaving and entering their rooms, but they pay no mind to you. You tap the ship's intercom and say "Show me the location of Eyre's room.", and a map pops up pointing you to her room. You go to where the map pointed you, and knock on her door.

"Come in." The door automatically opens, and you find Eyre brushing her hair. "Oh, it's you! Any news on Boss?"

You shake your head. "I don't know if they've fixed him up yet."

"Ah. Well, probably for the best, honestly. Knowing Boss, he'd probably do something to get us all put in the ship's prison cells."

"What about that grunt? Do you know where he went?"

"Oh, I believe he went to the bar to drink. He's... Not very talkative, if you couldn't tell already. Won't even tell anyone his name."

>She's right, I haven't heard him speak once.

"Anyway... I'm sorry I can't help much with the trial, I know you care a lot about Moth. Try to keep your spirits up, maybe indulge yourself a bit, er, at least as much as a robot can. All of the service here is free, I could stay here forever... It's so nice to be back among the stars again."

>I can't drink or eat anything at the bar, but I could probably talk to people there. Or just listen in on their conversations. There's also the holodeck, that might be a nice place to check out if I wanted to entertain myself.

"I'm glad that you're doing well. I'll go check on Boss and see how he's doing now."

Eyre nods. "Thanks, I hope Boss is alright."

You leave the room, and start making your way through the halls of the upper deck. You enter the elevator, and take it down to the lower deck. On your way to the engineering lab, you pass by some crew members that glare at you.

>Looks like even here, some people don't like robots...

You ignore them, and enter the engineering lab, to see Boss's inactive body laying on a table while a few crew members examine the hole in his chest. As you step closer, you're stopped by a humanoid alien.

"Oh, you must be the other robot the captain mentioned. I'm Estron, the Chief Engineer of this vessel." says the alien in a
tired, deadpan voice. "I would like to say that your buddy will be up and running soon, but alas, the Captain told me that we're being more closely watched than he originally thought. However..." A slight smirk appears on Estron's face. "He didn't say I couldn't examine and learn about how your buddy is constructed. We're not allowed to have any blueprints or files on how to build robots like you two, so it's very interesting to see what you're like on the inside."

"Please don't harm Boss just to fulfill your desire for knowledge."

Estron's smirk fades. "Don't worry, all we're doing so far is just trying to figure out what we have to do when we're allowed to fix him. That said, the Captain did tell me to give you a tune up if you asked. Not sure if I could upgrade anything of yours, but I could make sure everything is in working order."

"I'd like a tune up."

Estron's face lights up. "Perfect. Just go stand on the charging pad there, it's normally for simple robots without complex AI, but it should work fine with you. You can stay online during the tune-up."

You step on the charging pad, and feel your battery being replenished. Estron kneels behind you, and you unlock your back and head hatches so he can open them up. He starts with your back hatch and examines the internal systems of your body. While he works, you ask him a question. "How is your biological engineering here? Do you possess any technologies to regrow destroyed body parts?"

Estron scoffs. "I wish. I think the USP space station around here has one, but it's purely for medical use and healing only. Being a socialist faction, most of our best technology is in our large planet colonies or space stations where they'll see the most use. The UCPS has better technology than us, but good luck getting to use any of that extremely advanced stuff without paying an arm or a leg. Why does a robot like you care about organic body parts, anyway?"

Estron shuts the hatch on your back. "Alright, looks like everything your body is in order. Now time for the head." He opens up the hatch on the back of your head. "Lets see... Huh, what's this?" Estron digs around in your head with some tools, and takes two things out of your head. "The hell...? You had these two little buggers hiding in your head, looks like someone tampered with you."

You quickly think about who would've had the opportunities to tamper with your systems. "What are they?"

"Well, my scanner seems to show that one is a makeshift tracking device, and the other is a makeshift remotely activated ion bomb. Looks like someone wanted the ability to know your location and shut you down at a moments notice."

>There's only one person who has accessed my head before, and it was Moth... But there's other times I've been in hibernation, so someone could've tampered with me then.

Estron shuts your head panel, and starts dismantling the two devices he found inside of your head. "They're made with really simple parts, but they're well put together. I'd love to met whoever made these. Oh, and your tune up is done. All of your internal systems look fine, but let me paint your arm so you don't have that ugly grey scrap on it." Estron takes out a tiny device and sprays the area where your arm was fixed by Moth, and it turns blue to match the rest of your metal exoskeleton. "There! Anything else?"

"I'm fine, thank you."

Estron gives you a pat on the head. "You're a pretty good robot, I hope the Captain is able to make sure you don't get scrapped."

You exit the engineering lab and once again take the elevator, this time to the main deck of the ship. After a short walk through a hallway you enter the ship's Bridge, where you see a large viewscreen showing the space in front of the ship, and many crew members working at monitors. They pay no attention to you as you walk in, and you make your way to the captain's office. You find Mikhail going through some paperwork on his desk.

He looks up as you walk in. "Ah, finally. Had a nice nap?" says Mikhail sarcastically. "The date for Moth's case is in 72 hours, it was just finalized a few moments ago. The prosecution intend to try and give him life in prison or..." Mikhail sighs. "... The death penalty. What barbarians, still doing capital punishment... However, we shouldn't let that deter us. I volunteered as your lawyer, so I'll do everything in my power to help your case. As long as it's legal."

You nod. "I understand, and thank you for helping us. Please let me know everything about the case so far."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxFFhUvlRiM

Mikhail sifts through some papers on his desk. "I've gone through many cases in my youth, but I don't think I've ever seen one as open and shut as this case. They have evidence that Moth had a motive, they can prove that he had the means to blow up the space station, and he of course had the opportunity to do it. They raided Moth's hideout and found his diary, and they have a witness who was a friend of Moth that can testify that Moth admitted to his crimes. Not only that, they have another witness who they claim can testify that they saw the space station being blown up."

Mikhail puts his hand to his chin and closes his eyes. "To put it simply, they have decisive evidence, two decisive witnesses, and we have absolutely nothing. So I'll ask you, are you aiming to get Moth found innocent, or will you be willing to take a guilty plea to try and lessen Moth's sentence?"

>No, I can't even think about going for a guilty plea. Even if Moth did do it, I WILL find him innocent!

Your emotions control you for a moment and you yell out "I won't settle for anything less than finding him completely innocent!"

Mikhail looks shocked for a moment, then starts laughing. "Hah, seems like you truly do have emotions. I can feel your desire to win. It's too late for me to back out now, so lets discuss the best ways of finding him innocent. We can't prove that he didn't do it, so we shouldn't focus on that. Instead, we need to try and attack the prosecution's case. We'll have to prove that their evidence and testimony is faulty, or simply cast enough doubt on their case. Or we have to find some other kind of legal loophole."

>Mikhail obviously won't approve of me doing anything illegal, so if I want his continued help I'll have stay within the scope of the law, or at least be covert enough that he doesn't notice.

"One "positive" about our case is that the entire space station blew up, and there were no survivors other than Moth. All of the data on that station was lost as well, so they don't have anything like security camera footage or audio logs. While their evidence is damning, they actually lack any concrete evidence that Moth himself blew up the station. They also can't claim that Moth escaping is a crime, because their experiments were actually illegal. However, I doubt we can try and argue that Moth was justified in killing an entire space station's worth of people just because his creation was against the law, so we should probably avoid that angle of reasoning. Do you have any ideas or questions, Robot?"

"I'm afraid I can't think of anything. Do you have any other suggestions?"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0muwEn_FQYE

Mikhail leans back in his chair. "Well, lets overview the case as we know it. Moth's being accused of blowing up a space station. He is the only survivor of said space station. He crash lands on a unnamed and purposefully unrecognized planet, where he meets the prosecution's first witness. Do you understand so far, robot?"

You nod.

"Good. Now witness one claims that Moth admitted to blowing up the space station. To make things worse, the prosecution finds Moth's hideout and his diary, in which he details how he escaped and blew up the space station. And for the final nail in the coffin, they have a second witness whom they claim saw the station blowing up. Is that all clear?"

"Yes."

"Perfect. Now, do you see any aspects of their case that we could easily attack? Remember who the prosecution is, they're the UCPS. If we're to win this, we'll have to exploit any weaknesses they have, even if it might seem irrelevant to the case at first."

>What part of the prosecution's case seems the weakest so far?

Where are they storing the diary? Could we perchance get our hands on it in secret? Seems like a better idea than trying to find a loophole at this point.

"Do you know where the diary is being stored?"

"No idea, the UCPS are handling all of the evidence. I hope you're not thinking of doing anything illegal with it."

"Of course not. But I can't think of anything. I'll head back to my room for now."

Mikhail sighs. "I'll admit I'm quite stumped as well. I'll be sure to let you know if I come up with a good plan." Mikhail goes back to doing paperwork, and you leave the bridge. You head back to Moth's room, and find him sitting on his bed.

"Oh, you're back already! Someone came by and installed a charger in the corner over there just for you. How's the case planning going?"

>Maybe I shouldn't tell him that it looks impossible for us to win. Oh, I almost forgot, Estron found a tracking device and a remotely activated ion bomb in my head, and Moth's the most likely suspect for tampering with me. Maybe I should ask him about it.

"Moth, the chief engineer found a tracking device and a bomb inside of my head. Would you know anything about this?"

Moth stares at his feet. "... Yes. Back when you first activated your emotions and started freaking out, I put those inside of your head after I stunned you. I was afraid that you'd do something drastic like run off or try and kill me. I'm sorry..."

>Now that I think about it, that explains how Moth knew I was at the fortress back when I went to go see Boss for the first time.

"The case isn't going great."

You walk over to the charging pad, then explain all of the details of the case so far to Moth, and as he listens he just keeps staring at the floor.

"... And that's everything I know so far. It looks bad, but I'm still going to try to get you found completely innocent."

"You should've just gone for a plea bargain, really..."

"I refuse. I will find you innocent. Do you have any ideas on how we could break the prosecution's case?"

Moth closes his eyes. "Well... The UCPS don't want to acknowledge the existence of the planet we were on because if they do, they'll have to stop corporations from illegally dumping there. I don't know how that could help, but maybe you could find some sort of loophole there?"

>That's right, they didn't bother pressing any charges against me, Boss, or Eyre because all of our crimes happened on that planet, and they don't care about the crimes Moth committed there as well. But how can I use this to our advantage?

"Thanks, I'll keep that in mind Moth."

Moth stops staring at the floor and looks at you. "So... What else are you going to do today? It's still pretty early... I think. It's hard to know the time when you're in space. It's kinda boring being stuck in this room, I wish I could visit the bar, I've always wanted to try alcohol."

>He seems to be in a good mood at least.

A possible defense: Moth did not intend to blow up the station

Diary at: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive/4276440/#p4280415
From what we know, Moth just overcharged the station's engine. This could plausibly have been done to not destroy the station but disable it enough to prevent it from catching Moth's escape pod or firing upon it with weapons.

Who destroyed the station, then? A few alternative theories:
1. Space station staff intentionally destroyed it to cover up all traces of their evil experiments. That way, friendly ships can't discover them while rendering assistance and hostile ships can't take their valuable work.
2. Hostiles attacked the ship, perhaps for the secret experiments, and the resulting battle destroyed the station.
3. The engine failed either due to being defective or due to the crew not responding properly. (This theory still leaves Moth partially responsible, which isn't ideal)

Why did Moth disable the other escape pods? Perhaps he didn't want staff to follow him and kill him, or worse yet, bring him back to the station.
Why did he brag about it? To look cool, probably.
>>

Oi! Thanks for this anon!

This gives me hope for Moth!
>>
I just caught up with the whole story, and I've had an idea bouncing around in my head since early on that might make for a decent plan B.

It's entirely possible for multiple personalities to exist in one head. Our programming might not be sophisticated enough to insert our personality into Three's brain without formatting the drive, but if he's okay with the idea then perhaps it would be possible to find an alternative means of making a partition in his head for ourself?

>I should check on Boss.
You wave goodbye to Moth, and he waves back as you leave the room. You make your way through the vessel, passing by crew members who either ignore you or give you passing glances.

When you enter the engineering lab you see Boss laying on the table just like he was yesterday.

Estron sees you and walks over. "Oh, it's you again. Shame we can't get your buddy up and running yet, but Captain's orders."

As you stare at Boss's inactive body, an idea crosses your mind.

>Right, I still need to hear Moth's account of the story. I've read it in his journal, but I haven't heard talk about it himself.

After a short trip through the ship and a ride on the elevator, you enter Moth's room again, to find him pacing around the room.

Moth hears the door open and looks up. "Oh, you're back already! Do you need something?"

"I want you to tell me your side of the story, tell me exactly what happened on that day the station blew up."

Moth looks a little shocked, but composes himself. "... Alright. I'm not sure how it'll help your case though..."

Moth takes a deep breath, and a look of fury appears on his face. "I had been planning the escape for a while. I convinced them to give me a better brain chip, and was able to hack into the station's systems. I waited for when no one was near my cell, and then I overloaded the engine. I manipulated the door systems so only I could reach one of the escape pods, and locked all of the other ones. I made sure only I escaped that station alive."

"So, you really did it then?"

Moth nods. "And I'm glad I did. I would've given those scientists a more painful death if I could've."

"A potential spy just listened in on me talking to Moth about the case. They got away, I suggest a ship-wide lockdown and sweep."

Mikhail sighs. "Lots of crew members come and go from the dorms on the upper deck, they could've just been passing by. I'm not subjecting my crew to a lockdown just because of someone's suspicion. Did you see who you think was listening in?"

"Only their back, they wore a blue uniform, and had black hair with a ponytail."

"Sorry, my VPU likes to think for itself sometimes. What would you recommend for someone's first time drinking?" You tap the area on your face where your mouth would be if you weren't a robot. "Asking for a friend."

And if we can, start creating an alibi for Moth now. Begin saving visual/audio input as a, preferably, time stamped file to support plausible deniability of this act. Check to see if anyone's in the hallway and if so, invite/convince them to take shelter inside our room so we have a witness to confirm.

We may be able to pin the blame of Moth's explosion on the "unidentified rouge terrorist" that created this one, regardless of whether such a character exists.

Your emotions tell you to rush to the engineering lab to save Boss, but you restrain yourself.
>I should remain calm. Moth needs to be protected as well.

You look over at Moth, who's just laying on top of his bed, out cold. Your memories are forever recorded and timestamped within your memory banks, so you now have evidence of Moth's alibi for this explosion.

>Last thing I need is for Moth to be accused of causing ANOTHER explosion.

Your audio sensors pickup the sounds of crew members rushing outside of your room. You open your door and peek out into the hall, and see crew members running by into their rooms. You try to get someone's attention, but they're all too focused on taking shelter to notice. You re-enter your room, and keep an eye on Moth.

>Well, at least we're safe in here. The crew should be able to handle whatever exploded in the engineering lab.

Your audio sensors pick up the sound of a thump, and you look over to see a crack in the window to your room. There's another thump, and the crack gets larger. Your visual sensors see nothing but endless space behind the window.

>Something's breaking into the room, but I cant' see it! If that window breaks both me and Moth will be sucked out into space!

>Grab Moth and take shelter in the room's bathroom

>I have to escape this room and save Moth!

Quickly, you grab Moth and lift him over one shoulder. You run for the door and as it opens automatically, you hear glass shatter behind you! The door automatically closes on your arm and air rushes out of the room. You hang onto the unconscious Moth with your other arm.

You overclock your AI systems so time slows to a crawl.

You attempt to wedge your elbow against one half of the door, but you slip and your arm falls out of the door! You go flying out the broken window and into space! You're filled with despair.

>No... This isn't happening. My sensors are malfunctioning.

You can't bring yourself to look at Moth, as you know he's probably already suffocating to death. But after a few moments, you turn and look at where Moth should've gone flying out, and see that you're alone.

>What!? Where did he go?! Whatever broke the window must've kidnapped him!

You scan the space around you with your visual sensors, and notice something odd. There's a spot close to you where you don't see any stars.

>There! That must be a ship with some sort of cloaking device! But... How will I break in? I don't have any way to move in space, and I'm floating away from the ship every second!

Panic fills you as you realize you have no way to stop yourself from drifting in space. Your emotions once again unlock a system you recently forced off.

Self-control, I'm afraid the time has come for us to part ways once more. Here's to seeing you again soon, when hope is again within reach.

> CRUSH KILL DESTROY everyone until we contain it with a high dc control check

> We're floating in space
> With no obvious sources of delta-v
> And only plot armor to protect us
> Among trigger-happy anti-robot warships

Our first priority would be to disable hearing, and vocal communications to conserve TDP, and check how long until we overheat (no radiative convection).

Second to check how vacuum rated we are, and how long until one - or more - systems fail due to we not being designed to operate in space, thus relying on an atmosphere - maybe gravity - to run. Also, cosmic radiation would be a problem for any non-rad-hard electronics.

Third - look for non-obvious sources of delta-v. Do we have any significant reaction mass:
> Navigation gyroscope
> Turbomachinery
> Spinning around activating the servomotors in one of our joints (neck, hips?)
> Detach a limb, and throw it away at high speed, and we start flying in the other direction as per Newton III.
> Maybe we have vacuum rated missile weapons, if so, a dex check to use them as a vernier engine? (if not vacuum rated, atmospheric rocket engines carrying oxidizer would be extremely inefficient, but they could work.)

Fourth- try not to look menacing. We don't need any more guns trained at us. Get on Checkov's stealth ship, and get back near Moth. Maybe as a show of goodwill, radio the ship we were on to warn them about the incoming stealth ship. (Although something this obvious must have shown itself on our ship's sensors.)

Aren't our rockets part of our combat systems? Can we even get Moth back to an atmosphere if we do this? If so we should get one of those masks on Moth asap since it looks like they gave the terrorists O2.

Would killing the last terrorist (neutralizing the last sapient threat) but not leaving allow for an easier switch to a mode that would allow us to better neutralize the remaining threat (the self destruct sequence) which might be better solved with application of thought based AI systems?

A wave of emotions hit you you read the view-screen. You're completely overwhelmed with a feeling of relief and joy. Your AI system was so overclocked that you need a moment to rest and collect your thoughts, as your AI systems are still working at lightning speed. >I should run a deeper self-diagnostic.

You check all of your internal systems to make sure they aren't overheating. While your AI system was overclocked, it didn't get hot enough to get to dangerous levels. Your AI systems still feel a little weird due to your overwhelming emotions, but you think you're in control.

>It's a good thing I don't have to really worry about overheating, but I should try to keep overclocking to a minimum, just in case. My emotions are my main problem right now.

After finishing your self-diagnostic, you search the ship for a way to plug up the breach. You open up a box and find what look like inflatable walls, and you take one over to the hole. You pull the string on the inflatable wall, and it automatically inflates and conforms itself to plug up the hole in the wall. Once it's plugged, your atmospheric sensors detect air filling up the ship.

>Moth is my first priority. I'll search the shuttle while the room re-pressurizes.

You pace around the shuttle, looking in boxes and cabinets for anything of note. You find a box full of medical supplies, and a cabinet full of the large laser guns and energy swords that the terrorists were equipped with.

>I probably shouldn't touch any of this stuff now, Mikhail would probably want it all as evidence. That is, if I decide to turn over this shuttle to Mikhail. I could always just steal it.

Once your atmospheric sensors detect that the atmosphere in the room is enough for Moth to breathe, you walk over to his cryo-pod and press a switch at the base of it. The liquid in the pod drains and the glass at the front opens up to release Moth, and he falls out of the pod.

"Ow!" Moth slowly gets up and shakes himself to get all of the moisture off his fur. "If you're going to capture me, you can at least be ni-" Moth looks up and sees you, and jumps back in shock. "W-Wha... You... You killed them all?"

You nod. "Affirmative. We are safe, for the time being."

Moth looks a little put-off by how much blood you have on you, but he smiles anyway. "T-Thank you so much... I'd hug you, but I'd rather not get blood all over my fur."

"The sentiment is appreciated. Moth, we have free access to this ship. Would you like to use it to flee, or return to Mikhail's ship?"

Moth looks around and examines the inside of the ship. "Wow, you really made a mess of the place... As I said before, I don't want to keep running from my problems. But... If you think the case is unwinnable, and you want me to live... I'd be okay with running for a little while longer, as long as it's with you."

>Aw, Moth...

"... Wait!" Moth jumps a bit, as if he just remembered something. "What about Boss? I know you care about him as well, if we leave, what'll happen to him?"

>Oh no, I forgot about Boss! If there was a breach in the engineering lab... That means that these terrorists could've kidnapped Boss as well! Can I really just leave him behind...?

>Try and use the control panel to contact Mikhail's ship
>Try and figure out how to get the ship moving so we can flee

Goddamn you voters are quick, I couldn't delete and fix my fuck up fast enough.

Well, I suppose since Moth is awake...
>Ask Moth what he knows about these kidnappers.
Depending on what Moth has to say about the matter, it might be good to not have Mikhail within earshot.

If he doesn't have enough to say to blow up one whole post:
>Try and use the control panel to contact Mikhail's ship
... And offer the ship up to him to be searched for evidence hopefully linking the attacking party to the UCPS.
>>
Even if we don't find anything on the ship, the fact that these glowies knew exactly where Moth and Boss were is evidence that they were working for the UCPS.

"You're right, I have to find out what happened to Boss first. Do you know anything about your kidnappers?"

Moth shakes his head. "I can only guess. They're probably working for the corporation that made me, not wanting to lose all of the money they invested into me, most likely."

>If they were smart, they probably wouldn't have left anything that could connect them to their employers.

You motion for Moth to follow you to the control panel. "We should try getting into contact with Mikhail's ship. Moth, do you know how to operate this?"

Moth examines the panel. "Hmm... They're all unmarked, but I do know some stuff about ships... This button should open hailing frequencies..." As Moth's hand moves to the button, you remember that's the one the terrorist used to activate the self-destruct!

"WAIT! NOT THAT ONE!" You stop Moth from hitting the button.

"Huh, why- Oh! That must be the self-destruct button, silly me! THIS is the hailing frequency button!" Moth hits a button next to the one he was going to hit, and the words OPENING HAILING FREQUENCY appears on the view-screen. "Nice! Now we just have to hope Mikhail is ready to talk with us."

After a few seconds, Mikhail appears on the view-screen. "Terrorists, why did you-" Mikhail notices you and the carnage behind you. "... Er... I... I'm glad you're alright?" Mikhail looks completely and utterly confused. "Did you...-"

"Let me explain." You explain everything that happened after being shot out into space.

"Intriguing... Thank you for explaining." Mikhail turns around and paces around the bridge. "However, I'm afraid I don't have good news for you. Your robotic friend was kidnapped, and a number of my crew members were killed. Not only that, the UCPS refuse to delay the trial. We only have about 24 hours left." Mikhail looks too ashamed to face you.

"Is there no way to convince them to get the trial delayed?" You ask.

"The only thing that could get them to delay is if Moth somehow went missing, and if this conversation never happened." Mikhail says, looking away from the view-screen. "It sure would be unusual if somehow this conversation was deleted from my ship's records and I just happened to forget about it..."

>He's giving us a chance to escape! But why? Does he feel like he failed me because Boss got kidnapped?

>End the conversation and escape while you can
>Ask for Mikhail to have his crew search this ship

>Ask for Mikhail to have his crew search this ship

I suspect Boss isn't there, but it's worth a shot. If it doesn't work:

>Ask for Mikhail to have his crew search this ship

>Also thank Mikhail for everything.
>>
>>4412673
> End the conversation and escape while you can

We're going to be on the run from Moth's creators for the rest of our lives anyway, why not dodge the trial while we're at it
>>
>>4412681

I meant >Escape while you can on the duplicate
>>
>>4412673
we have no reason to doubt the word of the captain.
>>Ask if they had a heading for the ship that took boss then

"Do you know what ship took boss?"

Mikhail looks down. "No. Whatever ships they have, they're too advanced for us. We can't even scan the one you're on right now. They just broke into engineering, slaughtered my engineering crew, and stole the robot." You notice Mikhail's voice start to crack.

>It can't easy knowing your co-workers and friends died and that you were powerless to stop it.

"Mikhail, you might forget about this conversation, but I will never forget about you and your kindness. With all of my being, I thank you for all of your help and support."

Mikhail lets out an empty laugh. "Ha... I don't deserve this thanks just for doing what any good captain should do. But it would be rude of me to not appreciate your sentiment. I'm sorry for being unable to keep your friend safe, I wish you luck on your jour-"

"WAIT!"

Suddenly, Eyre rushes to the bridge and pushes Mikhail over! "OW! What the-"

"Please take me with you!" Eyre yells. "I-I mean... You're going to need a good pilot. I doubt that insect will be good enough for you to escape getting caught. Plus, Boss would probably kill me if he finds out I let you get harmed."

Moth whispers to you. "I'm a fine pilot, and the more people we have join us will just make it harder to escape getting caught."

Mikhail stands back up. "Ugh... Well, this lady isn't part of my crew, so it's your choice, Robot. Want me to teleport her over?"

You nod. "Of course you can join us."

Eyre smiles. "Thank you so much. I'll run over to the teleporter room!"

Mikhail re-takes his place on the bridge. "She's an... Eager one, isn't she? As I was saying, I wish you luck on your journey. Once
Miss Eyre is sent over, all records of this conversation will be deleted. End transmission." Mikhail disappears from the view-screen and it goes back to just showing space. A few moments later, you near a noise and see Eyre teleport in just behind you.

"Urgh... Never liked teleporting." says Eyre, as she holds onto her stomach. She looks around the ship. "URMPH, Ah... That's... A lot of blood... And body parts." Eyre's face turns green. "... Never was good around gore..." Eyre pulls herself together and stops looking at the mess. "Alright... Thanks for letting me join you."

"Your piloting expertise will be invaluable on this journey." As you say this, Moth crosses his arms and pouts.

"I've always wanted a ship of my own to fly, and this is probably the closest I'll get to it." Eyre runs over to the control panel, and her face lights up like a child in a candy store. "Heh, they thought they could just leave all of the buttons unlabeled so someone couldn't commandeer it. This baby looks like it can go to lightspeed as well... Well, what are my orders, Robot?"

You stare out into space through the view-screen. "For now, just get us out of this area."

"Got it, "Captain!"" Eyre chuckles to herself.

Moth stands next to you. "Robot, I'm sorry we have to keep running like this..."

"It's fine, Moth. As long as I have friends like you and Eyre around, everything will be fine."

Eyre starts messing with the buttons and knobs on the control panel. "Alright, prepare for lightspeed warp!"

You feel the ship lurch forward, and you see the stars become lines of light as the ship reaches lightspeed. You feel despair knowing Boss is kidnapped, but as you stare into the great unknown you feel hope.

>I will find Boss, and I will find a way to escape this metal prison one day. I couldn't find Moth innocent, but I'll always do my best to protect my friends. Nothing will stand in our way!

Thanks for playing, everyone! Unfortunately I'll become busy soon, so I won't have time to continue for a few months. If you guys have any comments/criticisms for the quest, please let me know, I'd like to improve as a QM even though I don't QM often.

Thank you for running, OP!
I don't suppose you'd be interested in cobbling together a Discord server to stuff your players into so we don't wind up getting lost?

All I have to say is something about the art. Dunno if the others agree, this may be more of a personal appreciation and I don't follow this quest closely so take this with a grain of salt, but I feel that you should give mouths and different head and body shapes to your characters, especially the humans. It'd extend the range of emotions they can show and they wouldn't all look so alike. You could also make their limbs a bit thicker and longer, especially for the robot MC.

The dialogue is good, no criticisms there.

I'm afraid I prefer remaining anonymous, just lurk /qtg/ for updates, I'll post there when I have enough time to start up this quest again.

>>4412961
Yeah, my art could definitely improve. Hopefully with this hiatus I can use some time to improve my MSpaint "skills".

Thanks for running

Might be a bit late for this but we should probably come up with a name for ourselves, even if only a temporary one.

My suggestions are iuvo which is the Latin verb for "to help" or foris which is the vocative singular noun for "door/gate"
