Last time, on Dragon Ball Tuffle Quest Kai! Gohan fought hard and faced challenge after challenge in the Afterlife Tournament, facing Yazai and claiming victory, and finally fighting against Pikkon in the finals! However, the battle is interrupted by the dimensional barriers breaking down due to the monstrous Janemba! Meanwhile, Peppa and Izumi head to the high-gravity planet Z’S with Acer and Monty, exploring the ruins of the world and discovering Magical reactors strewn across the city. After a run-in with the Para Para Brothers and Cheelai, seeking fortune from the world’s hidden riches, things take a dark turn as the Demonic Namekian spawn Bongo and the Big Gete Star arrive on the world back from the dead! Working with a local of the world, an octopus-like dragon named Nazar, Acer, Peppa, Izumi, and even Monty manage to defeat Bongo and stop his plans to take over the world with the Big Gete Star! But the weakened dimensional barriers are threatening even Earth. Will this mess be sorted out before things spiral out of control? Good luck, Peppa! Good luck, Izumi! Good luck, Gohan!

“You… think you’ve won…?” Bongo asks weakly as his body, what’s left of it, starts to compress under the world’s gravity. “I’ve escaped Hell once already… h-heh… only a matter of time until I’m back…”

“How did you escape in the first place? Answers, now!” Acer demands.

“My body simply… returned to me, along with the Big Gete Star. From there, it was as simple as stepping through an open doorway. The largest I could feel. H-heh… heh… heh…” An unsettling squishing sound can be heard as his body starts to give out. “I’ll… be… back…”

Bongo finally expires as his body is crushed, leaving behind a bubbling puddle. Monty does what he can to try not to hurl at the sight of that. Well… that’s over, but that was an unsettling bit of information to go with that unsettling end to his life. But what to do now?

Peppa…

Peppa…

“Want me to bring anyone else up to the station? Uncle Acer, Monty?” you ask.

“Might as well. We need to regroup and figure out a plan.” your uncle tells you.

“I probably do need a bit of a recharge, but… I also have something I need to do down here.” Izzy says, her mech landing next to the octo-dragon thing. “I’m going to try and fix those Hakkero things.”

Acer turns to her and lets out a disapproving “Izumi…” as he crosses his arms.

“Bongo said he came here through an ‘open door,’ right? The ‘largest he could feel’? If they stay open, he’s going to come right back through them, and who knows what else. If I can close them, we’ll at least have that problem settled.” Izzy’s mech looks to the octo-dragon. “Nazar, do you think I’ll be able to do that?”

“{SUCH A THING MAY BE POSSIBLE. THE HAKKERO REGARDLESS REQUIRE MAINTENANCE.}” it answers.

“Okay. Then I’ll be heading back to Earth soon.” you mention. “Some stuff’s going down there and I was not liking what I was hearing.”

Acer sighs, but nods. “Then we’ll keep watch up here. I’ll stay in contact with Maple and try to coordinate if there are any other things going on.” He then tosses Izumi a Capsule. “Hold on to that and use it if anything starts getting too difficult.”

She nods. “Will do, dad. I’ll keep in touch.”

And with all that, you take Acer and Monty back up to the station, then finally head back home. Hope everything’s going okay…

Izumi…

“So, Nazar… quick question!” You face the octo-space-dragon. “Do you know any techniques to restore my reserves of energy?”

“{WE DO. DO YOU REQUIRE RESTORATION?}”

“It’d make solving this all the easier.” you reply with a quick laugh. Its body glows slightly and you quickly feel your energy fill right back up. “Thanks! Now, what to first?”

“{NOW THAT THE ONE WHO BOUND US HAS BEEN DEALT WITH, WE SHALL DEAL WITH THIS HAKKERO.}” Nazar starts to float out of the room, and so you follow after.

“What exactly will need to be done to fix it?”

“{THE FLOW MUST BE REBALANCED. THE CRYSTAL YOU USED TO DEVELOP THIS… FORM WILL PROVE EFFECTIVE.}” As the pair of you leave, it seems to get an… odd look in its eyes. “{IN TRUTH WE WERE SURPRISED YOU WERE ABLE TO VANQUISH THE ONE WHO BOUND US SO EASILY. DESTRUCTIVE POTENTIAL LIKE THAT IS RARE AMONG MOST MORTAL SPECIES.}”

“Hey, I just did what you asked.” you comment, just a bit more wary of how it phrased that. “Your fault if you underestimated me.”

“{INDEED.}” Nazar looks ahead. “{FOR NOW THOUGH WE SHALL FOCUS ON THE TASK AT HAND.}”

You get to the main reactor area, where Nazar was bound, and observe carefully. You can kinda get a better sense of how… “off” it all feels. Hrmn. Hope things on Earth are going okay…

As you sense Peppa teleport away, you look over the Hakkero. Having the mech move to it, you ask Nazar, “Can you explain how exactly I should be able to fix this? What are the steps I will need to go through?”

It floats closer to the reactor and takes a moment. “{FOR THIS ONE, THE IMBALANCE WEIGHS HEAVILY TOWARDS DARKNESS, AS MANY HAVE SINCE THE EVENT. THE MAGICS MEANT TO BE IN BALANCE NOW FLOW TOWARDS IT. THE FLOW MUST BE CORRECTED, NEW LINES PUT IN PLACE TO REINFORCE IT.}” It seems to need another moment to find the words to properly and more directly explain it, but it becomes more clear once it does. “{THE FLUID GOLD YOU SAW BEFORE ARE THE… ‘CIRCUITS’ THAT REGULATE THE FLOW OF MAGIC. YOU WILL NEED ALTER THE FADED ONES, OR CREATE NEW ONES TO REPLACE THEM.}”

“Okay, that sounds simple enough.” Guess you’re playing technician. You do have a good idea on how the “circuits” were set up, shouldn’t be too hard with him guiding you. “Anything else that I should be aware of?”

“{BECAUSE THE MAGIC HAS NOT BEEN REGULATED FOR SUCH A LONG TIME, IT MAY GIVE OFF… ‘DISCHARGES’ OF UNREGULATED ENERGIES. WILD MAGICS. YOU WILL NEED TO BE WARY AND STEEL YOURSELF SHOULD THEY REACT POORLY WITH REPAIR ATTEMPTS.}”

Oh. Oh that’s encouraging. Well… at least you’ve got some proper warning. You look to the Hakkero. How shall you go about this?

>A. It’s proper to have power shut off when doing repairs, no? Attempt the MP Buster to lessen the Magic present in it as you materialize new liquid gold circuits
>B. Should try to get this done quickly, start laying down the new circuits where they need to go but be ready for any “short circuits” of magic

“Nazar… I have one more question.” You have your mech face it. “A skill I’ve been able to pick up recently is something that was made to remove Magic from certain things. Aunt Maple called it the MP Buster. Often with some use in battle, but it might be able to help in this situation… though I feel like there’s something more to it than that. What do you suggest?”

Its eight arms move around the reactor slowly, and you feel a soft energy coming off of it. “{BLOCKING IT COMPLETELY WILL TAKE LONGER TO RESTORE, IF WITH LESS RISK TO YOURSELF. HOWEVER… YOU MAY BE ABLE TO BETTER REGULATE THE FLOW OF MAGIC USING THIS POWER.}”

“Regulate it, huh? …Yeah, yeah that works. We can’t exactly slow down, but it’d be best to minimize risks. Okay, I think I’m ready. We ready to go?”

As if Nazar was waiting for you to ask that, it lifts the top of the reactor and reveals strange, almost crystalline structures underneath, bits that look like petrified wood… and glimmers of that liquid gold from before. “{YOU SHALL FOLLOW OUR LEAD. LET US BEGIN.}”

With the top off, Nazar uses its own magic to set up some prep lines and… even kinda siphon off some of the excess power from it, all the while you materialize new gold circuits and use the MP Buster not to completely stop energy from flowing but rather to move it along the lines you lay down, coordinating it so as to prevent any “short circuits” of Magic from erupting. While it does take some time and a bit more Magic than you were expecting, the gravity of the area starts to normalize, and with the last circuits in place, the top of the reactor is placed back on it by Nazar. The gravity is still easily 100x that of Earth’s, but it’s a dramatic decrease from the insane amount you were experiencing previously.

“All in a day’s work!” you declare with satisfaction. “Where to next?”

“{THERE ARE STILL MORE HAKKERO THAT REQUIRE MAINTENANCE. WE SHALL LEAD YOU.}” Nazar tells you and heads out. Once outside, you feel that there isn’t really anything else with the two of you, besides some native fauna. Well, that’s good news at least. Still…

“You mentioned ‘the event’ several times already, and something about a ‘planet eater.’ It did sound like it was what caused all this. Can you tell me more about it? I would appreciate details.”

Nazar doesn’t look directly at you when it begins its answer. “{WE DO NOT SPEAK THE TRUE NAME OF THE PLANET EATER. EVEN WITH RUMOR OF IT BEING VANQUISHED, OUR KIND WAS BROUGHT TO THE BRINK OF EXTINCTION, AND OUR PLANS IRREVOCABLY RUINED. THE PLANET EATER CAME TO DRAIN THE VERY LIFE ENERGY FROM OUR WORLD, SENDING THE PROTOTYPE HAKKERO INTO DISARRAY AS IT DRAINED THE MAGIC FROM THEM.}”

That’s… ominous. “So this… Planet Eater could drain life from entire worlds? What the heck was it, some kind of demon?”

“{YOU COULD CALL IT THAT. THOUGH IT WAS DRAWN AWAY, OUR POPULATION WAS DEVASTATED, AND THE DISASTER FOLLOWING THE PROTOTYPES’ DISARRAY BROUGHT ONLY FURTHER RUIN. OUR NUMBERS DWINDLED AS WE WORKED TO FINISH THE HAKKERO PROJECT AND PROVIDE SOME FORM OF RELIEF FOR OUR WORLD.}” It… then goes silent as you reach the next reactor. “{WE CAME TO BELIEVE IT WAS IN VAIN.}”

“Well… hey, I helped you fix one of them already, didn’t I?” you ask. “How many more can there be?”

“{THREE IN THIS CITY REQUIRE MAINTENANCE. MORE EXIST ACROSS THE PLANET. WE SHALL NOT ASK YOU TO FIX THE REMAINING THOUSANDS.}”

“Ah don’t be li- …thousands?” You blink. Thousands.

“{RESTORE THE ONES THAT WE ASK OF YOU. THAT IS ALL. YOUR POWER IS NOT INEXHAUSTIBLE.}” It takes you closer to the next Hakkero, the two of you heading inside.

>A. What were you working towards, anyway? You said something about plans, so…

As the two of you get inside the building, you ponder over what Nazar told you. “So… what exactly were your people working towards, anyway? You said something about plans, so…”

Reaching the reactor room proper, it slows its movements. “{OUR PEOPLE HAD VAST KNOWLEDGE OF THE WORKINGS OF THE UNIVERSE AT OUR KIND’S HEIGHT. WE KNEW OF THE REALMS BEYOND THE MORTAL ONE. ABOVE…}” One of its arms reaches upward. “{BELOW…}” Another reaches downward. “{BEYOND…}” Two arms stretch out in different directions. “{AND MORE.}” And now, all eight arms stretch out before coming back together. “{WE KNEW MUCH OF THE DEMONS, THE GODS, THE KAIS, AND THE GREAT DESTROYER.}”

https://youtu.be/Z5_vYuNfW5Q

The way it says that last one is… kind of unsettling to you. As if the psychic words it projects into your mind hold a sort of reverence for it. “Ooookay. And your people’s… plans?” you repeat, getting to the Hakkero.

Nazar turns towards you as it begins to lift the top of the reactor, again quiet for a moment. “{YOU ARE AWARE OF HOW YOUR WORLD GAINS ITS GOD, YES?}” it asks as if it already knows the answer. You have your mech slowly nod anyway. “{OUR WORK WAS SIMILAR IN NATURE, BUT AIMED EVEN FURTHER ABOVE.}”

You start to tense up just a bit. “...You wanted one of your number to become apprentice to the ‘Great Destroyer?’ Why?”

“{BEFORE CREATION, COMES DESTRUCTION. IN ORDER FOR SOMETHING NEW TO THRIVE, ROOM MUST BE MADE FOR IT. SOIL MUST BE TILLED FOR CROPS TO BE PLANTED. STONE MUST BE CARVED FOR A STATUE TO BE MADE. ENERGY MUST BE CONSUMED IN SOME FASHION. BUT CREATION AND DESTRUCTION MUST EXIST WITHIN BALANCE.}” With the top completely off, it begins to work just like before, you working along with it, carefully. “{JUST AS WE DEVELOPED THE HAKKERO TO HELP BALANCE, REGULATE, AND… UTILIZE ENERGY MORE EFFECTIVELY.}”

“So let me make sure I’m understanding this. You respect this Great Destroyer and your people sought to have one of you apprentice under it in order to help keep the universe in balance?”

“{EXCESSIVE DESTRUCTION LEAVES LITTLE ROOM FOR LIFE TO THRIVE. THE DUTY OF THE KAIS ABOVE ALL IS CREATING AND CARETAKING, BRINGING LIFE INTO THE UNIVERSE. THE DUTY OF THE GREAT DESTROYER IS REMOVING THE ROT FROM CREATION, SO NEW LIFE MAY THRIVE.}” Nazar’s eyes look right at you as it states, “{YOU DISPLAY GREAT POTENTIAL FOR CREATION AND DESTRUCTION. YOU HAVE SO FAR SHOWN UNDERSTANDING OF THE NEED FOR BALANCE.}”

>A. You know, I have met some Kais before. Even kicked one’s butt in a tournament with my friend Sachie’s help
>B. Is destruction really so necessary that it requires someone like that to dish it out?
>C. I’m noticing you’re not giving a name for this “great destroyer” either. Why so?
>D. You… should stay quiet, not exactly liking the direction this conversation is going

“Is destruction so necessary that you need a whole position like that to dish it out? Like, I can get the idea of having someone to fight against evils that show up, god knows we’ve had plenty of those, but you’re making it sound like this ‘God of Destruction’ or whatever is out there trying to actively stop such things. I’ll tell you now, pal, we’ve been handling it just fine.”

“{YOU SEE FROM THE TIMESCALE OF A MORTAL, THE SHORT TERM. THE GREAT DESTROYER OPERATES ON THE TIMESCALE OF MILLIONS OF YEARS, JUST AS THE SUPREME KAIS DO. DESTROYING THOSE HARMING CREATION IS BUT ONE PART OF SUCH A POSITION. THE UNIVERSE MUST BE BALANCED IN ORDER TO THRIVE.}” Nazar explains… still giving you that same creepy look.

You turn your head back down to focus on the work. “All right, all right, sheesh. I get it, keep universe in balance, Destroyer destroys and Kais create.” As you set down more circuits, you chuckle to yourself. “Actually, funny thing. I fought a Kai fairly recently.” You hear Nazar’s head move up, looking at you curiously. “For real! Was in a tournament, my friend Sachie and I kicked his butt. Heh, we’re cool now though.” You think. Eh, come on, like that Kibito guy would really hold a grudge over this. He’s a Kai! He’ll be fiiiiine.

“{SO YOU HAVE.}” Nazar comments, actually sounding intrigued. “{OUR REMARK STANDS. YOU HAVE POTENTIAL RARE IN A FELLOW MORTAL. POTENTIAL FOR CREATION AND DESTRUCTION.}”

“If you say so.” With one last few lines of liquid gold, the reactor finally seems stabilized. Again, the gravity returns to about 100x that of Earth’s. The animals you’d seen previously in the other areas show up once more, moving less lethargically as they gather around the reactor. You clap your mech’s hands together and then dust them off. “Two down, two to go, right?”

“{TWO MORE ARE WHAT WE ASK OF YOU.}” it confirms. All right! You’ll have this done in no time! …Hope everyone on Earth is okay.

‘I’m here, what’s up?’ you respond, taking to the sky and heading towards the next one.

‘Unusual how?’

‘Felt like one of the Machine Mutants we fought a few months ago. But I’m not sensing it right now, and that’s what’s worrying. Keep an eye out for it. Monty’s currently working with the Patrol while I help Maple out.’

‘Will do, dad.’ Hooh. Great. One of the Machine Mutants again, huh? …Kinda glad Peppa went back to Earth now, she’d noooot be taking that news very well.

You immediately sense out, trying to see if you can locate anything else around… but you can’t feel anything out of the ordinary. Well, this planet’s ordinary, at the very least. You stay focused and head on with Nazar, but comment to it, “I just got notification that another threat may be here. Stay alert, it’s not shown any hostile intent just yet, but it may be waiting for the moment to strike.”

“{WE SHALL KEEP WATCH, THEN. ALL THE MORE REASON TO COMPLETE MAINTENANCE QUICKLY.}” Nazar responds, moving forward just a bit faster.

You reach the next reactor… the one you and Peppa had been to previously, with the more normalized gravity. Well, this should be done with quickly! The octo-dragon ignores the animals you’d seen previously… and you spot that they scurry away from it. Not ignore or tolerate its presence like they did with you and Peppa, but actively avoid it. Almost like there’s an instinctive fear of it. Well… you guess that makes a kind of sense, no? Even on Earth, some smaller animals have an instinctual wariness of people.

…Yet there’s something that feels off about it, still.

Nazar reaches the Hakkero, once more lifting the top of it. “{THIS ONE HAS HELD UP RELATIVELY WELL COMPARED TO THE OTHERS. THIS SHOULD BE OVER QUICKLY.}” It then once more looks right at you. “{THIS FOE YOU MENTIONED, WE SENSED FAMILIARITY IN YOUR TONE ABOUT IT. YOU HAVE FACED IT BEFORE, YES?}”

“Might have. How about you? Did your people face foes like that before the Planet Eater? Threats to your world like that?”

Nazar’s gaze grows more intense for a moment as the two of you repair. Unnervingly so. After seconds of silence that feel like minutes, it gives you a simple “{YES.}”

You rub the side of your head, your mech mimicking the movements and stopping the repairs for a moment. You blink twice. So Nazar’s… not really giving you much to go off of. “…Yes, and?”

“{OUR PEOPLE POSSESSED POWER AND KNOWLEDGE THAT MANY WERE ENVIOUS OF. OUR INFLUENCE EXTENDED TO MANY WORLDS. THOSE THAT RESPECTED OUR POWER KNEW BETTER THAN TO CHALLENGE US. THOSE THAT FEARED OUR POWER BUT BELIEVED THEMSELVES BEYOND IT WOULD MAKE ATTEMPT TO THREATEN OUR WORLD. ALL FAILED. ONLY THE PLANET EATER TRULY CLAIMED ANY SORT OF VICTORY OVER US.}” it explains to you. “{YOU SHOULD FOCUS. WE ARE NEARLY DONE.}”

You give a nod and the pair of you finish the repairs. So they did have enemies, but Nazar claims that those enemies never won against its people… this still feels like it’s leaving out some details. The pair of you head outside again, and you notice that the wind’s started to pick up. Looking overhead, it seems like a storm’s coming in. Strange that you didn’t notice such a thing before, though with the thick atmosphere of the planet maybe they can happen much more quickly.

Nazar though seems to find this suspect, and floats up higher. It looks off into the distance… then declares, “{ANOTHER INTERLOPER IS MAKING ITSELF KNOWN.}”

…You can kinda sense something faint. Though, not weak. More like it was actively being suppressed. And… it does feel familiar.

>A. I’m heading towards it, Nazar, you move to the last Hakkero

“Nazar, I’m going to head towards that. You go for the last Hakkero. I’ll keep in contact in case you need anything.” Your emerald aura surges up around the mech. “This shouldn’t take too long.”

“{WE SHALL MAKE CONTACT IF THE NEED COMES.}” it responds, flying away.

You start moving towards the Ki signature you sense, only for it to vanish suddenly. Or… suppressed once again. You slow down and focus as the storm grows stronger, winds picking up and battering your mech with the intense, high-pressure air… and you just narrowly avoid a bolt of lightning that jolts down from the sky. “I know you’re there! No sense hiding, buddy.”

“I AM NOT HIDING.” a voice calls from… all around you. “NOW I RECALL YOU… YES. IZUMI MAHOGANY. YOU ARE THE ONE WHO STRUCK ME DOWN. YOU DISPLAY AN ABILITY YOU DID NOT HAVE WHEN WE LAST MET.”

“Ah, so you ARE one of Baby’s minions. And you managed to escape from Hell too?”

“I AM ARASHIO.” the Machine Mutant declares as he appears on the city wall. “IT WOULD SEEM I HAVE ARRIVED ON PLANET Z’S, SOMEHOW DRAWN TO YOU AS I PASSED THROUGH THE HAKKERO GATE OF THIS WORLD.”

“So it w-” Wait what. WAIT WHAT?! “H-how do you know of the Hakkero? And that do you mean ‘gate.’?”

“THEY WERE PUT IN PLACE BY THE LIKES OF KING YEMMA TO REGULATE THE PASSAGE OF SOULS FROM THE REALM OF THE LIVING TO THE REALM OF THE DEAD.” Arashio points his spear in the direction you sense Nazar went. “Z’S WAS CATALOGED AS HAVING DEVELOPED ONES ARTIFICIALLY. LORD BABY WISHED TO FIND OUT HOW SUCH A THING WAS ACCOMPLISHED ONCE HIS CONQUEST OF EARTH WAS FINALIZED.”

“Well you’re not going to! I’ve been fixing them and I’m not letting them fall into the wrong hands, buddy!”

“YOU ALREADY HAVE.” His spear points towards you. “YOU HAVE BEEN DECIEVED.”

“I HAVE NO REASON TO LIE, AND EVERY REASON TO CRITICIZE YOU FOR BEING TOO TRUSTING. BUT YOUR IGNORANCE OF THE PAST IS NOT SURPRISING, YOU KNOW NOTHING OF THAT… THING’S RACE.”

“No cryptic bullshit.” you demand, taking a fighting stance. “Answers, now.”

A flash of lightning followed by a deafening crack of thunder crashes through the area as Arashio declares. “THEY USED THE HAKKERO TO CHEAT DEATH.”

…Oh. Ohhhh. Oh that’s not good. “How?! How can that be?!”

“TO PREVENT THEIR SOULS FROM PASSING ON TO THE AFTERLIFE, THEY DEVELOPED THE HAKKERO TO STORE THEM, BIND THEM, UNITE THEM. WHATEVER MAGICS THEY DEVELOPED WERE NECESSARY IN KEEPING THE CONSTRUCTION OF SUCH DEVICES.” Arashio looks down his… face at you. “THEIR DETERIORATION AND THIS…” He looks to his hand. “PHENOMENA… MUST HAVE AWAKENED THAT THING FROM ITS SLUMBER.”

“Why? Why go through all the trouble?”

Lightning crashes behind the city’s walls. “TO CREATE A GOD. TO CONTROL THE UNIVERSE THROUGH THEIR IDEA OF BALANCE.”

“You tell me all this in hope of turning my attention back to Nazar, right? And leave you alone?” You cross your arms. “Don’t think so.”

“SO YOU WISH TO FIGHT ME?”

“I’ve got a different idea.” You have your mech point at him. “You’re coming with me. I propose a temporary truce. The two of us head to Nazar and you present your accusations and evidence before I call any sort of verdict.”

“YOU BELIEVE IT WOULD BE SO WILLING TO SIMPLY TALK? AFTER YOU HAVE HELPED IT ACCOMPLISH SO MUCH ALREADY?”

Playing it the hard way, huh? “Do you want to risk facing me and wasting your time and energy? If Nazar is as dangerous as you claim, you should be willing to accept help. Or maybe you can wait for me to kick your ass another time instead of potentially teaming up with me and letting Nazar do some real damage on me. So, this is on you. What’ll it be?”

Arashio coldly and silently looks down at you. He then starts to fly up, spear no longer held in a ready position. “THOUGH YOU WERE FOE TO LORD BABY, YOU ARE STILL TUFFLE. I SHALL HOLD YOU TO YOUR WORD.”

You nod, and the pair of you fly off. Hope you’re not too late…

Okay, first thing’s first. ‘Dad, you’re not going to believe this…’

‘There are few things I wouldn’t believe. I am definitely wondering why I’m sensing one of those Machine Mutant guys NOT attacking you and apparently moving along with you. Also why there’s a thunderstorm in the area, but I’m guessing it’s related.’

‘Soooo… you remember those Machine Mutants that were fighting us alongside Baby? Yeah he’s one of them. Back from the dead too. Arashio, and-’

‘Oh great! Just great!’ Acer exclaims. ‘And WHY are you helping him, exactly?’

‘He told me Nazar is up to no good. I more or less told him if he’s going to make such accusations he should make sure he says it to Nazar’s face aaaaand well now he is.’ That about sums it up, yes.

‘I- …Fine. I’m heading down there again soon though, as soon as I finish helping Maple. Don’t hide your Ki and use that Capsule if you start to feel low on strength.’ dad instructs.

‘Will do. Keep in touch.’ Let’s see… oh, should proooobably do one more thing. ‘Nazar, you sense Arashio headed your way with me, right?’

‘{WE HAVE.}’ it affirms, not showing any emotion in its response. ‘{YOU HAVE AN EXPLANATION FOR BRINGING THE INTERLOPER TO US, YES?}’

‘Well, he’s been saying some things that are definitely pretty accusatory. I’m not going to immediately trust him until I get the story from you both, and having him tag along seemed like the only way to guarantee he wouldn’t start attacking either myself or you first chance he gets.’

‘{YOU CLAIM SUCH, BUT DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE HE WILL HOLD TO IT?}’

‘One way to find out.’ You have your mech look to the Machine Mutant. “So, you going to tell me why the dead are roaming the Earth, too? Whatever brought you back isn’t unique to this planet. I want answers.”

“THE DIMENSIONAL BARRIERS ARE IN DISARRAY. WORLDS WITH STRONGER CONNECTIONS TO THE AFTERLIFE SHOULD BE THE MOST HEAVILY AFFECTED. EARTH IS ONE SUCH WORLD. WHATEVER IS THE CAUSE, HELL NO LONGER HOLDS THE SOULS IT ONCE HOUSED IN PLACE.”

“Dimensional Barriers… is this Towa’s doing?” This SEEMS like something she’d do…

“WE HAVE NO EVIDENCE TO PIN THIS ON HER.”

“So, I’m guessing the Hakkero have something to do with the stronger connection to the Afterlife, yes? You do seem to know a good deal about them. However, fixing them did actually help the planet a bit, and my Magic managed to repair them, so… what EXACTLY are they?”

“THEY ARE A CONNECTION FROM THE REALM OF THE LIVING AND THE REALM OF THE AFTERLIFE. THE REALM OF HEAVEN, HELL, AND THE KAIS’ WORLDS. THE ONES CONSTRUCTED HERE THOUGH KEEP THE SOULS FROM TRAVELING TO THERE THROUGH CAREFULLY BALANCED MAGICS.” Arashio’s face looks forward intently. “AND FUNNEL THEM INTO ONE GESTALT BEING. THE GOD-MAKERS’ ULTIMATE CREATION, A BEING CAPABLE OF BECOMING A GREAT DESTROYER THROUGH THE INFUSION OF SO MANY SOULS. WHATEVER CAUSED THE DIMENSIONAL DISTURBANCE MUST HAVE AWOKEN THE BEING YOU CALL NAZAR.”

The pair of you land outside the Hakkero’s octagonal exterior, moving inside as the storm passes overhead, looking more like a hurricane as it grows stronger, it taking considerable effort to keep yourself from being thrown around by the winds. You… definitely can feel something a good deal stronger deeper down, where the actual Hakkero resides. You also notice electricity spark around Arashio’s body.

Both Nazar and the Machine Mutant feel like they’re getting ready for a fight.

>A. Arashio, we’re talking this through first. Fair warning, I WILL step in if you pick a fight

“Arashio.” you speak up in warning. “We are talking this out first. So fair warning, if you start a fight, I WILL be stepping in.”

“YOU ARE ENTIRELY TOO TRUSTING IF YOU BELIEVE IT WILL KEEP TO THAT.” the Machine Mutant responds.

“I’m being fair here. And the same goes for you, Nazar. I don’t want you fighting him until you both have had chance for dialogue.” you speak aloud, but also telepathically to the octo-dragon. “What EXACTLY are you hoping to accomplish here, anyway?”

“{RESTORING THE HAKKERO TO-}”

“No, I want you to be honest with me. Why is this fourth one so important? You were adamant that we fix them, but hearing what Arashio has said does not fill me with encouragement. So tell me.” The pair of you get ever closer and closer, Nazar growing noticeably stronger. “You needed my help with the previous ones, after all.”

There’s an uneasy silence as you and Arashio manage to reach a pathway, with a light filling up the entrance to the Hakkero proper. “{VERY WELL.}” Nazar begins as the pair of you reach the entrance. “{OUR GOAL IS TO COMPLETE OUR PEOPLE’S WORK. WE SHALL FREE AND JOIN WITH THE REST.}”

You see the body of the octo-dragon glowing ominously with a purple aura. It… does look a bit bigger than when you last saw it. Arashio points his spear at it. “AND THEN BEGIN YOUR ATTEMPT TO BALANCE THE REST OF THE UNIVERSE, NO?”

Nazar looks dismissively at the Machine Mutant. “{YOU PRESUME MUCH, SPAWN OF A PARASITE. BALANCE MUST BE RESTORED TO THIS WORLD FIRST.}”

“Wait, so you’ve been having me help you… in order to do the rest on your own? Am I getting this right?” you ask, trying to move between them.

“{TO A DEGREE, YOU ARE CORRECT.}” Nazar replies… and gives you an uneasy, discomforting glare. Something… in its eyes feels off, somehow. “{NOW WE ASK THAT YOU NOT INTERFERE AS WE COMPLETE OUR WORK. IZUMI MAHOGANY. <LEAVE>.}”

Your hand moves to your head as you feel a pressure inside your mind. Agh, what is…?

You get between the pair and yell out at them, “STOP!” You have your mech hold out its hands as the two seem ready to face off. “Nazar, listen! That’s enough! You need to stop, right now! I’m not exactly on board with what you just tried to pull even if you think you were helping me, but you can’t just go at ‘em like this!”

“THEN STEP ASIDE AND-”

“And nothing! Arashio, lower your staff! You’re the one trying to pick a fight here, and if you continue I WILL stop you! Just like I did last time!”

Electricity sparks around him as his aura intensifies. Nazar’s does too. “{IZUMI. WE APPRECIATE THIS GESTURE, BUT WE WILL NOT LET THIS INTERLOPER TAKE CONTROL OF THE HAKKERO.}”

“You’re both overlooking the bigger issue here!” you yell out in exasperation. “Arashio, didn’t you say the universe’s dimensional barriers are out of balance? That’s why you, and previously, Bongo, managed to pop in here, right?”

“CORRECT.”

“So, Nazar, the Hakkero being out of balance means that this planet is all the more likely to be affected by it. We need to do something to close it, first and foremost! If Arashio and Bongo could get through, imagine what else might cross over! Something worse, wishing to take your people’s work and abuse its power! Is that what you want?!”

“{LIKE WHAT THIS INTERLOPER DESIRES CURRENTLY?}” It asks you. It’s not listening.

“I AM GOING TO PREVENT YOU FROM MAKING THIS WORSE.” And agh HE’S not listening either. The two swerve around you and get ready to clash…

And so… you step back. “Tch… fine! You know what?! You idiots fight it out yourselves for all I care! I am FIXING THIS MESS!” You have your mech form the Hero’s Barrier as you also send out the Spirit Bits, having them form a barrier around the Hakkero as you head away from their battle. Gotta get this done quickly. You set the new lines of circuit and, at the very least, are able to time things well enough to avoid the two damaging what little repairs you needed to finish. Whew!

…But not enough that you’re able to keep them from damaging the REST of the building. Pillars surrounding the Hakkero are toppled as Nazar flings Arashio off of its body and accidentally through one of them, the Machine Mutant getting back up and managing to stab towards it with his spear, sending a powerful blast of Lightning at it. You quickly bring the top of the reactor back on as the blast is arced around and ends up taking down another pillar. Grraaahhhh!

“Nazar, REALLY?!” you blurt out. “Shouldn’t you be trying to protect this area too?!”

“{AS LONG AS THE INTERLOPER CONTINUES THIS, WE MUST DEFEND OURSELVES.}”

Arashio raises his staff up high and another blast of electricity hits the roof of the building and cracks it open, though the octo-dragon actually stops the attack and seems to hold it in place, forming it into a sphere. Its eight arms then push at it and fling it back at the Machine Mutant, who deflects it away and… it ends up headed towards you! Damn it! Your barrier is able to stop the attack as you bring it up, but these two are REALLY going to do some damage if this keeps up!

>A. All right, that’s it! Throw them BOTH outside so you can fix the PILLARS now too!
>B. Better try to stop the two from fighting further as best you can, while you’ve got the strength to do so

With fury in your eyes, you dash at the battling pair. “Okay THAT IS IT! OUT! BOTH OF YOU!” you yell and try to grapple the two of them, creating lassos made out of reinforced PTO armor to try and grab them. They manage to move out of the way at first, but upon seeing what you’re attempting to do, Nazar swerves back to avoid one of your lassos and actually knocks Arashio into it instead. Well… okay then. You fling the Machine Mutant out the hole he made in the roof and turn your attention to Nazar. “Out.” you demand, your mech’s other lasso ready to grab it too.

“{THE INTERLOPER HAS BEEN REMOVED. YOU HAVE DONE ENOUGH. NOW LEAVE AND-}”

“You didn’t stop when I asked you to. I’m still working to fix this mess!” You have your mech fling its arms out and gestures at the toppled pillars. “Are you going to let me fix this or not?!”

“{YOU HAVE DONE ENOUGH. UNLESS YOU WISH TO REMOVE THE INTERLOPER ENTIRELY-}”

“Oh I’m definitely willing to have him plug whatever hole there is that caused him to head through if this keeps up, but even after you reiterated the importance fixing these things, you allowed this to happen!” You again gesture at the toppled pillars.

“Nazar. I’m not going to stop until I can guarantee that more people passing through like Arashio or Bongo. I am trying to FIX THIS. Are you going to still stand in my way while I’m trying to help?” You narrow your eyes and lower your arms. “I want to help. Don’t make this hard. I didn’t save you from Bongo just because I wanted to see you destroy yourself in battle like this, because you were doing what you’re meant to do. Please, all that I ask is that we hold this off until we find a way to right this imbalance. Is that acceptable?”

The octo-dragon floats silently in the air, eyes fixed on you. For a brief moment, it looks into the hole Arashio made… then looks back at you. “{THESE TERMS ARE ACCEPTABLE.}”

You smile softly. “Good.” You then hold out your mech’s hand, and heal Nazar’s injuries. And with that done, you make sure to pop the Capsule dad handed you previously, restoring your strength once more. Wow these Ki Containers are valuable! Gonna have to hand it to everyone for finally completing them.

You sense Arasiho above you all, having broken the binding you placed him in. He stares down at the two of you. You look back at him, then head to one of the pillars to fix it, but displaying enough Ki to make it very clear you’re not going to let their fight continue without intervention. Thankfully, he seems to get the hint, and merely waits silently as the storm continues above you. With them repaired, the Hakkero glows gently. Nazar motions for you to head up with it, and the two of you head through the hole in the roof, you sealing it back up once you’re out.

“WHAT DO YOU INTEND NOW?” Arashio questions.

>A. We work together to, at the very least, try and stop more of the dead from heading into this world. Now, will you two help?
>B. Arashio, where, when, and how, EXACTLY, did you cross over? I need details

“We work together. To, at the very least, try and stop more of the dead from heading to this world. Now, will you two help me out here?” you ask of them, extending your arms. The pair remain silent. “Guys. Come on. Temporary truce. If you really need to go back to fighting each other once it’s done, that’s one thing, but right now, we have a common goal here.”

“{VERY WELL.}”

“SO BE IT.”

Like pulling teeth with these… ugh, whatever. “Okay, let’s collect what we know and try to get this figured out. Nazar, your people must have SOME info on how things work from this side, right? How they travel to the Hakkero and into the afterlife?”

“{OUR PEOPLE DID, YES.}”

“So might you be able to tell us anything about the reverse?” you ask.

“THE REVERSE IS HAPPENING BECAUSE OF THE DIMENSIONAL BARRIERS BREAKING DOWN.” Arashio.

“Right, right, but what I’m asking is if there is some way to keep them from entering the afterlife, there must be some way of keeping them from escaping, yeah? Something about how the Hakkero work?” Please, please be on the right path here…

Nazar considers this for a moment. “{PERHAPS. IT WOULD REQUIRE A DEGREE OF ALTERATION, THOUGH. IT WOULD ALSO TAKE LONGER THAN YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO LAST.}” it replies.

Ngh. Well, it’s a start. “Okay, okay, then Arashio, give me when, where, and how, EXACTLY, you ended up on this world.”

The Machine Mutant floats upward, a green glow appearing in its hand… as it forms a hologram of sorts. Huh. Handy. Muwehehehe, “handy.” Agh, focus, Izzy, focus! “MY SOUL WAS GIVEN A BODY ONCE MORE AS HELL WAS ALTERED.” The hologram, now clearly showing things from his point of view, shows spiky mountains slowly changing into these… weird pincushions shapes. The “sky” gains an off color to it, like if someone attempted to paint the parody of a sunset. These… bizarre jellybean shapes float through the sky almost like they’re “clouds” of some kind. “AS THE DIMENSIONAL BARRIERS WEAKENED, I MADE AN ATTEMPT TO OBSERVE THE DISTORTIONS.” The view changes again, and Arashio floats upward to investigate one of the jellybeans up close, scanning it quickly, then moving on to more points of interest. “ONCE I DISCOVERED THAT THERE WERE CONNECTIONS TO THE MORTAL REALM, I WENT FOR ONE THAT WOULD PROVE THE MOST USEFUL.”

“Wait!” you call out. “What’s that?” You point to some kind of building and serpentine road in the distance, trapped in one of the jelly beans. There’s also some kind of figure above it.

“THE CHECK-IN STATION. SOULS CANNOT BE PROPERLY PROCESSED WITH IT SEALED OFF LIKE THIS. SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNTS OF NEGATIVE ENERGY WERE DETECTED IN THAT DIRECTION. I HAD NO NEED TO RISK A BATTLE WITH WHAT I DETECTED IT WAS CAPABLE OF.”

“Huh… so, that’s probably one way to fix it. Maybe Gohan, Tapion, Minotia, and the Supreme Kai are already at work trying to take that down…” you wonder aloud.

“REGARDLESS, ONCE I FOUND A SUITABLE PATH, I WENT THROUGH IT.” Arashio sends out a pulse of energy that opens up to… right outside the interior of the Hakkero you and Nazar fixed before this one! “PLANET Z’S WOULD BE OF GREAT USE TO US MACHINE MUTANTS.”

“{IT IS NOT YOUR WORLD TO CLAIM.}” Nazar warns.

“Guys, guys…” you speak up. Hrmn… yet, maybe this could be helpful. “Okay, last question. How many worlds would have Hakkero-like things on them? Artificially created and otherwise.”

“BY LAST COUNT OF PLANETARY DEVELOPMENT, APPROXIMATELY 40 IN TOTAL WOULD HAVE SOME FORM OF HAKKERO. HOWEVER, WORLDS SUCH AS THIS ONE, AND EVEN EARTH, WOULD PROVE MORE VALUABLE FOR THOSE ATTEMPTING TO CROSS OVER FOR CERTAIN DENIZENS OF HELL.”

“Forty worlds is a lot… but, that does sound like you’re able to narrow it down a bit.” you comment. “Okay, think I’ve got an idea!”

“{WHAT DO YOU PROPOSE?}”

>A. If the Supreme Kai and his students are already trying to fix this back on the other side, we just need to find a way to keep the “hole” plugged until they’re done. And if they’re coming through broken Hakkero like Arashio did, that narrows it down a bit
>B. Nazar, is there any sort of network that this world’s Hakkero operate through? Some kind of gathering point, anything? Maybe we can use that to operate more of them at once and make this more manageable
>C. Arashio, do you think you’ll be able to go BACK through where you came from, via the Hakkero? If so, maybe we can pass over together and take this to the source of the problem

“Okay, first thing’s first…” You get in contact with dad once more and explain all you’ve heard and what you’re doing… aaaaand he’s kinda understandably disgruntled by yet another change to the gameplan, but happy that there’s at least SOME coherency to all that’s going on.

‘So they’re DEFINITELY putting together a truce, right? They’re not just saying this to get you off their backs?’

‘I believe they understand just how dire this situation is at the moment.’ you reply. ‘In any case, think you’ll be able to help?’

‘I do. I’ll be down in a bit.’

Okay, good. Good. SO! Game plan. “If the Supreme Kai and his students are already trying to fix this, then that just means finding a way to ‘plug the hole’, so to speak, so no more denizens of end up leaking out. And if they’re coming out of the Hakkero like you did, Arashio, that helps narrow it down.”

“{AND WHAT DO YOU PROPOSE WE DO ABOUT IT? MERELY SHUTTING DOWN THE HAKKERO IN SUCH A DAMAGED STATE WOULD PROVE PROBLEMATIC IN THE LONG RUN.}”

“Well… would there be some sort of ‘network’ that the Hakkero of this planet would be connected through? Or like, some sort of gathering point? Anything like that? Because if so, we might be able to work with more of them at once.”

It looks towards the large pyramid structure in the center of the city. “{THERE IS SOMETHING WE MAY BE ABLE TO MANAGE… THOUGH IT POSES GREATER RISK}.”

“Well, let’s hear it.” Any ideas are on the table at this point…

“{A CENTRAL ACCESS HUB FOR THE HAKKERO RESIDE IN THE CAPITOL BUILDING. ACCESSING IT WILL NOT ALLOW US TO SHUT DOWN THE REMAINING DAMAGED HAKKERO, BUT WE MAY BE ABLE TO REDIRECT ANY ATTEMPTS TO PASS THROUGH THEM TO IT.}”

Arashio holds his hand upward, calming the storm slightly. “AND WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF YOU REDIRECT IT?”

“{WHATEVER ATTEMPTS TO PASS THROUGH WILL END UP THERE. WE WILL HAVE TO SERVE AS THE ‘PLUG’ TO KEEP THEM FROM CROSSING OVER.}”

“We as in… you, or all of us?” Gotta be specific.

“{WE COULD MANAGE IT ON OUR OWN, BUT IF YOU AND THE INTERLOPER INSIST ON BEING THERE, IT WOULD PROVIDE BETTER SECURITY.}”

>A. All right, this is a solid plan. Let’s go!
>B. If you can do it on your own, it might be better. We can keep a look out for anything outside of that

“All right! This is a solid plan! Before we go though, two questions: might there be any way to detect what’d be coming through, so we aren’t doing this blind? And should it come to that, what plans do you two have to deal with them?”

“MY ABILITIES ARE VERSATILE, THOUGH I AM ABLE TO FIGHT BETTER UP CLOSE. I AM SURE YOU RECALL OUR LAST BATTLE.”

“{WE WOULD BE BETTER AT A DISTANCE, ABLE TO OPERATE THE HAKKERO NETWORK AND ATTACK FROM AFAR.}”

“Okay, that’s something we can work with. Let’s go!” The three of you head off towards the central pyramid. And thankfully, dad ends up dropping off right in front of it too. He’s definitely uneasy around Arashio, and shows more wariness of Nazar, but keeps up a stern and ready stance around them.

Nazar guides you all down deeper into the pyramid complex, dad recognizing a few areas as you pass through the sub levels, until you come across an octagonal pattern on a large wall. The octo-dragon lets out a pulse of energy that opens it up into… a much more natural-looking area. Still clearly carved and shaped like the rest of the pyramid, but more like it was built from the bedrock of the planet rather than something crafted and put into place. It leads to a pathway heading even deeper into the ground, and then… a much larger, much more elaborate Hakkero. There’s something about it that radiates a different kind of aura.

You look around and also notice things that seem like the terminals you’ve seen in the observation areas of the reactor buildings. Nazar stretches its eight arms and uses telekinesis to operate several of them at once. “{FAIR WARNING, OPENING THIS WILL CAUSE A FEW WEAKER ENTITIES TO BE PULLED THROUGH ONCE WE ACTIVATE IT.}”

“We can handle that.” you state.

The Hakkero lets out a red glow, and the whole area shimmers ominously. You feel something start to come through. Not very strong, actually. Dad lets out a soft “huh” sound as if he recognizes the Ki signature. With Arashio moving closer, you all take point. Here it comes…

“SKREE!” a… small, green alien shrieks out as it pops forward out of the area shimmering the strongest. It lands in front of the Hakkero and looks around. It then convulses and screams out in pain as it starts to be crushed by the gravity. Arashio casually blasts it with a green wave of energy to put it out of its misery.

“SAIBAMAN. MINIMAL THREAT LEVEL.” he notes.

“Huh, forgot about those. Guess there would be a lot loitering around in Hell. Surprised they’re even there in the first place, to be honest.” dad comments.

“{A STRONGER ENERGY HAS NOTICED THE OPENING.}” Nazar warns. All of you get ready. Here it comes…

It’s… a lady? Some… lady with pink hair. She seems dazed for a moment, then lets out a dark blue aura around her once she feels the pressure around her. Dad seems confused for a moment… then he recognizes her. “You!”

“Ngh… wait… you…” She looks towards your dad. “…Hahaha. Acer Mahogany! Well well well, it’s been so SO long!” Her tone sounds oddly casual. “How you been, dude? And… what the hell kind of company are you running around with now?”

“Dad. Who is this?” you ask, trying not to sound accusatory but growing more confused by the second.

“One of Doctor Gero’s Artificial Humans. Sugil.”

“Aww, you remembered! Man it’s been how long…?”

…Sheeee doesn’t seem like an active threat. But Artificial Human? Like 19? Arashio points his staff at her. “YOU HAVE TO GO BACK.”

Sugil cracks her knuckles. “Oh? Is that a fact?”

“Your call dad, you seem familiar with her.” you mention to Acer.

Sugil stares in surprise. “Dad…? Waaaaait… haha, you’re that little kid of his aren’t you?” You see her make an… angry kind of smile. “I remember you. You, and Peppa, and Gohan. Aww, little Izumi’s all grown up now!”

“All right, all right, come on, back you go.” dad matches forward and starts to push her back into the portal she came from.

“H-hey! HEY!” she protests, letting out a quick explosive wave and backing away. “Rude!”

“Back into hell, come on.” dad demands. “The gravity of this world is a bit too intense for even you. You won’t last for very long. Back into Hell.”

Her aura flares up higher. “Oh I don’t think so, Acer.” She starts to manipulate her aura, condensing a considerable amount of it behind her. “You think I’m not aware of that? You think I’m stupid or something?”

“YOU ARE CARELESS, CREATION OF GERO.” Arashio comments, grabbing her by the collar and tossing her forward. “AND YOU HAVE TO GO BACK.”

“YOU SON OF A-!” Sugil manages to stop herself right before she hits the portal. “So we’re doing this, are we?! FINE! DRAGON… FIST!” She lunges forward and… perfectly mimics uncle Goku’s attack, though the end result mirroring her dark blue aura.

Dad not only blocks the attack in spite of the bulky suit he’s in, but even pushes it back, firing a Revenant Driver at her that knocks her off-balance. Arashio smacks her with the bottom of his staff, and like some bizarre grim reaper shoving souls down into his soul bag, pushes her back through the portal she came from.

In spite of that, though, you can hear her still yell through the portal, her words echoing past the shimmering waves passing through the room. “You think that’s going to keep me out?! I ain’t sticking around here any longer! Now you listen and you listen well, I’ll find my way back to Earth, and when I do you mo- ghk!” She’s stopped suddenly, the view of where she ended up fading a bit, but… you start to hear soft gasps of pain. A green blur covers her body as the distortions make it harder to see what’s happening. Yet… for a brief moment, you get a clear glimpse of what happened to her. Her body mutated into a monstrous form, like some kind of green demonic… bug… thing.

The mutated form of Sugil grins menacingly, and speaks but two words: “Thank you.” And then… she… it… flies away.

“...Should probably be worried about that.” dad comments.

“IGNORE IT. FOCUS ON BIGGER THREATS.” Arashio orders.

“{WE HAVE MANAGED TO CONNECT WITH ENOUGH HAKKERO FOR NO MORE SURPRISES TO COME THROUGH ANY OF THEM.}” Nazar declares. But then warns,“{SIGNIFICANTLY POWERFUL ENTITY IS COMING.}”

https://youtu.be/ubAfYF9uS6g

You see something red moving through the shimmering distortions. It feels strong. Way stronger than you were really expecting. And while you can’t really detect the air outside, you do get this… odd, unnerving feeling. Yet bizarrely familiar.

Arashio even more bizarrely eases his stance. He then makes note of something you weren’t expecting in the slightest. “I AM DETECTING SOME FORM OF TUFFLE CREATION HEADED OUR WAY.”

Both you and dad look at one another. Oh. Oh no. Two large, red hands grab on to the edges of the portal as it starts to make its way through. Crap. Crap crap crap. “HATCHIYAK!”

You quickly bring up a barrier to defend everyone… and Hatchiyak looks towards you, stone-faced. Instead of attacking, a strange sort of… mist starts to seep from his bodyOH NO. “DESTRON GAS!” you call out in warning, but that proves to be enough of a distraction for the entity of hate, as he raises his hand places it on your barrier.

“...Izumi Mahogany.” Hatchiyak speaks, looking through the barrier and at you directly. He then lets out a tremendously powerful blast of energy that breaks the barrier while you’re distracted, dashing at you and grabbing your mech’s arm. “You shall come with me.”

Dad stabs the Masamune through Hatchiyak’s arm, forcing him to let go. “You’re staying the hell away from her, Hatchiyak.”

“Acer Mahogany.” Hatchiyak calmly remarks, pulling away and standing stone-faced once more. “You lacked the power to defeat me on your own previously. Do you think now will be different?”

“Damn right it will!” You yell, having your mech move forward and hit the hate machine with a Gravity Blow, keeping him back.

A soft grunt of pain comes from Nazar as you feel its power weaken. Damn it, the gas! And… Arashio stands still, seemingly weighing his options.

You decide not to prod the hornet’s nest as Arashio remains still and focus on Hatchiyak with dad. “I’ll hold ‘em down!” you declare, creating binds out of PTO armor materials and enchanting them with Shadow Magic, then flinging them towards Hatchiyak. With them and the Gravity Blow, you hold the hate machine in place. You then place your hands together and try out something new, your mech mimicking the movements. Energy flows through the crystal. Using Light Magic and Wind Magic, you fling your arms out and set up glowing shimmer around you. “STELLAR WINDS!” Thrusting both arms forward, the shimmer becomes a green, swirling gale that not only connects with Hatchiyak, it pushes away the Destron Gas he was letting out right back into the portal to Hell! Hah! Just like you did with the Bansho Fan! Quickly you shout to dad, “You’re up!”

Masamune in hand, dad gets ready to strike, raising it up and letting his Ki flow through it… but right before he’s able to slash down, Arashio hits the sword with his staff. “Wh- HEY!” Acer backs away, the Machine Mutant moving forward slowly, in front of Hatchiyak. “Oh COME ON!” dad blurts out in exasperation.

“THIS IS A TUFFLE MACHINE, CORRECT?” he asks.

“Well less a ‘machine’ and more ‘entity corrupted by hate that spreads destructive gas’ really.” You look over the pair of them. Might only get one chance with this. Focus on Hatchiyak.

“YOU SHOULD NOT FIGHT IT.” the Machine Mutant declares.

“Oh COME ON man, you really want to do this?!” Acer demands. “What, are you going to drag ‘em to Baby and hope the two work together?”

“THE GOALS OF THE MACHINE MUTANTS REMAIN THE SAME. WE UNDERSTAND THE NEED FOR A TEMPORARY ALLIANCE. BUT I WISH FOR YOU NOT TO FURTHER THIS BATTLE.” Arashio explains.

“You’re very specifically not denying that you want to have Baby take a look at him.” dad says with both determination in his voice and… a sense of dread.

>A. All right. We can’t start fighting among ourselves here, but we need to keep Hatchiyak bound and close to the portal. Deal?

You ease yourself just a bit. Calm. Moving your mech forward, you approach Arashio. The Machine Mutant keeps still. Here it goes. “All right. Listen. We can’t start fighting among ourselves here. But Hatchiyak? We have to keep him from causing any more trouble. At the very least, keep him bound and close to the portal.”

“AND WHY IS THAT?” Arashio inquires.

“He’s a machine that feeds on hate… and was previously able to pull souls out from the afterlife.” you note. That catches the attention of Nazar. “Which means he might be doing the same to the souls on this planet, the ones coming from the reactors included. Maybe that’ll help speed things along, but therein comes the greater risk. Especially with him able to let out Destron Gas. Do you understand?”

“YOU BELIEVE BATTLING THIS CREATION WILL SPEED ALONG THE PROCESS?” he questions.

Well, weren’t exactly saying that… “I mean it’d be risky-”

“{WE WILL NEED TO FOCUS MORE ON OUR EFFORTS IF THIS IS THE PATH YOU WISH TO TAKE.}” Nazar tells you.

“Look, Arashio, we don’t want to fight you here. But this is a matter we can’t take lightly.” Dad points his sword at the Machine Mutant. “I’m not going to back down if you keep this up.”

Arachio coldly stares at the pair of you… and steps aside. “I STILL HAVE MY PRIORITIES. BUT THIS WILL BE ON YOU.”

As Arashio backs away, Nazar raises its energy higher and attempts some kind of… telekinetic attack, while simultaneously drawing in more energy from the Hakkero. And… it turns out just what Hatchiyak wanted, as not only does the Revenger Cannon start charging faster, Hatchiyak uses the attempted attack to break free of his bindings! Damn it!

“REVENGER CANNON!”

You put all your energy into the Hero’s Barrier, enough that even if you don’t reflect this, you can take the hit. But… you time it perfectly! As the massive beam makes contact with your barrier, you let out a ferocious roar and push it right back at the hate machine! “HRRRAAAAAAAHHHH!”

And he was definitely not expecting that! The sheer force of the reflected attack is enough to knock Hatchiyak off his feet. “IZUMI!” Dad calls out. “KICK ‘EM IN AND I’LL SUPPORT YOU! MATCH THE OUTPUT OF MY KI!”

“GOT IT!” You leap from the ground and do as he asks, dashing forward for your mech to kick at Hatchiyak… and dad snaps his fingers, giving you a quick telepathic message to shout out with him… pft. Well. Okay! “HERE GOES!” The foot of your mech gets a bit more spice to it as it gains a blazing flame around it.

The burning, stomping kick sends Hatchiyak right back through the portal into Hell! You even see him bounce along the ground a couple times. The air shimmers and the portal gets blurry, but… Hatchiyak does start to get back up. Ah crap. You land and get in a defensive position, ready for him to try to come back through… but it never happens. The blurry figure of Hatchiyak just kinda… stands there for a moment. And then, as the portal starts to clear, you see him grasp his head in his hands, letting out a muffled yell of pain. Oh what now?! …You catch a very vague hint of something being said in the distance. What is…?

“Paparapapa!”

You blink. Your senses pick up that… there’s some kind of Magic in play. That was a spell. Finally, Hatchiyak stands completely. No longer looking like he’s going to continue the fight. But with an “M” on his forehead.

“PROBLEMATIC.” Arashio comments.

“Putting it mildly. But… he won’t be coming through the portal, right?” Acer asks.

“DOUBTFUL. WE DID GAIN USEFUL DATA ON THIS TUFFLE MACHINERY.” he responds.

You look towards him. “Er… we? I mean, I guess if you include Nazar-”

The comms in dad’s suit go wild. “Irico, what’s wrong? …Massive ship? What the heck do you mean? Well what’s it doing, what’s it look like?”

Nazar looks at the Machine Mutant with a glare. “{YOU MADE CONTACT WITH ANOTHER OF YOUR KIND.}”

Both you and dad take a step back defensively. But to your surprise… Arashio lets out a sigh. An actual sigh. Well, vocalizes one, in a very annoyed tone. Didn’t even know he could do that. “NOT ONE I WOULD HAVE PREFERRED TO CONTACT.”

“Oh don’t be like that you old bore.” a voice comes through several computer terminals. Synthetic and similar to Arashio’s but… bizarrely more lively. Cordial, even. “Shame I couldn’t have gotten here sooner. That Hatchiyak looked like quiet a thing to add to my… collection.”

You teleport right next to Cocoa. “Okay, I’m here, what’s all going on?”

She jumps slightly. “Gh! Eesh, bit of warning before you do that.”

“Sorry, sorry.” You hold your hands up apologetically. “Still, you okay? What’s all going on?”

Cocoa points her thumb at the window, and you poke your head out with her. And… there are definitely soldiers marching down the streets. Ones that look like they’re right out of a history book. But further away you see much more modern tanks. You sense Yamcha further along, seems like he’s still fighting them. Doesn’t feel like he’s in any real danger though. As you sense out, though, you feel a number of battles going on all over the planet… and a few Ki signatures you kinda recognize. Yet it’s who you don’t sense that’s kinda weird… and more than a little worrying. Vegeta, Tien, and Shao are missing, but Baozi and Chiaotzu you can still sense in Mifan. Launch is also nearby still, though not near Yamcha.

The door to Cocoa’s room opens. “Cocoa, I’ve boarded up the front, and- oh! Peppa, I didn’t see you come in.” her mother says in surprise.

“Hello Mrs. Amaguri.” You quickly pull your head back from the window and bow respectfully to her. “Heard what’s going on. Came here as soon as I could.”

“Well that’s a relief.” she sighs, then gives Cocoa a teasing look and sly smile. “So good to see you’ve got such a reliable girlfriend.”

Cocoa grumbles. “Moooom.”

You smile innocently and rub the back of your neck. “A-anyway. Is everything okay here?”

You peek your head out the window again, then pull it back in. “So I’m decently good with history, but those tanks don’t look like that Dumb Name Army’s. Seem older.” you speak aloud, but also telepathically with Bulma and mom. “And those soldiers there seem pretty ancient too.”

“Uhhh…” Cocoa thinks for a moment, then peeks out again. “Oh! I believe I actually learned about those cavalry guys were part of some samurai clan or something from the south. Think it was near Mount Kiwi.”

Mrs. Amaguri actually looks outside as well, though more cautiously. “Those tanks are probably from the Great War a couple hundred years ago. Milo still has a few models of those from when he was younger.” She gasps softly. “The insignia on that one is the Dictator’s!” You and Cocoa trade places as you see an “X” symbol on them.

Hmm, well, that’s something… ‘Bulma, did Scouters pick up any unusual artificial readings, as far as you’re aware?’ you ask telepathically, then ask Cocoa and her mom, “Any more specifics on these soldiers?”

‘Some were headed in the direction of the capital, and another was off going towards Jingle Village last I checked.’ she replies. You scan out too and find that… yeah there’s definitely some powerful artificial being moving to the Central City. But since you can’t sense it, it’s… probably not Baby. …Just gonna push that thought into the back of your mind now.

Cocoa rubs her head. “If I remember my history classes well enough I think they were some kind of honorable warriors but also pretty bloodthirsty before they were ultimately destroyed. Think their last leader was some guy named… uhh… oh! Kipposhi Outsuke!” She places her hands on her hips, proud she remembered that. “Heh, guess your smarts really are rubbing off on me, Peppa.”

“ONWARD, MEN!” a voice calls out from further down the street. A man in samurai armor that looks like a proper leader, and- …his face looks like Vegeta’s. That voice almost SOUNDED more like Vegeta’s. You quickly take a snapshot with your goggles. “DON’T LET THAT MIDGET’S MACHINES FOOL YOU, THEY ONES RIDING THEM ARE COWARDS, WITHOUT HONOR!” Zombie-like moans that almost sound like cheers echo through the cavalry.

“So they’re at the very least not on the same side…” you comment. The sound of tankfire though immediately puts you on edge, but feels like Yamcha’s headed in the direction of it. You check again towards Central City. Can… sense Videl’s dad there, thankfully, with some of his students. And, let’s see… ah! Keli and Teach! Well, still should head there and help them out. You feel another thing there too, but seems to vanish as quickly as you sense it. Ominous.

‘What’s the plan, Ghost Pepper? Over.’

“I’m headed to Central City, there’s something strong headed that way and I wanna make sure I’m there to help out.” You look out again… aaaaaand get a bit of an idea. First, you step back and bow to Cocoa’s mother. Then, you take Cocoa’s hand and kiss the back of it gently, in a very knightly manner. “I shall return when these foes are vanquished, that I promise to you.”

Your girlfriend giggle-snorts and pulls you in for a hug. “Dork.”

You give her a kiss on the cheek this time, and giggle with her. “Just stay safe, okay?”

“You too.”

Locking on to Chuu Lee’s Ki, you teleport away once more, arriving on a rooftop in Central City beside her and Keli. Your teacher looks to you and smiles. “Well, didn’t want to miss out on the party, Peppa?”

“You know it. What’s happening here?” you ask, cracking your knuckles.

“Red Ribbon Army.” Keli lets you know. “Mark’s group is handling the foot soldiers and zombies on the street level. We’re keeping watch for anything coming from above.”

Tapping your goggles, you pick up that artificial energy signature from before. It’s… some bulky blue guy with spiky red hair. Looks like Vegeta’s. Okay what’s with that?

>A. I’ll take ‘em down, keep an eye out for any others

“So missing Vegeta, but we got a guy who stole his hairdo, and earlier I just saw a guy in samurai armor with a face EXACTLY like Vegeta’s. That weird to anyone else?” you ask aloud.

“Just a bit.” Keli comments. “Last I sensed though they were headed in the direction of Yahhoy.”

You blink. “What were they doing up there?”

“I think they finally pestered Vegeta enough to have him meet with Yurin, and Tien probably came along just in case. Don’t think he trusts her all that much still.” she speculates.

Ah. That may make a bit more sense. But. Hrmn. “...A thought.” you verbalize nonchalantly. “What about King Furry? Someone should, uh, y’ know, make sure nobody’s after him too.”

“...Jan Ken for it?” Keli asks Chuu Lee.

“Jan Ken for it.” she agrees. “Rock.”

“Scissors.”

“Paper!” …And Keli wins with scissors.

“I’ll head off to check. Good luck you two!”

“Best of luck!” Looking back towards the approaching figure, you grin with excitement. “Okay then, let’s greet this uninvited guest! Time to kick this party into high-gear! Ready, Teach?”

“Ready. Let’s give ‘em a warm welcome!” The two of you fly up and head towards the big blue guy… and notice a series of swirling red Ki spheres headed your way.

https://youtu.be/LGYIeMrxRYQ

“S.S. DEADLY GATTLING!” the figure yells out as he continues to fire.

You and Chuu Lee both try to deflect the attacks upward, but as the barrage continues teach takes a defensive position and powers up to prevent some of them aimed a bit lower from reaching the buildings. You decide to bring out the Power Pole and spin it around to better deflect the attacks, getting in close and trying to smack him in the head! …And he catches the Power Pole.

“Alien scum! Prepare to be vanquished!” He then flings you away and… strikes a pose. Is he… is he taunting you? “The Earth will be protected from you disgusting aliens!”

“Protected?” You twirl the Power Pole in your hand. “Buddy, I am the CHAMPION of Earth, Son Peppa! And you? You’re just an invader from Hell that’s attacking this world.” Pointing the staff at him, you declare, “Time to put you back in the dirt! POWER POLE EXTEND!”

The staff thwacks forward, but the massive blue frame manages to block and avoid each hit, and finally catching it and grinning, pulling you forward and striking you in the gut. “Your lies have no weight, alien scum!” But right as he’s about to attempt another attack, a knee strikes him in the back of the head hard enough for him to cry out in pain. “GRAH!”

You break free and see Chuu Lee back away, a white aura condensed around her body, but flowing strongest around her legs. “It’s no lie. As a fellow Earthing and the Champion before her, I can say with certainty that Peppa is a million times more deserving a title than the likes of you, creation of Gero.

“RRAAAAAHHH!” He lunges forward and manages to strike Chuu Lee in the face, but your teacher simply glares at him and kicks him again, this time in the gut, and begins to pummel the android relentlessly.

“Peppa! Here!” She delivers a spinning kick that knocks him your way.

Your hair spikes as you grab the Power Pole with both hands, transforming as you ready a swing with it. “Here goes! Batter up!” You swing as hard as you can and send the Artificial Human flying into the air. “Haha, home run!”

“Let’s finish this!” Chuu Lee calls out to you. The two of you fly forward and ready one final attack.

“GRRAAAHH! YOU WON’T WIN, ENEMIES OF JUSTICE! I, NUMBER 13, WILL STOP YOU!” He forms a massive, swirling crimson energy sphere. “S. S. DEADLY BOMBER!”

Chuu Lee moves out of the way, but you see that his attack’s aimed at the city. No choice! You let out a ferocious yell and ram through the attack, taking some damage but not enough to force you back. “You don’t know the first thing about Justice! POWER POLE EXTEND!”

“FALCON… KIIIIIICK!”

Chuu Lee’s attack hits first and actually bisects the android, with your Power Pole then smacking the head hard enough that it comes off, crashing into the ground a few kilometers away, outside the city. The rest of the body explodes, leaving little behind but some scrap metal. Teach flies over to you and lifts her fist, and you tap yours against hers.

“Okay, job done here. Sensing anything else on the horizon?” you ask.

“Don’t think so, just some-” Chuu Lee looks back towards the King’s Tower. “Wait a second. What’s that?”

You turn to that direction and focus, and… you feel it too. It… kinda feels like… dad? Your eyes narrow. It’s weaker than he is normally. But… wait, you can also feel dad in Jingle Village, with uncle Raditz.

‘Heeeeey. Peppa?’ Keli contacts you telepathically. ‘Is your dad going through a goth phase?’

The sheer contradictory nature of the mental image causes you to let out a loud “Bweh?!” sound. “What do you mean? Why am I sensing dad near you?”

‘Because there’s someone in red and black here that looks a LOT like Goku!’

You and Keli look at one another, than both place your hands on your foreheads. ‘Momma Bird, this is Ghost Pepper. The situation just got more complicated. Will update as we get more info, over.’

‘Roger that, Ghost Pepper.’

And so you and Chuu Lee teleport to Keli… and find a VERY strange sight. Keli stands before King Furry and a couple of his guards, looking at someone outside the window. It’s dad, in a turtle school gi, but with a dark grey, almost black color with red underneath, hair blonde and spiked up like he’s a Super Saiyan, yet… his eyes are RED. His posture’s all wrong, it’s slouched and… looks kinda inhuman. Even his skin seems a bit off. It… reminds you of- OH CRAP!

https://youtu.be/-4FvqXfQYbk

The Fake Goku grins maliciously and raises his left hand, quickly charging and firing a Ki blast into the building. “Get down!” Keli calls out, covering King Furry and his guards. Chuu Lee is too surprised by his appearance to be ready for the attack and gets knocked back, but you’re ready enough to bring up your guard. A good chunk of the building is blown off from the blast.

You lower your arms slowly. “You’re not hurting any innocents while I’m here, impostor!” Man mom’s gonna find this weird. ‘Ghost Pepper here. We might have a clone of dad on the loose! Over!’

‘Clone? Like the one you found of Krillin, Ghost Pepper?’

‘Roger that, Momma Bird, be on the lookout! Over!’

The Fake Goku readies another attack, but Keli’s quick to create an energy lasso and grab his arm with it, flinging him away. “I’ll get the King to safety, you two take ‘em out!”

Chuu Lee pulls herself up as Keli takes the three people with her, King Furry calling out to you all, “Good luck, but try to bring it out of the city! There are civilians still here!”

“Got it, your majesty!” Teach replies. “Well Peppa, how we gonna do this?”

“I’ll grab him and teleport away, that’ll keep this place safe… or at least, safer. Watch out for others, Teach!” You let your aura flare up around you and charge forward, the Goku Clone finally breaking free of the lasso as you try to lock on to… a certain individual’s Ki signature. As he notices you, he quickly gets into a fighting stance and dashes at you, ducking under your initial grab attempt and elbowing you in the face. A wicked grin on his face, his hands pull back as he starts to quick-charge a Kamehameha. Oh no he doesn’t! You kick him in the gut and then grab his leg with your tail. Got ‘em!

“OUR NATION SHALL CONQUER THESE INFERIOR, WEAK-WILLED, CODDLED COWARDS, MEN! FORWARD!” a loud voice comes out from a small man riding a tank. Zombie soldiers engage in battle with the zombie samurai, tanks firing at them as the cavalry charges forward. Several more undead soldiers surround and chase civilians, as the small man laughs manically. “WE ARE YOUR NEW MASTERS! SUPERIOR, AND NOW, UNKILLABLE!”

All this you hear and see as you teleport above him, still with the clone Goku grappled with your leg. Was a bit hard to lock on to him but you could pick out a more sinister presence out of the various zombies. The small man finally notices that there’s a shadow above him, closing in. He looks up, and with your flowing, spiky blonde hair and your body contrasted against the light of the sun, he seems almost awed. Like he’s looking up at an angel descending from the heavens.

An angel who promptly smacks him out of the tank by throwing the Goku Clone at him, causing the both of them to skip across the ground like stones across water. You land on the tank and get ready to face dad’s clone, watching as he gets back up, readying a fighting stance once more. His focus is now completely locked onto you. Good. Meanwhile, the stunned zombie soldiers finally regain their senses and all take aim at you, giving the samurai a chance to regroup.

You launch towards the Goku Clone, easily deflecting away tank shells and bullets fired at you, letting the samurai manage a successful charge this time. With his focus on you, you’re able to get under his defenses and land a palm strike to his jaw, following it up by swerving around his attacks and countering every one. However, he starts to pick up on this and lets out a quick Explosive Wave that knocks you back, going on the offensive and forcing you to bring up your guard. The two of you trade punches and manage a cross-counter that hits each other in the jaw. Grh. “You almost fight as well as dad does… faker.” You grin and push back against his fist. “Too bad for you, I beat him.”

A quick Clothes Beam to the tail weighs it down and knocks him off-balance, with you sending him into the ground with a roundhouse kick, flipping away. And… right near the Dictator. He again looks up at you in awe. “Blonde hair, blue eyes, super strength, a-are… are you-?”

“Yoink!” You grab him by the ankle with your tail and yank him up as the Goku Clone gets back out of the crater you made in the concrete. “HEY LOOK! I’VE GOT YOUR LEADER!” you call out to the zombie soldiers, waving him around like some kind of flag. That gets their attention for sure.

“W-WHA-?! PUT ME DOWN! PUT ME DOWN FRAULEIN!” the Dictator calls out in a panic. You ignore his pleas as the tanks and soldiers charge at you, and this time you deflect away their weaponry right back at them, taking quite a bit of this zombie horde out of commission. Bolting forward, you then use the small man as a makeshift club and bonk the Goku Clone upside the head with ‘em, serving as a good distraction as you combo into it with a knee strike. You continue and set him off-guard with the Dictator before every hit. For a weak, dead guy, he’s surprisingly durable. You finish by knocking the Clone down with a dropkick and sending him into another crater. “Frau…lein… put… me down…” the tiny guy pleads in a dazed and pained voice.

“Okay.” You take aim and fling him at the Goku Clone right as it gets back up, clonking them head to head. The dictator falls to the ground unconscious as the Clone stumbles back. He might not be a complete match for your dad, but he’s certainly a tough one.

Okay, you’re set to take ‘em down! Might be better to try to take this Clone out of the city, and probably capture ‘em. Clothes Beam and telekinesis might be a good way to do this… aha! Idea! You take aim and ready yourself to materialize something. “Hey, Fakerot! Free t-shirt!” And so, you launch something from your T-Shirt Cannon! …Izzy would laugh at it.

But right as you fire, he manages to dodge, powering up further… and his hair spikes up further as electricity sparks around his aura. Oh. So he can do that. You try the Clothes Beam again, this time going for a weighted straight jacket, but he actually grabs hold of it and flings it right back to you. You’re knocked down, and he kicks you into the air. The Clone’s arm then clotheslines you and forces you into a building, dragging you across it the exterior. You bite down on his arm hard enough to draw a bit of blood, keeping him from knocking you into one of the bystanders in the building. But it’s not enough to stop him, and he grabs you by your ponytail with his free arm and flings you back down to the concrete.

Cupping his hands together, he starts to charge a significantly stronger Kamehameha, still with the same malicious grin across his face, yet still remaining silent. He… also seems to be trying to power up further. Crap, if he goes Super Saiyan 3...

You power up further into Super Saiyan 2, and break the limits of it as you draw out more strength. Lunging at the Goku Clone, you force him away from the buildings and have him aim upwards. He still fires out and you have to tank the hit. Even while blocking, the blast does a good deal of damage, and you have to force yourself to power through it as it explodes around you. As it fades though, you lower your arms again. Your sparking, golden aura flares around you again.

“My turn.”

You teleport to him with Instant Transmission and headbutt him, then grab the clone by the collar and fly up with ‘em, spinning in midair and tossing him towards the city limits. You then fly after and start to pummel the clone before he can tap into any more power. You finally get him out of the city and land a punch hard enough that it causes a shockwave when it hits, knocking dad’s clone hard into the dirt.

Got your chance! His strength wavers a bit, and gives you the opportunity to try this one more time! You use the Clothes Beam to create some restraints and ALSO enchant them Wind Magic. “Free T-Shirt, comin’ up!” A straightjacket wraps and binds the clone. He tries one more time to stand, but you rush down and hold your fist out. The clone gets but a moment to look down at it before you one-inch punch him in the gut, knocking the wind out of him. And with that, he FINALLY collapses.

‘Hey, Peppa, can you read me?’ Launch asks.

‘Loud and clear, Officer. Just had to fight a clone of my dad. Managed to get ‘em out of the city.’ You wipe the sweat from your brow, sighing out loudly. That took a quite bit out of you.

‘Good, we’re regrouping at Capsule Corp. and- …wait what? Clone?!’

‘Yeah, this guy was up in Central City, nearly got King Furry. Keli got ‘em outta there and I took him over here so he wouldn’t chase after.’ You look down at the unconscious clone. It’s uncanny and creepy how he looks so much like dad, but is just ever so slightly off.

‘Launch, before you go, there’s a whole bunch of zombie soldiers and even a tiny Dictator I knocked out earlier, should probably have someone deal with them.’ you let her know.

‘Oh yeah, that… ugh.’ she grumbles in an annoyed tone. ‘Was actually headed that way myself before I got ambushed by this big, dumb green alien. Was actually tougher than I expected, and could like, eat Ki, somehow. Didn’t help it from getting the snot punched out of its stupid face.’

‘Ki… eating aliens.’ You look back towards the city. Well, guess this confirms it’s not JUST things from Earth. You think? ‘Well, keep an eye out, just in case there are more of them out there.’

‘Yeah. I’ll try to get the mess you mentioned cleaned up before heading to Capsule Corp. See ya there kid.’

‘I’ll be on my way, gonna make sure someone looks this over.’ You glance down at the Goku Clone. Well, better take ‘em with. You first use telekinesis to lift him up, then sling him over your shoulder. With the adrenaline rush of the battle fading, you notice a couple more things about him. His skin’s paler than dad’s, and he has this bizarre smell to him. Something that reminds you of hospitals. There’s this sterile, almost chemical sent to it that makes ‘em seem all the more uncanny. Flying upward, you scan through the city to make sure there aren’t any other incidents you need to help out with immediately. Actually, while you’re at it… ‘Ghost Pepper to Momma Bird, Dad Clone apprehended. Checking to see if there are any further incidents you need me to take care of, over.’

‘Read you loud and clear, Ghost Pepper. Working with Acer and Baba to try and find where Vegeta, Tien, and Shao ended up. Getting the feeling there’s something wrong in the Afterlife, yet doesn’t directly feel like Towa’s doing, at the very least. Not… entirely sure how I feel about that idea, but at the very least there’s nothing you need to head towards right now, Ghost Pepper. Will keep you informed of any developments. Over and out.’

Okay, got that down. Next thing… ‘Hey, dad, uncle Raditz, you two doing okay up there?’

‘Peppa! Hi! We’re just about done here. You’ll never believe what happened!’ dad excitedly replies.

‘Oh I think she will.’ your uncle comments. ‘You were facing a clone of Kakarot earlier, weren’t you? Sensed something off over in Central City.’

‘Yep. Fought me a Fakerot. Actually managed to knock him out and capture him. Something like that happen up near Jingle Village?’

‘Yeah, it was crazy! There was this guy that looked just like Nappa, but we could sense Nappa over in Mifan. Raditz and I took ‘em down though.’

‘And in addition, there was a copy of Daikon headed towards Jingle Village. Almost got Eighter before my boy fought off his fake.’ Your uncle then pauses for a moment. ‘…Was surprised he had a whole speech set up for it, to be honest.’

You laugh. ‘Wait, really?’

‘Yeah, didn’t like that the clone wasn’t “saying his lines” too, so he tried this deeper, grumpier voice. Something about “You aren’t even good enough to be my fake!” and all that.’

…Why does that sound familiar. ‘Wait, why’re you telling me this?’

‘So you and Gohan have some “ammo” next time you see him.’ Raditz remarks in a way that you can tell comes with a teasing, wide grin.

You smile, but roll your eyes. ‘Riiiiight. Well, keep your eyes out for any more of them.’ Flying to Capsule Corp., you arrive apparently not long after Yamcha and 19 do.

“Guh, I heard it from Launch but seeing it up close is REALLY unsettling.” Yamcha comments, helping you carry it to one of the labs in the building. “It’s like some kind of evil zombie version of Goku…”

19 intently starts scanning it as even Bulma does a double-take upon seeing it in the lab. “Biology is consistent with that of Son Goku, though it seems to have grown in an unusually quick manner.”

“I’d say it’s closer to some cheap knockoff.” Bulma remarks. “…Wait, this is still alive?!” she exclaims, leaping behind Yamcha when she sees the clone breathing.

“Well yeah, I just knocked ‘em out.” you state. “Might know something.”

“Doubtful.” 19 walks around the clone, sizing ‘em up. “While it would be accurate to call this a clone, it would be more accurate to describe it as a type of biological robot, possibly lacking in true sapience and simply programmed to follow simple commands. I recall Dr. Gero using similar blueprints during the alpha stages of his Cell project, though nothing as complete as this.”

You hear someone heavy land outside, yet don’t sense anyone’s Ki. Whoever it is, they’re in a rush to get to you. Your goggles scan in that direction and notice… oh! “Number 16!” you call out as the door opens for him.

To everyone’s surprise, the first words out of his mouth are, “You must destroy that, immediately!”

“Wait what? Big guy, what’re you talking about?” Yamcha asks.

“That clone must be destroyed, immediately!” 16 repeats. “The longer it’s around, the more data she will obtain!”

“Hold it! Wait, wait wait wait!” You wave your arms to draw his attention. “Outside! Do it outside! Yamcha, help!”

16 keeps the attack ready, but doesn’t fire, allowing you time to get ‘em out of there. You and Yamcha both carry the clone out. “16, buddy, we really could use a full explanation.”

“After it’s taken care of!” he yells out.

You and Yamcha set down the clone… and you feel a twinge of guilt. Even with his uncanny appearance, you get a brief flash of memory from... a few years ago. You look up at 16. “Make it quick and painless, please.”

16 quickly grabs the clone by the ankle and flings him into the air, firing out a massive blast that quickly destroys the clone. There’s little more than dust left when it’s over. Still… feels a little grim. “Steel yourself, Son Peppa.” 16 tells you. “Those kinds of reactions are what she’s planning on.”

“And who is this ‘she,’ Number 16?” 19 asks as she joins all of you.

“Yeah you mentioned this twice now.” Yamcha adds in.

16 looks down solemnly. “These clones were developed and unleashed by the last remaining remnants of the Red Ribbon Army. Doctor Gero…” The android pauses for a moment. “And his wife.”

Yamcha stares at 16 blankly. “His what.”

“His wife.” 16 repeats. “…My mother.”

19 sympathetically places her hand on 16’s arm. “Is that why you have been avoiding us as of late?”

“Yes. I have been paying attention, but the revelation that Gero might have brought her back… gave me reason to consider my path forward.” He starts scanning around the area. “No others have been spotted so far. She’s most likely being deliberate in their activation and placement. The undead walking the streets are most likely not her doing, though she is taking advantage of the chaos they’re causing.”

“...So you met with her, then?” you ask.

“I did make contact with her, briefly. From that I know that she’s using these clones to gather personal information, combat data… and vulnerabilities.” He looks at you directly as he says that last one.

“Are you going to be looking for them, then?” you ask as you look up at the big guy. “I can help. We should work together on this.”

“I would like to come as well.” 19 comments. “Though I must ask, Peppa, are there any other places you should be looking into first?”

“Mom’s already told me that I’ll be among the first to know if something’s up.” You then snap your fingers. “Oh, right, gonna relay this to her too!”

As you let Momma Bird know, 16 initially seems like he’s going to refuse, but stops himself and looks to weigh his options. “…Given your teleportation abilities, it would be beneficial to have you around. Your other skills will be useful as well. I will not object to the both of you working with me to try and stop this. However, I will reiterate: you must steel yourself, Son Peppa. From what I have seen so far, she will not hesitate to play on your emotions and manipulate you. Cause you to hesitate. Be ready.”

You nod. “I understand. Though… if she’s made ones of Nappa and Baozi too, maybe there’s a reason she’s set these ones loose.” You cross your arms and think. “16, might she be responsible for Vegeta, Shao, and Tien disappearing?”

“Doubtful. Last I checked they were headed in the direction of Yahhoy.” he replies.

You tap your chin, tail waving behind you. “Okay, so that’s two people pointing in that direction so far…”

“Their disappearance is still concerning. It may be worth looking into, just in case this woman is using this to cause further incident.” 19 affirms.

“Oh, right! There was this blue guy with red hair that looked like Vegeta’s that Chuu Lee and I fought a bit ago.” you bring up. “Maybe we can get some info out of him?”

The two Artificial Humans look at one another, then towards you. “I believe you are referring to the upgraded form of Number 13. He was destroyed years ago.”

“But there is no guarantee that it is the same one.” 16 brings up. “She and Gero may have built another.”

“Still, worth looking into, no?”

“Hey, guys?” Yamcha speaks up. “One thing’s bugging me. You mentioned she’s collecting data, right 16? What’s this data FOR, exactly?”

He looks in the direction of where he threw the Goku Clone. “She was cryptic about that, but it sounded like she is attempting to ‘perfect’ these clones somehow. Create copies that are as capable as the real thing, but loyal to her and Gero.”

“So… the more we engage with them, the closer she’ll come to having these ‘Perfect Clones’?” he asks. 16 nods, and Yamcha rubs the side of his head. “Well that’s going to be a big problem.”

>A. All right, Number 13’s head should be somewhere outside Central City, let’s go there first

You crack your knuckles. “All right, Number 13’s head should still be out near Central City. Let’s head there first and try to recover it. We need all the intel we can get, right? So let’s do this and do this quick.” The two Artificial Humans place their hands on your shoulders as you lock on to Chuu Lee’s Ki signature and teleport away.

You find her knocking away a few zombies with a swirling uppercut boosted by Wind Magic, sending them into the sky and scattering them further away from any living Ki signatures. She turns to you and smiles. “Welcome back, Champ. And hey, 19, 16, good to see you’re still okay.”

“Little time to explain, mom’ll have the full story. Did you recover 13’s head after I knocked it off?” you ask quickly.

She shakes her head no. “Sorry, been busy with all of this. Haven’t seen any more clones at least. What’d you do with that last one?”

“It’s been eliminated. If you do encounter them, either finish them quickly or stay away from them as best you can.” 16 tells her, then looks over the area.

“Probably still where it landed.” You fly up into the air and head in that direction, 16 and 19 following you. It takes a bit of searching, but eventually you spot a small crater… and a head trying to roll away from it.

“GRH! THAT DAMN ALIEN MENACE! I’LL GET HER FOR THAT HUMILIATING-!”

“Hi.” You float upside down and look him in the eyes.

“YOUUUUU! I’LL NOT FORGIVE YOU FOR-!” 16 picks the head up. “GAH! PUT ME DOWN! PUT ME DOWN!”

16 looks over the head, a heavier frown forming on his face. “Materials are consistent with the older model of Number 13, but I am detecting two anomalies. One is an unusual residual energy signature.” He then looks off towards the city. “It is similar to the undead that have been roaming the Earth.”

“How can you tell?” you ask.

“It is similar to that of Baba’s Fighters.” 16 responds. “However… there was an infusion of new energy into his systems.”

“MY DESIRE FOR JUSTICE HAS MADE ME STRONGER THAN BEFORE! AND YOU TRAITORS WILL PAY FOR YOUR BETRAYAL!”

“What do you recall last before you arrived on Earth?” 19 questions.

He growls angrily and rants incoherently. You poke him with the Power Pole, then ask him directly, “Did you encounter Gero’s wife when you showed up on Earth?”

That surprises him, and finally gets him to quiet down. “And what exactly are you after, alien scum?”

16 turns the head to face him. “Where did she upgrade you?”

A... tellingly smug grin appears on his face. “That you assume there’s a ‘where’ shows you’re not even close to being on the right track. Heh, such a shame… but maybe she’ll be able to fix you. And then you will return to the path of JUSTICE!”

Well. That’s not comforting news in the slightest.

With 13’s head secured, you sense around the area. Doesn’t feel like there’s anything that needs your immediate attention, so that’s a relief. However, you’ve now got both new info to go off of but no real lead on where to go next. You pace around the area, thinking. So she’s sending out these clones and trying to gather intel to create “perfect” clones that are yet still loyal to her. She’s also been able to enhance 13 somehow, yet she apparently didn’t do it in any sort of main base. Hrmn…

“16, given this recent information….” 19 speaks up. “Might she have an artificial body like Dr. Gero?”

“She does, though calling it like Gero’s is not quite accurate. From what my scans detected, her body was more primarily organic. I would say she more resembled a combination of his work, like his Cell Sentai project.” He closes his eyes. “Further confirming this, just as Dr. Gero’s systems referred to himself as Number 20, my mother referred herself Number 21.”

>A. Should we instead try to draw her out, somehow? Make her come to us?
>B. What specifically does she look like? Kinda bug-ish and green, or more granny-like to match Gero?

“Could she be seeking out other Artificial Humans like she did with 13 here?” You poke the head with the Power Pole again. “I mean, there were others besides you two, right?”

“Numbers 11, 12, 14, 17, and 18 were all destroyed, and like Number 13, may have been brought back by this event.” 19 explains. “Number 11 is also known as Tyz, while Number 12 is also known as Sugil. 17 was the former Colonel Silver, while 18 was the former master thief Hasky.”

“That’s… quite a few she might be looking for.” You twirl the Power Pole with your tail. “So she might be looking for them, then. Gives us a lot of leads to try and follow on… hrmn. Might there be anything we could do to draw her out somehow? Y’ know, make her come to us?”

“She will not directly come to us…” 16 starts, then throws 13’s head high into the air.

“Wh-HEY!” you exclaim, about to chase after ‘em. 16 places his hand on your shoulder to stop you.

“She will not directly come to us unless it appears she might be able to capture you, somehow.” he finishes. “If you believe you can deceive her, that could be an option to us.”

“Well, Cocoa has given me some pointers on acting…” you mention. “With Vegeta, Shao, and Tien all missing, might she be using that to her advantage somehow? Heck, maybe she’ll know where they’ve gone.”

“While I do not believe she caused their disappearance, there is a chance she would know what happened to them.” 16 replies, finally catching the head of 13.

“YOU DAMN TRAITOR! TRY THAT AGAIN, I DARE YOU! YOU’LL REGRET IT!”

“We should get that to Bulma or something first.” you tell 16. “Hmm… gonna contact mom and share this info with her as well.” As you teleport back to Capsule Corp., you relay all this to Maple, and having her relay it to everyone else. Once the three of you get the head of 13 into Bulma’s lab, though, you get an idea. ‘Momma Bird… might we be able to have everyone work towards one point, sweeping through the Earth to mop up the undead and try to flush out Number 21? Over.’

‘You know… that might work, Ghost Pepper. I’ll talk with everyone to get a good location set up. However, we aren’t completely sure how all these zombies and dead fighters are showing up here, so some more might pop up as we’re doing this. Hmm… I think I’ve got an idea. While everyone else is patrolling the Earth, it might be best to have those of us who can teleport searching for 21 and any other threats that pop up. I can kinda help with that, but I’m still trying to find where Vegeta, Tien, and Shao went. That all clear to you, Ghost Pepper? Over.’

‘Copy that, Momma Bird. I can work with this. Over and out.’ Hooh. Okay. You explain this to 16 and 19, with the robot girl raising the question.

“Where do we start, then?”

“I can give three starting points.” 16 states. “Since you still expressed interest in locating the missing trio, Yahhoy is where they were last spotted. However, it may prove more valuable to look for any sign of more clones to search for 21 directly. Lastly, we could instead try to set up that trap you brought up, to lure her out. Which do you think would be best?”

“Let’s head to Yahhoy.” you recommend. “We’ve still got that mystery to solve. Ready?”

“Affirmative.” 19 replies with a nod.

“Let’s go.” 16 places his hand on your shoulder.

You sense out the clearest Ki signature you can find in Yahhoy and lock on to it, teleporting away. A definitely unusual Ki signature among the populace, but one that does feel slightly familiar. When you arrive, you immediately see why.

“Hello, I need to suck some blood, but please, please, can somebody remove this stake from my chest?” a Vampire asks of a fleeing crowd. “Nobody? Please, I promise it won’t be yours, haha!” He slowly moves forward, even in the day- …well it’s actually kinda cloudy over here now. Looks like rain in the distance.

You blink and look at the two Artificial Humans. “…Huh.”

19 scans around the area. “He is not alone. It would seem there are a greater number of undead in this city than the others.”

“Oooooominous.” You start to walk forward, which catches the Vampire’s attention.

“Please, little girl, can you remove stake from my heart here? Is very annoying. Is rare I can visit Earth, and would like to see my little Sibella! I hear she’s doing so well in her apprenticeship.” he asks as he slowly shambles towards you- wait, huh?

“Sibella? …That’s one of Baba’s trainees.” you think aloud.

19 yanks the stake out of the vampire’s chest while not even looking. “Peppa, focus.”

“I will, I will! Just lemme give him directions real quick. It’ll keep him out of our hair, and we might be able to get something out of him.” you respond. “Yeah so she’s down south, you’re way up in Yahhoy. Gonna want to head towards a desert area way past Giras Village, look for an oasis palace. Might be able to sense it out once you’re closer. Please don’t drink anyone’s blood while you’re on your way.” You quickly sketch out a map for the vampire and hand it to him. “Oh, also, you see any spiky-haired short guys with tails, three-eyed tall guys, or ladies in outfits like this?” You Clothes Beam up a set of doll clothes that look like Shao’s outfit.

“Hmmm…” The vampire looks closer. “Yes, yes, I saw three that fit that description.” he affirms. Aha! “Very briefly saw them flying towards that forest to the east the moment I woke up here. In any case, thank you, little girls!” He turns into a bat and promptly flies away.

“Welcome! And don’t forget to- hey!”

“That’s a lead, let’s go.” 19 tells you, tugging on your arm. You head up with them and sense around. There… feels like there’s something off about a few of the zombies in the area. They have this slightly familiar scent to them. Yet can’t quite pinpoint where you’ve felt it from. As you start to close in on the forest though, you notice it seems a bit thinner than before.

“We should try to look for the Ninja Stronghold, maybe they’ve ended up there.” You move closer to the ground. “Also this is odd to you guys too, right? The forest looking a bit thinner than usual?”

The pair scan over the environment. “There is a decrease of approximately 23% below its normal density.” 19 comments.

“However, there is no sign of them being cut down. I will see if there is a pattern to the distribution.”

“Okay, I’ve got a plan then.” You form a Ki drill. “You guys look above, I’ll check below.” And so, once you’ve lowered your Ki to hide, you start to dig underground in the direction you last recall the fortress being. Hmm... not sensing anyone, but that IS a kinda weird place. You hum to yourself as you dig, moving forward. Finally you seem to feel something, passing through an unusual level of dirt that’s a good deal denser than before. Might be compacted a bit from the fortress? Well, you dig right up and- “OW!” you exclaim as you bonk into something WAY more solid and bizarrely tough. “The hell is…?” It feels.. smooth, like a kind of soft glass.

You try to push against it. The heck IS this? You have your Ki drill spin faster and try to punch into it. It doesn’t immediately break, but you do feel like you’re moving something. Come on, just a bit more! There! Finally you push it out of the ground and pop out on… on… uh. This doesn’t look like Earth anymore. There are spiky structures that look like bare trees, and… kinda pincushion-ish structures. You look above and see what you pushed out of the ground.

A giant… jellybean.

In fact there are a few of them up ahead. Looking around you try to sense if there’s anyone nearby. This SHOULD be where the fortress was, if you recall correctly.

“Heh heh heh heh…”

You blink. The heck was that?”

“Hehehehehe…”

Immediately you get into a defensive stance. Laughter, but coming from where?

“Hahahahaha…”

“Hohohohohoho…”

“Muwehehehehe…”

It’s… all distinct voices, laughing for some reason.

You get your goggles ready as you start to sense around the area. Can… kinda feel some weak Ki signatures. Wait, you’re picking up a few things. Ugh, that laughter’s getting annoying. Tune it out, Peppa, tune it out. Hrmn… should try to contact mom. ‘Ghost Pepper to Momma Bird, come in Momma Bird.’ Huh. Still feels like you actually CAN contact her. ‘Found myself bamboozled onto a strange, alien landscape with no sign of intelligent life anywhere. Over.’

‘Can hear you loud and clear, Ghost Pepper.’ Maple responds. ‘Last I sensed you were near Yahhoy, what’s the situation there?’

‘Engaged stealth mode and tried to tunnel under the fortress. No fortress to be found.’ You move slowly, watching for any Ki signatures that might show up. ‘Scouting the area. Over.’

‘Roger that, Ghost Pepper. Keep me informed. Momma Bird out.’

The laughter starts to pick up as you reach one of the jagged, tree-like structures. Hrmn. There IS an energy signature that seems artificial a ways away. Just gotta-

“HEHAHAHAHAHAHA…”

“MEHEHEHEHEHEHE…”

“AHA! AHA! AHA! AHA! AHA!..”

Reeeeeally getting on your nerves. You look up and notice there are stormclouds that have gathered overhead, yet… there’s no rain comes down, in spite of how dark they look. They DO seem like the ones that were near Yahhoy. Finally you close in on the first artificial Ki signature you detected… and you’re not exactly happy to see it. There sits the body of Luud, still and seemingly in some kind of standby mode. Doesn’t feel like it’s been juiced up all that much either.

“RAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA…”

Great, more of this. Well it could be worse. It could be-

“Eeeeeeheeheeheeheehee…”

“Nyehehhehhehheh…”

Starting to- …wait what’s that sound? It’s almost like-

“Okay that’s it! How dare you!” you blurt out angrily. “Is it a laugh-off you want?! Huh?! Well the Peppa code prevents me from backing down from such a challenge! So here, let ME give it a shot!” you… rant at whoever is really doing this. You raise your left hand to the side of your face and do your absolute best to mimic a certain laugh Cocoa’s practiced with you before, and something you’ve heard even Izzy do...

https://youtu.be/7aq3W9Ctng0

It echoes through the area, and finally the laughter dies down. You cross your arms and smile smugly. There. You won! Now whoever made this challenge is going to come out and reveal itself! …There’s polite golf clapping in the distance. Oh think this is funny, do ya?! Well just wait until they-!

“Son Peppa. What are you doing?” 19’s voice asks from behind you in a monotone that’s even more monotone than her norm.

“Her best, clearly.” 16 remarks in a monotone that is a good degree more mocking.

“Shut up. We don’t speak a word of this.” you demand of them, not even turning around. “So I AM still on Earth, at least.”

“Yes, you are.” 19 confirms. “Though this area is not at in any data I have of the planet.”

“Yeeesss…” a new voice, but one you are definitely familiar with, makes note of. “In fact, you might even call it… Hell on Earth.”

Your aura flares up around you. “Majin Ozotto.”

The bulky form of the Super Monster steps out of the shadows. “I am impressed, though. I’ve been trying to get into that mind of yours ever since you crossed into this domain. You’re quite a bit more resilient than I remember.”

“Are you working with Number 21?” 16 asks immediately.

“Perhaps I am. I’ve met so many new friends today.” He looks to the deactivated Luud. “Some very, very interesting friends.”

Ah crap, now what?!

“Hold on, hold on, hold on.” you speak up, waving your arms to catch Pikkon’s attention, then pointing down at the encased Check-In Station. “One of us need to focus on this. That Janemba thing might be trouble, but who knows might be after King Yemma while they’re vulnerable like this. Soooo… Pikkon, buddy, you up for the task?” His eyes narrow. “Great! “Gohan.”

“Best of luuuuuck!” You wave and start to fly away.

“Gohan don’t you-!”

“WELL WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!” King Yemma demands from the encased Check-In Station. “HURRY IT UP, PIKKON!”

“Grrhh… I’ll get back at you for this, kid!”

“Be very careful! If you lose the duel you lose your soul!” you call back.

“WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN?!”

“Its abilities aren’t like ours, who knows what it can do!” You grin cheekily and appear in front of this… Janemba. Okay, how’d mom and uncle Acer say this goes…? Ah right! “Ahem. Bah-weep-Graaaaagnah wheep ni ni bong!”

The smiling demon tilts its head at you. “Janemba, Janemba?”

Aha! It seems he understands! “Haha, okay buddy, now listen up. You’re kinda messing with the naaaatural oooorder here.” You wave your hands for emphasis. “So you might wanna put things back where they were.”

“Janemba, Janemba!” it claps its massive hands together, then brings them apart. “Janembaaaaa!”

“...You, uh, wanna play or something first?” Oh no are you understanding this thing?

“Janembaaaa!” It stands up joyfully… and bellyflops towards you oh crap! …Wait, idea!

You fly away with it. “Okay pal, here, you gotta try and catch me!” You fly downward towards where… well, where you think Hell is supposed to be, and Janemba follows you. Swerving around the floating jellybeans, the yellow demon just kinda… flops down onto them and starts collecting them as it falls. Eventually you reach Hell, Janemba floating down with the jellybeans and landing like a kid in a ball pit. Though… as you look around, you see that Hell has had quite a makeover. You even see what you think is the bloody pond in the distance, turned into some kind of cone of liquid.

It sits up, joyfully clapping again. “JANEMBAAAA!”

“Heh, so, you gonna help fix this and-?”

“Ja! Nem! Ba!” It claps its hands together then stands, smiling and looking in another direction. And… it pushes its hand forward, somehow opening up a portal! It appears behind you and tries to grab hold of you.

“Woah! Hey hey hey hey!” You swerve around and avoid it, the hand pulling back away. “That’s a little rough for tag.”

“Jamembaaaa!” And it starts to bounce excitedly.

You float in closer, Janemba still keeping up its playful laughs. “So heeeey, still want playtime, or think we can move on to you cleaning up the little mess you made? Whatcha say Janemba, buddy?”

https://youtu.be/0I12hvSsz2E

Keeping the same joyful expression, Janemba points its finger at its face, seemingly trying to motion that it’s thinking. “Jaaaaaa…. nemba. Janemba!” It then gets up and starts to run around, seeing some strangely humanoid rocky outcroppings from the ground and patting at them. “WOOOOO!” it exclaims, and… suddenly turns them into copies of itself, about the size of an average Earthling. They all run around with the big guy.

You sigh. For some kind of evil demon, it certainly isn’t very malicious. Just… childish. Almost reminds you of a certain happy little pink guy… minus the power absorbing, that is. …Really hope that doesn’t give it ideas. “Guess it’s still playtime in that big head of yours. Okay, maybe…” You look around, trying to see if you can keep their attention and lead them somewhere. Should definitely keep ‘em away from more of those humanoid rocks. “Heeeeey! Janemba!” you call out. “Come on big guy, you didn’t catch me yet!”

“Janembaaaa!” The monster chases you, and allows you a chance to really sense out its Ki. Even with how it’s acting, you can feel a lot of malicious energy bottled up inside it. Yet… deep down there seems to be a “core” to it that feels a good deal closer to one of the ogres in King Yemma’s employ. Hrmn. Does feel like the malicious Ki is the cause of all this.

Focusing your mind, you try to contact someone so you can get to the bottom of this. ‘King Yemma, can you hear me?’

‘Gohan! What in the heavens are you doing down there?!’

‘Making sure that this guy’s under control. I’ve got some idea on how he’s doing all this, and he isn’t actively trying to hurt anything.’ A couple of the smaller ones manage to close in, jumping at you, but missing as you dodge away. ‘But I’m trying to figure out what exactly I can do about this. Right now it just feels like I’m stalling it. You got some advice here?’

‘The accumulated negative energy from thousands of years are all condensed around one of our workers. It’s concentrated evil, Gohan! The longer it stays like this, the more dangerous this will all get as there is no barrier between the living and the dead, and the various dimensions of the universe will blend together irrecoverably!’ King Yemma explains in increasing panicked tone. ‘You have to do something to stop it!’

‘I get it, I get it.’ You avoid a trio of them this time, the big guy closing in again. ‘Hmm… maybe I can try something. King Yemma, think I might be able to contact someone from Yardrat from here?’

‘Well… maybe. Check with North Kai.’

You do just that, and King Kai patches you through to Soba… and another Yardratian, just to make sure. ‘So that is the cause of this dimensional disturbance.’ Soba’s voice communicates with you. ‘Master Pybara, what do you say would be the best course of action?’

‘Hmmm… removing all that built up negative spirit energy would prove very time-consuming.’ another voice comments. ‘You were taught a form of exorcism by the Supreme Kai himself, am I correct?’

‘Yes sir. It proved vital to our battle against Baby. Soba learned how to do it pretty easily, actually.’ You look back and see that Janemba’s using more portals again, this time grabbing some of the jellybeans out of the sky and flinging them at you. Yeesh. It’s really getting rowdy. ‘Was hoping that he might be able to come here to help.’

‘Forced Spirit Fission is an ability our people have learned to master, yes. From what I heard, the Supreme Kai’s technique operates on a similar principle. However, I believe there may be a more effective solution to this.’ Pybara states confidently. ‘Rather than removing the negative energy from this creature, perhaps you can remove the host from it.’

You snap your fingers. “Of course!”

>A. All right Janemba! Gonna need you to stand still for a bit
>B. Better get some help with this. Soba, are you able to teleport here? Should check with Supreme Kai too

“Heeeey, Janemba, buddy!” you call out to the big guy. “So pal, bud, good friend, liiiisten.” You start to slow down, dodging away from another few of the mini ones. “I got a new game to play! But you gotta stand very, very still for it.”

Its happy skipping along the ground slows. “Janemba?”

“Yeah, you just gotta stand still and-”

https://youtu.be/X4CUkPVkKw8

It shakes its head. “Jaaaanemba.” It kneels slightly as the large holes on its body start to glow. Like they’re building up energy fo- ah crapbaskets. “JANEMBAAAAA!”

Blasts fire off indiscriminately as the monster laughs joyfully, and you even get hit by a few. Owww. You power up and deflect the others. Well… Janemba IS standing still. You reach out and feel the Ki in there again, and actually successfully feel out the ogre that’s in there. Perfect! And now it’s just a matter of yanking ‘em out of the condensed negative energy.

Holding your hands out and start to try and move the negative energy away from it… and Janemba’s smile changes to a frown. “Ja… nemba?” It looks down at its body, then pulling its arms back and raising them suddenly. “JANEMBAAAA!” It at first feels like some kind of Explosive Wave, but as you feel your body knocked back, you get a strange stretching, pulling, and squishing sensation as the environment changes around you. When you finally are able to stop yourself, you see that you’ve been thrown… VERY far away from where you were. Janemba’s Ki is distant, and feels like it’s moving aimlessly.

Though it also feels like it isn’t alone now. There’s something else nearby, someone… oh no. “Babidi!” you exclaim out loud. Crap, what other surprises are waiting for you?

“Gohan?!” a familiar voice calls to you from nearby. You immediately turn to its direction.

“Grandpa Bardock!” you fly in closer to him. “You- …you have bodies again.” you note, seeing the Saiyan without any ghostly traits.

“I was able to forsee a good chunk of this but I wasn’t able to stop any of it in time.” Bardock begins to explain. “Tried to get some of the ogres to the purification machine. Rgh, if only I were a bit quicker…”

“Well, things just went from bad to worse. Babidi’s near the thing that’s causing all this, Janemba.” you state. “Where’s everyone else? Your squad, grandma Gine, King Vegeta?”

“Absolutely! But we can’t delay, so let’s go! Try and keep up!” you tell him, flying off as he tries to follow. You also attempt to contact Supreme Kai, though it feels more difficult than it should be.

“So I’ll keep that small fry occupied, you handle the big guy. Clear enough plan.” Bardock comments.

“Yes, but we need to be extra careful. You’re aware of how Babidi’s magic works, right? Because we can’t have him taking over you, too.” You lift up your headband. “No ‘M’ symbols on your forehead.”

Bardock does the same, showing he’s fine too. “Yeah, I’ve been paying attention, kid.”

As you travel though, you notice that the distance between you and Janemba isn’t closing as quickly as you thought it should. Both it and Babidi are moving away, but it’s like you’re on a treadmill. Finally you’re able to get through to Supreme Kai. ‘So uh, just wondering. Is Babidi still capable of sending energy to Majin Buu’s egg somehow? Because the talking prune has a body again and he’s gotten to the thing responsible for this, Janemba.’

‘It seems he already is planning something like this.’ he responds. ‘We have felt energy creep towards Majin Buu, but Tapion and Minotia’s training has proven vital in keeping Buu sealed.’

‘Okay, whew. Thanks, Supreme Kai. Have any ideas on how to get this done? I have someone who can keep Babidi distracted, and something to do about the host that the negative energy is possessing, but is there anything else I might try to do?’

‘You need to do something to keep Babidi from moving this Janemba out of reach.’

You grit your teeth. That’s gonna be hard, especially if Janemba can manipulate Hell like this already. ‘I’ll do what I can. Give any developments as they come by.’ Need to speed up. “I’m heading on ahead! Contact me when you’re close!”

“Fine, but give me an opening to go after the little guy!” Bardock calls back.

You bolt towards Janemba and Babidi, closing in on them at last. You finally get into visual range, seeing that Babidi’s actually on the shoulder of the big guy as he runs in the direction opposite of you, still laughing. Almost there! Come on, come on…!

You sense for Babidi and Janemba again, bursting towards them. Yet Hatchiyak follows, even with you using the Raioken. Grh, can’t shake ‘em! But you can kinda keep him from hitting you, at the very least. You continue to avoid his attacks keenly sensing Hatchiyak’s energy. When the opportunity presents itself, you get as far away as you can and try to use Exorcism on the hate machine, to separate some of the gathered energy from ‘em.

…Yet the technique fails to really work. Even as you try to separate some energy, it just kinda fills right back up from the negative energy permeating through this warped version of Hell, and with him being a moving target actively attacking you, you can’t remove enough without having to dodge and swerve around his attacks. Damn it, damn it! You also start to lose track of Janemba and Babidi.

‘Having some trouble there, Gohan?’ Ugh. But Babidi still has you in his sights, it seems.

‘Nah, just trying to find a way to end this in as flashy a manner as possible to make sure you learn your lesson. Your tricks are trash and this is just a minor setback.’ you retort. ‘I’ll get this done with soon enough.’

‘Oh? So it’s not enough of a challenge for you? Well… if you insist! Hahahahaha!’

Hatchiyak grunts in pain for a moment, a flash of power pulses through the Majin Mark on his forehead. He then yells out as his body changes… into THAT form yet again. “SON… GOHAN… RRAAAAAAGGHH!” A barrage of energy blasts fire off his body. You dodge away from them, but… agh!

In the distance you ALSO sense some other strong Ki signatures flaring up in battle, ones that feel kinda familiar, as Bardock is able to close in on Babidi, heading where he thinks they’re going. Ngh… but Babidi can probably sense him too. Damn it, this is getting annoying! Hatchiyak closes in on you.

‘...Damn it. Gohan?’

“Now whaaaat?” you groan.

‘I got a vision on what Babidi’s looking for. Some kind of demon like Janemba that was sealed away. I don’t think I can reach it in time.’ Bardock tells you.

You sense in Bardock’s direction and try to see if you can focus on the Ki signatures there. Hmm… does feel like they’ve stopped somewhere. ‘Supreme Kai, can you hear me?’ you ask once more as you avoid Hatchiyak’s attacks. ‘Bardock’s closed in on Babidi, but I need to handle Hatchiyak first. Where are Pantea and Videl? Can you get them there quickly?’

‘I can try. What are you doing?’

‘I’m going to stop Hatchiyak, if I don’t it’ll keep trying to attack me, or worse, go after someone else and end up giving energy to Buu.’ Okay. Focus. Focus. Hatchiyak attacks you again, but you power up to full and keep evading his attacks. He’s still taking in negative energy from the surrounding area… wait, you’ve got an idea! Flying at full speed away from Hatchiyak, you head upward to the jellybean “clouds” and watch out for his attacks as you lead him higher and higher, closer to where the normal clouds should be. Beams cascade across his body, crashing into some of them as he closes in on you. He opens his arms to grapple you… and right before he does you flip over him.

You then pull out the negative energy powering him, throwing it upward, out of Hell. Hatchiyak turns back to you and tries to stop you, but the pain stops him as he yells out. “GRRRAAAAAHHHH!” The colors of the gems in his body start to fade, and he tries to power up to restore the leaking negative energy, but he just can’t do it fast enough. After a few painful moments, he finally floats in midair, still and drained. You exhale loudly. Took a LOT out of you, forcing that much accumulated negative energy from the hate machine. Hatchiyak’s body flops against one of the jellybeans, still. Yet… you can still feel he’s “alive” somehow.

Still, you’ve got that done with. You can leave ‘em there for now. Heading back down, you sense Videl and Pantea arrive with the Supreme Kai… but not in time to stop him from freeing another presence like Janemba’s. Damn it! Huh… there’s someone else there too. Significantly less powerful, but feels like- aha! Grandma Gine is there too! …And there’s something off about her. Ugh, now whaaaat?!

“Vegeta… your blood will stain the dirt!” Broly declares as he powers up as well… and you notice that his aura’s sparking wildly, his power a good deal higher than you remember it being. Meanwhile, the ground underneath Vegeta cracks and trembles as his Ki skyrockets, tail slashing downward and blonde hair going black again as he begins to tap into the power he used in the last fight against Baby.

“I gave you a chance to back down, Broly, but you’ve left me with no choice! Behold! This is the power of a Primal Super Saiyan!” His hair black, arms covered in red fur, and shirt exploding off of him, Broly actually takes a step back in surprise at this tremendous power. As Vegeta finishes transforming, with Hell itself trembling from the power he unleashes… you hear something in your mind.

‘Well, you managed to take that thing out after all… and yet you run into that thing once more! Hahahaha! And that Vegeta fellow has so much energy to steal away.’

‘Laugh it up, Babidi, you’re going to fail.’ you reply angrily.

‘This cavalry of yours IS rather annoying, but Janemba’s new friend looks to be even better at ordering this overgrown lump around. Oh, and don’t worry about that other monkey you sent my way… heh heh heh… he’s quite occupied right now.’

…That overgrown raisin is really getting on your nerves.

>A. Vegeta! Babidi’s going to try and take control of him! You can’t let Babidi get any of your energy!

“Vegeta!” you call out. “Babidi’s going to try to take control of him! You can’t let him get your energy!”

The Saiyan prince looks up at you in confusion. “…Gohan?! The Hell are you doing here? Aren’t you dead?”

Broly looks up at you as well, smirking menacingly. “You… hahaha, Kakarot’s boy! I’LL SEND YOU TO HELL!”

“We’re already IN Hell.” you retort. “Vegeta, the dimensions have warped!”

“Tch, so that’s what that was… HEY, BROLY! WE’RE NOT DONE YET!” He charges at the Legendary Super Saiyan and manages to land a powerful right hook to Broly’s jaw, knocking him away momentarily.

Broly stops himself after skipping across the ground a couple times, growling lowly. “THEN YOU’LL BOTH STAY HERE!”

Ngh… if you try and interrupt you’re just going to get in their way. Gonna have to leave them to this and hope Vegeta’s able to keep this under control. “Yeah yeah whatever.” you wave your hand dismissively at Broly. “I know you’ve got this, Vegeta, but be wary. Broly’s power shouldn’t have been this high after being stuck in that jar for so long. Something’s up.”

“I noticed it too when that woman brought the jar to us.” Vegeta responds. “Tch, then something set him free.”

“...So, you mean Yurin, yeah? You usually call my mom ‘Tuffle’ or something like that.”

“Hmnh. Your mother doesn’t have nearly as boneheaded ideas as her.” He takes his stance. “From the sound of things you know what caused this, yes?”

“Kinda yeah. Babidi has that too. Gonna head that way. The moment you see an ‘M’ symbol on his forehead, you need to be extra careful. So kick his ass and do it quick!”

“No need to tell me twice!”

https://youtu.be/ExjwbhZZwGI

As Vegeta rushes at Broly again, you head off and try to get to Janemba again. You also contact Bardock, asking, ‘Sensing Grandma Gine over there, what happened to her? Did Babidi take control?’

‘Rgh! Worse! Baby’s possessed her somehow! And that bastard is hiding somewhere, got a vision for it!’

Damn it! ‘Hold tight, I’m almost there!’

‘I’m headed your way!’ You fly off at full speed towards him, but also think to contact Pantea and Videl. ‘Holding up okay there? This whole situation keeps getting more and more complicated.’

‘No need to tell me that twice!’ Videl responds. ‘This big guy’s REALLY pissing me off!’

‘And this other demon isn’t helping matters all that much.’ Pantea adds in.

‘Play it safe. Babidi’s got something up his sleeves.’ As you rapidly close in, you see the massive form of Janemba first. But that’s not your target. You keep focus on Bardock and eventually reach him and Gine, finding him defending himself against her.

“How many Tuffles did you slaughter under King Vegeta’s command?” Baby asks with Gine’s voice. “How many did SHE slaughter? How does it feel knowing you’re responsible for ALL of this?!”

“You think I don’t know that?!” Bardock yells back. “I’ve come to terms with it! You STILL haven’t been able to move past it! You did nothing more than become just as bad as the Saiyans you hate so much were!”

“Oh I haven’t even come CLOSE!” Baby forces Gine to fire a Ki blast at Bardock, one he manages to deflect away. “But maybe you’ll prove an adequate vessel to show me just how vicious the Saiyans were!”

“He’s trying to enter through any wounds he makes!” you call out to Bardock. “Get back!”

“And there you are…” Baby comments, voice more clearly his own. “GOHAN! YOU WILL BE MINE AT LAST!”

A spike of metal erupts from the ground, but you manage to avoid it, blasting it away. It sinks back into the ground, then starts to tunnel through it. Oh that sneaky little…! “YOU COPYCAT! JEALOUS OF HOW PEPPA BEAT YOU BEFORE?!” Ngh… Bardock can’t get too close. Need to do this. “Hold on, Grandma Gine!”

You manage to close in on her and start to exorcise Baby from her body… but both you and Bardock are forced back as another spike erupts from the ground. Damn it! You need SOMETHING to keep Baby occupied!

In the distance, you see Videl at the very least managing to knock Janemba around… egh, poor guy. If only you were a bit quicker exorcising it. Pantea tries to support her while also holding off a much smaller demon… something that looks like it was made out of a boombox and turntables, to be honest. “Oh come on, doll~! The music’s just gettin’ started~!” the demon boombox lady exclaims. “Hey hey, big guy, these girls are throwing off our groove, wanna turn up the heat?~”

“JANEMBAAA!” the yellow demon exclaims, firing off a barrage of Ki blasts from its body in sync with the boombox demon. The girls manage to deflect the attacks, and looks like Pantea’s got a plan as she backs away.

They’re doing fine so far, but the longer this keeps up…

Come on, think, Gohan. There’s gotta be some way to stop Baby… wait. Wait! Maybe there is! “Grandpa Bardock, get back!” you call out. ‘And close your eyes!’ you add telepathically.

“Make it quick!”

“Oh? Offering to make yourself a bigger target? Well Gohan, time for you to-!” and right as a spike juts from the ground again, Gine launching at you, you see your opportunity.

Light Magic built up around your hands, you bring them to your face and yell out. “SOLAR FLARE!”

“GAH!” The spike shrinks back as Gine is blinded by the attack. “YOU LITTLE…!”

Here it goes! You send out a jolt of electricity to stun Gine, but not enough to hurt her, and locate Baby. Then, with a mighty pull, you yank it right from her body, freeing her from Baby’s control. “Grandpa, now!”

Bardock quickly grabs her as she falls, and the electrified pulse you sent through her passed on to the nanomachines too. You quickly destroy them, then fire down at the ground where you saw the spike emerge from. “No more, Baby. Never again.”

Bardock sets Gine down gently as she begins to regain consciousness. A soft smile appears on her face as she lets out a weak laugh. “J-just like old times, huh?”

“Well guess I’m busting my ass saving yours even in the afterlife.” he comments. “Can you fly?”

“Y-yeah… I think so…” She stands, looking around. You fire at the ground again, forcing Baby away from the pair. Now he’s genuinely fleeing.

“Good. Get out of here. We’ll handle the rest.” Bardock looks a ways away from the area. “That Babidi creep is still out there.”

“Yeah. But we might have this under control at least.” You hope.

Back with the battle you see Videl gain the upper hand against Janemba, Pantea managing some discord with the boombox demon and forcing her away. They end up moving closer to you and Bardock as they fight. You can sense Babidi in the direction Bardock was looking… and he senses the two of you very, very clearly.

‘You think you’ve won, Gohan? Hah! I’ve not even pulled out my best trick… PAPARAPAPA!’

“NGH… GK… JA… JA… NEM… BA…” The giant yellow demon holds its head in its hands.

“OH NO YOU DON’T!” Videl declares, her white aura surging around her. “I’m taking this down for good!” She flies up into the air and charges a massive amount of Ki into her fist, flames building up around it.

>A. Videl, wait! This might be the only chance I have to exorcise it!

“Videl, wait! This might be our only chance!” You hold your hands out, remembering what you were feeling before. Focus. Focuuuussss… GOT IT! You manage to find the ogre from before, and as you feel Babidi’s magic permeating through the negative energy around him, you let out a pulse of Light Magic to try and keep it away. “GOT ‘EM!”

With one more pull, you free the ogre from Janemba, managing to bring him down beside you and Bardock. What’s left of Janemba starts to convulse. While you did manage to free the ogre… seems the residual negative energy isn’t disappearing yet. Why? It doesn’t have a host anymore! “Waited long enough, Gohan! I’m gonna finish this!”

“Videl, don’t! You might end up becoming the new host for it!” you call out to her, causing her to stop.

“What an EXCELLENT idea!”

https://youtu.be/dLU6ocm8ync

Your eyes widen. No, NO! A metal spike shoots through the ground and into the convulsing body of Janemba. Damn it! You fire a barrage of Ki blasts at it, Pantea turning around and trying to do the same but leaving her open to the boombox demon, which grabs her and lets out painful screeching sounds from her body, causing Pantea to yell out in pain. That distracts you and Videl long enough for Baby to finally take hold of the body… and reshape it into his own.

“Heh heh heh heh… HEHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!” Baby’s voice, distorted and twisted, booms through the area. “This… this power is unreal! It’s like I have the strings of creation itself at my fingertips!” He looks at you and grins. “Oh thank you, THANK YOU Gohan! You provided me with this new, fantastic body!” He snaps his fingers, and the jellybeans above you all start to swirl chaotically… and starting to sharpen into large, sharp darts. “Now, which of you still wants to-?”

As if waiting for him to ask, Videl bolts down at full strength, her energy charged around her fist, rushing this new Baby-Janemba like a bird of prey. “FALCON… PUUUUUNCH!”

Videl’s fist connects with his jaw, sending him skipping across the landscape. And as she’s done that, Bardock’s managed to get in closer to Babidi. He tries to punch at the evil raisin, fist crashing against a barrier, but still giving Babidi a good surprise.

Gine heads over to the ogre that you freed. “I’ll take him away from here, just in case that stuff tries to come back to him when you’ve beaten Baby.”

“Got it. Be safe, Grandma Gine.” Okay. Now what?

Looking to Pantea, you power up to full strength and blast forward to the boombox demon. Pantea starts to power through it, but the monster ups the power of her sonic attack. “Aww come on doll, these tunes are the perfect ones to dance to~! So let’s see ya move that body, girl~!”

“Here’s a move I think she’ll appreciate!” you call out, powering through the powerful waves of energy coming off the demon’s body and grabbing her by the head. The surprise is enough to get her to loosen her grip, allowing Pantea to finally break free and elbow the demon in the chest. “BURNING CRUSHER!” you yell out, sending the demon flying into one of the altered jellybeans, and then falling to the ground, leaving a noticeable crater.

“Thanks Gohan.” Pantea says with a sweet smile.

“Eh, no big. Not that I didn’t think you couldn’t handle her, but we can’t afford to let Babidi get away with any more of this. He’s the main threat.” You take your stance as you hear the demon start to get up. “Damn, she’s tough.”

“You… you stupid boy!” She yells out. “You messed up my hair! You interrupted my song! You threw off my groove!” A strong rhythm booms from her body. “Oh I’m gonna make the both of you dance until your legs fall off!” She forms discs of energy above her palms.

Ngh… ‘Hey, Vegeta, you done giving Broly the asskicking he deserves?’ you ask telepathically.

‘Knocked him on his ass a few times now, but he doesn’t want to stay down. Something keeps empowering him… and I think he’s still trying to transform further. But I’ve got something that’ll put him in the dirt for sure!’

You and Pantea avoid the knockoff Destructo Discs as you both move in closer. ‘Okay, good, when you’re done you up for giving Baby another thrashing? Or maybe helping us with Babidi and Baby? I’m sure you’d love to give that guy a proper asskicking.’

‘You know, kid? You’re speaking my kind of language.’ Vegeta… genuinely compliments.

‘All right, just be aware, even if you kill him he might just end up somewhere else in Hell. Dimensions are all warped and stuff.’ You and Pantea land a solid combined blow to the demon’s gut, sending her flying and crashing through a spiky pincushion. Yet still, she gets back up. “Damn she’s tough.”

“But I think that was enough to keep her staggered for a bit. Focus on Babidi, yeah?”

“Focus on Babidi!” The two of you take to the air and start to fly off, but you don’t feel the demon follow you. That’s… strange. You look back and see there’s some winged green creature beside her. Seems it’s got a bone to pick with her? Well, that keeps her off your butt, and now you can focus on Babidi!

…Or so you thought. You instead end up having to avoid a barrage of razor sharp glass-like shards of… something fired off from Baby-Janemba. Bardock at the very least manages to keep up the pressure on the wrinkly old wizard, though Babidi’s barrier holds him up.

“Oh please, I can keep this up all day!” Babidi mocks him. “Your brute force is so droll… but maybe I can put that to some good use. You might not be enough to get some power out of these fools… but I’m sure that monkey woman will lead me to some decent little morsels for Majin Buu!”

“NOT HAPPENING!” Bardock smashes his fist into the barrier harder. “Read my mind all you want, you’re a fool if you think you can take it over!”

A twisted grin appears on Babidi’s face. “Oh? Is that a fact? Well if you’re going to be so difficult… ah yes. I’m sure that will prove useful. You had a whole squad, didn’t you? I think they’d do well to serve as my new minions.” That gets Bardock to punch the barrier harder and harder, rage fueling his attacks… rage beyond his norm. You feel Bardock’s Ki start to spike. Babidi looks up at you as you continue to dodge the shards of energy. “Gohan… I’m afraid you’re too late now. With Baby at the helm, he can send energy to Majin Buu directly.”

“NOT!” Bardock punches again. “HAPPENING!” And again. “YOU OVERGROWN!” And again… as his hair spikes up. “NERF TESTICLE!”

Babidi yawns mockingly. “Your power is nothing. Barely half a Kili. You’ll need to do better than that to-”

The next attack hits harder. Hard enough to damage crack Babidi’s barrier ever so slightly. “SHUT THE HELL UP!” He pulls his hand back. “AND GO! DOWN! RRAAAAAAAAHHH!” With one final surge of power, Bardock punches through the barrier and hits Babidi right in his smug face, sending the wizard flying across the ground…

With his hair blonde and aura a glowing gold. You grin proudly. Way to go, gramps.

Bardock for the save! Had a blast, Kato! Thanks for running! Please get some rest now.

Galactic evils really need to learn to quit antagonizing Saiyans. It never ends well.

Thanks for running, it's been a dicey time so far, but it's nice to see Gohan fighting against all the assholes who ever did cross him.

I wanted to see Videl break through Babidi's shield. Another Super Saiyan? Bargain Bin tier.

Like, who cares about Super Saiyan? It makes fights worse, tournaments especially. You could either have a fight against a person with a unique fighting style, or some dumb brute who figured out how to make their hair turn gold.

Although, I did get confused as to who was fighting who. I skim your posts when it's time to vote.

Why doesn't Bardock get his own paragraph? Please have one actor's actions to a paragraph, or the responder's actions in turn. I seriously thought Videl was fighting Babidi.

>Meanwhile on the other side of the galaxy, a recently revived Lord Chilled is having tea with Frieza, Cold and Cooler as they discuss how they're going to deal with Kuriza. Only for a chill to run down Chilled's spine for some mysterious reason...
