Gobson the goblin had his old nest get destroyed by Dwarves. But through hard work and luck he’s able to turn his fate around. No longer having to play/fight with sticks and stones in a cave. He’s with a party traveling throughout the lands, having finished the last quest, he now has to take an overland journey across a war torn nation. The party split in two, with half going to warn about an invasion and the others have to meet up with them at a later date. All this work in an effort to become more than just a goblin, to surpass how everyone views him. How everyone views him as an no good green skin.* * * * *With you now awake, you lift yourself off the bed and head upstairs to see what quest the others have picked in your absence. You greet them with a forced smile, they soon fill you in. The only quest worth doing in this small out of the way station, is killing a mountain giant.Everything else is helping clear rats in the basement, get a cat out of the tree, help move some stones. All quests that will give only copper for doing the work, while the giant is a dangerous beast. That is starting to capture livestock from the Dwarves and later on could start capturing the Dwarves themselves. The party is split if going to kill the Mountain giant as it is among the tallest of giants. Being over 18 to 20 feet tall, and having a heavy hide. It can crush anyone if they get too close, and they seem to not like the risk that the giant entails. We have to be big brained to get the debt paid off. 3 silver that's going to be split among the kobolds and bit's and prot is not going to make a dent in the debt. We should atleast try to capture it and sell it, it's not like it's going to be fast enough to catch us anyways.

>>4364708I'm pretty sure we have options, like we can buy more rope at the city or get sleeping drugs or something, where the fuck is it going to go, we can prepare to do something with it as long as we want if it's trapped. And it's not like if we trap it the only option is going to be to sell it. We can just kill it while it's trapped if we can't find a way to detain it. I think trapping is the safest way in general anyways, we don't have to fight it, and we could just sling it to death from above or something. Listen the traps are going to work because three of the kobolds critted, and the trap doesn't have to be a giant hole. If we just try to whittle it down with ranged it's going to lose a lot of health but not die, but if we manage to trap it we take out in one fell swoop. Trapping it doesn't mean we HAVE to bring back to the city anons. I think it's the safest way for killing it too. Remember Kobolds are supposed to be really big experts at traps.

But no one knows the current situation over there, if crossing is even allowed as the nation is currently suffering from civil war. There was one more problem to account for, it was Stas, she is still pregnant and will slow everyone down. She says that she can handle overland travel in the mountains be it to a town or through the wilderness but you’re not sure about that. Since after it's plowed the farmer still needs to seed it. So you only saved him some days of work. Most farmers don't own their own farm or land meaning they are poor serfs. You'll be paid in food not money most of the time or whatever the farmer has to trade(not much) Also depending on what season it is. I don't understand, if we wanted the zephy hounds why didn't we vote to fight them when we had a chance. And we're not going to be going to Scar's place anytime soon. All we've been doing for like the past two threads has been grinding skills while travelling with the occasional random encounter. Once we can read we can study trade and leadership skills by reading about them. While better communication skills will help us a lot with our high charisma. It's just a long term investment.Another thing to keep in mind is our low intrigue and truth detection skills which are biting us on the ass repeatedly. Both of whom are very in line with having a high charisma we should be a natural at politics, intrigue, diplomacy, and lying. Yet we haven't bothered to level any sneaky or subterfuge related skills hardly. We are a weak ass goblin so we should fight dirty. With poison. Ambushes. Trickery. Ect. Its actually the fastest way to improve our deadliness in the short term.Once we have reading we can FINALLY make serious progress on proper leadership skills and magic. Anons keep making the fatal assumption of focusing on personal ability and small group tactics(with goblins/kobolds lol the only ones who are good at it is the big uns). We need to focus on numbers. Gobson never should have been the goddamn tank. We keep getting KOed from it and don't follow the proper god for it either. Not to mention it really fucks with our skill upgrades which are now downright fatal to us because of our personal enemies who DO follow the appropriate gods and train specifically for combat alone. This means we cannot ever compete with them. Period.Hence the importance of numbers, smarts, and subterfuge. We are desperately lacking in numbers and espionage related skills. Once we learn to read Gobson is gonna explode with potential assuming he has the money to buy books to study. With proper education, magic, and followers Gobson has the potential to become one scary motherfucker. The problem is ALL of it is long term potential when we are under direct threat from short term threats who can easily overpower and kill Gobson. Simply put Gobson needs bodyguards and learn how to fight dirty. So far the Goblins after Gobson's life are dumb but strong. They can in fact be dealt with if we play dirty or recruit/raise proper goblins.In fact Muglum pointed out how good it was Gobson did with teaching the stray male goblin children. This is Gobson's salvation in more ways than one. The unique thing about Charisma for goblins is the ability to control much stronger goblins/minions who are even strong then they are and to better teach the weak ones to raise them to be strong. Gobson and players are forgetting just how powerful of a gamechanger this can be. We have an ability to regen large amounts of health at once already, but the thing is we can't use this if we're unconscious. The best way to not have insane amounts of downtime is to not not be knocked out at all or not be insanely in the negatives with our health. And even if we were knocked out higher health would still have us waste less time.Let's say that we went all health like I wanted to last time. With the bird that knocked us out earlier we would have had only -3 health instead of -28, even with tripled regen being only -3 in health would still take much less time than regenning from a point of -28. Also with Ots we would've still had some health left, which would've given us an option to run from combat or call for our boys health. Having more health makes it so there's much less downtime, and it's actually useful in combat unlike regen.Also the idea that having high health would make it so that we'd eat penalties just seems flat out wrong to me, there have been many occasions in combat where Gobson was barely at half health and had to take a penalty because of that. Also as I have said before the wolf blood ability lets us regain large amounts of health at once, so that mitigates any time we take with penalties. And having high health makes it less likely we get to the point where we take penalties anyways.I think getting regen would be a big mistake, it's not useful in combat, it doesn't even reduce downtime more than having high health does, and it's redundant with the wolf-blood ability. Regen just doesn't make sense to me unless we a much higher health pool first.

You see the big people of the group playing cards with the Dwarves. Prot sporting a bleeding face of claw marks with Bits tending to him. The Kobolds are talking about the normal things. Noplo talks about trapping a Underdark creature for the contest he is in. Duppo the scout saying the few coppers isn’t worth making maps and would rather stay in the inn to learn magic. Star not really feeling like converting others to Lydos as Dwarves dismissed her for being a Kobold and the Cat people can’t speak any of the languages she knows. Hahlo still asking for a bolt boy, Arril has his poems all ready for the poetry reading. The other two Kobolds Jade and Emerald are going to stay at the inn for the day to partake in this magic lesson.You hold hands with the others and give a prayer to Lydos and eat. After eating you see most kobolds save for Noplo go over to speak with Bradley. He takes the kobolds to the bedroom and starts calling out their names. Once he reached Noplo the kobolds explained that he’s busy trapping things, but Star says he’ll make sure he doesn’t fall behind. After name calling he turns to speak with you.Bradley: “Oh hello Gobson we’re doing a lesson right now on the tome you got. Want to sit in?”Gobson: “No, I just wanna ask about the book. Is it worth learning?”Bradley: “Of course! Plowing fields can increase your farming effectiveness by over 1000 percent! Imagine getting your fields all plowed in a singular day!
