You are Ushi Walker, the half-japanese/half-american wielder of the mighty quirk “Everything is Bigger in Texas", one of U.A. High's top first-year students, repeated rule breaker, helper of little girls and a seemingly poor night runner, judging by your aching arm after getting knocked off your feet by a quirk-possessed animatronic a few minutes ago.

After having helped Fumikage control Dark Shadow in the darkness of the haunted house with your phone's light after he destroyed every animatronic in the building and reaching the room where Denki and Iida were looking for Yuka, it was Dark Shadow that found her, within an unnaturally dark prop well…

But she didn't seem to physically be there, leading your friends to theorize her newly manifested quirk allows her to meld with the shadows.

Not having any reason to doubt it and having no better ideas yourself, you turn towards your birdheaded friend for a solution, the one amongst you that really seems to know what you all are dealing with.

"Fumikage, ya think you could help her… ya know, turn it off?" You ask him, waving nervously at the well. "Puhlease?"

>"...Allow me to try." He answers, handing your phone back to you, peering into the well and clearing his throat. He then begins cryptically reciting, less like calming advice and more like a poem, "Calm yourself and the storm in your soul. Become aware of yourself. Then emerge from the darkness..."

You share a glance with your other friends, wondering what the heck that was, before Denki speaks up first.

>"Dude. Little kid, remember?" The blond boy explains to him. "You gotta make it simple for her, make it more digestible! You are too…stiff! Too formal!"

As Fumikage stops to think, staring into the well along with Denki and you, Iida paces around the room, as nervous physically as you feel internally.

"Yuka..." Fumikage tries again, speaking softly and slowly, a lilt in his voice you have never heard before, as his open hand reaches into the well. "...Take my hand."

It's as simple as can be… And it seems to work! A familiar yet faded and ghostly hand rises from the dark, as if it were a liquid. It blindly claws and reaches around, reminding you of a drowning victim before it nears Fumikage's grasp.

Fumikage wastes no time clasping his hand around hers, placing his good foot on the edge of the well for leverage and pulling her out of the seemingly liquid darkness. He briefly stumbles forward, silently wincing as he shifts back on to his injured leg, but nonetheless continues to pull. Realizing what's going on you rush behind him and pull him into some sort of hug, helping to anchor him.

It takes a couple of nervous seconds, but eventually the teary eyed girl is out of the darkness of the well, said unnatural darkness fading back into normal shadow when deprived of her touch.

>"M-mister Bird…" She sobs, hugging your unsuspecting friend.

>"...You'll be okay now." He reassures her in the same calm voice while looking around. He’s clearly uncomfortable yet doing his best to comfort her, relieved and encouraging smiles from everyone else present.

"<Thank god…>" You mutter as you let go of him and take a step to the side, looking at the still clearly scared girl. "You had us worried sick, sugah. Ah can't even think what your momma felt like..."

>"Feels." Iida interjects, excitedly pointing back the way to the exit. "We have to show her you're all right Yuka!"

But instead of the enthusiasm to return to her mother you expected, she softly shakes her head while her hold on Fumikage tightens, stumping you.

>"And why not?" Denki asks her, crouching slightly to look at her at eye level. "Why don'tcha wanna see your mommy?"

>"Mommy…. she got so scared… I got scared too…" Yuka starts, tears welling up in her eyes. "I hate the dark when I'm alone…"

Once more it is Fumikage who knows what to say…

>"The darkness of this place only revealed the darkness within, your true nature." He explains to her, and you can tell he means it. "That is not something to fear, nor to feel ashamed of."

...But for all his effort to comfort and the heartfelt words, she doesn't seem to understand.

>"Lil' kid, man!" Denki reminds him.

>"What I mean is…" Fumikage starts then trails off, failing to find the words this time..

>"The dark is your friend!" Dark Shadow cheerfully tells her as it creeps over Fumikage's shoulder, booping her in the nose with a dark talon. "Don't turn your back on the dark, and the dark will care for you."

For a fraction of a second she seems like she's about to panic, but instead Yuka manages to get a couple words out.

>"Who's… that…?" She asks, sniffling and holding back her tears.

>"...This guy happens to be my quirk." Fumikage tells her with the most strained smile you think a beak can manage.

>"That's Dark Shadow for you!" Denki interjects, waving at the shadow bird with a smile.

"He can be pretty nice!" You tell her, despite not being completely sure of it yourself.

Now more curious than frightened, she reaches for Dark Shadow, flinching momentarily when he stretches his neck towards her, putting himself within her reach.

>"You're not scared of it, Yuka?" Fumikage asks her, watching her finally touch Dark Shadow, then begin to pet his beak.

>"Not if it's your friend." She answers, continuing her patting. "I'm not scared of you either anymore, Mister Bird."

>"...Glad to hear it." He tells her with a more natural smile, prompting her to smile for the first time as well.

Yuka looks around the dimly lit room as Fumikage places her back on her feet. At the shadows on the walls, at the broken puppets as well as you and your classmates, and finally back to Dark Shadow himself…then she jumps in place.
>>
>"Friends… Friends! I made friends!" She sings as she raises her arms, sounding like the bit at the end of a preschooler's cartoon while also making the curtains wiggle as if dancing.

Were it not… No despite the drying tears and snot on her face, it's still pretty cute to watch.

>"Shall we be off, then?" Fumikage finally asks her, standing up, flinching once more when placing weight on his hurt ankle.

>"Uh-huh." She quickly replies while nodding, looking at you and raising her arms for a brief moment, then lowering them and looking down sheepishly.

"Oh, don't worry, we can do that…" You tell her, looking at the rubble around you.

While the boys don't seem to like the idea, none of them stop you from carrying both Fumikage and Yuka on your back, with Yuka sitting on Fumikage's shoulders while you give him a piggy ride.

It only takes a few minutes to leave the Hounted Hause now that the props aren't going crazy, exiting through the front door just as a small time hero shows up. After Iida gives a play-by-play of what happened to the authorities and the hero leaves a bit bitter, the scene calms down and the rubberneckers leave, now knowing there shouldn't be any more chaos.

You also learn that this was a best case scenario thanks to a park employee commenting on the park's mandatory quirk insurance and how it would cover all the costs caused by the first quirk manifestations of children. Neat. ...And that the park will be closing for the rest of the day due to this. Not so neat.

With the boring formalities out of the way, you bring Yuka to where Pony and her mother stand, letting your passengers down so Yuka could stand on her own and her mother could pick her up in a hug.

>"I don't know what to say…" She starts, wiping a stray tear from her face. "This makes it twice you have rescued my little Yuka… Is there any way I can properly thank you?"

While you doubt you would have said anything different, Iida answers for you all.

>"No thanks necessary." He says, making an horizontal cutting motion with his arm. "As students at U.A. High School and aspiring heroes, we did what we had to do. Think nothing of it ma'am!"

"What kinda heroes would we be if we weren't to help a lil' girl in trouble?" You tell both mother and daughter, not expecting any answer, nor Pony's sad hoof-digging into the ground.

The woman looks at all of you with a kind, thankful smile before putting her hands on her daughter's shoulders.

>"These wonderful youths are your future heroes, Yuka." She tells her, warming your heart. "Go thank them before we go home."

It feels like a step in the right direction.

>"Thanks again!" Yuka says, giving you a small bow.

...Then she runs up to Fumikage.

>"...Um… I, uh…" She starts, then just looks down, trailing off as she seems unable to speak up her mind.

>"What's the matter?" Fumikage asks her, still softly and kind.

The little girl breathes in and yells.

>"...You're a Prince Charming, Mister Bird I love you!" She says, getting a reaction out of everyone present.

>"Oh my." Says her mother.

"Ah reckon Ah didn't see that one comin'" You say before throwing your head back in laughter, not at what Yuka confessed, but at Fumikage's reaction.

After all, it's not often that you see a lower beak drop in utter shock.

>"I knew it!" Dark Shadow tells him with the smuggest most mocking smile his malleable face allows as he closes Fumikage's beak with one of his claws.

>"Getting a crush to confess? I guess girls really dig the dark and mysterious sort after al!" Denki says, giving him a pat on the back.

"Is that how you feel, Yuka?..." Iida asks her, back to taking everything seriously and lecturing little kids. "It's a bit early for romance, though. Once you are all grown-up you'll first need permission from your parents to date. Of course, you might want to ask Tokoyami's parents as well!"

"Or not!" You add, to Iida's shock. "Love ain't got nothin' to do with yer old folk. It's just better if everyone plays nice!"

>"Yeah, ask away!" Pony tells her with a wink. "Just don't let a No stop you!"

>"Okay!" Yuka tells you all as her mother laughs under her hand. "I'm gonna remember all that! Bye-bye, Mister Bird."

She stands there, smiling brightly for a second before turning back and running towards her mom.

>"...What a dark future awaits her." He mumbles, quickly turning around. Not fast enough for you to not notice the slight change in coloration on his face.

>"We both know she's not blonde enough, cowboy." Dark Shadow taunts him, getting pulled back into Fumikage's core like newly bought measuring tape.

You just chuckle awkwardly at that, but Pony quickly pulls you aside, a shade or two pinker than normal.

>"<Like, what does it mean with that!?>" She hurriedly asks you, loudly whispering into your ear.

"<Don't think too much 'bout what Dark Shadow says.>" You tell her with an awkward chuckle. "<He likes to say stuff Fumikage knows better than sayin'.>"

She's slowly nods and you sigh in relief, glad about not having to really explain anything.

With the park closing down around you, going home isn't really a choice, but something you have to do after getting Dark Shadow a hot dog, giving hugs and farewells.
Dark Shadow was nice enough to earn it.

The following day is Parents' Day, and when you entered Classroom 1-A almost everyone there made sure to show that they knew it, chattering about what their families and who was coming to see them.

For your part, you have a good time talking about what you did on Sunday, chipping in to comment on what Denki told Mineta as Fumikage and Iida do.

While Denki is the one person you think it's his friend, for your part, you participate hoping that Mineta realises what he missed and tries to be a better person from now on.

>"Good morning, Midoriya!" Iida greets his friend as he passes by on the way to his seat. "And a happy Parents' Day to you!"

"Sugah… You're aware this ain't no holiday, right?" You tell him, just in case.

>"Morning… Ah! How was the theme park yesterday?" Deku asks, looking at your current group. "Again, sorry that I couldn't make it!"

>"Think nothing of it. Our day was anything but ordinary… But we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves." Iida tells him, then turns around to look at Fumikage. "Wouldn't you agree, Tokoyami?"

>"Sure…" He replies, nodding in an unnaturally stiff manner.

>"Get this, Midoriya! They just told me Tokoyami's a cradle robber!" Mineta tells him, pointing a thumb at the mortified Fumikage.

>"Ehh?" Deku mumbles, looking around for some sort of explanation.

>"What!?" Fumikage dramatically says after recovering. "Enough of your falsehoods, fiend!"

>"Nah, not really." Denki quickly interjects to explain the awkwardness away, awkwardly laughing himself. "A little did confess her love for him tho."

>"...Why?" Deku monosyllabically continues.

>"It's far too long a story to recount at the moment, and none amongst us can predict where it may lead." Iida explains, not doing a very good job of it in your opinion. "Suffice to say no cradles were pilfered by our good Tokoyami."

"We helped a lil' girl lost in the park and brought her to her momma. Her name's Yuka and she was afraid of birds and Fumikage." You start, quickly explaining everything to Deku. "Later she got trapped in the haunted house when her darkness quirk manifested and Fumikage helped her calm down control it enough to get out. She told him he was her Prince Charmin' and that she loves him. -GASP- See? Not that long. Yuka's just bein' a cute lil' one."

>"Cute for now. But who can say, though, once she grows up!" Mineta says, his voice reeking half of perversion and cold calculations. "If he was smart, he'd raise her to be his ideal bride, just like old Hikaru Genji did with Princess Akahashi!"

You are literally too stunned to say anything about that.

>"You're the only one who would enact such a scheme." Fumikage tells him, glaring at him with utter contempt and sounding disgusted.

>"Maybe…" He smuggly replies. "There's nothing illegal about it, after all."

>"There's another thing that should be illegal!" Kyoka yells from across the room, clearly having been talking with Momo, but unable to sit still after hearing that. "Along with your ability to be near schools! And changing rooms!"

>"Flatties don't get a say in this." Mineta says, completely dismissing her with scorn.

Being an avid arcade player, you hadn't ever wanted to feel what a stun lock was like, but here you are now, taking repeated psychic damage.

>"WHAT!?" Kyoka yells back, righteously mad and seemingly ready to murder him, her jacks reminding you of rattlesnakes as they quake in anger.
>>
>"...What does "Flatties" mean?" Iida asks, seemingly not feeling anything one way or the other.

>"Small boobs, man." Denki fills him in, ducking under his desk in preparation for what's to come.

>"You! Stop telling about this stuff!" Mineta tells Denki, then points at Iida. "And you, stop asking about it!"

>"How rude. Breasts are breasts." Iida says with a shrug, then adjusts his glasses. "One shouldn't get hung up on their relative size."

>"He's quite right, Jiro!" Momo confidently says, grabbing Kyoka's shoulder as she tries to keep things civil.

>"...You are the second worst person to say that, Yaoyorozu…" Kyoka says, crossing her arms over her chest, looking down and away.

It's not even 8:25AM and you feel like you could maul someone already.
A very specific someone sitting barely out of arm's reach.

>Remark to Iida bitterly about Mineta “That sound like someone who learned their lesson?...”

Ushi could potentially put Mineta on blast to his mom/dad for the day. “Your son is a lecherous piece of shit and its a wonder he even got into a hero school let alone UA.” Fuck social etiquette. He already has with his gall.

As far as Im concerned, Ushi is about hitting the juncture where her collective trust in the 1-A boys should begin to, even by a degree, fall. Its seeding doubt as to what really happened in the locker room incident if he feels like can continue like this.

>[Glare in Mineta's eye, staring right into his soul. Is this truly what you have centered your whole mortal existence on? Your dreams and aspirations are all bound within the framework of gross material pleasure. What will be left for you once you have attained that pleasure and realized the brief jolt of Dopamine is only slightly different than jacking off? What will you do when that hollowness comes over you realizing that your entire life has been focused on a brief and fleeting sensation of ecstasy that gives you nothing after the fact? You have become so enraptured in the acquisition of intimidate satisfaction that you have lost sight of what really matters in life. I pity creatures like you, so enraptured in the hunt that you hardly notice yourself starving and withering away on the inside. Be honest with me Mineta, do you truly have any comradery with any of us? Do you even care about 'Justice' or serving your countrymen? Would you ever put yourself in harm's way if it meant protecting anyone but yourself? If one of us died would you even care? Or is it that your mind is so overflowing with carnal urges that there is not the faintest ember of your 'Humanity' remaining. Be honest Mineta, if you could get laid whenever you wanted would you even have a reason to 'Live'?]
This sounds like something that SQR Deku would say, but fuck it this fuck goblin needs to confront the existential crisis of his entire existence.

I like what you are trying for, but the message is weakened somewhat by the length and how broad it is.

Phrasing something in as few words as possible without losing the core meaning is the best way to get a message through loud and clear.

I'd go with something a bit more direct like

>Mineta, either knock it off or drop out of the hero course. You can't be a hero if you have a history of sexual harassment. It's not a joke: it's a crime.

I think Mineta really needs to have a heavy re-assessment of his life. Just telling him it isn't good for his career isn't enough, only by having the very deepest recesses of his being directly probed will he realize what he is and the sheer mind-shattering emptiness in his life.

"Huff." You mutter as you slump over your desk, then take a deep breath. Then another, and some more, distancing yourself from their conversation.

The day is young and your momma is gonna come see you in like half an hour, now is not the time to get mad.

So, you wait for Mr. Aizawa to arrive and Homeroom to start.

But it just... doesn't happen, forcing Momo and you to lead the short period without his guidance once the bell dings.

"...And finally, please show us your envelopes, y'all!" You say as the normal Homeroom routine comes to an end, looking at the white envelopes your classmates raise, as well as your own, a large A4 envelope with a single full page inside, contrasting with everyone else's letter sized envelopes.

While most of them look completely normal give or take a few scribbles, you can't help but notice some other outliers, like how Iida's looks overstuffed and ready to burst open, how Bakugo holds his like it's contents were radioactive or how Momo's envelope is actually wax sealed.

But once you get that out of the way, you can only exchange glances with your fellow class representative. You are supposed to keep order when there's no teachers in the room, but you were never told you had to hold the fort today, nor what for.

>"...So, Mr. Aizawa's just not here, right?" Toru asks, her floating sleeves telling you she's raising her arm and waving. "Wonder what happened to him…"

>"Maybe he's just late? Ribbit." Tsuyu offers, bringing up the most likely answer.

>"A U.A. educator, late on an exhibition day!?" Iida shouts, jumping to his feet and pointing at his watch with his other arm. "This is dire! It could damage the school's reputation, even!"

>"Should we do something about... everyone?" Momo starts as you watch the classroom order start to crumble in less than a second.

"Nah… A small government is best" You reply with a shrug, waving her worries off and figuring all of your classmates would behave for a couple minutes. A teacher has to come by and explain it

>"C'mon, Iida. Mr. Aizawa's just a man! He gets to be late from time to time!" Sero explains with a shrug, a carefree smile on his face.

>"Sero! Heroes are forever locked in the eternal struggle against time!" Iida pontificates, getting poor Sero to cringe away. "Even a single second can mean life or death for those in need of rescue, so any tardiness is a terrible sin!"

Seeing Momo point at him and cross her arms, you give her a sheepish smile, silently pleading for your classmates to act their age…

>"It is weird. Mr. Aizawa has never been late, not even the injuries he received during the attack on U.S.J. stopped him from showing up on time, nor it lines up with Eraserhead's profile, always showing up at his few events-" Deku starts rambling, much to the chagrin of another one of your classmates.

>"SHUT UP ALREADY!" Bakugo yells, slamming a fist on his desk, but not bothering to looking at Deku.

>"I'm sorry!" Deku immediately shoots back as he shrinks back into his chair, seemingly without even thinking about it. "I mean… I hope he's okay?"

"Okay, okay…" You mutter as you feel Momo's smugness bore into you. "Ahem… EVERYONE JUST WAIT CALMLY ON YOUR DESKS! Thank ya."

Having a good set of pipes, your shout manages to get everyone to at the very least, shut up and sit down.

>"We must be on our best behavior." Momo tells the assembled class, then reads a bit from the papers Mr. Aizawa had left on his desk. "It's nearly the scheduled time for our parents to arrive."

>"Yeah… Weird none of them show'd up early, eh?" Kirishima asks, shrugging and chuckling. "Guess the old man finally got that watch to work!"

>"Maybe they got lost?" Kyoka wonders.

>"Oh yeah! U.A.'s freakin' huge!" Mina adds, spreading her arms as far as she can. "I've gotten lost here a few times myself!"

>"Even with the map?" Kirishima asks her, showing her his phone with the U.A. app open.

>"Oh… Yeah… Funny things, maps…" She says with a nervous laugh. "You totally forget about those when you need them most!"

>"President! Why don't you go to the staff room and ask about what happened?" Iida then suggests.

"...That ain't half bad an id-" You try to say, but a classwide buzzing interrupts you.

>"A message from Mr. Aizawa!" Deku announces, looking at his phone.

Pulling up your own phone, you can confirm it seems to be a message to everyone in Class 1-A.

"Ride bus to mock cityscape. Now." You read out loud. "...Ah guess he means Grounds… Somewhere between Alpha and Sigma?"

>"Maybe he means to meet us at the parking lot." Momo guesses. "Why however, I can't tell."

>"I've got it!" Denki announces, raising his hand but not waiting before speaking. "Mr. Aizawa probably wants to do the model class to show our folks, the letter reading and the tour in one go! It's logical and rational! You know he loves that stuff."

It… does make sense, and everyone seems to agree.

>"Well, since we have our orders…" Momo says, putting away her own phone and sliding her hand under Mr. Aizawa's desk, unlocking the suitcases on the wall. "Everyone! Let's get changed and meet at the busses in five minutes! And don't forget your letters!"

It doesn't take more than a minute for everyone to grab their suitcase and retreat to the changing rooms, leaving you and Momo behind.

"Hey… You are gettin' better at this cat herdin'!" You tell her with a proud smile as you retrieve your Loanstar costume.

>"Why, thank you." She answers with a smile of her own, taking her own suitcase under her arm. "I can't help but wonder what it is that Mr. Aizawa is testing us for here, but I intend to excel!"

"What'cha mean sugah?" You ask as both of you make your way to the changing room.

>"There is a logic to this course of action, but not the efficiency that characterizes him." She tells you, the seriousness in her voice telling you how much thought she's put into this. "Discarding the possibility of this being a mere error, making us waste time like this isn't something he would do. Perhaps an exercise to test our reactions with little to no information?"

"Ah'm pretty sure we've been through that, sugah." You tell her, first recalling the League's attack at U.S.J., then All Might's costume party. "Twice."

It seemed like your interpretation of the message was correct, as a bus was waiting for you at the main parking lot after you all changed, one of the same busses that brought you to U.S.J. back then, now dropping you off in front of Ground Beta, as the driver tells you, she was instructed.

"Thank ya!" You say to the driver as the bus turns around leves, speeding off.

>"He's evidently not here." Creati remarks, then motions for all of you to follow her. "He must be inside the city, let's not make him wait."

"Hol' up sugah, there's something off in the air." You tell her, grabbing her shoulder with a gloved hand, shooting a glance to Tentacole, to make sure you aren't imagining it.

>"I smell it as well." He calmly says, stretching his tentacles, now with noses at the tips.

>"Not me!" Mineta immediately protests, making it really hard for you to keep ignoring him.

>"Not sin…It's the smell of gasoline." Tentacole declares, his superior senses identifying something you could only detect as strange traces and nobody else even noticed.

"Maybe another fake pileup? To show off?" You suggest. "We did som-"

>"-EEEELP!" Someone screams within the fake city, loud enough for even you to hear.

"-<Oh god>." You meekly mutter before the single scream becomes a chorus.

About a score of voices cry for help… Your momma's amongst them.

Looking around, it's clear everyone recognizes someone amongst the voices, the despair clear on their faces.

All but Bakugo's of course, whose gloves start smoking as his face twists in anger.

>"Keep it up, they are certainly listening…" A cool, obviously modulated voice says, the speakers system of the mock city carrying the vaguely masculine voice everywhere.

We can't go sneaking, barging, charging or walking in yet. We need to take care of the class as VEEP and try to help Creati get some cohesion going. We need to do it fast and we need to be as sneaky as we can in case whoever can see us can also hear us.

Should we tell everyone who isn’t sneaking in to form a perimeter? Can’t let any of our parents be spirited away. And it’d give the louder students something to do other than give away our position.

If we hadn’t heard the line which clearly establishes this as a trap I’d say we should just bust in ourself... but as it is, we have a window of time to set up.

In game terms, the law of large numbers means if we bring everybody then at least one is bound to bungle their stealth check.

Moreover, I don’t trust the more triggerhappy ones not to try to fight while small and using our quirk 40 times to shrink and grow the whole class is probably more time consuming than I’d like.

For the record: I didn't want to lay into Mineta. I wanted to give a clear, no-nonsense warning that he was pushing his luck and might even hurt his chances of success as a hero.

And I get that Mineta isn't a one dimensional character. Doesn't change the fact that he's actively creeping on girls. Ignoring people in distress isn't exactly heroic.

Now, the all important question: "What Would All Might do?"

Hmm, All Might is legendary for talking people around, but he's not really known for his cunning language skills. The key to his success with getting through to people seems to be his immense capacity to feel for others. He doesn't just throw out masterful arguments, he tries to meet people where they are at and determine what he can say that is actually meaningful to them. Works great unless he runs into a true fanatic.

So yea, try to figure out Mineta a little more. Maybe get him talking or just pay closer attention until he let's slip enough to understand where this is coming from.

Honestly, he's probably not a sexual predator. He seems to actually seek out castigation and outrage. Best thing to do with people like that is just establish where the boundaries are and what will happen if they are crossed.
>>
I like that we’re heading in the sneaking direction, but I feel I should add:

If anyone else decides to barge in, we lose the element of surprise. It may be worth pointing out to the class at large that as soon as they know we’ve walked into the (obvious) trap, our families lose their usefulness as bait.

Better to have the main group wait to hear the surprise attack go off. Also, someone should be dialing for professional help.

You can't blame any of your classmates for rushing in, running into the mock city, towards the screaming voices of your parents. You almost do the same, after all.

Almost. There's no way this isn't a trap, and you aren't about to be caught within when it springs shut.

However, you still need to get closer to find out what exactly is going on, ideally without giving this new villain any chance to see you… But that's what you've trained for.

As your classmates go around you to get into Ground Beta, you wrap your cape around your neck, face and join your hands together, letting the mists of your quirk cover you and leaving nothing behind when it disperses, reappearing atop an apartment building less than a minute later.

While teleporting is not within your skill set, shrinking and hitching a ride on your classmates, all too distracted by the situation to notice you using them as launching pads to reach your goal, climbing the last few vertical yards up to the leaning apartment building's roof on your own power, glad to have the star in your chest disperse the heat by the end of the climb, as you look over the mess below.

A cubic cage, not unlike the ones in cartoons rests over a barely stable chunk of the street, surrounded by a massive pit full of what your burning nose assures you is gasoline, no less than a truckful of it. The bit of street along with the cage seem to be resting atop a slim pillar, a tower of concrete that whoever carved the hole in Grounds Beta intentionally left for this purpose, you deduce. Some sort of last resort to kill all hostages at once if needed.

Within the cage, you see your Momma and what you assume to be your classmates parents through the vertical bars. The fact that the cage is so exposed and its contents so clearly visible only makes you feel like it's even more of a trap.

Seeing them suspended over a pit of gasoline, you have a good idea of what the bastard that did this intends to scare you with.

What does he want, however, you still don't know, but as your classmates arrive at the edge of the pit and their parents cry for them, you wait for him to speak.

>"WHERE'S MR. AIZAWA!?" Red Riot demands to know looking around the area, seeing the same as you do… Nothing about the villain in question.

>"Down." The modulated voice answers, the machine hiding his voice unable to filter the sheer malice in his voice, dropping from the word like droplets of venom. "He had to take his last dirt nap to make this possible."

You can see your classmates brace themselves for a fight at that, demanding answers.

>"He can't be dead, right?" Pinky asks, shook. "...right?"

>"NICE ONE, BUT MR. AIZAWA HAS TAKEN WORSE!" Red Riot boasts, not buying it.

>"SHOW YOUR FACE, YOU BASTARD!" Bakugo asks to see him, shoving the rest to make his way to the front, small explosions lighting up his gloves. "LET'S SKIP TO THE PART WHERE WHERE I CAVE YOUR FACE IN!"

>"Calm yourselves. I don't need you to believe me." The voice tells them. "...Just to remember there's hostages in play."

And just like that does everyone shut up, most even taking a step back as the stakes sink in.

Once again you can count on Tentacole's senses, even from afar.

>"Inside the cage." The largest of your classmates declares, his tentacles tipped by ears. "The non-amplified voice comes from within the cage."

"...Inside?" You mutter to yourself, trying to wrap your head around that.

Is he planning to use your families as human shields?

>"...Correct. Here am I, with them." The villain replies, and as he speaks the parents within the cage flinch away from the back of the cage, revealing a tall man in black garb, mask, cape and cowl, looking like a real hero costume that was intentionally spray painted black.

>"Now, let's lay down some rules. No contacting the school or other authorities is the first one. Put down your phone, Tenya. And you even try to use your quirk, little Denki." The villain says as he slowly walks forwards, all of the parts scurrying away from him. "Fleeing or seeking outside assistance is also forbidden. If any one of you breaks one of these rules… I'll simply kill everyone in this cage."

And that renews the chaos, as you can see your own momma run across the cage, hitting a bar with her shoulder to little or no effect, then grabbing and rattling the bars, scanning the area where your classmates stand… Probably looking for you, and not finding you.

>"GET ME OUT OF H-HERE!" Momma yells, the demanding fury in her voice cracking in what you recognize as desperation.

She'll drink herself silly if.. no, when you get her out.

A well built man that reminds you a bit of your Pa joins her on her rattling, but not even together they manage to do more than make noise.

>"DANGIT!" The man yells with an accent that reminds you a bit of your own. "AIN'T NOTHIN' WE CAN DO ABOUT THESE SOLID BARS!"

>"DAD!" Uravity cries, sounding… Helpless.

>"H-HELP US, MOMO!" Creati's mom cries, makeup running down the cheeks of the normally cool and collected woman as she kneels at the corner of the cage, away from the advancing villain.

>"Please, you mustn't panic, Mother… Keep calm..." Your ponytailed friend says, trying to convey a calm she's clearly not feeling herself.

At the opposite corner, a large man in a suit looks down and croaks twice.

>"Danger… Ribbit." Froppy ...translates? Sounding defeated before a single punch is thrown.

Finally, it's none other than Deku that asks the important question.

>"WHY IS THIS HAPPENING? WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS!?" He demands, his gaze fixed on a spot in the cage, the short woman with green hair, if you had to guess.

>"I flunked out of U.A. ...All my childhood I dreamt of studying here, and hopes of being a hero was all I ever had." The villain says, finally arriving at the front of the cage. "That I was failed is all the proof I need to see how misaligned this cruel, twisted world is."

You listen in from afar, motionless and tight lipped, clenching your fists hard enough to turn your knuckles white. You are ready to pounce, feeling like a tightly wound spring after all you've seen and heard so far.

But Edgeshot's lessons keep you from jumping in just yet...

The massive pit over which your momma and your classmate's parents are is proof enough that he's very dangerous, and even if he didn't kill Mr. Aizawa, he still took him out and fooled the school security.

You won't catch him unawares a second time, you need to make a the best out of your one shot.

>"...Imagine that. Me, a dropout?" The villain continues his monologue, every parent in the cage wincing and flinching each time his jazz hands move in their general direction. "However, if left to your own devices, only the brightest of futures await you. That is why I've-"

And just when he's about to reveal his plan Bakugo interrupts him.

>"SO YOU THREW ON YOUR COSPLAY TO THROW A FUCKING TANTRUM!?" Your hero-nameless classmate screams at him, stomping forwards, brazenly challenging the villain as he builds up speed to run towards the edge of the pit, no doubt planning to propel himself towards the cage with his explosions.

>"Slow down." The villain coldly orders, quickly grabbing a blonde woman by the collar, forcing her to stand on the tips of her toes. "Or have you forgotten about the hostages already?"

If the resemblance wasn't enough of a tell, the panic on Bakugo's face as he stops dead on his tracks confirms her as his mom. It's nice to see that even he holds his momma in high-

>"GOOD JOB GETTING YOURSELF CAUGHT, HAG!" He yells at her, leaving you perplexed, almost as perplexed as what she does.

>"DON'T YOU CALL ME HAG YOU LIL' SHIT!" She yells back, her panicked expression vanishing to make way for a raging scowl.

"...Ah can see the family resemblance." You mutter, shocked.

>"Mrs. Bakugo, please we're hostages, remember…?" The smaller, green haired woman asks her, sounding troubled.

>"...You'll get us all killed, Mitsuki!" Your momma adds a second later.

>"Oh…. Whoops!" Mrs. Bakugo says, slowly turning her head to look at the villain holding her up. "...True enough!"

>"Shut up, everyone." The villain says, tossing her aside without any visible effort, leaving her sprawled on the cage's floor.

By this point, you are pretty sure your knuckles are bending.

>"...What are you after?" Deku says, once again asking the important questions, trying to sound far more commanding than he normally does. It... doesn't quite fit him.
>>
>"What am I after? One thing only, the utter destruction of you… You golden children and your bright futures." The villain answers, sinister glee underlining his words as he motions to the other occupants of the cage. "Slaughtering your parents while you watch should do it."

>"IF YOU WANNA GO, THEN BRING IT!" Red Riot rages, slamming his sharp, angular together. "JUST LEAVE OUR FOLKS OUTTA THIS!"

>"Why? I don't aim to destroy your bodies." He says, pulling a bowie knife and waving it around at neck height. "No. It will be that much more painful to see your parents suffer a gruesome end, forever blaming yourselves for not being able to do anything but watch."

>"If… If you truly walked the path of the hero once, then stop this madness!" Creati screams, Pinky besides her holding her shoulder.

>"Yeah!" Your pink friend yells, accusatory pointing at the villain with her free hand. "You are still going straight to the slammer! No matter what happens!"

>"That's alright. I have no intention of escaping, nor anything left to lose." The black clad villain says, flourishing his knife as the parents cower and scurry, trying to get as far away as they can within the cage. "So for my final act, I might as well savor your cries of agony as you watch your parents perish. So… Who do I start with?"

As he goes to reach for his first victim, you realize something. This isn't just a villain using his quirk to accomplish a goal in detriment to the rest. This guy is here to cause pain, grief…

...Terror.

With a deep breath, you reassess the situation before you break your own fingers, your nails already having left deep marks on the inside of your gloves.

He's armed, you don't know his quirk and he's locked inside the cage with your Momma and your classmates' parents, intending to make a show out of his gruesome deeds.

However, he also seems unable to shut up, responding to every taunt, remark or distraction, stopping to monologue at every chance… and your classmates seem to be amazing at all three of those things, as he's been talking for minutes and no one is any closer to dying.

But what may be the most important bit of information, is that he doesn't seem aware that you aren't with your classmates, having turned his back on your perch to taunt the rest of Class 1-A.

So, we're small enough to go flying through the bars. So we do just that. We need to find out if he has a something to drop the cage into the fire and, if he does, we need to disable that.

call out while tiny and see if shoji or jiro can hear us, if they can, we can relay our plan so the class is coordinated
So the plan should be let the more vocal members of class keep the guy talking. bakugo, kirishima, mina, but also leave someone to play good cop, like deku. also leave shoto, to be there aand catch the cage

take the rest of the class back and out of sight. we then want to shrink kaminari and sero to our size. then Ochako touches us, makes us 0 g, and momo poops out a launcher that can get us quietly up to the cage.
Once the three of us are at the cage, we slip in, ID the terrorist, We grow the boys back to normal while at the same time, they simultaneously taze and tape him up in a nice cacoon. while this is happening is when shoto makes a giant block of ice to catch the cage, as well anyone else who sees their time to act
>>
>>4360219
>>4360197
This is also kinda weird just based on how it's written; If she's able to rattle the bars, that would imply the cage is somewhat shoddily constructed, but if she hits another bar and causes no real effect, that implies it's well built.
It could very well be the case that the cage is intentionally built to be less structurally sound at certain points, either for means of a quick escape for the villain or to surprise heroes who try to target a weak point and shatter the cage.
>>
>>4360237
Momo should also make like, foam fire extinguishers than can be used on the fire to prevent it from going up. some of the less immediately relevent classmates can weild those while the cage is caught in the giant iceberg

>>
We’re the only one in his blindspot right now. We need to take him out, now, before he gets agitated enough to lash out. Shrink him, neck chop, whatever. The other 19 can handle the cage. Tape it up, put it on ice, Deku can chuck Uraraka at it to make it float, whatever.

Time is of the essence.

Clearer info, as Ushi sees it:

> You are atop a semi-collapsed building, the pit starts about about a dozen yards from were you are.

>The pit radius is about 22 yards.

>The pit is a hole, the cage is technically at ground level on a bit of street supported by a thin pillar, making it look like the pit was carved as a ring around the bit of material that now supports the cage.
>>
>>4360281
In that case I have a creative solution...

>Leap to the cage and grow it as much as you can!

This will:
A: Make the cage too big to fit into the hole, so it’s safe from falling.
B: Space everyone in the cage apart from each other, and
C: widen the bars enough to let Iida Reciproburst into the cage and kick the villain super fucking hard.

I like the creativity, but I have some concerns based on what we know so far.

1, too many unknowns. We have no idea what that guy's quirk is, and the second we pull anything we have to assume that our suspect will do everything he can to start hurting hostages. The distance might not be enough to protect them. Unless and until we know enough to ensure they can't be harmed, any action we take needs to include a way to neutralize the threat. If we really wanted to play it safe, we would want to nin nin our way into incapacitating the guy before he even knows we've acted. That gives the greatest chance of rendering this guy's quirk or any surprises he may have a non-factor.

Which brings me to 2, he has the advantage of a prepared location. Now, while he is being stalled, is our best chance to look to see if there's any concealed threats or contingencies. We don't have time to do any fine tooth comb stuff, but it's definitely worth a wary look or two.

Monolog man is apparently motivated by wanting to demonstrate superiority to UA students. He is evidently a schemer and a planner, so it would be unwise to leap before we look. Hell, the fact that he is content to stall and talk could be BECAUSE he is waiting for someone to try something first, just to revel in outsmarting a desperate, emotional kid with some trap.

Oh, and like someone brought up with people falling through a bigger cage, it goes without saying that anything we do must avoid unnecessary risk to the hostages. Precise, sneaky and sudden, that's the ticket.

Case the joint, then use a quirk assisted jump to get over the cage and drop in while tiny and land on the guy and knock em out or, as a last resort, maim/kill him.
>>
>>4360578
If you want to substitushi (jump while small) into the cage right now and get him, sure. But if we rely on him stopping in his tracks and starting to monologue again while we plan, huddle, or try to guess his quirk, he can at any point stop talking and start stabbing. Or he might just make good on the attack he’s making right now.

Growing the cage should knock him on his ass and move everyone apart, like growing the stage at the sports festival did. Plus it covers the big pit of gasoline.

I think it’s pretty reasonable to assume if there were holes in the bottom of the cage, it would have been mentioned. Not only that, but Momma wouldn’t be able to be standing and walking around on her hooves since grates are used to keep cows from walking over areas.
>>
>>4360604
That's not how hostage negotiation works. if he's not stabbing people, keeping him doing what he's doing means he likely won't start. unless we try something foolhardy and agitate him.
If you think he actually will start killing at any point, making it now, when everyone else on our side won't know what's happening when we try to go at it alone is the worst possible time
>>
>>4360615
The last thing we heard of him was

>As he goes to reach for his first victim

so I really seems like he’s actively about to start stabbing them.

Also, with hostage negotiations, the kidnapper uses the threat of hurting hostages to get what they actually want. Here, hurting the hostages is what he wants. There’s nothing to negotiate, unless you think he’ll buy that we can get him back into UA.
>>
>>4360622
>However, he also seems unable to shut up, responding to every taunt, remark or distraction, stopping to monologue at every chance… and your classmates seem to be amazing at all three of those things, as he's been talking for minutes and no one is any closer to dying.
we also know he's easily distractable and the conversation he was having reached it's end. If someone were to prompt him to speak more, we've explicitely noted he very likely will
>>
>>4360632
And because that’s just a hunch, right after that it was noted that it’s more important that he’s not looking in our direction right now.
>>
>>4360638
which also means he hasn't seen us so we can slip away to hide and plot, not that we should rush in all bullheaded
>>
>>4360647
If we do that then we’re betting their safety on a guy (who caged himself above a pit of gasoline and is waving a knife around) being predictable and nonviolent in response to kids he hates yelling at him the whole time we’re plotting.

>substitushi (jump while small
This is not substitushi, that would using the Ushi doll to replace ourselves in some action. It would be a leap strike with our quirk instead.

Things to neutralize:
-Villain directly threatening Parents (w/ Knife but could do the same -just with body for most except for Momma, GL with that Villain)
-Parents in danger from presence over to-be burning pit,
-the pillar by which they sit on will be collapsed as a last resort.
-Parents Immobilized in Cage.

What Ushi has available to her:
-Battle Suit w/ Grounding System + Cool-Neutral Coating
-Belt of Many Pouches (Presumably only mundane hardware this time around)
-Mesh Reinforced Gloves
-Blacknake Whip
Things we should have from prior equipment acquisitions:
-Black Reinforced Rope (Likely with the Belt)
-Comms System in horn cap (Off-limits per Villain demand)
-Ushi Doll

What Ushi knows:
-She is in Villain's Blindspot
-Classmates have eyes and ears on the scene.
-Villain is distractable and openly desires to respond and monologue.
-Villain has a committed plan of terror, to kill the parents, which any deviation from serves to only benefit you all. See prior knowledge point for synergy.
-Even if its not mentioned, the top and bottom surfaces of the cage via Ushi's perch.

What Ushi doesn't know:
-Villain quirk.
-The manner by which the pit is to be lit.
-Other potential threats
>>
>>4360732
There's a few plans that could happen with this, various level of "trust" in your classmates to assert success as well.

A- Contact classmates to keep distracting while you leverage your advantageous position to neutralize a threat.
i.Establish contact with Shoji, he already has sensory pickup directed your way. Discrete speaking should be enough and he can react openly by stamping his foot in frustration to confirm contact. Speaking while shrunk as >>4360237 suggests may work for this as well.
ii. Tell them to continue to distract the villain by trying to compromise with his goals, an exchange of student with parent, his re-enlistment into UA, anything to coerce him to further response.
iii. Ask about there being exterior threats and other details during. A shake of a head in disbelief would be enough.
iv. Enact the alpha strike via quirk-leap like >>4360285, or >>4360291 convey.

Honestly could do both in transferring mass from the villain to the cage as you subdue them. Depends on if the cage is large enough to slip through while your size is changed to fly in to take him down. As well as if the cage floor is suitable to bridge the moat or can even be large enough. The absence of one provides lenience to the other strike type I feel.

B- Act as Ace in the Hole, trust your classmates to neutralize the other threats once you have acted.
i.Continue to wait and listen, taking in the events as they unfold. Don't interfere if your classmates assert their own plan. If at any one time the villain commits completely to burning the pit, attacking a parent directly, or collapsing the pillar...
-a. Enlarge yourself and/or your cape and choke the fire with it before it really begins or eliminate whatever the catalyst is. Hooray for hero equipment
-b. Subdue the villain via leap strike at the last possible moment, trust your classmates to handle the other threats as they come.
-c. Enlarge yourself to hold up the cage from collapsing into the pit. This one kind of presumes only acting on the last resort so eh.

C- Red Herring, act AS the distraction for the rest of your classmates to come up with a plan
i-a.Be the one to question his demands/desires/commitment, this will turn him directly opposite to your classmates.
i-b. set up your Ushi doll as "you" while you are safely relocate to another position and call out to him. In the moment where they seeks out the origin of the voice they will target your dummy and not you for the next monologue, allowing you to still surprise attack afterward, regardless of if before or after your classmates plan.
>>
>>4360739
For my part,I prefer the mixed plan of.

>>Set up your Ushi doll as "you" while you are safely relocate to another position and call out to him. In the moment where they seeks out the origin of the voice they will target your dummy and not you for the next monologue, allowing you to still surprise attack afterward and to buy your classmates time for a plan.

>>Continue to wait and listen, taking in the events as they unfold. Don't interfere as your classmates assert their own plan. When some part of it fails, and the villain commits completely to burning the pit...

>>Enlarge yourself and/or your cape and choke the fire with it before it really begins or eliminate the catalsyt.

This way, the villain is already fully committed to reacting to your classmate's advances and you eliminate one of their counters immediately, putting them more on their back foot. This should have the cascade effect for Ushi and the rest to safely subdue the villain and save the parents.

How is this supposed to work? Shrink and sneak and plan but also grow huge and smother the fire? It seems like two conflicting courses of action.

Also I don’t know if Ushi knows how to throw her voice or if the guy will believe that the decoy is Ushi for longer than a second. If he realizes he’s been tricked he may lash out.
>>
>>4361785
And if it isn’t contradictory, how many actions is that? One to grow the doll out of our pocket (because it’s way too small right now in our teeny tiny belt), one to move undetected and one to grow and smother the fire (which hasn’t started yet) makes at least three. That means we need at least three pairs and have 0 reliable.
>>
>>4361796
They're not all at once. If he spends his turn talking then we can split it up. get 2 pairs now, 1 pair later or vice versa. Especially since the action at the end is a determined action based on what the other classmates do.

has the gist of it, it's sequential. The substitushi is even probably a safe iteration (whatever NO KNOWN side-effects may imply) since Ushi can take her ‘relative’ time to set up the doll and relocate as opposed to being a instantaneous fight counter with an opponent with eyes on her. Id like to imagine the doll would be posed pointing accusingly at the villain...

oh! Just remembered that “you wrap your cape around your neck, face”. Thats convenient for obscuring the lack of lipsmack from the doll and Ushi would not need to have it be up herself.

And focusing on the fire because of Ushi’s pyrophobia. In this way, Ushi will still do a timely decisive strike, focusing against something she would like to Really avoid, but also benefit her class as a whole. The risk is in hinging the immediate follow up both times on the classmates.

I'd rather get above the cage and drop in all sneaky like while too small to notice then land on target for an abrupt, decisive strike. But that's not an option.

If we are high up enough, we could make a paper plane or something then shrink to ride it over the spot we want to drop in. That'd probably be quieter than the thunderclaps Ushi would make from rapidly expanding and shrinking parts of herself to do crazy quirk jumps
>>
>>4362195
>thunderclaps
While valid usually, Ushi is speedy enough that it isn't an issue if we are gonna end up leaping.

Also kek:

Half a dozen ideas fly through your head as you try to stitch together a plan to save your Momma and all other parents.

Attacking him could stop it all, but also get him to stab a few people before he hits the ground, or detonate a hidden charge or whatever method he planned to use to collapse the pillar, so doing that's a no go.

Setting up a decoy and giving him a piece of your mind would almost certainly buy everyone some more time, but he may figure out something's fishy faster than you could coordinate a follow up.

You need to-

>"QUIT IT!" Uravity's desperate cry gets your head back in the game.

Holding his knife towards the burly man, the villain stops in his tracks to look at her, maybe to taunt her, maybe to pontificate, but certainly to start talking in her direction again.

>"Maybe… Maybe the parent of the loudest child's parent should be the first to die?" The villain says, pointing her knife at her. "Then you'd see things differently, in adequate resignation…"

...And that means he's once again turning his back on you.

You take a couple dozen steps back, making sure to leave a rubble-free runway as you do so.

>"Here goes nothin'" You mutter under your half-cape, crouching into a three point for half a second, then take off.

Of course you won't get much faster at your current, tiny size, but being as light as you are you don't need all that much momentum, tapping your thigh as you reach the edge of the roof for a final burst of speed, shooting yourself off the building, though the air, over the pit and into the cage, landing behind him with a roll and a sound no louder than a stomp or heavy step.

>"I said, silence!" The villain snaps, turning around with a wild slash, his reaction speed giving you just enough time to gasp in surprise as it loudly cuts the air feet above your head. "You may not believe it, but I hate repeating myself!"

>"It seems a tiny pest crawled her way over here… A shame, really." He says, backing away from you and pulling a small brass colored square from his belt, flipping it open to reveal it as a now lit lighter. "I had hoped to serve up individual dishes of suffering to each of you… But no matter. We will all dine together in hell!"

>"NO!" You hear your classmates cry, Creati, Deku, Ingenium and Shoto amongst the loudest.

And with that, he tosses the lighter over his shoulder, the stunningly resilient flame falling outside the cage, and towards the gasoline filled pit, making you realize what's about to happen. The moment the flame reaches the fumes within the pit, the explosion itself will shatter the pilar… cooking alive everyone within the cage. The thought alone is enough to chill you to the heartwood.

So you don't let it happen, slamming your tiny hands on the cage floor and putting everything you have into it, letting the tips of your fingers burn as you force your quirk to work as fast as you can to avoid the future fire, the mist covering the entire cage in the blink of an eye and expanding by several tons it with a deafening shriek of grinding, warping metal, crumbling concrete and the drowned out gasps of everyone in the cage as the cage floor expands in all directions, separating everyone's feets and hooves, sending everyone tumbling to the ground.

And with a loud clank! somewhere you allow yourself to sigh in relief, knowing that the lighter never made it to the pit.

"Take!..." You start shouting as you stand up, intending to boast about your feat… Then your legs just give up from under you as you black out for half a second, hearing your heartbeat in your ears and shaking in your boots.

...Yeah, large… Biggering quirk do that.

Nap, food. Yes. Not now, but yes.

When the bad guy hops to his boots, raising his knife, you aren't sure what to do.

>"Back ups to the back ups… There is no layer deeper than the self." He says, quickly looking around and spotting you. "You'll d-"

Then he receives a blurry, silvery shining shin to the back of the head.

>"Not another word!" Ingenium tells him, his engines spewing jets of blue flame as the villain is sent skipping through the now more spaced cage bars, bouncing on the ground every couple feet. "There's no valid excuse or explanation for what you've done!"

Kicking off the ground and rolling, the villain pulls another knife off his belt-

>"EAT SHIT!" Bakugo eloquently yells as he flies through the cage like a mad rocketeer, reaching the villain in no time and taking full advantage of there no longer being anyone to be collateral damage, blasting him with enough firepower to tear the knife off his gloved hands as he's sent tumbling once more. "Ain't so tough now, are ya? No longer having meatshields?!"

Then a trail of ice shoots across the cage floor and towards the villain, narrowly avoiding Bakugo and pinning the villain to the ground as a frozen pillar bursts from the ground, his feet and elbows trapped within the ice.

>"WATCH IT ICYHOT!" Bakugo yells, pissed at the ice going near him.

An eventful couple seconds, to be sure. And it only looks to be getting more exciting as every one of your classmates comes to form a barrier between the villain and their loved ones, prepared for any new tricks he might pull.

>"Are you alright?" Shoto then asks, picking your tiny shivering form the floor with his warm hand, then looks towards his sister who is looking at the incapacitated villain. "And you, Fuyumi?"

While his sister doesn't respond, you have no issue speaking your mind.

"Am hungry." You reply, then notice all the parents, all of them looking alarmed at the villain. "Oh, 's fine, Ah don't think he'll do much more…"

>"<Congratulations!> The exercise is over, I think." The villain says from his frozen pillory, shaking his hands.

>"SHUT THE FUCK UP!" Bakugo shouts at him, pointing at his head with his palm.

>"Wait. Whatever does that mean?" Creati asks, intrigued yet keeping her staff at the ready.

>"We need have to call the police and find Mr. Aizawa's body..." Shoto says, visibly scowling.

>"Over here." A familiar voice says, listlessly walking out from behind a pile of rubble, holding a clipboard. "Still alive, however."

"...What." You say, unsure if your hypoglycemic mind is just too foggy and made up something or your dead teacher did just show up, but the similar cries of surprise (give or take a few expletives) from your classmates reassure you it's not just you.

>"Excellent work, everyone." Mr. Aizawa says as approaches. "Quite the convincing performance."

>"Is he gonna be okay?" Your momma worriedly asks, pointing at the villain.

>"Don't worry, we picked him and the suit knowing this could happen, he is okay." Mr. Aizawa tells her, waving it off. "They believed their families were in danger, we were prepared for worse. Once again, great performance."

>"Aw, shucks, it was a pleasure to rehearse with y'all!" Your momma comments, her tail waving too easily for someone coming out of mortal peril. "Ah don't have all that much to do anyways…"

>"Yeah, it wouldn't 'ave been the same without your coachin', teach!" The burly brown haired man says with a chuckle and a bright smile.

>"I for one am glad it was over quickly." Mrs. Yaoyorozu says with a sigh, pulling a handkerchief and cleaning her face. "It was getting nerve-wracking."

As they all start talking about staying in character and how everyone played their part, you no longer feel as tired, hopping off Shoto's hand and returning to your normal size with a small clap.

"Sir, was this all a setup?" You blankly, bluntly ask amidst the confusion.

>"Yes." He answers, as blasé as ever. "A scheduled high stakes test, to be precise."

As your friends start voicing their own concerns, you feel a headache coming, along with a new rush of adrenaline and anger.

While I would love to go all out, but
>>[Demand an explanation. "Why? You told All Might his mock attack was a bad idea… Ah thought you'd know better! Ah trusted you!"]
is really well suiting for Ushi in this situation. The only thing I could hope to add would be something like:

>“At what point are ya just teachin’ us that any bad situation is just a ruse to test us and not the real deal?!?! Don’t tell me yall haven’t got a version of the child story “the boy who cried wolf”! Our parents could have really gotten hurt out there...is everyone okay after that tumble by the way?

This is a genuine question, but why all the votes for staying relatively calm?

After all, Ushi just went from seeing her Momma and everyone else's parents in danger to nearly preventing an "explosion" to finding out it was an exercise?

Personally, I find it weird not to get furious, especially with how much Ushi loves her Momma and how much whiplash just happened within the last few minutes. So, I just wanna know everyone else's reasoning for voting otherwise.

Also this is like the second or so time a fake attack has happened.

Came back from a meal and was looking to switch over because the prior vote was calling upon recollection that wouldn’t be there for woozy Ushi. Another sentiment being that Aizawa’s takeaway (+everyone else really) from Ushi’s response needs to be a note of “Protective of Family” with multiple underlines and circles, no room for interpretation.
Glad to see consensus on the trust thing.

No, and I voted as such. But pointing out the issues with this scenario didn't win, so I went with a different vote.

No, but it's super warranted given how Ushi went through a traumatic experience and then U.A. decided to fake two experiences soon after that real one.

On a COMPLETELY unrelated note: I wonder if it's possible to enlarge or shrink someone's bones separate from the rest of them.

Could already get into some pretty horrific stuff with making someone's hands or feet a different size. But, for some reason, I have been inspired to come up with even more awful uses of our quirk.
>>
>>4367497
I got some fucked shit we could do. Enlarge someone's skin until they suffocate in their own flesh. Do opposite and shrink some one's skin and not the rest of their body making it rip off. Enlarging someone's head until in becomes so large that it crushes their torso. Shrinking someone's torso so their heart becomes too small to pump blood and their lungs are too small to breathe.

Argument I could think coming from Aizawa: "That's understandable, Walker, but this exercise wasn't for you, personally."
Case in point: The Grape. Despite USJ he doesn't seem to be taking this seriously
As an exercise, its a wake up call to the students saying its not just you who could be in danger. Other people, potentially people you care about, can and will get caught in the crossfire.

It'll probably be more effective, large-scale, on 1-B since they didn't have a wake up scenario like the USJ invasion. Solidify their resolve or cull the weak-willed.

You know it's nonsense, but you are starting to feel like all the gasoline fumes you are breathing are igniting within, because you can't recall the last time you felt your blood boil like this.

"A test? After the U.S.J. attack? After All Might's stunt!?" You ask your teacher, stomping towards him, not giving him any time to answer to your barrage of inquiries. You aren't really looking for answers, but angry at what he just did and the school that allows it. "<WHAT'S WRONG WITH Y'ALL!? FUCK IT! WAS THE LEAGUE MADE UP TOO!? SHOULD AH EXPECT Y'ALL TO SET UP A BOMB TOO!?> AH… AH TRUSTED YOU!"

While most of the parents and many of your classmates look shook at your outburst, Aizawa himself doesn't seem all that bothered by your stomping nor the visible steam huffing out of your nose.

>"Hmm…" He hums, seemingly unbothered by your outrage. "Do you no longer trust me, then?"

"NO!-Ah mean yes… AH DUNNO!" You scream, redfaced. "...ALL MIGHT PULLED THIS SAME SHIT LAST TIME, AND YOU CALLED HIM OUT ON THAT! AH THOUGHT YOU KNEW WHAT YOU WERE DOIN'! AND THEN… AND THEN YOU DO IT TOO!?"

Your momma looks aghast, whether it's due to your swearing or your reaction itself you don't know, but you don't particularly care either.

>"That's the U.A. method, Walker. Teachers have the freedom to use whatever methods they believe would achieve their." He explains, unmoved.

"<HOW!?>" You start, then pull yourself together a bit and return to Japanese. "-HOW WAS THAT THE CORRECT METHOD!? HOW WAS THAT EVEN A GOOD IDEA!? WHAT'S THE LESSON HERE!? SLEEP WITH A GUN UNDER YOUR PILLOW!? EXPECT DEATHLY THREATS AT EVERY CORNER!? PREPARE TO FIND YOUR FAMILY IN A FRIDGE!?"

>"Is that what you got from this exercise?" He asks, then posits another question. "Is that what you feel?"

"YOU TRIED TO DANGLE MAH MOMMA OVER A FIRE PIT!" You continue, starting to run out of breath. "WHAT AM AH SUPPOSED TO FEEL!? TELL ME!"

>"Anger, pride and or relief, or any combination of those, now that the ruse has been revealed." He answers then asks another question. "But what did you feel before that? When your mother was in danger and the threat of losing her loomed over? Fear? Rage?"

He then looks at all around you, overlooking the parents and focusing on the students.

>"All Might's exercise was foolish, accomplishing nothing but tearing healing wounds open." He says, frustration seeping into his voice, then sighing before continuing. "But today's exercise was scheduled for a reason…Two reasons in fact. The Parents' Day exercise is meant to expose you to the emotional stress of fighting for the life of someone dear to you, and the turbulent emotions this causes, something you need to be able to withstand to be a Hero. No amount of strength, skill or knowledge can guarantee a successful rescue if you allow your emotions to cloud your judgement."

You are no less mad, but now you start feeling… dread, too. Did you just punt the test? Was it not bad enough already!?
>>
>"The other reason, the flipside to all this, is to remind you of what lies under those costumes. People." Your teacher continues, explaining without sounding condescending. "This time it was your parent's in a controlled environment, but tomorrow it may be someone's else's mother threatened with a knife, with her own family waiting for her to come home. You are here to save people, not just defeat evil. Never forget that."

"...Keep a cool head?" You mutter, grinding your teeth. "...Did Ah fail, then?"

>"No, kid. You kept a cool head when it mattered." He says, turning to look away, seemingly at the school main building. "Always feel free to rage, cry, drink and dwell on what ifs after all is over. Heavens know that's another skill you'll need."

Not satisfied, you open your mouth again, too mad to shut up even if you can't quite come up with something to say yet.

But a hug from behind distracts you, the warm embrace of your momma and how you are running on fumes almost putting you to sleep immediately, were it not for her bell poking the back of your head.

>"Ya did great, hun." She says, combing your hair with her fingers. "Sorry for makin' ya worry, but it was to help ya out…"

>What do you do?

Supporting, with willingness to take whatever Momma shoves into your mouth to not pass out.

Ushi already has a history of keeping steady during the "danger" and then following it with emotional release to some degree in lots of situations.

>Waiting for Iida to affirm "that's it"at Zooland and relaxing in his presence thereafter
>Waiting for to act out her stress at the junkyard following the prior day's sexual harassment bullshit.
>Mentally berating herself over how she 'ran out' from the hospital visit after feeling embarrassed & trying to hide it as much as possible
etc, etc with the more pertinent
>keeping her cool until she literally passes out and reawakens to cry with Momma following the USJ attack

This time is just in regards to an element that Ushi holds very dear so the emotional switch, possibly further coerced by Aizawa's words, would come on sooner/more easily. As it stands, Ushi should not have a failing mark on the exercise. She emotionally exposes herself to her peers but yeah, welcome to being 16.

Tense, red-faced and mad, and woozy, cold and shaken, you can only accept her comforting embrace and kind words.

>"Ah don't know much about these hero things, but with U.A. being the best school in the country… Sorry for making you feel this way." She continues, scratching the back of your ear in that oh-so relaxing spot that have never been able to reach on your own. "You won, hun! You took the lead and broke a path for your friends! You should be celebratin'!... Not hurtin'..."

"Ah know you’d do anythin’ for me." You tell her, turning around to return the hug and try to hide the tears pooling at your eyes. "It’s just so... wrong, that someone would use that to put ya in danger ’Specially somebody who’s supposed to keep you safe...”

You can't see much of what anyone else is doing, but it seems everyone is having a similar moment with their parents…

Except for Bakugo and Shoto, the later for obvious reasons, while the former-

>"WHY IS YOUR MOUTH SO FILTHY YOU CRETIN!?" Bakugo's mom yells.

>"I LEARNT IT FROM THE BEST, HAG!" He replies.

>"We are done here." Mr. Aizawa then says, turning towards the entrance of the mock city and the bus stop. "If you would all go to the buses…"

You are pretty sure he said some more stuff, but your brain decided that it was less important than dying. At least, that's how you explain to yourself waking up hours later at Recovery Girl's with a honeystick dripping in your mouth and your momma by your side.

"Did ya?..." You mutter, feeling like your head is full of cobwebs, but still sure that you haven't seeing such a snack being given out by the school nurse.

>"'yuup. Always." Your momma answers, raising a resealable bag of candy from her bag without missing a beat, then putting it back. "You used to knock yourself out this way back in Texas too as a lil' one… And last year."

You take a second to grab the honeystick and suck it dry, eager to regain your energy with the second most sugary thing you know of, short of stealing the molasses rations back at the ranch.

"Gotta give it your all, right?" You tell her while stretching and sitting on what by now feels like your second bed. "Did ya… Uh… Enjoy the tour? Was there even a tour?"

>"Yeah, it's… Uh… a pretty school?" She tells you, her tail nervously wagging behind her. "Really nice. Really! Just… Ah felt like Ah was stickin' out like a sore thumb. So Ah came back to wait for you to take you home."

"Tin first." You say, keeping your loved ones in mind even with said mind in power-saving mode.

Hours later, when you go to bed, you think of your growing frustrations with the school, twisting your blanket between your hands…

But looking at the shining red eye over your desk, of Tiny Tin organizing stamps, you sigh and let the innocent fabric go.

There are some issues, both in U.A. and the world at large… But that's why you are here, trying to become the hero you wish to see, one big enough to warp the world around her.

Just trying to move things a bit faster, but Ushi is starting to have clear and vocal resentment about how the school runs things and their responsibility in things.
Talking with the councelor or asking to talk with the principal are also options.
Write ins are limitless. (When early)
>>
>>4371033
No it's Aizawa side-stepped being called out on the fact that he deliberately undermined the shit with AllMight and how Ushi no longer feels safe here. Instead all he says is that he wanted to check if they're calm under pressure which they should know from either the work place stuff, the attack at USJ where the lack of safety came from in the first place.

This was a shitty thing to do and nothing good came of it but apparently this is normal? If Lord Explosion Murder gets kidnapped they honestly deserve to get shit canned.

Like I said, maybe you find this sort of thing exciting. I don't. I enjoy being able to have these sorts of encounters as someone controlling the QMC. It allows plans to be made, fights to occur, and honestly it's a lot more interesting to me than spa days and junkyard smashing all the time.

Mic just said that he has taken the resentment into account on Ushi's character, so I trust him to handle 5 posts of verbal gymnastics with the principal or counselor off-screen, rather than forcing us to stall even more with voting on conversation options when it comes to something that would just boil down to complaining.

I'm not interested in switching schools, and it would be incredibly taxing on the QM to create an OC school, with OC characters, and no basic plot outlines while still keeping people interested. Doing it because of the plot convenience that is "things go wrong with the class the MC is in" is an overreaction and sort of runs counter to the aim of collaborative fiction.

Part of what I enjoy is seeing how Ushi influences canon characters, completely pivoting to a new school will hamper that, and I would enjoy the quest less if by some miracle you managed to get any traction on the idea. Because I think most people are in a similar boat to me.
>>
>>4371025
>[Skip to the last week before Final Exams.]
>>
>>4371048
My point was that it shouldn't have been a test by the teachers. I like the fights and stuff but just doubling down on the teachers being shitty is dumb. Mic said that our resentment is clear but does that mean the teachers will act on it?

I don't want to switch schools but if in character the teachers never admit oops that was a bad idea then the fuck is the point? This is Ippo levels of shitty training.

>>[Skip to the next special training exercise, a team survival course with guests from Isamu Academy.]

Isn’t this the thing PM has had plans for, for quite a while?
>>
>>4371054
The point is that Ushi's only friends are in the school, the first people who actually showed her human decency outside her family really. Maybe you forgot that, it has been some time since it was mentioned.

Like real people don't stick with a subpar school because it is acclaimed and the name will provide benefits in the future? Or they don't stick with poor schools because they have friends there? There are plenty of ways to justify this IC that make sense. And it doesn't create any more work for the QM.
>>
>>4371062
Fucking. Ok the point is In-character you with me? In character if the teachers pull something shitty and we get mad and call them out. Nothing happens. I'm annoyed that this keeps happening.

I want the QM to make it so that if something shitty happens then we can call them on it and have it stick.

I wanted to do the whole threaten to leave the school because why bother showing up here when we learned more from Edgeshot without being fed bullshit.

I want the teachers to not be cunts.
>>
>>4371067
you did not read the update it seems, he explained his thinking, his intentions and even momma explained why she did it.
of course Ushi was pissed, but that was half the intention of the exercise.
Just because we didn't like it doesn't mean the school is suddenly the wrong one.
Ushi and Aizawa don't have to be on the same page for this, stop your drama.
>>
>>4371067
You're assuming nothing happens because we're not devoting whole updates to it. I'm fairly certain things will happen, given how poorly this exercise went.

You should have phrased it as threatening to change schools, which is a lot different to actually doing it. Assuming you actually meant to say that from the start, which I frankly don't think you did

Speaking from an IC perspective, I don't think Ushi would leave the school unless her friends were going to as well. Whether the teachers would know this is up in the air, so a threat isn't stupid, but even entertaining following through with it is pants-on-head in my eyes, both IC and OOC.

Actually, in the manga, they revealed that he kinda didn't just expell an entire class, when he and Present Mic went to see Kurogiri in jail.
He expelled them all, then reapplied them under a new homeroom teacher as a kick in the pants. I believe they show some of the "victims" thank him for it.

Id like to point out depending on the day that this could directly preceding/following/coinciding with Pony/Bakugo’/ Birthdays. While they could have been passed over simply enough in other circumstances, the weight given to both of the characters interactions seems like something we should at least get a summary of.

Closed! Time to write and fix wrongs!

As eventful days pass and the week rolls over to the next Wednesday, you find yourself once again reviewing the Homeroom notes Mr. Aizawa left for you before the start of class along with an explaination of the extra seats present in the room.

"Huh. Survival Training…" You practically spit out the words, following it up with a dry chuckle. "Who do ya think will try to kill us this time? Teacher or Contractor? All Might again? Maybe Aizawa will do it himself this time! C'mon sugah, Ah'm takin' bets!"

Your fellow class representative doesn't find it funny however, sighing instead.

>"...You should let that go." Momo tells you, looking up from her own stack of papers, her expression more sad than serious. "The lesson taught was clear enough, even if the exercise… left much to be desired."

"You are bein' mighty generous there, sugah." You tell her, trying to reign back your disdain, as most of it is not meant for her.

>"Well… He made up for it with the special exhibition visit at the museum, didn't he? Carrot and stick, like he said." She offers. "And I know I saw you having fun around the American Hero History exhibit with Midoriya and the guide. Remember that Aizawa got them to bring the ancient materials for us to see."

That is true. You were allowed to examine original costumes of ancient vigilantes and the improvised gadgets that were the tools of the trade back in their day as well as the vintage comics that inspired them to take up the cowl and stand up to evil, forsaking their own safety to uphold their ideals of justice.

The exhibits also went into great detail of how The Hero Network and the Hero Public Safety Commission came to be, one protecting heroes from lawsuits, the other to protect the public from any hero that would abuse their power.

From the tales of armored vigilantes operating outside the law to the current age of the sponsored hero, the guide told the class about it all with suspicious ease. It was not only her deep knowledge of the things she spoke about, seemingly firsthand, that piqued your curiosity, but also how young she looked despite the faded scars over her face and hands.

She never furrowed her brow, never grimaced, never smiled while you were there, but that's hardly enough to explain her age, or lack thereof. For all she taught you about the Hero world, the only thing you learned about her in particular was that she was an European hero, and when Mr. Aizawa told you all to thank “Firefly” as you departed, neither you nor Deku recognized the name.

"...Not gonna bring up the Japanese Hero History hall?" You retort back at her to derail the conversation. Despite your best efforts, you shudder again at the memory of the latter half of the day.

While you now know the socio-historical conditions that led to The Rapeman being published, you nonetheless wish you hadn’t.

>"...Some things should have been left unrecovered." She agrees, shaking her head.

"Besides that... unholy book, Ah'm still not sure that thing with the flippin' clown wasn't an exercise planned by the school." You say, trying really hard to not think about his quirk’s effect on you.

>"Do you truly think they would get someone arrested for an exercise, Ushi?" Momo asks, almost making you think about it.

"After what he did, Ah just hope the guy rots in hell." You tell her, hugging yourself.

>"...You looked cute though." She says, smirking and raising her eyebrows.

And that does it, it makes you think about the damn clown that ran into you and your classmates as he tried to escape from… You never bothered to ask what his crime was, but he illegally used his quirk on you, Mr. Aizawa and some of your classmates in an attempt to slip away in the chaos.

If not for the murder attempt by The League at U.S.J. spending those minutes as a boy would have certainly been the most stressful moments in your life, and you didn't even get your quirk flipped like almost everyone else. Thank goodness for symmetrical quirk traits.

You still don't feel bad about the beating Uraraka gave him before Mr… Ms... before your homeroom teacher forced him to return you all to normal. You also added to your list of grievances with Mineta the fact that the little gremling asked the teacher to consider not fixing it and maintaining the class as an even male/female split, even if he said afterwards he was joking.

"...Shut up." You say after a couple seconds of flustered silence. "Ah'm thankful that he fixed that, but that doesn't mean Ah have to forgive him or U.A. for those previous stunts. It just means the <coulrophobes> were right!"

>"If not with time, nor gestures, will you ever let it go?" She asks, putting down her papers to focus exclusively on you.

"How 'bout change? Or an admission' of wrongdoin'?" You tell her without missing a beat, ready with your demands.

You are somewhat thankful when the bell rings and Mr. Aizawa shows up for Homeroom and you can return to your seat, noticing how he left the door open.

>"All I'm saying is that undoing ‘the balance’ was a mistake." Mineta tells Denki as your teacher approaches his desk without hurry. "Like, you saw his mom! Tell me Bakugo wouldn't be better off as a girl!"

>"...Not touching that." Denki replies, looking like he was just about to dive for cover.

>"YOU'D BE BETTER OFF AS AN EUNUCH!" Bakugo barks back, almost jumping from his chair.

"...Ah mean, yeah." You say, and while most boys cringe at the idea, almost every girl agrees, except for Tsuyu, who doesn't seem to disagree either.

>"If that amount of horny-horny was redirected, we could be on Mars in like a decade!" Mina loudly theorizes.

>"Amount of what?" Kirishima foolishly asks.

>"Horny-horny. Dude's like horny squared or something." She clarifies. "Deff not normal."

>"Silence." Mr. Aizawa utters, and everyone shuts up, then he motions at the door and four kids enter. "This might seem a little sudden, but we'll have guests today."

While this jumpstarts a round of chatter about who they might be, Mineta's voice rings the loudest for you.

>"Let it be girls, let it be girls, let it be girls!" Mineta pleads, as despicable as always.

Before you can tell him off, Mr. Aizawa sweeps the room with a glare, getting everyone to sit still and quiet without having to say anything.

>"Four Hero-class students from Isami High School will sit in with you today." The bedraggled teacher says, taking a second to glare at everyone in the room. "I want you to take care of them, allow them to participate in class and treat them like any of your classmates, even during the Foundational Hero Studies training session later today."

>"That explains the extra desks, then." Deku muses out loud. "This is an invaluable chance to compare notes and learning tips with fellow heroes in train- I'll be quiet now…"

Once more, Mr. Aizawa's withering gaze gets the room silent without any quirk or voice usage.

>"As our representatives, we will do our best to ensure they can seamlessly integrate into U.A. Class 1-A." Momo says, standing up and prompting you to do the same.

"Ah reckon they'll be part of the class in no time!" You add with a smile that's only slightly forced. It's just a small group of people amongst your friends, you can handle that.

Once everyone settles down, he gestures towards the door and four… three? No definitely four students enter the classroom, it's just that one hides behind the one of the others as they enter and stand before the class room.

The first one is a short and somewhat fat looking boy with chestnut hair, a broad build and large hands, sporting a sheepish, nervous expression.

The second entered with his hands in his pockets, shirt untucked, pants a tad too low, unkempt messy bluish-gray hair and a grimace on his face. A breach of decorum that would shock you if it wasn't how Bakugo entered the classroom every day but the one after internships. The most notable thing after the attitude is how you can't quite tell how tall he is with the way he slouches.

After the boys comes a silver-haired girl, demurely holding her hands together in a perfect compliment to her serene smile, triangular glasses and bowtie, giving her a calm and collected look.

Literally behind her, is… You don't know, it's behind the other girl, but you can tell she's wearing a skirt, so it should be a girl.

All of them are wearing their school uniform, dark blue blazers, red ties or bowties, white dress shirts and gray pants or skirts.

>"WELCOME!" All of you shout, throwing hands and fists up in the air.

>"She's a glasses girl!" Mineta spoils the moment, grabbing poor Deku's shoulder and shaking him. "A sexy librarian kind of girl, you know what that means!?"

>"...That you are getting too excited?" The green haired boy answers as he's shaken like a long blade of grass on the wind.

While Momo and you both are shook by this terrible first impression, the silver-haired girl looks just shook in general at Mineta's comments.

>"Don't mind Mineta, he just runs his mouth too much!" Denki tells her, approaching her with his phone in hand. "Now since we'll have to show you this enormous place, why don't you give me your number so we can keep in touch?"

You share a glance with Momo, nod and leap to try to salvage the situation.

"Sorry 'bout them sugah!" You tell her with a sheepish smile and a short bow, lifting Denki by the collar of his jacket and taking him back to his desk like a misbehaving kitten, much to Kirishima and Sero's amusement.

>"Way to make us look bad, moron." Kyoka quips, never missing a chance to take a jab at Denki in particular.

>"Indeed, sorry for this first impression! I'm Yaoyorozu Momo, my friend and fellow class representative is Walker Ushi, if there's anything you might need help with, just ask!" Momo apologizes with a deeper, more practiced bow. "Welcome to our classroom!... I promise it gets better."

>"Now, introduce yourselves." Your teacher orders the Isami students.

>"R-right!" The silver-haired girl starts, pulling herself back together. "We are students of Isami High School, first year of the Hero Class and we'll be your classmates for the day. I'm Sekigai Kashiko."

>"U-uhm. I'm from the same class.. I'm Tadan Dadan." The short boy introduces himself as he wipes sweat from his face with a handkerchief, giving a deep submissive bow. "Pleasure to meet you."

>"Fujimi." Is all the slouching grouch says, or rather scoffs as he glares at everyone that looks at him.

>"...Can the fourth one come forward?" Aizawa then asks, as the last student remains hidden behind Sekigai's hair.

After he asks, the last girl comes out from hiding, her fluffy red hair being the third thing to catch your attention, right after Tsuyu's gasp and the fact that she looks like a human-sized snake with great hair.

>"Ribbit?!"

>"Oh!?"

>"RIBBIT!?"

>"OH!?"

And just like that, the snake headed girl and Tsuyu run at each other and into a hug.

>"Habuko!" Tsuyu says, making you assume that's her name.

>"Tsuyu!" This Habuko girl replies, squeezing the smaller frog girl.

>"A friend of Tsuyu?" Uraraka posits, but you believe you know a bit more.

"Ah reckon she told us 'bout somethin' like this a while ago." You tell her, recalling your talks about mutantkind. "She said she had problems makin' friends, thanks to her froggyness, but made a friend whose mutations made her have an even harder time! This must be it!"

>"Doesn't this make you nervous?" Deku asks, sweating and biting his nails. "This shouldn't happen in nature…"

"Pal." You say, commanding his attention as seriously as you can. "Those are two gals. There are no frogs or snakes here."

>"...Sorry?" He offers, more confused than sorry.

"Ah'm not buyin' it." You shoot back, crossing your arms.

>"Hey, why don't you just leave him alone and go help them get seated or something?" Uraraka says, placing a hand on your shoulder and trying to gently push you away.

It doesn't work.

>"Mongoose!" Fujimi yells from the front of the class. "Don't get all friendly with the U.A. circus."

>"WHAT DIDYA JUST SAY, YOU SHI- ASSHOLE.!?" Bakugo starts, restraining himself and not going with his first insult.

>"See? They need you." Uraraka continues, failing to move you.

>"Kacchan, stop it!" Deku tries to calm down his childhood friend, with the usual result.

>"SHUT UP YOU FUCKING NERD!" Bakugo screams at him, angrier than before Deku interjected.

>"Why don't you shut up first?" Mr. Aizawa tells him, daring him with his eyes to try and swear at him, and you are almost sure Bakugo almost chokes on his own tongue as he swallows his words.

>"...Is it always like this?" Sekigai asks, worriedly looking at your classmates.

>"No!... Not quite. It's usually less than this." Momo tries to reassure her. "It's… Interesting! Never a boring break, yes!"

It takes a couple more minutes to get everything sorted and them seated, but the actual classes pass without much difference from normal, other than now having to compete with Sekigai to raise your hand and answer questions, or having to endure Fujimi's way of responding to everything with an insult, as both Tadan and Mongoose both seem to try to avoid being in the spotlight.

So when lunch break arrives, you wonder where to sit today, if with Shoto and his friends featuring Kirishima and Mina for some reason, or Tsuyu, Momo and the Isami students or-

"Uh?" You mutter, holding your tray with one hand and taking out your phone with the other. "What now?"

short update on possible birthdays:
Present mic said on the discord its April the 21st in quest

Pony's birthday is the 21st of april, so that is probably what 1B is about
Bakugous birthday was the 20th of april, so thats probably what deku's message was about

not that Ushi necessarily knows any of this : /

I'm surprised that Deku is weirded out by a girl with a snake for a head when he was nearly sock puppeted by a mass of living sludge. That is normal when compared to washing machine with arms and legs. Some of the background UA students have some of the most fucked up mutations in the entire series, a guy who is basically a human sized Deredeo Pattern Dreadnought with 4 ballistic where the shoulders of a normal human would be. For fucks sake there was a guy who's head consisted of a lego flesh brick with an eye on it. For fucks sake he didn't even have a mouth! How does he eat?! How is something like that even survive?! Then there was that guy with an umbrella face. I don't even want to think about what using the opening the mechanism would do.

It's… Well, you know it's not that strange to have two or more people share a birthday in a room, so it would be even more likely across two classrooms. Even more so if it happens sometime this week rather than exactly today.

Just starting to get used to having friends and there being friend’s parties to plan and attend though, it sure feels weird.

You think you know whose birthday Itsuka wants your help with, and it's not an occasion you can ignore… But you can't blow off Deku's invitation either. His comment bothered you a bit, but you wouldn't just say no to helping…

You take your tray to the table with your Class 1-B friends, Itsuka, Monoma, Tetsutetsu... and Tokage.

"Ya'll know she's a massive weeb, right?" You say as you take a seat, looking at the other students at the table. Ibara, a boy with a speech bubble for a head as well as a brown haired girl you aren't sure you've met before are here this time too. "She won't forget this, so it has to be great!"

>"It'd do us well not to speak ill of her." Ibara says, clutching her hands together. "We are here to celebrate dear Tsunotori's life, not bersmich her good name."

>"...She's 16, not dead." The boy with the speech bubble head says, conjuring the image of a crossed out glue bottle. "But yeah Walker, we know. First japanese birthday, gotta make it special."

"Yeah!" You enthusiastically ascert, holding a finger up looking at him and the other girl. "And y'all are…?"

>"...Komori." The brown-haired girl says, looking down in such a way her eyes remain fully out of your sight. It'd be cute, but something about her chills you to the heartwood.

>"Komori Kinoko! She's… working on that confidence." The yet to be named boy says, spelling out the girl's name in his speech bubble, then his own. "And I'm Fukidashi Manga. Yep. Like that. Pony's best friend and the one lending her half her current read list."

>"That's being useful." Monoma comments, getting a soft smack in the back of the head. "What? I'm right!"

>"We all know she's nice, that's why we are trying to do something special for her." Itsuka says, crossing her arms. "No need to try and turn this into a slapfight."

You almost bring up how she was the only one throwing hands, but you think better about it.

>"Yeah! Now… What do we do!?" Tetsutetsu asks, slamming a fist on the table and forcing you to catch your spork midair. When you look at him, he sighs. "...Sorry, we've been trying to figure this out since Monday. Her birthday is today and we are all still clueless."

>"...Sorry. I've been penning down some ideas… but I don't think that’s gonna work…" Komori says sliding a notepad onto the table, still looking down. "So yeah… Sorry for offering..."

"Okay… Anyone wanna fill me in?" You say, cluelessly looking around.

>"Dear Komori offered to host Tsunotori's party." Ibara explains. "But without an actual party to host, it looks hopeless…"

"So, what do you have?" You ask Komori, snatching the notepad off the table. "Let's see!"

>"Wait don't!" She says, trying and failing to stop you, her flailing too slow to even touch you. "It's not good…"

While she wasn't able to physically stop you, you put the notepad back down on the table after seeing her discomfort.

You think she could use some dragging into the spotlight to build up her confidence but you don't know her enough to be sure, so you don't push her.

>"Why don't you let her take a look?" Itsuka says, seemingly trying to encourage her. "You've worked so hard on it, I can't believe it's at all bad."

>"..." Komori seems to think about it for a couple seconds, then slowly nods.

Now with consent, you hum with curiosity while flipping to the last page pass several dozen pages of eerily well drawn mushrooms and the frilliest dress designs you've seen. Scribbles and lines of struck-out text cover the final page, from boats to arcade cabinets to microphones including what looks to be a doodle of a shrine. It ends at three huge question marks on the corner of the page, surrounded by some shaky script.

Old Japan? New Japan? Shibuya?’, it states, followed by a set of tiny doodles of landmarks as well as a list titled A bit of all? Landmark tour route?

It looks almost insane, but the route traced between Tokyo Bay, a boat doodle, the Arcade Amusement Park, then the Shinjuku Batting Center, then to an unspecified karaoke bar and then to Tokyo Tower does look workable, though fairly ambitious. If you recall correctly, the massive arcade park and the batting center are near the ancient tower, which itself is near the bay…

"You've certainly been workin' on it." You tell the eerie girl with an encouraging smile.

>"You know, Golden Week starts next weekend…" Tokage mentions with a sly grin that reminds you far too much of your older cousin. "That means the weirder cafes open~ You know Pony would like a Macho Cafe."

"Oh, shu-" You start, but Fukidashi speaks up first.

>"Yeah, but not in a group." He says, his face showing the english characters 'BL&ML'. "...I think."

>"...What?" Tetsutetsu asks without a hint of his usual boisterous bravado, just confusion.

>"Vile seeds of temptation." Ibara laments, then glares daggers at Fukidashi. "Speak no more of that, smut peddler."

>"W-well, Tsunotori's always been fascinated by the stranger parts of Japanese media." Monoma comments, trying and failing to look nonchalant. "Perhaps we can do something related to some other interests of hers?"

>"Told ya, I know what she reads." Fukidashi smugly says, ignoring Ibara and crossing his arms. "I mean, she does read a lot of normal shojo too, but that doesn't really tell me much. She likes ninjas, I guess."

>"OKAY! How about we all chill for a minute?" Itsuka exclaims, determined to not let things escalate.

Noticing the lull in conversation, you take out your phone and send a quick text back to Deku.

"Busy with Pony's, but keep me updated. I might still be able to lend a hand!" You send, then pocket your phone and return your attention to the table, thinking about what you can do to help.

You have an in with a certain toymaker... Maybe you could have him do a custom job? For a character that never had a toy made of them perhaps... Do they know of anything that would fit the bill?

I think that would be better as our present than a party. Though, a tour of his workplace might be an interesting thing to arrange?

Quick recap?

We're an American cowgirl transfer student, but how far into the plot have we gone? What class are we in? Any interesting divergences?

>How far?
Mid-first term. In terms of the anime, literally going through the training of the dead with some OC thrown in based on timing (April Birthdays)
>Wait, isn't that-
The timeline is skewed in qst, much in the same way its skewed to have a Cow-girl transfer student take part in UA entry exam instead of a certain tailed person. It has not hindered too much at all yet. imo....
>What class
1-A, we are for certain in top 10 cumulatively and leader in a few categories. How so? Well that one I would actually say see the archives for some hype stuff.
>Interesting divergeces
Ill lay out one major one and one personal one I have enjoyed see developed:
a.The rankings at the Sports festival were vastly different across all events leading to different match-ups and outcomes.
b.Pony plays a much larger and more developed role in quest. Thus this latest thread.
>>
>>4380861
A lot of divergences aren’t super explicit. Deku and Bakugo fought in the sports festival and that’s sure to change the tenor of their relationship. Classes A and B are a bit closer.

While the main takeaway you get from her notepad is that she's one of the best doodle artists you've seen, her ideas aren't half bad, it's just that there is… Just too many.

"There are some good ideas here! Just gotta trim the list down from these here five, there's like, almost as much time spent walkin' between the fun stuff as we'd spend doin' the stuff itself." You tell her, handing her back the notepad. "That, and she's got to rock out doin' karaoke at mah birthday party. So, better scratch that one and try sumthin' new!"

>"I guess so…" The brown haired girl mutter, taking out a pen and striking out a line on the page.

>"You all know my suggestion." Tokage says, giving her input despite no one asking for it. "I assure you, she's not done that yet!"

>"...The weird Cafe?" Monoma asks, scoffing. "Have you considered that maybe she's not gone to one because she simply doesn't want to?"

>"Pff, nah, she just never seen one." Tokage replies, shrugging Monoma's comment off and effortlessly outsmugging him. "It's right up her alley… Really, I thought you'd know."

>"Okay then! Maybe cut it down to… Three? Three sounds good." Itsuka intervenes, trying to get everyone to focus on the topic at hand. "...Now, what would that be?"

Hearing that, Komori flips the page to a new one, starting to doodle as she speaks.

>"Well, I was thinking about starting with a teatime cruise on Tokyo Bay." She says, drawing a boat, then an arrow pointing down as she tries to continue, but her hand stays still for a second before splitting the arrow into two, then has them converge on a doodle of Tokyo Tower. "Then there's the Joypolis Arcade Park, which, uh… I've heard it gets more exciting after sundown, without little kids. Or maybe the Batting Cages? I wanted to end it with a night time view of Japan from Tokyo Tower though… It's an iconic landmark, I think she'd like it… What do you all think."

"The arcade." Everyone, even Tokage, agrees on keeping that one in.

>"We could rent a VR room." Itsuka muses,

>"I'd take a batting cage, but it's not my birthday." Tetsutetsu remarks. "She'll have a better time slaughtering us at vidya."

"Oh, I'd like to see her try." You say, cracking your knuckles for no good reason. It just feels cool. "Ah'll have ya know Ah've play'd in numerous online tourneys, and Ah've got over 300 top eights. Heck, four? Six buttons? Gimme, Ah can take it. OH! Maybe Ah can get her an Arcade Stick as a present!"

It's not the kind of stuff you get to boast about often, what with almost everyone in your class can flip a car without much effort and thus making it rather lame in comparison…
But even considering that you expected more of a reaction than the blank stares the Class B students give you.

>"Well, that's nice, but…" Itsuka starts, slowly motioning with her hands as if to buy time while she looks for the right word.
>>
>"She's more of an <RTS>, <4X> player." Fukidashi finishes for her, his head showing the english characters he speaks about. "You make one mistake and suddenly your army is hers, your units are dead, your base is on fire and you somehow scored lower than the faction of the npc mobs that spawn on the map."

"Uh… Well, that's... harder." You say, a bit bummed out to miss out on an epic match, but quickly rebounding to giddiness, thinking of your second choice "Plan B for presents then. She's gotta like a wakizashi signed by Edgeshot, right? Ah could get her one of those!"

You are not boasting this time, you are just excited about thinking about doing some more ninja stuff and calling Edgeshot.

>"No, you can't." Monoma says, sounding like you said the dumbest thing he has heard all day. "Between the difficulties to carry weapons lawfully and the price of a proper saber, it's more likely you end up explaining yourself to the police than getting Tsunotori her gift."

"Well, now that we have a clue 'bout what we doin' Ah can start thinkin' 'bout some other presents." You reply, just a little flustered.

>"Note down the Macho Cafe." Tokage tells Komori, leaning onto the smaller girl. "I'm sure we can squeeze it in near the end. Maybe as an afterparty of sorts."

You glare at the green haired girl as Komori writes it down, but it gets you nothing but a smug, sharp-toothed smile and the sight of her bifurcated tongue briefly sticking out.

With a somewhat clear idea of what you are doing for Pony's birthday party, you can start thinking about presents… But that's not pressing. You have like… four or five days to get her something nice.

>What do you do?

>[If not swords, what else is there to get her? Her other friends might now. "...So, whatcha gettin' her? You know, for inspiration with mine!"]

You briefly consider if you should ask around for ideas, but after hearing Tokage's plan to give her 'something to play with' you think that you can figure something out on your own.

Maybe some figurines to paint, a box set, or perhaps something custom made... But that's all for later.

Your lunch is good, as expected from Lunch Rush's dishes, but between the planning and banter it feels like the bell rings faster than usual.

The classes between lunch and the start of Foundational Hero Studies aren't particularly noteworthy… Other than Fujimi and Bakugo's constant clashing, forcing you, Momo and Sekigai to stay alert and stop them before they do something stupid and get the teachers involved.

But as you change into your hero costume, you calm yourself by thinking about how it'll be just for today, and how today is nearly over, with Foundational Hero Studies being the last class of the day.

You just got to do this Survival Training and see that the school doesn't try to kill anyone, pretend to try to kill anyone, or put anyone' life at risk to motivate you. By now, you expect it.

>"Must be nice getting to train with an old friend, right?" Uraraka comments as she adjusts one of her bracers.

>"Yep. We were best friends through middle school, it'll be nice to do school work together again." Tsuyu affirms, already in full costume and holding her much taller friend's hands. While she's one of your less expressive classmates when it comes to facial expressions, her serene smile looks extra happy today.

You think that the hand holding looks a little bit weird… but what do you know anyways.

>"Yesss~" Mongoose adds while tasting the air in the changing room, her snake head giving you no expression whatsoever to analyse, to the point that you start thinking that she simply lacks some of the muscles used for facial expressions.

Regardless, you have to admire the simple yet good-looking costume she sports, mostly blue with a bit of yellow, the scale patterns make her look slick, fast and sharp. Good way to take the snake motif and running with it.

At that, Uravity takes a step back and whispers something to Pinky, both of them looking a bit nervous… No scratch that, Invisible Girl is with them too, judging by the gloves floating besides them.

Huffing at that, you go to the other side of the girls' changing room to help Creati with her ponytail.

"Lemme give you a hand or two." You tell her, allowing her to focus on her straps and belts.

>"Why, thank you." She tells you with a smile, trying to turn her head to look at you and wincing, having pulled her hair. Then she turns back to Sekigai. "As I was saying, after today I can't imagine your duties as the president of your class being easy."

>"It's… not." Sekigai answers with a sigh, putting on her strangely decorated high heels. "It's quite stressful, actually. Mostly thanks to a particularly troublesome student…"

With a modern dark blue bodysuit with screens on her arms and a strange device clamped around her head, Sekigai looks like the most equipped hero in the changing room so far. The patches with an S on her shoulders also look like cool insignias, making you hope she actually has a hero name and it doesn't just stand for Sekigai.

"We have one of those too." You comment, stepping aside from your friend. "He's… Uh… Ah dunno what to say 'bout him. Not too bad, Ah guess?"

At the start of the trimester, you wouldn't have thought that Bakugo would change more than Mineta, but the former is kinda-sorta almost friendly (if you can stand the empty threats and swearing) but certainly tolerable and the other just keeps walking towards sexual assault charges.

>"He may be loud and abrasive, but Bakugo usually does what he has to." Creati, adds trying to make Class 1-A not look as bad. "With amazing results, more often than not."

...As if you had given them a cue, that's when you start hearing shouting through the wall.

>"OH, SHUT UP YOU SECOND PLACE DISGRACE!" Fujimi yells in the boys' changing room, loud enough for you to hear on yours. It doesn't sound like heated yelling, closer to very loud trash talking, trying to sound cool despite the volume. "LETTING YOU ANYWHERE NEAR A PODIUM… HOW FAR HAS U.A. FALLEN!"

>"WHY DON'T YOU COME SAY IT AT MY FACE, YOU PIECE OF SHIT!?" Bakugo replies, letting no bait go unbitten.

>"HOW STUPID CAN YOU BE THAT YOU THINK I'D WANT TO GET NEAR YOU!?" Fujimi continues, hurling more seemingly pointless insults.

"...So, what's his damage?" You ask Sekigai, pointing you thumb at the wall.

>"Fujimi's? Assuming that means issue, he's just the best." Sekigai tells you, briefly rolling her eyes before taking off her glasses and putting on a red visor, a HUD flashing on it for a second. "I can't blame him for having an ego when he can take out hundreds of people by himself… I can and do blame him for acting like a stupid dog when he sees someone else being proud, though. Besides, he's a good guy at heart."

"Have you tried beatin' him up black and blue a few times? It really brings the good closer to the surface." You ask, comparing both of the barking boys at the other side of the wall. "It worked with min- ours."

>"Did you miss the part where I said he can take out hundreds? It's not an exaggeration. It's even worrying." She answers. "How do you think you can do that?"

>"Hitting astonishingly fast with the force of a train." Creati answers for you. "Ushi is-"

"Loanstar." You correct her, tapping the star-shaped badge on your open vest. Not like it can close or anything. "We are suited up, Creati."

>"...Loanstar is quite good at that." She tells her, rubbing her arm.

"Sorry." You instantly apologize.

>"Yes, we watched your tournament. Valuable data." Sekigai says, standing up in her full costume. She then taps her shoulder pad, pointing at the S emblem there. "I go by Sensor Girl, by the way."

>"IF YOU'RE GONNA START A FIGHT!" You hear Bakugo roar at the other side of the wall. "THEN START FIGHTS YOU CAN ACTUALLY WIN!"

>"I'LL SHOW YOU IN THIS EXERCISE WHO BELONGS ON THE TOP!" Fujimi fires back.

>"THEN COME AT ME! FIND ME IN THE FIELD AND SHOW ME!" The yelling continues, as it's to be expected when dealing with Bakugo's rage. "OR I'LL FIND YOU AND BLAST YOUR ASS TO KINGDOM COME!"

>"At least one's gonna end up bedridden." Pinky comments, scratching at the now sealed hole on the wall. "Maybe both. I'm not sure if they'll try to murder each other or make out."

>"It's not like I like you or anything, you piece of shit!" Earphone Jack jokes, doing a fairly decent imitation of Bakugo's voice.

>"Hahaha!" Mongoose's laughter sounds as normal as everyone else's amongst the giggling caused by your friend's joke, but the snake-headed girl just opened and closed her mouth, her facial expression unchanging.

>"Well, I hope Lucky Strike can help keep them apart on his side until I can help him handling Fujimi." Sensor Girl says, uncovering her mouth after her giggle.

Considering both boys and girls make it whole to the bus and then to Ground Omega in a single piece, you'd consider that a success. You also learn that Sensor Girl also subscribes to the Kendo School of Keeping Problem Students In-Check.

After getting off the bus and confirming to Mr. Aizawa that everyone is there, the show starts.

>"Alright, now that everyone is here." Mr. Aizawa says, standing in front of the massive gates of Ground Omega, the heavily forested training area located in Musutafu's green hills. "Today's Foundational Hero Studies class will be observed by me and one more person."

It's All Might. You don't even have to wait for the dramatic entrance as he leaps off a helicopter in a dress suit. It's his class.

"I HAVE -LIKE A SPECIAL GUEST- ARRIVED! " He says, landing with a massive cloud of dust less than a dozen yards from you and your classmates.

When the wind from the hills clears the air, he stands there with his hands on his hips and his signature smile on his face.

...Like usual. You almost ask him why is he doing this, but then you look at the Isamu students, all four of them wide eyed and brimming with excitement.

>"A-All Might!" Fujimi says, sporting the first genuine smile you've seen on his pale face.

>"He's really here!" Sensor Girl exclaims, covering her mouth with both hands. It doesn't hide her blushing, though.

>"He looks even stronger in person!" Lucky Strike says, the chubby boy looking far more heroic in his mechanized battle armor… even though it looks like he made it out of Lego.

>"A-and he teaches here regularly!?" Habuko says, her body language showing her as or more excited than Sensor Girl, despite her face not changing at all… "I'm so jealous of U.A. right now!"

Yeah, she skipped the faux-murder-parties, it sounds nice until those.

Wait, she's blushing too. Huh.
>>
"SO! FOR OUR LITTLE EXERCISE…" The country's No. 1 Hero says, raising his arms. "WE'RE GOING TO HAVE YOU ALL GO THROUGH SOME SURVIVAL TRAINING!"

>"...Survival Training?" Red Riot asks, understandably not knowing what that's supposed to mean.

>"You know, like in Battle Royale." Chargebolt explains, mimicking pulling on something around his neck. "...I think."

"So… we are to kill each other this time." You summarise, getting a surprised expression out of Mr. Aizawa.

"...LET ME EXPLAIN!... PLEASE!" All Might says, taking a small controller and pressing a button, projecting a hologram next to him, updating to show relevant stick figures as he speaks. "There'll be four students per team, and six teams overall! Each will start in a predetermined point! The objective? There's only one, TO SURVIVE!"

"...It was a pleasure, y'all." You quip at your classmates, getting you another silent stare from Mr. Aizawa.

"Fight, run or hide! Anything goes!" All Might continues, scanning his audience. "VICTORY GOES TO THE LAST TEAM STANDING!"

>"Before anyone tries to actually murder anyone else, I'll mention that for this exercise we are using Capture Tape once more." Mr. Aizawa explains, holding up a roll of the familiar tape. "If you run into another team and manage to bind them with this tape, they are considered dead."

...It feels like he's addressing you, for some reason.

"NOW THE MOST IMPORTANT PART!" All Might exclaims, pointing once more to the holographic screen, now showing letters from A to F. "REVEALING THE TEAMS!"

With the screen by his side, six names lists form before you and everyone scrambles to meet with his team mates.

Team A is yours! Well, the screen calls it Uraraka's, but the point is moot. Your teammates are none other than both Bakugo and Deku, much to the latter's dismay. Bakugo for his part seems more focused on burning a hole through the back of Fujimi's skull with his glare.

"Ah don't think we'll lose this one, pardner!" You comment, trying to poke Uravity in the ribs as you speak, but she steps aside, almost making you tumble.

>"Of course not." Bakugo says, tossing the Capture Tape up and catching it in the air. "We'll fucking slaughter each and everyone of them!"

>"Huh." Deku utters, getting Bakugo's attention.

>"And who the fuck talked to you!?" He confronts Deku, almost jamming his finger into his freckled face.

>"Uh… Eh… Nothing Kacchan! I… It's just… You said 'we'." Deku points out.

You aren't sure if it's a first, but it still feels nice to hear.

>"...I'm not going to let you all drag me down!" Bakugo yells. "So bring your fucking A-game and be ready to break some bones you fucking nerd!"

>"...But I don't need to-" Deku tries to explain, raising his hand, but Bakugo doesn't care.

>"Not yours, retard." Bakugo sneers, then glares at Uravity.

>"I… I'll do my best!" Uravity says, sweating bullets and attempting a salute.
>>
>"Just keep your shit together, you are useful." He tells her before looking at you with a manic grin that reminds you of your first days at U.A.

>"You'll have my back." He says, then brings up his hands and punches the palm of his hand. "I'm going to crush everyone in my path... Like pestle and mortar, reducing them to paste. You get to be the mortar."

Between it being called Survival Training and the liberal use of kill going around, you try to come up with a line to fit in.

"Ah reckon's been some time since Ah've some butcherin' mahself." You say, doing your best to imitate Bakugo's manic grin. "Maybe we'll have to compare bodycounts at the end!"

>"I'm just glad we are in this team…" Uravity comments to Deku, who nods slowly. "We too will do our best!"

>"Yeah!" Deku says, his mood lifted by her comment.

Team B is comprised of Pinky, Red Rior, Tentacole and Tsukuyomi.
Team C's members are Froppy, Sugarman, Earphone Jack and Chargebolt.
Team D is formed by Ingenium, Cellophane, Invisible Girl and Creati.
Team E boasts Can't Stop Twinkling, Anima, Shoto and Grape Juice.
Team F is just all four Isami students.

>"I'll handle each team a map with your own starting locations." Mr. Aizawa explains, showing a small stack of paper. "Get to your starting locations as soon as possible, the exercise starts in five minutes, no warnings."

"MAKE SURE YOU SURVIVE!" All Might… cheers? Despite the message sounding somewhat grim, he says it with genuine enthusiasm.

As soon as the gates to Ground Omega opens, everyone runs in, racing to get to their proper starting places and have time to plan… And to banter.

>"Keep running! You might catch a whiff of what victory smells like!" Bakugo taunts Fujimi, his team running right behind yours for a minute or two.

In the end, you make it to Team A's spot, a flat rock atop a cliff, more or less hidden by the trees surrounding you. It's quite nice, actually.

>"We'll need a plan." Deku starts, sitting down next to a tree.

>"We get them and punch their noses straight into the back of their throat." Bakugo says, stretching, ready to start as soon as the exercise proper begins.

>"That will get us ambushed." Deku replies without missing a beat, his usual shyness seemingly overridden by his analytical mind as he taps his chin guard. "The canopy keeps most of the area in the shadows, making long range reconnaissance impossible without going over the trees and painting a target on ourselves. Other teams have specialists able to track everyone with their quirks, like Jiro and Shoji's hearing or Dark Shadow's perfect darkvision. If we go out blindly, we will get ambushed by one of them, and if we start a fight, even if we get lucky and just happen to find some other team, the struggle will tell everyone else where we are, drawing them into a three way fight that I can't guarantee we can win or to wait on the sidelines to take out the winners."
>>
>"What do we do, then?" Uravity asks, echoing your own thoughts. Deku's arguments against Bakugo's plan are solid, but that only tells you what not to do, not what you should do.

>"Hmmm… It's safe to assume the teams with trackers will focus on those trying to make the first move. Once this happens, everyone will be leaving their starting zones and we won't particularly stand up. That would be the best moment to start hunting down teams, I think." The green haired boy explains.

>"I don't care." Bakugo says… No, roars, throwing his head back and screaming at the heavens. "I'LL CRUSH THEM ALL!"

"Ya gotta keep the Isami kids in mind too." You point out. "One of 'em goes by Sensor Girl, so Ah think they got a tracker too… But Ah've got no idea what their quirks do."

>"Oh, I've not forgotten about that shithead…" Bakugo growls.

You aren't too fond of the idea of waiting like a vulture, but going guns blazing against the rest of your classmates plus another team of unknowns does feel like tempting fate…

>What do you do?

>[Hard not to side with Bakugo. "You might self yourself a tad short, Sugah, but Ah reckon we got three of 1-A's heavy hitters right here. We can absolutely go in and rampage through!"]

Team D seems like the most threatening team while being the easiest to catch unaware. They should be prioritized to be eliminated. Giving Creati time to construct an ambush zone is going to be a problem. I kinda feel bad about bullying Momo.

...Then you remember. It's been a while since it has been particularly relevant, but you think this is the right time for Tin to shine!

"But we do have a tracker! And Ah dunno what Lucky Strike's mech suit does, but Ah'm all for robot fights!" You say, opening the pouch on your utility belt you keep your robot friend in.

>"What? ...a <bloodcow>?" Uravity asks, certainly a pun, but you aren't sure if it's a joke.

"Time to come out and play, pal!" You say, taking the tiny robot out and using your quirk to get rid of the tiny bit, returning it to its normal size of about 7 feet in a burst of whispy white mist.

Towering over your team, Tin's glimmering white composite body sticks out against the natural greens and brown of the forest, giving it a mystical aspect as it reflects the sun.

>"Ready to serve, mistress." Tin says, facing you with its main camera as it's tail scans the surrounding area. Even up close, you can barely see any difference between its body and head, the latter being very slightly brighter than the first, probably a result of a more refined smelting and casting process, you think.

>"Oh, right, your robot." Deku says, looking at Tin's chainguns. "It also covers for out lack of range. It would have been hard to deal with Aoyama's and Sero's quirks if they were allowed to attack us from afar while their teams cover for them."

>"We kind of got a fifth team mate…" Uravity comments, pumping her fist. "I think we have this one in the bag!"

It's not directed at you, but you still feel the warmth of the confidence they seem to have in Tin.

"We'll make one hell of a team!" You tell Uravity, grabbing her and giving her a playful noogie before she slips away.

>"Yep, no doubt." She quickly says, taking a step back.

>"...Can your toaster point the way?" Bakugo asks, unimpressed. "This thing is starting and we need to move!"

"Tin, Ah'm not completely sure what that sensor block of yours has innit sugah, but can ya find the other teams in this here forest?" You ask your mechanical friend, patting its arm.

>"Partly. I can find... two teams, assuming teamwork." Tin replies, it's tail pointing in seemingly random directions as it speaks. "I'm able to pinpoint Kaminari Denki's location due to his magnetic field. Tadan Dadan's as well as Sekigai Kashiko's suits are emitting low frequency radio communications, both close to each other. That would account for Teams C and F unless they have dispersed, in which case it only accounts for those individuals. I hope that's helpful enough, Mistress."

>"That's where that shithead is!?" Bakugo says as he turns to look in the last direction Tin pointed at, the largest craggy hill in Ground Omega, grinning in a way you can only describe as gladly violent. "Fucker has about a minute before I rearrange his face…"

>"...Tin?" Deku approaches the robot, patting its other arm in the same way you did before. "Could you be more specific? Distances would be great."

Without skipping a beat, Tin grabs a stick with its tail and starts drawing on the ground, quickly drawing a grid and marking your position relative to the other two teams. Pulling out your phone and sliding past some menus, you can more clearly see what it's trying to show on the dirt-grid, where you seem to be, the surrounding area, where your foes are and a patch of nothingness.

With each square being over a hundred yards... There'll be some leg work to be done.

>"Making a beeline for Team F will put us in the line of fire of at least Team C, Kacchan! " Deku tells his childhood friend, who doesn't care at all.

>"Then we'll kill them first." It's all he says, determined to hunt down Fujimi. "Them and everyone else that gets in our way!"

>"...With the capture tape, right?" Uravity asks, sounding a bit nervous.

>"Sure, glue them back together with that, I don't care." Bakugo says, waiting the last few seconds before the fighting can start.

With just a couple of seconds to the battle royale…

>What do you do?

For all his trigger-happiness and earnestness to blast Fujimi into a smear, even Bakugo waits for the five minutes to pass before rushing into battle…

That would be a useful tidbit if you didn't notice the black square on the map by the 285th second.

"Wait a cotton' pickin' second, you!" You tell him as he glares up the crag Team F set up shop atop of, turning your attention to your robotic friend and the interface to its senses your phone provides. "Tin! What's this here in the black square?"

>"Some sort of Dead Air, mistress, but I don't know more." Tin simply answers. "Whatever it may be, it seems to either unravel radio waves into less than background noise, annihilates them completely or absorbs them. Internet query returns an event horizon or a scanning error as the closest match and to display an average, but I chose to disregard that and mark it as anomalous."

>"Yaoyorozu." Deku immediately says. "What for, though? Who would she hide from this way?"

"...Tin?" You suggest, a little bit frustrated. You wanted to be the one to suggest it was Creati. "Pretty sure most machines don't choose to comment on stuff bein' weird. She may have thought Tin here wouldn't have noticed!"

>"Working off the assumption that it is Yaoyorozu's work, I wouldn't believe that. If she tried to not be noticed, we wouldn't have noticed her…"

>"Uhm… Tin?" Uravity joins the conversation, patting Tin's arm as well. "...How large are these squares?"

>"One hundred meters." Tin answers.

>"That would leave plenty of space to set up an ambush site, wouldn't it, Deku?" Uravity deduces.

>"Right!" He affirms with a nod.

"Ah'd say it's incidental." You add, trying to not be left out. "Creati's team is real strong, would be a pain to get jumped by them… If they are settin' up shop… A lil' consideration to keep Tin and Sensor Girl from pinpointin' 'em without goin' into their killzone."

>"Does Sensor Girl's quirk use radiowaves?" Deku asks, always eager to learn.

"No clue, but Ah reckon Creati doesn't know either." You tell him.

>"FUCK THAT!" Bakugo then yells, interrupting your little brainstorming session with the sound of his explosions as he starts running away, propelling himself to superhuman speeds with his quirk. "TRY TO CATCH UP!"

"...Ah'm not sure why I…" You say, tapping your chin. "Nah, I didn't really think he'd wait."

>"Kacchan!" Deku yells, going after him with a mighty leap. "Wait for us!"

Uravity just glaces at the boys, then back at you, then runs after them.

>"You are being left behind." Tin points out.

"Gee, ya think?" You quip, sighing. "We are so gettin' jumped on."

>"You could stay hidden." Tin suggests. "It would be safer."
>>
"Nah, not mah style, now lets go after 'em before they get themselves killed." You say, taking the chance to climb on its back instead of running on your own power. "Hi-yo, Tin! Away!"

While you could, and otherwise would use your quirk to go after them in a far more discrete manner, with Bakugo blazing an explosive trail any attempt at would be a waste of time.

>"As you wish." Tin answers, speeding after them, slower than you would be, but crashing recklessly through the underbrush.

>"W-WAIT!" You hear Uravity yell as you and your robot steed follow the blasted path of twigs, cracked rocks and broken branches.

It's only couple of seconds before you catch up with her, but it feels like it was too long.

Bakugo's mad dash and Deku's attempts to follow have given them a decent lead, which would be enough of a problem to deal with on it's own, but the sudden penumbra in which you find yourself in feels far more worrying. You aren't too familiar with forests, but you know canopies don't work like that. This part of the forest has no reason to be so much darker than the one you were in a minute ago.

>"Why can't they just slow down for a second!" Uravity says, stomping in frustration.

"Have you heard the mess they are makin'? Goin' faster than attackers is one hell of a way to avoid 'em." You tell her. "Now hop on."

>"Why?" She asks, approaching the robot but not getting on.

"Just trust me, sugah." You tell her, your eyes noticing how the path ahead is getting darker as well. "Get on the robot-"

>"The anomaly has moved." Tin suddenly warns you. "Whatever it is, we will meet it soon."

"<...Fuck.>" You spit out, annoyed. "Somethin' on the trees, somethin' closer… Hope you got better at brawlin', Uravity, cuz it looks like we might need it."

>"Oh, a lot. A lot better…" She says, taking a fairly good stance, ready to grab and toss whoever approaches her.

...Which would be useful if you could see someone.

As another suggestion for ways to fly ahead:

>"Uravity, be ready to reduce Tin's weight until we've caught up. Tin, keep her safe and secure and keep a firm hold of this. I'm gonna launch you two." Hand tin some fishing line or similar and then Austin Tossin' both of them ahead before majorly self-shrinking and hitching a ride on the other end of the line Tin has. Shrinking Tin and/or Uravity to some extent beforehand optional to compensate for things like trees and visibility: obviously don't throw them at full size if we don't have a clear opening.

Yeah, you don't see this going well… Time to put on an act.

"Great! We'll give 'em one hell of a wallop!" You loudly proclaim, placing your hands on your hips. You turn your head and whisper. "Hop on and hold tight, now!"

>"And turn our back to them? We'll be worse off than fighting!" Uravity loudly whispers back.

"Sugah, Ah don't think there's many ways to be worse off than dead." You explain, mighty confident in the fact that none of your classmates could send you to Hell. "Just do it!"

She looks around, at the stillness around you and the darkening canopy above. Then with a quick jump she grabs onto Tin's back, all the signal you needed to do the same.

"AWAY!" You yell, taking out your phone and turning up every dial you can access until Tin's threads roar over the ground. "Uravity, sugah, Ah'm countin' on you to take our asses outta da fire here! Makin' Tin lighter or whatever!"

>"That's not how it works! She replies, holding on to the white composite plates with a determined expression. "It's all or nothing, I can't just make Tin lighter!"

"Then use your quirk on its armor or sumthin'!" You tell her. "It's a wonderful n’ smart thing, but a thing! Made of smaller things! Make those weightless!"

>"Thank you mistress!" Tin says as you approach the edge of the penumbra, a promise of relative safeness quickly coming into view...

THWIP!

It takes you no time to spot Cellophane in the treetops as he fires his tape at you. In fact you were waiting for it, sliding your finger across your phone's screen to assist Tin in maneuvering around it and the dozens other tape loops now falling from the branches like small nooses.

Ingenium on the other hand doesn't give you time to notice him. All you manage to catch a glimpse of is a burst of blue light out of the corner of your eye and when you turn left to see it, a flash of silver meets your face as Ingenium's armored shin cracks the side of your head. The sudden impact leaves you hearing a familiar whistling sound for a second or two.

>"WALKER!" You see Uravity yell alarmed as the force of the kick turns your head back to the right.

Thrumming pain and a noggin rattling. Not the worst hit to the head you've received considering all parts of yourself remain attached to each other.

>"I apologize for that!" You hear Ingenium say as he speeds away. At that speed, no doubt he’s looping back with a wide turn.

"Try harder!" You yell back at him, still riding straight and proud on Tin's back, doing your best to make it sound like it was nothing despite you feeling like all of your teeth are wiggling loose. "It'll take a lot more than that!"
>>
>"Are you okay!?" Uravity asks as she brings up her arms, ready to fend off any attacks she sees coming. Taking stock of yourself, neck pain and the smell of your own sweet blood are nothing you didn't expect after getting hit on the cheek with that kind of force. The inside of your cheek is shredded a bit and red lines drip down from your nose and the corner of your mouth.

"It ain't nothin'!" You tell her, trying to keep the blood out of your smile. That wouldn't be reassuring. "We are almost out!"

There's only a couple more rounds of tape hazards and about twenty yards to reach the clearing...

Then Cellophane switches tactics and fires more tape directly at your faces. Visible and predictable, you reach across Uraraka with your arms and swat them away with the armored back of your gloves. You enjoy the successful block for a moment before another piece of tape comes at you from out of nowhere. Before you can react it wraps itself around your neck and pulls you off Tin and into the dirt in a heap.

You quickly reach for your neck, feeling it wet and… No...

It can't be. It's wet and a bit gross, but that is capture tape looped around your neck.

You are out.

Noticing your fall, Tin immediately comes to an abrupt stop, turning around and spins up its guns.

>"No! Turn back, we need to get out!" Uravity yells, yanking on Tin's head but it refuses to yield

>"CEASE! HALT! STOP!" Tin loudly demands in its childish voice as it speeds back for you, dragging Uravity back into danger, and ready to gun down whoever approaches you.

Meanwhile, Creati comes into your view, approaching while holding a large staff with two metal prongs on the tip and electricity sparking between them.

>"Sorry about the focus fire." She says with a bit of a smirk. "Couldn't afford to let you think, much less regroup with Midoriya and Bakugo. Picking you off now was the best outcome I could have hoped for."

>"...And sorry about the sloppy tape, had to hide it inside me." Toru says… from somewhere, then pauses for a second. "...In my mouth. It tastes awful. Yuck."

Sero is still slinging above you all and you have no doubts Iida will be back in a second to give another kick to Uravity and/or Tin if they don't get moving.

Put our trust in Uravity and Tin. God knows Bakugo is gonna drag things down with his solo act and likely Izuku along with him.

>No shame in getting abandoned and then focused. Still a bit disappointing. Oh well. You’ll just have to give the boys some pointers on teamwork later.

>”It’s just a game sweet-parts! You listen to Uravity an’ make me proud! Ah’m trustin’ you with mah sidekick y’hear?”

>”...Well, Ah can’t say Ah’m not a little flattered, at least. How’d y’all find us so quick.”

>Watch the rest of the exercise through Tin’s cameras on your phone.

Also it just occurred to me, but... have we absorbed Momo’s canon jobbing? Granted, it’s better to be proven as a serious threat and taken out as a priority than Momo’s canon “high potential and theoretically dangerous but never properly shown” bullshit.

Well everyone is rolling 10d10s and we're stuck with 4d10s

So yeah we kinda suck unless we use RDs and those got NERFed
>>
>>4395879
they roll that many cause we roll 3x 4d10 man
so technically we roll 12 dice
>>
>>4395879
That’s why we need to get Tin some of that Matrix training, so it can add skill dice to these things.

So much for survival trainning. Got ganked harder than a healer in a all rogue party.
>>
bright side: this happened here and now, not at the training camp with, say, dabi or moonfish

Nah what we need is to stop being so dependent of gear
>>
>>4396539
i'm sligthly annoyed by it. But the dice fucked us so there isn't much we could do about it. Also the guys lefted us to dust.
>>
Momo was kinda brutal focusing so much in taking Ushi down. Can't say if i should feel proud, annoyed or touched.
>>
>>4396539
Who says they wont focus down Ushi there as well?
>>
>>4396595
Also
>novelty sized cattle prod

>>4396595
She was probably subconsciously terrified of Ushi having enough time to think something up. It didn't work out for her so well the last time she did.

10d10 in this system is vastly more likely to succeed than 3 tries at 4d10.

Ushi was pretty clearly supposed to lose this encounter.

Also, why do people keep saying threads? Shouldn't it be treads?

Probably because I used it wrong, I guess.
About the dice, only Iida rolled 10d10 for a recipro burst. The other's were 8d10, 7d10 and 6d10.
Ushi usually rolls 7d10 when fighting, but this was running away. Probably you could have trashed someone if you stood your ground, but I don't know if you would have won.
>>
>>4396692
she will probably be on the kill on sight. Like how Icyhot and Midoriya were both top targets.
>>
>>4397241
Meh that's a lesson i guess. Sometimes you just can't escape
>>
>>4397342
I mean, we could probably have escaped if we had left immediately together instead of single file. Or if we had grown Tin to carry us above the canopy. Or if we had shrunk down and hid. Or if we had launched ourself into the sky and had Uraraka float us. We just chose the most trappable escape route.
>>
>>4397547
They trapped the canopy with tape. You really think Momo forgot we could go big?
>>
>>4397555
Even if a bunch of tape managed to stop or slow Tin, who can step or roll if either gets stopped, and we couldn’t get unstuck, we’d still be out of reach of everyone but Sero, who we’d be able to see coming.

Rule number one: A magician never reveals his secrets.
And we boasted and showed it all.
We are America Number 1.
So of course we were gonna get attacked first.

Time to go full Ninja, always another trick up our sleves.
>>
>>4397547
We could have destroyed the entire area with Tin's weapons. But i think people didn't want to risk injuring our friends.
>>
>>4396692
They might, but now we see what can happen if you go off alone, or underprepared in our case sine Uravity was with us. So far, we always surprised or group smashed our opponents. Receiving that is an object lesson, and maybe we can convince Bakugo (not likely, but maybe) that teamwork makes the dreamwork. Deku chased him as backup, so I kinda get that, but still.

Now, Nothing is stopping the League from targeting us, they went after Bakugou in Canon. And dice will always play a factor, but maybe after this we can get some upgrade in a teamwork skill, like a relationship die for people we are fighting with or something. The whole "learn more from defeat than victory" cuz we have been winning a lot.
>>
>>4397905
Yea, I second Ushi using this as a learning experience. Studying what went wrong and figuring out how to do better.

Finally got a challenge. That's no reason to get discouraged.
>>
>>4397949
>>4397905
I'm all for these.
>>
>>4397949
Should have carpet bombed the area with Tin.
