It’s been three days since you won your battle with Vernon and narrowly escaped from the seemingly ever-present jaws of death. The mysterious blackouts have become infrequent but they continue to disrupt all of the electronics and machinery in Nucite City with no signs of stopping. As a result, you’ve had to stick to light training sessions, cut back on battling, and stay close to the Pokémon Center in order to avoid completely wearing out your team. Though the days seem to crawl by without any serious action, you have a sneaking suspicion that this respite won’t last for much longer. The only thing that you are uncertain about is the nature and scope of this upcoming phenomenon.

EL: 96%

You awaken on a bright Tuesday morning to the sight of your alarm clock flashing on and off.

“I guess I’ll have some power for a few minutes.” You muse to yourself as you swing your legs over the side of the bed.

Once your feet hit the floor, you remember that you don’t really have anything planned for today. Without anyone to talk to or the ability to do any serious training, you’ve spent the last few days shambling around aimlessly. Your laidback starter isn’t bothered in the least by this unexpected amount of downtime and he along with a few of your other team members are perfectly content with simply conversing amongst themselves. Remise and Sephira on the other hand, have been practically itching for any sort of action. Aside from your own boredom, you also have the moving day deadline hanging over your head now that you’ve been squatting in this Pokémon Center for a week. As you reflect on your state of affairs, you realize that there are a few things you could be doing right now, but none of them are particularly interesting or appealing. After sitting around for a few minutes, you let out a loud sigh and prepare to make a decision before the power goes out once again.

Gabe said he will come to us in a few days and we can always get some itens when we get together before we depart for now I think it's best we make a big as training session with our mons to catch up with Arno but give focus on Asher and Roseae since they both are lacking the most.

>Get ready for another boring training session

“Back to the grind.” You mutter as you make your way to the bathroom.

Within an hour, complete your morning routine, collect your things, and step outside of the Pokémon Center once again. You then make the trip to the empty lot which has become your go-to spot for training over the last few days. As you walk around the sheet metal fence and prepare to go through the motions once more, you instantly spot Jordan who is casually leaning on old car.

“I thought I’d find you here.”

“There aren’t too many places to train alone in this city.”

“You can say that again.” Jordan replies as you approach her.

“I’m surprised Lyle didn’t tag along for this little reunion.”

“He sent me a message and told me he was gonna play hero and look for the source of the blackouts. He could be anywhere by now.”

Due to your experience with out of the ordinary situations, you know for a fact that a certain group of outlaws have something to do with this. “Aren’t you worried about him?”

“Lyle can take care of himself...for the most part. Besides, he only contacted me once he was out of the city so there’s no point in trying to track him down now.”

“So I’m his replacement for today?” You respond dryly.

“I figured you’d get bored having your Pokémon attack piles of scrap all day.”

“I can’t argue with that.” You say, reaching for your belt. “Are you here for a battle?”

Jordan grins and tosses a Poké Ball into the air before snatching it out of the air. “Sure, let’s see how much you’ve improved. Just try and keep up with me.”

>Send out Asher

You select Asher’s ball and summon him to battlefield in a flash of light. As soon as he arrives, the green haired Pokémon begins to feed off of the emotions surrounding him and pumps himself up for battle.

“Go, Snover!” Jordan says, sending the frosty Pokémon into the fray. Upon entry, a localized snowstorm begins to develop overhead. As the hail and snow rain down, Jordan puts on a serious face and rolls her shoulder. “Prepare to give it your best shot, Walter.”

“Even at his best, you’re not going to get much out of him.” Remarks a familiar voice.

Despite the cold air swirling throughout the lot, you can hardly feel anything but anger as you turn around with clenched fists.

“Oh don’t look at me like that, Walt. It pains me to be anywhere near you as well.” Ivan says as he enters the lot. “I hate to interrupt your battle but what exactly are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be brooding on a hill back in Cycad Town?”

“Who do you think you are?” Jordan questions, narrowing her eyes.

“I’m the future Champion of the Isoin League and one of the best Trainers you’ll ever meet, but that goes without saying.”

“Wouldn’t a ‘future Champion’ have better things to do than make an ass of himself in a junkyard?” Jordan challenges.

“There’s a time and a place for everything isn’t there?” Ivan says with a smirk. “I’ve already collected all eight badges and proved that I’m one of the best, but I’ve decided to do it again just because I can. What I still don’t understand is why my old practice dummy is pretending to be a Pokémon Trainer and so far away from home at that.”

“I’m taking on the Gym Challenge.” You reply simply.

“Interesting. Tell me, how exactly do you plan on doing that without any talent or a license?”

“I’ve had one for weeks now, and I already won my first badge.” You say, stepping forward. “You might think you’re actually worth something as a Trainer, but the only difference between us is time.”

Ivan’s face takes on a look of mild shock followed by amusement. “There are so many things wrong with that statement, I hardly know where to begin. That being said, I think there’s a way to make this right. As satisfying as it would be to dismantle your Pokémon within seconds, my new team could use a warm up before I earn my second badge with them.”

“What makes you think I want a battle with you?” You reply coldly.

Ivan chuckles at your response. “Even though I humiliated you in our last battle, deep down, you still believe that you somehow deserve to be where I’m standing now. You can act as aloof as you want, but you’re just too easy to read.”

>”Fuck off, you’re not worth my time.”

“I know more than you think, friend.” Ivan retorts with an accusatory tone. “Nothing about you has changed from that day.”

“He accepted your challenge,” Jordan cuts in as she stands beside you. “Are you planning on battling anytime soon or are you gonna keep running your mouth?”

“Oh, I intend to battle, but not here. You were right, this dump is beneath me and without a crowd to witness my victory, it just wouldn’t be as satisfying.” Ivan stops to brush some snow out of his hair before shifting his attention back to you. “There’s been a rumor floating around that the Battle Circuit will have its power issue solved by tomorrow. I’ll be waiting in the front at noon.”

“Fine.” You reply.

“Then it’s settled. Let’s see if you can resist the urge to cheat your way out of losing this time.” With that said, Ivan turns around and sends out a fierce looking Garchomp from an Ultra Ball. He then gets on its back before it takes off into the air with a deafening roar.

“What’s his deal?” Jordan asks as the pair become a speck in the distance.

“We went to the same Trainers’ School and we don’t get along.” You answer simply.

“Funny, he kinda reminds me of you when we first met.” Jordan says half-jokingly.

You simply respond with a humorless glare and take a deep breath.

“Sooo,” Jordan begins again awkwardly. “What are you thinking.”

“I need to train, find a reliable way to heal my Pokémon, and find a place to stay for the night.” You rattle off without any hesitation.

“I can help you with that.” Jordan says as she recalls Snover. “People like him need to be taken down a few pegs.”

“Alright, what do you have in mind?” You ask.

“Everything we need is back at the Gym. I can get us in with my key even if the front doors aren’t working.”

“Lead the way.” You say as you return Asher to his ball.

After a bit of walking, you find yourself at the back of the Nucite City Gym. The building doesn’t seem nearly as imposing as it once was, but you still feel a lingering sense of foreboding as you peer through the dark windows.

“You coming or what?” Jordan calls from the doorway.

Drawing your focus back to the task at hand, you follow Jordan into the pitch black room and close the door behind you.

With the light from your watch, you cautiously move through the darkness. “It was nice of you to bring me here, but we can’t train if we can’t see what we’re doing. You wouldn’t happen to have an Electric-type would you?”

“Didn’t you here the news? Whenever the blackouts start it’s like all of the energy is being sucked from the city. Electricity can’t travel from one place to another without fizzing out. Even a backup generator stops working when everything goes off.”

“So the plan is to wait until the power comes back on for a few minutes?” You ask. “We could do this outside.”

“There’s one thing I need to do on the PC, but we don’t need the Gym’s lights to train. I’ll be right back.” Even without the limited illumination your watch provides, Jordan easily locates another door and closes it behind her.

After a few minutes of waiting alone in the dark, you hear the door open and see Jordan carrying one lantern in each hand. “I was saving these for later, but I guess it’s a good time to break them out now.”

“Do you want to start back where we left off?” You ask as Jordan hands you one of the lanterns.

“Sure, but you might have to wait for a while until you can see my ace.” After placing her lantern down, Jordan sends out Snover once more, creating a small hailstorm within the Gym.

“I’m looking forward to it.” You reply as you release Asher from his ball. “Alright Asher, we’re back in business. Let’s show them what we’ve got.”

The inexperienced but eager Ralts shivers with anticipation and faces his frigid opponent.

“I know you’re used to sending out rookies all the time, but I’ve gotten better since that battle in Marlan Town. You’ll need to step it up if you’re trying to win this.” Jordan remarks as you recall Asher.

“Don’t get too excited.” You reply as you select your next Pokémon. “Let’s see how you deal with this.”

Upon entering the battle, Sephira lets out an energized roar as her small mane glows brightly. You can tell she’s been waiting to torch something for a long time.

“I like this one,” Jordan comments as the fire cub crouches low and prepares to attack. “It looks like we’re in for a real fight now!”

“They’re going for a Fire-type move, Snover! Dodge and use Leech Seed!” Jordan says, expecting you to simply attack.

Snover preemptively leaps to the side and fires a large seed at Sephira which proceeds to attach itself to her back.

“Use Work Up and then use Fire Spin while Snover is still in the air!” You order.

Sephira growls, causing a red aura to surround her as she gathers the power of flame in her jaws. She then launches the attack just as Snover touches the ground, incinerating the defenseless tree Pokémon. The flames then swirl around the frosty Pokémon and trap him within their clutches, burning him once more. Before Snover gives out however, the seed on Sephira’s back transfer a considerable amount of life energy to the injured Pokémon, allowing it to continue if only for a little while longer.

“Nice move,” Jordan compliments simply as the snow continues to fall. “But this isn’t over yet!”

A few clumps of hail strike Sephira as you plan your next move.

“Hold on and use Protect!” Jordan fires back.

Sephira fires a a multitude of flames at the trapped Snover, only for them to collide with a green barrier that immediately extinguishes the flames. Snover, still held hostage by Fire Spin, is still burned however and comes close to fainting once more. The seed imbedded into his dangerous opponent is the only thing that keeps him in the fight and as the life energy is drained from Sephira once more, the frosty Pokémon gains his third wind. In addition to the annoyance that is Leech Seed, the hail continues to batter the poor cub, slowly wearing her down.

‘I can’t let her stall like this,’ you think to yourself as hail rains down onto the field. ‘If Snover stays in for much longer, this will play out the same way it did the last time.’

Snover launches a heavy stream of ice chunks from his hands, pestering Sephira once more with flying ice. Shrugging off the attack, Sephira spews another round of embers at her annoying foe only for him to dive out of the way at the last moment, narrowly escaping the flames once again.

“Oh come on.” You mumble to yourself as Snover and Sephira proceed take damage from their previous attacks.

Though Snover’s situation remains dire, Sephira isn’t looking nearly as energetic as she was before and as the hail strikes her once more, the tide slowly begins to turn.

Sephira powers up once more, causing her small mane to flare up as red aura swirls around her once more. She then sends another small wave of fire at Snover.

With few available options, Jordan sticks to her plan. “Use Protect again!”

As before, Snover summons a shield to defend himself from Sephira’s fiery breath and is subsequently harmed by the persisting flames brought about by Fire Spin. More life is drained from burning feline however and keeps Snover in the fight. To add insult to injury, Sephira is also struck by hail for a fourth time. Once the final volley falls, the storm slowly dissipates and leaves room covered in ice and snow.

“At least that’s over.” You say as you prepare to end this.

“Sonover is going to dodge again, cut him off and use Ember one more time!”

Moving quickly, Sephira leaps over the stream of sludge separating the cub from her prey and gathers her flames to deliver the finishing blow.

“Counter with Energy Ball and dodge at the last second!” Jordan calls.

Just as Sephira expels her fiery breath, Snover launches a bright green ball of energy at his target. Both projectiles sail past each other and hit their marks, causing both Pokémon to stumble back and fall. While Sephira was able to shrug off Snover’s icy attacks, the power of Energy Ball proves to be far more effective as she struggles to stand. Snover on the other hand, is completely roasted with no chance of getting up again. Once Snover collapses, the seed on Sephira’s back falls from her back and is quickly burned to a crisp by the annoyed cub.

“Great work Snover, we almost had that one.” Jordan says as she returns the downed Snover to his ball. “I guess it’s time for me to pick up the pace! You’re up next, Fletchinder!”

As the scorching bird emerges from her ball, you take this small break in the action to strategize. With Fletchinder’s speed, the chances of Sephira staying in the fight for much longer are exceedingly low but you doubt any member of your team could match the bird’s swiftness.

“Finish Litleo off with Quick Attack.” Jordan orders, going straight for the kill. Seconds later, Fletchinder circles around Sephira at dizzying speeds, leaving only a white trail behind her.

“Wait for Fletchinder to get in close, then use Headbutt!”

Sephira’s eyes narrow with intense focus as the blazing bird swiftly approaches. With perfect timing, the determined cub collides with Fletchinder just as the Ember Pokémon reaches her. The two Pokémon crash into each other and Sephira drops to the ground once more as Fletchinder struggles to remain airborne.

“I didn’t think your Pokémon could react so quickly,” Jordan says as Fletchinder regains her bearings. “I guess I’ll need to step up my game if we’re gonna take on the rest of them.”

“My team is full of surprises.” You reply as you return Sephira to her ball. “I don’t think you’ll blow through the next one so easily.”

After making your selection, you send out the next member of your team. “Go for it Monsoon!”

Upon seeing Fletchinder, Monsoon puffs out his chest and takes to the skies to match the elevation of his opponent.

“Now we’re talking.” Jordan exclaims as the two birds size each other up. “Let’s see if you guys can really cut it in the air.”

Result(s): Failure

With the type advantage on your side, you decide to start as aggressively as possible. “Monsoon, hit Fletchinder with Water Pulse!”

Monsoon forms a light blue sphere of water and launches it at Fletchinder as the flaming bird continues to soar around the field.

“Dodge it!” Jordan calls out as the projectile closes in.

With a well executed roll, Fletchinder manages to evade the attack and continue her momentum.

“Don’t let up!” You order, prompting Monsoon to chase down his foe.

The dueling Flying-types engage in a chase as Monsoon attempts to hit his target with an onslaught of projectiles. Despite a few close calls, Fletchinder continues to outpace Monsoon and gracefully dodge everything the ducking has to offer.

“Get him off your tail and attack with Flame Charge!”

Fletchinder dodges a few more shots from Monsoon before pulling up sharply, allowing the duckling to pass her as the Ember Pokémon surrounds herself with a veil of fire. Monsoon is then slammed from behind as the fiery bird rockets past him, moving slightly faster than she was before. Though Monsoon is obviously stunned by the blow, the water fowl thankfully manages to right himself and stay in the air instead of going into freefall.

It only takes one look across the field to tell you that Jordan’s plans for Fletchinder’s newfound speed are just beginning. ‘Come on, think! There has to be some way to score a hit!’ You think as the crimson menace effortlessly zips around the field.

Rolled: 71
Result(s): Failure

Watching Fletchinder speed around the field unchallenged gives you an idea. “Let’s add some turbulence to this battle! Monsoon, use Defog and get ready to use Water Pulse when you have a good shot!”

Monsoon proceeds to wildly flap his wings, causing an inexplicably large amount of wind to blow through the field. As the wind picks up, Fletchinder struggle to fly against its might while Monsoon begins to form his next attack.

Though Jordan visibly is caught off guard by your tactics, she continues without hesitation. “Don’t give them an easy target Fletchinder! Use Acrobatics!”

Despite being hindered by the wind, Fletchinder begins to fly around wildly as Monsoon struggles to follow her movements. The scorching bird’s erratic flight pattern compensates for Defog’s interference and allows her to get in close to strike Monsoon from multiple angles, sending the water fowl reeling as he lands on the ground to avoid any further attacks.

‘If it wasn’t for Defog, that move would’ve put Monsoon down for sure,’ you think as Monsoon looks to you for an answer. ‘But even with the wind, Fletchinder is still too strong to go after directly.’

Rolled: 82
Result(s): Success

“Let’s wrap this up with Quick Attack!” Jordan orders, pointing towards the grounded duck.

Fletchinder gives a call of affirmation and performs a shuttle loop before speeding towards her panicking foe.

“We’re still in this Monsoon! Try it one more time!” You say, attempting to encourage Monsoon.

Pulling himself together, Monsoon uses Defog once more, slowing down the incoming Fletchinder considerably. He then charges up his attack and launches it seconds before Fletchinder comes crashing into him, sending both birds tumbling over each other in a heap as the attack engulfs them. To your dismay, Fletchinder barely manages to pick herself back up as Monsoon remains on the ground defeated.

“Good job Monsoon, you’re getting better every battle.” You say to the duckling as you return him to his ball.

“I could say the same about you,” Jordan compliments from the other side of the field. “Even though you beat Vernon, I didn’t think you’d push us this far.”

“It’s not over yet.” You reply as you make your next selection.

“Actually, it kind of is. Fletchinder can’t take much more of this and Tyrogue won’t be able to lay a finger on your Honedge.” Jordan admits.

Thinking it over, you realize that her analysis is solid. “So you’re saying I win by default then?”

“Yes and no.”

“Well which one is it?”

“I’m actually training Tyrogue for a friend and I left my last Pokémon to train with him. Once the power comes back on I can get her back so we can finish this for real.”

“I don’t know, I could use another win on my record.” You say cupping your chin in one hand.

“That badly?” Jordan asks with a grin.

No, we gonna face Ivan tommorrow, that guy is a jerk and asshole but he has more experience as a trainer than us and our mons, we didn't even brought Roseae yet who has no battle experience yet, keep going save arno for last and let Remise and Roseae face Jordan's last mons, make Walter say something like this:

This response invokes a look of curiosity from Jordan. “What do you mean?”

“I don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow with Ivan, but I want to be prepared. I need to get the most out of today as I can to get everyone ready.”

“So what do you wanna do?”

“We’ll finish this here then wait for the power to come back. After that we can get our teams in order and do it all again.”

“I don’t have a problem helping you beat that show off, but you shouldn’t push yourself too hard.”

“You said it yourself, I’m not the same Trainer I was before. I know my limits, but I also know when to push them and give it everything I’ve got.”

“Alright, then let’s keep going. Just make sure you’re not psyching yourself out.” Jordan says, her concerned look shifting back to her focused one.

“Thanks, but you don’t have to worry about me. Ok, Remise, you’re up next!”

“Remise, use Shadow Sneak!” You order, getting your mind back into the battle.

The spectral blade’s entire form turns black as it takes on the appearance of a shadow. With speeds rivaling that of Fletchinder, Remise suddenly appears in front of the shocked bird and slashes at her with his sharpened edge. Remise then exits Fletchinder before taking on his normal form once again as his opponent shudders in discomfort.

“Hold on Fletchinder,” Jordan says encouragingly. “Fight back with Flame Charge!”

Recovering from Remise’s attack, Fletchinder takes flight and circles around the battlefield before engulfing herself in fire and charging into the floating sword, causing a considerable amount of damage. Despite only taking one hit from the bird, Remise is starting to look just as worn down as Fletchinder.

With both Pokémon on their last legs, you decide to strike first. “Use Shadow Sneak again!”

Remise becomes a shadow and flings himself at Fletchinder once more, scorning the final hit needed to take her down. At first, the bird stands completely still as if unaware that she’s was struck. As she finally collapses however, a look of surprise crosses her face before she falls unconscious.

“Keep up the good work Fletchinder, we’ll get there soon enough.” As Jordan takes the last ball from her belt, she gives a small nod to the Pokémon within and sends out a familiar purple brawler.

Upon seeing you once more, Tyrogue throws a series of punches and kicks into the air and strikes a pose.

“You’ve got the right idea Tyrogue, let’s go out swinging!” Jordan says, beaming at his confidence.

With a nod of satisfaction, you hold out Remise’s ball and activate the recall function. “Good work Remise, return.” You then select the newest addition to your team and send out the small Bud Pokémon.

Roseae’s confusion is evident as soon as the light around her fades. You can only assume that living in the Safari Zone didn’t do much to help expose her to any sort of combat or experience with traveling to new locations. Your theory is quickly proven correct as Roseae comes back to you and plants herself next to the lantern placed beside you, unaware that a battle of any kind is taking place.

“Hmmm.” You say, thinking out loud as Roseae bathes in the small amount of light afforded to her.

Thinking on the fly, you pick up the lantern and approach Tyrogue, being careful not to fall into the toxic water running across the field. As you predicted, Roseae gets up and follows you until she comes face to face with her would-be opponent. Tyrogue holds out a fist towards the inexperienced Pokémon, nonverbally issuing a challenge that goes completely ignored by Roseae. Annoyed, the Scuffle Pokémon kicks the lantern into the murky water as Roseae looks on with shock.

“Great.” You mutter as the room becomes much darker. In contrast to your mild annoyance, Roseae is far more irritated by Tyrogue’s actions and lets out a strange squeaking sound as the lantern sinks below the surface.

“I guess that’s one way to start a battle.” Jordan muses as a fuming Roseae glares daggers at Tyrogue.

“Use Fake Out and follow up with Double Team.” Jordan counters.

Before Roseae can react to your commands, Tyrogue claps his hands in front of him, stunning Roseae and forcing her to step back as a shockwave reverberates through the air. Tyrogue then proceeds to make several copies of himself as the Bud Pokémon recovers from the unexpected attack. Under normal circumstances, the illusory copies are somewhat distinguishable from the original. Due to the decreased visibility however, you have no idea which one is the real Tyrogue.

Result(s): Success (2x)

“Use Double Team again.” Says Jordan, preparing to set up once more.

Tyrogue’s number of clones quickly multiply, resulting a in medium sized group of shaded Pokémon.

Not one to be outdone, you quickly form a strategy to defend from any incoming attacks. “Create a cloud of Sleep Powder around you to keep them from surrounding you!”

Roseae shakes the bulb on her head, releasing a large amount of green powder and spreading it around her to form a cloudy barrier of sorts. As seconds go by however, the powder slowly begins to settle, giving Roseae only a short period of relief.

“Now use Growth.” You order, capitalizing on the break in the action.

“If they’re planning to chip away at us then we’ll need to do this in one shot. Tyrogue, use Bulk Up!”

Upon receiving their orders, both Pokémon begin to power up in preparation for the upcoming struggle. Despite the small boost in power both Pokémon have received, Tyrogue’s clones may ultimately prove to be the deciding factor in this fight.

‘Roseae won’t be able to outmatch Tyrogue like this,’ you think to yourself as you gaze upon the crowd of doppelgängers. ‘We’ll need to slow him down and stay out of his way.’

As soon as they begin, your thoughts are interrupted by Jordan’s attempts to finish the battle. “This is it Tyrogue, take out Budew with Mega Punch!”

All of the Tyrogue clones crack their knuckles simultaneously as they advance upon Roseae.

“Use Stun Spore and get out of there!” You exclaim as the mob raises their glowing fists.

With no time to waste, Roseae picks a target at random and expels another cloud of spores towards her attackers before backpedaling away from a multitude of vicious swings. The golden spore pass by several of the clones without any effect and in turn, many of the blows that Roseae fails to avoid are equally harmless. At the end of the exchange, Roseae is close to the edge with her back to the water as the mob regroups from their attempts to overwhelm the Bud Pokémon.

“Use Stun Spore again!” You order.

Once more, Roseae shakes her head and showers the crowd in golden dust. Though the powder passes through most of them harmlessly, the real Tyrogue is caught in the attack, causing small sparks to spiral around him.

Now that Tyrogue’s attack has been put on hold, you decide to do some damage. “Use Absorb while he’s still unable to move!”

Roseae concentrates and draws several green orbs of energy from Tyrogue, replenishing a bit of her health and taking some of the fight out of the Scuffle Pokémon as well.

“Yes! Now we’re getting somewhere!” You say as Roseae’s energy returns.

“Don’t get too comfortable,” Jordan warns as Tyrogue and the motionless clones stand firm. “All Tyrogue needs to do is land one punch to win this.”

“Use Double Team and block off your section of the field.” Jordan says as she watches Roseae move back and forth.

Once again, the mob increases in size exponentially and close in on the “outnumbered” Bud Pokémon, insuring that the only way to escape will be through them. Since we're talking about time, once we get our teams healed, checked and stuff can we turn our other battles with Jordan in the simulate battle or just use the training mechanics? Like since Jordan agreed to be our training partner and she knows how our team works now, we could go for a few more rounds but this time just focus on the mons who really need some extra boost like Asher, Roseae and Monsoon.

>Block and use Absorb
VS.
>Mega Punch

Rolled: 34 and 96
Result(s): Failure (2x)

Looking as focused as ever, Jordan finally decides to take the shot. “She’s all yours now, use Mega Punch again!”

“Block his attack and use Absorb!” You order, hoping to deal a nasty counterattack against Tyrogue.

The Scuffle Pokémon and his illusory copies surround Roseae once more while their glowing fists begin gathering power. Due to her lack of arms, Roseae has no choice but to crouch low and curl up as much as possible as a multitude of punches are thrown at her. The first few simply pass through her harmlessly, but eventually, the real Tyrogue makes contact with Roseae and hits her with a powerful right hook, sending the poor sprout flying back to your side of the field with no hope of getting back up.

“Great job Roseae, you’re a natural.” You compliment the unconscious Pokémon as you recall her to her ball.

“You really seem to be getting lucky with these Pokémon you’ve found. If I didn’t watch you catch her earlier, I would’ve thought you had been training with her for days.” Jordan says as you take out Remise’s ball once more.

“I wouldn’t call it luck.” You reply. When you consider your journey so far, almost every Pokémon you’ve caught has somehow gotten you into serious trouble in one way or another. “Let’s finish this Remise!”

Emerging from his ball once more, Remise twirls in the air and points himself towards Tyrogue as if he were being wielded by an actual swordsman.

“I guess we’ll do what we can,” Jordan says. “Use Bulk Up and block his attack!”

“Use Aerial Ace.” You say simply.

As Tyrogue powers up once more and prepares to defend against the blade’s assault, Remise expertly weaves through the seemingly endless mass of clones and strikes Tyrouge in the side within the blink of an eye. As Tyrogue drops to one knee, it’s apparent that the combined forces of Roseae and Remise were too much for him to handle and he falls to the ground as Remise stoically hovers over him.

“Don’t take this the wrong way, but I can’t believe you’ve caught up with me in only a few weeks.” Jordan says as she recalls the fallen brawler. “I know you’re more experienced than what it says on your Trainer Card but it still doesn’t feel right to say I lost to you.”

“Did you learn how to give compliments from your brother?” You ask as Jordan brings the lantern over to you.

“I’ve been training with Tyrogue since he first hatched, aren’t I allowed to be a little shocked?”

“Time isn’t everything when it comes to being a Trainer.” You shrug.

“Yeah, about that…..How are you feeling about tomorrow?”

“A few more hours of training wouldn’t hurt.”

“Well if you’re ready now, you can follow me.” Jordan says, handing you the lantern before turning and walking towards the side door.

“Are we just going to sit in there and wait for the power to come back?” You inquire as you enter the dark room.

“Gym Leaders almost never get a chance to use the restoration machines on a busy day, so they keep a lot of Max Revives and Full Restores in their supply rooms.” Jordan explains, giving you and handful of items. “You’re better off relying on these when traveling anyway. You can’t always count on Pokémon Centers to help you.”

“You have a point, but not all of us can afford to buy entire crates of this stuff.” You remark as Jordan takes a few things for herself.

“I guess so. I’m gonna wait for the PC to come on and make the switch before we start up again. Just hang out for a minute, ok?”

“Alright, see you then.”

After exiting the room, you begin to revive your unconscious Pokémon while you wait for the power to come back. Never one to simply relax, you begin to think about your own inventory and your plans for when you eventually leave Nucite City. With only three Potions to your name, you know that the journey to the next city or town could take up all of your supplies if you’re not careful. As you consider the items you’ll need to purchase later, you suddenly remember that you left a few things back at your room at the Pokémon Center. Though you were mostly out of it while Shane and his friends checked you in, you know that there will be a hefty fine to pay if you don’t get back there in time to check out before late afternoon. At the same time, you realize that leaving now would cut into your training session if the power were to come on while you are away.

>Wait until the last minute to get your things

With beating Ivan as your top priority, you decide to put off dealing with your sleeping arrangements for now and focus on tomorrow’s battle. Not too soon after you formulate your plan, the lights suddenly turn on and the ambient sounds of functioning technology begin to flood the room. Subsequently you hear the sounds of Jordan talking to someone, though you can’t tell whether she’s using her phone or the PC at the moment. The conversation seems to more involve than a just simple trade however and after a few minutes, you find yourself idly turning the TM Vernon awarded you in your hands. You considered using it on Armo earlier, but you never got around to doing it despite the obscene amount of downtime you’ve had over the last three days. Now that you have absolutely nothing better to do, you’re considering teaching Armo a new move in order to expand on his generally straightforward repertoire.

>Teach Armo Poison Jab (Fury Cutter)

With the light purple TM in hand, you tap on the first Poké Ball to your right, prompting Armo to release himself from the ball. Once he sees the Gym floor in front of him, a look of disappointment makes its way across his face as if he were being dragged away from a cruise.

“That’s right Armo, we’re back in business. There’s an important battle coming up tomorrow and we’ll need everyone to pull this off.”

In response to your explanation, Armo lets out a noise that could only be described as a groan. He seems to be getting really good at doing human impressions.

“Like I said, I’m getting everyone ready for this. You don’t need to worry about carrying the team this time around.” You then hold out the TM towards your slothful ace. “I also got you this, you earned it for winning that badge from Vernon.”

You place the TM in Armo’s hands and he begins staring deeply into it’s reflective surface. For a few seconds, Armo’s eyes widen as a purple shockwave blows through the room. As soon as the display ends, Armo’s stubby arms start glowing purple as he throws a series of quick jabs in front of him.

“Let’s hope comes in handy later.” You remark as Armo looks at his glowing hands with mild amusement.

After a few more minutes of watching Armo punch at the air, Jordan finally returns with a Poké Ball in her hand and a nostalgic look in her eyes. If you had to guess, she has had plenty of experience using the Pokémon contained inside of that ball and judging by the length of her conversation, she’s known the person on the other end for a long time as well.

“That has to be a record for the longest trade ever.” You say as Jordan approaches.

“I had some catching up to do.” Jordan explains as she turns the ball in hands.

“If you don’t mind me asking, why would you send your ace off to train with someone else.?”

Jordan takes some time to gather her thoughts before answering. “As soon I won my first badge, all I was focused on was beating Vernon and showing him that I could take over for him when he eventually became a member of the Elite Four. It was all I could think about.”

“Everyone needs some kind motivation. Sometimes, it’s ok to get wrapped up in accomplishing your goals.” You reply.

“Maybe, but after a while I realized that I was obsessed and all I ever did was train to win that badge. I needed to do something else to take my mind off of it so I decided to help train Tyrogue.”

“What were you training him for?”

“I have a friend who lives in Aresi City. He’s in the BCF but he needed a change too, so we both agreed to trade our Pokémon for a few weeks. He actually did a pretty good job despite not being a traditional Pokémon Trainer.”

Just hearing about the UCF makes you wince as you remember the handful of bloody fights you watched on television. Though combat sports occasionally get some criticism from the press, the Unchained Combatant Federation is on an entirely different level when it comes to controversy. You’ll never understand why anyone would agree to fight a Pokémon while trapped in a cage, but the sport has never had a problem with making fans. “So you got a professional fighter to train with your Pokémon? I need to see this for myself.”

“I thought you’d never ask.” Jordan grins as she tosses the Poké Ball into the air. “Ok Buneary, come on out!”

As the ball falls to the ground, it bursts in midair, revealing a small brown rabbit with a large amount of fur covering its lower half. The bunny expertly twirls through the air on the way down, landing perfectly on her feet. Much like Fletchinder, this Pokémon seems exceptionally agile.

“Well this could be interesting.”

“Your Pokémon need to be pretty tough to properly train with her,” Jordan warns as the rabbit stretches her legs. “Of course, you can have some of them train with Snover and Fletchinder if they can’t handle it.”

“I guess I’d better give them someone who will be a good match up for them.” You say as you think about how to approach this.

Armed with the knowledge that everyone will need to pull their weight, you choose your least experienced Pokémon and Monsoon to train with Jordan’s team while the others work things out on their own. It takes a bit of convincing but you eventually manage to get Sephira to give you the Eviolite in order to allow Asher to take Snover’s attacks without fainting instantly. You then bring out the rest of your team and explain the plan to everyone.

“Let’s get to work.” You say as everyone groups up.

This training session is easily one of the longest and most difficult ones you’ve ever had. While Armo, Sephira, and Remise seem to be doing fine without you, the others are unable to stack up against Jordan’s team. Out of the three Pokémon you spent time training with, Monsoon is the only one to show any signs of progress. Though you would like to continue, the alarm you set up on your watch reminds you of another task that needs to be done. With a sigh, you walk over to Jordan and prepare to gather your team.

“It’s time for me to go, I’ll be back soon.” You say as you approach your training partner.

“I could take over while you’re out.” Jordan offers. “Maybe they’ll make more progress without having to work with two different styles of training.”

“It’s not that our styles are clashing, they’re just underleveled.”

“We can figure that out later. You’d need to get going before the staff at the Pokémon Center start rounding up the squatters.”

Though you're mildly annoyed at being described as a “squatter” you understand that the Pokémon Centers are serious about their deadlines. Arriving even a moment too late will undoubtedly create unnecessary problems.

“Are you still worried about the hitman?” Jordan asks as you recall your chosen Pokémon. “I thought you said he couldn’t track you anymore?”

“If it isn’t one thing, it’s another,” You reply. “For all I know, I could end up stumbling into a wormhole on my way there.”

After giving the others a quick goodbye, you exit the Gym and begin to make your way to the Pokémon Center. Due to the considerable distance between the Gym and your destination, you’re forced to run as quickly as you can, weaving past your fellow pedestrians as you race against time. With only an hour to arrive, pack up, and check out, you don’t have the luxury of taking a casual stroll.

‘What was I thinking?’ You wonder as you narrowly avoid getting run over by an oncoming car. ‘I needed way more than an hour.’

Ignoring the various honking horns and protests from those you cut past, you manage to keep a somewhat steady pace and eventually spot the red roof only a few blocks away. As you make your way through the automatic doors you are greeted by a blast of cool air and breathe a sigh of both exhaustion along with relief. With the city’s power running once more, the process of getting into the building and your room is made much easier. Once enter your room, you hastily throw all of your belongings into your bag and do a quick search of the room to ensure that you haven’t forgotten anything important. You then go back downstairs and take your spot behind a long line of Trainers who are also in the process of checking out. After several minutes of waiting, you finally make it to the front desk and manage to check out without any problems. With your task complete, you turn back the way you came and start your return trip to the Gym. On your way there, you think about informing Gabe on your new living arrangements. Of course, you can’t imagine being allowed to spend more than one night at the Gym, and as you continue walking, you ponder where you’ll be going after tomorrow’s battle with Ivan and what you’ll need to buy before leaving the city.

It takes a minute, but after a bit of searching, you manage to find a small line of payphones located on a street lined with various clothing stores. Taking out the number Gabe provided you with, you then pay the fee and begin dialing the number. After several rings, someone picks up on the other end only for their voice to be drowned out by loud music along with the sounds of cheering and laughter.

“Gabe, is that you?” You ask, trying not to shout into the phone. “Hello?”

Your inquiry is greeted with the sounds of shuffling as the other noises begin to die down ever so slightly. “Oi, who’s this now?”

“It’s Walter.”

After a bit of inaudible mumbling on the other end, Gabe begins once more. “It’s about bloody time you gave me a bell lad. For a second there, I thought you found some other poor bastard to shakedown.”

“I’ve been busy but something’s come up and I wanted to let you know since we’re going to be working together now.”

“Well spit it out then, yeah? The drinks are gettin’ warm and the birds are gettin’ cold.”

“I’m not staying at the Pokémon Center anymore and I won’t have anywhere to go after tonight.”

“What makes you say that?”

“Sometimes I’d use a fake license to get in the PCs for free for a few days. They get real pissy when you stay too long but the food ain’t too bad innit?”

“I’ll be there tomorrow afternoon. Do you know where it is?”

The phone goes silent for a while as the sound of a clicking lighter is heard. “Never been, I know a few chaps who can point me in the right direction though.”

“See you then.”

With that said, the call comes to a close and you continue your walk back to the Gym.

When you arrive back at the Gym, Monsoon, Asher, and Roseae are still hard at work as Jordan has Snover launch wave after wave of Ice Shards at them. As you silently watch over their progress, you begin to think more about the upcoming battle. While you’ve now seen two members of Ivan’s original team, this information does little to help you at this time. If there is one thing you know however, it’s that he enjoys applying pressure early before capitalizing off of his opponent’s attempts to catch up with him. Matching the overall strength of his team might be difficult, but if you can disrupt his plans before he has time to gain momentum, there may be a chance to keep him from having complete control over the battle. Still with only a few old memories to go off of, you can’t be entirely sure of anything, and that bothers you more than anything else. Losing to him again, in front of a large crowd no less, is not an option.

>Try to work on Alternative Techniques

“Thanks for covering for me,” You begin as you approach Jordan and your team. “I think we’ve all done a great job, but we’re at our limit as far as progress goes.”

“Do you wanna calling it a day?” Jordan asks.

“No, I just think we need to get more creative with this. If I’m going to win, we’ll need to make the most out of what we’re working with.”

“No offense, but most of your Pokémon are pretty easy to battle against strategically speaking. Armo and Roseae are the only ones I can see actually surprising anyone.”

“That’s what I’m trying to work on. My team might be straightforward battlers now, but if I can get them to use their natural ability and moves in different ways, we might be able to keep this from just being a test of strength.”

Jordan seems to understand your intentions perfectly. “You mean like Lyle.”

“It works for him doesn’t it?” You reply.

“Yeah, but it takes a long time to coordinate moves like that. Your Pokémon need to have a lot of experience to pull off something like that properly in a real battle.”

“I’ve done it before,I’m sure I can work something out.”

“You’ll need to focus on one Pokémon if you want to have something working by tomorrow. This won’t work if you try to do too much at one time.”

“Then I’ll just need to find the perfect candidate for the job.”

>Choose Monsoon

“Ok Monsoon, I choose you.” You say, pointing at the blue duckling.

Monsoon perks up at the mention of his name and flutters over to you, leaving Snover with one less target for his icy projectiles.

Jordan doesn’t seem too surprised by your choice but she’s still somewhat skeptical. “What are you planning to do with him?”

“He’s held his own so far and he has the right tools for almost any battle. We just need to come up with a way to keep him in the fight long enough to seal the deal.”

“He could confuse other Pokémon with Water Pulse.”

“He could, but it’s not reliable enough to cause confusion every time.” You reply. “Besides, he’ll need to actually hit something with it first.”

“I guess we’ll just have to get experimental and see what works.” Jordan says as Monsoon flaps his wings
excitedly.

“Try it one more time!” You urge Monsoon.

High in the air, Monsoon attempts to form another Water Pulse attack while simultaneously flying towards a stationary Buneary. Like all previous attempts so far, Monsoon’s timing is off and he simply ends up attacking the Rabbit Pokémon with Aerial Ace instead. Without full dedication to either attack, the duckling ends up blowing past Buneary and crashing a few feet away from her.

“This is going to take awhile.” You sigh as Buneary attempts to help up the disoriented fowl.

“He’s getting there.” Jordan comments. “I’d like to stick around, but I gotta get going.”

Looking at your watch, you can hardly believe how long the two of you have been at this. “Yeah, I guess so. Thanks for everything.”

“Don’t mention it.” Jordan replies as she recalls her team. “I had a pretty good time with you and your Pokémon.”

“Same here.” You reply. “I don’t think I’ll have another session like this for a long time.”

“Sounds like you’re planning on slacking off again.” Jordan says jokingly.

“I’ll be continuing my journey again after the battle.” You reply with a shrug. “I don’t think I’ll find anyone who would be willing to train with me all day in a cave or in the middle of the street.”

“You never know, there are some pretty crazy people out there.”

“Maybe. I just hope I don’t run into anyone too far out there while I’m on the road.”

“Where are you going anyway? You didn’t sound like you had a plan earlier.”

“Yeah, I didn’t think you’d want to do all of that walking.”

“Not to mention the fact that my team is more prepared to handle a Fighting-type Gym Leader.”

“There is that. What about your old friend?”

“I’ll be ready for him. After this is over, he’ll wish he just kept his mouth shut and walked right past me.”

“Who knows, you might get another lucky sweep.” Jordan says as she makes her way to the door.

“I can’t make any promises.”

“Alright, then just make sure that you’re the one who doesn’t go down too easy. See you tomorrow.”

“Bye, and thanks again.”

After waving goodbye, Jordan leaves the Gym and closes the door behind her, leaving you to your own devices. Despite all of the work you put in today, you still feel as if there’s still more to be done. You can’t afford to lose to Ivan again, but you also have enough experience to understand that sometimes, hard work doesn’t pay off when the odds are against you. As conflicted as you may be, another part of you simply wants to drop everything and enjoy what little remains of the rest of your day.

>Go out and try to even the odds

You won’t be able to rest until you’re sure that things will go well tomorrow, and if victory can’t be earned, your willing to see if it can be bought. Making your way to the foyer, you take the swivel chair from the font desk and take it back with you in order to prop open the backdoor to the Gym. While leaving the Gym unattended like this could potentially cause problems, you have no way to get back inside without a key and the thought of sleeping on a sidewalk for the second time this month doesn’t appeal to you.

>Leave some of the team behind to guard the Gym (Specify who)

>Bring everyone with you

Though you don’t have any specific destination in mind, you narrow your choices down to a handful options as you walk through the streets. In order to get a leg up over Ivan and his team, you’ll need to purchase some items and amplify the strength of your own. As you make a mental list of what you may need, you come across a four-way intersection that will lead you to three different locations. Of course, with the power situation still being an issue, your options may prove to be more limited than you originally thought.

After a bit of walking, you find yourself in front of the Nucite City mall. To your dismay, the parking lot is mostly abandoned even though the lights are still on inside. Near the front of the mall however, stands a medium sized crowd gathered around what can only be described as a large chariot. Though you’re tempted to investigate further, it seems that the mall is in fact closed at the moment.

Setting your plans aside for a moment, you approach the crowd to get a better view of the scene. Once you find a suitable vantage point, you see a mall security guard arguing with young boy with dark hair and piercing golden eyes. Beside him stands a well dressed middle aged man and a teenaged girl with similarly captivating eyes typing on her phone. Two men in dark suits stand alongside the extravagant chariot, keeping the crowd at a distance.

“I believe it would be best if we were to leave now.” Suggests the well dressed man.

“I didn’t come all the way out here just to go back to the hotel empty handed.” The boy asserts. “Blood Alert 3 was supposed to be released today, and I was supposed to be playing it right now!”

“I can simply have it delivered to you from another city. I don’t think these power outages will be properly addressed any time soon.”

“But the power has been on since noon!” Complains the boy, obviously unhappy with the situation. “They should’ve sent everyone back to work hours ago!”

“It won’t kill you to wait for a few days, Max.” Says the girl without taking her eyes away from her phone.

“That’s easy for you to say, you never have anything important to do!” Turning back to the security guard, the boy reaches into his pocket and starts counting a large stack of bills. “You do realize that you could earn a lot of money by letting me in don’t you?”

“Even if I did, there’d be no one to help you inside, Mr. Gould.”

“Unbelievable, is everyone in this city allergic to money?!”

The man who you can only assume to be the caretaker speaks up once more. “There’s nothing that can be done at this time, Maxwell. I’m sure you can find another way to entertain yourself until your game arrives.”

Despite the ridiculous nature of this situation, you can’t say that you’re surprised that this conflict drew a crowd. Being a member of one of the wealthiest families in Isoin guarantees that there will always be several people watching your every move. Though you don’t pay much attention to the news, you remember seeing this boy on the news several weeks ago. From what you heard, Maxwell Gould was projected to be the youngest Pokémon Champion following the announcement that he would be beginning his journey and taking on the Gym Challenge. Of course, getting all eight badges in time for the upcoming tournament would be nothing short a miracle for an inexperienced Trainer and defeating the current Champion would be almost impossible. Thinking about the tournament brings your focus back to your original reason for leaving the Gym in the first place. An overrated rich kid throwing a tantrum outside of a mall shouldn’t be worth your time.

With your mind back on tomorrow’s battle, you manurer through the crowd once more. As you step around another member of the paparazzi, a loud and unearthly wail cuts through the commotion, freezing everyone in place. A shiver runs down your spine as you suddenly feel an unknown presence hovering around you. You then feel something pulling on your belt and watch in horror as Armo’s ball is whisked away by the unseen force. The presence doesn’t stay anonymous for long however, and quickly reveals itself to be a cheeky looking Misdreavus.

“Hey!” You protest, as the crowd turns towards the mischievous ghost.

Misdreavus lets out a ghastly chuckle and glares at Armo’s ball, surrounding it in a dark, ghostly aura before flying down the street with her captive in tow.

“Oh no you don’t!” You proclaim, pushing through the surprised crowd to chase after the phantom.

Result(s): Chasing Ghosts

Without any hesitation, you give chase to the thieving specter as it quickly disappears around the corner. By the time you make it around the block however, the gap between you and Misdreavus has widened by a large margin. As the chase continues, Armo’s ball rattles violently to no avail due to the mysterious aura surrounding it.

The pursuit eventually leads you into oncoming traffic, compelling you to dodge around speeding cars for the second time today. Though you manage to simply run past the first few, the driver in the last car is far less concerned by the concept of speed limits, forcing you to tuck and roll onto the sidewalk just as Misdreavus phases through the wall of a nondescript building. Though the ghost has established its superiority in the speed department, you get the feeling that this won’t remain a typical chase for long.

We can track Armo so finding them again isn't a problem. The problem is actually catching Misdreavus before it goes somewhere where we can’t get to it. If we make it look like we’re giving up, we can come back with Remise while its guard is down and get Armo back.

You may be eager to rescue Armo as quickly as possible, but you also understand that your chances of doing so with your current roster and resources are slim. With its ghostly physiology, Misdreavus would easily be able to give you the slip once more if it were to ever find itself in a confined space.

“I’m going to need some backup for this.” You say to yourself as you turn your back on the building.

Pushing past the swivel chair, you enter the Gym once more where your Pokémon are patiently waiting. It doesn’t seem as if anything of note has happened since you left and this is reflected in how relaxed your team appears to be.

“We have a problem guys.” You say, approaching your pile of clothes and gear. “Armo was kidnapped by a ghost and we need to get him back.”

After a bit of rustling through your belongings, you find your Pokédex and activate the radar function. Syncing the device with your Trainer Card, you quickly locate Armo’s position and watch as the small blip on the screen begins moving westward.

“I’ll need some help from you, Remise. Sephira, Asher, you two stay here and keep an eye on the Gym. Hopefully this shouldn’t take too long.”

You recall Remise and leave the Gym once again. In order to save both time and energy, you walk to a nearby bus stop and wait as you monitor the whereabouts of Armo’s ball. While keeping an eye on the radar, you take some time to study the bus routes to make sure that you’ll know when and where to get off when necessary. Eventually, a bus arrives and you pay the 50 P fare to ride. As the bus drives to its next destination, you keep your eyes glued to the Pokédex as the small blip continues to move around erratically.

“If this is some kind of trick, it wasn’t planned well.” You muse to yourself as the blip takes a sharp turn before continuing.

In response to this new change in direction, you get off at the nearest stop and attempt to predict where the mischievous phantom will go next even if doing so is mostly pure guesswork. Just as you begin mapping out your path, another bus approaches, prompting you to continue the hunt. This time, the bus is nearly packed, forcing you share an aisle. As the bus departs, the blip stops moving entirely and remains stationary for the next several minutes. Feeling confident about your chances of finding Armo, you take a brief look out of the window, only to watch in frustration as the lights outside begin to flicker. Soon, the traffic lights, streetlights, and all of the interior lighting in the city’s numerous buildings go out leaving the city in darkness once again.

Moments later, you find yourself back on the sidewalk along with a group of disgruntled commuters. With no other choice, you complete the last leg of the journey on foot, leading you to the more upscale side of the city. Relying solely on the Pokédex to lead you, you soon find yourself in the parking lot of an opulent looking hotel that occupies several city blocks. According to the radar, Armo’s ball is located somewhere high up, a sure sign that your kidnapped starter is inside.

“Somehow I knew I’d end up here.” You mutter, thinking back to the scene at the mall. If you were to hazard a guess, that Misdreavus belongs to one of the Gould’s and was simply taking advantage of the crowd they had attracted with their presence. Of course, this particular revelation doesn’t make your job any easier.

“Walter, I honestly can’t say I’m surprised to see you here.” Says a familiar voice from behind you.

Surprised by this sudden greeting, you turn towards the direction of the voice to find Shane crouched behind a grey luxury car. It seems that he’s been sitting here for a while.

“But what I really want to know is, are we both here for the same reasons?”

This marks the end of thread #6. Thanks again to everyone for your support and if you have any questions or suggestions regarding the quest so far, I will respond to them as quickly as possible. I’m currently in the middle of a short vacation, but I should have Thread #7 up by either Wednesday or Friday.

I’ve noticed that combat takes up a bit more time than I would like, and this problem will only become larger as the the difficulty ramps up along with the story progression. I’ll try to think of ways to mitigate this issue without butchering the system we have now, but I’m open to suggestions.

>>

Maybe in a fight we could summarize it be being aggressive, defensive or balanced and the Pokemons moves would be one of the three, and just fight the real important battles like we are doing right now maybe. And of course, roll for it. My only fear is that this would turn into a more elaborate rock, paper and scissors game
>>
>>4376862
There was a small spacing error in the first iteration of that post. The ending was the same in both versions.

>>4377443
I already run simulations for the less important battles, but your idea would be a good way to flesh them out rather than relying mostly on RNG to settle the simulated battles.
