INTRODUCTION

Unknown to most people, the world we live in is dominated by evil powers and evil cults. Monsters and aliens are real, and so are worse entities. Only standing against them is the secret and mysterious Kek Foundation. 4chan and the other imageboards of the world are a front for the Foundation, which they use to detect people of exceptional potential. No one knows anything about the Foundation, not even who runs it.

You have received a plane ticket to the Greenville–Spartanburg International Airport by email, and $1000 on Paypal for your expenses, which you can use to buy supplies at your own discretion [if you do, then please list it so that it's added to your inventory]. You have never worked for the Foundation, and this is your first mission.

The town of Pelzer, SC, has caught the attention of 4chan's /x/ board. It has a Masonic Lodge, Illuminati homes, an abandoned mill, incoherent crime statistics, and a livestreamer who went there and disappeared three years ago.

That enough was sufficient to take interest into the case. The livestreamer is named Jake Alexander. He was an independent investigator, and not much is known about him. His stream dropped when he entered the mill, and he was never heard of again. Recent news of a human skeleton found by a "passerby" has alerted the Kek Foundation.

Your mission is to understand what has happened to him, and to report back about all abnormal and paranormal activity that you find in Pelzer. If you succeed, you will receive $10,000.

Abnormal Population
Pelzer has an official population of 89, a Masonic Lodge of 130 members, and 435 registered offenders. Those numbers do not make any sense: there are too many offenders compared to the total population! This suggests that the town is an anomaly.

Other Anomalies
Pelzer was a mill town. The mill was destroyed in a strange fire in 2004, and it's now covered in Satanic graffitis. Then, there's a Masonic Lodge of the Order of the Eastern Star, and the "Lutheran Church of His Holy Name", a church which other investigators who have visited Pelzer could not find and said it didn't exist. There's also the mystery of the "Pelzer Stones", stones left by the members of the lost Roanoke colony in the 16th century, which was another case of mysterious disappearance.

The Last Defender buys "The Art of MMA" by Jean-Claude Van Damme. The book is entertaining and some of the anecdotes are quite amusing, but there's nothing to learn fromm it. MMA is a physical skill and it's learnt from practice, not books. He also improves his baseball bat with barbed wire and nails. That and the hockey mask give him an intimidating appearance.

There's actually two Masonic Lodges in Pelzer; the biggest one has the size of a fastfood restaurant, Lodge #217, and is at the border between West Pelzer and Pelzer; the smaller one is located in a small residencial building with no distinguishing façade. West Pelzer is a town adjacent to Pelzer, and slightly bigger. Chuck parks at the Taco Bell that's in front of Lodge #217. Their Masonic symbol looks like a Hebrew or Satanic star. He waits for a while, with Rufus sleeping next to him, but there's nothing to see.

McGenocide, Nunya and The Last Defender spend the night at the Airbnb place.

Agent McGenocide and Nunya take a taxi to Pelzer. They meet up with Mr. Taylor at the Taco Bell for breakfast. Nunya orders food for everyone, but first he opens it to make sure that it is not poisoned. He doesn't see any traces of poison, but how would he? The party doesn't feel comfortable about eating in Pelzer, but they are hungry and eat anyway. As Agent McGenocide is ranting about the Latinos, Nunya gives him the evil eye.

There doesn't seem to be any activity at the Masonic Lodge in all morning, and no car is parked there.

The Last Defender wakes up early in the morning, ready to investigate the case. He intended to jog from Greenville to Pelzer, but he doesn't have the training to run such a long distance, and ends up walking there. He walks the streets of Pelzer with the intention of finding someone to question, but it's a desert town and there's no one. The only person he sees is a middle-aged woman with dyed blonde hair. He waves at her, but she walks away from him -- probably scared from seeing a strange man wearing an ice hockey mask. A few minutes later, a black Ford drives by him and stops. A middle-aged man with a faint goatee comes out of the car. That's the sheriff! He looks like a really calm person.

"I'm Sheriff MacMahon. I haven't seen you around. May I see your ID, please?"

The young agent then walks to "Foothills Gun & Pawn" in Williamson, the town just south of Pelzer, to buy more useful supplies. That's some good exercise! He calls everyone and tells them to meet there.

Agent McGenocide sends pictures of the mill to "Agent Maat", his contact in the Kek Foundation. Agent Maat answers:

"We already have such pictures, and it's of no use to us. Several people have already visited the mill safely, it's only the livestreamer who has disappeared from it. Please investigate more."

He then travels to Williamston to buy the supplies that he needs. He fits everything into his backpack, but the ladder is kind of heavy to carry around. He returns to the mill and sets up the ladder into the hole, which is easy because there's already a hook in the floor. Is he really going inside that *hole*?!

It is now the mid-afternoon.

The team meets at the "Fiesta Mexican Restaurant" of Williamson. As they are discussing their plans, a sickly-looking man in a trench coat offers them an enigmatic deal for a Nokia phone that has the power to call the dead. Their intuition tells them that it seems to be a deal with the devil, and all of them reject the offer. No one in the restaurant finds his presence strange.

After buying supplies at "Foothills Gun & Pawn", they return to Pelzer. Only Chuck has a vehicle, everyone else is walking. Agent McGenocide brings them to the hole in the mill that he's found. He chats with Squiddly, the new agent, who seems to be intolerant of his high-grade autism and refers to his mode of speech "shitposting".

Nunya and Anna go down the rope ladder. McGenocide follows them, but clumsily slips and falls on the floor. He's not injured, though, he only gets scratches. With their flashlight, they can explore the basement. There's not much to see, it's a room with the same dimensions as the room above, hower the stench is intolerable. In a corner, Nunya spots the dead body of a pregnant woman, in a high state of decomposition.

The Last Defender buys more supplies. Although the town is small, it actually has a library, and he finds the books that he's looking for. He then searches for an abandoned place. He finds the abandoned mill, where the rest of the team is hanging out.

He asks his Kek Foundation contact, Agent Maat, to help him locate the sheriff, but he gets no answer.

He walks in the mill neighborhood, and meets the middle-aged blonde woman again. Without the hockey mask, she doesn't run from him. She introduces herself as Jenna; she's recently returned to Pelzer to live with her grandmother. She is scared to speak in the street, and invites her in her home. She offers a drink, but the carpet is stained, and her coffee table is dusty, so the hero declines for sanitary reasons.

"I've seen the news article, but I don't know who the passerby is. I don't think this person wants to be identified, I don't think you'll find them. Even if anyone knew, they wouldn't talk about it. You will find that no one wants to talk about anything that happens in this town.

It's only recently that I've moved to the Lower Mill area. I'm originally from the upper-class White Plains Community, which is really on the outskirts of Pelzer. Something really strange and evil is going on in this small town. All the families seem to know each other. Some of the rich people seem normal enough, as far as rich people go. But some of my friends, they're scared of talking about their family. One of them always had strange bruises, and one day she disappeared. I don't know what happened to her, or maybe I know. She was probably killed. It terrifies me to think about it.

I've been doing a little rogue investigating since I've been back. My disturbing memories of church and the weekend stays at my grandmother's who lived beside and worked at the mill at the time is a main factor in bringing me back. I know things that go way back before I was even born. Secret tunnels and underground cement tombs that were allegedly used for the underground railroad were and I strongly believe still are used for far more sinister things."

The abnormally inflated flesh bursts open, releasing an overpowering foul smell that causes Nunya to vomit all over the place.

There's something off about the situation that she can't quite pinpoint, from the general allure of the body, and what she saw of its face before Nunya destroyed it. She can hardly stop herself from looking back at the corpse, but she decides to retreat.

"Pelzer doesn't have its own sheriff. Even though he's always around somewhere, Sheriff MacHahon is actually a county sheriff. The most feared man in town is probably James Crawford Jr., the Master of the Masonic Lodge. Everybody knows him. But the most powerful people, they remain hidden from the public. There are several millionaires who live in the middle of the woods, as strange as it may seem. I've seen them around, but I've never been introduced to them. There are also a lot of meth manufacturers and drug trafficants, they get more active in the evening. None of them are native to the town, but they always hang out in Pelzer, God knows why. That's the thing about Pelzer... It's a small town, but there are a lot of unknown faces."

The vigilante thanks her for the conversation and leaves. He buys more supplies in town, the returns to the mill and stores his weapons in a corner. He examines the graffitis. A symbol in particular catches his attention, at the top left of the main pentagram, because it looks like a specific symbol and not some random graffiti (Pic related).
