We left off after building our first state-owned factories purchased from your uncle. His ship is still in orbit and he is willing to trade....
>>
>>4185783
You still have 10,000 thrones on hand

The Freighter captain has been authorized to sell you anything he has on his ship, and has been instructed to buy the following items

Slaves
Provisions
Fuel
Trained warriors for use as mercenaries
High quality mineral ores

Available for sale they have
Industrial equipment
Military equipment
Personal items
Specialist contacts
Seeds for planting specialized crops

We could get up to 100,000 thrones selling slaves

10,000 selling excess food

And with peace more or less established on your planet, you could provide some of the young Geno-Lord warriors an outlet fighting as mercenaries... For a generous finder's fee of course

Do we want to buy or sell anything from your uncle?

I second that. Selling our population(slave or no) seems counterproductive in the long run. That's a pop of thousands that will eventually be free in our pdf, industry etc.

We don’t really need an admech specialist since we already have tech priests who will work with us. We just need money for parts and labor

You opt to buy as much as you can by selling as much as you can...

getting 100,000 thrones for the slaves (mountain realms -1)

Selling Geno-warrior mercenary contract to your uncle 50,000 thrones

Lord Rene Foulchier, second son of Edmund the Red, one of the most prominent Geno-Lords and five hundred other young lordlings have decided they want adventure and to see the galaxy, especially with peace on Halon Primaris.

Armed with mostly primitve weapons and armor, you have your uncle provide them with modern weapons, including flak armor, lasguns and chainswords.

They have taken to naming the mercenary company the Company of the Star, with Lord Foulchier, serving as its Captain-Commander.

They have no idea how dangerous the galaxy is outside their backwater planet.....

Finally you unload some of your excess food stores, picking up another 10,000 thrones

You opt to spend 50,000 thrones on Tigorian Blood grape seeds, and Dark Recaf bean seeds, in order to start farming more profitable crops.

Finally you request additional Admech and Ecclesiarchy support. In the form of a higher ranked techpriest and some proper missionaries, skilled in bringing primitive lost worlds to the Emperor's light.

That will cost 20,000 thrones

I forgot about the industrial equipment purchase

For 40,000 you could get one of the following

A. Lasguns, multilaster, lascannons, laspistols manufacturing equipment
B. Promethium refinement facility
C. Heavy plastic composite factory, making plastic, armaplas and plasteel, key for making armor and military grade items

And for 60,000 you could get
D. Heavy engine factory for armored and industrial vehicles
E. Aircraft engine factory, for atmospheric craft of all sizes
>>
>>4186973
B. Promethium refinement facility

This will get us income from ships stopping by for supplies and refueling and inevitable tourism and trade.

Might even get Naval patrols in our area once in a while due to our "strategic logistics value".

Multilasers, either mounted on vehicles or on a tripod or small wheeled carriage, essentially serve as automatic lasguns, putting down suppressing fire, highly effective against poorly armored foes and can even penetrate power armor and light vehicle armor when hitting vulnerable spots of multiple rapid hits to the same spot of armor

These weapons will now be mass-produced on Halon Primaris in the Halon Arms production plant, on the outskirts of the Imperial settlement
>>
>>4187636
Things calm down with the departure of your Uncle's freighter, as the manufacturing lines get set up and begin churning out product, while the burgeoning growth of the Imperial settlement continues, with workers brought in from all over the planet to work the factories and hundreds of small businesses sprouting up to support the new residents and serve their every need, with a restaraunt district, entertainment district and even a shopping district beginning to develop in the settlement.

You have a ceremony to celebrate the first Halon Motors T-1 model truck roll of the assembly line, the first models being stripped down versions meant to work on the farm-estates of the geno-lords hauling crops, tools and workers around the acres of farmland.

Building 30 trucks a day, it wont take long to fulfill your first contracts with the geno-lords and mechanist guild for utility vehicles

gain 10,000 thrones from initial completion of contracts

With the trucks selling very well, what kind of area should we expand into

A. Luxury trucks, with cameras, viewscreens, fans, fine leather/cloth seats and other boondoggles for the wealthier people of Halon Primaris
B. Military/Police trucks- with a mounted heavy stubber or multilaser and some light armor plating, otherwise stripped down, these can be used as light troop carriers or as mobile fire support for police forces and military forces
C. Dedicated offroad designs, designed to carry extra fuel, be extra rugged and stand up more to the elements and driving on non-existent roads. You opt to expand your internal security forces, given your financial situation and the state of the current enforcement bureau, the first step in expansion will be to recruit more men for the bureau.

Currently we have sent a few trusted security officers from the fleet, and a few admin officials mainly to watch over senior Guildsmen and Geno-Lords ensuring they are not violating your laws and trust, and that they are paying their tithes properly and on time. As it stands now, they have to call for help if they face any kind of resistance, as they have just a handful of men on site, and are surrounded by thousands of potential enemies.

Recruiting 1000 men to join the enforcers would give them more "teeth" behind their enforcement and help with keeping control over local leaders. It also will give them the manpower to start looking into major crimes and dealing with big-time criminals.

It will cost 10,000 thrones to recruit the men, as we can arm them from the ship's armories. but still owe them wages, as well as basic food and lodging.

Where should we recruit them from?

A. The Imperial Settlement and the fleet
B. The Mountain realms

You fund an expedition from the Imperial settlement, into the deep desert, which while technically is ruled by the Geno-Lords is totally undeveloped and uninhabited.

Using a ingenious plan devised by one of the tactical officers on the Bold Venture, a truck or a low flying aircraft with one of the spare augur arrays can use its sensors to detect objects underground, or more specifically air pockets and congealed fluid, indicating oil deposits dozens of feet underground. Using an offroad truck and a small airship, a large oilfield has been located, with an estimated 500 billion barrels of oil available for drilling.

With a dozen wells set up at the best sites, we could pump 10 million barrels a year, which can be refined into 1 million barrel of promethium a year, plus other fuels left over from the refining process, most notably kerosene, which can be used to power airships and other locally produced vehicles.

For 20,000 thrones we can get the oil pumps drilled and set up, but we will need a method of moving the oil from the drill site to the refineries, this will require a pipeline to be built to the Imperial settlement. That will cost another 20,000 thrones.

However the fuel generated could net us 20,000 in thrones a year in domestic sales alone. We could also use it as an export product, as our grade is an efficient high octane fuel for ground vehicles and some aircraft, of interest to Imperial institutions and passing traders.

A. Build the drills and the pipeline(40,000 thrones)

That's an excellent point phase out the current from birth slaves but placate the geno-lords by making the punishment for crimes set periods of indentured servitude with life sentences replacing capital punishment.
>>
>>4190413
Exactly. I wish I got around reading the thread sooner. We'll have a penal legion soon enough and the additional slave labor should placet the Geno lords. The Mountain people can't say shit unless they wanna look like ass hats to the other powers.
>"Slaves have rights! even convicted criminals!"
>"Even this mass murdering cannibal?"

Another thing is to eventually look for Pskers within this place. We'll need consolidate any recorded Pskers on the planet so they're less liable to fall to chaos and so them may serve the Emperium of Man. And possibly for the Black Ships if they ever come this far or if we have to send Pskers to one.

But we need to be absolutely uncorruptible, otherwise our penal system will be a joke.
Another caveat may that they will be probably less prisoners than there is born slaves
A third caveat is that it will be tempting to purposefully keep people in poverty, so they have no other solution than be criminals to survive, so we can enslave them.

I still support it, better than born-slaves, creates interesting moral choices.

Basically genetic warriors v1, that were improved upon with the thunder warriors, then space marines and custodes later

Sorry if this is too much info, just trying to paint the whole picture

During the great crusade they were purged/killed off through attrition in endless campaigns in the lore, these guys are the descendants of a expeditionary fleet cut off by warp storms, which is the only reason they are still alive. They have only preserved a portion of their technology and have devolved into an aristocratic class ruling over the non-enhanced humans around them

Also are converting Death Row inmates into slave or servitors optional?

Between the normal means to produce a space marine and a Geno-warrior, which requires the lest amount of time and resources to produce?
>>
>>4192215
Geno-warriors are easier to produce, one reason there aren't hundreds of thousands of Geno-warriors now is that the Geno-Lords didn't want to create too many Geno-warriors in relation to the human population, in order to keep them as a relatively small priveleged group

Excerpt from previous thread
Without the effects of attrition from fighting constantly the original 4,000 strong Geno regiment has grown be over 20,000 warriors
Based on conversations with Tarius and others you have learned some of the basics of the Geno warrior creation process. Genetic material is taken from existing Gene warriors and fallen gene warriors and returned to the pool, from this genetic material pool there is a surgical and chemical process that changes you into a gene warrior. It takes 3 years to fully transform, and is often performed on children, where the enhancements have the greatest effect. There is a small chance of death from the procedure (5-10%) in children, lower in adults, however full grown adults benefit less from the enhancements and as such it is only done in the rarest of cases.

For reasons known only to the Emperor, the procedures to become a Geno warrior only work on males

The geno treatments increase toughness, speed and strength, extension of lifespans to 250-300 years old

There are side effects, which include emotional and mental instability, especially at old age
There is also a small chance of sterilization from the procedure

The Geno Lords often enhance their own progeny but not always, with a distinction made between their favored sons, the ones that are genos and their natural sons, non-genos. They are also known to use slave women and the human slave population in general as breeding stock, attempting to create the strongest children possible, and on rare occasions even adopting promising slave children into their own family.

Natural sons are often treated as bastards by the more traditional lords, while other lords use them as administrative personnel and other roles where the physical stature is less important.

You decide to search the planet for psykers, fulfilling your duty to the God-Emperor and also dealing with the security threat of potential rogue psykers.

Under the guise of conducting a census, you have several of your astropaths put into trucks along with your enforcer agents, going house to house to try to sense any psychic potential.

The results are that around 100 very weak pyskers are found, barely registering to the astropath, while a half dozen mid-level psychic potential individuals have been located across the planet.

A heavily guarded camp has already been built for them in the depths of the desert. By Imperial law we should hand them over to the Black ships when they arrive, which may be decades or centuries from now, or we could try to secretly train them ourselves, or finally we could simply liquidate them, as they are a lot of trouble.

The big question is if we really want to put that in us. The issue is the potential for long term mental issues and mental stability, which will worsen as we age. There is also the chance of sterilization if we even want an heir to our little empire, but that could be rectified by, I dunno wacking off into a jar and storing it in some cryo fridge?

>>4192716
Are there an augmentations and therapy methods that, IF the general consensus is to use the Geno modding method, we could take to balance out the problem of mental instability? Could the Longevity therapy surgery thing be compatible with the geno modding? If we don't know then we could offer to apple the idea to one of their elder lords, which would no doubt boost our relations with them greatly. That's not a bad idea. While we're at it lets do what you suggested and call up some bio magos through our uncle or something. They'll fine tune our gene warriors, and soon enough, given a decade or two, we'll have a source or loyal unaffiliated chapter quality space marines to protect our little pocket of the galaxy. if we train them in void combat then they would make for excellent boarding parties.

You decide to try to start a highly illegal secret pysker training program. For this you will need a powerful trained pysker to train them, as well as powerful security measures against potential hazards such as breakout attempts and demonic possessions....

If done right, geno-implantation would have minimal side effects, while extending your speed, strength and lifespan, however it would take very good relations 3+ to ask the geno-lords for such a thing. So far we have not asked them to make any changes or to do anythign regarding the geno enhancement process.

Even if we brought in a biologos magos to help fine tune the gene-warrior program, it will never be as good as Astartes, who are a more advanced and complicated version of the same technology developed by the Emperor himself.

Think of them having a niche power level between regular humans and space marines.

If they could be trained and equipped as such they would make excellent assault troops and void troops, likely some of the best in the galaxy, short of space marines and some xenos troops

Uuuhhhh.... ok then. So, let's put the Psyker training on hold for now but keep an eye on all of them. In the mean maybe we can ask on of our Adepts about legal and illegal means of procuring a trained psyker for the purpose of tempering the potential of other psykers so they may better serve our lord. We need mad nerd skills and laws.

Fixing the space station and arming it with AS (anti-space?) batteries it is then. Later when we have more finding that is. >A caveat I would add is anyone caught falsely sentencing people so as to create slaves automatically becomes a lifer. The system is at risk of corruption.
If anyone, ANYONE. Doesn't matter if they are a geno-lord or not. If they or anyone falsely condemn people to work as slaves then they too shall be put to use. Willing or not (coughs in Servitors). The Geno-lords are supposed to be noble or such should they not?

Sorry guys, today has been real busy with work. This week might be a little slow but things should pick up a lot this weekend and next week for the thread

>>4193547
With your cash reserves dropping low again, you need to find ways of increasing your income and improving your control over Halon Primaris and its integration into a true single realm from a fractured world of divided factions...

To this end you have asked around for some ideas for great events you could hold to gather the important people of the planet....

There are several ideas based on the traditions of the planet...

The mountain realms enjoying motor racing, ever since they rediscovered how to build basic engines and powered machines. They prefer to build small sleek airships, built for speed and manueverability.

Giant flag posts and posts holding massive rings are erected in the desert, where pilots are challenged to fly through the rings or tightly turn around the flags on a 6 hour long course, that involves finesse, endurance and a little luck to come out the winner...

The borderlands have been known to host some of the most impressive wildlife on the planet, particularly the might sahara Lion, a massive predatory cats weighing 200-300 lbs of pure muscle, known for their stealthiness and aggressiveness, particularly against the livestock of farms in the region, the geno-lords are known for launching great hunts, with small parties of noblemen going into the wilderness to hunt for the beast, using specially made sahara rifles, massive scoped bolt-action rifles designed for hunting big game, sporting .30-.50 caliber rounds, rounds large enough to cut a human in half if you hit them center body mass.

Often hunters are killed searching for their deadly quary, but its a great honor to have a lion pelt in one's home....

Finally, the geno-lords have a tradition of duelling among themselves, as a bloodsport and contest of strength during peaceful times, fighting with weighted, dulled iron swords warriors fight to the last man standing, with each noble house sending a handful of fighters to the tournament....

Right now, we have time for one major event in the coming season, but we could do the other events in later years.

A. Hold an aero-race
B. Hold a great hunt
C. Hold a tournament
D. Other(Write-in)

>A. Hold an aero-race
but lets modify it a bit. I dunno if the Imperium has any 3D display technology or if it's heretical or not, but why not replace the metal rings with Sevoskull projectors or something? Replace the solid poles and rings with a hand full of servoskulls that project the image of a giant ring. This way if there's a major fuck up the racers are less liable to crash into the poles and die, and if they hit on of the skulls then another one will just fly up to take it's place while the surviving ones maintain the hologram.

Less people are less liable to die via "flag post accidents" and just about anyone can do it. Something everyone will enjoy.

You opt to hold an aero race, inviting all of the notables on Halon Primaris to attend, you take to calling it the Blackwood classic.

Dozens of racing teams from all across the mountain realms are assembled with the geno-lords even fielding a few teams and a team being formed from the Imperial Settlement, from old crew members of the Bold Venture.

The first round of races are relatively uneventful, with a handful of teams having engine problems and failing to complete the course, eliminating the weakest half of the teams leaving notably the Imperial team and several of the established teams competing for the Blackwood Cup.

While you shouldn't play favorites, you find yourself supporting the Imperial team, racing their own custom built airship the East Wind, against some very talented native crews, who have become natural pilots able to sense the flow of the winds, use them to carry their ships farther and faster....

The next round goes better than expected for the Imperial team, with them beating several established teams to get into the final round of 4 teams competing, unfortunately, while passing one of the last rings, they badly damaged one of their engines, and based on talking to their crew chief, they have no spares available.

You could help them on the sly, and have an aero engine brought secretly brought in....

A. Secretly help the Imperial team win
B. Let things play out without your intervention
C. Other(Write-in)

>unfortunately, while passing one of the last rings, they badly damaged one of their engines, and based on talking to their crew chief, they have no spares available.
A. Secretly help the Imperial team win
It really sucks if none of the teams can't compete due to a "lack of engine". Materials shouldn't hinder a sport of skill, so why not?
Alternatively would it be possible to get a Tech priest to repair their engine instead?

You decide to let things play out, without your interference. With a damaged engine the Imperial team is forced to drop from the final championship round. Where the last 4 remaining teams must race around several large flags, atop several hundred feet high poles in the desert, along with a series of 3 rings at the end, with one atop a high pole, one a low pole and the final one a medium pole, forcing the pilot to rapidly manuever and change altitude to finish the course....

A mechanist guild backed team is the favorite, widely regarded to have the best machine and the best pilot, Gregor McKidd, who accompanied by his copilot/flight engineer have one similar races in the past. Their airship painted red and gold, for the Mechanist guild is called the Independence.

The second most favored is an Independent team from a poor village in the southern mountain realms, who have unexpectedly suvived to the championship round, and have raced extremely well, executing virtually all manuevers with perfection. Their ship is blue and white, and called the Mountain Clipper, named after the small trade airships that ply the mountain towns.
>>
>>4194841
The final race is dramatic, with the 2 favored teams neck and neck, but the pressure seems to get to the team of the Mountain clipper, with a bad turn, costing them several seconds, and putting them behind the mechanist backed team who wins the championship....

You have a small feast and present the Blackwood Cup to the winning team, a finely crafted golden goblet with a stenciled airship on it you had made specially for the event...

Things are slow for several days as you recover from the food and drink and pleasant chats with various local leaders at the races when you are notifed that the Bold Venture has received a distress signal from an industrial world several days warp travel away.

You know almost nothing about the planet aside from its classification and that its ruled by House Viggan, an old noble house in the region....

You opt to gather your first 2 PDF regiments, light infantry formed from mountain realm troops, native recruits and some Imperial settlers, trained by the Wild Boars mercenaries, they are armed with basic gear and fight as light infantry.

I'm kind of regretting not getting the Las gun outfit for the bulk of our army. Are the geno warriors capable of straight up lifting the bug automatic laser guns and shooting them?

They are capable of handling heavy weapons, like a space marine/space marine scout would. We also have ship's armories to arm the men with. As it stands we are effectively sending our entire PDF minus some geno-warriors and local militias. At this point our military is small enough that between their existing equipment and things borrowed from the armory they can be equipped with some decent gear

Finally got through reading the threads, holy shit how have we not managed to start a revolt over our tyrannical heresy. We are selling slaves that we just promised would (eventually) be freed to fucking xenos, and we are not even hiding it.
What the fuck.

we will see with our update, is stil our duty to help them. It could just remain doing nothing in a part of their system

I know right? Like step the fuck up guys, but I can think of a way to bullshit a legitimate reason for doing so. What with this place only recently being freed from warp storms we could say we had to get as much as we could done (trading slaves for resources) before any xenos or chaos worshippers honed in on their virgin planet. If we didn't then we'll get fucked twice as hard. Maybe not that word for word but you get my point.

If the "Space Hulk" is as bad as I think it will be, then hopefully the few natives we take with us to fight (which I hope won't be necessary) will relay their tales of horror to the rest of the people. You know to sort of cement our justification for the heretical slave trading.

We must call upon the power of diplomacy and bullshit. Perhaps after this is all well and done we might increase our standing with the various lords and factions of the planet.

Your ships arrive in the system after a short, uneventful trip through warp space.

The massive space hulk immediately shows up on the augur scopes, and is quickly magnified on the vid screens around the bridge. The hulk utterly dwarfs your two ships, which are moderately sized by Imperial standards.

You are hailed by a strong tight-beam vox signal from the Acheron Prime

"I am Lord Governor Alexander Viggan, identify yourself immediately."

"I am Lord Governor Jakob Blackwood, responding to your distress signal"

"Ah yes, the space hulk, I sent my warship to investigate and the hulk and take its treasures, but the damned fool captain must have made some kind of mistake, as we lost contact with the ship several days ago after I ordered the captain to dock with the space hulk"

The tone of the Governor is disdainful and patronizing at the same time, despite the fact that you have come to assist him and he lost his only warship...

>>4195285
Based on talking to the other governor it was a sword-class frigate with a complement of 3 companies of infantry aboard to investigate the space hulk

Sure enough scans show a sword-class docked along side, not emitting any signals or power signature....
>>
>>4195313
oh wait. 3 companies is a lot, right? more than we have? And I guess they docked the entire ship instead of sending people on shuttles or something.

>Then there are the troops of the mountain realms, armed with flak quality armor and autoguns. In the mountain realms are made up of several distinct polities with their own elder councils that all are bound together by the same flag and culture,

>Despite their best efforts, the regiment's quartermaster and warsmiths were not able to recreate the production of their original equipment, although several attempts have been made, and they have developed a sort of heavy carapace-grade armor, although without power servos and ceramite plating, is inferior to the partial power armor that the regiment was originally equipped with.Due to the expensive and difficulty of production, only a few thousand suits of this armor have been made, with most geno warriors using flak-quality armor with chainmail overlays, and are armed with stub pistols and chain weapons, with only their greatest warriors and house members wielding their most ancient weapons.

>You opt to gather your first 2 PDF regiments, light infantry formed from mountain realm troops, native recruits and some Imperial settlers, trained by the Wild Boars mercenaries, they are armed with basic gear and fight as light infantry.

You also bring the Wild Boars and 1000 Geno-warriors.

>The Wild Boars- Mostly ex-Elysian mercenaries, effectively the equivalent of 3 overstrength, and very well equipped Imperial guard airborne regiments. They are on the second year of a 5 year contract they signed with your uncle.

A sword-class frigate is a kind of frigate right? About the same size as ours or slightly smaller I think.
I change my mind, lets go balls deep. Dibs on the hulk if we play our cards right. Did we bring any promethium?

>>4195333
You tell me if that's a lot. We got 2 regiments (A regiment is almost 10x bigger than a company) worth of PDF armed with Flakk tier armor and autoguns, 1000 Genewarrios armed with heavy carapace armor, and a veteran regiment.

We have a dozen shuttles, including a few heavy ones, for moving things between the surface and our ship. We brought most of them with us, so we can land several hundred men at a time if we attempt to dock with the frigate
>>
>>4195359
True, but there are also wide space with the narrow ones. Both of which are, probably not going to matter unless we're going down there into combat i.e. leave it to the npc's to handle combat themselves.

On a plus not I'm stupid for forgetting we actually own 2 starships. One is the personal one we now own that we purchased from our uncle- Bold Venture. The other ship is the Fiery Hand, and I'm not sure if we own it or it belongs to the Mercenary Company we have under hire.

>>4195365
Let the Geno-warriors be the first to land followed up by the our Infantry. They need to make contact with the docked ship but prepare a path for escape in case things get dicey to they can escape, covering them with artillery fire from the ship if need be. It should go without saying we should avoid friendly fire.
>>
>>4195369
+1 on that, sounds like a plan.
Geno-warriors are melee specialists, so they obviosly go first, but I think we wait for a report before sending the main bulk of our forces
>>
>>4195377
They're not necessarily melee specialists, but they are overall faster, stronger, and tougher than the normal human being. I just figured they'd be great for initally holding a position until we can flood the area with corpses- I mean armed infantry to secure a checkpoint.

You decide to investigate the space hulk, sending a shuttle full of geno-warriors to make the intitial boarding...

The initial shuttle is able to link up with one of the airlocks on the frigate, and using passcodes from governor are able to open the airlock door. Inside they find corridors, splattered with blood, claw marks and blast scars from lasfire and bullets, but no corpses, they quickly push their way into a tactical control room and what an armory room, with several weapons and armor sets sitting unlooted.

Unfortunately whatever killed the men, destroyed the computer consoles and vidscreens, leaving speculation and further scouting the only way to find out more....

A few hundred men quickly board and set up barricades and multilasers in defensive positions in chokepoints. Your officers are confident they have the men to push to the bridge and take control of it....

The only things that could do this is either genestealers or tyranids. Probably both now. Or at the very least, blow up the platform connecting the frigate to the Space Hulk.

You have reinforcements landed on the frigate, along with a techpriest and some explosives. Three groups of your men are sent out from the small section you have taken, one group to the airlock linking the ship to the rest of the space hulk, one to the bridge and one to the engine room....

Several tense minutes go by before each team reports that they have reached their positions, with the techpriest saying he can get the ship moving again in a few hours...

In the meantime, the team has secured the airlock connecting the ship to the rest of the hulk and should have the explosives ready in a few minutes.....

They report hearing clanging of flesh on metal, like something running in the distance, and hissing and screeching approaching the airlock......

Get them out of there! Immediate withdrawal of all forces! Hello lid set the frigate to self destruct if we had propped access to the machine spirit.(which I doubt from sms description).

Space marine chapters struggle to contains space hulks, what were we going to do? All but confirmed genestealer/possible demonic pressene? The mission and the frigate are a right off. Even if we got it moving, it's contaminated now. Untrustable ever again.
Also preemptive, full quarantine and examination of any surviving pdf members.
>>
>>4195714
Nothing a little purity seals and repressed technophile techpriests can't fix.
Usually Space Marines are super zealous about charging in and fighting, right? On the plus side we have a lot of guns, some almost space marines, a bottle neck killzone, and big guns. Although you sorta of have a point. However, it's a bit too late now.

>>4195554
I liked this anon's idea. Would it be such a bad idea to order the big guns to shoot the portion of the bridge that connect the ship to the Space Hulk to separate conventional means of crossing? Can we aim the big gun?

Any way the team in the engine room could collaborate with the Techpriest to activate the engines to push to ship away?
>>
>>4195714
That bad writing, empower forgive me.
Seriously though, dealing with a space hulk is like disarming a landmine: only a matter of time until it blows up in your face.
Also the pysker program is an extremely bad idea in everyway. We can just requisition some more trained pyskers from our uncle. Untrained/weak/unbound pyskers easily draw warp entities/demonic incursions like rats bring disease. Especially as we JUST had warpstorms ease up, bad timing to be fucking with the warp my friends
>>
>>4195733
The Space Hulk game demonstrated just how shit canned fighting Tyranids can get, but we're already on there. Fuck if I know, maybe fire the side guns of the ship and pray that the recoil of the guns causes it to be pushed away? ( >>4195554 would that work?)

Right. That was before I knew that training Psykers was extremely illegal. That's a my bad. Should we just put all our Psykers in a gellar field box building until the Black Ships get here? What if we just give them to our uncle? is there no way to just keep training them and deck them out in a shit ton of holy icons?
>>
>>4195731
Even if we get the frigate detached In Time, weed either turn it over to the local lord or keep it. One would certainly be an act of heavy aggression/almost piracy (even the smallest escort ships are stupidly expensive and time consuming to make or are proud ancient battelscarred relics) the other would easily allow the genestealer taint to spread to the planet nearby. (These things are insidious and extremely proficient at infiltrating societies. They can even infect the survivors with there taint through wounds).

TLDR: this frigate is radioactive one way or another.
>>
>>4195752
Apply more guns? Once we separate we can do an in depth scan by sending in a shit ton of servitors, robots, plus whatever techniques the imperium uses to hunt them down. We'll hold onto the frigate for a month's time to make sure the ship is absolutely genestealer free. Once that's done we'll give the ship back and use our word swords to ask for compensation for saving his ship IN ADDITION to purging it of the cursed xenos presence.
Once the ship is away from the Space Hulk and we managed to purge a majority of them, would the Tyranid presences be small enough to use a Pysker to weed them out, or would that still be too dangerous?
>>
>>4195750
No worries.
Almost all pyskers outside of the most potent/heavily monitored are either unable to handle the rigors of pyskic training required to be trusted/not a walking timebomb or are EVENTUALLY brought to the emperor himself to be bound(and thus protected from demonic influence) to a spark of his soul. This too kills/cripples/mindfucks most pyskers. That's what the black ships are for, food for the emperor and/or binding/training of the most powerful/resilient/lucky pyskers in the Scholastica Psykana.
Those two outcomes are extremely closely monitored by his holy inquisition, fucking with it or going around it in anyway is .........problematic to long-term health and prosperity.
Our uncle? Maybe. Keep them for decades or centuries? Unlikely. A bullet and a pYre? A mercy.
>>
>>4195752
But beyond how shit fucked the situation might be, what should we do with the Space Hulk at large? Call some Space Marines to deal with it? Hire lots of mercs to clear it out? Call up dear old uncle and collaborate with him and the Governor of the neighboring planet to see if we can accumulate a large enough collective force to take the Space Hulk from the xenos? I want to say nuke it, but I think that might risk chunks of ships with genestealers in them to fly everywhere.

Mmmmmm. What if we..... what if we picked a single point on the ship and started a campaign to kill as many of them as we can? We'll free a space ship one at a time, give it a year to clear each of them out, and rinse and repeat?

Do you know if there are any tractor beats or something? You know sci-fi beams that pulls things closer to you, but in this case pull the docked Frigate to us?

>>4195773
Ok. That makes sense. So what if we cancel the program but collect the Pyskers in a camp / building with an anti space magic field where they live relatively comfortably? Maybe we should call our Uncle for his insight.
>>
>>4195763
Not impossible, just really dicey.
The genestealers are the special forces of Tyranids, going behind enemy lines is there mo. They'd enter a kind of hibernation in the small city like sized vessel. Could we find everyone or qarentie noone gets infected when we do find them? 100% , no. So it's all a risk. Your call, I say no kill like overkill.
Not sure about pyskers, I'd say limited effectiveness. Tyranids have a ....unusual relation to the warp, like a kind of "shadow in the warp". Not sure if genestealers have that.
>>
>>4195752
naah, it is not that bad. If we can deattach the ship right now, (by shooting the airlock zone) we, or local governor can just give it a good slow methodical cleanup, it is not that big of a ship for it to be impossible.
>>
>>4195790
What if we kill as much as we can and hand the trouble over to our uncle then? We probably get paid and we don't have to deal with the issue of a Space Hulk.

You also bring a good point about a potentially infected shit. Maybe we say "I apologize Lord Governor Alexander Viggan, but at this very moment I cannot in good faith return this frigate back into you control for feat of any hibernating tyanid or genestealer that may have escaped our sensors. if but one was able to make it to your world, it could spell potential doom. Therefore, I must hand this vessel over to more capable hands such as Lord Matheuz Blackwood."
>>
>>4195785
Well, that's kinda the problem. I was shitting myself alittle when he said space hulk because it's simply out of our weight class to handle in any meaningful way.
Call space marines to take a shot at it? Sure!
We can take a chance at it of course, and if it were anything else on it (OTHER xenos, chaos, orks, or just plain abandoned) I'd have agreed to slow but steady cleanse/loot what we can. But genestealers are like a plague and an insidious one at that. We wouldn't even know if we failed to isolate from them completely until it was too late. Remember a space hulk is rocks/ships debri/lost ships all smashed together (roughly the size of a large metropolis to a small continent) and floating for 100s or 1000s of years randomly in the warp(aka phychic demon realm) until they randomly pop back in to our reality.....almost always temporarily. This is a treasure, that's haunted, will randomly disapear at a moment's notice and is CURRENTLY acting as a trojan horse of visions intelligent alien terrorists.

And I'd remind you....they already slaughtered the entire ship our men are on.....do you really think they just up bad left it afterwards?....

Many of the ship's on this thing will be damaged/destroyed/xenos/ancient/ or take days or weeks to break free if at all.
(We could easily playy an entire campaign about clearing and harvesting a space hulk btw)

No tractor beams I've ever heard of. Sorry.

We could house the latent pyskers, in a Gellar field (anti warp field) however there usually used on space ships the size of cities...and are complex and expensive.
Yeah best option you've mentioned is our uncle taking them somewhere else. We don't exactly have a phone number for any inquisitors to ask for a garbage pickup.

I honestly think cutting and running (with or without the firestorm frigate) is the best plan. That space hulk can doom a system. We do not have what it takes to stop it, period. We hope it leaves soon, or we call in support and grab our butts. Of course we could send our forces on a suicide run to loot and scoot as much as possible.
>>
>>4195800
Your not wrong. It's possible, I just don't like the risk for a frigate we don't REALLY need. Still, you are right.
>>
>>4195826
That might work, he IS kinda our connection to the outside world for now.
He'd be better equipped to clean it then we would.
>>
>>4195859
send troops on a suicide mission for them only to find 1 singular archotech fork? hell yeah
>>
>>4195866
Hahaha, that settles it. The archeofork must be reclaimed for the imperium of man, men! To arms!!!
>>
>>4195859
and it is still not clear are those genestealers or just usial animal-like tyranids. On the other hand they were smart enought to destroy all of the computers, so I guess betting on the genestealers would be safer
>>
>>4195865
Yeah. You made a good point about the Hulk being a Trojan Horse. We'll save the Frigate to leave it stranded, get the Governor to pay our uncle a finders fee to power clean the ship, and get our uncles council on what to do with the Hulk. He'll know if it'd be a good idea to call up Space marines or not.

We'll also need to stripe each and every trooper and screen them.

>>4195866
Maybe if we had a penal legion. Think about the Thones we'd earn for finding an STC or some Space Marine relic.
>>
>>4195871
"animal-like tyranids" are pretty much just tyranids. We found no bodies anywhere, so it's safe to say we're dealing with both Genestealers and tyranids. You know because tyranids can turn humans into genestealers.
>>
>>4195872
>>4195878

Truth. Though I hate penal legions. Prisoner soldiers are ALWAYS less effective then professional soldiers.
I second the palm to safe/strand/blackmail for uncles services.(that's a very rogue trader thing to do btw)

Yes, the genestealers can infect people through open wounds caused by there claws (sharp enough to cut through heavy power armor) and inject ....kinda tadpoles thingies. These will slowly turn a person's mind, and eventually there body to a small degree. It will make them heavily influencable by Tyranids organisms and massively increase breeding drive. The trick is any proginy they have will be HEAVILY mutated towards a genestealer. So you get a brainwashed cult, that in a few rapid generations turns into full fledged genestealers. Rinse, repeat.
>>
>>4195945
So the guards that used to be in this ship are either dead, or going through the long process of becoming a fully fledged genestealer?
>>
>>4195958
oh yeah, everyone who is taken is either a biomass for tyranids or a host for a genestealer
>>
>>4195958
>>4195963
95% biomass (food/production material) 5% ...less host, more....gradual sleeper agent. It's there children and grandchildren that will be hybrids/full blood genestealers.
A common tactic by genestealers specifically is to randomly leave wounded survivors tat eventually get carried back by there wouldlbe saviors. They get treatment for minor wounds and then start to act strange days or weeks latter.
>>
>>4195992
They start forming orgies, gangs, cults etc. That's why there so dangerous, there practically invisible, then they actively hide from you and undermine your government. Then one day, bam! More Tyranids.
>>
>>4195992
yes, I know how those work, thank you.

There is a tense moment of near silence over the vox channel, as you can hear the distant screeching and sound of something approaching the troops around the airlock...

As a backup plan you have the fiery hand position itself to fire on the airlock section, targeting it with its thermal lance weapons....

The airlock controls are not responsive from the bridge and the men there have had to forcefully seal the heavy blast doors of the airlock best they can using muscle and teamworl. With the airlock not responding to commands the explosives will have to be used....

Most of the Geno-warrior company holding the airlock are pulled back leaving just a squad with the explosives and void sealed armor to hold the airlock and trigger the bombs....

As the last explosives are placed and set around the door, the noise gets louder and louder, and the men start firing their weapons into the airlock corridor.

Drawing their melee weapons the geno warriors are forced to fight near the gap to hold it.....
>>
>>4196827
Discipline and the hot-blood of battle quickly consume the geno-warriors as several of the creatures breach through the gap in the airlock and engage your men in close combat, with the vox channel rendered effectively useless by loud war-cries and the screams of the wounded and dying, along with the violent screechs of the beasts....

You can only make out one phrase "For the Emperor!" before the explosives are triggered, blowing apart that section of the ship, leaving it exposed to the void, and violently ripping it away from the space hulk, with debris flying everywhere, including on to the planet below....

The squad holding the airlock has been wiped out to a man, and likely the beasts that breached as well....

While sad that your men fell in battle, you sigh a breath of relief and loosen your grip on the command throne, as the frigate was succesfully recovered, although you still wish you had a chance to loot the space hulk....
>>
>>4196827
I also wanted to say to you guys that I agree with what you are saying about a deep cleansing of the ship and extreme checks for anyone with signs of infection, but our character would likely not know much about genestealers or tyranids. >>
>>4196839
With this your are notified by the tactical officer that there are some large chunks of debris falling onto to the planet, more so than before, as apparently small pieces of debris had been falling onto it the entire time we have been in the system, the relatively inexperienced officer believing that to be a normal feature of space hulks.....

You are hailed on the Vox from the planet

"Blood hell, Blackwood, what the name of the Emperor are you doing up there?"

The Governor is livid, as several pieces of debris have destroyed homes, most landing in or around the major cities in the northern hemisphere

You try to explain that the crew of the ship wasn't found but all signs point to their deaths, and that the hulk is infested with an extremely dangerous type of Xeno.

The Governor does not believe you, and goes on an angry tirade blaming you for his ship being crippled and his city being damaged, accusing you of tricking him and trying to take the treasures on the space hulk for yourself......

Your tactical officer detects high powered augur sensor sweeps of your ships and energy spikes on the planet, as it seem several anti-orbital defense weapons have been activated...

The techpriest on the damaged frigate, believes it can move under its own power, including warp travel for at least a short trip, although it will need work, particularly on the interior systems to bring back to full effectiveness

You are also notified by the Bold Venture's Astropath that your Uncle has confirmed he received your message and the distress signal and that he is coming to the system in the next few days with several ships.....

Ultimately you send a message to your uncle that you are leaving the system due to the Governor's hostility and inform him you saw strange debris fall on the planet.

Should we take the frigate with us?

A. Take it for ourselves
B. Leave it behind for House Viggan to reclaim
C. Other(Write-in)
>>
>>4197593
On one hand, if we leave it I think he'll just try to immediately go and chase after us and try to kill us for some non existing treasure. On the other hand if we take it he'll probably snitch and say we stole it, but he might also need it to kill all the xenos. Overall, my consensus is:
>A. Take it for ourselves
>C. Other(Write-in)
We're going to hold onto it and find an expert on aliens because we think he's an incompetent ass hat who can't even retrieve his own planet bumpkin ass ship. We'll keep it quarantined. Alien knowledge or none anyone who was involved with the boarding of the frigate is to remain there (or transported to a heavily isolated medical facility to be thoroughly examined, because filthy xenos be weird. Is this meta friendly or nay?

Does ANYONE in our crew and the veteran mercenaries we hired know a single thing about tyranids and genestealers? Anything at all? We got thousands of me so I hope they can pool in their collective knowledge regarding this matter.
>>
>>4197593
I say we leave it, in hopes our uncle and his resources can scan/repair/cleanse it of foul xenos taint before the governor reclaims it. Even if he tried to attack is, he could just call in his allies to help him. A frigate won't really matter at that point.
Better to have the excuse "we left the ship to be quarantined of xenos filth" then to take it and appear even more like thieves.>>4197634
I don't see it likely any of our mercenaries would be familiar with Tyranids beyond, they exist, are xenos and are seriously scary. Let alone genestealer infestation methods. This is a galactic threat, and considerable lengths are taken to forbid such "dangerous knowledge".

You decide to take the frigate with your ships, but rather than leave the system immediately, you hide behind the space hulk from the planetary defenses, scrambling communications and blocking any planetary based scanners from looking at your fleet.

You opt to wait for your Uncle to arrive, as his political heft and wise council could perhaps convince the Governor to regain his senses, or at least provide insight into dealing with the Space Hulk.....
>>
>>4198384
Your Uncle arrives in the system with 3 ships the next day, his massive Grand Star Galleon and flagship, The Blade of Avarice, along with a freighter and escort frigate.

He sends a message over the Vox, requesting to meet in the depths of the system, and to take a shuttle over with your senior staff , to have a meeting on the current situation...
>>
I can see this ending in a few ways
>Uncle Blackwood comes and help sort things out. We talk down with the Governor, fix the xeno issue, save his planet and return his ship after getting paid.
>He somehow slips a message and some imperium ships come and attack us.
>some imperium ships come and attack the hulk.
>some space marines come and attack the hulk.
>we're fighting tyranids
>we're fighting tyranids on BOTH ships
>we fight anything but dont get paid and suffer more losses.
Bruh I just want to compensate our men.
>>
>>4198399
You quickly dress up into one of your nicer uniforms, and gather the Captain of the Fiery Hand, along with your Master-at-Arms and several of your military officers.

After a quick shuttle ride, you board the Avarice Blade and are led, along with your men to massive conference room, part of your Uncle's personal quarters, with the finest furniture and various art and artifacts dotting the room, each more priceless than the last....

Your uncle keeps you waiting for several minute before appearing from the depths of his personal quarters, administrative official trailing him with dataslate in hand.

"Jakob!, how is very favorite Governor?"

"Please sit!, I'll have one of my finest bottles brought out for the group" He says as he points to a massive gold and jewel inlaid dining table

"Don't mind Tiago here, he can be trusted" he says pointing to the man behind him

"So I see theres a bit of trouble here with the space hulk"

"I did business with the last Viggan Governor, and this one sounds even worse than his father, who was a greedy paranoid fool, running a succesful industrial world into the ground in just one generation....."

"fill me in on what's happened so far"

You detail coming to the system and your interactions with Governor Viggan, as well as boarding the frigate and blowing it off the space hulk. Finally you attempt to describe the beasts, but all you have are a few vox recordings of combat with them. very little detail on their appearance....

Upon telling this to your uncle, he strokes his beard, in thought, before telling you, he would like to send a team to the frigate to investigate it, and if you have seen any debris land on the planet from the hulk.....

When you tell him that you've detected several pieces of debris falling on the planet, even before the frigate explosion, his face briefly expresses concern before he returns to his regular smug poker face....
>>
>>4198557
He then addresses the table
"So, I need to tell you why I came myself and why I gathered you all here today"

I have been tracking this hulk for over a decade and I believe it to be space hulk #7462

Rumored to be deep inside the hulk is an artifact of great value to Ecclesiarchy, the Ossified heart of Saint Galatin, a mighty general who won a hundred battles in holy war against the xeno and the heretic, its very presence supposedly able to strengthen the courage and resolve of nearby faithful and inspire fear and self loathing in the Emperor's enemies.....

I have brought with me a special regiment of stormtroopers I have raised over the last few decades for the express purpose of boarding ships and hulks for loot and prisoner taking.....

With their strength combined, with those of your warriors, we could quickly secure the artifact and take it from the hulk.....

He outlines the general plan, before asking the staff and his assistant to leave the room for a few minutes so that the two of you may speak privately.

"Jakob, what I am about to tell you cannot leave this room under any circumstances, do you understand?"

"I believe I may know of what killed the frigate crew and your men on the hulk, I have taken to calling them body snatchers, as they have insectoid qualities, but can infect humans and have mind control abilities over those infected."

"They are extremely dangerous and any man who fights them must be extensively screened for infection afterwards....."

"I can tell you now, that while the artifact is of great interest to me, I have another purpose here, to capture one of the body snatchers alive, for testing and experimentation"

"I know a Magos who is interested in the Xeno's mindcontrol properties"

"While you lead most of the men to find the artifact, I will be leading a smaller team with the intent of encountering and capturing a small isolated group of the beasts...."
>>

We probably love our uncle dearly. Hes a cool man, and I know this is a time sensitive issue due to the apparent difficulty of tracking down space Hulks, but we should probably afford a scant few moments to think:
>What should we do about the planet? The Govenor there made a compelling argument to NOT help him. What do we do about it AFTER we extract the artifact?
>Will the world need to be purged via exterminatus if the situation gets too terrible?
>Shall we pilfer the armory of our "borrowed" frigate to aid in the requisition of this artifact? This is less of a question and something we should do.
>Does our uncle have anything that could replace the war gear of our genowarriors for something better, at least for now? They are Astartes sized after all. We should be good on armor for our unaugmented infantry thanks to our last trade. Well, unless the frigate has better stuff, then we might as well use it. For the good of the Imperium of course.
>Consider several several distraction teams to make a lot of noise before retreating in the Hope's this lessens the difficulty of the main team. They make noise, attract attention, then reposition and repeat.
>Does he have any combat stimulants? For the troops?
>Is there any lore he can give us regarding this species of xenos, or does he know anyone reliable where we could gather more info after all of this is said and done?
>shall I have my men that boarded the Frigate be examined extensively and swapped out for a fresh set for boarding the hulk? Are there any easy symptoms to spot infections within their immune system and anatomy?
>note to self make extensive use of claymore explosives and of other varieties. Also all the explosives on the Frigate.
>So you know where exactly in the Hulk is the artifact? By any chance of good fortune do you have a route already planned through your decade of preparation?
>Is there a know weakness to this alien menace? Promethium Flamers? Flesh eating viruses? Both?
>Beyond the Artifact, does he know of any other artifacts that might be within, or anything more common that would be worth taking with us?
>Does he know if any of the ships might still be functioning for the purpose of turning on their automated defense systems for the purpose of killing, delaying, and distracting the foul xenon? If he doesn't then does he (and maybe if we ask out captain later) know where to look? I'm hoping there might be turrets and servitors we could reactivate.
>Later we should talk to a few of our tech-priests to keep any eye out for anything interesting and tell us what technological things we should keep an eye out for in case it would be of any aid or worth.

Most likely very little, but thats beside the point, exterminatus will not carry out by first because it would be very stupid at this point. for two reasons not necessary yet and its very dangerous to one who does and we are not in anyway in the position to do that call and second i dont think we have any PKs.
>>
>>4198623
Your uncle has little to no information on the space hulk, aside from a legend about the heart of St. Galatin.

His stormtroopers are a specially trained elite unit, who perform this specific role on a regular basis.

He may be able to equip our men with some extra/improved gear but I wouldn't expect much

He recommends we use close combat weapons, such as shotguns and flamers, along with chainswords and powerweapons against the beasts. Also to set up chokepoints within the hulk, manned by heavy weapons crews.

He thinks its unlikely that we will be able to reactivate and take control of any automated defense systems in the hulk, as they have been warped by centuries or millenia in warp space, in addition to normal wear and tear.

He is not aware of any other artifacts, but says that there are often times ancient gear and technology that can be taken/salvaged

Our native troops are acquainted and are armed and trained with lasguns for the most part. The geno troops are mostly armed with lasguns/laspistols and chainswords and reinforced carapace armor while the regular troops wear karelian carapace or regular flak armor, and are armed with lasguns, combat knifes and grenades

You brief your troops on the plan, based on scans of the hulk, your team believes they have identified the Vault of Plenty, a merchant freighter that went missing a millenia ago on the outside of the hulk, based on your understanding of the designs of the old freighter, you plan to have three separate shuttles cut holes in the hull and enter in an old cargo bay, which hopefully will be relatively open, and make for a good staging area for our operations on the ship...

A detachment of your uncles elite stormtroopers will initally lead the landing, followed up by your troops and finally your uncle and yourself....

Alright everyone keep an eye out for dead Astartes or something. They might have power weapons on them.

With any luck the merchant freighter might have sealed crates with weapons or something in it's old cargo bay, but one can hope.

The intitial breaching goes well, with no resistance encountered, and what apppears to thousands of opened crates of freeze-sealed rations, which have been consumed, their wrappers scattered everywhere, all over the cargo hold area. The first wave quickly secures the surrounding corridors and uses old crates to build barricades, establishing strong points along the only access points to the area, as the rest of your forces land on the ship. The entire landing process takes several hours as the entire force is shuttled onto the hulk, all counting almost 2000 troops, with the shuttles making frequent supply runs, bringing ammo, medicine and food for the assault force....

Well equipped with auspex scanners by your uncle, small teams of stormtroopers fan out to scout out the hulk, generating maps as they go, and maintaining constant contact with the main force.

The hulk becomes more twisted and distorted the further into it the teams venture, with several damaged doors and entry ways having to be cut through with plasma torches or small breaching charges....

The first major find, is what appears to be cargo hold filled with a delivery for the Imperial Guard Containing 100 Leman Russ tanks, including several rare variants, along with their fuel and ammunition, crates of lasguns, with power packs, a few crates of flak armor and helmets, and finally several heavy lockboxes, containing power-swords, at least 40 or 50.

However it will take time to get most of that off the hulk, and you don't see any way to get the leman russ tanks off, as the shuttles are designed for a light cargo work and passenger work....
>>
>>4199027
The next ship found in the hulk looks to be some sort of heavy cruiser from the early Imperium....

With the lower decks of the old ship too twisted to enter, teams explore the top decks and the bridge, having to use breaching explosives on the heavy blast doors to the main bridge area....

There a dozen corpses on the bridge mummified and dried out by the stale sealed air of the armored bridge section....

Based on the drawn pistols, and the positions of the corpses, they were likely trapped on the bridge for some reason and took their own lives, with the Captain still holding an intricately designed plasma pistol in his hand, with most of his head now missing, it appears his crew followed suit.

Now what we can immediately do is crack open the lock boxes and put those power swords to use. One for us, some for our Boar boys, and some for the Geno-warriors. For those of ours that dont have Laguns, well they can replace their flak guns with them now. Everyone gets spare power packs because we will be pulling the trigger to our flashlights faster than a kid playing Time Crisis in an arcade. I dont know much about the paper armor, but would it be at all possible to punch a hole in this area later and just have a some people do some void jumping and hook these tanks out of here via space craft?

You have the men equip anything useful that can be used immediately, with anything of value, and rare/dangerous weapons, like the plasma pistol brought back for storage....

The teams exploring the hulk are able to continue scouting relatively unabated, facing no resistance and no encounters with the xenos living aboard....

One of the teams makes another interesting find, a ship, looking to be Imperial designed but very old has been found, with several decks accessible.

The old ship carries this badge over some of the bulkheads and doors....

After breaching their way in, they have found two stasis shielded, heavily armored vaults in the old ship, that look to be undisturbed by time itself....

It takes several hours, including bringing in several techpriests to deactivate the stasis shields, and a large amount of explosives and cutting to get through the heavy blast doors....

The first vault contains rows of purple power armor, rows of bolters, ammunition and several rarer weapons, including plasma guns, melta guns, and even extremely valuable volkite pistol. Along another row are melee weapons, mostly chainswords but dozens of power weapons and force weapons on the racks as well. Finally there is an ancient space marine dreadnaught, sitting empty....

The second vault reveals something even more interesting....

Several shelves, lined from floor to ceiling with small slightly glowing orbs, based on the pict captures, your uncle tells you he thinks this is some sort of old mobile gene-seed vault. The words Thousand Sons are inscribed on one of the shelves, but data searches reveal nothing on a space marine chapter going by that name....

Unfortunately, the explosions to open the vaults seem to have alerted the body snatchers, as several of the most forward teams report screeching and the sounds of movement of hundreds or thousands of creatures in the depths of the hulk....

The most forward teams report that they are entering older and older ships in the depths of the hulk, and progress is slowing as the deeper they go the more tangled and twisted the ships are....

And we havent even accomplished our main goals yet....

Excuse me if this sounds dumb, but what if we just continue forward? Yes I do not doubt that many of our men will die, but I'm kind of hoping for that. For educational purposes of course. You know get our native soldiers to understand just what kind of threats they should expect out there in the future, and to hopefully consider our choices for our people with a little more thought then to be outraged.

Also, if wee enact turning prisoners into slaves with their duration of enthrallment dependent on the severity of their crimes, do you guys think this could increase our standing with the mountain people and the genolords. On one hand, we can replace whatever existing slaves the genolords have with convinces that will be broken in. On the other this will allow the geno-lords their slave quota far beyond years of our first slave related ruling where they have to give up 10% of their slaves. So having some slaves is better than having no slaves in the far future. Everyone wins.

>>4203682
Would it be possible to create a force world on any of the moons in this solar system, or on the second planet, or would that be too costly and time consuming? The capacity to manufacture volkite weaponry would be invaluable. Would we need an STC to make a volkite weapon?
>>
>>4203745
We don't have anybody to wear it, yet. If we don't keep the armor and weapons then what of the geneseeds? No doubt that the seeds might be purged and possibly along with the armor if deemed to heretical to keep?

nah, this shit is pre-horus heresy, so saint and absolutely OP. But our character doesn't know about it. Also I don't think there is a way we could get somebody to wear it(exept some very, VERY heretical options). So just passing it up to space marines seems like a good idea
>>
>>4203780
Still not seeing why we can't utilize the technology. The Geno-warriors are almost as big as Space Marines, and if we just get put them through the process of sticking gene seeds in kids then we aught to have our own brand of space marines in a few decades.

Then again we could also talk to our uncle and get his council on what to do with all this Pre- Heresy stuff. It might be worth millions, possibly billions of thrones. Quantity over quality and what not when determining what to do with all this armor.

At the very least I hope we can still get those Lemun Russ tanks. There'd have to be an entrance for them. Just blow a hole out then get some dudes to do some void walking to connect them to cables so we can pull them into our own holds.

>>

>>
>>4203860
Geno-warriors most likely dont have the implants to use this armor.

And it would be most likely heresy to make our spacemarine assuming we even could, however gene seeds are still very valuable.
>>
>>4204639
We could look into methods of acquiring all the components for making a space marine. Again I see nothing heretical about this.
>>
>>4204719
It’s heretical because only the high lords can approve the creation of a chapter.
>>
>>4204639
>>4204719
Starting your own space marine program would be highly illegal and heretical, as normally the permission of the admech and high lords themselves.

The implants required for Space marines are more advanced and would require special equipment and expertise that would be hard to come by in the imperium.
>>
>>4204737
Ah here it is. I wished you guys offered a link and quote
https://warhammer40k.fandom.com/wiki/Space_Marines
>It is only by an edict of the High Lords of Terra that such an undertaking as the creation of new Chapters can be instigated, for it requires the cooperation and mobilisation of countless divisions within the Imperium's monolithic and vast governmental organisations.

>>4204741
What're the odds of the High Lords approving? Probably very low? Maybe uncle might know what we should do with these.
>>
>>4203860
Making space marines is a big no, only the high lords can do that. And space marines are in chapters not under governors.
We can still make the gene-warriors far better than now with improvements on their training, genetic material, bloodline matchings, equipment made for them (asking for the creation of a new pattern for our new imperial regiment) and the addition of mechanical/biological implants used in the guard.
Power armors are not exclusive to space marines, but the ones used by other humans are more limited (inquisitors, sororitas, planet governors with maybe a few of their personal guards ecc) in what they can do. They are still incredible and useful but below the Sm ones. Power armor is very costly so making a type specific for our guard would be very expensive. In the previous quest we did buy one for our governor and it did cost.
>>
>>4204743
Generally bureaucracy and things in the imperium in general take a very long time, and are subject to the deep corruption and inefficiency of the government. For game purposes I speed things up sometimes as well as the fact that we occupy the top rung of the social ladder, and can take shortcuts others can’t take.

Also as a governor on the frontier, we have more leeway than most governors and less attention from imperial authorities than normal

You order the men to keep pushing, committing 2 additional companies of Geno-warriors to secure parts of the hulk....

As you secure increasing parts of it, you have men with wheeled carts and using their brute strength to carry items of value back to the cargo bay for transport back to our ships, including the old space marine gear and the geneseed, with a techpriest overseeing the unbolting of the dreadnaughts weaponery and disassembly to bring back to our ship....

As you are listening to reports of growing signs of an iminent attack on some of the most forward scouts you receive a piece of good news...

Your Uncle, using unknown means, has managed to trap and capture several of the creatures, who have been caged, and heavily sedated, completing that part of the objective.

While you still do not totally understand what your Uncle is doing you trust him, and you are glad that he is coming back to the well-secured part of the hulk....

You then get another piece of good news, one of the forward teams has found the heart of Saint Galatin, still inexplicably in its gold plated, armored relic case....

Prayers and thanks to the God-Emperor are heard from all over the Vox Channel, as the team who found it reports getting a sense of calm, confidence and strength simply from being in the presence of the holy relic.....

You are ordering them to take it and pull back to safety, when you hear gunfire over the vox along with screams of pain and defiance for several seconds before the vox signal from the advance team goes dead....

>>
>>4204979
We can improve the geno warriors already, using the gene seed ins t necessary at all.

Because making space marines is not possible without getting kill, you don t get to pass them as something else if they are space marines. Besides producing their equipment and give them their training is quite difficult for someone at the edge of space and that barely has a developed planet.

You send a company of your geno-warriors into securing the relic....

You have a slightly sick thought of this being a win-win for you, as the geno-warriors are proud warriors of noble stock, and have not generally responded well to traditional tactics and teamwork, being extremely prideful and unwilling to take orders and advice from your mercenary trainers....

The survivors will either be blooded and understand the value of such knowledge, or they will die to a man, and provide an example for the rest of their kind.....
>>
>>4204994
Wait a second there anon. Aren't the Primarius marines the ones that are roughly 3 meters and or taller while in power armor? I thought the regular marines are the ones that are 8 feet while in power armor. I might be wrong though. Also would it be
>of Ceramite and augmented muscle
Because Iron is weaker and less refined than Ceramite and chemically treated steel?

>>4205022
Eh give it time. Two centuries from now, if an Inquisition gets one look at any of our Geno Warriors we're probably dead regardless. Alright so maybe we can't make our own space marines, at least not yet? What we can do is perhaps adjust the armors so they are suitable enough for the Genowarriors to wear. Either down grade them a bit, upgrade the warriors with some cybernetics, maybe both.
Again.

>>4205031
Not paint over it per say. Now true I don't know much about warhammer lore, but surely there would be a way to remove the colors. The top most layer is made of ceramite right? Just remove the ceramite and get a new layer. When there is a will, there is a way.
Well to be fair there are millions of worlds and so many Inquisitors. being on the fringes means it's gonna take a long time for them to get around to us on the bottom of their inquisitorial inspection list, right?
So. What if we just study the gene seed?

>Personal i think we should "donate" space marine stuff and gene seeds to admech or/and the Inquisition mayde as Imperial Tithe.
Ok I want to admit that's a brilliant idea. We won't be deemed heretical for for trying to make space marines, and we might get on the good side of the admech or inquisitor we give them too. if they're smart they'll probably put them to use.
I'm still a bit adamant for giving up all of the space marine gear. The Dreadnaught, Terminators and standard Astares armor I understand we should give away, but what if we keep at least a small handful of the stuff for us? Maybe, a set of terminator armor for us? I still really want to keep all the Force, Chain, Bolter, Plasma and other weapons for us. At least the Geno warriors don't have to be full Astares to use them.

>>4205048
To be double fair if they wore those iron halos or put those sideways broom things on their heads they could be exactly 3 meters tall.
>>
>>4205034
So that's roughly about 80–150 to the slaughter. Good thing we still have a bunch of them left.
Were shields included in the in the weapons vault?
>>
>>4205040
It s native stuff and if it would have been heretical the priests and tech priests with us would have say something. And doing modifications without using the geneseed and Sm equipment wouldn't make it heretical, because they are normal modifications. We would be making an elite guard regiment but if we don t use the Sm stuff an inquisitor has no problems neither anyone else. Is just very expensive but with what we have on our planet it makes sense for us to create an elite regiment.
No we simply can t. The complexity we need for that are too high and is too ambitious.

At best you can study them learn maybe a basic thing and then downgrade them. Hoping it works while you do that.

The plan is a complete success, as the flanking team encountered a massive beast surrounded by just a few of the lesser beasts, and were able to slay it, with no casualties, pouring half a dozen melta shots with a healthly dose of flamer bursts and shotguns shells for good measure into it, while the rest of the beasts were slain relatively easily.

With the great beast slain, your geno-warriors found the beasts broken, fleeing in fear and only fighting when cornered, where many were surrounded and cut down.

The relic is recovered and quickly brought back to the ships.....

Just as things seem to be relatively calm and secure, the hulk starts shaking violently....

The Fiery Hand, looking for the source of the shaking with its sensors, cruises just out from behind the cover of the space hulk to see that the Acheron Planetary defenses are engaging the hulk, with several thermal lance batteries, slowly but surely cutting through the hulk......

They capture a vox signal sent to your fleets general location, full of insults, threats and the almost incoherent rage fueled rambling of Governor Viggan......

On the recommendation of one of your salvage teams, you pull the Bold Venture up directly to the hulk, exposing one of your hangar bays, where salvage crews have cut a massive hole in the side of the old freighter carrying the Leman Russ tanks, and using cables are able to pull them out and accross into the hangar bay on the Venture.

Your tactical officer has told you that they think the structural integrity of parts of the space hulk are beginning to fail.....

Get Uncle on this Vox chat and see if the combined swauve of the two of them can tell the Govenor to stop before the hulk kills their planet. Failing that maybe Vox in the people maning the planetary defense weapons that if they keep firing that more of the aliens will make landfall. Also they should probably stage a revolt. This is hat is the reason their planet is down a frigate and currently overrun by foul xenon. His family has ran their once prosperous planet to the ground.

Load tanks as we leave? We'd need to finish loading the tanks first. Shoot. I wonder how much of this ship is still infested with these aliens.

I'm leaning towards A, but only if we can convince the Govenor or the people manning the Planetary Defense Lasers to stop firing. He should remember that we still have his Frigate under our possession. The original intent was to have it purged of xenos before returning it for fear of infesting his planet, but that seemed to have happened already.

So we gotta do something. How about if he stops shooting the Hulk and fucking himself over even further than he has, we'll give him the damn Frigate back. Literally he is putting not just himself, but the people of his planet at a detriment for their odds of surviving the Body Snatchers. The Planet Lasers generally require more energy than space faring ones, typically drawing power from Plasma reactors or local power grids which causes black outs. The latter would undoubtably hinder their PDF to a degree. This man is a muppet.

The Bold Venture is our own personal ship, and the Fiery Hand is the one that belongs to our fired mercenary band. The third belongs to, or had belonged to Viggan.

ask how much time we still have to our officer, then proceed to continue to loot the hulk until it becomes too dangerous and we leave.

Lieutenant Wainright, your tactical officer estimates less than 24 hours of sustained fire from the planetary defences before large pieces of the hulk begin to break off.....

You have most of the main force evacuate the hulk, but with the beast horde broken, you have several teams continue to scout it for items of interest....

On the far side of the hulk, in the newer section, your men find a small Karelian freighter, loaded with weapons, armor and several lockboxes full of Acuity, and Alacrity, a similar drug used for combat purposes.....

You along with your uncle attempt to hail the planet, and request they stop firing, saying that you suspect some Xenos have made planetfall with the debris and that you are willing to assist in dealing with them....

This time there is no response back at all, other than the defense batteries targeting the edge of the hulk where The Bold Venture had peeked out to send that message....

The men loot the Karelian freighter and begin pulling out of the hulk as it starts to shear and shake increasingly violently....

When you have confirmation that the last shuttle is off, you have the fleet pull back from the hulk only to see several pieces break off on to the planet....

However seeing that you have left it seems that the defenses have stopped firing, as perhaps the Governor thinks he scared you away....

>>4206964
No, and the best we can do to reach out is to do a wide-beam vox broadcast to his defense forces, although the Imperium does not take kindly to fermenting instability and unrest, even if for a "good" cause.

Our scans can pick up major cities, and weapons batteries, which are still charged, although they have stopped firing for now.

There are basically three choices that can be made with the Geneseed

Gift it- to an Imperial institution, will likely be given gratitude and possible rewards in return
(the most loyalist option but smallest reward)

Sell them on the black market- Imperial agents, and many, many other interested parties would pay large sums for geneseed on the black market

Keep them for ourselves, as we have some genetic experts from the Geno-Warriors, and your uncle has connections with all sorts of experts including a strong relationship with the local forgeworld.....
(This is the most risk, but high reward, as we have the wargear tor equip several companies of astartes in our possession already)

The post and options gives me the impressions that we already get the equipment. What's for debate is the geneseeds and drugs. A little unfair if we keep all the geneseeds and half the drugs, and the point of getting the Heart of Saint Galatin was so he could sell it to some people of tose super religeous folk that I cannot for the life of me recall the name of. the Echesiarchy? Them I think. What even would be the point of keeping it in the family?

>>4207330
Worry not anon. A single space marine geneseed would be worth it's weight in years requires to harvest them. Regarding the space marines, these would be "our" space marines. Space marines that will be "indoctrinated" to follow our machinations to protect our part of the sector and aid the Imperium in Man. The marines we could, potentially train should the conditions be optimal, will be willing to give them away. We're not going to give away every single spare geneseed as that would be too unreasonable and would be unsustainable for the purpose of maintaining a sufficient space marine presence. What we can do is sell a geneseed every few years. Through our uncle of course.
>>

If were to use them why would we waste on geno-warriors? gene seed are meant for children and they are already stronger than their pears. And even if were to give them to genos warrior we dont know would they survive
>>
>>4207393
>If were to use them why would we waste on geno-warriors?
As opposed to Astartes, Geno-warrior modding can be applied to adults. If The Geno-warrior creation process can be improved then that means adult turned geno-warriors would be more potent, in addition to the children converted geno-warriors being exponentially stronger.

>gene seed are meant for children and they are already stronger than their pears.
That much is already obvious yes. We all know the procedure to make a space marine is to implant the seeds into a child. So you know the option to donate the seeds to an Imperial institution? They're gonna use the seeds we give them for research. What if we do the same/ We examine, study, research, etc. a gene-seed to modify the geno-warrior making process. What you don't get is we DON'T put the seeds in the Geno-warriors. We STUDY the seeds and MODIFY the GENO-WARRIOR surgery.

>And even if were to give them to genos warrior we dont know would they survive
If you say it like that, then it could also be said that they might be able to survive. We won't know until we test that theory.

It's not explicitly said, but just mentioning it's of great value to the Ecclesiarchy, in addition the him being a Rogue Trader well. It's obvious what he's going to do with it. Though he could keep it. To be honest it would be put to most use of he sold it to the Ecclesiarchy.

>If we get the military hardware and geneseed, i'll be happy, he can have the artifact and the drugs.
That was an option yes. He's mainly here for the artifact in addition to that side gig of capturing some of the body snatchers.
>>
>>4207486
I figure if he kept it nearby while experimenting on xenos it might save his ass.
>>
>>4207489

Also he's not going to conduct research on the body snatchers/tyranids. he's capturing them to give or sell to some magos friend. Again he's the expert, he probably know what hes doing.

The majority seem to want to take the gene-seed....

You are in your uncles conference room, going over the transfer of all the regular military supplies.

As you tell him you want the all the gene-seed he agrees but tell you he would pay you 200,000 thrones for 10% of the stock and the old astartes equipment, less the volkite weapon, which he will allow you to keep, he doesn't seem to be interested in explaining to you his purpose for the seed, however the cash in itself is very attractive....

The thrones would help to bolster our planet's economy, in addition to working on improving the geno lords if we ever manage to increase our standing with them. In addition to other buisness ventures.

How much would it cost to build a planetary defense laser? Would the smaller defense guns for the orbital laser be included with the cost? How much for a reactor to power the laser and possibly be use for civilian purposes when not under threat of invasion?

The gene-seed while extremely valuable to any potential buyer, is going to be difficult to sell, as the type of people who are willing to give large sums for it are likely to be agents of Chaos, Organized crime or Imperial agents either of an institution or Wealthy Lord.

It would had been a tie between selling them to our uncle and keeping them if I kept to my originally vote selling them. I switched over to keeping them for now to break the tie holder a while back. They could take it the wrong way. Theres also the part about "you probably wont get a ship and just get a pat on the head for being a good servant of the Emperor." Theres also that little mention from the QM about giving the stuff to an admech/inquisitor for high loyalty but low reward.

Theres also the issue of the geneseeds belonging to the thousand sons which would cut into the possibility of ever getting anything in return for giving someone seeds that belonged to a traitor space marine chapter. I'm thinking this or focusing on domestic law enforcers and the Imperuim religion to install some sort of patriotism in our people to reduce the chances of people joining filthy xenos or turning to chaos. I guess domestic law enforcers would fall under the Arbites?

There's one other thing. Adding a little something to the slave law:
>>4202946
>Also, if wee enact turning prisoners into slaves with their duration of enthrallment dependent on the severity of their crimes, do you guys think this could increase our standing with the mountain people and the genolords. On one hand, we can replace whatever existing slaves the genolords have with convinces that will be broken in. On the other this will allow the geno-lords their slave quota far beyond years of our first slave related ruling where they have to give up 10% of their slaves. So having some slaves is better than having no slaves in the far future. Everyone wins.

Just to confirm. We did screen everyone and all our ships extremely thoroughly to make sure that everyone who was involved with the frigate and Space Hulk were isolated so we could perform an examination to confirm who is and isn't infected?

You have a wide-band broadcast sent out to the entire planet, declaring your peaceful intentions and status as the ruler of this planet, and as a member world of the Imperium of Man....

While you have no way of knowing they received the communication, the expedition waits several days, without response before launching the next phase of the plan...

Using some prefab shelters and ferrocrete quick dry material, an outpost is quickly established, nothing fancy but a few barracks, warehouses, dining hall, large vox array and a l landing pad, surrounded by a high wall, and some watch towers.

Far from any settlement spotted on the scans, you don't think its possible that any locals have seen your presence on the world yet.

Dozens of offroad trucks have been dropped at the outpost and can be used to scout the land itself or approach one of the settlements. A company from the Wild Boars and their valkyries are available at the outpost as well, to quickly respond to any signs of trouble.

You order a small party of enforcers and admin officials to land at their main settlement, guarded by a squad of massive Geno-warriors, in polished carapace armor and wielding lasguns, chainswords and bolt pistols.

The shuttle pilot intentionally takes a roundabout flight around the settlement before landing in a clearing a half mile away from the settlement itself.

The guards array in an impressive parade formation, as your admin staff await the local response....

They are met by a column of guards, armed with steel weapons and armored in chainmail and leather armor.

They precede the arrival of fancily dressed man, short and fat he is wearing colorful robes, embroidered with gold....

"I am the Grand Syndic of the Veche Republic of Volgrod"

"Who are you outlanders, and why have you come to the world's greatest city"

How should we make first contact with these people?

A few terrified peasants watch as your men grab the Grand Syndic, bind his arms and force him onto the shuttle, taking off back towards the outpost....

Upon getting there, he is tied to a chair in an empty storeroom and asked basic questions about the planet, its fortunate he speaks low gothic, albeit a heavily corrupted version with a strange accent.

You find out the main polities of the planet are trade cities of which there are 7, who fight over resources, trade rights and control of the outlying farmlands and villages with each other.

When asked about himself and how he came to be a leader of these people he responds

"My ancestors became the first Grand Syndics millenia ago, when we overthrew the barbarians from the stars and forced their scions to protect us"

"You should show me some respect!"

Your men press him on the barbarians from the stars and he gives you the ancient tale of the founding of the 7 Veche Republics....

Massive human barbarian warriors came from the stars and saved Volgrod, the nothernmost major city from a great horde of Varyagians.

At first celebrated as heroes, they soon slew the Kings and Great Lords of the planet and took their places, ruling callously and brutally over the human population.....

They began to become complacent and weak after years of living on estates, with servants at their beck and call....

Finally a rebellion was fermented by the Merchants, who were spared the culling of the worlds leaders, with servants killing their new lords in their sleep, and angry mobs gathering and murdering the Barbarian lords and their families....

The Barbarians tried to fight back but were too few, and finally, led by the most honorable of their Lords, came to an agreement with the people of the 7 Republics.

The Barbarians. in exchange for their lives, would give up their lordship and all claims on it.

Their leader led them north, in a campaign against the Varyagians and took several of their fortresses. Since then their descendants protect the lands of men from the Varyagians and farm and live off the land around the fortresses. They also send out parties to hunt dangerous beasts, particularly the massive bears, living in the wilderness, that are known to attack isolated villages. Due to the red cloaks they wear, they are known as the Red Brotherhood.

Your men get some other information out of him, on populations, relative wealth and technology, but learn nothing new, with the people in a regressed medieval state, with small populations and limited wealth(high by medieval standards)

What next?
A. Send a delegation to Volgrod with the Grand Syndic in tow, to announce your intentions for the planet

You have the Grand Syndic accompany your men, as they once again go to Volgrod....

This time the locals have gathered their forces, with hundreds of horse-mounted armored warriors being encamped outside the city, along with several thousand foot-soldiers, most notable is a few dozen towering red-cloaked warriors among them...

As the shuttle is noticed approaching, the army begins to form up....

How do we deal with this?

We have an airborne company standing by, as well as off-road trucks with mounted weapons, the airborne can be there in 3 minutes, the trucks a few hours.

The delegation is only 20 men, with a dozen guards and 8 enforcers/admins. The Grand Syndic has been brought along as well, and could be used as a hostage

(This is a write-in)

Xeno tech is highly illegal to own/trade with others, with only Rogue Traders and Inquisitors and other high level Imperials having legal access to them.

GW did a kind of Deus Ex Machima with Cawl, as he is a Archmagos who was sitting on a million super space marines and improved weapons and vehicles just waiting for the order to be released by Guiliman. I personally am not crazy about the new space marines or how that was handled.

On Xenos weapons, I think the only race that supplies its common soldiers with weapons humans could use is the Tau, obtaining Tau weapons tech could dramatically increase the firepower of an individual soldier as their main weapons are essentially plasma guns, that have traded some power for reliability, but are still capable of killing an armored space marine fairly easily, at least compared to trying to kill them with a lasgun

Coordinating with the Wild Boars airborne regiment, the delegation fearlessly marches out in crisp parade formation facing the army....

Using a loud speaker built into the shuttle, your representative relays the following

"We are here to bring this world into the fold of the Imperium of Mankind, and under the protection of the God-Emperor and his faithful servants, the House Blackwood."

"We are no mere band of opportunistic barbarians, but the vanguard of the might of the Imperium, your master, Lord Governor Jakob Blackwood, commands tens of thousands of warriors wielding weapons beyond compare"

On cue the Valkyrie gunships of the Wildboars fly over the army, circling a dozen times, the scream of their engines deafening to all nearby and strafe a forest, turning it into nothing but ashes and splinters in a few moments for all the army to see. Curses and prayers can be heard from the army, as the Valkyries pass over them once more.....

"We are returning your Grand Syndic to deliver our demands"

The Grand Syndic, clearly shaken is brought forward and allowed to run across the field to the waiting army...

After a few minutes of commotion, the Grand Syndic returns to cross the field, along with a half dozen others, including a warrior of the Red Brotherhood.

"We will host your delegation with a great feast, and have our warriors sheathe their weapons, but please send the deadly flying beasts away, they have terrified our people"

The Bold Venture is cruised into orbit around Halon Secundus as the final touches are made on the dinner party. Invitations were sent out and all of the cities, after a casual threat of orbital destruction and an offer of wealth and power beyond imagining have accepted your invitation to join you for dinner, with even a small party of the Red Brotherhood, including their Lord Commander...

The day quickly passes as you dress in your finest regal robes, and the final touches are put on the preparations. Based on the looks from the faces on the Lords of Secundus the shock and awe from being on a spacecraft above their homeworld has had the intended effect.

True Merchant lords, some of them immediately seem to sense the change in their situation and approach you, complimenting you and informally offering surrender and fealty as the rest of the lords file into the promenade.

As you understand it the gist of what they want is to remain in power as lords over the cities, controlling taxation ,trade and the administration of the city governments, however they are not interested in military affairs, and would be willing to pay a large % of their income to you in exchange for protection....

To your annoyance the Lord Commander of the Red Brotherhood does not approach you to grovel or ingratiate, but sits at his table, with a few of his brothers calmly looking around and speaking to each other.

You have to send a servant over to summon him to your table. The Lord Commander, whose name is Jace Dameron comes to speak with you. You immediately notice his large size, standing almost a foot taller than you.

You ask him about the Red Brotherhood

"Legend has it we are descended from barbarians who conquered this world and then were overthrown and cast out, the first Lord Commander led our people north to fight the Varyagians"

"Ever since we have fighting them for Merchant princes. We have an ancient device, used by the gene-priests of the order to enhance our warriors, the last gift of our barbarian ancestors from the stars"

"The Varyagians have grown strong in recent years and have been more and more aggressive, while the order is short of funds, recruits and supplies. With what I have seen of your ships and people, you could crush the Varyagians once and for all."

I recall back in the first thread or earlier on in this thread, that there exists giant lion like creatures that were deadly enough to kill some Geno-warriors. Would it be heretical if we asked an Genetor or similar kind of tech priest to make a sort of obedient servator our of the giant beasts?

Speaking of Genetor's, do we have any or sufficiently trained tech priests to study the Thousand Sons geneseeds for signs of corruption? I know it was void shielded and all, in addition too being in a vault, but you can never be too sure. Tcheese can be a tricky Mollusk.

"You will be pleased to know I have knowledge of your ancient ancestors"

You go on to tell him about the Geno-lords and even arrange a meeting with him and Tarius to see the logs and artifacts of the original Geno-Regiment. The Lord Commander seems very pleased and interested but his voice and demeanor quickly grow dour again as he seems to be thinking about something...

"But first, I need to secure aid for the Red Brotherhood, as our war hasn't stopped with your arrival"

He goes on to describe the war with Varyagians, and their brutal vicious ways. You are surprised to find out that they aren't human, which you had originally assumed, but a race of short stout white skinned creatures, who mostly live underground and seem to be able to cast frost magic...

Im not familiar with animal servitors, but it may be possible to capture and domesticate/breed them into warbeasts of some kind. It might be easier to set up preserves and establish hunting/tourism as a business venture and revenue source instead

Those are fair points, but you can never have enough cybernetics. Domestication + tourism sounds like a great way to drum up some revenue and attract people to visit our planet. Perhaps after a few years of domestication and training, we can throw some augmentations into the mix to make them even more formidable?

You mean for our men to wail on them, or to indoctrinate into serving us as shock troops? The former seems wasteful and the latter is questionable heretical is super loyal. Still wasteful in my opinion.

but think of all the thrones we could get to selling them to our uncle's Bio Magos. Well, maybe not thrones. It's not like there are a demand for these kind of aliens (yet) and there's millions of aliens everywhere, but I'm sure we might warm up to them. Sorta. It's a start to building up a decent rapport.

Found the thing I was looking for:
By the looks of this and Google, the Earth lions of old were bigger and heavier than these lions, or maybe these lions are bigger than then earth born lions due to the difference of evolution and planet's gravity affecting their size. Not really my place to say, but it's kinda pathetic imo that these genetically enhanced human warriors sometimes get their asses kicked by smaller lions. I understand that they're genuinely dangerous, but come on.

I had this idea that maybe they could be used as mounts, but then I saw the fact that they on average weighed 200-300 lbs. So ridding them is out of the question. They'd probably make for great attack pets though, and you gotta at least put SOME augmentations, bionics, or whatever you call them WH40K in these beasties.

https://warhammer40k.fandom.com/wiki/Bionics
>However, bionics are expensive and mostly limited to valuable servants of the Imperium, such as veteran warriors or skilled Adepts, high-ranking Imperial officials, Inquisitors, merchants, Rogue Traders, planetary rulers and members of the Imperial nobility who possess the required wealth.
Seeing as most Bionics are expense, maybe a standard augmented lion could have, I don't know. A replacement eye so you know what they see and can tag target for them to attack. Dermal plating consisting of one or a combination of Plasteel, Ceramite, and/or Armaplas. Maybe a combination of armaplas and ceramite similar to Carapace Armour. Some sort of Bone lacing using Armaplas, Plasteel, or aluminum might be a good idea to reduce the odds of bones breaking and fracturing. Could also give them a shock collar with an additional camera, omni-directional microphone, and speaker. Teeth made of metal would also be good against infantry, and possibly strengthened jaw.

idn I just want to talk about making cyborg big cats.

>if they are not psykers
That's a strange prerequisite. Are you saying you want to keep or kill them if they are psykers? because I guarantee that they are.
The think is, the Eldar are a warp sensative race, which means they got a bunch of psykers. Point being is a Genetors's or Bio Mago's job and passion is to cut up biological stuff and learn about what makes them tick. The fact that these Varyagians are a psychic race shouldn't stop us from capturing them and turning them over to our uncle's bud. Because if a Genetor was willing to cut up an Eldar, then why wouldn't they want to cut up a Varyagian?

KILL, but if they can be subdued, lets sell them to bio mago if they buy
>>
>>4215423
Judging by the pic, they're like the Falmer of Skyrim. I don't think we nessassary *have* to kill a majority of them. What we can do is utilize riot police tactics on top of utilizing heavy carapace geno warriors. Some grenade launchers, fast acting knockout gas canisters, heavy net guns modified to shock the shit out of you, oversized tranquilizer rifles.
Actually, considering the fact a majority of them live underground, all we would really need for an easy victory is a lot of gas to flood their hovels, then come in with some gas masks and clubs. The more test subject we bring, the higher the odds the Magos might appreciate our help. And maybe give us a little finders fee. Mostly it'd be the rapport building that would be of more value.
>>
>>4215253
Can the Brotherhood tell us what these aliens eat? Can they drink water?
>>
>>4215449
Do we even have tool to take them life, also there can be hundreds of thousands of them
>>
>>4215471
>take them alive?
Correction.
It shouldn't be hard to make IF they dont have those. Primus was already at Flak weapon levels of technology before we arrived. If need be we could wait a month to gather the materials needed to make the required capturing equipment. The grenade launchers would be a simple ordeal by making gas canisters, as I dont doubt they already made designs for those in the past. The net guns would probably take a week or so to design and another or more to make enough.

>also there can be hundreds of thousands of them
That would be beneficial to us. The more we'd have, the more we can give to the magos or potentially sell. Granted, a planet population of +100k of them wouldn't be located all in one room. With how confined it would be underground we'd at most encounter parties of a few dozen at a time. Maybe at worst a hundred.

Reposting cuz muh grammar errors.

I feel that your underestimating things. Overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer
>>
>>4215514
>you're
Not quite. I'm aware the dangers that psykers possess, hence the suggestion of utilizing knock out gas. It doesn't require troops to directly interact with the enemy, said enemy lacking the equipment to resist against chemical attacks.

>Overconfidence
Not quite right. Overconfidence would be to go down there and Rush B them into submission and believing that they would be no match against our superior combat prowess and technological advantage. That overconfidence has already been curbed thanks to our encounter in the Space Hulk. Nah. I think I'm more pragmatic that confident.

Do you have a more practical solution then?
>>
>>4215529
Kill those who stand in our way, slave other.

It will not give us so many slave buts it is more straightforward and simpler. So complications are less likely but if can get tools, i would like mix of two
>>
>>4215559
The pot calling the kettle black, but you are right in regards to simplicity. Killing them would be faster, however we wouldn't earn as many thrones or favors. Granted, we could still send the corpses to the Magos, but we probably wouldn't ear a whole lot for dead aliens. With the probability of losses on our side I still believe it'd be worth prioritizing the subduing and capture of the majority of them rather than killing the majority of them. Even if we have to invest a couple thousand thrones to produce all the specialized equipment, I'm sure it would pay for itself in the long run.

You agree to assist the Brotherhood against the Varyagians and have the Lord Commander speak to several of your commanders to draw up a basic strategy for defeating them, as you mingle with the other lords of Secundus accepting fealty and small gifts, their trip onto the Bold Venture persuading them to surrender their independence in exchange for the payment of tithes and your protection.

With that done you tun your attention to dealing with the Varyagian threat, redeploying 500 Geno-warriors and the full force of the Wild Boars mercenaries to Secundus. Based out of your outpost there, the men are prepped and ready to strike, with valkyrie and shuttle air transport being provided for your troops.

The Lord Commander, has given you the best intelligence he has on the current location of the enemy, with one of two strategies to pursue.

The first is a bold strike into their main city, which lies in a cave system, near to a Brotherhood outpost deep in the northern wilderness, where Brotherhood rangers keep watch on the threat. Rangers can guide our men straight to heart of the enemy from the outpost. It would be a short flight to the Brotherhood outpost and our aircraft can provide some limited support before the fight goes underground.

The other option is regroup for a large thrust into their territory from the line of Brotherhood fortresses, joining up with the main Brotherhood army and launching a general northern push taking every outpost, fort and village we come across, letting local forces secure them....

A. Launch a strike directly into the main Varyagian city
B. Launch a broad based northern push from the Brotherhood fortresses, alongside their main army

It would take days to clear every last one of them. In the mean time while we wait for our uncle's reply, let's commence with the culling. Do we have any night vision and thermal vision equipment for our troops? Do the Brotherhood know if these creatures are sensitive to light or sound considering they live underground? If they do, we could take advantage of that. Spam Flashbangs don'cha know, or give e them all tinnitus from firing our louded flak weapons.

You elect to make a broad push from the line of fortresses the Brotherhood hold.

You land at their main fortress, known simply as the Red Fort, for its red colored stone construction where you see the Red Brotherhood gather its warriors in the panolpy of war....

First among the massive red-cloaked warriors stands the most famous of the Brotherhood, even more well-known on Secundus than there Lord Commander. Ranger Captain Tage Serran, known for slaying dozens of the Varyagians in single combat, as well as human bandits. He is considered the greatest swordsmen the brotherhood has produced in several centuries.

He will be leading one of the pushes, while the Lord Commander and one of the other captains will be leading the other two.

You forces are split into 3 main groups following the Brotherhood forces, with several companies of droptroopers remaining in reserve...

The push into Varyagian territory goes extremely well, with modern weapons and vehicles slaughtering the primitive Xenos, who attempt to fight back with crude weapons of wood and iron, against lasers, advanced composite armors and automatic cannons firing explosive shells.

It doesn't take long before their many cave city is the last major hold out of their race in the far north, with the minor villages and outposts quickly falling to your men, the inhabitants either being slaughtered or fleeing to their main cave city....

With the Xenos confined to their cave-city, a few of your officers, have recommended using poison gas to kill them, without risking an assault into the dark confined spaces of their cave cities.

Having crushed them utterly, some of the Geno-Warriors have recommended negotiation for their surrender to turn them into slaves, as that is a normal ending to battles with non-Geno forces on Primaris.

Finally you could order the men to launch a direct assault into the cave city.

A. Gas them and end these Xeno scum
B. Attempt to get them to surrender and enslave these Xeno scum
C. Launch a direct assault into the cave-city

What can the Red's tell us about their magical prowess? How dangerous are they magically? We'll need to reinform our geno buddies and extensively inform them of the dangers of warp fuckery. You could accidentally summon demons, or turn yourself into inside out meatballs. Only the most reliable or Emperium approved psykers are allowed to do warp fucker at risk of endangering themselves on account of their conditioning reducing their odds of literally fucking everyone over.
Slaves are good and all, but maybe wither removing their warp capabilities all together, or dumping them on the Magos if he wants to buy them.
