Previous thread : http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive/4160101/

Image is of one of the charts im still working on the new map alright so the notes on the current game before we get to the rules. The world is now a approaching having a super continent. This has caused a drying and cooling landmass. and now many of the species must adapt to this changing environment.

Notes for the game
You can evolve both land and water creatures

Only small and gradual changes can be made to the creatures.

Please don't evolve the same creature in a row . All the creatures need some chance at evolution this only applies to line evos . diversification of species is allowed. and encouraged.

No species will go extinct unless I say so or through an extinction event

Make sure all the evolutions are realistic and plausable.

I have the right to stop and evolution if it appears to come too far . especially now as we start approaching intelligence and the eventual Sentience. Though no species is at this point yet its good for me to be prepared to put a limitation.

With the drying of rivers, many plants lose their humidity and die. And so, this acid spitting lur, evolves mandibles to better chew plant matter and most importantly. Manipulate that matter and hoard it in the nests that these lurrs dig deep enough where moisture can't be lost.

The lurr does this only so he can collect the plant matter that grows on humid seasons after rain, so it can have food in the dry seasons. But thanks to this some actual living plants get their seeds underground before the unforgiving sun kills them.

Also they have some hairs to better locate their environment know that they live most of their life underground. These are the harvelurrs

The Fubal Grazers that refuse to retreat to The Lilly Plats still suffer as prey and growing competition from opposing river dwellers. A more aggressive mutation overtakes some of the species as the rear joins that usually house small fins instead internalize as a new fin joint, allowing them to shake their fin-paddle ends with much more mobility and ferocity, making them dedicated swimmers and able to more easily harass other river dwellers without ramification.

The Big Paddle Fubal has become fully dependent on aquatic movement, with no forms of ground locomotion.

The Devilshark Flap dwelleth in the dark, smoggy depths of the devilic reefs, emerging to carry forth its potent toxic assault upon the upstanding denizens of the upper ocean; there, it uses its ancestral hallucinogenic acid nozzle to incapacitate prey, and then swiftly seizes it in jaws evolved from its scraping teeth and tusks, to drag them back own into the toxic world below, where it may feed upon them. Its fins and tail fluke bely a creature reliant on speed and force to make its way.

The tribelisk is the natural association of three previous species: the lumpmoss, the globolithe and the clinging buds. All of these species are great at photosynthesis, but requiere a lot of water, something precious with this climate, except in this particularly humid region, full of lakes and rivers.

Tribalisks rarely reach great sizes, and they are near a source of abundant fresh water.

More of the flora of these humid regions>>4179794

The rootshield grass descends from lumpgrass that protected itself by grouping. These clusters developed a root protection that reinforces the cluster and its surface roots. When herbivores eat the rootshield grass, they take a lot of individual lumps, but the main root and the lower lumps survive and regrow. In this way, its easier for herbivores to take just a bite of these clusters and pass on the next than to waste energy uprooting it.

Ironically this has made them smaller than their close ancestors, but much more agressive, with serrated tusks, good for catching the swimming hydra lurs and stop them from escaping, and also good for tearing the flesh of terrror leapers apart with ease. These are the apex predators of these humid and chill forests. Thats why are they called "dire"

Yeah, a lot of species are missing a few of the 5 Basic Senses. Now that life is nearing sentience, we have to put the senses in somehow.
>>
>>4180907
That's not necessarily true at all. The five basic senses as we know them are not a prerequisite for life, or some ultimate goal all organisms necessarily strive towards.

I'd also like to maybe reconsider this in light of >>4179031 , specifically
>make sure all evolutions are realistic and plausible

Three separate lineages simultaneously evolving the exact same organ at the same time as a response to environmental pressures on their different niches isn't realistic or plausible.

It's also a bit of a lame/lazy approach in my opinion. Up to QM, though...

The mace-face lurs wake up in a straneg an eerie new ocean, full to the brim to toxic fumes and with many plant and animal species around them dead; soon, they are targeted heavily by predators, and desperately hungry. This can be seen as an opportunity, though, with the right adaptations.

Those that survive best are a pale breed, with elongated and strengthened bodies and heavier mace-faces, as well as gripping tail-flukes. They grab hold of one reef, wrapping around it and gripping with their tail to steady themselves, and then bash open other reefs next to it to eat the glob-matter deep inside. They've been known to do the same to passing cousins, and to sue this technique to fend off predation.

This is the pale mace-face. It can grow up to a foot in length, and be up to 3 inches across. The mace is almost double that thickness.

Some vortfish survived the catastrophe and the growth of the now everpresent hallucinogenic reefs by climbing as high up the tumor trees as possible and staying there. They grew more flexible, more gracile, and now use their heavily-modified "fins" as grabbing tentacles; likewise, their signature tail. Both their front and back eyes are equally developed, which is to say: not very, as the sea-tree "canopies" offer little in predation at this point.

Vortmonkeys, at least for a short period, live a life of peace and tranquility.

The rockpaddle fubbal, like so many species which have taken to the deep sea before it, finds constant inhalation and digestion of devlic reef waste products and adjacent species colours it red over time, and across generations this proves advantageous to a predator. Thus is the Devlic Fubbal born.

This creature has atrophied eyes--why bother, in such a particulate-rich environment, so full of hallucinogenic smog?--and strengthened forefins, while the middle pair have shrunken to make it more streamlined. It has slightly increased in size, as it proves more successful and well-fed.

As the number of fleeders increases exponentially, the right to breed becomes much fought over among the males. Thus, duels between the bigger males start, usually involving charging against one another and head butting each other like goats. For this purpose, the charger breed was born. Not all males are chargers but all chargers are males, and it’s not granted that a charger’s offspring will also be of chargers, though it’s likely. Chargers usually become the alphas of their packs, and are the only ones in the pack to have the breeding rights. They are much less patient than their smaller brethren though, and can be stunned by making them charge into a hard object

The Lanced Shellur is the evolution of the tracker shellur that profits from the opportunity of being the largest predator on land. The Lanced Shellur is way bigger than before the extinction, the main reason is its new prey: the fleeders.

Being relatively big, and attacking in groups with poison, the only strategy is to be big enough to avoid its acid boring trough the armor of this shellur. To avoid the acid hitting its sensible neck and head, its now way longer, also giving it a best view (with new and almost complete composite eyes) range and force.

But this trade is risky, this beast consumes a lot of energy and its even heavier that your typical superpredator, being extremely slow and forgetting typical pursuing behaviour, having no problem in stealing caracasses and ambushing either. The changes in the front legs to be jointed is to enough strenght to support its head. While is true that it hunts this fleeders, it only pecks at the the less toxic parts. Why he prefers this prey over others is unkown.

These drill lur are tired of pursuing prey and have specialized in an herbivore life, piercing the hard shelled plants that dwell on land, specially all kinds of globalisks,

Its innovation is the special muscles around its head, that can rotate 360 degrees, and very slowly, pierce the shell with its reinforced drill point. New holes have grown in the drill to better suck the pulp of the plant once inside. The point of its rear end is now black to be left alone in its feeding hole and camouflage with globalisks. A barkpiercer lurr can live its entire life inside the same hole of a globalisk (but that would be terrible news for the tree).

SQUIRTING FLEEDERS as they have been dubbed take advantage of their acid to target the mostly untouched food source that is the obelisks. Developing a majority herbivorous diet, Squirters will slather layerings of acid all around the base of obelisks to slowly eat away at them, eventually resulting in a beaverlike timber moment. Squirting fleeders then tend to slowly hollow out the obelisk over a few months with their acid tail, tending to turn the larger empty shells into homes where family units of Squirting Fleeders will seek shelter from larger predators.

Some southern fruit leapers further specialize in faster waddling about in and out of caves, and swifter movement under water as well. Shifts in their posture and the development of a tail and membranes facilitate this, and their eyes develop further to adapt to a variety of different lighting conditions. They become more experimental in diet as well as environments--curious generalists. The trade-off is that they can no longer leap as far as they once could, nor are they quite as adept at any one of the specialties than an animal better suited to a specific environment.

These are the Jack-of-All Leapers.

Colonial Globs are what happens when a very centralized seed pod glob, which stores all its nutrients in a single large pod, finds countless drill-faced monsters desperate for food in a landscape where everything is increasingly willing and able to break open globelisks for food.

These plants start as a single smallish seed pod, with the usual propensity toward interlocking, webbed tendrils and anchoring roots of their forebears. However, their growth pattern is unique: as their tendrils expand upwards and outwards, they merge together and form more seed pods at each juncture. As these grow bigger and heavier, they come to touch ground; if that soil be fertile, they continue to grow and put down roots, and otherwise they cease growing and begin expending all their stored energy to produce more tendrils, to network with others of their kind or to spread out in search of more habitable land.

Wherever two such seed pods touch, they effectively merge into a single great organism, exchanging nutrients and chemical signals which then inform the tendrils of both beings as to which direction they should grow. to find moisture, sunlight, and food.

(Size irrelevant and highly variable; seed pod sizes usually max out around a foot in diameter, but are more often smaller)

Frog Shrubs in the outside world begin to adapt for life in rivers and lakes, and not just in caves. Their tadpole-like seedlings now have small "fin" leaves in many instances, and rainbow patterns. They whirl through the water almost like an animal, following currents and evading obstacles they bump into, until they get caught somewhere they can settle and put down roots; there they begin to grow an adult plant: the Spectrometer Frog Shrub. These plants are grey and about half the size when they grow in a cave, aquarium globelisk, or other area of poor life, to conserve nutrients and energy; outside, though, they grow in virtually any colour, based on which part of the seedling was best able to absorb light in that evironment. Unlike their ancestors, they are almost always a single, solid colour, apart from their blue stripes and spots.

The immense hunger of The Fubatee leads them to waddle into uncontested areas were they can consume like living trashcans. They grow even heavier as they not only feed on bubble grasses, but proceed to find homes in cavernous systems where they feed primarily on leaper colonies and Frog Shrub plants, often in their entirety.

Fubatee Families often take residence in a cave system, where they have ready access to food and no competition with other fubal species. Cave Fubas have eyes with high dilation as to assist seeing in the cavernous darkness, and have thicker nose beaks, as they often bump against walls with them while searching for food. Caves are now filled with the sound of Fuba bellowing and the tapping noise of their bony noses bumping around.

With the new developments in sea plants, tood in the ocean is now full of devil plakton and feathergrass, the sweeping vortfish still doesn't have any real predators and a lot of food.

Growing to really monstrous size, the vorthemoth has specialized in sweeping the ocean from surface to floor of its plankton and detritus.

His colours have changed to be lighter on his underside, and its tentacles have simplified and multiplied: the two new tentacles have more barbs that catch more plankton and the can be pushed into the main barbs of the mouth. The other tentacles have stronger teeth-like barbs, used for defense and shaking the floor and reefs to get more food. Ironically this also expands the plankton further. Its only eye is now composite and has almost ver ample view, if relatively simple in details.

Silverfruit globliths adapt to the squirting fleeders, reusing its acids as nutrients and decomposing the remains that the beaver-like creatures leave inside their trunks while living inside.

Basically the silverfruit has hardened to not quite die at all, and regenerate even after being hollowed inside, using what it has around, in this case, the fleeders. What is certain is that thanks to the fleeders, their fruits can travels far away, and so, they made the most of their situation as homes for this creatures. The young globeliths start growing covered in a substance that when mixed with the acid of the fleeders, it just tastes very bad, and so, they are left alone until they grow, and even protected by the territorial fleeders. Due to this ability to resurrect and curse its devourers to protect its children, now its called Revenant globelith.

The Grazers, free from any predators, are able to consume and grow their roaming lands without pressure for things such as personal defenses or foreign ideas like food competition. The abundant, untamed grasslands are free for The Fubal's taking, and they do take it. Their shells do not evolve to cover their ever growing amount of fat deposits, causing them to rest on top of the grazer's mass rather than around it, and its legs develop into stronger stubs that can drag all that new weight around.

They have expanded their grazing territory substantially, but still do not form herds, as they have no external pressures to work together or share food. Instead they each wander about independently, and once a year return to bodies of water to breed and lay eggs.

His berries become few but with a thick shell and a lot of pulp and seeds, protecting them somewhat of the cold waters and its creatures. They retain the original colour but have a very different structure, having rather uninteresting taste.

The other adaptation is because of the needs of the shaker worms, wich now produce a special kind of silk around the part of the roots the inhabit, this silk insulates them and keeps the water were they live some degrees warmer, enough for them to survive and also to camouflage them from carnivores wich only seek the plant for them.

Now that the shellurs are actively hunting them down, the fleeders have to adapt: the pack takes a new behavior, putting rotating sentinels to guard the pack while they feast, developing the ability to stay on their hind legs for brief periods of time by supporting themselves without their long tails. They also developed eyesight to aid in their duty, though it’s still rudimental and they mostly make use of echolocation like before. I’m too lazy to draw it but the Fleeder charger also has achieved these new evolutions as it is not a separate breed but just a role in every pack.

The goldenfruit dome is an adaptation of the silverfruit globelisk to live in the southern tundras. Recovering its spherical form to conserve heat and humidity against the freezing winds on the southern pole, the goldenfruit dome is most of its life almost buried in snow, developing towards a thicker bark to survive. The change in its fruit is meant for it to grow quick just before the warm season, so grazers can see it and eat it as fast as possible and carry the seed to new grounds (the soil isn't very rich and clusters of these plants would not survive near each other)

With the finding of food requiring more and more brainpower due to the increased amount of crowing of the various underwater herbivorous niches, the Fubatee has evolved a larger brain in order to better recognize things such as disguised predators and prime feeding grounds. In addition, a mutatitive growth has grown out of the sensitive pores that once covered the Fubatee's snout, combining into a single fleshy tentacle that the Fubatee now uses to manipulate its surroundings and better search for food.

Eyesight has also improved, growing more used to looking down at the sand as the SCANNER FUBATEE searches for food.

Known for the loud bellows that they scream outwards to signify territory, the Bellower is a highly territorial creature. With their newfound claws found on their flippers they regularly rip and tear at one another, older Bellowers being covered in scars from many bouts. Bellower Fubatees feed themselves by occasionally heading into the water to much on Devlic reef residue, which they chip off with their pickaxe like claws, or by mere bubblegrass browsing.

The tunnels hardly allow an adult vortmonkey, but they allow communication and infantile vortmonkeys escaping with its other parent if the one nurturing it its attacked or deceased.

Running into the issue of few creatures wanting to risk injury over some tiny bitter fruits, Stabgrass has evolved into newly dubbed GLOBETROPS. Globetrops are taller in order to stick out more with larger fruits sticking atop their stems, with the hard steel-like outer layer of the grass turning rather flexible so that herbivores can step on it before the plant then springs right back up. Vents also appear along the shafts of the Globetrops, allowing for photosynthesis to be possible and for the glob based lifeform to refuel its fruits nearly twice as fast. This Globetrop grass quickly spreads throughout Xeolia due to a large lack of predation, with most herbivores deciding to instead simply eat the fruits and spread its spores instead of harming the grass stalks themselves.

Their pectoral fins now do something similar to their caudal fin, they remove the floor to search for worms and other detritus, but in this case, they developed an internal bone system in those fins, to give them rigidity and strenght enough to literally slap and stun prey and predator. One of the stranger offshoots of devilic fubas, is the devilic breeder. This fuba is so small, it actually lives inside devilic reefs, his tolerance to its fumes being absolute. The breeder gets protection, nesting and some food from the reef (they prefer to eat the bubble grasses and satan pubes that compete with their home reef, because of this mutualistic relationship, but the reef is like 20% of their diet)

The really weird part of this adaptation is how the loss of dorsal fins, left space for three egg sacs, where they carry devilic reef biggest spores, in a sac where they also carry their eggs or sperm. When the spawning season of the reefs comes, the breeders get their own mating season going, carrying some of the spores on their back, searching new territories, and other breeders, mixing their eggs, sperms and devilic spores, wich spawn both new breeder and a growing reef to protect them. The last days of the breeders after mating are spent protecting their child and the nascent new reef. They lost size and risk much, but gained in numbers and safe home.

Not all the leapers have gone living in caves or walking on two legs. These leapers just got longer, and evolved a curious reproductive system and the powerful legs, hips and tail to support it.

The tail in the males is just for showing and balance, in some cases as an offensive whip attack. In females (as these species are no longer hermaphrodite as some of the bastard descendants were/are) their tail becomes and ovipositor in mating season, becoming bigger, but agile enough so its eggsac can be put in hidden and well protected places. These leapers care about their infants a lot and protect their nest with hoof, tooth and nails.

Their back legs are now powerful enough to be very dangerous in close combat, its front arms are now slowly becoming something like hooves, due to these Megaleapers searching for harder and harder places to reach, so they can breed in peace.

Silk satchel lurs descend from the shaker worms which found themselves washed ashore with their hosts in the poles ( >>4187293 ). Their silk has become more wool-like, thick and insulating.

They cannot endure the worst temperatures of their extreme new environment outside of their nest, but will venture beyond in warmer months and times of day to snatch up whatever food their new, crude electro-chemical sensor ball can detect and drag it back to the nest in a wad of silk attached to teh end of their tail; their scaly stomach also secretes a trail for their fellows to follow, so these tiny guys can work fast to stock up a larder for harsher times. This keeps both their host plant and their own species alive and well-fed.

Tanning Megaleapers continue to dwell in hard-to-reach places, but find themselves especially well-adapted to lakeshore living or burying into aquarium globelisks. They crawl out at the brightest and warmest points of the day to suntan, however. They have concentrated in their increasingly scaly, specialized stripes, fin, and tail tip the sun-absorbing chemical compounds of the globs, and now use this to supplement their diet.

Their bodies have grown wider and flatter, as have their tails, and they now move relatively little once they have found a comfortable home; instead, they kick aggressors hard in the face, slap with their tail, and then dive into their hidey-holes. Their mouths have moved closer to the weaponized rear of their body, as well, to aid in defence.

The Shielded Crawler, loosing less liquid from constant leaking, has been able to venture further and further inland. The farther they venture away from the coasts the more they run into their mortal enemy..... inclines. In order to solve this issue the newly dubbed BILE WALKER has come into existence. Capable of unrolling itself to walk on tentacle legs for short periods of time, the Bile Walker is much more mobile than its other cousins. To prevent all of its guts from falling out every time it stands up, the Bile Roller has expanded its plates to involve a thin layer of biological netting that helps to protect its tentacles and goop from just flooping out every time it unrolls itself.

In a strange sort of convergent evolution the Shielded Crawlers, just like the Flinging Crawlers, learned how to fling with their tentacles; but while the Flingers threw their own shit at people, the Shielders are more civilized and content themselves with using rocks as ammunition. What do they throw it at, you ask? Well, at the entrances of Globagodas, of course, to see whether they're taken by the benign spikegrass or the treacherous blood grapes! Why don't they just use their fucking eyes to see if the entrance is covered by straight grey spines or green meshes with conspicuous red bulbs, you ask? Well, because their eyesight has not improved ever since they were rotten masses of cancer and is still complete shit, of course!
And also sometimes you're getting pursued and the only route of escape is a blood grape globagoda so it's better to throw a rock at the net and cause it to curl around it buying you a brief chance of passing through than to let yourself get chomped by whatever's chasing you.

Following the extinction of the majority of glob based life on Xeolea, the Globetrops have diversified throughout the globe. In the fertile plains of Xeolea the abundance of nutrients has led to Globetrops greatly increasing the amount of fruits they can create. Developing more branches with the purpose to holding these new berries, Globetrops soon spread out into any soil that can sustain their high nutritional needs.

Meanwhile, in regions with poor nutrients such as wetlands, coastlines, and cave systems, the Globetrop has had to take a different approach. Risking their seeds being fully digested, the SPINY GLOBETROP has opted to cover their fruit in hooked spikes. These spikes hopefully stick onto creatures that pass by, eventually either dropping off and being grown or weighing down the unfortunate mobile creature to such a degree that it collapses and becomes fertilizer in its own right. Being unappetizing towards any herbivore without the proper gastric requirements, the Spiny Globetrop has spread out into the less fertile regions of the globe.

But with the apparition of >>4191471 its food is dying, and so the Cleaner starts eating satan's grass in general, redeveloping several gut chambers, doing an overall slow digestion. But this is not enough to treat the toxins of satan's pubes or sacks, and so, the tip of the nose of the cleaner can pick lumps of these types of plants.

Its feeding modus operandi is picking lumps of satan's sacks until its dead and the reef clean, the lumps of the sacks floating around as the cleaner feeds of the unparasited reef. Then, after a few minutes the satan's sacks lose some of their toxicity and the cleaner eats those lumps that didn't float away. These indicates a development in intelligence.

As is its speed so the worms can retaliate with its bony heads. The fubir focus on the development of its head over anything, so it can find the scarce food its left after the hit.

It gets smaller, losing a fin, and changing the way it swims, since it doesn't need to look to the floor anymore, but to its sides and the currents.

The change in its mouth also made changes in its rear and suction tail, wich now is more important to move than to capture anything, expulsing some of the water that the vort filters. This gives him his name, the vortjet.

Angel tears are an special kind of satan pube, growing its leaves longer, with little globs full of their spores, and and a substance that partly neutralizes the neurotoxin of reefs and satan's sacks. The main body is still as toxic as its cousin's, but thanks to their sporefruits being picked first, they reproduce faster than their cousins.

Also, some of the more intelligent animals, just leave the main body intact. In part because few animals can digest the toxins of satan's pubes, sacks or these ones, in part because some understand that the sporeberries of these plants are too valuable to stop the growing of more, and grow just around the devil reefs. This seem to be the behaviour of the Devil Cleaner. These are the Angel Tears.

Facing no competition or predation, the Vortjet goes through a massive state of ocean gigantism and increased efficiency. Developing a larger vertical mouth that can open and close for increased water flow, the intake of various microlurs and microglobs becomes quite fruitful. To help propel its greatly increased girth the newly dubbed VORTERANG, named after its now singular horn, has developed four vent pumps that propel it through the water. With muscled valves in the front of its body, these draw in water with muscular contractions before pressurizing it within the lengthy tube that runs down its body before violently expelling it outwards. Vorterangs are known to let out low groans as well as they move through the ocean, simplified vibration receptors being developed on the front of their singular horn to help detect potential mates in the wide open red sea.

Devlic Reefs are corked off by the likes of Statan Sacks that stem their bellowing fumes. Because of this a majority of reefs are unable to reproduce as their spores are carried out by their fumes and what little can escape through the sacks aren't capable of spreading far. As such the only members of the species are the ones that unleash deluges of fumes the hardest, as the pressure shooting upwards is simply too seal. Members of the species that are sealed anyway tend to explode as pressure builds within their cores, causing the mineral walls of The Reef to blow off.

Some of these Bellowing Devlic Reefs have grown to recognize that other creatures tend to hide, fight, and thrash about around their tough outer carapaces. This tends to result in gradual damage and destruction of a reef, with the Bellowing Devlic Reef having no real way to combat this. A strain that prioritizes a different mental affect has seemed to somewhat solved this issue though. Behold the STONER REEF. Bellowing out a now green cloud of relaxing drugs, in contrast to the psychedelics of the Devlic Reef the Stoner reef seeks to settle down all of the large fighting creatures that love to attempt and bother them. This drug is more nutrionally challenging to produce, requiring some photosynthesis to permeate through the waves in order to help raise the spores that induce such an effect. Thusly these Stoner Reefs are only found in shallow waters, though they already appear to be inducing rapid change in the regions where they live.

Being uncontested once more in the apex carnivore niche, the Decimator Shellur adapts to its new environment and prey. With grazers being the primary prey that is snacks upon nowadays, the newly dubbed STALKER SHELLUR sees less and less reasons to care about speed at all. Slow and deliberate on its circular set of claw feet, the Stalker shellur will stalk herds of Studded Grazers from afar. Seeing an increase in intellect, the Stalker is capable of superb pattern recognition, capable of recognizing ideal ambush positions where it will spring out and grasp onto its prey with its highly nimble claws.

Facing increased predation, the Studded Grazer furthers its deterrents against Shellurs whom would love to eat them alive. Growing longer, the set of arms that the Grazers have grown a thick flap of leathery skin between them, with the Studded Grazer extending and flapping them about to scare away predators. This is especially effective when the entire herd makes their famous low squeaking sound while they flap their arms at their enemies. Should this fail and the Studded Shellur is caught out on its own it has developed a secondary form of defense. Growing a lengthy tail to attach to its fake head, the Grazer will imitate it as its real one with wiggling and eating motions. This tail does not regrow, serving as a one time escape card, but it has saved many a grazer thus far.

Seeing a great decrease in land dwelling herbivores, the Futabees move further inland to occupy the massive mega herbivore niche. Though they are known to still occasionally eat carrion or eggs they find, they are for a large part plant eats now. To help with this their keratinous jaw has turned into a simple beak, with complex jaws allowing for the tough outer layer of Globetrops to be grinded into a grey paste. Speaking of paste, with no longer needing to really swim the rear tail and buoyant capacity of the FUSLIBEE have been reduced to mere atrophied body parts. Instead many of the muscles along its stomach have fused together, hence the name, into a powerful foot. Thick and resistant to puncturing, the Fuslibee secretes a thin layer of mucus from its underside to assist with movement. Now the largest herbivore on land, the Fuslibee's deep bellow can be heard across the planet.

The Fancy Leaper develops fancier colourations to signal mates, including a greening patch on their chest that only lights up when a chemical is triggered by arousal. Their colours are also more cryptic, only becoming as vibrant as in their forebears when threatened or aroused.

All of this is tied to the development of an electrical organ in their epidermis, which in triggers these chromatic changes AND is focused in a pair of electro-chemical receptors in their cheeks, capable of detecting biological signals in the dark, the muck, or in smoggy areas out to sea. While they cannot endure the drug-addled oceans for long, these beings can pursue Vortchovies through rivers and into brackish estuaries.

Schools of Dealics usually collectively cling onto one host and end out overriding their behaviors through constant neuro-tapping to cause them to keep near Devlic Reefs or attack predators.

Dealic Taps predominantly work on fellow members of the Vort family due to similarities in bodily chemistry.

The mutations in the silberry glob have been extreme. This one, left his root system away, specializing them in two internal functions: produce stripberry and generate gastric acid to wich the worms and their silk, are inmune.

The worms fabricate long tendrils that act like the roots, but instead, they catch debris, minerals, plankton, and even larger prey like vortchovies and albino drill lurs. When the worms sense that a prey is catched or the tendril is heavy with microplankton and carrion, they vibrate in a way that pulls the silk tendril up, into the chambers of digestive acid of the plant, like an earth-carnivore plant. The silktrap glob prefers cold seas but can tolerate temperate shorelines and even some lakes. The silk of the worms is highly defective in freswater because of his composition.

As it elongates, the last few segments lose feeling and blood-flow, becoming limp, spike-covered dead-weight... perfect to throw into a beartrap roller to spring it and simultaneously injure the composite crawlers. In the biological arms race against it's prey, the Purple Drill develops several ways to cope with the increasing danger the rollers pose
One such development is a filtration gland on the drill's face that repurposes it's stomach acid into poison that slowly digests prey from the inside out, causing organ failure over time.
They inject the poison through their drill before retreating to a safe distance, away from the hurtful rocks.
This rather cautious behavior coincides with an increase in neural activity. The nerve-knots that previously constituted the Drill's "brain" have now formed a single, cohesive clump.

The cloud samurai lurr is a creature endemic of the Black Leaf Estuary, the biggest in the estuary of the planet. Its the crossing between river, ocean, desert and grassland; and one of the hottest points in the world too.

To combat this scorching sun, this samurai developed a silk veil around its shell-hat, this shadow when resting is extremely valuable and also serves to be left alone when burrowing in the sand to rest and keep cold during the hottest hours.

This lurr feeds on the leafy globetrops of the south, and comes to breed in the shorelines of the river, where the males fertilize eggs and then weave a silk "bag" they carry until the offspring is mature enough to develop their own shell and sting. They also develop a mild venom that is irritating, and potentially blinding if the stinger hits the eye, but hardly lethal. they also hunt the occasional river vortchovie.

The sunsilk weed is the new adaptation of this plant to the Black Leaf Stuary. Here, the plant has a higher colour and the silk is designed to preserve humidity instead of heat.

Nevertheless the worms of this plants are more active and venture outside of the hive in their younger stages. This leads us to the main evolution of this creature: its pollen filaments. This not only radiates heat from the plant, it is charged with its genetic information, and needs to be put from the outside to its reproductive organs inside by a worm. This opens the possibility of worms of different hives and plants to mix between themselves and also gives the plants the way to mix between themselves. Genetic diversity in this species is high and that makes them specially resilient against sickness and parasites.

The Shockrus is what happens when a shocking leaper all but foresakes the land to delve ever deeper into large bodies of fresh water, and finds the hidden catacombs of the brown lurs. Swimming through water and tunneling through mud, it uses powerful electrosenses to root out its prey; combining this ability with the metal it incorporates from its favoured prey, it can create bursts of electromagnetism to stun and/or attract prey. Taking them into its gullet, it cooks them alive in a powerful electro-chemical oven in its bowels.

Its eyes are all but useless for sight, but it hardly needs them any longer with its ever-more-powerful electrosensitivity. Instead, it repurposes them as signaling organs to startle and attract rivals and mates, and to signal its young.

Frog shrubs, being a rare glob suited to a largely non-photosynthetic existence, are perfect to inhabit the depths of deep and murky lakes, and eventually some even find their way down into the deep lur-caverns. They do this thanks to their motile seedlings, who follow a strange migratory pattern: the rise up from their birthing place, absorb sunlight to stimulate growth, and then plummet back down to anchor themselves in rich earth or dead animals, and then to grow into...

The Frog's Pearl Glob, a sticky, soft plant vaguely resembling ancient pearl globs aesthetically, but with sickly greyish leaves and an oilier sheen. This plant is relatively short-lived, being mostly a birthing place for a new wave of its tadpole-like seedlings.

A less radical, but no less striking, permutation of the frog shrub occurs contemporaneously with Frog's Pearl Glob: the Lite-Brite Shrub. These subaquatic shrubs grow in lakebeds, where only their pearl-like cousins compete with them for real estate. They remain photosynthetic, using huge, long fronds to accumulate energy from the sun, but at night they glow brightly and put out an electromagentic current to attract vortchovies and leapers alike. Their seedlings are no longer motile, but still have small barbs that then stick to them, allowing these glob-shrubs young to travel with the creatures once they depart.

Many Cobalt Rock Drills have taken to a more sedentary lifestyle around the lake and river in the Great Ocean Hollow. Adapting to, but still susceptible to the immense temperatures in the Hollow, climbing up to 150°C despite already massive insulation from the thick salt-crusts all around, the presence of ever new tunnels, putting holes into this insulation, keeps the temperature well-beyond scorching.
Feeding almost exclusively off of the boiling salt-water, the Mustard Drills have lost their breathing holes and instead breathe the Oxygen produced in their stomachs, made by breaking down water. Sustaining themselves entirely off of the Sodium contained in ocean water. Leaving only the Chlorine and Hydrogen. Enzymes in their stomach turn a part of these waste products into hydrochloric acid, used to further digest tougher rocks like granite, chunks of which may accidentally find their way into the diet of the Mustard Drill.
The remaining Hydrogen is excreted and is eventually bound into the salt walls, whereas the remaining Chlorine is bound to it's scales, creating a ticking time-bomb.
When the temperature in the Hollow rises above a cozy 80°C, the Chlorine in the scales will begin to unbind itself from the scales and spread across the Hollow in it's pure gas form, greatly culling the numbers of everything that isn't a Mustard Drill.
Their presence keeps the highly fragile climate of the Hollow in balance.

The Fleeders now have lost a lot of grounds to these new generations: the sky is filled with dragons, the rollers rule the plains, not even their old trees and the caves are safe anymore. Left with nothing but themselves, the Fleeders change drastically: they develop an actual mouth, with teeth made to not let the prey go while the acid does its job. Being outclassed physically by numerous beings, they now start to rely more on numbers, with packs being made up of as many as 50 individuals. Their front paws change, developing a new type of finger/toe/claw, which is capable of grasping and letting go of objects. There have been sightings of Fleeders using these new hands to pick up rocks and using them to smash hard fruits they couldn’t dissolve with their acid, or, even more rarely, of group efforts to carry logs to make temporary bridges over dangerously strong rivers

The silverthorn globoda is the adaptation to the silver grasslands of the arid plains of the Black Leaf Estuary. Its slowly loses his dark shell to a silver-like one, and the reflection attracts some of the bloodgrape vines into the "roofs" of the globoda.

The fruits also changed, now growing where the luminescent patches were before. This fruits are also mixed with blood grapes, and biologicla baskets that hold them has some spines similar to the one in the vines. Animals try to get to their fruit trought the vines and thorns, sometimes falling to their deaths at the feet of the globoda. Sometimes they eat the fruit and spread the seed elsewere.

With this the silverthorn globoda has improved his humidity loss, reproduction rate and defenses.

In the areas too hot for any kind of globoda, some cotton candy trees adapted to the hot plains of the Black Leaf Estuary, and they have to compete with the silver globetrops. To do this, the roots are now thicker, closer to the ground, and the cotton, not only changing its colour, now when the bush fruits reach maturity, the cotton dries almost as it passes their water to the fruits and roots becoming highly flammable in arid seasons. When the fire starts, the modified fruit literally explote, losing some of its initial shell but spreading the wildfire to the globetroph grasses.

The seeds are full of water and their shell is tough enough to survive, while many globetrophs become fertile ashes from where the firebush seed will grow when rains arrive.

The firebush sometimes survives his inmolation thans to its thicker roots. Sometimes.

The worms sometimes become a part of the menu but the pixie-drake doesn't favour it.

Their wingspan keeps its original size and in fact gets stronger, keeping the pixie-drake in the air as it rips the plant, and then lands to eat it (except with the rotten fruit, wich is already on the floor)

The Claw Drills, with the advent of graceful, hooked forelimbs, have developed a cruel new behavior: two Drills will restrain a Roller, Crawler, or just any unlucky hard-shelled animal that the pack finds, and the rest will take turns striking it with their beak. This is a form of bonding activity, used to estabilish the pecking order in a group - the group in question now encompassing up to 12 individuals.
The activity consists of three distinct "contests": strength, endurance, and finesse.
During a strength contest, the goal is to break the target in as few pecks as possible.
During an endurance contest, the goal is to peck as many times as you can before tiring(rocks are usually used for this contest as they can last significantly longer than animals would)
The finesse contest is a simple, but delightfully twisted version of the endurance contest. The goal is to peck as many times as you can... without killing the target. WOUNDING the target, however, is fair game.

It can devise devilish ambushes, and memorize the behaviors and weaknesses of dozens of prey types, but it's language centers have atrophied completely. Unlike it's colonial cousins it is no longer able to communicate with it's kin; in fact, it only meets other Antisocial Crawlers once a year, during mating season, and not a single click or chirp is exchanged.

While other drills have increasingly specialized as bizarre terravores or land predators, these little critters have stuck it out as, essentially, earthworms. They've hardly even had to change, as they are largely subterranean and nocturnal, and stick to moist areas.

However, with the advent of frog's pearl plants, some albino drills follow them down into the depths, nesting inside them; as they grow bigger and spread wider, they create more and more viable habitat for the Nightcrawler Lur. It uses extended gill-structures to better capture scarce oxygen in the depths of the underground realms, subsisting solely on that produced by its host plants. Without predators, it also begins to reproduce out of control.

With their rounded shape giving their Roller form a few extra points of contact with the ground, balancing has become easier than ever; combined with the discovery that it is possible to roll by pushing off the ground with tentacles rather than by shifting your weight precariously, the Crawlers were able to reduce the amount of brainpower needed for rolling down to 28% of what it was, and with the other 72% now freed up for other tasks, the Greater Crawlers have at last matured into the Greatest Crawlers. And as the Greatest Crawlers, they have managed to utilize their tremendous brainpower to create an invention never seen before: a rock... with a SECOND rock glued to it by mud! Truly, there is no one who can stop them now.

Constant bipedal locomotion has left the Purple Bear hunchbacked until it developed a connective spine, running along it's entire body from beak to tail to enable it's skeleton to support the increased mass on only two legs and assist in balancing.

During this, the facial muscles that originally developed for hammering, have turned into jaws to allow for making more distinct vibrations, which are picked up through the skin, like all other Lur before it.

The Fleeder’s already hand-like hind legs became actual arms, and they now possess 4 arms, slithering on their tail instead of walking. This increased elevation and greater manipulation of objects seems to have triggered a mental growth: some specimens have been seen using rocks to crack open shelled creatures. They are seemingly getting smarter, and are clearly communicating with one another through a combination of tail and arm movements, hisses and vibrations emitted from their frills

The Big Ass /d/ragons become the Big-Ass /d/ragons, growing ten times larger in size. This amazing feat was possible due to a change in their metabolism: instead of simple high-velocity gas, the /d/ragon produces top-grade jet fuel. To protect it's supple cheeks from it's own explosive flatulence, it has coated them in steel beams, produced from materials it finds in the various terravores it preys upon.

To prevent it from being roasted alive at higher altitudes, this creature has developed steel all around it's body, allowing it to traverse the upper atmosphere for extended periods of time. However this also means that without fuel, it will only be able to glide because of the tremendous weight of its body. It has also developed an organ for storing oxygen, to keep it alive in low-oxygen environments.

This marvel of nature has been dubbed the Astronaut Dragon.
