NRP Classic™

Create a nation/civilization and RP in the fantasy themed world.
Each player starts with 1 "tile" and a capital (Exceptions exist). Choose a location to start and your color. You may post immediately.

===============================================================
Rules and Information:
Read the OP before you ask dumb questions.

Standard RP rules apply.

-The purpose of this is to create an enjoyable story through gameplay and RP, remember that there is no winning or losing, good RP and loremaking is the goal. Do not play to win.-

Be reasonable. (Most important rule)

Turns: All players may post 2 actions (one turn) alongside their introduction at start, after this their next turns may be posted after the update by OP.
Diplomacy and lore posts do not count as an action.
Actions will be introduced in the order they are posted. Actions are not canon until the game is updated.

Actions: You're free to do whatever you want, but keep it reasonable. If an action is deemed unreasonable or otherwise unfit to put into play, you will be notified and allowed an extra action per disallowed action in your next turn.
Results of your actions will vary depending on the player and what OP thinks of their capabilities. If you are unsure or feel your post may not be counted or done right, elaborate in your post the reasons why it should go through as such.
A post may also be put into play but in a limited state rather than not put into play. This will be noted.

Settlements: Settlements may only be created in tiles with an existing claim by the owner. (No expanding and creating a city in the expansion in the same turn)

Tech: Starting tech may not exceed bronze age. Do not rush technology.

Resources: Materials used in actions must be worked or traded in order to be used. Resources within your grasp that are not worked may be used for lore but not in large scale or for your advantage.

War: War should be produced with 1 action which should describe the goal and intended tactics. The defender may then post a response detailing how they will defend against the action, or it will be decided by OP. The conflict results will be posted shortly after by OP.
Defense to a war action is free, using an action will allow attacking with a successful defense.

Leaving: Players may leave at any time so long as a suitable post regarding their end is made. Players that leave without an end post or and insufficient endpost will be banned from future games and the fate of their nation at the mercy of OP.

Moderation: OP's reserves the right to retcon any posts requiring such action.
Expect IC catastrophes for poor behavior.
Grievances are to be directed to OP through private messages. Any complaints not issued this way are invalid.

More rules and information exists but the above are simply the most important.

>Civilization/Race Name: A Luminância tho Crilo (Crilo shorten name)/ Sun Elves (Coluz(s) in their language)
>Capital Name: Thança
>Brief Summary of Nation: The Sun Elves, guided by the stars and gods, came to this new wonderful land on a dare. They didn't want to lose face when the underlings (dwarves) accused them of being afraid of going out in the world and exploring it. (Looking back, it was pretty foolish to go on a deadly adventure just brcause some punks told you so.) On the bright side, they found a new isle to make a new home. Things were a bit crowed back home.
>Optional Fluff: Coluzs come in a variety of gold skin tones and hair colors. Some say the position of the sun determines it. They're a hearty friendly folk with a love of athletics and exploration. They worship the stars and gods related to the weather, terrains and disasters.

>Civilization/Race Name: Unified Felidae Republic/ Cat folk (Big cats, little cats, all the kinds of cats)

>Capital Name:
Cattas Hope

>Brief Summary of Nation:
Felis Catus is the first president of the Unified Felidae Republic. A dream generations-old finally realized the republic represents the unification of the numerous subspecies of the Felidae family. In this bold new world, Felidakind can only hope that the future will hold freedom, brotherhood, and reciprocity.

>Optional Fluff:
Racial traits
1st trait: Natural magicians--For Felidaes magic comes as naturally to them as breathing, hunting, and ~funtiming~ even the most inept Fedlidae mage would give an experience non-Felidae mage a run for there money.

2nd trait: massive litters-- unlike most litter bearing mammals species the average Felidae female can produce anywhere from 15 to 30 children at a time. more often than not Pregnant Felidaes are bedridden by the end of the first month of their nine-month pregnancy.

Cultural Identity
Manifest destiny-- It is the destiny of the Republic to expand to all corners of this world.

>Civilization/Race Name: Lo-hai
>Capital Name: Krrgstyl
>Brief Summary of Nation:: a race of stone skinned 6 armed radial starfish the size of bulls. Emerging from an opened subterranean cave, they swimmed up to the surface to begin climbing up mountain face around their lake
>Optional Fluff: The Lo-hai anatomy is of a strange bleeding muscle mantle on the inside, and a stony obsidian crust as their skin. As they age and eat from the mouth in the center of their bodies, the mantle pushes against the crust, cracking it and oosing new liquid shell to harden. Old shards, un needed arms, and whole shells are used as tools for the Lo-hai to fish in their lake-home. (Basically strange neolithic obsidian tools from their bodies, with starfish regeneration). Lo-hai culture as part of their subterranean isolation is extremely chaotic. Competing Lo-hai form gangs, and regional war was common for control of space. However this constant inner war is not as terrible for the Lo-hai as it is for some other races due to the customs of it. When the star fish creatures kill their own in acts of war- typically two will rip a lone Lo-hai in half either with brute strength or chopping shards. The corpse half is used as gain, while the regenerating Lo-hai is rendered to a juvenile state, and join the conquering party after recovery.

>Optional Fluff: A group of tribal humans who don colourful bird feathers under the rule of a primitive monotheistic priesthood, worshipping the Death/Fertility god Zuma, represented by the image of white human skull laid before a black sun.
>Celebrations are held for every birth, death, harvest, planting of seeds, as well as many other arbitrary times throughout the year.

Actions
>With the Tribes united it is time for the Cathi people to turn there gaze outward to the lands around them and beyond. scouts are sent out along the cardinal directions north, south, east, and west. to locate resources that can strengthen the Republic and Cathi people.

>Despite the joy brought about by unification not all is well. one of the primary forces behind unification was the ongoing food shortages. As such the Presidents first act is to call on all able-bodied adults to join "the great hunt" A massive hunt that will hopefully allow the fledging nation to resolve its food shortage

1.

Some of the Elder Stone-lords develop a taste for a green earthy delicacy found on rocky moors around the lake. Many of their young war spawn are sent down the lake side to comb the beaches and carve great trenches for the moss to be laid in.
>Beach combing/ Trench digging

2.

The Venerable Eldest, Lo-hai of ancient age, dwells in the deepest grotto of Krrgstyl. He does not rule, he merely rests. Yet it is well to the cave dwelling Stone-lords to leave a tithe of war-gore. The water around the Hn'tstyr is always clean, for the shells are picked from their alters in the Hall of the Elder when he stirs, when the caves shake, and the waters move. Prayers are made to the Eldest in the darkest abyss before one's offerings for good fishing-hunts, wars, and mating. The higher one goes in Krrgstyl, one can find shell stalls pitching crafted chopping shards for poundages of fish, or shell shields for war-gore- emerging from Stone-lords putting war-spawn to work with crafting, fishing, digging, etc. and seeking to exchange various loot away from the sleeping Elder

>Basically big grotto alters to feed granddad Lo-hai and keep him sleeping. Cultural relevance despite inter-conflict culture.

>Race Name:
The Shavii

>Capital Name:
Lz 022

>Brief Summary of Nation:
"We know nothing of our creators, nor our parents, but we know of a home, which they gave us, burning its name into the ground with a beam of light from their great vessel in the sky. "Lz 022." We don't know what it means, and we don't have a way to find out."

The Shavii were originally a space faring race. They still are. However, this small tribe of Shavii have been stranded here, with no knowledge of their forefathers, nor the technology belonging to their people. Essentially, they have been left in the wilds of this unknown world. naked, and afraid, they build their small society. A leader rises, going by the name of "Nikkolas." Nikk cares deeply for his people, and wants, more than anything else, their survival. What little food they were given by their people is now running low, and they're forced to explore this foreign world in search of sustenance. Bravery will take them far, and Nikk's stricter leadership might be the key to unlocking such a valuable asset.

>Optional Fluff:
Shavii, or shavs, lack various external organs, which one would normally assume to be absolutely necessary for survival. They don't bear any semblance of a mouth, nose, ears, hair, hands, feet, or any orifices at all, for that matter. Instead, the Shavii sense, consume nutrients, communicate, and copulate via a pair of fleshy antennae on their heads. These antennae transmit neurological signals through brainwaves, allowing them to communicate with non-shavii by just such means.

It's been a rather frankly quiet year, the Palace has been refurbished, the night is young and it's a good night for the moonblessed who stroll the small cobble or dirt made street's of their home.

A small group organizes, a couple of Hunter's of wild-life broaching the community for help aquiring new land, the community, the Natch and most people agree that it's a good idea!

>Head north towards the lake, making a path, hunter and fishermen think it's a good place to help supplement the crops and furthermore, many youth are itching to move out of their parents homes and many elderly would love a nice lake home.

2. The river and forest that could be seen south has always been a place of emergency water in times of hardship, wild and untamed and mostly untouched, several Moonblood inspecting alongside farmers have noticed that indeed, the cattle and farmland could use more water, it's worth moving down there a little.

>Expand south towards the river and forest, making a path, the area down there is a bit warmer and fertile, more water is in need and herders of animals undoubtedly will find these grazing grounds being protected rather good and access to a fresh water source directly under the communtiy's control can only be good!

>1: explore the body of water to the east of our settlement
The first resource at our settlement that ran dry was, ironically enough, the fresh water. There's none left, and we have no other option but to explore the bodies of water that surround us. Surely, they must have what we need, and then some.
(for shavii swimming, they breathe through their skin, like frogs. As such, they can walk along the bottom, and then come up for air after a decently long while. Should give them enough time to record some fauna)

>2: expand south
The second resource to run dry was our food. thankfully, there are lands which surround us on all sides. Maybe the south harbors more resources?

To the south, large haired animals graze in the open plains, their attitude content. (Imagine a large capybara)
To the north, many fruits grow along the river and wetland.

>>4161740
No woodland capable of being harvested for the harbor is found at first, however, later the settlers find that adequate resources can be taken from these southern lands and the harbor begins to take shape, albeit slower than planned.

>>4161765
Traveling east, scouts discover lush grassland and a forest nearby.
These grasslands are home to many slender, hooved creatures and large grounded avians predators.

>>4162024
The nearby lake will provide ample water to the Shavii, and deep within said water is found many serpentine-like creatures ranging from three to nine feet long. Their flesh fatty and succulent once deboned.
To the south nearing the transition to hill and desert, explorers find stout scaled scavenger beasts that root around the dirt for food.

Construct a new settlement at the marked location. The wetlands are surely an excellent place to set up an agrarian colony. I’m sure there is food that can be grown there en masse.

1. Lapping along the shores, soft and cool, small tents and small homes, tired eye's and old faces, people relax and yet, moonblooded come.

Robed, as soft moonlight comes down, alongside settlers young and old.

>Settle on the lake coast, a new religious commune centered around a temple, made from the finest wood and finest stone that can be aquired and let it be called, Lazora.

Try to connect it via some sort of dirt road back home if possible, many people will want to see the moonlight reflect off the lake, oh so beautifully.

2. The river is fresh and clean and smells wonderful, tonight people bathe in it, smooth skin is cleaned, backs are rubbed and animals enjoy their drinks. Small tents being set up, a few rough homesteads for the start of ranches.

>Set up ranches and small farms along the river, make sure there is a nice dirt road heading back to the capital, the quiet farming commune of Rekario is born.

>1: set up a small settlement at the western lake
Soon after making our first contact with the lake, it is dubbed with the elegant name of "Lake Lz 022 CardinalE." Our forefathers would have liked that title, we're sure.
A large group of tents can be seen at the lake's edge, the very next day. Near those tents is a gathering of Shavii, each taking turns going into the water and spearing those long fish with their pointy fists. It seems a fishing community has come about. the shavs taking residence have named it "local water." really? okay... despite the weird name, the people there seem to be competent in the art of fishing.

>2: move northward
Sure, lizards are great, but if they're in the south, then what's in the north? Our explorers make an effort to find out, as curiosity has gotten the best of us in all cardinal directions. Except East. Fuck East. It's just West, but the other way.

lore
Having scouted out prime locations for settlements in the north and south two settler caravans are prepared. The night before they leave A massive festival is thrown Celebrating the bright future of not only the settlers but for the Cathi people as a whole. when the morning comes much many Cathi are still coming down from the merriment and ~fun~ that was had

actions
In the north where the fruit trees grow thick and healthy near the river's edge is founded the town of Azusa in time the primary exports of this town will be fruits, fish, and lumber. Until then it is the site of the boundless opportunities

In the south where the winds yowl across oceans of lush grass-covered plains and where Bigsnots roam unchallenged and docile in there nature the town of Lusk in time, this small settlement will grow into a prosperous town of farmers and ranchers, supplying much of the nation's vegetables and meats

Along the river near the capital, a series of fish farms are constructed to help meant the ever-growing demand for food
>>

1.Hmm, expanding has lead to wonderful things. Why not move some? Expand southward
2.This much lands needs people to organize it lest it goes to waste. A governmental body to manage the land and resources is created.

1. The success of moss farms is immediately apparent, and every stone lord worth his crust upon the hills patrols his trench of green life with his band of spawn, stealing water from the community pools in night raids along for battle. Lo-hai spread north across the craggy hill, chasing the smell of moist salty air from the north. The carved trenches now stretch from the lakefront, to beachside in a long narrow parallel and intersecting (parrallel being prime territory, intersections being risky due to constant raids)

2.
Spaced evenly across the trenches, at every trench intersection is a dug Water Basin for use of all Lo-hai. For the Eldest declared long ago in the dark grottos before light greeted the stone stars once more that all Lo-hai from himself to the lowliest war-spawn have the right to water. The drinking holes are sacred, but the paths too and from are very much not so, ambushes on thirsty stone lords that were too ambitious in their moss farming become a common tactic. The dug earth and stone are used to build up and protect these basin, while furrows in the hills collect rain water.

>1: attempt to tame the bears in the north
These creatures look hearty, as do the ones in the south. However, those among us have noticed that the northern, fur-covered creatures look just a slight bit more friendly. In order to tame them, as all animals are tamed, we use the tried and true method of mentally communicating with them, while offering some sort of food source. No matter how simple their minds may be, we should still hear something back.

>2: Encircle the western lake
"you see this body of water here? I don't know what's on the other side of it, but these fish have to come from somewhere," said the shavii, not knowing that fish are born in the water.

>The New Moon rises.
1.

Pale feet curl agasint a marble floor, agasint a palace floor made from such expensive materials. A Natch, with paled skin staring up, at the moon above, at the fingers wrapped around her cheeks.

The flash of fangs, the hint of a heart hammering, the swell and ache of two bodies pressed so tight as fangs drink, as a body loosens, as chanting is softly heard, as sense leaves a fledgling.

Let down, eye's fading.

They awaken, essence writhing under skin, a flush of yellow on cheeks, for tonight, a moonblood is born.
>Let the birth of many mooblooded begin today, Natch find themselves joining their brethern in a mass celebration of the newest new moon of the year! War spawn are sent across the moss trenches, not at war- but all moving as one and bearing great tonnages of shell-struts, bowl ships, and other building materials upon their back and in arm. The ranging Stone-Lords set their soldier/children about digging into the sands for grottos, and constructing the obsidian shell forts across the beach side, as a new water front home of a salty lake as far as the Lo-hai can see stretches before them. The Necraket and their closest family call to order yet another grand celebration, this time in a curious location of flat land, north of Zumakamas, a fair trek from the settlement, though they themselves appeared to not be present.

This gave the builders time to get around to improving the housing across the thriving colonies, as well as another excuse for celebrations.
This time though they are of a more tame nature rarely enforced during impromptu revelling, paradoxically stirring excitement as citizens ponder the occasion.

Five days of grand celebrations occur, with the usual host of activities dotted around.
Skullcarvers set up shop nearby to carve sacred symbols of heroism for those who place well in games of sport or intelligence.

Large hunting parties open their doors to this years new adults, inviting the men who have recently been given their mask to take up arms and join chase

Many partake in games of chance, displays of beauty or extravagance, indulge in purchasing fine textiles or overindulge in drink. Mock pairups are held where family elders go about introducing potential future brides and grooms to eachother, or arranging weddings, a popular pastime for those at the end of their lives.

Armed Crosis soldiers set up camp nearby the main one, focussing almost entirely on drilling and stirring their men into a zealous frenzy. Armed men separate from the camp to provide protection and keep a general order to the events, notably the more debauched and raunchy events that are prone to start fights, also being tasked with attempting to recruit more young men to their ranks.

At the end of the fifth day of celebration, Necraket Sekraphon Eclipon emerges for the first time in the celebrations to a satisfied crowd, to announce the purpose behind the celebrations. They declare to all gathered that this land is to be the future site of a grand monument to Zuma, and the celebrations held have endowed it with positive energy.
The sages and omens all return with encouraging news, much to the applause of all attending.

The speech is marked off by a declaration that constructing the pyramid is to be declared a Sacred Duty, such that all those who die while assigned to it are automatically considered to have glorious deaths, sparking a new even greater drive for worker recruitment.

The trees here are less dense than that of Wooded Encampment CardinalW. As such, that makes this territory quite desirable. Almost like a vacation spot, where we may live amongst nature, without the burden of busy workers surrounding us on all sides.

>2: experiments with summoning
back at Lz 022, researchers are trying to figure out how and why we are able to summon our young into existence, designing them how we please, as far as height and the length of their limbs goes. These new imposing structures will shelter the Necraztzi for countless generations.
The idea is quite simple, to stack stone in an easy shape, but under the surface it will be much more difficult, as the stone will need to be cut in large blocks and transported across the waters, assuming it is to be constructed on the great grasslands of the capital. It's not long after the elves venture too deep into the marsh that they are beset by the beasts, making their attempts at traps difficult, but in the midst of a struggle, one elf not yet seen is able to use a component of the trap, being a net, to subdue a beast. The elves manage to haul the beast back from the marsh, but in doing so, they discover it beginning to release a deep moan and start to convulse along with portions of its leafy body falling off the further from the marsh it is taken.
Attempts to quell the rage of the marshbeasts are less than fruitful, only seeming to sprout flowers from a charging beast before it reaches its prey. Only when one member of the party hauling back the initial captured beast tried to use a similar spell did they notice it to both calm and heal it, but not entirely. Perhaps the magic is too weak as of now, or simply cannot progress past that stage.

This parcel of land is quite soothing and serene, littered with patches of grassland concealing the sky with a canopy of leaves above. It was a short time after settling the land that one Shavii noticed a strange creature beyond the treeline. Standing a great height, and walking on all fours with its long head hung high, it sighted the Shavii before letting loose a burst of air past its lips with a harsh shout before galloping off into the distance. Worrisome.
Experiments on summoning new Shavii would allow certain features to be formed in younglings. Only through witnessed examples are they able to visualize, as raw imagination proves too difficult to focus upon, the Shavii are able to copy features such as the ears of those new pets seen in the nation, or the wings of a bird, though their application purely aesthetic.

In our attempts to speak to this beast, or beasts, we will use the same mental connectivity we've been using so far. Hopefully, if we study them long enough, we may be able to understand the language in which they think.

It takes lots of mental processing power to stand on two needle legs, without assistance. So much so that our minds are impaired when we stand up. However, a creature with an absurdly long tail was recently discovered. This could be the key to our balance issues. Prancing about the new luscious lands, scouts spy what appears to be a settlement of humanoids, but not much more information can be revealed without first revealing themselves to potential enemies. New creatures not seen before are also found along the river, walking on four short limbs with a long tail and thick flesh, they hiss and growl at intruders.
As far back as oral tradition recalls, the history of the Lo-hai is set in stone to be cherished and remembered for centuries to come.

Land is taken, and maps marked with new information and borders.
With the application of new magic, common injuries and sicknesses become a problem only to those living far from practitioners of the arcane.

Finally, all is going well enough to focus once more upon expansion.

Order settlers to flock down river to the edge of the wetlands, both actions on pushing our borders.

Well then, let's expand the way we were recommended to then, if it looks good, then it's worth doing.

>Action 2
We've seen some effect on the land from that ritual we've been using, let's start trying to find a way to expand it, to make our lands verdant, strong and to change it fully, as reflection of the moon goddess.

>expand west across the river and over the plans to the western wetlands

>Break throughs in magic have allowed for enchantments to be made commonplace for weapons and armor. weapons are sharper lighter and hit harder, armor is more durable, offers more protection and is lighter.

1.Confounded beasts! We wish to co-exist together, but you're making this very hard. Well, we won't give up just yet. Our ancestors never did so shall we. We will begin a ritual of process calling upon the Spirits to help us remember our magic. We will create a large circle between Relb and Pexie where we will sacrifice our best food and jewelry to entice them.
2. Hmm, the island isn't that large, but it suitable. We will continue expanding eastward while we mapping the land when we will better scout it.

>1: travel east
from the point at which we last trailed the hoofed beast, we continue east. Wherever the creature went, it was in a real hurry. If we consult it, we might be able to bring calm to its panic.

>2: claim the eastern lake
As much as we've voiced concern with traveling east, there's a whole other body of water here, which we haven't even begun to claim. Just like the last, we hope that it will bring more resources to Lz 022.

1.
The soil of Lo-hai hills is prospected, seeking what may be hidden below the earth.

2.
The Lo-hai haul one of their ship skiffs into the river, seeing how far the current will take them. These strange hissing legged creatures should they become aggressive will be hunted, but otherwise they are left to be. These strange two-legs are approached and offered an obsidian spear, as clearly something horrible has happened to these people, stripping them of their shells.
