The morning was a blur. More like a 12 hour Blur. And really it lasted from 6 to 6. That kind of morning. Rest was mandatory, so the psykers had to hypnotize us into going into 4 hour power naps at a time. I kept getting nightmares of my sister being eaten by the bugs in her school at Iron Knot Elementary. We had to keep checking and rechecking equipment. Ty polished the fuck out of his shield religiously , like he was washing off a murder scene.

Command says the harbor is a big deal. Securing it will get us the big boats for an expedited evacuation from the city to the sconey island beachhead. Which is likely where a lot of people are holed up - or hived to hell.

Back to the mission. We've been getting a slow drip of recruits, they decided that all air traffic would land civilians here since the Northwestern base was full. That meant more civvies looking at us, the EDF cadets getting ready to do battle with the bugs.

A quick and dirty mockup of the fight ahead. I believe we can expect the xenos to hit us in anywhere from 3 to 6 clumps, depending on how angry we make them, and how quickly. Approaching enemies travel about 3 large purple hexes per 2 turns. Conversely, most of us can travel 1-2 carefully per turn, 2-4 at a run.

What follows may change if brown xenos are tougher than estimated, or rescue becomes part of our mission.

If we mean to minimize collateral damage, it's up to our Martials, snipers and suppressors to clear the confines of the dock.

Our KLt can take some good initial shots at the red group at the dock, before keeping watch north along with Altana and the AQT, our two HMGs. That should deal with the 2-3 northern waves in fairly short order, and let them seek clear targets on the docks.

Anyone certain of a position they want to take, let me know. I can toss you there a turn or two ahead of schedule.

Are you suggesting approach leading from the elevation-5 area in the SE? I'm guessing that's a control tower or lighthouse, therefore currently reachable by water or air only. Whether deployment is possible there is likely between CO and Command. Good place for our snipers if we can get them there, though.

In which case, it's a question of whether we want to try to use the L2 hill to hide us from the two yellow west groups, or attract them immediately to a force on the center west road. I tend toward the former since it bypasses a few swarms if successful, and encounters brown xenos at the same rate as the latter if not. Albeit stacking everyone up on the same bridge will require us to cross with discipline, that our armor neither impedes nor is impeded.

The Hightower has a high cyclic rate of fire and 200 bullets. Please use it. Don't fire 6 shots, I had it installed because it fires up to ten per burst. And then it can keep bursting until it runs out of munitions. Why did you fire the main cannon? I don't understand. Don't fire the main cannon until it's lined up properly. Why would you do anything you just did? None of it makes any sense! can you avoid touching the cannon in the future?

Southern forces clear out and continue making a fighting retreat East towards the docks. Forward troops should try and clear any remaining resistance attacking frogs in the containers.
If we can clear out enough room on the docks, we need to set up a rally point to repel the oncoming bugs.

Sir; Sloppy just sloppy. Piloting armor into infantry lanes instead of acting as the perimeter will only serve to not only limit your area of control but cause collateral damage as our own hard units plow into one of ours. The opposite of What They Should Be Doing.

It was 20, must have disappeared among all the rest of everything going on in our immediate surroundings. And technically you can use the d100, as the 10's slot will be used for any d10's. I will note that your gun has accuracy "ratings" which aren't quite percentages to hit, as your 40 rating for example hits on 60+. A good way to mentally process how hitting stuff in the system works is by adding your d100 roll to the rating listed on your weapon, if it goes above 100 you hit. So keep up the good work Comrade!
