>>4110513well, let's open that bottle with mikeyif he is not availible check on the pilot and get a damage report on the ship
>>4110534QM: You can drop in on whoever you like in whatever order. You can visit someone, visit someone else, then go back to the first person. It's mass effect time. Except no one's doing calibrations. They might be doing other things, but they will still have time for you.
>>4110567>It's mass effect timeAnd Mike is our Garruk. Let's start by paying him a visit.
>>4110513have we read that journal?is the stocking goblins sized? we could give it to HB, if it's normal give it to burstock I guess
>>4110513Check on Lumsden, get a sit rep in the ship.Is hull integrity a thing?
>>4110578QM: It's your journal. The stocking is human sized, but it's just one stocking, not a pair of them.Anyways, that's two votes for Mike, so he's our first port of call.
>>4110513As a destination I say we head to Liani forest to find that cop.We should report the stuff here >>4110584We can cut it up and make robers masks for everyone in case we do something shady
>>4110589I think Bodds went to her HQ, maybe at ROJKAWG.
>>4110608That works for me too
>>4110577Our Garrus*? Who's our Tali then?
>>4110622Burstock seems like a LiaraRichter maybe, but noWe don't have a Tali actually, a young prodigee looking for her place in the galaxyIf anyone would qualify as Tali it would be HB actually, they both even have the racial prejudice of being thiefs
>>4110589>>4110608>>4110619Please stop trying to find Boddicker. She'll shoot us as soon as we give her a reason to, and we're bound to set her off the more we talk to her. Also, she makes HB jealous.
>>4110635Why would she shoot us man? Calm down, she was chill last time we talked. And HB was jealous of almost everyone already
>>4110635I'm on board with finding Bodd because I want an elf in the cree to appease the diversity department, HB was very convincing with that story when we broke free. That and because a not nice party member would be interesting too.
>>4110641I have to admit it's meta-knowledge, mostly. She doesn't exist just in the Garlands, and her personality seems to be very similar to her Ragged Edges incarnation.
>>4110657She scored major points with me for filling the ex-boss full of lead
You walk down a few flights of stairs and walk up to Mikes room. Mike has his door open. You walk in, but still knock on the open door as a courtesy.Mike is apparently pretty excited to have a room and has got himself pretty set up. he is in his default spot, in the corner, working on his karubin, with a set of small screwdrivers.Mike sets his work aside when you enter."Did you need something?">1. Any thoughts on where we should go next?>2. How you doing Mike?>3. [offer Vodkant]>4. [Offer Punt e Mes]>5. I wanna get better with guns, Mike. You seem like the guy for that.>6. Mike, I wanna know more about ...[insert own]>7. [Insert own]>8. You still hurt at all?
>>4110680>>1. Any thoughts on where we should go next?while offering>4. [Offer Punt e Mes]and>7. [Insert own]"who's the waifu on the wall?"
>>4110680>4. [Offer Punt e Mes]>5. I wanna get better with guns, Mike. You seem like the guy for that.Umm mybe stop drilling this guy in girls and stuff for at lest one day.
>>4110657QM: There is a Boddicker in all of my games. They are never actually evil but they all have, at least a slight mean streak. This Boddicker, much like the RE one is a long way from evil. She still does her job. She still thinks shes a hero. She's still an egotistical opportunist. But she wont just KILL you. I'm not running that sort of game.Recruiting her will have its own difficulties, should you choose to, but it would be safe to meet her again.
>>4110707nah, not pushing him, I'm genuinelly curious to know if it's some drama character or just a random poster
>>4110686>>4110707 You offer the bottle of Punt e Mes to Mike and he holds up his hand."Ah. Sorry. Not to be rude but I'm not much for Vermouth. It's a little medicinal for my pallet. It's wasted on me."Mike gestures to the Hennessey on his shelf."Grab that down if you like.">"Any thoughts on where we should go, next?"Mike draws on his pipe."There's no real rush to drop of loot in Dunnlivin again is there? Although I dunno what our potion count is like. It's all a matter of your priorities. Are we looking for new hires? Tryin to find Edgewater? Trying to find Jorn? Looking for clues? If you can tell me that I might have some ideas.">"who's the waifu on the wall?"Mike exhales smoke"Just some art, i think...">"I wanna get better with guns, Mike. You seem like the guy for that."Mike smiles." Oh, uh..sure! What'd you have in mind? Multiple shots? Crippling strikes?"
>>4110783Say we are looking for Jorn, what would your idea be?And if you have none regarding that, what about clues or new hires?
>>4110783We have the aoe covered with blast, so maybe a trick to fire two bullest at the same target or a crippling shot would be nice
>>4110795Blast has some pretty clear limitations as an AoE though. We're already running up against enemies that can survive it with ease. But we do need better single-target damage for dealing with bosses and such.
>>4110783Crippling strikes would be a good thing to look into, burning enemy turns is always useful, 'specially against big groups. Being able to hit multiple targets is always good though.>>4110649Personally, as much as I love Boddicker I think we'd be better off finding someone else to recruit if that's what we're looking for. She's already pretty well set up as a Vanguard, and I don't think we're gonna be able to offer her anything better than that - besides, who the hell wants a cop in their company? Setting yourself up to get narked on there.
>>4110994This
>>4110994Eh, knowing her, she's not above doing things against the law if they benefit her and she doesn't get caught, but I'd still prefer a dynamic where we just help each other on occasion rather than full on recruiting her.
>>4111021You're probably right, but I don't wanna make too many assumptions in that regard without getting to know her in this setting more. I'm absolutely with you on that dynamic though - she's definitely a good ally to have, but I think it'd more beneficial to both parties for us to be separate.
>>4111030we should wait and see before deciding that I think
>>4110788Mike gets two glasses and the Hennessey off his shelf and pours a couple. You ask:>Say we are looking for Jorn, what would your idea be?Mike hands you a glass."Depends on how she gets around. If she was between Scadam and Kiani when she found out what we did to Scadam, she has three main options for a place to hole up. If she's the outdoorsy type - not the impression I get - she could camp at Kiani. Other than that her best options would be going to Kretch or the Zakub farmstead if they have rooms available."Mike takes a drink.>Crippling strikes would be a good thing to look into, burning enemy turns is always useful, 'specially against big groups. Being able to hit multiple targets is always good though.Mike nods and holds out his free hand.==============================QM: Boddicker, as a vanguard, already has a sweet deal going and as such, would charge a daily rate to be a team member, she WOULD be useful but how useful really is up to you. There other cops to befriend if you want to someone on the inside. There is a whole world to explore.
>>4111173>Dyou think it'd be worth checking in with the Vanguards to let them know Edgewater's gonna be on the move again? Might help if they can keep an eye out for the troll while we track down Tallupo.
>>4111173About how much is this daily rate and how long would each "term" have to be? Y'know, could we "rent" her for a week if we needed the extra muscle? Say we wanted some inside info as a one shot favor, how big would that "bribe" have to be?
>>4111173hmmm Zakub....we freed that cow thing so we could drop by to check on it and see if she is there
>>4111194>D'you think it'd be worth checking in with the Vanguards to let them know Edgewater's gonna be on the move again? Might help if they can keep an eye out for the troll while we track down Tallupo.Mike bares his teeth as he swallows, appreciating the warm alcohol."The vanguard we met in Kiani. She was riding a rinkan, right? The speed of her mount means she patrols a wide area. She's very much an observe and report or guerilla warfare style operative. By herself, even if she's good - she's no gonna solo a troll. But if we assume her route covers Kiani through Bacardi and all the wilderness in between, she's almost certainly seen Edgewater already. She's on her way to report him, has reported him already or she's dead."Mike pours himself another drink."Probably not that last one. But yeah, whatever I think of the Vanguards, a troll anywhere besides where the trolls are meant to be is their business."Mike continues to hold his hand out.>hmmm Zakub....we freed that cow thing so we could drop by to check on it and see if she is there"Do you mean the buygullian or Jorn when you say she? Cause the buff wont be there yet."==========================>>4111195QM: You could pick her up for a week for the same cost as you gave your other employees for their last month. She'd want a room and a place for her rinkan as well, is all.Staying sweet with her is wise, but it's all about how far you want to go with it.
>>4111258>Mike continues to hold his hand out.Does he want us to give him our gun?
>>4111258the buff? do you mean Jorn or the buygullian? So Mike, I understand you are a pretty self sufficient guy, what do you plan to do with your money? something you want to do or someplace you want to reach?>>4111267if that is a yes I say we give it to him
>>4111258Give him a firm handshake and a smile
>>4111302Confirmed: Grels are dogs.
>>4111267>>4111268 You place your revolver in Mikes hand and he nods in thanks. He takes a seat at his desk, shakes the bullets out of it and begins to give it a once-over. He spins the chamber and frowns. He takes a small metal box out of his desk draw. It's filled with brushes and small vials of oil. He starts working on the gun."Expensive piece. Previous owner clearly had it for show and never looked after the damned thing. I hate that."You cut through his muttering. Taking a small sip of henny.>"When you say the buff? do you mean Jorn or the buygullian?""Oh, I mean the buyfugllian (buff-lin). Call it prejudice but between being a well dressed elf and being an aspiring prudemagus I can't imagine Jorn benches much."He spins the chamber again. Smiling this time.>"So Mike, I understand you are a pretty self sufficient guy, what do you plan to do with your money? something you want to do or someplace you want to reach?"Mike smacks his lips."Spent a bit just setting this room up, to be honest. The rest on maintenance of my gear. Got a bit left but I dunno what to do with it at the moment. I'll just keep saving."Mike reloads your revolver, clicks it shut and hands it back to you."Nice as it is, this thing is strictly double action. It's no karubin, but its barrel is still rifled so it pretty damned accurate for a handgun."Mike stands up, smiling."I can get you started on two separate handgun techniques. Each one will use up one of your four level up points - so you'll only have two left""I can teach you:Hammer Time: This will allow you to shoot multiple opponents. Or one multiple times. As many times as you have bullets. It will be a hard dice roll to do it, but if you keep practising it'll get easier. Keep in mind, if you fail the dice roll you'll still get a regular shot off. So it's good - but make sure it's not all you're counting on.Kneecap: This allows you to fire a target shot into whatever will slow your opponent down. It does your weapon damage -ignores armour and will mean they miss their next turn. It will also require a dice roll, albeit an easier one and will still let you do a regular shot if you fail."Mike scratches his head."If you wanna learn the first tier of either these attacks, we can head on over to the practice dummy."
>>4111321Ooooh, yes. Yes please.
>>4111321Are we going to be a gunslinging muscle mage?
>>4111321I say only the kneecap for a stunI want to save level points for MAGIC!
>>4111347we're not really gonna be a muscle mage, we just want to be a fitter one>>4111349we only need one of our 4 points for magic, even if we get both techniques and level up our magic we still have one left over
>>4111364Really? I thought the "I cast Fist" memery was still going strong
>>4111321>I'll see if i can pick up one of those cleaning kits next time we're in town. A beauty like this deserves good treatment, eh?If we only got time for one, I say we learn Kneecap. If we got time for both, then both. These sound crazy useful.>>4111347The true path is that of the gatmancer, the gun wizard. See if we can learn some more spells to buff our piece.
>>4111385back in thread 5 I think Culexus said that we could manage to become a thanomagus, vitamagus or prudemagus within the scope of the quest, but the path of a lacertomagus is hella difficult and we won't be able to before the end
>>4111385Far as I know being a muscle wizard requires a bigass pilgrimage and is basically the kind of thing you have to dedicate your whole life to. In my opinion, we got a good enough gig going on here that muscle wizardry isn't that appealing, especially since we already have Richter here to do the damage when necessary.
>>4111335>>4111349>>4111364>>4111385You and Mike walk down the corridor towards the rec room.>">I'll see if i can pick up one of those cleaning kits next time we're in town. A beauty like this deserves good treatment, eh?"Mike shrugs."If you like, I got a spare. it's all yours."As you approach the rec room Mike turns to you."So wait, did you wanna learn hammer time or Knee-cap?">1. Hammertime>2. Kneecap>3. Both>4. Changed my mind.First to three.
>>4111420>KneecapMemes demand our enemies take a bullet in the knee!
>>4111420>>3. Bothunlimited power
>>4111420>3. Both
>>4111447>>4111467>>4111505 Mike smiles."Both it is."Mike opens the door to the rec room, then immediately turns on his heel and goes to push you out."We'll come back later."There is a voice over Mike's shoulder."Oh, it's okay I'm just about done here."Mike winces, then turns around his face neutral."Cool. Just gonna do some shooting."Burstock smiles as you both enter the room. She twirls her kusarigama and prepares to hurl it at the melee practice dummy again."Sounds good to me, Mr. Shenandoah. You two have fun."Burstock stops and turns towards Mike"You're still hurt."Mike backs away."It's nothing...I've already used the on board..."Burstock smiles but wags her finger at Mike. He pulls away but she slides her hand through his cloak. And onto his chest."Broken ribs, Mr Shenandoah."There is an arc of yellow and pink lightning between them and Mike bristles. Burstock pats his chest."All done. Not so bad, yes?"Mike shakes his head.Burstock goes back to her corner and resumes practising.Mike turns to you."So, anyway..."
>>4111420>KneecapWe've got magic for AoEOn an unrelated note did we ever ask Mike what Joonda actually means?
>>4111583Joonda's the town Joey's from. Big wizard university there.>>4111547Give Mike a slightly knowing look, but don't mention anything.Let's start with kneecap.
>>4111547If this is a question of what we nab first before something potentially interrupts us again then kneecap comes first. Stuns are hella useful.
>>4111611You give Mike a slightly knowing look but don't say anything. He clearly appreciates it.>"Let's start with kneecap."Mike rubs his hands together."Proper. This thing doesn't have legs, but it all fairness, not everything we fight does, either. The premise of hitting a weak spot to hamstring an enemy transcends standard ternion anatomy. Basically, you find the sweet spot, this will work on a draugr or a slime or whatever. Wont actually kill either of those things but whatever." Burstock drops her kusarigama Mike glances to the side, briefly"Anyways, let's get you on some drills."Mike hands you the practice bullets."Roll me about 10 d10s. First in, best dressed.
Rolled 7, 1, 1, 8, 2, 7, 9, 1, 4, 5 = 45 (10d10)>>4111636
>>4111640Not great sorry.
>>4111640A few of your shots hit the places Mike tells you to aim for but a good amount miss the dummy completely."There was a lot of ones in that batch, Joodna."Mike digs the practice bullets out of the dummy and hands them back to you."Gimme another round. 10 d10s. Nice and slow, it's all good."
Rolled 7, 6, 3, 3, 8, 1, 8, 3, 5, 10 = 54 (10d10)>>4111643once more
>>4111643Gonna let someone else roll this time.
>>4111645Eyy, looking better.
>>4111645You fire a lot better this time. Only one shot misses completely and one is so good Mike actually whistles, impressed.Mike digs the bullets out, impressed."Let's round it up. Basically, now anytime you shoot some with that big iron you can roll a d100 - first in best dressed - if you roll under 55, and you make sure to say youre going for kneecap, you'll do a special kneecap attack. It ignores armour and will stun them for one turn."Mike folds his arms."You roll well enough and you've got the prick stun locked. With bullets."Mike pulls on the dummys shoulder and makes it wobble."This is gonna be harder I think. We're gonna practice HAMMERTIME. I need you to roll me...let's say...6 d12."
Rolled 5, 4, 6, 1, 3, 8 = 27 (6d12)>>4111656I love d12s, but do they love me?
>>4111664Looks like it, for the most part.
>>4111664Mike winces.'Won't lie. It's an advanced technique and I have seen worse attempts at it"Mike hands you the practice shots."All the same, lets have another shot at it. Don't aim at where it is. Aim at where it's going to be. Gimme another 6 d12s"
Rolled 8, 11, 3, 12, 11, 12 = 57 (6d12)>>4111683
>>4111685nice!
>>4111685You breathe deep and then fan the hammer at the moving target. All of your shots hit the targets on the dummy almost all of them on the bulls-eye.Mike throws his arms up like a sports fan."WHOA HOOOOOH! Would you look at that! Kid's a natural! Nice shooting, Tex!"Burstock, finishing her own training leans towards Mikes ear."Perhaps you're also a good teacher."Mike goes from green to red like a ripening pepper but fortunately Burstock has left the room.Mike clears his throat."So uh..YEAH! Next time we're in combat. Here's what you gotta do."Mike makes some dynamic hand gestures."Declare your trick shot. Kneecap or Hammertime. Make sure to list your target or targets when you do. At the same time, you gotta roll a 1d100. For kneecap, you gotta roll under 55. For hammertime, you gotta roll under 60."Mike steadies the dummy."Keep in mind that for hammertime, you can fire at multiple people or all at one. Up to six shots. So three gopniks could get a bullet each and some bigger dude gets the other 3."Mike puts his hands behind his back."Two things to consider with Hammertime. Firstly, unlike kneecap it doesn't ignore armour. Second of all - if you have a special round chambered and you fire all six shots - the special round will be one of them. SO watch out."Mike cracks his neck"Any questions?"
>>4111699Any limits to the amount of times we can use this? Like, is there anything stopping us from kneecapping every round?
>>4111699Do you think I could add a Hell's Heart while performing either of these trick shots?
>>4111699It's all pretty clear to me. Anything you wanna work on? Social combat, or some such?
>>4111699Does hammer time hit just one target or can it be used on multiple targets?
>>4111728nevermind I can't read
>>4111705You ask:>"Any limits to the amount of times we can use this? Like, is there anything stopping us from kneecapping every round?"Mike guides you back into the hall'Only thing stopping you is your amount of bullets. Your speedloader will give you one free reload. After that, things get slow. But you could always buy more speedloaders if you're worried.">>4111711>"Any limits to the amount of times we can use this? Like, is there anything stopping us from kneecapping every round?""Hmmm. You could definitely hells heart the KNEECAP. I dunno how it would work on the HAMMERTIME shot."Mike looks around"I could..drop in on Ms. Burstock and ask her for you." Mike says , scratching his face.>"It's all pretty clear to me. Anything you wanna work on? Social combat, or some such?"Mike shrugs."People seem to like you. But I'm not sure that's something you can teach. I dunno who could. I assume you're just one of those sorts of guys."Mike opens the door to his room."I say this without bitterness, but it probably doesn't hurt that you're not utterly hairless, milky eyed and weird-tall. You're the good sort of tall."
>>4111733"Mike, you've got amazing cheekbones and I know elves who would kill for ears like yours. Plus, my height only really works until the jacket comes off. After that, total beanpole."I'm leaning towards practicing magic next.
>>4111733>"I could..drop in on Ms. Burstock and ask her for you." Mike says , scratching his face.Would be great if you could, thanks.>give him a grin
>>4111733>"I could..drop in on Ms. Burstock and ask her for you." Mike says , scratching his face.Good idea. You do that.>"I say this without bitterness, but it probably doesn't hurt that you're not utterly hairless, milky eyed and weird-tall. You're the good sort of tall."I dunno, the world is pretty big, there's a lot of people out there that like that exotic "Chosen One" look. If we're talking aesthetics only, you're an experience most people have never had. I dunno if it makes things easier, but you could make it work in your favor.
>>4111733Will we have to spend points to improve the numbers on these new skills or can we just practice to get better? 55 and 60 aren't total garbage but they don't exactly scream consistency either.
>>4111744You pat mike on the shoulder.>""Mike, you've got amazing cheekbones and I know elves who would kill for ears like yours. Plus, my height only really works until the jacket comes off. After that, total beanpole."Mike flusters a little."Hey now! Nep was just telling me you'd be working out lately. I -I mean you must have been! A beanpole couldn't keep their arms steady like that! Come on!"Mike rubs his face"Cheekbones, eh? Is that a thing?"You nod.>"If you could drop in on Burstock for me and ask her about what we discussed, that'd be great."You grinMike nods and scratches head."O-okay! Cool! W-will do!"
>>4111750QM: You can practice either technique on the ballistics dummy any time you have the level up points to do so.It will not go up by as much as when you first did it, but it will definitely increase. It will cost you a point to raise your numbers.
>>4111752Well, she likes gin, if you got some she'd probably appreciate it.
>>4111755She's got a fat ol' barrel of that already, far as I know.I dunno, she digs new and unique experiences, if anything can be made of that.
>>4111755>>4111758 Mike thinks for a moment. His eyes widen."I have this one booze I've been carrying with me! It's a little like gin but it's infused with rhubarb! I'd never seen anything like it!"Mike starts rummaging through his backpack. You were considering meditating on magic next? That's done in your room. Proceed there?
>>4111765Both Mike's plan and meditating sound good to me
>>4111765Actually, I'd like to check in with the captain first, see if the ship took any damage and if she's got any ideas on where to go next.

>>4111825I get the impression Gil wasn't exactly in it for love, so I can't imagine he'd mind that much. Reminds me, we haven't caught up with him in a minute, if we have time we should check in.
>>4111833Well, we never know and I bet he doesn't get many relations the way he ended up....poor guy. Burstock will end up with her own personal haren , which is kinda cool too
>>4111825Don't worry, Gil won't lose his spot, Mike will just be added to the fold. She's like the ship's morale officer and she is both good and enjoys her job.I just hope neither Gil or Mike try to change her, if you like someone you like all of that person, don't try to change it to suit you better.
>>4111784>She raises her arms and makes a motion towards you but stops herself.Did that look like a "I wanna hug you but I'm not sure how you'd take it" kinda thing? We did hug her that one time, but we haven't done it again, so it's understandable. If it is, go with the hug.
>>4111854she did introduce herself as "ship's thot"
>>4111899I also want to hug Lums
>>4111789>>4111790>>4111818>>4111825>" I'm fine, but how's the old girl? I'm so sorry she got caught up in this."Lumsden taps a few dials."Left engine was dinged. It's leaking mogspit, but very very slowly. Everything else is just some surface damage. Put simply, it can wait but if I do another hot extraction like that we're gonna be looking a little bad.">"We've made a start, but our work is far from done. Any ideas where we should go?"Lumsden turns back to you, scratching her head."I've become such a worrier. My first thought is so is just going back to Dunnlivin so that you can get the supplies you need and so we can fix up Sk..The Silver Lining. But I know it can wait. Especially if we're not going anywhere dangerous next.">"For what it's worth, we made enough to get repaired AND add some upgrades. Under your advisement, of course.""Well, you seem to be acquiring new crew members like most people pick up quests, so you're either going to need to remodel some of the rooms or have new ones installed. If you want me to keep doing hot extractions for you, then armour is going to be a must. It wont hold forever, but it'll be good for a bunch of dangerous encounters before the ship is any real danger."Lumsden walks over an takes a bite from a sandwich she's been ignoring."A landing gear will mean we can land anywhere on the map, not just where there is water. That gives us some options, especially in terms of what we can load onto the ship. Provided we land somewhere safe, there's no drawbacks."Lumsden licks her teeth."And I guess if you have any interest in going back to Joonda, or any other GTU city, you're going to need a clearance code. it's either that or I have to drop you outside the city. Not a massive deal, but it limits your options."You take a step towards Lumsden, your tone a little serious.>"Another thing, Xhuge:"Lumsden's eyebrows very slightly raise. "How did you feel, watching us from up there? After what you told me about your adventuring times, I wanna know - does it make you feel like you should be out there with us? Or does it bring back bad memories you'd rather stay away from?"Lumsden smiles a little, but turns her gaze down."I fly high, and I fly in circles, so I wasn't watching you the whole time, and when I could see you it was from afar. It filled me with worry but...knowing you guys are out there doing good for people..it did make me a little envious. it made me miss it."You smile at her>"we could use maybe some soldiering expertise."Lumsden sighs and turns back to the wheel, gripping it."I'm not getting you killed.">>4111899You consider hugging Lumsden as she was considering doing to you earlier. >>4111950You hesitate and think better of it. You've read enough terrible comics to know how hugging a tall girl from behind goes. Better safe than sorry. There is an awkward silence as you just stand there.Lumsden eventually turns back towards you."You okay there?"
>>4111961a Haremy quest isn't that bad, HB doesn't get that jealous.

>>4112120Hell yeah, this is gonna be handy. I'm sure there's gonna be plenty of people to interrogate in the coming days.I say we swing by Surrey next, see what she's got cooking up.

>>4112120That's gonna be extra useful, now we don't have to threaten and torture. Well I mean if we have to we have to but still great
>>4112127You wander over to the lab.Surrey flips up her goggles and regards you."Mr Donuts. To what do I owe this honour?"
>>4112159>I'll ask around, but don't get your hopes up>Just swinging by to see how things are going round here. Anything new in development?
>>4112159Sup surrey, how is production going?I just happened to stumble upon a considerable amount of funds and I was wondering on what sort of investments we can do to pump more potions or some advanced stuff, get our business reaaaally of the ground.....despite it being on an airship......no matter....you got it right?
>>4112159Why? Are you in need of assistants?
>>4112159Mike might know something, being self-sufficient is bound to require some knowledge of medicine prep and that might transfer over.
>>4112159"No clue, I'll go ask when I get the chance . By the way you got any idea if there's other chemist around that worked for cheseapeak/oldguard because Edgewaters boy's seem to have some exotic equipment?"Check what the planter box is growing no one knows what's in it
>>4112182You shrug>"Why? Are you in need of assistants?"Surrey shakes her head."need is too strong a word. But there are some more menial tasks. Toasting seeds, measuring ingredients accurately - that if I didn't have to do them, I could spend a little more time doing the things only I can do. Put simply, whenever you tell me to stop making things and we take my current batch to market, we will have slightly more finished products to sell."You rub your chin>"I'll ask around, but don't get your hopes up"Surrey sips her coffee and smiles"never do.">"how is production going?""I think I'm on track to get a mana potion made every day and 6 mutterbottles - meaning effectively 3 pairs of mutterbottles made every day. This coffee is really helping, so I might be able to make a little more.">"Anything new in development?""No sir. Mutterbottles and mana potions. Just as you asked.">"I just happened to stumble upon a considerable amount of funds and I was wondering on what sort of investments we can do to pump more potions or some advanced stuff, get our business reaaaally of the ground.....despite it being on an airship......no matter....you got it right?"Surrey puffs out her cheeks and thinks."Short of hiring another qualified brewer or finding a place that sell advanced lab equipment. I think you've spent all the money you can. My product is good, though. If once it's done you package it right, sell it through the right person, to the right people it will do just fine."Surrey thinks. There are some rare mob drops that would...enhance our product. Give it an edge we could charge more for but... that's really pretty dangerous."
>>4112159We should probably emphasize upgrades to the alchemy lab as our first ship upgrades. It's the most direct reinvestment for more income.
>>4111385With Richter in the party it's an entirely pointless endeavour. We'd never match her, or come close.
>>4112208Ok, tell me about those mobs, dangerous stuff is my part of the business while you brew and we are currently without a destination

>>4112188You click your fingers.>"Mike might know something, being self-sufficient is bound to require some knowledge of medicine prep and that might transfer over."Surrey closes another jar and shakes it, she smiles at it."Mike? Ah yes. The polite one from the barbecue. I don't want to pull him away from the more adventurous side of the business since, as best as I can figure, it's how you plan to keep the money coming in until the product is finished. BUT if he has nothing better to do, I should like to see what he can do in here.">"By the way you got any idea if there's other chemist around that worked for cheseapeak/oldguard because Edgewaters boy's seem to have some exotic equipment?""Funny you should ask. Me and Siarka were talking about that last time I was in Dunnlivin. Word is that the famous brewer Eccard Hilbosh - the man who helped develop the mutterbottle to begin with - has been seen around these parts. He became a recluse years ago. Gave away his fortune and all his estate. Never told anyone why."Surrey shrugs"He'd be the same age as me, but he's an industry legend. If someone in this neck of the woods is making high end chemicals -and it's not me - it could well be him. Wherever he is, though, it won't be in a civilised town."You check the planter box. Something has sprouted. You don't know what.
>>4112221You fold your arms>"Ok, tell me about those mobs, dangerous stuff is my part of the business while you brew and we are currently without a destination"Surrey sighs."Dwarven bone meal, Draugr residue, Funnel Web Pajak venom or Rusalka luciferins. Any of those would do. But I don't want you risk your - or anyone elses life - to get that crap. We'll be fine without it.">>4112227>"where can we get more equipment for the lab, and where would you suggest we look for an assistant for you?""Not in this map segment I don't think."

>>4112446>>4112441>>4112431It'll probably come off as us not being appreciative of his food desu. Cooks like to be employed as full time cooks and don't like it when you imply they should add something else into their duties.

She chirps with delight at the sight of it and takes a sips from the bottle."Favourite bases spirit is easy.">"What do you think this crew needs?""it's not even a matter of what it needs, it's a matter of what it wants. If we're dotting eyes, our own thanomagus and prudemagus might be smart. Anyone who knows the first thing about the law, marketing or how to maximise profits couldn't hurt. Heck, maybe they're the same person.">"Where to next, do you think?""Ah, you don't wanna ask me that. Got too much goblin in me. After all these forests and small towns I wanna see some neon and glad rags. The real ring-a-ding stuff. See how they do in the big cities.">"What's the appeal of big cities, anyways?""Can't speak for others, but for a gob, it's where the opportunities are. Big city types never finish their meals or watch their wallets. It's the noise and the neon and the modern music. They drink and they gamble and they can't wait to part with their money."Highball snickers."There's more of us in those places than people know. Us dust-outs."You finish your sandwich>"You know any other goblins?""When I was a teen, yeah. I used to hustle with another goblin about my age. Different burrow. Did odd jobs for an up and up also cutting her own path. Parted ways a couple back. All had different plans."She smiles, offering you the bottle.

>>4118798>humans are the grand champions of snu snu in all fantasyNot in here, though. Remember, elves can breed with both humans and orks, but those can't breed with each other. Since 2 won, I'll vote for leaving it as the prompt suggested.
>>4118798This setting seems to be elves since they are the ones who can breed with the other 2 races
You sit up and start pulling your clothes on.>"Well, mums a wizard so she's pretty worldly but dad, well...dads a farmer and a big city elf. Dunno how he'll take it."You shrug your jacket on.>"End of the day, my life is my own and they gotta deal with that. You know what I mean?"Highball nods. She does."Anything else you wanna talk about there, J-Train?"
>>4118819"Yeah, you look great with your hair wet."Blow her a kiss and walk out.Let's fond Burstock, we still haven't talked and I want her imput and maybe connect more with the healer, we seems to be always butting heads evem if in a tender way
>>4118804QM: Elve seem to have sufficient genetics in common with both. And indeed, as former heads of the empire are actually considered the default species.before the term 'grel' was coined, the term was half-human not half-elf.That said, all races still have outdated stereotypes and humans, though unable to interbreed to the degree elves can, are considered the most likely to try shtupping another race.
>>4118827Seems we took upon our human mother than with our goblin fever
>>4118833I meannobody SAID our mother is humanshe could be a grel
>>4118826You smile at Highball>" Yeah, you look great with your hair wet."You blow her a kiss, and she catches it. She stands up when you enter. She looks you up and down and nods approvingly."Congratulations, boss">1. Burstock, not to be heavy about this but you give me a disproportionate amount of sass.>2. Wont cost you a level up point, either. It'll just be some tough rolls. We will level up your liver"She sits down and sips her drink, she crosses her legs. There's nowhere to sit, so you pace.>"So uh..we've now both been with goblins. Anything I should expect?""Random gifts, odd ways of expressing their affection, she will flirt but if she's with you she's with you. Don't expect her to move in with you but...she's got your back. I'm extrapolating a little. Gose was a different sort of gob in many ways."Burstock looks a little wistful."But a top gob is a top gob.">"Where do you think we should go next?"Burstock shrugsShe glances at the map. Barely looking"Fuck it. Let's go to the farm.">"If you're unsure of where to go - I know you are big on trying new stuff, ask Richter to show you a neat technique she got, tell me when so I can watch too."Burstock sips her drink noisily."Riiiight. I still gotta break the ice with that chick sometime. Can't get a read on her.">"Little outta nowhere but I'm collecting info. What's your favourite food?""Pierogis and gherkin soup. Although it does make me thirsty."Burstock thinks."Thirstier.">"Speaking of food, you won't have to pay for the spitroast now that you have two boy toys on board."She chuckles "Even I'm not up for it THAT often. jefe. And I could be wrong about this but I dunno if Gilcrest is looking at anything ongoing. His proclivities lead me to think he's an onward and upward sorta guy with higher mountains to climb, so to speak."She smiles looking sidelong"Mike, though. Mike was sweet."
>>4119048>GoseOf course.>PierogisGoddammit, you just reminded me that the Polish bar I usually went to for pierogies closed down. Damn, now I'm jonesing for some.

If you need anything you can just tell me, I got your back, alright?
>>4119100And before we leave, either on the next post or the other ask this"Out of curiosity, where did my mage hands end up? I didn't have time to aim when we were bringing andy down?"Going to sleep, see ya guys
>>4119048>PierogisA woman with a refined pallet. Truly, we must introduce everyone to the wonders of Pierogis. Also, let's try whiskey. And remember folks, never drink both dark and light liquor during the same drinking session. Pick one type and stick to em'. Trust me, I don't know why it is, but mixing the two is a great way to end up with a skull splitting gut emptying hangover.
>>4119127One of the great things about drinking with a vitamagus is not having to worry about painful stuff.
>>4119086>"yeah, you and gilcrest share that trait it seems."Burstock pours herself another Gin"Superficially. I would get attacked, and heal, hide heal keep moving till I found a settlement."Burstock pours herself another drink"I had just been heading west the whole time. Through the Liebowitz cliffs and the marshes of Souldeep. Eventually I stopped in Ironbark. It's where I met her. Gose."Burstock sighs."Gose was a soldier. Her whole life was another reason to flex and protect. She never stopped to think. She was never aware of her size. Her armour was all chitin and hide, her weapon was an old mattock and a woodcutters axe but between the two of us, we could take down anyone. We fought and we fucked from right across the central band then back up to the orkish archipelagos. When we couldn't find anyone else, we found each other. No one had abs like her."Burstock finishes her drink again"She's still there. She started a family. Settled down a little but she still takes odd jobs. Me, I started back down south. >>4120096Honestly I'd avoid>"Oh man. To be a fly on the wall when you and Gose were going at it"due to it being kinda a weird thing to say to someone.
>>4120132It's perfectly fine as something you'd blurt out when drunk to the point of passing out, though. So I'd reserve it to when we reach that stage. It's approaching rapidly anyway.

>>4124627Why slips of paper? I don't think anyone's favorite food is a secret or something. Besides, we got Burstock's, Jones's and Highball's already (twice, in her case, but I guess people forgot since thread 5, and Joey is Joey), but it probably isn't the kind of question you ask in a team meeting. I know we try to be mostly informal, but being relaxed and being flighty are two different things, and we have to try to do our job as boss and take these kind of things a little seriously now and then. But yes, Kretch, and wrapping up the business with Jorn. I gotta say, I'm not even sure what kind of "wrapping up" we're gonna be doing. I feel for her, and I'd rather not kill her, but what are we gonna do? The town obviously won't want anything else to do with her since she brought Edgewater to them (even if they contributed to the whole damn thing by giving too much credit to Anderson's bullshit). What are we hoping to accomplish here?

>>4124713The slips of paper was not to keep anything a secret it was just to save time, it could be a list or whatever, just so they can write it down for us instead of we running arpund everyone asking fot itAs for Jorn, I don't know about you but we still have an open quest to kill Edgewater and she is her mage, I hope we don't kill her too, what I want is to get her out of the villain business but most importantly, she is the one that could give us the most info on Edgewater himself, habits, weeknesses, or whatever other information we can use. Maybe even help us take him down if she is not particularly fond of him (she didn't seems to be) amd want to right some of her wrongs. And she is the closest loose end
>>4124745As I'm going to sleep too here are some ideas on what to discuss.Present the idea to go after Jorn to get Edgewater, maybe solicit her help.Get ideas on what investments we can do with our moneySee if they have any suggestion as destination or product or shatever else

In a pretty short space of time."Highball chucklesSurrey, Jones and Lumsden shuffle a little, but nod.Mike raises his hand again."We have one old picture of her and it's from her wedding day. How are we gonna spot her?"You gesture to Richter>"Richter is familiar with the Tauloppos on some level.Richter does her best to describe Jorn, and Highball sketches her on the whiteboard.
>>4125549See, a nice image, Richter will be with me on the ground too, she already knows Jorn and it will probably help to ease her a little, or at least cpnvince her that we pack a mean punchParty should beJoeyHbBurstock for the healsRichter for familiarity and dps if needed.Mike keeps watch on the ship since we don't know if there will be another one of the Old Guard spotters on this town like there was in Dunnelivin
>>4125549"Richter between us and her how potent is her magic?"Nice, this gonna be another waifu
>>4125549" I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt, and if she can right more wrongs than she did it's fine by me, we do the best we can but we are by no means perfect after all."We spot her and I do the talking, anything else on those documents we grabed that could help besides the news reports? After that we open up to hear what course of actions they propose after we dealt with Jorn, either regarding Edgewater(can we take him like we are right now? Go after the alchemist?) or the old guard.>>4125574Seems good
>>4125574>Party should be>Joey>Hb>Burstock for the heals>Richter for familiarity and dps if needed.Can't. The Teamwork poster allows 4 party members for ONE outing, so we already spent that.
>>4125590It's one outing a day or one outing in general? If it is one a day we will probably take more than a day to reach that town.If it's one outing a day we may have to leave HB on board to have Richter and the healer with us.
>>4125590I mean we could use the poster again, it's still in our room. But I think a smaller party would be sufficient for investigating work especially now we can detect lies. HB, Burst, and Joe should be good.
>>4125549While I'll accept my fellow Anons' decision, I should point out that having Jorn join the company may erode all that goodwill we built on Scadam if we're not VERY careful about how we present it.
>>4125595QM: It's one outing per level up if you look at the poster. Seems rough, but as the last combat session showed it IS an insane advantage.
>>4125599we can deal with that later but with the documents, we have showing that andy was actively trying to disrupt Jorn and the old mayor to the point that drove him to suicide they may be more accepting of heror she can not show up at the town at all, I bet she would not mind that one bit since she probably doesn't want to go back there
>>4125595>It's one outing a day or one outing in general? One in total.>>4125596We already spent all our level up points, so we can't. We needed to stop hamstring our growth by spending our level up in temporary bonuses anyways.
>>4125605We could also try to play it off as community service. Put her work for us as making amends for her transgressions or something like that.
>>4125608if Jorn joins we would be able to mount 2 parties of 3maybe having HB lead the other one and mike as healer, even if not as effective as burstock.
>>4125605>>4125613Just not letting her go to Scadam would solve it, since both parties wouldn't mind not seeing each other.
>>4125595Joe/Richter/Burstock will work, but after Highball went on about how much she could do for us earlier today, I worry we may hurt her feelings by not taking her
>>4125617With a journalist out there who'd be delighted to drag our reputation through the mud? Risky. better to own it from the start and give it the spin we want.
Do we know Edgewater is such a bad guy? Perhaps she's the real mastermind and the Troll is just muscle and for taking the fall
>>4125772Judging from everything we've heard from the townsfolk and his goons, Edgewater's pretty bad, but that doesn't discount the possibility of Tallupo being the brains of the operation. I guess that's where the lie detector spell will come in handy. Also for what it's worth, I think we should avoid getting ahead of ourselves when it comes to recruiting her. I'm not sure how good an idea trying to employ people who up to this point are our outright enemy, especially in the interest of keeping an unstabbed back. Not saying we shouldn't try and put her on the right path, but we also shouldn't rush to hand her a contract.
>>4125772Nah, she was more of an opportunity hore for edgewater, she had lost everything and was on a terrible place when he arrived and he used that. She did kept everyone alive on scadam and only allowed edgewater to potebtially threaten andy's life but she was certanly veeery misguided.I definetly want to try and steer her for the rigjt path
>>4125825TIME FOR A NEW ROOM ON THE SHIP THEN
>>4125825>only allowed edgewater to potebtially threaten andy's lifeWe might want to check how on board she was about Stukka.
>>4125833Yup
The rest of the crew and you continue to discuss Jorn and Edgewater.Lumsden opines that in a troll / mage partnership - even if the mage is powerful and skilled - if they're by themselves then the troll can call the shots.Mike politely asks why she's so sure.Lumsden places her hands on her hips and looks down."You know how, even if something is wearing armour, magic attacks ignore it?"Mike nods"Well for reasons we still don't know. All magic based attacks do half damage to trolls."Burstock scratches her head."Ah...yeeeah..."You shrug. He's still barbecue if he fucks with you and yours.===========Regarding confronting Jorn in the town of Kretch. Various away teams are discussed. Because there is no water nearby, you'll have to use the rope ladder.Richter speaks up."If the reputation of Kretch is to be believed, we probably do not have to fear any violent encounters. It is a walled and gated town with armed guards on constant patrol. It's considered safer than many GTU controlled cities."Lumsden thinks"You can only currently manage a party of three, it's true - but don't worry. I can float the CF outside of Kretch, you can lower down whoever you want, then split up when we get to town. "Highball smiles, as she continues to make notes on the board."Hey, good point! Joey, Rick and Burstock can patrol for this JT chick, while me and Mike can spook around and find other clues"You glance at HighballShe winks back"Don't sweat it , Joe. I know we're good."Mike pats you on the shoulder"And don't let the 4 person party buff being temporary trouble you too much, as you level up and the bonds of your crew becomes stronger - larger parties will be possible more often"Lumsden leans over and smiles at you"It's true. Come see me about it later if you're confused, okay?"
>>4126368Cold Iron is an awesome nameSure thenBurstock, me and Richy are going to look for JornHB and Mike scout aroundNowNext topic on the meetingWhat are the crew suggestions and advices to courses of actions after this town? Anywhere they believe we could visit, clue we can persue or ambition they want to follow?
>>4126414The idea of your adventuring group being called Cold Iron gets some approving murmurs, which makes Highball purr happily. You raise the topic of the next course. There is a heavy consensus that we fly to Kretch and then Dunnlivin for restocking and upgrades. The destination on that, people agree depends on how much or how little we learn. If Jorn cooperates and can tell us where to find Edgewater, we could go there. But if she doesn't know or wont tell us, we'll have to pursue other leads.Explore forests, venture into mines - see if we can find that one Brewer. Eccard? Eccard Hilbosh. The travel, and what we learn will give us time to think.
