You are Arthur Bernhard: 20 year old fugitive, one time killer, wielder of the Power of Destruction and Dark Lord Candidate beholden to Chaos. With your ex-allies now pursuing you after successfully putting a stop to the scheme of one insane alchemist, you have been force to flee the country, hiding on board a cruise ship heading to Europe with your new alliesAlura, a powerful humanoid monster that you have managed to befriend, Anna Morgan, A botanist and one of the few surviving members of the mansion that was destroyed shortly after you took leave of the place at the hand of Shirley. Your final ally from the start of your new journey is Coller, a robotic assassin who seems to excel only at killing. You freed her from her bindings shortly before confronting the Director.Later, within a dream, you met with Chaos. A godlike entity that is apparently the source of your powers. Upon waking from the dream, you found yourself in possession of a card which you would use to accidentally summon the sylph, Mistral, with during a confrontation with a vampire, though not the vampire you were looking for. Holly Taylor, a girl you met just a few days ago had been turned into a creature of the night. She attempted to attack you, but was swiftly defeated thanks to her inexperience and Mistral's aid.Archive: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive.html?tags=WhatIsAQMCharacter Sheet: https://pastebin.com/zZKZAjgULast Thread: >>4048464
"I do have a few questions for you Mistral, that's true enough." The sylph returns to her lounging position on the arm of your chair, as she looks at you with a bored expression. The urge to grab the irritating fairy in order to teach her some manners strikes you, but you quickly suppress it. There's simply no telling how she'd react to being manhandled like that, as satisfying as it might be. "My first question then, is just... where did you come from? Before you were contracted to me, anyway."Mistral stretches before answering your question. "I'm a wind elemental, so I obviously came from the clouds, couldn't you infer that? Anyway, along with my fellow sylphs, it's one of my duties to overlook the weather to ensure it doesn't go too out of control and flatten the world in some gigantic storm. You'd best hope my disappearance isn't causing the others too much of a problem... Because it will be your fault if it does!""What, so you mean to say that for however so long you've been at it, your kind has just been completely undetected by humanity?" Well, not undetected, but certainly never confirmed... not publicly at least, though with the amount that's been kept hidden away by these supernatural organizations, who can really say?"Ha! As if we could ever be seen by humans with those viewing tools of theirs. Besides, even if one of us was somehow seen while in physical form, they'd be stupid enough to write it off as some trick of the light or a bird!" She's acting incredibly nonchalant about the potential of her species somehow being discovered, this sylph is rather irritatingly overconfident. "It's not like we are usually confined to our physical bodies anyway, this contract I've been forced into specifies that my form remain corporeal unless I have permission from you, or the situation is dangerous enough that I'd be a burden if I remained a target. So with your permission, I'd like you to allow me to let me shift my form." The sylph looks into your eyes as she makes her request, trying her best to look innocent and sweet, upon noticing your lack of a reaction to her best attempt to get some sort of sympathy from you, she redoubles her efforts. "Please?" She even tries to act polite! She's rather foolishly revealed that you do have some form of power over her, and from how she's acting, it's obvious that she prefers her other form "Very well, I will allow you to demonstrate this form of yours." Mistral smiles happily at being given permission. "But only as a demonstration! Don't even think of remaining in it longer than it is necessary." Her smile falters immediately, becoming quite strained as she stares at you.
But then she simply disappears, becoming entirely invisible before your very eyes. Which take a moment to adjust to the sudden shock of literally seeing something disappear in a single instant. A breeze of wind blows around your head for a moment, before Mistral once again appears, now sitting on your shoulder, she's even lighter than her appearance suggests, you can barely even feel her sitting on you. "What do you think? I'm impressive, right?" She preens herself on her own ability to apparently become one with the wind. While it is indeed quite impressive, this familiar you've ended up with has an overinflated sense of self-importance as it is, so you're quite hesitant to praise her ability."Well, it is relatively impressive, I suppose. But if you're going to be my familiar, I want to know just what else you can do other than turn invisible." You hear her huff at your apparent lack of awe at her transformation, seems she was expecting a little more of a reaction to turning invisible and reappearing somewhere else. But you aren't going to give her any sort of positive reinforcement until she actually does something to deserve it. "But I would like to know what else that you can do, other than just transform into the wind."She isn't very quick to respond, still put-out by the quiet reception she got from her demonstration, as well as her inability to stay in that form. "Hmmph, of course you'd want to know. Well, as the name 'wind elemental' would suggest, I have an unparalleled mastery over the air!" Out of the corner of your eye, you can see that she's stopped sitting on your shoulder, instead proudly posing for whatever reason. She's really starting to get on your nerves now "Yes, and what does that mean, exactly? I'd like to know what you can actually do instead of being given vague statements like that. Of course, that is unless you're merely bluffing.""I-i am not bluffing! Fine! Watch this!" The fairy-like girl flies off of your shoulder and briefly glows, her green-blond hair blowing in a non-existent gust, before she thrusts both of her arms forwards! ...and immediately flies backwards at incredible speed, slamming into your chest and forcing you to catch her in your hands rather than allow her to hit the floor. While the dazed sylph recovers from the unexpected impact, you survey the room to see just what she did to cause her to blow herself away like that.
Quickly, you realize just what happened, the sofa opposite you that Holly is sitting on has sunken inwards. Two halves perfectly divided along the center by a perfect vertical cut. Holly for her part is frozen in place, sitting at a slant. Had it been a few inches off target, this burst of cutting wind from Mistral would've likely bisected the unfortunate vampire girl. The cut from the blade of wind extends further than though, a nearly imperceptibly thin line has been cut through one of the walls, likely extending through the room beyond and out of the ship. "Holly. Are you OK?" She certainly doesn't seem injured, but her frightened expression is enough that you should at least do her the courtesy of askingYou only receive a half frozen nod from the girl before your attention is drawn to the sprite laying in your cupped hands. She seems to have actually knocked herself out during her attempt at showing off. She's sleeping peacefully in your hands, what a carefree creature. You decide it would be best to gently shake her awake in order to get her to continue her explanation. Mistral yawns as she wakes, and tiredly gets while up stretching her limbs, it's not long till she notices her current situation, falling on her backside and landing in a heap. "Oh. So it wasn't a dream after all. Drat." Well, I hope that demonstration of my abilities was enough, even if I misjudged the amount of magic I have access to right now." She yawns again, before collapsing in one of your hands. "It's not like that's... all though. Try hitting something, and you'll see what I mean" You see no reason not to. Setting the tiny girl back down on the arm of a chair, where she simply lays lazily, not even bothering to readjust herself, you punch the wall, the same sensation from when you kicked Holly occurs, you strike the wall with far more strength than you thought you had, punching directly through the timber. This time though you can feel the gust of wind blowing back into your face. "With that blessing, your attacks are amplified with the power of the wind. There are of course more blessings I could grant you, but as I said before, you need to prove yourself worthy of them first! Those are the rules I must follow, if the others found out I started blessing humans without good cause, they might even see fit to erase my personality and turn me into nothing but the element I represent!" Despite her prone position, you can see her shiver slightly on the armrest.
As arrogant as she's been, you do suppose you ought to offer the sylph something in return for her assistance. You wouldn't really appreciate suddenly being spirited away and being forced to work for somebody who in some terms might class as your kidnapper either, and it's not like she isn't useful. As annoyingly prideful as she is about her abilities, you can't really fault them. Other than managing to knock herself out with her own magic, but that seemed to be more due to unfamiliarity than anything else. With that in mind, you decide you may as well show some kindness to the girl you've been magically bound to. "So, Mistral, is there anything that I can do for you? Aside from ending the contract, that is."At your offer, the fairy is suddenly re-energized, but she doesn't get much further than going from laying flat on the cushioned surface to managing to get herself in a half-seated position. "R-really? This might be a bit of an odd request, but do you have any food?" The mention of food makes you realize that you haven't actually eaten for... well, days technically. Thankfully, the mention of food doesn't seem to have motivated Holly to start trying to eat you again."Ah. Not on me right now, but I suppose we can go get some breakfast after we finish up here." The request is one you are glad to be able to fulfill. You hope this sylph won't be too much of a pain in the neck to get along with. Well, not any more than Holly is right now... You're glad you didn't say that out loud. But it is strange, you would've thought Alura would've at least come in to check the situation by now...>It doesn't matter right now, you have a few questions for Holly first. (What?)>Look into the hallway carefully, something might have happened>Gather both Mistral and Holly before heading into the hallway as a group.>Write-in...
>>4086456>Look into the hallway carefully, something might have happenedWhat IS she doing out there?
>>4086456>Gather both Mistral and Holly before heading into the hallway as a group.
>>4086456>Look into the hallway carefully, something might have happenedmethinks something that can distract Alura is something that warrants caution.
>>4086456Also, tell Mistral to turn into wind whenever we are around normies .
>>4086516Why not just have her be invisible at all times? I'm sure it'd be more comfortable for her.
>>4086518He wants to continue to bully the thing, obviously.>>4086456>>Look into the hallway carefully, something might have happenedYo plant lady what good wit it?
>>4086522I think it's more pleasing for her if she gets to keep her windy form, and more strategic to have an invisible ally.
>>4086518That would be optimal, but I would prefer keeping an eye on her in case she gets any funny ideas.>>4086522Yeah sure, let's go with that too.
>>4086526>Yeah sure, let's go with that too. This is why we need a belt.
>>4086527The fucking belt has become the new rope. Next it's gonna be wire or thread or some dumb shit like that.
>>4086530we CAN make pod into a thread/threads now...
>>4086532Oh, Chaos damn it.
>>4086532>the belt of destruction
guys, if we leave, make sure to deposit holly at anna's. we can't have her changing sides if hilde is encountered.
>>4086456>Look into the hallway carefully, something might have happenedI suppose it's time we see what awful fate Alura has met with in our absence.
>>4086532>>4086554You know, with enough experience with making constructs from the Power of Destruction, you could pull off something not unlike an even more lethal version of this.Though at that point, you've basically won every fight with... one or two exceptions. >>4086518You could reward her with that privilege if you wish, but you have no actual means of waking her up should she decide to enter wind form and just sleep to spite you.Just as a warning. Also, you don't want to bully the wind fairy?
>>4086456>Look into the hallway carefully, something might have happenedI want to ask Holly if Hilde probably set up trigger words but eh.As long as we don't say the F word around her it should be fine.
>>4086456>Look into the hallway carefully, something might have happenedWhat an idiot fairy.I wonder what other blessings we can get from her.Being able to attack without the PoD is neat at least. We can deal non-lethal damage now!>>4086860>room full of wires that cut through everything What a boring way to fight.>bullying the wind fairyI want to headpat her, but she is too small.
>>4086913I support the headpat
>>4086860She was actually in the position of a minor god up until literally moments ago, and wind is supposed to be naturally capricious, but if her role was to stop wind from getting out of control and consuming everything then she shouldn't be a mook-tier minor god. Being upset about these circumstances is perfectly reasonable, and if we're going to be an actually good Dark Lord then we'll need some experience getting beings to respect us on our own merits and not just because we borrowed power from our patron.
>>4086974What are you trying to say about fairies, huh?
>>4086996Why must fairies be bullied.>>4086967Fair enough, she is quite important in the grand scheme of things. It's not like she's the only sylph overseeing the weather though, because if she was then you could expect the entire planet to be destroyed in a massive hurricane that would last for years.
>>4087005That makes me wonder how her co-workers are reacting to her disappearance.
>>4087024heh, if fairies are as molecule-brained as the other anons say, then wouldn't they just forget about her like immediately?
>>4087027Sure, that seems accurate
>>4087024I'm sure she had at least some friends.
>>4087027I mean they are literally air-headed.
>>4087162You are just awful.Anyone got any good ideas for getting the fairy to like us more?I think we should get her a Dollhouse to live in.Maybe she can get some more clothing from the dolls too!
>>4087162Anon pls>>4087198She'd probably enjoy places like mountaintops, meadows, fields, etc. Places where wind flows freely; I think she won't like cities and the like since they disrupt airflow. So if we want to relax we should take her to the top deck. But she does want us to prove ourselves to her, and I don't have many ideas on how to do that other than to subjugate beings that are perceived or actually to be more powerful than we are.
>>4087198>Anyone got any good ideas for getting the fairy to like us more?Get her a pinwheel. A tiny, martini-glass-sized pinwheel.
>>4087214So what you're saying is we should imitate the famous scene from Titanic with her?But I guess she'd have to like, stand on our hand?>>4087226Could be worth a shot.
>>4087198We don't need to get her to like us, the important thing is 'proving ourselves'. That's plainly the familiar level system from SotN put into quest form; just win plenty of battles, and we'll gradually grow in her esteem.
>>4087271We should still get her a goofy ass little pinwheel.
>>4087005>Why must fairies be bullied.Such is the inevitable fate of all non-rabbit spirits.
>>4087271>>4087274And a Dollhouse.Preferably one based on a French Mansion.Get her some tiny gowns.
>>4087280I don't think those are things.
>>4087281We aren't carrying a fucking dollhouse around from place to place. Shit we don't even have a suitcase.
>>4087271I do think we should try to have a good relationship with her though, as do I think that we should have a good relationship with all our allies.
>>4087381Well I think that depends on who the ally is. A completely self-serving ally who likes you is still ultimately self-serving. Dmitri will always be a total douchebag for instance, even if you play nice with him.
>>4087751Hmmm, would we even be making allies like that in the first place? The type of people we've been surrounding ourselves with seem to be the type listen to reason in most circumstances (squinting at you Shirley). In this instance tho Mistral is going to be hanging around us quite a bit and progression should go smoother if there's a functioning relationship between us and her. Not to mention that the nature of the foundation of our relationship is a bit more intimate than others just following us around, since we have a binding contract.
>>4087825Sometimes you don't have a choice in who your allies are. I'm sure eventually we'll have to treat with some megadick. Not many choices when you're the inheritor of evil being chased by an organized horde of zealots. Though we should be playing nice with the stiffest of breezes if for no other reason than until we get more familiars she's going to be watching us sleep and we don't want her blowing fart gas in from the other rooms just to spite us.
>>4087870sign, true nuf', suppose we'll cross that bridge when we get to it
It's been too long for her to simply have remained waiting outside the door without growing at least a little concerned for what might be going on inside, so there's really nothing for it but "You two, stay here for a second. I'm going to check the hall, Alura should only be just be outside, and it's been long enough that her not at least checking the room has become a little concerning." What could be holding her up? Hopefully she hasn't encountered the other vampire alone. She didn't seem all too confident in her ability to fight the vampire when you told her of it's presence. For as weak and easy to deal with that Holly was, you hold no illusions that a recently turned vampire is in any way comparable to what toyed with you in that cabin. The speed and power that woman had surpassed your own by an order of magnitude! Whereas Holly, despite being clearly both faster and stronger than you, didn't outclass you to such an extent that you could hardly even react to her attacks."R-right." Holly gives a weak nod towards you, you'll have to decide on what to do with this poor girl at some point. You aren't stupid enough to kill her simply for becoming a vampire. It would be antithetical to being the Dark Lord anyway, to kill her simply for being a vampire. Of course, you might have to punish her if she continues being unable to restrain herself around you though. You have no intention of allowing yourself to become any bloodsucker's drink, and that includes the shrinking violet sitting on the wonky sofa opposite you."Oh of course, feel free to do whatever it is you actually do, Summoner. Don't let my presence stop you" With the assent of your allies, you get up from your chair and walk towards the door. Opening it and peering out into the cabin, you see no sign of Alura. Instead there seems to be a strange frost that has formed on the carpeted hall, almost as if it has been frozen entirely! You take a step out into the corridor, the floor crunches underneath your feet, it seems it truly has been frozen! There's no doubt about it, something attacked Alura while you were busy dealing with Holly... but who or what could it have been? That vampire never seemed to use any sort of magic or ability during her game with you that would leave you to believe it had control over ice. Is there a third party involved in this mess? Or does the vampire have more allies... or abilities that you are as of yet unaware of? Suddenly a high pitched shriek from the cabin you just left snaps you out of your musing! You waste no time charging back into the room, looking for what could've occurred merely moments after your departure to cause such a scream of fear!
As you step into the room, you see the reason is abundantly clear. Holly, for whatever reason, has seized Mistral in both hands and is looking at her curiously. It's not the predatory look of hunger she took when she tried to quench her thirst with your blood. More the look of a child inspecting a curious toy that they are interested in. The sylph struggling in her hands fruitlessly however doesn't seem to agree. "A-ah! Summoner! Good! Could you please help? I think your pet vampire is trying to eat me!" It would probably be the best if you did. While she's only examining her in close detail right now, you've seen Holly suddenly switch behavior before, and there is nothing you could do to save Mistral from a gruesome fate if her vampire blood took over her sensibilities now."Holly!" Your stern voice snaps the vampire out of her contemplation, her grip on the poor wind spirit loosening enough for her to squirm out of the pale girl's hands and launch herself towards you. Clinging onto one of your lapels in fear, hiding behind it as she stares at the clueless looking vampire with a hateful look on her face. It seems that despite her bluster, this sylph isn't quite as powerful and brave as she makes herself out to be. "Please be more considerate of your allies in the future. OK?""I... OK Arthur, I'm sorry. It's just... It's difficult to resist even a simple impulse for me right now. Even a passing thought is difficult for me not to act on." It looks as if Holly's new body is one that is avid to fulfill any desire that might take her fancy, even ones that she might not intend to act upon. So is that what it is? A conflict between body and mind? From how she looked at you earlier, it seems to be a little more in-depth than something like that. You suppose it doesn't matter too much as long as you can get her under control. It seems that fear is a decent enough deterrent for her to not act against you any further. You'll have to decide how you'll deal with your newly vampiric friend's inability to control herself later on though, for now you need to go after Alura and aid her in this fight she's apparently having against this ice wielding opponent!>Tell Holly to stay in the cabin, you can't risk having her come with you in case your opponent is the vampire who turned her>Have Holly return to your Cabin on the upper decks and await your arrival after you've helped Alura>Have Holly come with you, her assistance is of dubious use considering her lack of control or training, but she might find some way to be helpful.>Write-in...
>>4088593>Have Holly come with you, her assistance is of dubious use considering her lack of control or training, but she might find some way to be helpful.Let's take a risk.
>>4088593>Have Holly come with you, her assistance is of dubious use considering her lack of control or training, but she might find some way to be helpful.Honestly I just don't want to let her out of our sight. Seems dangerous. Cool that our ojou vampire has Dio's ice power, though.
>>4088612Iirc, Loretta had ice powers as a vampire.Way better than Dio Brando's vaporizing freeze too.Or it could be somebody else entirely.I'm hoping it's someone else so we can keep Holly.
>>4088612Or it could be some guy with a blue book. Or your run of the mill witch. Or a transvestite. A lot of things have ice attacks.
I hope Holly trying to eat our allies doesn't become a running theme.Otherwise we might have to take drastic measures against her doing so.Coller is actually a pretty effective anti-vampire tool now that I think about it.
>>4088639>a transvestite Trap ice spirit when. A frozen half ought to solve the husbando - waifu ratio.
>>4088593>Have Holly come with you, her assistance is of dubious use considering her lack of control or training, but she might find some way to be helpful. She needs a metaphorical leash badly right now. It's a risk we'll have to take.
>>4088643Honestly it's the fact her new nature seems to make her really impulsive, we might not just be dealing with her trying to eat allies.Actually, that explains a lot of things about Dracula and probably Chaos's relationship with Vampires in general.
>>4088750Good point.Still, I hope she's not too hard to control.Babysitting a vampire sounds like a chore. Also, this is two blood drinkers we need to feed now.Fucking Unes are too autistic to photosynthesize like other plants.
>>4088593>>Have Holly come with you, her assistance is of dubious use considering her lack of control or training, but she might find some way to be helpful.
>>4088639It is fairly common as far as elemental attacks go.Belnades witches have ice, as does Juste through his Belnades heritage, Charlotte can use ice, Shanoa has ice glyphs, Alucard and Soma can both get ice swords...Really, most non Belmont protagonists can use it, as well as a lot of enemies with magic.>>4088750Yes, you'll have to figure out how to deal with a girl with superhuman speed, strength and magical abilities she's still in the process of discovering with about as much impulse control as an infant.Good luck.>>4088840>two blood drinkers we need to feed now.Alura has been doing a perfectly good job feeding herself.>too autistic to photosynthesize like other plants. Now that's just rude.
i think we could take on hilde if we play our cards right.wind shield + scouting is a hard counter.we also have access to something incredibly broken, actually: since we can see through mistral's eyes, and she can go invisible, she's able to locate an opponent remotely for us. if we use the piercing PoD shot like we did once, we could snipe them no matter the circumstances, through anything. Just gotta make sure that the target is near a wall so they don't have time to dodge after seeing the shot.
>>4088914Can we actually do any of that though?
Character sheet updated.
>>4089012Wind shield - probably.Everything else - yes. We've done all of it before. Putting it together is the overpowered part.
>>4089029>Blessing of the Sacred Wind SwordSo you're saying we have the best weapon in our skill tree.
>>4089089I don't know how many times I'm going to have to say this:We already have the best weapons, one on the end of each arm! All we need to do is get better at using them!
>>4089098I don't know man, the Valmanway is pretty sweet.A sword that is so fast that the user can swing it like 7 times without even visibly moving!
>>4089113Anyway that's pretty obviously Valmanway. So what are the others?Sylph's Protection is obviously a defensive skill. Cloud and Hurricane I got nothing.
>>4088593>Have Holly come with you, her assistance is of dubious use considering her lack of control or training, but she might find some way to be helpful.Yeah this is the only way to keep an eye on her so she doesn't impulsively go somewhere else.>>4089155Protectction is probably a wind shield that covers our body.Cloud is probably a speed buff.Hurricane is probably a magical attack.>>4089098>>4089108Hmph! Humans main advantage over other species is the ability to use tools and intelligence and you want to waive both privileges away just to become a jojo? For shame.Dark Lords need more style than that.
>>4089173>more style than hand-to-hand combatClearly you've never seen Fist of the North Star.
>>4089173we are NOT a jojo. we just make our own tools. i suggested a full, unique strategy of using our powers earier, for crying out loud.
>>4089208Your strategy was literally just to use the ability we passed out from trying to try to snipe her through a wall. There's so much that could go wrong with this. We don't even know the limits of her regen or if going for the heart will work. The Belmonts need some crazy holy whip that eats souls to do the job.
>>4089222They need the whip for Dracula, though. This is just a vampire.
>>4089227The whip was made to deal with a particularly powerful (not Dracula) vampire called Walter Bernhard. He wasn't the Dark Lord.He was just really really strong. We shouldn't get complacent here as we don't actually know how strong Hilde is.
>>4089203By the point we could pull off those kind of moves we'd be beyond everything else in the world, which makes the point moot.>>4089222Our PoD is a spell cast from hp. When we fainted, that was the first time using it, AND we were sealed from using it properly. Learning to use it now should be learning how to properly use it.
I'm just gonna say it, the power of destruction is just the Alucard Shield + Shield Rod combo without the life steal.
The BIG question is if those blessings are passive or if we only get one at once.
It's really such a shame that It'll be too difficult to really add Charlotte into the story considering the incredible timescale of the series.I feel like I've said this before, actually.Well there is one way, but... I don't know if I should use it.No, it's not time travel and it's not grimoires either.>>4089234>By the point we could pull off those kind of moves we'd be beyond everything else in the world, which makes the point moot.I wouldn't be so sure about that. The Kaiser Knuckles don't automatically make you win the game, after all.I mean, the Valmanway/Crissagram does, but shhhh.>>4089173>Hmph! Humans main advantage over other species is the ability to use tools and intelligence and you want to waive both privileges away just to become a jojo? For shame. So what advantage does that give them over vampires then? Or any other magically empowered intelligent humanoid in the Dark Lord's employ?Fairly certain Lerajie is better with a gun than any human sniper is.I also just realized that this means Jonathan and Charlotte can mentally calculate the path of a bullet that will richochet multiple times as soon as the shooter begins aiming.
>>4090132>I also just realized that this means Jonathan and Charlotte can mentally calculate the path of a bullet that will richochet multiple times as soon as the shooter begins aiming.Or if you want to retcon it to make a little more sense, Charlotte has a spell that does that.
>>4090132>No, it's not time travel and it's not grimoires either.Make her follow Wind's footsteps and become one with the Force?>I mean, the Valmanway/Crissagram does, but shhhh.Mostly the Crissagram really, I'd argue the Claihm Solais outclasses the Valmanway in both games, at least for boss battles.
>>4090147In the Japanese version of SotN, "Crissaegrim" was named Valmanway. It's the same weapon, just localized for the PSX by weirdoes.
>>4090132Pure blunt damage that can result in backlash isn't the most economical use of your body in the service of destroying your enemies, discounting the use of magical augmentation. But if you have access to augmentation then why not use it on a sword, or lance, or gun? The more distance between you and an enemy the more time you have to react to changes in the situation and avoid counter-attacks. Typically purely punching something to death relies on the enemy being so outclassed by you that they can't defend their vitals in time, or for them to not be wearing armor, or to take them by surprise, all of which are accomplished more elegantly by using heretofore mentioned weapons. And especially for us where we can make the Power of Destruction take the shape of our mind and become said weapons while also being a mental extension of ourselves, getting up-close and personal should be used for distractions or non-lethal take-downs unless we're desperate. We also have the issue where our "Armor" ability also makes us a berserker, and losing yourself in a fight is a good way to fail at accomplishing whatever your objective is, barring said objective being the fight itself or intending to lose. Unless my analysis about this is wrong in which case fml i was wrong about combat this whole time.>So what advantage does that give them over vampires then? Or any other magically empowered intelligent humanoid in the Dark Lord's employ?Literally none. Humans are near the bottom of the ecosystem in Castlevania right? But that doesn't exempt the forces of god and chaos from the above, most melee bosses in Castlevania are ez sauce for that reason.
>>4090198While this all makes good sense, it's also incredibly boring, and I've always had the impression that Castlevania is something of a style over substance setting. In short: Lame.
>>4090198Also, it's been clearly established that the more volume and distance outside of our body we project the Power of Destruction, the greater the backlash to us is.It follows logically that the most efficient way to use it is to create an extremely thin layer of it over our hands, as this minimizes both volume and distance while facilitating heavy damage to the enemy. So there, it's not as though I have a purely stylistic reason for wanting to fight bare-handed.
>>4090143It makes sense for it to be a spell in Charlotte's case, because she's a spellcaster, and it makes no sense for her to have that sort of spacial awareness. However, Jonathan has spent his entire life training his physical skills, has Belmont blood in him, and is probably capable of predicting the richochet by himself without relying on magical assistance. He was also trained specifically not to rely on the Vampire Killer by his father, so his other fighting skills are actually more well rounded than your typical Belmont, giving him the most sub-weapons of any whip-wielder.Of course, he also would've been the one responsible for training Julius, and he probably taught him everything he knew.Better watch out for Paper Airplanes.>>4090147>Mostly the Crissaegrim really,For whatever reason, the localization team for SotN were able to insert copious amounts of Tolkien references into the translation.I can confirm that Alucard isn't wandering around with Glamdring in his pocket(?), because that is Gandalf's sword.>>4090198>Humans are near the bottom of the ecosystem in Castlevania right?Unless you have magic or were born with superhuman physical potential or in the case of some people, both (Juste), yeah, you won't be getting too far.>But if you have access to augmentation then why not use it on a sword, or lance, or gun?Style? For the record, Dracula never really uses weaponry either. Preferring fireball spam, his summons, his magic, and in the very rare case he decides to get physical, punches and kicks. Oh, and the soul steal. Then he'll normally turn into a huge monster. For whatever reason, Dracula just can't be bothered to pick up any of the mythical weapons he's just got lying around his castle to use.He at least knows how to use a sword from when he was a human.Of course, you can use whatever fighting style you wish. From the most flamboyant show off styles to the most practical boring styles. You don't have to be Soma and bring a Rocket Launcher wherever you go.Also, I can't ensure there will be an update tonight, because my power has already gone out a few times today already.
>>4090204When you bring sense into settings like these you tend to have a fun time doing what people outside the settings would deem obvious, but this is a personal dispositional thing so we can just agree to disagree.>>4090215>Also, it's been clearly established that the more volume and distance outside of our body we project the Power of Destruction, the greater the backlash to us is.This has never been confirmed, when we destroyed the weeds in the mansion we were point-blank, and we ended up with dracula giving us information about corpseweeds and were so tired we collapsed. But when we made a fog out of PoD then deleted the space between us and the golem we were fine constitutionally, but got a vision of the Arm of Ruin.>It follows logically that the most efficient way to use it is to create an extremely thin layer of it over our handsYou say that's the most economical but what about making bullets and shooting them at vital points? Or making a weapon and launching that? You have to keep in mind that this spell most likely has an initial cost and either a cost based on time deployed or a continual drain on health and sanity; When we used it on our arm too much we gained the arm of ruin which leads back to the problem with becoming a berserker if the PoD is used in such a way. I'm not sure how much effect the seals had on this but I'm under the impression that quick use rather than extended use is the way to go here.>>4090245>For whatever reason, Dracula just can't be bothered to pick up any of the mythical weapons he's just got lying around his castle to use.Haven't we established that drac was just building up power with his resurrections and couldn't be arsed to take anything seriously?
>>4090275>Haven't we established that drac was just building up power with his resurrections and couldn't be arsed to take anything seriously?Oh we have, but I still can't imagine dying feels great, even if you are guaranteed to come back within the century.Against people with the Vampire Killer or against Alucard he tends to try at least a little. With Shanoa though he basically just laughed at her best efforts. There's also a tangible difference between trying in a fight and just throwing the Lance of Longinus he's got stashed away at somebody for a laugh. The Battle of 1999 must've really been something to see.
>>4090275>When you bring sense into settings like these you tend to have a fun time doing what people outside the settings would deem obvious, but this is a personal dispositional thing so we can just agree to disagree. This is what I would call "ruining interesting fiction with the boring aspects of reality," but as you say, agree to disagree.>Is it really economical? What about bullets or thrown weapons? So, the two times we've passed out from PoD overuse were when we created some kind of channel between our inner power and something else in order to infuse it directly with the PoD and when we tried to create a projectile. Now, it seems pretty clear to me that what we did with the corpseweeds was a quite different sort of PoD use from our standard 'form it into various shapes' method, so I think we can ignore that in our considerations of what sort of shapes work best for that method. That only leaves us with the projectile as our most costly attack. This is why I stress distance. Bullets and thrown weapons are both projectiles which have to remain in existence and separated from our body for some time. The fog remained connected to our body the entire time (another thing which reads to me as affecting cost) and only existed for an instant.>I'm under the impression that quick use rather than extended useI'm fine with that myself. To clarify my suggestion, I think we should fight as if normally using hand-to-hand techniques, strength, and wind empowerment, but at the moment when we need to make a killing blow wrap our hand (or hands) in a superthin layer of PoD similar to the 'wire' we used to cut that chain. Thus we can not only economize our PoD expenditure while retaining access to a method of punching right through the enemy or ripping out their heart, we can also vary the damage of our attacks from strike to strike, keeping them on their toes and adding the psychological element that's all-important in most forms of combat.
>>4090324>passed out from PoD overuseI don't know why I said this, we just suffered heavy backlash. Still, the rest of my point stands.
>>4090132>It's really such a shame that It'll be too difficult to really add Charlotte into the story considering the incredible timescale of the series.I think including the extra time since the battle of 1999 she'd be in her late nineties or something. Considering she'd be using magic and not really backflipping around bicycle kicking people she could probably just Hag the shit out of everyone with her stupendous magical power in a wheelchair.
You put a hand to your head and sigh. Dealing with Holly and these impulses of hers is going to become a chore, you can already tell. For now, there's only one way of ensuring she won't get distracted and wander of somewhere. "OK, Holly, I'm going to have you come with us for now. It's unfortunate, but you can't be trusted not to wander off if I simply give you instructions. Especially with you unable to control your impulses as you are. It's really a miracle that with these bloody messes that she's undoubtedly been leaving all around the ship that nobody has found the gruesome results of her feeding habits. Or perhaps they have, but simply came at the worst time, doing nothing but adding to the drained and torn apart pule of corpses as Holly considered them just another course in her depraved feast. It really can't be natural that you can think about this without feeling disgusted to your core. You briefly wonder just what the procedure for dealing with mass murderers is on board a cruise ship in international waters. Is there an armory? Do they have a security detail? It gets your mind off of thinking about Holly and her new taste for human blood, and judging from the state of the corpses, had apparently partaken in their flesh as well. Apparently, despite having a reputation for drinking blood, vampires aren't actually so limited in their palette. Though whether this consumption was through a need, a craving or simple curiosity driven by her uncontrollable impulses, you aren't sure. You don't really want to ask about her feeding habits either, in case the mere mention of it starts making you look like an appealing drink again. Is becoming the Dark Lord really going to be such a bothersome task? Having to deal with allies of dubious value and loyalty who may just lose control at any minute? Perhaps in time Holly will learn to deal with these impulses of hers. Vampires could hardly get their fabled reputation as refined aristocrats if all of the real ones simply killed indiscriminately, that much is certain. Especially not with organizations like Shirley's one about. You can't imagine that any vampire that doesn't cover their tracks lasts a very long time with such factions seeking them out and destroying them wherever they were. You aren't sure just how powerful Dracula was as the Dark Lord, nor how powerful the ones who were responsible for slaying him were, but it stands to reason that said hunters wouldn't be content to just sit around even after the destruction of this lord of evil.
It's quite obvious that despite the end of the Dark Lord, evil has not ceased, nor have the machinations of the one who he served. Perhaps things were truly far worse in the years before your birth, but you have no information on it anyway, so it's not worth worrying about too much. Mistral has decided to remain within the interior of your suit, poking her head out as she continues to eye Holly suspiciously. You do admit that allowing Holly to walk behind you would be an immensely foolish gesture, but at the same time, you can't exactly have her lead the way either. The only choice left for you then is to walk side-by-side with the girl, this way you can lead the way to wherever Alura has gone and keep an eye on the unstable girl at the same time. It's not the most ideal of solutions, and you would prefer simply being able to trust Holly enough that you don't get the creeping suspicion she's only one fortunate looking opportunity away from trying to drain your circulatory system dry. Holly doesn't at all seem to mind in your complete lack of trust in her though, taking the opportunity of walking next to you through the twisting halls of the cruise ship as you look for signs of battle to follow in order to seize one of your hands in her own with significant force, not enough to be painful, but it's fairly uncomfortable. Upon noticing you aren't attempting to pull your hand away from her sudden vice-like grip, she relaxes it into a less forceful one. She gives you a weak smile as you glance at her out of the corner of your eye, she looks somewhat contented at this development. You suppose if it brings the girl some sort of comfort while she attempts to get to grips with her new existence then you don't mind holding her hand. After some time, the signs of battle grow more fierce and obvious. Walls are torn through with frozen vines that have been shattered on the floor. You decide to hurry things up, Alura is obviously in some sort of danger! Your concern keeps growing and growing as you follow the intensifying signs of battle, coming to a peak when you see in the center of an almost entirely white with frost segment of corridor is a delicate looking arm, frozen solid and snapped away from the shoulder it was once connected to. Not only is Alura in danger, she's also hurt, badly. You continue following the path of destruction, obviously, her wound didn't slow her down one bit as the frozen plant growth in the corridors has only increased! You see a variety of plants that you recognize, including the more basic type of Une as well as a few of those Man-Eating Plants! However, the real showpiece would be the gigantic Venus Fly Trap that has been frozen moments before being able to finish snapping shut! There's a piece of torn white cloth snagged on one of the strange locking teeth of the plant. Likely that of the enemy Alura is now evidently trying to eradicate with extreme force.
Holly easily tears a path through the frozen foliage with her free hand as you keep on down the path. Hopefully Alura isn't in too much pain right now, you can't imagine how horrible that must be. Finally, your path comes to an end, right outside an entrance to a canteen, where you can hear the voices of two people talking with each other just beyond. One is obviously Alura's, taking a superior tone over her enemy. "You fought quite well, magician. I must say, I was almost challenged! It's a shame about my arm, but it's of no concern now. I'll just use your blood to help grow a new one, what do you say?"There's a sound you can only describe as spitting, before the voice of a man responds with a light Russian accent. "I wouldn't be so certain you've won just yet, you plant bitch." The man is confident still, despite Alura effectively declaring her own victory. "This man you called Arthur, this so-called 'Dark Lord', he isn't my target here. But you have caused enough disruption to my mission now that it warrants dealing with." There's a heavy sigh from the other side of the door. "This is going to be an awful blemish on my record, I've never once failed in an assassination, did you know that? But somebody tore my target's contact into pieces after draining them dry! They didn't even bother to properly hide the body! They just threw the pieces under the bed!" The man has begun to start ranting at Alura. Holly slumps in shame for some reason. His voice is about as distant as Alura's is, the two of them must be standing an equal distance from the door.Alura in turn simply scoffs. "As if I care for your affairs, magician. I'll remember the taste of your blood for far longer than your last words anyway." It sounds like things are about to come to a violent peak. You'll have to act now if you want to interfere! >Barge into the room and charge towards the man, hopefully your assistance will allow Alura to finish the fight.>Tell Holly to attack the man, her superior speed should allow her to close the distance far faster than you can.>Calmly open the door and attempt to negotiate a peaceful solution between Alura and her enemy. The man says he isn't here for you, after all.>Simply wait it out and allow the fight to progress as it naturally would.>Write-in...
>>4090478If I ever end up actually going through with it, you'll see what I intend to do with her.Ruining her by making her 90 years old would be a crime.
>>4090510>>Calmly open the door and attempt to negotiate a peaceful solution between Alura and her enemy. The man says he isn't here for you, after all.Knock knock niqquah how painful do you want to make your death when you inevitably decide to try a cheapshot?>>4090516>implying a spunky, quippy centennial charlotte wouldn't be great
>>4090503Oh, Holly. She really does need to improve her eating habits. A refined man-eating heroine would kill her victims carefully, butcher them, and eat their flesh elegantly from a plate, thinly sliced with blood sauce.>Barge into the room and charge towards the man, hopefully your assistance will allow Alura to finish the fightIf he's got an ace up his sleeve, we don't want to try and negotiate.
>>4090510>>Calmly open the door and attempt to negotiate a peaceful solution between Alura and her enemy. The man says he isn't here for you, after all.Or rather, get some info out of him and then see what we do.
>>4090324>That only leaves us with the projectile as our most costly attack.I just re-read the encounter with the golem >>3967205 and as far as I can tell that's straight up wrong. Arthur was running towards the golem, then he stopped, then he commanded the PoD to spread out in front of him, he then coated his arm with it; It was physically disconnected from him, as he suffered pain and the PoD was putting up resistance to returning. All of this shows that he has no problem controlling the power once it's separated from him, considering this wasn't the encounter that unlocked the Arm of Ruin. And the time we fainted when making that projectile was literally the first time we had used the Power of Destruction, and as I said we were sealed, so the unfamiliarity and tax of using it overwhelmed us, or so what it seemed to be to me.>>4090510>Barge into the room and charge towards the man, hopefully your assistance will allow Alura to finish the fight.Only voting for this option since I don't think letting Holly attack would win, but I would go for that otherwise, Arthur and her should really get used to this kind of fight. Why should we overtly care about a random magician assassin? He decided to go start a fight with our friend for no reason and now he's about to pull his trump card to try and kill her. Seems best to get him out of the way asap. If we want info we could loot his corpse, maybe he has a calling card or something to that effect.
>>4090548But how could we do that? Just kill a possible plothook set by dear QM? I would never, ever.
>>4090548>Why should we overtly care about a random magician assassin?Because I want Arthur to try to be a decent person and get bitten for it so he is ushered down the path of hatred and ruthlessness so that way down the line he can have a massively dramatic dialogue about suffering and faith before he ultimately killed by some asshole spamming unlimited throwing knives.I thought that was pretty clear.
>>4090548Even so, I still think trying to use the cast from HP power as economically as possible is for the best, and I don't see any way you can argue that making weapons out of it would be less costly than making smaller, more efficient shapes out of it for less time.If we're going to do anything that costs more than the minimum possible expenditure, it should be more experimentation with the technique that fills out our bestiary.
>>4090556How would it even be dodging the plot hook, the assassin had a client, and probably has friends, all who'd be curious who'd killed him and why. He should simply die on the principal of being a loose cannon. Don't think we'd want guys who go after collateral damage as close allies in the future, or even to use as a tertiary henchman, and this one has personally offended us. I feel that letting him go would be failing to embrace Arthur's ideal of seizing his own destiny if we're too afraid of the blowback from erasing this guy.>>4090572>not wanting to get betrayed by your inner circle causing you to have permanent trust issues that spiral down into paranoia so hard you isolate yourself and try to end the world so nobody can plot against you anymore. It's like you don't even into being a proper Dark Lord.>>4090581Thus bullets or projectiles or wires. all of which have a lower surface area than gloves, depending on how small you make the bullets.
>>4090588>It's like you don't even into being a proper Dark Lord.Well maybe I don't want to be like other Dark Lords. Maybe I think Arthur can do better.
>>4090589>ultimately killed by some asshole spamming unlimited throwing knives.how is this better than drac, soma or graham?
>>4090592Hey man you can't escape fate. It's gotta happen eventually if you become Dark Lord.
>>4090596Not if you use your powers proactively instead of playing games because your immortal then get killed anyway because you didn't take anything seriously.
>>4090598Nah man. It has to happen. You start being a true terror in the night and suddenly a little girl starts praying and the nearby supremo vampire hunter starts glowing and being literally invulnerable. It is inescapable.
>>4090588>Thus bullets or projectiles or wires. all of which have a lower surface area than gloves, depending on how small you make the bullets.Lower surface area, but not necessarily lower volume. And, as has been previously pointed out projectiles are going to have to be launched out at a significant distance. Again, you're also ignoring the fact that with projectiles you have to keep them in existence for travel time whereas with my concept you only need it during the moment of the strike.Look, does anyone else want to weigh in on this? Do you want to fight with PoD-enhanced hand-to-hand combat or try to use it for thrown weapons? Anon and I seem to be at an impasse.
>>4090601I want to use PoD to make the smoothest sculptures in existence.
>>4090601>Lower surface area, but not necessarily lower volume.Looking at the options here: >>3965658 it seems we can even make beams from it, which are pretty fast, so this and the fog we used to cover an impossible distance in time both support the notion that we can use the PoD instantaneously, in which case projectile uptime becomes trivial since from launch to target would be literally or slightly less than instant, making the use of the power quite minimal, possibly more minimal than the time it would take to swing the arm after forming the quick execution weapon. Your suggested use still has the problems of being too close to react properly to shifting circumstances, and we're still decently slow so if the enemy decided to self-destruct out of spite we'd be done. Last time the enemy tried that we lost use of our left arm, and before that, even though we were a decent distance away we still got hit by shrapnel and almost had our back melted off.
>>4090621>we're still decently slow so if the enemy decided to self-destruct out of spite we'd be done. Last time the enemy tried that we lost use of our left arm, and before that, even though we were a decent distance away we still got hit by shrapnel and almost had our back melted off. Those were interesting scenes! Getting up close and personal with the enemy is what makes an action scene in something like this fun to read. It's not SWAT quest or Hitman quest, I don't see why you want to take this projectile-based approach, unless your main motivation is the aforementioned wanting to intentionally create genre-clash.Alright now, I'm done arguing the point for tonight. QM has heard both our opinions, in all the detail he could need to factor either or both into the quest.
>>4090644>I don't see why you want to take this projectile-based approachIt's simple. I don't see Arthur as a masochist, nor as holding single combat all-too-highly; And developing a fighting style with few weaknesses is fun. It makes it all the more intense when those weaknesses are exploited. As opposed to being in front of the enemy when they use their limited distance aoe bombing ability, then getting injured when you could've been 20ft away; But yeah I agree to let it lie since it seems impossible for us to see eye to eye on this topic anyway.
>Calmly open the door and attempt to negotiate a peaceful solution between Alura and her enemy. The man says he isn't here for you, after all....>Hello there
>>4090510>Calmly open the door and attempt to negotiate a peaceful solution between Alura and her enemy. The man says he isn't here for you, after all.We shouldn't be so hasty. Alura has been damaged, but she can regenerate anyway. We should at least hear his story before feeding him to the girls.
>>4090644>>4090650I'll keep both of your points in mind. It's an obvious point but the more powerful you get, the less pragmatic you can afford to be in combat.Should you get to be as strong as Dracula, you could toy with anyone on the planet except Alucard, Julius and if he survives till 2035, Soma.In case it wasn't clear, the Power of Destruction at it's maximum is something of a cheat ability. You've only accessed the more advanced stage one time in extreme stress. That's where it opens up to it's true potential. But don't expect to go full All Fiction with it unless Chaos amps you up with it's full power.>>4090588>>4090572Interesting motivations for committing to evil fully.Dracula's motivations were completely justified in wiping out at least one town. I mean, killing a healer on suspicion she's a witch? They got what they deserved. Then he just decided to go all the way.>>4090548You're assuming he was the one who started the fight.Which he very well may have.>>4090527Give Holly a break anon, she's not exactly in the sort of condition where she can make rational decisions or keep elegance in mind when blood is involved.Give her a few months, then we'll truly see how she's adapted.Fun fact that I can't really work into the story: the bat that you saw in the corridor was actually Holly's first time assuming the form.
>>4090829>You're assuming he was the one who started the fight.Well he is a russian. And killing people is his job. And he's cold-hearted. >holly was the bat that got broomslapped>mfwJesus Holly step up your game.
>>4090857She's just the most precious merciless killer around. Also surprisingly clingy.I wonder how she actually feels about Arthur.>no mention of her body temperature being cold for the handholdingDid you forget vampires are technically dead, QM?Or did Arthur just not take note of her temperature?
>>4090881>Did you forget vampires are technically dead, QM?Technically powerful undead. But yes, while vampires would normally be cool to the touch, Holly has recently done something that has raised her body temperature to more human levels...
>>4090974>Holly has recently done something that has raised her body temperature to more human levels...>a girl with superhuman speed, strength and magical abilities she's still in the process of discovering with about as much impulse control as an infant.>"I... OK Arthur, I'm sorry. It's just... It's difficult to resist even a simple impulse for me right now. Even a passing thought is difficult for me not to act on.">It looks as if Holly's new body is one that is avid to fulfill any desire that might take her fancy, even ones that she might not intend to act upon.>>>>>difficult to resist even a simple impulse>>>>>avid to fulfill any desire that might take her fancy>>>>>has always thought Arthur was cool and liked him>>>>>holding hands walking up to a fight>>>>>literally rescued her from killing him in bloodlust AND actually treated her with understanding the whole time AND did not attack her at all even AFTER the loss of controlOh, I can tell where THIS is going and exactly what is being implied here. The question is... will anons go for it when or if it DOES happen? I know I sure will. Because I posted the prompt to invite Hilde-whatshername into the bed during the hide-and-seek last thread.
With how broken the power of destruction has turned out to be, I have to wonder what the other abilities do or did.Change is probably some form of shapeshifting, maybe monster form?Control is maybe mind control?Seems like a copout.Shadows...I have no idea

>>4091077Let's wait until she reins herself in a tad before she inevitably outwaifus Hilde.

>>4091350Oh.I mean in regards to Shirley's behaviour through his youth.Any time a girl tried getting close to him, after a few days she'd suddenly begin to stay away from him completely. Arthur has never kissed a girl romantically before the story begun.
>>4091350I like Mistral.I just also think fairies are at their cutest when bullied.
>>4091350>Oh good! Somebody likes Mistral after all. She's pretty much Aqua-Wind Elemental Edition- and I'm all for that shit.>>4091352You would think so, but there's little things more amusing to me than people being annoyed and annoying people getting what they deserve.
>>4090600That won't be a problem if we kill god tho>>4091262>>4091375>Implying loli anti-god isn't best girl.

>>4091503Bro Chaos let Soma win. I don't think God would give us that courtesy.
>>4091514>let one of her last eligible contractees "defeat" her so he could keep autonomy over his soul, just because you value disharmony so much. She truly is best girl. That's no reason not to try though, true autonomy can only be gained once the puppetmaster has been ousted.

>>4091562That really doesn't disprove what I said, though. It's not a girl. It's still just a thing. Whether it's a dominant persona created out of boredom or a genuine personality that came into its own doesn't change that it is a force of arbitrary creation and not a real person. It is the facsimile of a real person as the fragment of Chaos saw fit to invent. And I won't fall into the trap of thinking it's anything else. That's how you get catfished by the second oldest being in reality.
>>4091567>be amalgamation of everything god doesn't want to exist in his world, and you can't be removed or the world would be destroyed.>get exiled to a featureless plane forever because God's such a dick>spend countless years wandering alone with yourself>eventually develop personalities to stave off existential dread>God fucks up and creates beings perfect for you to influence to spread yourself>find this guy who dislikes god so much he made himself live forever just to spite him>become friends>dude fucks up over and over cause he can just be leisurely until he gets bored enough to take over the world>apparently he had second thoughts cause now your personalities are split and sealed because of his fuck-ups>young dude shows up at the door to your seal with some of your power>he meets you>he says: "You're not human and your personality was manufactured so you can't be a girl."
>>4091739That has nothing to do with taste, though. Them's facts.
>>4091750Human personalities are manufactured by their environment, are you telling me that girls can't be girls now too?
>>4091754One problem with your argument. It isn't, nor was it ever human. For the same reason Alura is a plant and Coller is a machine, Chaos is a thing. Even Mistral is simply an elemental personification. The only reason vampires can be counted as girls or boys is because they were at least human once. Even though they are merely shells of what they once were. Frankly the only real girls we know are Shirley and Anna. I doubt Theresia is human, either. And yes, humans are superior. My magic 8-ball told me so.
>>4091764>only humans can be girlsabsolutely shit taste
>>4091567>>4091737>>4091750>>4091764Damn, anon, I thought the worst taste in this quest was wanting to reject our style potential and turn the Power of Destruction into a gun, but you take the cake.

Well this conversation sure took a turn for the odd in my absence.Killing God and whether or not Chaos counts as a real girl.>>4091375>I just also think fairies are at their cutest when bullied.>annoying people getting what they deserve.Poor Mistral, you know, she's nowhere near the level of useless goddess that Aqua is. >>4092370>Poor MistralHey, if the most extreme conclusion to Murphy's Law handpicks you to be unwillingly subservient to some random schmuck on a dangerous crusade against the forces of God then you might have done something wrong at one point in your life. Or maybe she just thought it would be funny. Or maybe she picked you at random, she's Chaos after all. But that doesn't rule out that there isn't some Karma at play.>It's not like the Blessing of Party Tricks is being offered.Well, that sounds like a (You) problem.
On the topic of ojous which exist only to be bullied, not waifud don't @ me we need to work on our own haughty laugh so we don't get outclassed in the HAM game.

I would pity you if you weren't so pathetic. Or something else needlessly grandiose and self-superior. This is what you wanted, right?
>>4092494On a slightly less jokey and confrontational note, what do you want in terms of a romantic partner for Arthur, anon? I've been shooting for a vampire bride this pretty much since I saw "Castlevania" in the title, but Chaos is also pretty cute. Since you don't like ojou characters or Chaos, though, I'm curious where you're coming from.
>>4092503Well I'm a sufferingboo so any waifu I'd pick I would do so expressly for the purpose of her being plucked away from Arthur to hurt him. Hardship encourages growth after all. So my ideal waifu for that purpose would be someone who is strong of will and capable of keeping up with Arthur in these troubling times. Not a damsel in distress but an true to form woman. And she'd have to bring out his good qualities rather than enforcing and indulging in his bad ones. A sort of counterbalance to the influences he has in his current companions, Chaos and even the very nature of his soul. All so that the loss of said waifu would be even more damning and painful. But I'm aware that I am quite too comfortable with misery and very fond of bringing it upon others. So I would never actually try to partake in the waifu wars. No matter who wins I'd want them to get got. As for a question of taste Alura is currently the closest to my ideal waifu we've come across. She's a bit flighty and whimsical for my taste, though. Ojou's are just too far on the scale. Because I've had to deal with similar people before and they're annoying as shit.
He's talking as is he has some sort of trump card up his sleeve, and his attacks have already been proven to have great effect on Alura and her organic attacks. After all, what good is a man eating plant when your enemy can simply shatter it like glass? It's really quite irritating, Alura, despite the obvious strength she holds, has only ever found herself against opponents with abilities that function as hard counters to her own. Shirley had her fire, and as you saw from how she immolated the entire mansion in rage, was apparently holding back with it, and then there's this new enemy with this ice. Nevertheless, the fact that she can still match these enemies even with these weaknesses to certain elements of hers taken into account is impressive in it's own regard. She never really did face off against Shirley properly though...For now though, you'll have to settle with putting an end to this fight. There's really no reason for Alura to be fighting this man, though you might have trouble persuading her otherwise now she's been so heavily injured. With one hand, you casually push your way through the door and into the dining hall, trying not to be surprised at the two dozen people in the room, both sitting and standing, that have been reduced to ice sculptures, or the sculptures that have obviously been knocked over during the course of the battle, frozen chunks of skull and brain are dashed against the floor, next to a half destroyed ice sculpture of an obese man. Seems for all his rage at the collateral damage going on on this ship, he's certainly no stranger to causing it himself. The man in question is standing on the opposite side to Alura, who is missing an arm, but doesn't really seem that hindered by it. The man is lightly panting in exhaustion with multiple wounds cut into his flesh through his clothing which is stained red through the white cloth in many places. His clothing looks more like the garb of some sort of fantastical wizard than anything else, you hope he wasn't just walking around like this for the entire trip and nobody ever took note of him for it, the clothing itself consists of a highly decorated white robe that seems to shimmer in the light drawn over a black tunic. The entire outfit is accentuated with golden decorations. The man has has a hand on the hilt of some unseen weapon, likely some form of sword. His hair is as white as the frost coating the room and his blue eyes reveal no emotion other than annoyance.
You cough to draw the attention of both the magician and Alura "Both of you ought to stop this madness. I have no idea what either of you are hoping to accomplish here at this point. You both should have realized the pointlessness of this fight by now." The man relaxes a little bit at your intrusion, seems that he might be possible to talk some sense with after all. "As for you, why are you attacking my ally? I heard something about a failed assassination attempt before I came in. You can't seriously be attacking purely out of spite. That's not very professional of you, is it?" Hopefully you can get a little bit of information from him.The man is about to speak up before an unseen vine tendril buried underneath the floorboards whips out of the floor and smashes into the side of the man, there's a crunch as it collides with his arm and sends him flying across the room, crashing into a few ice sculptures as he goes and reducing them to a shattered mess of frozen gore. Eventually coming to a stop and landing in a heap near one of the walls, well, it looks like he's still breathing at least, so he isn't dead just yet. After quickly having dealt with her enemy, the girl with a missing arm turns to you with a smile. "It's really about time you showed up, Arthur. I take it this... adorable little thing is the vampire then?" While her words are sweet, the tone is venomous, Alura seems to be sizing Holly up for a fight for some reason. You need to quickly remedy this situation before Alura decides to deal with Holly next "Ah, not quite the one we're looking for. Alura, I want you to meet...""It's Holly. My name is Holly Taylor" Holly lets go of your hand as she steps forwards, for the first time since you've seen her, she seems to have a little confidence behind her actions. "I knew Arthur for a while before my..." she murmurs something inaudibly, even you can't catch it. "turned me into a vampire. She's probably the one you're after." "Oh, is this true Arthur?" Alura seems to have deemed Holly less of a threat now, her eyes have lost the dangerous edge they had to them before you came into the room."True enough. She isn't the one who injured me, at least. As far as fighting goes, she's basically all power with no skill behind her, even I was able to defeat her." You feel like your statement downplays your own ability somewhat, but you don't mind. The point is to get Alura to stop considering Holly a potential threat, after all.
"Yeah. With my help! I'll have you know I A-aaaaaaaaaaa!" With a distance now made from Holly, the sylph hiding within your suit finally decides to make an appearance, unfortunately you're forced to cut her introduction short when out of the corner of your eye you see the ice magician struggling to his feet. Dashing across the room over to him, being at least a little careful of the remaining frozen diners just in case the freezing process isn't immediately fatal. Before the man can rise to his feet, you've managed to close the distance. His left arm is bent out of shape and in his right hand is a blue bottle of liquid that he is trying to bring to his mouth. Some sort of healing potion, possibly?"I wouldn't recommend that if I were you. Surrender, and I might just be convinced let you live." You can still get some information from the man, and he's clearly quite powerful. It might be wasteful to kill him off.The grip on the vial of liquid tightens, before he places it on the floor carefully. "That was a dirty trick you pulled, 'Mr. Dark Lord'. Fine, what exactly is it you want from me? There must be some reason you're not killing me immediately.">"Information, I'm in quite the need of it. If you value your life, you'll tell me everything I wish to know (Any questions in particular?)>"You mentioned being some kind of magical assassin, did you not? I might have need of your services in tracking down a vampire hiding aboard this ship.">"From you? I changed my mind, there's nothing you could say that could stop me from doing this." >>4092544>>"Information, I'm in quite the need of it. And secondly how far the word has spread on Arthur. What tales of the "dark lord" have graced the fair lands of fuckin europe. Fuckin Europe. And of course if there is a big dumb bounty or something on our head. These are the things that spring to mind for me. Asking him if we can pick up some anti-summer-weather spells from him is probably a less than ideal use of time. Or plainly useless depending on his disposition.

This is a valuable opportunity to get some more knowledge about the world around you. This defeated enemy could yet be of some use. "Information, I'm in need of it quite badly as things stand. So, if you value your life, You'll answer all of my questions, Mr...?""Izmaylov. My name is Grigori Izmaylov, your second question is no doubt who I work for, no?" You give the assassin a brief nod to continue. "Well, I usually work independently but sometimes I have a few partners that occasionally aid me on difficult missions, ever since the underground world found out about magic, there's been quite a lot of work for a man with my skill set. Even with the Church and their lapdogs going about and trying to either capture or destroy anything they can't control." "Your skill set? Tell me more about just what it is you can do, I'm quite interested in the skills of a magic-wielding assassin, if only to know what to expect in the future, though if you're not her for me, I would like to know just what you are hoping to accomplish here." If he's useful enough, it might even be worth keeping him around, a pity you don't really have a way to ensure his loyalty, or at least to ensure he won't try to kill you as soon as he has recovered from his current state. The man grunts as he drags himself over to a wall to lean against, his limp hand dangling uselessly. You allow him to drag himself across the floor, so long as he doesn't make any sudden movements. If he did, you're pretty certain you're close enough that you could kill him with one of those wind enhanced strikes you have courtesy of Mistral, so you decide it better to allow the mercy of allowing the wounded man to prop himself up against something. "The Izmaylov family have spent centuries researching our magic, if that's what you're asking. It's something passed down through our blood. As for my other skills, I pride myself on my ability to find people who don't want to be found, and I've trained in a variety of weapons, even the... more modern kind, should a job call for it. Though my preferred method of killing is to freeze their heart, by the time anybody finds a target and performs the autopsy, it's long since defrosted." The man chuckles despite the obvious pain. "They never get any further than simply labeling it as a heart attack. As for why I'm here, my target was meant to meet the now deceased monster dealer on this ship upon him reaching wherever they set up their meeting, I couldn't find any record of it, so that information disappeared down the neck of the bloodsucking monster that devoured him." He squints in Alura's direction, though you're pretty certain that the girl standing behind her is the true culprit."You know, you're awfully talkative for a man who might be moments away from his death. Aren't you at least a bit concerned?" It's not very professional for an assassin to spill everything he knows upon being captured, so you're a little confused.
"Not really, I'm a dead man either way. There's no point in being secretive if my current employer is just going to kill me for my failure regardless of how much I reveal here, so why would I bother being loyal to them? Fucking cultists, pay well but are never worth the effort. That's the problem with dealing with fanatics. I don't even know why the target was contacting a smuggler dealing in monsters, but it was stressed that it wasn't my concern." "Speaking of fanatics, you did mention the Church, are they involved with this... Dorin Organization? I seem to have attracted their attention in quite a significant way."The man laughs at the mention of the people pursuing you "And here I thought I was supposed to be the dead man! What did you do to piss those zealots off? Don't tell me they actually buy into this Dark Lord story!" The man is fairly crass, all things considered. It's kind of at odds with his appearance. You would've thought him to be more eloquent judging from looks alone."I'd prefer if you could tell me about them, instead of just laughing at the circumstances." You aren't really in a hurry, but you are the one asking the questions here, allowing Grigori to take control of the conversation wouldn't be beneficial at all."What's is there to say, they've been quite secretive since they were founded 70 or so years ago by some priest to 'help combat evil wherever it might thrive' or whatever their stupid motto was. Most of the time, their targets or people who try to antagonize them just vanish without a trace, never to be seen again. Doesn't matter how much power they'd amassed, more than a few people have picked a fight with them over the years, only to have their entire network dismantled the very next day."Sounds like Shirley's organization isn't quite as above board as she liked to pretend, or perhaps she was simply misled herself? It's a thought you don't want to dwell on, the girl had obviously betrayed you from the start. "So, I take it no stories of the Dark Lord have reached Europe then.""Unless you're talking about Dracula, then not really. All I've heard are a few rumors and prophecies being thrown about sometimes. Lot of people just don't know when to quit. Dracula is dead. Belmont took care of that." You're relieved that you are still a relative unknown across the sea, it seems the Dorin Organization aren't too quick to leak out information to the criminal underworld, but there is one thing he mentioned that deeply concerns you."Belmont?" That's an unfamiliar name, but somehow, just hearing it makes your heart beat a little faster and has somewhat worsened your mood."Vampire hunter family, if there's one type of person you don't want to fuck with, it's a Belmont, Whenever Dracula rose up in the past, it was almost always a Belmont that sent him back to his shallow grave." Well, at least you've got some information on a person to absolutely avoid now.
"Well then, Grigori, I think that brings an end to my questions for you. So now...>...I'll kill you painlessly.">...You can go free.">...You'll work for me.">...I'm going to let Alura deal with you in whatever way she pleases.">Write-in.

>>4094254>>...I'm going to let Alura deal with you in whatever way she pleases."He did freeze her arm off. Maybe she'll hit him with some organic morphine first. Probably not.
>>4094254>...I'm going to let Alura deal with you in whatever way she pleases."Yeah, don't want a disloyal guy like this working for us. Complete disaster in the making. Now how do we go about making it look like this guy was behind all the disappearances on this cruise.
>>4094272You're a fool if you think she isn't going to kill him as painfully as possible. She butchered like 30 something people merely for the threat of killing her.I would prefer we kept him alive, but I am interested in seeing just how far she'll go.
>>4094289Hey man it's always possible. Even if it isn't plausible. Frankly it doesn't matter. Alura already doesn't care for her companions save us. Adding this guy to the mix would just escalate the tensions in our group.A pity we finally meet a boy and he has to die. Damn ruskies.
>>4094254>>...You'll work for me."Since feeding him to Alura has strong support I'll change to this cuz I feel bad for him. And because we are no strangers to taking dumb risks.

He should've just called it quits instead of trying to fuck with us.Think of it this way, this one group pays you really well and after a few jobs you discover that they fuck over anyone who fails them and even hunt down quitters. The best thing to do in his head is to continue doing their job and not fuck up, shouldn't be too hard since they know what they're doing.Right now he's passing the Anger part of Grief after realizing he's dead meat.
>>4094582>realizing he's dead meat.Depending on how useful he is to us, he might become more literal meat for our predatory allies yet.
"You'll work for me, I have a task that you might be of help in accomplishing. Of course, that is unless your pride as an assassin or some other oath-bound nonsense prevents you from doing so, I could simply have Alura play with you however she wishes, and I doubt it's an experience that would be enjoyable for you." The man looks you in the eye as you declare his fate, his poker face is pretty good, he remains completely straight-faced. Honestly, you were expecting to see at least some sort of relief at his life being spared. The man sighs as he readjusts himself against the wall. "If that's the way you want to do things, that's fine. If I've got a choice between death and breaking a contract by working for somebody else, I'm not so foolish that I would prioritize my reputation over my own life. Not for the sake of a bunch of lunatics. Besides, they paid half up front anyway." He eyes Alura warily. "Just, keep your girl over there under control. I've fought my fair share of monsters in my life, and she tops that list in regards to danger. I really don't like that look she's got in her eye either.""Aww, so I don't get to kill him yet? Too bad. I suppose I'll just have to wait before giving you exactly what he deserves." You supress the urge to jump at the voice coming from directly behind you, turning just in time to see Alura flash the injured magician a savage smile before she smashes the vial of blue liquid that was placed on the floor underfoot. "I think you can stay like that for now at least though. You can suffer the pain of losing the use of that arm for a while." Grigori does nothing but give her a pained smile in response as she walks away to inspect the ice sculptures for whatever reason."I can't really say you don't deserve it, Mr. Izmaylov. You did take one of her arms during the skirmish the two of you decided to have, and it's perfectly normal for anyone to be upset about that, the difference between her losing her arm and you losing the use of yours is that you are only alive because I decided you were more useful to me that way. Were it not for my intervention, you don't want to imagine what Alura would do to you, I believe that she would really excel at making your death a painful one." Honestly, you don't really want to imagine what she'd do to him either, but you ought to get the man to properly fear the retribution he'd suffer if he did betray you somewhere down the line. "Oh, and the name is Arthur Bernhard. Commit it to memory."
"Bernhard, huh? Alright then. You don't need to rub the situation in my face." He coughs up some blood. "I take it I'm not getting paid for this job you had in mind? Who or what are you actually trying to find anyway?" The man immediately changes his attitude as he begins to speak business with you. He understands he's not getting paid at least, which is good. Because you're pretty certain you don't have the funds to actually pay him right now even if you wanted to. If you're going to spend life on the run, then you're going to need to figure out a way to make some money. But that will have to come later. "You won't be getting paid for this, no. But don't worry, should you prove your worth, I can assure you that you will be well rewarded for any later work I have you undertake." Another lie, but you're confident with the power you and your allies have, gathering physical currency won't exactly be difficult. Even if you have to instruct Coller to rob a bank or something. " You see, me and my allies have been looking for a powerful vampire hidden aboard this cruise ship for the last few days and haven't had much luck in finding her."For the first time, Grigori actually takes note of the girl standing near the door. "I assume you aren't here to slay this vampire then? Because the girl over there is pretty clearly a vampire. I'm actually quite surprised with how she's looking at me that she hasn't tried anything yet." He pushes his good hand through his hair, pushing it out of his eyes. "Seeking out a powerful vampire that obviously wants to remain hidden? Sounds like suicide to me. But a job is a job. It's a shame I'll be doing it with only one arm, but I've had worse." You can't get a read on him, it's really quite infuriating that he seems to be taking the whole situation so lightly."I'm glad we could come to some sort of arrangement. Killing exceptional individuals such as yourself would be quite wasteful." And you need all the power you can get right now, especially if the Dorin Organization is as dangerous as everyone seems to believe, or in case this 'Belmont' fellow shows his face. Then there's Chaos' request to take into consideration, it's doubtful that the other Dark Lord Candidates will be easy to kill no matter how you go about things. That is, if you decide to go through with killing them after all.
Turning away from the injured man, you see that Alura has taken an interest in one of the frozen diners. Specifically one of the waitresses, if you had to wager, you'd say she's in her late twenties. As for Alura's interest in the waitress, you quickly notice the reason as to why, though her jaw has frozen shut, she's still clearly alive. Terrified eyes darting back and forth as Alura looks at the woman, expression neutral. "Mmm, you'll do." Is all Alura says as she plunges her hand into the womans throat. The woman's eyes roll to the back of her head as her body withers away, all the while Alura's missing arm steadily regrows. It takes less than half a minute for Alura's arm to be restored completely, and to leave the waitress a withered husk. You really would've preferred not having to see that. A quick glance at your newly employed assassin confirms he shares your thoughts on the matter, while Holly looks on with an expression that could only be called fascination.Alura casually tosses the partially frozen husk of a body away, which shatters completely into sparkling dust as it collides with the floor. The clothing the waitress was wearing perfectly preserved despite the utter destruction of the body of the woman wearing it. Alura smiles as she looks your way, clearly looking to gauge your reaction to her casual murder. While you do a perfect job of hiding your thoughts on the brutal killing, the man responsible for killing the majority of the room looks a little green, it's the first time his mask has slipped. Upon realizing your apparent lack of disgust at the murder and consumption of a fellow human being, Alura gives you a happy smile "Well, with this pest taken care of, I believe we're done here." Alura stretches her new arm out as she doesn't even bother hiding her disdain for your new ally.Though she is probably correct, you're definitely going to have to do something about the mess they've caused here. It's just too much for you to ignore>Ask Alura if she has any way to get rid of the bodies.>Ask Grigori for his advice on disposing of this many bodies.>Use the Power of Destruction in an effort to completely erase all the bodies.>Just leave things as they are, nobody is going to realise what actually happened here anyway.>Write-in...

>>4094905>>Ask Grigori for his advice on disposing of this many bodies.
How long would it take to just dump all the bodies overboard?
>>4094951Well, there's 23 frozen diners you'd need to carry a fair distance to dump overboard.So...A fair amount of time, at least.Well, Alura can manage the majority by herself, but then you'd run into the problem of a rising bodycount for everyone that saw you.
Well then,>>4094905>Use the Power of Destruction in an effort to completely erase all the bodies.

>>4094971>>4095061There are TWENTY THREE of them. We'll pass out!
>>4095098This is the fastest, and the cleanest method to clean the deck, if we aren't going to frame icy then we need to hide the evidence VERY well, you know, maybe make it so the evidence never existed to be found? And I doubt we'll faint from this, we've made a cloud that erased all that existed in it before. If we can't destroy 23 corpses without fainting then we'll be in trouble when we have to erase our murders in the future regardless so best to find out our limits now.
>>4095104>maybe make it so the evidence never existed to be found?Twenty three people vanishing without a trace on a cruise ship that was all torn up on the inside is still super suspicious though.
>>4095114yeah, not like we can do anything about that though, maybe instigate a brawl on board and attribute it to that or something.
>>4095098Good point.>>4094905>>4095061Switching.>Ask Grigori for his advice on disposing of this many bodies.
>>4095116Clearly we just need to sink the ship and commandeer one of the life boats. Also steal all the food before we do.
We're still gonna have to deal with all the bodies Holly has been leaving around the ship, and possibly foist the responsibility of all the disappearances on the dead monster dealer.Actually, >>4095130That's perfect. Let's do it like 1 day before reaching port.
>>4095135Remember to bring an umbrella. Gotta watch out for that mega sunburn.
>>4095140Alura can just make a sunflower umbrella, OR she could even make a big leaf boat!
>>4095144No, it's actually better than the lifeboat since it's biodegradable and wouldn't leave any evidence on-shore. Ships sink often enough that it wouldn't be too suspicious if it did, certainly not more suspicious than all the missing people with structural damage and no bodies.
>>4095147Coller weighs like ten million ducks though. She'd be too heavy for a bigass floating fern.
>>4095162Wasn't she floating in the tank we found her in? Even if she's heavy, the car could hold her weight, and Alura could crush the car. She could also make a balloon plant, or Coller could run on the sea floor. Really the only problem I see with this plan is the crew getting suspicious about the disappearances and contacting the mainland.
>>4095168We never found out what that fluid she was floating in was. And cars can carry a whole hell of a lot more without issue than boats can, What happens when you put too much weight on one side of a car? It drags a little and gets sluggish. Boats'll topple over or sway too much. And a leaf is way more flexible than a boat. It'll bend and that'll throw off the integrity of it all. The boat is superior to the leaf.In fact we should burn all leaves. Quickly, to the amazon.
>>4095187I think our objective should simply be to leave the boat some time before it reaches land. That's it. We just get off, perhaps on a leaf boat, and call it a day. We must do it during night and temporarily knock out guards and operators so we get away safely. Alura can do that easily though.
>>4095187Then you just have to disperse the weight along enough surface area. So she could make a really huge leaf as the floor and hull, or, she could make really long plant tubes full of air, then coil them conically underneath the leaf to give it enough buoyancy to offset the weight.
>>4095196What you don't want to potentially kill a ton of people by sinking a ship? Pft, what are you, a good person?
>>4095201>tfw teaching alura about shipbuilding and engineering for a leaf
>>4095126>>4095098>>4095024Just to be clear, you guys do realize that the longer we stall actually dealing with the bodies, the higher the likelihood of having to kill additional witnesses right?>>4095196Sinking the ship just gets rid of the evidence, not sure if we go through with it whether or not we should make sure all the passengers die by sabotaging the lifeboats or not.
>>4095224You do realize that if we faint due to overusing the power of destruction we have absolutely no way of dealing with the consequences that ensue right? Please accept the fact that it's a stupid risk that people don't want to take instead of mass quoting people who know what they're voting for just because you aren't having your way.
>>4095234Let's see, we have Alura and holly right next to us, and we just secured an alliance with Grigori. If we faint I'm sure Alura would help us out. An it's not like Grigori would just try to kill us right after we cleaned a mess he was partially responsible for.
>>4095239I don't think I have enough Hinas for the amount of misfortune this route would take us.
>>4095258What's the worst that could happen? We spend a few days unconscious talking to drac/chaos while the vampire gets antsy we haven't found her yet and starts killing people blatantly to get our attention while grigori's original target gets paranoid and uses magic to find out what happened to his monster dealer friend?
>>4095263>What's the worst that could happen?People mistakenly think spending time with Chaos is a positive.
>>4095273Chaos is a top-tier benefactor so I can forgive that. But time loss is a ridiculous cost in our current circumstances.

>>4095952Truly the dankest of lords we are.
>>4095960Where's the logic in becoming the biggest terrorist on the planet? You're suggesting In order to cover up some mysterious deathsThe potential greatest maritime disaster ever.Where all the lifeboats are sabotaged in order to ensure only your group survives. Also, more deaths than fucking 9/11, potentially depending on the ship's capacity.I thought Arthur was True Neutral.Pretty sure one-upping Al Qaeda would put him straight at Chaotic Evil.Chaos (bestest girl) might be impressed at least.
>>4096046Not to mention having the entire ship disappearing is gonna raise even more eyebrows then disappeared people.
>>4096046>>4096053When the mundane police hear about missing people on a cruise ship, the church's moles will realize something's up. There may be 1 or 2 people who go missing on cruises, but normally there are none, and on this cruise there will be upwards of ~30 missing people. Now if the ship gets sunk, it makes way more sense why some people would disappear, and the lifeboats don't necessarily have to be sabotaged, its just the best opsec. Nobody needs to know it was an actual terrorist attack, it just could've been a marine accident, which is why we cut all the comms before sinking the ship.
>>4094905>Check if Holly's doing okay.>Ask Grigori for his advice on disposing of this many bodies.
>>4096046I never suggested sabotaging the lifeboats. Merely that sinking the ship is always an option. I think you're being a lawfulfag and also using a shitty alignment chart where it absolutely should not be. Obviously in CV there are only three alignments, Order Boi, Unaware and Dank Lord.

>>4096716>...oh.>Ok then.Instant regret. New record.
When it comes to the disposal of bodies, you aren't exactly an expert. Your best idea would be either using the Power of Destruction to try to erase all of the bodies entirely, leaving no evidence at all, though you're pretty sure the toll summoning up the destructive energy takes on you would leave you unable to finish the task of actually erasing all twenty-three of the frozen diners. Of course, another idea that comes to mind is simply starting a fire to try to erase any evidence of the events that occurred today, but that won't work either. Creating a fire that large would likely quickly spread out of control too quickly and end up jeopardizing the whole ship, not to mention it would likely make international headlines if it got so out of control that it required an evacuation effort to take place. But you have somebody who should at least have some sort of experience in covering up 'accidents' like this, and seeing as how he's the one responsible for the frozen corpses, most of the responsibility should fall on your new underling. "Grigori, I believe that incidents such as this one are normally covered up, correct? To prevent the general populace from finding out about what goes on behind the curtain, so to speak. How do you suggest we go about clearing up this mess? I'll defer to your experience in this matter." Hopefully he'll have some idea, you don't really know if giving Alura the go ahead to deal with the corpses is something you want to do, for the sake of "Normally, we try to keep unrelated deaths and collateral damage to a minimum. It's only because I was cornered that I was forced to do... this. Even then, the surprise attack barely even slowed her down." The man picks himself up off the floor with his non mangled arm, you notice that he is slightly shorter than you are as he raises himself to his full height. "As for getting rid of this many bodies? Well, again, there isn't really a precedent for this much chaos. I doubt we can simply get out of this one by bribing the right person. But don't you think it's strange?" Grigori quite out of nowhere questions you on, well actually, you aren't totally sure what he's talking about. The fact that he killed all these people? Alura drinking that waitress? "What do you mean? What do you think is so strange about all this? I was under the impression that this is the sort of thing you and people like you got up to all the time." It's not really like you've got much experience though, perhaps this is all just some sort of aberration from the norm for the supernatural that you've experienced. You can't imagine that anybody would actually enjoy subjecting themselves to indefinite combat and danger however, though with your conversational partner being a killer for hire, you somehow doubt Grigori cares much about having to fight.
"I'm not talking about my fight against your bizarre bloodsucking plant, I mean the other murders that have gone on in this ship. Do you really think it's normal that nobody seems to care or even be aware of the disappearances on board this ship? You would expect the crew to have taken notice of the gruesome murders through looking for absentee passengers. Or for the passengers themselves concerned about their friends or family suddenly going missing and finding the corpses in their rooms. Instead, there's just... nothing. No alerts, no warnings, not even rumors being told among the passengers. Not a single passenger I've spoken to believes anything is wrong." The man sighs "This vampire you're after. I can't really be certain, but I think it might have placed some sort of enchantment over this ships passengers, targeting those with no knowledge of the supernatural in order to force them to overlook any sort of occurrence that would otherwise reveal something on board is terribly wrong." He's suggesting that this vampire, this 'Hildebrandt' is capable of brainwashing thousands of people at once? "Is something like that even possible? In that case, how do we know we're not under her spell right now?" The man simply shrugs. "Maybe we are, who can tell? It's a vampires nature to bewitch and charm it's victims after all. All I know is the reason that vampires are so respected and feared among almost everyone that knows about them. You see, a vampire that is over a century old will have had all the time it would ever need to master the use of the powers granted to it, as well as those powers simply getting greater as the vampire ages. But of course that isn't all, they can also use their nearly unlimited time in order to learn an incredible deal in the use of magic, of which they are of course all naturally talented at." Is there a hint of jealousy in his voice? "The girl over there, the other vampire. She's just been turned, hasn't she? I've met one or two vampires in the past, and she doesn't carry herself with anywhere near the level of self-importance they did. But I'm getting off topic, twenty three bodies, and however many ripped apart corpses in rooms..." Grigori trails off into thought as he seems to weigh your options mentally, you ought to leave him to it, Holly hasn't actually done much moving since you came into the room and saw the carnage. She might be no longer be one anymore, but there's no telling just how this scene may have impacted on what human sensibility she might have left. "Holly, how are you holding up. I know that you're a vampire now, but if you need to take a minute, that's fine."
The girl seems shocked at your sudden concern for her, twiddling her hands slightly. "Oh, umm... I'm fine, I think. After the first few times, seeing this just felt... natural, I guess?. It was pretty scary those first few times. When I came to my senses covered in all that blood, but I... I don't really feel bothered by seeing something like this anymore." It's strange seeing a girl who not a week ago was a completely normal receptionist adapt to the darkness of her new life so quickly. Though it's likely something to do with the fact that she's not a human anymore, you aren't really sure just how much of the original Holly is left in the girl before you. Certainly, she has the girl's memories and the same appearance... mostly. Other than her paler skin, her pointed ears and those crimson red eyes, there are other subtle differences. Her facial structure has changed ever so slightly too. Similarities aside, is it really natural for somebody to so freely be able to embrace their new life preying upon humanity?Though isn't thinking such things rather hypocritical? Holly was dragged into this insanity on the same day you were, and you've had much the same sort of experience as her. Of course, you weren't forcibly converted into a creature of the night forced to feed on humans, but you've come to accept your allies and the monstrous acts they freely commit all the same. Could a normal human really stomach witnessing such things? Does this have something to do with being a Dark Lord Candidate? Or is it due to Chaos herself? These are questions you don't know the answer to, it's clearly unnatural for you to have become so quickly used to the madness surrounding you, but you've just come to accept things as they are for now."That's good, just, don't be afraid to say anything if you need help with getting used to this... new life you've found yourself in." You don't really know what to say to her. She's somebody that you do feel somewhat responsible for the protection of now. Holly turns away from you. "T-thank you Arthur, you're a very kind person. But I'm fine, really. You don't need to worry about me." She's lost almost all of that confidence she had earlier on when she was introducing herself to Alura. Do you scare her or something?
"Hey, Casanova. If you're done charming the hearts of these pure and innocent maidens, I've got a few ideas on how to deal with this mess now." Grigori brings your attention back to the matter at hand, drawing sour looks from both Alura and Holly at the same time. "You see, plan one is we take a chance on there being some sort of mind altering magic affecting the ship and use it as our opportunity to dispose of the corpses by throwing them straight into the ocean. Plan two is we shatter the statues, I lock the door, and we spend the rest of the day hoisting sacks of frozen human chunks about. Or the third plan, and I'm only really mentioning this in case things get desperate." He sighs, you're pretty sure if he had some sort of drink, he'd take a swig from it right now. "The third plan is to cover up the disappearances on board the ship by sinking it to the bottom of the ocean. That way, any missing passengers will simply be listed as casualties of the sinking."Plan three certainly sounds extreme, but you suppose there's only so much you can get away with aboard the ship until sinking it becomes the safer alternative to allowing it to dock with it's passengers all a threat to your continued evasion of the Dorin Organization.>Go with Plan One, Grigori has a fairly solid theory about the passengers not seeming to notice the obvious.>Go with Plan Two, it might take longer and be quite a disgusting task, but you don't want to take any chances.>Go with Plan Three, it's by far the most extreme plan, but it covers up the events on board the ship the best, giving a reasonable explanation as to the missing passengers.>Write In
>>4097422>Go with Plan Three, it's by far the most extreme plan, but it covers up the events on board the ship the best, giving a reasonable explanation as to the missing passengers.Obviously Holly got mindfucked by hildebrant into losing her resistance to these kinds of scenes, if her loosing control at the mere mentioning of feeding is anything to go by.
>>4097422>Go with Plan Three, it's by far the most extreme plan, but it covers up the events on board the ship the best, giving a reasonable explanation as to the missing passengers. So, what's the next step of our master plan?
>>4097422>Go with Plan One, Grigori has a fairly solid theory about the passengers not seeming to notice the obvious.Yeah, plan 3 sounds like a complete disaster. Let's not sink the ship out of nowhere and rely on fucking lifeboats to finish our voyage, huh? Dracula made it to London in a ghost ship that'd had all its passengers and crew converted into his food, and no eyebrows were raised. I'm sure Hildebrant will have arranged for the mundanes to similarly ignore this.
>>4097469dude when was that? like 200-300 years ago? We have passenger lists and nigh-instant communications now, the discrepancy will be noticed by someone, and it only takes one report to the police to get the church's attention.
>>4097422>Go with Plan One, Grigori has a fairly solid theory about the passengers not seeming to notice the obvious.I don't want Arthur to become a mass murderer, yet.
>>4097422>Go with Plan One, Grigori has a fairly solid theory about the passengers not seeming to notice the obvious.I also offer this:>Ask Grigori if he can make ice non-see-through.When you transport a giant block of ice to be thrown out, and you can't see anything in it, a body is probably not what you'll think of, rather just...a huge chunk of ice. If he's capable of this simple ability, it solves everything aside from making us look really weird, throwing tons of ice away.
>>4097442>>4097448Obviously, Grigori wasn't aware of this when he suggested it, but here's something to consider.Cruise ship from the port closest to where a Dark Lord Candidate started evading them sinks with no survivors.Whatever will Shirley and Alucard think?>>4097469>I'm sure Hildebrant will have arranged for the mundanes to similarly ignore this. But similarly, the whole problem with the disappearances in the first place, is that even if the populace of the boat has been enchanted, the enchantment won't last forever, should Hildebrant die or stop making an effort to keep it active then there would suddenly be mass panic and potential rioting, also it won't apply to people who are outside of the range of the enchantment (i.e. people not on the ship).Either way, that's the one big problem with being confined on board an isolated cruise ship with a man-eating plant girl who can barely control her urges, a fledgling vampire that can't control her urges at all, and a powerful vampire who might just be killing for her own entertainment.>>4097478>yet.Ominous.>>4097496>transporting about huge blocks of ice just to throw overboard. The mental image of this is actually fairly hilarious.>"Oh yes, these were all rejected for the ice carving competition, too cloudy."
>>4097422>Go with Plan One, Grigori has a fairly solid theory about the passengers not seeming to notice the obvious.Ship sinking is too high profile.
>>4097422backing this hard >>4097496also yeah fuck ship sinking we already will do plenty of that later with Arthur and other girls hahahajokes aside, he's gonna fucking break down and have an episode where all of this just hits him simultaneously. any day now after the cruise ship arc ends, he has to fucking have a "WHAT THE FUCK HAVE I BEEN DOING?!" crisis

He's long overdue to freak out now.Or at least a talk with one of his allies.
>>4097847>Whatever will Shirley and Alucard think? They'll think "What an unfortunate accident, there's no way Arthur would do something so public and massive so fast when he knows we are looking for him. Let's send a couple goons to check first but look elsewhere.">>4097893It's not like all of his actions have been unreasonable up until now though, I don't think he's going to have a freak out that bad, more like a reflection on how calm he's been, when he started being calm, other areas in his life where this weird calm may have applied before that he didn't think about at the time, etc.Arthur doesn't seem to be a giant freak out kinda guy, and forces himself to keep calm, as evidenced by when he directly witnessed Alura feeding and schooled his face hard enough to mask any emotion besides disinterest. Would also be pretty lame to just lose it when we've been playing Arthur as a guy who keeps his wits about him and doesn't want to be manipulated.>>4097992>This brainwashing thing she's got going on would just be too broken for us to have. Think how much we could just exploit it.Alura wasn't intended to have joined us either, there's no reason we can't pull that stunt again, but we'd have to actually interact with her to accomplish that. And don't downplay Alura's usefulness, she could mind-wipe whole cities by poisoning the water supply then spreading her vines to everyone, and that's just something non-lethal that she could accomplish.
>>4098001>AluraIs she really that strong? Why don't we try getting her to tell us just what she can do before we assume she's some sort of city destroying threat? We'd be able to better plan if we knew the capabilities of our allies. And their weaknesses. We need to know just what Coller and Holly are good for.
>>4098017Yeah, this post >>3949741 is confirmation.Though, I'm for getting a good grasp of our allies abilities.
>>4098017Strong?Not really. I don't think Alura is a particularly powerful combatant. However, the utility she offers is outstanding. In combat, it's just a tricky fighting style. Out of combat, it's a bunch of ridiculously strong powers. The fact that plants can be modified/engineered, combined with how many magical ones surely exist, makes her easily A-tier or higher in this regard.

>>4098357>She'll never be Maxim tier.Well I'm not sure she'll ever get strong enough to kill Dracula's wraith in less than 20 seconds but she was strong enough to level an entire Mansion when angry.
>>4098357>Why?Because she's a vampire hunter and pawn of the organization that destroyed Dracula and opposes the Dark Lord. It's a sort of 'tragic pair fated to battle despite the bond they formed as children' angle that ends with us shedding our last tears over her corpse as we undergo the final stage of the mental shift necessary to becoming the true Dark Lord.

I think even sealed he's still highly intelligent and wise to the ways of humans due to his age, so the best way to combat him would be to wipe him out with magic. >>4098438Then we gank him in the next room right? Otherwise we just get ran over by the treasures spawned in the castle he'd find.

In all seriousness though, I do really hope we get the chance to build and live in a giant gothic castle at some point. One thing you can't fault Dracula on was his taste in housing.
>>4098444That dude has great style. Actually most of the villains have great style. We must develop our own sleek gothic victorian american style to wow absolutely nobody on how much time we spent doing something somewhat unrelated to gathering power.

If we get offered a gift by Chaos, what should we ask for? Immortality?Invulnerability? Another of the Powers?Magic? Her hand in marriage?
>>4099299I don't think Drac's fragment would like that very much. "We'll go with the first plan, but I have a question to ask you, Grigori." It's about time you put the power of your new underling to the test, he's obvious quite competent when it comes to combat, but you have a perfect opportunity to see just how complete his magical ability to manipulate ice is. He says nothing as he waits for you to continue. "Your magic, just what is it? You can create ice and freeze things, that much is clear, but how does is your manipulation of the actual substance itself? Could you make it so the ice encasing these frozen corpses is more opaque? That way, even if there isn't some sort of magical brainwashing altering the minds of everyone on board this ship, we can safely dispose of the bodies." It's a plan less brutal and far less time consuming than trying to smash them up one at a time to be disposed of safely, and though it might be a stretch, you can simply say that you are disposing of the losers of some ice carving competition held privately by some of the ship's richer clientèle. Carrying about what appear to be ice sculptures would looks far less suspicious than heaving obviously frozen corpses around. Though thinking of appearances does raise an issue of significant concern that you simply hadn't thought about till now. There ought to be at least some security cameras on board the ship, if Alura and Grigori's fight was recorded, that could lead to even more issues down the line!"Of course I can, even an apprentice could do something so simple! Though I will need to patch up a few spots to ensure the illusion isn't broken. Which might be easier had I had two functioning arms." You frown at the man's reminder that Alura despite obviously being quite loyal to you, does seem to have a rather viscous streak. Grigori might have been more useful to you with both of his arms intact, but there's no point in blaming her. You likely would've wanted to do the same thing had somebody taken one of your arms, well, you can't regenerate like Alura can, but it must still have been painful for her to lose it even for just a little while. Grigori starts moving from statue to statue, muttering something in some foreign language, probably Russian, with a palm placed on them. His brief chants all end with the frozen corpses all gaining a thin layer of cloudy ice on them.
It takes him only about fifteen minutes to transform the obvious frozen corpses into sculptures of frosted ice, you spend the time watching him work. Though you get no real understanding of the magic he's casting from merely observing, and he mentioned it was something only those with his blood could use, you are interested in it nonetheless. Holly and Alura are busy in the corner of the room conversing about something, there's a faint smile on Holly's face as she talks to the older looking woman about something, though you don't bother trying to listen in. The two of them would likely notice if you tried, so there's really no point to it, at least Alura seems to be indulging Holly, judging from the atmosphere the two of them seem to be giving off. Maybe they have some sort of common ground helping them get along? Both of them do drink blood, after all.Regardless of it appearing as if Alura is finally getting along with one of your other allies somewhat, you do need to break up their conversation in order to start disposing of the bodies. Walking over to the two girls, who finish up speaking as they notice your approach "Alura, Holly. We need to get rid of these bodies, alright? With all of us working together, it shouldn't take us too long." Between all four of you, it should hopefully only take about three or four trips, Holly and Alura are strong enough to manage carrying two at once, and you feel like you can comfortably carry one yourself."Oh, has that useless ice magician finally finished? He sure took his time." Alura clearly looks disappointed when she fails to get a rise from her target. "So, we're simply throwing these bodies overboard? What a waste. Holly, how many do you think you can carry at once? If the only thing that mattered was their weight, I mean." What is she up to?"Carry at once? Umm..." Unexpectedly, Holly simply walks over to one of the statues and lifts it with one hand without showing much strain or effort at all "Maybe umm... ten, twenty? I think there are too many to carry at once though... B-but if I had to compare it my strength before, They have about half the weight of a pillow. I think?" Twenty!? Is she really that strong? It really does put into perspective just how strong supernatural beings like her are. She's saying she can lift over a ton by herself?"Oh? So nearly the same as me then? That's really quite impressive. Of course, you are quite restricted to just those two arms of yours, whereas I can simply reinforce my strength as I desire." You aren't sure why the two are talking about their strengths right now, but Alura summons a plant tendril from the ground as thick as your arm to help make her point. Holly looks as if she's about to speak up, but quickly deflates, apparently defeated.
But this new knowledge your allies have decided to share with you, then it shouldn't take very long at all to get rid of these bodies. But now isn't exactly the time to discuss this any further, you have a job to do, not to mention every minute wasted here is a minute you don't spend looking for Hildebrandt. "Can't you two decide this later on? We have a busy day ahead of us still. Ok?" The two girls turn to you before Holly nods and Alura shrugs. You consider forbidding the two from taking too many at once, but you suppose with Hildebrandt's enchantment pacifying the passengers, it doesn't matter so much. But you'll definitely need to find out if there is some sort of security room aboard the ship in order for you to erase any evidence of any of these supernatural goings-on they may have recorded. It's highly doubtful that a vampire will have enough knowledge of modern technology to actually realize such devices exist. You'll have to find out just how well this immortal has immersed herself in the modern world when you find her though. You have until the ship makes port to erase your presence aboard anyway. In the end, you and Grigori both only take one statue each, though you feel like you could manage another, you decide to leave the heavy lifting to the powerhouses of the strange little group you've found yourself the leader of, what's impressive is . In the end, Holly manages to take about 5 of the statues by stacking them on top of each other horizontally, While Alura simply carries the rest of them with a few vines. You really hope that there really has been a spell cast on the passengers, otherwise this would be simply impossible to explain to somebody wondering just how a girl could carry 5 large ice sculptures larger than her, not to mention Alura's plants. Thankfully though, you run into no trouble as you dispose of the corpses, a few times people simply walk past you in the corridor, taking no notice of the logic defying events taking place before their very eyes. Eventually, you manage to reach the door leading to the outside, only for Holly to stop. Of course. "I think you probably might know what I'm about to say, huh? It's one of the few things I was actually told, vampires can't go out in sunlight without being burned. Especially a newly turned one like me, I wouldn't last more than a minute out there!" It's an interesting thing to know that sunlight wouldn't kill her immediately, at least she won't be vaporised for accidentally opening the curtains and catching a glimpse of sunlight, so that's good to know."Don't worry Holly, just drop them here and we'll take care of the rest." You do find it quite sad that Holly will never again be able to walk in the sun without bursting into flame and burning to death. Though all things considered, she doesn't seem that torn up about it.
Alura handles the 5 statues that Holly is forced to put down as the three of you make your way outside, unceremoniously flinging the deceased holiday-makers into the briny depths. "This is the clumsiest body disposal I've ever had to carry out, by the way. Though I suppose the situation allowed for such clumsiness." He shakes his head as he turns away, heading back inside. "Come, we have a vampire to find, no? Daylight is wasting." With that, he disappears back into the hallway, followed shortly after by Alura, leaving you alone as you gaze across the calm ocean glistening in the sunlight, a gentle breeze carries the smell of the sea with it. Well, it leaves you mostly alone."Are things always like this? I don't really remember seeing any human live a life as exciting as this one. Vampires, that scary plant and magicians! All in one day!" Mistral emerges from within your suit again as you make your way back inside. "Normally you humans are so boring! When you aren't busy doing nothing but talking and tapping away at those weird windows, all you do is follow the same path almost every day! It's all so uniform and boring! And those stone forests you build to live in! Simply horrible!" Ah, it seems the free spirited... spirit of nature dislikes the modern life that a human leads."They aren't always like this, no. Though since I found out about the supernatural, things have been rather hectic. To tell the truth, I haven't had a break ever since some golem tried to kill me within my own home. It's a miracle I haven't had some sort of psychotic breakdown, honestly. Or maybe I have, and you're all hallucinations constructed by my own mind. Figments of my imagination to comfort me during a time of great stress." It's not really something you're that worried about, there seems to be at least some sort of logic to this world of magic you've found yourself in. Chaos notwithstanding."Umm... What does psycho tick mean?" Mistral scratches her head in confusion, perhaps this ignorant fairy isn't the best person to talk with about this after all. She begins happily flying about in the ocean breeze after a long moment of silence, apparently she ceased caring. You stare at her with disappointment heavy in your expression, she either doesn't notice or she doesn't care. Then she simply stops and looks at you, irritated for some reason. "Why haven't we gotten any food yet anyway? You promised you would!" Yes, this definitely isn't the correct partner for this chat. Ah well.Opening the door and heading back inside, you notice immediately from your allies that something is wrong, Grigori is leaning against a wall, cigarette hanging out of his mouth, while Alura looks somewhat upset. Holly is missing. There's a note pinned to a wall... with your knife.>Ask Alura what happened.>Ask Grigori what happened.>Prioritize reading the note.>Write-in...

You walk over to it and tear the note off of the wall, taking note of how the knife has been embedded in the wall up to the hilt. It's unfortunate that it isn't the infinitely more useful holy dagger, but you suppose you'll just how to wait until you actually meet with Hildebrandt before retreiving that. The note itself is written in incredibly elegant cursive, the handwriting is beautiful, but the contents of the text are deeply unnerving. 'Dear Arthur Bernhard,Please refrain from using my servant to carry out your menial tasks in the future without first getting my express permission to order her around. Because of the enthusiasm she showed the moment she first had an opportunity to defy the orders she was supposed to be following, I'll have no choice but to discipline the foolish girl. Also, do you understand the rules of hide and seek? I am supposed to be the one hiding, while you are the seeker, it's your job to find me. With this in mind, I would like to also ask you to refrain from suddenly completely vanishing for multiple days. I got so bored waiting to see if you would return that I almost decided to simply sleep the rest of the voyage away! I'm glad I didn't, but I think I'm going to have to raise the stakes a little bit.If you can't find me before the cruise ends, I might just be forced to rid myself of poor Holly. She does seem quite attached to you, in fact, you should have seen her how she begged for you to help her back at that repulsively ugly underground fortress those Church dogs locked me in. It was really quite adorable.I wish you the very best of luck.Yours Truly,Lady Sophia Hildebrandt.'Your hands are trembling in a silent rage as you finish reading the note, once again this damn vampire has outmaneuvered you with ease! A simple oversight on your part has led to Holly being taken away by the vampire that forced her into her new life once more, to no doubt be mistreated yet again. But what's more is the almost pleasurable tone the note takes in describing what were no doubt the last moments of the human Holly's life.Grigori breathes out a cloud of smoke after drawing from his lit cigarette. "Yes, this is more in line with how vampires usually act." You look the assassin in the eye. "Before you ask, she was already gone when we got here, whether this vampire... this 'Sophia' was hiding her presence or watching us from afar, I can't say." After giving you a brief explanation, he begins gazing at nothing, lost in thought.
Turning to Alura, you quickly realize just how upset she is about all of this. "It may not have been much of a connection, but I actually liked the time I had speaking to Holly, Arthur. The girl is terribly naive and more than a little clumsy, but I felt as if she could've actually been a fun person to be around. It's... hard to explain, I suppose. What I can explain is what I'm going to do to this damn vampire when I get my hands on her. She'll be sorry she ever stepped foot on board this boat!" Alura seems content to just rage angrily for now. Did you underestimate how much she got on with Holly or something? This sort of reaction seems a tad extreme. Then again, Alura does seem to come to a conclusive opinion on somebody very quickly after meeting them. Now though, you need to decide how you will go about finding your missing ally, as well as the woman who is responsible for her suffering.>Immediately begin to search the deck above you. There are only so many places on board they could be hiding.>Regroup with Anna and Coller and create a proper plan of action.>Ask Grigori for his advice, this is why you let him live, after all. >Write-in...
>>4100102>Regroup with Anna and Coller and create a proper plan of action.Everyone should be on the same page, and having a proper search plan should speed up finding her.
>>4100102>Immediately begin to search the deck above you. There are only so many places on board they could be hiding.ADORABLE!This is great.
>>4100102>>Regroup with Anna and Coller and create a proper plan of action.Man this is why vampires are absolute bottom-tier waifus.
>>4100127>I don't want a waifu, because I just want Arthur to suffer>But if I did want one, it'd be someone strong-willed and capable>But not, like the strongest-willed, most capable person we've encountered! She's bottom-tier.Damn, you really are the bad opinion guy.
>>4100146>But not, like the strongest-willed, most capable person we've encountered! But that's Chaos, Anon.
>>4100146Crazy doesn't mean strong willed. We don't actually have any indication as to what kind of person she is as we haven't met her. So I guess I have bad opinions for not making uninformed decisions, sure. As for capable that's yet to be seen. So far she's done some parlor trick on an entire ship which is her best feat. But we don't know if that is actually super impressive or not. I mean every single Belmont after Trevor could pull the Grand Cross out of their ass. Is that impressive? Where do we draw the line in the sand, anon. Besides, vampires in general make for shit waifus. It's basically a rule.
>>4100102>>Regroup with Anna and Coller and create a proper plan of action.
>>4100361>Besides, vampires in general make for shit waifus. It's basically a rule. What an absolutely disgusting claim.
>>4100403The truth is often painful.
>>4100411>waifu taste>truthReal talk for a second, it's totally subjective, so that's bullshit. That said, I've never seen anybody slam vampires the way you've been. I don't know what board or community you're getting this "rule" from, but it's pretty ridiculous from my point of view. Then again, that's all your posts. I guess there's not much point engaging someone who's either trolling constantly or operating from a diametrically opposed viewpoint.
>>4100361>in generalThe exception to the rule, Alucard's sis herself.>>4100429You should have noticed since last thread that he never puts more thought into his arguments than he does into his dry witty remarks. Just treat him like every class clown, ignore him until he gets bored.
>>4100429It's true I shitpost a lot. But I also do actually put a lot of deliberation into my actual thoughts on any given matter. I will of course never show this and will instead shitpost instead. Interpret this as a "oohhh so mysterious and not actually retarded" if you want, I understand.>>4100438>ignore him until he gets bored. You underestimate my power, I've lived my entire life being ignored. It can't stop me any more. Also I just really like Castlevania, so yeah you're stuck with me. >alucard's sisNot with a face like that. She looks like one of her parents was an overripe pumpkin.
>>4100449>instead shitpost insteadDamn dude either I'm having a stroke or it's hotter in here than I thought. I guess I really should fuck off for now.
>>4100449>It can't stop me any moreOh boy, you should know by now that life finds a way.>overripe pumpkinSee, this is what I'm talking about. Much sass to say absolutely nothing.
>>4100438>exception to shit waifus>3DCGDamn, anon, have you had your eyes checked lately?
>>4100449>>4100456I don't think your ideas are bad anon, I just disagree with your proposed and actual application of them most of the time :)
>>4100102>Immediately begin to search the deck above you. There are only so many places on board they could be hiding.Give her back!
>>4100120>ADORABLE!I'm... glad you like the arc villain.>>4100127>>4100361>vampires are absolute bottom-tier waifus. For taking back their property?>Besides, vampires in general make for shit waifus. It's basically a rule. That really depends on whether the vampire actually respects you and cares for you or if they consider you a personal bloodbag.Arthur is one of a small number of people who could actually gain said respect.>every single Belmont after Trevor could pull the Grand Cross out of their ass. Is that impressive? The Grand Cross is impressive though, especially Julius' which nearly made the entire Demon Castle fall apart and created a gravity well. When he was holding back.>>4100299Using Chaos as an example is kind of cheating. Like pulling an actual gun when you're playing Rock Paper Scissors.>>4100438>Alucard's sis herself.Alucard doesn't have a sister, best you could do is maybe get a doppelganger to turn into a female Alucard or something. Why you would force a poor Doppelganger to do this, I don't know.Or you can resurrect his cousin Elizabeth Bathory, I suppose.
>>4100787>I'm... glad you like the arc villain. What's not to like? She's obviously just playing around with us. It's just a game. Anyway, if we seduce her, we get Holly as a bonus maid/mistress!>confirming we can make her fall for usYesssssss>JuliusBut is he stronger than Richter? Also, can't Belmonts stop time with the stopwatch?Shit, can't Alucard?Does anybody have any plans for Alucard going all DIO on us?>doppelganger waifuIf we get a doppelganger, we are making it the host to Chaos first off.Doppelgangers are bullshit level useful like when Dmitrii replaced his body with one.We should keep a Doppelganger to transfer our soul into if we ever die.
>>4100102>Regroup with Anna and Coller and create a proper plan of action.
>>4100831>But is he stronger than Richter?Yes.>Also, can't Belmonts stop time with the stopwatch?Only works on weaker enemies. We're easily at least an early boss.
>>4100841I'm just going to say that Soma needed Galamoth's soul to be immune to timestop.Game balance reasons aside, timestop is one of those gamebreaker powers where there's almost no counter possible.Even limited to the five seconds he has, Alucard is more than fast enough to make tremendous use of it.He can also teleport and use all kinds of magic.Imagine DIO's World but even more broken.
>>4100787Oh yeah, I've always wondered how Dracula just so happened to have a never-seen-before niece that's also a vampire. Did Mathias had any siblings? Did Elisabetha/Lisa? Was she turned a vampire by Dracula or by someone else or somehow by herself? Of course, this is Castlevania so we are never gonna elaborate on anything.
>>4100956Fairly certain that Bathory only called herself Dracula's Niece as a title ie 'death's daughter'
>>4100922>Alucard fight will be DIO fightBut that's Zephyr's job!>>4100956Maybe she's adopted? Or maybe Dracula turned somebody and referred to them as a sibling who went on to turn her?How does she exist?>>4100971It's a kinda lame title though.
>>4100787>I'm... glad you like the arc villain.Unlike a certain someone, she actually behaves like a proper vampire. This is a great beginning; next step is to shock her into reevaluating the way she regards Arthur and coming to respect him.
>>4101156You better lay off the Holly bullying. She's obviously a best girl candidate.
>>4100787>For taking back their property?Damn bro even I wouldn't go so far as to say Holly is so subhuman now that she's property-tier. Way to be a dick. But no, Hildebat is bottom-tier because she's behaving like a child. And because of that now our entire sample size of vamps act like children.
>>4101219>bottom-tier because she's behaving like a childSo you not only have a previously established prejudice against ojous, you also fail to perceive the cuteness of whimsical behavior? The only thing bottom-tier is your taste.
>>4101156>shock her into reevaluating the way she regards Arthur and coming to respect himYes but the "invite to bed" thing WHEN?!>>4101177Speaking of Best Girl Candidates, we should look into getting Arthur to be able to nighttime chat with Chaos and not timeskip like 3 fucking days magically for like no fucking reason.
>>4101248>whimsical behavior?Nono wind fairy is whimsical. Adult-child-pire stated "You were playing with my toy and she liked that more than when I play with them so I'm going to hurt her". Five year olds do that. And maladjusted ones to boot. P.S. stiff-breeze-sprite isn't that cute either.
>>4101252When we've actually established a relationship! How many times must this be explained to you?>>4101177>Holly a best girl candidate>When Chaos, Hildebrandt, and Anna are all thereBah!>>4101258We get it, you can't perceive cuteness or read character motivation between the lines. You have my sympathies for your disability.
>>4101264>We get itClearly you don't. But that's fine. It's why I'm here.
>>4101282Hey man I'm just advocating for more time with Chaos in a manner that does not consume literal days of Arthur's time in the waking world. Is that too much to ask?
>>4101290There are ways to find out how you can do that.Or why it happened. You're very lucky Chaos cared enough not to send you back to the exact location you were before.
>>4101282Hey, we could all be having a good time if greenon didn't feel the need to go around insulting lovable characters.
>>4101300Anon you can love anything you like. There's a guy out there who loves his pet rock. It's still a rock though.
>>4101302Case in point. You just can't stop fucking with people.
>>4101307>You just can't stop fucking with people.Anon if you didn't want to play you wouldn't have fished for it.
If there's one thing Harmony of Despair is good for it's that it's nice being able to see entire sections of the castle at once.It puts into scale just how huge the castle is.
>>4101323The Gorgoroth fight where he drops you some couple hundred feet is pretty cool. Some of the dual crushes were pretty snazzy, too.
listenListenLISTENWe're going to be the dark lord.We don't need to settle on one girl.Be it servants or waifus, we're going to get them ALL.Anything else is unnaceptable. Now stop bickering and focus on the task at hand. You can't make a harem if you're too busy insulting people!
>>4101354>You can't make a harem if you're too busy insulting people!Harems and haremfags are absolute zero tier. The lowest of the low.
>>4101366Silence!>>4101354What if we simply turn every girl that likes Arthur into vampires?Coller need not apply.
>>4101366Self-proclaimed sufferingboo has absolutely no right to insult anyone's desire for happiness. A harem isn't a great ending, but it's far better than what you're pulling for.
>>4101366young one, it is not the harem that is at fault, but the idiocy of most harem masters. We will not go down this path. Personally, I blame shit harem animes for it. Again, not what we're doing. Our harem will be a sight to behold!>>4101377We...aren't even a vampire ourselves. I guess it would be useful but we'd at least need the ability to turn them into greater vampires that don't get fried by the sun, or bypass that immunity using chaos.
>>4101411>We will not go down this path.Maybe you would try to avoid it. But I cannot in good faith have hope for any group of people controlling a singular entity. As the saying goes "none of us are as dumb as all of us".
>>4101465I'll still do my best. If I can succeed, great. If I fail, eh, there's always next time. You can always support me when the time is right, since 2>1. I'll do the same if I recognize your posts.
>>4101503>>4101465Look guys, I don't really care about this argument vendetta whatever the fuck you two have going. I'm gonna ultimately have Arthur go for Chaos first, Alura second.
>>4101508I'm going to husbando Julius.
>>4101508Our goals are intertwined. Join us. Only in unity can we stand a chance.
>>4100102I'm actually mad, Holly does NOT deserve this.So I'm gonna go with>Immediately begin to search the deck above you. There are only so many places on board they could be hiding.I do have a plan to draw her out though>Try to use the Power of Destruction to make a large explosion outside of the ship, test the extent of Grigori's idea of everyone being currently charmed. If this breaks the spell, good. We have a mass panic to deal with and judging by Holly's behavior then if Hilde is somewhere in disguise they would at the very least be somewhat "Off" in pretending to panic. If it doesn't, then clearly we can go as ham as we want to looking for her. It's time to show the local Vampire why you do NOT fuck with a Dark Lord Candidate.
>>4101549dude, why waste the power of destruction when we have a guy who can literally make an iceberg
>>4101508>>4101537I'll agree with going after Chaos, but I think we should table all interaction with her until we're in a somewhat stable situation, stable enough we can disappear for a few days. Even if we figure out why we were displaced a few days during our conversation we'll still need to implement whatever solution we find, and since we're not likely to find a library with books about time displacement anytime soon, and we're not going to reveal our trysts with chaos, the most likely solution will be found by going to her directly and asking. So I propose we wring Dracula for information first before going to meet chaos, since we could find out what happened to his castle, and possibly how he died and what he's doing inside our soul, and that information, particularly about his castle, should endear her to us even if we're not worthy of being the Dark Lord to her just yet. And then she might explain about our ability, and the limitations and drawbacks that have become such a pain to speculate about. Then we might be able to conspire about claiming drac's castle early by asking her about starting eclipses manually.
"We should go back to my cabin before we do anything else, without getting a proper plan of action together, there's simply no point in just wandering around and hoping to come across our target. Not unless she feels like making a physical appearance to one of us, at least. Besides, we'll need to inform Anna and Coller of what has happened" If you don't have everyone working together with a plan, then your chances of finding anything at all are fairly low. Not to mention that everyone looks like they could use a bit of a break right now."It's better to actually have a plan instead of simply wandering around. I can attest to this personally." Grigori tosses away his cigarette as he begins to follow you back to the upper decks to your cabin. Alura doesn't say a word as she follows, it's probably not wise to disturb her right now. She seems to have taken Holly being snatched away quite hard. The trip back to your cabin feels like a long one. It's made in complete silence, even Mistral can read the mood. Abject failure. Not only did you not manage to find the vampire causing you so many problems, but you also found that she had even involved poor Holly in this twisted game they seem to want to play with you. Even going so far as to strip the girl of her humanity forever, forcing her into the role of some sort of servant, or slave. You couldn't even prevent Holly's tormentor from taking her back, a single misstep allowing for her kidnap. After what feels like almost an hour of walking in silence, you arrive back at your cabin. A brief knock on the cabin opposite confirms that Anna has yet to return, unfortunate. You quickly go to retrieve the key from your inner pocket, only to have it handed to you by Mistral instead, saving you the effort. "Thank you, Mistral." The sylph quickly vanishes back into one of your pockets without a word.Turning the key and opening the door, you step inside the room, vines hang freely from the ceiling and all manner of different flowers have sprouted up , covering over half the room in foliage. Thankfully, there's a dining table that hasn't been touched by the flowery overgrowth. Alura looks somewhat unapologetic as to the state of the room as the three of you sit down on the fairly expensive looking chairs."While we wait for my other two allies to return from their attempt, we may as well discuss our next step." Let's see what plans your allies have in order to find this elusive vampire that you are sharing a ship with.
Alura quickly speaks up. Enthusiastic again for the first time since Holly was taken, though her enthusiasm is offset by her eyes, cold with hatred. "I refrained from doing so while you were... gone, but if you were to give me the permission to feed on the people of this ship without restraint, I'm confident I could use them to facilitate the growth of a vast system of vines to observe the movements of all the passengers left. A few hundred should probably be enough." Alura then lounges on her chair, emanating an aura of smugness at what she obviously believes to be a flawless plan. There is one question that her apparent ability to consume hundreds of people brings immediately to mind. "If you are capable of doing something like that, then why didn't you do so earlier, with the frozen passengers in that canteen?" Alura scoffs. "Do you believe me some sort of scavenger? Forced to rely on carrion for sustenance? It's a matter of pride, Arthur. I simply couldn't bring myself to feed on prey slain by an inferior." It's a strange thought process, but it does seem as if Alura has quite an odd sense of pride. Almost as odd as her preference in food.Grigori coughs loudly to draw your attention from Alura. "Yes, or if you don't want to condemn half the ship to being plant food, we can do things the logical way. There's cameras in nearly every corridor aboard this ship. All we need to do is find the security room and we'll be able to use the recorded footage to our advantage. We have a location and a rough time as to when she'll appear and take your friend away. Then we'll have an appearance at least." Grigori does raise a good point, and odds are that it's highly unlikely that 'Lady Hildebrandt' is aware of the power of modern surveillance, so you may be able to totally blindside her!>Go with Alura's plan.>Go with Grigori's plan.>Wait for Anna and Coller to arrive to see if they have anything to add.>Come up with your own plan (Write-in what).>Write-in...
>>4101886>Let's delay that for 1 action and meditate to reach Drac. If anyone knows about vampires and their weaknesses it's him.
>>4101886sure why not, try this >>4101906if it doesn't help reach Drac it might help Arthur's mental state as it is
>>4101886>Go with Grigori's plan.Anna and Coller's plan was just to walk around the ship so far, so i don't see why they'd have suddenly come up with a better plan. And Alura's plan would necessitate the sinking of the ship so that's nixed. My concern is the laptop in the room when we originally encountered Hildebrant. It was probably being used by Holly to teach Hilda about modern tech, but I don't think she'd have internalized just how complete modern surveillance systems have become so I believe there should be a shot at this one.>>4101906>>4101917We tried that in the car and it didn't work. Besides, he might just laugh at us for relying on superiors to do everything for us. He already helped us survive the initial encounter with the head alchemist where we were about to die, why would he go out of his way to help here, when we aren't in any threat of immediate death?
>>4101886Fine then! changing my vote from >>4101917 to>Go with Grigori's plan. Also this lines up nicely with Arthur's prior musing to himself about the security systems and the cameras on the ship, doesn't it? This a plot thread we are also going after, then?>>4101920Yeah you're right. I guess naturally sleeping and going into the dream world place is the best way to chat with Dracula.
>>4101886>>Go with Grigori's plan.>>4101906>Vampire weaknesses 101Sun, Stake in the heart, Holy Weapons, Holy Water, Stronger dudes kicking their shit in, little girls, ninjas, their own power used against them.Honestly, the list is huge.
>>4101886>>Go with Grigori's plan.We need to wipe out the records to clean our tracks so that's two birds with one stone.
>>4101886>Combine Alura's and Grigori's plansThese aren't mutually exclusive, and modern recording devices aren't exactly reliable when it comes to picking up the supernatural. There wouldn't be much of a hidden world if they were. What I specifically mean is that we should >Set Alura to establishing her surveillance system for watching what's going on now, while using Grigori's idea to review footage of what's already happened.
>>4102109why>combine alura and grigori's planswhen we can>combine alura and grigori
>>4102283>combine alura and grigori>can make literal iceberg lettuce
>>4101886>Wait for Anna and Coller to arrive to see if they have anything to add.Why the heck are we just asking them when we're doing a rendezvous anyways? It's pretty much missing the forest for the trees.>>4101640I suggested it because it's a showcase of our own power rather then someone else's. One slightly low yield explosion causing a mass panic would also be less lethal to the entire ship compared to a iceberg.
>>4102779I'd much rather use our power to just fucking erase Hildebrant the moment she reveals herself. Of course the people who want to waifu her wouldn't let me do that, so I've made compromises.Anyway, unlike our allies, our power actually has major effects on us. We really need to talk to either Drac or Chaos and find out what the fuck it's doing to us before we go using it willy-nilly.
>>4102817Well yeah. That's why I suggested only one explosion. It's much different compared to the scenario of purging all of the corpses. One shot like that should tire us out a bit without fainting and we would also have enough time to recover too.In short, it's the perfect opportunity to demonstrate, practice, make a massive panic and search for Hilde in one fell swoop if it goes perfectly, and even if it doesn't cause said massive panic then we can go as crazy as possible in seeking them out.
>>4102822Oh so you meant like a tiny one. My apologies, I assumed you meant something more major. The word explosion tends to lead to such assumptions.Very well, I shall support you.
>>4101886>Go with Grigori's plan.Alura is one hell of an autistic plant.
>>4102817>use our power to just fucking erase Hildebrant the moment she reveals herself. Don't you at least want to know her motives? That sounds incredibly harsh.>>4102822An explosion made with the power of destruction might be...Higher yield than you intend. You might want to be careful with that.>>4102283The Power of Fusion will not be featuring in this quest.
>>4103009>that imageI KNEW ITWE SHOULD HAVE GONE WITH THE BED INVITE MEME OPTION
>>4103009Im actually curious, what WOULD have happened if we invited her to bed?
>>4103050She would've found your continued enthusiasm towards meeting her very endearing. The audacity of trying to invite her to bed not so much.Really, a better idea would've been to offer to have tea with her or something.Pic unrelated.
>>4103055You would've ended up immediately blacking out and finding yourself suffering from fairly extreme blood loss when you came to.
>>4103009>The Power of Fusion will not be featuring in this questIt's just a cheap tactic anyway.
>>4103062You just had to remind me of one of the few good things that series had and now I'm sad.
>>4103056>She would've found your continued enthusiasm towards meeting her very endearing.See, this is why we should be looking for her alone.
>>4103009Honestly it's a question on how far away the explosion should be if we go for that option.Accidentally starting a war between countries is a acceptable price to saving one of our allies.>>4103074People keep thinking with their schlongs, that route would've been risky. See >>4103050
>>4103079I keep saying this, but there's a world of difference between trying to make an authentic personal connection and rushing after sex like a hormone-addled lunatic....then again, I think your explosion concept is absolute mania guaranteed to fuck us over, so we apparently have different priorities.
>>4103079Do you know how much energy is released from a gram of antimatter reacting with a gram of matter? To prevent you from killing yourself, I'm just going to say that using the Power of Destruction to create an explosion would be something equivalent to an Anti-Matter Reaction.
>>4103081>I keep saying this, but there's a world of difference between trying to make an authentic personal connection and rushing after sex like a hormone-addled lunatic.Yes of course, but does that mean everyone who wants to pursue her alone is doing so because they want to be fwends or because they want to fuck their waifu? Or perhaps they would vote "ay bby u want sum fuk" as a joke just because? Maybe they'd do it just to try and get her to let her guard down so they could cheapshot her. People are unpredictable. But it's a waifu so of course people are going to make bad decisions no matter what.
>>4103121Honestly, the waifu who mostly seems to be driving the bad decisions at the moment is Holly. Baffling, I tell you.
>>4103129She still has that "damsel in distress" energy going for her despite the inhuman monster bit. Anons seem to have a strange propensity for saving things.
>>4103139I'd say it's more like "I take pity on you because it's pretty much my fault you ended up like this"At least in my case.
>>4103139Eh. I never got the appeal of damsels. Give me the sorceress looking to sacrifice her every time; hence my defense of Hildebrandt. As I've said, she's capable enough to be a far more valuable ally if we can win her over, and from all we've seen she has a far more charming personality as well.>>4103144Guilt ill suits a would-be Dark Lord.
>>4103148Holly could probably be made far more loyal in the end though. But it's a very unfair comparison in terms of capability, a fledgling compared to a centennial so that's true.
>>4103092Well uh.. darn. And here I thought I was actually being clever.Guess we need another method of making some form of mass panic.>>4103148It's less of a damsel and distress appeal and more of a "Sort of on the same boat" appeal for me. Pun intended.
>>4103148>Guilt ill suits a would-be Dark Lord. This whole Dark Lord stuff has been blown out of proportion anyways, Dracula never achieved shit so Chaos will have to conform with what she gets, and if feeling guilt isn't in the guidelines then too bad.>>4103156Holly also might develop faster having old master of the night to learn from, but that would mean making her spend time with her abuser so I'd say fuck that.
>>4103092>Do you know how much energy is released from a gram of antimatter reacting with a gram of matter? If you mean 1 gram total including actual matter it's about a half a kiloton of TNT. If you meant 1 gram of antimatter and 1 gram of matter you'd just double it so around a kiloton of TNT. It's like .4 kilotons for a half anti/matter explosion.
>>4103208Or I'm retarded and I halved it all for no reason. I'm not a physicist.

What about Chaos? >how to train your vampireIt won't stop bringing stray orphans it killed into the house. Dracula please advise.
>>4103424What about Coller? I'm thinking she would have punched our head off but mostly because we were attacking the mansion at the time.
>>4103481I think Alura would be more like "Lets talk about this once you're as strong as me."I feel like Chaos would've had a laughing fit then tortured our soul until she got bored before evaporating us from existence for being so impudent.
While Alura seems very confident in her proposed plan, and you don't doubt that it will work. The sacrifice for actually having it bear fruit is simply too great to immediately resort to it as your first plan. Sanctioning the mass deaths of innocents is simply too much for you to approve of doing unless you truly run out of other options. Besides, Grigori's plan to check the video footage is one with quite a few positives to it. If all goes well, not only will you be able to find out where this vampire has taken Holly, but you'll also be able to erase the security footage at the same time. Of course, this does mean having to refuse Alura's plan, even though she seemed so pleased about coming up with it."Alura, while your plan sounds effective, it's also something that I'd like to keep as a last resort. That many disappearances would almost definitely end up requiring us to sink this entire ship and make the last leg of our voyage in an uncomfortable lifeboat." Hopefully, you can appeal to her sense of luxury. "You're going with this 'security room' plan instead, I take it? A pity, but I do suppose I shouldn't overindulge in humans, it might end up ruining the taste for good, and I wouldn't want that." You really wish she'd stop talking about humans, of which you are one, as if they were food. It's just so tremendously off-putting to hear your own species referred to as food continually by this deceptively monstrous woman. There's no doubt that despite her beauty and her apparent loyalty to you, this woman is in truth a terrible monster."Oh yes, I'm sure it would just be dreadful. Whatever would you do then? Maybe start demanding the blood of virgin maidens?" Grigori can barely hide the disgust in his voice as he speaks out, clearly annoyed at Alura's continued behavior."Maybe. Or maybe I'll only drink the blood of children?" Alura responds to the man in a mocking tone, before an evil grin shows on her face. "Or perhaps I'll only consume the blood of magicians? They must be good for something, after all." She smirks as Grigori scowls, before his expression quickly returns to a neutral one."I shouldn't waste my time. Arthur, it is good you see the logic in my suggestion. Perhaps we will be able to properly work with each other after all, yes? Though if we're going to go with my plan, we had best not waste time. The security room isn't going anywhere, but for every moment that passes, your friend is with her kidnapper for just that much longer." Grigori does a perfect job now of totally ignoring Alura's presence within the room at all."Of course, where exactly is this security room anyway?" Grigori hopefully already has the information you need for this plan, otherwise you're going to have to simply use trial and error. It's not like you can just ask somebody to tell you either.
"Bottom floor. Restricted. Though that shouldn't pose a problem to men like us, no?" Grigori then inspects his tattered clothing. "Though I suppose it would probably be better to change into my spare uniform. Unfortunately, this one is going to need some repairs, and I'm fairly low on energy. It shouldn't be any longer than an hour and a half before I'm back and ready to go." With that, Grigori makes a rather hasty move towards the door.>Stop him, tell him that you don't trust him not to disappear and that you'll go with him.>Let him leave, this preparation time actually gives you the opportunity to go and get something to eat.>Let him leave and wait for Anna to return before heading anywhere.>Write-in...

>>4105195do you not into time travel
>>4105197We don't know if it was time travel or not. Time travel is extremely rare in castlevania and causes the time police to show up and hold fighting tournaments where everyone is dressed extremely poorly. And since we haven't seen anyone wearing an outfit made entirely out of belts yet, I doubt it was time travel.
>>4105200dude we got abducted into a space that doesn't follow physical laws, then got teleported across almost unfathomable distances into a place close to where we used to be. Saying that it's rare doesn't mean this wasn't an occasion where it occurred, especially when the facilitator is the second most powerful being behind god himself.
>>4105205That still doesn't make it time travel. It just means the laws of time in the chaos realm are fucky. At which point we should still get something to eat, because who knows what that did to our stomach.
>>4105210>thinking time travel is just going backward in timesmhtbqhfamalam
>>4105211Okay yes, from a very broad definition involving massive faggotry, we are time traveling right now because we are moving through time. However, time dilation is not time travel. At best it's temporal manipulation, however even that didn't happen if it's just the Chaos Realm's natural laws at work. If the Chaos Realm decides that one minute equals a year one second and one minute equals one minute the next, that's not time travel, that's just the Chaos Realm being fucky.
>>4105200>Time travel is extremely rare in castlevania>tfw like 70% of everything in castlevania only works if you explain it with time travelWall chicken can't stay fresh forever on its on.
>>4105219>going from october 9th to october 13th isn't time travel because it was facilitated by the laws of the chaotic realm.wat. all time travel is achieved by manipulation of existing laws. Just because the place may appear to be inconsistent with rules like that doesn't make what happened not time travel.
>>4105226That's Chaos Realm fuckery. >>4105227>One day in the Chaos Realm equals three days outside. >We still spent three days in the Chaos Realm, it was just one Chaos Realm day. This is not time travel, this is barely time dilation. At most it's temporal desynchronization.Calling this time travel is using the same definition that faggots use to call living from the 24th of Oct to the 25th of Oct because you're moving through time.
>>4105200>>4105205>>4105210>>4105211>>4105219>>4105227Shut up! Whether or not this is *technically* time travel is completely beside the point! We don't remember three days passing in the chaotic realm and have no gaps in our memory, so Arthur's brain only experienced a short time passing there. Since we have no reason to assume one part of his body was affected differently by the chaotic realm than another, it's reasonable to assume that Arthur's stomach experienced the same amount of time as his brain.Consequently, he's only experiencing the results of fasting for one day, not three! How the time was condensed doesn't matter! More importantly, let's not let the professional assassin have a chance to spend some time alone with his disguise kit and slip into the crowd!
>>4105236>That's Chaos Realm fuckery. That doesn't change what it is. Stop being pedantic.
>>4105236Yes we're all time travelers by definition of existing to be able to experience time flowing. Being frozen and woken up 2000 years into the future is time traveling, as is the situation arthur experienced.>>4105240Now why would he do that just before we're about to go to the security room? We could follow the recordings of his trail to and from his room, any disguise would be useless, and he's on the run from cultists now anyway and could use the help we could provide.
>>4105244That is exactly what it is. Like I said, time travel in castlevania is a specific thing. As far as I know, there are only three instances of straight up time travel in castlevania. >>4105248>Yes we're all time travelers by definition of existing to be able to experience time flowing.Good thing that's not how Castlevania defines time travel then, or we'd have Aeon up our ass right now. Eh?
>>4105248If he's as familiar with the security system as he seems to be, I don't doubt he has a way of avoiding their detection. He was here to kill someone, after all.As for why he'd want to avoid us, why don't you ask the man-eating plant girl who took his arm off? From his perspective, we're not much better than the cultists.
>>4105259>If he's as familiar with the security system as he seems to be, I don't doubt he has a way of avoiding their detection. He makes his victims look like they had heart attacks with magic that probably doesn't need close contact, just visual contact. He could just wait for him to get something to eat then kill him, no hiding from cameras needed.>From his perspective, we're not much better than the cultists. The cultists who would kill him just cause he failed, vs the guy who stopped the plant from killing him because he seemed useful enough?
>>4105269>The cultists who would kill him just cause he failed, vs the guy who stopped the plant from killing him because he seemed useful enoughRead that back, anon, it's the same metric and reward/punishment system in both cases (from his point of view). We're not even paying him.
>>4105272The cultists already want him dead though. So far Arthur stopped him from dying and possibly from creating an irreconcilable grudge with us, then helped to clean a mess he was partially responsible for. I feel like his encounter with Alura was because he thought she was the one who eliminated his target, so it could've been his mistake from the start.
>>4105280Look, I'm not saying we'll never be able to trust him. We have a decent start. I don't think we can trust him yet, though, and in his position I think the wisest course would look like staying out of our mess as well as trying to avoid the cultists. If we want his services, we've got to keep an eye on him.
>>4105283Well to each their own but I don't mind either way, since we could just frame him if he betrays us so I see the trade off as more firepower/informant, or a distraction for the Church. It's not like we couldn't search for him if he goes missing to finish Alura's job though.
"Hold on a moment, Grigori." The man stops in his tracks. "I'll go with you. I'm sorry, but I don't quite trust you enough to not take this as your opportunity to just slip away and disappear." It's a valid concern, there's nothing really guaranteeing this man's loyalty to you, so taking the chance of just allowing him to go back to his cabin would be an oversight you can't just allow to happen.Grigori sighs "Fine, it's not as if you have any reason to trust me. It's probably smarter of you to not allow me out of your sight. This work relationship would be far easier if you could learn to trust me though." He begins walking out of the room, with you following close behind. Alura remains seated."You aren't coming with us, Alura?" It seems somewhat unlike her to just allow you to go off with somebody who could easily turn out to be an enemy still. "Arthur, you're more than strong enough to deal with the likes of him should he attempt some pathetic act of defiance, especially with that arm of his like that. Besides, I have something special planned for him should he step out of line." The evil grin directed at the man behind you is a chilling one. You don't really want to consider whatever fate worse than death Alura has planned for Grigori should he actually betray you. "Though I might normally come with you, I have something that I desperately need to attend to. In private." You wonder what she means.Grigori ignores Alura and simply leaves the room, keeping the door open, he waits in the corridor for you to catch up. "Well, alright. I'll see you later then, Alura. Take care." She gives you a much more genuine happy smile compared to the evil one she directed towards the newest member of your merry band as you leave. Grigori seems to let out a breath of relief as the door closes behind you before turning to you. "Honestly, how do you cope with all this? Vampires are one thing, but that plant woman? She doesn't exactly try to hide her hatred of humanity. Even in my line of work, monsters like her are hunted down and disposed of. God help them if the Church takes an interest in them." You dislike the way he's talking about Alura, but honestly, she has been getting a little too enthusiastic about killing humans recently. You might have to have a word with her about this later on, Dark Lord Candidacy aside, you don't really want her turning into a liability that consumes humans by the hundreds. "Mostly by only looking forwards and never looking back. You know, Just a few days ago I was living a perfectly normal life until it all collapsed around me." You just hope the accumulated stress doesn't overwhelm you at some point. "Apparently, me being some sort of Dark Lord Candidate has led to all sorts of characters taking an interest in me including the Church, and most likely it's the reason as to why this vampire is bothering us in the first place."
"So, there's more to this story of being the Dark Lord than just a baseless boast? Interesting." Grigori stops in front of an elevator and presses the call button. "What exactly is a 'Dark Lord Candidate' then?"You don't want to reveal too much to the man, you get the feeling that things are dangerous enough as it is just mentioning your candidacy. Also if that vampire is observing you right now, who knows how they might respond to your knowledge of Chaos' existence. Especially if they themselves are unaware of it. "Apparently, it's somebody that can become the next Dark Lord, after Dracula was killed for good, the position became vacant." As you finish speaking, the Elevator arrives. A husband, wife and her two sons leave the elevator before you and Grigori step inside. Grigori presses the button to take the two of you to the second floor."An interesting story, but I'm not sure I believe it. I've heard enough tall tales from people in the past to know to reserve my judgment on this one. I'll believe it when I see it." Fair enough, you suppose. If Dracula was anywhere near as powerful as people seem to believe, then somebody going around mentioning they are some sort of heir to him would obviously sound like they are merely trying to sound more powerful and intimidating than they actually are. Still, the implication that you're lying does sting a little."Believe me if you wish, but the Dorin Organization seemed to think it true enough that they've been observing me from a very young age. I mean, I'm technically a probationary recruit, I think. Or at least I was." Grigori's eyes seem to widen a little at the mention of Shirley's group. You have to wonder just how they have such a fearsome repuation. It certainly isn't helped in your eyes by Shirley being your sole exposure to the group. The girl, while obviously strong, never really gave you the impression that she was some sort of merciless killer of a special forces group. But maybe she was just that good at hiding her true face? It matters little now. You doubt you'll be able to see eye to eye with the girl that lied to you for all your life ever again."Like I said, I'll reserve my judgment on it. Give me a reason to believe it and I will." With that, the elevator finishes it's descent, opening up to the second floor of the cruise ship as Grigori sets off down the corridor once again, leaving you to follow him."Why do you need a change of clothes anyway? Is it really so crucial that you'd have to put things off to do so?" You know that appearances matter, but at the end of the day, it's not like he's going to attend a high profile party, so his clothing should be able to safely remain as tattered as it is now. Though thinking of tattered clothing, you find yourself feeling grateful about Alura's gift to you. This suit she made for you is really quite wondrous. At least you won't have to worry about your appearance in the future too much as long as you keep ahold of it.
"My robe was enchanted with a protective magecraft that reduced some of the damage I took in my fight with... Alura, as well as enhance my own control over ice. But with it as damaged as it is, the enchantments have mostly fallen apart. It's a miracle that it protected me enough that the last attack she managed to get on me only broke my arm and didn't bisect me totally." Sounds like Alura really doesn't mess around when things actually call for her to get serious. "So, I'm going to get both my spare robe and see about fixing my arm, only an idiot would bring a single potion with him for any mission." Finishing speaking, you arrive at door 2-A5. He doesn't actually bother with a key at all, placing a finger to the lock, a key made of ice forms in the hole, turning on it's own as he pushes the door open before it shatters into nothingness. Seems Grigori is something of a show-off.You step into the rather basic looking room, Grigori quickly takes his robe off and places it on a coathook, leaving him in his black tunic. For the first time, you catch a glimpse of the weapon he was reaching for against Alura. Clearly some sort of sword, though the scabbard of the blade seems to be made of carves ice, so you can't see the sword itself. "Now, hold on a moment, my other robe is in my bedroom. I shouldn't take more than a minute to change, so if you wouldn't mind staying here while I do, that would be for the best." While you don't exactly want to let Grigori have an opportunity to slip away, you don't want to be forced to watch a man change out of his clothing very much either, so you reluctantly give him the go-ahead. "Very well, I hope you aren't foolish enough to try to use this as an opportunity to run." You would have no qualms with giving him to Alura should he betray you so quickly."Where would I run to on this accursed ship anyway?" He mutters as he leaves the room for his bedroom, leaving you alone in the small room he's rented, you take a moment to look about the room. On a small dresser are 3 flasks of blue liquid, identical to the one that Alura crushed underfoot. Potions of some sort? You wonder if he intends to use them restore his broken arm. In a corner of the room is a black luggage bag, it's contents a mystery to you unless you search through it.>Take the potions from the dresser, he still hasn't suffered enough for what he did to Alura.>Search through the luggage bag, see what exactly an assassin considers important for a cruise.>Simply wait for Grigori to finish changing.>Wait for a minute before entering after Grigori, you don't trust him at all.>Write-in...

>Simply wait for Grigori to finish changing. There is reasonable paranoia and then there is stupid levels of paranoia. Also please don't steal from our new ally.
There shouldn't be a problem with trusting your new ally to get changed by himself. There's a reasonable level of scrutiny that you should exercise when dealing with a potential disloyal new underling. Watching them while they change on the off-chance they could be plotting some grand escape attempt crosses the line from reasonable to unreasonable. Regardless, if he did attempt an escape, then Alura would simply be able to locate him with that plant network she wants to set up. Unless he flees the ship entirely and strands himself in the middle of the ocean, he's kind of stuck here. You take another glance around the room. The potions just sitting on the dresser look inviting, but you decide against taking them. You can always just ask Grigori for one of them, and he'd be much more useful to you if you actually allowed him to heal his broken arm, even if doing so makes him more of a risk also. You're confident that should he actually try to backstab you, the Power of Destruction would make quick work of both him and that ice magic of his. A few minutes pass, and you begin to get a little bit suspicious. How long does it take to put on a new robe? Just as your suspicion begins to grow to an uncomfortable level, Grigori walks back out of the room, changed completely into a new outfit. The tunic he was wearing is replaced by a one identical in design, yet in far better condition. While his previously white robe has been replaced by one of a black shade. "Thank you for waiting." His eyes shift over to the potions still standing on the counter. "...And for not getting any ideas about those potions. Those things aren't cheap, and I'll need a few to fix this arm of mine." "Oh? Just one wouldn't be enough?" You were under the impression that he would've been fine simply by drinking a single one of those potions."Not at all with those potions, between the multiple fractures, dislocations and ruptured muscles, I'll need at least a few to fix it properly." He grabs one of the flasks and downs the entire contents. "Though just this one will help with the pain. Honestly, it's a good thing I have a good supplier for these, for all of it's advances, modern medicine would likely call my arm a lost cause and suggest amputation." A supplier? This supplier might come in quite useful in the future, potions that are beyond the limits of modern medicine sound very useful, even with Alura's own ability to heal you. "Things would be far easier if I brought a more powerful potion with me, but these things happen." "So, how much do these potions cost you anyway?" It's something that you ought to find out for the future. Such items could be highly useful to you.
"About twenty thousand of your dollars for one like these, they aren't exactly cheap, but they do their job." You try to keep the surprise off your face, it seems that the magical underworld has a fairly high price barrier to it. Unless you managed to somehow become the sole inheritor of your families fortune, you doubt you'll be buying them with legitimately acquired money any time soon. "But enough about this, we should get going. I wanted to give the potion more time to set in, but while you're here, we may as well not waste any time.">"Actually, before we set off, I have an ally that might be useful for us to take on this errand." >>4106125>"First off, I should really get something to eat, I haven't eaten since yesterday morning and I promised Mistral I'd get her something."Can't go kill vampires on an empty stomach.I wonder what sort of loot we'll get from killing Hildebrando.I don't like her attitude. Arthur can do better than an arrogant corpse, I think.
>>4106160I wonder what kind of loot we'd get from killing you.
>>4106170Probably about 20 years.
>>4106160>I wonder what sort of loot we'll get from killing Hildebrando.Probably something good. She seems fairly fucking useless. At the very least we'd get one of those power up orbs.
>>4106160>HildebrandoDamn how'd she get a road roller on the ship?
>>4106125>"First off, I should really get something to eat, I haven't eaten since yesterday morning and I promised Mistral I'd get her something."Yeah where's the grub?
>>4106139>I'm going to vote to dunk her in some coffee. Why must you bully poor Mistral? She only wants to try human food and is really doing Arthur a favour in making him remember that he actually needs to eat too.>>4106139You could probably have her create brand new orchids and the like to sell for however much you can get away with.Failing that, you can always just have her produce a literal ton of high quality saffron which would be worth a few million.Or just sell magical plants.I probably shouldn't be giving you ideas.>>4106160>>4106170Now, this is quite a hostile atmosphere. You shouldn't really expect much in the way of physical loot if you go the route of actually attempting to kill Hildebrandt. She has only just been freed, after all, it's not like she's sitting on a treasure hoard.>>4106217She'll have to make do with a life boat.
>>4106298Is there anything like Diablerie in Castlevania?
>>4106304Considering that's a catchall noun referring to black magic in general, we know for a fact there is.
>>4106314Ok lemme repharase that question as "Does Vampiric cannibalism give the consumer the powers of the Vampire they're eating?"
>>4106304There's the Soul Steal I suppose. But only immensely powerful vampires can pull that off.I suppose there's also Death's ability to manipulate souls. But that doesn't count, he's Death. Chaos doesn't count either. There might be some other demons or gods that can manage it. Oh, and the Power of Dominance of course, the strongest soul manipulation ability of all.Basic recently turned vampires are unable to do so.Why? Were you planning on having Holly feed on Hildebrandt?>>4106314I believe that anon is referring to a term used in Vampire the Masquerade where vampires can feed on other vampires to consume their soul to gain power.
>>4106319>Why? Were you planning on having Holly feed on Hildebrandt?Ye. Kinda sucks that it's a magical ability rather than a racial one though. But in that case we could just keep hilda on ice until holly could do it.
>>4106331We should see what the vampire gacha gives Holly for unique powers. She might get a set that's far better then old and moldy.
>>4106345No reason to limit yourself to one set of powers if you can master many though; But by the time Holly could perform the soul steal, not sure Hilde's power would be good enough, unless it's really unique.
>>4106125>>"First off, I should really get something to eat, I haven't eaten since yesterday morning and I promised Mistral I'd get her something."Food: you need it to live.
>>4106331Shit, anon, you want to feed the only real vampire we've met to the fucking receptionist with no personality? What's next? Gonna grind alura up into fertilizer for an une?
